  I'm musician, singer-songwriter, local to the Kingston, PA area,

  So the Kingston area, So what was there somebody that I had on

  Got you. So how long have you been have

  been doing the music thing? Wow, man.

  So I, I was a musician, so I was about four years old.

  I started learning a piano 1st and I was kind of into like the
• 4:40
  orchestra band kind of situation for quite a while.

  When I moved from piano, I went to some more band instruments.

  So was kind of into like, you know, clarinet, some horns.
• 4:50
  Funny story. Quick, I'll tell you about
• 4:52
  clarinet, Why I started, I think it was, I want to say it was
• 4:56
  third grade, 3rd grade, the music teachers would travel
• 4:59
  around the elementary schools, shout out Main Street
• 5:01
  Elementary, it's it's dust now, it's non existent.
• 5:05
  And they would come be like, hey, who wants to play an
• 5:07
  instrument? And I was like, I'll give it a
• 5:09
  shot. You know what I mean?
• 5:10
  Like I already kind of played piano.
• 5:11
  It'd be cool. And so SpongeBob SquarePants,
• 5:14
  I'm sure you're familiar with Squidward, just always sucked at
• 5:17
  the clarinet, you know, And I was like, you know what, man, I
• 5:20
  can be better than Squidward. And so that was like how I got
• 5:23
  into clarinet, pretty much. And I was better than Squidward.

  for the state of Pennsylvania. Yeah, so when it comes to

  musician like so here, that was kind of the reason why growing

  up, I'm probably not. I love music.

  I've I was born and raised as a with a dad who's a DJ and a mom

  who just had music on a lot. And then it's, it's kind of like
• 5:47
  for me, why didn't I ever join the wrestling team is because I
• 5:50
  like pro wrestling, right? So I, I, I wanted to learn
• 5:53
  music, but I didn't want to play what I thought growing up was
• 5:57
  those corny instruments. I wasn't playing flute.
• 5:59
  I want like no one's getting laid playing the tuba, you know
• 6:03
  what I mean? Like.
• 6:04
  I don't know man. If I went to school and they're
• 6:07
  like, all right, here's a Flying V, I'm signing up for band, you
• 6:11
  know what I mean? But but then you're going to
• 6:13
  have 175 guitar players and no one's going to play the the
• 6:17
  other instruments. So do you think learning that
• 6:19
  base of the what they kind of teach in elementary and high
• 6:23
  school and stuff is a great start for a musician?
• 6:26
  Or would you more or less recommend people just picking up
• 6:28
  the instrument they want to learn and go on that route?
• 6:31
  So I mean, I guess it sort of depends when, right?
• 6:34
  I think foundationally it's probably important you get to
• 6:38
  sort of learn how to navigate and manipulate an instrument.
• 6:42
  And it doesn't necessarily matter what it is.
• 6:44
  It's you're kind of making this neural pathway that you can go
• 6:48
  and then apply to instruments down the road.
• 6:51
  So I mean, if you're, if you were like me and you were in 4th
• 6:53
  grade or something like that or third grade, whatever it was and
• 6:56
  you were like, hey, I want to play guitar.
• 6:57
  I mean play guitar, you know what I mean?
• 6:59
  They'd get lessons. There's local guy, I don't know
• 7:01
  if he's still doing. I hope he is Bill Hoffman.

  If you know, if you know that name, he gives lessons.

  Like I think since like, I don't know, Vietnam, probably.

  I think he came out of the womb and there he was like, hey, man,

  I got it. A spot available on Tuesday but

  yeah no, I think that it's it's super foundational and
• 7:19
  additionally to learning how to play I think it opens you up to
• 7:22
  a variety of different kinds of music.

  So it's an unpopular opinion, but there's there's classical

  music in everything that you listen to today.

  Yeah, it's so it's so, you know, stone rock, concrete, it's at
• 7:35
  the bottom of everything. So yeah, I think it's important

  and foundational. And I think that's like what you
• 7:39
  need for anything in life. But music especially, you need
• 7:42
  to have a broad spectrum. You can't focus too much.

