- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Almost Famous Podcast with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Welcome back to Almost Famous. This is truly one of
- 0:08Speaker 2: my favorite days of the week when I get to
- 0:10Speaker 2: jump on and talk to my co-host, Lauren.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Oh, hi.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Hi. About the ultimate girls trip from the Real Housewives
- 0:22Speaker 2: season 20 or the roaring 20s. We're celebrating 20 years
- 0:25Speaker 2: of this thing. We see that during this episode quite
- 0:28Speaker 2: a bit. The ladies start the episode in lingerie. They
- 0:31Speaker 2: have an emotional gangster lunch. I still want to know
- 0:34Speaker 2: what that means when you say gangster lunch. There's a
- 0:36Speaker 2: lot of gangster talk, mob talk, but there was... I
- 0:40Speaker 2: don't really understand what that was. And then the episode
- 0:44Speaker 2: ends with a Halloween party that I kind of feel
- 0:48Speaker 2: bad about. And I'll tell you why later.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Oh, my God. You're going to leave me hanging on that? Okay.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. That's what the art of podcasting is, Lauren.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You just like drop cliffhangers. The problem is half the
- 1:02Speaker 2: time I forget to actually talk about it. And so
- 1:04Speaker 2: the cliffhanger just lives out there forever. Wow.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Just pissing people off.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Okay, so we'll get to the gangster lunch, which I
- 1:13Speaker 4: found to be very interesting. But first, we start at
- 1:16Speaker 4: the lingerie party. A lot of these women look amazing,
- 1:19Speaker 4: and they're in their 60s, and they look bomb, but
- 1:22Speaker 4: they are in Miami, so we know that there's been
- 1:24Speaker 4: some alterations done.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah, very perky. Yes. Very perky for 60s.
- 1:30Speaker 1: We love to see it.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yes. Here's a couple questions I have about a lingerie party.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 1:38Speaker 2: When you, when, I'm not going to say when you,
- 1:40Speaker 2: you know, I'm not going to ask you to speak
- 1:42Speaker 2: for yourself. It's okay. When women go to a lingerie party,
- 1:47Speaker 2: is the mindset, hey, I want to be the sexiest.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I want to be the most fashionable. Do I want
- 1:53Speaker 2: to stand out the most? I mean, we saw everything
- 1:55Speaker 2: here from corsets to like see-through bras. I think that's
- 2:00Speaker 2: what you call like that thing.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we literally saw nipples.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I would say personally, mine would be to like, make
- 2:08Speaker 4: sure my body looked the best out of everyone's, even
- 2:10Speaker 4: if there was like tape involved, it needed to be
- 2:12Speaker 4: the best. I don't really don't care if I'm like,
- 2:14Speaker 4: you know, you could tape things.
- 2:16Speaker 1: In the place.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Uh, yeah, but definitely like, you know, put the boob
- 2:23Speaker 4: tape to lift them a little bit. There's lots of
- 2:25Speaker 4: contraptions out there. Um, I would use, um, definitely fishnet
- 2:30Speaker 4: stockings because that is very sexy and it hides any
- 2:35Speaker 4: cellulite you have.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Interesting. I remember like back in the day, like stuffing
- 2:41Speaker 2: was always like a kind of like a conversation. Like
- 2:44Speaker 2: do they stuff their bra or not? But I feel
- 2:47Speaker 2: like watching this stuffing would be popular, right? Like you
- 2:52Speaker 2: would definitely do that and it would be acceptable.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 2:57Speaker 4: I mean, you're talking middle school, high school with the
- 2:59Speaker 4: stuffing with like when you had to use tissues, right?
- 3:03Speaker 1: Or whatever you could find really. But now they've made advances.
- 3:06Speaker 4: So there's actually like flesh colored chicken cutlets you can
- 3:09Speaker 4: put in and tape and hooks and everything.
- 3:14Speaker 2: This is not hooks. This sounds so painful. You said
- 3:17Speaker 2: tape and I thought I had to take a bandaid
- 3:19Speaker 2: off of my ankle last night and it hurt me.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah. You're not meant to be a woman.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Like tape on very sensitive areas of your body. Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And then at the end of the night here, okay,
- 3:33Speaker 2: here's my question. And I'm just asking you, I think
- 3:36Speaker 2: this is what the housewives have done for me. I've
- 3:38Speaker 2: had a lot of curiosity when it comes to, to women,
- 3:41Speaker 2: even though I've been married for five years, my wife
- 3:43Speaker 2: is just, you know, she's a skincare expert. She's not
- 3:46Speaker 2: doing a lot of other things.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I was going to say she's low maintenance, but I
- 3:51Speaker 4: don't think she's low maintenance with her skincare.
- 3:52Speaker 2: No, very, like very intentional about our skincare, very low maintenance.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Like if we're going out to dinner, she can get
- 3:58Speaker 2: ready in 10 minutes.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Every girl.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Trust me. It's awesome. But if you're I'm imagining
- 4:05Speaker 2: these housewives, they're going to a lingerie party. They all
- 4:09Speaker 2: throughout this whole season, at least a few of them
- 4:11Speaker 2: do seem very horned up. If they meet a guy. OK,
- 4:15Speaker 2: walk me through this. They meet a guy at this party.
- 4:17Speaker 2: They go back with him and they start to like kiss.
- 4:22Speaker 2: then things progress. At what point then, like, is the
- 4:25Speaker 2: guy going, let me remove your hooks, tape, cutlets. Like,
- 4:30Speaker 2: how does that work?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Well, you know, if there's tape, I would say, excuse me,
- 4:36Speaker 4: let me go get the tape off before. Like, I
- 4:38Speaker 4: don't want you seeing that, but if there's chicken cutlets
- 4:40Speaker 4: and stuff, those are very easily removed with like your
- 4:42Speaker 4: bra and stuff.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 4: It's not that embarrassing, but also like think of the
- 4:46Speaker 4: mindset of a horned up man too. Um, if you
- 4:50Speaker 4: had to remove some tape, you wouldn't really care.
- 4:53Speaker 2: No, I guess not. But it would. No, probably not.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Exactly. Exactly.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Sometimes with Hunter, I'm just like, I didn't shave. He's like,
- 5:02Speaker 4: do you think I care at all?
- 5:05Speaker 2: Is that going to stop me?
- 5:07Speaker 4: Nope.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Well, we do see, like we said, the women show
- 5:09Speaker 2: up to this lingerie party. We were curious about this party.
