- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, we're so glad you could join us in another edition of the Stuck no More podcast.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Always such an honor to come before you and help you find your voice again.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Maybe you've got your voice locked up because you're in pain or you're like me you've gone through two cancer surgeries.
- 0:20Speaker 1: So I'm so excited for this podcast because today's guest is a woman of great compassion no doubt about that resilience and she has a divine purpose.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Listen to this.
- 0:33Speaker 1: She's a holistic pain therapist, women's wellness and mindset coach and motivational speaker and the heart behind the Emmaus Health and Wellness.
- 0:43Speaker 1: What I'm excited about talking to our guest is about her healing journey.
- 0:48Speaker 1: She devotes so much of her time to help other women be set free.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Powerful blend of science.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Will you please help me welcome my friend Lewis McGregor all the way from Australia.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Girl, good morning Good morning to you.
- 1:03Speaker 2: How are you?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Well morning for me evening for you, I decided to wear a jacket to hide the spot on my shirt.
- 1:10Speaker 1: And, man, it's hot, not in my normal studio.
- 1:16Speaker 1: If you're listening and you just hear the audio, I'm coming to you from my Jesus chair in Atlanta, living with my kids as you come to me, louise, brisbane, australia.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, Brisbane.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Brisbane, that's how you say it.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Brisbane yeah, awesome, just in southeast Queensland in Australia.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Nice.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I love to connect with my Australian friends and they've got some wisdom and some gold.
- 1:42Speaker 1: So I just want to introduce you to Louise first, from a personal perspective.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I was diagnosed, I guess in the beginning of April, end of March, with breast cancer.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I went for a double mastectomy and it was like I'm texting it's nighttime your time and it's morning my time and I'm like, okay, this is what I'm experiencing, help me and man from products to wisdom, let me tell you we have a powerhouse.
- 2:12Speaker 1: So thank you so much.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I got to tell you, louise, you know getting your texts, you definitely understand pain, but you really understand compassion and just speaking with such an anointing that could just you know I'm sure I'm not the only one that you have helped.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So tell us a little bit.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It was a while ago, but tell us a little bit about your journey that you had thanks T.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yes, 10 years ago actually this year this year, routine mammogram you know I would have them regularly and picked up a very small DCIS, which is a ductile carcinoma in situ.
- 2:51Speaker 2: So it was encapsulated, hadn't travelled anywhere, it was only 0.6 of a millimetre, like that's how small it was.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, so I caught very early, thanks be to God.
- 2:59Speaker 2: So just a lumpectomy showed no further cancer.
- 3:03Speaker 2: But a year later I had genetic testing and I tested positive to the bracket 2 gene, which meant that I had an 85 chance I would get cancer again.
- 3:13Speaker 2: So I made my own personal decision to have a bilateral mastectomy and then they reconstructed from my stomach tissue in the one 13 hour operation.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So and that was a great decision for me and I always say that everyone has to make their own operation and that was a great decision for me, and I always say that everyone has to make their own personal decision For me that was the right one because they actually found atypical change in the cells of both breasts, so it hadn't turned into cancer, but it was heading in that direction.
- 3:36Speaker 2: So I made the right choice.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Now, when you went in there for the second time, was that after a routine?
- 3:42Speaker 1: How did they discover it a year later that you had that issue?
- 3:47Speaker 2: So it was just because I had.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And when you get diagnosed with cancer they give you all the options and I didn't have to have chemo or radiation.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I was very fortunate because they couldn't find any more cancer.
- 3:57Speaker 2: So then they give you the options of yearly mammograms, mri I had those and the other option is genetic testing and to be honest, I was told that by my specialist that I was sort of wasting my money.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It's quite an expensive test it's about 1600 Australian dollars and you get no rebate back on that.
- 4:15Speaker 2: But there was just something inside me said get genetic testing done, because then I knew that I had done everything.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I could do Wow.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And so, yeah, it showed up that I did have the BRCA2 gene.
- 4:26Speaker 2: We don't know which side of the family that's from, probably my dad.
- 4:29Speaker 2: He passed away when I was 22.
- 4:31Speaker 2: But he had relatives that had ovarian cancer and other cancers that relate to it, so probably his side.
