Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: So we're so glad you're here today, because this is going to be an exciting episode, as we welcome Isabel Hawk.
- 0:06Speaker 1: She's a plant-based health coach who has been helping women over 40 transform their health for over 20 years.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Check that out.
- 0:15Speaker 1: She is very passionate about all things health and, by the way, she does have some ways to help you.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Isabel, nice to have you.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Hello, thanks for having me and hello to the viewers at home.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and I love your accent.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You guys know I just love that, so you are tell us where you're from exactly.
- 0:37Speaker 2: So I originally come from Nottingham in the UK, but I live on the Isle of man in between the UK Liverpool and Ireland.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It's a fantastic place to live.
- 0:47Speaker 2: It's like England in the 1950s Everything's just lovely.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So the only way for you to get somewhere do you have to take a ferry, like into?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we take a ferry or we take a plane and we just hope that the weather is good enough for us to go?
- 1:04Speaker 1: I can't imagine that.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So do you have grocery stores and everything there, so you don't have to go?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, we've got everything.
- 1:11Speaker 2: We're just like a little city in the UK, but we've moved on to an island somewhere.
- 1:17Speaker 1: That is really fascinating.
- 1:18Speaker 1: So you're, in more ways than one, a health coach, but I want to know in more ways than one a health coach.
- 1:27Speaker 1: But I want to know can you give us a little bit of backstory why you have such a passion for transforming women's health?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Can you give us a little backstory of what's behind that?
- 1:36Speaker 2: yeah.
- 1:36Speaker 2: So I grew up in the countryside, as I mentioned earlier, and I was surrounded by animals and it was absolutely amazing.
- 1:42Speaker 2: We're either getting wet outside in the cold or we were hanging around with the animals in the summer.
- 1:47Speaker 2: It was great.
- 1:48Speaker 2: But as I got older, I moved to the city, as you do, and to get a job and meet new people, and I became detached from the environment and detached from the animals and I started, like everybody else does, eating junk and sofa and you know, not exercising, not eating right.
- 2:07Speaker 2: And then I I came across a gym one day and I started going to the gym and I started you know, I started to feel amazing once I went to the gym, so I just kept it up and kept it up, but I realized somewhere along the line that the gym's not just good enough.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You have to have the diet as well, plus the environment, the right environment with the right people.
- 2:31Speaker 2: And along the way it's been a learning curve.
- 2:34Speaker 1: What was going on with your like, with your inside and your life before you found the gym?
- 2:39Speaker 1: Did you just like, did you just realize there's got to be something more for your health?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Or were you not really even seeking anything?
- 2:46Speaker 2: So at that point I was young.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Like young people are, they think they've got life by their side, they've got at least another 50, 60 years, or they don't even think about it.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Like 33 is really old.
- 2:59Speaker 2: And when I was younger, this Odyssey 2001 was out and I'm like I'll be 33 when that actually happened.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:08Speaker 2: But then I had children and that's the reality.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Um, you know, when you get children, you have to realize you've got to start looking after yourself, because if you don't look after yourself, who's going to look after them to you?
- 3:24Speaker 2: So so it was a long journey, but it started with the kids.
- 3:28Speaker 1: It started with the kids.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Wow, now you help women who are over 40.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So in a way, you're helping the women who their kids maybe are growing up or they have left the house.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Which is it or both?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Both.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I mean, the reason I help women over 40 is because I had my youngest child when I was 36 and, you know, my body started to have a few problems after that.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and then I started to do some research like what, what's the problem?
- 3:59Speaker 2: Why am I having these problems?
- 4:01Speaker 2: And the problem was I had a huge polyp.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Oh, it was huge.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It was like the size of a tennis ball and I I didn't know what to do.
- 4:09Speaker 2: So I did the research and I found out if you go on a vegan diet, it'll shrink.
- 4:13Speaker 2: So I tried it.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah, guess what it shrank?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Wow, but it didn't disappear.