- 5:12Speaker 2: What was it? What is it? What's it about? I'm
- 5:15Speaker 2: enjoying the women from Miami because being in Honduras so
- 5:20Speaker 2: often and having some of my friends marry Hondurans. Um,
- 5:24Speaker 2: and being obviously just growing up in life and like
- 5:27Speaker 2: the Latin, um, spouses that I'm around, like they are feisty.
- 5:31Speaker 2: It's just a thing. And like, they're not, this isn't
- 5:33Speaker 2: like a, a stereotype. They just are feisty. They're feistier
- 5:37Speaker 2: than most. They speak their mind. It's something I enjoy
- 5:40Speaker 2: being around because you always know where they stand. And
- 5:42Speaker 2: we see this with the group from Miami. You think
- 5:45Speaker 2: they hate each other for a bit. And then they're
- 5:47Speaker 2: like going to the bathroom together and giggling. It's just
- 5:50Speaker 2: the way they work. And it's awesome to see.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Um going off of that um we have lisa hockstein
- 5:58Speaker 4: hockstein don't remember don't know and um larsa and they're
- 6:03Speaker 4: fighting um but they're fighting in a way that like
- 6:07Speaker 4: best friends fight where you know at the end you're
- 6:09Speaker 4: gonna laugh about it and that was one of my
- 6:11Speaker 4: favorite parts of the episode where they go outside and
- 6:13Speaker 4: she's like push her against the wall and she's like.
- 6:17Speaker 1: She's like, no, stop it. You're a stupid bitch. And
- 6:19Speaker 1: it's kind of like sister fighting.
- 6:20Speaker 2: You need therapy.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It was so, I need therapy or they need therapy?
- 6:25Speaker 2: I think they said it to each other. They need therapy.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yeah, so they need therapy. Like they're just so close
- 6:33Speaker 4: and I believe it with them. Not like the fake
- 6:36Speaker 4: friendships that we've seen.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a depth here. We've been in Miami now for,
- 6:40Speaker 2: it feels like a while, but it's really only like
- 6:42Speaker 2: an episode and a half. Miami is known for its nightlife.
- 6:47Speaker 2: They have a great time. The weather is typically really great.
- 6:50Speaker 2: So you can be out late night. You're not getting
- 6:53Speaker 2: frozen like we see in New York. People enjoy themselves
- 6:57Speaker 2: down there. They do like to drink and party and dance.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Miami's been a fun week for us, I think. I
- 7:05Speaker 2: think it has brought the cast together in a way
- 7:08Speaker 2: that was not existing in previous towns and cities. This
- 7:15Speaker 2: ultimate girl strip, Vicky is really the one I'm thinking about.
- 7:19Speaker 2: She's come out of her shell. She has. And Portia
- 7:21Speaker 2: mentions it to her. We see this Vicky that I
- 7:24Speaker 2: think rose to stardom on Housewives. We're starting to see
- 7:29Speaker 2: that Vicky. Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 4: I'm really loving to see it. I think Tequila is
- 7:33Speaker 4: doing well for her. That's definitely working down there. I mean,
- 7:39Speaker 4: she's probably like had time to also just warm up
- 7:41Speaker 4: to the personalities of the girls and like felt a
- 7:43Speaker 4: little more comfortable and a little more included.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But yeah, everyone's taking notice of that.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I don't really remember Vicky's outfit, though, with the lingerie.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm sure she'd be one of the more conservative ones.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if we like highlighted Vicky during this.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if she wanted to be highlighted.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this is, again, something that they're asking
- 8:06Speaker 2: her to do that's now outside of her comfort zone.
- 8:10Speaker 4: They should have had her highlighted in her suite getting ready.
- 8:14Speaker 1: There's definitely tape there.
- 8:16Speaker 2: One of the things that happens during this whole episode, though,
- 8:19Speaker 2: there is a lot of conversation, mostly when we get
- 8:22Speaker 2: into New York, a little bit still in Miami. around
- 8:25Speaker 2: past relationships from the show. So there's a lot of
- 8:27Speaker 2: names being thrown out there that I am unfamiliar with.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Have you talked to so-and-so? What's your relationship like with so-and-so?
- 8:34Speaker 2: And there's flashbacks that Bravo does so well when it
- 8:38Speaker 2: comes to those past friendships that are now revisited. I
- 8:43Speaker 2: am fairly out of touch with all of those. I
- 8:47Speaker 2: don't understand what they're saying. I don't know if you
- 8:49Speaker 2: I know that Lisa and Larsa are chatting kind of
- 8:53Speaker 2: and bringing up past people. Is there any of these
- 8:58Speaker 2: relationships that stood out to you that said, oh my gosh,
- 9:00Speaker 2: I forgot this, or I'm so glad it was, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 2: paid attention to?
- 9:04Speaker 1: Well, I know New Jersey, a little bit about New Jersey.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Okay. And so Teresa and Melissa, we know Teresa, Melissa
- 9:15Speaker 4: is her, sister-in-law and she was an OG housewife as well,
- 9:20Speaker 4: but they've always had like a bad relationship, but I
- 9:24Speaker 4: guess that's why they, someone's asked Teresa. Oh, Jacqueline, have
- 9:29Speaker 4: you talked to Melissa? And she's like, yeah, we're on
- 9:32Speaker 4: okay terms. So basically we're just like, there's so many
- 9:35Speaker 4: people at the party and they're just like saying, are
- 9:40Speaker 4: we okay? Or is everyone okay? And basically everyone is okay.
- 9:43Speaker 4: So we're just like kind of flashing through all these
- 9:46Speaker 4: like relationships I've had issues. Um, I would imagine it's
- 9:51Speaker 4: hard to not run into your sister-in-law and not develop
- 9:56Speaker 4: an okay relationship after 20 years.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Sure.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Um, So that's the one that I kind of knew
- 10:02Speaker 4: of when they were talking. And then Lisa and Larsa
- 10:05Speaker 4: are talking. And I think we may need to have
- 10:10Speaker 4: a little more context on that from Heather.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Heather, will you give us some follow-up? I know Larsa
- 10:15Speaker 2: is Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan's son's ex-wife. Is that Larsa
- 10:21Speaker 2: Pippen too?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Larsa Pippen.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So is that bizarre?
- 10:23Speaker 2: So she was married to Scottie Pippen as well?
- 10:26Speaker 3: Yes. So I can't give too much background on the
- 10:31Speaker 3: fight or riff between the two of them because I
- 10:34Speaker 3: haven't watched Miami in years. And like I put in
- 10:37Speaker 3: the notes, Miami was on hold when they were filming this.
