- 0:09Speaker 3: We got a special guest in here.
- 0:11Speaker 4: I've been a fan of this guy for I don't know,
- 0:13Speaker 4: three or four years now, since I discovered you on
- 0:14Speaker 4: the internet.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Daddy Swims.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hey, thanks for having me. I'm so start to be here, dude. Yeah. Man,
- 0:19Speaker 1: I watched this podcast like always, like, man, I want
- 0:22Speaker 1: to get on this so bad.
- 0:22Speaker 2: So look at us, a manifesting life, you know, come
- 0:26Speaker 2: on a great version.
- 0:27Speaker 3: I met you.
- 0:28Speaker 4: I was very, very fucking hammered at the It was
- 0:31Speaker 4: that Jelly Roll had a show out here at the Troubadoor.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Yeah, sure did. Man, What an angel?
- 0:36Speaker 3: I was blasted.
- 0:37Speaker 1: What an absolute angel. Yeah.
- 0:39Speaker 3: We was good night. We drink a lot, yeah, amongst others.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I remember Jelly had gotten like right after we were
- 0:46Speaker 2: upstairs in the little like I don't know, against the
- 0:48Speaker 2: bar area, and he had just he was just sitting back,
- 0:51Speaker 2: you know, like just sitting back booth and the booth
- 0:54Speaker 2: and they just kept bringing trays full a while. Thirty
- 0:56Speaker 2: He's like, what thirty more, Yeah, thirty more, casumigos.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I was like for the fucking night.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Hey, it's been dope to see just your come up. Dude,
- 1:05Speaker 3: I've been you know.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I use your layout because I always talk to aspiring
- 1:11Speaker 4: singers and songwriters, right, and I always use you as
- 1:14Speaker 4: an example to like how to use the Internet in
- 1:17Speaker 4: your favor, because if you're super talented, like you have
- 1:20Speaker 4: the voice of an angel, right, I found you.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I think it was I think it was the.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Mario cover all right, yeah, like twenty nineteen.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and ever since then, I subscribed to the YouTube
- 1:31Speaker 4: channel and I always will show people like, Yo, there's
- 1:33Speaker 4: this guy Teddy Swims like he's doing like covers, but
- 1:35Speaker 4: he's doing them like with like care, with like high
- 1:40Speaker 4: production value, and like, you know, it's dope that you
- 1:43Speaker 4: know that was kind of like would you say that
- 1:45Speaker 4: those covers were kind of your way into kind of
- 1:49Speaker 4: becoming discovered on a bit?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Absolutely? Man, We really really originally didn't intend on doing them.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It's just like so June twenty fifth of twenty nineteen
- 1:57Speaker 2: was the first one we did, and I wanted to
- 1:59Speaker 2: just kind of pay off which is Michael Jackson because
- 2:01Speaker 2: it was ten years after he died and.
- 2:02Speaker 1: We just woke up and it was just kind of
- 2:04Speaker 1: going crazy.
- 2:04Speaker 2: So we were like, I mean, I think I think
- 2:06Speaker 2: the first year, that first day after we posted it,
- 2:09Speaker 2: we woke up with like ten thousand views, you know.
- 2:11Speaker 2: And and now that's such like seems like such a
- 2:13Speaker 2: mental school number. If I get like not if I
- 2:16Speaker 2: don't get a million on something, now I'm like, oh
- 2:18Speaker 2: fucking kill me.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I suck, you know. But about that ten thousand, we
- 2:21Speaker 1: woke up to bro and we were like, holy jit gud,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we got ten thousand dudes. Yeah, what the fuck?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, and it was it was so cool
- 2:28Speaker 2: man and uh and so since then we was like,
- 2:30Speaker 2: I guess this is working, and we we just kept
- 2:32Speaker 2: going and kept doing more covers and and started you know,
- 2:35Speaker 2: and that's kind of what Teddy Swims just kind of
- 2:37Speaker 2: became its own thing because we were we were banned forever,
- 2:41Speaker 2: you know, and then it was just that that just
- 2:42Speaker 2: kind of went off and we're just I guess we're
- 2:44Speaker 2: just shifting gears and being all my buds and you know,
- 2:47Speaker 2: just just kept doing it.
- 2:48Speaker 4: At what point in time were you like, because I
- 2:51Speaker 4: know there had to be a point in time where
- 2:53Speaker 4: every major label was coming at you like like almost
- 2:55Speaker 4: like your Lebron James like a free agent.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It was quite It was quite neat too, because uh
- 3:00Speaker 2: so I once once those like covers started really kind
- 3:04Speaker 2: of going off, and that that Mario cover was really
- 3:06Speaker 2: one that was first starting to go and uh and
- 3:08Speaker 2: snid Twain still the one cover really did a lot
- 3:11Speaker 2: for us. And but after that first one, I was
- 3:13Speaker 2: talking to my buddies at the time, and because we
- 3:15Speaker 2: were all in bands and stuff.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I was still in a metal band.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And and still playing and uh and uh, and we
- 3:20Speaker 2: we would have like the same guys that would you know,
- 3:22Speaker 2: kind of record us. Man, my good friendly Rouse and
- 3:24Speaker 2: and uh, my buddy Aaron and Joel who like filmed
- 3:27Speaker 2: filmed the videos.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And so at one point we were just kind of
- 3:30Speaker 1: great job. Yeah, we had we had we had like
- 3:32Speaker 1: I had this idea.
- 3:33Speaker 2: It's like, look, man, I think I think if we
- 3:35Speaker 2: I think we just all put our heads together, like
- 3:37Speaker 2: let's just like just do this, do covers like weekly,
- 3:39Speaker 2: Let's just get together write songs for this project. That way,
- 3:43Speaker 2: when we get ready to you know, get signed or
- 3:45Speaker 2: whatever it is that we're gonna do. I just asked
- 3:47Speaker 2: my friends to give me like six months of their
- 3:49Speaker 2: time and I say just six months and we're being
- 3:52Speaker 2: So we all moved into this house together in Snellville, Georgia,
- 3:55Speaker 2: and it was like a five bedroom house and we
- 3:57Speaker 2: like put plyboard walls up and made two bedrooms out.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I mean we ended up making this thing like a
- 4:01Speaker 2: nine bedroom it. Yeah, it was like nine bedroom house. Man.
- 4:04Speaker 2: We had like fifteen I think twelve of us will
- 4:06Speaker 2: live in there. Like fifteen of us were there every day.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It was a fucking and.
- 4:10Speaker 3: This is where you guysoul record anything.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like fucking tafakecadea over there, man, you
- 4:14Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. And we we so we we
- 4:16Speaker 2: had like we had built like two studios in it.
- 4:18Speaker 2: And then you know, we had our like we had
- 4:21Speaker 2: our our garage was where we like could distribute our
- 4:24Speaker 2: own merch too.
- 4:25Speaker 1: And my brother would come over there and distribute our
- 4:26Speaker 1: merch and.
