- 0:13Speaker 1: Welcome to the show with your boy and I see
- 0:14Speaker 1: in the place to be My main man on the
- 0:16Speaker 1: ones and twos The Human Sports Almanac, the legend himself
- 0:21Speaker 1: Jason Baum. I have not watched the SPS in quite
- 0:30Speaker 1: some time. Obviously there's clips that circulate, but me personally,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I have not watched the spis bomb. First and foremost,
- 0:39Speaker 1: how are you feeling and how much of the SPS
- 0:42Speaker 1: did you watch?
- 0:43Speaker 2: Goody, life is good. My fast pitch team was on
- 0:47Speaker 2: Upsettlert last night, but we came out of it. Okay,
- 0:51Speaker 2: shot up my guy Luke in a three run bomb.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Okay, hold on, fat, there's there's there's fast pitch kickball.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what's the I mean, what explained to me
- 1:03Speaker 1: the difference between fast pitch and slow pitch kickball?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Slow pitch kickballs when you played in pee, they just
- 1:08Speaker 2: rolled the ball to you. In fast pitch, you can
- 1:10Speaker 2: pitch any sort of way that you choose, as long
- 1:13Speaker 2: as the ball gets to the plate on at least
- 1:14Speaker 2: two bounces.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Okay, so when it goes over to play, it can
- 1:18Speaker 3: be in mid air.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Interesting, Yeah, it's it's it's tough, man. But
- 1:24Speaker 2: our team was we were playing like the third worst
- 1:27Speaker 2: team in the league last night, and we ran. We
- 1:29Speaker 2: ran in some trouble. But my guy Luke had some
- 1:32Speaker 2: clutch pitching. Got a couple of fielders choices with the
- 1:36Speaker 2: bases yak and one out, and then comes up the
- 1:39Speaker 2: next inning it gets a three run bomb, a couple
- 1:41Speaker 2: of leads. The cup of depicit the five to four.
- 1:43Speaker 2: If we're able to take the game from.
- 1:44Speaker 3: There, shout to Luke. Luke sounds like the sho heel
- 1:48Speaker 3: tatany in this league.
- 1:49Speaker 2: He's pretty good, man, he's Uh, he's very multi fact.
- 1:51Speaker 2: You can also play the outfit and played at a
- 1:54Speaker 2: very high level.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah, man, you boys, fast pitch, fast pitch kickball is crazy.
- 2:00Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But you watched the tournament. To watch the tournament when
- 2:03Speaker 2: I'm back in February.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Uh, I'll pass.
- 2:07Speaker 1: But uh, you know, I spent enough time at you know,
- 2:12Speaker 1: people's sporting events. I think I'll pass on that one.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But uh, that is interesting at this fast pitch and
- 2:17Speaker 1: slow pitch. But yeah, man, the Spies, uh the Knicks
- 2:21Speaker 1: with the clean sweep. The Knicks go out there, they
- 2:25Speaker 1: win all five Spis that either the players of the
- 2:28Speaker 1: team are nominated for Brunson got three himself Best Male Athlete,
- 2:35Speaker 1: Best NBA Player, Best Championship Performance. OG got it for
- 2:41Speaker 1: best shot, and then the entire team won for Best Team.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And I have not stopped celebrating this championship. I probably
- 2:51Speaker 1: never will. And last night really got me back in
- 2:54Speaker 1: all the fields I I had, uh had a little
- 2:58Speaker 1: something to celebrate yesterday. So you know, I've got got
- 3:01Speaker 1: a bottle of wine and you know, had to start,
- 3:03Speaker 1: you know, have myself, you know, a few glasses. And
- 3:07Speaker 1: as I'm sitting there and you know, I'm pulling up.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You know, I watched the comeback from Game four last night.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I watched the you know, the last like eight minutes
- 3:17Speaker 1: of Game five, the clincher. Last night, I watched a
- 3:20Speaker 1: couple other videos about bruntson and I mean, like you know,
- 3:24Speaker 1: I actually watched the SP's but wasn't able to see
- 3:28Speaker 1: the very end, so I didn't see Cat's speech, and
- 3:32Speaker 1: I watched that last night, and his speech is phenomenal.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Cat. I'm telling you, man, Cat is a guy.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You put him in front of a microphone or in
- 3:38Speaker 1: front of a screen, and he does very very well.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I don't know about being much of an actor when
- 3:43Speaker 1: you're when you're seven feet tall. But he's just just
- 3:46Speaker 1: he's just a well spoken guy. And you know, you
- 3:49Speaker 1: could tell he was prepared, and uh, his speech was dynamite.
- 3:54Speaker 3: It was fantastic. It was so good. It literally brought
- 3:56Speaker 3: it to you to my eye.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And I'm just continue to just bask in this, all
- 4:02Speaker 1: this Knicks love. I saw a guy today in Arizona.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Saw a guy today had on my bruns in Jersey
- 4:08Speaker 1: and he was like, yo, your Knicks man. He's like,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I'm from Cali. I'm a Lakers fan, but I enjoyed
- 4:13Speaker 1: watching you guys, and I made a lot of money.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I kept they kept they kept, you know, doubting you guys.
- 4:18Speaker 1: They kept making the odds rough against you guys, and
- 4:20Speaker 1: I just kept going, just kept hitting it. I saw
- 4:23Speaker 1: that if you made a one hundred dollars bet when
- 4:29Speaker 1: the Knicks started their thirteen game winning streak and you
- 4:33Speaker 1: just continue to let it ride throughout the rest of it,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I want to say, it was like I might have
- 4:39Speaker 1: been in the millions that you would have won. It
- 4:41Speaker 1: was some crazy number.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Like God, damn.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I personally don't bet on the next I try my
- 4:46Speaker 1: best not too because I realized that I'm not.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I'm not you know, I'm biased.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Though, if this last playoff run, if I would have
- 4:55Speaker 1: you know, went ahead and uh just wrote it out
- 4:57Speaker 1: with them, I would have done. Okay, But I'll take
- 4:59Speaker 1: the championship over a little bit of extra money, no doubt,
- 5:02Speaker 1: for sure. But if it's in the millions, I guess
- 5:04Speaker 1: that's not a little bit right. But yeah, I also
- 5:06Speaker 1: got the customs. The Customs came in, the custom shoes.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Go ahead, brom, don't you got goody?
- 5:11Speaker 2: I actually found a tweet, not about the exact winning streak,
- 5:15Speaker 2: but if you had bet one hundred dollars on the
- 5:16Speaker 2: Knicks in each of their lowest points of their four
- 5:20Speaker 2: finals comeback wins, you would have turned one hundred dollars
- 5:23Speaker 2: into roughly twenty four point four.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Mils if you live, so so, if you live, bet
- 5:29Speaker 1: when they were down twenty nine or when they were
- 5:30Speaker 1: down twenty two against Cleveland.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Yeah exactly, Oh yeah, game no in the in each
- 5:36Speaker 2: of the four finals.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Games okay, okay.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Game one down sixteen, game two down eighteen, game four
- 5:41Speaker 2: to twenty nine, game five fifteen, Yeah, and you'd be
- 5:46Speaker 2: really rich right now.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:48Speaker 1: Yeah, And if and if we only played forty six
- 5:50Speaker 1: minute games, the you know, the Spurs would have won.
- 5:52Speaker 3: For one. You know, I.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Think the quotes that continue to come out of that
- 5:56Speaker 1: organization about they're just of accountability and inability to give
- 6:02Speaker 1: the Knicks any credit.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I'm telling y'all now, it's so clear to me that Pop.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Is you know, is not as involved as you know
- 6:09Speaker 1: he clearly once was when he was the president and
- 6:12Speaker 1: the coach, and you know you thought that he was
- 6:14Speaker 1: still kind of, you know, overseeing things. I just can't
- 6:17Speaker 1: imagine Pop or you know, guys like Duncan or Genoblei
- 6:22Speaker 1: or Parker talking like this. It really is crazy, But
- 6:25Speaker 1: I hope it adds fuel to the fire.
