- 1:01Speaker 1: call us on the Mississippi Sports Medicine caller line, 601-897-1057. Now,
- 1:06Speaker 1: let's get into some high school football as we head
- 1:09Speaker 1: towards the weekend. Several high school games last night. And
- 1:13Speaker 1: let me go back and see how many teams did
- 1:16Speaker 1: actually play. Do we have that? There is a lot
- 1:22Speaker 1: out here because it's been a busy week in high
- 1:23Speaker 1: school football with our Blackwell rosters. Also, the Mississippi-Alabama rosters.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Let's see. We got Poplarville. We got this. We got this.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I'll see if I can find it. But anyway, we've
- 1:36Speaker 1: got the matchups for tonight. Number two, Petal, is 5-0,
- 1:40Speaker 1: and they're taking on West Jones 4-1. This is going
- 1:43Speaker 1: to be a big matchup in South Mississippi. This is
- 1:45Speaker 1: a non-region game, the last for both of these teams.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Petal has played somewhat of a lackluster schedule. They did
- 1:55Speaker 1: beat Gulfport in overtime. We still don't know how good.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I mean, Gulfport's good. We don't know if they're as
- 1:59Speaker 1: good as they were last year. But Brandon Chills has
- 2:02Speaker 1: a pedal pick to win 34-27. I'm going to go
- 2:04Speaker 1: the other way. I think Wes Jones wins this game tonight,
- 2:07Speaker 1: and I think they win it probably a little lower
- 2:08Speaker 1: than that, somewhere around 24-21. South Panola is 2-2. They
- 2:12Speaker 1: take on Lake Cormorant tonight. They head up to Lake Cormorant.
- 2:15Speaker 1: They beat the Tigers of South Panola, Region 1-6A, a
- 2:18Speaker 1: matchup of ranked teams in 6A as they open region play.
- 2:22Speaker 1: A lot of teams are opening region play. Brandon and
- 2:25Speaker 1: Northwest play here tonight at Bulldog Stadium regionally. Old Town
- 2:29Speaker 1: Brandon versus North Brandon tonight, and that is a region
- 2:32Speaker 1: game tonight. Shields has Cormorant winning 17-14. This is courtesy
- 2:36Speaker 1: of Mississippi Gridiron. And, again, I'm going to go against Shields.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I'm going to say I think South Panola wins this
- 2:41Speaker 1: game 17-14. We'll go the same score. Madison Central 2-3.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Took it on the chin in the non-region. They travel
- 2:48Speaker 1: to Oxford tonight. Oxford is 4-1. Their one loss was
- 2:52Speaker 1: to Tupelo, and Tupelo ran them out of the building
- 2:54Speaker 1: a few weeks ago. The Jags head up to Bobby
- 2:56Speaker 1: Holcomb Field to face the sixth-ranked Chargers of Oxford, a
- 3:01Speaker 1: 2-7-8 opener for both teams as that playoff jockeying in
- 3:05Speaker 1: Region 2-7-8 starts, and that is such a tough region,
- 3:08Speaker 1: maybe the toughest region in all of football and high
- 3:11Speaker 1: school here in Mississippi. Shields has Oxford winning 31-21. I
- 3:14Speaker 1: think that is probably right. No. 1 Tupelo will be
- 3:17Speaker 1: in town tonight to take on Hartfield, the top-ranked Golden Wave,
- 3:21Speaker 1: making a trip to Flowood to face the Hawks in
- 3:23Speaker 1: the MHSA-MAIS matchup of ranked teams. Hawks come into this
- 3:27Speaker 1: game at 3-2. It's also homecoming for Hartfield. Tupelo ranked
- 3:31Speaker 1: number one at 7A. Offensively, he's coming into the matchup
- 3:34Speaker 1: averaging 43.8 points per game, right at 190 yards passing,
- 3:41Speaker 1: 173 rushing. Drew Dean has done a good job at quarterback.
- 3:45Speaker 1: He comes over from Oxford. He has been kind of
- 3:48Speaker 1: the missing piece there. The two runners, they have Tyson
- 3:52Speaker 1: Hunter and Kylan Bobo, who is committed to Colorado. Then
- 3:57Speaker 1: that happened here recently. Also several receivers. He has Tupelo
- 4:00Speaker 1: winning 28-14. And I think that game may be a
- 4:04Speaker 1: little more lopsided than that. And that's no disrespect to
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Hawks. It's just Tupelo is really, really good. And
- 4:09Speaker 1: plus you're talking about numbers, roster numbers here too. Leak
- 4:13Speaker 1: at 4-1 travels to Cleveland Central. That's a 4-1 versus
- 4:17Speaker 1: 3-1 matchup. Leak is favored to win 30-20. Forrest is
- 4:21Speaker 1: down at Mendenhall tonight. Forrest 4-1 the Bearcats. Head over
- 4:25Speaker 1: to take on Mendenhall, who is 5-0. And it's one
- 4:29Speaker 1: of those years Mendenhall's got a really good squad. Mendenhall
- 4:32Speaker 1: goes up and they go down. They played for a
- 4:33Speaker 1: state championship a few years ago. Mendenhall is picked to
- 4:37Speaker 1: win 29-22, and I think that is probably right where
- 4:40Speaker 1: it needs to be. McComb is what was at Poplarville
- 4:44Speaker 1: last night. Poplarville wins in a double overtime matchup, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: they won a shootout last night. East Webster at Kemper County.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Jackson Academy at Jackson Prep tonight. as you've got one
- 4:56Speaker 1: of the bigger rivals in the state. Prep is 5-1.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Jackson Academy is 6-0. Shields has Jackson Academy picked to
- 5:03Speaker 1: win 21-17. Tri-County is at Washington School. Both teams with
- 5:08Speaker 1: impressive records, 4-1 for Tri-County. They're only lost to Jackson Prep.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Washington School 5-1, and he has Tri-County winning 24-10. Also,
- 5:17Speaker 1: earlier this week, if you missed it, the rosters for
- 5:20Speaker 1: the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game came out. And the Mississippi guys,
- 5:26Speaker 1: just kind of some high-point guys here. The quarterbacks in
- 5:29Speaker 1: the matchup, Nash Morgan from Warren Central will be a
- 5:33Speaker 1: quarterback that will play in that game. And Caden Wade
- 5:36Speaker 1: out of Kosciuszko. Those are your two quarterbacks. Your three
- 5:39Speaker 1: running backs for Mississippi, Kylan Bobo out of Tupelo, who's
- 5:42Speaker 1: headed to Colorado. Ty Keyes, Poplarville, headed to Miami. And
- 5:46Speaker 1: Tyson Robinson out of Brandon, who's headed to Michigan. Your
- 5:49Speaker 1: wide receivers, Deshaun Dillon, Northwest Rankin, who will be out
- 5:52Speaker 1: here tonight in Brandon, Jacksonville. Javarius Griffin out of Cleveland Central,
- 5:57Speaker 1: Sheldon Isaac out of Macomb, and then Ladarian McBride out
- 6:00Speaker 1: of Kosciuszko, and Jordan Wally out of D'Iberville. Another Wally, uh,
- 6:06Speaker 1: headed to college. Your athlete is out of Heidelberg, Chase Kraft. Uh,
- 6:10Speaker 1: you've got, let's see, several offensive linemen here coming from Oxford, Tupelo, D'Iberville, Brookhaven, Clinton, Germantown, Columbia,
- 6:19Speaker 1: and Oak Grove. Defensive linemen, um, there's some really good
- 6:23Speaker 1: ones here. Uh, from Poplarville, Oak Grove, Neshoba Central, and more.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Tupelo with several players on this team. Some local flavor.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Free safety, Jaden Thomas out of Pearl made the squad.
