Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus, powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Now here's your host, NASA Chopee. Welcome into another edition
- 0:13Speaker 2: of Hawk Talk.
- 0:13Speaker 1: The Seahawks go down to the Music City in Nashville,
- 0:16Speaker 1: beating the Titans thirty to twenty four on Sunday.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Bump and listen. It wasn't the prettiest game of all time.
- 0:23Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 0:25Speaker 2: NFL games are gonna be like that, it is.
- 0:28Speaker 1: It's one of those things I think people get a
- 0:29Speaker 1: little too caught up in what should happen. Oh, this
- 0:32Speaker 1: team should beat a team by thirty, and this Seahawks
- 0:34Speaker 1: team has spoiled everybody by some of the blow ups
- 0:37Speaker 1: we've had this year right next the Cardinals game, the
- 0:39Speaker 1: Saints game, the Commander's game. So you expect that. I
- 0:41Speaker 1: understand it. But my philosophy, Bump is, you never apologize
- 0:45Speaker 1: for wins in the National Football League, No, sir. You
- 0:47Speaker 1: take how you can get it. And it's awesome to
- 0:49Speaker 1: be able to learn lessons while winning. Still not always
- 0:53Speaker 1: in a loss. So let's jump right into it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: When had happened?
- 0:57Speaker 3: See what happened? Was what had happened first.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Was what happened was on Hawk Talk.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Titans come out the gate bump with their longest opening
- 1:06Speaker 1: drive of the season, fifteen plays, took about nine minutes
- 1:09Speaker 1: off the clock. They did have to settle for three.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And we're gonna talk about him a little bit of
- 1:14Speaker 1: Kim Ward is nice man.
- 1:15Speaker 4: He is Campward mobile as heck might have been in
- 1:18Speaker 4: one of his better games this year too.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Without question, he was under duress the entire day, but
- 1:22Speaker 1: continue to find way to extend plays. The Seahawks will
- 1:25Speaker 1: then answer that drive with an eight play forty five
- 1:27Speaker 1: yard drive on their own. They'd settled for forty seven
- 1:30Speaker 1: yard field goal, even things up at three. The defense
- 1:33Speaker 1: will get a stop on the falling drive bump, setting
- 1:35Speaker 1: up one of the biggest plays of the season.
- 1:37Speaker 4: And after a false start, the Seahawks force are faced
- 1:39Speaker 4: a third and six from their own thirty seven yard line.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Then Sam Donald will connect.
- 1:43Speaker 4: With who JSN sixty three three yards in the air,
- 1:47Speaker 4: made the score ten to three. We're gonna break down
- 1:49Speaker 4: that play later a little. It was easy, a little
- 1:52Speaker 4: bit of a push off. It's not even a push off.
- 1:54Speaker 4: It's like a It's like when you throw a jab.
- 1:55Speaker 4: He's trying to find the range, you know, just where
- 1:57Speaker 4: where's his dB hand on the chest, catches it back,
- 1:59Speaker 4: polls to the end zone and I'll put some style
- 2:01Speaker 4: points on it. The Hawks will force another pun on
- 2:04Speaker 4: the Titans next drive, and we'll put points on the
- 2:06Speaker 4: board once again with a thirty yard field goal from
- 2:08Speaker 4: Jason Myers that made the score thirteen to three.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is the game kind of consistently we
- 2:12Speaker 1: felt the Seahawks were in control the entire time, falling possession,
- 2:15Speaker 1: the Hawks would get a big turnover our downs, stop
- 2:17Speaker 1: the Titans on a fourth and one run, then they'd
- 2:20Speaker 1: settle for another field goal. And this game could have
- 2:22Speaker 1: been a blowout with the Seahawks settle for a lot
- 2:24Speaker 1: of field goals. They go up sixteen to three at
- 2:26Speaker 1: the half. To start the second half, those Seahawks come
- 2:28Speaker 1: right at it. Three plays seventy six yards any one
- 2:31Speaker 1: the thirteen yard touchdown to jaysn It's gonna be the
- 2:33Speaker 1: Jason Show. We'll break down both of those plays. But
- 2:36Speaker 1: Jason also helped set that up with a fifty six
- 2:38Speaker 1: yard reception earlier in the drive that made the score
- 2:41Speaker 1: twenty three to three.
