- 0:00Hello, friends.
- 0:00I wanted to kick off today's episode with a little personal update.
- 0:05So if you don't know, maybe you only listen to the show and you don't follow on social or read my newsletter, but I am about to step away from my business for a couple months because I'm leaving on
- 0:16my first maternity leave, which is really exciting.
- 0:19The show will continue to drop episodes every week.
- 0:22I've been working really hard to get ahead and I have some really fun, unique episodes coming out.
- 0:28I'm especially excited about next week's which is all about retention.
- 0:31And I go through some numbers, like what it actually looks like if you tweak your retention by just a couple of points from a revenue perspective.
- 0:39So, yeah, just a lot of fun episodes coming out and excited to stay connected and hear what you guys think about all of these upcoming shows.
- 0:49But I also send, if you, if you only listen to the podcast, I also send a weekly newsletter.
- 0:54And so I was trying to decide how, what should I do with my newsletter because to be honest with you, I'm very like fly by the seat of my pants with my newsletter.
- 1:02Like, I'll send it one, I'll like write it the day before I send it out or write it the day I'm sending it.
- 1:09And so it's just not sustainable, obviously when I'm trying to, I don't know, snuggle with a newborn, which is my life for the next couple of months.
- 1:19So what I did is I decided to, you know, while I'm taking a break from my business, I still want you to grow your community.
- 1:27And so I decided to do a 12 week challenge in my newsletter.
- 1:32It's, it's totally free.
- 1:34And what we're doing is sending the regular newsletter which it sends every Sunday, but each week builds on itself and is a challenge for community growth.
- 1:44So we're basically giving you a quick lesson and then a homework assignment to do before the next week.
- 1:49So it's a little bit shorter, a little bit less personal, but it's like, here's your quick lesson.
- 1:54This is the homework we want you to do and I promise you, if you do the work every single week, your community will grow, which is really exciting.
- 2:02So if you're not on my email list, I'm going to put it in the show notes so that you can sign up and subscribe.
- 2:07All you have to do is subscribe to the newsletter and then you will get.
- 2:10The 12 week challenge is entirely based on our seven figure connected community model, which is our framework that we use at affinity behind the scenes on all of our projects, it has three, three phases.
- 2:23And so essentially we're going to spend four weeks on each phase.
- 2:26So the first phase is called Architect.
- 2:29This is really where I focus on foundations and we revisit foundations with every single client we work with.
- 2:35Even our client this year that has 80,000 paying members.
- 2:38We looked at the, the architect stage.
- 2:41So the first thing we're doing in week one is really getting to know your members on a deeper level.
- 2:46So all of the, we do a little bit of scrappy research and all of that research that you do turns into things that you'll reference coming back to throughout the challenge.
- 2:57So this is step one.
- 2:59We're gonna turn what you learn from that into a one liner promise that will sell better than your sales page.
- 3:05We're gonna talk about your onboarding and your programming experience.
- 3:07So we're gonna make sure when your new members join, they feel like, wow, this was made for me.
- 3:13The retention is high, the engagement is high.
- 3:16We have really strong foundations when it comes to getting people in the door, having really solid onboard, making sure that the promise and the way you're describing your community is attracting the right people.
- 3:28So that's what we spend the first few weeks on in the challenge.
- 3:32And because you're like tweaking messaging, even from week two, we're giving you homework to go and update this in places and test this in places.
- 3:39So you will see growth pretty much immediately.
- 3:42And then the next stage, for weeks five through eight, we're going to be in Activate mode.
- 3:46So our framework goes Architect, Activate, Amplify.
- 3:50So Activate Mode is all about driving engagement.
- 3:52You will talk about your programming calendar and we'll talk about how to use the programming calendar as your marketing asset.
- 4:00We've talked about this on the show before, but it's like, how can we leverage what we're already doing to create genuine unique urgency that is repeatable, that also responds to what your customers and what your members are actually
- 4:14asking for and what they need.
- 4:17We'll talk about how to revive those members who have gone quiet and some of the things that I did at Boss Babe to fix this.
- 4:24Well, like every single lesson has some kind of client or real world example as well.
- 4:30We are talking about how to set up feedback loops so that you can learn from what's working and what you're trying and experimenting in your membership.
- 4:40I was, I was having a conversation this week with a client that was just like, you know, we are always experimenting in our community and that's why it continues to grow and that is like the ethos of our
- 4:52work.
- 4:53So we'll talk about experimentation a lot here, we'll talk about how to drive engagement a lot here and then we're giving you some things to test in your marketing based on what's happening inside of your community that will
- 5:04help your community grow.
- 5:05The last stage is called Amplify and this is weeks 9 through 12.
- 5:10This is our growth phase.
- 5:11So this is where we do some work to create word of mouth marketing by design and how we actually design for the these experiences that really start to like go viral and create this word of mouth flywheel that
- 5:22are also genuine and are value based experiences for your members.
- 5:26We're going to talk about how to borrow other people's audiences, how to create real urgency in your communities and also how you're going to create a growth plan moving forward after this 12 week sprint.
- 5:38So honestly, I don't know, maybe it's the baby brain.
- 5:41I kind of can't believe I'm doing this for free, but we're running it in the the newsletters.
- 5:48Do you get a weekly email and you do your homework.
- 5:50There is an option to for like a a small fee to upgrade if you want to be part of an accountability group with but you can absolutely just read the email and do the work.
- 6:00So I would love if you are interested in being a part of this, check it out.
- 6:04I'll put the link in the Show Notes.
- 6:05Just subscribe to the newsletter and you will get the challenge.
- 6:09And I'm really excited to see what everybody does while I'm taking a little break.
- 6:13And I kind of saw this as like my way to while I'm taking a break, like give a little gift.
- 6:20Give something back to all of the people that have been sticking with me, especially on the newsletter for the past three and a half years.
- 6:26But now with the podcast for the past year, I wanted to share this with you as well.
- 6:31So I hope that you'll check it out and if not will be new podcasts dropping every single week while I'm out.
- 6:38And I can't wait to hear what you think of those.
- 6:40So thank you.
- 6:41Thank you for listening.
- 6:42Thank you for being here.
- 6:43Thank you for following the show, for sharing the show, for subscribing to the newsletter and for supporting me.
- 6:50So with that, until next time, keep building.
- 6:53Subscribe in the Show Notes if you would like share this episode with a friend that you think should be part of the challenge.
- 6:59And thank you again for the support and for being here okay.
- 7:02Until next time.