- 6:36Speaker 1: And let's see here. Patrick Schooler is your head coach
- 6:39Speaker 1: out of Pearl. Also your assistants, Alex Williams out of Aberdeen.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Russ Mitchell out of Germantown. He'll be your offensive coordinator.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Clint Hoots, Etiwamba AHS, is your defensive coordinator. Shannon Ruffin
- 6:52Speaker 1: out of Neshoba Central. Devin Cooper, Northwest Rankin, outside linebackers.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Josh Pulphus out of Quitman. Dan Brady out of Stringer.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Brock Clay, West Lauderdale. Also Tyrone Shorter out of Louisville.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And just for kicks, your Bernard Blackwell game rosters were selected.
- 7:12Speaker 1: That's your old north-south game. Kingston Johnson out of Starkville
- 7:16Speaker 1: will be your north quarterback, along with Drew Dean out
- 7:18Speaker 1: of Tupelo. And on your south roster, Kellen Hall out
- 7:22Speaker 1: of Oak Grove. Parrish Trevelyan out of past Christian and
- 7:27Speaker 1: Slade and Shaq out of Brandon. And local guys here,
- 7:32Speaker 1: let's see, looking down through the roster, you'll get Shaq
- 7:37Speaker 1: out of Brandon and Trey Collins, defensive back, out of
- 7:42Speaker 1: Terry here locally that will play. Let me go back
- 7:45Speaker 1: up to the north and make sure I didn't leave
- 7:47Speaker 1: anybody off that may be considered north, but north of 20,
- 7:51Speaker 1: if that makes sense. Let's see here. Looking through here,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you do have Taboris Lofton, offensive lineman out of Clinton,
- 7:57Speaker 1: will play for the North. And is there anybody else
- 8:01Speaker 1: on here? That looks to be it as far as
- 8:04Speaker 1: local guys in the Bernard Blackwell game. So some big
- 8:07Speaker 1: games tonight in high school football. A lot of, again,
- 8:11Speaker 1: region play tonight as we're in that mix. And this
- 8:14Speaker 1: is where the road to the championship starts for all
- 8:17Speaker 1: these teams. It's like, hey, look, if you're going to
- 8:18Speaker 1: be one of the top four teams in your region,
- 8:21Speaker 1: are you going to punch a ticket to the playoffs?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Playoff jockeying starts because you've got now about six weeks
- 8:28Speaker 1: of region play to where we'll turn into November and
- 8:31Speaker 1: it'll be playoff time before you know it. We're brought

- 10:09Speaker 1: sure to find them on Facebook as well, our friends
- 10:12Speaker 1: at taylorpower.com. Of course, Taylor Power on Facebook. All right,
- 10:16Speaker 1: it's an up-and-down road for Thomas Castellanos at Texas Tech.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Texas Tech backup quarterback Thomas Castellanos is now ineligible again
- 10:24Speaker 1: after an appeal court in Kentucky rolls for the NCAA
- 10:28Speaker 1: in one of the fifth-year player cases. So he has
- 10:31Speaker 1: been up. He has been down. It has been a
- 10:36Speaker 1: crazy ride there for Thomas Castellanos. All right, so most
- 10:43Speaker 1: of the picks coming in are on Alabama. over the weekend,
- 10:47Speaker 1: a couple for state on several outlets. That Florida-Missouri matchup
- 10:52Speaker 1: this weekend, most of them Florida, a couple on Missouri.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Everybody's in on Ohio State except one, whoever this Parker
- 11:00Speaker 1: character is, some national media guy. He picks Iowa. He's
- 11:03Speaker 1: probably an Iowa graduate. Kentucky-South Carolina kind of split down
- 11:07Speaker 1: the middle. Most people are picking Penn State tonight. Three
- 11:11Speaker 1: have Northwestern that I'm looking at. I actually like Northwestern
- 11:14Speaker 1: winning the game. Most everybody's in on Virginia Tech. One
- 11:17Speaker 1: Pittsburgh guy, some guy named Chance. He's probably Pittsburgh alone.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Louisville at NC State. Everybody's going Louisville. Virginia at Florida State.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Most people are picking Virginia. And what's interesting about that,
- 11:28Speaker 1: that would be another loss for Florida State. And Virginia's
- 11:32Speaker 1: a two-point favorite at Florida State tomorrow. And Florida State
- 11:39Speaker 1: right now, they're averaging 32 a game, giving up 25
- 11:43Speaker 1: a game. They're sitting at 2-2. They're on pace. to
- 11:47Speaker 1: do that whole six and six thing. And, you know,
- 11:51Speaker 1: that's not going to cut it for Mike Norvell. That
- 11:53Speaker 1: will not cut it for Mike Norvell as, you know,
- 11:57Speaker 1: getting back into this buyout pieces and coaches on the
- 12:00Speaker 1: hot seat. Again, Lincoln Riley with a buyout of around
- 12:03Speaker 1: $ 60 million. As many in the industry assumed that this
- 12:07Speaker 1: is a make or break year for Lincoln Riley. There's
- 12:11Speaker 1: even some chatter out there that former Washington A.D., who
- 12:16Speaker 1: is now the athletics director at USC, may try to
- 12:19Speaker 1: pursue Kalen DeBoer at Alabama. Shane Beamer is on the
- 12:24Speaker 1: hot seat, there is no doubt. The way Carolina has started,
- 12:27Speaker 1: his buyout sits between $ 22 and $ 24 million. And you
- 12:31Speaker 1: would have to think that if this thing doesn't go
- 12:33Speaker 1: well for him, this could be it for him. Mike
- 12:35Speaker 1: Loxley at Maryland has a buyout of $ 8 to $ 10 million. And,
- 12:41Speaker 1: you know, Maryland obviously not a power. That's the one
- 12:43Speaker 1: we always say, hey, that's a very nice Maryland team.
