Speaker 1: All right, Well, it's Saturday, August twenty second, lou Terminello,
• 0:05
Speaker 1: penultimate week of August. How do we get here? Firstly,
• 0:07
Speaker 1: and secondly, oh my goodness, the Yanks are three games
• 0:11
Speaker 1: out of the AL East. I had my little schedule
• 0:14
Speaker 1: I had thought of for them, which is going to
• 0:16
Speaker 1: be by August twenty eighth. They're three games out with
• 0:19
Speaker 1: the division inside again, how about that?
• 0:22
Speaker 2: Well, you're right, first of all, good morning, Alex, and
• 0:24
Speaker 2: thanks for having me. As always, You're right, summer's going
• 0:26
Speaker 2: too fast. I can't believe that Labor Day is right
• 0:31
Speaker 2: around the corner here, and Labor Day signals the last
• 0:36
Speaker 2: month of the baseball season, which is gonna be. It'll
• 0:39
Speaker 2: be interesting. Obviously, the AL East is where it's at
• 0:45
Speaker 2: with Tampa, the Yankees, then even the Red Sox. It
• 0:49
Speaker 2: looks like those three will will all make the not
• 0:52
Speaker 2: they will, I mean Vegas has the Yankees in Tampa
• 0:57
Speaker 2: at ninety nine plus layoff possibility, the Red Sox at
• 1:02
Speaker 2: like ninety five, and then the rest of the American
• 1:06
Speaker 2: League just is just dregs of the dregs, and so
• 1:10
Speaker 2: I think the World Series, well American League representative will
• 1:15
Speaker 2: be the Yankees Tampa Bay. Probably in all likelihood, the
• 1:18
Speaker 2: Yankees have cut the lead from six to three the
• 1:22
Speaker 2: past week. You know, the Raves started nine to zero
• 1:25
Speaker 2: on that what West Coast road trip, completed nine to
• 1:28
Speaker 2: oh West Coast road trip, and now are two and
• 1:30
  Speaker 2: six since then.
• 1:32
Speaker 3: Again, no, and that's the thing.
• 1:33
Speaker 1: I always felt like the Raids were going to falter
• 1:35
Speaker 1: at some point, and here we are might be happening.
• 1:37
Speaker 2: So well, again, they've been the most consistent team on
• 1:41
Speaker 2: the positive side in the American League goal year.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: I don't know what you mean the dregs that are
• 1:47
Speaker 1: I mean, there are dregs that are still three games
• 1:49
Speaker 1: under the out of the wild car, which I find
• 1:52
Speaker 1: crazy to be. I mean, the Mariners see one in
• 1:54
Speaker 1: sixty eight, three games out. I mean, I just I
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: don't know, I don't get it.
• 1:58
Speaker 2: But yeah, even the Tigers sixty one, sixty seven, the
• 2:03
Speaker 2: Oreo sixty two and sixty seven, the j sixty three
• 2:06
Speaker 2: and sixty seven, the Guardian sixty three and sixty six,
• 2:10
Speaker 2: the Twins sixty three and sixty six one game out,
• 2:13
Speaker 2: and the Texas Rangers right now on the twenty second,
• 2:18
Speaker 2: one game under five hundred. They have that last wild
• 2:21
Speaker 2: card spot right now, but that's going to change five
• 2:24
Speaker 2: six times in the last month. The Yankees pitching is superior,
• 2:30
Speaker 2: and that's and that is the Kee. The Yankee superior
• 2:33
Speaker 2: pitching is covering up all of their ills, so that
• 2:38
Speaker 2: pitching is going to carry them. I think, uh, you know,
• 2:42
Speaker 2: through through the playoffs, the American League playoffs, at that least,
• 2:48
Speaker 2: I think it's imperative the Yankees finish first. I think
• 2:52
Speaker 2: it's imperative that Tampa Bay finishes first. If one of
• 2:55
Speaker 2: those two teams, and they are the two best teams
• 2:57
Speaker 2: in the American League, want to get to the World Series.
• 3:01
  Speaker 3: So that's baseball.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: That award goes to the Brewers right now, who have
• 3:05
Speaker 1: eighty wins first to eighty and here we are almost
• 3:10
Speaker 1: end of August. By now, the Dodgers would have been
• 3:12
Speaker 1: in that eighty win range. But you know, I don't know,
• 3:16
Speaker 1: as they're tearing it on too late. Is that what's
• 3:18
Speaker 1: happening here? Louisn't really well.
• 3:20
Speaker 2: I did a little little standing research National League standing
• 3:25
Speaker 2: to research the Dodgers. The Dodgers record the last three years.
• 3:32
Speaker 2: On August twenty first, twenty second is one game either
• 3:39
Speaker 2: way of what it of what it's what it's been.
• 3:42
Speaker 2: It's always it's been the same seventy six and fifty two,
• 3:45
Speaker 2: seventy five and fifty one, seventy four and fifty two.
• 3:48
Speaker 2: So they're at the same pace now. They've been able
• 3:52
Speaker 2: to turn it on the last two years. And let's
• 3:55
Speaker 2: face it, you know, obviously they won the World Series
• 3:57
Speaker 2: by the skin of their teeth on a couple of
• 3:59
Speaker 2: great defensive play in Game seven. But I can't I
• 4:04
Speaker 2: can't discount him. I don't think if you said to
• 4:07
Speaker 2: me loud, World Series, do you take internationally, do you
• 4:12
Speaker 2: take the Dodgers or do you take the field. I'm
• 4:15
Speaker 2: taking the field right now, but uh, you know me,
• 4:19
Speaker 2: until the champion is is dead, you always gotta respect
• 4:24
Speaker 2: the champion a little bit.
• 4:26
  Speaker 4: But I do.
• 4:27
Speaker 2: I do agree with you. The Dodgers. I think I'm
• 4:32
Speaker 2: gonna get picked off this year.
• 4:33
  Speaker 4: I do.
• 4:34
Speaker 2: I don't know if they they have just gotten old quickly.
• 4:37
Speaker 2: Mookie Betts is not to say Mookie Betts offensively. Will
• 4:44
Speaker 2: Smith's being banged up. We know how how key he
• 4:47
Speaker 2: is to their success. He's missed a large portion of
• 4:50
  Speaker 2: the season.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: And the guyan right, Kyle Tucker, you've been talking about
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: all the year.
• 4:54
Speaker 3: I mean not not leaving you know.
• 4:58
Speaker 2: Me, You're right, I mean Tucker's home and road splits
• 5:04
Speaker 2: are you know, unbelievable. Uh, two seventy five at home,
• 5:10
Speaker 2: three seventy five ops. I mean on base percentage eight
• 5:14
Speaker 2: forty ops on the road. At home he's batting one
• 5:20
Speaker 2: and his OPS is five fifty eight. So the pressure
• 5:23
Speaker 2: of playing at under that Dodger Stadium spotlight with the crowd,
• 5:28
Speaker 2: and let's face it, the Dodger Stadium crowd is tough,
• 5:31
Speaker 2: but it's not Philly tough or New York tough or
• 5:34
  Speaker 2: Boston tough.
• 5:36
Speaker 4: But he's feeling the pressure. And I was, you know, I've.
• 5:38
Speaker 2: Been watching games last week on a homestand especially those
• 5:41
Speaker 2: four games against the Brewers. He was bowed and he
• 5:44
Speaker 2: dropped the fly ball in right field. He's not the
• 5:47
Speaker 2: same Kyle Tucker that we see in the past. I
• 5:49
Speaker 2: think last night the fans' first time up gave him
• 5:53
Speaker 2: a standing ovation to show their support of him through
• 5:57
Speaker 2: these tough times at home.
• 6:00
Speaker 3: But uh, and that's what these guys should get.
• 6:04
Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sorry, I still think they should get
• 6:06
Speaker 1: some support for home crowd, you know. And I think
• 6:09
Speaker 1: Otani is not hitting the way he used to, right,
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: I don't think he's hit no those.
• 6:12
Speaker 2: Homes Again, I agree with you and everybody says it's
• 6:15
Speaker 2: between Otani and Pete crow Armstrong for MVP. I don't
• 6:19
Speaker 2: know if Otani it's it is there for MVP.
• 6:24
Speaker 4: If I was, if I had a vote.
• 6:26
Speaker 2: I'm voting for Pete crow Armstrong unless he goes into
• 6:28
Speaker 2: Mammot slump the last five weeks of the season. That
• 6:34
Speaker 2: right now, on August twenty second, he get.
• 6:37
Speaker 3: Or the Miz. I love what Miseroski's doing with.
• 6:40
Speaker 4: The Miz right now.
• 6:42
Speaker 2: Looks like he's gonna win the cy Young And if
• 6:44
Speaker 2: you want to, I'm not against a cy Young an
• 6:49
Speaker 2: MVP double. I would if you want to throw Miseraski
• 6:53
Speaker 2: in for the MVP Award, that that would be. That
• 6:57
Speaker 2: would be fine too.
• 7:00
Speaker 1: You have to, I guess a Schwarber or even correct.
• 7:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, absolutely. I mean, I know he hasn't
• 7:08
Speaker 2: hit for a high average, but he's a run producer
• 7:12
Speaker 2: and when he goes when he's going good, the Phillies
• 7:15
Speaker 2: are going good and the fields are dangerous. But in
• 7:19
Speaker 2: the National League, unlike the American League, you're gonna have
• 7:22
Speaker 2: a decent team that's not going to make the playoffs.
• 7:25
Speaker 2: And that's gonna come from depending on what happens in September.
