- 0:00Hey there, everybody, it's Jeff. We wanted to let you know we
- 0:02recorded this podcast episode on Wednesday, March sixth, twenty twenty four. By
- 0:06the time you hear this, some things may have changed here or there with
- 0:10some of the subjects we get into on this podcast show, but we hope
- 0:13you enjoyed the show. All right, everybody, you're listening to the Philadelphia
- 0:30Sports Table podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show in the
- 0:34world. That's right close to eleven years. This April it will be eleven
- 0:39years of doing this podcast. I'm Jeff Warren. I'm here by good buddy
- 0:43Eric Leonard. We've got a great show, Eric, Man. How you
- 0:45doing, Man, I've been better. But this is a little weird.
- 0:51This is a little weird this podcast show. You and I never look at
- 0:54each other. We're on Skype now, we never look at each other.
- 0:56But we decided to do it at this point in time for some reason after
- 0:59so many years. It's really weird. I'm doing a test rum with a
- 1:02new laptop and I turned the camera on and I was like, let's try
- 1:04it. Like like we've been We've been friends for twenty some years and we
- 1:08never look at each other during the show. No, like it's really weird.
- 1:12Actually yeah, like, oh yeah, we're gonna get shot. And
- 1:18of course me, I was like, my Harlo coquet, even it's not
- 1:22gonna be on video. Hair looks great, man, yours, thank you.
- 1:26I just got it done at the parlor. Yes, my salon.
- 1:33I love Andrea. She's great, she's great. Well, we got a
- 1:37great show for you this week. We're we're gonna, of course get into
- 1:40Jason Kelsey's retirement. We're gonna actually play part of his clip of the speech
- 1:44where he actually talks about the fans and uh, it's a very very poignant
- 1:49and I think a very very important aspect of fandom that he talked about and
- 1:55specifically how it correlates with the world of Philly sports. And we're gonna also
- 1:59get into, you know, Cam Jurgens is gonna be the next guy up
- 2:02on deck at play in the center position. He's gonna have some pretty big
- 2:06shoes to fill. And then from there we're gonna get into the top three
- 2:08best sports speeches of all time, especially after hearing that Jason Kelsey speech,
- 2:14and uh, we uh, we've got some speeches of our own that we
- 2:16have loved in the world of sports in general. From there, we're gonna
- 2:21get into some Zach Wheeler talk. He got a three year, one hundred
- 2:23and twenty six million dollar contract extension with the Phillies. We're gonna give our
- 2:28thoughts there, and then we're gonna gonna get into some Sixers talk. The
- 2:31vibes surrounding this team at the moment and the fact that look, look,
- 2:37Ricky Consel, he's been playing some nice aggressive basketball for the Sixers. Here,
- 2:39we're gonna we're gonna get into that a bit as well. Now what
- 2:43we're throwing down on the table. Eric's waving his finger like, whooped to
- 2:46do? I like this new video element you can yeah, exactly, Yes,
- 2:54Well, what we're thrown down on the table this week, We've got
- 2:57Ryan Quigley from Broadstreet Hockey dot Com. He's gonna join us for a discussion
- 3:00about how the Flyers are doing here. There's some moves were made today,
- 3:05two specific moves. We're gonna certainly be getting into that and how the rest
- 3:09of the season may go, especially after the press conference this past week that
- 3:14Danny Brier held and where this rebuild is going. So let's get into some
- 3:17Eagles talk the fact that yes, an era is over. Jason Kelsey is
- 3:23now retired as a professional football player after thirteen years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 3:28You can head back into our podcast feed this past week, folks, we
- 3:31had not only his retirement speech, but played that post Super Bowl speech as
- 3:37well. And I was on there just talking about how much he meant to
- 3:39the city, how much he meant to the team, the fans in general.
- 3:44But really quick, Eric, I wanna. I'm gonna play really quick
- 3:46for everybody out there, the part of Jason Kelsey's retirement speech this past week
- 3:51where he talked about players who come to Philadelphia and understanding the fans, understanding
- 3:55the media as well. I'm going to play that for everybody right now,
- 4:00and then we'll be back in just a couple of minutes here. It's only
- 4:02too poetic. I found my career being fulfilled in the city of brotherly love.
- 4:14I knew that relationship all too well. Some people struggle to play in
- 4:19this city. They can't handle the booze the media or our fans consider it
- 4:28a great blessing to play in the most passionate sports town in America. The
- 4:32sense of urgency in this city to win has pushed our organization, has fueled
- 4:39it to take chances, fixed problems, and worked tirelessly in an effort to
- 4:42win. At times you hate it as an athlete, especially those new to
- 4:47our city, but when you've been through it enough, you learn to appreciate
- 4:53it. No one celebrates their own like the city of Philadelphia. Athletes become
- 5:00demigods in the city, even ones whose deeds spend decades before. The Eagles
- 5:06are the number one ticket in town, the most talked about thing at nearly
- 5:11every moment. With that amount of attention, you better be ready to overcome
- 5:15the lows that will happen and be ready to persevere in the face of the
- 5:21criticism. Yes, they will let you know when you are not performing well
- 5:30every time, but they will also love you. If you show effort,
- 5:35aggression, desire, the will to fight, they will love you in this
- 5:43city. If you love it the way you love your brother, you will
- 5:50be loved by going above and beyond to show that you care. Because they
- 5:56care. They've been caring for generations in this town about this team, and
- 6:02they aren't about to accept a bunch of excuses and soft ass nonsense. Representing
- 6:08the name on the front of the jersey, something they've invested their entire lives
- 6:12in. If you don't like what the fans and media are saying, as
- 6:15a player, it's very easy love them, treat them like your brothers,
- 6:21and go out and play your balls off, wear your hard on your sleeve,
- 6:28and I guarantee you change those narratives. All right, we are back
- 6:31and look. I mean, he was very passionate Eric. He was very
- 6:35passionate about the fans, of course, but I was a little surprised with
- 6:40regard to the media to an extent, because he he was essentially giving props
- 6:46to a media that I know I've been very critical of as of late,
- 6:49as it pertains to Aj Brown DeVante Smith, how the Philly sports media and
- 6:55it's mainly the radio stations have been antagonizing, completely antagonizing players when they don't
- 7:00need to simply to drum up storylines. I talked to OJ Spivey last week
- 7:03from the Philly Philly Tribune specifically about this, But I mean, I know
- 7:09where he was coming from with regard to the media. Folks that we have
- 7:12on our show like Brandon Lee Gouten, Jeff Kerr, from CBS Sports.
- 7:16There are a number of really good sports media I'm gonna say necessarily figures,
- 7:24but folks that cover the team. Ed Kratz, who have been on the
- 7:28show a number of times. There are really reputable members of the Philadelphia sports
- 7:32media and Eagles media that have covered this team. And I just I thought
- 7:36his words to everybody and to just players around the NFL too, if you
- 7:41come to Philly, you have to expect passion. You have to expect a
- 7:45fan base that is going to be there with you when you are trying,
- 7:48a fan base that is going to kick your ass when you are not performing
- 7:54the way that you should be performing. So, I don't know, I
- 7:57loved that part of the speech because it really imbies, in my opinion,
- 8:01Philly sports. It embodied Philly sports. I don't know what are your thoughts
- 8:03on this, Matt Well, I mean, come at this from the perspective
- 8:09Jason Kelsey, who, I mean, how many how many bad run ins
- 8:13did he ever have with the media in all those years with the Eagles?
- 8:16Really? Really really, I mean I mean it, He's He's a rare
- 8:20exception where he never had an issue with them. He he was drafted or
- 8:26started playing. His first season was with you know, the the Dream Team
- 8:31of twenty twelve. Basically yeah, and like he came out completely unscathed,
- 8:37wound up being like one of the greatest offensive linemen in Eagles history, if
- 8:41not the best center of all time, and was always pretty much had had
- 8:46had a free ride with the media. So and then it got the crazy
- 8:52part is most Philadelphia Eagles don't, like, don't never want to ring right
- 9:00before him, right and eventually catapulted into superstardom because of the Amazon Prime documentary
- 9:07and him being the brother of Travis Kelce and the swifty thing, and like
- 9:13he's leaving on a high note like most most athletes don't. Like he has
- 9:18a full on media career ahead of him and has so many options on the
- 9:22table that I mean, how many how many Eagles leave or retire and it's
- 9:28they they have that many options, you know, Like you think of Donovan
- 9:31McNabb, you know, you think of him like a somebody who did have
- 9:35his jersey retired, you know, it's hanging from the rafters at the link.
- 9:39But he didn't have that the end of the career that you're talking about,
- 9:41like Kelsey had. But didn't finish here, right, and and I
- 9:46mean his his his his his really with the media was was dicey at best,
- 9:52Alan Iverson. I'm just thinking of other players that were here that were
- 9:56like beloved and things just went horribly south. I mean, hell, Mike
- 9:58Schmid, it was a Philly for life. Yeah, pretty much went into
- 10:03hiding after he retired. Yeah, only welcome back with the team like a
- 10:07couple of years later. This guy is so beloved and has so much ahead
- 10:11of him, not just Eagles related, but just like it's hard to even
- 10:15I can't even think of an athlete that compares to what what his career looked
- 10:20like for this, for this city. And again you talk about the speeches,
- 10:26the speech after the Super Bowl, the one they retired. I think
- 10:31he's going out, uh in all timer, we could talk about that too.
