- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, Michelle maybe, and I'm here. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: think if you're hearing weird lips smacking in the background,
- 0:08Speaker 1: it's because my cat is licking herself next to me
- 0:11Speaker 1: right now. Can you hear it. I don't think you
- 0:14Speaker 1: can actually hear it, but if you can, that's what's
- 0:16Speaker 1: going on. She's super cute, so she can stay and
- 0:21Speaker 1: continue to lick herself, even if it's kind of weirdly loud,
- 0:26Speaker 1: at least to me, maybe not to you. So yeah,
- 0:29Speaker 1: I'm here, I guess, And we're gonna talk about late
- 0:32Speaker 1: episode twelve, but before we do, I just wanted to
- 0:35Speaker 1: give you a little update, I guess on the summer season,
- 0:38Speaker 1: which I guess is begun. I don't really know what's
- 0:41Speaker 1: going on this season. I'm sure there's a lot of
- 0:43Speaker 1: good things that I don't know about that I should
- 0:45Speaker 1: look into, but I haven't yet. But the one thing
- 0:47Speaker 1: I did start watching was Ja dugar Oh, which is
- 0:50Speaker 1: life in Mongolia. I don't know if I'm pronouncing that correctly,
- 0:53Speaker 1: by the way, because it is not a language that
- 0:57Speaker 1: I know how to pronounce. But in case you don't
- 1:01Speaker 1: know about what that is, it is a historical fiction
- 1:06Speaker 1: thing based on either a Jose or Shojo manga by
- 1:10Speaker 1: Tomato Soup, and I say Shojo or Jose because I
- 1:14Speaker 1: think it was originally published on the internet as Joe Say,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and then when it started being serialized, it was and
- 1:22Speaker 1: still is serialized in a Shojo manga magazine, So I
- 1:26Speaker 1: guess it could be either there's an overlap there, but
- 1:30Speaker 1: yay Shojo or josey so far really really good. Two
- 1:35Speaker 1: episodes were released at the same time, and I haven't
- 1:38Speaker 1: read much of the manga. I've read like a chapter
- 1:40Speaker 1: or two, and I wasn't like Super Souls originally. I
- 1:44Speaker 1: was like, I'm not really sure what we're gonna do
- 1:46Speaker 1: with this, but there's been like a lot of death already,
- 1:48Speaker 1: so I'm like, I'm there. I'm I'm enjoying it. I
- 1:51Speaker 1: like the main character, so I'm really interested to see
- 1:54Speaker 1: how it goes. Yeah, I mean, it's, like I said,
- 1:56Speaker 1: historical fiction about a slave in e who ends up
- 2:02Speaker 1: being taken captive when Mongolians invade her city, and then
- 2:10Speaker 1: I guess becomes a slave in Mongolia. I'm not sure
- 2:13Speaker 1: yet because we're not that far, but then probably lots
- 2:16Speaker 1: of other things, maybe but yeah, and the animation is
- 2:21Speaker 1: real interesting, very much more cartoony than a lot of things.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I mean, it works very well with the manga style.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It kind of has that like power Puff style. I
- 2:32Speaker 1: don't know what that's called, but like it's also really pretty.
- 2:35Speaker 1: It's done by Science Sadu, who you will remember did
- 2:40Speaker 1: and I think is still doing dondad On, So they're
- 2:43Speaker 1: pretty good with what they do visually. So yeah, it's
- 2:47Speaker 1: been it's been good so far. So if you're interested
- 2:50Speaker 1: in like kind of sad violent things that are Shojo
- 2:53Speaker 1: or Joe say which you should be check it out
- 2:57Speaker 1: or don't. You know, it's up to you. You don't
- 2:59Speaker 1: have to do anything. You can just sit there and
- 3:02Speaker 1: stare at the wall. That's what you want. Like, if
- 3:04Speaker 1: that's your thing and you get a lot of like
- 3:07Speaker 1: joy out of it, go for it. Yeah. I don't
- 3:11Speaker 1: know what I'm saying either anyway. Also, I wanted to
- 3:14Speaker 1: say that we had like another trailer for the remake
- 3:18Speaker 1: of Magic Night Rares. I believe that's coming out now
- 3:21Speaker 1: in fall twenty twenty six seasons so soon, and you know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: part of me kind of wants to do it for
- 3:30Speaker 1: the podcast, like take the rest of the summer season.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Off Lane ends next week and then start up with
- 3:37Speaker 1: it for a fall season. Does that sound terrible? You
- 3:42Speaker 1: can tell me that it sounds terrible. You can say, Michelle,
- 3:44Speaker 1: I don't want to do a clamp showjo please, no, please,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and I would. I would say, Okay, let's not do it.
- 3:52Speaker 1: It's just the thought that I had it might not
- 3:55Speaker 1: even be a good one. I kind of wish that
- 3:57Speaker 1: they would just redo Fushigi Yugi or something, because I
- 4:00Speaker 1: would definitely do that. But yeah, there's one part of
- 4:03Speaker 1: me that's like, man, that would be super cool. I
- 4:05Speaker 1: remember when I used to watch Magic Night rayres. And
- 4:08Speaker 1: the other part of me is like, is it a
- 4:09Speaker 1: good story? Though, like the adaptation wasn't like great, but like,
- 4:13Speaker 1: is the story worth me doing it on the podcast?
- 4:16Speaker 1: And frankly, I don't really know. If you have thoughts
- 4:19Speaker 1: on that, please email them to me. My email is
- 4:23Speaker 1: in the little show notes. There's a little quote at
- 4:25Speaker 1: the bottom of them from the episode, and then next
- 4:28Speaker 1: to it is my email. You can email me and
- 4:30Speaker 1: tell me please don't do that, Michelle, or that's fine,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I don't care, or even wow, that would be so cool.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I know you're not gonna say that, but if you
- 4:38Speaker 1: want to, you can email me. All Right, I'm gonna
- 4:41Speaker 1: stop talking about stuff that's not laying now. I feel
- 4:44Speaker 1: weird today. It's the first day in like five or
- 4:48Speaker 1: four days that it hasn't been like one hundred degrees,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but it's superhumid, so I can't like open the windows
- 4:54Speaker 1: and have nice time anyway, But yeah, let's do it.
- 4:59Speaker 1: So Lane. Episode twelve is called Landscape. I don't know.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I don't know if I understand that title. Honestly, maybe
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'll figure it out as we're going. But anyway, if
- 5:10Speaker 1: you remember from the last episode, we ended with Lane
- 5:14Speaker 1: changing the timeline or making everybody forget that Alice really
- 5:18Speaker 1: likes that teacher and masturbates to him and they were
- 5:22Speaker 1: like in school, and then like Lane smiled, real weird
- 5:25Speaker 1: and she was like, Lane, you smiled, and I was like,
- 5:27Speaker 1: she smiled before. I didn't say that then, but I'm
- 5:29Speaker 1: saying it now, so we don't start there, because why
- 5:33Speaker 1: the fuck would we. Oh. Also, before I go any further,
- 5:37Speaker 1: I couldn't watch this episode where I normally watch it,
- 5:41Speaker 1: because it just kept stopping at a specific point and
- 5:45Speaker 1: saying that I didn't have internet connection and to check
- 5:49Speaker 1: my internet settings, and obviously I had internet because I
- 5:54Speaker 1: was doing stuff, so I don't know what happened, but
- 5:57Speaker 1: I could not watch the episode, and I tried multiple times,
- 6:00Speaker 1: so eventually I had to find a different place to
- 6:03Speaker 1: watch it. And it has different subtitles, which are definitely
- 6:07Speaker 1: fans of as far as I can tell, because some
- 6:10Speaker 1: of the names are different, like Alice's adi Su, which
- 6:13Speaker 1: I am not sure what it's supposed to be. I'm
- 6:15Speaker 1: pretty sure that early on I saw, like in the
- 6:17Speaker 1: actual like in a text message from her Alice, So
- 6:21Speaker 1: that's why I said Alice instead of Adisu. But what
- 6:24Speaker 1: I'm trying to say is it's like infinitely better and
- 6:28Speaker 1: easier to understand. And I'm a little annoyed that I
- 6:31Speaker 1: didn't find this place first, because this was so much easier.