• 7:33
Speaker 2: If somebody gets hot, if somebody just has four loses
• 7:35
Speaker 2: four games in a row, that's how you know how
• 7:37
Speaker 2: close this is. I mean, you got you got Philly,
• 7:41
Speaker 2: you got San Diego, and you got the Diamondbacks. One
• 7:43
Speaker 2: game out, one of those teams are it's not gonna
• 7:48
Speaker 2: make it. I think San Diego is gonna make it.
• 7:51
Speaker 2: I think they're gonna get better. Uh the rest of
• 7:54
Speaker 2: the way. I think Philly is gonna make it. I
• 7:56
Speaker 2: think the Diamondbacks again will fall just short. But uh,
• 8:03
Speaker 2: I wouldn't want to play the Phils, not with not
• 8:06
Speaker 2: with their starting staff, not with uh uh their closer.
• 8:11
Speaker 2: I wouldn't want to play the Phillies.
• 8:13
Speaker 1: Still in the American League, the Ages would be the
• 8:16
Speaker 1: second best team, if not the best, and still not
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: have a buye. I mean, I think they're the top
• 8:22
Speaker 1: two play teams. I wish we would rank them that
• 8:24
Speaker 1: way and that and we said that last time too.
• 8:26
Speaker 2: But yeah, well yeah, we talked about that last week,
• 8:29
Speaker 2: and uh, A lot of people in the business, a
• 8:31
Speaker 2: lot of players, you know, you would think would say, hey,
• 8:34
Speaker 2: we have a better record than a team in another division,
• 8:38
Speaker 2: But a lot of players say, hey, if we finished
• 8:40
Speaker 2: first in that division, that team should get I should
• 8:44
Speaker 2: get to buy. It's really it's really, uh a split decision.
• 8:50
Speaker 2: As far as I would give, I would go by records.
• 8:54
Speaker 2: I would go by record. But that that now just me.
• 8:56
Speaker 1: The team is incredible to me because they're so under
• 8:59
Speaker 1: their right. Now are the Braves? I mean, the Braves
• 9:01
Speaker 1: have been chopping would I guess I could say, I
• 9:05
Speaker 1: don't know, but it's like that that they're dominating, but
• 9:08
Speaker 1: no one really talks about it.
• 9:09
Speaker 3: And interesting they are.
• 9:11
Speaker 2: They they are under definitely under the radar. And maybe
• 9:16
Speaker 2: it is because, let's face it, for most of the
• 9:19
Speaker 2: last twenty years, they've been very good.
• 9:22
Speaker 4: And you take very good for.
• 9:23
Speaker 2: Granted sometimes but obviously they have pitching injuries, but they
• 9:31
Speaker 2: are very good. They have good interior defense, They're obviously
• 9:36
Speaker 2: they're dangerous, but you are correct, they are under the
• 9:40
  Speaker 2: radar screen.
• 9:41
Speaker 1: I mean, you know, they love to it, they're the Yankees,
• 9:43
Speaker 1: but I mean they're so solid and look, I'm always
• 9:46
Speaker 1: a big fan of Mett Olson. In fact, I always
• 9:47
Speaker 1: thought he would be like he's underrated. He is under
• 9:52
Speaker 1: the air MVP candidate.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: As well, that absolutely, and he is an MVP candidate
• 9:56
Speaker 2: this year also, no doubt he is underrated. Again, He's
• 10:01
Speaker 2: been so good for so long. We take him for granted.
• 10:05
Speaker 1: Because Acuna and everything like that, and they're just keeping
• 10:08
  Speaker 1: him healthy.
• 10:08
  Speaker 3: Is it's it's interesting.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: I see they lost the Brave Brewers yesterday and I
• 10:13
Speaker 1: guess Sale pitched against them, so.
• 10:14
Speaker 4: There it was sailing as a Rosky.
• 10:16
Speaker 2: So both those guys, you know, pitch out standing games.
• 10:19
Speaker 2: But it'll be it'll be an interesting uh September and
• 10:25
Speaker 2: uh we're you know, we'll see, uh if we have
• 10:28
Speaker 2: an under five hundred team in the playoffs.
• 10:31
Speaker 1: Now, I still think Manningly is gonna get Madame and
• 10:33
Speaker 1: Manager of the Year. I just get the feeling for
• 10:35
Speaker 1: the n L on the al side. It could be
• 10:37
Speaker 1: booned with all the stuff he's been navigating.
• 10:39
  Speaker 3: Will ever be.
• 10:40
Speaker 2: Something, Yeah, it could be. I think right now Max
• 10:48
Speaker 2: Vennable of the White Sox will will probably He's yeah,
• 10:51
Speaker 2: that that's a probably will lead candidate.
• 10:55
Speaker 1: When I was gonna say, you know, this could be
• 10:57
Speaker 1: the series that buries the Mets in any kind of
• 10:59
Speaker 1: change of being at five hundred, because.
• 11:02
Speaker 4: They were never close to five hundred.
• 11:05
Speaker 1: But this could be the series that puts a damper
• 11:07
Speaker 1: on the whole thing, because you know, the White Sox
• 11:11
  Speaker 1: are good.
• 11:11
Speaker 3: They wont to walk off last night.
• 11:13
Speaker 1: They could sweep the Mets, and I think if they don't,
• 11:15
  Speaker 1: that's a pride. If they still lose a series, that's
• 11:18
Speaker 1: a problem because they also lost the Cubs this week too,
• 11:21
  Speaker 1: So it's interesting.
• 11:22
Speaker 2: Yeah, last night, the met should have won the game.
• 11:26
Speaker 2: The White Sox only had six hits, but they had
• 11:28
Speaker 2: four home runs back to back to back. And then
• 11:32
Speaker 2: Jake Rogers and his story is just incredible. He's played
• 11:36
Speaker 2: on fourteens and twenty one days in the last month,
• 11:41
Speaker 2: going from Detroit to Baltimore, the Boston to the White Sox.
• 11:48
Speaker 2: It goes to show you how important catching is and
• 11:54
Speaker 2: how little talent there is at the catching position in
• 11:58
Speaker 2: Major League Baseball right now. Everybody will take a catcher
• 12:02
Speaker 2: has who just has a pulse, and you know, Roger's
• 12:06
Speaker 2: only about one seventy five, and.
• 12:07
Speaker 1: The bookies are just like, well, we didn't get anybody.
• 12:10
Speaker 1: But you know, a Yankee fans were probably like eyeing him.
• 12:13
Speaker 1: I know Rogers in the talks of the deadline, so
• 12:15
Speaker 1: you know, it's just.
• 12:17
Speaker 2: You know, everybody talks about, you know, giving away players.
• 12:22
Speaker 2: When the Yankees gave away for one hundred thousand dollars
• 12:26
Speaker 2: Lewis Rrenz to the Mets for one hundred thousand dollars,
• 12:30
Speaker 2: in retrospect that that was a mistake. He would be perfect.
• 12:36
Speaker 4: On the New York Yankees.
• 12:38
Speaker 2: Now he's analytically the best defensive catcher in baseball, and
• 12:44
Speaker 2: he's hitting a little bit, and I'm glad the Mets
• 12:48
Speaker 2: have him on their contract for end of the.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: Year and the White Sox and not have murrh commy
• 12:52
Speaker 1: last year. I think that's made a difference this year.
• 12:54
Speaker 1: I mean his presence and everything like that. But beyond that,
• 12:59
Speaker 1: they made the right moves these call ups. I mean
• 13:01
Speaker 1: that other kid, Montgomery, I mean, oh my goodness, And
• 13:04
Speaker 1: I guess you're right. Venable has kept the ship of
• 13:06
Speaker 1: going here with I think they're gonna win the division
• 13:09
Speaker 1: for sure. I don't see the Guardians lab I mean,
• 13:12
Speaker 1: the Guardians always make a final push during these playoff runs.
• 13:16
Speaker 3: But I think the White Sox have it. I really
• 13:17
  Speaker 3: do so.
• 13:18
Speaker 2: I think the White Sox Gooden finished first. They just
• 13:21
Speaker 2: got to if they could just maintain, maintain some sort
• 13:26
Speaker 2: of consistency, not going to.
• 13:29
  Speaker 3: Star right games.
• 13:29
Speaker 1: So one of my favorite ballplayers, Andrew Bennettendee, I mean,
• 13:34
Speaker 1: he's the perfect fit for that team. He's been there
• 13:36
Speaker 1: for a while and like he's the perfect vet to
• 13:38
Speaker 1: have on that team, you know, So.
• 13:41
Speaker 2: He's a perfect vet. The guy's are pro, the guy
• 13:43
  Speaker 2: can hit.
• 13:44
  Speaker 4: The guy.
• 13:46
Speaker 2: Has suffered through the one hundred and twenty one loss season.
• 13:50
Speaker 2: You know, like we said in the past, they've lost
• 13:52
Speaker 2: over three hundred and forty games combined the last three years.
• 13:54
Speaker 2: So he's seen it all and he's played in playoff games.
• 13:59
Speaker 2: So we'll be able to calm the the young White
• 14:02
Speaker 2: Sox down. You know, this is a bonus here for
• 14:05
Speaker 2: the White Sox. They you know, didn't expect to be
• 14:08
Speaker 2: in first place on August twenty August twenty second, and
• 14:14
Speaker 2: it's good to see people back in the stands at
• 14:16
Speaker 2: you know, at the rate field.
• 14:19
Speaker 1: I know, I know, and to being some misky it
• 14:22
Speaker 1: was that, yeah, but you.
