- 0:03From the unexplained to the mundane, come join
- 0:06us on a Journey to the Fringe. Hello and welcome
- 0:13to Journey to the Fringe, where I like to think
- 0:16we embody the whimsiness that is Newfoundland
- 0:19in this, but also not. I don't think we've ever
- 0:22talked about Newfoundland prior to this last
- 0:25Fringe video. No, nor are we anything like people
- 0:27from Newfoundland, I think. But we are all Canadian.
- 0:30We are all Canadian, at least as far as I understand
- 0:33it. Yeah, exactly. You can't quite understand
- 0:35the Newfoundland accent. You really can't quite.
- 0:38You just kind of have to agree because they say
- 0:39it quite nicely. You just nod and smile. We are
- 0:42your Canadian English speaking host, Taylor and
- 0:45Chelsea. Here today, Chelsea, I just want to
- 0:48give a preamble to our topic. Okay, what's the
- 0:50preamble? We have covered, I believe, two different
- 0:53time travelers in our journeys as a podcast.
- 0:57The first one being John Teeter. Of course. Very
- 1:00famous time traveler. The other one's the man
- 1:02from Torrid. Right. Yeah, I forgot about the
- 1:05Torrid guy. I can't remember if it was his own
- 1:07episode, but we did do him, so I had to include
- 1:10him. Is this going to be about mantis beings?
- 1:13That time travel? No. Damn it. What? I decided
- 1:16is I felt like you know, we kind of give a representation
- 1:18that this doesn't happen very often We've only
- 1:20done those two topics. So it must not be that
- 1:23much claimed So I went around and I grabbed as
- 1:26many man claiming to be from X Came back to our
- 1:30time and has this to say stories. I like that
- 1:33So today we'll be looking at the lesser known
- 1:36of the time travelers. Okay I'm ready. I was
- 1:41not expecting this. I'm glad I showed up today
- 1:44Yeah, me too. It's really awkward when I have
- 1:46to talk to myself. Some of our most memorable
- 1:50episodes. I do also have to say that there is
- 1:53a really interesting one out there on TikTok.
- 1:55There's just no way I could. do medium for talking
- 1:59to people doesn't really give me a great way
- 2:01to show TikToks off but it's a guy who does videos
- 2:05where I believe he says he's in the year 2050
- 2:07in France and like there's nobody there and he
- 2:10goes around and like shows things but for whatever
- 2:13people ask. Really? I'm gonna have to, no I hate
- 2:16TikTok. Oh that reminds me we've done time slips
- 2:19too because you said France. Oh right we have
- 2:21done time slips but those generally go back in
- 2:23time. Yeah they go back in time. Whereas these
- 2:26guys are coming back to us, maybe they're time
- 2:28slippers. That's true. Okay, Chelsea, our first
- 2:30story comes from The Daily Mail. In fact, our
- 2:33first two stories come from The Daily Mail. The
- 2:35Daily Mail? Written by Jane Lavender on July
- 2:3818th, 2026, article title, Time Traveler from
- 2:412045 makes chilling predictions and passes lie
- 2:45detector. A man claiming to be a time traveler
- 2:48from 2045 delivered a series of alarming predictions
- 2:51about what lies ahead while connected to a lie
- 2:53detector and reportedly passed with flying colors.
- 3:04Adam Archon claimed to have journeyed back to
- 3:072023 from two decades in the future and had issued
- 3:10several spine -tingling warnings about the coming
- 3:13years. What makes these forecasts particularly
- 3:15unsettling is that the self -described time traveler
- 3:18delivers them while wired to a polygraph machine,
- 3:21a device that monitors heart rate to identify
- 3:23deception. The predictions, which surfaced on
- 3:25YouTube via ApexTV grabbed the attention of doubters
- 3:28as the man seemed to be speaking truthfully throughout.
- 3:31Some of these alleged prophecies will arrive
- 3:34as soon as 2028. How did this all come to be?
- 3:36I wonder where not only is she reporting on this,
- 3:39but he's giving predictions under lie detector.
- 3:43It seems that like it was just a YouTube video
- 3:45she's reporting on. but that's okay because it's
- 3:49news exactly like daily mail is i shouldn't use
- 3:52the term news with them but it is news technically
- 3:55i mean we're reporting on her reporting on it
- 3:58so it all works out on her reporting yeah and
- 4:02i love that he didn't set the bar like too high
- 4:05it was just like 20 years out yeah you wait from
- 4:08yeah i actually think i went in shortest to longest
- 4:12order with this one like i just think it would
- 4:14make the predictions a little bit easier Because
- 4:16you're not so far out that they have to be like
- 4:19cars are gonna be flying around and they're just
- 4:22but also will Disproveable in your lifetime.