- 2:41Speaker 2: With the Seahawks really in control this thing.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Yep, both teams they get the ball the next two
- 2:45Speaker 4: possessions they end up punting, but disaster would strike for
- 2:47Speaker 4: the Seahawks. Win Cheemo Ray DK and we go but
- 2:52Speaker 4: return up unt. You know, I got a good producer
- 2:55Speaker 4: ninety yards for a touchdown that made the score twenty
- 2:57Speaker 4: three to ten. You hate to see them, but the
- 2:59Speaker 4: Hawks would respond six to play seventy four yards with
- 3:02Speaker 4: a six yard touchdown. Any with a six yard touchdown
- 3:04Speaker 4: from Zach Charbaday hitting the corner, lowering that shoulder getting
- 3:07Speaker 4: into the end zone. That was set up by a
- 3:10Speaker 4: ninety yard run by Canine and a twenty yard reception
- 3:12Speaker 4: by K nine. This is the most he's played when
- 3:15Speaker 4: it comes to percentage, I think sixty two percent of snaps.
- 3:17Speaker 3: He was zim.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Mike McDonald said Canine was going to get more love.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I know he didn't get the touchdown, but he did
- 3:21Speaker 4: get more love.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're gonna talk about him too. He's playing
- 3:24Speaker 1: really well and you earn more carries each and every week.
- 3:26Speaker 1: That's been a staple of this Mike McDonald program. And
- 3:29Speaker 1: then you know the game was pretty much in hand
- 3:32Speaker 1: the Titans didn't make it entring. You score two touchdown
- 3:34Speaker 1: drives later in the game, you end up making it
- 3:36Speaker 1: a one score game. They tried the on side kick,
- 3:37Speaker 1: It does not go ten yards. The Seahawks recover the football,
- 3:40Speaker 1: Sam Donald takes a knee. The Seahawks win the ball game.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And I think also because the Seahawks have been so
- 3:44Speaker 1: good on the Central or Eastern time zone these ten
- 3:47Speaker 1: am starts, we've come accustomed them just doing it handle business.
- 3:51Speaker 2: And they still did.
- 3:52Speaker 1: But you know, it takes a while to get going,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and they didn't start off slow. But you know, it
- 3:56Speaker 1: wasn't the most perfect game. It is what it is.
- 3:58Speaker 1: The Seahawks still get the job done. The game was
- 4:00Speaker 1: never in jeopardy. Seahawks outgaining Titans three fifty three to
- 4:03Speaker 1: two ninety six. The Titans were six of seventeen on
- 4:06Speaker 1: third down and five of seven on fourth down, which
- 4:08Speaker 1: i'll kick things close.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Yeah, the Titans. They dominated the time of possession too.
- 4:12Speaker 4: I mean, you start off that that first drive, take
- 4:14Speaker 4: up nine minutes off the clock, you're gonna be in
- 4:17Speaker 4: the running when it comes to that thirty seven minutes
- 4:18Speaker 4: of twenty two. The Titans ran sixty eight plays of
- 4:21Speaker 4: the Seahawks forty seven. They outrushed the Titans though one
- 4:24Speaker 4: hundred and fourteen to sixty four, but most importantly, no turnovers.
- 4:28Speaker 4: It's been a while since the Hawks of the game
- 4:29Speaker 4: with a turnovers, so that was good to see. It
- 4:32Speaker 4: wasn't a ball like most expected, but this is the NFL.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Like you said, you don't apologize for wins. You take
- 4:38Speaker 4: them anyway you can. And Spoon had a quote which
- 4:40Speaker 4: I love. I've been saying it all day. I'd rather
- 4:42Speaker 4: learn from a win than learn from a loss. And yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 4: I'm with you, one hundred percent, Spoon.