- 10:42Speaker 3: And then Miami has now since then, like again, been
- 10:46Speaker 3: put on pause for years. who knows how long so
- 10:50Speaker 3: it has not been renewed um but yeah the the
- 10:53Speaker 3: whole argument is basically like larsa being like uh you
- 10:57Speaker 3: still follow my ex and you're supposed to be my
- 11:00Speaker 3: my girl and then lisa barlow jumps in in her
- 11:03Speaker 3: interview and is like well i follow her ex too
- 11:05Speaker 3: because we met on super yachts and i am not
- 11:08Speaker 3: gonna unfollow him anytime soon sorry.
- 11:12Speaker 4: So lisa hockstein and larsa Or fighting because Lisa still
- 11:18Speaker 4: follows Marcus Jordan.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Correct.
- 11:20Speaker 4: And then Lisa Barlow jumps in and she just needs...
- 11:23Speaker 4: This is where we're starting to see Lisa Barlow name
- 11:26Speaker 4: drop and act like she's more important than she is.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Because she just had to throw in that we were
- 11:31Speaker 4: on not yachts, super yachts.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Super yachts. That's one thing, Lauren, I did want to
- 11:37Speaker 2: bring up. Kind of the... One of the storylines we've
- 11:41Speaker 2: been following and commenting on is Lisa Barlow, because she
- 11:45Speaker 2: has been such a polarizing character, not only during her
- 11:49Speaker 2: time on Housewives, but also through the girls trip. We've
- 11:52Speaker 2: seen moments where people go, wait, is is the dislike
- 11:57Speaker 2: or the. that resentment towards Lisa warranted from the woman
- 12:02Speaker 2: in Utah. And at first we were like, I don't
- 12:04Speaker 2: see it. I don't get it. And then we start
- 12:06Speaker 2: to see signs and we start to see things that
- 12:08Speaker 2: might be annoyances if you're around too often. Lisa Barlow
- 12:13Speaker 2: and Larsa do chat about this Ben Affleck premiere of
- 12:18Speaker 2: The Accountant 2. Ben Affleck has to be sitting at
- 12:20Speaker 2: home giggling. That if he's watching this, that there's so
- 12:24Speaker 2: much controversy surrounding one of his movie premieres. It is
- 12:28Speaker 2: incredible free press for him. And I don't even think
- 12:32Speaker 2: the accountant, too, did that well in theaters. But both
- 12:36Speaker 2: are talking about going to the premiere and being around
- 12:39Speaker 2: Ben Affleck. This was a conversation that annoyed the women
- 12:42Speaker 2: from Utah because Lisa kind of name dropped this and
- 12:45Speaker 2: they got sick of her name dropping. And I've made this,
- 12:48Speaker 2: you haven't been around for it. The Almost Famous listeners
- 12:51Speaker 2: have been around for it. One of my biggest annoyances
- 12:56Speaker 2: in life, and I've stopped talking about it because I
- 12:59Speaker 2: overdid it for so long, is self-describing. And so when
- 13:03Speaker 2: you come to me, Lauren, and we're in a conversation,
- 13:05Speaker 2: you're like, you know, I am one of those honest
- 13:08Speaker 2: people that cares too much. I'm like, I don't know
- 13:11Speaker 2: if you can say that about yourself. I think others
- 13:12Speaker 2: have to say that about you. Well, Lisa... here says
- 13:19Speaker 2: i don't like to name drop i'm not a name
- 13:21Speaker 2: dropper uh she mentions that when somebody says that to
- 13:24Speaker 2: me after they've just name dropped three names i go
- 13:27Speaker 2: no i think you're exactly a name dropper i would
- 13:29Speaker 2: rather you'd be like the girls from miami and be
- 13:31Speaker 2: like no 100 i'm going to tell you every famous
- 13:33Speaker 2: person that's in my phone every famous person i've talked
- 13:36Speaker 2: to and i want you to do like proudly because
- 13:40Speaker 2: that's just what you enjoy doing yes.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Ben, I couldn't say it any better.
- 13:44Speaker 4: It was a really hard watch because I think she
- 13:48Speaker 4: even name-dropped more people than Ben Affleck within a three-second
- 13:53Speaker 4: time frame. Like, Larissa was like, you're name-dropping. And she goes,
- 13:56Speaker 4: I'm not name-dropping. I was just with Gwyneth Paltrow. Like,
- 14:01Speaker 4: it was a very bizarre thing to see. And to
- 14:04Speaker 4: see someone be so un-self-aware is crazy.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Because.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Because I couldn't imagine not overthinking every word that comes
- 14:15Speaker 4: out of your mouth. But yes, the self-describing is 100%
- 14:19Speaker 4: a pet peeve, especially in the dating world when guys
- 14:23Speaker 4: will be like, I'm a nice guy.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I'm a nice guy.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I'm like, now I know you're the devil. Thank you
- 14:28Speaker 4: for actually saying that.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I would say it's a red flag. You make a
- 14:31Speaker 2: great point. When you're dating somebody and they're telling you
- 14:34Speaker 2: there are positive attributes all the time, I would actually
- 14:36Speaker 2: pause and say, maybe I should revisit if these are
- 14:40Speaker 2: true or not.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Yeah, that was that was really fun and fun to watch.
- 14:44Speaker 4: But also, I'm not liking Lisa anymore, just with that
- 14:48Speaker 4: one little sentence. But going back, going being invited to
- 14:53Speaker 4: these premieres, honestly, isn't like the craziest thing in the world. Ben,
- 14:57Speaker 4: how many premieres have you gone to? There's been lots
- 14:59Speaker 4: of premieres, lots of invites. It's like a PR thing.
- 15:02Speaker 4: It's not like you're friends with Ben Affleck.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like, I was just recently with Brad Pitt. See? See? No.
- 15:10Speaker 3: See?
- 15:10Speaker 2: It's not. They're just not a thing. And, I mean,
- 15:13Speaker 2: think of a better example of this because they, for
- 15:16Speaker 2: a while, were making a killing doing it, is your
- 15:19Speaker 2: sister and her husband. Like, Jared and Ashley would go
- 15:22Speaker 2: to all these Tom Cruise premieres because whoever behind the
- 15:28Speaker 2: scenes found out that Jared legitimately loves Tom Cruise.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Ashley loves Tom Cruise and they are excited to promote
- 15:35Speaker 2: whatever Tom Cruise is doing. And so as a result,
- 15:38Speaker 2: they have found their way into rooms with Tom Cruise
- 15:41Speaker 2: and Now, if Ashley and I are at dinner and
- 15:43Speaker 2: she drops that she is hanging out with Tom Cruise,
- 15:48Speaker 2: I'd say, Ashley, you're not hanging out with Tom Cruise.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Like that's not what's happening here.
