- 0:01Speaker 1: Okay, mister Victor, tell me about you. You have a
- 0:05Speaker 1: very interesting life. Coming from me, I always say it wrong,
- 0:11Speaker 1: just said it a minute ago.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Where you were from?
- 0:13Speaker 3: And Yugoslavia, Yeah yeah right, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. I
- 0:19Speaker 3: got born and raised in former Yugoslavia. I think it's
- 0:23Speaker 3: six different countries. Unfortunately, country fell apart of the Civil
- 0:27Speaker 3: War and which I didn't want to take part in,
- 0:32Speaker 3: so I left. When I was nineteen, I left the country.
- 0:36Speaker 3: I went to a neighboring country, Hungary, and stayed there
- 0:41Speaker 3: as a refugee for a while and hopes that I'll
- 0:44Speaker 3: be back to my native country, but that never happened.
- 0:49Speaker 3: I stayed and ended up staying in Hungary for about
- 0:52Speaker 3: four four and a half years. I worked there and
- 0:57Speaker 3: had a pretty good life. But then another opportunity has happened.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I had a chance to come to United States and
- 1:03Speaker 3: study here, which I welcomed. So I came and studied.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I got a degree from embry Real Aeronautical University in
- 1:16Speaker 3: Airline and Airport management degree. And yeah, the after ninety eleven,
- 1:26Speaker 3: I think aviation was kind of in a in a
- 1:29Speaker 3: tough spot when people were kind of afraid to fly
- 1:32Speaker 3: and it's aviation is anyways very cyclical. Every few years,
- 1:37Speaker 3: this goes up and down, so there was no really
- 1:40Speaker 3: jobs the one can get, and so I ended up
- 1:44Speaker 3: a friend of mine actually asked me if I wanted
- 1:46Speaker 3: to start a business, and without even asking him, what
- 1:50Speaker 3: are we doing? How are we doing things? I said yes?
- 1:54Speaker 3: And he ended up being an e commerce business specialized
- 2:00Speaker 3: in outdoor cleaning equipment. And that was also by accident
- 2:05Speaker 3: because original ideas to get supplies for airports and airlines.
- 2:11Speaker 3: And when I came up with a list of products
- 2:14Speaker 3: about forty products, one of the one of the items
- 2:18Speaker 3: was these pressure cleaning machines for cleaning hangar floors. And
- 2:24Speaker 3: my partner was a very at the time, very Saturday
- 2:28Speaker 3: this is back two thousand and three, right with these
- 2:32Speaker 3: keywords and SEO, and he ended up doing the keyword analysis.
- 2:37Speaker 3: And I didn't even know what that man like keyword analysis,
- 2:39Speaker 3: like what are you talking about? Right? And so he
- 2:43Speaker 3: discovered that anything with word pressure like pressure, sprayer, pressure cleaner,
- 2:48Speaker 3: pressure surface and anything really with pressure had a very
- 2:51Speaker 3: high number of searches and the search engines and very
- 2:56Speaker 3: low supply. In other word, was very for a few
- 3:00Speaker 3: websites offered it online. Well, yes, we found out. It
- 3:06Speaker 3: took me actually six months to get the first vendor
- 3:13Speaker 3: to trust us and to belief that we can actually
- 3:16Speaker 3: sell this expensive heavy duty equipment online because it was
- 3:21Speaker 3: unheard of. Back in the day. People used to load
- 3:25Speaker 3: these pressure washers into vans. They would drive from shop
- 3:29Speaker 3: to shop and demo it. Here's how you use it,
- 3:34Speaker 3: here's what you do with it, and that's how that's
- 3:37Speaker 3: how they would sell it commercially. So it was very
- 3:41Speaker 3: very very new approach. Fast forward. I bought out my
- 3:48Speaker 3: business partner in twenty seventeen. I pivoted at a time.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I went on Amazon and became one of the seller
- 3:59Speaker 3: authority on Amazon in our product category as well as
- 4:03Speaker 3: in Walmart dot com. And then in twenty twenty four
- 4:11Speaker 3: I ended up deciding to sell the business and so
- 4:16Speaker 3: I exited from that after twenty one years. So that
- 4:20Speaker 3: was a long, long adventure with a lot of upside downs.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I kind of fast forward it here for you guys,
- 4:27Speaker 3: but it's been a it's been a roller coaster and
- 4:31Speaker 3: ever since since I sold that business, I've started something
- 4:34Speaker 3: new now in completely different industries of fintech SaaS business
- 4:39Speaker 3: on the company called a Vendo, and we help merchants
- 4:43Speaker 3: get best prices in real time from crack card processors
- 4:50Speaker 3: so that they can increase their net margins at the
- 4:54Speaker 3: end of the day. You know, being on a merchant side,
- 4:56Speaker 3: I understand how much businesses are paying to these craigcard
- 5:02Speaker 3: processors in Craig car feests. So this is supposed to
- 5:07Speaker 3: make it more competitive amongst the processors and give the
- 5:10Speaker 3: better rates to the merchants. And here we are today.
- 5:15Speaker 1: That makes sense because I'm like on WIS, for example,
- 5:19Speaker 1: when you're trying to, you know, build your business, they
- 5:23Speaker 1: have the seos and I didn't know what seos were either,
- 5:26Speaker 1: and I was like, what is that? And then when
- 5:29Speaker 1: I started doing my podcast, I had these people sending
- 5:32Speaker 1: me things about marketing my podcast and about the seos
- 5:38Speaker 1: when it comes to how it's searched. And I would
- 5:42Speaker 1: have never thought about that, you know, because a lot
- 5:44Speaker 1: of people when they do podcasts, they just get on
- 5:48Speaker 1: and they just start talking, which is fine, but even
- 5:52Speaker 1: with content creators, I asked them all the time, what
- 5:55Speaker 1: is your goal in this? You're still working your regular
- 5:58Speaker 1: nine to five job, and I get it. Social media
- 6:01Speaker 1: is a great way to express your voice. Because when
- 6:04Speaker 1: I was sick and I lost my job and I
- 6:07Speaker 1: couldn't drive and I couldn't be in the world, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 1: I had to have some way of communicating with the world.
- 6:14Speaker 1: And that's when I started just doing videos about my
- 6:17Speaker 1: journey and my health and woneness.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And then it just started into.
- 6:20Speaker 1: A podcast, and I was like, I don't think I
- 6:21Speaker 1: can do this, but one day I just said, you
- 6:24Speaker 1: know what, let me try.
- 6:25Speaker 2: And here I am talking to you.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So when I think about the seos and all of that,
- 6:30Speaker 1: as far as when you look up your podcast, what
- 6:34Speaker 1: is it under? And so I have people now telling
- 6:36Speaker 1: me your podcast is number this in this part, this
- 6:40Speaker 1: and this, And I don't think people understand the importance
- 6:43Speaker 1: of the search engine, because that is important because even
- 6:47Speaker 1: as a content creator, you should decide if this is
- 6:50Speaker 1: where your content is going to be, then you need
- 6:52Speaker 1: to have a website. You need to have something where
- 6:56Speaker 1: you're doing blogging, where you're writing, where you're content. And
- 7:00Speaker 1: I was telling a friend of mine because he's a
- 7:03Speaker 1: documentary and doesn't that field, and he's doing a website.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I said, you need to.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Have something where some of your stuff is free, and
- 7:14Speaker 1: some of your stuff is paid.
- 7:15Speaker 2: He said, what do you mean.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I said, even on YouTube you have memberships, and then
- 7:20Speaker 1: you have some people that do stuff for free. Eventually,
- 7:24Speaker 1: you're gonna want to have your Facebook groups. You're gonna
- 7:26Speaker 1: want to have your Instagram where only specific people can
- 7:30Speaker 1: see it.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And back in the day, that's how it used to be.
- 7:33Speaker 1: When we had CDs and we had albums, you had
- 7:35Speaker 1: to pay for them. Now everything is free. What you
- 7:38Speaker 1: don't understand is you're not making money off of it.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Even if it's a free app, you still have to
- 7:43Speaker 1: have commercials. You still have to have sponsors, you still
- 7:47Speaker 1: have to have products, You still have to have something
- 7:50Speaker 1: that you're selling. So I'm really, like I said, I'm
- 7:53Speaker 1: getting into jewelry, I'm getting into skincare and getting into
- 7:57Speaker 1: the herbalist thing. And I still am trying to figure
- 8:01Speaker 1: out what I mean Amazon, because I still cannot figure
- 8:05Speaker 1: out how people like when they're on social media and
- 8:08Speaker 1: they are talking about products and they'll attach it to
- 8:11Speaker 1: their store.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I still cannot figure that out. I'm still trying.
