- 1:06Cassandra: You know there's some that say you know what?
- 1:08Cassandra: I always wanted to write a book, but you've not done it.
- 1:15Cassandra: Or I wanted to change jobs, or I wanted to get a promotion.
- 1:17Cassandra: I want to move, I want to get out of this toxic relationship.
- 1:18Cassandra: Just a number of things, your dreams and all your aspirations, and it's not done.
- 1:24Cassandra: You've not made that move.
- 1:25Cassandra: So that's why this podcast has been created and goes live so that you can start what I would say relate to personal development, personal improvement, even enable you to reflect on some of the things that are being said, that I am always prayerful that it'll be something that will enable you to say, aha, there it is, Somebody reach my soul, reach my heart, and I am ready to make a move on it.
- 1:59Cassandra: So today, our podcast title is titled Sustaining Our Confession, sustaining our confession of faith.
- 2:08Cassandra: And who better to talk about this as my special guest, Dr Sheila Jackson?
- 2:15Cassandra: Dr Sheila, how are you today?
- 2:17Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm great, Cassandra.
- 2:19Dr. Sheila Jackson: Thanks for having me on your podcast.
- 2:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: Thank you.
- 2:23Cassandra: Yes, my honor, it's my honor.
- 2:25Cassandra: Now, one of the things, dr Sheila, that I will do for my audience.
- 2:29Cassandra: I want to read a little bit of your bio so they will have a point of reference and kind of understand, as we do this, have this conversation, to see why we're diving this way or that way based on your background.
- 2:43Cassandra: So Dr Sheila EdD is a transformational leader, educator and minister with over 20 years in the ministry and 15 years in corporate leadership at General Motors.
- 2:59Cassandra: She holds advanced degrees in transformational leadership and business administration and has taught as a business instructor and GED educator.
- 3:10Cassandra: She's the founder of the when Spirits Sow Prophetic School.
- 3:16Cassandra: Dr Jackson has shared prophetic teachings globally, including in Nigeria, and serves with the Prophetic Empowerment Network.
- 3:25Cassandra: She calls it like the PEN that's the acronym for it for she's a devoted mother, grandmother and mentor.
- 3:32Cassandra: She continues to inspire others and her impactful ministry and leadership.
- 3:37Cassandra: So that's a little bit about her, but that's not who she is, and we're going to find out who in the world is Dr Sheila Jackson and kind of talk about her trajectory to get her to where she is today.
- 3:50Cassandra: So, dr Sheila, hey, audience, I'm going to say listeners, dr Sheila, dr Jackson, I'll be all over the place, but I'm going to put it's going to be the Dr Sheila, dr Jackson, just so you'll know.
- 4:01Cassandra: Hey, listen, before you worked for GM, general Motors, as a corporate buyer.
- 4:09Cassandra: What was life like before you even started working in the corporate world?
- 4:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: Wow, I was always ambitious.
- 4:19Dr. Sheila Jackson: I always knew that I wanted to go into business.
- 4:27Dr. Sheila Jackson: I think before General Motors I was a recruiter.
- 4:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: I dabbled in that for a little bit and in fact, how I got into General Motors I, the HR director and I were having a conversation and he asked me.
- 4:55Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said have you ever thought about coming and working for us?
- 4:57Dr. Sheila Jackson: Sheila?
- 4:58Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I never did.
- 5:00Dr. Sheila Jackson: I was doing well, I never did.
- 5:03Cassandra: And.
- 5:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: I thought about it and I thought, and I thought, hmm, hmm, and he said but I'm not sure you'll be happy.
- 5:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said you, you like your independence All right, I like to come and go when I want to set my own hours.
- 5:23Dr. Sheila Jackson: And eventually I said yes, I got hired in December.
- 5:28Dr. Sheila Jackson: Anyone that has ever worked for the automotive industry knows they take a three week shutdown.
- 5:34Dr. Sheila Jackson: So I worked one week and and then we were down for the rest of December.
- 5:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: I thought, ok, I can do this.
- 5:42Dr. Sheila Jackson: I can do this.
- 5:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: I loved it.
- 5:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: It was a challenge, but General Motors was very good to me, extremely good to me.
- 5:56Dr. Sheila Jackson: I thought that I would stay forever.
- 6:01Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh, ok, uh-huh, uh-huh, don't you love it?
- 6:08Dr. Sheila Jackson: The closer I grew in my relationship with him, I discovered the other plan for my life.
- 6:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: And, um, I willingly said yes, you know, I, I had visions of grandeur.
- 6:25Dr. Sheila Jackson: I, I it's still.
- 6:26Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, I had this, this is the plan, God, okay, I'll do this, but this is the it's still.
- 6:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, I had this.
- 6:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: This is the plan.
- 6:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: God, okay, I'll do this, but this is the way it's going to go.
- 6:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: It's to say, so listen.
- 6:36Cassandra: So I'm curious Um, did you have any dreams and aspirations before working for them?
- 6:44Cassandra: No, okay, all right.
- 6:47Cassandra: So all right, fair enough.
- 6:48Cassandra: I had friends that, so all right, fair enough.
- 6:50Dr. Sheila Jackson: I had friends that worked for General Motors, so I knew about General Motors working for them.
