Transcript
- 0:16Doing a mini episode here. I'm joined by my brother in
- 0:19Christ. BHV.
- 0:20What's going on, BHV? Yo, what's up?
- 0:24Man, you've been making music, a lot of music over the years.
- 0:28Some of these songs have been exclusive here on the podcast
- 0:30over the last couple months that I've been playing at the end of
- 0:32each episode. But you're going public with
- 0:35your music. Tell us a little bit about what
- 0:37we have to look forward to. Right now I'm going to be
- 0:41dropping. Where would I be actually made
- 0:44that song? That's the first song I made
- 0:46right when I got filled. The Holy Spirit start releasing
- 0:49now and that's coming out July 12th, and the goal is to drop
- 0:53every two weeks, Lord willing. Even have a feature with Rick
- 0:59Rodgers, which is a pretty dope song in my opinion.
- 1:03Probably one of my favorites. But there's also another song
- 1:07we're not going to tell everybody about just yet.
- 1:10And this will be the first time I'm mentioning this anywhere.
- 1:13Also is I'm working on a documentary with some very
- 1:18interesting names. Let's just say I'm not going to
- 1:20drop names just yet, but we have parts of the documentary already
- 1:24filmed and we're working on bringing together something
- 1:27that's never been done for the body of Christ.
- 1:29And there's a song that you perform that I actually wrote
- 1:33the lyrics for that we're going to play at the end of that
- 1:35documentary. But fill us in on like some of
- 1:38your other songs and talk a little bit about the writing
- 1:40process. Like what does that look like
- 1:42for you? Yeah, and most of the other
- 1:44songs are going to be pretty different from Where Would I Be?
- 1:48That was when I was really new into making music.
- 1:53Now I'm a little bit more experienced and I'm letting the
- 1:56Lord lead pretty much 100%. Now I'm not really a writer.
- 2:01I usually just as I go through the day or the weeks, I
- 2:05freestyle into beats and then as I go back and listen to Him, if
- 2:10the Lord says that's the one that we go back and spend the
- 2:13rest of the day, you know, making that song and creating
- 2:17that into a full song. So let me ask you about this.
- 2:21You did a song with Rick Rodgers where he featured on it with
- 2:24you. How?
- 2:26How did that one come about to? Tell you the truth, all of my
- 2:29songs are pretty old because I just don't I haven't been
- 2:32releasing them, so it's hard to bring them up in memory, But I
- 2:36believe I just was making a song one day and then I was like, oh,
- 2:39this sounds like he should be in it.
- 2:41So I created, you know, the rough draft.
- 2:44I sent it over to his, you know, his manager and said, is this
- 2:48something that he wants to get on?
- 2:51And he said, yeah. And it went from there.
- 2:53He I sent it over. He mixed, mastered it, did his
- 2:56part and then sent it back in. That's how that song was
- 2:59created. I wrote a song that you perform.
- 3:05You want to talk a little bit about how the Lord gave you the
- 3:08green light on that or just how it came about it.
- 3:10It was difficult for you. I know that it was not really
- 3:13your style. You're more just organic.
- 3:15You you sing a melody or tune to the Lord and then you create a
- 3:19song by taking it to Him in prayer.
- 3:20But how did you push through and kind of break into this area
- 3:24where you were able to perform a song that the Lord gave me to
- 3:27write? Yeah, you kind of really just
- 3:31caught me in a a good moment in my life where I was flowing,
- 3:38where I felt like, Oh yeah, let me try to get a little crafty
- 3:43and stuff. So when that came up in
- 3:44conversation, I just took and I was like, yeah, I'm about to
- 3:47just go with it. And then it just came that same
- 3:50night. I think it was about what, like
- 3:521:00 in the morning when we were when we got off the phone.
- 3:56And that's how it happened the next day.
- 3:58I did the song and it it was hard to do, trying to fit words
- 4:03that I don't usually speak out my mouth into a song and make it
- 4:07flow. And.
- 4:09Yeah. What do people have to look
- 4:11forward to and where do you prefer the people go and follow
- 4:14you? Instagram, Twitter Drop a
- 4:17handle. The songs are going to be a
- 4:20little different. They're mostly personal about
- 4:23the things I've been going through in my life.
- 4:25You know, that's what most of my songs are about my life.
- 4:29They will switch up as they go, but I'm going to just release
- 4:32all, all of my old older projects and then everything of
- 4:35it that comes out next is going to be straight, you know, from
- 4:38the Lord, more less intimate, but more, more intentional, you
- 4:44know? So yeah, if you want to reach
- 4:47me, you can follow me on Instagram and that would be BHB
- 4:53dot Music and you'll can find all my information in the bio
- 4:57about all my music when it's being released and everything
- 5:01like that. When did you realize that God
- 5:04gave you the passion for music? Why is music something that you
- 5:08you feel that the Lord has called you to do it?
- 5:11Yeah, I guess I just been into music my whole life.
- 5:15Obviously I didn't grow up living for the Lord, but I did
- 5:19grow up in church. And me and my friends, every day
- 5:22after church, we would go in the car and we were freestyle and
- 5:26make music. And, you know, as we were, as I
- 5:28was with other friends, you know, doing things that we
- 5:31weren't supposed to, we were freestyle and just make music.
- 5:34And it was just always something that was enjoyable and something
- 5:37that sparked in my heart, if you want to go that route.
- 5:45But yeah, so it's just been something I've been doing since
- 5:48childhood. I never really actually was
- 5:50intentional about anything until I really gave it to the Lord.
- 5:55And then I was like, you know what, I feel like I can reach
- 5:58people because I I know the sound, I know the music, I like
- 6:01to listen to. I know the people where I'm
- 6:04from, what they like to listen to.
- 6:06And not everybody but my age group.
- 6:09And yeah, that's pretty much. Well, you are a younger
- 6:13millennial, right? What are you, 27 years old?
- 6:15Yeah. And you grew up in southeastern
- 6:18PA just like I did. And just to see what you bring
- 6:21to the table and what God is doing already, how much you've
- 6:25learned, how much you've grown. I really think God is going to
- 6:28bless your music because it's, it's pure.
- 6:31If I play somebody's music on the podcast, it means I, I
- 6:34really rock with it. I really listen to it in my
- 6:37private time. I believe in what BHB is doing.
- 6:40So yeah, if you guys are into the songs that you've been
- 6:43hearing at the end of the episode, I'll drop some details
- 6:45in the show notes where you guys can find a link to go follow him
- 6:50on Instagram, YouTube. Other than that, man, I just
- 6:54want to thank you for blessing me with your music, allowing me
- 6:57to play it on the podcast and, and honestly, I'm excited for
- 6:59what your future holds. Appreciate it bro, come.
- 7:07On you got. You can't do me like.
- 7:09Why can't you just leave the end?
- 7:11Like, come on. All right, you guys, that's it
- 7:15coming to you from Southeastern Pennsylvania.
- 7:18I'll catch you on the next one. Bye.
- 7:37God Bless America and no place else, say.
- 7:43You said no place else. That's the least Christian like
- 7:47thing to possibly do. Oh Lord have mercy.
- 7:52Oh my goodness. And Rock, tell us how you say
- 7:58you don't mess with these these people from Germany to Germany
- 8:01and India and the Mexicans and Puerto Ricans.
- 8:05And stuff like that didn't say nothing about the Spanish Peaks
- 8:07except that I want. I said they send me emails that
- 8:14are not in English and that's why I'm not messing.
- 8:16With them. Tell the truth.
- 8:18It's your boy BHB. You already know what's
- 8:21happening. 2:00 in the morning. Straight fire.
- 8:25Fire.