- 4:38Speaker 1: So I heard I don't know if the statistics is correct but like one out of four women have you heard that will get have breast cancer.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I don't know if that's correct.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I do know Go ahead.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I'm just not sure what the stats, but yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Well, I know one stat I defied with my surgeon.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I went through double mastectomy seemed fine, showing pictures, but I had a hematoma and I was looking at the pictures it was huge and it was split wide open.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So there was quite a process for me to first survive the assault of just getting a double mastectomy and then, almost a month later, going for another surgery and to get rid of the hematoma and to help with the closure.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And the surgeon said I think I told you this, I've never seen a case like this and I'll be honest, I was mad.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I was in the hospital, in that room, ready for the second surgery, and I'm like it's just going to happen again.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You know I was just not happy.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But you know this is when I want to talk to you because you've helped the subject of healing that goes on beyond the diagnosis, beyond the double mastectomy.
- 5:56Speaker 1: What advice would you give someone?
- 5:59Speaker 1: Just of the emotional and spiritual recovery?
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and look, you know, this is those of us who work in this industry, and particularly around breast cancer, and you and I having been down this road and experienced this.
- 6:12Speaker 2: There is a huge gap between diagnosis, treatment, slash surgery and your recovery.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So you know we're most women and I'm one of them and I think you're the same.
- 6:23Speaker 2: You know you go and you have either treatment or surgery or whatever you need to do for your cancer journey.
- 6:30Speaker 2: But once that's done, it's almost like here's three exercises and go enjoy your life.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You know, but there's a massive gap after that to recovery.
- 6:38Speaker 2: And we all know that those of us that have been through this that it's quick, isn't it?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Like you know, there's diagnosis Okay, now you're having this, now you're having this there's his treatment, his surgery, and it's bang, bang, bang and there's no time to process it all because you have to act really, really quickly in that, and then it's often when that's done, all of a sudden you actually have that time to process, and that's sometimes when we can hit a bit of a wall.
- 7:01Speaker 2: So I think the work that I do certainly is around supporting women through that journey and beyond, and this can even happen years later.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I know for myself.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I can have things sometimes where 10 years later, I'll I'll be a want of a better word triggered by something you know, and it'll just the emotion will come back around the enormity of sort of what's happened.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So I think it's great if we can have people around us and create spaces where we can download this information and we can talk about our emotions and what we've been through.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And especially, I think you know, in the case of family, we don't always open up to them because we're trying to hold everything together for everybody around us, so we don't always feel that we have that safe space.
- 7:42Speaker 2: So, yes, certainly that's what I'm trying to provide in my clinic and, well, moving forward online as well.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you said that so well.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It's like you go through the biopsy, they find something.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Then you go to the MRI and they find something.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And then you go to another biopsy and boom, I don't know.
- 8:02Speaker 1: But I was really like I still had dreams of going to Canada with to visit my friends.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So I'm like give me a cancer surgery please.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And I ended up having so much troubles.
- 8:13Speaker 1: But you said it.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Well, it's boom, boom, um.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I I have to say I've only been through one.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I know that you're an expert in this.
- 8:21Speaker 1: So rehab has been good, painful that after that first one.
- 8:27Speaker 1: But I'm scheduled for rehab for the next month or so.
- 8:31Speaker 1: So you also know how to do rehab.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You know the what do you call it?
- 8:36Speaker 1: The massage, the lymph.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Explain that, how, why that's so important?
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so I do lymphatic massage for women as well.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So you know, we have 15 litres of lymphatic fluid in our body and quite often, you know, when we have mastectomy we'll lose lymph nodes and so the drainage is not as good as it once was.
- 8:57Speaker 2: So that's just another service that I offer my clients, that we can, you know, help with that lymphatic drainage, which really helps to move that.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Basically, if we're not clearing that lymphatic fluid and this is even for people who haven't had a mastectomy as well, just have clients who generally get lymphatic massage to help keep the body healthy we need to keep moving that lymphatic fluid through our body just to keep those toxins moving, so it doesn't sit there and sort of stagnate.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I learned that after my first one I could tell I feel like I had another hematoma and a couple of days after it might've just been fluid.
- 9:33Speaker 1: But so let's talk about year.
- 9:36Speaker 1: 10 years away, I'm May 20th away.
- 9:41Speaker 1: How do you, how does this become?
- 9:45Speaker 1: I call it another story.
- 9:48Speaker 1: For God's glory, how can someone find real purpose in the midst of pain?
- 9:53Speaker 1: And I think the only way they can is to hear people who are still finding purpose after the pain and the late nights.
- 10:03Speaker 1: How have you found purpose after the pain?
- 10:08Speaker 2: late nights and how have you found purpose after the pain?
