Latest / Serious People Podcast / Serious People: Real AI for Real Businesses
Transcript
- This is a message for the business leaders who don't work in tech. The people who build things, grow things, cook things, manufacture things, and move things through the real world. The people who sell their time, judgment, craft, and expertise by the hour. The people who run businesses that deliver physical goods and services that people rely on every day If that's you, you've felt the pressure to do something with AI. You've heard we're living in an AI economy. You've read that companies are automating jobs and even entire teams. You've watched breathless AI influencers explain how they 10x'd their sales funnel from a hotel lobby while sipping margaritas. And maybe some of that is real, but almost none of it sounds like it fits your business because let's face it, your procurement still runs on spreadsheets that only two people understand. Your billing process has so many edge cases that you have trouble writing it down. You worry that the one person who knows how to update the CRM might quit and take half the business with her. You suspect AI might have a role to play, but every example you hear assumes a business that is simpler, cleaner, less regulated, less physical, and less dependent on actual people than yours. Frankly, it always sounds like only digital businesses can use it. But I'm here to tell you that's not true I'm Noah. I spent twenty years inside operationally complex businesses like Amazon, Whole Foods, and healthcare. And now I spend every day helping owners and operators figure out where AI actually belongs in their business, how to get it implemented, and whether it creates value that's worth the trouble I didn't expect to start a podcast, but the more I work with real companies, the more obvious it is that most AI content is kind of tech people talking to tech people. It skips the messy middle of the day-to-day work that happens in business, and it makes capable operators feel like they're behind because the examples don't look anything like their lives Here on the Serious People podcast, I sit down with operators who are actually doing the work. Physical goods, service businesses, [00:02:00] healthcare, field teams, professional services, and more. We get specific on the whole process from end to end. We unpack what broke, what they tried, what it cost to get done, how they made it happen in their business, and the ROI they saw after the fact. This is not another AI hype show. I don't have any instant success prompts that will transform your company by Friday, and I won't pretend the hard part is picking between Codex and Claude Code. I want to show what AI looks like when it works inside a real business with all the constraints of the real world: bad data, edge cases, compliance, skeptical employees, and you, an owner who still has to make payroll New episodes start this month. Subscribe to the Serious People Podcast and AI Operators Manual, and come see what this stuff actually looks like. All right, Claude, work your magic.