- 10:35By the way, I want to kind of throw a question back at
- 10:37you before we go to the speech thing. Yeah, but before I say
- 10:39it, like, I think he probably sat down with his wife and his
- 10:43agent and they were just like, listen, you're not going to be You're
- 10:48not going to ever be any hotter right now, media wise. You have
- 10:50a future here. You want to be able to hold your kids and run
- 10:54around with them. You know, you don't want to turn in one of
- 10:58those guys that has no knees and can move perfect. Time to retire professionally
- 11:05and personally, probably, And I mean, just what a perfect career like.
- 11:07There's really no, there's really no. I can't think of one bad
- 11:11thing to say about the guy, even on his way out the door.
- 11:16It's kind of perfect. When you think of athletes that have had perfect careers,
- 11:18there's hardly any. I mean even a even a guy like Michael Jordan,
- 11:24as amazing as he was when he did the baseball thing. He's in
- 11:28minor league baseball. He's playing for the Washington Wizards. Kind of just a
- 11:33little bit bizarre type of ending to a career. Not that it was bad
- 11:39necessarily, by the stretch of the imagination, a little bizarre. One guy
- 11:43I think that kind of went out on top would be Shack. I would
- 11:46think you could say that Shack kind of went out on top, but not
- 11:48to where Jason Kelsey is. I think you're right, Eric, I don't
- 11:52think any single app I cannot think of an athlete as much as on top
- 11:58of their game as Jason Kelson so he is right now and what he was.
- 12:03I don't think there's an athlete out there that has ever gone out on
- 12:07top like that. I just can't think of one. No, even Shack
- 12:11had his controversies, couldn't couldn't hit a free throw? Well, I never
- 12:15Yeah, played for six seven different teams, like bounced around. I'm trying
- 12:20to like, like, I think maybe Dirk Nowitzki is a good comp stayed
- 12:24with the same team, brought a title to a team to a city that
- 12:28never had one in basketball. Yeah, I'm thinking like, but that took
- 12:31me like two minutes now, just thinking like, I can't even think of
- 12:35somebody York is not going into the realm of reality TV or whatever the hell
- 12:41Kelsey winds up doing. Like Dirk retired, he was done. He didn't
- 12:43do shit after that. I think he's I think Kelsey's career and post career
- 12:50is going to be one of a kind you're not going to see very often,
- 12:52especially not in Philadelphia. And he's somehow navigated through the quagmire of Philly
- 12:58media and came out completely on And I'll throw this question back to you,
- 13:01and this might be another topic for the show, but think about like who
- 13:07is who is the all time Philadelphia Eagle? Is I know right now,
- 13:11recency bias? You want to say, Jason kelcey, I still think it's
- 13:16Brian Brian Dawkins, Like I don't know, Like, where does he ranked?
- 13:20Top three? Top five? It was on all time Eagles list?
- 13:24Where does he rank? He's right there. I've read a tweet from unfortunately
- 13:30it was from a WIP and I believe it or not, a Ray Didinger
- 13:35of all folks, was basically saying that the Brian Dawkins and Jason Kelsey's are
- 13:39in a tier beneath Reggie White, Chuck Bednarik, And I'm like, what
- 13:45is what? No, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry about that. No
- 13:50way, but he is up there, Jason kelce If that's your question,
- 13:54I would say I would say Jason Kelsey's actually higher than Brian Dawkins. Okay,
- 14:01I would say he's higher because he was part of an offensive line.
- 14:07He was part of a unit that was so consequential in this team actually winning
- 14:11its first Super Bowl ever. And I think that is what puts him just
- 14:16over the top, because of that offensive line being so consequential with some injuries.
- 14:22Because Jason Peters if you remember, he was injured. They had to
- 14:24bring Big V in, but the offensive line got it done because of the
- 14:28leadership of one Jason Kelcey. And I hear you. I'm just I'm just
- 14:33thinking all time greats Dawkins is like I hear it, I'm safety. I
- 14:39still think Dawkins is one tier ahead of Kelsey. I think Kelsey's right there
- 14:45though. And but that's how I'm saying. This guy's career was like we're
- 14:48talking about a fucking NFL center. Yes, it might be the number two
- 14:52all time athlete on a on the Eagles team, which is like the cornerstone
- 14:56of Philadelphia sports. Yes, it definitely helped that he had the hair,
- 15:01the beard, He drank a shit ton, He was absolutely himself. I
- 15:05think that really Obviously the lunch pale thing with the city Philadelphia may make fun
- 15:09of it sometimes, but it really does work. I love Our Diddy,
- 15:13but he is bringing his old school. That's like saying Tommy McDonald's ahead of
- 15:18Jason. I love our Reggie. I was here for like four years.
- 15:22Come on, I agree Ben there. I would say Ben erk Is is
- 15:26up there with the famous hit on on Frank Gifford. They won a championship
- 15:33pre Super Bowl. YEP. I think ben Arek's definitely top five, maybe
- 15:37even top three. I think he's in there, But you know, I
- 15:39can't put Regie White up there. I think I think it's Dawkins, Kelsey,
- 15:41Ben Erick and maybe maybe maybe I'm not thinking as I'm missing somebody,
- 15:46But I don't know that that's a discussion to have, like another show,
- 15:50that's a good discussion to have. Yeah, yeah, that's a good discussion
- 15:52to have down the road for sure. And I mean, as we're looking
- 15:56at this Kelsey retirement, it's going to change the Seagulls offensive line. I'm
- 16:00glad, of course, we're all glad. Of course Jeff Stoutlin is sticking
- 16:03around. He's going to be able to coach these guys. He's the best
- 16:07in the business as an offensive line coach. And I'm so grateful that Jason
- 16:12Kelcey had the or I should say, how to say in who his replacement
- 16:18in the future was going to be. They drafted Cam Jurgens last year and
- 16:23he was able to become a great, great starter at the right guard position.
- 16:27He's going to be moving over to center. It's who Jason Kelsey said,
- 16:30this is the guy. This is the guy to take my spot when
- 16:34I eventually do retire, and it's Cam Jurgens. Now he's got some big,
- 16:40big shoes to fill. And this offensive line is going to change a
- 16:45bit here, It really is, because now we don't know who the right
- 16:47guard is going to be. That's a discussion for another time. But I
- 16:51have a feeling Jason Kelsey may be sticking around. I don't know anything.
- 16:53There hasn't been anything tweeted out about it about him coming to training camp helping
- 16:59out the offensive line, helping out Cam. But he's going to be there
- 17:02for Cam Jurgens. He's going to be showing him even more and helping with
- 17:06Cam jurgens development. And if there's one thing that has been consistent for all
- 17:11these years, Eric when it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles, it's the offensive
- 17:14line and how solid it has been. Jason Kelsey's been so much a part
- 17:19of that, him, Lane Johnson and now Landon Dickerson as well Jordan Mylatta.
- 17:26So the center position, man, it's going to be really interesting to
- 17:30see how it all plays out. You know, one thing that jumped out
- 17:33to me after you got through the speech. I'm on Twitter, ex whatever
- 17:37watching the key. The things that really jumped out to me were people are
- 17:42actually like posting Kelsey highlights on the field, right, yeah, not speeches,
- 17:48Like he was just blowing dudes up from the center position, allowing like
- 17:53forty yard touchdown runs. You're just like, my god, this guy was
- 17:57phenomenal. Like anyone who like a nerd who watches offensive line play, Yeah,
- 18:03like like jerked off over this guy. Yeah, absolutely good. That
- 18:07jumped out of me too. I was like, man, not only was
- 18:10he just like perfect for the city, it was just a great player.
- 18:12I'll ask you this. I thought about this when I saw the topic.
- 18:18Do you think it's is it harder to fill the shoes of an alzheimer or
- 18:23is it harder to fill the shoes of a failure and all the pressures on
- 18:30you to like step up, like say say okay, Like who was the
- 18:36guy? In twenty thirteen, the Eagles drafted that defensive end weighed like two
- 18:40hundred and thirty pounds. It was one of the worst draft picks of all
- 18:44time. Do you remember his name in twenty thirteen? It was, Yeah,
- 18:48it was. It was one of the worst draft picks they ever had
- 18:52twenty twelve, twenty thirteen, I remember that. I think the twenty twelve
- 18:56draft it was the right it was the right tackle, Danny Watkins. Well
- 19:00that one, but there whatever, Like you have a horrible draft pick,
- 19:06guy doesn't work, you get drafted to replace that guy. Is it is
- 19:10it more pressure to replace that because that person was such a failure. If
- 19:15you don't succeed, you're going to be a triple failure, double failure.
- 19:18Yeah, whereas you're replacing an all timer. But there's such good will for
- 19:22that person and for you to step in. Do you think it's harder to
- 19:26fill in the al Teimer or the harder to fill in the complete draft bus
- 19:30failure. I think it's I think it's harder to fill the shoes of somebody
- 19:34who's an all time great. By the way, twenty fourteen, I think
- 19:37you're thinking Marcus Smith. Yes, yes, Marcus Smith for the draft.
- 19:41Yeah, yep. So so in that case twenty fourteen, we're going ten
- 19:47years ago. Thank god for one Brandon Graham who was able to step in.
- 19:52They were able to You were able to either draft players or acquire players
- 19:56through free agency that really were able to take the failures and kind of mask
- 20:02them, and I think that's why it's a little easier to do that.