- 6:37Speaker 1: As I've said, you know, previously, the subtitles that I
- 6:40Speaker 1: was watching were like definitely wrong in a lot of places,
- 6:44Speaker 1: like someone would say what like Lane would just say huh,
- 6:49Speaker 1: and the subtitles would be like what do you mean, Alice,
- 6:53Speaker 1: Like stop that, just stop it. So this has been
- 6:57Speaker 1: way better, and I was really excited, but all so
- 7:00Speaker 1: sad that I found out this late. Anyway, we start
- 7:04Speaker 1: like we always do, normal stuff, present day, present time. Yeah,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I still don't like that. I have one more chance,
- 7:15Speaker 1: one more chance. Anyway, we go back to a bunch
- 7:17Speaker 1: of normal things, and we have a lane voiceover through
- 7:22Speaker 1: the whole normal shit area that goes, oh okay, So
- 7:27Speaker 1: that's how it works. I had no idea the world
- 7:30Speaker 1: was so weasy to figure out. I was overthinking things
- 7:32Speaker 1: all along. I always thought the world was such a big,
- 7:35Speaker 1: scary place to live in with nowhere to hide. But
- 7:37Speaker 1: once you figure it out, it's so easy. We hear
- 7:40Speaker 1: a woman say, see, I told you it would be,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and then we go to the title card landscape Layer twelve,
- 7:48Speaker 1: and it's on a different background. It's on like a
- 7:51Speaker 1: blue sky background with clouds, almost like the background of
- 7:55Speaker 1: like Windows home screen type thing, but not exactly, but
- 7:59Speaker 1: sort of. I thought it was weird that it's not
- 8:01Speaker 1: the same as usual. I mean, last episode was different too,
- 8:04Speaker 1: but that's because it was partially recap. So yeah, different background,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I guess. Back from the title card, we go to
- 8:10Speaker 1: wires humming on background that is out of focus, and
- 8:15Speaker 1: it slowly comes into focus, so it's like lots of
- 8:18Speaker 1: tree tops with like a building or multiple buildings behind them,
- 8:22Speaker 1: and one of them, the closest one, looks like maybe
- 8:24Speaker 1: it's the school, but I'm not sure. And then we
- 8:26Speaker 1: go to Alice. She is resting her head on her
- 8:28Speaker 1: hand and kind of looking down. She's at school, obviously,
- 8:31Speaker 1: so it probably was the school. We see Rayka and
- 8:34Speaker 1: Judy standing at Lane's desk, and Judy laughs and says saying,
- 8:39Speaker 1: that's terrible. Raka's like, I can't believe you just said that.
- 8:43Speaker 1: They laugh. I want to know what she said. Alice
- 8:46Speaker 1: is just watching them, looking really forlorn, and Lane says,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I know, but it's really true, and then giggles. Alice thinks,
- 8:54Speaker 1: what does it mean. We get a close up on
- 8:56Speaker 1: her eye and we hear Rega say I think it's Rika.
- 9:01Speaker 1: That's the first I've heard of it, acting all high
- 9:04Speaker 1: and mighty again Haleane. Alice blinks and then gasps. Lane
- 9:08Speaker 1: is staring back at her. The girls are still talking
- 9:10Speaker 1: in the background. Alice looks pretty freaked out because things
- 9:14Speaker 1: are weird right now, and I would also be scared
- 9:17Speaker 1: of Lane, and Lane is just kind of smiling at her,
- 9:20Speaker 1: like really slightly, but you know, very naturally, like it's
- 9:25Speaker 1: not a forced smile anyway. This kind of freaks out
- 9:28Speaker 1: Alice more, and her eyes kind of widen and she
- 9:30Speaker 1: turns away. At that moment, her cell phone starts to
- 9:33Speaker 1: buzz and she reaches down somewhere either her pocket or
- 9:36Speaker 1: desk we can't really see, and pulls out her phone
- 9:38Speaker 1: and looks at it. We see her male menu on
- 9:41Speaker 1: her phone, and characters start to like type in and
- 9:45Speaker 1: they say, you can rewrite unpleasant memories. Oh fuck. Alice
- 9:50Speaker 1: looks real freaked out, and she's like, but that's As
- 9:53Speaker 1: she's looking at the screen, the characters suddenly start to
- 9:56Speaker 1: like glitch out and she looks up and she's like,
- 9:59Speaker 1: but that's Lane is still staring at her, and that
- 10:03Speaker 1: like doesn't make Alice feel any better, and also, how
- 10:06Speaker 1: did you send that text? Lane? We now go to
- 10:08Speaker 1: like a blue staticky screen that has like more light
- 10:12Speaker 1: blue static in the center, and slowly Lane's face and
- 10:15Speaker 1: shoulders kind of tune in to focus, like you know,
- 10:20Speaker 1: like you're using an antenna to get better signal, and
- 10:22Speaker 1: it looks like she's naked by the way, yay Lane,
- 10:26Speaker 1: Without moving her mouth, she's just kind of like looking
- 10:28Speaker 1: around and stuff like that. Moving slightly. She says, people
- 10:33Speaker 1: only have substance within the memories of other people, and
- 10:36Speaker 1: that's why there's all kinds of mees Oh, there weren't
- 10:39Speaker 1: a lot of mees per se. I was just inside
- 10:42Speaker 1: all sorts of people, that's all. She disappears from the screen. Fuck.
- 10:48Speaker 1: We go to the disco ball, which is motionless, and
- 10:51Speaker 1: we see, you know, the three kids just sitting at
- 10:54Speaker 1: a table in the club. It's dark. I think I
- 10:57Speaker 1: see JJ in the background at the bar, so it's
- 11:00Speaker 1: like the club is open, but no one's there. I
- 11:02Speaker 1: don't really know. Or maybe JJ just hangs out there
- 11:05Speaker 1: because he gets bored, or maybe he has no home
- 11:07Speaker 1: and he lives there. I don't know. Anyway, they look bored,
- 11:12Speaker 1: which I guess makes sense. But also it's like things
- 11:15Speaker 1: are real weird right now. How can you be bored? Anyway,
- 11:18Speaker 1: they said they look bored, but really just Mumu and
- 11:22Speaker 1: Masayuki look bored. Toto has like VR goggles on. He's
- 11:26Speaker 1: kind of leaning back in his chair and he says
- 11:30Speaker 1: to I guess whoever he's talking to on VR? Oh,
- 11:33Speaker 1: I see, yeah, now I get it. Mumu says, hey, Tato,
- 11:38Speaker 1: tell us who you're talking to. Toto just laughs like
- 11:41Speaker 1: he's heard a really good joke, and Masayuki says, what
- 11:45Speaker 1: is it. Toto sits up and kind of leans against
- 11:48Speaker 1: the table and says, well, you know, he takes his
- 11:51Speaker 1: hood down, which I didn't even say he was wearing,
- 11:54Speaker 1: but he had a hoodie on and his hood was up,
- 11:55Speaker 1: so now it's down. He continues it so happens that
- 11:59Speaker 1: I kissed a name'll fuck you. Mumio and Masayuki turn
- 12:03Speaker 1: to each other and they're both like huh. Mumia looks
- 12:06Speaker 1: upset and says, Toto. We now cut to lots of
- 12:10Speaker 1: people walking down streets. We see their feet and then
- 12:14Speaker 1: we just kind of like see their shadows. Then we
- 12:16Speaker 1: get like a lot of interwoven, partially transparent layers of
- 12:20Speaker 1: people walking and cars driving by, like all just like
- 12:23Speaker 1: city activity happening. Next, we get to a shot of
- 12:27Speaker 1: buildings with you know those weird towers that I was
- 12:30Speaker 1: telling you about in that episode that I was like,
- 12:32Speaker 1: what are they? They kind of look like chest pieces,
- 12:34Speaker 1: but I think that they're not supposed to just weird
- 12:36Speaker 1: towers rising up. They're like in between buildings. I think
- 12:40Speaker 1: there's two of them. And you know, while this is occurring,
- 12:43Speaker 1: we just hear lots of different voices just saying Lane.
