- 2:32Speaker 6: j way right, in a Pugs Records kind of way, right,
- 2:35Speaker 6: you know what I mean? And I thought this one
- 2:37Speaker 6: was appropriate at first because when it originally aired in
- 2:40Speaker 6: two thousand and twenty two, Wow, maybe early twenty twenty three,
- 2:47Speaker 6: Jace was coming in hot into the office from a
- 2:51Speaker 6: witty jay strange encounter just out the door.
- 2:54Speaker 3: There is this.
- 2:55Speaker 2: The one where things go into slow motion. It just
- 2:58Speaker 2: might be gay. I understand that something freaky, freaky happened

- 3:04Speaker 7: Time, mate.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Jeez, jeez, Louise, I.
- 3:09Speaker 7: Was I parked my normal part there in sky City.

- 3:16Speaker 2: Queen of the Nile, Queen of the Nile.
- 3:19Speaker 7: She's a.
- 3:21Speaker 2: She's a pretty harsh mistress.
- 3:23Speaker 7: She is the old queen of the Naro. Question about it. Anyway.
- 3:25Speaker 7: So I was up there at the lights there and
- 3:28Speaker 7: I heard.
- 3:28Speaker 2: This, Ah, what was what was it?
- 3:33Speaker 7: That was a woman screaming? Woman? Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 8: You see, I can do all sorts of voices and
- 3:39Speaker 8: accents my languages, and I can never do the female
- 3:43Speaker 8: very well, you know.
- 3:44Speaker 7: But anyway, and so she was looking at.
- 3:51Speaker 8: And I look up to the apartment building there and
- 3:58Speaker 8: there's a window cleaner kid. Oh no, he's totally he's
- 4:01Speaker 8: totally clothed, but he's just he's dangling by one foot
- 4:05Speaker 8: by a rope. And he was about twenty feet up
- 4:08Speaker 8: twenty no, sorry about about twenty stories series.
- 4:14Speaker 7: Crowds are togethered around and he was just dangling by
- 4:16Speaker 7: one screaming his.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Head was screaming like a woman.
- 4:19Speaker 7: No wow, he was more set up.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, how help?
- 4:25Speaker 8: And I sort of looked up on and there was
- 4:26Speaker 8: this crowd and I was like, I don't know what happened.
- 4:28Speaker 7: I was just and I just started sprinting.
- 4:37Speaker 8: My mind just sort of took over and I was
- 4:39Speaker 8: up the stairs, mate.
- 4:41Speaker 6: Do.
- 4:45Speaker 7: Just go fold ted up the stairs, and I reckon,
- 4:48Speaker 7: I reckon.
- 4:49Speaker 8: I did about sort of twenty twenty stories, and about
- 4:51Speaker 8: poor thirty seconds got to where the floor level was.
- 4:56Speaker 8: So you know, I got onto through this door and
- 4:59Speaker 8: there were people making love, and I was, excuse me,
- 5:01Speaker 8: excuse me, emergency, emergency, got out in the balcony and
- 5:05Speaker 8: just leapt before I even thought about it, just leapt,
- 5:08Speaker 8: grabbed hold of the rope, just clung onto the rope,
- 5:11Speaker 8: managed to lift him out. You know what it was like,
- 5:14Speaker 8: lift him up sort of horizontal to me, and you.
- 5:16Speaker 7: Remember what it was like when you were a kid
- 5:18Speaker 7: on a swing and it was static, said the old
- 5:20Speaker 7: archy bag, trusty, trusty, thrusty.
- 5:25Speaker 8: Archy archy And he was on my lap, just thrusty.
- 5:29Speaker 8: Swung us back to the balcony. Mate and fortunately a
- 5:33Speaker 8: little sort of it all turned out okay. And but

- 5:39Speaker 7: Start the afternoon. I can do but path to me,
- 5:42Speaker 7: I've been working out.

- 5:45Speaker 8: Oh he was kind of indifferent, really, Yeah, yeah, he
- 5:47Speaker 8: didn't really seem to care that much.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Yeah, because often those guys will hang from those from
- 5:52Speaker 2: those ropes of their cleaning somewhere that's particularly hard to get.
- 5:56Speaker 7: All right, you think it might have been deliberate.
- 5:59Speaker 8: Actually, I actually when I think about it, actually when
- 6:02Speaker 8: I pull them up and stuff, what there you.
- 6:03Speaker 2: De yeah, doe?
- 6:05Speaker 8: Do you know I just rest my life to save.
- 6:11Speaker 7: You saving me?

- 10:37Speaker 7: Hey, how'd your mother's day go? Mogi?

- 11:04Speaker 2: some bed for me?
- 11:07Speaker 3: She made you breakfast, some bed.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you know because on Sunday, Yeah, usually Sunday is
- 11:14Speaker 2: my day.
- 11:14Speaker 7: Did she bring the paper and the coffee and as well?
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah, paper, so we get the paper, deliver to the house.
- 11:19Speaker 2: We'll get the Yeah. And actually we had some cinnamon
- 11:23Speaker 2: wheels as well. I said, I have a cinnamon wheel.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Thinks She's like, there's only one left? I thought, I
- 11:29Speaker 2: could have that because it's Mother's Days. I'd like the
- 11:33Speaker 2: cinnamon roll, thank you. And it was about actually made
- 11:36Speaker 2: some noises about wanting to go out for dinner something
- 11:40Speaker 2: something something, but I wanted to go and get on
- 11:42Speaker 2: the hammer, which I did.
- 11:43Speaker 7: Yeah, nice, nice, nice. I spoke to my mum too. Actually, God,
- 11:47Speaker 7: she goes on just bleed.
- 11:51Speaker 2: And yeah, kids, and you never visit.
- 11:56Speaker 8: He's deteriorating mentally as well. God knows what she's craping
- 12:00Speaker 8: on about, you know what I mean.
- 12:01Speaker 2: And you broke my check, tend to tune out.
- 12:04Speaker 8: Yeah, and she's forever losing your teeth, you know what
- 12:07Speaker 8: I mean, and caring us like Mum, I don't know
- 12:09Speaker 8: you look down at the other end of the country.
- 12:11Speaker 7: How am I going to find your teeth? You know
- 12:13Speaker 7: what I mean?
- 12:13Speaker 3: Didn't you put.
- 12:15Speaker 7: This is a funny thing. He's even one.
- 12:16Speaker 8: It's like, you know, it's her place isn't safe for
- 12:20Speaker 8: her anymore. She's always breaking her heap and losing her teeth,
- 12:23Speaker 8: and you're falling.
- 12:24Speaker 7: Over and.
- 12:27Speaker 2: House is on the person.
- 12:28Speaker 7: Look, she's living in the.
- 12:29Speaker 8: Family home and it's a shithole and it's two story
- 12:32Speaker 8: as well.
- 12:32Speaker 7: You know what I'm saying just saying, oh, you've got
- 12:36Speaker 7: to move her out. You've got to do this.
