- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:10Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes sixty seven through six ' sixty
- 0:15Speaker 1: nine Nice, the Admiral's decision, Fujita versus do Flamingo, The
- 0:21Speaker 1: final round starts, Diamante, the hero shows up, and a
- 0:26Speaker 1: moving castle. The top executive Peka rises up. In these episodes,
- 0:34Speaker 1: we get more of Senor Pink, which is really my
- 0:37Speaker 1: primary interest and focus, but also we get to actually
- 0:44Speaker 1: like meet this child in a way that doesn't change
- 0:49Speaker 1: anything that I think of her, or change anything about
- 0:52Speaker 1: the way I believe she would react if people offered
- 0:54Speaker 1: her grapes to stop doing what she's doing. Welcome to
- 1:00Speaker 1: spoil Me, Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode,
- 1:25Speaker 1: and Florian is here in the chat with me, so
- 1:28Speaker 1: that is delightful and appreciated. So yeah, these episodes not
- 1:34Speaker 1: quite as good as the last ones, because I just
- 1:36Speaker 1: don't see that any episode is going to be able
- 1:38Speaker 1: to top the introduction of Senor Pink. I feel like
- 1:42Speaker 1: that's kind of you're just not really I classify that
- 1:47Speaker 1: in like my top two moments of this entire show.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So I am not going to hold my breath that
- 1:54Speaker 1: anything is going to beat that. But it's still because
- 1:59Speaker 1: he's still part of the storyline, and because we I
- 2:05Speaker 1: won't say we spend like less time in the arena necessarily,
- 2:10Speaker 1: but what happens in the arena gets mixed up a bit.
- 2:13Speaker 1: You know. It's just been very much like, oh, this
- 2:16Speaker 1: block is all fighting each other in a battle royale,
- 2:19Speaker 1: and its names and names and names and people doing
- 2:22Speaker 1: wild things, and inevitably the person that you know is
- 2:24Speaker 1: probably going to be the one left standing is the
- 2:26Speaker 1: one left standing. And there's just there are very few
- 2:29Speaker 1: surprises or there's just not much interest for me in
- 2:33Speaker 1: that plot, and even like the individual battles are not
- 2:37Speaker 1: compelling enough for that to change. But now that we
- 2:41Speaker 1: have progressed to a point where we have got our
- 2:43Speaker 1: mains and we are we are making the retrieval of
- 2:50Speaker 1: the actual fruit the goal. This is not what I
- 2:55Speaker 1: was expecting. I thought we were gonna get something that
- 2:57Speaker 1: was a little bit more maybe like an obstacle course
- 3:06Speaker 1: sort of thing, or like an American gladiator where you
- 3:10Speaker 1: take two people and put them against each other, but
- 3:12Speaker 1: you put them on a weird playing ground. That has
- 3:18Speaker 1: bizarre things happening with it. You know, I recognize that
- 3:24Speaker 1: in this universe, manipulating the surroundings probably is less like
- 3:29Speaker 1: what keeps coming to mind for me. And I've brought
- 3:32Speaker 1: up the series Cradle before, but there is a tournament
- 3:35Speaker 1: in Cradle where eventually people are paired up against each
- 3:38Speaker 1: other and due to the fact that they use a
- 3:40Speaker 1: type of magic that draws manna from the air around them,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and that is usually a type of manna based on
- 3:49Speaker 1: like whether it's hot or cold, whether there's sun or
- 3:54Speaker 1: fire or wind or whatever, the location that they fight in,
- 4:01Speaker 1: the actual arena itself is magically adjusted to contain more
- 4:06Speaker 1: of whatever manna it is they use, and that gives
- 4:09Speaker 1: them a supply that allows them to fight at like
- 4:12Speaker 1: peak level. And you know, obviously in this universe that's
- 4:18Speaker 1: not how the magic works. But I thought that there
- 4:22Speaker 1: might be something that we did to sort of throw
- 4:27Speaker 1: a wrench in the works for players that have a
- 4:30Speaker 1: particular type of advantage, you know, players who are really
- 4:35Speaker 1: really good at a For example, if I were going
- 4:39Speaker 1: to really fuck up Rebecca, all I'd have to do
- 4:42Speaker 1: is make it so there's no water to fall into
- 4:44Speaker 1: and then what is she going to do? Her entire
- 4:47Speaker 1: attack focuses on deflecting until people lose their footing and fall. Well,
- 4:52Speaker 1: if you don't have that, now what you know if
- 4:56Speaker 1: you've got a who else has made Because we obviously
- 5:02Speaker 1: would have had Loofy, but now we have Sabo, And
- 5:07Speaker 1: I don't know what Sabo's like current fighting style is
- 5:12Speaker 1: and what his advantages are, so I can't tell how
- 5:17Speaker 1: I'm really wondering if people are going to start to
- 5:19Speaker 1: wonder what the hell's going on with his fighting because
- 5:21Speaker 1: it's going to be so different. But anyway, the changeup
- 5:27Speaker 1: turns out to be we have a bigger, batter tougher
- 5:33Speaker 1: fighting fish, which frankly, the fighting fish thing, it's sort
- 5:41Speaker 1: of funny because, like I will admit that when the
- 5:44Speaker 1: bigger batter fish shows up and it swims by the
- 5:48Speaker 1: smaller fish and you get to see just how big
- 5:50Speaker 1: it is in comparison to them, I did have a
- 5:56Speaker 1: moment of like, oh shit, But I have to admit
- 6:02Speaker 1: that the fighting fish thing is so difficult for me
- 6:07Speaker 1: to fully like be intimidated by, even though I know
- 6:12Speaker 1: that they are a real threat, you know, like we
- 6:15Speaker 1: have seen sea kings and all manner of sea monster though,
- 6:19Speaker 1: and I think that's what's sort of influencing me, is
- 6:22Speaker 1: just that it's hard for me to be impressed in
- 6:26Speaker 1: this arena full of like other fighters and knowing what
- 6:31Speaker 1: other monsters are out there, and it's just sort of
- 6:34Speaker 1: working against itself in a weird way. But the fact
- 6:38Speaker 1: is that the flame flame fruit has been stored on
- 6:44Speaker 1: this animal's back, and the assignment, should they choose to
- 6:51Speaker 1: accept it, is to go and get the fruit off
- 6:56Speaker 1: its back, and the first person to do it is
- 6:59Speaker 1: the winner. And I was both very gratified at the
- 7:04Speaker 1: fact that we don't have another like round to go through.