- 12:46Speaker 1: meaning very average. You know, kind of the benchmark for
- 12:49Speaker 1: average is Maryland, at least the way we put it
- 12:50Speaker 1: around here. Mike Loxley could be gone. Bill Belichick, North Carolina,
- 12:55Speaker 1: they're going to get drugged tomorrow likely against Notre Dame.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That buyout's at $ 10 million to $ 12 million for North Carolina. Norvell,
- 13:02Speaker 1: $ 45 million to $ 50 million. This is the firing of
- 13:05Speaker 1: your boss in this case. Athletics Director Mike Alford normally
- 13:08Speaker 1: doesn't bode well for many coaches, but it was Alford's firing.
- 13:12Speaker 1: But was Alford's firing a product of the university administrators
- 13:15Speaker 1: pinning the Football issue on the AD. Is Norvell out
- 13:19Speaker 1: of the woods? Unlikely. But some at Florida State believe
- 13:23Speaker 1: that the coach can still survive by winning enough games
- 13:26Speaker 1: this year. Some are saying seven. Does seven keep his job?
- 13:31Speaker 1: The buyout figure is high enough to present a problem
- 13:34Speaker 1: for the department to spend hundreds of millions of dollars.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So high buyout there for Mike Norvell. And you look
- 13:40Speaker 1: at Florida State at two and two. If they lose
- 13:43Speaker 1: tonight to Virginia or tomorrow to Virginia, that puts them
- 13:46Speaker 1: at 2-3. Then they have trips on the road to
- 13:49Speaker 1: Louisville and Miami. Back-to-back, so you're looking at probably two
- 13:53Speaker 1: losses there. That's 2-5, 3-4-5. Clemson would probably be a
- 13:59Speaker 1: coin flip at Boston College, at Pittsburgh, NC State, and
- 14:02Speaker 1: then Florida. They wouldn't beat Florida, so that's six losses.
- 14:06Speaker 1: He's not going to make it. Florida State may be
- 14:09Speaker 1: an under-500 team again. this year uh some other ones
- 14:14Speaker 1: to watch Dave Dorian believe it or not at NC
- 14:17Speaker 1: State and he's been there a long time but that
- 14:19Speaker 1: program has gone backwards under Dorian uh he's won at
- 14:23Speaker 1: least eight games in five of the last six years
- 14:25Speaker 1: but everyone at some point has overstayed their welcome the
- 14:28Speaker 1: game ending a disaster against Vanderbilt may linger his buyouts
- 14:31Speaker 1: at 10 to 12 million also Sonny Dykes TCU uh
- 14:36Speaker 1: after back-to-back nine win seasons the Horned Frogs seemed uh
- 14:40Speaker 1: headed for a tough year. The 2022 trip to the
- 14:42Speaker 1: national championship game. It seems light years away now. Uh,
- 14:46Speaker 1: can they turn it around? Dykes buyout is unknown because
- 14:48Speaker 1: TCU is a private school. It's more than likely figures
- 14:51Speaker 1: are reporting somewhere around 25 million. Greg Shiano at Rutgers
- 14:56Speaker 1: is another one. Uh, it has not been a fun 2.0
- 15:01Speaker 1: at Rutgers for him. No one has more friends in
- 15:03Speaker 1: Jersey than this guy, but Shiano Scarlet Knights are off
- 15:05Speaker 1: to a one and three start. They went five and
- 15:07Speaker 1: seven last year. Rutgers, uh, You have to wonder, do
- 15:10Speaker 1: they have the money to cut a big check? His
- 15:12Speaker 1: buyout's around $ 19 million. And how vested is Rutgers in
- 15:15Speaker 1: football anyway? I have no idea. Deion Sanders on this list.
- 15:19Speaker 1: The Buffaloes haven't been the same since losing Heisman winner
- 15:24Speaker 1: Travis Hunter or Shador Sanders. Their win at Georgia Tech
- 15:28Speaker 1: masked some real issues and popped up at Baylor Northwestern.
- 15:32Speaker 1: His buyout is at $ 25 million. So there's a lot
- 15:36Speaker 1: of questions here in the When you start talking coaches,
- 15:40Speaker 1: then you have to start talking what does the domino
- 15:44Speaker 1: effect do? So let's just assume all these coaches are gone,
- 15:48Speaker 1: just for an assumption. So Lincoln Riley and USC, and
- 15:53Speaker 1: we already told you Florida State could project to go
- 15:56Speaker 1: five and seven the rest of the way for the year.
- 16:00Speaker 1: If USC, who is sitting at four and one, They
- 16:06Speaker 1: play Washington tomorrow. Let's just say they win that. Let's
- 16:09Speaker 1: say they split the next two, Washington and Holman at
- 16:12Speaker 1: Penn State. So that gets them to 5-2. They go
- 16:16Speaker 1: to Wisconsin. They'll win that 6-2. They play Ohio State.
- 16:20Speaker 1: That's 6-3 at Indiana, 6-4. They beat Maryland 7-4 but
- 16:25Speaker 1: then lose to what is kind of a bounce-back UCLA team.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I mean, UCLA right now is 4-0. They're 4-0 with
- 16:33Speaker 1: wins at Cal, at Maryland. They beat Purdue and San
- 16:36Speaker 1: Diego State. They'll play Oregon on the road in two
- 16:39Speaker 1: weeks or next week. Lincoln Riley's probably gone at 7-5.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I mean, he's probably done, believe it or not, at 7-5.
- 16:48Speaker 1: So where does USC go to look for a coach
- 16:51Speaker 1: if he's out? Maybe Alabama. Maybe they pull Kalen DeBoer. Well,
- 16:56Speaker 1: Lincoln Riley then is available. Somebody will pick him up.
- 16:59Speaker 1: And if Riley is out at USC... and Norvell is
- 17:03Speaker 1: out at Florida State, then that starts that domino effect, right?