- 6:26Speaker 3: You know.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I saw Jayalen Brunson have a quote the other day
- 6:29Speaker 1: where they were talking to him and he was talking,
- 6:31Speaker 1: we're talking about next season and how hey man, I'm
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm you know, I obviously people are gonna be coming
- 6:38Speaker 1: for us. Obviously you're still gonna have naysayers. And if
- 6:43Speaker 1: you want to go back and you want to be
- 6:45Speaker 1: able to repeat the type of work that you're gonna
- 6:48Speaker 1: have to put in, you're gonna have to be better
- 6:49Speaker 1: than you were last season and JB feeling that way
- 6:52Speaker 1: and already thinking like that, and he said, he said,
- 6:54Speaker 1: he said, I forget exactly what the quote was, but
- 6:57Speaker 1: he said something about, well, you know, not only he said,
- 6:59Speaker 1: you know, there's there's some there's some things that we're
- 7:01Speaker 1: gonna need to be able to do to be able
- 7:03Speaker 1: to continue to raise the level. And I feel like
- 7:05Speaker 1: I already know what those things are. And I love that.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I loved that.
- 7:08Speaker 1: He's just the consummate leader. He's the best. He's just
- 7:12Speaker 1: he's the best everything.
- 7:14Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I just you can't get this guy more accolades. I mean,
- 7:17Speaker 1: it's just great that they went up there they swept
- 7:19Speaker 1: the s because it was like a whole.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Like New Knicks parade.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And he's also, uh, he's just getting his props all
- 7:27Speaker 1: over everywhere.
- 7:28Speaker 3: You can't deny this guy anymore.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean, I was listening to Cameron and stephen A
- 7:32Speaker 1: talk about him. I was listening to Big Perk with
- 7:37Speaker 1: Rich Paul and Max Kellerman and you know, obviously Park
- 7:41Speaker 1: has been his biggest champion for some time now. But
- 7:44Speaker 1: you know, Rich Paul was talking about how he exposed Wemby.
- 7:48Speaker 1: You know, Park was talking about how you know, yeah,
- 7:51Speaker 1: like the fact that Wemby everybody went in looking for,
- 7:55Speaker 1: you know, him to dominate the series. He's gonna win
- 7:58Speaker 1: Defensive Player of the Year forever. And Brunching in that
- 8:01Speaker 1: Game four comeback, he put Wemby in action twenty one times.
- 8:08Speaker 3: And the.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Short that I put up from last episode, you know,
- 8:13Speaker 1: I one of the people commented on it. They were like,
- 8:15Speaker 1: I didn't even realize that, you know, Wemby was guarding
- 8:17Speaker 1: them as much until I watched this short, because I
- 8:19Speaker 1: put a bunch of clips of him just over and
- 8:21Speaker 1: over again on Wemby pulling up, hitting threes, going past
- 8:25Speaker 1: him doing his thing.
- 8:26Speaker 3: And you know, it's just.
- 8:29Speaker 1: The Spurs fans on Twitter and how hard they cope
- 8:36Speaker 1: and how much they are trying to figure every way
- 8:40Speaker 1: to say, oh you just well, you guys got that one,
- 8:42Speaker 1: but you'll never get it again. You know, the Spurs
- 8:44Speaker 1: will be this and be that. Listen, we'll see what happened.
- 8:47Speaker 1: We'll see what happens, but we know what happened. And
- 8:51Speaker 1: you know, at some point you just gotta you just
- 8:54Speaker 1: gotta take some time and just give the give JB
- 8:57Speaker 1: and give the team some props. And that's what most
- 8:59Speaker 1: of the world was doing your occasional spurf and the
- 9:03Speaker 1: pacer fans.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Are real bitter.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Oh well, so and so wasn't healthy and this and that.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You know, there's a very interestingly titled article that came
- 9:13Speaker 1: out and it was like, you know why this Knicks
- 9:17Speaker 1: championship was, uh, you know why everything had to you know,
- 9:21Speaker 1: fall fall its way and other teams that like it,
- 9:24Speaker 1: this has happened for And all it did was just
- 9:26Speaker 1: list literally every single team for the last however many
- 9:29Speaker 1: years and all the different things that had to happen
- 9:31Speaker 1: and go their way for the team to win a championship.
- 9:33Speaker 1: First and foremost, you've gotta have injury health. You gotta
- 9:36Speaker 1: have injury luck. And secondly, you know, you gotta get
- 9:41Speaker 1: hot to a certain extent, and there's always going to
- 9:44Speaker 1: be oh well, this guy was hurt, so this team
- 9:46Speaker 1: wasn't as good or this happened or that happened. At
- 9:49Speaker 1: the end of the day, the you know, sixteen and
- 9:52Speaker 1: three largest point differential in the history of the NBA
- 9:58Speaker 1: in a playoffs plus fourteen a half points per game
- 10:02Speaker 1: we were talking about then, and uh, yo, I look,
- 10:04Speaker 1: JB always looks smooth. Everybody wearing black and white. I
- 10:08Speaker 1: love the fact that everybody at the SP's was looking good,
- 10:10Speaker 1: you know, with the nixt they're they're they're classy, they
- 10:12Speaker 1: they they they all obviously communicated, and they came in.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Nobody's wearing no stupid shit. There's nobody's wearing a mustard
- 10:20Speaker 1: leather suit or no dumb shit like that. So yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 1: I just I'm happy. I'm happy to see the guys
- 10:27Speaker 1: do their thing, and uh, I was real happy to
- 10:31Speaker 1: get these in. These are the customs that I got
- 10:34Speaker 1: after we won the chip. I tell you, the custom shoes,
- 10:41Speaker 1: the custom Nikes, and I've gotten some custom vans before too.
- 10:45Speaker 1: They make them a little bit better when they're making
- 10:47Speaker 1: that one of one shoe. You put that shit on
- 10:49Speaker 1: your foot and you feel it. It's like this is
- 10:50Speaker 1: a little bit more comfortable than the mass produced touts,
- 10:54Speaker 1: the you know that you that I typically get.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Bom. Have you ever got any custom shoes?
- 10:59Speaker 2: I've actually I had a custom pair of baseball leads
- 11:01Speaker 2: once in high school. They're pretty sick. I did want
- 11:05Speaker 2: to jump in on a couple of things. First off,
- 11:07Speaker 2: for other things to go right, you know, in a
- 11:09Speaker 2: championship run, you also need to play forty eight minutes
- 11:11Speaker 2: of basketball, not forty six looking at you, Spurs, and
- 11:15Speaker 2: you can't win games analytically either. You got to just
- 11:17Speaker 2: win the actual game. In terms of the Brunton quote,
- 11:21Speaker 2: he said, you definitely lose a lot of time, obviously
- 11:24Speaker 2: for the right reason. We got it done to be
- 11:26Speaker 2: able to go through the summer and realize, all right,
- 11:28Speaker 2: there's a lot on your plate now. How are you
- 11:30Speaker 2: going to remain hungry, How are you going to remain focused?
- 11:33Speaker 2: How are you going to push the envelope for you
- 11:35Speaker 2: to be better next time? So those are all questions
- 11:38Speaker 2: I believe I have the answers to. I feel like
- 11:40Speaker 2: I know what I'm doing to push myself. But only
- 11:42Speaker 2: time will a time.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yo.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Man, that shit gets me fired up, Yo, that shit
- 11:48Speaker 1: gets me fucking go. Let's go, JB. Let's go. Got
- 11:53Speaker 1: the whole band back together except for Mitch. Mitch is
- 11:56Speaker 1: out there practicing threes and in Boston. Yo, I'll tell
- 12:03Speaker 1: you if they start letting it shoot threes or if
- 12:06Speaker 1: he if this motherfucker goes and shoots like sixty five
- 12:08Speaker 1: percent for the lot, I'm gonna be pissed. Okay, don't
- 12:10Speaker 1: fucking all of a sudden learn how to shoot free throws.