• 14:24
Speaker 2: Know, and you know, they've done a nice job. They
• 14:28
Speaker 2: have done a nice job. They've turned it around. They've
• 14:30
Speaker 2: turned it around quickly. Of course, being in that division
• 14:33
Speaker 2: helps because a division, it's a division where there is
• 14:37
Speaker 2: no high paying teams. Nobody's going to blow you away
• 14:41
Speaker 2: with a high payroll in that division as far as
• 14:43
Speaker 2: their salary goes. The Twins aren't, the Guardians aren't, the
• 14:46
Speaker 2: Tigers aren't, and the Royals aren't. So you don't have
• 14:50
Speaker 2: to worry about with like, say, if you're in the
• 14:52
Speaker 2: NL E still we gotta worry about the Nets spending
• 14:54
Speaker 2: a lot of money, the Philly spending a lot of money,
• 14:56
Speaker 2: the Brave spending a lot of money, or in the
• 14:58
Speaker 2: AL East Toronto, Austin, the Yankees. So that gives, that
• 15:03
Speaker 2: gives the teams in the AL Central an the NL Central,
• 15:07
Speaker 2: you know, uh uh a fighting chance.
• 15:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, all right, So I want to move on.
• 15:16
Speaker 1: I feel like I want to say, on baseball for
• 15:18
Speaker 1: one more minute, the Brewers manager callsby manager of the Year.
• 15:21
Speaker 1: I think because of the way he's had that team. Also,
• 15:23
Speaker 1: I mean, he's done a great job with them.
• 15:27
Speaker 2: You know who's getting a lot of uh who still
• 15:29
Speaker 2: gets a lot of And you're right about Pat Murphy
• 15:32
Speaker 2: that he's outstanding manager. But you know, he still gets
• 15:35
Speaker 2: a lot of credit for the way the Milwaukee Brewers
• 15:38
Speaker 2: are built, and US MED fans don't want to hear
• 15:41
Speaker 2: it because we're so upset with UH, with David Stearns,
• 15:44
Speaker 2: but a lot entellly nobody in Major League Baseball except writers,
• 15:49
Speaker 2: but the guys in the business, they still praise David Stearns.
• 15:57
Speaker 2: You know, he's the reason that he set the foundation
• 15:59
Speaker 2: for the Brewers today.
• 16:02
Speaker 1: Maybe maybe I'll tell you his acquisition of Jake Bowers
• 16:06
Speaker 1: and UH has really changed the team. I think to
• 16:09
Speaker 1: him and Terang is great. Chario, I mean, come on.
• 16:13
Speaker 2: Uh, they have they again, they have good pitching, they
• 16:16
Speaker 2: have timely hitting, and they have they're very good defensive team,
• 16:19
Speaker 2: like the Cubs are a very good defensive team.
• 16:21
Speaker 1: Oh do we talk about this last week? That the
• 16:23
Speaker 1: that I feel the Yankees lineup is more run prevention
• 16:27
Speaker 1: than scoring right now, because I feel like they're putting
• 16:30
Speaker 1: guys out there that will help prevent runs rather than
• 16:33
Speaker 1: score a lot of runs.
• 16:34
Speaker 2: I don't know if yourself, they'll get they'll get even better.
• 16:38
Speaker 2: Once Bellinger comes back, I guess tomorrow or or Monday
• 16:42
Speaker 2: or Tuesday. I guess he's on the verge of coming
• 16:44
Speaker 2: back and he will help their run prevention.
• 16:47
Speaker 1: And not for nothing, not not to say that we
• 16:49
Speaker 1: don't need to make me in which we do. But
• 16:52
Speaker 1: the Yankees needed this moment to see what a Rosario
• 16:57
Speaker 1: could give the team, what a Caveerro could give. I mean,
• 17:00
Speaker 1: when Lombard came up, that cut down the copies playing time,
• 17:03
Speaker 1: and I never really understood why, because he's a good player,
• 17:06
Speaker 1: you know, like he needs to be let up. With
• 17:09
Speaker 1: Lombard at any position, I would put him in left.
• 17:12
Speaker 1: Although Ramos is starting to hit now. But see they're
• 17:14
Speaker 1: playing for run prevention, not so much scoring, and the
• 17:18
Speaker 1: pitching is holding together these three one games, lou the
• 17:22
Speaker 1: Yankees never used. The Yankees would only really score three
• 17:25
Speaker 1: or four runs, you know, in the nineties. Maybe I
• 17:28
Speaker 1: don't know, but it's it's so different to see them
• 17:31
Speaker 1: score small ball more than anything.
• 17:33
  Speaker 4: Now.
• 17:33
Speaker 3: It's just weird. It's very well.
• 17:36
Speaker 4: You talked about run prevention.
• 17:37
Speaker 2: The greatest run prevention a team can have, is it
• 17:41
Speaker 2: like a pitching staff like the New York Yankees have
• 17:43
  Speaker 2: right now this.
• 17:45
  Speaker 3: Year twenty wins.
• 17:48
Speaker 1: I mean, there were some games he just he did
• 17:51
Speaker 1: not favor, He did not get treated well by the offense.
• 17:54
Speaker 1: They should be fifteen wins at least by now, but
• 17:58
Speaker 1: he did at eleven, you know. And I want to
• 18:01
Speaker 1: get to milestones here because I'm looking at his stats.
• 18:03
Speaker 1: He's almost a three hundred career strikeouts, three hundred career.
• 18:06
Speaker 1: He just started last summer, Louis Okay.
• 18:10
Speaker 2: He's got great stuff. He's got blowaway stuff, and he
• 18:15
Speaker 2: has smoked a lot a lot of major league hitters
• 18:19
Speaker 2: in his first year and a half in the major league.
• 18:22
Speaker 4: There's no doubt about it.
• 18:23
Speaker 1: And then another guy circling three hundred is mister Alonso.
• 18:26
Speaker 1: He's a few home runs away from three hundred career homers.
• 18:31
Speaker 1: And you know, he got his thirtieth last night. I believe,
• 18:35
  Speaker 1: but imagine I don't think he's gonna I think he
• 18:37
Speaker 1: will get it before that series with the Mess, But
• 18:40
Speaker 1: imagined he doesn't and he gets his three hundred at
• 18:42
Speaker 1: City Field, that would be unbelievable, Lily.
• 18:45
Speaker 4: That would be great. I would love to see that,
• 18:47
  Speaker 4: I really will.
• 18:48
Speaker 3: He's got six homers on the way he's sitting now.
• 18:49
Speaker 3: I think he's gonna do it before September fourteenth.
• 18:52
Speaker 2: You're probably right, but he'll be right around September fourteenth.
• 18:55
Speaker 2: So again we've talked about that NAIs him just after
• 19:01
Speaker 2: Tom sever and Tom Seaver was obviously at the level
• 19:05
Speaker 2: above Peelonzo, but after the Tom Seaver debacle back in
• 19:10
Speaker 2: nineteen seventy seven. This is the worst roster move in
• 19:16
Speaker 2: Met's history, even worse than Nolan Ryan. You could toss
• 19:21
Speaker 2: a coin with that one.
• 19:22
Speaker 4: But this is this is just and.
• 19:24
Speaker 1: I'll tell you I was sad to see Rutchman go
• 19:26
Speaker 1: to the Red Sox. I thought he would be a
• 19:28
Speaker 1: lifelong Oriole. But since the deadline, you know, they've been
• 19:31
Speaker 1: doing really well. They beat the the Raised three out
• 19:35
Speaker 1: of four last week now.
• 19:37
Speaker 2: But they lost three straight to the Yankees, so that
• 19:40
Speaker 2: that that nullifies beating the race three out of four.
• 19:43
Speaker 2: The thing with the Rays, the Rays had the best
• 19:45
Speaker 2: home record in the American League. They go nine to
• 19:48
Speaker 2: zero on the on the West Coast road trip, come home,
• 19:51
Speaker 2: and you think they would have a good homestand and
• 19:54
Speaker 2: they lose three out of four to Baltimore. Then it
• 19:56
Speaker 2: was two out of three to the Jays, and then
• 19:58
Speaker 2: last night they lost on the road to Baltimore. So
• 20:03
Speaker 2: you know this this has a long way to go.
• 20:04
Speaker 2: We have no idea who's going to finish first. The
• 20:07
Speaker 2: Yankees still have a great chance to finish first. Remember
• 20:10
Speaker 2: last year on August twenty sixth, the Indians were twelve
• 20:16
Speaker 2: and a half games the Tigers, and the Tigers collapsed
• 20:19
Speaker 2: twenty six and the Tigers collapsed.
• 20:22
Speaker 3: So and you know, I think that wrote wait on
• 20:23
  Speaker 3: School's mind.
• 20:24
Speaker 1: Although he wants to come back to Detroit, so we'll
• 20:26
Speaker 1: see how that plays out.
• 20:27
Speaker 3: At the end, he's not coming back to Detroit.
• 20:29
  Speaker 4: You can's gone.
• 20:31
Speaker 3: He is not farewell in la right now.
• 20:33
Speaker 1: It's very interesting thought to see that happening. All right,
• 20:36
Speaker 1: I want to get to two weeks ago today, Tommy
• 20:40
Speaker 1: John writes a letter in hospice saying goodbye to the
• 20:42
Speaker 1: Yankee family. And then, of course less than a week
• 20:46
Speaker 1: a weekend a day later, he passes. And you know,
• 20:48
Speaker 1: as you know, I got to talk to Tommy John
• 20:50
Speaker 1: and meet him and get his autograph and all that.
• 20:52
Speaker 2: He had a great interview with him, Alex, you had
• 20:54
  Speaker 2: a fantastic interviewer.