- 12:37Speaker 8: Have you seen the price of retirement homes with a
- 12:40Speaker 8: thing about what she's not?
- 12:41Speaker 2: The thing is, I don't so much mind the cost,
- 12:44Speaker 2: you know, because it means she's going to be well
- 12:46Speaker 2: looked after. The problem is every penny spent on her care,
- 12:49Speaker 2: there's a penny out of my inherit exactly.
- 12:52Speaker 8: That is exactly. My point is that all I see
- 12:55Speaker 8: is her bank balance.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Do do do do do do jays?
- 13:01Speaker 7: You know, irritant do doo do doo do doo? Do
- 13:05Speaker 7: some serious bills to pay mode? You got to find
- 13:07Speaker 7: a balance, yeah, totally, you know, and you just you
- 13:11Speaker 7: started doing poos and that stuff. You know.
- 13:13Speaker 8: It's just like, oh, yeah, that's when you need close
- 13:16Speaker 8: family because I get the family in the area to
- 13:19Speaker 8: sort of how do.
- 13:20Speaker 7: You wing me? Twice a year?

- 15:58Speaker 6: And I think Bruce Springsteen fans would love it because
- 16:01Speaker 6: they played Bruce Springsteen music in the movie about Bruce Springsteen.
- 16:05Speaker 5: You see, So is it like a Bohemian Rhapsody situation? Oh,
- 16:08Speaker 5: we're not that bad where you know.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I watched it for the first time.
- 16:12Speaker 5: I loved it because it was on the big screen
- 16:14Speaker 5: and it was Queen and you know, it was awesome.
- 16:16Speaker 5: And then I watched it again and it just was
- 16:19Speaker 5: a bit bad. No offense if you like that film,
- 16:22Speaker 5: by the way, because a lot of people do love but.
- 16:23Speaker 6: Saying off here, you wanted to cause the most defense
- 16:25Speaker 6: possible to people that like that film.
- 16:26Speaker 5: I did say that off here, Yeah, but was it
- 16:29Speaker 5: a bit like that?
- 16:30Speaker 6: I am working on slowly a ranking of all these
- 16:34Speaker 6: biopic movies as I watched them. Rocketman's still my favorite, right,
- 16:37Speaker 6: that's the Oulton John far so far in wa that
- 16:40Speaker 6: was pretty fun, yeap, not as good?
- 16:43Speaker 3: What does that stand for?
- 16:44Speaker 7: Again?
- 16:44Speaker 3: What's that?
- 16:48Speaker 6: And this one I just wanted some more. Man I
- 16:51Speaker 6: thought they showed has struggled a little bit. Obviously, when
- 16:54Speaker 6: you watch a movie, you want some kind of conflict
- 16:56Speaker 6: or something to resolve, or something to fight or something
- 16:58Speaker 6: to overcome. And he did have some stuff that he encountered,
- 17:02Speaker 6: and then it got to the part where he would
- 17:04Speaker 6: overcome them, and then it was like, yeah, that's the movie.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Oh really, So you genuinely just wanted it to finish
- 17:10Speaker 5: better than it did.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I actually have an ending.
- 17:12Speaker 6: I know, I wanted it to I wanted there to
- 17:15Speaker 6: be more to tell. I didn't feel like it was
- 17:17Speaker 6: what was told was beautifully shot. Jeremy Allen White, he's
- 17:21Speaker 6: a great actor. Yeah, I think he kind of went
- 17:23Speaker 6: up and down in terms of his commitment to being
- 17:26Speaker 6: Bruce Springsteen there, but other than that, it.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Just it was just like, Okay, that looks nice.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Well, I watched the clip earlier today on Instagram and
- 17:35Speaker 5: it was Bruce Springsteen reacting.
- 17:37Speaker 3: So what's the name of the actor?
- 17:38Speaker 5: The English actor who was an adolescence, Stephen Graham, Stephen Graham,
- 17:42Speaker 5: who plays Bruce Springsteen's dead and he said he really
- 17:44Speaker 5: captured exactly what my dad was like.
- 17:46Speaker 6: He I mean, Stephen Graham is an incredible actor. I've
- 17:49Speaker 6: watched him for a long time and he was really
- 17:51Speaker 6: good in this. Yeah, it was really really good, and
- 17:53Speaker 6: he was a big part of the thing that Bruce
- 17:55Speaker 6: did have to overcome in the movie, and one of
- 17:58Speaker 6: the more emotional parts. There was just a huge bit
- 18:01Speaker 6: where he went to deal with his problems and then
- 18:03Speaker 6: it was like that's the movie he did it.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Oh wow, yeah, same listen. Still worth a watch, especially
- 18:09Speaker 5: if you're a Springsteen fan.
- 18:10Speaker 3: One hundred percent. I gave it a three point two
- 18:14Speaker 3: five buzzies.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Three point twenty five buzzies out of five. What's the
- 18:17Speaker 5: name of that film? By the way, I don't actually
- 18:18Speaker 5: know the name of it.
- 18:24Speaker 3: The USA Bruce Springsteen the movie.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Right, Okay, I'm on fire, The Bruce Springsteen movie that
- 18:29Speaker 5: is out right now in cinemas, by the way, go

- 24:38Speaker 6: to men, and even before the pit chat that I

- 24:53Speaker 3: so just tune in.
- 24:55Speaker 5: Hey, guys, any idea what board games dogs like when
- 24:58Speaker 5: it's raining? Any idea what board games dogs like when
- 25:05Speaker 5: it's raining?
- 25:10Speaker 3: Yachtsy a dog rolling five dice at once.
- 25:14Speaker 8: Jase, I'm talking about the Yachtzi that's in the sort
- 25:18Speaker 8: of plastic cap.
- 25:21Speaker 2: R Boggle.
- 25:22Speaker 4: You're thinking, yeah, boggle?
- 25:24Speaker 7: Is it boggle? There's also a yachtzy game trivial pursuit.
- 25:28Speaker 7: Trivial pursuit. Ye dog with.
- 25:31Speaker 2: General knowledge, they they're useless, right, Yeah?
- 25:36Speaker 3: I would have said.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Monopoly, Checkers, Chess playing a dog at chess? Good a guys,
- 25:45Speaker 5: My dog keeps getting into the compost. How do I
- 25:48Speaker 5: stop him? A few months ago I found a string
- 25:50Speaker 5: hanging out his ass with a tag on it. So
- 25:51Speaker 5: I pulled it and a pippermint tea bag came out.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Oh my, they're actually happened with Tinker. Oh your dog. Yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 2: she's been getting too the compost up the back and
- 26:00Speaker 2: she had a like string hanging out of her buzz
- 26:05Speaker 2: nasty in this and I pulled it and just kept
- 26:08Speaker 2: on coming. It was like a magician, Like magicians, keep
- 26:13Speaker 2: on keept on Cavion and cam and camon. Then a
- 26:15Speaker 2: size of eleven cheery red Doc Martin boot came out.
- 26:18Speaker 7: Wow.