- 8:14Speaker 1: To learn how to how to do that because I
- 8:17Speaker 1: don't know how. Along with bringing my products and services
- 8:21Speaker 1: as well, so you know, that's something I would like
- 8:24Speaker 1: to ask you. Since you've done it, how do we
- 8:27Speaker 1: go about when it comes to wanting to sponsor products
- 8:32Speaker 1: or add products onto a store and then adding our
- 8:35Speaker 1: own how do we go about doing the mixture of
- 8:38Speaker 1: the both of the two if that makes sense?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Sure? Yeah, No, it's a s c o is is
- 8:45Speaker 3: is a giant of management. Yeah, you're absolutely right. You know,
- 8:52Speaker 3: starting the business, it's it's it used to be you.
- 8:57Speaker 3: You can you can find a product, put it on
- 9:02Speaker 3: a web page, buy domain, put it on a web page.
- 9:05Speaker 3: In your life, and you're in business. Well, it's not
- 9:10Speaker 3: as easy as it was before. There's there's hundreds of
- 9:15Speaker 3: millions of domains out there, and everybody is competing for
- 9:21Speaker 3: for that free organic traffic.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:23Speaker 3: We we all want to pay less if we don't
- 9:27Speaker 3: have to pay for all the ads, and if we
- 9:29Speaker 3: can get the free traffic based on the search is
- 9:33Speaker 3: that people are doing. That's the ultimate goal. Right. Everything
- 9:38Speaker 3: starts with the content, and what you're doing with with
- 9:40Speaker 3: the podcast is golden to other businesses. And we appreciate
- 9:47Speaker 3: you for what you do because for us, for me
- 9:51Speaker 3: being on a podcast, it's it's not you know it's
- 9:55Speaker 3: it's it's great that I can share the brand, but
- 9:57Speaker 3: it's also educating the public about different different aspects of
- 10:01Speaker 3: of of the businesses. And so number one is the
- 10:06Speaker 3: content really whether that content comes from content creators like
- 10:11Speaker 3: yourself or whether it's going to be a content on
- 10:14Speaker 3: your own website. But that's what's gonna really attract the traffic.
- 10:22Speaker 3: And when the search engines recognized that you have original content,
- 10:27Speaker 3: so not just something that you read and then rewrote,
- 10:32Speaker 3: they want nuggets. I call them. I came up with
- 10:38Speaker 3: a couple of years ago. I was like, you need
- 10:40Speaker 3: to we need to have nuggets. We need to have
- 10:41Speaker 3: something that that that we can give two customers that
- 10:46Speaker 3: they will hear or learn for the first time. And
- 10:49Speaker 3: this is hard to come up with, right. So once
- 10:54Speaker 3: once you you you discover your niche and and you
- 10:58Speaker 3: you you nailed it correct in your statement that you
- 11:04Speaker 3: cannot be a fixed for everything, right, if you're going
- 11:07Speaker 3: to specialize in a beauty category, you have to stick
- 11:10Speaker 3: with it. Like you can veer off too much and
- 11:13Speaker 3: start offering supplements and vitamins and yeah, that might be
- 11:17Speaker 3: very very related, but now you're doing diluting your keywords
- 11:22Speaker 3: throughout your website, So keeping keeping the keyword structure. And
- 11:27Speaker 3: when we again, when we say keywords, it's the words
- 11:30Speaker 3: that people use to search online in order to find
- 11:34Speaker 3: websites like yours a get, whether it's information on educating
- 11:38Speaker 3: themselves on how to Like back in the day when
- 11:42Speaker 3: I owned my Ultimate Washer pressure washer business, I would
- 11:49Speaker 3: interview my vendors because I didn't know much about industry
- 11:54Speaker 3: and how to do certain things. So I would interview Okay,
- 11:56Speaker 3: so how do you remove oil stained from the dryway.
- 12:00Speaker 3: That's a very common thing for homeowners. You know, they
- 12:04Speaker 3: may have oil stains in their driveways from the cars,
- 12:08Speaker 3: and so I would interview the vendors. And then there's
- 12:11Speaker 3: different you know, you use hot water and use cleaning solutions. Okay,
- 12:14Speaker 3: make sure it's buy degradable so it doesn't damage the
- 12:17Speaker 3: grass or the flowers you may have nearby things like that,
- 12:21Speaker 3: or how to remove graffiti or what kind of attachments
- 12:23Speaker 3: we need. So I interviewed a number of experts in
- 12:29Speaker 3: my industry, and then I started writing how to articles,
- 12:34Speaker 3: which then we ended up posting on our website, and
- 12:37Speaker 3: that's what really brought in traffic. And then within the website.
- 12:42Speaker 3: You have links, right, so you will say okay, for
- 12:44Speaker 3: in order to clean your driveway and you're in an
- 12:48Speaker 3: oil stain, here's here's the machine that you need, or
- 12:51Speaker 3: here's the cleaning solution. And then you include a link
- 12:54Speaker 3: and now that would take them to that page where
- 12:56Speaker 3: they can buy the product that would do exactly what
- 12:59Speaker 3: they just saw. All right about. So education content is king.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Search engines love it. And once once these customers or
- 13:11Speaker 3: visitors that come to your website start converting and become
- 13:14Speaker 3: your your paying customers. Google tracks this, you know, the
- 13:19Speaker 3: search search engines will track all these conversions and and
- 13:23Speaker 3: then you're ranking by the virtue of that improves. So
- 13:29Speaker 3: the amount of time they spend on your on your page,
- 13:31Speaker 3: the amount of pages that they browse through these customers,
- 13:35Speaker 3: all that gets tracked and and uh, it's benefiting your
- 13:40Speaker 3: your website. It's all other slew of signals that search
- 13:45Speaker 3: engines use, and one of them would be inbound links
- 13:51Speaker 3: from third party websites. So let's say you you have
- 13:53Speaker 3: such a good content that you know, somebody may say, okay,
- 13:58Speaker 3: you know, top ten, top ten. Let's say they are
- 14:02Speaker 3: a reviewer type website and say we're going to list
- 14:05Speaker 3: top ten beauty supply products for certain certain cream right,
- 14:11Speaker 3: and they say, okay, well here's these ten and if
- 14:15Speaker 3: yours is one of them amongst those ten, and they
- 14:17Speaker 3: link to your website. Now this is a signal strug
- 14:20Speaker 3: signal in SEO perspective for search engines to then say, oh,
- 14:26Speaker 3: there's basically this website that just ranked these ten websites
- 14:34Speaker 3: as a quality product seller. We're going to link to them.
- 14:39Speaker 3: So this website now basically voted for your website to
- 14:44Speaker 3: say this is legit, we like the product, we like
- 14:48Speaker 3: the content, and we are linking to them. So this
- 14:52Speaker 3: adds tremendous value these inbound links. And the more you
- 14:56Speaker 3: have of these inbound links pointing to your website, pagering
- 15:01Speaker 3: rises and it becomes more popular and by virtue again
- 15:07Speaker 3: of that, the switchins will start ranking you higher and
- 15:10Speaker 3: higher amongst all other So it's really doing all the
- 15:15Speaker 3: legwork in the beginning creating that content that is is
- 15:22Speaker 3: that people want to read that, people like that, it's popular,
- 15:26Speaker 3: that it's trendy. And if you have that and people
- 15:30Speaker 3: like you and come to your website and you start
- 15:33Speaker 3: adding about links that all we'll help you with ranking
- 15:37Speaker 3: your website better.
- 15:39Speaker 1: That makes sense because, like I said, that's what I
- 15:43Speaker 1: was trying to figure out, because I was like, I'm
- 15:44Speaker 1: doing coaching and it's about healing recovery. And what made
- 15:48Speaker 1: me start the business side of recovery as far as
- 15:51Speaker 1: healing and recovery was, it wasn't being done. You know,
- 15:55Speaker 1: so many people right now losing a job. I lost
- 15:57Speaker 1: my job in January. I said, you know, while I
- 16:02Speaker 1: was sitting there one day and I said, I was
- 16:05Speaker 1: doing my podcast and it was about minding your own business.
- 16:09Speaker 1: And I said business. That's the first thing that caught
- 16:13Speaker 1: my mind.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Business.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And I said, well, there's nothing out here about healing
- 16:19Speaker 1: and recovery from a.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Business perspective, you know.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And then I was talking to someone and they said how,
- 16:26Speaker 1: And I.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Just got on and I said, let's talk about people
- 16:29Speaker 2: to lose their jobs. You know, what do you do
- 16:32Speaker 2: when you lose your job? What happens when you wake
- 16:35Speaker 2: up in the morning.