• 20:55
Speaker 1: Special guy like he just and he was a very
• 20:57
Speaker 1: funny guy too. But you saw him play. So what
• 21:00
Speaker 1: do you remember Platt watching him pitch? Did you go
• 21:02
Speaker 1: to a lot of games of his. What do you
• 21:04
  Speaker 1: remember the most.
• 21:05
Speaker 2: Well, I saw him pitch a lot, because he played
• 21:07
Speaker 2: a lot. You know, he played twenty six years. He
• 21:12
Speaker 2: was an outstanding left handed pitcher. Obviously, he's known, unfortunately
• 21:20
Speaker 2: for being the first guy to have a revolutionary surgery
• 21:24
Speaker 2: by Frank Joe, the Dodgers team physician, back in nineteen
• 21:28
Speaker 2: seventy four, which now bears his name. Tommy John. He
• 21:32
Speaker 2: was an excellent pitcher for the White Sox. Not a
• 21:37
Speaker 2: hard thrower. If he had to rare back once in
• 21:41
Speaker 2: a while, he would, but he was more of a
• 21:43
Speaker 2: sinker ball, curve ball pitcher, got a lot of ground balls.
• 21:50
Speaker 4: You know, pitched great for the Dodgers.
• 21:52
Speaker 2: Won more games after Tommy John than before Tommy John
• 21:56
Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty four I believe before and one
• 21:58
Speaker 2: hundred and sixty four after. Always you know, he played
• 22:02
Speaker 2: for the Dodgers. He played for the Yankees. Obviously they
• 22:04
Speaker 2: were always good teams, so we had that behind him.
• 22:09
  Speaker 3: Uh.
• 22:11
Speaker 4: He pitched against the Yankees in the World Series. He
• 22:13
Speaker 4: pitched into the Dodgers in the World Series.
• 22:15
Speaker 2: It's it's really it's really ironic, and the ironies.
• 22:19
Speaker 3: He lost on both ends. That's so interesting, you know,
• 22:23
  Speaker 3: it really is.
• 22:25
Speaker 4: He won ninety I mean.
• 22:26
Speaker 1: To me, let alone, the fact that he had two
• 22:30
Speaker 1: hundred eight wins to have one hundred and sixty four
• 22:32
Speaker 1: after the surgery, that is Hall of Fame worthy.
• 22:34
  Speaker 3: Like I just I feel like he's.
• 22:37
Speaker 1: There only because well mainly because of his accomplishments after
• 22:40
  Speaker 1: the surgery.
• 22:41
Speaker 3: And also, you know, two hundred eighty eight wins.
• 22:44
Speaker 1: Anybody could have that, but it's a special situation where
• 22:47
Speaker 1: he overcame that injury, had that surgery and won one.
• 22:50
  Speaker 3: Hundred sixty four.
• 22:51
Speaker 1: That's that would be showing me the Hall of Fame
• 22:55
Speaker 1: recognize the adaptive athletes. Now people may wonder why I
• 22:58
Speaker 1: consider Tommy john and adapt to bathlete. Well, the surgery
• 23:02
Speaker 1: changed his thing. He had to adapt it a little
• 23:03
Speaker 1: bit and all that. I mean, he's an adapted athlete.
• 23:06
Speaker 2: Like, yeah, no, I understand, I understand. You know where
• 23:11
  Speaker 2: you're coming from, Alex. I cannot. If I was a
• 23:15
Speaker 2: Hall of Fame voter, he had an outstanding career, I
• 23:20
Speaker 2: would not vote. I would not vote for him in
• 23:22
Speaker 2: a Hall of Fame. I mean, he has the he
• 23:25
Speaker 2: only led his last two years with the Dodgers. He
• 23:29
Speaker 2: led the nationally good winning percentage. That's the only positive
• 23:32
Speaker 2: black type on his career resume. The other black type
• 23:40
Speaker 2: he has he gave up two hundred and eighty seven hits.
• 23:44
Speaker 2: I think when he was with the Angels led the
• 23:46
Speaker 2: American League in most hits given up. That's not a
• 23:49
  Speaker 2: positive black type.
• 23:53
  Speaker 4: Well.
• 23:54
Speaker 2: A lot of times people compare him to Nolan Ryan
• 23:57
Speaker 2: because Nolan Ryan had a similar wre Nolan Ryan won
• 24:00
Speaker 2: three hundred and twenty four games alex He almost lost
• 24:03
Speaker 2: three hundred games. It was two hundred and ninety four.
• 24:06
Speaker 2: But Nolan Ryan led the National led the major leagues
• 24:10
Speaker 2: or either the American League or National League in strikeouts
• 24:13
Speaker 2: e eleven times. Four times in his forties he led
• 24:18
Speaker 2: the He led the American League in in.
• 24:23
  Speaker 4: Era.
• 24:24
Speaker 2: There's seven no hitters, I believe eleven or twelve one hitters,
• 24:30
Speaker 2: five seven hundred and fourteen strikeouts. Nolan Ryan is a
• 24:35
Speaker 2: Hall of Famer because those those are overwhelming lifetime achievements.
• 24:41
Speaker 2: Tommy John did not have that. Now, he was an
• 24:44
  Speaker 2: outstanding pitcher.
• 24:46
  Speaker 4: In the day.
• 24:47
Speaker 2: You know, in an era where pitching mattered more than
• 24:49
  Speaker 2: does today.
• 24:52
Speaker 1: Now, do you believe the idea that his surgery changed
• 24:54
Speaker 1: the lives of so many baseballers or are we overusing
• 24:56
  Speaker 1: it now?
• 24:57
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, that that that's urgery definitely
• 25:01
Speaker 2: definitely changed the life of.
• 25:02
Speaker 4: So many pictures. You know what.
• 25:04
Speaker 2: It's like, thirty percent or thirty four percent of all
• 25:08
Speaker 2: pitchers get Tommy John surgery. But just because he was
• 25:11
Speaker 2: the first one to get it, that doesn't make them
• 25:13
Speaker 2: eligible fall Hall of Fame. They should put Frank Joe,
• 25:17
Speaker 2: the Dodgers team physician.
• 25:19
Speaker 4: Yeah, in the Hall of Fame.
• 25:22
Speaker 1: Well, there are some position players that got it over
• 25:26
Speaker 1: the years also, I mean absolutely.
• 25:28
Speaker 2: One of one of my friends, one of my best friends,
• 25:31
Speaker 2: his kid was an ouxielder is an Alex fielder in
• 25:35
Speaker 2: the in the Nationals organization now.
• 25:37
Speaker 4: And when he was at Butler.
• 25:41
Speaker 2: He needed Tommy John position player.
• 25:43
Speaker 4: He needed Tommy John.
• 25:44
Speaker 2: He was he played the corner positions.
• 25:46
Speaker 1: And it seemed like to me he wasn't bothered that
• 25:50
Speaker 1: his name was attached to it. But I feel like
• 25:52
Speaker 1: you had said he was bothered at times during this.
• 25:54
Speaker 2: Well, I did see an interview a couple of years
• 25:57
Speaker 2: ago on MLB Network with with Chris Chris Madorg Russo
• 26:03
Speaker 2: and he made it seem too to Chris Russo that yeah,
• 26:08
Speaker 2: he wished he wasn't the first one and didn't have
• 26:11
Speaker 2: his name attached to it.
• 26:12
Speaker 1: Again, and I believe what Frank Joe did was actually
• 26:15
Speaker 1: revolutionize it because it was used for polio patients. Then
• 26:18
Speaker 1: they use on a baseball player, and so what what
• 26:21
  Speaker 1: what a change?
• 26:21
  Speaker 3: You know?
• 26:22
Speaker 2: It's yeah, no, it's again, it's it was revolutionary that.
• 26:26
Speaker 1: And we don't talk about IM sure football quarterbacks get
• 26:28
  Speaker 1: it too.
• 26:29
  Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure.
• 26:30
Speaker 2: I think, yeah, I didn't in that in that championship game,
• 26:36
Speaker 2: I think, uh he blew out his his U C
• 26:39
Speaker 2: L And I think, uh uh. They had to do
• 26:42
  Speaker 2: it on party.
• 26:44
Speaker 1: The Niners by the way of the most tormented off season.
• 26:47
Speaker 1: We'll get to that maybe at some point, but it's
• 26:49
Speaker 1: been a weird off season for them.
• 26:50
  Speaker 3: But I digress.
• 26:51
Speaker 1: No, me and Tommy get to know him and his
• 26:54
Speaker 1: family share a great wife.
• 26:55
Speaker 3: I mean, just really really special, a great player.
• 27:00
Speaker 1: I know him after his career in the public spotlight
• 27:03
Speaker 1: like that was really special. And again thanks to his
• 27:06
Speaker 1: agent Mac and everybody for connecting us that that was
• 27:10
Speaker 1: really great. So they honored him last night at the
• 27:12
Speaker 1: stadium the Yanks win in honor of him, and you know,
• 27:15
Speaker 1: I think his final win was five to three or
• 27:18
Speaker 1: something like that. So that thought that was and she no,
• 27:21
Speaker 1: all right, I want to get to last night's Jet game.
• 27:24
Speaker 1: So I follow Brian Cassello and I'm sure you do
• 27:27
Speaker 1: on New York Post. I do, and I'm reading our
• 27:30
Speaker 1: buddy Ryan. I said, Ryan Gino Smith just through seven
• 27:33
Speaker 1: for seven then his first dry It's like, what is
• 27:39
Speaker 1: that a reason for excitement or is it preseason? I
• 27:41
Speaker 1: know you're gonna say it's preseason, but seven for seven,
• 27:43
Speaker 1: six or nine yards, that's something we haven't heard from
• 27:46
Speaker 1: a Gino Smith's stat line in a while.