- 20:06You look at Danny Watkins again, him being drafted. I think it was
- 20:10twenty eleven he was drafted, and it's like, Okay, after a year,
- 20:14you knew it was a terrible, terrible draft, and you were actually
- 20:18able to get somebody in there who was actually able to play the position after
- 20:23that, And I'm actually forgetting who the right tackle was after that because Lane
- 20:27Johnson wasn't drafted until twenty thirteen. Lane Johnson's now been in the league for
- 20:32over over ten years. So I think it's easier to fill fill that void
- 20:37of the failure than it is to replace somebody who's an all timer. It's
- 20:42just a question I had in my head. I was walking the dog because
- 20:45I think a dumb show and I walk the dog just mindless nonsense. I'm
- 20:48just thinking, like I think, for Cam Jurgens, this is actually this
- 20:52is a this is one time where it might be easier because he's kind of
- 20:55anointed by Kelsey, like this is my replacement. Yeah, just dollon in
- 20:59the house. This guy can do it. And I think most fans know
- 21:03that, man, I Marcus Smith, I'm sorry, I'm just blown away
- 21:08again. I remember when they dropped him and seeing a picture of my dad
- 21:11and I going, this guy looks like a basketball player. What the like,
- 21:15who the hell is this guy? But that's a great one. Like
- 21:18Brandon Graham stepped up and took like took that spot, and he was like,
- 21:22but I'm sure I did back of his money. He's like, oh
- 21:23my god, if I don't do this, I'm Marcus Smith too. A
- 21:27disaster this is And then you got to deal with the media. I don't
- 21:30know. I just had that thought, like, man, what a I
- 21:33don't know what's worse but the good luck to Cam Jriggerd's it's not going to
- 21:37be you're filling the shoes of a Hall of famer, not just a Hall
- 21:40of Famer, but a guy's going to be on the Today Show and all
- 21:42over the social media, and it reminded constantly that you were replacing one of
- 21:47the best of all times. Absolutely well, this is all a good segue
- 21:51the Jason Kelsey speech that he gave his retirement speech. Again, like we
- 21:55said, you know, we knew that he gave that amazing Super Bowl speech
- 21:57post Super Bowl speech. It's a great segue into our next topic, which
- 22:02is our new top three list here at the PSD podcast show the top three
- 22:07best sports speeches of all time, Eric Buddy, I'm gonna let you start
- 22:11first. What's your number three? Here? Okay, my number three?
- 22:15Number one? I like really short. I love like like locker room or
- 22:22like waiting to go on the field speeches that are real short, really fiery,
- 22:26like let's go kick some ass. Yeah, And my first one is
- 22:30read at the halftime of some Miami game. This is it right here.
- 22:36I'm hard. Don't don't ask me if I'm all right? Hell no?
- 22:38What me? They dominate and we not doing it. I'm putting my heart.
- 22:45Let's man's and that's all it is. Like the dude separated his shoulder,
- 22:55they popped it back in, he put his ads back on, he
- 22:57goes out there, they go out into the stadium, they're down seven.
- 23:03I was like, you pussy's. I am so hurt. My heart is
- 23:06in this and you are just let me to held down, like, oh
- 23:08my god. And he's one of the biggest ball like let my nuts hang
- 23:14out kind of players all time, So like I can't imagine being his teammate
- 23:18and being like, I played all right in the first half and he's in
- 23:21my face, going, really, I step aright my shoulder, you want
- 23:25to step on maybe out Like, I can't imagine playing with him, dude,
- 23:29it would make me step up. I love that little speech. That's
- 23:32a great that's a great speech because he's basically just punching you in the face.
- 23:36He's punching you in the fucking face with words. That's what that was
- 23:38right there, because you yes, yeah, I love that. Look my
- 23:45number three. Eric. It is definitely some recency bias here because I am
- 23:49actually gonna go with Jason Kelsey's post Super Bowl speech. Yeah, I have
- 23:55to go with it one because again the recency bias, the fact that the
- 23:59Philadolph Eagles actually won the Super Bowl and we never thought, I mean,
- 24:03in doing this podcast as long as we have, we never thought we were
- 24:04going to see that day. We never did. But that speech specifically honed
- 24:11in on the fact that folks didn't believe in the team, not the fans,
- 24:15because they were the underdogs that year. They were wearing the dog masks
- 24:18in the playoffs and at the end of the season there it was the national
- 24:22media. It was a bunch of pundits who did not think that this team,
- 24:26this the Eagles team in twenty seventeen, was going to go to the
- 24:29super Bowl. Jason Peters was injured, Carson Wentz injured in that La Rams
- 24:33game. It was over franchise quarterback done. Nick Foles of course does what
- 24:38he does and he just went through as we know, Jason Kelsey did the
- 24:42list of every starter on the team where somebody doubted them, and it was
- 24:48the most Philadelphia speech, Philly sports speech ever And that's why I got to
- 24:52put it on here. That's my number three. I mean, big dick
- 24:56Nick Yes, and just someone who lived in Philadelphia and had experienced the numbers
- 25:03parade multiple times. It's it's an absolute piss fest ship show. I love
- 25:10it. I lived there for a while, but it really is a disaster.
- 25:14And those those I bring it up because those costumes are fucking heavy.
- 25:18Yeah, there's a lot of ship going on. And he wore the full
- 25:21fucking regalia grade knowing full well that he would be beloved. You think that's
- 25:26what I'll give that dude credit for. He's from what Cincinnati? I think,
- 25:30ye Ohio, Well, Cleveland Heights all right, I think it's called
- 25:33Cleveland Heights. Yeah, yeah, but he's from He's from an area that
- 25:37like loves where they live. Yes, and he understood Philadelphia right away.
- 25:41I mean, what didn't take him long for him to wear that ridiculous fucking
- 25:45outfit that I can piss in and pukene for many many years. What a
- 25:52what a what a just bo on the on on the gifts. That's just
- 25:56perfect. He understood the city so well. Yeah, absolute, all right,
- 26:00who's your who's your number two? Here? Uh? Number two?
- 26:03I will say number one. I'm not a fan of Red Sox Nation,
- 26:08just not. I have a new love for Boston after being there recently.
- 26:14You and I have talked about that on the show and not even sure on
- 26:17the show, but whatever, Boston, good city. But David Ortiz after
- 26:23the Boston bombing the marathon on TV live TV just saying this is my this
- 26:33is our fucking city. Awesome and then they're not going to dictate our freedom
- 26:37to us and then stay strong, which became a huge thing on the shirts
- 26:41and became like a rallying cry post you know, post that bombing, and
- 26:47just kind of became a thing for Boston and kind of across the country.
- 26:51The States strong thing. But just the fucking nuts on the dude to say
- 26:56this is our fucking city on live TV just fantastic. I love it.
- 27:00There's a reason whenever you go to any of the casinos up there in Massachusetts
- 27:04or Connecticut, and that dude, that dude's placard, that dude's cardboard cutout
- 27:11is everywhere, Like he is a god up there, just like Jason Kelsey
- 27:15is in Philadelphia. And I think that speech has a lot to do with
- 27:17it. I think that's great, that's great. I love these I love
- 27:19your speeches here. Like you said, it's not like these long speeches of
- 27:22people, you know, it's just the little nuggets of people talking, which
- 27:29are speeches, of course. But you're absolutely correct, he is a god
- 27:33up there. And that's one of the reasons why that speech after the bombing.
- 27:37And you know, as much as I have disliked the Red Sox for
- 27:42many, many years for various reasons, he's one guy I've actually always respected,
- 27:48I really have, whether he was playing in the field or even you
- 27:52know, off the field too. You know, of course, there were
- 27:53some off the field type stuff with him, every now and again. But
- 27:57he just a stand up who loved his city and I got a given credit
- 28:02for it. He's he's a top twenty. I would say if he played
- 28:06for the if he played in our city beloved, Oh yeah, we would
- 28:11have worshiped him with a short porch and left field. I'm sorry, right
- 28:15field, he would have. He would have destroyed in Philly. He's a
- 28:19top twenty all time. Like if he played here, we would have loved
- 28:22him absolutely all right. Well, my number two now is where I start
- 28:26going with the softy stuff. I start going with the softy stuff. Jimmy
- 28:33Valvano, That's what I'm going with here. Appearing at the first SB Awards
- 28:38back in nineteen ninety three, as many no, former North Carolina State basketball
- 28:45coach just gave an emotional and very motivational speech while accepting the Arthur Ash Courage
- 28:51and Humanitarian Award of Valvano. He was suffering from cancer at the time,
- 28:55announcing that the the foundation. He announced it there and urged everyone to quote,
- 29:02laugh, think, and cry every day words that also appear on his
- 29:06tombstone anyway. He said, cancer can take away all my physical abilities,
- 29:11it cannot touch my mind. It cannot touch my heart, it cannot touch
- 29:14my soul, and those three things are going to carry on forever. And
- 29:19what a what a great speech. If you go back and you actually listen
- 29:22to it, you just kind of look, you may get a little misty
- 29:25here and there. It was a great, great speech. Uh what's my
- 29:29number one? So? Oh that one was your number one? Oh see,
- 29:32I had it. I had a okay, So that was that was
- 29:34your number one? All right, Well give me your thoughts on why it
- 29:38was your number one, because it was a gun wrenching Oh my god.