- 4:19Speaker 2: What it did was it was absorbed into the lining of my womb, okay, which caused all manner of other problems.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I did some more research and I found out that a whole foods plant-based diet yeah, it's the way to go.
- 4:34Speaker 2: So I went whole foods plant-based diet.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I was still exercising, I was drinking plenty of water, I was getting enough sleep, I was trying to hang around the right people and do the right things, and guess what it went Wow.
- 4:52Speaker 1: You said you had a colic.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Describe what that is A polyp, a polyp, okay, sorry, sorry, is that my accent?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Those can be dangerous.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I didn't quite get that language difference.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So after you did all those things, it started to go.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It went away.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, so since February 2019, nothing that's beautiful.
- 5:16Speaker 2: And I transitioned through the menopause quite easily, that's beautiful.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, see, and that's such a testimony and I like that you say it's over 40 because it's for a lot of women and in my audience it's not too late.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You know, I had my second child when I was 36.
- 5:35Speaker 1: And I realized all of a sudden I felt like someone picked me up and threw me against the brick.
- 5:43Speaker 1: So there's definitely something that goes on and I thought I was pregnant for the third one and I went to the doctor and they did some tests and when I came back for the results she says I don't know how you're sitting here it had affected my thyroid.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And she goes they did these tests twice because they could not believe your thyroid was this inactive.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I had hypothyroid and that has been.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I mean, I've gotten it down.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I don't like taking a bunch of pills, so I know there's a way to eat your way to health.
- 6:19Speaker 1: So that's why I'm very I believe in what you're saying.
- 6:22Speaker 1: So what would you say to someone like me?
- 6:25Speaker 1: I mean, thyroid problems is so common, I think, especially in the US or maybe worldwide.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I'm your patient.
- 6:34Speaker 2: What would you say?
- 6:35Speaker 2: The first thing I would say is always consult your doctor.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Sure.
- 6:39Speaker 2: If you're on medication, consult your doctor.
- 6:42Speaker 2: If it's an extreme illness, you're not quite certain what the problem is, consult your doctor.
- 6:44Speaker 2: If it's extreme um illness, you're not quite certain what the problem is, consult your doctor.
- 6:47Speaker 2: So good, um, I'm not a doctor, right, a health specialist.
- 6:52Speaker 2: So I didn't go to university to study medicine, right, that's yeah.
- 6:58Speaker 2: But I do have over 26 years, six years experience in, you know, health, fitness and with, with the last 12, 15 years with um, vegan diets and plant-based diets, wow, so I've helped a lot of women overcome the menopause.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I've helped people overcome weight challenges.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, depression and anxiety.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Those, those are big ones.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the saying that you are what you eat it is actually true.
- 7:29Speaker 2: You are what you eat.
- 7:31Speaker 2: If you eat a lot of processed food with a lot of additives, a lot of salt, sugar, fat, you're going to feel very much different to if you eat natural stuff, right, and the one tip I would give people is, if you need to look on a label to see what you're eating, don't eat it wow, don't eat it, don't eat, don't.
- 7:53Speaker 2: What now, if you see, so if you have to pick your food and it has a label on it and you have to see what the ingredient, oh shoot, I understand, because that's not food, that's food product.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Wow, so good.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Did you guys hear that?
- 8:09Speaker 1: If you don't understand what's in your ingredients and it makes no sense, it's not the real deal.
- 8:17Speaker 1: So what are some of your testimonies?
- 8:20Speaker 1: I know you've dealt with women, like you said, including weight loss.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Can you give us a testimony?
- 8:26Speaker 1: Let's go for weight loss.
- 8:27Speaker 1: What testimony have you had?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Because I know you have really helped a lot of people.
- 8:34Speaker 2: So I'll give you an example of a lady.
- 8:37Speaker 2: She was in her late 50s at the time.
- 8:40Speaker 2: She had gone through a hysterectomy.