- 12:47Speaker 1: We get to another city shot, and this time there
- 12:50Speaker 1: are three of those towers, and the voices are continuing.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Now we see a blue screen that same staticky screen.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Lane appears and kind of moves a little bit, and
- 12:58Speaker 1: then it's back to black. A newscaster pops up. He
- 13:02Speaker 1: is kind of staticky and out of focus, and there
- 13:05Speaker 1: are images behind him just kind of flashing, and it's
- 13:08Speaker 1: really hard to make out what they are because everything
- 13:11Speaker 1: is so like staticky and grainy. And also the whole screen,
- 13:15Speaker 1: including the newscaster, is kind of just like moving back
- 13:18Speaker 1: and forth and all around, like there's somebody behind a
- 13:21Speaker 1: camera that is drunk. I don't know. It's kind of
- 13:24Speaker 1: weird and you know, just shaky and unsteady and unsettling. Anyway,
- 13:28Speaker 1: he says Protocol seven is expected to allow for the
- 13:31Speaker 1: seamless sharing of information between the wired and the real world.
- 13:35Speaker 1: And now the following message. We get a closer shot
- 13:38Speaker 1: of the newscaster now, which is very very like pixelated,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and his eyes are like super wide, like he's insane,
- 13:43Speaker 1: and he says, let's all love Lane. What and he
- 13:48Speaker 1: says it like three more times, and then it just
- 13:50Speaker 1: starts saying la la la la la la la la
- 13:51Speaker 1: la la la, and then it just cuts. Yeah, Okay.
- 13:55Speaker 1: We go to a screen that is just untranslated Japanese,
- 13:59Speaker 1: but then also in English says iwakura Lane on it
- 14:02Speaker 1: kind of in the middle. Then we see Lane on
- 14:04Speaker 1: that blue screen again and fades out. Sure, we cut
- 14:08Speaker 1: to like, folks, I guess they are cops on the
- 14:11Speaker 1: train tracks in the rain, you know, like from when
- 14:15Speaker 1: eighty you know, died and there was that police stuff,
- 14:18Speaker 1: you know, that stuff from a couple episodes ago. Anyway,
- 14:22Speaker 1: we hear someone say and I think this is God.
- 14:24Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna say it's God. All the functions
- 14:26Speaker 1: of the human body, without exception, can be put into
- 14:28Speaker 1: words and described in materialistic terms. We cut to a
- 14:33Speaker 1: shot of that thirteen near the tracks again and we
- 14:35Speaker 1: see that guy picking up what I think is a
- 14:37Speaker 1: piece of white fabric or paper. I'm not really sure that,
- 14:40Speaker 1: you know, like drenched and wet and stuff because it's raining.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Then we see an image of buildings in a city
- 14:48Speaker 1: that looks like maybe it's kind of inverted like colorwise,
- 14:51Speaker 1: I wasn't really sure. There's like pinkish clouds moving in
- 14:54Speaker 1: the background and they're being reflected on the buildings, which
- 14:56Speaker 1: is pretty cool, and God continues, the body is nothing
- 14:59Speaker 1: but a machine. If the physical limitations of the body
- 15:03Speaker 1: restrict mankind's evolution, it would be as if the fall
- 15:06Speaker 1: of the species had already been decided by a god
- 15:09Speaker 1: that doesn't even exist. We see pigeons on the sidewalk,
- 15:12Speaker 1: now yay, and then we cut to like some static
- 15:16Speaker 1: and then like to like a weird structure that I
- 15:19Speaker 1: wasn't sure what it was, but maybe it's like an
- 15:21Speaker 1: underpass with like purple and red and blue reflected on it.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I didn't understand. And then we see this like weird
- 15:29Speaker 1: pink person floating off between some buildings, like they're three
- 15:34Speaker 1: D mapped or something. God continues. The information etched inside
- 15:39Speaker 1: humans isn't only that which they themselves have acquired as individuals.
- 15:44Speaker 1: We get lots of shots of potentially real landscapes that are,
- 15:49Speaker 1: you know, kind of grainy, and they just kind of
- 15:51Speaker 1: dissolve into static. God continues. The species is connected to
- 15:56Speaker 1: its predecessors and information has accumulated with in them. We
- 16:01Speaker 1: see like a grainy image of a park that has
- 16:03Speaker 1: this like big dinosaur playground equipment thing that I don't
- 16:07Speaker 1: know what it is, but like the dinosaur thing like
- 16:10Speaker 1: comes out of the image like towards us. It's kind
- 16:13Speaker 1: of like transparent. I don't know what this means, guys,
- 16:16Speaker 1: God continues, If that information isn't shared, it's meaningless, mere data.
- 16:22Speaker 1: We see a city again, but this time is drawn.
- 16:25Speaker 1: God says, mankind can evolve, evolve by their own power.
- 16:29Speaker 1: We see some more like grainy city scape images going
- 16:34Speaker 1: to static again. God continues, but to do that, they
- 16:38Speaker 1: must first know what they truly are. Now we see
- 16:42Speaker 1: like lots of green three D mapped people like out
- 16:46Speaker 1: in the street through a window. God continues, what do
- 16:50Speaker 1: you think they are? Me? Now we cut to dark buildings.
- 16:55Speaker 1: We're like panning down towards the ground, and the buildings
- 16:59Speaker 1: kind of transition in to like little computer chippy things,
- 17:01Speaker 1: you know, with lines and stuff and electricity shooting through them.