- 6:58Dr. Sheila Jackson: I knew that they paid well.
- 7:01Dr. Sheila Jackson: I knew that they paid well.
- 7:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, at that time in my life, at that time in my life, it was all about the dollar, Sure, the dollar.
- 7:10Cassandra: Sure.
- 7:10Cassandra: So yeah, so what inspired you to leave that lucrative job and pursue your passion?
- 7:21Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh, wow.
- 7:21Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, I always would tell my the majority of my friends in my earlier years who were teachers and they used to say, sheila, you are.
- 7:34Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I was like, yeah, no, I'm, I'm not teaching nothing, I don't want to be a teacher.
- 7:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: No absolutely not.
- 7:43Dr. Sheila Jackson: But again, as I allow my relationship with the Lord growing more in love and wanting to do the things that please God, I surrendered what I wanted and was willing to do, what the Lord asked me, and that was to teach you know, to go into to ministry.
- 8:10Dr. Sheila Jackson: And it became a joke with my friends and they would say, Sheila, you always trying to teach somebody something.
- 8:17Dr. Sheila Jackson: We'd ask you one question and you would go step one, step two.
- 8:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: But I never saw that in myself.
- 8:24Dr. Sheila Jackson: I never, ever saw that in myself.
- 8:28Dr. Sheila Jackson: I didn't recognize it was a natural ability coming out of me an innate talent.
- 8:35Cassandra: yeah, yeah, now you know you said something and I know that a lot of and personally I have too.
- 8:42Cassandra: You know you always many for me.
- 8:46Cassandra: I used to say God, what is it that you want me to do?
- 8:50Cassandra: You know I would always say that.
- 8:52Cassandra: And how do you, how do you know what it is that he wants you to do?
- 8:59Cassandra: You know, it's like you know, like like I used to always hear God speaks first, the devil speaks next.
- 9:08Cassandra: You know if he says it first.
- 9:10Cassandra: So what are some ways that people can figure out what it is that God would have them to do?
- 9:19Cassandra: Because, as I indicated before we came on, my mission is to inspire a generation of women to start living their best life on their terms, and what that is is what is it that they're ordained to do?
- 9:32Cassandra: Like you mentioned, we all have a gift, we all have a talent and we're not quite sure what it is really.
- 9:38Cassandra: So tell the listeners.
- 9:40Cassandra: How can one figure out, want to hear what the Lord wants you to do?
- 9:58Dr. Sheila Jackson: You have to believe God is a good father, that he loves you and that there's nothing he won't do to get you to the place where not only he is happy but you will be happy.
- 10:15Dr. Sheila Jackson: And for me, as a believer, that's a place of prayer.
- 10:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: So that's how I started off.
- 10:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: I started off building a relationship with prayer and the Lord told me.
- 10:28Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said I want you to be consistent.
- 10:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said that's the key, and recognizing my voice versus anyone else's voice.
- 10:39Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said be consistent.
- 10:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: So if you tell me you're going to meet me in prayer Monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday then I'm going to expect you to be there Monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday and Friday.
- 10:56Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said I want you to talk to me first and then I want you to learn to be quiet and wait on me to speak to you.
- 11:26Dr. Sheila Jackson: I want you to expect me to speak to you.
- 11:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: And that's what I did.
- 11:33Dr. Sheila Jackson: I started a prayer, disciplined life and I would commune with God Monday through Friday, consistently the same time.
- 11:45Dr. Sheila Jackson: So it's not haphazardly.
- 11:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I'm questioning is this God, is this me?
- 11:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: I began that and then I began to get into the word more.
- 11:58Dr. Sheila Jackson: Instead of being a spoon fed Christian, I decided OK, I'm going to take responsibility for learning the word of God so I'll know when the enemy's trying to trick me.
- 12:10Dr. Sheila Jackson: Does it align with scripture?
- 12:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: Can I find God's principle or God's word, doing and saying the same thing?
- 12:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: And if I can do that, it becomes a check and a balance.
- 12:24Dr. Sheila Jackson: One example I told my son I remember when he hit teenage years and he wanted to stop calling me mom in public and call me Sheila, and I said absolutely not.
- 12:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said why we're out in public.
- 12:39Dr. Sheila Jackson: All the moms are going to turn their head.
- 12:42Cassandra: I said I know your voice.
- 12:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: I said I know your voice because I spent time with you.
- 12:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: I spent time.
- 12:50Dr. Sheila Jackson: I said it doesn't matter how far you're away, I know how you talk.
- 12:54Dr. Sheila Jackson: I know the dictions of certain words.
- 12:57Dr. Sheila Jackson: I know your tone and it's the same way I'm getting to know God's voice.
- 13:01Dr. Sheila Jackson: You spend enough time in relationship.
- 13:04Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know God's voice.
- 13:08Dr. Sheila Jackson: It becomes easier and easier.
- 13:11Dr. Sheila Jackson: It's like talking to your favorite person on the phone.
- 13:19Cassandra: Yeah, they could call you from a different phone.
- 13:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: a different phone number, but you know their voice Exactly, and so you're not shaken when, if a different number pops up, because you know their voice.