- 4:27Speaker 3: It was the merch factory in the garage.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Would more like dude, two studios in there, a bunch
- 4:31Speaker 2: of rooms. And I just figured like I was like, well,
- 4:33Speaker 2: we can film, we can record, we can write, we
- 4:36Speaker 2: can sing, we can make all this stuff ourselves. We
- 4:38Speaker 2: can we can do all of it. We can take
- 4:39Speaker 2: the pictures, we can distribute the merch. So I was like,
- 4:41Speaker 2: it just six months, it's all put our heads together
- 4:44Speaker 2: on this and if it, if it works out, then
- 4:46Speaker 2: like we're all gonna be straight because we we don't
- 4:48Speaker 2: need anybody, you know. And sure enough we June twenty
- 4:51Speaker 2: fifth of twenty nineteen was the first cover we did,
- 4:54Speaker 2: and in December twenty fourth of twenty nineteen, I signed
- 4:57Speaker 2: to one of records and put all my best buds
- 4:59Speaker 2: on salary. It was a day less than six months,
- 5:01Speaker 2: which is fucking wild out, like just speaking things into existence.
- 5:06Speaker 3: And you put all the homies who were there with you.
- 5:08Speaker 2: And yeah, yeah, and they're still they're still they're still
- 5:11Speaker 2: fucking the same van and still same guys and and
- 5:14Speaker 2: now we're actually making pretty damn good money, man.
- 5:16Speaker 1: So they're beautiful. Everybody's everybody's doing good.
- 5:19Speaker 2: And uh, you had a lot lots of them about
- 5:20Speaker 2: to move out here too, man, and just keep and
- 5:22Speaker 2: they've all had like writing cuts on records with me
- 5:25Speaker 2: and producing cuts and you know, we just we keep,
- 5:28Speaker 2: we keep going together. Man.
- 5:29Speaker 3: No, it's been dope to see.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So you say you were in a metal band around
- 5:33Speaker 3: the time you did the first cover.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah, she was, man, I was, I was in my
- 5:36Speaker 1: whole life.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I spent a lot of those. Uh, you can still
- 5:38Speaker 2: find some of the stuff. It's called this band's called
- 5:41Speaker 2: aras a E r i S. And you can find it.
- 5:43Speaker 2: What kind of metal it was, it was like it
- 5:45Speaker 2: was like kind of a more post metal core kind
- 5:48Speaker 2: of they were singing, some screaming, a little more, some
- 5:51Speaker 2: some kind of activey rock, situational, little post hardcore, a
- 5:54Speaker 2: little metal core, kind of a little bit of everything,
- 5:57Speaker 2: and it, you know, just it.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It was all right, it's pretty good. There's something, there's
- 6:01Speaker 1: some decency in it.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so all that stuff still out there for everybody.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, sure is.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Man, it's crazy because like you're like your music now,
- 6:08Speaker 4: I feel like is you know, there's a void and
- 6:12Speaker 4: I feel like our friend Jelly Rolls fill in that void.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Just good songwriting. Good like I'm talking about even on
- 6:18Speaker 4: the pop side, because now when I listen to Kiss
- 6:20Speaker 4: of Fam or even you know, certain rhythmic stations, you'll
- 6:23Speaker 4: hear your single and it's just good music from the soul.
- 6:26Speaker 4: And I feel like that is like a there's a
- 6:28Speaker 4: void of that in our current music landscape.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too. I think there's a I
- 6:33Speaker 2: think I think I'm really happy that it was that
- 6:36Speaker 2: song too, because I think I have this thing where
- 6:39Speaker 2: I always want to blend to whatever I think something
- 6:41Speaker 2: needs to sound like or or like you don't want
- 6:44Speaker 2: to get on a trend of something, because I find
- 6:46Speaker 2: that the things that get on trends that work out
- 6:48Speaker 2: are just always like a flash in the pan or
- 6:50Speaker 2: have like one big song, you know. And and I
- 6:52Speaker 2: think the ones that are real, the things that really
- 6:54Speaker 2: stick around, are real disruptors, you know.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And I hope that I like.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I like what's what it's great about Lose Control being
- 7:01Speaker 2: my big first single, that's that's kind of broken into
- 7:04Speaker 2: the market.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It's it's uh, it's it leaves me with.
- 7:07Speaker 2: So much room to go, so many wherever you want
- 7:10Speaker 2: to go, because it's it's it's got the soul, it's
- 7:12Speaker 2: got some country elements, some motown elements, some them rock
- 7:16Speaker 2: and roll elements from RB.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got everything in it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: And and I'm glad to know that it's working, and
- 7:21Speaker 2: it's working on different avenues. You know, it's working on
- 7:23Speaker 2: rhythmic radio and pop radio.
- 7:25Speaker 3: You've got an R and B remix out there.
- 7:26Speaker 2: You got the you know, it's it's great to see
- 7:30Speaker 2: that it's working and uh, and it gives me just
- 7:32Speaker 2: absolute room to go wherever the hell I want from here,
- 7:35Speaker 2: I think, and not be too left field, you know.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Talk about influences coming up in bands and ship, Like,
- 7:41Speaker 4: what were some of your band influences? Like, give me
- 7:44Speaker 4: your like three or four greatest bands.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Of all time bands? Okay, let's go bands first. Yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 2: of all time?
- 7:50Speaker 1: I see.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I say, as far as like influence goes, I'd have
- 7:54Speaker 2: to say, Like, so, there's a band called Acceptance. When
- 7:57Speaker 2: I was like in like sixth grade, like first man,
- 8:00Speaker 2: I ever like really got into Acceptance, like changed my life.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I remember playing like you remember like NFL Street to
- 8:05Speaker 2: you when that came out, Like NFL Streets.
- 8:07Speaker 3: That's someone with Ricky Williams on the cover.
- 8:09Speaker 1: They had they had it. It was like exhibit was in it.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Uh.
- 8:11Speaker 1: But everybody was, dude, it was.
- 8:13Speaker 3: The street games are so fire.
- 8:14Speaker 1: They were so sick. They were so sick.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I mean the uh the I recently played tried to
- 8:19Speaker 2: get off track here, but I recently played the NBA
- 8:22Speaker 2: Streets and the.
- 8:24Speaker 3: The Old School one.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, the camera it's like side angle, so you kind
- 8:27Speaker 2: of don't have really depth reception, so you're just like
- 8:29Speaker 2: kind of going right by the goal.
- 8:31Speaker 1: It doesn't hold up as well as.
- 8:32Speaker 4: You remember the NBA Street, the NFL Street and the
- 8:36Speaker 4: what was the skate games, the skate the skate that
- 8:38Speaker 4: was all, yeah, we gotta bring all.
- 8:40Speaker 1: This, but the oh Man and Deaf Jam, vendettas bro
- 8:44Speaker 1: come on would Man Redman every time? Redman was my hero. Dude,
- 8:49Speaker 1: how high? It is like one of my favorite movies
- 8:51Speaker 1: of all time with him and Meth. Yeah. Man, that's
- 8:53Speaker 1: like one of the best movies of all It's.