- 17:05Speaker 1: I don't know what to call this, and God says,
- 17:07Speaker 1: originally people were all connected to each other. All I've
- 17:11Speaker 1: done is make things as they once were. Now we're
- 17:13Speaker 1: just concentrating on lots of computery lines and electricity. He continues,
- 17:18Speaker 1: that's what you've done, Lane, so you can do anything
- 17:20Speaker 1: you want. We see Lane standing on the sidewalk wearing
- 17:24Speaker 1: a yellow dress. The wind is kicking up and whipping
- 17:27Speaker 1: it around, and she is just kind of standing there,
- 17:30Speaker 1: looking off, smiling, and I'm pretty sure she's staring at
- 17:34Speaker 1: the high tension power lines in front of her. Yay,
- 17:38Speaker 1: but then she turns her head. Okay, before we go on,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about evolution and how we as
- 17:46Speaker 1: individuals evolve or as a species evolve. I didn't really
- 17:51Speaker 1: like in this translation that I was watching that there
- 17:55Speaker 1: was a lot of mankind and man so I had
- 17:58Speaker 1: to take those out. But that's not what I want
- 17:59Speaker 1: to to talk about. What I wanted to say is
- 18:03Speaker 1: that's just evolution, guys. And yeah, I mean that's totally
- 18:07Speaker 1: right on. That we are an accumulation of the knowledge
- 18:11Speaker 1: that's been collected from you know, everyone before us. You know,
- 18:15Speaker 1: it's not like people that are really much smarter or
- 18:19Speaker 1: any smarter than they've ever been. It's just that we've
- 18:22Speaker 1: had really smart people do things, and then we can
- 18:25Speaker 1: all share that knowledge and you know, progress things from it.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It's like if I was just me and there's not
- 18:34Speaker 1: electricity in the world for some reason, and I didn't
- 18:37Speaker 1: know about electricity, Like I wouldn't be able to make
- 18:39Speaker 1: a light bulb because I'm just not that smart. But
- 18:45Speaker 1: being in the world today, I still can't make a
- 18:47Speaker 1: light bulb, but I would know how to make one.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I kind of understand how to make a light bulb
- 18:53Speaker 1: because other people have made light bulbs before and I
- 18:57Speaker 1: looked into it. This feels like a bad example, but
- 19:00Speaker 1: you get what I mean. Maybe anyway, So that's all
- 19:04Speaker 1: like totally fine and makes sense, and I like that,
- 19:07Speaker 1: but I don't like the idea that like that's different
- 19:09Speaker 1: than other evolution that other animals don't because it's not.
- 19:13Speaker 1: All evolution is kind of collective, even if it's not
- 19:17Speaker 1: about knowledge. You know, you have one part of the
- 19:20Speaker 1: population that has a different trait and then that gets
- 19:23Speaker 1: passed down to other people. I mean, if it works
- 19:26Speaker 1: out and it is beneficial evolution wise, so it's always
- 19:31Speaker 1: kind of a collective effort, if that makes sense. So yeah,
- 19:35Speaker 1: I don't know. But also, like I don't think everyone
- 19:39Speaker 1: was originally connected to each other. I don't think that's
- 19:41Speaker 1: how the conscious mind works, but sure, God, let's go
- 19:44Speaker 1: with that anyway, we can continue. Sorry, we see a
- 19:48Speaker 1: city again where like panning down from the building tops,
- 19:50Speaker 1: and then we go to a very dark room with
- 19:53Speaker 1: minimal lighting. Basically it's just overhead like fluorescent lights that
- 19:57Speaker 1: are kind of greenish. For some reason. It's so dark
- 20:00Speaker 1: that I can't really tell what's happening in this room,
- 20:02Speaker 1: and there's just kind of this constant, mechanical worrying happening.
- 20:06Speaker 1: It does kind of look like it's a long corridor though,
- 20:09Speaker 1: but that's really all I get. And then we go
- 20:10Speaker 1: to a different thing and I see, oh fuck, it's
- 20:12Speaker 1: a parking garage. I don't think this is my computer
- 20:16Speaker 1: monitor's fault. I really think that this lacked definition, but whatever.
- 20:21Speaker 1: And the only reason I knew this was a parking
- 20:23Speaker 1: garage at first is because I see a car sort of.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It's a black car. A red light kind of comes on.
- 20:30Speaker 1: We can see it from the front dashboard window. And
- 20:33Speaker 1: then we cut to Carl who's lighting a cigarette with
- 20:35Speaker 1: a lighter, and you know, he's being reflected in the
- 20:40Speaker 1: driver side window. It's a really cool shot. Actually, he exhales,
- 20:44Speaker 1: like a bunch of smoke. The short guy, who we
- 20:47Speaker 1: still don't have a name for, is in the driver's seat. Okay,
- 20:50Speaker 1: so I take that back. He was being reflected in
- 20:52Speaker 1: the passenger side window. Whatever. Anyway, short guy's in the
- 20:55Speaker 1: driver's seat and he starts like waving his hand to
- 20:58Speaker 1: disperse the smoke and move it away from him, and
- 21:00Speaker 1: he says, I find you quit smoking. Carl doesn't say anything,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and I also wanted to point out that he doesn't
- 21:06Speaker 1: have his goggles on, even though the short guy does.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Short guy says, why is this happening? We did exactly
- 21:13Speaker 1: what we were told to. Carl says, it means that
- 21:16Speaker 1: our client wasn't the only one who thought those computer
- 21:18Speaker 1: geeks playing Secret Society would be trouble. I don't know
- 21:21Speaker 1: what that means. Short guy turns his head and says,
- 21:25Speaker 1: what do you mean? Yeah? Exactly. Carl's like our client
- 21:29Speaker 1: was in contact with Ady Matsumi. He exhales, No, maybe
- 21:33Speaker 1: eighty was behind all of this. Yeah, that's what I think.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Short Guy's like, enough about eighty. Okay, the guy's dead.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Carl takes another drag of his cigarette and looks at
- 21:44Speaker 1: short Guy and we can see his really gorgeous eyes,
- 21:47Speaker 1: and he says he's not dead. Short guy gasps, huh.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Carl's like, whether he had a body or not never mattered.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I think it matters. It never mattered. Sure. Short guy
- 21:59Speaker 1: is silent for second, and they says, are you serious.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Carl just smiles. Suddenly, short guy looks up and is like, huh.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Carl looks at him and he gasps, and we see
- 22:10Speaker 1: that another black car has kind of turned the corner
- 22:14Speaker 1: and is coming towards them. It pulls up like right
- 22:17Speaker 1: to where they parked and then shuts its engine off.
- 22:20Speaker 1: They both get out of the car, and then they
- 22:23Speaker 1: walk over and stand in front of, like the front
- 22:25Speaker 1: of the car, kind of in the path of the
- 22:28Speaker 1: other car's headlights, which I don't know if that works,
- 22:32Speaker 1: like because the car is perpendicular to them, so I
- 22:35Speaker 1: feel like the headlights would be going forward further down
- 22:39Speaker 1: the parking garage and not to the side where they're standing.
- 22:42Speaker 1: And I was gonna like go outside and try this
- 22:45Speaker 1: with my car, and then I didn't because I thought
- 22:49Speaker 1: of it this morning and I have to record this now.
- 22:52Speaker 1: But I feel like the lighting doesn't totally make sense.
- 22:55Speaker 1: But then the shadows make sense. So I'm a little
- 22:57Speaker 1: bit confused. But I I think this is a me
- 23:00Speaker 1: problem and not a real problem, so let me stop
- 23:03Speaker 1: talking about it. Anyway. The other car's door opens, and
- 23:08Speaker 1: at this point Carl has skuggles back on. By the way,
- 23:10Speaker 1: a guy with a briefcase gets out and walks in
- 23:13Speaker 1: front of his car, and he like sets it down
- 23:15Speaker 1: on the ground. Short guy's like, payment for services rendered. Huh.