- 13:28Cassandra: You know the voice.
- 13:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: There's a relationship over time Wow.
- 13:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, it's the same way.
- 13:40Dr. Sheila Jackson: God will make sure that you are very secure that it is him talking to you, it is him giving you directions in your life and you become more confident, you have more, greater faith and trust that he's not going to allow you to be led astray.
- 13:56Dr. Sheila Jackson: Allow you, particularly in a baby, in our infancy stage, when we're learning that's a good, good parent, that's what good parents do.
- 14:05Dr. Sheila Jackson: They guard us on that journey until we're strong enough to be able to make a decision.
- 14:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: No, that's not God.
- 14:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: That's me.
- 14:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: No, that's not God, that's demonic voices.
- 14:19Cassandra: Okay, that's like the title sustaining our confession of faith.
- 14:23Cassandra: Yeah Right, you know you said something that is so true.
- 14:29Cassandra: That is so true when I asked the question how do you know what it is that God would have you to do?
- 14:38Cassandra: And you said if you really want to know.
- 14:40Cassandra: I mean really want to know.
- 14:42Cassandra: You got to ask them and you got to spend time with it, you know.
- 14:45Cassandra: And then you want to have that commitment.
- 14:48Cassandra: You're like, okay, all right.
- 14:50Cassandra: And I have this chapter in my book and the title of that chapter is Dear Women who questioned whether there was a God.
- 15:04Cassandra: And in that chapter it was very interesting how God revealed to me in that chapter how real he was.
- 15:15Cassandra: So you know, and at the end of the chapter I kind of do a synopsis of what God says and one of the things he said if you are open to really want to know me, try me.
- 15:29Cassandra: But you have to be open.
- 15:32Cassandra: And when you said that, that just resonated with me and, I'm certain, with many of my listeners, like, do you really want to live your life as you are ordained to do so.
- 15:44Cassandra: Because I always say we're not here just to be here.
- 15:48Cassandra: We have a reason why we are here.
- 15:51Cassandra: And once we identify that, that's when your soul will be at rest, that's when you have peace and things can change over time.
- 16:00Cassandra: So I loved it when you said, okay, god said you got to be consistent.
- 16:03Cassandra: First of all, you want to pray and I'm going to pray Monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, so you know.
- 16:10Cassandra: So what confirmed that you are doing the right thing?
- 16:18Cassandra: What was the?
- 16:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: confirmation, kept finding myself in ministries teaching everyone.
- 16:28Dr. Sheila Jackson: So you know, it didn't matter the church I was in.
- 16:34Dr. Sheila Jackson: I would always be asked would you teach, do you mind teaching?
- 16:37Dr. Sheila Jackson: Going through teachers, training, ok, the very thing that I didn't want to do.
- 16:42Dr. Sheila Jackson: People recognize the gift I did.
- 16:46Dr. Sheila Jackson: Okay, that's good.
- 16:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: Because my value system is I'm going where the money is Right yes.
- 16:54Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm going where the money is.
- 16:55Dr. Sheila Jackson: And God had to.
- 16:58Dr. Sheila Jackson: The love for him became greater than what I.
- 17:02Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know.
- 17:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: I was willing to trust him enough because I was falling in love.
- 17:08Dr. Sheila Jackson: No different in the natural.
- 17:09Dr. Sheila Jackson: The more we fall in love with, you know what they do like.
- 17:16Cassandra: Yeah.
- 17:17Dr. Sheila Jackson: Love.
- 17:17Dr. Sheila Jackson: You Trust them.
- 17:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: You trust them.
- 17:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: They've got your best interests at heart, and so I began to trust God that he had my best interests at heart.
- 17:27Dr. Sheila Jackson: He wasn't going to lead me astray.
- 17:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: And other people began to confirm no, you were born to this, you were born to teach, and I fell in love with teaching.
- 17:38Dr. Sheila Jackson: I fell in love with teaching, I acknowledge.
- 17:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh man, I love this I love this.
- 17:44Cassandra: That is a beautiful testament, wow.
- 17:46Cassandra: Well, look, I know, because of the relationship I have with God, as you're rewarded, and I'd like to know you know the people that you have witnessed to what are some of the rewards of witnessing the God you only read about.
- 18:11Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh, my gosh.
- 18:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: God has blessed me tremendously to be a spiritual mom and a mentor, and I've watched people grow in God, grow in love with God, find out what they were created to do.
- 18:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: I've watched and witnessed God use me in miraculous intervention, praying for healing, giving a word of knowledge or a word of wisdom, and so the more I yielded and gained knowledge about the very giftings and what the Lord wanted me to do, he allowed me to see the manifestation of those things in other people and it has been a tremendous honor, a tremendous I'm in awe.
- 19:04Dr. Sheila Jackson: A tremendous honor, a tremendous, I'm in awe.
- 19:07Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, last year I did my first crusade in Africa and it bought me to my knees.
- 19:15Dr. Sheila Jackson: I had never, ever experienced 10,000 people hungry for the word.
- 19:20Cassandra: Wow.
- 19:21Dr. Sheila Jackson: And to think that God would allow me to be a part of it, that he would sustain my life, he would lead and guide me, even when my decision was I don't want to go left.