- 26:19Speaker 8: Yeah, that's amazing because she's a small dog, she can
- 26:22Speaker 8: pack it away.
- 26:23Speaker 10: Man.
- 26:23Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 8: And also you've got to be you've got to be
- 26:26Speaker 8: really conscious to her pulling the cord in that scenario,
- 26:29Speaker 8: you know what I mean, because you can have a
- 26:30Speaker 8: sort of blow up, sort of parachute action going on totally,
- 26:36Speaker 8: or they can just start.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Via question, how do you keep the dog out of
- 26:40Speaker 3: the compost?
- 26:42Speaker 7: Close the door?
- 26:44Speaker 8: And can I just say, by the way, in terms,
- 26:45Speaker 8: that's fatal to a dog. But my I told you
- 26:49Speaker 8: that story about my dog getting in the compost. Took
- 26:51Speaker 8: her to the vet, and the vet made me hold
- 26:53Speaker 8: a tray, gave us some medications she did a big
- 26:56Speaker 8: dog vomb into the tray that I was holding, right,
- 26:59Speaker 8: because that's the only thing they can do is to
- 27:00Speaker 8: get it out of them.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I'm surprised you didn't have to just taken the duvet
- 27:04Speaker 2: off your beer because she loves having a puke on
- 27:05Speaker 2: that as well.
- 27:06Speaker 7: And wheeze and peas.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Did they make you hold the trays?
- 27:11Speaker 7: It was after ours and he made me hold the tray.
- 27:13Speaker 8: I like that actually, And then I had a bit
- 27:15Speaker 8: of a as well.
- 27:19Speaker 5: Get a guys, my dog chewed all the essential rubber
- 27:22Speaker 5: wall lining on my fancy front loader washing machine.
- 27:25Speaker 8: Back paddock, yeah, back paddock, yeah yeah, take her out
- 27:30Speaker 8: of the back paddock.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Hey, guys, does worm cream work for Does worm cream
- 27:36Speaker 5: for dogs work on humans? Asking for a mate?
- 27:39Speaker 3: Cheers Fozzy.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yeah it's good enough, man, it's close enough. It doesn't
- 27:43Speaker 2: quite kill them, but it stuns the bastards.
- 27:47Speaker 8: And look, just on that front, you don't need any
- 27:50Speaker 8: kind of medication for the old human worms. Just get
- 27:53Speaker 8: the torch out, just spread the cheek a little bit
- 27:55Speaker 8: at night, sign them on and they come towards the.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Geeze about a worm Jason tape Nosey, Yeah, yeah, right
- 28:04Speaker 2: at a party action. So what you do is you
- 28:10Speaker 2: got the light, like Ja says it, and there could
- 28:12Speaker 2: be anything. Yes, a torch a headlamp is really good.
- 28:18Speaker 2: It's perfect, but light it can get a bit herey
- 28:20Speaker 2: if you know what I mean. Yeah, and then you
- 28:23Speaker 2: make a noose, a noose, a noose by the nurse, right,
- 28:28Speaker 2: and then you just hang it there. And then when
- 28:30Speaker 2: the tapeworm sticks it's head out, you just web it
- 28:33Speaker 2: out right.
- 28:34Speaker 8: And either way, don't check that tape worm away bait
- 28:38Speaker 8: good eating, it's good bait.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you're good eating for the fresh run.
- 28:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:41Speaker 5: Wow, good to hear some good old fashioned pitch had.
- 28:45Speaker 5: Actually it's been a bloody long time. Don't forget. You

- 29:03Speaker 5: email address.
- 29:04Speaker 3: We do a bit of a.
- 29:05Speaker 5: Backlog, so we will make our way to your question.
- 29:08Speaker 5: To just keep on listening and we'll get there shortly.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Up next Joe.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Little Bit The Hierarchy Big Show week days from four
- 29:16Speaker 1: on Radio hdarky.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Ah Beautiful fade out there.
- 29:18Speaker 5: It is Green Day on the Huducky Big Show Thursday
- 29:20Speaker 5: afternoon with Kezy and joining me in studio right now
- 29:23Speaker 5: a very special guest, a Grammy winning producer who's worked
- 29:27Speaker 5: with some of the biggest names in music. But he
- 29:29Speaker 5: is from right here in New Zealand. His name is
- 29:32Speaker 5: Joel Little Joel, thank you so much for coming to
- 29:33Speaker 5: the studio.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Thanks for having me. Man, good to be here.
- 29:36Speaker 5: Now, are you coming in just to say good aay
- 29:37Speaker 5: because you're a huge fan of Ducky or are we
- 29:39Speaker 5: sort of promoting something.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Mainly the first thing, but we are also here to
- 29:45Speaker 4: promote something.
- 29:45Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, right, so I understand, and we'll get into
- 29:48Speaker 5: your amazing career shortly. But you and your lovely wife
- 29:53Speaker 5: have set up a it's been running for a few years,
- 29:56Speaker 5: but you've set up a sort of a foundation trying
- 29:58Speaker 5: to help young aspiring music get better access to you know,
- 30:02Speaker 5: recording studios and things.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Right, yeah, well it's more of a it's more of
- 30:05Speaker 4: a place. So we have a place in Morningside in
- 30:08Speaker 4: Auckland called Big Fan, which has multiple recording studios and
- 30:13Speaker 4: then an all ages venue downstairs that is a charity,
- 30:18Speaker 4: but we run a bunch of programs out of there.
- 30:22Speaker 4: To give the whole idea with it was we wanted
- 30:24Speaker 4: to build a very high end studio and venue space
- 30:28Speaker 4: that we would then give as many people access to
- 30:30Speaker 4: as possible to kind of help people upschool, chase their
- 30:32Speaker 4: dream of era of doing music and just be just
- 30:36Speaker 4: have the experience of being in a place that is
- 30:38Speaker 4: like welcoming and encouraging and hopefully will inspire some people
- 30:42Speaker 4: to further their careers.
- 30:43Speaker 5: Well, it's one of those, and I think media then
- 30:46Speaker 5: you know radio and TV and all sorts of things
- 30:48Speaker 5: in the same vein. You turn eighteen seventeen, you leave
- 30:51Speaker 5: high school and you go, I'd love to do this
- 30:54Speaker 5: music and media being one of them, being an actor
- 30:56Speaker 5: things like that, and you go, but don't know how
- 30:58Speaker 5: to do it, so I'll just get a rig a job.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 3: So was that your experience coming through as well.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I had no idea what I was
- 31:07Speaker 4: going to do, and I feel like I just kind
- 31:09Speaker 4: of followed my nose and have just ended up in
- 31:12Speaker 4: an incredible possession. But also I mean I knew that
- 31:15Speaker 4: I loved music and I wanted to do it in
- 31:17Speaker 4: some way, shape or form. But like over the years,
- 31:20Speaker 4: especially early on, you know, I was in good Night
- 31:22Speaker 4: Nurse and that was awesome fun, but it made us
- 31:24Speaker 4: zero dollars and so yeah, right, that was fine until
- 31:27Speaker 4: I had a family, and then I was like, shit,
- 31:29Speaker 4: how do you actually like make a living off of
- 31:31Speaker 4: music and support a small child? Yeah, so I was
- 31:34Speaker 4: doing everything. I was doing covers, gigs and like set
- 31:38Speaker 4: up a label and I was just trying all sorts
- 31:39Speaker 4: of stuff out just so that I didn't have to
- 31:41Speaker 4: get a normal job.