- 10:10Speaker 2: I think T it's whether it's what we've had done with mastectomy and cancer or any kind of you know crisis or health challenge or anything that happens in our life that God can use everything.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You know that nothing's wasted if we ask him to, and I know for me personally I mean, my background was all finance and administration before this happened and it was just as I was being wheeled into surgery and I prayed to God to use cancer.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I said, lord, if we're doing cancer, let's make something amazing out of it.
- 10:37Speaker 2: And I didn't know what he would do with that.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I thought I might get to witness to people in hospital, or which that happened as well or I might heal quickly.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I didn't even need morphine, I just had used paracetamol, and then God's moved me into these other spaces now of another career change and opening my own clinic.
- 10:57Speaker 2: But that is all him, you know and I think this is the thing when we can hand back what's happened to us and ask him to use it.
- 11:04Speaker 2: He's absolutely going to do that, and I know he's doing that with you too.
- 11:07Speaker 2: T, you know the things that you're going through right now.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You and I spoke about raw revelation and the message that you're sending out to people.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I just and I think that's the other thing no matter what's going on in our life, in particular as Christians, but that people are watching, and we should never underestimate how many people are watching our journey and what they're taking on board.
- 11:31Speaker 2: You know and.
- 11:32Speaker 2: I'm quite surprised, even myself, that recently, as you know, I'm about to, I'm looking at closing the clinic because God is moving me on to something else now which is online presence and writing and speaking and coaching.
- 11:45Speaker 2: But, even just the messages that have been flooding in for me since I made that announcement, of people who have been watching my faith, who perhaps not have faith themselves, but that they're acknowledging what they're seeing and the inspiration behind that.
- 11:55Speaker 2: So God can use our tough times to send an amazing message out of his great love and his great care and what he can do in and through us and how we can survive and get through these things.
- 12:07Speaker 2: More than survive, we can thrive beyond what's happening to us.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Um, when we place him at the center of what's going on I love how you know, when we're also in the same mastermind with michelle tufford, of no more dry ground, so I get to see um louise every week.
- 12:23Speaker 1: But you said it, you.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Your faith has provided this purpose and even you've got changes going on even now.
- 12:34Speaker 1: But isn't it amazing that it's not amazing?
- 12:38Speaker 1: It's just God is so faithful.
- 12:40Speaker 1: We, we, we attach our faith to him and some days it's like I'm just holding on for the ride and then there becomes something beautiful out of it, there comes a testimony.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'm amazed really at how many DMs I get of people just struggling with you.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It may not be cancer, but something else, and we get to just.
- 13:03Speaker 1: That doesn't mean we don't have rough days.
- 13:05Speaker 1: It doesn't mean we like, don't feel like there's resistance, but that groundwork and we're both cancer free.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I had similar diagnosis.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm like I was in so much pain at the second one.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I'd like, wait a minute, you don't have cancer.
- 13:22Speaker 1: You have to almost remind yourself in the midst of pain.
- 13:25Speaker 1: So you can really see how your faith has taken you in the last 10 years.
- 13:31Speaker 1: To right up to now is a very pivotal time of closing your clinic, but that's not closing your services.
- 13:39Speaker 1: So what's your heart for going online and making yourself available, whether it's classes or speaking.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I know you're an amazing speaker.
- 13:47Speaker 1: How do you handle that?
- 13:49Speaker 1: What's your plan?
- 13:50Speaker 1: Or do you just kind of like right now it's so new that you're just taking one day at a time?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I literally have fully surrendered all of this to God and I actually don't know what the future is going to bring, but I know that he does and I know I can trust an unknown future to an unknown God.
- 14:05Speaker 2: So the only message that was very clear to me was to not renew my lease where I was, and I trusted in that.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I've held on very tightly to that space and that clinic for many years.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I didn't want to release it.
- 14:17Speaker 2: You know saying that.
- 14:19Speaker 2: You know, just let me take this.
- 14:21Speaker 2: And all of this has been I don't feel I'm leaving something, I'm moving towards something and this is all part of the journey and even as you're speaking just then, T, just like you said, it's not always easy, is it?
- 14:33Speaker 2: You know?
- 14:33Speaker 2: I know there's been times I've wanted to give up with different things.
- 14:36Speaker 2: It's been really, really tough, and I'm so grateful for the beautiful, incredible women that God has placed around me?
- 14:42Speaker 1: who?
- 14:42Speaker 2: have lifted me and supported me, and I think that's so important.
- 14:44Speaker 2: You know who have lifted me and supported me and I think that's so important.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You know to have community around you of like-minded, beautiful Christian women who can lift and support you on the days that it's hard.