- 19:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: I don't want to go left, Like no, no, you're going left.
- 19:42Cassandra: Yeah.
- 19:43Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, allow me to witness that.
- 19:47Dr. Sheila Jackson: So it has been an honor to watch people blossom, because I know what it is to be hungry, to want something, to want to be validated, to want to be recognized, to want to see the promises of God, to really want to see what the word says Not just saying, I'm not just talking it but God allows you to witness.
- 20:16Dr. Sheila Jackson: There's nothing greater than that, nothing, right, right.
- 20:22Cassandra: Do you have a story of someone that you witnessed to, where you've seen the miraculous?
- 20:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh God, yes, Could you share one of those?
- 20:33Dr. Sheila Jackson: Well, you know, I'll give my own personal first.
- 20:39Dr. Sheila Jackson: So I've had been diagnosed with cancer twice and the first time I used to have a running joke with the Lord because cancer was what tried to destroy my lineage.
- 20:59Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I used to have a running joke with the Lord no knife is cutting on these, no knife.
- 21:05Dr. Sheila Jackson: I didn't know.
- 21:09Dr. Sheila Jackson: I was establishing faith right then.
- 21:11Dr. Sheila Jackson: I was just telling the Lord because I didn't have a scripture.
- 21:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: I used to just say, lord, and no knife cutting here, no, no knife.
- 21:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: And a year before they diagnosed the first time, the Lord told me to go to this healing school and sit up under this pastor for one year.
- 21:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: He had a healing ministry and he taught people how to build your faith to believe.
- 21:35Cassandra: And.
- 21:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: I went, didn't know, the following year I would get a diagnosis and I discovered the love I had on a wool dress and I just happened to rub my arm.
- 21:47Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know that's got.
- 21:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: You got a wool.
- 21:49Dr. Sheila Jackson: You can't usually feel alone, right?
- 21:51Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I heard the spirit of the Lord say go to the doctor.
- 21:55Dr. Sheila Jackson: I went to the doctor, but before then I'm standing in praise and worship at my sir at the church and I hear the spirit of God say if you stand on my word, I'm going to heal you.
- 22:08Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said I'll heal you if you stand on my word.
- 22:11Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said watch your words, watch your words.
- 22:17Cassandra: Okay.
- 22:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: And so I did exactly what God told me to do.
- 22:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: I stood on the word.
- 22:23Dr. Sheila Jackson: I found a scripture on healing and I began to say it to my own body.
- 22:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: I began to say it to my own body.
- 22:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: I asked the Holy Spirit to watch.
- 22:34Dr. Sheila Jackson: Let me hear every time I was saying something that went against the very prayer that I was saying.
- 22:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: So I had to watch my casual conversation when people would say I would share with certain people, and they would say, well, Sheila, how you doing?
- 22:50Dr. Sheila Jackson: What's the doctor saying?
- 22:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: I tell people.
- 22:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: I had to learn to say what the doctor said, but God said, but God said that's right.
- 22:58Dr. Sheila Jackson: And people would think you know, okay, right, but I didn't care.
- 23:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: You have to get to a point that you don't care.
- 23:06Dr. Sheila Jackson: And so God, miraculously, miraculously, healed me.
- 23:11Dr. Sheila Jackson: I couldn't even tell you when the lump disappeared.
- 23:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: I went to the because I had to go through all the all the testing.
- 23:20Cassandra: I had to ask you that.
- 23:21Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, had to walk through all of that.
- 23:23Dr. Sheila Jackson: Had to walk through all of that.
- 23:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: Even God was allowing.
- 23:53Dr. Sheila Jackson: Jackson, you're always smiling when you come in here.
- 23:55Dr. Sheila Jackson: God's allowing me to be a witness because if I'm going to stand on his word, I got to walk like it.
- 24:02Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, and she said she said before she caught herself.
- 24:06Dr. Sheila Jackson: She said I don't see anything, she's not, wasn't supposed to tell me.
- 24:09Dr. Sheila Jackson: The surgeon was supposed to tell me.
- 24:11Dr. Sheila Jackson: Okay, she caught herself.
- 24:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: She said oh no, but wait, wait, wait until wait until the doctor comes in and he'll, you know, he'll go over with you.
- 24:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: I knew right then God had already done it and you had chemo and all of that.
- 24:25Dr. Sheila Jackson: I didn't have to go through chemo.
- 24:27Dr. Sheila Jackson: Didn't have to do that, really, wow.
- 24:29Dr. Sheila Jackson: Didn't have to go through any of that.
- 24:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: I stood on the word of God.
- 24:34Cassandra: Yes.
- 24:35Dr. Sheila Jackson: Every time I meditated on God's word so I can paint a picture in my own heart.
- 24:42Dr. Sheila Jackson: I had to be fully persuaded.
- 24:45Dr. Sheila Jackson: Paint a picture in my own heart.
- 24:49Dr. Sheila Jackson: I had to be fully persuaded, I had to make sure that my mouth wasn't saying what the enemy was trying to tell me.
- 24:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: Your mother had it, your aunt had it, your grandmother had it.
- 24:58Cassandra: It's in the family genetic right.