- 31:42Speaker 5: Yeah, because I mean, like good Night Nurse, for example,
- 31:45Speaker 5: I'm assuming you guys didn't start, which, if you don't know,
- 31:47Speaker 5: is like a classic key Week punk rock band that
- 31:50Speaker 5: I remember listening to. You guys must have got started
- 31:53Speaker 5: more in a garage rather than a high end studio.
- 31:55Speaker 5: They're right, yeah, yeah, exactly. We're in Jaden's garage.
- 31:58Speaker 4: And even with band, I feel like like Big Fan
- 32:01Speaker 4: as a place for me is like we always had
- 32:04Speaker 4: I always had throughout my career, especially early on, just
- 32:07Speaker 4: people that would kind of say the right thing at
- 32:09Speaker 4: the right time, like the right encouraging word, or like
- 32:11Speaker 4: my music teacher at high school, even when I quit
- 32:14Speaker 4: music class, would still let us come in and practice
- 32:16Speaker 4: gross in the music room at lunchtime, even though we
- 32:18Speaker 4: weren't studying it. And just people like that who do
- 32:21Speaker 4: little things that keep the fire going for you. And
- 32:24Speaker 4: so because I've had that experience multiple times in me,
- 32:27Speaker 4: like if that person hadn't said that, then maybe I
- 32:29Speaker 4: wouldn't be where I am. Now, that's kind of what
- 32:31Speaker 4: we want big Fan to be. And yeah, we started
- 32:32Speaker 4: in the garage. I had a guy so that we
- 32:33Speaker 4: couldn't find a singer for good Night Nurse, and I
- 32:35Speaker 4: had a guy say to me, you know, why don't
- 32:37Speaker 4: you just do it? And I was like, well, I
- 32:38Speaker 4: can't actually sing in this and he was like, well,
- 32:40Speaker 4: either you'll get better or you'll meet someone by like
- 32:42Speaker 4: being out there, you know, playing gigs that can sing
- 32:45Speaker 4: and like otherwise you could be sitting around waiting for
- 32:47Speaker 4: and singer forever. So just little pieces of advice like
- 32:50Speaker 4: that that I've had that that's what we want big
- 32:52Speaker 4: Fan to be for people.
- 32:53Speaker 5: Because that's even in my career in radio and stuff.
- 32:56Speaker 5: So I've been in the industry for I think about
- 32:57Speaker 5: fourteen years now, TV blah blah blahlah blah. But I
- 33:00Speaker 5: I think if I had had the pieces of advice
- 33:02Speaker 5: that was sprinkled throughout that fourteen years, I could almost
- 33:06Speaker 5: get to where I am now in half that time, right.
- 33:09Speaker 5: And it's almost as you're saying, you need to hear
- 33:10Speaker 5: the right thing at the right time and be pushed
- 33:12Speaker 5: in the right direction. So you have had an incredibly
- 33:16Speaker 5: successful career, as I said, You've worked with some of
- 33:18Speaker 5: the biggest names of music. What has made you want
- 33:21Speaker 5: to come back to New Zealand and set up a
- 33:22Speaker 5: foundation to help other young kiwis get into music?
- 33:26Speaker 3: Are you not fulfilled enough already?
- 33:27Speaker 2: Joel?
- 33:28Speaker 4: I mean I feel like it. I mean to me,
- 33:31Speaker 4: it's just it feels good to give back and to
- 33:34Speaker 4: do things for other people. And I feel like if
- 33:36Speaker 4: I hadn't had the success that I've had and saw
- 33:39Speaker 4: somebody else in my position not doing something to help out,
- 33:42Speaker 4: I'll be like, what a.
- 33:43Speaker 9: What a dick?
- 33:43Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 33:44Speaker 4: Right, Okay. I feel like there's a little bit of
- 33:46Speaker 4: I don't know, and I put it on myself, a
- 33:48Speaker 4: bit of a responsibility that I feel there to just
- 33:50Speaker 4: just because I know that I wouldn't that I was
- 33:52Speaker 4: lucky to have the right situation to make me be
- 33:57Speaker 4: able to become this producer and whatever and have this
- 33:59Speaker 4: career that i've. So I just I feel like it's
- 34:04Speaker 4: that there are so many people that are talented in
- 34:05Speaker 4: New Zealand and I want them to have that same
- 34:07Speaker 4: sort of opportunity. Yeah, because like you say, it is
- 34:10Speaker 4: I could have. There were so many things I had
- 34:12Speaker 4: to figure out for myself a long way as well.
- 34:14Speaker 4: And so Big Fan is like all the gear there
- 34:16Speaker 4: is amazing. The live venue sounds great. Like when we
- 34:19Speaker 4: used to play, We're playing these crappy little places and
- 34:22Speaker 4: just you couldn't even really hear yourself and no one
- 34:24Speaker 4: could really hear. It was just like a big noise wall.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Yeah right, But a Big Fan you can hear what
- 34:29Speaker 4: everybody's doing and it sounds great. And it's just for
- 34:31Speaker 4: a free young band to be able to have that
- 34:32Speaker 4: and then play a gig and be like, oh man,
- 34:34Speaker 4: like our basse player sucks or you know, whenever it
- 34:37Speaker 4: might be like, so that they can work on it.
- 34:38Speaker 8: You know.
- 34:38Speaker 4: It's like it's that it's that type of place, and
- 34:41Speaker 4: so yeah, it feels good to be doing it.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 34:44Speaker 5: So Big Fan dot co dott is it is the
- 34:46Speaker 5: website if you'd like to go along and find out
- 34:48Speaker 5: more information. And you guys are doing a fundraising exercise
- 34:50Speaker 5: at the moment you've said your match at dollar for
- 34:53Speaker 5: dollar for every dollar that comes into a limit of
- 34:55Speaker 5: fifty thousand dollars. Yeah, so you're hoping to get about
- 34:58Speaker 5: one hundred thousand dollars to put into Big and what
- 35:00Speaker 5: will this money go towards?
- 35:02Speaker 4: So we run a bunch of free programs there, and
- 35:04Speaker 4: the three years that we've been open, we've done something
- 35:07Speaker 4: like thirty five free programs and they range from like
- 35:10Speaker 4: from mentorships where we pair like an aspiring producer and aspiring
- 35:14Speaker 4: event promoter up with someone that's been doing it for
- 35:16Speaker 4: years to help them like further their their careers. We
- 35:20Speaker 4: do residencies where people will just we just give them
- 35:23Speaker 4: a free studio time to come and work on whatever
- 35:25Speaker 4: project that is that they're working on. We do writing camps,
- 35:28Speaker 4: we do seminars, all sorts of stuff, and we always
- 35:31Speaker 4: have so many more people apply for them than we
- 35:33Speaker 4: have spaces. Yeah, and so we just want to do more.