- 16:36Speaker 1: You say, I don't want to work anymore, I don't
- 16:39Speaker 1: want to be married anymore. I said, it's a business,
- 16:44Speaker 1: and you minding your own business means not what the
- 16:49Speaker 1: world wants you to do, but what do you want
- 16:52Speaker 1: to do? And then I was thinking back in my twenties,
- 16:54Speaker 1: and I said, why is it that they pushed it
- 17:00Speaker 1: of marriage? And I was, you know how you just
- 17:02Speaker 1: sit there and you're like, and I'm fifty to fifty
- 17:05Speaker 1: two on Sunday and I'm just sitting there like, okay,
- 17:10Speaker 1: let me let me do something here, because there are
- 17:13Speaker 1: people that have lost jobs, not because they did anything wrong,
- 17:17Speaker 1: not because they didn't go to work on time, not
- 17:20Speaker 1: because they.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Didn't need production. They just lost their job.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And when I lost my dad in February of this year,
- 17:27Speaker 1: right before Valentine's Day, I.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Said, you know.
- 17:33Speaker 2: What am I gonna do now that he's gone?
- 17:38Speaker 1: And then I'm looking at all of the bills.
- 17:43Speaker 2: He has and who's gonna pay it? I'm like, he's dead.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Why are you trying to put something on me that's
- 17:49Speaker 1: not my responsibility?
- 17:51Speaker 2: And then I was just sitting there thinking and I said, you.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Know what, let me go ahead on and do this
- 17:58Speaker 1: from a business perspective, because because it's not just about
- 18:03Speaker 1: you going to work every day, what happens if you
- 18:05Speaker 1: lose your job. I'm seeing homeless people on the streets begging.
- 18:10Speaker 1: I see people sleeping in their cars, people living in
- 18:12Speaker 1: RVs and they're making money off of this and even
- 18:15Speaker 1: getting sponsors for living in their RVs. And I'm just like,
- 18:20Speaker 1: there's something here. And yeah, we talk about success, but.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Do we talk about failure? Do we talk about maintaining
- 18:30Speaker 2: your success? How is it that even if we get here, do.
- 18:36Speaker 1: We really want to get all the way down here
- 18:38Speaker 1: or do we want to be in the middle that
- 18:40Speaker 1: even if we get down a little bit, we're not here,
- 18:44Speaker 1: we don't completely lose everything.
- 18:47Speaker 2: And that's why I created this.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And so when people like yourself and other people started
- 18:53Speaker 1: reaching out to me, I was kind of surprised, but
- 18:56Speaker 1: I said, well, maybe there's onto something because these people
- 18:59Speaker 1: have needs too, you know you guys like you said,
- 19:03Speaker 1: you came from where you came from, and you basically
- 19:08Speaker 1: somebody came to you with the opportunity you said yes
- 19:11Speaker 1: without even question, whereas other people would be more like,
- 19:15Speaker 1: I don't know, Like in my country, it's more I
- 19:19Speaker 1: don't know. You know, I'm doing what's expected, I'm not
- 19:23Speaker 1: doing what I love. And I think now people are
- 19:26Speaker 1: more so it's best for what we're dealing with right now.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Are more so like if they give AI these jobs,
- 19:35Speaker 1: I honestly don't care. I'm traveling, I'm seeing the world.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I will adapt, I will take the AI. I will
- 19:43Speaker 1: use it because I you know, when it comes to
- 19:46Speaker 1: getting information for a book, you can always use it.
- 19:49Speaker 1: When you're trying to build a website, it can build
- 19:51Speaker 1: one for you, So it can be beneficial. But do
- 19:56Speaker 1: I think humanity still needs to be a part of that.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I do, But I.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Think that, you know, content creators need to understand that
- 20:06Speaker 1: you need a product, you need something that you're selling.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Because talking is fine.
- 20:12Speaker 1: But if you look at Tony Robbins and I've been
- 20:16Speaker 1: to a lot of his webinars, there's courses, there's you know,
- 20:24Speaker 1: you know, they do something when you pay ninety seven
- 20:26Speaker 1: dollars and they have an extra time that you spend
- 20:29Speaker 1: with them.
- 20:30Speaker 2: But in the end, there's something that they're selling.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Whether it's in back in the day, us be T shirts,
- 20:35Speaker 1: it used to be cups, it used to be all
- 20:37Speaker 1: of those things. And now people just think, okay, because
- 20:40Speaker 1: I'm getting sponsors, that's it. But you're still working your
- 20:44Speaker 1: rug with nine to five job. It's not going anywhere,
- 20:49Speaker 1: which is why the SEO is so important. Because once
- 20:52Speaker 1: you get your SEO, once you have a company name,
- 20:57Speaker 1: once you have a company product, then you it on
- 21:00Speaker 1: social media and still speak. Once you have a website,
- 21:03Speaker 1: once you have a sub stack, once you have something
- 21:05Speaker 1: where you're writing, you have something where people can go
- 21:08Speaker 1: to Patreon where you're making money. So, yeah, being on
- 21:12Speaker 1: TikTok is cool, and you do want to have a voice,
- 21:15Speaker 1: but why don't you take that voice and turn it
- 21:17Speaker 1: into something where you're a motivational speaker. Why don't you
- 21:20Speaker 1: take it and make it into something where you're building,
- 21:24Speaker 1: something where money is involved so you can quit. And
- 21:30Speaker 1: that's why I think these conversations are important because of that,
- 21:34Speaker 1: because people just think it's about just getting on a
- 21:36Speaker 1: platform and just talking. No, it's more than none. You're
- 21:38Speaker 1: a brain at that point. People are watching you. If
- 21:44Speaker 1: that makes sense.
- 21:47Speaker 3: A hundred percent A hundred percent. And I've taken some
- 21:50Speaker 3: notes as you as you were speaking. There's a lot there. Yeah,
- 21:57Speaker 3: nine to five job. You know, this is one of
- 21:59Speaker 3: the really perks of having an e commerce business or
- 22:05Speaker 3: now me in credit card processing business, is that it's
- 22:09Speaker 3: twenty four to seven and it works for you and
- 22:11Speaker 3: you don't have to be there right. I mean I
- 22:14Speaker 3: would be, you know, on a beach with friends, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 3: we're playing volleyball, and I would just during the break,
- 22:22Speaker 3: I would just check my phone and I would have
- 22:25Speaker 3: two or three sales that came through, and it's like
- 22:30Speaker 3: I didn't I didn't do nothing. It was just I was.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I was playing volleyball on the beach, and there it is,
- 22:35Speaker 3: you know, revenue coming in. So yes, you're correct. You
- 22:39Speaker 3: know you can you can be good at speaking uh
- 22:43Speaker 3: and have a great voice and have that type of
- 22:47Speaker 3: skill to where people will gravitate towards you, but you
- 22:51Speaker 3: have to build some kind of additional revenue around that.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Whether it's you become a coach, maybe you will be
- 23:01Speaker 3: like you said, public speaker, you know, was just at
- 23:04Speaker 3: the event last week down in Fort Lauderdale. And there's
- 23:10Speaker 3: always ways to partner with other businesses, whether it's a
- 23:17Speaker 3: JV or some kind of a partnership that you can
- 23:20Speaker 3: build where if you're let's say a business coach, or
- 23:22Speaker 3: if you are let's say a a public speaker and
- 23:26Speaker 3: you're an expert in your in your in your subject,
- 23:32Speaker 3: you can always talk about oh here's you know, here's
- 23:34Speaker 3: the website where you can get this information or here's
- 23:37Speaker 3: where you can solve this kind of problem. So and
- 23:41Speaker 3: then you basically partner with these businesses and you get
- 23:44Speaker 3: a cut from basically just speaking and recommending their product
- 23:48Speaker 3: and their service. That's pretty neat, you know, building that
- 23:52Speaker 3: mode what we call it building something that's going to
- 23:56Speaker 3: protect you, right you You you definitely have discover how
- 24:01Speaker 3: to solve you discovered a pain point, right the healing
- 24:04Speaker 3: and recovery. What happens when you when something happens in
- 24:07Speaker 3: your life and you are, like you said, you may
- 24:12Speaker 3: hit the bottom at some point, and how do you
- 24:14Speaker 3: how do you recover from that? And so you discovering
- 24:17Speaker 3: that there's no really content around it, there's nobody speaking
- 24:22Speaker 3: about it is a big advantage to you because now
- 24:27Speaker 3: people that search for this type of podcast or information,
- 24:34Speaker 3: you'll come up and people will will listen to you,
- 24:37Speaker 3: will subscribe to you, and so building additional types of
- 24:43Speaker 3: revenues around that is critical. In my e commerce business,
- 24:49Speaker 3: we basically registered a trademark with the United States Patent
- 24:54Speaker 3: Office and that allowed us to have our own brand
- 25:00Speaker 3: label on Amazon. The great thing about that was that
- 25:06Speaker 3: when you have your own trademark and you are recognized
- 25:10Speaker 3: as a you know, label product, white label product on Amazon.