- 4:46Speaker 2: That goes to for in life.
- 4:49Speaker 3: And wins.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Seahawks improved to eight and three for the first time
- 4:52Speaker 1: since twenty twenty, the last time the Seahawks won the
- 4:54Speaker 1: NFC West. So that's huge, all right, And again you'll
- 4:57Speaker 1: take wins, but but for me off first and I'll
- 5:00Speaker 1: kick to you. Why I learned about this team because
- 5:02Speaker 1: they can win in different ways. They can win if
- 5:04Speaker 1: they don't have their fastball. They can win and figure
- 5:08Speaker 1: out ways to come together and get it done. In depth, depth, depth,
- 5:11Speaker 1: this team, it doesn't matter who it is. Patrick o'connorho
- 5:13Speaker 1: will talk about he steps in when Ernest Jones is out,
- 5:15Speaker 1: whether it's been tyle Cott or whether it's been Drake Thomas,
- 5:17Speaker 1: whether it's been dan Athony Bell, Wilson stepped up and
- 5:19Speaker 1: played when Ocatta went down. They're just deep at every
- 5:21Speaker 1: position and literally it's the next man up mentality and
- 5:24Speaker 1: everyone comes with it every week.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I learned this. It's a versatile defense.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I looked up some numbers, man lots of time spent
- 5:31Speaker 4: in diamond nickel, like base was out there, but lots
- 5:33Speaker 4: of time in diamond nickel. And it seems like every
- 5:35Speaker 4: week this is who they are, but every week they
- 5:37Speaker 4: kind of tweak what they need to do according to
- 5:39Speaker 4: their personnel and who they're facing. So I just learned
- 5:43Speaker 4: that you gotta be versatile throughout the NFL season and
- 5:46Speaker 4: ain't all gonna be pretty.
- 5:47Speaker 3: You gotta be scrappy.
- 5:48Speaker 4: They were that and Sam Darnold it looks like he
- 5:52Speaker 4: got his confidence back. Some of the throws that he
- 5:54Speaker 4: was making. Let me know that he's not gonna be
- 5:56Speaker 4: gun shy. He's gonna throw that thing.
- 5:57Speaker 2: And that's who he is and that's how he got there.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So one bad game, to your point, is not going
- 6:01Speaker 1: to change how he plays a game of football which
- 6:03Speaker 1: we'd love, and there's a lot of people making plays
- 6:05Speaker 1: all over the field.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Let's get into it. Playmakers touchdown.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Playmakers told him what time it is?
- 6:16Speaker 2: Holy, Well, where are we going to start?
- 6:19Speaker 1: Of course, number eleven Jackson Smith and Jake but number
- 6:21Speaker 1: one yards, eight receptions, one hundred and sixty seven yards,
- 6:24Speaker 1: two touchdowns, had a sixty three yard touchdown reception, which
- 6:27Speaker 1: is a career high for him. In twards of yards,
- 6:30Speaker 1: Jayson said, Seattle single season receiving yards record with now
- 6:33Speaker 1: has thirteen one, three hundred and thirteen yards, beat dk
- 6:36Speaker 1: Metcalfs record in twenty twenty, who had thirteen oh three.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I'm just gonna give myself little pad on the back.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I did call that all day of the year.