- 15:52Speaker 3: No.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
- 15:54Speaker 4: But Lisa will double down and be like, no, no, no.
- 15:57Speaker 4: So like at the after party thing, we we hung out,
- 16:00Speaker 4: but she probably just said, like, can I get a
- 16:02Speaker 4: picture with you?
- 16:03Speaker 1: And then that was it.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, he was in the corner being surrounded by a
- 16:06Speaker 2: thousand other people. And she walked up at some point
- 16:08Speaker 2: and said, I'm Lisa. You might know me from The Housewives.
- 16:10Speaker 2: And he goes, oh, yeah, okay. And they get a
- 16:13Speaker 2: picture and that's them hanging out. And honestly, good for her.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I want her to be excited about the life she
- 16:19Speaker 2: is living. I'm not... But just let's not cover it up. Like,
- 16:23Speaker 2: let's be more in the vein of this is so
- 16:25Speaker 2: cool that I got to be invited to a premiere
- 16:28Speaker 2: of a movie because I'm on reality television. Now... That's
- 16:32Speaker 2: really from Miami. What I'm going to take from this
- 16:36Speaker 2: lingerie party is it is a bonding experience for the
- 16:39Speaker 2: girls on the road trip. There are some side conversations
- 16:44Speaker 2: about past friendships and life lived. And everybody, like you said,
- 16:48Speaker 2: is looking great. Not only because they're in their fifties
- 16:52Speaker 2: and sixties, but also they just dressed up nice and
- 16:54Speaker 2: it looks like a fun event that everybody got to
- 16:57Speaker 2: attend and they felt good doing it. The next day,
- 17:02Speaker 2: we find out that the women are traveling to New
- 17:03Speaker 2: York City. When I think of the housewives, I think
- 17:06Speaker 2: of Beverly Hills, just not even being like a deeply
- 17:09Speaker 2: ingrained fan for years of my life. It's just I
- 17:13Speaker 2: think of New York City and I think of Beverly Hills.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Those are the two places that come to mind. I
- 17:18Speaker 2: don't know why for me, but those are it. New
- 17:21Speaker 2: York City makes sense, I think, because it is where
- 17:24Speaker 2: things started. And you had some big characters come from that,
- 17:27Speaker 2: like Bethany Frankel. Who's done great, you know, from starting
- 17:31Speaker 2: on this show. And I remember hearing that story.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. There are.
- 17:37Speaker 4: A couple people that I, you know, wish we saw.
- 17:41Speaker 4: But first, Dorinda shows up to greet Luanne as Luanne
- 17:47Speaker 4: is in bed with her boyfriend, her man friend.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 4: And Dorinda is amazing. Dorinda is like one of the OGs.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Her and Luanne are still close. Have you seen Dorinda before?
- 18:00Speaker 1: Do you know anything about her?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Was she a part of the table flip scene?
- 18:05Speaker 1: No, that's New Jersey.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Oh, okay. No, I've heard her name. I think you
- 18:10Speaker 2: have mentioned Dorinda's name. Her name, like when she said
- 18:13Speaker 2: Dorinda is showing up, it sparked a, hey, I need
- 18:17Speaker 2: to pay attention to who this person is because I've
- 18:19Speaker 2: heard about her.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Um, Dorinda developed a, a drinking problem basically like while
- 18:26Speaker 4: on the show, like every season she got sloppier and
- 18:28Speaker 4: sloppier and sloppier. So now she's sober and we see
- 18:31Speaker 4: that at the, um, gangster lunch.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Um, yeah, because the first time they went there, I
- 18:39Speaker 4: think they were in like Queens or something. It's kind
- 18:40Speaker 4: of like, you know, classic old Italian restaurant, um, wasn't
- 18:45Speaker 4: super fancy. So everyone was like roasting her roasting Dorinda
- 18:48Speaker 4: being like, why are we here? Why are we here?
- 18:51Speaker 4: Why aren't we at like, you know, the most fancy
- 18:53Speaker 4: place ever. We're too bougie for this. But then they
- 18:55Speaker 4: ended up having like the craziest, most iconic lunch of
- 18:58Speaker 4: all time. And it was like a gangster lunch. Cause
- 19:01Speaker 4: everyone was just yelling at each other and they're in
- 19:03Speaker 4: like Queens and they're all wearing, you know, their little
- 19:06Speaker 4: like boas and stuff. So now it's the iconic gangster lunch.
- 19:09Speaker 4: So that's kind of the background of it. But now
- 19:11Speaker 4: Dorinda is doing it sober.
- 19:23Speaker 2: So this gangster lunch is not a themed lunch necessarily.
- 19:27Speaker 2: It's giving an ode to a past lunch that happened
- 19:32Speaker 2: on the show that just happened naturally. Okay. Yes.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Okay. But yeah, so Dorina's amazing. I'm really sad we
- 19:40Speaker 4: didn't get to see Ramona or um, or Sonia. And
- 19:49Speaker 4: they said that Sonia won't get out of bed for
- 19:52Speaker 4: like less than $ 5, 000. So I'm, I'm assuming they're not
- 19:55Speaker 4: paying very well here.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Oh, they're in the Bronx.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 20:00Speaker 1: They're not a Queens or they're in the Bronx.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I didn't put two and two together when you said that,
- 20:05Speaker 2: but That's probably true. If they're not getting paid that
- 20:08Speaker 2: well to show up to this, this is more of a,
- 20:11Speaker 2: you get screen time and your relevancy will increase. And
- 20:14Speaker 2: then people will be talking about it the next day.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Like we are that you showed up or didn't show up,
- 20:19Speaker 2: but Hey, she said no. So she didn't have to
- 20:21Speaker 2: take up the time and we're still talking about her.
- 20:23Speaker 2: So she got everything and more from this lunch, even
- 20:27Speaker 2: without going. But I do think if I'm a housewife and,
- 20:33Speaker 2: We're about to do this with The Bachelor Cruise. There
- 20:39Speaker 2: is something special about a reunion. And I think you
- 20:43Speaker 2: never know, especially with what I'm learning about The Housewives,
- 20:47Speaker 2: when something's going to be a reunion and when something's
- 20:49Speaker 2: going to be chaos. But this ends up being a reunion.