- 8:43Speaker 2: She'd put on a lot of weight.
- 8:44Speaker 2: She was really depressed and she didn't fit herself and she felt like she'd lost herself.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So we sat down, we worked out who she wanted to be, where she wanted to go and what she wanted in the end.
- 8:57Speaker 2: So it wasn't just dealing with the weight loss, it was dealing with the problems underneath the weight gain so good so we worked it out.
- 9:06Speaker 2: We set some goals and we make sure that the goals are huge, because if you can achieve your goals in five months, six months, a year, they're too small, Okay, okay.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So we set huge goals which you can't possibly achieve and then we put a step-by-step process in which is fun.
- 9:23Speaker 2: So she wanted to lose 50 pounds in six months and we went you know, let's just have fun with this.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Okay, With the fun.
- 9:34Speaker 2: She lost 50 pounds in six months, Okay.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Now tell me, how did you put fun into losing weight, Isabella?
- 9:42Speaker 2: Well, people consider exercise as something disastrous, something that's going to change their life for the worse, like you're interfering with my Netflix.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't have to be like that.
- 9:56Speaker 2: It's so good they kill themselves in the gym as well, and you don't have to.
- 10:01Speaker 2: So if you loved dancing at the age of nine, the chances are you can revisit that and love dancing again.
- 10:08Speaker 2: So you don't have to lift weights in the gym.
- 10:12Speaker 2: You can dance.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You can swim, you can do yoga, you can do whatever exercise, as long as you move for 35 minutes minimum every single day.
- 10:22Speaker 2: That's so good.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I love that because a lot of times people like did things when they were little and they really had fun, and then revisiting it, they can still do that and there could be a benefit on the on the energy side or on the weight side.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I love that.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I just think that is so cool because, you know, when I had a weight problem, um, like I'm trying to think, when it started 13 to 25.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And I this is just an example I went the opposite way.
- 10:53Speaker 1: So I lost weight.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But after I lost weight I didn't want to exercise anymore because for those many years I wasn't making it fun.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Okay, I was running four to five, uh miles, I was doing the swimming thing and I was a professional golfer, so I was working.
- 11:10Speaker 1: But it wasn't until I don't think I changed my habits as much.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Except sometimes it could be hormonal, couldn't it?
- 11:21Speaker 1: So, like about 25, all of a sudden, the weight started coming off and the sad thing, isabella, I'm going to admit it, I had no motivation to do the weights and do the exercise.
- 11:33Speaker 1: It wasn't until just later that, like, wait a minute, I could at least walk, you know.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So I love that.
- 11:39Speaker 1: So let me ask another question how about this is a good one.
- 11:43Speaker 1: How would you help us improve our energy levels?
- 11:48Speaker 2: Oh, that's simple.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Just eat the right food, and one of the things I tell my clients is mindset is everything.
- 11:57Speaker 2: So if you're, going to a challenge, because I never say you're going on a diet.
- 12:01Speaker 2: It's a lifestyle.
- 12:02Speaker 2: But we start with the challenge, because the challenge is three days or 30 days.
- 12:06Speaker 2: It's easy because you've got a limit on it, but we make it fun and we plan it so the journey is enjoyable.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Okay, so you know, everything in life is affected by what we eat and what we eat affects our mindset.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So if you go through any change exercise, diet or anything If you go to any change exercise, diet or anything feeling like you're punishing yourself or you're going to go without you're depriving yourself, you can have challenges and they're going to be overwhelming and all consuming.
- 12:40Speaker 2: So the best thing is just one step at a time.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I love that Because, like I know in my past, okay, I'm going to go on a diet.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Then every fast food sign I noticed.
- 12:52Speaker 1: But then my brother, my oldest brother, was really encouraging.
- 12:55Speaker 1: He said, tracy, you got to stop thinking diet and start thinking maybe body fat.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And so I stopped thinking about it, so I didn't notice all the fast food and it was like a mindset set shift and I wouldn't be surprised if his advice, you know, helped me to lose weight.