- 25:14Speaker 3: You have your own listing that you control. You're not
- 25:19Speaker 3: amongst twenty or thirty or fifty other sellers on one
- 25:22Speaker 3: listing trying to compete to sell the same product. I
- 25:25Speaker 3: basically had manufacturers with my company name on the product
- 25:31Speaker 3: and that was it. We branded it as ours and
- 25:35Speaker 3: that was a huge advantage. And so you know, you
- 25:41Speaker 3: sometimes you have to do a little extra to be
- 25:44Speaker 3: able to get extra back. Right now, in my credit
- 25:48Speaker 3: card processing business, we we have filed for the patent
- 25:54Speaker 3: for the logic and algorithm that were built that does
- 25:59Speaker 3: this outing and orchestration of these transactions for the merchants.
- 26:04Speaker 3: And this this is, you know, in an attempt to
- 26:09Speaker 3: protect us for a while. Once you know, once you
- 26:11Speaker 3: have a pattern, you have a certain number of years
- 26:15Speaker 3: where you're you're you're you're protected and nobody can really
- 26:20Speaker 3: copy you on that end. So you know, again, like
- 26:25Speaker 3: you said, it's it's it's good to have that idea,
- 26:28Speaker 3: and you you're starting with a podcast, but don't settle
- 26:31Speaker 3: with just just that. And and you're still, like you said,
- 26:34Speaker 3: eight to five, you still have to be constantly creating
- 26:38Speaker 3: added add additional things to it, like for instance, for
- 26:43Speaker 3: us right now, one of the big categories is partnering
- 26:47Speaker 3: with different segments that are really closely tied to what
- 26:52Speaker 3: we do as far as the net margin. So we're looking,
- 26:54Speaker 3: for instance, for accounting firms right they do accounting for
- 27:01Speaker 3: small businesses, and they know how much small businesses struggle
- 27:06Speaker 3: to keep afloat, and if our service can give additional
- 27:14Speaker 3: one percent to their bottom line directly to their net margin,
- 27:20Speaker 3: it's something that these accounting firms will will will welcome
- 27:25Speaker 3: and they would want to recommend to their clients because
- 27:29Speaker 3: they're helping them so and then exchange, you know, we
- 27:33Speaker 3: try to sort of also have a way for them
- 27:36Speaker 3: to to meet our clients through certain presentations that they
- 27:42Speaker 3: do on taxes and sales stacks and use stacks, and
- 27:46Speaker 3: that way they can also we can sort of reciprocate
- 27:48Speaker 3: that way that they can also get some some clients
- 27:52Speaker 3: of ours. So it's a two way street. That's one.
- 27:55Speaker 3: You know, payroll companies as well is who we partner
- 27:58Speaker 3: with business consultants, so you kind of you you're widening
- 28:03Speaker 3: your network by partnering with other businesses that are similar
- 28:07Speaker 3: in a sense, that you may share the same customer,
- 28:11Speaker 3: but you're not competing directly with product or service that
- 28:14Speaker 3: you're offering. So you you you got to think outside
- 28:19Speaker 3: the box. You gotta think what are the other venues
- 28:21Speaker 3: that can help me grow grow my business? How else
- 28:27Speaker 3: I can I could channel? What are the additional marketing
- 28:30Speaker 3: arms that would be helpful to my business? Uh? And
- 28:37Speaker 3: yeah there's other things scalability, automation, we can talk about
- 28:40Speaker 3: all that, but you have to be committed and you
- 28:43Speaker 3: have to you know, sometimes evenings, sometimes weekend, sometimes holidays,
- 28:49Speaker 3: and you have to especially in the beginning first year
- 28:51Speaker 3: or so. You know, here I am, you know, doing no.
- 28:56Speaker 3: I have no problem. And that's that's one of my things.
- 28:58Speaker 3: My wife always like was always working, you know. So
- 29:02Speaker 3: but when we go on vacation, you know, we really
- 29:04Speaker 3: go on vacation, we check out. So yeah, those are
- 29:09Speaker 3: those are the things, you know, I wanted to say,
- 29:11Speaker 3: it's you know, selling online, you know, twenty four to
- 29:14Speaker 3: seven gig you don't have to be even present, labeling,
- 29:19Speaker 3: trademarking your your product or service, protecting it that way
- 29:24Speaker 3: and planning for the future.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I love that and that's where I wanted to have
- 29:29Speaker 1: this conversation with you because I wanted to see what
- 29:31Speaker 1: direction we're want to go, and I think that would
- 29:33Speaker 1: be perfect because me starting off, there are many things
- 29:37Speaker 1: I want to do, but I want everything to be
- 29:38Speaker 1: centered around coaching, the health, the healthcare part of it,
- 29:43Speaker 1: the spiritual part of it. So all the products will
- 29:45Speaker 1: be centered around that. But I was like, I want
- 29:49Speaker 1: to do the podcast and the coaching first, and the
- 29:51Speaker 1: courses and all of that. So then when I get
- 29:54Speaker 1: into helping pay you know, clients with what works for you,
- 29:58Speaker 1: then that should be based on your health through wonness.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Everything your business, all of that should be based upon
- 30:03Speaker 1: your health and woneness.
- 30:04Speaker 2: And that's something that I do.
- 30:06Speaker 1: What I consume, what I acknowledge is based on my
- 30:09Speaker 1: health and wonness. That's just something that's important to me
- 30:12Speaker 1: because of what I went through my medical issues, and
- 30:15Speaker 1: I said, well, if I'm going to do this, and
- 30:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna do scincare, hair care, candles, all of these things,
- 30:21Speaker 1: then those things will be centered around the original name
- 30:24Speaker 1: that's going to be the name of the actual company itself.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And then with my travel agent that's through another company
- 30:33Speaker 1: because I'm working with someone, but eventually I might decide
- 30:35Speaker 1: to do something on my own, Why does that benefit
- 30:38Speaker 1: me because I save money when it come to traveling.
- 30:40Speaker 1: It was just one of those things where I said,
- 30:42Speaker 1: what are all of these things that's going to contribute
- 30:45Speaker 1: with my actual coaching? And I think travel agency was one,
- 30:50Speaker 1: scan care, hair care of food, all of these different things,
- 30:56Speaker 1: but they're all under one brand. So I'm not doing
- 31:00Speaker 1: I'm still coaching. But at the same time, those products
- 31:04Speaker 1: may come from someone else. Like I may go through
- 31:07Speaker 1: your company and say I want to use your e
- 31:09Speaker 1: commerce to help with my you know, as far as
- 31:13Speaker 1: payments and processing payments, and you're guiding me through that.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I might go through another company and say I would
- 31:19Speaker 1: love to incorporate your products, and can you make me
- 31:21Speaker 1: something that incorporates with you know, health and wellness and
- 31:26Speaker 1: we're working together.
- 31:27Speaker 2: To create something.
- 31:28Speaker 1: And when I watched you know, sharp Tank before I
- 31:31Speaker 1: let you go, I see people say I want one
- 31:34Speaker 1: hundred and ten thousand dollars or ten percent of one
- 31:37Speaker 1: hundred thousand dollars, and I said, Okay, that's cool, but
- 31:44Speaker 1: say you want to buy it back. Now you're being
- 31:47Speaker 1: charged more because in your contract you didn't state that.
- 31:52Speaker 2: If I buy it back.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I want it buy the same amount that I paid for.
- 31:58Speaker 1: And then you can also flip that to say, going
- 32:01Speaker 1: from them investing till now you're making money because they
- 32:04Speaker 1: helped you get into the door, to you saying Okay,
- 32:06Speaker 1: I want to buy it back, but I still want
- 32:08Speaker 1: to pay you to consult with me as far as
- 32:12Speaker 1: keeping that business alive. And that's something my dad taught me.
- 32:16Speaker 1: He said, yeah, you do want people to invest in you.
- 32:20Speaker 1: You do, but you also want to buy back your
- 32:23Speaker 1: company to where you own one hundred percent of it.
- 32:26Speaker 1: You still can take those same people and still, you know,
- 32:30Speaker 1: help have them help you as far as still making money.