- 7:07Speaker 1: This is it. Whoever gets the flame flame fruit here
- 7:10Speaker 1: evidently is going to be the winner. So I thought
- 7:13Speaker 1: we were going to have a whole nother series of rounds,
- 7:16Speaker 1: Like I said that it was going to be a
- 7:18Speaker 1: one on one thing, and we were, you know. So
- 7:22Speaker 1: it was very remarkable to me that we jumped from
- 7:26Speaker 1: these battle royales with like thirty contestants per block and
- 7:31Speaker 1: then immediately into no, but it's about to be over
- 7:35Speaker 1: like after this. I just wasn't ready for that at all.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So yeah, this this the fact that they have changed
- 7:47Speaker 1: things up this way at least has made the tournament
- 7:51Speaker 1: a little bit. I don't even know if I want
- 7:54Speaker 1: to say it made it more interesting exactly, but it's
- 7:57Speaker 1: at least changed things up enough for now that I
- 8:00Speaker 1: am not just sort of like, oh whatever every time
- 8:02Speaker 1: you go back to the tournament, which is how I
- 8:05Speaker 1: have felt about it, and I'm you know, I do
- 8:11Speaker 1: the thing guys where I jump all over the place.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I'm just going to continue with that. But the second
- 8:20Speaker 1: episode is the one where Diamante shows up, and I
- 8:26Speaker 1: don't there's very much like a Stephen Tyler sort of
- 8:31Speaker 1: vibe to him also, though, And I know that some
- 8:36Speaker 1: of you are going to get who I'm talking about,
- 8:37Speaker 1: and some of you may just be like, what do
- 8:41Speaker 1: you guys remember? And it took me a while to
- 8:44Speaker 1: like clock exactly who this guy kept making me think of,
- 8:49Speaker 1: do you guys remember on January sixth, when insurrectionists took
- 8:55Speaker 1: over the Capitol building, how there was a young dude
- 9:01Speaker 1: who was actually extremely hot, which was so unfortunate, wearing
- 9:07Speaker 1: like red, white and blue face paint and this weird
- 9:12Speaker 1: antlered sort of fur hat. And I think he was
- 9:19Speaker 1: either shirtless or he was just wearing like a vest
- 9:23Speaker 1: and no shirt, something like this. It was a guy
- 9:26Speaker 1: who was like some kind of influencer, like a right
- 9:30Speaker 1: wing influencer, and I don't remember his name, but people
- 9:35Speaker 1: who were watching the footage knew who he was right away.
- 9:38Speaker 1: He was well known enough, and I realized finally, like,
- 9:45Speaker 1: oh my god, that's who I keep thinking of. Florian says,
- 9:49Speaker 1: I know who you mean, and I see what you mean.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I can see it, okay, yeah, because it was just distracting.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I was just like, why is this guy reminding me
- 9:57Speaker 1: of somebody? And like, I don't one was January sixth?
- 10:02Speaker 1: Was that twenty twenty, twenty twenty one? It was after
- 10:08Speaker 1: the twenty twenty election, right, so twenty twenty one. I
- 10:11Speaker 1: think I anticipate that these episodes were written long long
- 10:18Speaker 1: before that. So I'm not trying to say that this
- 10:20Speaker 1: is an actual thing that he was attempting to reference,
- 10:25Speaker 1: because you know, there's been plenty of that. It's very
- 10:29Speaker 1: clear that Oda is taking inspiration a lot of the
- 10:32Speaker 1: time from real life people or classical characters from literature
- 10:38Speaker 1: or whatever. He comes up with stuff from all over
- 10:43Speaker 1: the place. That it's he's not trying to hide the
- 10:45Speaker 1: fact that they are inspired by a thing, but I
- 10:48Speaker 1: don't think that's what he was doing here at all. However,
- 10:52Speaker 1: I am sort of you guys know that the Mick
- 10:55Speaker 1: Jagger thing with the dude who hypnotizes people was feeling
- 11:01Speaker 1: like very on the nose, and this guy's his animation
- 11:06Speaker 1: is similar enough that I started to sort of think
- 11:11Speaker 1: Mick Jagger, and then I was like, no, I feel
- 11:13Speaker 1: like Steven Tyler is more appropriate for this guy. There's
- 11:17Speaker 1: something more bombastic to me about Stephen Tyler than about
- 11:25Speaker 1: Mick Jagger. And I may be wrong about that. People
- 11:28Speaker 1: who know music, well maybe just like girl, oh you're stupid,
- 11:31Speaker 1: shut up, and if so, apologies, But I always picture
- 11:36Speaker 1: Mick Jagger just sort of like dancing on stage, but
- 11:40Speaker 1: sort of like in a way that's uh, almost like
- 11:46Speaker 1: an ordinary person just jamming out to music in their apartment.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And Stephen Tyler is the guy who's like bending over
- 11:54Speaker 1: his mic which is tipped all the way backward and
- 11:57Speaker 1: almost touching the floor and he's making love too on
- 12:00Speaker 1: the stage kind of thing. So the way that Diamante
- 12:04Speaker 1: comes out, it's that combined with what he's animated to
- 12:09Speaker 1: look like. That was giving Steven Tyler so strongly to me,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and it's it's actually, you know, it's one of those
- 12:19Speaker 1: moments that is very clearly been stretched out in order
- 12:24Speaker 1: to fill time in the episode. But the rock music
- 12:30Speaker 1: that they play at that moment is pretty solid actually,
- 12:35Speaker 1: and the people are responding to him so positively that
- 12:40Speaker 1: it helps carry it a lot of the way. So
- 12:45Speaker 1: I I you know, Demante has frequently been sort of like,
- 12:48Speaker 1: you're right, I'm a genius, and I don't know if
- 12:52Speaker 1: that is also something to do with Steven Tyler, but
- 12:54Speaker 1: if he is somebody that it turns out, needed constant
- 12:57Speaker 1: validation from people, it would be very fun to find
- 13:00Speaker 1: that out. And he is approached. There's a bunch of
- 13:06Speaker 1: dudes who were knocked out of the previous round and
- 13:11Speaker 1: they are ready to storm the stage, so to speak,
- 13:16Speaker 1: out of rage because they don't believe they really lost
- 13:21Speaker 1: against Rebecca. They think that there was some chicanery, there
- 13:26Speaker 1: were some shenanigans, and it was like, I was genuinely
- 13:33Speaker 1: surprised that there is anything set up to allow them
- 13:36Speaker 1: to come onto the stage like this. There's no guards,
- 13:39Speaker 1: there's no anybody, And eventually Diamante does his thing and
- 13:45Speaker 1: you guys. I'm sorry, remind me what the fruit is called?
- 13:51Speaker 1: Is it ripple ripple fruit? It turns out that he
- 13:56Speaker 1: can make basically any surface wobble and wave as if
- 14:04Speaker 1: it were made of fabric. The way that he puts
- 14:08Speaker 1: it is like I can turn anything into a flag.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I think is the way he says it. And I
- 14:17Speaker 1: am going to I'm going to reserve judgment on this
- 14:20Speaker 1: because while he was able to deal with these guys,
- 14:26Speaker 1: it turns out that his cloak is a piece of
- 14:31Speaker 1: like solid steel, but it just looks like a rippling
- 14:35Speaker 1: regular cloak because of his power. I couldn't help even
- 14:40Speaker 1: though he does deal with these dudes, I couldn't help
- 14:43Speaker 1: feeling like this is kind of lame. And when I
- 14:47Speaker 1: say I'm going to reserve judgment, I mean that I
- 14:52Speaker 1: have a suspicion this could be a power that's actually
- 14:58Speaker 1: really really versatile and you but I don't have the
- 15:05Speaker 1: the or not that I don't have the imagination, but
- 15:07Speaker 1: that I have not stopped and like brainstormed what you
- 15:11Speaker 1: could do with this if I'm gonna try to, what
- 15:15Speaker 1: I keep sort of coming up with is like you
- 15:18Speaker 1: could if your enemy is like standing on a surface
- 15:22Speaker 1: you could maybe make the surface wavy and difficult for
- 15:26Speaker 1: them to stand on, or you could make their sword
- 15:29Speaker 1: wavy so that it doesn't like hit you the same way.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Or you can make your own sword wave so that
- 15:35Speaker 1: they're trying to guard against it, and it like manages
- 15:38Speaker 1: to get around their defenses in a way they didn't anticipate.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Like really like stopping to think about it. As much
- 15:48Speaker 1: as my first reaction was sort of oh my god,
- 15:51Speaker 1: really whatever, I have to admit that when you come
- 15:57Speaker 1: down to it, what this power does is it takes
- 16:01Speaker 1: a fundamental stability that we all take for granted and
- 16:07Speaker 1: depend on and undoes it, which probably is deceptively effective.