- 20:54Speaker 2: It's very sweet. It's very heartfelt. It is people getting
- 20:58Speaker 2: together who are friends or acquaintances or have just known
- 21:02Speaker 2: about each other. but they all have this similar thing
- 21:04Speaker 2: in common. They've been through this experience. They know what
- 21:07Speaker 2: it's like to have their life aired out. And so
- 21:10Speaker 2: many of them, especially Teresa, have been through it during
- 21:17Speaker 2: this show. Yeah. And been judged for it.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 4: It was very nice to see everyone kind of like
- 21:24Speaker 4: just calm down. Like no one showed up late because
- 21:27Speaker 4: of glam. No one was pissed at each other for
- 21:30Speaker 4: something stupid that happened in the car. It was nice
- 21:33Speaker 4: that they were just like going around, like sharing their stories,
- 21:36Speaker 4: especially all as mothers and being like, I am subjecting
- 21:39Speaker 4: my children to this TV show and scrutiny when they
- 21:42Speaker 4: really didn't have to, when they all were saying they
- 21:44Speaker 4: have mom guilt.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And that, that must be crazy.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Especially Teresa seeing all these people around her that have
- 21:53Speaker 4: gone through the same thing.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And she was just like, I.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Can't believe maybe also this show is like what, brought
- 22:00Speaker 4: scrutiny into my family and what made us go to
- 22:03Speaker 4: me and my husband go to jail. And now I
- 22:06Speaker 4: have to deal with all of this, but the women
- 22:08Speaker 4: are really supporting each other from, from every single city.
- 22:12Speaker 1: And it was really sweet.
- 22:14Speaker 4: And I can't believe that all of this heartfelt, like
- 22:17Speaker 4: talk was happening while Luann had a, her.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Own mugshot on her shirt.
- 22:23Speaker 4: I was like, how could anyone take her seriously with
- 22:24Speaker 4: a fedora and her own mugshot?
- 22:26Speaker 1: Do you like Luann now?
- 22:29Speaker 2: I might be with the women being like, hey, she's
- 22:31Speaker 2: a lot.
- 22:32Speaker 1: She's a lot.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's a lot. I like her as
- 22:36Speaker 2: a character on this show. I think she is funny.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I think she's unapologetic. I don't think she's self-aware. I
- 22:47Speaker 2: love how she thinks she is the hottest thing in
- 22:49Speaker 2: the room at all times.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Sexy, sexy, sexy, yeah.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And so I do appreciate it. I don't love the
- 22:56Speaker 2: bullying on any side. Real Housewives is kind of known
- 22:59Speaker 2: for it, but I did find it funny when somebody...
- 23:02Speaker 2: I forget when it happened this episode, but they said,
- 23:04Speaker 2: there was a moment where I got a phone call
- 23:08Speaker 2: or I woke up to two guys' voices.
- 23:11Speaker 1: One was Lance and one was somebody else. Yes, it
- 23:13Speaker 1: was Carol. That was Carol. So Carol's a big part
- 23:17Speaker 1: of this.
- 23:18Speaker 4: She kind of was the host of this gangster dinner,
- 23:21Speaker 4: although Dorinda should have been.
- 23:22Speaker 1: But.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Carol, her iconic line was, I woke up to two
- 23:28Speaker 4: male voices, one of them being Luann's.
- 23:30Speaker 1: So that's like a... True housewives will say that line
- 23:37Speaker 1: once a day, probably.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 1: But Carol is.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Kind of the head of the table here she talks
- 23:45Speaker 4: about how she wrote something for bravo con and i
- 23:49Speaker 4: honestly when she was reading it i was like this
- 23:51Speaker 4: is so corny oh my god this is so embarrassing
- 23:54Speaker 4: i thought they're gonna do like clown music in the
- 23:56Speaker 4: background you know how they try and like make you
- 23:58Speaker 4: think a certain way by the music and i was
- 24:00Speaker 4: like waiting for it and then ever's like that was
- 24:02Speaker 4: beautiful i'm like forged in the fire of housewives yeah
- 24:07Speaker 4: what i'm glad they liked it i don't know I'm
- 24:11Speaker 4: with you.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Okay. But it's sweet and they're trying. And I think
- 24:16Speaker 2: for me, victories here look in the way of, hey,
- 24:19Speaker 2: can they get through a lunch without yelling at each
- 24:21Speaker 2: other or somebody leaving feeling worse about themselves? However, it
- 24:25Speaker 2: does seem like what I'm learning about the Housewives franchise
- 24:28Speaker 2: is these women are so calloused to criticism that I
- 24:32Speaker 2: don't know how like any type of critical feedback or
- 24:36Speaker 2: being laughed at. Even affects them because it seems like
- 24:40Speaker 2: it happens all the time in all different ways. We
- 24:44Speaker 2: see it throughout every episode in the flashbacks. Everybody's getting
- 24:47Speaker 2: ripped on. Everybody's getting annoyed with each other. Now, Lauren,
- 24:51Speaker 2: last week, and I forget who it was. You mentioned
- 24:54Speaker 2: to me that I'm going to meet somebody, and I
- 24:55Speaker 2: believe it was Dorinda. And you said she's going to
- 24:59Speaker 2: drive you crazy. Was it Dorinda or who was that
- 25:02Speaker 2: that you guys were bringing up to me that would
- 25:04Speaker 2: drive me crazy?
- 25:05Speaker 4: You know, I think it was Ramona who we didn't
- 25:07Speaker 4: actually get to see.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Okay, so I never got to meet her. I'll have
- 25:11Speaker 2: to go back and watch clips. You're right. It was
- 25:13Speaker 2: somebody that you were excited that I could potentially meet
- 25:15Speaker 2: in New York City and be familiar with. And we
- 25:19Speaker 2: did not get to see Ramona. Seems like a big loss.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Was her name even brought up, though?
- 25:24Speaker 4: No, like, I don't think she wants anything to do
- 25:26Speaker 4: with Housewives, maybe. Or she's like, I'm not getting paid enough,
- 25:30Speaker 4: so don't even mention my name. They showed her on
- 25:35Speaker 4: the runway with her, like, crazy eyes.
- 25:37Speaker 1: And they said.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Oh, she looks like an alien invaded her body.
- 25:41Speaker 1: She looks like an alien invaded her body. Yeah, exactly.
- 25:44Speaker 1: So that's Ramona.