- 32:35Speaker 2: And that's what you can do. And I just think
- 32:37Speaker 2: it's important that people understand that. You know, you look
- 32:40Speaker 2: at Rihanna, you.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Look at all these people, and you look at the
- 32:43Speaker 1: fact that they are billionaires. But if you look at
- 32:47Speaker 1: these new businesses now, they're not where they're one hundred million,
- 32:54Speaker 1: one hundred billion, like Eon Musk, like Jeff Bezos, like
- 32:59Speaker 1: Bill Gates. They're just at the billionaire mark. And that's
- 33:04Speaker 1: because they're in a company within a company, versus a
- 33:09Speaker 1: person that's independent that's on their own. It's like, I
- 33:13Speaker 1: don't want to be incorporated with anybody's company. I just
- 33:17Speaker 1: want to partner with you and I just want to
- 33:20Speaker 1: work so you can help me to build my business.
- 33:22Speaker 1: But at the same time, eventually I want to be
- 33:25Speaker 1: able to pay for your services, pay for your distribution.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Because back then with COCH, when it came to the
- 33:31Speaker 1: record labels, COCH was something that was huge because it
- 33:35Speaker 1: wasn't about them, you know, putting you on as you
- 33:39Speaker 1: being an artist, no got you were able to have
- 33:43Speaker 1: your own label and you were able to make money.
- 33:47Speaker 2: They just put money into your distribution.
- 33:49Speaker 1: They just put money into your advertisement, but you had
- 33:53Speaker 1: to pay for that. And then when you started making money,
- 33:56Speaker 1: then you started paying them, and it was the opposite.
- 33:59Speaker 2: So I don't.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Understand why we've changed that as far as that goes.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, music industry, you know, I I my son was
- 34:09Speaker 3: was for years trying to to break through, and yeah,
- 34:12Speaker 3: a lot a lot has changed from from people paying
- 34:16Speaker 3: for CDs and then went to streaming and the artists
- 34:18Speaker 3: getting zero point zero zero zero zero one dollars per
- 34:24Speaker 3: stream and it's just you need gazillion streams to just
- 34:28Speaker 3: maybe make you know, two three thousand dollars. So yeah,
- 34:34Speaker 3: that's that's another completely another topic on how that evolved
- 34:39Speaker 3: and why went that route with with record labels. But yeah,
- 34:46Speaker 3: as going back to the original point, just as far
- 34:50Speaker 3: as the consulting, and you know, I think one question
- 34:53Speaker 3: that a lot of a lot of people forget to
- 34:56Speaker 3: ask themselves is how you have a great idea and
- 35:01Speaker 3: you know that that you can deliver on that idea
- 35:05Speaker 3: and you can expand, But one question to be asked
- 35:09Speaker 3: is who's your paying customer? Who is actually going to
- 35:16Speaker 3: open up their wallet and pull out the credit card
- 35:20Speaker 3: and pay for their service? Right? And then once you
- 35:24Speaker 3: when you say okay, here's here's what I want, it's
- 35:26Speaker 3: a it's a a great example which could tie into
- 35:31Speaker 3: you and just just just an idea. You know, for
- 35:34Speaker 3: business owners that are trying to sell their business, you
- 35:41Speaker 3: won't believe what kind of emotional roller coaster that processes.
- 35:47Speaker 3: And you may have as a business owner, rock solid
- 35:50Speaker 3: business and you know your books are top notch and
- 35:55Speaker 3: your staff you have you have people there that work
- 35:58Speaker 3: for you for years, and you may have SOPs written
- 36:02Speaker 3: everything is you know, inventory is tight, your revenues is
- 36:07Speaker 3: coming in, you're growing. You will still have the buyers
- 36:12Speaker 3: that will scrutinize and ask questions and question this and
- 36:17Speaker 3: question that, and one day you think you're top of
- 36:19Speaker 3: the hill, great, this is going great, and then you
- 36:23Speaker 3: don't hear from them two weeks and says, Okay, we're done.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Nothing's gonna come out of it. And it's a big
- 36:29Speaker 3: roller coaster emotional for I've spoken you know, I was
- 36:32Speaker 3: a member of Entrepreneurs organization for twelve years. I joined
- 36:37Speaker 3: the South Florida chapter and we had about two hundred
- 36:42Speaker 3: members in our chapter, but it's like a seventeen thousand
- 36:45Speaker 3: member organization of business owners. And I've heard this story
- 36:50Speaker 3: over and over of going through this challenges because the
- 36:54Speaker 3: process may take minimum six it could be sometimes a
- 36:58Speaker 3: whole year to sell to sell the business, uh, and
- 37:02Speaker 3: then what comes after? You know if a lot of
- 37:07Speaker 3: times you hear the business owners are unprepared for the
- 37:10Speaker 3: life after the sale.
- 37:12Speaker 1: And.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Some of them go and and become depressed and they
- 37:17Speaker 3: deal with depression. So that could be also another niche
- 37:22Speaker 3: where you know, you may be dealing with a customer
- 37:26Speaker 3: that you know has the financial ability to support this
- 37:33Speaker 3: type of healing process. But yeah, you have to identify
- 37:38Speaker 3: your your group of your customers, and then the next
- 37:41Speaker 3: step after that is really talking to these individuals that
- 37:46Speaker 3: you identified will be your potential clients and talking to
- 37:50Speaker 3: them about your project and see if there's interest. Right,
- 37:54Speaker 3: it's one thing you see, Oh yeah, I know they're
- 37:57Speaker 3: gonna love me. They're gonna love my content, all love
- 38:00Speaker 3: what I have to offer, They're gonna listen to me.
- 38:03Speaker 3: And more than not, the plans don't work out the businesses.
- 38:08Speaker 3: So we have to do as much of a legwork beforehand,
- 38:14Speaker 3: checking what is viable, because we may love the idea,
- 38:20Speaker 3: but what if there's no demand or maybe I'm looking
- 38:23Speaker 3: at the wrong spot. Maybe that's I need to be
- 38:25Speaker 3: looking at, you know, a different group of individuals. And
- 38:31Speaker 3: so just just be be honest with yourself and being
- 38:37Speaker 3: able to adapt and change. You know, I've I've had
- 38:41Speaker 3: my my said in the beginning, I've had my ups
- 38:45Speaker 3: and downs with my e commerce business. And it hit
- 38:50Speaker 3: me hard in twenty twelve, twenty thirteen when Google changed
- 38:54Speaker 3: altogether their algorithm and where I for seven or eight
- 38:58Speaker 3: years I enjoyed, believe it or not, I was top
- 39:02Speaker 3: three organic searches. So when people typing pressure washer, powerwasher pressures.
- 39:07Speaker 3: I would come up top three on anything related in
- 39:11Speaker 3: related to pressure washers, and I would get ten thousand
- 39:16Speaker 3: unique visitors to my website per month. And it was
- 39:21Speaker 3: just due to SEO. I never had to advertise in Google.
- 39:26Speaker 3: I never I never spent people. How do you how
- 39:28Speaker 3: do you do that? Like, we never spent a dime
- 39:32Speaker 3: on ads on Google. But then it changed twenty twelve
- 39:36Speaker 3: and almost overnight we lost all that traffic. And it's hard.
- 39:44Speaker 3: It's hard, you know, you have to reinvent yourself, pick
- 39:49Speaker 3: up the pieces, look for solutions. That's when I started
- 39:56Speaker 3: looking into Amazon, but I wasn't really understanding it, so
- 39:59Speaker 3: we kind of dipped our toes. We went a little bit.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I don't know if this seems complicated and I need
- 40:05Speaker 3: a lot more because that I had to store inventory
- 40:07Speaker 3: versus I could be drop shipping from vendors directly. So
- 40:11Speaker 3: I dropped that. And then then in twenty fifteen, I
- 40:16Speaker 3: decided to hire a consultant who specialized in in e
- 40:21Speaker 3: commerce transferring to Amazon platform. And it was expensive, it
- 40:27Speaker 3: was a cheap at all the service, but he helped us.