• 27:49
Speaker 2: Well, i'll give the the pros and cons of it.
• 27:54
Speaker 4: We'll go with the con first.
• 27:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's preseason against the Steelers, who are playing a
• 27:58
Speaker 2: very vanilla defense and not tepping hand. The Jets and
• 28:01
Speaker 2: Steelers don't play this season, so it's not like they're
• 28:04
Speaker 2: trying to hide something from each other. But the thing
• 28:08
Speaker 2: that I liked in that first drive is what I
• 28:13
Speaker 2: like the touchdown, the play that Frank Reich, who I
• 28:17
Speaker 2: think is going to be a positive for the Jets
• 28:19
Speaker 2: this year, the play that he designed and then Smith
• 28:23
Speaker 2: and Jelani Woods executed it perfectly. But again, the fact
• 28:28
Speaker 2: they went seven for seven means Alex, I'm gonna be
• 28:32
Speaker 2: asket with you doesn't mean anything to me as far
• 28:35
Speaker 2: as optimism or anything like that.
• 28:37
Speaker 4: Do I think the Jets are gonna be more watchable
• 28:39
Speaker 4: this year? I do the thing. The other thing I liked.
• 28:42
Speaker 4: I liked number two, the overall number two pick.
• 28:45
Speaker 2: David Bailey just shred it. Shred Jones, the Steelers starting
• 28:51
Speaker 2: right tackle. Actually he was held on the play, but
• 28:54
Speaker 2: that didn't stop David Bailey. He still was able to
• 28:58
Speaker 2: sack the quarterback. That's that caught my eye. These exhibition
• 29:05
Speaker 2: game results mean nothing, no matter what ESPN or people
• 29:10
  Speaker 2: want to say.
• 29:13
Speaker 1: I think it might be a sellout next week with
• 29:15
Speaker 1: the Giants and Jets. I've got a feeling that's gonna
• 29:17
Speaker 1: be a sold out crowd because sometimes it's not. Sometimes
• 29:20
Speaker 1: they hit or missed, but with Harball there and then
• 29:22
Speaker 1: you know, maybe Jet fans are enthusia this year.
• 29:24
Speaker 3: I don't know what I have to see.
• 29:26
Speaker 2: Well, let's say I said it's all about twenty seven.
• 29:30
Speaker 2: Because they have the three number one picks. I think
• 29:34
Speaker 2: the Jets gonna be watchable. I don't think they're gonna
• 29:36
Speaker 2: be unwatchable. I think but again, why are they gonna
• 29:40
Speaker 2: win six games? Is it gonna be a quote unquote
• 29:43
Speaker 2: a good six and eleven? Why a good six and eleven?
• 29:46
Speaker 2: That they looked organized, that Aaron Glenn understands clock management
• 29:52
Speaker 2: better than he did last year. It's six and eleven
• 29:55
Speaker 2: good enough for Aaron Glenn to keep his job. I
• 29:58
Speaker 2: don't think so, but I think it might be. But
• 30:01
Speaker 2: I'm going to put something out there. I have a
• 30:03
Speaker 2: feeling there's gonna be a lot of coaches available at
• 30:06
Speaker 2: the end of this season, and I think Kyle Shanahan
• 30:10
Speaker 2: is going to be available. He's been there ten years.
• 30:12
Speaker 2: I'm not saying he's getting fired. They were twelve and
• 30:15
Speaker 2: five last year. The Niners, as you touched base a
• 30:18
Speaker 2: couple of seconds ago, having a very stressful training camp.
• 30:24
Speaker 2: They have a lot of guys hurt, a lot of
• 30:26
Speaker 2: guys hurt who are now older. It takes longer for
• 30:29
Speaker 2: guys to recover. It just might be at the end
• 30:32
Speaker 2: of this this year where Kyle Shanahan says, you know
• 30:35
Speaker 2: what time to go somewhere else. The Jets do have
• 30:38
Speaker 2: three number one draft picks, so that'll be attractive tool
• 30:41
Speaker 2: guy like Shannahan who knows how to develop quarterbacks, because
• 30:44
Speaker 2: the Jets are drafting a quarterback next year, whether they
• 30:49
Speaker 2: use those picks to trade up to get to get
• 30:53
Speaker 2: in the top three, they might be in the top
• 30:55
Speaker 2: three on record anyway, I think Shan's going to be available.
• 31:00
Speaker 4: Mike Tomlin's going to be available.
• 31:04
Speaker 2: I think Marcus Freeman might be available because I think
• 31:07
Speaker 2: Marcus Freeman, especially if No Day wins a championship. I
• 31:11
Speaker 2: heard him interviewed a couple of times recently. He is
• 31:14
Speaker 2: so disgusted what's going on and it's not even college
• 31:17
Speaker 2: sports anymore, whatever you want, whatever you want to label it, uh,
• 31:21
Speaker 2: Triple A Sports, NFL two. He's so disgusted what's going
• 31:26
Speaker 2: on in in college sports. He might be available. I
• 31:29
Speaker 2: would say that would be a long shot.
• 31:31
Speaker 1: I was in Nast for something too, But I'll ask
• 31:33
Speaker 1: you after this point is maybe because of Notre Dame,
• 31:35
Speaker 1: but I want to okay finish.
• 31:38
Speaker 2: I think Kevin O'Connell will be available from the Vikings.
• 31:42
Speaker 2: He might, and he has UH he has close ties
• 31:46
Speaker 2: with with with Moujie the Jets GM, and I think
• 31:49
Speaker 2: maybe if you're looking at a college coach that might
• 31:52
Speaker 2: be available at the INDUS ship, maybe a guy like
• 31:54
Speaker 2: like Lincoln Raleigh at USC. I mean, I see those
• 31:57
Speaker 2: five guys, don't was your thought? The other thing that
• 32:01
Speaker 2: I could see happening if the Cincinnati Bengals have another
• 32:05
Speaker 2: bad year, yeah, Burrow might say, you know what time
• 32:13
Speaker 2: for me to go? He might try to force a trade,
• 32:16
Speaker 2: and I would give I would give.
• 32:18
Speaker 4: All three number ones for Burrow.
• 32:20
Speaker 2: I will give him all three number ones and the
• 32:21
Speaker 2: number two because he's better than anybody who's gonna be drafted.
• 32:25
Speaker 2: And I know there's gonna be a lot of great
• 32:27
Speaker 2: quarterbacks next year and the Jets will get hopefully one
• 32:30
Speaker 2: of them. But that doesn't happen. If the Bengals have
• 32:32
Speaker 2: a bad year, I could see Barrow trying to force
• 32:35
  Speaker 2: his way.
• 32:35
  Speaker 4: Out of there.
• 32:37
Speaker 1: Well, by the way, I mean, unless Aaron Rodgers was
• 32:41
Speaker 1: a little unique thing. But the Jets never go for
• 32:43
Speaker 1: the flashy guy like that, so that'll be interesting if
• 32:45
Speaker 1: they if they do. Now my couple thoughts are though,
• 32:49
Speaker 1: and we'll get to the Giants also, because I I
• 32:51
Speaker 1: do not want to see Jackson Dart on the field today,
• 32:53
Speaker 1: especially after get it rocked last week.
• 32:55
Speaker 3: I just don't risk it. You don't keep him the
• 32:58
Speaker 3: regular agree with you.
• 33:00
Speaker 4: I totally agree with you.
• 33:02
Speaker 1: I mean that hit looked very targeted anyway, but just
• 33:05
  Speaker 1: don't risk it.
• 33:07
Speaker 3: He's your future right there. What do you do? NOK
• 33:09
Speaker 3: about the pre season like that?
• 33:10
  Speaker 4: Do do that?
• 33:11
Speaker 1: But let me ask you this, because you know we
• 33:13
Speaker 1: talk finances and all that, and where I go to
• 33:15
Speaker 1: games and all that. Philly's Braves in September or Notre
• 33:20
Speaker 1: Dame Syracuse in November. I love chasing the travel and
• 33:25
Speaker 1: see the Notre Dame irish because they're very low They've
• 33:28
Speaker 1: been local a little bit compared to other years. So
• 33:30
Speaker 1: what do you think should I invest in?
• 33:32
Speaker 3: Both? Are just the Notre Dame boies?
• 33:33
Speaker 2: Well, well, since since they're not on the same day,
• 33:37
Speaker 2: I would consider investing in both.
• 33:40
  Speaker 4: Now.
• 33:40
Speaker 2: Notre Dame Syracuse is at is at the Carrier Dome
• 33:43
  Speaker 2: is at Syracuse.
• 33:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, there' have been Syracuse and it's only like a
• 33:45
Speaker 1: three four hour drive away from me.
• 33:47
Speaker 2: Yeah, well that might be that. That's a good road trip,
• 33:51
Speaker 2: and I Not Dame is gonna be very good. They're
• 33:53
Speaker 2: gonna be very very good. They are a National Championship
• 33:56
Speaker 2: contender this year. So if you're asking me which one
• 34:00
Speaker 2: the two I'm going to, I'm going to Syracuse, a
• 34:03
Speaker 2: Notre Dame. Ye know, here's the thing, Syracuse and no day.
• 34:08
Speaker 2: You know they're inside, so you know there's not gonna
• 34:10
  Speaker 2: be You're not gonna it's.
• 34:11
Speaker 4: Not a weather issue.
• 34:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would. That's what I would do if
• 34:16
  Speaker 2: you're ascued.
• 34:17
Speaker 1: But you know me, I'm gonna do them both at
• 34:19
Speaker 1: the end of the day. So we'll have to say
• 34:21
Speaker 1: I'm already going. Well, we'll see where I lend to
• 34:24
Speaker 1: next week. So I'm excited for that trip. So we'll
• 34:26
  Speaker 1: see what happens.