- 14:53Speaker 2: But it's through those valleys, as we know, that we learn so much, don't we?
- 14:58Speaker 2: And we grow so much through that time, and that's all part of that journey too, that we can then teach that to other people.
- 15:06Speaker 2: You know we can teach them what God has spoken to us through that, from the leaning in, and I spoke to you the other day about you know just this.
- 15:16Speaker 2: This we're talking now beautiful, no more dry ground group about coming from the overflow yeah, you know and this, that the Holy Spirit lives in us, but that I've just really felt that literally bubbling up of the Holy Spirit coming through his overflow and we want that you know everything guard your heart, so everything flows from it, you know.
- 15:31Speaker 2: So we want him to use that and he does it.
- 15:34Speaker 2: But it does take that continual leaning in, so I'm not sure what the future is going to hold.
- 15:40Speaker 2: But I'm really excited about it because I just know his hand is all over it and for me, going online beyond the the clinic, it helps me to reach more women.
- 15:50Speaker 2: There's a limitation in doing just clinic work, which I also love, but yeah I really feel called to write and speak, and just speak into the lives of other women, you know, and help them, because the thing is a lot of the work that I do too that I've learned through my journey is we all have limiting beliefs and you know we need to renew that mind and just just reframe and refocus to help us step into being all that God placed us here to be.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I love it.
- 16:17Speaker 1: So we're talking community and Louise lives in Australia.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So the beauty of, I think, modern day oxytocin is a Zoom camera or a StreamYard camera and I don't know what I'd be.
- 16:31Speaker 1: That's like my community, that's my family.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I was in the midst of almost finishing up my first season of the StechnoMore Academy.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Louise was a member, a founding member in there and the rock came through the window, the boulder, and it crashed the window down and it was cancer.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And but I remember Louise, god saying walk through it.
- 16:56Speaker 1: And so I walked through it and in my mind I got shreds and glass.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And as I was sharing that with my mental coach, she goes Teresa, do you see that?
- 17:05Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 17:06Speaker 1: I said no.
- 17:07Speaker 1: She says it's a double door.
- 17:15Speaker 1: God's taken that awesome window and made a double door.
- 17:16Speaker 1: So there's purpose in pain and I believe that.
- 17:17Speaker 1: How he's going to show that, I don't know.
- 17:19Speaker 1: But when you said overflow, you know from being in the Second no More Academy that that's where our podcast comes from.
- 17:27Speaker 1: That's my line Create a podcast from the overflow of your relationship with God.
- 17:33Speaker 1: So no one's ever forced to make a podcast.
- 17:37Speaker 1: But what do you see?
- 17:38Speaker 1: Maybe your voice going on a podcast or setting things up.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I do, and certainly I absolutely loved your course too.
- 17:46Speaker 2: T.
- 17:46Speaker 2: It was just an absolute wow moment for me to do that with you and looking forward to continuing that as well.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But yeah, definitely I do feel there's.
- 17:55Speaker 2: You know God places information on my heart.
- 17:58Speaker 2: You know you get these, as we call them.
- 18:00Speaker 2: You know downloads that he gives us each day and I think that it is so important.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Health is not just just physical health, but it's mental health and spiritual health.
- 18:09Speaker 2: You know we need our spiritual health to be well as well.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I often say you can eat all the right foods and get all the right exercise and do all the right things, but if your spiritual health is not well, you're not going to experience, true wellness and so, yeah, my podcast, I think, will be coming from, uh, that space of having wellness on all of those levels.
- 18:32Speaker 2: It's going to be called your Vibrant Full Life.
- 18:34Speaker 2: And I sat with God for four days and asked him what do you want me to call this podcast?
- 18:39Speaker 2: And finally, on the fourth day, he led me to John 1010, which you know is the way to give your life and have it to the full, and so it made me think about you, know to give your life and have it to the full, and so maybe, think about you, know your vibrant, full life.
- 18:49Speaker 2: You know that we want to have this incredible, amazing life in christ and in good health, physically, spiritually, emotionally, feeling really well balanced, so that we can shine up as this beautiful light in the world for others as well that's my Tylenol for me to take my medicine.
- 19:08Speaker 1: You know, the cancer went through the window on the last session.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I had my friend Alana help out.
- 19:17Speaker 1: But listen, I want to help you any way I can.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Louise, what I teach at GPT okay, that's an AI.
- 19:26Speaker 1: We teach how to train it where it sounds like itself.
- 19:29Speaker 1: But in this downtime I've been playing around with the other secret weapon and I'm excited about it, Louise, because I don't want someone like you to take all day with your podcast or someone listening right now.