- 40:33Speaker 3: You know, this agency helped us put all the policies,
- 40:38Speaker 3: procedures in place, He set the boundaries, we got new
- 40:43Speaker 3: order management system in place. We even moved, we got
- 40:48Speaker 3: into a bigger place with more warehouse space. It was
- 40:51Speaker 3: a huge investment. This is where actually, you know, we
- 40:55Speaker 3: were doing so badly that I had to reinvest my
- 40:59Speaker 3: own money. And you know, these are tough conversations that
- 41:02Speaker 3: you have to have, you know, if you're if your
- 41:04Speaker 3: humarity a partner, and you know, I was lucky that
- 41:09Speaker 3: my wife trusted me. You know, we had to put
- 41:11Speaker 3: back a lot of personal savings into the business. And
- 41:17Speaker 3: my partner with another business at the time, he sold
- 41:21Speaker 3: that and he wanted to exit this mutual business. And
- 41:24Speaker 3: though so I had to buy him out because I
- 41:26Speaker 3: didn't I didn't want to capitulate. I didn't. I'm like,
- 41:29Speaker 3: I'm not quitting. I'm gonna recover. I'm gonna turn this
- 41:32Speaker 3: thing around. And uh, it wasn't easy. It took us
- 41:36Speaker 3: a couple of years. I had to downsize. Unfortunately. We
- 41:40Speaker 3: talked about people, you know, losing jobs without their fault,
- 41:44Speaker 3: and it wasn't. Uh. It just changed in the market,
- 41:47Speaker 3: change in how search engines would rank small businesses. Uh,
- 41:55Speaker 3: And we had some tough decisions to make, but we
- 41:59Speaker 3: were covered twenty eighteen and then more and more we
- 42:04Speaker 3: were capturing bigger and bigger traffic and more organic traffic
- 42:08Speaker 3: now on Amazon. So we basically were getting free clicks
- 42:15Speaker 3: and hits on Amazon by the verge of having the
- 42:19Speaker 3: store and having a bunch of these listings that were
- 42:22Speaker 3: again with the help of consultant and white labeling the product,
- 42:26Speaker 3: and then you know, we were able to get back
- 42:31Speaker 3: on track. But you know, nothing is not you know,
- 42:35Speaker 3: from the outside it looks great, and you know here
- 42:37Speaker 3: it is. You know, somebody can run a business and
- 42:40Speaker 3: live a great life, but man, we go through turbulence
- 42:43Speaker 3: and then some So keep above the water, don't give up.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Look for solutions. You know, we, you know, as entrepreneurs
- 42:53Speaker 3: were built that way. We're built to find solutions and
- 42:59Speaker 3: just sticking with it.
- 43:01Speaker 1: I love that and I can't wait to do this
- 43:04Speaker 1: actual podcast with you because I think the way you
- 43:07Speaker 1: said it is something a lot of people need to hear,
- 43:09Speaker 1: because you don't hear billionaires talk about that and say,
- 43:13Speaker 1: when I first started, I lost more than I gained,
- 43:17Speaker 1: and now that I'm a billionaire, you know, yeah, they
- 43:21Speaker 1: slow down. But I don't think people understand the pitfalls
- 43:26Speaker 1: of it all. And I think there's nothing wrong with
- 43:29Speaker 1: someone saying this is what I went through. That's why
- 43:32Speaker 1: I do these pre conversations because I get to know
- 43:35Speaker 1: the person before I get to know their product. And
- 43:38Speaker 1: my audience loves that because they get to know the
- 43:40Speaker 1: person and the auticity of the person, the authentics of
- 43:44Speaker 1: the person, and they're like, oh.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Well, they're just like me. They came from nothing.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Because we think that billionaires and business owners are untouchable
- 43:53Speaker 1: because we never see them in our workplace.
- 43:57Speaker 2: We never meet with them. And when they did Undercover.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Ball, for example, that was the first time that bosses
- 44:05Speaker 1: got to be with their employees that didn't live in
- 44:07Speaker 1: the same city or state. They got to see with
- 44:09Speaker 1: everything that was going on. And I said, for me,
- 44:13Speaker 1: if I ever did that, you would see me. You'd
- 44:17Speaker 1: be able to have access to me. And the one
- 44:19Speaker 1: thing I don't want is I want to people to elevate.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I want people that work for me to have something
- 44:26Speaker 1: of their own, but we still work together to build something,
- 44:31Speaker 1: even if I'm franchising something. I want people for us
- 44:34Speaker 1: to still work together because they may come up with
- 44:37Speaker 1: ideas that I may not be able to.
- 44:40Speaker 2: So I don't want to hold anybody back from their growth.
- 44:43Speaker 1: But at the same time, I would rather be a
- 44:45Speaker 1: teacher in that where I'm teaching my employees that, yeah,
- 44:49Speaker 1: you can work for me, and you still have a
- 44:52Speaker 1: safe space if something go wrong if you go elsewhere.
- 44:55Speaker 2: But I want to see you fly. I want to
- 44:58Speaker 2: see you elevate.
- 45:00Speaker 1: If I see somebody wanting to own their own business,
- 45:02Speaker 1: I would rather them be able to help them to
- 45:04Speaker 1: build that and knowing that I could tribute to that.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Then hold somebody back and they're not able to retire,
- 45:11Speaker 1: because now this younger generation may not be able to retire.
- 45:14Speaker 1: And that's just some of the things. As far as
- 45:16Speaker 1: why I created this was for that reason because I
- 45:20Speaker 1: think that yes, going to school, getting education, even if
- 45:25Speaker 1: you didn't. I think it's important to be able to
- 45:28Speaker 1: when you have children, to have that work life balance
- 45:31Speaker 1: and you're there for them. CA's part of the reason
- 45:34Speaker 1: that they go through the influence. We're not there when
- 45:37Speaker 1: they made decisions. We're not around when other kids and
- 45:41Speaker 1: other adults are, you know, influencing them. And I said,
- 45:44Speaker 1: when I had a child with autism, I said that.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I was not working where I wasn't going to be home.
- 45:50Speaker 1: By the time he got out of school, I wasn't
- 45:52Speaker 1: going to be I was going to be there, and
- 45:54Speaker 1: that was something that was.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Important to me.
- 45:56Speaker 1: And now I'm building something on my own because he's thirty,
- 45:58Speaker 1: and I said, I want to make sure that he
- 46:00Speaker 1: gonna be good because he's autistic, that there's residual income
- 46:03Speaker 1: coming in for him, so he will be fine even
- 46:07Speaker 1: after me, and even after him, my legacy will live
- 46:11Speaker 1: on past me. I didn't want to see somebody I died.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Nobody knows who I am except my family. You know,
- 46:18Speaker 1: even some of the greatest people, they die, but you
- 46:21Speaker 1: still know who they are because you still have something
- 46:24Speaker 1: left behind that people get to enjoy, people get the
- 46:27Speaker 1: benefit from, and be educated on. I just think that's
- 46:30Speaker 1: that's important.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you identified you're definitely your driving force, your fuel, right.
- 46:37Speaker 3: You want to leave something behind you that people will
- 46:41Speaker 3: appreciate and respect, and like you said, it's not going
- 46:44Speaker 3: to be forgotten, It's going to be hopefully used over
- 46:47Speaker 3: and over. Yeah. I'm similarly to you to your point
- 46:54Speaker 3: of you want to be able to be reachable by
- 46:58Speaker 3: your staff and employees. I've always had open door policy,
- 47:01Speaker 3: and literally my door was open all the time, like
- 47:05Speaker 3: you can come in and ask anything. And so I
- 47:09Speaker 3: get to know some fantastic people. And you know, people
- 47:14Speaker 3: have people have you know, people have problems at home
- 47:18Speaker 3: and family and and you know they'll they'll come to
- 47:22Speaker 3: me and talk to me about different things and I
- 47:24Speaker 3: would listen and help whenever I can, and you know
- 47:27Speaker 3: we would, we would pay advancements and things like that
- 47:29Speaker 3: just to help them bridge some some tough times. But
- 47:34Speaker 3: you have to be there. You have to show us
- 47:36Speaker 3: as a leader that you care, that you're available and
- 47:39Speaker 3: that you you you can listen and you can even
- 47:42Speaker 3: if you don't give any advice. Just just being able
- 47:46Speaker 3: to understand and understand them and the position they're in,
- 47:50Speaker 3: you know, and be compassionate goes a long way. So yeah,
- 47:55Speaker 3: I'm with you. Just being able to uh just be available,
- 47:58Speaker 3: be available for your your staff whenever you can. And
- 48:02Speaker 3: like I said, that has been one of my policies.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Like if you want to speak to me anytime, you know,
- 48:09Speaker 3: any day, I'm.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Here, that's important.
- 48:13Speaker 1: So I'm really looking forward to doing this podcast episode
- 48:16Speaker 1: with you because it's really gonna be something that's going
- 48:19Speaker 1: to give people a really different perspective of being content creators,
- 48:25Speaker 1: but also building something within that to where you're not
- 48:31Speaker 1: just a voice. You have something that you created, whether
- 48:36Speaker 1: it's substack, whether it's writing, blogging that you're getting a
- 48:42Speaker 1: paid income so you can say I can quit my
- 48:45Speaker 1: regue nine to five job. This is now my profession.