- 16:15Speaker 1: When you really stop and think about how you would
- 16:18Speaker 1: react to that, I feel like, yeah, I could see
- 16:22Speaker 1: this being If not, it depends who you're dealing with,
- 16:27Speaker 1: how adaptable they are with their power is if they
- 16:30Speaker 1: have one, Like, there's all kinds of mitigating factors here
- 16:32Speaker 1: that would change how folks respond and whether or not
- 16:37Speaker 1: you be able to get one over on them. But
- 16:42Speaker 1: something as basic as like my sword or fabric reacts
- 16:47Speaker 1: this way and now it's not doing that, Yeah, that
- 16:52Speaker 1: would probably if it didn't, Like I'm trying to think
- 16:54Speaker 1: if I were coping with somebody like that, if setting
- 16:58Speaker 1: aside fighting, just the kind of anxiety that I would
- 17:02Speaker 1: wind up having because things weren't reacting the way that
- 17:05Speaker 1: I expected them to would probably be worth something, you know.
- 17:12Speaker 1: So Okay, I still think it's a little bit of
- 17:18Speaker 1: a lame power like in terms of the way it
- 17:25Speaker 1: seems upfront, but I admit, probably it's gonna be really
- 17:32Speaker 1: effective and difficult. I think it Probably all of this
- 17:39Speaker 1: is going to very much depend on how much imagination
- 17:44Speaker 1: he uses when he is utilizing his power in a fight,
- 17:51Speaker 1: because this is something that's sort of difficult to predict
- 17:56Speaker 1: with this show, where there'll be something that revealed and
- 18:00Speaker 1: I will really expect it to be used in xyz way,
- 18:06Speaker 1: and then it turns out that I was the only
- 18:08Speaker 1: one who thought that and the author had no interest
- 18:10Speaker 1: and he decided to go in a totally different direction
- 18:12Speaker 1: with it, and I will kind of be left standing
- 18:16Speaker 1: there like, oh, I mean this is cool too, you know.
- 18:21Speaker 1: And so I'm wondering if the ideas that I just
- 18:27Speaker 1: came up with for it, if we're even going to
- 18:30Speaker 1: be doing anything like that. These are ideas that I
- 18:32Speaker 1: think could be cool and intimidating, but it may not
- 18:36Speaker 1: be how he wants to play this at all. Florian says,
- 18:40Speaker 1: I think of it as the flap Flap Fruit, but
- 18:43Speaker 1: that's not the name. Oh yeah, I don't know. I
- 18:49Speaker 1: don't think is he on your character list. I don't
- 18:52Speaker 1: feel like I saw him there last time, but I'm
- 18:54Speaker 1: gonna go check anyway. So anyway, this dude does not
- 19:00Speaker 1: take kindly to the fact that these men have decided
- 19:03Speaker 1: that they are going to be sore losers, and he
- 19:07Speaker 1: calls them sore losers in front of everybody, and it's
- 19:11Speaker 1: just like bruhs, nobody wants to hear it. You're not
- 19:15Speaker 1: going to disrupt our shit by trying to mess with
- 19:19Speaker 1: the results of this battle. And he uses his cape
- 19:25Speaker 1: to send them packing, which I recognize that he has
- 19:29Speaker 1: an ability and Rebecca doesn't. But the fact that it
- 19:33Speaker 1: was so easy to send them packing is truly a
- 19:39Speaker 1: testament to how much they were beaten by Rebecca. I mean,
- 19:44Speaker 1: I don't know if these guys were actually beaten by her,
- 19:48Speaker 1: or if it is that they were what's the word
- 19:51Speaker 1: I want? If they were just like you know, people
- 19:54Speaker 1: who were victimized by the madness that comes over Cavendish,
- 19:59Speaker 1: but it very much feels for me like either way,
- 20:06Speaker 1: how easily you were trounced in this moment is evidence
- 20:09Speaker 1: in my opinion that you got very fairly kicked out
- 20:14Speaker 1: of the competition and don't deserve to be here. And
- 20:18Speaker 1: I know that maybe I'm being a little bit harsh,
- 20:20Speaker 1: but I stand by it. So anyway, I'm sorry, I'm
- 20:26Speaker 1: all over the place here, but I'm just trying to
- 20:28Speaker 1: like kind of hit the highlights of the stuff that
- 20:30Speaker 1: I am the most riveted by, because we jump all
- 20:36Speaker 1: over the place, and it can be it's deceptive with
- 20:41Speaker 1: the way that I cover things how difficult and tricky
- 20:46Speaker 1: it is for me to make sure that I say
- 20:49Speaker 1: what I would like to. In addition to covering just
- 20:53Speaker 1: the plot beats of the episode, there are plenty of
- 20:57Speaker 1: things that I can cover in just this. This is
- 21:00Speaker 1: the summary of what happens here. But I don't feel
- 21:04Speaker 1: like you guys are really here as much for the
- 21:07Speaker 1: flat out summary as you are for my reaction to
- 21:11Speaker 1: what happened and how I feel about it, And I
- 21:17Speaker 1: don't like there are plenty of times where the plot
- 21:23Speaker 1: itself is much less compelling than the introduction of a
- 21:27Speaker 1: new character or a new power and all of the
- 21:30Speaker 1: potential that that brings with it, and it becomes more
- 21:33Speaker 1: interesting to sort of consider how this could be implemented
- 21:38Speaker 1: or whether this person is going to be somebody that
- 21:40Speaker 1: goes up against one of our guys. That's what I
- 21:42Speaker 1: keep thinking about with with Rebecca is like she really
- 21:53Speaker 1: I can't help, but like stand by what I said
- 21:55Speaker 1: before about the fact that all it is she can
- 21:58Speaker 1: do seems to be defending until people lose their footing,
- 22:03Speaker 1: And I don't know what, if anybody she can go
- 22:09Speaker 1: up against and really truly like win a fight. So
- 22:13Speaker 1: I've got my eye out on that a little bit.