- 8:55Speaker 4: So funny like that that game existed. I had that game,
- 8:58Speaker 4: and then there was this Wu Tang game on PlayStation
- 9:00Speaker 4: and it was a fighting game where you could pick
- 9:01Speaker 4: like all nine members of Wu Tang and then you'd
- 9:04Speaker 4: fight like evil.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Monks and ship. It's so sick, but yeah, Vendetta was
- 9:08Speaker 3: that ship for sure.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Man.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Well, but anyway, fans, so there was there was a
- 9:13Speaker 2: song on on on NFL Street who and it was
- 9:17Speaker 2: the song called in Too Far by Acceptance, And I
- 9:20Speaker 2: was like, I just fell in love with it, and
- 9:22Speaker 2: I went and found this album Phantoms and it just
- 9:24Speaker 2: like changed my life.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It's one of the first ones I ever listened to.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I was like, god, I want this is like I
- 9:29Speaker 2: was all they were all over my space. Oh everything,
- 9:32Speaker 2: like all songs, all their whole that whole album was
- 9:34Speaker 2: all over my my space. So I like acceptances up
- 9:37Speaker 2: there for me. Circus survived, Man, Anthony Green one of
- 9:41Speaker 2: the greatest of all times, I think as far as
- 9:43Speaker 2: the Van Goes, I was so I was so invested
- 9:45Speaker 2: in Circus vibes still am Man. I mean he's he's
- 9:48Speaker 2: in Elis Dunes now. Just he's just one of the greatest.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I think.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Che Yotos Man also two thousand and seven, like Warped Tour.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You know, just to Chyotos was incredible, man, I.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Uh Warped it was an era. God, it was. So
- 10:01Speaker 1: that was one of the first shows that I ever
- 10:02Speaker 1: went to. Man.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And uh, I mean, I'll have to obviously have to
- 10:05Speaker 2: throw Van Halen in there too as bands go, because
- 10:09Speaker 2: come on, uh Lincoln Park Man, come on, yeah, come on.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Man just came out on stage at some radio show.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I was like, oh, ship came on stage with somebody.
- 10:21Speaker 1: They've changed my life, man.
- 10:23Speaker 3: And I got to go the first two albums.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Man, like My Child, Hybrid Theory is one of the
- 10:27Speaker 2: first ones I got that. Uh, and I got my
- 10:29Speaker 2: one of my first like Christmas where I got got
- 10:33Speaker 2: CDs and you remember when they used to be wrapped.
- 10:35Speaker 1: You just knew your parents got you.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah, it was dude, but I had gotten I had
- 10:40Speaker 2: got Hybrid Theory. No pads, no helmets, just balls by
- 10:45Speaker 2: simple Plan and uh, there was there was like a
- 10:48Speaker 2: three CD set of switch Foot. It was like let
- 10:51Speaker 2: ten and I forget the other two records on it,
- 10:53Speaker 2: but it was like three CDs, all of them.
- 10:55Speaker 3: You knew you were getting CDs for Christmas, nds or games.
- 10:58Speaker 3: You'd be like, is just a movie or a game?
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah?
- 11:00Speaker 2: That that was That was the catchy far Yeah did
- 11:01Speaker 2: you get a DVD or video game?
- 11:03Speaker 3: I hope it's a game. I hope it's not a
- 11:04Speaker 3: fucking movie.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I don't want to I don't want a copy of Click. Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I don't need clerks. I'm fine, you know, No, that's dope, man. Yeah. No,
- 11:13Speaker 3: Lincoln Park, I got to see them.
- 11:14Speaker 4: I went as a kid to the Hybrid Theory tour
- 11:18Speaker 4: and they had this there's this rapper named mc Supernatural.
- 11:23Speaker 4: I don't know if you've ever heard of him, but
- 11:24Speaker 4: Supernatural is like the free style god.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Right.
- 11:29Speaker 4: So at the time, he would do this ship where
- 11:31Speaker 4: he would I would see him on these like smaller
- 11:33Speaker 4: hip hop shows for like Dilated People's Drastic five and Ship,
- 11:37Speaker 4: and he would do this thing where he would spin
- 11:39Speaker 4: around and come as like and impersonate another rapper. So
- 11:43Speaker 4: he'd like spin around and be rapping like exhibit and
- 11:45Speaker 4: then he'd spin around to be wrapping. And he's the
- 11:48Speaker 4: first person that ever saw like take someone's ID from
- 11:51Speaker 4: the crowd and.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Wrap their name and their birthplace.
- 11:54Speaker 4: And so they had him open the Lincoln Park tour
- 11:58Speaker 4: and it was so crazy. But because I've never seen
- 12:00Speaker 4: somebody combine like hardcore real hip hop ship and like
- 12:05Speaker 4: rock ship.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, and without being corny.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Yeah, they were, dude, because there was some corny the
- 12:11Speaker 4: rap rock era, you got corny, you know.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And I think a lot of that has to do
- 12:15Speaker 2: with Joe haand Too Man because he was that just
- 12:17Speaker 2: did Lincoln Park always had that that DJ.
- 12:20Speaker 1: You know, and they have like really like and they
- 12:22Speaker 1: had the roots. Yeah exactly.
- 12:25Speaker 2: They they're just real real hip hop fans that think entirely,
- 12:28Speaker 2: you know, And I think like I got a chance
- 12:30Speaker 2: to work with them a couple of times and just
- 12:32Speaker 2: kind of go over to mics and and experiment with
- 12:34Speaker 2: them and play. And it was so cool because I've
- 12:36Speaker 2: never seen I've never seen it actually, like Joe still
- 12:39Speaker 2: he like still has like so when they're sampling stuff,
- 12:42Speaker 2: it's not like they're going to splice like.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Everyone else everyone.
- 12:45Speaker 2: He's really he's really pulling out records and and finding
- 12:48Speaker 2: moments in there and sampling the real time still as
- 12:51Speaker 2: they're like writing, And I'm like, dude, it was so
- 12:53Speaker 2: neat to see because I've never seen that.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Does somebody sample and.
- 12:57Speaker 3: To record that's how they actually do it, Yeah, as
- 12:59Speaker 3: opposed to.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so easy for us now, which thank god,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I would I like that about it.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I would be fucking lost if it was up to me.
- 13:09Speaker 3: You're like, man, if I gotta go sit in this, go.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Like high hat one thirty bpm and just that one.
- 13:19Speaker 1: You know, that's so sick to do that now, I'm like,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I wouldn't change it for the world.
- 13:23Speaker 2: But it was cool to see that, like he's still
- 13:25Speaker 2: he's still dedicated to you know, like and doing DJs.
- 13:29Speaker 2: It's like really doing like when people are really using
- 13:31Speaker 2: records still, it's so fun.
- 13:33Speaker 4: That's gotta be cool, like for you, like, have you
- 13:35Speaker 4: realized that you because you know, I always say we
- 13:38Speaker 4: grew up having a dream, and then when we accomplished
- 13:40Speaker 4: accomplish the dream. Like if somebody were to tell probably
- 13:44Speaker 4: you ten years ago that you'd have.
- 13:46Speaker 3: A million views on YouTube, you'd be like, oh, yeah,
- 13:48Speaker 3: fucking right.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Well, you know, like I feel like when we hit
- 13:51Speaker 4: those dreams, like we don't even like take time to
- 13:54Speaker 4: like really appreciate it.
- 13:55Speaker 3: You know, I try, it's always by what's next.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I try. I try to.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I try to now, like I'm trying to get to
- 14:00Speaker 2: that point, but you know, you're so in it that
- 14:02Speaker 2: you're like I'm sting.
- 14:03Speaker 4: In a room with Mike Shanoa and like the link apart, guys,
- 14:05Speaker 4: I'm like freaking out.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Oh man.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that was definitely one of those times where we
- 14:10Speaker 2: were talking about things and I was just like, look, guys,
- 14:13Speaker 2: like I've stoked that we're friends, but just don't ever
- 14:15Speaker 2: forget that I'm gonna be more of a fan and
- 14:17Speaker 2: I'll ever be your friend.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Like I love you so much.