- 48:50Speaker 1: So I think that's very important. And your story and
- 48:54Speaker 1: hearing this has been fascinating, so I'm really looking forward
- 48:57Speaker 1: to it. So whenever you're a I would love to
- 49:01Speaker 1: do it. I really would, And if you need me
- 49:03Speaker 1: to send the link, I will definitely send it. And
- 49:06Speaker 1: I thank you so much for even taking the time
- 49:09Speaker 1: to do this with me. I greatly appreciate it because
- 49:11Speaker 1: there's a lot as far as the direction we can
- 49:15Speaker 1: go in in this conversation.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Okay, far too of this.
- 49:19Speaker 3: I would love. I would love that as well. It's
- 49:21Speaker 3: very easy to speak to you. I like your transitions,
- 49:24Speaker 3: how you go from you know, speaking about the topic
- 49:28Speaker 3: or subtopic and then you kind of slowly ease it in.
- 49:31Speaker 3: It gives me time to sort of get my mind
- 49:35Speaker 3: into it and and I take notes in the meantime,
- 49:38Speaker 3: so so keep doing that. That that that's helpful for
- 49:41Speaker 3: the for the guests that you have on because they
- 49:44Speaker 3: can they can prepare. Uh yeah, I would love to
- 49:47Speaker 3: do this. I have a couple of questions for you. Okay,
- 49:52Speaker 3: So as far as the audience, who is your primary
- 49:54Speaker 3: audience for the podcast?
- 49:56Speaker 2: My audiences people.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I do different types of I do spiritual, mental, psychological.
- 50:02Speaker 1: But the one I'm going to have you on is
- 50:04Speaker 1: from a business recovery of people that right now are
- 50:09Speaker 1: scared right now, people that have lost their job with everything.
- 50:13Speaker 2: That's going on in the United States.
- 50:15Speaker 1: It's like, I want people that when they become financially
- 50:20Speaker 1: stable after all of this, if they do somewhat lose something,
- 50:26Speaker 1: they don't get here. They're kind of like in the middle.
- 50:29Speaker 1: So you know, it's about Okay, I can obtain anything.
- 50:32Speaker 1: I can obtain a business, I can obtain a brand,
- 50:36Speaker 1: But how do I maintain that If I'm someone that's
- 50:40Speaker 1: transitioning over to working a nine to five job to
- 50:44Speaker 1: taking what I do, taking what I love, and now
- 50:46Speaker 1: I'm making into a business, how do I learn the steps?
- 50:50Speaker 2: Because when I was doing.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Coaching, for example, nobody taught me it was about selling
- 50:57Speaker 1: me something versus me. Actually, you know them actually teaching us,
- 51:03Speaker 1: And I said, I didn't want to be that. If
- 51:05Speaker 1: I'm going to if I'm going to tell you something,
- 51:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna teach you through my only my own experiences.
- 51:12Speaker 1: But you will see how I'm talking to people like
- 51:16Speaker 1: you who do e commerce, which I would need talking
- 51:19Speaker 1: to people that are business people that are saying it
- 51:23Speaker 1: is work.
- 51:24Speaker 2: There's a lot of work that goes into it. There's
- 51:26Speaker 2: a lot of ups and downs.
- 51:27Speaker 1: People that's being honest and not making it seem like
- 51:31Speaker 1: it's this get rich quick scheme. So I'll give you
- 51:34Speaker 1: an example. There was a woman that used to do fitness.
- 51:38Speaker 1: She talked about all of the people from Richard Simmons,
- 51:42Speaker 1: Billy Blanca and how they started these megabusinesses and they're
- 51:46Speaker 1: now broke. You know, we don't talk about that. We
- 51:52Speaker 1: don't know the whole story of it all. So my
- 51:56Speaker 1: audience is for people that's like, we got to see
- 51:59Speaker 1: this what this is. It isn't just about Okay, I
- 52:02Speaker 1: make some money and then I spend it. No, you
- 52:05Speaker 1: have to put money back in your business until you
- 52:08Speaker 1: make enough inprofit.
- 52:09Speaker 2: To where you're able to enjoy it.
- 52:12Speaker 1: When you hire people, make sure there are people that
- 52:15Speaker 1: you actually need, not people like what happened with Steve
- 52:18Speaker 1: Harvey when he was giving his accountant checks and the
- 52:22Speaker 1: checks were still there and they're paid as taxes. So
- 52:27Speaker 1: you are the root of all of it. And no
- 52:30Speaker 1: matter who you bring into your business, that don't mean
- 52:35Speaker 1: they have your best interests at heart. That don't mean
- 52:38Speaker 1: they're going to not try to take advantage of it.
- 52:42Speaker 1: I've seen many designers that have design clothes and manage
- 52:47Speaker 1: designers take them and then all of a sudden.
- 52:50Speaker 2: You're screwed.
- 52:52Speaker 1: How do you protect yourself from something that you created that, yes,
- 52:57Speaker 1: people are going to try to implicate or try to emulate,
- 53:03Speaker 1: but you're protecting you. You're protected, you know, a trademarking, copywriting, domains,
- 53:10Speaker 1: things of that nature. You making sure that you have
- 53:13Speaker 1: people that work for you that want to see you win.
- 53:18Speaker 2: But at the same time, I.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Would like to see what they can do, what their
- 53:23Speaker 1: ideas are, how I can uplift them so their families
- 53:27Speaker 1: are taken care of, not just keeping them in this
- 53:30Speaker 1: lower vibration of where they're barely getting by and I'm
- 53:33Speaker 1: up here making money.
- 53:35Speaker 2: No, if I'm gonna build, I'm gonna build you with me.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Why Because if I build you, then you're gonna work
- 53:43Speaker 1: harder for me. And if I can take what you
- 53:45Speaker 1: what you do, help you make a company. But you
- 53:47Speaker 1: still I'm paying you to work for me. You're still
- 53:51Speaker 1: working for me, but now you're also benefiting me, and
- 53:55Speaker 1: now we're partners. So I'm not trying to keep anybody there.
- 53:59Speaker 1: I want people to eleve and grow and evolve. And
- 54:03Speaker 1: that is something why financially I decided to do that
- 54:07Speaker 1: because I've been.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Down that road.
- 54:09Speaker 1: I'm losing my job constantly being afraid of if I'm
- 54:13Speaker 1: being homeless or not, whether I'm being take care of
- 54:16Speaker 1: my family or not. So that's the audience I'm getting
- 54:22Speaker 1: that fear yes, scary, yes, but that ending road when
- 54:29Speaker 1: you get there being able to maintain that so even
- 54:34Speaker 1: if you go through that bad period, you're not completely
- 54:37Speaker 1: rock bottom, that you're making the right choices to where
- 54:40Speaker 1: you're bringing the right people in. That's going to help
- 54:42Speaker 1: you to build something that's going to be a legacy
- 54:46Speaker 1: when you leave this earth, where you have that work balance,
- 54:48Speaker 1: where like you said, you can be on to be
- 54:50Speaker 1: somewhere and be anywhere and just work because you're doing
- 54:53Speaker 1: what you love more so than doing something that's expected,
- 54:56Speaker 1: taking what you're educated in and eventually building something, because
- 55:00Speaker 1: that's what I learned when I was in Germany, that
- 55:02Speaker 1: it was about you working in business, learning the business,
- 55:05Speaker 1: and then building something of your own.
- 55:08Speaker 2: And yet we're not doing that in that society. If
- 55:10Speaker 2: that makes sense.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Absolutely, it all makes sense. No, we're just speaking. I
- 55:15Speaker 3: have other stories, but I don't want to keep you.
- 55:18Speaker 3: We can share that on How long will it be?
- 55:21Speaker 3: How long will the session be or the interview?
- 55:24Speaker 2: About an hour?
- 55:25Speaker 3: I say, okay, all right. Will you be able to
- 55:29Speaker 3: send some questions in advance?
- 55:31Speaker 1: Yes, I certainly can't, or you can send me what
- 55:33Speaker 1: you think you want to talk about and then we
- 55:34Speaker 1: can go back and forth. Yeah.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Absolutely, it's okay. I mean, I yeah, the tomic've covered
- 55:41Speaker 3: here is fine, but yeah, it's it's just I like
- 55:43Speaker 3: to maybe sometimes I overly prepare, but I definitely want
- 55:47Speaker 3: to be prepared.
- 55:49Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, Yeah, I would love that. Absolutely.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I will make sure I will look over the conversation
- 55:55Speaker 1: and then I will see what questions I want to
- 55:57Speaker 1: ask and things of that nature based on the topic.
- 56:00Speaker 2: But yeah, I can do that today.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Awesome. And what platforms. Is your podcast present.
- 56:07Speaker 1: On Amazon, Google, Spotify, iTunes, Spreaker, Drinser, cash Box.