- 19:42Speaker 1: You know you got a podcast in you and, as I've worked with this one, it's a secret.
- 19:48Speaker 1: You got to join the lease.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Luis knows what it is.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I love the fact that in one place you can shoot your video, get a transcript of your video and, from that one place, send it over to buzzsprout.
- 20:02Speaker 1: And to me, I don't want someone to have to.
- 20:06Speaker 1: It's like another tool.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It'll be a tool in your arsenal, Luis.
- 20:10Speaker 1: It'll be.
- 20:10Speaker 1: You know you're releasing the holistic therapy to holy transformation and it's another tool that you can pull out and have a podcast on top of writing and on top of speaking.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I see God opening stages for you, but I'm almost publicly saying I am so sorry.
- 20:30Speaker 1: It happened on the last session and I joined with Alana, by the way, that last session was amazing.
- 20:37Speaker 1: So you know, we come as we are, whether it's no More Dry Ground or Stuck, no More Academy.
- 20:43Speaker 1: And the beautiful thing is we're not just learning and teaching, we're forming this sisterhood that I've never seen anything like it.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Then, what Michelle Tufford's doing, what Jessica Shakur is doing with the Eden retreat so you may be listening and thinking, hmm, that sounds good.
- 21:01Speaker 1: We want you to be in community, because in community, like I come raw and bare, I mean half the time.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I'm crying at no More Dry Ground the last few times, but it's a safe place.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Right, it is a safe.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I loved.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I saw Louise in no More Dry Ground before I got to get to know her and it's just like peanut butter.
- 21:23Speaker 1: She is so anointed.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I told her in the academy you can say peanut butter and people's lives are going to be touched.
- 21:28Speaker 1: So the anointing that sometimes the anointing comes.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Sometimes your destiny comes from the misery.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I had this picture, Louise.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I love the vineyards, I love the analogy of making wine, but recently, as I was doing a podcast for this coming up Monday, I had this picture of this old wine barrel and there might even be cracks in it, and it's it's oil, but it's old, but it's holding something precious the fermented wine that's already been fermented.
- 22:02Speaker 1: The wine crystals have come to the surface and oftentimes, out of the cracks or even out of the overflow comes a wine, comes a message that's seasoned, Like Louise has a seasoned message because she's been through it.
- 22:21Speaker 1: One of your recent speaking engagements people were blown away.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You weren't allowed to say God, but you still showed up with God.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's life, that's what people are looking for and Louise, I think someone's listening right now.
- 22:34Speaker 1: That just needs to take a step, whether that's finding their voice, sharing their voice, or whether it's hey, I need to join a collective, I need to join a community to be really supported in a holy transformation.
- 22:50Speaker 1: What do you say to that?
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, look, I'm going to address everything that you just said.
- 22:54Speaker 2: And firstly, your Stock, my More Academy.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Okay, t, you make it look so simple.
- 22:59Speaker 2: You really do Like, if anyone's out there who's been thinking of starting a podcast and you think this is just too terrifying and I don't even know where to start, like seriously, get in touch with T.
- 23:10Speaker 2: She is an absolute expert at this and has a lot of years behind her of knowing how to do this and she's just streamlined it down so well that you're going to be blown away by how simple it is really with her method and the way she does it.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Not only that, they're just coming from that faith perspective, t, and the golden nuggets that you give.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I know from the very first meeting that we had on that group which I believe it was a six-week group that we were in the very first week I was just blown away and I remember writing in our no More Dry Ground group.
- 23:43Speaker 2: All I can say is wow, wow, wow, because it was.
- 23:46Speaker 2: It was just Holy Spirit led from the start to the finish and certainly, yes, our no More Dry Ground group.
- 23:55Speaker 2: That has been the best decision that I've made in my business to be honest and certainly from a faith perspective as well, and I started with that at the start of this year.
- 24:05Speaker 2: But I was watching on the sidelines all of last year and just so wanted to be part of that community, and that community led me to you and it's led me to Michelle and Tara and all the beautiful women.
- 24:16Speaker 2: And you know it probably sounds cliche, but this is something that really needs to be experienced to understand.
- 24:24Speaker 2: It is like nothing else that I've been a part of before.
- 24:26Speaker 2: It is an incredibly beautiful community of absolute mastermind women in business, so there's so much information and knowledge.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Michelle is just such an expert at this and the training that she has in that group is phenomenal and I just could not even imagine myself not being part of that and the connections that I've made.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I'm so grateful for technology that I've met you and we've formed this beautiful friendship and so many lovely women in that group who just really not only support you in business but in life.