  Yeah, I would always be the kid too.

  I always thought about like if I ever had to go to the band, I

  would just not play and just keep it up to my mouth because

  no one's ever going to know like, you know what I mean?

  Like who's going to be like, we're missing 1 flute out of the

  17 flutes here, you know? I just like I'm killing it, you

  That's great. So is your household a music

  household? Anyone else in your house play

  instruments, music. Like what made you fall in love

  No, there's not a single other musician in my entire family,

  which obviously made it very difficult for me to say, hey, I

  think I want to play guitar. And it was like, yeah, do you?

  Yeah, no, Nobody in my family plays an instrument.

  I did have a lot of listening growing up.

  So, you know, I, my parents divorced at a young age for me.

  So my mother was more of like a modern kind of 90s R&B,

  contemporary pop stuff. And then my father was more of
• 8:49
  like the rock'n'roll, you know, alternative stuff.

  And so I got this beautiful confluence of of different kinds
• 8:55
  of music that I got to hear all the time.

  So. Back in Blacks coming from the

  from the bedroom and yeah, Rhythm of My Heart by Rod

  Stewart's Coming out of the kitchen.

  Yeah, that was my house. I was like in a robe, feeling

  myself, you know, I used to have up until, I don't know, maybe I

  was like 9 or 10 years old. I don't remember the age, but my

  basement in my original family house, my dad had a bar and

  there was like, you know, a huge record player built in back

  there and surround sound speakers and stuff.

  So I was introduced to vinyl at an early age too, like after it

  was no longer really popular. So we're talking like early

  2000s, tail end of the 90s. So, you know, people still have

  the Blaine around, but everyone was switching to C DS.

  But I used to be like enthralled to going down there and being

  from the five year anniversary. It was called Heavy Hearted.

  It was a 14 track record. I worked on it for quite some

  time. It had some songs I'd written

  back in like 2017. So some songs that were like 3-4

  years old at that point and some new stuff.

  And I, I got this amazing opportunity when the world shut

  down to like shut the fuck up and do it, you know, like nut up

  or shut up kind of situation. So I used to spend a lot of time

  between here and there was a studio on Orange that's not

  there anymore. And I used to go out there all

  analog studio by the way, amazing.

  And we became really good friends.

  The guy's name was Chris. And we used to go out there like

  almost every day. So I was driving like an hour

  out there. I'd bring a band or I'd bring

  some other musicians and we'd go out there and just, you know,

  record stuff. Somewhere down the road.

  This is going to haunt me. Probably in like 30 or 40 years,

  there's going to be an analog tape discovered, and it's going

  to be me and a band doing a cover of that thing you do from

  that Tom Hanks movie. And it's going to ruin me.

  But it's a great song. But yeah, so I got to do all

  that. And I was in immersed in studio

  environment and immersed in writing and playing.

  And just like, it felt like it was my job, you know, It was the

  first time I ever felt like it was this was the only thing that

  I'm doing everyday and everyday it felt like amazing.

  signing a deal with Big Noise, which was I think two months

  later. And that was awesome.

  guess, like a huge publicist. He like, helped Christina

  Aguilera get her career started. He's worked with the Chili

  Peppers. He got The Beach Boys their

  first Grammy. So dudes just like got more

  And we sent some songs out because the goal was we were

  going to get some songs to the Recording Academy, right?

  But more of the story is I didn't get a nomination, which

  fine, I got what's I guess called a Grammy consideration.

  So I think that's an amazing accomplishment for me.

  It's something that like, if you told 7 year old me that I was

  going to have songs being listened to by the board at the

  Recording Academy, I'd be like, get the fuck out of here.

  contract for a year. I toured while I was with them

  necessarily, but for whatever reason, our differences, you

  contract and we cut it. And so now, unfortunately, the