- 56:16Speaker 2: It's like ten or fifteen different podcasts actually.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Okay, are you able to would you be able to
- 56:23Speaker 3: link from some of these yes, to my website? Maybe?
- 56:27Speaker 1: Yes, I will send you a copy of this Actually,
- 56:29Speaker 1: when we do the conversation I send you, I will
- 56:32Speaker 1: send it to you so you can post it by
- 56:33Speaker 1: all means.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Okay, do you have your own website where you post.
- 56:38Speaker 1: I'm working on that as we speak, but I do
- 56:41Speaker 1: on Spreaker. I do have it where it is available
- 56:45Speaker 1: where I can do things from behind the scenes from there.
- 56:48Speaker 1: But as far as a website, I'm working on trying
- 56:50Speaker 1: to do that now, trying to have that set up.
- 56:53Speaker 3: Okay, all right, okay, yeah, that's all I had. Yeah,
- 56:59Speaker 3: if you can send me the pages where your podcasts
- 57:04Speaker 3: are and then the questions, that's all I would need
- 57:07Speaker 3: really to get me going.
- 57:10Speaker 1: That'd be great. I will definitely send that to you.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Thank you so much for taking the time to do
- 57:15Speaker 1: this with me. I greatly really appreciate it.
- 57:17Speaker 3: My pleasure and thank you, and I think you're doing
- 57:19Speaker 3: a great thing. And I always say if a person
- 57:25Speaker 3: can get one takeaway. I'm very thankful for that. It
- 57:31Speaker 3: doesn't have to be anything glamorous, are big, or just
- 57:34Speaker 3: if you have one thing that you'll learn. It's fantastic
- 57:38Speaker 3: for me exactly.
- 57:39Speaker 2: And every person is different.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Sometimes it's more natural where the conversation is more natural,
- 57:44Speaker 1: and like yourself, some people want questions. So that's the
- 57:47Speaker 1: whole point of doing these conversations because it really gives
- 57:50Speaker 1: people a chance to really get to know each other better,
- 57:53Speaker 1: see how your conversation gonna go, how it's going to flow,
- 57:56Speaker 1: and then the topic kind of just speaks for itself
- 57:59Speaker 1: to that conversation.
- 58:00Speaker 2: So I think that's important.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Okay, And then I just wanted to ask you as
- 58:04Speaker 3: far as the how how long I was I was speaking?
- 58:09Speaker 3: Do you want to shorten that?
- 58:11Speaker 2: Or is this it was perfect? It's perfect.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I like people to be I like to have natural conversations.
- 58:17Speaker 1: I like people to be real. I like people to
- 58:19Speaker 1: be more honest and authentic. So no, it's perfect, Okay,
- 58:23Speaker 1: definitely personal.
- 58:25Speaker 3: All right, Yeah, No, I just want to know if
- 58:27Speaker 3: there's any other boundaries, just let me know. I want
- 58:30Speaker 3: to make sure that you know I'm within your guardrails.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's probably all of this and just going more
- 58:37Speaker 1: into more detailed then maybe some additional questions, like maybe
- 58:41Speaker 1: more about you know, the company and what you do
- 58:43Speaker 1: and your processes, and more so.
- 58:47Speaker 2: About just the fact of.
- 58:50Speaker 1: How important that that transformation from the content creators to now,
- 58:55Speaker 1: because like I said, a lot of content creators don't
- 58:57Speaker 1: know this. They just think it's just about talk and sponsoring,
- 59:01Speaker 1: and I'm just trying to get them to understand there's
- 59:02Speaker 1: just way more to it than that, and how your
- 59:05Speaker 1: company would benefit from that when they start getting into
- 59:08Speaker 1: their own products and their own services and how to
- 59:11Speaker 1: go about setting up like an Amazon store and things
- 59:14Speaker 1: like that that process because I don't know that either,
- 59:17Speaker 1: so that would help me. So just people that are
- 59:19Speaker 1: starting off trying to get Amazon stores and how to
- 59:22Speaker 1: go about doing a trademarking, copyrighting, protecting yourself, things of
- 59:27Speaker 1: that nature. Just those those things pretty much, I would
- 59:30Speaker 1: like to talk about people that are just trying to
- 59:32Speaker 1: start out from the beginning, how that process work and
- 59:36Speaker 1: how your commerce would basically benefit that, if that makes sense.
- 59:41Speaker 3: I mean, I can get as technical as you want
- 59:44Speaker 3: me to. Sometimes I noticed that, you know, I can
- 59:49Speaker 3: get very technical and people get checked out. So that's
- 59:52Speaker 3: why I was kind of holding back. I was just like,
- 59:54Speaker 3: let me, let me just plan to see like, okay, yeah,
- 59:57Speaker 3: trademark is important. Like if you can get that, that's
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: already a big step. You know, how do you get
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: the trademark? Where do you go? Like it's I think
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: it becomes too technical. But if you want me to
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: go into more granule, I can.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be perfect because let that's what I said.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: This is why I do this, so that.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Way people get to think and then when we meet again,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: they already know everything about how the conversations going to go,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: and they can go a little bit more technical because
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: by all means, more information is better.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Okay, So this is not being published from today. It's
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: going to be the next session.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Yeah, what I might do is take some of what
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: you said just to give people an introduction of how
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: the conversation.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Is going to be.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Okay, and then when we do it again, because just
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: in case it may be a few months or a
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: few weeks, people know how our conversations go and so
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: and like I said, this was just like doing a
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: podcast anyway, It's just I will take this part of
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: it out.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: But yeah, I definitely.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: So you'll take the clips even from today's.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Yeah exactly, yeah, exactly.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: And what you think, what what's your kind of like
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: average listens per per per episode?
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Would you say, I've been surprised on iTunes, I haven't
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: been able to see it.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: But from what how I pretty much have known is
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: the people that have responded, the people that have emailed.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: That's how I pretty much would know. And then what
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: they do when I send it back to them. They posted,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: and you know a lot of people their audience comes
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: over as well.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: So it's been for me that part. I'm still learning.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I'm still learning how to detect all of it.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: But because that's one of the critical points for you
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: is to know, you know which episode spikes right, you
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: may have you know, I don't know, three hundred listeners
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: three hundred, and then the spikes to let's say six hundred. Good.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: Now you can go back like why what did I
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: do different? What content did I offer? Or what what
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: did we sound different? Did we did we approach this
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: from a different perspective? Was it a topic? Right? So
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: I'm analyzing really your traffic one where it comes from,
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: but also the interest you have to. You have to
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: be able to evaluate that because that may drive you
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: in a certain direction. Right. You may say, well, interviewing
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: business owners, you know, I get on a hundred hundred place.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: I'm not We're probably not going to do this, you know,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: too often. So so just uh yeah, just be mindful
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: of that that it could be, you know, a good,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: good tool to have your arm, to be able to
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: just know more certainly the direction that you want to
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: go into.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Yeah, And I also learned based on people that want
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: to be on the podcast. I've been learning based on
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: emails that I've received or on the person that's spoken
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: or that's why I always ask people to email me
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: which episode that really touched them. That's kind of how
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: I know that way as well. So when they tell me,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: like the conversation with like mister Wilkinson or someone like that,
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: they'll say.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Which episode that it was.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: So that also gives me kind of an idea of
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: what direction I want to go as well, based on
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: the emails that I receive too, because that helps because
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: that's coming from the audience themselves, if that makes sense.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: So yeah, that's that's been the most helpful because I
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: mean hearing from them, I think is the most important
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: of all because then they'll tell you the things you want,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: that you need to work on, the things that you
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: need to do better. So that's the thing that matters
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: the most more than anything.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Okay, I need to ask you. Do you have a
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: YouTube as well presence for the video or is it
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: gonna be just the voice.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I do have a YouTube that i'm starting that I'm
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: putting them up and I noticed on Facebook they've done
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: very well as well.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: So they've done very well on.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Facebook and everything because people are really resonating with it.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: So, yeah, is the podcast that you're done with me,
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: is it going to be on YouTube?
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Okay, so it's gonna be you know, video, okay, cool?
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Yeah, just so I know, yes, And that's why I
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: send it back so you guys can post it on
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: yours as well.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: I was going to ask you that as well. Okay, cool, cool, cool?
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Absolutely all right, Well great speaking with you. Do you
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: want to set up something now or do you want
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: to send me sometimes and.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Then I can send you my calendar or you can
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: just go from there. Awesome, and if anything changes, I'll
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: let you know in advance if anything changes.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Very good, Thank you. Is it asha Usha? Awesome Gray
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: speaking to you.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Thank you YouTube, Okay bye BYEM