- 6:43Speaker 3: You called it. You didn't think it was going down
- 6:44Speaker 3: in twelve though, no.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I thought, at least get the fifteen or sixteen. But
- 6:49Speaker 1: we just saw what this guy could do. We saw
- 6:50Speaker 1: we could do at the end of last year, and
- 6:51Speaker 1: he's continued to do each and every week. He also
- 6:53Speaker 1: passed Julio Jones for the fifth MOLT receiving yards and
- 6:56Speaker 1: a player's first eleven games of a season in the
- 6:58Speaker 1: Super Bowl era with one thousand, three hundred thirteen set
- 7:01Speaker 1: a career high. Now with seven receiving touchdowns this season
- 7:04Speaker 1: and also has eight with one hundred yard games, and
- 7:07Speaker 1: I mean he is doing his thing. He's the best
- 7:10Speaker 1: receiver in the NFL by a wide margin. And I
- 7:13Speaker 1: just got no more words about this dude, because he
- 7:15Speaker 1: is that Talentin each and every.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Week, hey gets her done.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Most reliable player on this team right now is JSM.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Sam Donald had himself a good day to sixteen to
- 7:23Speaker 4: twenty six, two hundred and forty four yards, two touchdowns,
- 7:26Speaker 4: zero interceptions, which is key QB rating of one to
- 7:29Speaker 4: eighteen point one. He now has twenty games with one
- 7:31Speaker 4: hundred plus pass ratings is twenty twenty four and tied
- 7:34Speaker 4: for the most in the NFL.
- 7:36Speaker 3: It's a huge bounce back.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Took care of the football, took the check downs, did
- 7:40Speaker 4: exactly what he needed to do, and even the questionable throws.
- 7:44Speaker 4: I understand what he's doing and why he is going there.
- 7:46Speaker 4: It's not I'm not scratching my hand thing of what
- 7:47Speaker 4: are you doing? But yes, Sam Donald, man bounce back
- 7:50Speaker 4: swag is there. Celebrating with his boys. I wanted to
- 7:52Speaker 4: see that.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah no, And when those two are on the
- 7:54Speaker 1: same page, it's dangerous for this league.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Standout offense.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Ken Walker Levin carries seventy one yards six point five
- 8:00Speaker 1: yards of carrying. He also three receptions for thirty yards.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Not an unbelievable stats. We've seen ken Walker have big
- 8:06Speaker 1: game after the game before. But I just love, like
- 8:08Speaker 1: you said earlier, to keep him involved, get him more touches,
- 8:10Speaker 1: because I really feel like this offense is at their
- 8:12Speaker 1: best when he's on the field and showing what he
- 8:14Speaker 1: can do there. So it's cool to see him slowly
- 8:16Speaker 1: but surely getting more involved in the game plan. So
- 8:19Speaker 1: I'm looking for big things from ken Walker moving forward.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Patio Patrick O'Connell man nine tackles, one sack, one TfL
- 8:25Speaker 4: one quarterback. Kid was called up from the practice squad
- 8:28Speaker 4: and he played some good football. Has some big hits
- 8:30Speaker 4: on that first drive, I've been a big hit on
- 8:32Speaker 4: the side. Line man at Tinna washed him out. Patio
- 8:36Speaker 4: came down him, bam smacked that dude. Young man out
- 8:38Speaker 4: of Montana. Got some reps of his thing.
- 8:40Speaker 1: No love it, and again going back to depth, he's
- 8:42Speaker 1: out there every time. So cool to see another big
- 8:44Speaker 1: sky guy getting after it. Obviously Tyle Cotton the secondary
- 8:47Speaker 1: of Montana State, and it's a little bit we're there,
- 8:49Speaker 1: but yeah, no love what we're seeing from him.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Patio doing his thing. Lenand Williams.
- 8:53Speaker 1: This is each and every week, four tackles, one sack,
- 8:55Speaker 1: one TfL, four QB hits again making life miserable for
- 8:59Speaker 1: often Alnment across the National Football League. And then Byron
- 9:02Speaker 1: Murphy five tackles, one sack, one TfL, one QB hit.