- 4:24That's true, which is like the hard thing for
- 4:27faking Yeah, you might have to talk about it
- 4:30eventually time travel and predicting the end
- 4:32of the world You want it to be like way out by
- 4:34the time you're gone. Like it won't even matter
- 4:37to you personally. I only want to come up with
- 4:40one lie if I'm faking time traveling. I don't
- 4:42want to have to come up with more lies later
- 4:44on. Yeah, once the time comes I don't want to
- 4:46be lying some more like I just want one good
- 4:48lie and then be done with it, right? Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:51Now among his claims was that everyone will be
- 4:53microchipped like pets by 2045. Quote, yes, I
- 4:57do have an implanted chip in my hand known as
- 5:00the one. You see when a chip is put into your
- 5:03hand like it was in my case or any part of the
- 5:06body, which in other cases can be, since it is
- 5:09a foreign object. My body was slightly rejecting
- 5:11it, so my hand was getting swollen. Luckily,
- 5:14as you can see now, the swollen has completely
- 5:16gone down and everything is back to basically
- 5:18normal. That's how you know he's not lying. He
- 5:22has a normal hand. The chip concept might not
- 5:25seem too far -fetched, especially considering
- 5:27Elon Musk's ambitious brain chip project called
- 5:29Neuralink. The tech titan has bold plans to enable
- 5:32rapid surgical implantations of its chip technology
- 5:35to address conditions including obesity, autism,
- 5:38depression, and schizophrenia. Reports suggest
- 5:40human trials are underway, though completion
- 5:43is expected to take roughly six years. The self
- 5:45-proclaimed time traveler further suggested that
- 5:47technological breakthroughs like these will result
- 5:50in humans merging with robots. Holograms and
- 5:53other time travelers like himself zipping through
- 5:55time in modern UFOs. The whole scenario has a
- 5:58distinctly Dr. Who vibe, yet the lie detector
- 6:01indicated truthfulness. The self -described Time
- 6:03Warper also passed the polygraph when asserting
- 6:06that extraterrestrials will establish first contact
- 6:08in 2028, though supposedly not from outer space.
- 6:12He stated, quote, It is true that aliens did
- 6:15land on Earth in August of 2028. In fact, we
- 6:18have known of the existence of aliens before
- 6:212028. but it isn't until 2028 that it becomes
- 6:25public knowledge. It was just kept secret until
- 6:28they released it publicly. But this all just
- 6:30seems so vague, like he could definitely elaborate
- 6:32on this more, like I could say that too. You
- 6:35can, but he at least gives a very specific month.
- 6:39of August 2028. If it was that big of a deal,
- 6:43I feel like you'd know the actual date. Yeah.
- 6:45He didn't even say about the black market that
- 6:48the humans were doing under the guise of aliens.
- 6:51Yeah. He did go on to also say, quote, I can't
- 6:54confirm that aliens do not come from space, but
- 6:57I cannot elaborate on where they come from because
- 7:00of the possibility of a paradox, end quote. Oh
- 7:04my God. I knew it. Stephen Greer was right. I
- 7:08can't wait till he comes out as a time traveler.
- 7:12He's gotta be something from another universe
- 7:15because look at him. I bet that's why he doesn't
- 7:19get into the reptilian stuff because he's immediately
- 7:23going to be the first one. According to Adam,
- 7:30the era of individual nations will supposedly
- 7:32draw to a close with countries set to, quote,
- 7:35converge into one super nation, end quote. The
- 7:38lie detector registered truth as the man whose
- 7:40face was obscured in the video described how
- 7:42every country would operate under uniform laws
- 7:45and currencies divided into seven distinct zones.
- 7:49Well, if there's seven zones within the country,
- 7:51how is it one country? Oh, they're all distinctly
- 7:54different. He further explained that artificial
- 7:58intelligence would largely drive decision -making
- 8:00for this new world government, with citizens
- 8:02paying for goods using hand -implanted chips.
- 8:05Which, oh man, much like a contactless card,
- 8:08he stated, quote, There is AI that governs the
- 8:10entire world and 10 people that monitor its decisions.
- 8:14The 10 people mainly monitor the AI programming
- 8:16and check its morality to see if its decisions
- 8:18are best suited for the people. There is a single
- 8:21currency and a form transaction with it. All
- 8:24you have to do is use the chip that is implanted
- 8:27in your hand. There is no cash." End quote. Did
- 8:30he say if you can choose where the chip is implanted?
- 8:33I think he did. Yeah, he did say that. I think
- 8:35I'd go with somewhere funner. I kind of would
- 8:38want it in like your foot so you can like kind
- 8:39of karate kick at it yeah I mean it would yeah
- 8:44You bring up a good point. But I also feel like
- 8:47as you get older, you would start to regret that
- 8:50unless you tapped it on the ground, of course,
- 8:53as you lose mobility. Because I feel like it's
- 8:56already in my hand with my phone when I tap.
- 8:59Like where's the fun in that? Maybe elbow? I
- 9:02don't know. I could see a rise in hand -related
- 9:05theft, if that makes sense. Yeah, it does make
- 9:08sense. Like you lose your hand, you lose all
- 9:10your money and identity. I think he has one more
- 9:21prediction as well here. Zoos, it seems, will
- 9:24still be a feature of the future, but with a
- 9:27jaw -dropping twist, as visitors will reportedly
- 9:30be able to come face to face with long extinct
- 9:32creatures. Under the watchful eye of a polygraph,
- 9:35Adam Bolder claimed that the people will be able
- 9:38to view real -life dinosaurs in captivity, an
- 9:41idea that, as movie fans will know, hasn't exactly
- 9:44gone smoothly on the big screen. Quote, we have
- 9:46dinosaur zoos in the future. You can see T -Rexes,
- 9:49Triceratops, Velociraptors. If they existed,
- 9:53you can see it. People can go and visit things
- 9:55in the past, like to go visit the dinosaurs or
- 9:58major world events. They go in something that
- 10:00you would probably think of as a modern -day
- 10:03UFO, end quote. Lots of UFOs. The claim bore
- 10:07a striking resemblance to plot points from Jurassic
- 10:10Park film series. Blockbusters depicting, does
- 10:13it really? Because these guys went into the past
- 10:16to get the dinosaur DNA. Well, they'd have to,
- 10:19to get the DNA. No, because in Jurassic Park
- 10:22it's from the mosquitoes that were caught in
- 10:24amber. Yeah. I guess he couldn't come up with
- 10:27another way and he didn't want it to just be
- 10:29just like Jurassic Park so he said no he he clearly
- 10:32was just dead and he's a time traveler so point
- 10:36I like the way he's thinking though unfortunately
- 10:42the footage failed to win over many viewers with
- 10:44numerous commenters expressing skepticism about
- 10:47the interviews credibility one said quote If
- 10:50the guy's insane and believes his lies, then
- 10:52the lie detector won't detect that he's lying."