- 22:16Speaker 1: And somebody like Diamante and who I would want him
- 22:20Speaker 1: to be paired against if I were going to if
- 22:25Speaker 1: I were going to pick one of the straw hats
- 22:26Speaker 1: specifically and be like, Okay, here's somebody who this power
- 22:31Speaker 1: would be really amusing to watch fighting, I think I
- 22:37Speaker 1: would have to go with Zorro. I think Zorro because
- 22:47Speaker 1: he would be so angry. I think that's a big
- 22:50Speaker 1: part of it for me, is that the idea of
- 22:53Speaker 1: matter just not obeying the laws of nature and physics
- 22:58Speaker 1: I think he would become very quickly enraged by this,
- 23:01Speaker 1: and that it would be like he would start to
- 23:04Speaker 1: lose his temper just because there's no way to predict
- 23:08Speaker 1: what this guy is going to do it too, I'm
- 23:11Speaker 1: wondering if there are limitations to it, if there's like
- 23:14Speaker 1: can he just reach across and do this to your
- 23:17Speaker 1: own clothing even though he isn't that close to you.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Is there a proximity that you need to be within.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Does he need to be touching you or have touched
- 23:25Speaker 1: you at some point, like you know, with the various powers,
- 23:32Speaker 1: you had to actually lay your hand on somebody. Or
- 23:35Speaker 1: I think with Robin it's like she has to be
- 23:37Speaker 1: able to see the place where her arms are coming
- 23:41Speaker 1: out of from where she's standing, something like that. So
- 23:46Speaker 1: I think, yeah, if I were going to pick somebody
- 23:48Speaker 1: for him to go up against, I think Sorrow's the
- 23:52Speaker 1: one would that it would be the most fun. But
- 23:56Speaker 1: I think the person it would be most effective against
- 23:59Speaker 1: would have to be Usop because Usap works so much
- 24:05Speaker 1: with props. You know, he has so many objects that
- 24:09Speaker 1: he uses to fight with. He is not a physical fighter.
- 24:12Speaker 1: He is somebody who comes prepared and has a bunch
- 24:16Speaker 1: of toys and gadgets up his sleeve, and if you
- 24:20Speaker 1: can affect those, you're basically rendering him completely powerless. And
- 24:27Speaker 1: I'm not even sure if this would work the same way,
- 24:30Speaker 1: but it just had me thinking, you know, and it's
- 24:34Speaker 1: tough because Deamonte seems like such a showman. I'm not
- 24:36Speaker 1: even sure exactly how much fighting he cares to do,
- 24:40Speaker 1: so this may be irrelevant, but I like to think
- 24:42Speaker 1: about this stuff. So Rebecca, now that we are like
- 24:49Speaker 1: getting ready to go back into the arena with the
- 24:52Speaker 1: people who have actually made it this far, she runs
- 24:59Speaker 1: into to Sabo and of course from Afar. She says, oh,
- 25:08Speaker 1: it's Lucy, but I think she she knows he's Loofy,
- 25:11Speaker 1: right he is? Is his real name with her? I
- 25:13Speaker 1: can't remember, but anyway, she realizes very quickly that like
- 25:18Speaker 1: the scar on his chest is not quite bright, and
- 25:22Speaker 1: there's just a bunch of little giveaways. And I think
- 25:25Speaker 1: he's also a bit taller than Loofy, but I could
- 25:29Speaker 1: be wrong about that. And he doesn't actually explain who
- 25:36Speaker 1: he is, but he says that he is like approved,
- 25:42Speaker 1: you know, I have been sent here by him. I
- 25:45Speaker 1: know your history and I'll explain things later. It's so
- 25:49Speaker 1: funny how fucking uppity Bartolomeo gets he like initially she's
- 25:57Speaker 1: just like, you're not Loofy, who are you? And bart
- 25:59Speaker 1: Lomeo like, how dare you speak to him? Oh my god,
- 26:04Speaker 1: Sabo has to be like it's okay, she's a friend.
- 26:07Speaker 1: He told me that she was a friend, like, chill out, bro.
- 26:11Speaker 1: But it is very funny how protective he is. I
- 26:17Speaker 1: there are some people who would behave this way because
- 26:21Speaker 1: they are self important and they just want somebody to
- 26:25Speaker 1: feel like they can attach themselves to to increase their
- 26:30Speaker 1: own importance. But I really like the fact that we
- 26:34Speaker 1: know with Bartielomeo, it's purely because he cares this much
- 26:40Speaker 1: about the straw Hats and Loofy that he is this protective.
- 26:43Speaker 1: It really isn't attached to his own ego at all.
- 26:47Speaker 1: It's like there's pride there for the fact that he is,
- 26:52Speaker 1: you know, like involved with them and being trusted to
- 26:56Speaker 1: do something for Loofy. So I'm not setting that aside completely,
- 27:02Speaker 1: but the way he is behaving, there's like a purity
- 27:07Speaker 1: of motivation and wholesomeness to it, even though he's very
- 27:11Speaker 1: obnoxious that I cannot help but really think is charming
- 27:17Speaker 1: and delightful and also, guys, I'm just gonna say it,
- 27:24Speaker 1: Barto DeMeo just could get it. Like I've been eyeing
- 27:28Speaker 1: him this whole time, and I finally decided this episode,
- 27:32Speaker 1: I was like, no, you know what, Like, he's just
- 27:34Speaker 1: straight up hot. I think it took a little while
- 27:37Speaker 1: for me to like fully come around and be like, yeah,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I think he's hot, but because I liked his look.
- 27:46Speaker 1: But liking somebody's look and thinking they're hot aren't always
- 27:51Speaker 1: the same thing. But I'm pretty sure that's where I'm
- 27:54Speaker 1: at right now, and I have to assume, because this
- 27:59Speaker 1: is how it often works for me, that the discovery
- 28:03Speaker 1: of the type of person he is has been a
- 28:05Speaker 1: major factor in him turning the corner and becoming hot.
- 28:09Speaker 1: To me, I am someone for whom a person cannot
- 28:13Speaker 1: remain attractive after I find out that they are not
- 28:16Speaker 1: a good person. It's just it's not something that's conscious.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I don't like make myself stop seeing them as hot.
- 28:24Speaker 1: It's just the whole reaction that I have to seeing
- 28:28Speaker 1: their face changes, because now I associate their face very
- 28:33Speaker 1: strongly with bad things and people being like suffering because
- 28:38Speaker 1: of them, and because Bartolomeo has just proven to be
- 28:44Speaker 1: more and more delightful every episode. I think that's why
- 28:48Speaker 1: I'm like full on now, like no, I think that
- 28:51Speaker 1: he could get it. Yeah, let's go with that. So
- 28:56Speaker 1: I'm going to back up a little bit and talk
- 28:58Speaker 1: about Violet trying to get Loofy, the Samurai, and Zoro
- 29:07Speaker 1: into the palace. You guys, there's such a variety of
- 29:16Speaker 1: things going on here. She has to kind of, like,
- 29:19Speaker 1: you know, prove to them that she is on their side,
- 29:22Speaker 1: which does not take very long, thank goodness. And oh
- 29:27Speaker 1: and Wika, I keep forgetting Wika. I'm so sorry, Wicka,
- 29:30Speaker 1: because honestly, it's just because oftentimes you are hidden inside
- 29:35Speaker 1: of Zorro's costume, so she literally I can't see her.