- 29:44So I listened to all the speeches. I was walking my dog earlier just
- 29:48to rehear them, you know, And I haven't heard the I didn't listened
- 29:52to val. I listened to valvan speech like once a year, just to
- 29:55check in. Yeah, because the sentiment is so it's just so beautiful,
- 29:59and it you get older, you start to understand it more because he was
- 30:03he was a he was a guy kind of facing his fate, and he
- 30:06had a family and he had kids, and and you hear in your twenties
- 30:10and you're like, I kind of get it. You're in your thirties,
- 30:11you have a kid and you're your forties and like your you know, the
- 30:15potential of cancer as you get older kind of you just you just it just
- 30:18it has different meetings in your life. Every year you hear it. Every
- 30:22year you take a little piece of it out. Like I probably didn't relate
- 30:26to the laugh or yeah laugh cry being thought thing when I was in my
- 30:33twenties third but now now I'm like completely understand it, like that that is
- 30:36a day just like Jimmy's Jimmy V said at the time when I remember,
- 30:42ten years after it came out my dad had cancer. I remember here,
- 30:45I remember listening to it at post that and just being like, oh my
- 30:49God, Like it was like a punch to the stomach. But like I
- 30:53said, like every single year I listened to it, and I'm like,
- 30:56man, he really like he really had the word, Like he he knew,
- 31:03he knew who he was, his life was just like his life was
- 31:07like the end was right here, yeah, and he knew it and he
- 31:10just had all this great perspective. But not just that the God was fucking
- 31:14funny. Yeah, Like the beginning of the speech was phenomenal. He talks
- 31:18about talking to Rutgers basketball because he was a fresh he was a freshman coach,
- 31:22and he did the Green Bay Packers screw up. But the best part,
- 31:26by far is when the guy's like flashing the light saying you have thirty
- 31:30seconds, and he just goes, get the fuck. He's like, I'm
- 31:33gonna talk for however long I want to talk, and he goes, phenomena,
- 31:37buddy, Yes, she does the hands. He was phenobena. He's
- 31:45like, I'm gonna die in a month, asshole, Like I'm exactly,
- 31:48here's your thirty seconds. Yeah, thirty seconds. I got two years old
- 31:53my body. I'm gonna be dead in a few weeks. Jerk off.
- 32:00Oh my god. And that's the thing with that speech. The three things
- 32:04he talks about make you laugh, make you think, make you cry.
- 32:07He does all the three things, all those three things to me in that
- 32:12speech. A like that. That's how meaningful that speech is. To man,
- 32:15it's amazing. It's a great number one. I was actually thinking about
- 32:19doing that for my number one too. But I mean, I'm actually I
- 32:22actually got Lou Garriggs his Luckiest Man speech. I mean, so many of
- 32:27us who love sports know that speech where he says for the past two weeks
- 32:31you've been reading about a bad break, he said, a bad break?
- 32:37Are you kidding? A bad break? Yet? Today I consider myself the
- 32:40luckiest man on the face of the earth. And then he said, in
- 32:44closing, you're or so, he said, So I close saying that I
- 32:49might have been given a bad break, but I've got an awful lot to
- 32:52live for, he said, But the fact that he is calling what he
- 32:55had a bad break after seventeen years in baseball. There was humility, and
- 33:01that's what I loved about his particular speech, his farewell speech was the humility
- 33:07and the human nature about it, and it it moves anybody, of course
- 33:14who listens to it. It was either Bravo's or lou Garrigs number one for
- 33:19me, So I went with lou Gherriggs. Here what strikes me about Gerrek's
- 33:22speeches When he says I caught a bad break break, But you want to
- 33:28laugh at it, right, like, yeah, you caught a disease,
- 33:30it's named after you. What what that fucking blows? Yeah? But when
- 33:36he says like I caught a bad break, that means I mean, what
- 33:37he's saying is like my life was amazing. I'm so lucky to have had
- 33:42this life, and like, I think Jimmy V's kind of has the same
- 33:45sentiment to it. But I still can't not think about Dennis Leary's stand up
- 33:52special where he's just like, yeah, God, like man, they named
- 33:58a disease after you, Dude, that's the worst fucking disease ever. I
- 34:02mean, what an honor? But what what not? An honor? That
- 34:06sucks? Yes, great lists, great lists here. Hope you enjoyed that.

- 34:47at Mister Jeff Warren, Eric's on threads at Slen ten twenty three and the
- 34:53show at Philadelphia Sports Table. We are gonna take quick break, we get
- 34:57back. I'm gonna get in some Phillies talks, some sixers to and Flyer's
- 35:00talk. Stick around. We'll be right back. All right. We are
- 35:05back and boy Zach Wheeler and this Philadelphia Phillies team coming together getting that three
- 35:10year, one hundred and twenty six million dollar contract extension signed. Man,
- 35:15I love the fact, and so do every Phillies fan I think out there
- 35:21that I have read on social media is the fact that Aaron Nola and Zach
- 35:25Wheeler are going to be here for the next four years. Eric, I
- 35:28mean, of course, it was a no brainer. I was recently talking
- 35:31to one of our guests specifically about this where is it? I think it
- 35:35was Jeff Kerr from CBS Sports, Like, is the Zach Wheeler contract extension
- 35:40going to be the next big contract to get signed by a Phillies player?
- 35:45And yeah, that's what we were talking about on the show. It actually
- 35:47happened here, and it's a no brainer. Of course, it's a no
- 35:52brainer. But Zach Wheeler coming over to the Phillies, if you remember with
- 35:55D. D. Gregorius and Zach Wheeler was kind of like the afterthought.
- 36:00I remember during that press conference. D. D. Gregorius was more the
- 36:06shiny new object in Philly more so than Zach Wheeler. But at the end
- 36:09of the day, it wasn't for Zach Wheeler or this team would not have
- 36:12gotten as far as they have the past couple of seasons, for sure,
- 36:15And again a no brainer deal. I love it, and it's gonna be
- 36:19great seeing him on the mound here in Philly for the next few years.
- 36:22And if you remember that, the subplot with Wheeler was injury prone. Yeah,
- 36:25he had one great season and then you can't expect him to have more
- 36:30than ten games the next year. And I was fearful, and they got
- 36:34they got away with a cheaper deal with him, if you remember, initially
- 36:37because he could not stay healthy and they were bad injuries like elbow stuff,
- 36:43and he throws so damn hard. Yeah, but he's finally rounding it into
- 36:46like he's just a he's an ace and like he's getting Redy for my fantasy
- 36:52baseball team. And Zach Wheeler is like one of the top guys, and
- 36:57I'm like trying to find who has him? Is he a keeper? And
- 37:00I'm like, holy shit, man, we we have like a top five,
- 37:02top six ace and he's worth every penny of man forty two million year
- 37:07I know WHOA damn not bad? No, I should have kept my arm
- 37:14going at A. I mean, I'm not as hung as our co host
- 37:17Lent Huntsickerho throws ninety eight, you know, and you gave him three miles
- 37:22an hour. It's ninety five. It's still hilarious. I've seen him throw
- 37:27a baseball. He's still he still holds onto this this idea. Were you
- 37:31with the one Fantasy league draft at my old house before we ended up moving
- 37:36where cheers? Yeah? Yeah, And he threw the ball right into the
- 37:39ground like ten ft in front of him. I threw a monster fastball,
- 37:44you did, knocked the chair over? Yes, that's right, I was.
- 37:46I was like Dave watched, you know, and I knocked it over.
- 37:50I was like boom, And then Lend threw it in the cress grassy
- 37:55way. Zach Wheeler is not Lent hunts Sicker. And we for three years
- 38:00and this is the perfect pairing for a team that's obviously you know there this
- 38:06is a veterany V three v's at the beginning, like you had to resign
- 38:13both these guys because this is what you got. You have, no you
- 38:15got, you got start. I mean, come on, like, we
- 38:19know we have we know we are and you got like a two year window
- 38:22maybe and you you had to do these deals. And thank god he resigned
- 38:24because if he left, who the hell's your ace. It's part of the
- 38:29culture, I think. I think it's part of the Phillies culture that they've
- 38:30built. Of course, you know, guys not only want to come to
- 38:34Philly, but guys want to stay here as well. It's it's part of
- 38:37the culture. I can't believe it. And the fact that you know,
- 38:42the fact that it's weird going into this season thinking it doesn't necessarily matter if
- 38:47they win the NL East, doesn't necessarily matter if they win the division at
- 38:52this point, get in and do what you've done the past couple of years.
- 38:55You know, they've they they've taken apart the Braves in the postseason.
- 39:00Who cares if the Braves win one hundred and two games? Who cares?
- 39:02They've been they've been taking care of business of the postseason. They're in Miami
- 39:07heat of Major League Baseball. Go just get in and you're talented enough.
- 39:12You have Jimmy Butler in, Bryce Harper, Kuna has some knee issues.
- 39:17Yeah, like there's getting his knee scoped and scrape. That ain't good,
- 39:22man, So again, just you win any nine games, get in and
- 39:27just see what the fuck happens. Yeah, and Keith Wheeler and Nola healthy.
- 39:32You have your races. All you need is like the rest of it
- 39:35to kind of filter out. But for three years, I don't I don't
- 39:38sign the checks. So yeah, pretty too well for an ACE. It
- 39:43pretty good to me. So that sounds great, absolutely, all right,
- 39:45what are you thinking about this deal? What are you thinking about this Philly
- 39:49season? Philadelphia Sports Table at gmail dot com. We'd love to read your
- 39:52email here on the show and respond to it. But you know what,
- 39:54we are gonna have to take another quick break really quick here, and we'll
- 39:59be back in just bit with some Sixers talking, some flyers talk. We'll
- 40:01be back in just a bit. All right, We are back, Eric.
- 40:05We got to get into the Philadelphia seventy six ers here and the vibes
- 40:08surrounding this team at the moment. Did they actually beat the Grizzlies tonight?