- 10:55Another added, quote, I want a lie detector for
- 10:57the lie detector. Simply saying it's true without
- 11:00providing any data is no different than a human
- 11:02giving the same results. End quote. And the third
- 11:05noted, quote, did anybody else notice that he
- 11:07answered yes to every question? That seems unlikely.
- 11:11End quote end of article. The last one brings
- 11:14up a good point And in defense of the lie detector
- 11:19tests, I mean they're not they're not infallible
- 11:23Exactly. But yeah, it's also when you do a lie
- 11:25detector test Don't they usually ask you a question
- 11:27that they know is a lie so that they can get
- 11:29a baseline for your lie Doesn't sound like it
- 11:33or it doesn't sound like that's what happened
- 11:35here but i didn't go out of my way to watch it
- 11:38so i was just gonna say i'd have to watch the
- 11:40video i'm not actually even sure if she did either
- 11:42she definitely went to the comments and how come
- 11:45he was only answering yes we're like is there
- 11:48a chip in the hand in the future and he was like
- 11:51yes are there only dinosaur zoos in the future
- 11:55yes how exactly did this interview i have so
- 12:00many questions This next one also comes from
- 12:05the Daily Mail. It was written by Stacy Liberatore,
- 12:09published on July 1st of 2026. For some reason,
- 12:12I didn't put the article title, but I don't think
- 12:14it's necessary because we all know what it's
- 12:15going to be about. We're going to read it. Well,
- 12:17I hope it didn't steer you wrong that you didn't
- 12:19put it in there. And it's not an article about
- 12:21time travel at all. A self -proclaimed tribe
- 12:24traveler has come forward with an extraordinary
- 12:26claim that he journeyed to the year 2118 and
- 12:29returned with a chilling vision of humanity's
- 12:31future. The man who identified himself Alexander
- 12:34Smith appeared in a gray suit and black tie wearing
- 12:37a strange latex -like mask with an oversized
- 12:39nose and a bald head as he warned the world as
- 12:43we know it will change a lot. I would hope that
- 12:46the world changes a lot in a hundred years. Among
- 12:51his predictions were claims that artificial intelligence
- 12:53would one day rule the planet, and that a small
- 12:56conflict between the US and North Korea would
- 12:58spiral into a global war after Russia sided with
- 13:01Pyongyang and missiles were eventually launched,
- 13:03resulting in what some might describe as a third
- 13:06world war. Smith also alleged the CIA possesses
- 13:10advanced technology that remains hidden from
- 13:12the public, including what he described as a
- 13:14secret time machine. According to his account,
- 13:17agency officials told him he would become the
- 13:19first test subject in an experiment designed
- 13:22to push the boundaries of space and time itself.
- 13:24He further claimed that government routinely
- 13:27develops technology decades before they become
- 13:29publicly available telling viewers quote the
- 13:31technologies that you are using right now like
- 13:34smartphones they were developed around 30 years
- 13:36prior to them actually being released. Smith
- 13:39insisted that the public deserves to know the
- 13:41truth about what is happening behind closed doors
- 13:43claiming the next century will bring more change
- 13:45than any other period in human history. The interview
- 13:48released on the YouTube channel Apex TV. We apparently
- 13:51need to start watching Apex TV. Was first published
- 13:55in 2018 but has recently resurfaced online where
- 13:57viewers have once again been captivated by his
- 14:00extraordinary claims. As a self -proclaimed chai
- 14:03-chattler who identified himself as Alexander
- 14:05Smith, he'd claimed to have journeyed to the
- 14:07year 2118. He has provided no evidence to support
- 14:10his extraordinary claims. Smith has provided
- 14:12no evidence to support his extraordinary claims
- 14:14and there is no proof they have a double sentence
- 14:17there. Okay. and there's no proof that he worked
- 14:19for the CIA, traveled through time, or visited
- 14:22the year 2118. According to Smith, his story
- 14:24began in 1981 when he had already left the CIA
- 14:27and was working as a local carpenter. He claimed
- 14:30his life, took an extraordinary turn while he
- 14:32was sitting on the couch watching television
- 14:34with his wife, when there was a knock at the
- 14:36door. When he answered, Smith said he found two
- 14:39men dressed in black suits standing outside who
- 14:41told him to come with them because they worked
- 14:43for the CIA. Quote, they told me to go with them.
- 14:46So I complied." He said, adding that he was not
- 14:49even allowed to tell his wife where he was going.
- 14:51According to Smith, he was driven away blindfolded
- 14:54and eventually taken by a helicopter to a secret
- 14:56underground military base where he was told that
- 14:59he had been chosen to participate in a classified
- 15:01experiment. There, a scientist allegedly showed
- 15:04him what he described as a time machine and informed
- 15:07him that he was going to be the first test subject.