- 13:12Speaker 1: By the time I was 25 and I've kept it off, if anything.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I've gotten skinnier and I try to eat.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I I gotta you're gonna might not like this, but I have this plant-based organic protein.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I thought I'm just gonna drink it and but I'm not going to tell you what's inside.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Oh gosh, okay, so we got it.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Now, this is a tough one.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Okay, this is a tough one.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Someone's got something that's very chronic.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It might be a disease and I believe God has put answers in people like you to go back to the basics.
- 13:48Speaker 1: So they might have the disease.
- 13:49Speaker 1: It might be because of their diet or just might have hit them.
- 13:56Speaker 2: How would you help someone like that?
- 13:56Speaker 2: Again, first of all, they need to consult their doctor.
- 14:00Speaker 2: But appreciate that.
- 14:01Speaker 2: A step-by-step approach to changing the mindset and the belief system.
- 14:06Speaker 2: First, yeah, because a lot of the time we're given a lot of labels and we fall back on those labels and people own those labels.
- 14:16Speaker 2: So when you have an identity of being someone with an illness, it's very hard to come out of it.
- 14:23Speaker 2: That's so good.
- 14:24Speaker 2: If you identify as somebody with diabetes, it's going to be very hard for you to change your lifestyle around because your brain is going to try and protect you because you have this label.
- 14:41Speaker 2: So in changing your mindset, in changing your identity, you can be somebody who identifies as someone who's on a wellness journey.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, much easier that way, much easier.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I love that you said identity, because I'm really big about the voice and I'll often think that your voice is really your identity and action.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And I like that you are talking about that because I know I've heard of studies where if someone says like well, I'm bound to have a heart attack because my dad had a heart attack and his well, your brain takes that information and does something with it.
- 15:22Speaker 1: That's not good, so I like that.
- 15:24Speaker 1: A lot of what you're talking about is definitely based in good mind, neuroplasticity and your neurons, and you obviously understand that.
- 15:34Speaker 1: You just explained it.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Someone who thinks they have a chronic disease it may be chronic, but there is ways not to gloss over it but to walk in a program and not continue to say I have a chronic disease, I have a chronic, Do you?
- 15:47Speaker 2: agree with that.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, your brain's got two functions to keep you alive and ticking and to keep you safe, and it believes whatever you tell it.
- 15:56Speaker 2: So why not tell it something positive?
- 15:59Speaker 1: That's why I like when you said you had fun with the weight loss, because you really can inform your brain and you know, like I said, your brain doesn't know the difference.
- 16:07Speaker 1: And next thing, you know, and if you don't have any evidence, so your brain's going to play this replay.
- 16:12Speaker 1: But you can change that evidence.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I'm not talking mumble jumble positive thinking at all.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I'm talking about neuroplasticity, where you can rewire your brain and say, hey, wait a minute.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I may not be at my goal of losing weight yet, but I'm no longer going to look in the mirror and just tell myself I'm fat because I'm informing my brain, who knows no difference.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Why don't I say I'm on a journey to lose weight and it's fun because I got Isabella as my coach.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Come on, all right, I've asked you quite a few.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Let me see if I can find one more, because I know this is helping people.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Isabella, let's see how about?
- 16:49Speaker 1: Just we talked about it.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But what when someone I don't know what you do, when someone really has a disease they have?
- 16:59Speaker 1: Maybe they have cancer, maybe they have what's that?
- 17:03Speaker 1: Well, I mean, how do you is that?
- 17:05Speaker 1: Did you find that difficult?
- 17:07Speaker 1: Or do you just try to change the mindset of yeah, you have a disease, but let's see if we can't work on that, let's see if we can't find some answers for you.
- 17:16Speaker 1: How do you do that?
- 17:17Speaker 1: When you're looking at someone who has a disease, it might be cancer.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Let's say Okay.