- 14:19Speaker 2: You know, like I'm I'm just here to like soak
- 14:22Speaker 2: in sponge in all the little stories, like tell me
- 14:25Speaker 2: fucking everything. Yeah, I know everything, you know, because they're dude,
- 14:28Speaker 2: and they're just like man crosso. Recording vocals with Mike
- 14:32Speaker 2: Chanoda was like, such a he's such a he's such
- 14:35Speaker 2: a fucking genius when it comes to that, because he'll
- 14:39Speaker 2: he'll do this thing to which I'm like such a
- 14:41Speaker 2: chameleon because I grew up on such a different type
- 14:43Speaker 2: of music. So if we're doing something rock, I just
- 14:45Speaker 2: instantly kind of find myself gearing my voice towards this
- 14:48Speaker 2: particular sound, or like if we're doing like some motown,
- 14:52Speaker 2: I kind of gear my voice towards like and I
- 14:54Speaker 2: kind of play a character a lot, you know.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And he kind of.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Broke me down and was like, okay, okay, okay, we'll
- 14:59Speaker 2: just try this take again and we could be the
- 15:01Speaker 2: most fucking heaviest part of the song.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And he's like, but don't give me such rock and
- 15:04Speaker 1: roll teddy.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Give me, like, give me but try that one out
- 15:08Speaker 2: and see what that character. So I was like, okay,
- 15:09Speaker 2: is there in between of those two that you can
- 15:11Speaker 2: kind of do?
- 15:12Speaker 1: Okay?
- 15:12Speaker 2: So why don't you give me? Like you're like, why
- 15:14Speaker 2: don't you give you a more like indie rock voice?
- 15:17Speaker 2: So why don't you give me more of this kind
- 15:18Speaker 2: of voice? Try some fucking weird give me musical theater,
- 15:22Speaker 2: ted right here, like you're our off. Just give me
- 15:24Speaker 2: some offer, you know, and he's and we'll just he'll
- 15:27Speaker 2: kind of like car of it.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I'll just be like, damn.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I never thought those things would go together, you know,
- 15:30Speaker 2: because my brain just goes like like, you.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Know, and I don't. I don't think the trade change
- 15:35Speaker 1: my voice to not fit what it is.
- 15:37Speaker 4: You have the ability to do so much like if
- 15:39Speaker 4: you drop the country album tomorrow, nobody would think, yes.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I would be like, yeah, that's that's what I that's what.
- 15:43Speaker 3: If you did a full R and B album, the plan.
- 15:46Speaker 1: That's the plan. Man.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I hope to I hope to be able to just
- 15:49Speaker 2: kind of I always I always wanted to.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Say that, like, uh, I will forever be.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I could be second best at anything for sure, and
- 15:57Speaker 2: that's enough, Like I can. I can because you couldn't
- 16:00Speaker 2: this person and you couldn't, you know, like Chris Brown
- 16:03Speaker 2: couldn't put out a country record. I mean he could
- 16:05Speaker 2: I'm sure he crushed it, but he does his thing.
- 16:07Speaker 2: You know, people would be like George Straight wouldn't put
- 16:10Speaker 2: out a you know, like you couldn't put him an
- 16:12Speaker 2: R and B record. I mean you could, I'm sure
- 16:13Speaker 2: you could, but they would do their.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Thing, you know.
- 16:15Speaker 2: And so I always like gave myself this, like I
- 16:18Speaker 2: will be second best in every one of these things.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Don't you worry.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I think I can guarantee you I'll be second best
- 16:23Speaker 2: at all of them.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Did you listen to a lot of hip hop?
- 16:26Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 16:26Speaker 1: Absolutely, man in Georgia, I'm sure, yeah, dude. But that's
- 16:29Speaker 1: I think that's what it was. Just this the melting
- 16:31Speaker 1: pot of of culture, culture itself. Man.
- 16:34Speaker 2: We had all the best country music, we had all
- 16:36Speaker 2: the best soul music, we had the best hip hop music, everything,
- 16:39Speaker 2: all the best rock music.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Everything came from Georgia. Man.
- 16:41Speaker 2: And I'm so lucky and fortunate to be raised and
- 16:44Speaker 2: and and that this culture and melting pot and and
- 16:48Speaker 2: see so many different avenues.
- 16:50Speaker 1: And sides of of of American culture.
- 16:52Speaker 4: You know, we just had Turbot, who's a producer for Gunna.
- 16:55Speaker 4: He had he did Drip Too Hard, which is diamond.
- 16:57Speaker 4: But I just interviewed him before you came here, and
- 16:59Speaker 4: I told him that you were coming. He got super
- 17:00Speaker 4: He's like, yo, connect us, no way Turbo probably know
- 17:04Speaker 4: his producer, sure, but he's huge.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Well, I was like, we got Teddy Swim. He's like
- 17:09Speaker 3: Teddy Swim.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I would I would be. I'll be absolutely honored. Man,
- 17:12Speaker 2: what a what a gangster man? That guy is fucking yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 2: he's He's him, dude. I would love I would be.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I'll be honored.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Uh growing up in the South, were you a college
- 17:21Speaker 3: football guy?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Absolutely? Man, you fucking know it. It's a good day
- 17:26Speaker 2: to be a dog. I mean we we didn't make it.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I think I think we got I think we got
- 17:30Speaker 2: fucked out of getting the national championship and getting our
- 17:32Speaker 2: three peat.
- 17:32Speaker 1: But it's whatever.
- 17:33Speaker 3: But she's so crazy how it's like it's really like
- 17:37Speaker 3: a religion in the South.
- 17:38Speaker 1: It is.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Man.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I love it too. Man. I got to go to that.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I got to go to the National championship last year
- 17:43Speaker 2: here in l A, you know, And it was like
- 17:45Speaker 2: before the absolute spanking we put on him, and it
- 17:48Speaker 2: was just, dude, I've never been so fucking hammered in
- 17:50Speaker 2: my life. It was the time of my life, dude,
- 17:52Speaker 2: just screaming, man. And not too long ago, I think
- 17:55Speaker 2: like a couple of years ago now, we we had
- 17:57Speaker 2: closed out our tour in Georgia Theater and Athens and
- 18:00Speaker 2: we end up becoming good friends with this.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Guy, Josh Brooks.
- 18:03Speaker 2: He's an athletic director there and he let me and
- 18:05Speaker 2: my my tour manager, my best bud Curtis, kind of
- 18:09Speaker 2: see the whole, like the whole, the whole athletic department,
- 18:12Speaker 2: you know.
- 18:13Speaker 1: And it was dude, it was nuts.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Man. There's like he's like, it's like the best fucking
- 18:17Speaker 2: hundred million dollars can buy, you know what I mean.
- 18:19Speaker 2: It's like it's crazy in there, dude. I got uh
- 18:22Speaker 2: and I met I met Kirby Smart right, the coach.
- 18:25Speaker 2: And I've never been like starstruck by anyone before, you know,
- 18:28Speaker 2: like cause you would think it'd be like somebody that
- 18:30Speaker 2: I look up to that that would really leave me like,
- 18:33Speaker 2: but it was it was the football coach for me
- 18:35Speaker 2: that like really he was just like how you starting?
- 18:38Speaker 1: How you doing?