- 17:07Speaker 1: So just play the game. DeBoer maybe leaves Alabama. A
- 17:12Speaker 1: lot of people in Tuscaloosa may say he's not leaving
- 17:14Speaker 1: us for USC. He's a West Coast guy. Maybe he
- 17:17Speaker 1: wants to go back to the West Coast. They'll pay
- 17:19Speaker 1: him handsomely. Bama's paying him handsomely. They'll pay him handsomely.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And maybe USC has more money in the war chest
- 17:26Speaker 1: in NIL.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Did Bama?
- 17:31Speaker 1: I have no idea. I would assume they probably do.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Just where they're located and, you know, what the alumni
- 17:36Speaker 1: do with the, you know, data centers and everything that's
- 17:39Speaker 1: going on in California. So he goes, that opens Bama up.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Where does Bama go? Do they go to Kirby Smart?
- 17:46Speaker 1: Do they go, I mean, who knows where they go?
- 17:49Speaker 1: So it just creates this domino effect. And, you know,
- 17:51Speaker 1: Beamer out at Carolina, Carolina would be down in the
- 17:53Speaker 1: pecking order as far as national guys. Maryland would definitely
- 17:58Speaker 1: be down, you know, the pecking order. North Carolina, if
- 18:02Speaker 1: they got rid of Belichick, I mean, I don't know
- 18:06Speaker 1: where they go. I mean, they've had success with Mack
- 18:10Speaker 1: Brown twice. That's not going to be a third time.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Florida State, where do they go? NC State's down the
- 18:15Speaker 1: pecking order. TCU down the pecking order. Rutgers down the
- 18:17Speaker 1: pecking order. I mean, so the two heaviest would be
- 18:20Speaker 1: Florida State and USC. And then if they parch, say,
- 18:26Speaker 1: DeBoer at Alabama, then Alabama's got to find a coach.
- 18:28Speaker 1: So just some interesting stuff here as we start to
- 18:31Speaker 1: look towards what may happen in college football. Ole Miss, again,
- 18:36Speaker 1: signs a deal with Adidas and courtesy of Chase Parham.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Let me pull this up real quick. Where did that go?
- 18:45Speaker 1: There it is. Ole Miss' move to Adidas is a
- 18:48Speaker 1: seven-year agreement currently being finalized. The per-year figure will be
- 18:52Speaker 1: more than $ 20 million annually. more than the $ 20 million
- 18:57Speaker 1: annual deal Miami just signed with Nike, excuse me, Adidas,
- 19:00Speaker 1: will provide significant NIL value for Ole Miss. So Ole
- 19:03Speaker 1: Miss solidifying some money, again, through the apparel deal with Adidas.
- 19:09Speaker 1: And also tonight's game, the money is slightly coming in
- 19:12Speaker 1: on Penn State over Northwestern. We told you about this
- 19:14Speaker 1: game tonight. Penn State headed to Northwestern. Northwestern breaking in
- 19:18Speaker 1: a new facility tonight, a beautiful stadium by the renderings
- 19:20Speaker 1: and pictures that are out there. Never been, probably never
- 19:23Speaker 1: will be. But it looks really good. 56% like Penn
- 19:26Speaker 1: State over Northwestern, 44%. And this note from Trey Wallace
- 19:32Speaker 1: with OutKick. Last Saturday, Tennessee opened the gates to Neyland
- 19:36Speaker 1: Stadium for an hour earlier, an hour earlier than normal,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and also sold half-price alcohol for the first hour. How
- 19:43Speaker 1: much did they sell during the Texas game? A Tennessee
- 19:46Speaker 1: spokesperson said 95,000 units were sold in that hour. for
- 19:50Speaker 1: a total of $ 1. 3 million. That is unbelievable. We're brought

- 22:02Speaker 1: As we take you to the weekend here, a couple
- 22:04Speaker 1: more stories to get into as, excuse me, Chris Evilhair
- 22:08Speaker 1: will join us at some point, probably, if he gets
- 22:11Speaker 1: here tonight. Well, if not, he just won't join us.
- 22:13Speaker 1: How about that? Diego Pavia, there's news on Diego Pavia,
- 22:17Speaker 1: as we may get into, trying to find a wife
- 22:19Speaker 1: with a new career on Twitch stream. It looks like
- 22:23Speaker 1: he might have given up on football. At least that's
- 22:27Speaker 1: what it looks like for Diego Pavia. All right, let
- 22:30Speaker 1: me get some more stories over here. If you've got predictions,
- 22:33Speaker 1: let us know on what's going on this weekend, Mississippi
- 22:35Speaker 1: State and Alabama, and then also several other big games.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I think Missouri, Florida is going to be a fun game.
- 22:42Speaker 1: We'll see what happens with South Carolina and Kentucky. And
- 22:46Speaker 1: you've got Auburn and Tennessee, and we haven't talked a
- 22:48Speaker 1: whole lot about that. Also, this is out, if Arkansas
- 22:53Speaker 1: had never fired Bobby Petrino, remember we told you earlier
- 22:56Speaker 1: about Kevin Sumlin. If Kevin Sumlin had never been fired
- 23:00Speaker 1: at Texas A & M and they kept him up
- 23:02Speaker 1: until today and they continued on the same trajectory winning
- 23:06Speaker 1: 67% of their games and they gave him $ 2 million
- 23:10Speaker 1: on a raise every four years, They'd have two more
- 23:12Speaker 1: wins today than they have today. Two more wins. If
- 23:16Speaker 1: Arkansas had never fired Bobby Petrino and they continued giving
- 23:19Speaker 1: him $ 2 million raises every four years and he kept
- 23:22Speaker 1: his 67% winning percentage, Petrino would be making $ 9. 56 million
- 23:27Speaker 1: today and the Razorbacks would have 46 more wins.
- 23:32Speaker 3: 46.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Now, I know that they was in a quagmire with
- 23:38Speaker 1: the whole Motorcycle gate and everything that was going on.
- 23:41Speaker 1: But think about that. If Petrino had continued to stay
- 23:44Speaker 1: there and on his same trajectory, 67% winning percentage, Arkansas
- 23:49Speaker 1: would have 46 more wins today than they have currently.
- 23:54Speaker 1: And also, you know, when you kind of start looking
- 23:58Speaker 1: at this matchup between, well, let me go over here
- 24:01Speaker 1: because I think I did run a 10,000 simulation on
- 24:06Speaker 1: over here on Mississippi State and Alabama. Let me see.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Where did that go? Because I think I pulled that up.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Let's see. Where did that go? All right, the 10,000-plus
- 24:19Speaker 1: game iteration that I ran earlier, I meant to bring
- 24:22Speaker 1: this up. Win probability, Alabama 66% out of these, 34%
- 24:25Speaker 1: to Mississippi State. The spread is minus 5.5. Alabama covers 50.3%
- 24:28Speaker 1: of the time. Mississippi State 49.7.