- 25:02Dr. Sheila Jackson: Even well-intentioned believers Welled.
- 25:06Dr. Sheila Jackson: They had good intentions, but they weren't.
- 25:09Dr. Sheila Jackson: They weren't willing to fight or go through what God had told me.
- 25:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: He told me you know, everybody has their own process.
- 25:17Dr. Sheila Jackson: I said no knife.
- 25:19Cassandra: God said okay, no knife means no knife.
- 25:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: That means I had to stand to say no, no, I'm right.
- 25:25Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm not going through surgery.
- 25:27Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm not going through none of that, so that was the first time, then 2018, it came back again.
- 25:34Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh my, and I used to have a girlfriend at the time she's gone on to be with the Lord and I would call her and I said girl, let's come back.
- 25:43Dr. Sheila Jackson: I need you to go before the Lord.
- 25:45Dr. Sheila Jackson: Our running joke was I need you to get in sackcloth and ashes.
- 25:48Cassandra: So yeah, I was serious.
- 25:50Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, he said OK, I'm going into prayer.
- 25:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: She went into prayer.
- 25:53Dr. Sheila Jackson: She came back within a couple of days.
- 25:56Dr. Sheila Jackson: She said God said the same anointing that healed you the first time is the same anointing that's going to heal you the second time.
- 26:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I said that's all I need and I was ready to fight.
- 26:15Dr. Sheila Jackson: So I geared up, ready to fight again the enemy that was trying to bring it back to this body.
- 26:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: When I said no knife, I had to stand my ground, stand my ground.
- 26:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: I ended up having the same tech that saw me the first time was the same tech that saw me the second time.
- 26:27Dr. Sheila Jackson: That's God.
- 26:28Dr. Sheila Jackson: He was strategically positioning me.
- 26:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: So even when the surgeon came back, he said Miss Jackson, I can't explain this.
- 26:39Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said you know, I don't.
- 26:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: He was stumbling for his words.
- 26:43Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said do you know what I saw?
- 26:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, god healed me.
- 26:45Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said yeah, yeah.
- 26:46Dr. Sheila Jackson: I said no, no, he got healed, god healed me.
- 26:49Dr. Sheila Jackson: So I had to learn if I'm going to, if I'm going to.
- 26:53Dr. Sheila Jackson: Healing looks different to everybody, but I wanted to see the miraculous power of God.
- 27:09Dr. Sheila Jackson: That was where I stood my ground, and so it was from there.
- 27:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: God would give me a word of knowledge about someone that was having a sickness in their body, and I would pray about it and I would watch God heal them instantly.
- 27:27Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, so he taught me he is a healer.
- 27:31Cassandra: Yes.
- 27:33Dr. Sheila Jackson: And that God's best, that is, that we witness the word.
- 27:38Dr. Sheila Jackson: I don't want to just hear the word keep telling who God is, but I'm not.
- 27:43Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm not witnessing it.
- 27:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: That's not scripture, that's not the fullness of the word being manifested.
- 27:50Dr. Sheila Jackson: Well, if it's not being manifested, where's the hold up?
- 27:55Cassandra: Right, exactly.
- 27:57Cassandra: So, you are living, walking testimony.
- 28:01Cassandra: So what a man thinketh is who he is Right.
- 28:05Cassandra: So we know how powerful that is, oh my God, and when I think about it, when I think about it, it's so good to be amongst individuals that are like-minded and those you have to know.
- 28:28Cassandra: You know, I.
- 28:29Cassandra: I remember when, um, um, the disciples were, uh, was it bothameus?
- 28:36Cassandra: I can't remember letting him down on the roof.
- 28:38Cassandra: He, he needed to be here yes, right, and then?
- 28:42Cassandra: there were other individuals in the room that says, yeah, right, god had to get them out because he didn't want anybody around him or them.
- 28:51Dr. Sheila Jackson: That would be the same way with us.
- 28:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: Exactly.
- 28:53Dr. Sheila Jackson: You've got to know who's around you when you're fighting your biggest battle.
- 28:59Cassandra: Yes.
- 29:00Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes.
- 29:01Cassandra: Yes, that's so true, my sustaining, sustaining our confession of faith.
- 29:06Cassandra: Listen, um, um I you.
- 29:13Cassandra: Sharing that story reminded me of a friend of mine who was a strong believer as well, and she said I shall not die but live.
- 29:23Cassandra: Okay, she started out with breast cancer and God took her and I was devastated, and I've talked to individuals that get angry because, like you're talking, well, he did it for her, but he didn't do it for me.
- 29:39Cassandra: It's like, okay, I'm seeking him, I'm asking for his anointing, his help to help me start doing what it is that he's called me to do.
- 29:51Cassandra: They're doing it for them, but they didn't do it for me.
- 29:54Cassandra: So then they become discouraged.
- 29:57Cassandra: What would you tell my listeners that have gone through those situations or experienced them?
- 30:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I, you know I have.
- 30:04Dr. Sheila Jackson: I have two.
- 30:05Dr. Sheila Jackson: I've lost some very dear friends.
- 30:08Dr. Sheila Jackson: One of the things that the Lord told me he said you're in a war and there are casualties of war.