- 25:44Speaker 4: You never got to meet her. You would have lost
- 25:47Speaker 4: your mind. But unfortunately, you'll keep your mind this week.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Thanks, Lauren. I would like that. That'd be good for me.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Before we move on to the Halloween party, just a
- 25:56Speaker 2: side note, a personal opinion. I didn't know a lot
- 26:01Speaker 2: going into the Ultimate Girls trip. It's been a great
- 26:03Speaker 2: ride for you and I here. I just didn't know
- 26:06Speaker 2: a lot. And I have a friend. I won't mention
- 26:09Speaker 2: his name or give too many details. It's a social
- 26:12Speaker 2: media friend. Somebody who has really paved the way in
- 26:17Speaker 2: their own space at a young age. And he always
- 26:20Speaker 2: talked about how I think it's his aunt is Kyle
- 26:23Speaker 2: Richards and how great Kyle was to him. And I've
- 26:28Speaker 2: always known of her basically from that. I didn't really
- 26:30Speaker 2: know who she was before that. Watching this, I really
- 26:33Speaker 2: have enjoyed watching Kyle. We've seen the emotion. We've seen
- 26:37Speaker 2: the leadership. We've seen her ability to navigate other people
- 26:42Speaker 2: fighting and just kind of shut it down and say, stop,
- 26:45Speaker 2: this is stupid. Mm-hmm. She is in the Housewives franchise
- 26:50Speaker 2: watching this. She has the attributes of such an incredible leader.
- 26:55Speaker 2: And I've enjoyed her. I think she not only can
- 26:58Speaker 2: bring some of the spark and funkiness and she's beautiful.
- 27:02Speaker 2: So she has that going for her. I've just also
- 27:04Speaker 2: enjoyed her demeanor and the way she walks through life.
- 27:07Speaker 2: And so I don't know if that's a common thought.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a controversial thought.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Okay.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 1: She's your gal.
- 27:12Speaker 4: I mean, she is unproblematic, is what I would say. Unproblematic,
- 27:17Speaker 4: friends with everyone, a good mediator. But I've heard recently
- 27:22Speaker 4: that people are getting tired of her because she's too
- 27:24Speaker 4: aware of the cameras. And she's almost too polished to
- 27:28Speaker 4: be a housewife. She's not very messy. That's why you
- 27:31Speaker 4: like her. Yeah. But I mean, she is a good
- 27:35Speaker 4: person to have in between all these crazies.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah. So people would, their criticism would be that she's
- 27:41Speaker 2: like too dull. And I would say, no, that's like, that's,
- 27:45Speaker 2: I respect that. Or I appreciate that. You need that.
- 27:48Speaker 2: She keeps sanity here, but the housewives fandom is going, no,
- 27:53Speaker 2: we want messy. We want the fights.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Yeah. That's why we like when Kathy Hilton is there too,
- 27:59Speaker 4: which is her sister, which is so weird.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I'll never get over that.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Um, because Kathy has zero filter. And so when they're
- 28:10Speaker 4: playing off of each other, it's good. But, um, yeah,
- 28:12Speaker 4: she's a little bit dull for everyone.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Okay. Well, we do see, we'll go into the Halloween party. Uh,
- 28:18Speaker 2: Luanne is hosting this Halloween party. She's pretty excited about it.
- 28:21Speaker 2: She has, um, all sorts of things lined up like
- 28:25Speaker 2: a magician. Um, and a, uh, what do you call
- 28:30Speaker 2: those people that like can predict what you're thinking? Mentalist. Yeah.
- 28:35Speaker 2: She's a magician and a mentalist showing up to this.
- 28:38Speaker 2: She's very pumped for it. Everybody does kind of show
- 28:42Speaker 2: up in a big way. I think these costumes are
- 28:45Speaker 2: better than most that we've seen through this girls trip.
- 28:48Speaker 2: People seem to have tried hard. I don't know if
- 28:50Speaker 2: it's because of New York or if it's just because
- 28:53Speaker 2: of the cast that has been invited into this. Before
- 28:56Speaker 2: we kind of kick off the details of this party,
- 28:59Speaker 2: we do see Kelly Ben Simone there. She did fill
- 29:02Speaker 2: in for you a week here, Lauren, and that was awesome.
- 29:06Speaker 2: She helped me break down the Ultimate Girl Strip and
- 29:09Speaker 2: did hint at the time that we might potentially see her.
- 29:12Speaker 2: We did. But before we talk about the details of
- 29:16Speaker 2: this party, there are a lot of randoms here. And
- 29:19Speaker 2: that's one thing we haven't necessarily seen at a party
- 29:23Speaker 2: throne yet is the fans being also invited in. You
- 29:27Speaker 2: think that's a Luann move?
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yes.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:29Speaker 4: My theory, I was like, my theory is that Luann
- 29:32Speaker 4: needs her fans surrounding her and pumping her up. um
- 29:35Speaker 4: that that's just classic um i think she probably just
- 29:40Speaker 4: wants as many people talking about her as possible yeah.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I mean there's like the page six podcast hosts are
- 29:46Speaker 2: there she she uses this as an opportunity to continue
- 29:49Speaker 2: to solidify her presence in new york city uh is
- 29:53Speaker 2: my assumption right.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely.
- 29:56Speaker 4: But the other girls did not seem amused by it
- 29:58Speaker 4: because I guess there was enough people to fill a
- 30:00Speaker 4: room from the other cities, but they had to have
- 30:03Speaker 4: fans and podcasters come to this one, which I don't
- 30:06Speaker 4: think it's a great look.
- 30:09Speaker 2: No, I'm with you. It's not a good look, Lauren,
- 30:11Speaker 2: but it is strategically creative. And I think there is
- 30:17Speaker 2: a brilliance to Luanne continuing to take opportunities like this moment.
- 30:23Speaker 2: To say, hey, I want you to know not only
- 30:25Speaker 2: do I still live here, I'm still a big deal here.
- 30:29Speaker 2: And I'm going to invite all of you fans in
- 30:31Speaker 2: so that when you happen to see me on the
- 30:32Speaker 2: streets in the next couple years of my life, you
- 30:35Speaker 2: still stop and say hello because you remember that I
- 30:38Speaker 2: invited you to this party.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Oh, you are so right. That's exactly what it is.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Yeah. So she got her own, which I think is
- 30:47Speaker 2: a characteristic of Luann that I'm learning is she just
- 30:49Speaker 2: wants to get her own if it's with her boyfriend
- 30:52Speaker 2: or if it's with. her moment of singing, or if
- 30:55Speaker 2: it's with the party that the housewives are throwing, she
- 30:59Speaker 2: just wants it to be hers. And this is a
- 31:01Speaker 2: way to do it. The costumes are fantastic. We see
- 31:17Speaker 2: hockey players wearing, to a Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman costume.
- 31:22Speaker 2: That was a good one. Everybody, I think, looks great.