- 29:39Speaker 1: But I need to begin to put more respect on
- 29:43Speaker 1: her name because she is the only one here who
- 29:47Speaker 1: has any earthly idea what's going on. Like, now that
- 29:51Speaker 1: Violet's here, we've got somebody with some intelligence, But like
- 29:56Speaker 1: it was, it was not great. Like the Samurai is
- 30:02Speaker 1: the one that's the most logical. I would say Zora
- 30:09Speaker 1: is a great fighter, but he has no sense of direction,
- 30:15Speaker 1: doesn't take direction well, like in both the sense of
- 30:19Speaker 1: physically taking directions but also instructions. Loofy just does what
- 30:25Speaker 1: the fuck he feels like, which we see very much
- 30:28Speaker 1: is still the case later on, and the Samurai tends
- 30:34Speaker 1: to mostly be on like the logic of things, but
- 30:41Speaker 1: he has such strange hang ups or customs or expectations
- 30:46Speaker 1: of people that there are definitely times where I'm just like,
- 30:50Speaker 1: oh my god, this guy. So all of them can
- 30:53Speaker 1: be very tiresome in their own ways, and Wika has
- 30:58Speaker 1: been the one out of all of them that is like, you, guys,
- 31:02Speaker 1: I don't know about this. Y'all aren't exactly inspiring a
- 31:06Speaker 1: ton of confidence here, I really have to admit, And
- 31:11Speaker 1: once Violet shows up at least we have a little
- 31:16Speaker 1: bit of confidence in violate, Like Wika isn't the only one,
- 31:20Speaker 1: but uh, it's it's like not it doesn't really even
- 31:26Speaker 1: matter in the end, as we find out, because Lufy
- 31:30Speaker 1: is just gonna do what the fuck he feels like,
- 31:33Speaker 1: no matter who with logic is around him. So I
- 31:40Speaker 1: feel very badly for everyone caught up in his in
- 31:45Speaker 1: his radius. I suppose this is like you guys know,
- 31:53Speaker 1: I have said this sort of thing before, so I'm
- 31:56Speaker 1: not going to dwell on it, but I just want
- 31:58Speaker 1: to sort of revisit it because I have talked about
- 32:00Speaker 1: it that it's really tough for me to fully understand
- 32:11Speaker 1: Lufy's appeal as a captain when he cares about his people,
- 32:18Speaker 1: and I think that's really the only saving grace for
- 32:22Speaker 1: me is that it's so obvious that he cares, that
- 32:28Speaker 1: he is genuinely invested in their friendship, that you know,
- 32:33Speaker 1: without a doubt, always here is a guy who would
- 32:37Speaker 1: have my back, and that is tough to find. You know,
- 32:40Speaker 1: that is not an easy thing. So I don't want
- 32:43Speaker 1: to pretend that's not valuable or something that especially a
- 32:48Speaker 1: lot of people who don't have like reliable family in
- 32:51Speaker 1: their lives as clearly these characters do not. They understand
- 32:55Speaker 1: the value of that. But it's still the way that
- 33:04Speaker 1: he can care about them and what happens to them
- 33:08Speaker 1: as people, but then pretty quickly forget that his actions
- 33:15Speaker 1: have consequences for them as much as anybody. It's really
- 33:21Speaker 1: difficult for me to sort of square that circle sometimes
- 33:26Speaker 1: and not see the fact that he is doing what
- 33:32Speaker 1: he wants without regard to anybody else as him not
- 33:36Speaker 1: caring because this is something that I have coped with
- 33:40Speaker 1: in my life is people who will say that they
- 33:44Speaker 1: give a shit and they will be there for you
- 33:46Speaker 1: in like sort of dire circum circumstances, you know, but
- 33:53Speaker 1: when it comes to everyday stuff that they have to
- 33:56Speaker 1: show up for, they are not great with that. And
- 34:00Speaker 1: it can be difficult to sort of comprehend that you
- 34:05Speaker 1: matter to them, but that you are not I won't
- 34:11Speaker 1: say not worth the effort, but that they don't factor
- 34:16Speaker 1: you into their consideration when they make big decisions, I
- 34:20Speaker 1: guess is really what it comes down to. It's because
- 34:25Speaker 1: I am somebody, and this is the thing for a
- 34:28Speaker 1: lot of women in general, but I am somebody who
- 34:32Speaker 1: factors in the people around me to a degree that's
- 34:35Speaker 1: probably not healthy. I am always thinking about how what
- 34:40Speaker 1: I do is going to affect folks around me. What
- 34:44Speaker 1: it is that those people prioritize what they want versus
- 34:48Speaker 1: what I want, and how to get that for them
- 34:52Speaker 1: while also getting what I want or maybe not and
- 34:55Speaker 1: compromising on that. There's you know, there's just there's a
- 34:59Speaker 1: way that women are raised to make the comfort and
- 35:05Speaker 1: safety of those around us more of a priority than
- 35:09Speaker 1: our own, and so I can't help but be like
- 35:13Speaker 1: offended a little bit sometimes at the way he throws
- 35:17Speaker 1: everybody else's safety into jeopardy without a thought. It's part
- 35:23Speaker 1: of what makes the story go and part of his charm.
- 35:28Speaker 1: But there is a sense for me that I can't
- 35:32Speaker 1: get past of like resentment over this, and just you
- 35:36Speaker 1: aren't the fucking only person in this world, Loofy. These
- 35:41Speaker 1: folks that are with you are trying to like do
- 35:44Speaker 1: something good and survive it, and you really are acting
- 35:48Speaker 1: like you don't care if they do or not. And
- 35:50Speaker 1: I know that you do care. We have seen it,
- 35:53Speaker 1: so I'm not saying he doesn't, not really, but actions
- 35:58Speaker 1: speak louder than words, and it's like he's over here
- 36:02Speaker 1: willing to sacrifice everything in order to rescue people. But
- 36:07Speaker 1: sometimes I can't help but feel like they wouldn't require
- 36:10Speaker 1: rescue at all if you had fought for a second
- 36:13Speaker 1: before you did anything. And it's it just kind of
- 36:18Speaker 1: gets to me because like, eventually we reach a point
- 36:25Speaker 1: in this where we're trying to sneak up to the
- 36:29Speaker 1: area where do Flamingo is and Lufy fully throws caution
- 36:34Speaker 1: to the wind and just jumps into a fight with
- 36:37Speaker 1: all of the guards outside this certain area and doesn't
- 36:41Speaker 1: listen to the fact that they had a different plan
- 36:43Speaker 1: that was meant to be more sneaky, and really it
- 36:47Speaker 1: seems like what he thinks the problem is is that
- 36:49Speaker 1: the door is closed. So once he's knocked everybody out
- 36:52Speaker 1: and he can just open the door, now we're good.
- 36:55Speaker 1: And they have to be like, that wasn't the problem, bruh.
- 37:00Speaker 1: And that leads to a pretty funny sequence where Do
- 37:06Speaker 1: Flamingo is hearing from his guards that Lufy is here,
- 37:10Speaker 1: but Do Flamingo is watching the fights in the arena
- 37:13Speaker 1: and is seeing what he thinks is Lufy fighting in
- 37:17Speaker 1: the arena and is just like, wait, hold on, what
- 37:21Speaker 1: And there's a woman who says something like he's he's
- 37:27Speaker 1: in disguise, sure, but it's sloppy, like that's definitely him.