- 18:38Speaker 2: Man? And I was like I was like yeah, hi, yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 2: He's like so you so you're playing at Georgia Theater.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I was like yes, sir. Yes, I've seen a lot
- 18:47Speaker 2: of cool bands there. Man, yes, sir, thank you sir.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I'm so shy.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I couldn't figure out what the fuck to say to
- 18:53Speaker 2: Kirby spart and I was like, I was like, I
- 18:56Speaker 2: walked away from.
- 18:56Speaker 1: That, like what the fuck? Why was I so struck
- 18:58Speaker 1: by that?
- 18:59Speaker 4: But I go do the same ship, like I'll meet
- 19:01Speaker 4: like because I think as I'm in the field, like
- 19:02Speaker 4: if I didn't meet a musician or a rapper or
- 19:05Speaker 4: an artist, like it's cool to meet him, but I've
- 19:07Speaker 4: met everybody, you know, so it's like, but if I
- 19:10Speaker 4: meet like an actor or like a wrestler.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah that's he, that's yeah. Yeah, fuck exactly.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Man, I'm like so excited to meet Like like I
- 19:17Speaker 4: met Jimmy Hart hal Cogan's manager from the eighties at
- 19:20Speaker 4: a restaurant once, and I was just like, oh, I
- 19:23Speaker 4: got I gotta go bother him while he's eating, Like
- 19:26Speaker 4: I'm not that guy, but I'm gonna walk up to
- 19:28Speaker 4: Jimmy Hart the Mouth of the South and just be like, hey,
- 19:32Speaker 4: I know you're eating, but like before you leave, can
- 19:35Speaker 4: I get a picture?
- 19:35Speaker 3: And he was like of course, young man, And.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I was like, well, thank you, man.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Yeah that that I don't care, like like if it
- 19:41Speaker 4: was like you know, but I'm just you know, like
- 19:44Speaker 4: if I ever met Larry David, I'd be besides myself,
- 19:46Speaker 4: you know.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah, fucking Dwayne the Rock Johnson walk right now.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I'll pass out, dude, I'd absolutely freak out if you
- 19:51Speaker 2: just yeah, well man, Will Smith walked in here right now,
- 19:55Speaker 2: flip up, dude, I'm just like, bro are Dave Chappelle.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I actually got the last number, which was cool to me. Man, God,
- 20:04Speaker 1: Martin Lawrence, Man, that's number one.
- 20:06Speaker 3: You see Chappelle's news stand up is.
- 20:08Speaker 1: He's the best man. He's man, he is the greatest. Man.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I gotta I got a tattoo of him right here
- 20:12Speaker 2: on my thought to race right here man.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Him and Martin Lawrence playing Jerome.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Oh I love it.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, man, he's right here. That's my favorite show
- 20:21Speaker 2: of all time, Man, Martin and Martin Is. Martin's like
- 20:24Speaker 2: my my go to bedtime show every day.
- 20:27Speaker 3: You can always throw.
- 20:28Speaker 1: It's the best show ever. Man.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Me and my pops used to watch that and He's
- 20:31Speaker 2: just it's just the funniest man, funniest, greatest show I
- 20:35Speaker 2: think of all time.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I really I will give I will give Martin's greatest
- 20:38Speaker 1: show of all time.
- 20:39Speaker 4: I always say, like, when I talk about Martin, it's
- 20:41Speaker 4: either like as a as a kid, it was like
- 20:43Speaker 4: Martin or Fresh Princes, different shows but still very both
- 20:48Speaker 4: like integral parts of my childhood. And I mean Martin
- 20:52Speaker 4: was funnier obviously with you like some real life lessons.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you did, you did man, you really did Man.
- 20:58Speaker 2: And and it's a it's so good. I just recently
- 21:00Speaker 2: listened to the I've listened to the Will Smith book.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You know, Will.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know it's and it's a it's quite
- 21:06Speaker 2: funny because he's talking about he was talking about how
- 21:09Speaker 2: in the first and I didn't even notice until I
- 21:11Speaker 2: went back and watched some of them again that he
- 21:13Speaker 2: was like you could see him like clearly mouthing everybody
- 21:16Speaker 2: else's lines, and I didn't.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I didn't know until he was like sharing that story
- 21:19Speaker 1: and I went back and watched something. You can just
- 21:21Speaker 1: see him.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Like, yeah, everybody's lines.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Crazy, I work at that. What's your favorite Chappelle show skit?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Man, I probably have to say, I frollably to me,
- 21:33Speaker 2: it might be that Friends episode, you know, Charlie Murphy
- 21:36Speaker 2: Man Rest and Peace.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Also, dude, that was a good one.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And I just rewatched.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Me and my wife just watched the stand up Special
- 21:43Speaker 4: and I was like, all right, I got to put
- 21:44Speaker 4: Chappelle show on because to me, the most flagrant hilarious
- 21:49Speaker 4: skit ever put on television is Clayton Bigsby.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, I was.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I was about to say Bagsley's dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 21:58Speaker 2: he's just blind.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Clayton.
- 22:01Speaker 3: We want to see your face, we want to see.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Your five Yeah, he said, you want to see.
- 22:05Speaker 3: My face off, and his head exploded something.
- 22:09Speaker 2: It's something that like it's something that only he could
- 22:11Speaker 2: get away with, you know of it, Like he's he's
- 22:14Speaker 2: just he's the best of that man, and you can't
- 22:16Speaker 2: bat an eye.
- 22:16Speaker 1: And then he just pushed the boundaries. Man always does.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yeah. And then Tyrone Biggham's doing fear factors.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I don't know, he said, I don't.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Know if you know this, Joe Rogan, but I smoke rocks.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and he walks.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Right across the hot stones like yeah, No, Chappelle, gus Man,
- 22:33Speaker 2: he is the greatest of all time.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Man.
- 22:35Speaker 4: I feel like the best comedies, like as a kid,
- 22:37Speaker 4: like not the best, but some of the best, like
- 22:39Speaker 4: that didn't last long enough and The boon Docks.
- 22:41Speaker 3: I don't know if you watched The boon Docks.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I love. Yeah, we we missed out.
- 22:45Speaker 3: We got two great seasons.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Yeah, the third season wasn't written by the ogs, so
- 22:48Speaker 4: it wasn't as great, but the first two seasons, Like,
- 22:51Speaker 4: if I could see the Boondocks do like a Krashawn
- 22:55Speaker 4: Rock Blue Face episode in twenty twenty four, it be,
- 22:58Speaker 4: it'd be incredible.
- 22:59Speaker 2: They could they they she has to do for a
- 23:01Speaker 2: come back? Everything comes back right there? One one one
- 23:04Speaker 2: guy been list like watching a lot. Uh, this is

- 23:32Speaker 2: can't quit cry like I laughed.
- 23:33Speaker 3: I like about what he like what Shane Gillis does
- 23:36Speaker 3: is so good.

- 24:03Speaker 3: He's dead dog.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I was no.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I messaged him, like, you know a couple of times.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I messaged him one time to say like, hey man,
- 24:12Speaker 2: you're the greatest alive right now, you know, and then
- 24:16Speaker 2: then you know, we.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Changed a Merry Christmas too. I was like, well we
- 24:18Speaker 1: got to hang one day.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Man.
- 24:19Speaker 1: You know.
- 24:20Speaker 2: So we've talked a couple of times on Instagram, but
- 24:22Speaker 2: I'm like, that's the dude. I would just absolutely love

- 24:38Speaker 4: I actually got to I was near Shane Gillis. I
- 24:42Speaker 4: was in Austin. My friend's a rapper named Freddie Gibbs.