- 15:10Smith claimed that humanity's future would be
- 15:12shaped by a devastating conflict that begins
- 15:14as a relatively minor dispute. In his first video,
- 15:17as released in 2018, Smith aimed to make himself
- 15:20known as the CIA was allegedly hunting him after
- 15:23he returned from the future. According to his
- 15:25account, the country I was part of, the United
- 15:27States, was in a conflict with North Korea and
- 15:29the conflict started off small. He said the confrontation
- 15:32eventually escalated after Russia soon took the
- 15:34side of North Korea and tensions began to escalate
- 15:37and eventually missiles were fired. While he
- 15:38did not specify where the missiles struck, Smith
- 15:41warned that the effects were not what one may
- 15:45consider desirable. He added that the conflict
- 15:47was what some might describe as a third world
- 15:50war. claiming the devastation ultimately led
- 15:52to a dramatically different future in which the
- 15:54world began to become one and borders began to
- 15:57become meaningless. Smith alleged that the people
- 15:59in the future developed a love and appreciation
- 16:01for life that discouraged them from harming one
- 16:03another. When he asked who the president was
- 16:05in 2118, Smith said he was told there was only
- 16:07one leader of this one world. According to his
- 16:10account, that leader was an artificial intelligence
- 16:12that he claimed governed humanity better than
- 16:14any person could by mutating peace, safety, technological
- 16:18advancement, and all the other great things that
- 16:20could benefit our lives as humans. Smith claimed
- 16:22the futuristic metropolis featured slanted skyscapers
- 16:25with a bluish tint, flying vehicles moving between
- 16:28buildings and a red sky hanging above the city.
- 16:31Smith said that he was initially skeptical that
- 16:33a machine could lead the world. Wait, that's
- 16:36the part you don't believe? Yeah. A machine took
- 16:39you 100 years in the future, but you don't believe
- 16:41they can tell us what to do? They literally do
- 16:44that now, not well. But they do. But claimed
- 16:49people in the future insisted that artificial
- 16:51intelligence was better suited for governing
- 16:53humans than human politicians. Which I think
- 16:56is already at that standard. That is correct.
- 16:59Sadly. He also described encountering human -like
- 17:03robots that floated above the ground and possessed
- 17:04the same rights as people. According to Smith,
- 17:07there was no discerning the robots from ordinary
- 17:09humans except that they had no legs and hovered
- 17:12several feet in the air. What an interesting
- 17:15concept. Not the floating, that they had the
- 17:18same rights as people. I'm sure it's the Great
- 17:20Robot Wars where that comes from. Oh, most definitely.
- 17:23I like that they're imperceptibly different from
- 17:25humans other than floating seven feet in the
- 17:27air without legs. Other than that, you could
- 17:29never tell them apart. Smith claimed that time
- 17:32travel technology existed decades before the
- 17:35public knew about it and predicted it would become
- 17:37available beginning in the year 2028 for both
- 17:40commercial and non -commercial uses. He further
- 17:42alleges that 2028 is also the same year in which
- 17:44the government disclosed the existence of intelligent
- 17:46extraterrestrials. Oh, so he agrees with the
- 17:49other guy. Claiming authorities have possessed
- 17:51knowledge of aliens for some time previous to
- 17:53the announcement. One of the most bizarre details
- 17:55involved with Smith described as an implant beneath
- 17:58the skin of a robot's hand. He claimed the device
- 18:01acted as an all -in -one form of identification
- 18:03and payment, telling him quote, this is everything
- 18:06because it could be used to make purchases, verify
- 18:09identities and conduct transactions, end quote.
- 18:12The other guy was a robot. In his first video,
- 18:17also released in 2018, Smith aimed to make himself
- 18:20known as the CIA was allegedly hunting him down
- 18:23after he returned from the future. During the
- 18:25clip, he held up a photograph of a mysterious
- 18:28city skyline, though he never revealed exactly
- 18:30where the image had been taken. The blurry picture
- 18:33appeared to show a row of enormous green, oddly
- 18:36shaped buildings in a city unlike any that exists
- 18:39today. Quote, I have something to show you today.
- 18:41This picture was taken in the year 2118. This
- 18:44picture was the city I walked in. end quote he
- 18:47said while holding the image up to the camera
- 18:48quote I'll never forget when I look at that picture
- 18:51I was right outside the city before I had walked
- 18:53into it end quote Smith claimed that I have that
- 18:57about pretty much every picture that I've taken
- 19:00I'm like I'll never forget that I was because
- 19:02I was there and I just kept walking and I saw
- 19:05what was in this picture Smith claimed the futuristic
- 19:10metropolis featured slanted skyscraper wow this
- 19:13is a very poorly edited article because they
- 19:16keep repeating themselves. No, they just want
- 19:18to prove the point. There were slanted skyscapers.
- 19:21They're probably selling them in the future.
- 19:23Probably. Yeah, this article was written by big
- 19:26skyscraper business back in the year 2118. And
- 19:31then again, they say he said the photograph was
- 19:33taken shortly after arriving in the year 2118
- 19:36and before entering the mysterious metropolis,
- 19:38which he referred to as District 508. Quote,
- 19:41that was a picture from the future, which I was
- 19:43able to take back. There was only a minor amount
- 19:46of distortion on it that was caused by the time
- 19:49traveling process. Of course. Classic time traveler.