- 17:22Speaker 2: So when you have an illness or a disease, it's very easy to just focus on that.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And when you focus on just the negative you get this sense of impending doom?
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, things, if you focus on who you used to be, who you were going to be we.
- 17:40Speaker 2: So we take people back to when they were their happiest.
- 17:44Speaker 2: We ask them to map out their journey how they would would have liked it to be so good, instead of focusing on something like cancer that can take their life away from them very quickly.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah, focus on what they can achieve while they're here, so they focus on their family, they focus on their friends, they focus on their bucket list or the number one thing they wanted to achieve before they left the planet in 30 years.
- 18:11Speaker 2: But we take the emphasis away from the illness and we know who they can be.
- 18:17Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I mean, I really appreciate you saying that and I know you always say you know, consult your doctor.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But you just spoke life, you know, for someone to change their viewpoint, and I'm sure even changing their diet, as hard as that might be for someone, I'm sure they could see like a drastic change just by that, don't you think?
- 18:40Speaker 2: yeah, I mean, I had one client.
- 18:42Speaker 2: It was very funny.
- 18:43Speaker 2: She laughs a lot about this now.
- 18:44Speaker 2: But when I said you're gonna have to eat more green stuff and shoot green yes, broccoli, swiss chard, all the green things.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Cabbage, what?
- 18:59Speaker 2: No, okay, you can't do it in plant form.
- 19:04Speaker 2: But what about in liquid form?
- 19:05Speaker 2: Worse, no, okay.
- 19:09Speaker 2: So let's learn to cook.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Okay, I can do that.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Okay, we started off with soup, now with soup in the UK, you boil it, you blitz it.
- 19:18Speaker 2: No sign of the green stuff anymore.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Blitz it, what's that mean?
- 19:22Speaker 2: So we get a blender and we, until it's liquid Okay, it's not even liquid.
- 19:27Speaker 2: So she started with putting the plants into the soup and working from there, and then from there it was pasta sauces and then it was different types of potato, and then she's getting very creative she's not making burgers and things and she went from saying I can't cook I've never cooked, I don't know how to cook and I'm definitely not eating green stuff to being one of the best cooks I know oh, what a testimony.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And you do.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You do offer plant-based recipes and meal plans, so that right now, we're we're going to continue on, but right now, that's just intriguing someone.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Where can they find some of that?
- 20:07Speaker 2: You can find me on.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I've got several websites.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I've got yourplantbasedhealthcom, which is recipes only.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Then I've got createthatbodycom, which is a bit of both just tells you information, really.
- 20:21Speaker 2: But you can find me on Instagram or Facebook.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And that's Isabella Hawk, because that, to me, is fascinating.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Like that, this woman who thought she couldn't cook found some of your recipes, followed your advice and you consider her one of the best cooks.
- 20:40Speaker 1: That's incredible.
- 20:41Speaker 1: And she got her greens in there, wow.
- 20:44Speaker 2: We did, we did.
- 20:44Speaker 2: And now she tells everybody she's my best ambassador.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I go do the Isabella thing because look at me.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I love that.
- 20:54Speaker 1: She's.
- 20:54Speaker 1: What a great testimony.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Now you offer one-on-one coaching, don't you?
- 20:59Speaker 2: Yes, I do.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I offer one-on-one and group coaching.
- 21:01Speaker 1: And group coaching.
- 21:02Speaker 1: How do they find you one-to-one?
- 21:05Speaker 2: So normally it's through referral.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I don't do advertising, but they can find me on Instagram, facebook or on the website.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Because that's just so needed.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And what do you enjoy?
- 21:15Speaker 1: More one-to-one or group coaching?
- 21:18Speaker 2: It depends, because in group coaching it can be very dynamic and it can be very fun and interesting.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Put on workshops and, you know, make it so people feel young again.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah, but on the one-to-one you get that personal connection where you really bond with the person and it's not like training, it's not teaching, it's bringing people along that journey, so when they have problems you can identify with that problem, you can understand it, you can help them out.