- 37:33Speaker 1: And meanwhile all of the guards are like, no, no, no,
- 37:36Speaker 1: I promise that is definitely Loofy. That is running down
- 37:40Speaker 1: our hallway right now, and our guys get stopped by
- 37:49Speaker 1: a man made of stone. He ate the stone stone fruit.
- 37:57Speaker 1: This is such a huge power that it's hard for
- 38:00Speaker 1: me to fully wrap my head around it. I'm gonna
- 38:03Speaker 1: be honest, it's so funny too, because there's another series
- 38:07Speaker 1: that I've been covering called Bastin, written by Phil Tucker.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I think his last name is Tucker, and it's great.
- 38:14Speaker 1: It's really really good. It's got a very similar energy
- 38:17Speaker 1: to Cradle, but it's more adult to me. Cradle has
- 38:21Speaker 1: a sort of like teen quality that I had loved
- 38:25Speaker 1: while I was reading it, for sure, but there are
- 38:28Speaker 1: certainly moments that it feels like we could have gotten
- 38:32Speaker 1: a little heavier and didn't. And Bashen is a lot
- 38:35Speaker 1: more willing to go there at times, and the characters
- 38:40Speaker 1: have a bit more depth due to that, So I
- 38:42Speaker 1: recommend it. But there is a character in that who
- 38:46Speaker 1: finds out that one of her abilities is that she
- 38:49Speaker 1: can manipulate Stone, and everybody is so pissed because that
- 38:54Speaker 1: is just such a powerful ability to have, and it's like,
- 39:00Speaker 1: it's so rare in this universe for anybody to be
- 39:02Speaker 1: in a place where there isn't Stone to manipulate that.
- 39:05Speaker 1: It feels like she's always armed, you know, in some sense.
- 39:10Speaker 1: And this guy with his ability is he manages to
- 39:14Speaker 1: literally be like the hall that they are in, and
- 39:22Speaker 1: I don't like I would feel so weird about finding
- 39:27Speaker 1: out that I was like walking through a dude. You
- 39:31Speaker 1: know this, the revelation that essentially his entire body is
- 39:40Speaker 1: wrapped around us would be very difficult for me to comprehend.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I think, so the stone stone fruit, I'm I just
- 39:57Speaker 1: it's it's supposed to be that he is able to
- 40:01Speaker 1: control stone turn into stone, right, because this is I'm
- 40:08Speaker 1: so sorry, guys, I always forget this. It's a LOGI
- 40:11Speaker 1: a power that turns you into an animal, and you've
- 40:14Speaker 1: told me this so many times and I always forget.
- 40:17Speaker 1: But he is of the power that can turn you
- 40:22Speaker 1: into like LOUV turns into rubber, and I can't remember
- 40:26Speaker 1: what it's called. So that feels like almost unbeatable, damaging stone.
- 40:39Speaker 1: That's I mean, how do you have how do you
- 40:42Speaker 1: even do that? The vibe here of all of them
- 40:51Speaker 1: in this hallway, and how it takes a second for
- 40:55Speaker 1: them to fully even grasp what's happening because this guy
- 40:58Speaker 1: is so huge. There was something about it too, that
- 41:02Speaker 1: felt very different from other moments in One Piece. There
- 41:05Speaker 1: are so many introductions of new characters and new powers
- 41:09Speaker 1: in one Piece, where we are supposed to be very
- 41:13Speaker 1: overwhelmed and intimidated by somebody, but I don't necessarily feel that,
- 41:23Speaker 1: and I think that they really manage it with this
- 41:27Speaker 1: section because of how the camera has to very slowly
- 41:31Speaker 1: pull back and show us the size of this guy
- 41:35Speaker 1: and how he is taking up so much space here,
- 41:42Speaker 1: and so it's just a continual moment as the camera
- 41:46Speaker 1: pulls back of you going like oh shit, oh shit,
- 41:51Speaker 1: oh my god. You know. And so I think that
- 41:54Speaker 1: in terms of powers, this one is the one that
- 41:58Speaker 1: was the most impressive when I first introduced to it.
- 42:05Speaker 1: So let's see, I'm trying to find the moment here
- 42:10Speaker 1: where Oh oh, I I'm sorry. I keep remembering like
- 42:16Speaker 1: other plot points that I wanted to talk about that
- 42:18Speaker 1: I have not even touched on yet, and I haven't
- 42:22Speaker 1: finished talking about the first thing, so I hesitate to
- 42:26Speaker 1: like jump over to it. But yeah, this, so this
- 42:28Speaker 1: guy is able to control basically the palace is like
- 42:33Speaker 1: alive due to his ability, and he can make the
- 42:40Speaker 1: hallway squeeze to try and crush all of them, and uh,
- 42:48Speaker 1: I just think that's unfair. I just want to go
- 42:50Speaker 1: on record and say I don't feel like that should
- 42:53Speaker 1: be allowed. Let's jump over to the factory and what's
- 43:01Speaker 1: going on with USAP and the little people and Sugar
- 43:04Speaker 1: and all of them. So first of all, I just
- 43:07Speaker 1: want to register how I love that Sugar doesn't like Trouble.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I obviously I don't like Trouble. His voice is extremely annoying,
- 43:18Speaker 1: he has a snot that's always hanging out, which I
- 43:20Speaker 1: always think is just the foulest shit ever, and he
- 43:24Speaker 1: delights in making people suffer, so it seems to me,
- 43:28Speaker 1: and just overall he's a real piece of shit, and
- 43:32Speaker 1: Sugar working with him. I had thought there was going
- 43:35Speaker 1: to be a kind of like weird fatherly affection between
- 43:40Speaker 1: the two of them, but no, she straight up tells
- 43:43Speaker 1: him he's gross, and he basically tells her to shut
- 43:45Speaker 1: the fuck up and go to hell. They do not
- 43:48Speaker 1: like each other, and I have to admit it was
- 43:52Speaker 1: very funny because I just wasn't prepared for their relationship
- 43:56Speaker 1: to really be like that. They just like it feels
- 44:01Speaker 1: like what's happening here with Trouble is that he likes
- 44:05Speaker 1: making people suffer. So he is delighted to be the
- 44:08Speaker 1: one chaperoning the little girl with this power. But if
- 44:13Speaker 1: he had his way, this would be his power. Like
- 44:17Speaker 1: I think he resents the fact that this is not
- 44:20Speaker 1: something that he gets to control, that she is the one,
- 44:23Speaker 1: you know, and she, for her part, she doesn't seem
- 44:31Speaker 1: to like particularly enjoy what she's doing. It just seems
- 44:35Speaker 1: like she is obsessed with grapes, and anybody who gives
- 44:39Speaker 1: her a grape there she'll be and do whatever they
- 44:42Speaker 1: ask as long as she gets to have it. So
- 44:45Speaker 1: I am very hopeful that just by telling her, please
- 44:51Speaker 1: don't ever do this again, we'll give you a lifetime
- 44:54Speaker 1: supply of grapes if you just don't, that she'll be like, yeah,
- 44:57Speaker 1: all right, that's fine, I won't. And what the little
- 45:02Speaker 1: people are attempting to do, and this is interesting to
- 45:04Speaker 1: me because it doesn't feel like it really lines up
- 45:10Speaker 1: with the Sop plan, the original plan, what we were
- 45:16Speaker 1: told was that it was going to be like, oh,
- 45:20Speaker 1: we want to surprise her so badly that she passes out.