- 24:56Speaker 2: You know our digging deeper calls that we have on friday, where we put the scriptural verses and even our mastermind calls.
- 25:03Speaker 2: You know it's more to business than just business, especially when you are a christian woman in business.
- 25:09Speaker 2: You know we need that faith support and when the task that the lord has for us is huge, yeah, so is the target on our back, and things are going to be harder.
- 25:19Speaker 2: You know when you're doing the work for the lord, and so you need that group around you.
- 25:23Speaker 2: So yeah I recommend you and your stock memoir academy highly recommend our no more dry ground group and I know that you can put your link up there for that, for anyone who's joining, but come along and try it out.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean honestly you won't be disappointed at all you know, um, part of no more dry ground is they also have retreats, and I don't know if you know this louise, but I was going to go last year and it just didn't work.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And then they had one in february and michelle's like oh, come on, you can, you can come on board.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Well, that was about the time that I had a biopsy and on that and the doctor said you may find out before we do.
- 25:59Speaker 1: And I was at that first night at no more dry ground retreat and my phone did the ding and I looked over and I said cancer and I must've had a.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Michelle had concluded her prayer, she looked at me and she dropped to her knees and all I could say was cancer.
- 26:16Speaker 1: So I had all these ladies rally around me and then they all dispersed and this other lady just sat there and she's kind of looking at me.
- 26:24Speaker 1: She turned out to be an OBGYN.
- 26:25Speaker 1: She looked at the diagnosis.
- 26:28Speaker 1: She basically walked me off the ledge.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Anytime you use cancer and association with yourself, it's a shock.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So she was able to tell me you know just kind of what yours was.
- 26:40Speaker 1: It's contained, so it was.
- 26:42Speaker 1: So look at that, I got.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I mean, I could have been with my cat and got the news, but God surrounded me with sisters that you know.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I got the news about cancer with sisters all around me and that was just a retreat.
- 26:56Speaker 1: So I guess I am saying I don't know why I'm so, we're so on it, except we've experienced it.
- 27:03Speaker 1: You know, there is that such a thing as oxytocin right, and in my marriage I was oxytocin low and what it is is, if you have low oxytocin you have a chance for high blood pressure, weakened immune system and heart disease, not to mention loneliness, depression or anxiety.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And I really believe, because I was fighting for my voice, I didn't get the top three, the high blood pressure, but let me tell you I knew what loneliness was like.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Someone maybe can relate to this.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I was low on oxytocin and I believe, a modern day oxytocin.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I kid you not.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I believe it's in a zoom camera, because it's from a zoom camera that I got my first help from a really bad marriage.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I found a neuropsycho facilitator and weeks after week, spending two hours peeling the onion of the abuse and the psychological through a Zoom camera, and I'll never forget about the third one.
- 28:08Speaker 1: She said T we're going to do life.
- 28:11Speaker 1: And I'm thinking, ah, she's not telling me the truth, because I never did know what it was like to do life and I'm thinking, ah, she's not telling me the truth because I never didn't know what it was like to do life without my husband in her interfering.
- 28:18Speaker 1: And now, going on three years, we do life.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yes, she's away in Canada, but I meet with her.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I wasn't meeting with her every week, now it's every other week.
- 28:26Speaker 1: But zoom camera, zoom calls, not zoom whatsapp.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So I'm saying that for someone who's listening, louise, who who thinks, oh, it can't be possible.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Listen, if you're in a situation, welcome to Atlanta.
- 28:41Speaker 1: If you're in a situation like I was, I hid.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I didn't have the facilitator.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Then it was toward the end of my marriage facilitator.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Then it was toward the end of my marriage.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I learned to have boundaries by going into another room.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But then he sold our house so we stayed in this little camper he wanted to build on land out in the middle of nowhere.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Talk about oxytocin low and then he eventually um had cancer and died four months after that.
- 29:14Speaker 1: But still, there's boundaries you can do, there's boundaries you can make.
- 29:21Speaker 1: But if you've got to hide out in the closet to join, it's like no more academy or no more dry ground.
- 29:28Speaker 1: We were talking to you.
- 29:31Speaker 1: There is help for you, dear friend.
- 29:33Speaker 1: There is help Someone.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Louise, I want you, by the Spirit, just speak to someone who needs your words, your voice, in this area of oxytocin and community.
- 29:45Speaker 2: And I think too, just you talking about even where you were when you got the diagnosis just straightaway.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Think of the beautiful verse that two are better than one.