- 23:20Speaker 1: You guys have been using us, haven't you? The guy
- 23:22Speaker 1: who might be the guy from the office when Lane
- 23:25Speaker 1: went there, but I'm not sure, just kind of smiles
- 23:27Speaker 1: really slyly, and he says, interpret it any way you like.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Carl's like, you want us to leave town? Huh? And
- 23:35Speaker 1: go where? Pittsburgh? Sorry, that's literally what I wrote in
- 23:39Speaker 1: my notes. The guy's like hmm and smiles. I suppose
- 23:44Speaker 1: a place with no power line that isn't covered by
- 23:46Speaker 1: a satellite. Okay, yeah, not Pittsburgh. I don't even know
- 23:49Speaker 1: where you find that. Short guy's like, there's no place
- 23:51Speaker 1: like that on Earth, and you know it. Okay, I
- 23:53Speaker 1: agree with him. Anyway, The guy says, if you're gonna run,
- 23:57Speaker 1: you'll have to find a place like that. He turns
- 23:59Speaker 1: and he's to walk back to his car. Carl's like,
- 24:02Speaker 1: what's gonna happen? The guy stops. He puts his hand
- 24:06Speaker 1: on his open car door. Carl continues, what are you
- 24:10Speaker 1: planning on doing by connecting the wire to the real
- 24:12Speaker 1: world without any devices? The guy smiles and turns back
- 24:16Speaker 1: towards them and says, something wonderful's gonna happen. Fuck. We
- 24:22Speaker 1: get a close up of his eyes and I'm looking
- 24:24Speaker 1: forward to it, aren't you. Carl looks shot. I mean
- 24:29Speaker 1: we can't see his eyes, but his mouth is slightly
- 24:31Speaker 1: hanging open. The short guy makes some sort of frustrated noise.
- 24:35Speaker 1: We cut to the car's wheel, you know, the other
- 24:38Speaker 1: guy's cars wheel as the engine turns over, and then
- 24:42Speaker 1: we see the tire start to rotate. It backs into
- 24:45Speaker 1: a spot, does a k turn, and drives off. Short
- 24:50Speaker 1: guy says what the and then he like stops because
- 24:53Speaker 1: he just starts to flail around and scream okay, and
- 24:57Speaker 1: Carl's like, what's wrong. Short guy kind of loses his
- 25:01Speaker 1: balance and like trips back into the car hood and
- 25:03Speaker 1: then he like falls over onto the ground and he
- 25:06Speaker 1: starts like crawling and he's like crying in agony, and
- 25:09Speaker 1: then he like flips over so he's like on his back,
- 25:11Speaker 1: but then he arches up like his stomach in the
- 25:15Speaker 1: air or something I don't know, and he's like screaming still,
- 25:18Speaker 1: and then he like flips over again and he like
- 25:22Speaker 1: grabs his head and kind of goes into a fetal position. Okay,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I don't what. I don't think this is good, whatever
- 25:28Speaker 1: it is. Carl's like, what are you seeing? I was
- 25:31Speaker 1: gonna chastise him for just kind of standing there, but
- 25:33Speaker 1: then he goes over to short guy, kneels down and
- 25:36Speaker 1: kind of like grabs him sort of I don't know
- 25:38Speaker 1: by what. I couldn't really tell, and lifts him up
- 25:40Speaker 1: a little bit. And it's like, hey, short guy is
- 25:43Speaker 1: still making all of these cries of agony, and we
- 25:46Speaker 1: cut the first person perspective like through Carl's goggles, which
- 25:51Speaker 1: just make things a little more colorful. I guess I
- 25:54Speaker 1: couldn't really tell. So the short guy rips off his
- 25:56Speaker 1: goggles and like screams, and Carl like focuses in, you know,
- 26:02Speaker 1: with the goggles on on the short guy's right eye,
- 26:05Speaker 1: and he's like magnifying and magnifying and there's like something
- 26:09Speaker 1: in there, something white in there, and it's lain just
- 26:13Speaker 1: in his eye. Carl gasps because yeah, and immediately lets
- 26:17Speaker 1: go of the short guy, and the short guy just
- 26:19Speaker 1: kind of falls back on to the pavement, and then
- 26:21Speaker 1: Carl gasps. We cut to the short guy again, who
- 26:26Speaker 1: is dead, his eyes wide open mid screen. Fuck. I mean,
- 26:32Speaker 1: I didn't really like him, but I don't think he
- 26:34Speaker 1: needed to die. Carl now makes some sort of like
- 26:37Speaker 1: terrified noise, and then he suddenly looks up and gasps
- 26:43Speaker 1: him alone. He is shaking and sweating now, and he
- 26:47Speaker 1: scans the parking lot with his goggles that now looks
- 26:50Speaker 1: like maybe this is a thermal image, I'm not sure,
- 26:53Speaker 1: and something is walking towards him. I think it's a
- 26:55Speaker 1: lighter blue color than everything else or whatever. He starts
- 26:59Speaker 1: to make these little terrified cries, and we see through
- 27:03Speaker 1: his point of view as the thing moves closer at closer,
- 27:08Speaker 1: and then he screams, and we cut to another section
- 27:10Speaker 1: of the parking garage a that it echoes out. I'm
- 27:14Speaker 1: pretty sure he's dead. No, I liked Carl. We fade
- 27:22Speaker 1: to black. Fuck. We fade into power lines buzzing on
- 27:28Speaker 1: a white and kind of peach colored sky, and then
- 27:31Speaker 1: we get this kind of like weird shot kind of
- 27:33Speaker 1: looking up at Alice as she walks, and now the
- 27:35Speaker 1: sky is yellow and white. I don't know what happened there.
- 27:38Speaker 1: We pan down from above and see that she's walking
- 27:41Speaker 1: down like a neighborhood street kind of looks like where
- 27:43Speaker 1: Lane lives, and like she's walking through those blotchy shadows.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Her steps echo, everything else is dead silent, and we
- 27:51Speaker 1: pan up now on Lane's house and there are so
- 27:55Speaker 1: many wires now like coming out of that wall, which
- 28:00Speaker 1: they'll don't know why there are wires coming out of
- 28:02Speaker 1: the wall at all. I guess she ran out of room.
- 28:06Speaker 1: But they did apparently remind me of spaghetti because I
- 28:09Speaker 1: wrote it and then put a little smiley face next
- 28:11Speaker 1: to it. It likes spaghetti. Alice looks up at the
- 28:15Speaker 1: house concerned, and then back down at the wall. It's
- 28:19Speaker 1: kind of like by the gate that says ewakoda on it,
- 28:22Speaker 1: and there's like a doorbell under it. She presses the
- 28:25Speaker 1: doorbell and it makes like a weird sound, like it
- 28:28Speaker 1: starts out normal, like a normal doorbell sound, and then
- 28:31Speaker 1: it gets like weird and e tonal at the end,
- 28:34Speaker 1: like something is wrong with it. She looks up at
- 28:36Speaker 1: the house and pushes the gate open. I don't think
- 28:40Speaker 1: she meant to. Maybe she was just trying to like
- 28:42Speaker 1: rest her hand on the gate because she's really surprised
- 28:45Speaker 1: it's not locked, and immediately closes it again. She looks
- 28:48Speaker 1: back up at the house again, and we cut to
- 28:50Speaker 1: the porch and see that the front door is partially open.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Alice looks super worried. I mean, yeah, Now we see
- 28:59Speaker 1: from inside of the home looking out at the open door.