- 45:25Speaker 1: But what we're told here is that they have a
- 45:28Speaker 1: spice that is like one of the hottest peppers on
- 45:32Speaker 1: the planet and they plan to sprinkle that onto her grapes,
- 45:37Speaker 1: and that they tried it on some of their own people,
- 45:41Speaker 1: and a bunch of them passed out and a few
- 45:44Speaker 1: of them almost died, and this is related with great glee,
- 45:49Speaker 1: like they think it's kind of hilarious. It seems like,
- 45:53Speaker 1: which is a little ghoulish, but go off, I guess.
- 45:58Speaker 1: And I just don't know if I think putting a
- 46:07Speaker 1: spice on a fruit so that it's so hot that
- 46:12Speaker 1: you pass out really counts as a panic surprise, startlement
- 46:18Speaker 1: type of attack. I don't really feel like that seems
- 46:23Speaker 1: like what we were being led to believe, And I like,
- 46:30Speaker 1: I don't really have a problem with this. It just
- 46:33Speaker 1: feels like we got a very long, like a long
- 46:38Speaker 1: moment spent on the title of the plan, the SOP
- 46:43Speaker 1: like Operation Soop or whatever it's called, and an explanation
- 46:47Speaker 1: of it, and now it kind of feels like none
- 46:51Speaker 1: of that matters or is even relevant anymore. I guess
- 46:55Speaker 1: that the panic is kind of relevant because once you
- 46:58Speaker 1: start having like this incredibly hot food that you weren't expecting,
- 47:04Speaker 1: I could understand feeling panic, but it just doesn't quite
- 47:09Speaker 1: suit for me. And meanwhile, as they are telling us
- 47:14Speaker 1: up what this plan is, he is getting more and
- 47:17Speaker 1: more anxious because none of the little people seem to
- 47:21Speaker 1: be aware of how much their voices carry and they
- 47:24Speaker 1: keep like talking very loudly and cheering for each other,
- 47:29Speaker 1: and it seems like anybody is going to look over
- 47:32Speaker 1: here and be able to notice you guys, like you
- 47:35Speaker 1: are not trying to be on the DL at all.
- 47:37Speaker 1: And you know, Oosap is just a scaredy cat. So
- 47:41Speaker 1: these dudes are They have such total faith in him
- 47:45Speaker 1: that even when he's like, I'll stay back here and
- 47:48Speaker 1: you do it, they think that he's like being a
- 47:49Speaker 1: great commander and not putting himself at risk, and that
- 47:52Speaker 1: he's somehow like engendering them with the strength that they
- 47:59Speaker 1: need to do the thing from afar. They're giving him
- 48:02Speaker 1: like so much credit. And I'm very, very curious to
- 48:09Speaker 1: see how this plan works out because it ends before
- 48:11Speaker 1: we actually do this, and like I said, it just
- 48:15Speaker 1: doesn't feel like it quite fits with the theme of
- 48:17Speaker 1: what we were what I was expecting to see. Also,
- 48:23Speaker 1: I just want to mention that we see Cavendish turned
- 48:27Speaker 1: into a toy, and because Cavendish has this weird personality
- 48:34Speaker 1: thing going on where there's like a being inside him
- 48:37Speaker 1: waiting to come out, I genuinely do not know what
- 48:42Speaker 1: to expect. Is that still going to be possible while
- 48:46Speaker 1: he's in toy form, or is it locked in place
- 48:52Speaker 1: now because of the toy thing, or is it going
- 48:56Speaker 1: to manifest in some other weird way. Or perhaps once
- 49:00Speaker 1: he's turned from being a toy back to a person,
- 49:05Speaker 1: that being will take him over because he'll have passed out.
- 49:09Speaker 1: I don't know, but this just feels very dangerous to me.
- 49:14Speaker 1: And also I was genuinely surprised that the fact he
- 49:22Speaker 1: is no longer remembered by anybody doesn't seem to fuck
- 49:28Speaker 1: him up the way I expected it to. I this
- 49:31Speaker 1: is a guy who lives and breathes for accolades and popularity,
- 49:36Speaker 1: and I really thought that when Treble tells him, nobody
- 49:40Speaker 1: remembers you anymore. I have even forgotten who you were
- 49:43Speaker 1: when you walked in here. I thought Cavendish was gonna
- 49:48Speaker 1: completely lose it, and he kind of doesn't. And I really, like,
- 49:53Speaker 1: I don't know, it just seemed like that's the whole
- 49:55Speaker 1: motivation of his personality. I would have thought a different
- 50:00Speaker 1: than what we get, That's all I'm saying. So there's
- 50:07Speaker 1: one other, Oh, right, of course, Senor Pink. I'm like,
- 50:10Speaker 1: I know there's something else that I had meant to
- 50:12Speaker 1: touch on that I missed so the senior Pink. The
- 50:19Speaker 1: whole way that this this is going down is very
- 50:22Speaker 1: funny because I love how Frankie always kind of says
- 50:26Speaker 1: the thing that I am thinking, and what he says
- 50:31Speaker 1: in this section is just like, yeah, I'm getting bored
- 50:35Speaker 1: over here. Are we going to do anything? He hasn't
- 50:37Speaker 1: been involved in this fight almost at all at this
- 50:40Speaker 1: point because there's so many things going on that he's
- 50:44Speaker 1: just like lokis sitting there waiting for everybody to start
- 50:46Speaker 1: to notice that he's there again. And it's very it's
- 50:52Speaker 1: just very funny. There's the the bunch of the guards
- 50:57Speaker 1: who realize that they can't beat him, start to run
- 51:01Speaker 1: Send your Pink. For some reason, He's brushing his teeth
- 51:05Speaker 1: a lot in this section, at one point with a
- 51:09Speaker 1: single shoebrush, and then later on he's using two at
- 51:13Speaker 1: a time to brush his teeth. Unclear if this is
- 51:17Speaker 1: supposed to be kind of another baby thing, but they
- 51:20Speaker 1: call it a shoebrush in the dub, so I don't
- 51:26Speaker 1: know what to make of this, but yeah, Frankie like
- 51:31Speaker 1: he uses a missile Send your Pink, doesn't like block
- 51:35Speaker 1: it or move or anything, and he like, apparently it
- 51:42Speaker 1: is to save somebody behind him. Now that's allegedly what happened.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I am assuming that is the truth, but he never
- 51:51Speaker 1: really says that was his reasoning. It's just what one
- 51:54Speaker 1: of the soldiers beside him says, which you know how
- 51:59Speaker 1: this is like it's constant with one piece that people
- 52:02Speaker 1: misunderstand what they are seeing in front of their face,
- 52:07Speaker 1: and that battle is like really pretty much still going
- 52:12Speaker 1: on full tilt by the time this all wraps, and
- 52:14Speaker 1: we don't really check in with it again too much.