- 12:12Speaker 1: That would piss me off, But I'm speaking of shooting. Yo,
- 12:15Speaker 1: Tyler Nickel, double Nickel, where's fifty five?
- 12:19Speaker 3: Now?
- 12:19Speaker 1: That motherfucker's gonna play this year because he can shoot? Man,
- 12:23Speaker 1: he can't shoot, and he can. He's not like just
- 12:26Speaker 1: you know, I have to be standing here with my
- 12:27Speaker 1: feet said, no, no, no, no. He is a very
- 12:30Speaker 1: versati shooter and he can play a little d If
- 12:32Speaker 1: he can seriously, if he can stick on the floor
- 12:34Speaker 1: on the defensive end, then he's gonna he's gonna really, really,
- 12:37Speaker 1: really be a contributor this year. And Mo Diauara he's
- 12:43Speaker 1: he's a better overall player, but he can't shoot like him, man,
- 12:45Speaker 1: And that ship is just so valuable in this league.
- 12:48Speaker 1: When you put him on the floor with a Brunton,
- 12:49Speaker 1: what you're gonna do? You gotta stick close to him.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And if you're sticking close to him, Brunton has more
- 12:57Speaker 1: room to operate. So he's gonna play.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Sure.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I saw somebody the other day ask is you know,
- 13:03Speaker 1: is Brunson a better winner than Kyrie? Okay, so if
- 13:08Speaker 1: we're talking winner, you got a couple of players in
- 13:10Speaker 1: the league that are stars that have four rings currently,
- 13:15Speaker 1: you know, and Steph and and and Bron, so it's
- 13:19Speaker 1: hard to put him over them. But if we're just
- 13:22Speaker 1: talking about in the like, you know, just entire basketball career,
- 13:27Speaker 1: when you look at high school, college and now winning
- 13:30Speaker 1: a chip in the NBA being finals m v P,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you can make an argument he's the best winner in
- 13:34Speaker 1: the NBA right now. I saw somebody talking about Winter
- 13:37Speaker 1: in sports. I think a guy like a Patrick Mahomes
- 13:39Speaker 1: is still probably somebody you got to talk about. You know,
- 13:41Speaker 1: Dodgers just one two back to back, so you know,
- 13:44Speaker 1: Toni is a baseball player unlike anything we've ever seen.
- 13:47Speaker 1: So that's that's part of that conversation. But I think overall,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I mean other than than than than then Bron and
- 13:56Speaker 1: and uh and Steph, who are we talking about in
- 13:58Speaker 1: the NBA? And I mean that's the thing. A guy
- 14:01Speaker 1: like a Kyrie going into this last season, it'd be
- 14:05Speaker 1: really hard to find many basketball fans that aren't Knicks
- 14:09Speaker 1: fans that would say that Jalen Brunson is better than
- 14:13Speaker 1: Kyrie Irving. I think that's totally flipped now. I think
- 14:16Speaker 1: almost everybody would say that Jalen Brunson is as good
- 14:19Speaker 1: as him in his head, as good of.
- 14:20Speaker 3: A career as him.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Honestly, Kyrie oft injured and you know JB did it
- 14:27Speaker 1: as the unequivocal best player in his team. Kyrie was
- 14:31Speaker 1: not that he was playing with Lebron. James with with
- 14:33Speaker 1: prime Lebron. So I got him over Kyrie, and you
- 14:37Speaker 1: know I would There's you know, there's nuanced conversations best
- 14:42Speaker 1: player in the league, Who I would you who I
- 14:45Speaker 1: would have if I.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Was starting a team, Because the starting a team.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Thing is okay, no matter what other for I put
- 14:54Speaker 1: with him, He's going to be effective.
- 14:55Speaker 3: That's not Brunson.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Brunson is a guy who you need four other guys
- 15:00Speaker 1: guy who are first of all, willing to let him
- 15:03Speaker 1: have the keys. If Brunston's not shooting twenty times a
- 15:07Speaker 1: game at least I'm saying seventeen eighteen times a game,
- 15:10Speaker 1: then you're not getting your best value from him. If
- 15:12Speaker 1: he's not, you know, dominating the ball and making the
- 15:15Speaker 1: decisions in the fourth quarter, again, you're not getting the
- 15:20Speaker 1: best out of him. Part of what bright s Brunston
- 15:23Speaker 1: so great is that you know he's playing with his
- 15:24Speaker 1: two best with two of his best friends, his teammates
- 15:26Speaker 1: from back in the day. You know, the Knicks have
- 15:29Speaker 1: maximized him and amplified him as much as you possibly can.
- 15:33Speaker 1: So I think if you're talking about, like, what's the
- 15:35Speaker 1: player that I would take if I was starting a
- 15:37Speaker 1: team right now, because if I take this player and
- 15:39Speaker 1: I had four other all Stars, then are you know
- 15:42Speaker 1: four other players that he's going to be the one that,
- 15:45Speaker 1: no matter what, he's going to be super effective.
- 15:47Speaker 3: I think you gotta go Joker.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Joker could play with anybody because Joker could take ten
- 15:53Speaker 1: shots a game and still be extremely, extremely dangerous and effective.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So I got Joker, and you know he might average
- 16:01Speaker 1: seventeen assists a game if I got you know, a
- 16:03Speaker 1: bunch of other guys who can really play around them.
- 16:05Speaker 1: But I think if you put like Brunson with a
- 16:08Speaker 1: guy like say, like Aunt, I don't think that makes sense.
- 16:11Speaker 1: That's the thing about the Knicks is that it's you know,
- 16:13Speaker 1: it's not a bunch of guys just thrown together. It
- 16:15Speaker 1: is the It is a team that has been there's
- 16:19Speaker 1: not a better Big three and three guys who compliment
- 16:22Speaker 1: each other and who do a variety of thing that
- 16:26Speaker 1: when you put them together, it now gives you elite
- 16:30Speaker 1: as the things that matter most in basketball. Then Karl
- 16:33Speaker 1: Anthony towns Og and Nobi and Jalen Brunson best big
- 16:37Speaker 1: three in the league, point blank period. You know there's
- 16:42Speaker 1: these teams like Philadelphia they try to throw together. You know,
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm this guy, this guy, and this guy. But no,
- 16:47Speaker 1: not Maxie. You're taking away from Maxi by Adam Jayalen Brown.
- 16:52Speaker 1: You're stunting him. You're stunting his growth, his development, his
- 16:55Speaker 1: development into a big time superstar in this league, which
- 16:58Speaker 1: I think Maxi has the potential to be that mother.
- 17:00Speaker 1: He's got to be a fastest student. When that guy's
- 17:02Speaker 1: the ball in his hands, I don't know many people
- 17:04Speaker 1: that are getting up and down the floor or just
- 17:06Speaker 1: you know, closing down the space like he does. But
- 17:12Speaker 1: I'm telling you that Philly team, I don't think it's
- 17:13Speaker 1: gonna work. I don't think it's gonna work. And I
- 17:16Speaker 1: think if they add Bron that just makes it real
- 17:18Speaker 1: hectic over there. But Jesus, this whole Bron thing, I mean, fucker,
- 17:22Speaker 1: Adam Silver came out the other day and said, Yo, man,
- 17:24Speaker 1: we can't make the schedule. It's just do won't, won't
- 17:27Speaker 1: tell us what steam he picks. I feel like he's
- 17:32Speaker 1: got to have it figured out already. I've seen so
- 17:34Speaker 1: many different theories. Oh well, he's gonna wait for this
- 17:36Speaker 1: dead time or wait for after this is over. But uh,
- 17:39Speaker 1: who knows. I don't know, man, But yo, he come on, Bron,
- 17:42Speaker 1: let's go. I want to know.