- 24:29Speaker 2: The total.
- 24:38Speaker 1: And, again, this is a total I wouldn't touch. It's 60.5
- 24:40Speaker 1: just because you don't know about the weather. We don't
- 24:45Speaker 1: know when the rain is coming in there. Over 49.8%
- 24:48Speaker 1: of the time out of 10,000 simulation ballgames, under 50.2%. So,
- 24:52Speaker 1: I mean, it's that total at 60.5, you're going to
- 24:56Speaker 1: butt right up to it. Typical score, Alabama 33, Mississippi
- 25:00Speaker 1: State 27. Mean margin plus 5.6. How the game ends.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Alabama by a point to six points, 17.4% of the time.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Alabama by seven to 13, 19.5% of the time. Alabama
- 25:12Speaker 1: by 14 or more, 27.9% of the time. Mississippi State
- 25:14Speaker 1: by a point to 7.16% of the time. State by
- 25:16Speaker 1: eight or more, 16.8% of the time. But the common
- 25:18Speaker 1: score out of the 10,000 iteration is Alabama 33, Mississippi
- 25:20Speaker 1: State 27. And that puts you right at 60. right
- 25:36Speaker 1: at 60 points is where that would put you. So
- 25:39Speaker 1: if you're just looking for some more nuggets. But, again,
- 25:42Speaker 1: I think when you start tomorrow, it's all about who
- 25:47Speaker 1: starts fast. And can Mississippi State, you know, it's going
- 25:51Speaker 1: to be interesting to see what Zach Arnett does in
- 25:53Speaker 1: this ballgame because Alabama hasn't been great. They've been good
- 25:58Speaker 1: in the run game. Daniel Hill. four touchdowns, 225 yards,
- 26:05Speaker 1: 46 attempts. Of course, he'll want to have a big
- 26:07Speaker 1: game tomorrow. It's kind of a homecoming for him as
- 26:09Speaker 1: he played, uh, high school football in Meridian. And, uh,
- 26:14Speaker 1: it'll be a homecoming for him. So does, does Zach
- 26:16Speaker 1: Arnett try to take away Keelan Russell in the run
- 26:20Speaker 1: game first, and then the pass, you know, one, a
- 26:23Speaker 1: one B and kind of give them some opportunities in
- 26:26Speaker 1: the run game. Again, it's going to be interesting to
- 26:28Speaker 1: have both teams play. How does Alabama play Camario Taylor? Um,
- 26:32Speaker 1: You know, a guy that obviously could throw the deep ball.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I would expect Taylor, you may see, run a little
- 26:38Speaker 1: more tomorrow. They haven't really cut him loose. We know
- 26:42Speaker 1: that he can get up and get down. Both quarterbacks,
- 26:46Speaker 1: it's going to be interesting to see how they play them.
- 26:48Speaker 1: You know, Alabama comes into this game fourth in offensive
- 26:52Speaker 1: scoring efficiency in the country and ninth defensively. They do
- 26:56Speaker 1: have some, you know, the secondary was supposed to be
- 26:58Speaker 1: a big plus for Alabama this year. And it's been okay.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It hasn't been great. They've got a couple safeties, one
- 27:05Speaker 1: right here from the state of Mississippi. Bray Hubbard, who
- 27:08Speaker 1: played at Ocean Springs, quarterback at Ocean Springs, he was
- 27:11Speaker 1: recruited there, converted to a safety very similar to what
- 27:14Speaker 1: probably Mississippi State is going to do with Nash Morgan
- 27:17Speaker 1: out of Warren Central. But they are, Florida State showed
- 27:21Speaker 1: you can get behind them. Mississippi State comes in eighth.
- 27:25Speaker 1: offensive scoring efficiency, and 31st defensive scoring efficiency. So their
- 27:29Speaker 1: defensive scoring efficiency numbers are off a little bit compared
- 27:32Speaker 1: to Alabama at six. But then when you look at,
- 27:36Speaker 1: you know, again, Alabama, both teams have played pretty comparable
- 27:40Speaker 1: schedules relative to one another. I mean, you look at
- 27:44Speaker 1: Alabama with games against East Carolina at Kentucky, Florida State,
- 27:49Speaker 1: and they both played South Carolina. Of course, Mississippi State
- 27:52Speaker 1: with a road win at Minnesota. and then a home
- 27:55Speaker 1: win against Louisiana Monroe and ranked Missouri. So it's very,
- 28:00Speaker 1: very comparable schedules. You know, for Georgia, they've got to
- 28:04Speaker 1: turn around and play Georgia next week. So you wonder
- 28:09Speaker 1: if any of the Alabama players are kind of looking
- 28:11Speaker 1: to next week. And for Mississippi State, you know, you're
- 28:16Speaker 1: going to get an off week after this, which is
- 28:19Speaker 1: good because on the 17th of October, you go to LSU.
- 28:24Speaker 1: before returning home to play Oklahoma and then going on
- 28:27Speaker 1: the road to play Texas. And I'll be interested to
- 28:31Speaker 1: see how Alabama plays early because, again, they're doing the
- 28:34Speaker 1: whole travel tomorrow thing. You know, Bama typically for years
- 28:39Speaker 1: and years would stay in Columbus when they played Mississippi State.
- 28:42Speaker 1: They'd just bus over to Columbus, stay in Columbus, and
- 28:44Speaker 1: then come down the next morning or whenever they played
- 28:46Speaker 1: that night or whatever. They're coming over in the morning.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I'm very interested in this because– You know, we've seen
- 28:53Speaker 1: this a few times with teams, and it didn't work
- 28:55Speaker 1: out well for them. You know, Mississippi State under Sylvester
- 28:58Speaker 1: Croom his last year, they flew in the day of
- 29:01Speaker 1: to Louisiana Tech to Shreveport, and a lot of you
- 29:04Speaker 1: Mississippi State fans may have been at that game, and
- 29:07Speaker 1: they looked a little cloudy, lethargic, just slow, not good.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Some of that could have been the team's talent. That
- 29:14Speaker 1: wasn't a good team, but it did not end well
- 29:17Speaker 1: for them on that. So you think about Alabama's schedule,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and I know it's only an hour, and some change.
- 29:25Speaker 1: But if you're in Columbus, you're only 20 minutes to start.