• 34:27
Speaker 2: But that'll be exciting. The Cubs one hundred and sixtieth anniversary.
• 34:30
Speaker 3: You know, I'm excited for that.
• 34:31
Speaker 1: But anyway, you know I I just after you mentioned
• 34:36
Speaker 1: O'Connell and the Vikings, I just thought of myself, Man,
• 34:38
Speaker 1: they rock Dart. I don't want to see Dart out
• 34:40
Speaker 1: there the rest of the preseason. He needs to be preserved.
• 34:43
Speaker 1: And you know we're almost there now. Did they cut
• 34:47
Speaker 1: down the preseason to two games or what? Am I
• 34:50
Speaker 1: missing something or something?
• 34:51
Speaker 4: You know, it's three, it's three, it's three.
• 34:53
Speaker 2: It'll eventually be two when they go to the eighteen
• 34:56
Speaker 2: game schedule, which they're going into.
• 34:59
Speaker 1: Because you keep anything, they want to do it by
• 35:00
Speaker 1: President's Day and it still might be a super white President.
• 35:03
Speaker 4: Well I think is it this year or next year?
• 35:08
Speaker 2: Just the way the schedule sets up now it will
• 35:12
Speaker 2: the super Bowl will be on President's Day Sunday, but
• 35:15
Speaker 2: they want to make that, they want to make that
• 35:17
  Speaker 2: an annual thing. This it's I don't and again I
• 35:21
Speaker 2: don't know if it's this February or next February. Super
• 35:25
Speaker 2: Bowl Sunday is on President's Day weekend. So but that's
• 35:29
Speaker 2: going to happen on a permanent basis in a very
• 35:31
  Speaker 2: near future.
• 35:33
Speaker 3: So what would that mean?
• 35:34
Speaker 1: Eight game schedule, but they still have the weekend between
• 35:37
Speaker 1: championship and Super Bowl y.
• 35:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, still yes, they'll push it. They'll push it
• 35:42
Speaker 2: back to President's Weekend where on an annual basis, Like
• 35:46
Speaker 2: I said, I think the way the calendar falls, and
• 35:48
Speaker 2: they think it's next year not this year, you know,
• 35:54
Speaker 2: on President Day weekend naturally, but they're going to do
• 35:57
Speaker 2: it that that's what it's going to be.
• 36:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, well it'll be fascinating for sure.
• 36:04
Speaker 3: What happens this week? All right? This upcoming a couple
• 36:08
  Speaker 3: of years.
• 36:08
Speaker 1: Because as you keep saying, the especially MLB an NFL
• 36:12
Speaker 1: will keep realigning. It seems like so that that's what
• 36:15
Speaker 1: we're seeing time and time again. So we'll see or
• 36:18
Speaker 1: readjusting the schedule, I should say with that stuff. All right,
• 36:23
Speaker 1: speaking of all four sports that we talk about every
• 36:27
Speaker 1: day or every week, we have this discussion on the
• 36:32
Speaker 1: off the air, but I want to bring it on
• 36:33
Speaker 1: the air for a minute. Am I right to say
• 36:35
Speaker 1: that baseball is unlike any other sport where you can
• 36:37
Speaker 1: literally spend a few bucks and watch baseball history any
• 36:41
Speaker 1: given night. I feel like you don't see that with NFL.
• 36:44
Speaker 1: Maybe NHL have to get a hat trick or something
• 36:46
Speaker 1: like that, but all the records seem to be really
• 36:49
Speaker 1: kept in baseball, notice more than other sports, which you
• 36:52
  Speaker 1: agree with.
• 36:53
Speaker 4: That one hundred percent.
• 36:54
Speaker 1: I would agree with that, and the fact that they
• 36:57
Speaker 1: are unique in things like a triple, like a cycle,
• 36:59
Speaker 1: like a no hitter, like a perfect game. You don't
• 37:01
Speaker 1: get that at any other sport.
• 37:02
Speaker 2: Louis Oh, Alex, you're one thousand percent right, even not
• 37:06
Speaker 2: even talking about record, just talking about the fact that
• 37:09
Speaker 2: the game is played without a clock.
• 37:11
Speaker 4: I'll make it real. I'll make it real quick.
• 37:13
Speaker 2: Here on Thursday afternoon, I'm watching the Reds and the Cardinals.
• 37:17
Speaker 2: The Reds are the Reds are up five to four.
• 37:20
Speaker 2: The Cardinals have two runners on top of the ninth
• 37:24
Speaker 2: outfielder drops the fly ball for the Reds. Two runs
• 37:28
Speaker 2: score for the Cardinals. They still they continue the inning.
• 37:33
Speaker 2: They not only score two runs to go up six
• 37:35
Speaker 2: to five, they add four more runes go up ten
• 37:37
  Speaker 2: to five.
• 37:38
Speaker 4: Game over correct well.
• 37:40
Speaker 2: With two outs in the ninth inning, the Reds have
• 37:42
Speaker 2: the bases loaded. They score four runs to make it
• 37:46
Speaker 2: ten to nine, and there was a fly ball to
• 37:51
Speaker 2: right to end the game. The point being, you can't
• 37:54
Speaker 2: ice the puck in baseball. You can't run run out
• 37:59
Speaker 2: the clock in football by just keeping ball on the ground.
• 38:02
Speaker 2: It's a fascinating game historically, record wise, Like you just said, it's.
• 38:09
Speaker 1: Six dollar tickets or whatever and see history for that
• 38:12
  Speaker 1: amount of money.
• 38:13
Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
• 38:15
Speaker 2: Absolutely, it's it's it's so true. You're on hundred percent correct.
• 38:19
Speaker 1: It's fantastic sport and a little Yankee history happened this week.
• 38:24
Speaker 1: Garrett Cole passing Roger Clemens on the old time Yankee
• 38:27
Speaker 1: strikeout list, which I thought was interesting. And you know
• 38:31
Speaker 1: that's coming off a year and what a year and
• 38:33
Speaker 1: a half or so without playing. I mean, he's making
• 38:36
Speaker 1: records this year. It's like he's back. If you and
• 38:38
Speaker 1: I thought it didn't look well, he didn't look as
• 38:41
Speaker 1: in shape, but he looks pretty good now and he's
• 38:43
Speaker 1: been pitching pretty good the last second part of the year.
• 38:45
Speaker 4: So yeah, Alex, I agree with you.
• 38:47
Speaker 2: He doesn't look like he's in shape since he came back,
• 38:50
Speaker 2: but it's not affecting his pitching at all. Bulldog, you know,
• 38:53
Speaker 2: the guy's a bulldog. You know he's an if they
• 38:57
Speaker 2: allowed him, like he's an old style pitcher, if they
• 39:01
Speaker 2: allow him to go eight nine innings, they just don't
• 39:04
  Speaker 2: do it nowadays.
• 39:04
Speaker 3: Oh, Man, Louis School.
• 39:06
Speaker 1: I'm going to miss when Shuss retired, when Cole's retired,
• 39:11
  Speaker 1: Verlander's retiring, right, I mean.
• 39:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you'll never see those guys again.
• 39:15
Speaker 1: Hey, it's part of my childhood, right, Verlanders specifically, and
• 39:18
Speaker 1: then sures Are and then you know Cole watching him
• 39:22
Speaker 1: with the Astros and now coming to the Yankees. I mean,
• 39:25
Speaker 1: you grow up with these guys and they're all leaving
• 39:27
Speaker 1: and the new pictures are just their baby. Look at
• 39:29
  Speaker 1: Paul Sket's he's had a rough year, and I do
• 39:32
Speaker 1: believe it's because the pirates are screwing him up.
• 39:35
Speaker 3: I really believe that, Louie.
• 39:37
  Speaker 2: Well, again, I can't say I disagree with you. I
• 39:41
  Speaker 2: mean I can't. I'm not saying it's for sure. But
• 39:44
Speaker 2: he's lost two miles off his fastball. And this is
• 39:47
Speaker 2: where I agree with Stern's. This is where I do
• 39:50
Speaker 2: agree with David Sterns. I would not get he doesn't
• 39:53
Speaker 2: want to give pictures like eight years and seven years.
• 39:56
  Speaker 4: I don't think he can.
• 39:58
Speaker 2: I think you're screwing you your hay roll when you
• 40:01
Speaker 2: do that, because these guys are.
• 40:02
Speaker 4: Going to get hurt.
• 40:04
Speaker 2: These guys are going to get hurt. Now what schemes
• 40:06
Speaker 2: in his third year?
• 40:08
Speaker 1: And that's probably the thinking of not locking up Schooball
• 40:10
Speaker 1: instead of they went to McGonagall and locked him up
• 40:13
Speaker 1: for eight years or something like that.
• 40:15
  Speaker 2: Absolutely, you're a very good that's a very good point.
• 40:18
Speaker 3: Same with the actually pirates are the same thing. They
• 40:20
Speaker 3: locked up Connor Griffin for all that.
• 40:22
Speaker 4: Yes they did those years. So one last thing if
• 40:27
Speaker 4: it is the last thing, if.
• 40:28
Speaker 1: You have, I'm gonna talk at the moon today, like
• 40:31
Speaker 1: there's just so much we haven't covered yet, Like hockey's
• 40:34
Speaker 1: coming up in a little bit. I know you want
• 40:36
Speaker 1: to talk about that. I'm sure, yeah.