- 52:19Speaker 1: And then the last thing that I really have to
- 52:20Speaker 1: touch on before I wrapped this episode is the conversation
- 52:26Speaker 1: between do Fla Mingo and Fuji Tora. Also just a
- 52:32Speaker 1: side note, sometimes Lufy has called Dolf Flamingo Dofi, and
- 52:39Speaker 1: in this episode he calls him mingo, and British friends
- 52:46Speaker 1: tell me if I'm wrong about this, I couldn't remember
- 52:50Speaker 1: like a reason why calling him mingo felt so deeply
- 52:55Speaker 1: disrespectful to me. And then I remember that a friend
- 52:59Speaker 1: of mine from Wales, whenever something stank really bad, she
- 53:04Speaker 1: would call it minging, like oh God, it's minging in here,
- 53:08Speaker 1: you know, And I think that's why every time he
- 53:11Speaker 1: calls a mingo I'm just like, Wow, that's that's rude
- 53:14Speaker 1: because I just imagine it as him basically being like, yo,
- 53:18Speaker 1: stinky and I can't remember if I'm if I have
- 53:22Speaker 1: that right that slang, but anyway, so Dofu Mingo like
- 53:33Speaker 1: he he seems to think that, Uh, Fuji Torah is like,
- 53:41Speaker 1: I don't know if on his side is exactly it,
- 53:44Speaker 1: but more like you aren't as easy to fool as
- 53:48Speaker 1: other people, Like there's almost a respect there, and Fuji
- 53:55Speaker 1: Torah is saying basically like I'm not on your side.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I'm not even exactly against you specifically. More of my
- 54:07Speaker 1: interest is about the people and the danger that they
- 54:11Speaker 1: are in as a side effect from what's going on
- 54:14Speaker 1: with everybody around them who has power. Basically, he's like,
- 54:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna stop Loofy from fighting you because that is
- 54:24Speaker 1: going to wreck this place and hurt a lot of people.
- 54:28Speaker 1: And after we get this all settled, what I'm going
- 54:32Speaker 1: to try and do is handle the seven warlords situation,
- 54:36Speaker 1: because I really think that is some horseshit that we
- 54:39Speaker 1: even do things this way. And he knows about the
- 54:47Speaker 1: fact that like do Flamingo took over dress Rosa and
- 54:51Speaker 1: is like if the Seven Warlords thing continues, they are
- 54:56Speaker 1: going to gain more and more power and this is
- 54:58Speaker 1: gonna be what happens to all kinds of places. So
- 55:02Speaker 1: he is essentially seeing Dress Rosa as like a cautionary tale.
- 55:06Speaker 1: And I don't know how much support he has in that.
- 55:09Speaker 1: So much of the Marines, they seem like a lot
- 55:13Speaker 1: of people really dislike this whole seven Warlords situation, but
- 55:18Speaker 1: they just cope with it. And I really wonder if
- 55:21Speaker 1: they did decide to sort of unite in a way,
- 55:24Speaker 1: if it would have an effect. I don't know, but yeah,
- 55:30Speaker 1: Do Flamingo comes after him because, like I guess he
- 55:32Speaker 1: didn't think that anybody knew about how he took over
- 55:36Speaker 1: Dress Rosa. I was surprised because I figured everybody in
- 55:40Speaker 1: the Marines knew because this is the like he is
- 55:44Speaker 1: protected because of the warlord thing and that he is
- 55:47Speaker 1: just sort of allowed to get away with it. But
- 55:50Speaker 1: apparently it's supposed to be a big secret to them
- 55:53Speaker 1: as well. And after let's see Do Flamingo. Yeah, So
- 56:01Speaker 1: he like because he had been sort of mocking Fujiitura
- 56:07Speaker 1: a little bit, there was a sense of very much
- 56:09Speaker 1: not seeing him as much of a threat. You know.
- 56:11Speaker 1: But he comes at him now and is just sort
- 56:14Speaker 1: of like, oh, well, since you know my secrets, I
- 56:18Speaker 1: can't let you walk out of here. And I just
- 56:21Speaker 1: found that funny because like, I wouldn't be too surprised
- 56:24Speaker 1: if he has told other people about that at this point, dofy, Like,
- 56:28Speaker 1: I don't know that killing him is really gonna change
- 56:31Speaker 1: your secret getting out, So we'll see how that works.
- 56:37Speaker 1: And it makes me like Fujiitura a little bit better.
- 56:40Speaker 1: I was just sort of puzzled by him because he
- 56:43Speaker 1: gives the vibe of a good guy, but the fact
- 56:45Speaker 1: that he was like almost seeming to help do Flamingo
- 56:49Speaker 1: kept I kept running up against it, just being like
- 56:52Speaker 1: I don't get it, dude. So now it's beginning to
- 56:55Speaker 1: make a little bit more sense. He's just trying to
- 56:57Speaker 1: sort of keep the peace until bigger batter changes can
- 57:00Speaker 1: be made, which I do respect, and I understand handling
- 57:03Speaker 1: things that way. I don't even think it's like the
- 57:05Speaker 1: wrong way to handle it. It's just like the way
- 57:12Speaker 1: that the and this is gonna be probably a complaint
- 57:17Speaker 1: that I will have in a lot of respects as
- 57:20Speaker 1: the story continues to get bigger, but the Marines will
- 57:25Speaker 1: often just be like, well, there's nothing we can do,
- 57:27Speaker 1: and I'm like, well, our scrappy band of six people,
- 57:30Speaker 1: I know there's more than six of them at this point,
- 57:32Speaker 1: but you know, like they're coming in here and handling shit.
- 57:35Speaker 1: So what the fuck is the point of you? Because
- 57:38Speaker 1: you do jackall and we have you know, them about
- 57:43Speaker 1: to take out sugar and trouble. Who are the ones
- 57:48Speaker 1: making the fucking memories of people disappear and whatnot? And
- 57:53Speaker 1: I feel like that would be where I would start
- 57:56Speaker 1: if I were trying to destabilize. Do flamingo is get
- 57:59Speaker 1: the memories returned to a bunch of folks so that
- 58:02Speaker 1: they start to realize that maybe if these memories had
- 58:05Speaker 1: been disappeared, there are other memories that have been tampered
- 58:08Speaker 1: with or other you know, interpretations of events that may
- 58:11Speaker 1: be untrue. But I guess we'll see. I guess we'll see. Oh,
- 58:16Speaker 1: Florien's zone is animal, Logia is elemental, Thank you Logia.
- 58:20Speaker 1: That's the one I was looking for, and paramesia is
- 58:22Speaker 1: the rest like Robin, okay, thank you Florian. I really
- 58:26Speaker 1: really wish I could remember that. I don't know why
- 58:28Speaker 1: I have such a blank with it anyway. Okay, I
- 58:32Speaker 1: have to wrap this one up, but pretty good three
- 58:35Speaker 1: episodes and we'll just see how much trouble Lufy gets
- 58:40Speaker 1: in again. Oh loofy, why must you? All? Right, folks,
- 58:47Speaker 1: appreciate you all, Thank you Florian for commissioning this one
- 58:50Speaker 1: and for being here in the chat, and until next
- 58:53Speaker 1: time to the loom motherfuckers that was an unspoiled network
- 59:27Speaker 1: past