- 29:29Speaker 1: So you can start your day a little earlier. But
- 29:31Speaker 1: if you're in Tuscaloosa with an 11 a.m. kick, you're
- 29:35Speaker 1: going to be at the stadium two hours before. That's
- 29:36Speaker 1: 9 o'clock. So now you've got an hour. Just give
- 29:39Speaker 1: yourself an hour. and a half, 9 to 8, so
- 29:42Speaker 1: you've got to leave at 7.30, which means if you're
- 29:45Speaker 1: busing at 7.30, I mean, you're going to get up
- 29:48Speaker 1: and you're going to eat and have a breakfast, you know, 6.35.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I mean, you're probably talking about a wake-up call at
- 29:53Speaker 1: 3 o'clock, literally 3 o'clock. Because a lot of teams
- 29:57Speaker 1: like to get up, move around, stretch, maybe do a
- 30:00Speaker 1: little calisthenics, get the blood moving. Alabama's going to be up.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I mean, in state, rightfully so. I mean, playing at home,
- 30:06Speaker 1: they're going to be there. So, I mean, their wake-up
- 30:09Speaker 1: time may be at 5 o'clock. So, it's an interesting
- 30:13Speaker 1: play here for Alabama to get up and do everything
- 30:16Speaker 1: in Tuscaloosa and then hit a bus to come over
- 30:19Speaker 1: for an hour and 15 to 20 minutes. They'll, of course,
- 30:22Speaker 1: have the escort from Alabama. Tennessee Highway Patrol, or excuse me,
- 30:28Speaker 1: Alabama Highway Patrol and more. 601-885-3776 if you want to
- 30:30Speaker 1: text us. We'll have one more segment to go when
- 30:32Speaker 1: we get back. Let me get you one more note here.
- 30:37Speaker 1: This out of the NFL on NBC, Puka Nakua does
- 30:40Speaker 1: not have an injury designation and is expected to play
- 30:42Speaker 1: Sunday versus the Eagles. Rams coach Sean McVay announced, so
- 30:46Speaker 1: he is on the active list.
- 30:48Speaker 5: And....
- 30:51Speaker 1: Pat McAfee says, quote, it's always tough for Alabama going
- 30:53Speaker 1: to Mississippi State. It was one of the hardest games
- 30:56Speaker 1: for us in that environment, Coach Nick Saban said, as
- 30:59Speaker 1: the ESPN board starts to really chatter more about this game.
- 31:04Speaker 1: And then Virginia Tech getting ready to take on Pittsburgh tonight,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and that should be a good one in college football.
- 31:14Speaker 1: We are brought to you by Mississippi Blood Service. Let's
- 31:15Speaker 1: go to msblood.com, 601-368. 2673. One more segment to go
- 31:20Speaker 1: on a Friday. Back in a bit.
- 31:22Speaker 2: My name is Connor Griffin. I'm thankful for Mississippi Sports
- 31:24Speaker 2: Medicine just for all that they've done for me.
- 31:26Speaker 5: All of the doctors there, they just care about our children,
- 31:30Speaker 5: and that's just so important to me as a parent.
- 31:32Speaker 5: It's very rewarding to have compassionate people as a part
- 31:36Speaker 5: of our family's health journey.
- 31:37Speaker 1: You kind of learn your body at a young age,
- 31:39Speaker 1: and if you want to perform at the best, your body.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Has to be at the best as well.
- 31:42Speaker 1: At the end of the day, it's my.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Body before a game, so I've got to take care
- 31:45Speaker 2: of that when I need to. Mississippi Sports Medicine has

- 31:52Speaker 1: A whole lot more around here.
- 31:54Speaker 2: It's the Afternoon Drive with Jake Wimberly. What's the score?
- 31:57Speaker 3: He's got that.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Along with the hottest sports stories of the day. On
- 32:00Speaker 1: ESPN 105.9 The Zone and online at TheZone1059. com. Final segment
- 32:20Speaker 1: on a Friday brought to you by Maristar Casino. We're
- 32:22Speaker 1: also brought to you by Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Thanks to Keith Hardy. Also, thanks to Rafael Esparza. Jumping
- 32:28Speaker 1: on your radio. As real quickly, this from John, I
- 32:34Speaker 1: guess that's Loesch. Tomahawk Nation, Florida State, has obtained a
- 32:39Speaker 1: letter addressed to the House Speaker, Mike Johnson, and signed
- 32:42Speaker 1: by the President of Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina, and Miami.
- 32:45Speaker 1: It asks the House to drop the independence requirement from
- 32:48Speaker 1: Section 205 of the Protect College Sports Act and increase
- 32:52Speaker 1: the conference membership limit to 22. Well, that tells you
- 32:55Speaker 1: all you need to know. They're all wanting to bolt still.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Florida State, Clemson, UNC, Miami, they don't want to have
- 33:00Speaker 1: the independent requirement. Because remember, if you heard it, and
- 33:04Speaker 1: remember if you didn't, in this bill, if it passes,
- 33:10Speaker 1: if you leave a conference, you've got to sit in
- 33:11Speaker 1: independence for three years, which is so stupid. So, yeah,
- 33:14Speaker 1: this whole house bill is not going to pass. Chris
- 33:16Speaker 1: Abelhair is sitting down eating some– what are you eating
- 33:17Speaker 1: over there?
- 33:18Speaker 2: Dickies.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Dickies barbecue. So that's on the menu tonight.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 1: How about that?
- 33:23Speaker 2: There's not much left. Did you get you some?
- 33:26Speaker 1: No. What do you mean not much left? They just
- 33:28Speaker 1: brought it.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Well, Abelhair took it all.
- 33:32Speaker 1: No.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Clearly.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Let me do this segment by myself. You better go
- 33:35Speaker 1: get some food. Me and Beaver will do this segment. What,
- 33:37Speaker 1: are the students eating it? You never know up here.
- 33:41Speaker 1: You come in halftime, and it's all gone. Hey, there's
- 33:43Speaker 1: cookies and brownies in there, too. Oh, thank you. Appreciate that.
- 33:45Speaker 2: No pickles. Sorry, dude.
- 33:46Speaker 1: You're not coming anyway, so. No, he's coming to Pearl.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Pearl here in a few weeks.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Coming to Pearl.
- 33:52Speaker 1: All right, well, I guess I'll have to go down
- 33:53Speaker 1: to the unbelievable. There's still some left. Okay.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Purvey came in here and said the same thing, that
- 33:58Speaker 2: we ate all his food.