- 40:14I've did they actually lose? Jesus Christ? Oh, Nick Nurse? What's
- 40:21going on here? Look, Tyrese, Maxey was out, Kyle Lowry not
- 40:25playing in this particular game. Not that Lowry is going to be the difference
- 40:30maker at the end of the day. However, boy man, it's just
- 40:34man not having him beat on the court. It is rough as we knew
- 40:37it was going to be. I didn't know it was going to be this
- 40:39rough, though. I mean, when you're losing to Memphis, Holy freaking
- 40:43crap. Vibes not all that great? Eric, I love in your email.
- 40:49What are the vibes of the Sixers right now? Holy shit? Man?
- 40:54If I live my life through vibes like some people do, I know,
- 41:00I'd be in a field somewhere naked alone, like I can't deal with
- 41:02shit. This This team sucks ass. Let's just say it right now.
- 41:07Yeah, you and thinking night like tonight, where the Grizzlies have no Shamrand,
- 41:14the Sixers have no Max no embiid that you're Toby Toby Harris step up
- 41:20with you making forty million. He's making Zach Wheeler money by the yes thirty
- 41:24five minutes by Toby Harris three for twelve from the field. Oh god,
- 41:29and he had eight points and six rebounds. It is incredible to me.
- 41:37I'm gonna I'm gonna let that sit out there exactly well, because I know,
- 41:40heading into the All Star heading into the All Star Break, I was
- 41:44looking at some stats and when it came to Tobias Harris at that point he
- 41:49believe it or not, Eric he was actually averaging seventeen points per game.
- 41:52And I know he had a pretty good first couple months of the season and
- 41:55started trending downward. But I read that like seventeen points per game, and
- 42:00I'm like, holy crap, what when did that happen? And now we
- 42:06just see a complete derailment of his of his effort. His I don't want
- 42:10to say the talent's not there, but it's more the effort where dude,
- 42:14he's not even take he's not even taken charges. By the way he is.
- 42:17I think he's the only player in the NBA charged his entire career exactly
- 42:22but this season, like I think he's the only NBA player who has yet
- 42:25to take a charge. It's something weird like that. I wish you could
- 42:32take a charge and just fall into a sack of money which he has stolen
- 42:37from because like what more, what what can you do for us at this
- 42:42point? Asshole? Yes, I can't stand the guy, and this is
- 42:46his last season with the team. I expect nothing at Nick Batoom out of
- 42:51campaign, But like, I don't know the vibes around the team without MAXI,
- 42:57without NBA. It's it's a complete waste of time. It really is.
- 43:00And this is not a this is not a Philly situation where you can
- 43:04just sneak in at the end. Yeah, and Maxim b coming back,
- 43:07Like, no, this is We're not gonna make the playoffs at this rate.
- 43:10Yeah, exactly, I beat Max. Max he's got a concussion.
- 43:15I He'll likely be coming back in the foreseeable future here, thank god.
- 43:19But that's not gonna guarantee them. That's not even gonna guarantee them one of
- 43:23the wild card spots. It's not you know. So so meanwhile, I'm
- 43:28sitting here trying to think in like an idiot, I'm trying to think positively
- 43:32about Okay, what do we see with this team that's actually been positive?
- 43:35And that's why I put next on on the topics. I'm like, Okay,
- 43:38you know what, Ricky Counsel, He's been playing some pretty good basketball.
- 43:43It's been nice to see, you know, he's we cover his stats
- 43:45tonight, Okay, go ahead, Ricky played nine minutes, one point one
- 43:53rebound. Oh god, all right, Well, maybe I take this back.
- 43:57I don't know. I'm just from the eye test, he's been incredibly
- 44:00aggressive and just I mean against the Celtics. Is play on the court against
- 44:06Jason Tatum in that recent game and the recent game against the Bucks. I
- 44:08mean, those two games really stood out with regard to his play on the
- 44:13court. And it seems like after the All Star break there are some positives
- 44:16specifically with Ricky Counsel. Not tonight against the Grizzlies for whatever reason, but
- 44:22I think there have been some positives with him. Jeff Hammy a switch played
- 44:25in a Sixers uniform. I can go out there and be aggressive. Out
- 44:30signs dab Tatum. I'm i gonna score any points agive. I'm basically going
- 44:35to Sean Anthony Ricky Council did tonight. That's that's grasp at straws here.
- 44:38This is bad. This is twenty thirteen, twenty fourteen process. Horseshit.
- 44:45I guess this is where right now, and this is We're not going to
- 44:49make the playoffs at this rate. I've said one hundred times we're gonna have
- 44:52to have an eight hour process show. I mean it's gonna be like we
- 44:59got to just sit and go through each year piece by piece. No one's
- 45:02gonna want to hear this, by the way, just me, you and
- 45:05Len. That's like and ten people, Simon and and uh uh uh.
- 45:12That's pretty much the idea. Just four weeks, We'll get Tom west On
- 45:15from over in England. He's awesome, Tom west from Libertyballers dot Com.
- 45:19We get him on too, even six hours and he'd be like tell us,
- 45:22I love you, but but go fuck yourself. He is God,
- 45:30you know. Okay, this is how I'm grasping at straws as well,
- 45:32grasping of straws with regard Ricky Counsel. But like, I'm like, man,
- 45:37this team really needs something defensively, and I'm like, they really need
- 45:39to get Robert Covington back from a defensive STANDFI. I was like, looking
- 45:44at some stuff. I actually played twenty six games this year for the team.
- 45:47I felt like it was like ten games. I mean, it didn't
- 45:51feel like he played twenty six games this year. But man, like his
- 45:54defensive skill set on the court they're missing, they are. I think what
- 46:00happens with players like him is we like fall in love with the twenty fifteen
- 46:04version of that person. Yeah, you know, I think we all love
- 46:08that version. But he's he's the His knees are made of peanut britle at
- 46:14this point versus of and uh yeah, it just sucks. And this team
- 46:19is a thirty five and twenty seven. They're just collapsing fast. It's I
- 46:25hope your flyers do something you said Danny Brier today? What do they do?
- 46:32So they they signed Sealer to Nick Sealer. He has got a he's
- 46:37got a four year contract extent good in my opinion, good money. We're
- 46:40probably gonna be talking to the Flyers. Yes, I love it. You
- 46:52know, I don't know anything, no idea. Did Danny Brier have a
- 46:55have a really polite Canadian press conference today? He had a great It was
- 47:00great. Okay, it was great. Well he did a few days ago,
- 47:05of course, like they traded Sean Walker to the Avalanche and twenty five
- 47:10first round draft pick so they're doing good stuff with the rebuild. Here.
- 47:15We're gonna get to it in a few minutes here with our guests. No,
- 47:19you know, we're the Flyers. We're gonna out there to play heard
- 47:22and it's like we heard. We're gonna work hard. They're third in the
- 47:24Metros Paulitan Division. They're going to the playoffs. If the playoffs started like
- 47:29next week, Flyers are third in the Metro. I'm gonna start making fun
- 47:32of him because my team, my six, ain't gonna make the fucking playoffs
- 47:35at this point. They're not. There's actual vision coming from the front office
- 47:39of the Flyers, and I know we're gonna get into with our guest Ryan
- 47:43Quigley in a bit. But it's like good stuff. And Bill Seeler is
- 47:45gonna be a huge part of this. Bill Sealer, it's Nick whatever,
- 47:51Bill, Hello, Hello, Bill Im Stealer is my favorite? You say,
- 48:01Tom sever Tom Sealer? Yeah, I was saying Severer. All right,
- 48:09buddy, I'm gonna let you go here. Do you have anything else
- 48:12before we head out? No? No, okay, I do the show
- 48:15next week. I have nothing going on. Yeah, if you want to.
- 48:19I mean, I was gonna reach out to lend. Let's do it.
- 48:22I like this video thing too. I kind of like it's way better.
- 48:25It's way better because I can like watch your face and I know I
- 48:30can say something stupid. I know when too. Yeah. So, and
- 48:34after Friday I got oh, you got exactly all right, We're gonna tell
- 48:43you a quick break, folks. We'll be back in just a bit.
- 48:46All right, we are back. Let's get to what we are thrown down
- 48:50on the table this week. Lots of flyers talk. Let's get to it
- 48:52and now on the table and joining us from broad Street high Hockey dot Com.
- 49:00You know we love Broadstreet Hockey dot Com. I am a subscriber,
- 49:02you know, we love the folks over there. And it's his first time
- 49:06on the PSD podcast show. We've got Ryan Quigley, Ryan Man. How
- 49:08you doing, Buddy, Jeff, I'm doing great. Thanks for having me
- 49:12on the pod. Yeah, this is yeah, first time I've been on
- 49:15this pod. It's it's I mean, I've been seeing you guys all over
- 49:17Twitter for all these years, so good to you guys. Absolutely, it's
- 49:22great. You know, we've had Kelly Hinkel on over the years. We've
- 49:24had some other folks from the broad Street Hockey crew on and it's great to
- 49:30finally have you on, and what a day to have you on, Ryan,
- 49:32because again, like we mentioned earlier in the show, it's March sixth
- 49:37Wednesday. I'm sorry here this week where Flyers are making some moves, Buddy,
- 49:43I am so I'm just excited for this Danubrier, I don't even want
- 49:46to call it an experiment at this point, because you know, we're we're
- 49:50about a year or so into his tenure, and it's amazing that they've traded
- 49:57Sean Walker to the Avalanche for twenty twel twenty five first round pick Nick Sealer.