- 9:06Speaker 1: He's having himself a year. He's tied with the league
- 9:09Speaker 1: lead or the team lead in sacks with Leonard and
- 9:12Speaker 1: each and every week he is a dog. He is
- 9:14Speaker 1: a he's a problem if you're offensive. Mind, those two
- 9:16Speaker 1: are problems. The level we're seeing from them. Yeah, he's
- 9:18Speaker 1: tied for third.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I want to say, in the league a monst tackles
- 9:21Speaker 4: when it comes to sacks two, there's one with six
- 9:23Speaker 4: point five and there's a few with with six.
- 9:25Speaker 3: So Byern Murphy, keep doing your thing.
- 9:27Speaker 4: And then Drake Thomas led the team with ten tackles
- 9:30Speaker 4: in one TfL.
- 9:31Speaker 3: I mean he's a starter in this league.
- 9:32Speaker 4: This is just what he does now, and it's fun
- 9:34Speaker 4: to see Drake Thomas elevate himself the way that he has.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Right, let's get to the wide receiver round up.
- 9:40Speaker 4: We got jsen At eight for one sixty seven, like
- 9:43Speaker 4: we mentioned, two touchdowns along of sixty three, K nine
- 9:46Speaker 4: three for thirty along of twenty nine. You got Cooper
- 9:49Speaker 4: Cup two for twenty four, A J. Barner two for eighteen,
- 9:52Speaker 4: and Arroyo had one four five.
- 9:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I mean we talked about, you know, early in the season.
- 9:58Speaker 1: We're like, man, I don't know if it can be
- 10:00Speaker 1: the jaysn Joe each in every week. Well, yes it can, Yes,
- 10:03Speaker 1: it can. Have no problem with that obviously, Sam Donald.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Everyone's playing the role over and I'm sure we're gonna
- 10:08Speaker 1: hit on this a little bit bump as we break
- 10:09Speaker 1: down these plays. Everyone's doing the role to help Jason
- 10:12Speaker 1: get his open as he's doing. But man, it's really
- 10:14Speaker 1: cool to see, which brings us to our plays of
- 10:16Speaker 1: the game. Sam Donald linking up with Jackson, Smith and
- 10:19Speaker 1: Jig before sixty three yard touchdown.
- 10:22Speaker 6: Third down and six slot to the near side Smith
- 10:25Speaker 6: and Jig, but now comes over from left to right
- 10:27Speaker 6: four man rush.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Donald has time gonna let it fly. Got a man,
- 10:30Speaker 5: JS said, make the catch, take the tackle.
- 10:33Speaker 6: He's gonna back into the end zone for a touchdown.
- 10:38Speaker 6: Seahawks sixty three yards single coverage.
- 10:44Speaker 5: You guys know better than that.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Tennessee a beautiful pass Smith and jig but catches it.
- 10:52Speaker 5: dB falls down a certain touchdown.
- 10:56Speaker 6: For the Hawks and Seattle leads now nine three.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Yeah, this was fun. This is a big play that
- 11:03Speaker 4: we're waiting for. You got Jason on the left side
- 11:05Speaker 4: of the formation. He motions over to the right side.
- 11:08Speaker 4: The safety switch responsibility to say, all right, now, you
- 11:10Speaker 4: got eyes on them. You watch him before we focus
- 11:13Speaker 4: on Jays in the play that gets this guy open
- 11:15Speaker 4: or the route is Rashid Shaheed and the reason why
- 11:18Speaker 4: is he gets an inside release. He's crossing the field
- 11:20Speaker 4: around ten to twelve. That makes that safety have to
- 11:23Speaker 4: respect it and bite damn. That's part of their rules,
- 11:25Speaker 4: right deep cross, you come down and you help. So
- 11:28Speaker 4: that isolates Jays in one on one with the other safety.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Jason inside releases and then just goes man. He goes
- 11:35Speaker 4: he's fastening what people think. He gets behind him and
- 11:38Speaker 4: makes the difficult catch. Once again. The other routes just
- 11:41Speaker 4: kind of layer things up. You force the flat defenders
- 11:43Speaker 4: to be flat defenders, and then you pull one safety
- 11:45Speaker 4: with you. You isolate Jasn one on one and he makes
- 11:48Speaker 4: a big play, scores a touchdown and the offensive line. Look,
- 11:52Speaker 4: if you want to get so far off, feel like
- 11:53Speaker 4: on the left side you got Zabo.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I believe that is.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I'm going up against that three take that three kick
- 11:58Speaker 4: take get so far upfield.