• 40:38
Speaker 2: Well, uh, But the thing that to keep an eye
• 40:41
Speaker 2: on the situation with the majority owner of the Dodgers,
• 40:47
Speaker 2: Mark Walter, under federal investigation. Somebody blew the whistle on
• 40:54
Speaker 2: the sky. I mean, he bought the Lakers less than
• 40:57
Speaker 2: a year ago, like ten months ago, for ten dollars,
• 41:01
Speaker 2: sold them a couple of weeks ago for twelve point
• 41:07
Speaker 2: six billion. Nice profit in ten months. The Lakers had
• 41:10
Speaker 2: been sold three times in sixty six years. I guess
• 41:15
Speaker 2: he needed that cash to pay to pay off some
• 41:19
Speaker 2: other businesses he this guy, this is a big keep
• 41:24
Speaker 2: an eye on this.
• 41:25
Speaker 4: Alex Mark Walter is the.
• 41:27
Speaker 2: Main investor in the pre Premier women's hockey league. He
• 41:30
Speaker 2: owns the Dodgers. You know, he's using money to pay
• 41:34
Speaker 2: off his big loans, you know, Robin Peter, to pay
• 41:38
Speaker 2: Paul you gotta be I don't know if this is
• 41:41
Speaker 2: another Ponzi scheme, but this is a problem. I don't
• 41:46
Speaker 2: know if this is a problem that Major League Baseball
• 41:49
Speaker 2: really wants at this time with the collective Bargaining agreement
• 41:52
Speaker 2: coming out. Again, this is way above my knowledge and
• 41:57
Speaker 2: pay grade. So I'm certainly not the financial guy.
• 42:02
  Speaker 4: But I don't know.
• 42:04
Speaker 2: Did he did he use did he use this money
• 42:07
Speaker 2: to pay off other loans illegally?
• 42:09
  Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know.
• 42:11
Speaker 2: Just something that just something to keep an eye on.
• 42:14
Speaker 2: And remember, Mark Walter now only owns the Dodgers and
• 42:18
Speaker 2: the and the Lakers, and he's the major investor in
• 42:22
Speaker 2: the Premier Women's Hockey League. The Champs of trophy is
• 42:25
Speaker 2: named the Walter Cup with the Walter Trophy after him.
• 42:29
Speaker 2: He also owns Chelsea uh in the Premiere in the
• 42:33
Speaker 2: Premier League Soccer League. He I believe he owns the Sparks.
• 42:38
Speaker 2: He I believe he owns Los Angeles Football Club in MLS.
• 42:42
Speaker 2: This is something I keep an eye on, this Mark
• 42:45
Speaker 2: Walter situation. This could be very very sticky moving forward.
• 42:50
Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm magic Johnson got involved with him,
• 42:53
Speaker 1: right and all that other stuff or what? Oh yeah, yeah,
• 42:55
Speaker 1: so crazy times in l A. And I feel like
• 42:59
Speaker 1: this controversy just fits the bill for what's going on
• 43:04
Speaker 1: in La. It's just crazy right now. So we'll have
• 43:06
Speaker 1: to see, all right, you know what I do want
• 43:08
Speaker 1: to get into because everybody got hyped up seeing Maxie
• 43:11
Speaker 1: and Brown and you know, Lebron together. I guess doing
• 43:16
Speaker 1: some workout or whatever. But Lou, why are the Heat
• 43:19
Speaker 1: not getting much play right now? I mean the Heat
• 43:22
Speaker 1: upgraded too, and I don't I get it. Told Ryan,
• 43:25
Speaker 1: I said, nobody's looking at Giannis and.
• 43:26
Speaker 3: The Heat right now. It's so fascinating. But that was
• 43:28
  Speaker 3: a big.
• 43:28
Speaker 1: Deal, and I think the Heater is gonna be right
• 43:30
Speaker 1: back in contention here with this.
• 43:32
Speaker 2: So well, you're right, they got Giannis. I mean, who's
• 43:36
Speaker 2: not only a great offensive player, is a great defensive player.
• 43:39
Speaker 2: Yes see, he's a little older, but he's still falling
• 43:42
Speaker 2: thirty one. I think he reanogize being down in Miami.
• 43:47
Speaker 2: They have a great coach and last night they saw
• 43:50
Speaker 2: in Klay Thompson to a two year deal. I mean
• 43:53
Speaker 2: it's not the Clay Thompson of his physical prime, but
• 43:55
Speaker 2: the guy still even last year hit thirty eight percent
• 43:59
Speaker 2: of his three points and he will open up the
• 44:01
Speaker 2: floor for fort of bio for for the Greek freak.
• 44:07
  Speaker 4: They'll be good.
• 44:08
Speaker 2: How good, I don't know, but you one thing you
• 44:11
Speaker 2: most of the time, the Heat played better than their
• 44:15
Speaker 2: rosters should play because spotsures are with the coach and
• 44:22
Speaker 2: you know they they always have good chemistry. So yeah,
• 44:25
Speaker 2: they'll be they'll be the East. The East this year
• 44:29
Speaker 2: it's tougher than it's been in the last five years.
• 44:32
Speaker 1: But I'm kind of that by also saying Derosian going
• 44:34
Speaker 1: in the Nuggets adds a little element to the West now.
• 44:37
Speaker 2: Said, no doubt about it. Even though he's thirty seven.
• 44:40
Speaker 2: He's a great mid range jump shooter. Uh so, Uh,
• 44:44
Speaker 2: the Nuggets had cap issues, so they had bringing him
• 44:49
Speaker 2: in for a couple of years.
• 44:50
Speaker 4: I don't think hurts the Nuggets. I don't know what level.
• 44:55
Speaker 2: Of championship level that they are at this stage obviously
• 44:59
Speaker 2: when the season begins, but the East is gonna be
• 45:03
Speaker 2: tougher than it's been in a long while.
• 45:07
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's gonna be a fun thing.
• 45:09
Speaker 1: I think the Knicks are they still got their course,
• 45:11
  Speaker 1: so they'll be okay, I think, I mean they'll they'll
• 45:14
Speaker 1: be up there. You know, it's always funny because they're
• 45:16
Speaker 1: always now say. The thing is, though they get by
• 45:19
Speaker 1: with being a fifth or sixth seed that if in
• 45:22
Speaker 1: the conference, because well it's the Knicks. You better believe
• 45:25
Speaker 1: New York's that I want to be the first how after,
• 45:28
Speaker 1: you know, New York fans are gonna be like, why
• 45:30
Speaker 1: are we in fifth?
• 45:30
Speaker 3: We just won the chip chip, you know what I mean.
• 45:33
Speaker 4: So we'll have to see the only thing.
• 45:35
Speaker 2: The only thing that Knicks have to worry about is
• 45:37
Speaker 2: not don't worry about where Vegas hasm peg. You know,
• 45:43
Speaker 2: as far as repeating, they just gotta do.
• 45:45
Speaker 4: What they do, just gotta. I think they should try
• 45:49
Speaker 4: to play a little bit better in the regular season.
• 45:50
Speaker 2: I think they will because, like I said a couple
• 45:52
Speaker 2: of seconds ago, the East is tougher. So, uh, we'll
• 45:58
Speaker 2: see what happens. I don't know what the Celtics are
• 46:00
Speaker 2: going to look like. I have no idea at this time.
• 46:03
  Speaker 2: I don't know if they're going to be I mean,
• 46:05
Speaker 2: last year they they overachieved when we thought that they
• 46:09
Speaker 2: might be in the plane and they were the second
• 46:11
Speaker 2: seed in the conference. So, you know, because they didn't
• 46:17
Speaker 2: have Tatum until the very end, and so the Celtics
• 46:21
Speaker 2: are interesting that you know, with the trade of Jalen Brown,
• 46:25
Speaker 2: UNSS Paul George as a fountain of youth revival.
• 46:30
Speaker 4: They didn't win that trade in my opinion.
• 46:34
Speaker 3: Well, we'll have to see, all right.
• 46:35
Speaker 1: Two more things crossed my mind before we sign out today.
• 46:38
  Speaker 3: I mean, I mean.
• 46:41
Speaker 1: Two more things. Can we get rid of the joint practices?
• 46:44
Speaker 1: Do you like the joint practices with these teams?
• 46:47
Speaker 2: I'm so glad you brought that up, because that was
• 46:49
Speaker 2: on my notes to talk about and I would have forgot.
• 46:52
Speaker 4: If you're gonna bring it up, let's get rid of the.
• 46:54
Speaker 2: Joint practices that we saw it last week. Jets and
• 46:57
Speaker 2: Buccaneers we saw it. This week, Giant Dolphins we saw
• 47:01
Speaker 2: I guess it was really bad between Dallas and New Orleans.
• 47:06
Speaker 2: With these joint practices, both Dallas and New Orleans will
• 47:11
Speaker 2: find five hundred thousand dollars each by the NFL.
• 47:15
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 47:15
Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know what good comes out of it,
• 47:20
Speaker 2: but you have guys, especially the fringe guys that are
• 47:24
Speaker 2: fighting for their NFL lives, who sometimes might think if
• 47:29
Speaker 2: they're a little aggressive and a little belligerent, somebody will
• 47:33
Speaker 2: take notice. I don't know, but doesn't look like these
• 47:36
Speaker 2: joint practices are you know, are a positive thing. You'd
• 47:41
Speaker 2: have to talk to a coach about it to see
• 47:43
Speaker 2: if they get well.
• 47:45
Speaker 3: They look pretty dumb, to be honest with you, it's
• 47:47
  Speaker 3: pretty dumb.
• 47:48
Speaker 4: I mean it is.