- 30:15Dr. Sheila Jackson: There are always casualties of war, and so that stuck with me.
- 30:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: I also believe that we don't know why it did not happen.
- 30:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, I've had friends that I thought, oh my God, they were strong in God, da, da da.
- 30:38Dr. Sheila Jackson: You don't know why.
- 30:40Dr. Sheila Jackson: That's where trust comes in.
- 30:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: I don't like it, god, but I trust you.
- 30:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: It don't feel good to me, but I trust you.
- 30:47Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know there are going to be casualties of war and just as they're casualties of war, god's going to make sure that his word is validated.
- 31:01Dr. Sheila Jackson: Lost a great mentor and a great friend that way.
- 31:07Dr. Sheila Jackson: One of the reasons so she had been a two-time cancer person also, and last time it came back she was ashamed and prideful, didn't want people to know and she kept it, even from me, and the lord told me don't you say a word, because he was trying to let her see pride.
- 31:26Dr. Sheila Jackson: When you open break laws, you break the laws of God, but then you expect God will not break the law for anyone.
- 31:38Cassandra: Right no respect of person.
- 31:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, Two weeks before everything got real bad, I had called her because she had cut off all of our relationship.
- 31:49Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, and I called her and I knew it and the Lord said, and pain me, I couldn't say anything because the Lord said, no, don't say anything.
- 31:57Dr. Sheila Jackson: And it was probably a week later.
- 32:02Dr. Sheila Jackson: She called me.
- 32:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: She said I've got cancer.
- 32:05Dr. Sheila Jackson: I said I've been knowing that but the Lord wouldn't let me say anything.
- 32:09Dr. Sheila Jackson: And the Lord told me he said pride kept her in bondage.
- 32:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: She would not ask for help because you wanted her name.
- 32:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, I said make your name of no reputation.
- 32:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: It's God's name.
- 32:23Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know you've got to be in a place.
- 32:26Dr. Sheila Jackson: You don't care what nobody thinks, Right, you don't care what nobody, what they know what they're talking about.
- 32:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: You ain't got time for that.
- 32:35Dr. Sheila Jackson: That's low level thinking, you know, and so you cannot be concerned.
- 32:42Dr. Sheila Jackson: You have, I've made up my mind, God.
- 32:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: They didn't survive it, but I'm going to be a witness.
- 32:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: You keep saying, okay, you tell God, you pour out your heart, all of those things, and then, once you spit out all of that, then you glorify his name because he's still God, he's still God, he's still in the miraculous business, he still can make a way out of no way.
- 33:07Dr. Sheila Jackson: And you have to decide.
- 33:08Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm going, god, use me.
- 33:10Dr. Sheila Jackson: Use me to show other people that it is possible.
- 33:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: No, it didn't happen.
- 33:15Dr. Sheila Jackson: I can't change that but I can tell a different story.
- 33:19Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, yeah, yeah and so we all have that decision.
- 33:23Dr. Sheila Jackson: Tell a different story, because we only have one enemy, that's the devil.
- 33:28Dr. Sheila Jackson: God didn't bring that sickness.
- 33:30Dr. Sheila Jackson: God didn't, didn't do that.
- 33:33Dr. Sheila Jackson: We equate that.
- 33:34Dr. Sheila Jackson: God no, no.
- 33:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: God said no, no, that was not my doing.
- 33:38Dr. Sheila Jackson: I tell people you can't live even unhealthy lives and then all of expect the word to do miraculous things.
- 33:47Dr. Sheila Jackson: God gives you wisdom.
- 33:49Dr. Sheila Jackson: You break laws.
- 33:50Dr. Sheila Jackson: You break laws.
- 33:52Dr. Sheila Jackson: There are consequences.
- 33:54Dr. Sheila Jackson: You break down the defenses in the body.
- 33:56Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know all of us have generational curses of some kind of sickness.
- 34:02Dr. Sheila Jackson: You got to draw the line and say not here not here.
- 34:07Dr. Sheila Jackson: Not only speaking it, but I'm doing the things that I need to do in the natural.
- 34:12Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, so we're ensure that it doesn't come near my dwelling.
- 34:17Dr. Sheila Jackson: And so if it means I've got to give up cookies, if it means I've got to exercise and that's what the Lord he said do your part.
- 34:26Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, that's right, I'll do my part.
- 34:30Dr. Sheila Jackson: Faith without works is big.
- 34:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh my God.
- 34:33Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, you know we want to live as believers.
- 34:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: Um, by miracles.
- 34:38Dr. Sheila Jackson: Miracles aren't for the believers.
- 34:40Dr. Sheila Jackson: God will give us, but they're not a way, a lifestyle for us.
- 34:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: They're for the unbeliever.
- 34:46Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm supposed to believe as a believer, yes, yeah, why that's interesting?
- 34:50Cassandra: yeah, because, dr sheila, I was reading my devotions this morning and was talking about adversity.
- 34:59Cassandra: Another way of looking at it is it's a way of lifting you higher to what it is that God would have us to do.
- 35:08Cassandra: And I think about some of my guests who had death in the family moms, you know, unexpected death but out of that they're doing something amazing because of that traumatic, heartbreaking experience.