- 35:36Speaker 4: We just want to be able to give more people
- 35:38Speaker 4: the opportunity to get in the door. And so the
- 35:40Speaker 4: idea is that, yeah, there's any any donations, we'll just
- 35:45Speaker 4: go straight to that to more programs for next year.
- 35:48Speaker 4: Like you say, my wife and I gonna are going
- 35:50Speaker 4: to match it dollar for dollar.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Sweet.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Yeah, and you can. You can donate at Big Fan
- 35:54Speaker 4: dot cota in z or if you've got cash, just
- 35:56Speaker 4: stick it through the letterbox and yeah, we'll take care
- 35:59Speaker 4: of it.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Bloody Rapper, Well, Big Fan, doc Co dott in zid
- 36:02Speaker 5: go along there.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Have a look.
- 36:03Speaker 5: You might not have any cash yourself, but you might
- 36:04Speaker 5: know someone who does have some cash. In the meantime,
- 36:07Speaker 5: we'll get back to chatting with Grammy Award winning producer
- 36:11Speaker 5: and songwriter Joel a little.
- 36:12Speaker 3: In the meantime, we're going.
- 36:12Speaker 5: To go back to the early days of the career
- 36:15Speaker 5: with a bit of good night, nurse, this is taking over.
- 36:17Speaker 3: And what year did this one come out?
- 36:18Speaker 7: Joel?
- 36:19Speaker 4: I honestly don't even know. I feel like this was
- 36:21Speaker 4: probably like two thousand and five or six.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Hell yeah, let's do it.
- 36:26Speaker 1: The Hurdiarchy Big Show week days from four on Radio
- 36:30Speaker 1: hold Ike.
- 36:30Speaker 4: I don't think anyone. I don't think anyone would have
- 36:32Speaker 4: guessed that that guy would have been the guy that
- 36:34Speaker 4: ended up doing songs with Taylor Swift.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I know, right, very unlikely, hugely unlikely. It's good Night Nurse.
- 36:40Speaker 5: They're taking over, and I've got Joel Little, who, as
- 36:43Speaker 5: we've said, has helped some of the hugest names of music,
- 36:46Speaker 5: like Taylor Swift, Lord of course, which is sort of
- 36:49Speaker 5: how things started for you. But originally you were in
- 36:52Speaker 5: good Night Nurse. And we haven't heard that song in
- 36:54Speaker 5: so long, almost twenty years.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Yeah, twenty years old. That song, Joe, What the heck?
- 36:58Speaker 1: I know?
- 36:59Speaker 4: I know, man, it's actually wild to think about that.
- 37:01Speaker 4: I've been doing this for twenty plus years.
- 37:04Speaker 3: It's been pretty good to you though. So two thousand and.
- 37:09Speaker 5: It would have been two thousand and twelve or twenty thirteen.
- 37:12Speaker 5: I was working at another radio station in Auckland. I
- 37:15Speaker 5: was an intern, and my job was to go through
- 37:17Speaker 5: all of the sort of demos that had been sent
- 37:19Speaker 5: in and find one to play and feature for the
- 37:22Speaker 5: next month.
- 37:22Speaker 3: And I found a four song demo from.
- 37:26Speaker 5: Lord, and I listened to that and I spent my
- 37:28Speaker 5: entire it was busy work for the intern who was useless.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Now spend my entire day listening to different bands and things,
- 37:33Speaker 5: some of whom have you gone on to do awesome things.
- 37:35Speaker 3: But put this on.
- 37:36Speaker 5: I was like, holy cow, this check is amazing. And
- 37:38Speaker 5: the song I actually loved was love Club and if
- 37:42Speaker 5: you aren't familiar with the song, look it up Lord
- 37:43Speaker 5: love Club. And then I think the bosses ended up
- 37:48Speaker 5: listening and said, no, Royals is the one.
- 37:49Speaker 3: We like that one. No need to explain what happened
- 37:52Speaker 3: with Royals that went massive?
- 37:53Speaker 5: It won a Grammy, right yeah, yeah, one two Grammys,
- 37:56Speaker 5: two Grammys Royals, which you helped Ella create. And then
- 38:00Speaker 5: I remember Ella like baked muffins for the radio station
- 38:02Speaker 5: and things like that. And then you see where she's
- 38:04Speaker 5: at now and you're at now as well. It's mind
- 38:07Speaker 5: blowing stuff seeing Kiwis do so well job.
- 38:09Speaker 4: Thank you, Yeah, I mean it was mind blowing for
- 38:11Speaker 4: us too, just that whole, very unexpected whole thing, the
- 38:14Speaker 4: way that it played out. I mean, we thought that
- 38:16Speaker 4: we'd done something cool, but we just it was like
- 38:19Speaker 4: a free download. She put it up on SoundCloud for
- 38:21Speaker 4: three right, yes, so it wasn't even like and no,
- 38:23Speaker 4: she'd never even played a gig or anything. Her whole
- 38:25Speaker 4: thing was like, I'm fifteen years old and none of
- 38:28Speaker 4: my friends have credit cards because this was kind of
- 38:30Speaker 4: pre Spotify being what it is now. Yeah, so the
- 38:33Speaker 4: label like, yeah, you should just put it off for free?
- 38:35Speaker 7: Why not?
- 38:36Speaker 4: Yeah, and it just kind of snowbolled. It was wild.
- 38:38Speaker 5: It was well because you know, it started over on
- 38:40Speaker 5: that smaller radio station I was working on that, it
- 38:42Speaker 5: went to some of the big hits ones like ZDIM
- 38:44Speaker 5: for example, and then it went international and you can
- 38:46Speaker 5: just see this thing growing. Can you please give us
- 38:50Speaker 5: some of the big names that you have worked with
- 38:51Speaker 5: because we're on Radio Hodarchy. You know we played the
- 38:53Speaker 5: Chilis and the Phillies and led Zeppelin. Yeah, but there
- 38:56Speaker 5: are some massive artists for example you mentioned earlier Taylor Swift.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, not a lot of Hurdaki, but it's okay.
- 39:04Speaker 4: For example, Aura Taylor Swift, imagine Dragons, he might play
- 39:08Speaker 4: a little bit, and then we did yeah, Khalid, Sean Mendez,
- 39:13Speaker 4: Nile Horn far out.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Uh.
- 39:17Speaker 4: Yeah, there's there's been a lot it.
- 39:19Speaker 5: Do you do you have you still got and did
- 39:22Speaker 5: you ever have impost syndrome?
- 39:24Speaker 2: Like what the hell?
- 39:25Speaker 3: Am I doing here? I'm from good Night Nurse.