- 12:00Speaker 3: All right, I'm gonna wash it there. I'm gonna keep
- 12:01Speaker 3: you there.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Him and Sam Donald's gonna step up the right site
- 12:03Speaker 4: does a good job.
- 12:04Speaker 3: You got a three on two over there. You should
- 12:06Speaker 3: win that battle every time.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Big ups on Olu cleaning that thing up with a
- 12:09Speaker 4: little punch there and Donald stepping up making a great throw.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah no, you said it perfectly. A couple of things.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Love what we saw from JSN putting his foot in
- 12:16Speaker 1: the ground getting past. And if you're the secondary you're
- 12:20Speaker 1: safety playing Jasn from depth like that, good luck because
- 12:22Speaker 1: it essentially turns into man and you're playing man approaching
- 12:26Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage from the balls being sapped as
- 12:28Speaker 1: Jayson's running full speed at right at you. Good luck, man,
- 12:31Speaker 1: You're gonna lose that battle ten out of ten times,
- 12:34Speaker 1: and then you talked about a super clean pocket for
- 12:36Speaker 1: Sam Donald and I just again we run out of
- 12:40Speaker 1: words to talk about this.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Throws up a.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Great ball and then Jasn is slowly falls down, gets
- 12:44Speaker 1: to look at everybody as he walked backwards into the
- 12:47Speaker 1: end zone celebrated a little bit.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Love what we saw from there, Jasn.
- 12:50Speaker 1: These guys continue, continue to keep making plays, and we'll
- 12:54Speaker 1: stick with that theme.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Bump JSN.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Sam Donald finds Jason again for this time my thirteen
- 12:58Speaker 1: yard touchdown.
- 12:59Speaker 6: Check it down three at the Tennessee thirteen Again I
- 13:02Speaker 6: backs playfake, this time to walker.
- 13:04Speaker 5: Sam throws got a man in the back of the
- 13:05Speaker 5: end zone. Hitchcock touchdown, Shay Hawks man. What's that? Three plays?
- 13:13Speaker 5: JSN makes the.
- 13:14Speaker 6: Catch in the back of the end zone from thirteen out,
- 13:20Speaker 6: a big score, his second of the game. The Seahawks
- 13:23Speaker 6: stretch their lead now twenty two to three.
- 13:26Speaker 5: In that drive, they made it look easy.
- 13:29Speaker 4: It's all about the setup here. You come in a
- 13:32Speaker 4: run heavy formation. You're bringing an extra running excuse me,
- 13:36Speaker 4: a old lineman on the left side.
- 13:38Speaker 3: You got oots at the fullback spot.
- 13:39Speaker 4: You got K nine in the I formation, look, everything
- 13:43Speaker 4: says we're gonna run this football. So the Tights defense
- 13:45Speaker 4: has to respond accordingly.
- 13:47Speaker 3: What do you do?
- 13:47Speaker 4: You drop another man in the box and you play
- 13:49Speaker 4: this thing tight. What it turns into is obviously a
- 13:51Speaker 4: play action and essentially a cover three. All right, you
- 13:54Speaker 4: got one high safety, you got the back corner covering
- 13:57Speaker 4: a deep bear where no one is there, and then
- 13:58Speaker 4: you have again created a one on one with JSM.
- 14:02Speaker 4: What makes this thing work here is obviously the play action.