- 35:23Cassandra: So if you, if you, what do they say?
- 35:26Cassandra: If you faint?
- 35:27Cassandra: Not, that's the thing, right there.
- 35:30Cassandra: I mean because there are struggles in life.
- 35:33Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said it was that's life In this world.
- 35:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: You're going to have trouble.
- 35:37Cassandra: Yeah, but if you faint not, that's the whole thing, if you faint not, and so with that, um, we talked a bit about so.
- 35:48Cassandra: So people like, okay, so how can I hear from God?
- 35:53Cassandra: How?
- 35:53Cassandra: So how can I hear from God?
- 35:54Cassandra: How, how do I hear?
- 35:55Cassandra: And you talked about reading and studying and praying and how God knows our voice, you know.
- 36:04Cassandra: So tell my listeners again, how can they hear from God?
- 36:10Cassandra: It's not a cookie cutter thing.
- 36:12Cassandra: It will not happen overnight.
- 36:13Cassandra: Now, new babes I remember when I became a new babe in christ, stuff was happening like oh my gosh, god, he saved me from this, he did me this, I got this great, I got this.
- 36:24Cassandra: And then one day he took me off the mill.
- 36:27Cassandra: Yeah, and man, oh man, oh man, oh man.
- 36:31Cassandra: So just share with my listeners.
- 36:34Cassandra: How does someone, how can they hear from?
- 36:40Dr. Sheila Jackson: God.
- 36:40Dr. Sheila Jackson: I think there are many ways we can hear Personally.
- 36:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: You have to develop your own personal relationship with the Lord, and that comes through reading and studying the word and in prayer.
- 36:58Dr. Sheila Jackson: There are spiritual principles that strengthen us in our spiritual walk.
- 37:05Dr. Sheila Jackson: The Bible says how can they hear without a preacher?
- 37:09Dr. Sheila Jackson: I must now put myself in a position as a student, learning, going back to school and allowing the spirit of the Lord to assign me to a teacher, someone that's teaching the gospel.
- 37:25Dr. Sheila Jackson: That what I am hearing from someone that has the knowledge and the experience to help me grow because I'm not a teacher this is out of my, this is out of my lane.
- 37:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: I can't teach what I don't know.
- 37:38Dr. Sheila Jackson: And so I must now humble myself consistently, you know, sit up under who the spirit of the Lord is leading and guiding me, you know, and that means being a part of church.
- 37:53Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, you can't, you know.
- 37:56Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, the Internet is wonderful and fine, but you must be around like believers, because they're going to help you grow too.
- 38:05Cassandra: You talk to me, girl.
- 38:06Cassandra: Get off that Internet Right.
- 38:09Cassandra: Be amongst the people.
- 38:10Cassandra: Fellowship, yes.
- 38:12Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, you give out and you receive.
- 38:15Dr. Sheila Jackson: And that's the iron, sharpening iron.
- 38:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: So I learn a scripture.
- 38:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: Then the teacher, the Holy Spirit, says now I got to see if you know that scripture.
- 38:25Dr. Sheila Jackson: So he places us with people.
- 38:27Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, you know, I tell people.
- 38:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: It's like learning your timetables.
- 38:34Dr. Sheila Jackson: You don't know two times two is four, consistently, until you put in a position to practice it.
- 38:39Dr. Sheila Jackson: You don't know love is until you're put in position to practice it.
- 38:44Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, patience is until you put in position to practice.
- 38:48Cassandra: Yes.
- 38:49Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, and so it is those spiritual disciplines reading and studying the word, prayer, meditation, meditation helps us to paint a picture on our heart.
- 39:02Dr. Sheila Jackson: And then our confession, making our confession of faith daily.
- 39:08Dr. Sheila Jackson: Why?
- 39:10Dr. Sheila Jackson: Because I'm painting a new reality.
- 39:13Dr. Sheila Jackson: I didn't get where, where I am in negative behavior, negative speech, overnight, so now I've got to be willing to take the time to relearn some things, learn, learn different, learn some new stuff.
- 39:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: Exactly, exactly what it is, what does it mean to be a child of God, what it is to be a part of God's kingdom?
- 39:39Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, it's no different than moving from one country to another country.
- 39:43Dr. Sheila Jackson: Every country has their own laws.
- 39:45Dr. Sheila Jackson: Well, if I'm in the kingdom of God, I've got to know what the laws are in God's kingdom.
- 39:51Cassandra: How do?
- 39:51Dr. Sheila Jackson: I rule my life.
- 39:53Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know how do I?
- 39:54Dr. Sheila Jackson: How do I know if I'm doing the right thing?
- 39:57Dr. Sheila Jackson: Cause the world could say black is blue and if I'm not careful I'm so used to going along with the majority I said well, you know it could be, and no one said no, no, black is black.
- 40:09Cassandra: That's right.
- 40:10Dr. Sheila Jackson: It's black.
- 40:11Dr. Sheila Jackson: So that's the renewing our mind.
- 40:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know, consecration and um, setting myself apart to learn everything that I need to learn why?
- 40:22Dr. Sheila Jackson: Because I want the success life that god says that is to be mine, not just for us, but for our family right.