- 33:59Speaker 1: And there's plenty over there. All right.
- 34:01Speaker 2: State Bama. I knew you were going to do it.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Take the homer out of it. Who do you got tomorrow?
- 34:06Speaker 2: I knew you were going to do it.
- 34:08Speaker 1: And I've said for the past, what, three weeks?
- 34:11Speaker 2: But I'm not on board. I'm going to pull our
- 34:14Speaker 2: tie balls out here.
- 34:15Speaker 1: No, don't do that.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Go, Dawgs. Let's go.
- 34:19Speaker 1: If you do that, they're going to lose. You know,
- 34:20Speaker 1: if you do that, they're going to lose. And if
- 34:21Speaker 1: you bring back– for the love of God, please know
- 34:24Speaker 1: Mississippi State fans, do a We Believe sign or a
- 34:27Speaker 1: We Believe shirt.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Please don't.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Don't do the We Believe thing. I was on my
- 34:31Speaker 1: way back from Volkfield, Wisconsin, and I was flying up
- 34:34Speaker 1: front in a C-17, and Colonel Evans– or, excuse me,
- 34:36Speaker 1: he retired as a general, major general– General.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Evans was flying.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Of course, he's a state grad, engineering department up there,
- 34:42Speaker 1: and he is literally talking to air traffic control and
- 34:46Speaker 1: getting scoring updates because, of course, we're 30,000 feet in
- 34:49Speaker 1: the air, and we all had the headsets on, and
- 34:51Speaker 1: he was asking the air traffic control to score that game.
- 34:54Speaker 1: It was close there for a second when we took
- 34:56Speaker 1: off and about halfway to Jackson.
- 34:57Speaker 2: It's like, yep, no, we're done. What was that, 30
- 35:00Speaker 2: to nothing was the final, something like that?
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah, pulling that up. And here's what I don't understand is,
- 35:05Speaker 1: you know, you can pick slogans and things that work.
- 35:08Speaker 1: When they work, you use them, right? Like when Mullen
- 35:12Speaker 1: did the whole this is our state, that was pretty
- 35:14Speaker 1: catchy for a while.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:16Speaker 1: You know, several years, this is our state. They did
- 35:18Speaker 1: the whole billboards. Well, you remember the one with the Vanderbilt.
- 35:22Speaker 1: The guy says, Alabama, when you come to Vanderbilt, you're
- 35:25Speaker 1: going to know what ball we play.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Alabama, you're next. And then Jalen Hurts goes, theoretically, we
- 35:30Speaker 1: are next on the schedule. And we're 59-6.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:33Speaker 1: But the we believe thing didn't work out.
- 35:35Speaker 5: No.
- 35:35Speaker 1: So why would you– it would be just like this, like,
- 35:38Speaker 1: you know, You decided you were going to change the
- 35:40Speaker 1: tires on your car, and they blew out. So why
- 35:42Speaker 1: would you go back with that brand of tire? Well,
- 35:45Speaker 1: it's kind of the same thing. You know, that fourth
- 35:46Speaker 1: quarter tradition used to be the don't stop believing. They
- 35:49Speaker 1: still do don't stop believing, but it's not between the
- 35:52Speaker 1: third and the fourth quarter. Like, that's gone away. Have
- 35:54Speaker 1: you been to a night game lately? I haven't. All right,
- 35:56Speaker 1: so that's kind of gone away. Now, they still do
- 35:58Speaker 1: it in the fourth quarter, but it's like five or
- 36:00Speaker 1: six minutes left.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Compared to going into the fourth quarter. Like, that was
- 36:03Speaker 2: that tradition with.
- 36:04Speaker 1: With mulling that was don't stop believing but you know
- 36:07Speaker 1: that's what the journey song yeah but that's gone yeah
- 36:09Speaker 1: so i mean don't don't do it's not a tradition
- 36:11Speaker 1: if it doesn't work no well you make it your
- 36:14Speaker 1: tradition you make it work well never mind we are
- 36:16Speaker 1: talking about so who did you pick to win the
- 36:19Speaker 1: game man as much as it pains me to say
- 36:21Speaker 1: this look i think it's going to be a game
- 36:24Speaker 1: and i've gone back and forth back and forth we
- 36:25Speaker 1: could go in there and get blown out you know
- 36:27Speaker 1: a couple things not go our ways but You know,
- 36:30Speaker 1: I think this is a different Alabama team than it
- 36:32Speaker 1: was when Saban was there.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Of course. You know, different type of Alabama.
- 36:36Speaker 1: You know, they keep, it's funny, I see them keep
- 36:38Speaker 1: talking about the record. I think they're 0-19. The last
- 36:44Speaker 1: time they beat them was on Croom in 2006, maybe, 2007. But,
- 36:48Speaker 1: you know, I think it's a different game of football now. So,
- 36:51Speaker 1: I think anybody can win on any Sunday. I think
- 36:54Speaker 1: it all depends on Kamario Taylor.
- 36:56Speaker 2: And the day that he has.
- 36:57Speaker 1: And I say that to say is also offensive line,
- 37:00Speaker 1: how much time they give him to protect protection for
- 37:02Speaker 1: him and if they can get.
- 37:04Speaker 2: The run game.
- 37:05Speaker 1: If they jump up on Alabama quick and kind of
- 37:08Speaker 1: force Keelan Russell to play, I think State's got a really,
- 37:10Speaker 1: really good shot. I think that defense is going to
- 37:12Speaker 1: show up. They got the edge. They got qualified for
- 37:15Speaker 1: West Virginia.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I can't remember that guy's name.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I can't either. I know you're talking about him. I
- 37:18Speaker 1: don't know if he's playing, but you got a little
- 37:20Speaker 1: bit more pressure if you do have him. On that,
- 37:22Speaker 1: I think the biggest thing as well is, you know,
- 37:25Speaker 1: are you going to be able to put pressure on
- 37:26Speaker 1: Keelan Russell? No, I think you're right.
- 37:28Speaker 2: With that being said, I'm still taking Alabama.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Any chance?
- 37:30Speaker 2: I hate to say that. Okay, fair enough.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Any chance Missouri beats Florida? I don't think that's as
- 37:37Speaker 1: big as a trap game as the Ole Miss-Florida game
- 37:40Speaker 1: was after LSU.
- 37:41Speaker 2: I think Missouri is going to be hungry. But until
- 37:45Speaker 2: somebody knocks Florida off, I mean, Florida's rolling right now.
- 37:49Speaker 2: I just don't think that they have a shot even
- 37:50Speaker 2: at home.