- 39:27Speaker 4: I feel like a lot of most musicians have emphoster
- 39:29Speaker 4: syndrome because it's such a weird it's a hard thing
- 39:32Speaker 4: to like. I feel like it's a hard thing to
- 39:34Speaker 4: get an ego of, like being able to write a
- 39:36Speaker 4: good song, because you write so many bad songs right
- 39:39Speaker 4: on the road to writing the good ones, and even
- 39:40Speaker 4: when you've written some good ones, you still write really
- 39:42Speaker 4: crappy ones in between, like a good one and another
- 39:45Speaker 4: good one.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Right, So you're keeping yourself on chit.
- 39:47Speaker 4: I'm getting humbled every day trying to write songs and
- 39:50Speaker 4: just be like, man, that sucks, and then I just
- 39:52Speaker 4: I'll try again tomorrow. And then you know, I'll have
- 39:54Speaker 4: a day where I write a good song and I'm like,
- 39:56Speaker 4: I'm the man, and then the next day I'll write
- 39:58Speaker 4: a crap one and I'm like, oh, I sucking. We're
- 40:00Speaker 4: going to write another good one.
- 40:01Speaker 5: But we don't see any of that or hear any
- 40:02Speaker 5: of that. We only hear the big ones that get through,
- 40:04Speaker 5: and you go, man, this dude is on fire.
- 40:05Speaker 4: Yeah exactly.
- 40:07Speaker 5: So I'm assuming we don't get into the details too much,
- 40:09Speaker 5: but you know, your sort of your livelihood depends on
- 40:12Speaker 5: writing songs, teaming up, co labbing those songs, going well
- 40:15Speaker 5: with big artists. Is there a song that you were
- 40:17Speaker 5: just so thankful that you were a part of.
- 40:19Speaker 4: I mean, Royal's for sure.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Royal's was the one that started it.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Yeah, ro was the one that started. I mean, that's
- 40:24Speaker 4: that's been huge, Young, Dumb and Broke by Khalid, Right, song,
- 40:28Speaker 4: like a song that's just kind of like the gift
- 40:30Speaker 4: that keeps on.
- 40:31Speaker 2: So you wrote that? Yeah, oh my god, Yeah that's
- 40:33Speaker 2: a great song.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Thanks. I read it with Khalid and another guy called
- 40:37Speaker 4: Till write it. Yeah, the three of us wrote it.
- 40:39Speaker 5: Yeah yeah right, And so what about like, for example,
- 40:41Speaker 5: getting on a Taylor Swift song because she's the biggest artist.
- 40:43Speaker 7: In the wild.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah. I did four or five songs on
- 40:46Speaker 4: her album called Lover, So yeah, I mean that was
- 40:49Speaker 4: that was huge. The songs that we did, we're all
- 40:52Speaker 4: I think four or three or four of them were singles.
- 40:54Speaker 4: So it was yeah. I mean all of that stuff
- 40:56Speaker 4: is just like you just gotta pinching yourself.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Man.
- 40:58Speaker 4: It's it's crazy. But also I feel like at that point,
- 41:01Speaker 4: I just I put in a lot of time, and
- 41:02Speaker 4: I was kind of ready for the ready to step
- 41:04Speaker 4: up to the challenge.
- 41:05Speaker 3: You knew you could do it as well.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, I think so. I just
- 41:09Speaker 4: I don't know, you kind of have to go into
- 41:11Speaker 4: it with a bit of with a bit of self belief, yeah,
- 41:14Speaker 4: and just trust that, Like, you know, she wouldn't advanced
- 41:16Speaker 4: to work with me if you didn't like what I what.
- 41:18Speaker 3: I did, right, So is that is that how it works?
- 41:20Speaker 6: Is it?
- 41:20Speaker 5: So people say, oh, I like what you did with
- 41:22Speaker 5: that track, I wouldn't mind working with you.
- 41:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Yeah, people reach out. I mean I'll reach out, especially
- 41:26Speaker 4: to like new artists. I'll reach out and be like,
- 41:28Speaker 4: oh that's cool, that could be cool to because I
- 41:30Speaker 4: love working with new artists as well as the more
- 41:32Speaker 4: established ones, just helping them kind of find their sound.
- 41:34Speaker 4: And like with Killeen with with Lord and you know,
- 41:37Speaker 4: and I did like Noah Khan's first two albums. He's
- 41:39Speaker 4: obviously a massive superstar. Now I just didn't do his
- 41:43Speaker 4: He calls me a stepping stone because this really successful
- 41:45Speaker 4: album came afterwards. But but I just I love that.
- 41:48Speaker 4: I love like helping an artist figure things out from
- 41:50Speaker 4: the echo. Yeah, so you're going to tell us for
- 41:52Speaker 4: sweating or what. No, I don't think I'm quite I'm
- 41:56Speaker 4: not quite in the in a circle enough for that.
- 41:58Speaker 4: I'm probably on like one of the outer rings okay,
- 42:02Speaker 4: of the you know, of the planet that is tell
- 42:05Speaker 4: us with Yes.
- 42:05Speaker 5: Sorry, man, it's a shame because I'm going. I was
- 42:07Speaker 5: hoping i'd have a familiar face there.
- 42:09Speaker 7: Grats.
- 42:09Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, well yeah, let me know how it goes.
- 42:13Speaker 3: It's gonna be great. I'm very excited.
- 42:14Speaker 5: Well, look, Joel little thank you so much for coming
- 42:16Speaker 5: in the studio man. As mentioned prior, if you'd like
- 42:19Speaker 5: to get involved and donate to help Joel's calls, go
- 42:23Speaker 5: to big Fan, dot co, dot m Z. They're looking
- 42:25Speaker 5: for fifty thousand dollars in donations, and then Joel and
- 42:28Speaker 5: your wife jim at will match that, hoping you get
- 42:31Speaker 5: one hundred thousand dollars to get more talented Kiwis in
- 42:33Speaker 5: recording studios and performing live as well. Joel, thank you
- 42:37Speaker 5: so much for coming in.
- 42:37Speaker 4: Thank you man. Yeah, and every little bit counts. You
- 42:39Speaker 4: don't have to give me a fifty thousand dollars in
- 42:41Speaker 4: one go, you just five dollars. Is also a good
- 42:43Speaker 4: amount to give. Just anything like that. Hell very helpful. Yeah,
- 42:46Speaker 4: Big Fan dot co dot in ZID.