- 40:32Cassandra: It's like if you don't stand for something, you'll stand for anything.
- 40:36Dr. Sheila Jackson: Oh my gosh.
- 40:37Cassandra: Yes, yes, I tell you, Dr Sheila Jackson.
- 40:43Cassandra: What I want to say is thank you for your word, Thank you for the anointing that has come across these airways.
- 40:52Cassandra: And just imagine the other individuals that aren't listening now but will listen on and on as time goes on.
- 41:01Cassandra: And this is what I'll say If you are in a place my audience and my listeners that you, just you know, you know that it is something that you should be doing and you need help doing it.
- 41:17Cassandra: And then, when you get to the point where you're like sick and tired of being where you are, do what Dr Shields talked about today Get to know the Lord, read his word, meditate on it, study it, and don't say you don't have time, because, guess what?
- 41:38Cassandra: God is a redeemer.
- 41:40Cassandra: I know for myself he is a redeemer of time.
- 41:44Cassandra: So I ask you, what do you have to lose?
- 41:48Cassandra: Yeah, Try it.
- 41:50Cassandra: You know what do you have to lose?
- 41:54Cassandra: And that's kind of when I said, that's what I said in my book dear women, have you ever questioned whether there was a God?
- 42:02Cassandra: You may not say it out loud because you don't want people to think that.
- 42:06Cassandra: but I said it out loud, because I questioned, because, as Dr Sheila said, we all go through trials and tribulations and sometimes things will get so tough and so rough.
- 42:18Cassandra: And that's why I said what do you have to lose?
- 42:20Cassandra: Just try him.
- 42:22Cassandra: Dr Sheila, how can my so?
- 42:28Cassandra: Okay, you're a teacher.
- 42:31Cassandra: You travel country to Africa to teach.
- 42:35Cassandra: What is it?
- 42:38Cassandra: What service could my listeners that are interested in you and the things that you stand for, how could they get in touch with you?
- 42:48Cassandra: And when they do, what can they expect?
- 43:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: expect.
- 43:03Dr. Sheila Jackson: I am on Facebook under Joshua 2715.
- 43:06Dr. Sheila Jackson: That's my Facebook name.
- 43:07Dr. Sheila Jackson: My ministry is also under when Spirit Soul.

- 43:24Dr. Sheila Jackson: My niche in the kingdom is to teach spiritual maturity.
- 43:32Dr. Sheila Jackson: I teach about the gift of the prophetic, but the bulk of what I teach is how to grow up in God.
- 43:41Dr. Sheila Jackson: How to grow up in God.
- 43:43Dr. Sheila Jackson: Grow up in God, yes.
- 43:45Cassandra: Beautiful.
- 43:46Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yes, Beautiful, I love it.
- 43:47Dr. Sheila Jackson: One of the things let me share, Cassandra, that the Lord told me and he's been reiterating it for the last three years that if you want something you never had, you've got to be willing to do what you have yet to do.
- 44:01Dr. Sheila Jackson: And so, for the listening audience, when you really want something you've never had, you're willing to go the extra, the extra you know to get it.
- 44:14Dr. Sheila Jackson: You know we all can have an excuse.
- 44:18Dr. Sheila Jackson: Don't listen to that report.
- 44:20Dr. Sheila Jackson: We already listened to our own soul.
- 44:23Dr. Sheila Jackson: We've already listened to the enemy.
- 44:25Dr. Sheila Jackson: Believe me, I told the lord lord you know how old I am.
- 44:28Dr. Sheila Jackson: He said I don't need you to tell me how old.
- 44:31Dr. Sheila Jackson: You are Right, Because I know, I know that's right.
- 44:35Cassandra: I can restore you.
- 44:37Dr. Sheila Jackson: I'm the keeper of you.
- 44:38Dr. Sheila Jackson: Do your part and I will ensure that you live out what I've called you to do in the earth.
- 44:45Dr. Sheila Jackson: And I continue to be amazed.
- 44:48Dr. Sheila Jackson: And you know, let God take a risk that cannot fail on God.
- 44:54Dr. Sheila Jackson: Take a risk.
- 44:57Dr. Sheila Jackson: He will never fail you.
- 44:59Dr. Sheila Jackson: He will never fail you.
- 45:02Dr. Sheila Jackson: You keep saying that to yourself.
- 45:05Dr. Sheila Jackson: God, she said you won't fail me.
- 45:07Dr. Sheila Jackson: Yeah, right, and watch God, watch God.
- 45:14Cassandra: Yes, wow, wow, wow.
- 45:16Cassandra: This was very encouraging and, like I said, anointed, and I am so grateful for your presence.
- 45:24Cassandra: You're speaking into the airways to my listeners and I know, I know it's something you've said that has resonated with somebody, some bodies that are listening, and for my audience, I got always say you know how to get in touch with Dr Sheila and I always pray that you will get something from this podcast and I ask you if in fact, you've enjoyed it and you want more of it, click I like it and click subscribe and share it with your friends and, like I always, say bye for now and God bless you all and Dr Sheila.

- 46:15Dr. Sheila Jackson: I've truly enjoyed it, truly enjoyed it.