- 17:43Speaker 3: At this point, I.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Was gonna say, at this point, it's kind of like
- 17:47Speaker 2: his other free agency stuff. He just wants really just
- 17:49Speaker 2: wants the attention on it. You know, it's like, man,
- 17:52Speaker 2: make it high. But you know, there was some little
- 17:55Speaker 2: tea leaves today at the Fanatics Fanatics Xpo where he
- 17:59Speaker 2: was dropping from the process and all this, and now
- 18:01Speaker 2: everybody's thinking he's going to Philly. So we'll see. But yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 2: he really doesn't make him his mind. But Adam Silver
- 18:07Speaker 2: also needs to just make the damn schedule.
- 18:10Speaker 1: No, I mean listen, I get that, dude. I mean
- 18:12Speaker 1: look depending I mean no, he's fucking Lebron. What team
- 18:15Speaker 1: he's on, it's you know, drastically changes things. You know,
- 18:20Speaker 1: Christmas Day, Opening Day, shit, a random Thursday on a
- 18:24Speaker 1: T and T.
- 18:26Speaker 3: What team he's on? Dress I get it. I get it.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I get it from Adam Silver's Adam Silver's point of view.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I feel like Lebron already knows he's just you know,
- 18:34Speaker 1: this is just some like elaborate ritual of his that
- 18:36Speaker 1: he does, which I you know, I don't. I don't know, man,
- 18:40Speaker 1: I the whole like him winning attention. I would hope
- 18:43Speaker 1: that at this point he's he's that doesn't still do
- 18:47Speaker 1: it for him, that that's not still important to him.
- 18:49Speaker 1: But it kind of seems like it, man, with both
- 18:51Speaker 1: him and Rich Paul the way that they're not even
- 18:53Speaker 1: kind of it kind of seems like it really fucking
- 18:55Speaker 1: seems like it between him and Rich Paul in the
- 18:56Speaker 1: way that they're dragging this out, And you know, I
- 19:00Speaker 1: don't know. To me, I don't care, you know, it
- 19:02Speaker 1: really like it's like there's no team that he's gonna
- 19:04Speaker 1: get added to in the East that as a Knicks fan,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna be like, oh shit, damn, Like, you know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: now we gotta deal with this guy.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Nah.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Nah, I'm not worried about it.
- 19:13Speaker 3: But we'll see, We'll see. Yo.
- 19:18Speaker 1: What's up with the all these players complaining about taxes
- 19:21Speaker 1: and how it's not that much money. The latest is
- 19:24Speaker 1: Sebastian Telfair. You got some other guys who have done
- 19:28Speaker 1: it over the years, I mean going as far back
- 19:30Speaker 1: as you know, Spree my man having uh saying yeah
- 19:34Speaker 1: he has kids to feed, uh back in the day.
- 19:38Speaker 1: But then you also have you know a few players
- 19:41Speaker 1: that have talked about this over time, and I think sometimes,
- 19:45Speaker 1: you know, you got to realize, like Sebastian Telfair is
- 19:47Speaker 1: talking about how if you know, you look at his
- 19:49Speaker 1: twenty million that he made over the time he was
- 19:51Speaker 1: in the league, it really only came out to about
- 19:53Speaker 1: a million a year, which you know, ninety nine point
- 19:58Speaker 1: whatever percent of people will never come close to having
- 20:01Speaker 1: that so little tone deaf to be acting like, you know,
- 20:09Speaker 1: that's no money. Especially, I mean, you were sembasted in Telfair.
- 20:11Speaker 1: It's not like you were some great NBA player. You
- 20:13Speaker 1: were a great high school player. You were a very
- 20:15Speaker 1: hyped player, but you didn't have a very good career.
- 20:18Speaker 1: So the fact that you came away with a million
- 20:20Speaker 1: dollars a year, I mean, you know you should probably
- 20:22Speaker 1: be uh pretty stoked about that.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Honestly, Yeah, very much agree with that. The other guy
- 20:28Speaker 2: who really kind of started that conversation aside from this
- 20:31Speaker 2: week where c J. McCollum was on I believe it
- 20:33Speaker 2: was CNBC and he was talking about it was Odell Beckham.
- 20:35Speaker 2: He was on the Pivot with Ryan Clark and I
- 20:38Speaker 2: believe it was a Channing Crowder and he was talking
- 20:40Speaker 2: about how his one hundred million dollar contract like broke down,
- 20:43Speaker 2: and he even mentioned in Donna's Lank even mentioned up
- 20:46Speaker 2: the place like I want to be able to flaunt it.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I can't flawn it like okay, boo boo.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And if you want to be able to flaunt, there's
- 20:53Speaker 1: a cause for that. You know, they say it ain't
- 20:58Speaker 1: tricken if you got it, but you know you are
- 21:00Speaker 1: losing some of that brand you spend it out there,
- 21:02Speaker 1: you flawing it if that's what's important to you. And
- 21:05Speaker 1: then you have the flip side, which, as you mentioned,
- 21:06Speaker 1: like CJ McCollum, he talks about how he has continued
- 21:10Speaker 1: to live on the same budget he had back when
- 21:12Speaker 1: he wasn't sure if he was gonna get that second contract.
- 21:15Speaker 1: He thought, you know, this first contract, this might be it,
- 21:17Speaker 1: this might be all the money. So he's continued to
- 21:20Speaker 1: do that. You have the gronks of the world who
- 21:22Speaker 1: talk about how they like, I've never even touched my
- 21:23Speaker 1: football money. And then you know Kyle Kuzma. It's not
- 21:29Speaker 1: too often that I find myself, you know, agreeing with
- 21:33Speaker 1: or giving props to Kyle Kuzma. But he said, I'm
- 21:37Speaker 1: tired of hearing an athletes say that the millions of
- 21:39Speaker 1: dollars in contracts disappear after taxes and fees. Forty million
- 21:42Speaker 1: is forty million. The problem isn't the system, it's the lifestyle.
- 21:45Speaker 1: No one told you to live like a king by
- 21:47Speaker 1: five cars and bring ten friends employees to live with you.
- 21:50Speaker 1: It's okay to be modest, and they talk about it
- 21:52Speaker 1: like people are gonna feel empathy. People are using cash
- 21:55Speaker 1: back to buy food.
- 21:56Speaker 3: What a trip?
- 21:58Speaker 1: Yeah, man, listen, everybody's got to fucking pay taxes. I
- 22:03Speaker 1: mean Jesus, like like you if you don't at the
- 22:07Speaker 1: end of the day, Oh you know my hundred is
- 22:09Speaker 1: only really forty?
- 22:10Speaker 3: Okay, well.
- 22:13Speaker 1: You got forty, bro, you don't do something with the forty,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you know, I shit, man, it's you know, there's a
- 22:20Speaker 1: certain level of money that once you get that level,
- 22:25Speaker 1: you or your line should never worry about money again.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And you don't have to be a genius. You can
- 22:34Speaker 1: pay people who are smart with money to take care
- 22:36Speaker 1: of you. Make sure you have another person who's looking
- 22:39Speaker 1: at them to make sure that they're not doing no
- 22:40Speaker 1: crazy fucking Burnie made.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Off type shit.
- 22:43Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, Doug, come on, man,
- 22:45Speaker 1: I got I got no no sympathy for these guys.