- 50:01Even though he's on ir right now, he's going to miss at least
- 50:05a couple of games here. Signed him, i should say re signed him
- 50:09to a four year extension. Man, it is exciting times here in Flyers
- 50:14Nation. Things are happening. This has not been the case the last two
- 50:19years. We're right before we started hitting record, like Chuck Fletcher, these
- 50:22things do not happen in the Chuck Fletcher era like this. This is very
- 50:27much a product of the change, like you know, the writing of the
- 50:30ship, the change in leadership here and Danny Bay Baby he's making things happen,
- 50:36so you got to be happy about it. Absolutely. I think we
- 50:38knew Sean Walker was probably on the way out, but look, he's been
- 50:44a fantastic defenseman this year for the Flyers. And again, you know,
- 50:47a did I say a first round pick because I think it is. I
- 50:52think, okay, a fifth round pick in twenty twenty six from the Flyers
- 50:57and also a first round selection in twenty twenty five. Along with Ryan johannesson
- 51:05Oh my Gosh, I freaking mess up names constantly on this podcast. That's
- 51:07the stick here. You're new here, Ryan, My stick is especially in
- 51:12hockey. I screw up names time and time again. Folks email us and
- 51:15they're like, Jeffy stink. You can't even say Smith correctly. So you
- 51:20a great sport to be messing up in the names. Exactly, there's quite
- 51:23a few of them to mess up in Exactly. It's a great deal here,
- 51:27though, it's a great deal, and certainly this team and this organization,
- 51:30you know they're gonna miss Sean Walker. But he was here for a
- 51:35reason. He was here for that veteran presence, I think, to help
- 51:39some of his younger core players out, and I think he's done that,
- 51:43and we appreciated everything he's given to this team. But I think we all
- 51:46kind of saw this coming. Yeah, I mean the writing was kind of
- 51:51on the wall, like honestly since before the Flyers even traded for him from
- 51:55LA. So I wrote a story a couple of weeks ago. I interviewed
- 51:59Sean walk one on one and I basically said, like, you know,
- 52:02walking me through what's going through your mind ahead of the trade deadline, Like
- 52:06the rumors are out there. I'm sure you've heard them. He can't really
- 52:08escape them, Like how do you prepare for the trade deadline when you're in
- 52:14the position you're in now? And he basically said, I'll be honest with
- 52:16you, like I've kind of known that I was probably going to be dealt
- 52:20at the trade deadline since my day's in LA. Because it's like, listen,
- 52:23I'm an expiring contract. They're probably the Kings are probably going to trade
- 52:28me this year, and then next year, next year's trade deadline, I
- 52:31might get moved again. So he and his family have kind of been like
- 52:36preparing for this for a long time. Yeah, So it's it's a crazy
- 52:40thing, but like I'm happy that it's worked out the way it has for
- 52:44him, like for himself, because listen, he had an amazing year this
- 52:47year, or he has had an amazing year this year. He's been arguably
- 52:52the Flyer's most steady defenseman. I would say he has been yep. And
- 52:55you know, after dealing with what he dealt with, he had that rough
- 53:00acl MCL injury that destroyed as I think it was, the twenty one to
- 53:04twenty two season. Comes back played twenty twenty two to twenty three, not
- 53:09totally one hundred percent. This is his first real season back at full health
- 53:15in a couple of years. And so he's playing great, and he deserves
- 53:20to go somewhere to a contender where there's like a legitimate shot from to win
- 53:22the Cup. Because listen, as good as the Flyers are playing right now,
- 53:27they ain't winning the Cup, Jeff, I'll tell you right there.
- 53:30And like people can say, oh, you never know what happened to the
- 53:32playoffs, but like, let's do what I think we know. Yeah,
- 53:37like let's maybe chill out for a second. So I'm glad to see him
- 53:40go to a legit jug or not team and the Flyers get the first round
- 53:45pick. So like both best of both worlds. Both sides win absolutely real
- 53:51quick. Want to get your thoughts on the Sealer extension here. It's two
- 53:55point seven million dollar annual average pay that he is going to be getting from
- 54:02the Flyers overall four years to ten point eight million dollars, an extension that
- 54:07sees him staying in Philly through the twenty twenty seven twenty twenty eight season.
- 54:13Another win I think for this Flyers organization and for Danny Brier and what he's
- 54:16been doing here in the front of office. Yeah, I don't mind the
- 54:20extension. Early on, yeah, earlier on today I heard, you know,
- 54:24there were some reports saying it could be up to three point three mil.
- 54:28To me, I think that would have been a pretty serious overpay,
- 54:30And I guess you could argue that even two point seven is a little bit
- 54:34of an overpay. But what I'll say is that he is he does bring
- 54:39a lot more to the table than what's just on the ice. And now
- 54:44on the ice, like he we just saw him last season in the season
- 54:47before he was in and out of the lineup like it wasn't it was pretty
- 54:52regular that he'd be a healthy scratch this year. He's been legitimately good.
- 54:57Like legitimately good, he leaves the entire NH block shots and he they revere
- 55:04him in the locker room like he's one of the more popular guys in the
- 55:07room. And I feel like that is valuable. I feel like that truly
- 55:12adds. It's a lot like Scott Lane. Like yes, last year we
- 55:15heard the rumors about Scott Lawton, probably like they turned down a first round
- 55:19pick for Scott Lawton because they thought that his leadership abilities were so valuable.
- 55:24And it feels like that's kind of a similar vibe to what Nick Steeler brings.
- 55:29Now. What's interesting is if there's if I have one qualm with this
- 55:35extension, I do think it's the term because I feel like four years is
- 55:38just like three years. I'm like okay with right. It's like he's about
- 55:44to be thirty one in June, Like he's not exactly young, and what
- 55:47he has put his body through is insanity, like he was on the other
- 55:52night he got knocked out of the game after the UH late in the second
- 55:58period, but then he comes back in the third and like, I mean,
- 56:00who knows what happened to is what his foot even looks like right now.
- 56:04Yeah, can't even have met probably the size of a blimp, but
- 56:07you kind of touched on something really quick. Ryan though that I talked to
- 56:10your colleague over at Broad Street Hockey, Kelly Hinkel about it some time ago.
- 56:15There are certain players within professional sports that bring that intangible aspect of leadership
- 56:21to a locker room and just to the guys off the field, off the
- 56:24ice, off the court, and there is something to be said for that.
- 56:28And I think in this day and age of professional sports, there are
- 56:32folks that can be paid more money simply because of their leadership and what they
- 56:37can bring to a younger core and what they can bring to the overall vibe
- 56:42and feel of a locker room. It's that intangible, and it's like,
- 56:45how do you put a value on it. I don't necessarily think you can.
- 56:49It's one of the reasons why I really don't have an issue with this
- 56:52particular contract extension in this resign, because we're talking about that, We're talking
- 56:57about those intangibles here, and that's why again, I have no issues with
- 57:00it at all. And he's one of those guys. He's just one of
- 57:04those guys, and I'd love to know that he is in there in the
- 57:07locker room with some of these young guys, really teaching them the ropes and
- 57:10and showing them what this game of hockey is in more ways than one,
- 57:15on and off the off the ice. Yeah, and you're totally right.
- 57:19Yeah, Like, and another thing about Seiler is he kind of has this
- 57:22vibe of being like an alpha dob monster when you're like, when you're a
- 57:29teammate of his, like, imagine, like you've seen how fiery he is.
- 57:34He's got that fire in him, and you know, imagine being his
- 57:37teammate and then you miss an assignment and like you know, you missed the
- 57:40past to him or something like I would not have to chew it out by
- 57:44Nick Seeler. Right, He's the kind of he's the kind of teammate who,
- 57:46like, you don't want to disappoint him because one he'll probably kick your
- 57:50ass and two he just he seems to be that type of leader like you
- 57:55just you want to make sure that you're playing well when you're playing next to
- 57:58him. So yeah, I don't know, he does bring absolutely that element
- 58:02of like leadership and you know, just kind of those intangibles. Yeah,
- 58:07And so I actually saw something I saw people online kind of comparing him to
- 58:14Nick de Laurie, and I feel like there are a lot of different I
- 58:17think that's an Apple's an orangest situation because Nick Delaurier, he does bring those
- 58:22intangibles. He's got the toughness, the grant, you know, the locker
- 58:25room leadership like you name it. He's got that. But I don't think
- 58:30there's any denying is on ice capabilities are definitely limited. I think Nick Sealer
- 58:37has legitimate on ice capabilities are that bring serious value to the table. And
- 58:42then when you add the leadership and the intangibles to it it, then yeah,
- 58:46I think you could argue that two point seven is a totally fair figure
- 58:50for him and that four years is more than enough for him to kind of
- 58:53leave his mark on the Flyer's locker room. And there are young guys for
- 58:58a long long time. Yeah, I think it's a good thing for sure.