- 19:54The government confiscated the original photo,
- 19:56but before they took it from me, I did manage
- 19:58to take the copy I held before you. I don't know
- 20:02if that means that he already had a copy of it
- 20:05or he took a picture of the picture while they
- 20:07were taking it away. It's so easy for us to have
- 20:10photos like immediately with us now on our phone,
- 20:14but this guy, he has like a printed out picture
- 20:17that was confiscated, but he has a new. Didn't
- 20:20he say he did this in the 80s though? I don't
- 20:23know. I can't really keep track of how this guy's
- 20:27story went other than that it weirdly lines up
- 20:29in some ways with the other time traveler. Makes
- 20:31me wonder if they're not working together. But
- 20:34if everybody in charge is AI, wouldn't that make
- 20:38it like okay to have an AI generated image of
- 20:42slanted skyscrapers? Yeah, couldn't you just
- 20:44ask the AI to generate it? This is how photos
- 20:47look in the future, our supreme overlord AI just
- 20:51generate all these things where we once walked
- 20:53and that's like what we remember because we were
- 20:56there. You gotta love how he phrased that. I
- 21:00know this is where I took it because I took the
- 21:03picture and then I walked. Exactly. We all think
- 21:06that about photos. Such a fond memory. I just
- 21:09quickly googled this YouTube channel. It's quite
- 21:13interesting. I do quite like that the first story
- 21:16that we heard, they're both on Apex TV, which
- 21:19I think implies that the first guy was aware
- 21:21of the second guy's story because he was aware
- 21:24of Apex TV. Yes. Okay, is there enough there
- 21:27Chelsea for an apex TV episode in the future
- 21:29I believe there is yes I mean there's lots here
- 21:33they categorized even well that's one is time
- 21:36travelers one's mystery here's time travel right
- 21:39there anyhow we got no time for this because
- 21:41we got another guy And I need to see if this
- 21:44came from Apex TV too. Five dinosaurs caught
- 21:47on camera. Sorry. What more Apex TV? I was actually,
- 21:52I'm not sure if this is Apex TV. We're going
- 21:54to have to read. I just need to find my source
- 21:56for this one. Oh, this comes from IFL science.
- 21:59Oh, I like that one. The story of Mike the Time
- 22:03Traveler from the year 3700. Maybe the stupidest
- 22:06thing we've seen in months. Every now and then
- 22:11someone on the internet claims to be a time traveler
- 22:14or else have spotted telltale signs on time travelers
- 22:16for example in iPhone and old videos and paintings.
- 22:20They usually turn out to be plausible alternative
- 22:22explanations which don't require humanity to
- 22:24have figured out backwards time travel at some
- 22:26point in our future nor the traversal of a wormhole.
- 22:28That doesn't stop the claims of time traveling
- 22:30from coming though. In particularly stupid example
- 22:33highlighted by the Daily Mail recently we can
- 22:36add the tale of Mike the time traveler to the
- 22:38list. Mike! A man blurred out it does come from
- 22:41Apex TV. Like a man blurred out an extensive
- 22:45interview with Apex TV makes a number of strange
- 22:48and impossible to test claims. According to the
- 22:50man... who claims to be on the run from fellow
- 22:52time travelers. He became involved in several
- 22:56secret projects at Canada's National Security
- 22:58Agency, which included a number of military gadgets
- 23:01and, why not, a time machine. Mike, who cannot
- 23:04be trusted, further than you yourself can step
- 23:06back in time, claims that the group would hop
- 23:09at random through time, eventually reaching all
- 23:13the way to the year 3700 CE. You might think
- 23:16humanity has its problem solved, And it does.
- 23:19But according to Mike, things will get a lot
- 23:21worse. Quote, since year 3000, humanity was entirely
- 23:24replaced by robots, artificial intelligence,
- 23:27and software. End quote. The man said in the
- 23:29video. It was really heading that way though,
- 23:30wasn't it? Yeah. Adding to the brights. Wait,
- 23:33those robots that we give rights to, they take
- 23:36us over? Yeah. Yeah, they had so many rates from
- 23:43the robot war and we look just like them exactly
- 23:46was about the hovering and no It was definitely
- 23:49the hovering fuck Adding on the bright side that
- 23:54humanity had finally switched to using solar
- 23:56energy rather than fossil fuels He claims that
- 24:01humanity's population has been reduced to around
- 24:033 billion people who are nevertheless free to
- 24:05follow their own creative pursuits while sharing
- 24:08the planet with around 1 million robots but 700
- 24:11years later and in accordance with science fiction
- 24:13rules everything went a bit Skynet quote in the
- 24:16year 3700 the war began the war between human
- 24:19race and artificial creators the robots the robots
- 24:22who had an artificial intelligence once they
- 24:24understood their power they understood their
- 24:26dominance above humans and raised above them
- 24:29End quote. According to Mike, humanity did not
- 24:32fare well in this war and took to hiding from
- 24:35the now estimated four million robots in forests
- 24:37and caves. The robots, however, were willing
- 24:39to burn down the forest in their effort to destroy
- 24:41all organic life. What? That escalated really
- 24:47fast. We're better than them. Better eliminate
- 24:50all life. yeah in the way of evidence he showed
- 24:53the interviewer a hand taken from a fox robot
- 24:57which he claimed to have personally killed as
- 24:59well as fox robot he wanted the chip he did he
- 25:04called it he wanted to buy a slurpee with that
- 25:06fox robot's hand that's what the hand is oh my
- 25:10god i had no idea there's such a linear story
- 25:16There's only one logical way to go if you're
- 25:19time traveling from the future. That's really
- 25:21good advice. I think you're not going to hear
- 25:23from anywhere else. But if you are time traveling
- 25:25to the future, you got to cut a hand off. I was
- 25:27just going to say kill someone steal. No, don't
- 25:30kill them. Just don't kill them. Just take their
- 25:31hand. You don't want a liver. Don't put them
- 25:33in a bathtub. Take the liver. You want to date
- 25:36them and take their hand now if you're in the
- 25:38future. Don't do it in the past. Like that's
- 25:40not going to do anything for you. No, it's looking
- 25:44that way if especially if it's a robot you want
- 25:47that hand And a newspaper as well as Fox robots
- 25:51which were non -human like in appearance He claimed
- 25:53to have met a humanoid robot which appeared to
- 25:55have developed a fear of death quote people showed
- 25:57me a humanoid robot He had hair skin eyes and
- 26:01artificial blood which flowed in its cable veins
- 26:04end quote He said of the robot which does not
- 26:06exist Quote, as a human, he was scared. He didn't
- 26:13want to die. He knew what his death and was in
- 26:17depression. End quote. As with all these tales,
- 26:19not much was offered in the way of proof beyond
- 26:21a nice little robot arm prop and a few excuses
- 26:24as to why he is explaining this to a time travel
- 26:26obsessed YouTube channel rather than the international
- 26:29press. Quote, I stole this robotic hand, ran
- 26:31away from laboratory from Canada and from continent.