- 24:46Speaker 4: He went on Rogan and I went with him and
- 24:49Speaker 4: I was like, I saw Joe Rogan and met him
- 24:52Speaker 4: at his place, super cool spot.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Bet uh.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Later on that night we go to a comedy show.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Everybody's there, but I go up to Joe Rogan and
- 24:59Speaker 4: I'm like, hey, man, I started eating shrooms because your podcast,
- 25:02Speaker 4: and so I pulled out some shrooms and I was.

- 25:09Speaker 3: And I was like, okay, I'll have to. I'll have two.
- 25:12Speaker 4: So I was off of fucking shrooms and I also
- 25:15Speaker 4: had an edible and I was drinking dude, and I
- 25:17Speaker 4: had one of the most fried, yeah, bugged out, tweaked
- 25:23Speaker 4: out nights of my life in Texas.
- 25:24Speaker 2: It was just that's the place to go do it though,
- 25:27Speaker 2: you know, just a bunch of beautiful landscapes.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Everything's flat.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Have you ever had like a terrible trip?
- 25:33Speaker 1: No, actually, man, I've had.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I've had some moments, you know, but I feel like
- 25:37Speaker 2: they're always led to like real profound like I've had.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I've had like I've had, like on the other side,
- 25:44Speaker 2: I've had a couple where I just like just solved
- 25:46Speaker 2: and I was like, God, this is perfect, this is
- 25:48Speaker 2: every It's always taught me something really good. I think
- 25:50Speaker 2: the closest thing I ever had to one that was weird.
- 25:53Speaker 2: So my best friend, smooth Jamil bridges Man, he we
- 25:57Speaker 2: we had went for his twenty first birthdays and his
- 25:59Speaker 2: dad like live in Vegas, and we we we're gonna
- 26:02Speaker 2: bring a bunch of rooms and we're like, fun, we
- 26:04Speaker 2: didn't figure out how we're gonna fly with these.
- 26:05Speaker 1: He just flying out some mushrooms, you know. But we
- 26:08Speaker 1: were we were fucking.
- 26:09Speaker 2: So we decided we decided to just take a gigantic
- 26:13Speaker 2: just eighth the mouthful Man and it got an eighth
- 26:15Speaker 2: of it apiece and and when dude, dude, it was
- 26:19Speaker 2: the worst situation of my life. I mean, the flight
- 26:21Speaker 2: was great because it was like from from like daytime
- 26:24Speaker 2: to night time east coast from Atlanta to West coast,
- 26:26Speaker 2: and I saw like the sun setting, but we were
- 26:28Speaker 2: also flying spirit so I might have been helpful, you
- 26:31Speaker 2: know what, It might have been helpful because it was
- 26:33Speaker 2: nothing to watch, you know, So I know, so I
- 26:36Speaker 2: was just looking out the window for five.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Hours, like and you're like this.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but getting on the flight, like the flight was
- 26:43Speaker 2: absolutely breathtaking, you know, And but like it was Saturday
- 26:48Speaker 2: night at Atlanta Airport, the business airport ever, and I'm
- 26:51Speaker 2: fucking tripping face on mushrooms going through t s A.
- 26:55Speaker 2: And that was like, that was the worst thing that
- 26:57Speaker 2: has ever happened to me. That was like I was,
- 26:59Speaker 2: that was like, I don't know how I'm gonna get
- 27:01Speaker 2: through it. I just felt like I was like walking
- 27:02Speaker 2: with my backpack like fucking robot. I've been there, and
- 27:04Speaker 2: everybody was just like I thought.
- 27:06Speaker 4: I thought everyone was staring at TSA, hammered on anything
- 27:09Speaker 4: as well, just vibrating like fucking shoes off.
- 27:12Speaker 1: You're like, yeah, thank god for free check nowadays.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Not that I'm doing mushrooms at the airport anymore, but
- 27:19Speaker 2: I thought, if I was right now in my life,
- 27:21Speaker 2: would be the prime time check would.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Be the time or you know when you go to
- 27:25Speaker 4: like like a private jet or something.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly right now is a prime time to go
- 27:29Speaker 2: through DSA.
- 27:30Speaker 3: In Vegas, and you're just primed up for Vegas as
- 27:33Speaker 3: soon as yeah, man.
- 27:34Speaker 2: And we we spent like five days for his twenty
- 27:35Speaker 2: first birthday, and you know, we're well just young kids
- 27:38Speaker 2: and fucking having the time of our life. It was magical.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Vegas is funn Yeah, but it's like two or three
- 27:44Speaker 2: days max for me.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I used to live there. Five was this fucking exist.
- 27:48Speaker 3: You guys end up at the Spearmint Rhino at all?
- 27:50Speaker 1: No, it did not.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I was just a great streak.
- 27:52Speaker 2: I went, I went, I saved up like five hundred
- 27:54Speaker 2: dollars and I went and I just courselotted it and
- 27:57Speaker 2: I left with like six hundred bucks after five days
- 27:59Speaker 2: of Yeah win.
- 28:01Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, babe, you're one hundred bucks after
- 28:03Speaker 3: a week.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah. I was like that's pretty good. That's pretty sold.
- 28:06Speaker 1: So I now I just stick to the ding dings baby.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't get the I can't get the bug
- 28:13Speaker 2: for it, man, because I just like, I don't have.
- 28:15Speaker 3: The sports gambling.
- 28:16Speaker 1: You'll get the bug. Yeah.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Well see, I see one thing I look about sports gambling.
- 28:20Speaker 2: I was talking to my buddy about this, and I
- 28:22Speaker 2: make like little ass bets like maybe like five dollars
- 28:25Speaker 2: on like a.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Six game parlay.
- 28:27Speaker 3: You know, if it hits you went through.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know and it's it's it's not ship money,
- 28:31Speaker 2: but also it like it's like it makes games not
- 28:33Speaker 2: only more interesting. And usually five bucks for like a
- 28:36Speaker 2: couple of days of dopamine rush, it's like way cheaper
- 28:40Speaker 2: than what i'd pay for dopamine.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Rushes any other time, you know what I mean.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Usually dopamine costs you like a hundred bucks and you
- 28:46Speaker 2: get an hour with your friend, and then you're laying
- 28:48Speaker 2: in bed like fucking god, damn it, I can't sleep,
- 28:51Speaker 2: and then you're just trying to jerk off until you
- 28:52Speaker 2: can pass out.
- 28:53Speaker 1: And that's not happening either.
- 28:57Speaker 3: It's true. Sometimes I'm not trying to tell my wife.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Sometimes I'm like, honey, sometimes you just gotta rubbing out
- 29:02Speaker 4: to get the bed.
- 29:03Speaker 3: It has nothing to do with you, it has with me.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah, then you're fucking laying there until six am, like
- 29:07Speaker 2: you fucking liar. Everybody if they fucking knew what you
- 29:09Speaker 2: you know, you're you're just beating yourself up because all
- 29:12Speaker 2: that dope means gone.
- 29:12Speaker 3: You're going down yourself off.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Yeah, beating yourself up and beating yourself off. Guys.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Fucking that guy's just fucking laying there, like, come on, man,
- 29:21Speaker 2: come on, man, do something for me, baby, I gotta
- 29:24Speaker 2: go to sleep.