- 59:00But as we're moving along here, Ryan, I wanted to I wanted
- 59:04to reflect on Danny Brier's press conference that he had this past week where he
- 59:07said, you know, quote, everything is on the table in terms of
- 59:10the trade deadline, and I know we just got into some of those moves
- 59:14that were made here with this front office. But by the time some folks
- 59:19here this podcast, trade line is gonna likely have come and gone. There
- 59:22may be more stuff coming down the pike. We're not sure, But I
- 59:27wanted to get your opinions in a more general sense of what your overall thoughts
- 59:30were concerning that press conference with Danny Brier from this past week. Is it
- 59:35pertained to where this team is really heading this season? When you reflect on
- 59:39that press conference, what was like your biggest takeaway from it just in terms
- 59:44of the direction and the pathway the team is going. Well, not too
- 59:49much of what he said surprised me. I think, honestly, if there's
- 59:53anything that kind of impresses me with these trades that we have seen and that
- 59:59you know, the ones that we may see in a couple of days,
- 1:00:04I think they're being really true to their word. And I think there was
- 1:00:07a lot of worry the last couple of days after hearing some reports from certain
- 1:00:10people all about you know, on thirty two thoughts on on Monday with Elliott
- 1:00:15Friedman and Jeff Merrick. They basically said, Oh, I wouldn't be surprised
- 1:00:16if they go out and buy and I think a lot of we'll kind of
- 1:00:21creep out a little bit when they hear that, But because that just completely
- 1:00:25would have contradicted every single message that Danny Brier and Keith Jones and the entire
- 1:00:30triumvirate of leadership has told the fan base. And so it's good to see
- 1:00:36them following up and holding true to their plan and their mission of building for
- 1:00:42the future, because that's what this is. That's what the trade of Sean
- 1:00:46Walker. That is absolutely weird looking to the future because they're in the playoffs
- 1:00:52and they just sold it off probably their best defenseman, or at least one
- 1:00:57of them, given the fact that this team is real with injuries in terms
- 1:01:00of the defenseman exactly. I mean Jamie drys there, I mean Risto,
- 1:01:05I mean the list, it appears to just go on and on. It's
- 1:01:08a long laundry list of guys and defensemen who are injured. Oh yeah,
- 1:01:13yea yea. If there was ever a time to keep the defenseman, that
- 1:01:16would be it, because you have no defenseman to play, yes, But
- 1:01:21they decided to go ahead and make the leap anyway, and I think that
- 1:01:24deserves serious I think I think it's commendable. I really do. They're sticking
- 1:01:30to it, and I think they made the right move. So yeah,
- 1:01:34I think, you know, just judging off his comments, anything is on
- 1:01:36the table. I think that's the right mindset to have. I mean,
- 1:01:39we still got a couple of days here. Scott Lawton's out there. I
- 1:01:43don't know if if he'll get moved. Honestly, I don't think he will.
- 1:01:46I don't think he will. Yeah, I don't think he actually will.
- 1:01:50But like, who knows, Like if they get offers, maybe not
- 1:01:52necessarily for Scott Lotten, but if they get offers for someone else on the
- 1:01:57team, who knows what can happen. And I feel like that's the right
- 1:02:00mindset that you have to have, not only just as a general manager for
- 1:02:05any team, but specifically for a rebuilding team like the Flyers right now.
- 1:02:08So yeah, there's another gentleman on this team that I wanted to get into
- 1:02:13and not necessarily the most popular guy by any stretch of the imagination on this
- 1:02:19team, but he's a member that has really been shown us some stuff recently,
- 1:02:23and that's Tyson Forrester. Look, he has been driving play by the
- 1:02:28numbers and passing the two way eye test all season here. The advanced metrics
- 1:02:32are there for him. But the one thing he really hasn't done for the
- 1:02:36great majority of this season score up until recently, you know where he's he's
- 1:02:40just given some really clutch performances and getting the puck into the back of the
- 1:02:45net. So I'm wondering, Ran, how would you assess Tyson Forster this
- 1:02:50season and what he means for the team moving forward here. Well, so
- 1:02:54he's been good all season long. Now we're starting to see him find hitting
- 1:03:00the back of the net. And it's it's funny that, like the one
- 1:03:02era he wasn't excelling in was goal scoring because that draft back in twenty twenty,
- 1:03:08that was his thing. Like that, all the scouts are just like,
- 1:03:12man, you know this kid has skating issues, but boy does he
- 1:03:15have a shot. And then like he comes to the NHL and he's having
- 1:03:17a hard time scoring goals, right, but he's everything else run And I
- 1:03:22think that's what the surprise was for a lot of people, was him coming
- 1:03:24in and not only driving play but like absolutely being just a dynamite two hundred
- 1:03:31foot player. I mean, he's we saw it against the Senators, like
- 1:03:36he created that penalty shot goal totally by himself, Like he caused the turnover
- 1:03:43at the blue line, he raced down the ice with the pocket, he
- 1:03:45drew the penalty, and then he capitalizes on the penalty shot, and it's
- 1:03:47just like, that's incredible work from a player his age. And it's just
- 1:03:52you, I mean, you look at his stats now. I think he's
- 1:03:55got on like five goals in his last six games or something. Yeah,
- 1:04:00yeah, yeah, he's just he's just he's playing like a batter. And
- 1:04:05the fact that he's twenty one years old is excuse me, twenty two years
- 1:04:11old. He the fact that he's only twenty two years old and he's playing
- 1:04:14this responsible two hundred foot hockey, and the fact that he's won over John
- 1:04:17Tartarella as quickly as he has, you can't help but be over the moon
- 1:04:21about this kid. He just has so much potential and just his smarts and
- 1:04:27the way he sees the ice and the way he plays he plays the game
- 1:04:30right, and yeah, I mean, what a what an awesome development.
- 1:04:34The Flyers are sitting right now with Forester. He's been great. It's been
- 1:04:39fantastic to watch him on the ice for sure. And again folks, we're
- 1:04:41talking to Ryan Quigley from broad Street Hockey dot Com. He is on the
- 1:04:45Twitter slash X. I hate saying X, but I guess we got to
- 1:04:48do it every now and again at Ryan Quiggs. He is a great,
- 1:04:51great follow Catch everything that he and his colleagues are doing again over at broad
- 1:04:56Street Hockey dot com. You know we love our espanations. Well you're not
- 1:05:00even espanation anymore? What am I talking about? Screw you? Guys?
- 1:05:03Did I say that earlier? I said that earlier. I swear to God
- 1:05:08as somebody needs to slap me in the face here. Please have Kelly slapped
- 1:05:12me in the face. There are many other members of broad Street Hockey time.
- 1:05:15I'm a subscriber, for God's sake, Dear Lord, I hate Oh
- 1:05:19my gosh, I'm pretty sure I said it earlier, and I can't wait
- 1:05:24to see the emails I'm going to be getting in the direct messages. All
- 1:05:26right, So we're moving along here, Dear God. As we're moving along,
- 1:05:32a two part question for you here in terms of development, in terms
- 1:05:35of, you know, what we've really been excited to see and really what
- 1:05:40we've been kind of disappointed in terms of seeing this season as well, because
- 1:05:43of course everything's not one hundred percent perfect, but we've really been seeing some
- 1:05:45good stuff from this team as well, given their place in the Metropolitan Division.
- 1:05:49So who's that one player this season, Ryan that you're most excited to
- 1:05:55see develop in the future and why and who you've really been enjoyed watching.
- 1:06:00Yeah, well, I mean I think we have to harken back to the
- 1:06:02guy we were just talking about, Like Tyson Forrester is his kid that and
- 1:06:05I mean you can't help but be just thrilled with what you're seeing at him.
- 1:06:09But if we have to go away from Tyson Forrester, I mean Bobby
- 1:06:13brink Is, he's showing some stuff. Like now, granted he's had an
- 1:06:16up and down year, like he started the year he basically knocked down the
- 1:06:20door like the big Bird emoji or the big Bird gift of him just knocking
- 1:06:26down the door and the yeah, like he is just he's started, he
- 1:06:30had that great training camp, comes in and he plays well early on in
- 1:06:33the season, lost a little bit of steam, was sent down crushing the
- 1:06:39AHL and now he's back up and it looks like he's still trying to figure
- 1:06:43out the You know how to get on the right page with Torts. But
- 1:06:45for the most part, like we see the creativity from Bobby Brick, Like
- 1:06:49we see what he is capable of doing. And I it wasn't long ago
- 1:06:55he made a I can't remember which game it was, It might have been
- 1:06:58against Ottawa. He made a real, real nice play where he basically was
- 1:07:03driving the net and kind of went behind it a little bit and did this
- 1:07:08no look spinning backhand passage. Yeah, and it didn't result in the goal,
- 1:07:13but that is a creative play that you want to see your young players
- 1:07:16making. And I feel like he has that creativity that the Flyers kind of
- 1:07:20lack offensively, Like, you know, I think he's been one of the
- 1:07:26This is gonna sound weird because he hasn't really been in the lineup for like
- 1:07:29maybe half the season, but like, I feel like he's one of their
- 1:07:31better power play players. I mean, he's you put him on the half
- 1:07:35wall, he looks comfortable and he's finding the guys. He's he's passing guys
- 1:07:40open, he's making the right reads, he's making the right plays. He
- 1:07:43might not have the points to back it up, but I feel like he
- 1:07:45has serious, serious potential as a power play kind of half wall guy,
- 1:07:51kind of like Drew. I'm I'm not saying he's he's gonna be up to
- 1:07:54Dreux's level, but like kind of that due spot on the half wall.
- 1:07:58So I like that. I'm yeah, I love such in terms of a
- 1:08:01development player, you know, a guy who has been developing. That's what
- 1:08:05we have been wanting to see with various players on this team. But on
- 1:08:09the flip side of things here Ryan, who's the one player that you're actually
- 1:08:13more disappointed in regarding their development this season? And why? Yeah, I
- 1:08:18think, uh, in that respect, I think I would have to kind
- 1:08:21of lean toward Igor's and Mula He's this is yeah, this is not to
- 1:08:27say that he's been bad like he's he's he's hot and cold like some nights.
- 1:08:31Some nights he will have a bad game and the other night still turn
- 1:08:34around and it'll be one of a better looking defenseman on the team. And
- 1:08:38so it's just he needs to find that consistency, I think, and I
- 1:08:43have you know, I really don't have any doubts that he can get there.
