- 0:12Speaker 1: It's hell and welcome to the naughty but nicer. I'm
- 0:16Speaker 1: your host, Rub Shooter, and it's Thursday, which means our
- 0:20Speaker 1: dear friend Mark Looper joins us. Hey, Loopy, are you there?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Loopy Luis?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Hello, Hey Lubi. It's fall. It's cold in New York City.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I woke up this morning. I actually put I'm gonna
- 0:31Speaker 1: have to put a robe on or something. It's quite
- 0:33Speaker 1: chili in New York. I like the fall. I can
- 0:35Speaker 1: pull out all my sweaters, all my jumpers, and wear
- 0:38Speaker 1: some gloves and some hats. How are you, Marker? You
- 0:41Speaker 1: a fall guy or you were more of summer chap.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I love all the seasons on Europe, but I do.
- 0:46Speaker 2: The thing with follow is that you wake up it's cold,
- 0:48Speaker 2: then the little guy you're sweating, and then you're cold again.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Quite had to dress for it, but I will figure
- 0:56Speaker 1: it out. Let's jump into ashow. What time is it?
- 0:57Speaker 1: My friends? It is tea time story at the top
- 1:00Speaker 1: of the show. So Wendy Williams. Wendy Williams, who we've
- 1:03Speaker 1: not spoken to scene in months, even years, dare I say,
- 1:08Speaker 1: is now revealing that it is about time for Diddy
- 1:11Speaker 1: to face justice. So Before we get into what Wendy says,
- 1:16Speaker 1: let me give you some background here, some inside information.
- 1:20Speaker 1: At first, I did not believe her reporter from the
- 1:24Speaker 1: Daily Mail spoke to Wendy. I just couldn't imagine how
- 1:28Speaker 1: that was possible. Then I found out through my reporter
- 1:31Speaker 1: friends that is actually legit. He just called her cell
- 1:35Speaker 1: phone and she happened to answer. And now I'm told
- 1:39Speaker 1: her conservator and people around Wendy are furious that they
- 1:44Speaker 1: managed to get to Wendy. They're trying to isolate her.
- 1:47Speaker 1: They would argue for her own good, they don't want
- 1:50Speaker 1: her talking to the press. But a lot of reporters
- 1:53Speaker 1: do have celebrities phone numbers, and when something happens, you
- 1:58Speaker 1: call them for comment. Now you were meant to go
- 2:01Speaker 1: through their reps. Let's be honest here. The correct protocol
- 2:05Speaker 1: is to call their reps, their managers, their agents. But occasionally,
- 2:08Speaker 1: if they don't have the above, or if the above
- 2:11Speaker 1: are just too difficult or lazy to deal with, then
- 2:14Speaker 1: you can call them themselves. And I think it depends
- 2:16Speaker 1: on the celebrity. Would I have the hutspur to call
- 2:19Speaker 1: Julia Roberts directly on her phone? Maybe not, But I
- 2:22Speaker 1: certainly would call Bethany Frank call. In fact, she's probably
- 2:25Speaker 1: calling me. So the housewives a fair game. So somebody
- 2:27Speaker 1: like Wendy. She's not a Julia, but she's certainly not
- 2:30Speaker 1: a housewife. She's a TV Oh, she's a Sherry Shepherd type.
- 2:34Speaker 1: She would not like that comparison, but she's a Sherry
- 2:37Speaker 1: Sherry Ricky Lake, may I even say a Hoder Let's
- 2:41Speaker 1: be really generous here, and Andy Cohen type. I would
- 2:44Speaker 1: call Andy. I'd feel fine calling Hoder. So the reporter
- 2:47Speaker 1: called Wendy. She answered the phone and he started to
- 2:51Speaker 1: talk about Diddy, and she said, it's about time. And
- 2:55Speaker 1: a lot of people have been saying to Wendy that
- 2:58Speaker 1: you called it Wendy a long time ago. Wendy was
- 3:01Speaker 1: the first one, back in nineteen ninety eight. She was
- 3:05Speaker 1: the first one to start raising a red flag about Diddy.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Some of the things she had heard. She was part
- 3:12Speaker 1: of his community. She knew stuff. Let's remember she was
- 3:16Speaker 1: fired from Hot ninety seven radio station that was very
- 3:21Speaker 1: instrumental in Diddy's life, his professional career, his artists. Wendy
- 3:26Speaker 1: knew Diddy was a bad man. She knew it years ago.