- 29:03Speaker 1: As Alice approaches it and looks inside and gasps, the
- 29:07Speaker 1: kind of main hall area is dark and just like
- 29:11Speaker 1: filled with trash and graffiti, and there's like furniture that
- 29:16Speaker 1: like appears to be like turned over to Yeah, you
- 29:20Speaker 1: do need to not leave your door open otherwise vandals
- 29:23Speaker 1: will come and also maybe squatters. But then again, like
- 29:27Speaker 1: there's barely anyone living there. No Lane lives there. We
- 29:30Speaker 1: have to keep her safe. She stares at this mess
- 29:33Speaker 1: in shock and then decides to walk inside, which I
- 29:36Speaker 1: don't think that's a good idea. Once she's just slightly inside,
- 29:40Speaker 1: she stops and says, Lane. She looks down at the
- 29:44Speaker 1: floor there are slippers kind of strewn everywhere, and clothing
- 29:48Speaker 1: and like an overturned dresser or something. Alice, who is
- 29:52Speaker 1: you know, sweating, takes off her shoes, which seems like
- 29:55Speaker 1: a really bad idea considering there's all the shit all
- 29:57Speaker 1: over the floor, and continues to walk. She stops right
- 30:01Speaker 1: outside of that main room you know, like the living room,
- 30:04Speaker 1: family room, kitchen, combination open plan place, and looks in.
- 30:09Speaker 1: It's dark in there and messy, but like it doesn't
- 30:13Speaker 1: look like it's been vandalized. It just looks like someone
- 30:16Speaker 1: left in a hurry. She gulps and continues to walk forward.
- 30:21Speaker 1: We now see her as she reaches the bottom of
- 30:23Speaker 1: the stairs, and it is like foggy now. Alice starts
- 30:28Speaker 1: to work her way up past all of this trash
- 30:31Speaker 1: that's just on the stairs, like books and a teddy
- 30:34Speaker 1: bear and a potted plant and like an umbrella and
- 30:38Speaker 1: other things. She puts her hand over her mouth because
- 30:41Speaker 1: of all this fog, but starts to cough anyway. Suddenly
- 30:45Speaker 1: she looks up and just stops dead. She brings one
- 30:49Speaker 1: of her feet back down a step, and we see
- 30:52Speaker 1: that Mika is there in the midst I think standing
- 30:56Speaker 1: at the top of the stairs. Yeah, Alice looks like
- 30:59Speaker 1: she's gonna cry, and she kind of throws herself against
- 31:03Speaker 1: the wall and falls into a sitting position and just sobs,
- 31:07Speaker 1: and she says no and puts her hand over her face.
- 31:12Speaker 1: When she looks up again, Mika's gone. Alice stands up,
- 31:15Speaker 1: still crying a little, and ascends the rest of the
- 31:18Speaker 1: stairs in the hallway. Now, she walks down the hall
- 31:22Speaker 1: and stops at a door, and after taking a moment
- 31:25Speaker 1: to steel herself, she slowly pushes it open. I mean
- 31:29Speaker 1: it opens really slowly. She steps inside and she's looking
- 31:34Speaker 1: around and she says, this is Lane's room. Yeah, it's
- 31:38Speaker 1: Lane's room. It's got stuff all over it that's like
- 31:41Speaker 1: wires and shit. We cut to her like looking around,
- 31:45Speaker 1: and I think she hears movement. I couldn't really tell,
- 31:47Speaker 1: or she backed into something. I wasn't sure. And she
- 31:49Speaker 1: turns really quickly and says Lane. We see her like
- 31:53Speaker 1: walking around and looking at stuff, and then she gasps
- 31:56Speaker 1: and quickly steps back and like knocks over like a
- 32:00Speaker 1: com pewter monitor behind her. We get a close shot
- 32:02Speaker 1: of Lane's arm with like wires all around it and stuff,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and it kind of looks like it's extending from a
- 32:09Speaker 1: pile of cables. But then Lane sits up, So I
- 32:12Speaker 1: guess she's just in a pile of cables on her
- 32:16Speaker 1: futon or something, but like not consumed by them. I
- 32:19Speaker 1: wasn't sure anyway, Alice says Lane. Lane just sits there,
- 32:24Speaker 1: looking down, holding a teddy bear, and then she turns
- 32:27Speaker 1: slightly and says, Alice. Alice is like, what did you do?
- 32:34Speaker 1: Laane looks like sort of happy, but also her eyes
- 32:39Speaker 1: look really sad or tired, and she says nothing. I've
- 32:44Speaker 1: just been watching. Alice is like watching what. Lane just stares.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Alice takes his shaky breath and is silent for a second,
- 32:54Speaker 1: and then says, I thought I'd gone crazy, but I
- 32:57Speaker 1: didn't Lane. Why did you leave only me? Laane doesn't
- 33:01Speaker 1: say anything and really doesn't appear to be looking at
- 33:04Speaker 1: Alice anymore, and Alice, now with tears in her eyes, says,
- 33:09Speaker 1: why did you leave only my memories alone? She just
- 33:12Speaker 1: kind of collapses on to her knees and starts to cry,
- 33:15Speaker 1: Why do I always have to remember those horrible things?
- 33:18Speaker 1: A tear falls down her cheek. Do you hate me
- 33:20Speaker 1: that much? Lane looks up, like, what do you mean? No,
- 33:24Speaker 1: and Alice says I can't take this. She starts sobbing.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Lane's like, no, you've got it all wrong, Alice. She
- 33:32Speaker 1: crawls over her fouton towards Alice. I didn't want to
- 33:35Speaker 1: hurt you. Alice is like, liar, look what you've done.
- 33:39Speaker 1: She's still sobbing by the way. Lane gets closer, but
- 33:43Speaker 1: you're okay, right, Alice. Alice says, what, Lane's like, you
- 33:49Speaker 1: or my friend? Even without connecting to me. Alice is like,
- 33:54Speaker 1: what do you say? Lane like gets up right in
- 33:59Speaker 1: Alice's face and Alice gasps, and Lane says you're my
- 34:03Speaker 1: only friend, even without connecting to me. Alice shrinks back
- 34:08Speaker 1: and says connecting, what do you mean? Lane smiles and
- 34:13Speaker 1: moves right up on Alice again, connecting to me and
- 34:17Speaker 1: everyone uh. Alice. At this point, Like gets up and
- 34:22Speaker 1: runs back and says stop. Lane's like I love you, Alice. Fuck.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Alice turns back, do you know what you're saying? Lane's
- 34:31Speaker 1: like humans were originally connected at an unconscious level. I
- 34:35Speaker 1: just reconnected them as all. Alice says, Lane, you Lane's
- 34:42Speaker 1: like I didn't do anything. It doesn't matter which is
- 34:44Speaker 1: real this side or the other? I was in both.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I'm a program designed to destroy the barrier between the
- 34:50Speaker 1: wired and the real world. Alice is like, you're a program.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Lane says, you and everyone else, Alice, you're just applications.
- 35:00Speaker 1: The truth is you don't need bodies what. Alice looks horrified.
- 35:06Speaker 1: There's a long pause, and then Alice sits down again.
- 35:11Speaker 1: We cuts her hand as she reaches out towards Lane,
- 35:14Speaker 1: and Lane just kind of stares at her, confused. We're
- 35:17Speaker 1: just seeing like a close up of Lane's eyes, and
- 35:20Speaker 1: then she glances to the right and we see that
- 35:23Speaker 1: Alice has put her hand on the side of Lane's face.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Lane just kind of stares at it and then looks
- 35:28Speaker 1: back at Alice, and Alice says, you're wrong. Layne's eyes widen.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Alice continues, I don't really understand what you're saying, but
- 35:38Speaker 1: I think you're wrong. Your body's cold, but you're alive. Lane.