- 1:08:46I mean, we've seen what Brad and Shaw and John Tornrela have done
- 1:08:49when they're with this blue line, like over the last couple of seasons,
- 1:08:54like I mean Nick Stealer for example, last last couple of years. Yeah,
- 1:09:00and now you look at Nick Stealer and he's like a bona fide,
- 1:09:02you know, middle pair defenseman. And now we'll have to see what happens
- 1:09:06when, uh when with you know, when he's out there without Sean Walker,
- 1:09:11because I mean there's a very legitimate possibility that Seawn Walker could have been
- 1:09:15driving that pair, and he was a very very good play driving defenseman.
- 1:09:17But yeah, I think it's it's interesting seeing igor Za Mula just kind of
- 1:09:24finding his way here. They signed him this pass offseason to like this,
- 1:09:28you know, this one one year like very you know, cheap contract,
- 1:09:33and yeah, I guess it's kind of like a prove it type deal and
- 1:09:39uh yeah, I don't know, like you would like to see a little
- 1:09:42bit more out of him, a little bit more consistency. It'll be interesting
- 1:09:46to see what they do with him this this offseason because I feel like he
- 1:09:50does have the potential to be a real good player. He's got the length,
- 1:09:54he's he's a rangy guy. If we've seen that, like weirdly enough.
- 1:09:59He as soon as they started giving him power play minutes, he kind
- 1:10:01of fixed it for a second, like he got to fix the Flyers god
- 1:10:05awful power play right and somewhat competence. So and that's not totally on him,
- 1:10:12but like he's I feel like he helped. So yeah, I don't
- 1:10:15know. I think I would like to see a little bit more out of
- 1:10:17him. And uh, you know, if they decide to bring him back
- 1:10:21next season, I think he could take some more steps forward. Very good.
- 1:10:25I like that a lot, very very good. I want to get
- 1:10:28into the goalie situation on this team here, because Sam Erson, my gosh,
- 1:10:31has done a great job this season in front of the net. In
- 1:10:35my opinion, he's picked up the goalie mantle. He has run with it,
- 1:10:42you know, since the crap hit the fan. With regard to Carter
- 1:10:45Hart's situation, Ryan, how would you grade Arson's season thus far given his
- 1:10:51backup goalie expectations at the start of the season and where he is actually at
- 1:10:56right now. Yeah, well, so if I had to put a letter
- 1:11:00grade on it, I'd give him a solid B B plus. I give
- 1:11:02him a B plus. Yeah, Yeah, I think he's been really really
- 1:11:05good. I mean you look at what he was kind of thrown into,
- 1:11:10like it's it's kind of coraz. Like you don't see situations like this very
- 1:11:15often where you know you have a starting goalie, legal situations come up,
- 1:11:19and then all of a sudden surprise, Sam, You're the new starter of
- 1:11:23the Philadelphia Flyers, right. I think he's taken this situation. I think
- 1:11:27he's taken the opportunity and run with it. He's been really, he's been
- 1:11:30excellent all year. I mean, you look at his stats a little bit.
- 1:11:32I mean I think he has three shutouts. Yeah, three shutouts,
- 1:11:38two five seven gaa point eight nine nine save percentage, so like nothing incredible,
- 1:11:44but like also like you kind of take you gotta also take into account
- 1:11:47his first few starts of the season, they were bad. They were like,
- 1:11:54yeah, he won twelve goals in the first two games of the season,
- 1:11:57like it was, it was awful. And then he came in another
- 1:12:00and he allowed two goals on nine shots. It was just it wasn't great.
- 1:12:03But like since then, honestly, he's won the vast majority of his
- 1:12:09games. He's been very very good. And listen, do I is he
- 1:12:15going to be the Flyers number one for years and years to come that I
- 1:12:18don't know yet. We still got to see a little bit more out of
- 1:12:20him, But I think he's totally deserves to be the Flyers number one going
- 1:12:28into next season. I think he's been very good and I just feel like
- 1:12:32his potential is very high. He just seems to be really mentally tough,
- 1:12:35Like just the way he came in and handled his whole situation. I really
- 1:12:41really respect just how he's handled himself. And uh, yeah, I think
- 1:12:45I think he's been awesome. And now the backup Cooley situation, that's a
- 1:12:47whole different story. Yep. Yeah, I mean cal Peterson. They tried
- 1:12:54it out, failed miserably. He's back in He's back in Lehigh Valley where
- 1:12:58frankly, I think he kind of lungs there, which is sad because a
- 1:13:01couple of years ago people Vadio is the air apparent to Jonathan Quick out in
- 1:13:04LA and so now he's an HL goalie. But I'm kind of excited to
- 1:13:10see Felix Sands from a little bit more because over the last couple of seasons,
- 1:13:15Felix s anstrum, I feel like I was playing behind some real bad
- 1:13:18teams. And granted, like, listen, I know Tortorella was around last
- 1:13:25year. Like things started getting better a little bit last year, but you
- 1:13:29still had that weird room. Things were weird in locker room, and you
- 1:13:33know Proverrob and DiAngelo, like we've heard reports that they weren't exactly the best
- 1:13:38fits in the room. So it just it feels like this is a much
- 1:13:43better environment for a guy trying to kind of really establish himself as an NHL
- 1:13:47player. So we'll see what Felix can do here. I feel like he
- 1:13:53has the potential to legitimately be a solid backup in the NHL. We just
- 1:13:57have to find out. Well. As we are running out of town,
- 1:14:00I'm here, Ryan, just wanted to bounce off one last topic with you
- 1:14:03before I let you go, buddy. And it's this tough stretch the Flyers
- 1:14:08have coming up. I mean they're gonna be playing some pretty good teams.
- 1:14:11I mean they've got two games against Panthers, I think coming up, two
- 1:14:14games against the Bruins, I got two games against Maple Leafs. They've got
- 1:14:16Carolina, the Rangers, Tampa Bay. What are you hoping to see from
- 1:14:20this young core guys during the stretch of play. You know where where there
- 1:14:25is some pretty elite talent, some really good talent on a lot of these
- 1:14:29teams here, given where they're at in the Metropolitan Division, given some of
- 1:14:31the some of the moves that have been made here, and there's probably by
- 1:14:34the time folks hear this and by the time we upload this, there may
- 1:14:38be actually be some more moves made. I don't know, what what are
- 1:14:42you hoping to see from this young core guys. Yeah, well, I'll
- 1:14:45tell you one thing I'm definitely hoping to see, and it's not even so
- 1:14:47much the young core, but I want to see how the the new Nick
- 1:14:51Stealer pairing fairs. Now. Brandon, I know he's out for a little
- 1:14:55bit. I know he's out for I know they put him on IR So
- 1:15:00it's going to be at least, I believe seven days. It's going to
- 1:15:02be a fact two two to three games. I think perhaps at least so
- 1:15:06helped me out a little bit. Yeah, but when he comes back,
- 1:15:10I'm very curious to see how the Flyers drive play with him on the ice,
- 1:15:15because they have you know, historically the season they'd been great at driving
- 1:15:18play forward with him on the ice. But again, is that more a
- 1:15:23is that more a result of him being out there with Sean Walker. I
- 1:15:26guess we'll find out. In terms of the young guys, though, I
- 1:15:30think I really want to continue seeing just a strong two hundred foot play because
- 1:15:35listen, like we've seen it all year, like a lot of these young
- 1:15:39like Bobby Brink, we've seen the scoring touch out of him. But I
- 1:15:44don't think we're going to be seeing anybody, just any of these young kids
- 1:15:46just all of a sudden lighting up the scoreboard night in the night out,
- 1:15:51because that's what the Flyers have last all season, not just from the young
- 1:15:55guys, from the team at large, Like goals have hard to come by
- 1:15:58for this team. So I think I want to see just good two hundred
- 1:16:01foot play from everybody, which I know sounds like such a hockey man response,
- 1:16:05but like I feel like when you're a young player, like it's important
- 1:16:09to kind of figure those things out, And yeah, I would like to
- 1:16:13see. I want to see Tyson Forrester continue to be like a shut down
- 1:16:16winner, which is crazy to say, but I would like to see some
- 1:16:20more of that. I would like to see Morgan Frost maybe be a little
- 1:16:24more physical he's been. I think he's improved in that area. I would
- 1:16:28like to see him kind of get back to being a point producing machine,
- 1:16:30kind of like how he was in the second half of last season. Yeah,
- 1:16:34I feel like this is going to be a time for the young kids
- 1:16:38to really step up because they have no choice. They have choice. Yep.
- 1:16:43Yeah. If there's going to be a time for them to take the
- 1:16:45next step and really improve their game, it's now because they have to because
- 1:16:49if they don't, the Flyers don't have the talent to beat these teams,
- 1:16:54like they just don't. They might outwork them. Like that's a very legit
- 1:16:57possibility. We've seen it. We've seen in them at work better teams than
- 1:17:00them and still lose. Great example, the Toronto Maple Leafs game, Austin
- 1:17:05Matthews just was like, I'm gonna score three goals tonight, I think,
- 1:17:09and he did. And then the New York Rangers, like they outworked the
- 1:17:13Rangers a couple of weeks ago, and they frankly were the better team,
- 1:17:16but they didn't have the bounces. So that's that's what they need. I
- 1:17:20feel like they need the young guys to step in and really really just go
- 1:17:27that extra mile during this this stretch here, because it's gonna be it's gonna
- 1:17:30be very challenging. It's gonna be very challenging. For sure. We're gonna
- 1:17:33keep up with it. They're gonna be keeping up with it. At Broadstreet