- 29:25Speaker 4: There's nothing like trying to go to sleep on shrooms, though,
- 29:28Speaker 4: because then you close your eyes and you're like, fuck.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Have you ever have you ever like fucking boned anybody
- 29:33Speaker 1: on mushrooms?
- 29:34Speaker 2: I always think about it, you know, like or I
- 29:38Speaker 2: always think like, damn, should have tried jerking off. That
- 29:40Speaker 2: could have been cool, you know, And I just never
- 29:42Speaker 2: That's just the last thing on my mind when I'm
- 29:44Speaker 2: when I'm in the middle of a trip, I don't
- 29:46Speaker 2: I'm not like, let's fucking go jerk off real quick.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I just don't think and just being.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Alone jerking trip. I probably only jerked off on shrooms
- 29:55Speaker 3: like twice.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Was it tight?
- 29:57Speaker 3: It wasn't bad.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Okay, that one's gonna be sick, you know, just like.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Screen Oh shit, yeah, headphones on VR, set oculus.
- 30:08Speaker 4: On all the you know what's crazy because I haven't
- 30:11Speaker 4: tried that, but I have an oculus.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he's trying to run that baby.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Yo, the oculus porn while on shrooms.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Take a couple more tops and see what happens to you.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Oh shit, text me to let me know. Wash your
- 30:23Speaker 2: hands first, though, you know, you ever.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Have posts he Hey, Teddy, have you ever had post
- 30:28Speaker 3: nut clarity?
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 30:29Speaker 4: All the time, man, where you're like, you got like
- 30:31Speaker 4: thirteen tabs going on the hub.
- 30:33Speaker 1: God, and you're like disgusting.
- 30:38Speaker 3: You look down and you're like, fuck God.
- 30:41Speaker 1: All these potential fucking jerks you had liked even get
- 30:45Speaker 1: all the tags, you know, I know, I try.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I try my best to just be like you know,
- 30:50Speaker 2: these days, I'm like, man, it's it's it's so awful
- 30:53Speaker 2: for your brain to know that we just have something
- 30:54Speaker 2: new all the time, you know, just have something like
- 30:56Speaker 2: whatever we want, whatever takes our little buttons like it's
- 31:00Speaker 2: it is so naggative.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Those thumbnails you gotta find the thumb nail can't.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Be good for you, terrible, especially if you're trying to
- 31:06Speaker 1: be in love with someone. You know it's probably bad.
- 31:08Speaker 1: So I try to. I try to. Now, I mean now,
- 31:10Speaker 1: currently I'm single, so it's good, you're gonna I can
- 31:13Speaker 1: look at whatever I want to know, but I want
- 31:16Speaker 1: to fallow.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I'm at a spot where I'm longing for companion and
- 31:18Speaker 2: ship and I you know, and I have a hopeful
- 31:20Speaker 2: So I'm trying to be like better about just jerking
- 31:24Speaker 2: off six times.
- 31:24Speaker 4: And what you do is you can sleep on your
- 31:26Speaker 4: hand right and then you wake up and said, and
- 31:29Speaker 4: then you get your your your arms.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Asleep, and you give yourself a stranger.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Stranger. Yeah, the left handed truer for me. It's a
- 31:34Speaker 1: right handed stranger.
- 31:36Speaker 3: That's what they do in jail. They give themselves strangers.
- 31:39Speaker 1: That's a good idea in more than one.
- 31:41Speaker 4: Way, in more than one way, in more than Okay,
- 31:45Speaker 4: So uh, Teddy, this record is is taking off like crazy.
- 31:49Speaker 1: What he said, All right, back to business. Hold on,
- 31:53Speaker 1: let's get.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Back on the road. They're gonna be a rem coming.
- 32:01Speaker 2: You know. We we've we've talked about it, we've chatted
- 32:03Speaker 2: about it, and I would like that, you know. But
- 32:06Speaker 2: also it's the way that the Wrecords doing right now.
- 32:09Speaker 2: We're expecting it to like we've released it in June
- 32:11Speaker 2: and we're expecting to probably peak in around the same.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Time, and it's really just still climbing and climbing and climbing.
- 32:18Speaker 2: So I just I don't I don't know if it's
- 32:20Speaker 2: if we did it, if we did like a remix, now,
- 32:24Speaker 2: I wouldn't want it to like kind of.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't wanted to like split streams and mess
- 32:30Speaker 1: it up.
- 32:31Speaker 2: And so I think we're in the we're in the
- 32:32Speaker 2: decision if like maybe, if the right person comes along
- 32:35Speaker 2: and we do the right way, then maybe.
- 32:36Speaker 3: But you know, never cross streams.
- 32:39Speaker 1: He never crossed streams long unless it's your best friend
- 32:43Speaker 1: or you guys are drunk behind a liquor store.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't split the streams. You don't cross.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I've having a time of my life, man, thank you. Yeah,
- 32:57Speaker 2: But I think I think I think it's gonna be.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I think it's I think it's still grow and doing
- 33:00Speaker 2: great and so uh. And also it's it's something cool
- 33:03Speaker 2: about my first.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Breakthrough to be just radio.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just ship.
- 33:09Speaker 1: It's just your boy on there, man, And I'm really
- 33:11Speaker 1: happy that's it's just kind of me.
- 33:12Speaker 2: And I think for that first, the whole first album,
- 33:15Speaker 2: I didn't put out any any features on it because
- 33:17Speaker 2: I feel I felt like I wanted it to be like,
- 33:19Speaker 2: here's my first fucking big statement, and so I wanted
- 33:22Speaker 2: to just have my I.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Feel like most like great debut albums, at least on
- 33:27Speaker 4: the hip hop side, I'm thinking like Nauseo Magic only
- 33:29Speaker 4: had one feature, you know, like like you want you
- 33:32Speaker 4: want to hear like this is unapologizetically yourself. Yeah, this me,
- 33:36Speaker 4: love me for me, and then if I do collapse
- 33:38Speaker 4: later on down the road, that's cool too. But I
- 33:40Speaker 4: don't want you to come over here just because so and.
- 33:42Speaker 2: So was on the song, right, I yeah, I agree
- 33:44Speaker 2: with that, and and I think it's what's imperative that
- 33:46Speaker 2: I Finally, I think I kind of found where I'm
- 33:49Speaker 2: where I'm you know, where I'm.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Slivering to so nice. Nice, There's there's a there's a
- 33:55Speaker 1: what's the word I'm looking for?
- 33:56Speaker 2: Like a artistic point of view or something, or like
- 34:00Speaker 2: I have my little perspective, thank you, my amalle artist perspective.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I've kind of figured out. I think. Nice.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Are you like, because obviously you're busy running around doing
- 34:10Speaker 4: what you do? How often are you just creating? Like, like,
- 34:14Speaker 4: let's say this cycle right now? Are you still getting
- 34:16Speaker 4: in the studio non stop?
- 34:17Speaker 1: Man? And I'm a I'm a i'm a I'm like,
- 34:20Speaker 1: I'm hungry. I eat just I just like I have to.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I have to. I have to keep writing.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I'm writing writing writing right, Especially when we're on the road,
- 34:26Speaker 2: we don't get the opportunity often so like since i've
- 34:29Speaker 2: been back. I'm just like I'm in a session and
- 34:32Speaker 2: then in an evening session, and I'm trying to turn
- 34:34Speaker 2: out as many options and songs as I possibly can,
- 34:37Speaker 2: because I just I got so much shit that I
- 34:40Speaker 2: want to say right now, and I'm just so fucking
- 34:43Speaker 2: in love with it.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Man.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I went home to Atlanta, and we're supposed I was
- 34:45Speaker 2: supposed to take like kind of a break and end
- 34:48Speaker 2: up staying at my Bak's house for like three days
- 34:51Speaker 2: and just kind of sitting and writing and recording, and eventually,
- 34:54Speaker 2: you know.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Him and his roommates like, bro, we're like done writing.