- 35:42Speaker 1: She takes her hand off of Lane's cheek and then
- 35:45Speaker 1: holds Lane's hand with both of her hands and then
- 35:49Speaker 1: lifts Lane's hand up and places it over her heart
- 35:52Speaker 1: mine too. See. Lane stares kind of confused, and Alice
- 35:58Speaker 1: is like, see my heart. Lane smiles and says, it's
- 36:02Speaker 1: beating sort of. Actually, she says doki doky doky doki,
- 36:06Speaker 1: which is on a monopoeia for heart beating sound, so
- 36:10Speaker 1: it's really weird. In this translation, she just says beating, beating, beating,
- 36:13Speaker 1: which is weird, but in Japanese she says doky dogy
- 36:15Speaker 1: doky doge, which makes more sense anyway. They both giggle
- 36:20Speaker 1: at that, and Lane's like, but why why is it
- 36:24Speaker 1: beating like that? Alice is like, because I'm scared. It's
- 36:28Speaker 1: pounding because I'm scared. Lane says, but you're smiling, Alice.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Alice is like, yeah, I guess so, but I'm scared.
- 36:37Speaker 1: I've always been scared. I wonder why. Lane says, why
- 36:43Speaker 1: we hear God say because she's afraid of losing her body.
- 36:47Speaker 1: All sensations are caused by impulses in the brain. He
- 36:51Speaker 1: kind of fades in above their heads and continues, you
- 36:55Speaker 1: just need to block the unpleasant impulses, select only the happy,
- 36:59Speaker 1: pleasant ones. Lane turns, you know, towards him and says wheely.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Alice is like, who are you talking to? God says,
- 37:08Speaker 1: if you really love her, why don't you connect with her.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Blaine looks away and says, I'm not sure. Alice stands Lane, Lane,
- 37:20Speaker 1: who are you talking to? Lane? Wayne is just basically
- 37:23Speaker 1: ignoring her, by the way, and God's like, you must
- 37:26Speaker 1: have a bug? Fuck, he chuckles. Very well, I'll take
- 37:31Speaker 1: my time and give you a thorough debugging what. He
- 37:35Speaker 1: extends his hand. Come, Lane, Yeah, I'll just stop there
- 37:39Speaker 1: for a second and say, what the fuck? I don't
- 37:41Speaker 1: think I like the way that that sounded. Yeah. Yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 1: it kind of schewed me out, honestly. Anyway. Alice gasps
- 37:50Speaker 1: because she can actually see his hand now. For some reason.
- 37:53Speaker 1: It's just like this white, kind of like computer screeny
- 37:57Speaker 1: looking hand. I don't know how to describe that, and
- 38:00Speaker 1: it descends down and then kind of rests in the
- 38:04Speaker 1: air next to Lane, reaching towards her like it wants
- 38:08Speaker 1: her to take it. Alice stumbles back and screams, as
- 38:12Speaker 1: you would, and Lane says, what I don't understand is
- 38:15Speaker 1: you God? Alice is like, you're talking to God. God says,
- 38:22Speaker 1: what don't you understand? Lane, Lane's like, what you did
- 38:26Speaker 1: was to remove devices from the wired phones, TVs, the network.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Without those, you couldn't have done anything. God kind of
- 38:35Speaker 1: kneel floats over her and says, yes, those are things
- 38:40Speaker 1: which accompanied human evolution. Humans who are further evolved than
- 38:44Speaker 1: others have the right to greater abilities. She's, dude, think
- 38:49Speaker 1: a lot of yourself. Lane looks up at him who
- 38:52Speaker 1: gave you those rights. God's eyes widen and he gasps,
- 38:56Speaker 1: and we cut to Alice, who has her hands over
- 38:59Speaker 1: her face, just like standing there terrified. And then Lane says,
- 39:03Speaker 1: the program that inserted code sync to the Earth's resonant
- 39:06Speaker 1: frequency into the Protocol seven code which would raise the
- 39:10Speaker 1: collective unconscious to the conscious level. Did you really come
- 39:14Speaker 1: up with the idea by yourself. God's hand is shaking now,
- 39:18Speaker 1: he says, what are you getting at? No, it can't be.
- 39:23Speaker 1: It can't be. Are you telling me that there really
- 39:25Speaker 1: is a God? Lane stands, and the wires just kind
- 39:29Speaker 1: of slowly slough off her. She says, it doesn't matter
- 39:34Speaker 1: with nobody you can't understand. Yeah, She starts to walk
- 39:38Speaker 1: towards Alice. God's like, that's a lie. I'm omnivident. I
- 39:43Speaker 1: gave you a body here in the real world. You
- 39:45Speaker 1: were omnipresent, scattered through the wired I gave you ego.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Lane at this point is trying to pull Alice like away,
- 39:53Speaker 1: but Alice is just continuing to stare in horror, and
- 39:56Speaker 1: God continues, you mean to say, Lane turns back. If
- 40:03Speaker 1: that's true about me, what about you? God's like, I'm different.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I His hand just like starts getting all veiny and weird,
- 40:11Speaker 1: and then he like screams in anguish, and all of
- 40:14Speaker 1: a sudden, like all these body parts just start appearing
- 40:17Speaker 1: like throughout the room and like coming towards him and
- 40:20Speaker 1: like making him come together or something. And he's like
- 40:23Speaker 1: just screaming, and at first it looks like it's making
- 40:26Speaker 1: him into like a flesh and blood person, but not exactly.
- 40:29Speaker 1: And then we like see this big eye like pop open,
- 40:33Speaker 1: and Lane says, the wired isn't the upper layer of
- 40:36Speaker 1: the real world. God's like, what do you mean, Lane continues,
- 40:41Speaker 1: Inside the wired, you were, God, But what about before
- 40:44Speaker 1: the wired was created? You were just acting like God
- 40:48Speaker 1: standing in for someone who was waiting for the wire
- 40:50Speaker 1: to reach its current state. God is just this morphing
- 40:54Speaker 1: flesh lump. Now I don't know what's going on, and
- 40:57Speaker 1: he says, and acting God, that's a lie. His tongue.
- 41:02Speaker 1: I think like shoots out and it like wraps itself
- 41:06Speaker 1: around Alice and Lane, and Alice screams, fuck. He like
- 41:11Speaker 1: lips them into the air, like still screaming and like
- 41:14Speaker 1: morphing and shit. And Lane's like Alice, she looks at
- 41:19Speaker 1: what is kind of God's head now even though like
- 41:21Speaker 1: this is just not working out well for him, I think,
- 41:24Speaker 1: and she says, a body doesn't mean anything to you.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Right At this point, the like coolant system just breaks
- 41:31Speaker 1: and spills out, and then like computer things like start
- 41:34Speaker 1: falling off of each other, and corns start like writhing
- 41:38Speaker 1: and disconnecting, and then they like all start like wrapping
- 41:41Speaker 1: around God. This causes God to like drop them, I guess.
- 41:45Speaker 1: And once they are safe, I mean relatively, Lane just
- 41:50Speaker 1: kind of calmly holds Alice as she screams and cries.