• 47:49
Speaker 2: I mean the Jets and Giants had joint practices. Is
• 47:53
Speaker 2: a couple of years in a row, and they ended
• 47:55
Speaker 2: up in fights. And I think I think one year
• 47:58
Speaker 2: the Jets and the Pan there is a couple of
• 48:00
  Speaker 2: years ago.
• 48:01
Speaker 3: Didn't Day will end up in his fight with someone.
• 48:04
  Speaker 3: I thought, I thought, I said.
• 48:05
Speaker 4: So nice. I think you're right.
• 48:06
Speaker 2: It's it's maybe it's time to put them the pasture.
• 48:10
Speaker 4: And again there's referees.
• 48:12
Speaker 2: There's a referee and a full crew of game officials
• 48:19
Speaker 2: at these at these joint practices.
• 48:21
Speaker 4: But when you get you.
• 48:22
Speaker 2: Know, you got guys who are kicking the crap out
• 48:24
Speaker 2: of each other. There are limitations you can't.
• 48:26
Speaker 1: And it's hot out. People forget about that, and it's hot.
• 48:30
Speaker 4: It's hot. You are correct.
• 48:31
  Speaker 2: I don't I don't know if we need them anymore.
• 48:33
Speaker 2: I don't know if any any good comes out of them.
• 48:36
Speaker 2: I know, I don't know if joint practice.
• 48:38
  Speaker 4: Are worth it.
• 48:39
Speaker 1: I don't think so. I think they just they add
• 48:41
Speaker 1: to theay chaos. There was that, and then the other
• 48:45
Speaker 1: thing I had. I don't know it was in your notes,
• 48:46
Speaker 1: but you know a lot of these. And I'm talking
• 48:48
Speaker 1: about the Yankees here because that's the team I follow
• 48:51
Speaker 1: the most, but maybe it's all teams.
• 48:54
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 48:54
Speaker 1: I'm noticing that when guys are coming back, the guys
• 48:58
Speaker 1: that are afraid they're going to be called down get hotter.
• 49:01
Speaker 1: So Spencer Jones hitting the ball now because I think
• 49:03
Speaker 1: he's a preat he's gonna be sent down. And maybe
• 49:06
Speaker 1: that happens on every team. I don't know if you
• 49:07
Speaker 1: noticed that, but like.
• 49:09
Speaker 2: Well, again I haven't done a study on it, but yes,
• 49:14
Speaker 2: Spencer Jones getting having a couple of good games might
• 49:19
Speaker 2: make it a tough Frost decision for the Yankees as
• 49:23
  Speaker 2: Belgium comes back.
• 49:26
  Speaker 4: Again.
• 49:26
Speaker 2: I don't know they're not going to DFA Ramos because
• 49:29
Speaker 2: he picked up in a second.
• 49:32
Speaker 4: So, yeah, you're right.
• 49:34
Speaker 2: It does make a it does seem that, okay, I
• 49:38
Speaker 2: better get my It's it's like one of a boss
• 49:41
Speaker 2: will will tell you, you know what, you gotta do a
• 49:43
Speaker 2: better job, and then for the next four or five
• 49:46
Speaker 2: weeks we make sure that we have all our tea's
• 49:50
  Speaker 2: crossed and.
• 49:51
  Speaker 4: Our eyes dotted.
• 49:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think the competition sometimes is good and.
• 49:56
Speaker 1: Being a bosses And I don't know really in told
• 49:58
Speaker 1: for saying this, but if water is So was listening
• 50:00
Speaker 1: to us, we'd love to be part of the network.
• 50:03
Speaker 3: Since you guys have.
• 50:04
Speaker 1: Visually acquired our old home lose old home sale media,
• 50:08
  Speaker 1: how about that?
• 50:08
Speaker 3: What a media news this week?
• 50:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that was a big It became official on
• 50:13
Speaker 2: on a Thursday, and uh we'll see how it all
• 50:17
  Speaker 2: shakes out.
• 50:18
Speaker 1: Amen to that, all right, Louis Terminello, always a pleasure.
• 50:21
Speaker 1: Do you have any hockey notes for us? Because it's
• 50:24
Speaker 1: right around the corner. We're literally a week in a
• 50:25
Speaker 1: month away, which is just I never talked about that
• 50:28
Speaker 1: in September, you know, but.
• 50:29
  Speaker 4: Yeah, now it's it's it's crazy.
• 50:32
Speaker 2: Uh nothing U this week?
• 50:35
Speaker 3: I guess, well, the Rangers picked up another defenseman.
• 50:37
Speaker 1: And I tell you, for all the crap I've given
• 50:39
Speaker 1: this guy as yeah, he's making moves, okay, like I've.
• 50:43
Speaker 3: Seen him make the moves this year this summer.
• 50:45
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, we'll close with uh with with a
• 50:50
Speaker 2: hockey note that I was where I was reading the
• 50:53
Speaker 2: other day on the Hockey News, they did they did
• 50:59
Speaker 2: a survey. Unfortunately I missed the survey because I would
• 51:02
Speaker 2: have definitely participated in it, and they kill fans do
• 51:10
Speaker 2: you have confidence in your general manager and front office personnel?
• 51:17
Speaker 2: And the results came out earlier in the week, like
• 51:20
Speaker 2: on Wednesday or Thursday.
• 51:22
  Speaker 4: And number one.
• 51:24
Speaker 2: The Stanley Cup champions their fans have the utmost confidence
• 51:28
Speaker 2: in Carolina. The top seven or eight were all Chalk Tampa.
• 51:35
Speaker 2: You know, all the Dallas Carolina. The only one in
• 51:40
Speaker 2: the top seven or eight that surprised me that was
• 51:43
Speaker 2: new was was the was Utah. Their fans have confidence
• 51:47
Speaker 2: in their general manager and the front office. But here
• 51:51
Speaker 2: is this is where the three local teams fans confidence
• 51:56
Speaker 2: level was. The New Jersey Devils are the three local
• 51:59
Speaker 2: teams the highest, which surprises me since Sunny Meta just
• 52:04
Speaker 2: got there three months ago, and I think their coach,
• 52:08
Speaker 2: Sheldon Sheldon a kif is on the hot seat. But
• 52:12
Speaker 2: they they were thirteenth in a fan confidence for GM
• 52:17
Speaker 2: and front office. The Islanders were twentieth and dead last,
• 52:24
  Speaker 2: and I don't think.
• 52:24
  Speaker 4: He deserves it.
• 52:26
Speaker 2: Was the guy that you that you've been torturing for
• 52:30
Speaker 2: the last two three years was Chris Drury. He was
• 52:34
Speaker 2: thirty seconds and I think he's done a better job
• 52:37
  Speaker 2: than that.
• 52:38
Speaker 4: But that's just me.
• 52:41
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm interesting to see how Dora Fioff does.
• 52:46
Speaker 3: How the draft picks do like I am.
• 52:49
Speaker 1: I mean, I'm actually a little more intrigued in the
• 52:51
Speaker 1: development now because I think you need to develop again
• 52:53
Speaker 1: and just not sorry from scratch, but I feel like
• 52:56
Speaker 1: you almost have to in a sense with everybody that's
• 52:58
Speaker 1: been traded a well, they.
• 52:59
Speaker 2: Got the fifty, they got the fifth overall pick last year.
• 53:02
Speaker 2: Is Alex Smith's going to make the team. I think
• 53:04
Speaker 2: he has a chance to make the team. Uh, coming
• 53:07
Speaker 2: out of training camp.
• 53:09
Speaker 3: But we mentioned Patrick Kane.
• 53:10
Speaker 1: Do you know he got a minute sitting ovation in
• 53:12
Speaker 1: Chicago before he threw the first pitch out.
• 53:14
  Speaker 3: The other day.
• 53:15
Speaker 4: I actually was watching. I saw that that was great.
• 53:18
Speaker 2: Well, they also sang, he also sang take me out
• 53:21
Speaker 2: to the ball game.
• 53:22
  Speaker 3: Look in.
• 53:23
Speaker 1: Then I'm excited. Chicago loves their sports. They love their fans,
• 53:28
Speaker 1: and they just I mean the fans love their sports.
• 53:30
Speaker 1: They they ride or die with them in every sport.
• 53:33
  Speaker 2: It's no, it's a heck, it's a heck of a
• 53:35
Speaker 2: sports town, no doubt about it.
• 53:38
Speaker 1: My kind of town, as mister Sinatra would sing. All right, Louis,
• 53:42
Speaker 1: I can't wait for a week from now that now
• 53:44
Speaker 1: that we're talking about it, to be back in the
• 53:46
Speaker 1: friendly confines will be exciting. So we'll see they will
• 53:50
Speaker 1: do a report life from Chicago. That would because that
• 53:52
  Speaker 1: would be great.
• 53:52
Speaker 2: I would love to do that, you know, or sit outside.
• 53:55
Speaker 2: You know they have those cafes right outside the stadium
• 53:58
Speaker 2: in Wrigleyville, do it from there? Cool?
• 54:02
Speaker 1: All right, terminos take going on the road with me.
• 54:04
  Speaker 4: I love it.
• 54:04
Speaker 1: All right, that's a great week of coverage we just had,
• 54:07
Speaker 1: and we'll see what happens. But yes, to end the show,
• 54:10
Speaker 1: Yang's a week earlier than my thought process of August
• 54:12
Speaker 1: twenty eighth, three games behind. Tell you what if they
• 54:16
Speaker 1: can end enter September ahead the division, A lot of
• 54:20
Speaker 1: things seem more possible. So we'll have to say especially everybody,
• 54:22
Speaker 1: come back, all right, Louis, love you, man, and thanks
• 54:24
Speaker 1: for always being there on one like of Alex Media
• 54:28
Speaker 4: Dak Y Alex always a pleasure