- 34:56Speaker 1: We're like want to hang out and let's go party.
- 34:58Speaker 1: And I was like, well, I guess you I one
- 35:00Speaker 1: as bad as I do. So I was like, I'm leaving.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Called my buddy Chris Lincoln was like, hey, can I
- 35:04Speaker 2: go over there? And fucking and I mean I rang
- 35:06Speaker 2: in the New Year fucking still, just I just can't
- 35:09Speaker 2: stop it. Just it's like also, I think it's like
- 35:11Speaker 2: maybe a hardcore anxiety thing that I feel like, I
- 35:14Speaker 2: just want to this is where my feelings get out,
- 35:17Speaker 2: and I'd rather much much rather than go to a
- 35:19Speaker 2: bar like a club, just be fucking ship house in
- 35:22Speaker 2: the house on a microphone.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It's just the best.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah, if you want to see me, come to the
- 35:26Speaker 2: studio you know where I'm gonna be Pokemon in your hand.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Yeah, man, little bubble storing.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Oh shit, your tattoos.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Are fucking they're getting there. Man, they're getting there.
- 35:33Speaker 3: What's the most random tattoo? I mean, besides Martin Lawrence's face.
- 35:37Speaker 1: On your leg? So I'll pull it out for this
- 35:40Speaker 1: camera right here. It's so stupid, dude.
- 35:42Speaker 3: So hey, don't pull it out that.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I'm well like, but you can pull the tattoo. If
- 35:47Speaker 1: I ever get that tattooed, it'd be more of a
- 35:49Speaker 1: high and not a hello. You know what I'm saying.
- 35:52Speaker 3: So I went over some people's heads. I'm like, Okay,
- 35:56Speaker 3: I'm a grower, not a show with Yeah.
- 35:57Speaker 1: That's exactly what I mean to say.
- 35:59Speaker 2: I've got no complaints as far and if it were
- 36:02Speaker 2: any bigger, you just be hurting people.
- 36:03Speaker 3: If you don't want to do that, I gotta under
- 36:04Speaker 3: cell so you can over deliver it.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess we'll see if that works. But so
- 36:09Speaker 1: I got this.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I got this tattoo on my back. It was like
- 36:12Speaker 2: three years ago now, and I haven't finished it because
- 36:14Speaker 2: it fucking hurts so bad. Dude, it's the worst pain ever.
- 36:17Speaker 2: And I saw this meme and you know, this meme
- 36:21Speaker 2: of Jesus crossing up the devil. Yeah, and it was
- 36:24Speaker 2: all over the place. And so so I went to
- 36:26Speaker 2: my buddy Derek and I was like, dude, this would
- 36:28Speaker 2: be hilarious to fucking get this done.
- 36:30Speaker 1: And uh, here I show it to you. It says,
- 36:32Speaker 1: fucking stupid. I haven't got a double finished because it
- 36:35Speaker 1: hurts so bad. Oh shit, that's your whole back, I know,
- 36:42Speaker 1: the whole fucking thing.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Man. So and we added Jordan Ones on him too,
- 36:47Speaker 2: which is so stupid, and like, and I got so
- 36:53Speaker 2: much work. I still got background to do on it.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I still got like, I got another like eight hours
- 36:57Speaker 2: on that. And it's fucking just to just to finish
- 36:59Speaker 2: this fucking stupid ass joke that I thought was hilarious
- 37:02Speaker 2: and it's just not, frankly, and.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Now I'm committed, it's funny anymore.
- 37:05Speaker 2: And I don't know what I was thinking due because
- 37:06Speaker 2: if I'm like walking around with my shirt off at
- 37:08Speaker 2: the beach or at the pool, then I know everybody's
- 37:10Speaker 2: just laughing behind my back.
- 37:12Speaker 1: You know, I just made myself a fucking idiot, like
- 37:14Speaker 1: to everybody.
- 37:17Speaker 2: But it's so stupid, and I even think about it too,
- 37:20Speaker 2: like when I'm like, you know, when I'm with my
- 37:21Speaker 2: girl and we're like doing the dirty or whatever, there's
- 37:24Speaker 2: no position where she's seeing my back, so it's like
- 37:27Speaker 2: I'm and I'm not like the best in shape guy either,
- 37:29Speaker 2: so my shirt's.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Just not off often anyway. So it's like what if
- 37:33Speaker 1: I what the fuck was I thinking?
- 37:35Speaker 3: You're committed now?
- 37:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I gotta finish it. Yeah, I might go get
- 37:39Speaker 2: put under the fucking anesthesia though, and just like please.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it is shit though. Fucking back tattoos. Fuck man,
- 37:46Speaker 1: it hurts so bad.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Yeah, my whole back's done.
- 37:48Speaker 1: It sucks. God damn.
- 37:49Speaker 3: So before you go, you're.
- 37:51Speaker 4: From the South, there's been a lot of disparaging comments
- 37:55Speaker 4: about In and Out Burger from people from the South
- 37:57Speaker 4: when they come to LA they say, In and Out's overrated.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Let's talk fast food for a sec. Okay, you guys
- 38:03Speaker 3: got Zaxby's down there.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Zaxbyst fucks. Yeah.
- 38:05Speaker 3: We love raisin canes too, that's good.
- 38:07Speaker 2: I like raisin canes. I get down on that, I think.
- 38:10Speaker 2: I think for me though, the the uh in and
- 38:13Speaker 2: Out Burger, I think the burger is is top notch.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I do love that burger. Like when I want a
- 38:18Speaker 2: shitty burger, I'm going for that shitty.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Burger like to the top notch fast food burger.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I see that's that's and we can
- 38:25Speaker 2: all agree that the fries are fucking But I think
- 38:27Speaker 2: also too, I found out not too long ago when
- 38:29Speaker 2: I got the fries, that those are the only fries
- 38:32Speaker 2: on the planet that get better like two hours after
- 38:34Speaker 2: they set out like they don't.
- 38:36Speaker 1: They don't get like shitty like McDonald's fries. They actually
- 38:38Speaker 1: kind of get a little bit better.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Or maybe the little style.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe maybe the bar is just so low that
- 38:44Speaker 2: consecut three hours later just steer me that shitty like
- 38:47Speaker 2: fresh potatoes.
- 38:48Speaker 3: They just yeah they here you go.
- 38:51Speaker 1: They're just they're not They're not.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Yeah. See, maybe that's what's wrong with them. Maybe we
- 38:56Speaker 2: just fucking Americans just love just ship toxic.
- 38:58Speaker 3: We do all this process bullshit.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Due. I find when I go to Europe too, it's
- 39:02Speaker 1: same way.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Like when I go get like some fast food like
- 39:05Speaker 2: taco bells like this fucking not near as good as
- 39:08Speaker 2: I wanted it to be.
- 39:09Speaker 3: It's in you're like in like London or something, you know,
- 39:11Speaker 3: can you talk about in London? Yeah, oh wow, that's