- 26:35End quote. He said, quote, I know that they want
- 26:37to kill me as I'm the only person who ran away
- 26:40from their company and the only person that wants
- 26:42to tell the truth. End quote. We probably don't
- 26:45need to tell you this is all nonsense though
- 26:48given, you know, shut up, end of article. Do
- 26:50you think in the future on the slanted skyscrapers,
- 26:53it's just Apex TV ads for if you time travel
- 26:57back, like this is who you gotta talk to. You
- 27:00know what? It seems like maybe it's the only
- 27:02media source. Nobody's talked about that. It
- 27:05might be but it doesn't seem like there's any
- 27:08recent uploads here. Okay, this one's seven months
- 27:11ago. Okay one month ago. Yep. They're still going
- 27:14Chelsea, of course, no episode where the potential
- 27:17exists is complete without checking Reddit for
- 27:21anything relating to the topic. Oh, this is gonna
- 27:23be better than Apex TV, I bet you. I don't know,
- 27:26though. First off, there is a subreddit called
- 27:28Time Travel. There's actually multiples kind
- 27:30of in this category. I follow Time Travel, so
- 27:32this is the one I like to use. I'm pretty sure
- 27:34I'm in that as well. And there are multiple stories.
- 27:37I just picked one and another one that we're
- 27:39gonna go through the AMA for. This one is titled,
- 27:42it's from six months ago, so it's from... the
- 27:44early 2026 written by extension underscore u
- 27:48underscore 4635 i'm a time traveler from the
- 27:51year 2264 an actual one and you do need to specify
- 27:55that in time travel because many people just
- 27:58make those stories okay Hi Reddit, let me start
- 28:01by saying that I know this is going to sound
- 28:02insane, but regardless of that, I'm here to share
- 28:05my story. I know most of you won't believe me,
- 28:07and I'm not here to convince anyone. You're all
- 28:09free to trust whatever you want, my intentions
- 28:11here, and in every other timeline I visit, have
- 28:14nothing to do with convincing. I know I'm repeating
- 28:16myself, but I want to get it off my chest before
- 28:19starting, because I've done this quite a lot,
- 28:21and I'm already well aware of the backlash. I
- 28:23don't blame you though. Doubting is a significant
- 28:25part of human nature. Don't know why he's quoting,
- 28:28but there's a quote, quote, if something sounds
- 28:30unreal or you haven't witnessed it with your
- 28:32own eyes, you don't believe it. End quote. Simple
- 28:35as that. That's not true. And believe it or not.
- 28:37Yeah, that's the entire point of religion. Yeah,
- 28:40I was going to say there's so much that we do
- 28:42believe that. Yeah, and believe it or not I like
- 28:45this idea and I've even Say that the sense of
- 28:48doubt is an actual privilege that our species
- 28:50have enough mere talk though It's time for what
- 28:53I've came here to do as I said, I don't expect
- 28:55you to believe me outright So I'm going to lay
- 28:57out my experience and let you decide for yourself
- 28:59for starters I want to say that I'm probably
- 29:01what you call historian time traveler there's
- 29:04a difference between historian time travel and
- 29:06all the other types there's at least 75 different
- 29:09types of time travelers yeah that's what i hear
- 29:11and you know what there is actually like if you're
- 29:13looking at it like there would be the tourist
- 29:15time traveler ah okay see i just thought it was
- 29:20silly but this is logical Okay. Though we use
- 29:23a different term in my time, and yes, it's an
- 29:25actual job in the future. You might or might
- 29:27not have stumbled upon other reddit posts like
- 29:30mine, where the authors also introduce themselves
- 29:32as workers of the same job. Whether or not they're
- 29:34legitimate, I have no way to tell, as we're all
- 29:37from different timelines that sometime, pretty
- 29:40rarely in most cases, because believe it or not,
- 29:42the multiverse is really darn big, share the
- 29:44same pattern of events and things in common.
- 29:46So what do we do in our job, you might ask? Well,
- 29:48it's pretty simple and pretty complex at the
- 29:50same time. Simplified, we're tasked with exploring
- 29:53and the studying of the different time periods
- 29:55of our world. We've went as far back as the time
- 29:59before the Big Bang, and by the 23rd century,
- 30:01we've already explored nearly 35 % of the entire
- 30:04time as you know it. None of this makes fucking
- 30:07sense, sorry. They're looking at all different
- 30:09possibilities, which would be like, you can't
- 30:11do that. You would never. Like it's infinite.
- 30:14I know, I was just gonna say she's studying this,
- 30:16yet she also said. They've gotten 35 % of infinity.
- 30:19this version of a timeline that wouldn't exist
- 30:23like it would only exist once yeah okay we've
- 30:27explored nearly 35 percent of the entire time
- 30:30as you have not From before the Big Bang to my
- 30:33present. We are forbidden to go to the future
- 30:35because of numerous reasons I won't touch on.
- 30:37But it's not like there hasn't been people who've
- 30:40tried. Now for my time. In my timeline, humanity
- 30:43has advanced far beyond what you can imagine.
- 30:45We've colonized Mars and several moons of Jupiter
- 30:47and Saturn. But Earth is still the hub of civilization.
- 30:50There is clean, the oceans are pristine, the
- 30:52biodiversity is thriving again. We've successfully
- 30:56managed to bring back about 20 extinct species.