- 29:54Speaker 2: When one falls down, the other can lift the other up, and this is where community and people around you and when I say community, even family is so, so important and God's timing is always perfect about where he placed you to receive that, that news.
- 30:07Speaker 2: But as you were speaking, I was just thinking so much about and I know we've chatted about this about sometimes how hard it is, when you're so used to doing everything on your own, to allow people in to help you, and difficult, I know, for you.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Right now you're allowing your children to step in and help you, and that can be really hard when you're used to being so, so independent.
- 30:28Speaker 2: But also as mums, you know we don't want to feel like we're putting that on family members or spouses or whoever, but I think that it's really important, through this journey, to allow those who love you to to love on you and allow them to do that, because you know what, through cancer, sometimes that's the only thing they can do.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Wow.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Family members often feel so helpless and don't know what to do, so just let them do what they can and let them do what makes them feel good to help you and love on you and support you.
- 30:58Speaker 2: And that can take some vulnerability, you know, to allow those walls down, um, but I think it's really important for your healing and also for them to to feel like there's a real restoration process because in my marriage my kids stayed away.
- 31:16Speaker 1: They, they stayed away from their dad so and they didn't really know me in the last few years.
- 31:21Speaker 1: So it's been so good just to let them love on me, nurse me.
- 31:24Speaker 1: My daughter, anna, is in the practice of dermatology so she's constantly let me see your wounds, let me see your wounds.
- 31:32Speaker 1: It was, it was Anna and her owner of the practice that realized my hematoma was quacked wide open.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I mean, I the chance of?
- 31:44Speaker 1: I mean I just praise God I didn't get infected.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I had to do some really painful things and then the wound specialist like, oh, we got got to put you through surgery, but to have my daughter and then now to have my son.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Like I said to him the other day, I'm going to go for a walk.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Do you want me to come with you, mama?
- 32:02Speaker 1: I said no, I think I'm all right.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'm living in a cramped apartment, we're going to move.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But just to see my son say, mom, he works in the morning, don't do anything until I come home because you have to go down by flights just to get your laundry done.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I said, okay, I won't do anything.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I mean that is incredible to have your kids come back to you and then just such care and restoration.
- 32:26Speaker 2: And so T, you know we can look at.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Even though the hematoma was a horrible felt like a setback.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Probably, if you hadn't had the hematoma, maybe this situation you're in now with your children may not have happened either.
- 32:39Speaker 2: And this is all part of God's plan for this journey for you is this beautiful healing with you and your family, and bringing you all closer together and I think you know if we can get to a point, with whatever's happening in our life whether it be cancer or whatever's going on where we can say I'm grateful for what's happened because of what God has done with it.
- 33:00Speaker 2: You know if you can get to that point.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I know people have.
- 33:02Speaker 2: I've had clients who haven't necessarily been believers, who have said to me well, if God exists, why does he allow these things to occur?
- 33:10Speaker 2: And the truth is we don't know why he allows these things to happen.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Only he knows why.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I know that his heart breaks just as much for us in this situation as ours is.
- 33:22Speaker 2: And I think about Lazarus.
- 33:23Speaker 2: You know who was his dear friend and the shorter, one of the shortest verses in the bible is that Jesus.
- 33:28Speaker 2: You know he knew that Lazarus was going to be risen from the dead a few days.
- 33:33Speaker 2: He knew that so he could have gone.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Look, what are you worrying about?
- 33:35Speaker 2: Like he's going to be risen again in a few days, but he wept with the family.
- 33:39Speaker 2: He was in there in that sorrow, feeling that with them in that moment.
- 33:43Speaker 2: And you know when people say why does he allow this to happen?
- 33:45Speaker 2: Well, why did he allow his only son to die such a horrible death?
- 33:49Speaker 2: Because the goods come from it.
- 33:50Speaker 2: So, if we can look at the things, have that eternal perspective on life here, where we're not in this world, where we are, we are in this world but we're not of this world and we're looking from eternity.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Um then, this life is such a short, brief moment.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I know we had a pastor once who said that eternity is like this great, big, long white rope that you can't see either end of, and this life is one, like a tiny little piece of red cotton somewhere in that.
- 34:15Speaker 2: So if we can keep that perspective and that god will use everything and he's doing that with you even the hematoma will heal yes, in the process of that, there's this incredible, beautiful, amazing relationship being reborn with you and your children yeah, you're allowing them to love on you and take care of you, which is filling their soul as well, and they're watching how, how amazingly, you are coping with what's going on and and your faith journey through this.