- 31:26Speaker 2: That's one takeaway from this. The start of this party,
- 31:31Speaker 2: one of the controversial topics is that, and I don't
- 31:36Speaker 2: know her name right now.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Describe.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Is she redid a costume that she wore on the
- 31:42Speaker 2: show because it was iconic. It was the bubble Lady
- 31:45Speaker 2: Gaga costume.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Oh, Dorinda was Lady Gaga.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Okay, so Dorinda comes in as Lady Gaga. She says
- 31:53Speaker 2: it's iconic. She gets criticism for it because she repeated
- 31:56Speaker 2: an outfit.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I know that's a thing. I mean, obviously, I have
- 32:03Speaker 2: a wife, so I'm familiar that repeating outfits is not
- 32:07Speaker 2: like a common occurrence, especially when it comes to fancier outfits.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I mean, goodness, she wears the same t-shirt to bed
- 32:15Speaker 2: it feels like every night of her life, but When
- 32:18Speaker 2: it comes to a dress, it's a little different, I guess.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Since it is directly correlated to a Housewives episode, and
- 32:26Speaker 4: this whole trip is about memories from reliving Housewives episodes,
- 32:29Speaker 4: then it's definitely acceptable to be an alpha repeater in
- 32:32Speaker 4: this case.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, and also, maybe, I think my Midwest is showing.
- 32:40Speaker 2: But I look at this, and I'm learning a lot
- 32:44Speaker 2: in life, but If every time I was asked to
- 32:47Speaker 2: come to a party, I don't get asked to go
- 32:49Speaker 2: to a lot of parties. My friends aren't throwing big
- 32:52Speaker 2: shindigs anymore.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I keep buying things. I got nowhere to go.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Yeah, like it's expensive.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 2: I mean, you're like if I'm going to your party
- 33:03Speaker 2: and I know that I'm wearing something that cost me
- 33:05Speaker 2: an extra 200 bucks, like that's going to stress me out.
- 33:08Speaker 2: More than the idea that, hey, I have this outfit
- 33:10Speaker 2: at home, my Tigger outfit that I've had since college
- 33:13Speaker 2: that works perfectly for Halloween. Everybody comments that it looks good.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I think it looks great. It's a full body suit.
- 33:20Speaker 2: I spent 25 bucks on it at the thrift store
- 33:24Speaker 2: back in college and it still works today. I think
- 33:28Speaker 2: that's cooler. then you showing up every time with a
- 33:31Speaker 2: new outfit.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:33Speaker 4: That's that is your Midwest. And that is your male
- 33:35Speaker 4: coming out for sure.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:37Speaker 4: Especially with these ladies, like you can't be doing that
- 33:40Speaker 4: around them. Even with Ashley from like last season, like
- 33:43Speaker 4: she would wear the same shoes basically.
- 33:45Speaker 1: And it'd be like, you wore those last week. Let's
- 33:48Speaker 1: step it up.
- 33:49Speaker 2: You know?
- 33:49Speaker 4: So shoes are, should be able to go with multiple outfits.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Is it like a laziness thing? What is it? Like
- 33:56Speaker 2: they're saying you're just not trying.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Like you're just not like, like you, that's all you
- 34:01Speaker 4: have to give. Like you got to give us more,
- 34:04Speaker 4: you know?
- 34:05Speaker 1: I know.
- 34:05Speaker 4: So it's just, it's, it's any other circumstance. I understand
- 34:11Speaker 4: why the ladies would be pissed about it. Not pissed,
- 34:14Speaker 4: judgy about an alpha repeater, but you have this costume.
- 34:18Speaker 4: It's very cool. You're never going to wear it again
- 34:20Speaker 4: unless you're on a housewife reunion tour.
- 34:22Speaker 2: And here we are.
- 34:23Speaker 1: So no judgment for Dorinda.
- 34:26Speaker 2: No, I like Dorinda's style. Good for you, Dorinda. You
- 34:29Speaker 2: are thrifty.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Yes.
- 34:30Speaker 2: And for that, I give you a checkmark. I like
- 34:33Speaker 2: the way you operate.
- 34:35Speaker 4: What made you sad in the Halloween episode, though? In
- 34:38Speaker 4: the Halloween section?
- 34:41Speaker 2: Thank you for asking me that because I would have forgotten. Yeah.
- 34:45Speaker 2: It made me sad because for all of the things
- 34:49Speaker 2: that annoy me about Luanne, Lauren, I'm going to go
- 34:51Speaker 2: on a soapbox here. For all the things that have
- 34:53Speaker 2: annoyed me about Luann, I do think you see signs
- 34:59Speaker 2: that she just wants to be seen. She just wants
- 35:02Speaker 2: to be known. She has this desire for others to
- 35:06Speaker 2: respect her or to appreciate her or to see that, hey,
- 35:11Speaker 2: when Luann's around, yes, it's going to be a little goofy. Yes,
- 35:14Speaker 2: she's going to be singing a lot. It's probably going
- 35:16Speaker 2: to be more annoying than we like. But the time
- 35:19Speaker 2: is going to be had. She elevates the environment in
- 35:22Speaker 2: the room. And I don't have that quality. I like
- 35:26Speaker 2: to be in rooms. I like to sit in spaces.
- 35:30Speaker 2: But I can't always elevate the environment or the vibe.
- 35:35Speaker 2: And I think Luanne does that. Either through making a
- 35:38Speaker 2: fool of herself, which she definitely does. Or through just
- 35:41Speaker 2: being controversial, which she definitely does. I think if I'm...
- 35:46Speaker 2: taking leaps and bounds to try to understand each one
- 35:49Speaker 2: of these women. I think I look at Louie and
- 35:50Speaker 2: I say, you just want to be appreciated for who
- 35:53Speaker 2: you are. So she throws this party. And I think
- 35:57Speaker 2: her inviting fans speaks to her desire to be seen
- 36:01Speaker 2: and known. She needs that fame to fulfill this void
- 36:06Speaker 2: in her heart that exists and this void in her
- 36:09Speaker 2: soul that exists as she's getting older. At some point,
- 36:13Speaker 2: you kind of have this second chapter of life where
- 36:15Speaker 2: you start to settle into a piece of, hey, my
- 36:18Speaker 2: purpose here on earth is different than it was when
- 36:21Speaker 2: I was 30, 40. So she throws this party and
- 36:24Speaker 2: it just doesn't feel like the party lands, you know,
- 36:27Speaker 2: people are showing up late. Uh, people are, you know, are,
- 36:32Speaker 2: are complaining about the food, lack of food. It kind
- 36:37Speaker 2: of just seems like people went into it going, this
- 36:39Speaker 2: is Luanne's party and I have to be here because
- 36:43Speaker 2: the show is making me. And that makes me sad
- 36:46Speaker 2: for her. Yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 4: I mean, we see that next week of the little
- 36:50Speaker 4: cliffhanger that Porsche, well, she yells at Porsche for being
- 36:54Speaker 4: late to her party and, And then Luanne actually gets upset. Like,
- 36:59Speaker 4: we see tears from Luanne because she just feels underappreciated.