- 30:58We are quickly destroying all of that. No, no
- 31:02isn't necessarily because he clearly said in
- 31:04his timeline Plus I assume the robots get us
- 31:10back on track. I'm waiting to see what he says
- 31:12about the robots What are they're at in like
- 31:14the fall of the robot? I keep interrupting They've
- 31:18managed to bring back 20 extinct species of animals
- 31:20including mammoths Tasmanian tigers and even
- 31:23dodo birds course mammoths. They're all being
- 31:25held in special zoos around the world. This wasn't
- 31:29because we finally got our act together though,
- 31:30it was because we had no choice. The climate
- 31:32change you're grappling with, it reached catastrophic
- 31:34levels in the 22nd century, forcing humanity
- 31:37into a corner. The solutions our leaders came
- 31:40up with involved massive geoengineering projects,
- 31:43global cooperation, and AI systems that made
- 31:45decisions for us when we couldn't agree. When
- 31:48you can't agree, does it just get to do whatever
- 31:50it wants? It worked, but at a cost. Technology
- 31:57in 2264 is seamless. Artificial intelligence
- 32:01isn't just a tool, but a collaborator. Everyone
- 32:03is augmented in some way. Neural interfaces,
- 32:06biological enhancements, you name it. We've transcended
- 32:09disease, aging, and even death to a degree. Our
- 32:12consciousness can be transferred into a synthetic
- 32:14body or even entirely digital environments. Time
- 32:17travel is rare as most people project themselves
- 32:20into virtual spaces to interact or explore. The
- 32:23actual time travel however is another beast entirely.
- 32:26Time travel was developed in the early 23rd century
- 32:29and it's heavily regulated. The idea is not to
- 32:32interfere but to observe and learn. My current
- 32:34mission is simple. Gather data on the 21st century
- 32:37which is a pivotal era for humanity. Being in
- 32:39your time is disorienting to say the least. This
- 32:42is my second mission since I got the job. The
- 32:45first one was to 2103 where I felt way more in
- 32:48my waters despite the harsh conditions of that
- 32:50time period. Here are some thoughts I've gathered
- 32:52so far from your society. Your technology feels
- 32:54rudimentary. Your social issues are frustratingly
- 32:57persistent at your pace of life, and your pace
- 33:00of life is really, really slow. You're on the
- 33:02cusp of breakthroughs that will define your future,
- 33:05but you're also so distracted by trivialities.
- 33:08It's fascinating and infuriating at the same
- 33:10time. I have so much more to tell you about the
- 33:12future, but I'll just let you ask whatever you're
- 33:14interested in. So don't hold back. I can't prove
- 33:16I'm from the future, at least not in ways you
- 33:19would find credible. Since my equipment is inert
- 33:21without access to the power source, What it can
- 33:25share is knowledge. I know how some of your challenges
- 33:28will resolve, though I have to be careful with
- 33:30the information I give because of timeline change
- 33:33risks that are forbidden by contracts in my time
- 33:36that are probably in the thousands. Paradoxes
- 33:39are a real concern and the last thing I want
- 33:40to do is trigger one. So no, I won't give you
- 33:42any lottery numbers or Super Bowl results. So
- 33:44Reddit, I'm here. If you have any questions about
- 33:46the future or want any advice on navigating your
- 33:49present, I'll do my best to answer and a proper
- 33:51for the topic way of course. Now let the skepticism
- 33:53begin. Let's explore a few of his answers. I'm
- 33:56more compelled by this one than the other ones.
- 33:59It seems more thought out. It does, definitely.
- 34:04The first question was, why has a time traveler
- 34:06from 2264 been posting about the walking dead
- 34:09on Reddit for the past couple of years? They
- 34:14didn't even use a throwaway? Yeah, they didn't
- 34:17answer that question. That's a great question.
- 34:22The next one is, do you expect us to read this
- 34:24shit with no space between paragraphs? And the
- 34:27answer to that is this must be the grammar style
- 34:29of 2264. You know what, I don't think he answered
- 34:33a single question. Oh no, here we go. Okay, yeah,
- 34:37I was gonna say it's because they're not asking
- 34:39the questions he wants to answer. Tell me about
- 34:41John Teeter. Oh, they answered that? Yeah. John
- 34:45Titor comes up a lot, actually. In my time, he
- 34:47isn't treated as a confirmed person so much as
- 34:50a case study. In other timelines I visit, he's
- 34:53seen as a mix of early internet mythmaking combined
- 34:55with the fears people already had back then.
- 34:58The future he talks about doesn't line up with
- 35:00mine, though that alone doesn't mean much. Timelines
- 35:03diverge easily. I'll just say that if he was
- 35:06an actual time traveler, he was extremely careless
- 35:08by our standards. And then, ooh, how was race
- 35:12Oh! Jeez! Oh my god. So it would still exist
- 35:44if everybody didn't look the same. Yeah, I don't
- 35:46think it would go away. That would just make
- 35:47people focus on my new details. Yeah, that's
- 35:50exactly what I was thinking. Well, that appears
- 35:53to be all he answered. But I did find one too.
- 35:56I'm just gonna go over this one because I quite
- 35:57liked the last one we're gonna do guys This is
- 36:01a reddit post from eight years ago. So this is
- 36:04a fun one posted by 2072 time That's the reddit
- 36:07user and it says i'm an american time traveler
- 36:10from 2072 ask me anything And this is actually,
- 36:13sorry, this is on AMA. This is not on time travel.