- 34:41Speaker 2: They will be impacted by that and and that's the thing we want our life to be a reflection of him amen to see him long before they see us.
- 34:50Speaker 2: You know that's the whole reason that we're here.
- 34:53Speaker 2: So yeah, it's.
- 34:54Speaker 2: I think it's beautiful what's happening for you and and just incredible.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I know, if you asked me 11 years ago, if you'd told me 11 years ago, if you'd told me 11 years ago that I'd be on a podcast with this incredible woman running a clinic and helping people with pain and all the things coaching women in mindset and all that.
- 35:11Speaker 2: That's so awesome.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Honestly, I would have just laughed at your face.
- 35:14Speaker 2: It was nowhere on my radar.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I can tell you that right now.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I was working in finance at a Christian school.
- 35:20Speaker 2: I had other plans, that's so good timing.
- 35:24Speaker 2: so, and you know, we do a lot of work, as you know too, around the mindset, around how we think it's so important, um, you know and god speaks a lot about this, you know that neuroplasticity and just renewing our thoughts, um, and so my biggest advice to anyone is, you know, when you're facing tough times, just really focus on the conversations that you're having with yourself, and if they're negative, you know they're not of him, the negative conversations.
- 35:47Speaker 2: So try to reframe and try to keep renewing your mind.
- 35:50Speaker 2: It's going to have an incredible impact on your recovery and your life in general, and how people are watching how you cope with what's going on.
- 35:59Speaker 1: So much power in the mind.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I'll end it with this.
- 36:01Speaker 1: You know you can say why, God, but I remember my husband wouldn't let me have a mammogram.
- 36:07Speaker 1: So I had a mammogram and they called me back for a diagnostic and I remember in the parking lot thinking hmm, this could be something.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And I remember saying I'm not scared.
- 36:19Speaker 1: And then I went from another mammogram to a ultrasound and someone canceled.
- 36:27Speaker 1: So I got to go right there on the biopsy table and, as I laid out there in the you know cute little gown and I'm lying on the bed and waiting for the doctor to do a biopsy, I remember the Holy Spirit just saying real quietly T how about another story for my glory?
- 36:45Speaker 1: And at first I'm like I got a story, I don't need another one.
- 36:48Speaker 1: But the minute I said yes, Lord, another story for your glory, Then that was the foundation.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Going through every stage, even to the hematoma, I said yes, and sometimes the saying of yes unlocks identity, it unlocks purpose, but it was a yes to the Holy Spirit.
- 37:10Speaker 1: So your first yes through this podcast episode might be something you heard from Louise and you need to say yes to it, Something you maybe heard from me.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Could that be a foundation to experience things and find purpose in the healing, and the agony finds your destiny.
- 37:30Speaker 1: So I'd encourage you to listen and say yes, Louise.
- 37:34Speaker 1: How can people get in touch with you?
- 37:36Speaker 1: What's the best way?
- 37:38Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 37:38Speaker 2: So you can look at my website, which is wwwemmaushealthandwellnesscomau.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Emmaus, like the bible story e-m-m-a-u-s, or by email at info at emmaushealthandwellnesscomau, if you're in Australia you can contact me on 0419-651-087.
- 38:00Speaker 1: And I'll put that in the show notes so you can check the show notes of this Wow Girl peanut butter.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I just believe God is just going to be opening those doors.
- 38:11Speaker 1: You closed something that was very dear to your heart, louise, and I think that was your yes to a future and growing in your identity.
- 38:21Speaker 1: You know your voice is the unique expression of your identity, your values and your experiences, which you can impact thousands.
- 38:30Speaker 1: So, whether it's your podcast or your books, or you're speaking on stage, I see a lot of hearts being touched, louise, and we're so honored to have you on the Stuck no More podcast.

- 38:41Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Thank you so much, t, and you know, as in all of this, all the glory and honor goes to God and we both just want people to see him.
- 38:49Speaker 2: We're here to shine that face of Jesus and his incredible love that is available for all of us.
- 38:54Speaker 2: It's not unique to you and me.
- 38:56Speaker 2: This is available for everybody and certainly what we feel is there for everyone to feel.
- 39:01Speaker 2: You just got to lean in and just welcome them in.
- 39:04Speaker 2: So thank you so much for having me.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I'm so grateful to have been here and I'm so grateful to have met you, t.
- 39:09Speaker 2: It's been an absolute blessing for me and I look forward to the future for both of us and what God's going to do.