- 21:48Speaker 2: There's more emphasis on the individual yeah, I'm sure you enjoy both.
- 21:55Speaker 1: That's such.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I mean, you seem like you.
- 21:57Speaker 1: You find someone who has a problem and you know you can solve it, but you don't just jump all over them and say this, this, this.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I really like the fact that you get to know them and you take the whole psyche into effect, their identity, identity, their mindsets.
- 22:12Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Usually, when you think of a health coach or you know, you think, oh, they're just going to talk about it, but you really take the whole person in.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Tell me, why is it important?
- 22:24Speaker 1: I think you've answered this in so many ways, but why is it important to take in their mindset, their identity and other aspects of who they are into health?
- 22:35Speaker 2: Because in today's society it's quite easy to believe that we're all broken.
- 22:40Speaker 2: But we're not broken, we don't need fixing, we just need a different way to look at things.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Wow, when you offer people a different way to look at things and you give them a step-by-step process, they can normally figure out the bigger picture by themselves.
- 22:56Speaker 2: So it's important to empower people with the right knowledge and the right tools and skills to enable them to do it for themselves and then to go on and teach other people.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Wow, that's so good.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I love that.
- 23:10Speaker 1: So what is your greatest joy in in what you do, or what's your passion behind it?
- 23:17Speaker 2: so my greatest joy is seeing people succeed.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I get all emotional it's like listening to opera, but it's the success behind it just because a lot of people believe they're broken and they say why?
- 23:33Speaker 2: Why's life happened to me?
- 23:36Speaker 2: Why did it?
- 23:36Speaker 2: This set of cards?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Why did god do this?
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yes, we, none of that's true.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Life's like a chessboard and you've got an equal number of black squares, equal number of white squares to get from one side of the um table together and we just have to know how to get across there.
- 23:54Speaker 2: It's a strategy.
- 23:55Speaker 2: So the, the, the passion I take from that is helping people across the, the, the game of life.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Really, it's not just about plants, it's not about eating plants, it's not just about exercise or the environment.
- 24:12Speaker 2: It's about creating that whole person that then can then go on and create other whole people, and then we can build a community and a world community, a global community that is so beautiful.
- 24:26Speaker 1: And I would add, you take the whole person, all those pieces, and personally for me, you add a relationship with God and those pieces seem to come together.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Now I know on the opposite side, people can be religious.
- 24:39Speaker 1: They can think, oh, I have God, he's going to help me.
- 24:42Speaker 1: But yeah, god gave us health coaches.
- 24:44Speaker 1: God gave us doctors I'm sorry, I'm getting on a soapbox here.
- 24:47Speaker 1: God gave us people to help us.
- 24:49Speaker 1: That doesn't mean you ignore them.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yeah, god will help you.
- 24:52Speaker 1: But God also gave us Isabel Hawks.
- 24:55Speaker 1: God also gave us you know the great.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I just feel that way because sometimes people get stuck in almost a religious box, thinking, well, god will take care of me, but then they go and watch Netflix all the time and they don't exercise.
- 25:09Speaker 1: And take care of me, but then they go and watch netflix all the time and they don't exercise.
- 25:13Speaker 1: And I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone listening.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I'm sorry but you know it.
- 25:15Speaker 1: So I'm calling you out.
- 25:17Speaker 2: The thing is, if you're not religious, or even if you are religious, if you take the bible and you use it as a manifesto for good living, whoa one, one thing that comes out of the Bible, and that is you can have all the knowledge in the world, you can have all the inspiration in the world.
- 25:34Speaker 2: God can give it to you, but unless you put it into action, come on, you're not going to get anywhere.
- 25:40Speaker 2: So you know people that say you know, I've got God.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yes, you do, he's there all the time.