- 3:30Speaker 1: A lot of people did. Wendy was the only one
- 3:32Speaker 1: that said, we think a couple of things, Mark, do
- 3:34Speaker 1: you think now Wendy has been vindicated? And another are
- 3:39Speaker 1: you surprised that a reporter got to speak to Wendy?
- 3:43Speaker 1: You know?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, So I do think Wendy's been vindicated in a
- 3:46Speaker 2: lot of ways because she has been telling a story,
- 3:48Speaker 2: like you said, since the nineties, and a lot of
- 3:51Speaker 2: us knew who had worked at the show, which I
- 3:53Speaker 2: had worked at the Wendy Williams Show for many years.
- 3:55Speaker 2: We all knew the story, and we knew the sensitivities
- 3:57Speaker 2: around Diddy and that there were some feelings there. I
- 4:00Speaker 2: will say, you know, I've called people directly, you know,
- 4:03Speaker 2: I called Mega Markle's dad. That's when he gave me
- 4:04Speaker 2: a really great scoop once they announced they were living
- 4:07Speaker 2: the Royal family. He just boarded things out. I think
- 4:10Speaker 2: with this situation with Wendy, you know, she has dementia,
- 4:13Speaker 2: she has a spechia. It's not I don't think it's
- 4:16Speaker 2: cool to call someone who's, you know, in a situation
- 4:18Speaker 2: where they or not maybe in the right state of mind,
- 4:20Speaker 2: and then exploit them for stories. However, you know it
- 4:23Speaker 2: makes me wonder where is Wendy then, because at the
- 4:26Speaker 2: time she was kind of locked away in that conservatorship.
- 4:29Speaker 2: No one could reach her, no one had her phone number,
- 4:31Speaker 2: she could only call people. So I wonder if she
- 4:34Speaker 2: may be somewhere now safe with her family and she
- 4:36Speaker 2: has a phone number that's working. But it's either way.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It's nice to hear that Wendy, you know, feels as
- 4:42Speaker 2: though people finally have heard her.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I like it and believe it.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I like that Wendy's aware of this. When
- 4:49Speaker 1: the supporter spoke to her, she was aware of what
- 4:51Speaker 1: was going on with did he? When I saw Wendy
- 4:53Speaker 1: last over a year ago, she wasn't that aware of
- 4:55Speaker 1: what was going on in the pop culture lose, which
- 4:58Speaker 1: is what she loved. That made me a litle bit concerned.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So I love that Wendy is up to speed on this.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I love that she's been vindicated. Like you, I'm not
- 5:06Speaker 1: sure that I'm comfortable that he called, and not because
- 5:09Speaker 1: she's a celebrity, but because she's had mental health issues.
- 5:13Speaker 1: She has dementia. It's not fair to talk to somebody
- 5:17Speaker 1: and put them on the spot and then quote them
- 5:19Speaker 1: in a national outlet if no one's sort of protecting them.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I am told though, that the reporter at the Daily
- 5:24Speaker 1: Bail is a good guy, and there's lots of other
- 5:27Speaker 1: stuff on the conversation that they won't print. That there
- 5:30Speaker 1: was stuff there where she clearly got confused, where she
- 5:33Speaker 1: wasn't really sure that she was being interviewed, and they're
- 5:36Speaker 1: not going to use that. So there is some honor
- 5:39Speaker 1: there too. But it is really a complicated, complicated situation.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be a celebrity to be somebody
- 5:47Speaker 1: that is in this predicament. We've all got family members
- 5:51Speaker 1: who need some help. Is it fair to have conversations
- 5:55Speaker 1: with them about their lives or what's going on when
- 5:58Speaker 1: you know they are struggling with mental health with dementia?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Fascinating big picture conversation to have here. I would tread
- 6:08Speaker 1: lightly on this one, I really really would. There's a
- 6:10Speaker 1: few of the housewives who are not in the situation
- 6:13Speaker 1: that Wendy's in, but however, they have had some mental
- 6:17Speaker 1: health troubles. I'm very careful when I interviewed them. When
- 6:20Speaker 1: I speak to them, and I'm very very careful, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: say at least twice, are you sure you want me
- 6:25Speaker 1: to report this is this off the record, I give
- 6:28Speaker 1: them every benefit of the doubt, but after they will
- 6:33Speaker 1: say yes, they like the attention. I also too, because
- 6:36Speaker 1: I've known Wendy a long time as well as Mark.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I also feel as if Wendy enjoys being back in
- 6:41Speaker 1: the game a little bit. I can imagine Wendy going
- 6:45Speaker 1: on her computer and seeing her name again and a picture,
- 6:49Speaker 1: and we're not talking about her dementia or her losing
- 6:52Speaker 1: her job. We're talking about what Wendy loves to talk about,
- 6:55Speaker 1: which is Diddy, which is Whitney, which is the Real Housewives.