- 22:49Speaker 1: And I think it's a I think it's a bad
- 22:52Speaker 1: it's just a it's just it's a bad take. It's
- 22:54Speaker 1: not good. People don't like this. People don't like to
- 22:56Speaker 1: talk about shit like this, man, But people don't like
- 22:58Speaker 1: to hear this from from from you know, half percenters. Yeah,
- 23:05Speaker 1: the Mets, So Mets are having a fire sale basically everybody. Uh,
- 23:10Speaker 1: but you know our outfield, uh, Nolan maclan and maybe
- 23:14Speaker 1: Christian Scott are all on the block, it seems like,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and that includes Francisco Lindor. According to some reports, the
- 23:21Speaker 1: people that have reported it have not been like, you know,
- 23:24Speaker 1: it's not you know, it's not Hayman reporting it or
- 23:27Speaker 1: you know, somebody who's really you know, close to the Mets,
- 23:30Speaker 1: or anybody who's uh, you know, uh a quote unquote
- 23:33Speaker 1: reliable source. I would be so disappointed if the Mets
- 23:38Speaker 1: traded Francisco Lindor. He has not had a great year.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I've loved his tenure here. He's a solid fielder. He's
- 23:46Speaker 1: been not just a solid hitter, but I mean as
- 23:50Speaker 1: far as as far as shortstops are concerned, I mean,
- 23:54Speaker 1: he's you know, one of the best hitters and the majors.
- 24:01Speaker 1: You know, you've obviously had some young guys come up
- 24:03Speaker 1: here recently who probably knock him down a couple of
- 24:07Speaker 1: rungs on that ladder, but overall, you know, I just.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I don't know what the plane.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Who's the who's the who's the guy that you're bringing
- 24:14Speaker 1: in to replace him? And as we've seen what the
- 24:16Speaker 1: Mets recently, you know, when you want to make these
- 24:19Speaker 1: big moves and you want to and you want to,
- 24:21Speaker 1: you know, get rid of these guys, it's not just
- 24:24Speaker 1: about like, oh, this guy isn't the guy who's replacing him.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And you know, the Mets were able to pick up
- 24:30Speaker 1: a win in the first game out of the All
- 24:31Speaker 1: Star Break. Maybe they go on some tour to run
- 24:34Speaker 1: and make it interesting again, but you know, City field.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Is dead as it should be.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Actually, to be honest with you, the last time I
- 24:40Speaker 1: turned on a Mets game, it was the last game
- 24:42Speaker 1: before the break. I was, I don't know if it's
- 24:44Speaker 1: like I don't I remember. I don't remember which game
- 24:46Speaker 1: it was, but there was one game where I turned
- 24:47Speaker 1: it on. It was a day game, and I was like, damn,
- 24:49Speaker 1: this is a pretty good crowd for a day game where,
- 24:51Speaker 1: you know, for this team. But uh, if I am,
- 24:56Speaker 1: if I'm David Stern's, you gotta be one of two ways.
- 24:59Speaker 1: You either got to say, okay, I need to do
- 25:01Speaker 1: something like crazy, like like you don't give up a
- 25:03Speaker 1: Lindor for a haul of picks to somebody. I'm sorry,
- 25:09Speaker 1: Hall of Prospects, I should say, or I just uh
- 25:16Speaker 1: at this point, man, you might want to kind of
- 25:17Speaker 1: like lay low to the end of the season, Doug,
- 25:19Speaker 1: because you know they give out an award for you know,
- 25:23Speaker 1: Executive of the Year. You know he's he's he should
- 25:26Speaker 1: get like a penalty. He should have to like like
- 25:29Speaker 1: it should be like when you finished last place in
- 25:31Speaker 1: the fantasy league and there's a penalty. David Stern should
- 25:33Speaker 1: have to do some shit because this has been an
- 25:37Speaker 1: absolute fucking disaster this past offseason and this season is
- 25:42Speaker 1: They've been a disaster, straight up. You can't look at
- 25:44Speaker 1: it any other way. Don't trade Lindor, don't do that.
- 25:47Speaker 1: And there's so many Mets fans I see that, you know,
- 25:49Speaker 1: I wanna wanna just totally switch up, and they dislike
- 25:53Speaker 1: this guy. I think a lot of that's politically motivated.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I think a lot of people that know how him
- 25:57Speaker 1: and his wife feel and they are on the opposite
- 26:00Speaker 1: uh and on the opposite side of the.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Aisle they are. You know.
- 26:06Speaker 1: That that's really affecting how they evaluate him as a
- 26:09Speaker 1: player from there. From from a fans point of view,
- 26:12Speaker 1: I feel like that's a big, big part of this.
- 26:14Speaker 1: And I just feel like overall, man, yo, man, come on, man, Well,
- 26:17Speaker 1: you know he's a couple of years ago when we
- 26:21Speaker 1: went to the NLCS, he was the guy, I mean,
- 26:24Speaker 1: super clutched the home run on the last day of
- 26:27Speaker 1: the season against Atlanta, the three run home run against
- 26:30Speaker 1: the fucking Phillies. That was maybe one of the most
- 26:33Speaker 1: electrifying Mets postseason moments in my lifetime. Don't don't get
- 26:38Speaker 1: rid of franciscoling door. That's not the move. That's not
- 26:41Speaker 1: the move. And then if you do that, then you're
- 26:43Speaker 1: just really just doing a fucking full rebuild. It's not like, hey,
- 26:46Speaker 1: can we make some moves on the margins, get a
- 26:48Speaker 1: new manager. Hopefully we come in next year and you know,
- 26:50Speaker 1: shit kind of well, you know, ball bounces our way
- 26:52Speaker 1: and we you know, we can be a.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Team that contends.
- 26:54Speaker 1: No if you if you're getting really one door, I
- 26:56Speaker 1: feel like you're just going ahead and saying, like, fuck it, man,
- 26:58Speaker 1: we're gonna be bad for a few years, and you
- 27:00Speaker 1: know we're gonna start from scratching with some new guys.
- 27:03Speaker 1: And you know, especially when you have a guy like
- 27:05Speaker 1: Juan Soto, you can't you can't just punt on seasons
- 27:10Speaker 1: and on future seasons like that. You gotta maximize this
- 27:13Speaker 1: time with Soto in his prime, and you got to
- 27:15Speaker 1: try to be your best and you got to try
- 27:16Speaker 1: to contend and go for a championship. But you know,
- 27:20Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see what else we got, yo, don't stop.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Every few years we see somebody that wants to be
- 27:33Speaker 1: in one of these national parks and get too close
- 27:38Speaker 1: to the wildlife, specifically the bison.
- 27:44Speaker 3: These are the biggest fucking things you'll ever.
- 27:46Speaker 1: See, and motherfuckers want to be in a place where
- 27:50Speaker 1: you're out of your car. Quite often they're trying to
- 27:53Speaker 1: get some sort of camera. They're trying to get some
- 27:55Speaker 1: sort of picture, and you're getting too close.
- 27:57Speaker 3: To the bison. Yo, don't stop fucking the bison.
- 28:01Speaker 1: I know you think he's over there, and he's not.
- 28:03Speaker 1: That he can get real close to you, real quick. Thankfully,
- 28:07Speaker 1: this old dude, the dude who got tossed, I mean
- 28:09Speaker 1: just ragged alled. Thankfully, he's uh, I hear he's on
- 28:13Speaker 1: the end, like you know, they think he's gonna be okay.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I'm very surprised by that. It's very very scary. Man.