- 14:04Speaker 4: You get your linebackers who bite up. Then you have
- 14:06Speaker 4: the deep cross by Cody White. The deep cross by
- 14:08Speaker 4: Cody White grabs the attention of the safety and that corner.
- 14:12Speaker 4: So now you got a one on one with JSM.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Jayson Inside releases and gets vertical. And what he does
- 14:17Speaker 4: he sells the corner, looks over his right shoulder, puts
- 14:19Speaker 4: that left foot in the ground.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Then he snaps it off.
- 14:22Speaker 4: What that does is that with it creates more space
- 14:24Speaker 4: get him away from that safety.
- 14:26Speaker 3: You gotta do something to hold that safety.
- 14:27Speaker 4: So with Jason getting wide and snapping it off, it
- 14:30Speaker 4: creates space. Sam Donald throws a dart and your goods go. Also,
- 14:33Speaker 4: Sam Donald with the ball is snap he holds that
- 14:36Speaker 4: safety with his eyes. All it takes is a point five.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I'm looking at that deep cross. The safety has to
- 14:40Speaker 4: respect him. Now I'm going back. He let's go to
- 14:42Speaker 4: the football right in time before contact is there. The
- 14:45Speaker 4: timing is everything, The details are everything. This is a
- 14:49Speaker 4: this is rense to repeat so far well and again.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I love that you said Jason selling the corner because
- 14:53Speaker 1: the touchdown he had before is essentially the corner out.
- 14:55Speaker 2: So okay, I'm not gonna get beat there.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Uh huh, Sam Donald, I want to give him props too,
- 14:58Speaker 1: because he stands tall the pocket right there there a
- 15:00Speaker 1: little pressure is left side, and where he got in
- 15:03Speaker 1: trouble last week. He didn't throw off his back foot,
- 15:04Speaker 1: he leans steps into the throw. Makes a great play there.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Level we saw from Sam and then we've heard a
- 15:10Speaker 1: lot recently bump. Why aren't people just double team and
- 15:13Speaker 1: Jason and every play? Okay, Well, if that safety just
- 15:16Speaker 1: stays over at Jason the entire time Cody White catches
- 15:19Speaker 1: a touchdown wide, it doesn't matter. If those guys aren't
- 15:22Speaker 1: necessarily super stars in this league. They're in the NFL.
- 15:24Speaker 1: If that's Cody White, if that's Cooper Cup that's Rashi yahid.
- 15:27Speaker 1: They will make that play and it will be a touchdown. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: It just you can't just put two people on him.
- 15:32Speaker 3: No, it's you.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Don't think people would be figured that out by now
- 15:35Speaker 2: and just taking them away.
- 15:36Speaker 4: The best you can do is bracket him, which is
- 15:37Speaker 4: try to get a second level defender on him to
- 15:39Speaker 4: jack him up and then high loan with that guy
- 15:42Speaker 4: in a safety. You're committing two to one, so something
- 15:44Speaker 4: else is going to be there. And the way that
- 15:45Speaker 4: Kubiak designs these plays and calls him, it forces everyone
- 15:49Speaker 4: out there to be true to their rules when it
- 15:51Speaker 4: comes to pass cover. So it sounds good. Now many
- 15:54Speaker 4: sounds I've been out of spot. They're saying just double them. Sure,
- 15:56Speaker 4: go ahead and do that. Someone else is gonna eat.
- 15:59Speaker 4: But the route come nations challenge your rules.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and I guess you could sit in too high
- 16:03Speaker 1: all day long and say I'm gonna shade to that side.
- 16:05Speaker 1: But you don't think a guy like Kink Kubiak that
- 16:07Speaker 1: offense isn't gonna take a part of that too.
- 16:08Speaker 3: You already know is the answer for everything.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I mean, it's I'm just it's tough, man, I feel
- 16:14Speaker 1: you guys, I don't know what.
- 16:15Speaker 2: They can't take it. I get the paid it's hard.