- 25:47Speaker 1: But you also have to implement some action, because he's given you the tips, yeah, and I think he gives us the gift of faith, he gives us the gift of the power of the Holy Spirit, so he doesn't leave us tool-less, he gives us all the tools.
- 26:01Speaker 1: And I don't mean to offend anyone who's listening, but I've just been around a lot of people who did not take the right steps, and I was married to one.
- 26:12Speaker 1: He passed away and he just would not go to the doctor, could have saw that pancreatic cancer, you know, and he was a great man, he loved Jesus and everything, but he just was not taking the steps.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And it's sad to say that, I'm sad to say that, but I saw it and my kids saw it.
- 26:32Speaker 1: And it's sad to say that, I'm sad to say that, but I saw it and my kids saw it, and they could not stand it.
- 26:36Speaker 1: So words to the wise.
- 26:37Speaker 1: You know he died, pancreatic cancer snuck up on him.
- 26:39Speaker 1: He probably could have identified it earlier and it was probably one of the most brutal cancers of pain.
- 26:46Speaker 1: So keep that in mind.
- 26:48Speaker 1: So any parting thoughts do you have for us, any instructions or encouragement?
- 26:54Speaker 2: We all think that we've got another 10, 15, 20, 30 years left, but we don't know when it's our time to go.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Not really so, if we take one day at a time and treat every day as though it's our last day and make the most out of the day we're given.
- 27:11Speaker 2: So try not to be miserable.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Try to hang around with positive minded people.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Try to take good from everything, even if it's something that's bad.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Try to eat the right foods.
- 27:22Speaker 2: It's not always easy.
- 27:24Speaker 2: In most cases it's really hard but try to educate yourself on the things that are really good for you and for your family.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Try to exercise, even if it's just a walk down to the shops and back again.
- 27:37Speaker 2: As long as you're moving, clean your house, mow your grass that's movement and always, always, always, believe that you can be the best version of yourself, no matter what age, what situation or who you've been told you are or who you believe you are.
- 27:55Speaker 2: You have the right to be the best version of yourself that's beautiful.
- 28:01Speaker 1: That is so beautiful.
- 28:02Speaker 1: So, once again, if someone wants to get in touch with you, is ding you on.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Instagram, facebook's probably the best place.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Okay, facebook.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Facebook comes through to WhatsApp.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I love WhatsApp.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Is it Isabella Hawk?
- 28:20Speaker 2: Spell your last name, I think it's Isabella Hawk 3 on Facebook, but don't worry, there's not three of me, there's just the one.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I appreciate that and you know, I have no doubt that Isabella will get back with you, because that's her heart is to see you.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Well, so, Isabella, thank you so much.
- 28:37Speaker 1: This has been just like really I don't know what the word is motivating, inspiring, and to me personally, hey, god made the plants.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Let's start eating the plants that we're supposed to eat.
- 28:49Speaker 1: He didn't make Doritos, he didn't make.
- 28:53Speaker 1: You know, I'm sorry, okay, once a week maybe, but he didn't make that stuff.
- 28:57Speaker 1: To me it doesn't taste good in the regards that you can get to a point where you don't want to eat that stuff.
- 29:03Speaker 1: So that's a fun place.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Well, thank you, isabella, and I really can't wait to hear more testimonies, as people come to you and find hope, help in so many ways.
- 29:14Speaker 1: So, thank you.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Thank you for having me and thank you for everybody that's listening.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, thank you guys for listening.
- 29:21Speaker 1: This is Unleashing Kingdom Voices.
- 29:22Speaker 1: If you want more information, I will put Isabella's information in the show notes.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Please go down there and check her out.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Tell her you loved listening to her.
- 29:32Speaker 1: And you know we don't get these kind of knowledge often.
- 29:36Speaker 1: When we do, we got to grab them in and have them sit down and talk with us.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So thanks again for listening to Unleashing Kingdom Voices.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I will talk to you in the next episode.
