- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. I was thinking — we've covered so many everyday spots, but there's one place we haven't visited yet in Telugu. Luna: Oh, which one? Let me guess... a pharmacy? Lucas: Exactly. A pharmacy. It's super useful to know when you're traveling or even living in a Telugu-speaking area. So today, we're going to learn how to buy medicine. Luna: Perfect. Because I actually had a headache this morning, and I would've been lost without these words. So let's start. How do I ask where the pharmacy is? Lucas: Great question. That's... where is the pharmacy? Lucas: Right. ఫార్మసీ is pharmacy, ఎక్కడ is where, ఉంది is is. So literally, pharmacy where is. But it works. Repeat after me: ఫార్మసీ ఎక్కడ ఉంది? I think I got it. So then I go into the pharmacy. What do I say to the person at the counter? That means I need medicine. So నాకు is to me, మందు is medicine, కావాలి is want or need. Lucas: Exactly. Now, you might want to specify what kind. For example, for a headache, you'd ask: That's asking if they have medicine for headache. తలనొప్పి is headache, and ఉందా is is there. Lucas: Perfect. So you walk in, you say నాకు మందు కావాలి, and then తలనొప్పికి మందు ఉందా? Let's practice that together. That felt good. So the pharmacist gives me something. But I need to know how to take it. How do I ask about dosage? That means how many tablets per day? So రోజుకు is per day, ఎన్ని is how many, మాత్రలు is tablets. Lucas: Exactly. And then, of course, you want to know the price. So you say: ఇది ఎంత? Luna: ఇది ఎంత? That's how much is this? We've used this before, right? In like every shop we've been to. Lucas: Right, it's a classic. So let's put it all together in a little scene. You're at the pharmacy, you go up to the counter. Lucas: Then you say: Lucas: The pharmacist hands you a box. Lucas: And finally, you ask: ఇది ఎంత? Luna: ఇది ఎంత? Perfect. I feel ready to go to a pharmacy now. But wait, I want to make sure I remember all these. Can we go over them one more time? Lucas: Of course. Repeat after me: ఫార్మసీ ఎక్కడ ఉంది? Lucas: You did great. And you know, this is exactly the kind of practical vocabulary that really helps you feel confident in a new place. That's why we love doing this show. Luna: Yeah, and I love that we keep it ad-free.