- 6:58Speaker 1: So part of me has a little bit of joy here,
- 7:01Speaker 1: Mark thinking Wendy's going to feel like, Oh, I'm back
- 7:04Speaker 1: in the game. They still want to talk to me. Mark.
- 7:06Speaker 1: The press still thinks I'm relevant.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, liston, I think of anything A lot of
- 7:12Speaker 2: us feel. I wish Wendy was still on TV because
- 7:14Speaker 2: me too. Whenever a big news story happens, right, what
- 7:17Speaker 2: would Wendy Williams say about this?
- 7:19Speaker 1: That's exactly right. She doesn't like no one else does
- 7:21Speaker 1: nobody else. I've never seen anything like it. We've both
- 7:24Speaker 1: done this for a really long time. When there's a disaster,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and natural disaster, I go to see it. Then when
- 7:29Speaker 1: there's a celebrity disaster, I get to Wendy Williams and
- 7:31Speaker 1: she's always right. Wendy Williams in the National Enquirer. They
- 7:35Speaker 1: are always right, and they might be ahead of their time.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Nobody believed Wendy. This was twenty years ago. She was
- 7:42Speaker 1: talking about Diddy and Wendy got fired for it. Wendy
- 7:46Speaker 1: actually lost her job, She got fired from the radio station.
- 7:50Speaker 1: They owe her an apology. A lot of people are
- 7:53Speaker 1: Wendy an apology, which brings us to our poole question
- 7:55Speaker 1: of the day. Wendy Williams is saying it's about time
- 7:58Speaker 1: that Diddy faces justice. Our question is quite simple, is
- 8:03Speaker 1: Wendy vindicated? Has Wendy Williams been vindicated? Here? A lot
- 8:08Speaker 1: of people were uncomfortable with what Wendy has had to say.
- 8:11Speaker 1: A lot of people dismissed her as crazy. Oh I'm silly. No,
- 8:16Speaker 1: Wendy was right all along. Hay go vote on our
- 8:20Speaker 1: Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob at Facebook pages Naughty Gossip,
- 8:24Speaker 1: and be sure to check back tomorrow to hear your results.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Hey Loopy, what are you working on.
- 8:31Speaker 2: All right, So Elton John is joking about his health struggles,
- 8:34Speaker 2: and he says, there's not much of me left me too, Alton, okay? So,
- 8:40Speaker 2: Elton John has faced numerous health challenges over the years,
- 8:43Speaker 2: but his sense of humor and gratitude remain intact. While
- 8:46Speaker 2: giving a speech at a screen for his documentary Elton
- 8:49Speaker 2: John Never Too Late, he said, to be honest with you,
- 8:52Speaker 2: there's just not much of me left. He's been on
- 8:55Speaker 2: to share a list of the organs he no longer has.
- 8:58Speaker 2: He said, I don't have tonsils, adenoids, or appendix. I
- 9:02Speaker 2: don't have a prostate. I don't have a right hip
- 9:04Speaker 2: or a left knee or a right knee. In fact,
- 9:07Speaker 2: the only thing left to me is my left hip.
- 9:10Speaker 2: But I'm still here.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I'd love you to be this honest. Yeah, I love Elton.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Let's be honest. Let's all be honest here. Elton has
- 9:20Speaker 1: some health issues. He's really struggling. I've read the reports.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I've got some reporting myself that Elton now is in
- 9:27Speaker 1: a tricky position in his life and we just are
- 9:30Speaker 1: wishing the best here. However, in true Elton fashion, he's
- 9:36Speaker 1: going to have the last laugh. Here's the one that's
- 9:38Speaker 1: going to talk about this. So all the reports about
- 9:41Speaker 1: Elton's health that are out there, they're all true. He's
- 9:44Speaker 1: must have seen their mark and so now he's speaking
- 9:48Speaker 1: out saying they're not wrong. There's a lot of me
- 9:51Speaker 1: that is no longer here, by me, by prosta, by this,
- 9:55Speaker 1: by that, by Ton souls. I just love Elton and
- 9:59Speaker 1: I like to that, unlike so many celebrities, performers his age,
- 10:05Speaker 1: he can retire with some dignity, with some grace. He
- 10:08Speaker 1: wants to spend time with his husband David, with his
- 10:11Speaker 1: two sons, Zachary and Elijah. I love Hodes them. This
- 10:16Speaker 1: hod has stepped away from the best job in television
- 10:18Speaker 1: to spend time with her kids. I'd argue Elton paved
- 10:21Speaker 1: the way. He stepped away from the best job in
- 10:24Speaker 1: the world, because he's still sold tickets. He might not
- 10:26Speaker 1: have put on a show quite as good as he
- 10:28Speaker 1: did twenty years ago. Neither does Madonna, Neither does anybody
- 10:32Speaker 1: after the age of sixty seventy eighty. You know who
- 10:35Speaker 1: you are, but maybe share, maybe just share, Maybe shares
- 10:38Speaker 1: the exception, maybe share. But I like that he can
- 10:41Speaker 1: step away. My experience in show business, Mark and with singers,
- 10:45Speaker 1: with celebrities, is this is all they've got. They don't
- 10:48Speaker 1: really have a private life. They don't really have a partner,
- 10:51Speaker 1: they don't really have a family, they don't really have friends.