- 28:18Speaker 1: It looked like, you know, he was with his granddaughter,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and his granddaughter he was trying. He seemed like he
- 28:21Speaker 1: was trying to protect her. She was smart, she was
- 28:23Speaker 1: like all up in the trees and shit, he kept
- 28:25Speaker 1: coming out. I'm sure in that moment, you're panicking. You're
- 28:28Speaker 1: trying to, you know, protect her, You're trying to do
- 28:30Speaker 1: whatever you can. But I don't even understand why what
- 28:33Speaker 1: are you doing walking around right now outside of your
- 28:35Speaker 1: car when this thing is right there, If that thing
- 28:39Speaker 1: is within a football field of view, you need to
- 28:41Speaker 1: be in a car at the very least all this
- 28:46Speaker 1: like safari type shit, like I, you know I at
- 28:49Speaker 1: one point I was researching a trip to Africa, and
- 28:51Speaker 1: one of the things I was looking at was like,
- 28:53Speaker 1: you know, over in like Tanzania doing some sort of
- 28:56Speaker 1: safari type shit. I gotta be in a jit vehicle, Okay,
- 29:01Speaker 1: not know, like ship where the top is opened up
- 29:04Speaker 1: or anything like that, and you gotta stay in your vehicle.
- 29:08Speaker 1: If you've ever seen baum have you ever seen the
- 29:10Speaker 1: video of the people I believe there's somewhere in Asia
- 29:14Speaker 1: and they're in the car and the woman like gets
- 29:16Speaker 1: into a fight with her husband, so she gets out,
- 29:18Speaker 1: tiger goes, snatches her, pulls away, her mom gets out,
- 29:22Speaker 1: runs and goes to help her, and the way and
- 29:26Speaker 1: this now now we're off it's off camera, but the
- 29:28Speaker 1: story goes that, hey, mom didn't make it.
- 29:31Speaker 2: If you've actually never seen or heard of that video,
- 29:34Speaker 2: but that sounds insane in terms of the after safaris,
- 29:37Speaker 2: though you're actually pretty safe in those vehicles. I have
- 29:42Speaker 2: multiple friends. My sister and her husband did the their
- 29:45Speaker 2: honeymoon doing that, and they loved it. So even though
- 29:49Speaker 2: it doesn't seem like it, because you're kind of just
- 29:51Speaker 2: like there's no doors or anything like that. You're mostly protected.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Yeah, listen, you know here independent nick we uh we uh.
- 30:08Speaker 3: I'm not gonna fucking give a disclaimer.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say, this ship you'll never see nobody
- 30:12Speaker 1: like that looked like me getting tossed by no bison.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I'm just saying personally with that, either I think uh,
- 30:19Speaker 2: I think my one swamps or in twenty twenty two
- 30:22Speaker 2: was enough.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, I don't know, man, I
- 30:26Speaker 1: would like to see some shit and some African type shit,
- 30:29Speaker 1: but I can I can see it from pretty far
- 30:31Speaker 1: away and be okay with that. I don't need to
- 30:32Speaker 1: get that close. That's not what I'm saying. Like, you know,
- 30:34Speaker 1: what's the give me the package where you know, the
- 30:36Speaker 1: binoculars package. Give me the binoculars package. I'm good with that.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I don't need to get up close with that type
- 30:41Speaker 1: of shit. These motherfucker's going to get all close to
- 30:43Speaker 1: like a monkey's cage or some shit, and that thing
- 30:45Speaker 1: is snatching you up and fucking ripping off your shirt
- 30:48Speaker 1: to get away from man, fuck that bullshit.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I went to out of Africa down.
- 30:53Speaker 1: And I should say up in uh uh, northern Arizona,
- 30:57Speaker 1: not our north of where I am at least, and
- 31:00Speaker 1: I've been there a couple of times with my family,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and you know, everything is behind a cage and you
- 31:06Speaker 1: know you're seeing it, but you know it can't we're
- 31:08Speaker 1: not and that whole like Tiger Show and everything.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Even when that was happening, I.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Was thinking to myself, I was like, Yo, that motherfucker
- 31:13Speaker 1: just ran and try to just jump over this this
- 31:15Speaker 1: uh this this this this like little fence that it
- 31:17Speaker 1: has here and just ran into the crowd and started
- 31:19Speaker 1: mauling people.
- 31:20Speaker 3: What the fuck? Like I was like pre practice.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I was like thinking about, like what's my exit, Like
- 31:23Speaker 1: I you know, I got snatched up the babies we
- 31:25Speaker 1: were and we you know, we hit over here to
- 31:27Speaker 1: the right, we do that. But and yo, because man,
- 31:29Speaker 1: that shit is scary to me. But I mean out
- 31:32Speaker 1: of Africa's dope. Out of africas dope because it's like
- 31:35Speaker 1: a it's like a it's like a sanctuary, you know
- 31:37Speaker 1: what I mean, Like these aren't like these are animals
- 31:39Speaker 1: that you know, it needed to be taken out of
- 31:43Speaker 1: the wild and put into captivity or some shit like that,
- 31:45Speaker 1: and so they're not, it's not it's not your typical
- 31:48Speaker 1: zoo set up. I've unfortunately went down a couple of
- 31:51Speaker 1: zoo rabbit holes that I think ruined them for me.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I definitely can't do like the Sea World type shit.
- 31:54Speaker 1: That's I just can't. I feel too bad for those things.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Those things are too fucking smart to be living in
- 31:58Speaker 1: a tank. And and uh but the out of Africa,
- 32:02Speaker 1: sheit is nice, man. I have a good time my
- 32:03Speaker 1: family up there. I been up there a couple of times.
- 32:05Speaker 1: I gotta go now again now that my youngest is
- 32:07Speaker 1: a little bit older so she could remember it.
- 32:09Speaker 3: But it's dope.
- 32:13Speaker 2: That sounds sick. I was gonna say though, in terms
- 32:14Speaker 2: of just the Bison, it's gonna be minimum football field
- 32:17Speaker 2: to have for me to be away from those things.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Yo, get the fucking your fucking car, Yo,
- 32:23Speaker 1: what are you doing?
- 32:24Speaker 2: Seriously? You know, I'm stay as far away from that
- 32:26Speaker 2: as I humanly possibly can.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so U.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I yesterday was talking about Pops and we were we're
- 32:33Speaker 1: talking about going to see the Odyssey this weekend, and
- 32:37Speaker 1: he was like, A, you know, I'll just go see
- 32:40Speaker 1: it here, you know, the theaters. That's closest to us.
- 32:42Speaker 1: But I'm like, it's not Imax. He's like, nah, I
- 32:43Speaker 1: don't really care. I'm like that we got to see
- 32:46Speaker 1: the Imax. It was shot with an Imax camera.
- 32:49Speaker 3: You know.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I'll drive We're going to Imax on Sunday, So I
- 32:52Speaker 1: make the I make the reserme, I get the tickets
- 32:55Speaker 1: and make the reservations.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Uh. And I realized right afterwards.
- 32:59Speaker 1: That I'm mad him for twelve team and Sunday at
- 33:01Speaker 1: at noon West Coast time is the World Cup. So
- 33:06Speaker 1: I end up having a like switch him out, call
- 33:09Speaker 1: change him to a later time. But you know, I
- 33:12Speaker 1: can't remember, you know, I was thinking about it, and
- 33:15Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm you know, when was the last time
- 33:19Speaker 1: that I was disinvested in being like.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I really want to make sure I watched this
- 33:21Speaker 3: World Cup final.
- 33:22Speaker 1: But I've watched so much of this World Cup and
- 33:24Speaker 1: so I'm interested to see how it plays out. And
- 33:26Speaker 1: also it's just a whole messy story, you know, the
- 33:28Speaker 1: possibility for him to win too in a row, and
- 33:32Speaker 1: you know, go out like that on top and really
- 33:34Speaker 1: cement himself as the greatest soccer player of all time,
- 33:37Speaker 1: which you know many people think he is already. I
- 33:42Speaker 1: saw our interesting videos talking about how you know, Maridona
- 33:45Speaker 1: is still better than him.