- 42:48Speaker 1: The Whodiarchy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Keyzy tune
- 42:52Speaker 1: in week days at four on Radio hold.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Ich Jans addiction.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Jane says on the Hihiky Big Show, it is just
- 42:57Speaker 5: about six o'clock here this Sursday afternoon with Kezy. The
- 43:01Speaker 5: Big Show back in full on Tuesday. By the way,
- 43:03Speaker 5: we just got back from Fiji. In fact, Mogi is
- 43:06Speaker 5: still there with his lovely wife and daughter. And if
- 43:09Speaker 5: you were keeping an eye on our social media channels
- 43:11Speaker 5: you would have seen us playing golf over there. You
- 43:14Speaker 5: would have also noticed that we have brand new Radio
- 43:16Speaker 5: Hducky Swingers Club golf polos. If you'd like to get
- 43:20Speaker 5: your hands on one of those, you can get them
- 43:22Speaker 5: from mister Vintage dot Co dot m Z. You can
- 43:25Speaker 5: also get them for free eventually, because we are currently
- 43:28Speaker 5: looking for another location for the Radio Hducky Swingers Club
- 43:33Speaker 5: to play a golf course somewhere around New Zealand. I
- 43:36Speaker 5: think we're thinking just in the Awklord area for the
- 43:38Speaker 5: next one. But if you know anyone or you have
- 43:41Speaker 5: a course that you love, or you have a connection
- 43:43Speaker 5: to a course somewhere, why not text us on three
- 43:45Speaker 5: four eight three let us know and we could end
- 43:48Speaker 5: up playing there. I think the Breakfast Show we're gonna
- 43:50Speaker 5: have a couple of people playing with them versus the

- 44:38Speaker 5: m seeing a wedding down in christ Church. If my
- 44:40Speaker 5: flight tonight does in fact take off, I've been keeping
- 44:43Speaker 5: an eye on the old flight radar. Plenty of planes
- 44:46Speaker 5: taking off heading for christ Church. I've noticed that it's
- 44:48Speaker 5: the larger planes that are in fact landing down there,

- 45:57Speaker 5: Kezy and Pugs, Old Mogi and Hoody j are back
- 46:00Speaker 5: on Tuesday. There In the meantime, we're doing best of
- 46:03Speaker 5: the Big Show. This clip is entitled Mike helps Neighbor.
- 46:06Speaker 5: Is this from when he was living on Waihiki?
- 46:08Speaker 3: This is where Mike helps his neighbor?
- 46:10Speaker 6: Oh yeah, No, the Fellows used to be real community
- 46:13Speaker 6: men now that they were very involved, almost like Homeowners'
- 46:16Speaker 6: Association levels of being involved in the community. And this
- 46:20Speaker 6: was Mike helping up with the old lady next to
- 46:23Speaker 6: he Oh, the.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Old lady next door. So this is Maureen, the neighbor
- 46:26Speaker 2: down the road there, her husband. She's old, but she
- 46:29Speaker 2: got plenty of life back in a lot of fight,
- 46:31Speaker 2: he said, feisty. Yeah yeah. And her husband passed away recently,
- 46:35Speaker 2: so she's on her own. She hasn't got a lot
- 46:36Speaker 2: of family that lived locally. Sure, so I've been helping
- 46:39Speaker 2: her out. But she come over and showed me how
- 46:42Speaker 2: to make jam, and she caught her apron on fire,
- 46:44Speaker 2: so I threw jam on her to put the fire. Unfortunately,
- 46:47Speaker 2: the jam course third degree beers. But she's looking pretty good.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Oh you know what I.
- 46:51Speaker 8: Find it because I'm like this with my old neighbor Bill,
- 46:53Speaker 8: you know what I mean. They come back from adversity
- 46:57Speaker 8: like nobody's business because from a different generation. Yeah, like cockroaches,
- 47:01Speaker 8: well very much.
- 47:01Speaker 7: They just won't die.
- 47:02Speaker 2: No, And so I've been helping her out around there
- 47:07Speaker 2: and she's.
- 47:07Speaker 11: Say, oh, no, i'd rather you didn't. I'd rather you didn't.
- 47:10Speaker 11: I can, I can take care of it. So like
- 47:11Speaker 11: worene come on. She's like, no, honestly, I've got it covered, Mike.
- 47:15Speaker 11: I just wish you'd leave me alone. I was like, look, Maureen,
- 47:17Speaker 11: I'm not taking over an answer you all right. She's
- 47:19Speaker 11: like maur And I'm like, Maureen, shut up, sit down.
- 47:23Speaker 11: And then I was just sort of out there helping
- 47:25Speaker 11: her with her housework and that, doing a bit of
- 47:28Speaker 11: vacuumine and just doing the dishes and that. But I
- 47:32Speaker 11: it's one of those things because she's so old, you
- 47:35Speaker 11: know how they just collect all that crap.
- 47:37Speaker 7: Oh yeah, and things like that.
- 47:40Speaker 2: It's unreal, man, there's vasa's every available surface. Nick Knack, Yes,
- 47:47Speaker 2: curios just these, you know, all the sort of garbage,
- 47:51Speaker 2: which you know, she said it's got sentimental value, but
- 47:56Speaker 2: I mean, to me, I'll be honest with you, it
- 47:58Speaker 2: just looks like garbage year. And she had this little
- 48:02Speaker 2: vaz tacky bloody thing it was, and I'm going around
- 48:04Speaker 2: doing the vacuum, and I knocked the bastard over right
- 48:06Speaker 2: in the fireplace. It was over the fire there. Yes,
- 48:10Speaker 2: because she gets quite pissy when I when I break
- 48:12Speaker 2: his stuff, you know, but she's got so much keesy,
- 48:17Speaker 2: so she needs to just calm down because she's got
- 48:21Speaker 2: to think about getting better after all their burns on that, right,
- 48:25Speaker 2: and so anyway, so I vacuumed all that up and
- 48:27Speaker 2: then I ducked off more emill leave you to Then
- 48:31Speaker 2: she calls me up, what happened to John? What happened
- 48:34Speaker 2: to John? I said, look, more than you're going to
- 48:37Speaker 2: have to calm down. I don't know what you're talking about. Anyway,
- 48:39Speaker 2: it turns out that that vase yes had John's ashes.
- 48:46Speaker 2: I dropped them and smashed them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I see,
- 48:49Speaker 2: calm down, calm down, I've just vacuumed them up. It's
- 48:53Speaker 2: all good.
- 48:53Speaker 7: Yeah, yes, it'll be in the sack.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I thought. But then I actually I
- 48:57Speaker 2: had emptied it out. Oh yeah, so that's all good.
- 49:01Speaker 2: So all I did was I just got something out
- 49:03Speaker 2: of the fireplace at our joint. Yeah, just swept out
- 49:06Speaker 2: in there, none the wiser, none the wiser.
- 49:08Speaker 7: Oh, I know.
- 49:10Speaker 8: She probably would have forgotten about it within about ten minutes.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just something there.
- 49:15Speaker 5: Yees.
- 49:15Speaker 2: You know in reality, John's actually like maybe in the
- 49:19Speaker 2: landfill now yeah, yeah, which is I mean six one
- 49:22Speaker 2: half doesn't know the other to be honest, eazy, he
- 49:24Speaker 2: would like that. Well, it's the thing. He was actually
- 49:28Speaker 2: a he was a garbo. Yeah really yeah. Yeah.
- 49:31Speaker 7: Well it's poetic then, isn't it. I mean it's the
- 49:35Speaker 7: way it should have been.
- 49:36Speaker 2: No, that's right. Yeah, Mareen the ra what a good bastard?
- 49:40Speaker 2: Who moreen? No you for sending her husband to the dump,
- 49:45Speaker 2: well sending them home? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess
- 49:49Speaker 2: you know, yeah you could say my hero is it?