- 37:04Speaker 4: And again, she just wants to be seen. And I
- 37:07Speaker 4: would love to know about her childhood, honestly, and why
- 37:10Speaker 4: she always has to put on a show and perform.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it's... This is where I take this to a
- 37:16Speaker 2: place that no listener wants because like you said, when
- 37:19Speaker 2: you watch Real Housewives, you want the real, you want
- 37:22Speaker 2: the messy, you want the relatability or the ability to
- 37:26Speaker 2: sit there and be like, hey, at least I'm not
- 37:27Speaker 2: that crazy. And that's why these shows typically don't work
- 37:31Speaker 2: for me and why me hosting a podcast about them
- 37:34Speaker 2: sometimes misses the mark. I understand that. But at the
- 37:37Speaker 2: end of the day, I've been around, name drop, all
- 37:41Speaker 2: these reality television celebrities.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 37:45Speaker 2: And so many of them are great. All of them
- 37:48Speaker 2: are great in their own way. But the one thing
- 37:50Speaker 2: that always makes me hurt is when it feels like
- 37:54Speaker 2: your moment on reality television has become the identity to
- 37:58Speaker 2: which you operate in the world. And it always fails
- 38:02Speaker 2: you at some point at all. And some have a
- 38:05Speaker 2: long lifespan in it and they can run this race
- 38:07Speaker 2: for as long as they can remember. Um, But at
- 38:09Speaker 2: some point it does end and then you look back
- 38:11Speaker 2: and go, what was it all for? And so I
- 38:14Speaker 2: just want Luann to know when she steps out of
- 38:16Speaker 2: this world, that time is coming. Let's be honest. It's
- 38:20Speaker 2: not like, you know.
- 38:21Speaker 4: How many girl reunions can she do? She does cabarets.
- 38:24Speaker 4: I don't know who's going to keep going to buy
- 38:25Speaker 4: the cabaret tickets. That's why you got to do maybe
- 38:28Speaker 4: a Bethany Frankel diversify thing. and come up with something
- 38:32Speaker 4: that's going to make you some kind of passive income.
- 38:35Speaker 4: So Luann, go live on a beach and flirt with
- 38:37Speaker 4: every cabana boy you can find. And there doesn't have
- 38:39Speaker 4: to be cameras for it.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Do it. Go for it. But that's my take. That's
- 38:44Speaker 2: what made me sad. But this is, we do have
- 38:48Speaker 2: another episode of the ultimate girl strip that Lauren and
- 38:50Speaker 2: I will be breaking down there. It looks like they're
- 38:53Speaker 2: going to stay in New York city for the next week.
- 38:56Speaker 2: So we get to see more of New York city.
- 38:58Speaker 2: which is such a fun place for these women to
- 39:01Speaker 2: operate in and to live within. And there's so many
- 39:03Speaker 2: fans for the Housewives there in New York City. A
- 39:07Speaker 2: good episode. I felt like I followed it. You know,
- 39:11Speaker 2: my shtick here, I was just at MomCon this last week.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Great conference for mothers across the country, the world really,
- 39:18Speaker 2: coming together. 4,000 moms in one room. I was able
- 39:22Speaker 2: to host that. That was fun. And I was asked
- 39:24Speaker 2: about this show specifically multiple times. Really? And they said,
- 39:28Speaker 2: how in the world are you hosting a show about
- 39:30Speaker 2: the housewives? And I said, I think my shtick with
- 39:33Speaker 2: you and your sister is this. I am unaware and unfamiliar.
- 39:38Speaker 2: I'm the out-of-touch dad that is just trying to catch
- 39:42Speaker 2: up and be relatable in life to the people around him.
- 39:46Speaker 2: And then I have incredible co-hosts. that navigate the journey.
- 39:50Speaker 2: And this week, I feel like I'm a part of
- 39:53Speaker 2: it now.
- 39:53Speaker 4: You almost know more than me at this point. Yeah,
- 39:56Speaker 4: I feel like you're really catching on. Sometimes things go
- 39:58Speaker 4: over my head, but you catch them. You're probably going
- 40:01Speaker 4: to end up teaching me at the end of this.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know what? At this age, Ben.
- 40:08Speaker 4: I think we're done. Like, I feel like everyone's going
- 40:10Speaker 4: to teach us everything. Like I don't understand clothes anymore.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Like I don't understand these trends. I don't like I'm
- 40:16Speaker 4: the person now that's like, I don't want to learn
- 40:17Speaker 4: anything new. I have my apps that I know and
- 40:20Speaker 4: I'm not learning anything new. So unfortunately we're going to
- 40:22Speaker 4: bring someone younger and maybe next season to keep us up.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Just it's tiring staying, staying involved.
- 40:29Speaker 1: And then you give up and that's it.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Your golf shirts and your shorts and you're good
- 40:33Speaker 1: to go.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Actually, right now, Lauren, I am rocking two pieces of
- 40:37Speaker 2: clothing that I've had since high school. So amazing. And
- 40:41Speaker 2: a new hat that was given to me by our producer, Heather,
- 40:44Speaker 2: for my birthday this year. So thank you, Heather, for
- 40:48Speaker 2: making my wardrobe a little newer and a little fresher.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Speaking of newer and fresher, we have more content coming
- 40:54Speaker 2: your way here at the Almost Famous Podcast. Some incredible interviews,
- 40:57Speaker 2: let me tell you, like this week. We have a
- 40:59Speaker 2: lineup of interviews with past contestants that are making headlines.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Those are going to be awesome. Ashley is going to
- 41:06Speaker 2: be joining us for those. And then next week, we'll
- 41:08Speaker 2: be back here breaking down the next episode of the
- 41:11Speaker 2: Ultimate Girls Trip. If you have some free time in
- 41:14Speaker 2: your drives this week, we also are having... Trista and
- 41:18Speaker 2: Deanna break down every episode of Dancing with the Stars.
- 41:22Speaker 2: And then you can see some other cool content sprinkled
- 41:25Speaker 2: into the feed. We love having you. We love breaking
- 41:29Speaker 2: this down. And until next time, I've been Ben.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I've been Lauren. And vote for Taylor Hanson on Dancing
- 41:35Speaker 1: with the Stars.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Let's go.