- 33:46Speaker 3: It's just far as like.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Just when it comes to ability, that just when it
- 33:50Speaker 1: comes to the things that he was that he saw
- 33:53Speaker 1: him do. Like he was talking about how he was
- 33:54Speaker 1: kicking the ball as high as he could up into
- 33:56Speaker 1: the air, and then you know he and then every
- 33:59Speaker 1: single time kicking out he did it thirteen times, he said,
- 34:01Speaker 1: so he said. The next day and practice, they all
- 34:03Speaker 1: practiced it, and nobody could do it more than three times.
- 34:06Speaker 1: That's some crazy shit. I mean, that dude was just
- 34:08Speaker 1: a fucking wizard, and I mean he was living hard.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I mean I'm talking about during games, my man had
- 34:19Speaker 1: somebody coming and serving him a like after score and
- 34:22Speaker 1: a goal, like.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Right there on the fucking field.
- 34:24Speaker 1: So you can only imagine how he was conducting himself
- 34:27Speaker 1: when he was you know, in his his in his.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Leisure time, his recreational time.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So can you imagine what he would have been if
- 34:37Speaker 1: he was like, you know, a modern athlete and fucking
- 34:39Speaker 1: just you know, all super dialed in nutritionist or.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Maybe maybe that was part of his thing.
- 34:47Speaker 1: He's one of like they say, they say, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 1: Keith Nandes talks about how you know nobody nobody had no,
- 34:53Speaker 1: nobody even knew what an oblique was back when he
- 34:56Speaker 1: was playing baseball.
- 34:58Speaker 3: You can't, you know, you can't.
- 34:59Speaker 2: You can't pull fat ironically enough around that kind of
- 35:03Speaker 2: similar timeframe. That's some like Dwyke Good and Darryl Strawberry
- 35:07Speaker 2: type shit.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Well, Keith Hernandez as well, you know key that. I
- 35:11Speaker 1: still that's why Keith isn't in the Hall of Fame.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Thirteen gold gloves right then and there Hall of Fame.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Thirteen goal gloves won an MVP captain on a World
- 35:20Speaker 1: Series team. There's no The only reason he's not because
- 35:22Speaker 1: he had to do that whole ship. We had to
- 35:23Speaker 1: go before Congress and talk about the UH and then
- 35:27Speaker 1: the nose beers. Yeah, man, Keith and Nanda should definitely
- 35:32Speaker 1: be in the Hall of Fame. I know that with
- 35:33Speaker 1: baseball they got all these weird rules where they let
- 35:35Speaker 1: guys in later. Get let's get that done. He needs
- 35:37Speaker 1: to be in the Hall of Fame. But yeah, man,
- 35:40Speaker 1: it was a different time for athletes back then. But
- 35:44Speaker 1: this World Cup Final is going to be interesting, obviously, Well, Argentina,
- 35:48Speaker 1: did that come back. You know that was that was
- 35:51Speaker 1: some you know, Knicks Game four type shit. And that
- 35:54Speaker 1: fucking that pass by Messi off his right foot, which
- 35:57Speaker 1: everybody says his left foot is his uh, his better
- 36:00Speaker 1: one is more precise foot, but he's able to cross
- 36:04Speaker 1: that ball to the exact perfect place. Header ball game.
- 36:08Speaker 1: England thys sick, especially with that rivalry being what it
- 36:13Speaker 1: is and you know, them losing that way all the
- 36:16Speaker 1: similarities to the last time.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Wow.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Yeah, man, the England went full Atlanta Falcons in the
- 36:24Speaker 2: Atlanta Falcons Stadium, which is wild. But I want to
- 36:27Speaker 2: go to this one stat which is really insane to me.
- 36:32Speaker 2: So between the sixty six oh five and eighty four
- 36:35Speaker 2: forty two mark of that second half, England completed two
- 36:39Speaker 2: accurate passes. Yeah, that entire time, and they were both
- 36:45Speaker 2: the passes were goalie to center back, which is basically
- 36:50Speaker 2: like completing an inbound pass in basketball with no press.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Right damn man. Yeah, there it is right there.
- 36:57Speaker 1: There, It is right there, And I mean what it's
- 36:58Speaker 1: not like Argentina all of a sudden just like turned
- 37:01Speaker 1: it up and just became well did they though, because
- 37:04Speaker 1: we've now seen Argentina do this quite a bit, you know,
- 37:06Speaker 1: I mean the they, it's they. The parallels with the
- 37:09Speaker 1: Knicks continue because we've seen them come back, you know,
- 37:12Speaker 1: late in games and be able to just all of
- 37:15Speaker 1: a sudden look dominant when they look dormant just moments
- 37:19Speaker 1: and and the entire game before.
- 37:21Speaker 3: So is that is that? Is that them? Is that part?
- 37:24Speaker 3: Is that there? Is that their game plan?
- 37:26Speaker 1: Like, you know, is this something where they're kind of
- 37:27Speaker 1: saying like, hey, you know, we laid black blah blah blah,
- 37:29Speaker 1: and then we really turn it on at the end.
- 37:31Speaker 1: These guys are a little bit tired and that's when
- 37:32Speaker 1: we're gonna give our best or do they just have
- 37:36Speaker 1: an indomitable will and you know, especially that singular player
- 37:40Speaker 1: who breathes life and confidence into them late. You know,
- 37:45Speaker 1: once again, I allow the New York Knicks. I don't know,
- 37:48Speaker 1: but it's gonna be interesting.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Spain.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Spain is so good that it's boring to a certain extent.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Their defense they do the four four three, and you know,
- 37:57Speaker 1: their defense, they just it seems like you never can
- 38:00Speaker 1: ever it's in.
- 38:01Speaker 3: It's impenetrable.
- 38:03Speaker 1: So I'm using a lot of like Mike Tyson type
- 38:05Speaker 1: words today. It's just indomitable, impenetrable.
- 38:10Speaker 3: But uh yeah, no they uh.
- 38:13Speaker 1: That that little Just the way they pass and the
- 38:15Speaker 1: way they move the ball around, it's excellent. It's beautiful
- 38:18Speaker 1: to watch. And then their ability to just uh you know,
- 38:22Speaker 1: defensively never really give you an inch. It'll be interesting,
- 38:27Speaker 1: you know, if they're able to stifle Messy the same
- 38:32Speaker 1: way that they did in Bope and then you know,
- 38:35Speaker 1: if they and if they're not able to, then you
- 38:37Speaker 1: got to say, this is the brilliance of Messy that
- 38:40Speaker 1: he's even still at a level higher than in BOPE.
- 38:43Speaker 3: And if they are able.
- 38:44Speaker 1: To, then you say, Okay, this is one of the
- 38:46Speaker 1: most dominant runs that we've seen an international team go
- 38:49Speaker 1: on what we've seen out of Spain here recently. It'll
- 38:53Speaker 1: be fun to watch for sure, for sure, definitely looking
- 38:55Speaker 1: forward to that. You sent me something about uh MLB
- 39:00Speaker 1: Olympic participation and some of the things that the league
- 39:03Speaker 1: is talking about.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Give me some more on that.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I did so. Obviously, we have the Summer Olympics coming
- 39:08Speaker 2: up here in the States in twenty twenty eight in
- 39:11Speaker 2: Los Angeles. The league wants players to participate. The owners
- 39:16Speaker 2: are very open to it. Surprisingly, they actually it's nice
- 39:19Speaker 2: to see them actually being interested in their own sport again,
- 39:21Speaker 2: at least you know, most of them. And the league
- 39:24Speaker 2: is now proposing some pretty significant punishments for players who
- 39:31Speaker 2: voluntarily decide to not participate for their countries, and the
- 39:36Speaker 2: biggest one the league proposed to the union saying that
- 39:40Speaker 2: they want a greater than three week suspension that would
- 39:44Speaker 2: bleed into the second half of the year if players
- 39:47Speaker 2: are chosen to participate and they choose not to live healthy.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Obviously there's exemption for guys who are on the IL,
- 39:55Speaker 2: but if you're healthy and you choose not to participate,
- 39:58Speaker 2: they want players on the restricted list and suspend it.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Is this is there's any way the players union agrees
- 40:06Speaker 1: to this zero chance, zero chance, right Listen.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I think guys will want to play.