- 49:50Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, yeah, I know you don't.
- 49:53Speaker 2: In the community, you know what I mean? And yeah,
- 49:56Speaker 2: there's plenty more stuff I can do around your place actually,
- 49:59Speaker 2: oh I'm sure.
- 50:00Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, Well good on you mate, it's great to
- 50:02Speaker 8: help the old folk out, isn't it.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 50:04Speaker 7: You know what I mean to give back a little bit.
- 50:06Speaker 2: But the thing is, you know, you start helping the match.
- 50:07Speaker 2: She's got no one else you see now Minogio gets remembered.
- 50:11Speaker 2: The old will there.

- 53:13Speaker 3: When did you X gig? By the way, I've given up,
- 53:15Speaker 3: You've given it up.
- 53:16Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just too hard to pursue like stand up comedy,
- 53:19Speaker 5: because I did do some last year. The reason people
- 53:22Speaker 5: who are good are good at it is because they
- 53:24Speaker 5: are freaking doing it multiple times every week, and a
- 53:28Speaker 5: lot of them a getting paid nothing to do it.
- 53:30Speaker 5: It's a huge, like you know, thing to get into. Oh,
- 53:32Speaker 5: it's a huge undertaking. Yeah, and I couldn't do it justice.
- 53:35Speaker 5: I think one day I'll have another crack at it properly,
- 53:38Speaker 5: but for now, I'll just stick.
- 53:39Speaker 2: To the old Big Show.
- 53:40Speaker 6: Well, in the meantime, mate, why don't we look back
- 53:41Speaker 6: on one of your first memories as a stand up comic.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Doing your practice with the Fellers on the Big Show.
- 53:47Speaker 5: I've got a new opening line that I think you
- 53:50Speaker 5: guys will love it, okay, because I mean we've been
- 53:52Speaker 5: workshopping and it's been really helpful.
- 53:53Speaker 7: And after that, oh, oh you need the background.
- 53:59Speaker 2: But it's your first You got to walk out.
- 54:01Speaker 3: Okay, how I let me get the background ready.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Actually you can't do your joke and they're back there.
- 54:04Speaker 7: Yeah right true that welcome to the sage. What only.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Boo? That'll be me. You're in the front row to a.
- 54:17Speaker 4: Ah.
- 54:19Speaker 7: Are you going to start off every gig with? Oh?
- 54:23Speaker 2: Like you're shocked to be there?
- 54:25Speaker 3: Get over.
- 54:25Speaker 5: My name's CAZy. I'm gonna do some observational comedy for you.
- 54:29Speaker 8: Now stick with that. The observational comedy. You're gonna tell
- 54:32Speaker 8: them what comedy you're doing.
- 54:34Speaker 2: You're gonna go I'm gonna do some.
- 54:39Speaker 7: My nose.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Have you ever noticed?
- 54:43Speaker 8: I mean as if you wouldn't observe that from the crowd,
- 54:46Speaker 8: I mean that would be that would be the first
- 54:47Speaker 8: thing you saw.
- 54:48Speaker 5: A quiet in front you. Two animals have really good teeth,
- 54:54Speaker 5: have you noticed that? And humans teeth? You need to
- 54:57Speaker 5: go to the dentist all the time to get good teeth.
- 55:01Speaker 5: Although animals had a dentist and a beer went and
- 55:05Speaker 5: got all his teeth pulled out, he'd be a gummy beer.
- 55:10Speaker 9: Hey, Jason, joy to beer, He's going to.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Be a gummy beer.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Actually it's going to do it. Can you guys stop
- 55:22Speaker 3: whispering in the front there?
- 55:24Speaker 9: Sorry, Jesus, that was absolutely top.
- 55:31Speaker 7: How are we going to speak to him on Monday?
- 55:34Speaker 7: I mean, that's what do we say?
- 55:35Speaker 2: At least as Goaty looked really cool?
- 55:39Speaker 3: Thank goodness.
- 55:40Speaker 2: I am not currently doing any stand up.
- 55:42Speaker 5: That was a couple of years ago now, and it
- 55:44Speaker 5: was one of the best things that I ever had
- 55:45Speaker 5: to do as part of this radio show, them pretty
- 55:48Speaker 5: much forcing me to do stand up comedy in sky
- 55:51Speaker 5: City Theater in front of it. I think it was
- 55:52Speaker 5: like five hundred people or something, A huge thing that
- 55:55Speaker 5: you always think. I'd love to give that a crack
- 55:56Speaker 5: one day, And then now that it's done, I'm stoked
- 56:00Speaker 5: overheating into it, freaking the if out man. The Big
- 56:03Speaker 5: Show will be back in full on Tuesday, by the way,
- 56:06Speaker 5: and in the meantime, if you are missing us, check
- 56:08Speaker 5: out our podcast every single show we've ever done available
- 56:11Speaker 5: for you there.
- 56:12Speaker 1: The whole Achy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kezy.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Tune in week days at four on Radio Hodaki.
- 56:26Speaker 5: That's a Big Show done and dusted for Thursday, the
- 56:28Speaker 5: twenty third of October. Just keasy here of course with
- 56:31Speaker 5: old pugs aren't tagging and thanks for the help today, pugs.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Listen men, any time you need me. Chris, right, Chris, huh,
- 56:41Speaker 3: look at me.
- 56:41Speaker 5: I'm looking directly at you and only occasionally looking away.
- 56:46Speaker 3: I'll be there. You didn't even look at me when
- 56:48Speaker 3: you said that last ye seriously though, because I could
- 56:51Speaker 3: use a hand this weekend, well, I christ you Yeah,
- 56:54Speaker 3: well I've got to do the big show tomorrow.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Sorry, are you so that? Yeah?
- 56:57Speaker 5: So I'm am seeing a wedding tomorrow. Fingers crossed to
- 57:00Speaker 5: the stage. My flight has not been postponed yet. It's
- 57:03Speaker 5: happening in a couple of hours time.
- 57:05Speaker 10: It's going to be great, Chris Man, Thanks man, I'm
- 57:07Speaker 10: not worry yourself. I'm not worried about the chill out
- 57:11Speaker 10: and just give it your all, leave nothing behind, thanks man.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Wait, no, leave it all out there.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Leave it all out there, but leave nothing behind.
- 57:21Speaker 3: That's it.
- 57:22Speaker 5: I'm more nervous that my flight's not going to make
- 57:24Speaker 5: it to christ Church because it's also a long weekend. Right,
- 57:28Speaker 5: so any chance of popping on a flight tomorrow is
- 57:29Speaker 5: out the door because everyone's aready snapped. All those flights out, yes,
- 57:32Speaker 5: even from local Airport's Hamilton Todhunger. I've checked them all
- 57:35Speaker 5: this none so I don't know what they're going to
- 57:37Speaker 5: do tomorrow. If I don't arrive to sort of save
- 57:41Speaker 5: the win, the winning, they'll have to care to park
- 57:43Speaker 5: the relationship?