- 16:18Speaker 2: He's really good at football.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Man.
- 16:19Speaker 1: The Seahawks get us for back to our victory formation.
- 16:22Speaker 1: We haven't had that for a week, so we're back
- 16:24Speaker 1: at it. Seahawks get the dub.
- 16:27Speaker 6: Here comes the Seahawks offense onto the field and the
- 16:30Speaker 6: Vikings defense trutching out there knowing that one kneel down
- 16:36Speaker 6: and the Seahawks are gonna line the clock down and.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Win this one.
- 16:39Speaker 2: It's the victory formation.
- 16:41Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk, Seahawks back in the wind calumn after
- 16:44Speaker 1: another road win against the Titans.
- 16:46Speaker 2: We said, it's the beginning.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Wasn't the prettiest win of all time, wasn't the blowout
- 16:49Speaker 1: that everyone predicted, But it's the NFL. You gotta bring
- 16:51Speaker 1: each and every week. I think we saw the Giants
- 16:53Speaker 1: almost beat the Lions. That was the game they probably
- 16:55Speaker 1: shouldn't have been in. Guys, it's the NFL. Everyone gets paid,
- 16:58Speaker 1: they're allowed to coast Their players too. Had a good
- 17:00Speaker 1: game plan they executed, but at the end of the day,
- 17:02Speaker 1: Seahawks pull out the thirty twenty four win, and we
- 17:04Speaker 1: talked about it. Sem darnold Able to bounce back two
- 17:07Speaker 1: forty four two touchdowns, most importantly, no interceptions. We just
- 17:10Speaker 1: broke down that play. I love how he's playing. His
- 17:12Speaker 1: confidence is not shaking and he's playing good football.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Yup, and so is Jays.
- 17:16Speaker 4: In another big day one seventy six two touchdowns, he
- 17:19Speaker 4: broke the Seahawks single season receiving record thirteen hundred and
- 17:23Speaker 4: thirteen yards, beating dk metchals mark setting twenty twenty.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Ken Walker had himself a good day with one hundred
- 17:28Speaker 3: and one total yards.
- 17:29Speaker 4: On defense, the Seahawks had some trouble with Cam but
- 17:32Speaker 4: were able to sack them four times. D Hall got
- 17:35Speaker 4: in the mix, first sack of the year. Big ups
- 17:37Speaker 4: d Hall, Leonard Williams, Buyer, Murphy, Patty Oh, Patrick O'Connor
- 17:40Speaker 4: been elevated from practice squad.
- 17:42Speaker 3: All able to get the young man on the ground.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and they pressured him almost every suple play.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I mean he was elusive and he kept plays going. Otherwise,
- 17:50Speaker 1: if that was somebody else, he might have been Seahawks
- 17:52Speaker 1: might have fifteen sacks, right, I mean it was there
- 17:54Speaker 1: getting out. The Raiders gave up ten, so you already happen.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And they did this with ars Jones. You mentioned Pat
- 18:00Speaker 1: tre O'Connell will love to see it. Seahawks eight and
- 18:02Speaker 1: three for the first time since twenty twenty, Seahawks will
- 18:04Speaker 1: welcome in the four and seven Vikings Sulu Minfield. JJ
- 18:07Speaker 1: McCarthy is now entered concussion protocol, which is a big thing.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So we'll see what We'll monitor that and we'll have
- 18:12Speaker 1: you ready for well, you're ready for Sunday. It is
- 18:15Speaker 1: Thanksgiving this week, so we'll try to get to you guys.
- 18:16Speaker 2: A little bit earlier this week.
- 18:18Speaker 1: But again, Seahawks huge win on the road against the Titans,
- 18:22Speaker 1: drugging along this season is special. We'll see what the
- 18:24Speaker 1: Seahawks can do on Thursday. He's Michael Bumpus. I'm asked
- 18:27Speaker 1: to show me. This has been Hawk Talk.