- 37:51Speaker 1: No, I think you're right. You know, Florida looks so
- 37:54Speaker 1: good right now. Now, you know, now the Bullseye is
- 37:57Speaker 1: kind of on their back as I'm looking at some
- 38:00Speaker 1: of these predictions here on some of these games. You've
- 38:02Speaker 1: got Ohio State, Iowa, interest you at all?
- 38:06Speaker 2: No. And I knew that that was going to happen.
- 38:08Speaker 1: And, of course, they weren't going to go to the
- 38:09Speaker 1: game day and NSC school five weeks in a row. And,
- 38:13Speaker 1: of course, Kirk Herford can't stay in Mississippi State. He
- 38:15Speaker 1: picks against us every year. Well, you think he really
- 38:18Speaker 1: doesn't like State? Yes.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Why?
- 38:21Speaker 1: What would Starville do to him? Nothing.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Go back to 2014 game day. After what? We beat LSU,
- 38:28Speaker 2: A & M. I forgot the other games we've been in.
- 38:30Speaker 1: We went from unranked to number three in the country
- 38:33Speaker 1: in five weeks, and then he finally gets on board
- 38:35Speaker 1: when game day comes to Starville and they beat Auburn.
- 38:38Speaker 1: He finally says Mississippi State. Right after that, he's never
- 38:41Speaker 1: picked State since. I think he holds a grudge because
- 38:44Speaker 1: the food's too good for him. He's used to that
- 38:46Speaker 1: Ohio State food. Maybe he doesn't like the Bulldog.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Could be.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Because of his dog. Oh.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:53Speaker 2: What's that, Peter?
- 38:53Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 38:54Speaker 2: That dog lives a better life than we do.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Why, and I've asked this a million times, why did
- 38:58Speaker 1: ESPN make an executive decision to think that we all
- 39:01Speaker 1: liked his dog? Well, you know, I think it happened
- 39:04Speaker 1: right after his older dog passed away. So his older
- 39:07Speaker 1: dog passed away. That was like his best friend. And
- 39:09Speaker 1: then he got the new one. And the new one
- 39:11Speaker 1: is the one that's kind of... There's millions of people
- 39:14Speaker 1: that lose pets that they're best friends.
- 39:16Speaker 2: I lost two this year.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I mean, it happens, but I don't fly mine around
- 39:20Speaker 1: on a private jet either with a headset on. Yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 1: I don't care about Kirk Herbstreit's dog. Did you see
- 39:26Speaker 1: Tony Romo's out of CBS? No.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he is done.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Well, you know, there was some stuff that happened personally
- 39:33Speaker 1: with him. Oh, yes, yes, I did see that. But
- 39:35Speaker 1: I didn't know that he was out at CBS. I
- 39:37Speaker 1: know he was temporarily suspended. Yeah, he put a statement
- 39:40Speaker 1: out today. It's officially, of course, thanking CBS for the
- 39:43Speaker 1: opportunity and all of that stuff.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Nobody ever asked you, who do you got?
- 39:48Speaker 1: All by mistake. Um... I've got State to cover. I've
- 39:51Speaker 1: got Bama to win. I think it's going to be
- 39:53Speaker 1: a close game. I think State's got to show. Now,
- 39:56Speaker 1: they showed a lot at Minnesota going on the road,
- 39:59Speaker 1: getting a win. They showed a lot going to South Carolina,
- 40:01Speaker 1: getting behind and coming back. They gave up the lead
- 40:04Speaker 1: against Missouri. I want to see them do it at home.
- 40:06Speaker 1: This is one of those Texas games from last year,
- 40:08Speaker 1: Tennessee games. I want to see them close it. I
- 40:11Speaker 1: think they can. I think they can. I think Kamario
- 40:14Speaker 1: Taylor is the best quarterback on the field tomorrow. What
- 40:17Speaker 1: do you think of the Alabama waking up at, Or
- 40:20Speaker 1: leaving Tuscaloosa at 7 o'clock to drive over there. Talked
- 40:22Speaker 1: about that earlier. I think that could be– that's going
- 40:24Speaker 1: to be interesting to watch. If Bama comes out sluggish
- 40:27Speaker 1: and falls behind early, I think you have to question that.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Does he ever give a reason why he wanted to
- 40:31Speaker 2: do it?
- 40:32Speaker 1: No, I mean, just I think because rationale– for them, rationale,
- 40:35Speaker 1: they're an hour and 20 minutes, whatever it is. And
- 40:38Speaker 1: there's no– but Alabama has always stayed in Columbus.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Always.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:42Speaker 1: And drove in. So that's going to be interesting to see.
- 40:45Speaker 1: their day will start at like 3 a.m. I was
- 40:46Speaker 1: about to say, because they get up, they feed them breakfast,
- 40:48Speaker 1: and if they're leaving at 7, get to the locker room,
- 40:51Speaker 1: those players are getting up at 3 a.m. So they're
- 40:53Speaker 1: going to be up eight hours. I mean, that's all
- 40:56Speaker 1: I stay up a day, and I'm in bed, man.
- 40:58Speaker 1: I'm ready to go to bed. So, well, we appreciate
- 41:01Speaker 1: you today. Chris, any other games real quick? We've got
- 41:03Speaker 1: about 30 seconds that you're looking at tomorrow.
- 41:06Speaker 2: The Auburn-Tennessee?
- 41:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Auburn-Tennessee.
- 41:09Speaker 1: I think that's going to be a good one.
- 41:10Speaker 2: I think it is, too. I think Tennessee.
- 41:11Speaker 5: Tennessee.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Texas you don't know.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Really what they i mean they're so up and down
- 41:17Speaker 1: but i thought tennessee played well against an impact great
- 41:21Speaker 1: but they played well uh i.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Think tennessee might shock a few.
- 41:24Speaker 1: People i got auburn winning i got a one of
- 41:26Speaker 1: their win it's time for auburn to play a full
- 41:29Speaker 1: ball game and uh alex scholars to coach a full
- 41:31Speaker 1: ball game and and byron brown to have a game
- 41:34Speaker 1: real quickly is there anything else out here uh that
- 41:38Speaker 1: we have missed i don't think of course a big
- 41:40Speaker 1: big night of high school football uh we'll have uh
- 41:43Speaker 1: MRA football right here on 105.9. Brandon on 106.3 Northwest.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Their opponent on 103.5. I believe Clinton is off tonight.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Thanks to Chris. Thanks to Beef. Thanks to Esparza. Thanks