- 41:54Speaker 1: God reaches his hand out from this big pile of
- 41:57Speaker 1: computer shit that is, you know, in developing him, and
- 42:01Speaker 1: it like kind of morphs into two hands and he
- 42:04Speaker 1: like reaches out for them. But then like a big
- 42:06Speaker 1: computer piece comes and like smashes it back. Everything kind
- 42:12Speaker 1: of stops and we see that every piece of computer
- 42:16Speaker 1: equipment in the room has crushed God to be continued,
- 42:20Speaker 1: and then we go to the ending theme and that's it. Yay,
- 42:25Speaker 1: closing thoughts. I got interrupted there for a minute, so
- 42:29Speaker 1: I don't remember what I was gonna say. Well, let's
- 42:31Speaker 1: let me see if I could figure this out. So what,
- 42:36Speaker 1: I don't know why God started getting a body. I mean,
- 42:40Speaker 1: his whole belief, his whole like foundation of the idea
- 42:45Speaker 1: of who he is is breaking down because he must
- 42:49Speaker 1: have been created because the wired was created, so at
- 42:52Speaker 1: some point there was something else before him. But I mean,
- 42:55Speaker 1: I think God is supposed to be Adi Masumi, So
- 43:02Speaker 1: I guess maybe it's just a part of him that
- 43:04Speaker 1: still exists. I don't really know, but I guess him
- 43:08Speaker 1: having this existential crisis is making him get body parts
- 43:12Speaker 1: and then they get all Morphy what. I don't know.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I don't know why his tongue shot out and picked
- 43:22Speaker 1: them up. What was he gonna do with them? What? Yeah?
- 43:26Speaker 1: So I thought this was really interesting, but I don't
- 43:30Speaker 1: know if I understood it, like I understand the idea
- 43:33Speaker 1: behind it. He's obviously not really God, even if he
- 43:37Speaker 1: created Lane, he still isn't God, and he can't really
- 43:42Speaker 1: understand things that people understand because he's not a real person,
- 43:47Speaker 1: which I thought was cool him being like, so there
- 43:50Speaker 1: is a God, Lane being like, you're never gonna know
- 43:51Speaker 1: because you're not a person. Like, I don't think there's
- 43:55Speaker 1: a god in this. Actually I think that we're basically
- 43:57Speaker 1: saying there still is no god, but whatever, So something
- 44:04Speaker 1: I don't know, God is all freaking out. And now
- 44:07Speaker 1: maybe he's dead because he got crushed by computer equipment.
- 44:11Speaker 1: But I assume Lane did that. I don't really know though,
- 44:15Speaker 1: I'm just very confused. But I didn't like him. He
- 44:18Speaker 1: was a piece of shit. And I'm very worried about
- 44:22Speaker 1: the idea that Lane has been connecting to people because
- 44:26Speaker 1: is that what happened to Carl and short guy? Did
- 44:30Speaker 1: you just die when you get connected? Because we haven't
- 44:33Speaker 1: seen people in like, we didn't see other people like
- 44:37Speaker 1: in the later part of this episode, just her and Alice,
- 44:41Speaker 1: So like, what happens when you connect to Lane in
- 44:45Speaker 1: the wire? Like, is do you just die and then
- 44:49Speaker 1: exist in the wired? Is that what's happening? Because I
- 44:52Speaker 1: don't feel like Lane would have just gone after a
- 44:54Speaker 1: short guy and Carl, especially after Carl was like I
- 44:58Speaker 1: just like love you. So I'm assuming that's what's going on,
- 45:02Speaker 1: which is just really bad. And also, why did that
- 45:07Speaker 1: guy who paid them, you know, Carl and the other guy,
- 45:11Speaker 1: why was he like happy about this? You know, this
- 45:15Speaker 1: is basically gonna be the end of humanity. And it's like,
- 45:19Speaker 1: even if the wired is connected to the real world,
- 45:22Speaker 1: the wire still needs like electricity and shit to exist.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I think. So if people are just bodyless in the Internet,
- 45:32Speaker 1: I think eventually we're fucked because people have to like
- 45:37Speaker 1: tend to utilities and make sure that they're still running functionally.
- 45:40Speaker 1: And eventually, if the system is going to break down,
- 45:43Speaker 1: we're gonna lose the Internet, whether it's connected to the
- 45:46Speaker 1: real world or not, I think, but I'm not sure.
- 45:49Speaker 1: And then just everybody dies for real good this time.
- 45:52Speaker 1: So fuck. So yeah, I don't think this works out
- 45:56Speaker 1: for everyone in the long run. And I'm glad that
- 45:59Speaker 1: Lane all of a sudden kind of had that switch
- 46:01Speaker 1: where she's like, oh fuck, this guy is leading me
- 46:04Speaker 1: down the wrong path and I have to be more
- 46:07Speaker 1: than a program, like I have to stop this. So
- 46:11Speaker 1: that's all good. I have no idea what I just said.
- 46:14Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean this is really interesting. I'm super confused,
- 46:18Speaker 1: but that's going somewhere, I think. Oh and the other
- 46:22Speaker 1: thing I really wanted to say about this episode that
- 46:24Speaker 1: like really bothered me was why the fuck is Mika
- 46:27Speaker 1: still in the house, Like she's clearly not well and
- 46:35Speaker 1: Lane's parents, her no real parents are gone. They left
- 46:39Speaker 1: to go wherever the hell they went, maybe to you know,
- 46:43Speaker 1: hide from all of this horrible shit that's gonna happen.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Why was Mika left there? Because Mika, you know, they
- 46:50Speaker 1: were acting as her family, so but Mika was too.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I don't think Mika was their kid. I mean, if
- 46:55Speaker 1: Mika is their kid, then it's really shitty that they
- 46:59Speaker 1: left her. But I felt like Mika maybe was also
- 47:02Speaker 1: an actor or something. So like, how come nobody said, Okay,
- 47:06Speaker 1: you gotta come out of there. We're gonna let Lane
- 47:09Speaker 1: live in this house while by herself and make crazy
- 47:11Speaker 1: shit happen. How come they just left her there? But
- 47:14Speaker 1: also what, like, I mean, maybe she wouldn't have left
- 47:18Speaker 1: because she's you know, I don't know what's going on
- 47:21Speaker 1: with her, But you'd think that whoever was the men
- 47:24Speaker 1: that you know, put Lane in the house with this family,
- 47:28Speaker 1: they would come and they'd be like, cool, we have
- 47:29Speaker 1: to get her some treatment because she isn't okay, so
- 47:33Speaker 1: how come she's there being insane but seems mean? So
- 47:40Speaker 1: I think those are just my takeaways from this episode.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I don't think I have anything else that I need
- 47:45Speaker 1: to say here, so yeah, I hope that you're getting
- 47:49Speaker 1: something out of this. I really do. I don't know
- 47:52Speaker 1: what it is, but you can tell me if you
- 47:54Speaker 1: want to, what you think it is, what you think
- 47:56Speaker 1: the messages of this are either this week or after
- 47:59Speaker 1: you hear like the final episode, because I'd like to
- 48:02Speaker 1: hear what you have to say. But uh, yeah, I
- 48:05Speaker 1: don't know. Man. I hope that you are not hating this,
- 48:09Speaker 1: really really do, because eventually I'm gonna do a show
- 48:14Speaker 1: like an anime. We're gonna cover an anime that you're
- 48:18Speaker 1: gonna hate so much that you just hate me. I
- 48:21Speaker 1: think that's my fear. So I hope this isn't the
- 48:24Speaker 1: one it could be. Anyway, I'm gonna go eat some
- 48:29Speaker 1: cantalupe and put my air conditioner back on, and I
- 48:33Speaker 1: hope that you have a really good whatever. I'm gonna
- 48:38Speaker 1: see you next week unless Lots of Fire in the
- 48:41Speaker 1: World ends that. Yeah. Later weeps