- 36:16Oh, I love that. I like that it's not on time
- 36:18travel. First post is the year of Donald Trump's
- 36:21death, year of Putin death, year of Nicolas Maduro
- 36:23death. Answer. Donald Trump dies on March 13th,
- 36:282025. One of his final public appearances is
- 36:31at a rally in support of a Republican running
- 36:33for governor of Virginia. Vladimir Putin dies
- 36:36June 6th, 2025. His death was the center of various
- 36:40conspiracy theories and a lot of people think
- 36:42that radical liberals assassinated him, though
- 36:44with the government list his death as a result
- 36:45of natural causes. Maduro dies October 1st, 2038.
- 36:49He spent his final years while residing in Mexico
- 36:52due to being banished from Venezuela. He was
- 36:54removed from office by a movement of rebels.
- 36:57I mean, I guess you can call the Americans rebels.
- 37:01Oh, look at this. Who wins at UFC 223, Khabib
- 37:04or Tony? Khabib Nurmagomedov wins UFC 223. I'm
- 37:10not going to lie. I had to look it up on my com
- 37:13because I never really followed UFC. The time
- 37:16traveler said that? Yeah. And then he's asked
- 37:18what the Bitcoin price is, please. Bitcoin is
- 37:21rare, so I assume that it's worth a lot. Stockpiled
- 37:23if possible. The most popular digital currency
- 37:25today is called the international and digital
- 37:27money thing. IDMT. I know it's not a spectacular
- 37:31name, I'm just ashamed with humanity in 2072
- 37:34as you are. I love that he is doing an ask me
- 37:38anything, but all of this stuff is just like,
- 37:41how would you know? but that's far enough and
- 37:47Chelsea like I said it's a wonderful array of
- 37:50stories out there of people claiming to be time
- 37:52travelers we're never gonna run out of them as
- 37:55long as there are people there will be people
- 37:57claiming crazy things which include going in
- 37:59time and who knows maybe one of them did I don't
- 38:01know I did if you do you just happen Stan it's
- 38:05like I hope we provided you with sufficient information
- 38:08we don't know what the police are like in that
- 38:10time they are probably pretty good so be careful
- 38:13but like get that hand man Yeah, that was super
- 38:18fun. I quite enjoyed that. And it's it's fun
- 38:22to think about what the world looks like so far.
- 38:25And we're curious. I think that's what makes
- 38:28these so fun to listen to, because people are
- 38:31curious. I'm curious about what the world looks
- 38:34like in the future. And I could have come from
- 38:38the future. You know what? I would love to do
- 38:40a case study. I can't. I don't know how I would.
- 38:43But like How much of Time Traveler claims are
- 38:46surrounded with the zeitgeist of the present
- 38:49going on around it? These articles all came out
- 38:51in the last eight years. And even the guy who
- 38:55was more than like the eight years ago wasn't
- 38:57really focusing on AI, whereas everybody else
- 38:59really sure they post talked about AI. I actually
- 39:02did have that thought as well. But like if you
- 39:05went through like You could go with decades of
- 39:08people claiming to be time travelers and I wonder
- 39:09if there's like different things that people
- 39:11in the 90s claiming to be time travelers would
- 39:14say that are very relevant to that time that
- 39:16not so much now. as opposed to like right now
- 39:19they're talking about AI and bitcoins. It's kind
- 39:21of like watching sci -fi for your time, right?
- 39:24Of what they think the future looks like, like
- 39:26flying cars and like the Jetsons as like horrible
- 39:30of an example that is, but it's kind of similar,
- 39:32isn't it? It's someone's vision essentially of
- 39:35what the future looks like and that's me assuming
- 39:39that they're not real, but perhaps they are real
- 39:42and that's the real whimsy in it. Think but you
- 39:45look at stuff like that. That's what they thought
- 39:47the world would look like in the future. No flying
- 39:49cars yet yet. Yeah The thing I'm most disappointed
- 39:53from with us not reaching the Jetsons is George
- 39:56only works two hours a week And we are nowhere
- 39:58near that. And I do not have a bad nanny robot.
- 40:03Like, I don't think robots look like that. Sassy
- 40:04nanny robot. Yeah. I think she was sassy, right?
- 40:07I can't really remember. Oh yeah, she was sassy.
- 40:10And I just feel like a robot that I would have
- 40:13as a nanny would be floating ten feet off the
- 40:16ground and you couldn't decipher them from a
- 40:18human. I like that one. It just seems like something
- 40:21that shouldn't traumatize children. Does it though?
- 40:28anyhow I don't know it was fun I like it I'm
- 40:32gonna keep my mind open and think that there
- 40:35could be time travelers cuz why not and I'm gonna
- 40:37keep my mind open and maybe do an episode on
- 40:40apex TV in the near future that sounds like fun
- 40:42yeah it does sound like fun remember that time
- 40:45that they said i had a picture and i was like
- 40:49i knew it was a picture because i was because
- 40:51i took the picture and then i walked forward
- 40:54i wonder two thoughts one i wonder what the status
- 40:57on starcrete is if they're actually using blood
- 41:00and tears or if they did actually just go with
- 41:03potato number two oh no i said that one and i
- 41:07lost the other one oh and by the way i thought
- 41:10of this part way through the episode so i do
- 41:11need to add it here at the end while chelsea
- 41:13thinks of her next point We did do another time
- 41:16traveler, and that is the beautiful Andrew Boziago.
- 41:20Oh, the most important president. I wonder his
- 41:23status. That would have been good for an AMA
- 41:25question. Yeah, but he was from our time. He
- 41:29traveled out of it, right? But still a time traveler
- 41:32He would be considered one in my books. Anyway,
- 41:36anyhow, my thoughts not coming back. So that's
- 41:39okay We're at a good spot to end it then I have
- 41:41been Taylor here with Chelsea. We are drained