- 10:54Speaker 1: All they have is performing. I think it was Frank
- 10:57Speaker 1: Sinatra that said he wanted to die on step that's
- 11:00Speaker 1: where he was the most happy. That makes me sad.
- 11:04Speaker 2: It's me sad too. And I think at some point
- 11:06Speaker 2: in your life you probably think to yourself, well, what
- 11:08Speaker 2: am I doing others for?
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:10Speaker 2: What am I doing all this for?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Who?
- 11:11Speaker 2: And so I think for him? For Elton here has
- 11:13Speaker 2: two young kids, he has a husband, he's said an
- 11:16Speaker 2: amazing waye. But at this point, you know, you can
- 11:18Speaker 2: still do a few shows here and there in you know,
- 11:20Speaker 2: a brief residency, but you know, sit down and enjoy
- 11:23Speaker 2: your life.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Dad, enjoy all that money, enjoy that power, and enjoy
- 11:26Speaker 1: that fan. I wouldn't even do a few shows. I'd
- 11:28Speaker 1: do a few numbers. I'd turn out some big benefit
- 11:31Speaker 1: and sing one song then leave me alone. I don't
- 11:33Speaker 1: want to work that hard, Elton, We love you, okay.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Moving along, Amy Roback has moved in with TJ. So
- 11:39Speaker 1: I think a lot of people thought that when these
- 11:41Speaker 1: two blew up their marriages their careers, that they were
- 11:44Speaker 1: going to get married immediately, that there were a couple.
- 11:46Speaker 1: They've been given separately. They've never actually lived together, and
- 11:50Speaker 1: so now they have moved in together because of a problem,
- 11:53Speaker 1: not because they wanted to. Amy's apartment has been overrun
- 11:57Speaker 1: by cockroaches, so she needed to get out of her apartment.
- 12:00Speaker 1: She's renting this really fabulous place now. TJ is just
- 12:04Speaker 1: down the street. But they did not get a place together.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Now she's moved in, and she said, I am a
- 12:09Speaker 1: bit joy in the time. But it's a little different
- 12:13Speaker 1: difference never a good word. I'm told they have very
- 12:17Speaker 1: different lifestyles. TJ likes to stay up till three in
- 12:21Speaker 1: the morning. Amy's in bed by nine point thirty ten.
- 12:24Speaker 1: They just may be not quite as compatible as what
- 12:28Speaker 1: they might think. They are a couple of things, Mark,
- 12:30Speaker 1: are you shocked? But they never live together? And do
- 12:34Speaker 1: you think this is going to be a big test?
- 12:37Speaker 2: So I'm not shocked because I do listen to their podcast.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I am a fan, and I'm just very curious about
- 12:42Speaker 2: those two. And you know what's funny is they seem
- 12:44Speaker 2: to not be the best fit. They just they pray
- 12:48Speaker 2: together in a crazy way. They kind of argue a lot,
- 12:51Speaker 2: and yes it's bickering, and I can see it in
- 12:56Speaker 2: explosive fight in their future very much.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I think they have huge fights and then they have
- 13:02Speaker 1: great makeup sessions. I think I think this relationship is
- 13:05Speaker 1: all about sex and passion and not about the realities
- 13:09Speaker 1: of life. And part of me thinks, Oh, how wonderful.
- 13:13Speaker 1: This is just so much fun, It's so exciting. But
- 13:15Speaker 1: part of me thinks too, Mark, Oh, on paper, you
- 13:18Speaker 1: two are just so different. Her fingers crossed their qu
- 13:23Speaker 1: quickly before we go to break, I love this. Selena
- 13:26Speaker 1: Gomez is saying it is distasteful to talk about money.
- 13:31Speaker 1: What is she saying? Mark? That's right.
- 13:33Speaker 2: So Solenna Gomez is keeping things humble. This bet her
- 13:35Speaker 2: skyrocketing and worth. The pop star and actress, now reportedly
- 13:38Speaker 2: worth one point three billion dollars thanks to her Rare
- 13:41Speaker 2: beauty makeup brand, recently shared her thoughts on discussing well.
- 13:45Speaker 2: She said, I personally think it's distasteful to talk about money,
- 13:48Speaker 2: but I am really giving other credit to the people
- 13:50Speaker 2: who buy the products.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Hmm. I like it. I don't like talking about money.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I really don't. If I had a billion, would I
- 13:58Speaker 1: feel differently? Maybe I just not my thing. My mom
- 14:01Speaker 1: and dad don't talk about money. My brother Douglas, Oh,
- 14:03Speaker 1: that's all he talks about is how actually is. And
- 14:06Speaker 1: I'm not that I did quite well. But I don't
- 14:09Speaker 1: want to really discuss numbers or figures. I get a
- 14:13Speaker 1: little bit queasy when people ask me what do you
- 14:15Speaker 1: make or what do you earning the magazine or what
- 14:17Speaker 1: do you earn on the TV show? I don't like it.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Where are you buck? Are you full disclosure or are
- 14:22Speaker 1: you a little careful?
- 14:24Speaker 2: Well, listen it you live a nice life or I
- 14:25Speaker 2: live in a beautiful neighborhood in the city and you
- 14:27Speaker 2: know I live a nice life too, and you do.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I think for me, it's my family has always been
- 14:31Speaker 2: very open about it. We have discussions, and it's you know,
- 14:33Speaker 2: how to use money how as a tool for your life.
- 14:36Speaker 2: But I think with respect to like how much the
- 14:38Speaker 2: money I make or whatever, I'll share it with people
- 14:39Speaker 2: who I work with or people who I'm trying to
- 14:42Speaker 2: influence or help, you know, mentor for the way of
- 14:45Speaker 2: helping to help them grow. But I don't brag or
- 14:48Speaker 2: share in the way of just being, you know, a jerk.
- 14:51Speaker 1: That's the smart thing. It's the bragging, isn't it. It
- 14:53Speaker 1: feels like you're bragging, And how could you not be
- 14:55Speaker 1: bragging when you have a billion There's no normal way
- 14:58Speaker 1: to talk about like it's just the wildest thing. She
- 15:03Speaker 1: was not born into this. She did not inherit hundreds
- 15:05Speaker 1: of millions of dollars from her mom or her dad.
- 15:08Speaker 1: This is really self made. Taylor Swift had a very nice,
- 15:13Speaker 1: very nice family, very upper middle class family. Her dad
- 15:16Speaker 1: was very wealthy. Nowhere near the money that Taylor has made,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and I'm not taking that away from her. She's incredible.
- 15:22Speaker 1: But Selena Gome has really struggled. Her life was quite
- 15:25Speaker 1: quite difficult, and to think that she's gone on to
- 15:27Speaker 1: become a billionaire is just fantastic. Now, once again, I
- 15:32Speaker 1: don't like to talk about money, but maybe I'm wrong.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Maybe Selena should be doing classes at the ninety second
- 15:37Speaker 1: Street Why teaching us all how to get this rich
- 15:41Speaker 1: tak Congratulations. We're going to take a quick break and
- 15:44Speaker 1: we will be right back. Welcome back to the Naughty
- 15:49Speaker 1: but Nicermum Rob Shooter with idea friend Mark Lupo, Hey,
- 15:52Speaker 1: let's get to the poles. That last year we talked
- 15:55Speaker 1: about how Taylor Swift has been missing some of Travis's games.
- 15:59Speaker 1: But they're romance Okay. Lots of people are like, oh,
- 16:01Speaker 1: have they broken up? She's not there. No, they are fine.
- 16:04Speaker 1: She's busy. She's getting ready to go back out on
- 16:06Speaker 1: the road. He's busy doing his games. That question, mars,
- 16:11Speaker 1: should she get to all his games? If you're dating somebody,
- 16:15Speaker 1: are you expected to turn up and support them every
- 16:18Speaker 1: single time when they're at work? This is a work
- 16:20Speaker 1: event for him. Let's have a look. Should she get
- 16:22Speaker 1: at all his games? Only twenty percent said yes, I'm
- 16:25Speaker 1: with you, Naughty's live your lives and then go for dinner.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You don't have to turn up at my workplace and