- 40:12Speaker 1: We've seen with the World Baseball Classic that guys want
- 40:14Speaker 1: to play. You know, guys that are selected, they typically
- 40:18Speaker 1: want to play. And I mean, really, what are we
- 40:20Speaker 1: looking at We're looking at you know, we already we
- 40:22Speaker 1: we basically know what teams we've seen. We've seen the
- 40:24Speaker 1: you know, we've seen this tournament already, just with a
- 40:26Speaker 1: different name, so we know Japan is gonna be really good.
- 40:29Speaker 1: The US is gonna be good Italy, you know they
- 40:32Speaker 1: they obviously looked really good in this last one. D
- 40:35Speaker 1: are you know it was gonna be good? You know,
- 40:37Speaker 1: and then you know some of those other Latin American teams. Yeah,
- 40:42Speaker 1: there's no way they're gonna agree with that. I think
- 40:44Speaker 1: that's crazy. That's a that's a that's a that's a
- 40:46Speaker 1: good Uh, it's a good try. But no, and hey,
- 40:49Speaker 1: like you said, it's good that the the ownership is
- 40:51Speaker 1: looking at this from a standpoint of let's grow the game.
- 40:54Speaker 3: And you know, if we're gonna have the if we're
- 40:57Speaker 3: gonna have it, we're gonna.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Have baseball in the Olympics, and we're gonna have the
- 41:00Speaker 1: Olympics on our soil, then let's you know, we're gonna
- 41:04Speaker 1: have to make sure that we feel the good team
- 41:06Speaker 1: because this is not a situation where you can like
- 41:08Speaker 1: do some shit like basketball used to do or hockey
- 41:11Speaker 1: used to do, where it's like only the amateurs not
- 41:13Speaker 1: because I mean, then.
- 41:14Speaker 3: It fu gave.
- 41:15Speaker 1: If the US decides to do that, then d R
- 41:17Speaker 1: is gonna smoke you. Japan's gonna smoke you. So it'll
- 41:20Speaker 1: be interesting for sure.
- 41:21Speaker 2: I think it'll actually be easier to get players to
- 41:23Speaker 2: participate in the Olympics is one. It's honestly the Olympics
- 41:25Speaker 2: versus WBC. But players will be fully ramped up and
- 41:29Speaker 2: in season mode versus the one issue I've always have
- 41:33Speaker 2: WBC is it's always preseason. Yeah, and guys, aren't you know.
- 41:37Speaker 2: It forces guys to change their regiments, their training and everything,
- 41:40Speaker 2: and you can only do so much with it. Guys
- 41:42Speaker 2: can only throw a certain amount of pitches. They can't
- 41:44Speaker 2: be fully ramped up. So I think I don't even
- 41:46Speaker 2: think this is gonna be much of a thing in
- 41:48Speaker 2: terms of being able to be selected for the Olympics.
- 41:50Speaker 2: And yeah, up until this year, the NHL went like
- 41:53Speaker 2: to have like a twelve year hiatus from letting their
- 41:56Speaker 2: players participate in the Olympics. And I thought it was terrible.
- 41:59Speaker 2: It was it made Olympic hockey unwatchable. One of those Olympics,
- 42:03Speaker 2: I was actually eating Canada. It was in Vancouver during
- 42:07Speaker 2: the twenty eighteen Winter Olympics, and I was actually in
- 42:10Speaker 2: a bar for Canada's first game, and it was just
- 42:13Speaker 2: like any other night. It was lame. I met you
- 42:16Speaker 2: if I was there this time around, it would have
- 42:18Speaker 2: been insane.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I mean, listen, all the sports have gotten to the
- 42:23Speaker 1: point where it's like, you know, when it comes to
- 42:25Speaker 1: the Olympics, you gotta go ahead and send you know,
- 42:27Speaker 1: you got you gotta I okay, going back, I mean,
- 42:30Speaker 1: if we look at it Miracle on ice, is that
- 42:33Speaker 1: as cool if it's all professionals. No, That's part of
- 42:36Speaker 1: the thing that made it cool was that it was
- 42:38Speaker 1: you know, it was amateur guys. But then if you
- 42:41Speaker 1: even look at like, you know, I look at like
- 42:44Speaker 1: the roster of like you know, the some of these
- 42:46Speaker 1: Olympic teams that were going before the Dream Team and
- 42:49Speaker 1: you know, you got Patrick Ewing and Michael Jordan on
- 42:52Speaker 1: the same team, and you know, Bobby Knight's the coach,
- 42:54Speaker 1: and you know that shit was cool too to a
- 42:57Speaker 1: certain extent. But the rest of the world has caught
- 43:00Speaker 1: up too much for us to be able to send
- 43:01Speaker 1: our amateurs when it comes to these sports. And I
- 43:04Speaker 1: mean it's not like that in any other sports. So yeah,
- 43:06Speaker 1: of course we should send our pros. And yeah, it
- 43:07Speaker 1: definitely makes the overall play better. Maybe the quality of
- 43:10Speaker 1: play will be better in the Olympics rather than the
- 43:14Speaker 1: the World Baseball Classic because it's not preseason, like you said,
- 43:19Speaker 1: guys will be ramped up, so it'll be interesting for sure.
- 43:22Speaker 3: You know.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I just think I'm looking forward to the Olympics being
- 43:24Speaker 1: on American soil and uh, you know, the big the
- 43:29Speaker 1: whole thing with baseball being a sport now. Yet, we
- 43:31Speaker 1: gotta we got to make sure that we show out.
- 43:33Speaker 1: I mean, you know, obviously we haven't. We've never won
- 43:36Speaker 1: the World Baseball Classic, right.
- 43:38Speaker 2: No, we would have want twenty seventeen that Yeah, that
- 43:41Speaker 2: was the year that Adam Jones had that crazy robbing
- 43:43Speaker 2: home run, robbing catch on.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Is that David Right too?
- 43:48Speaker 3: David Right? Was David Right on that team?
- 43:50Speaker 2: Pretty sure he was sure it was?
- 43:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm for sure he had a big home run. Yeah,
- 43:56Speaker 1: But uh, you know, honestly, the World Baseball As I
- 44:02Speaker 1: feel like this past year, I was probably into it
- 44:03Speaker 1: a little bit more than I had been before the.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Last couple of years, the last couple of iterations of
- 44:08Speaker 2: it have been fantastic. Yeah, yeah, I think you know
- 44:11Speaker 2: twenty twenty three when you had a show, hey striking
- 44:14Speaker 2: out Mike Trout to end.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Yeah, to end it. Yep, yep.
- 44:17Speaker 2: And just the crowds, especially in the you know, the
- 44:19Speaker 2: Latin American countries like there, it's so electric, like not
- 44:24Speaker 2: watch it, just be super into it.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 44:27Speaker 2: I also wish it was a summer thing though, And
- 44:29Speaker 2: the reason I say that is because every time you
- 44:31Speaker 2: do it in March again the players before it wraps up,
- 44:33Speaker 2: you also have March madness going on. You also have
- 44:36Speaker 2: the push the NBA playoffs. You have pushed then playoffs, ye,
- 44:38Speaker 2: and the talk about the NFL Draft, so kind of
- 44:40Speaker 2: in a way, it gets very.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Every few years, stop in the middle of the season
- 44:47Speaker 1: and do that, like do it, let's do it, let's
- 44:48Speaker 1: do it where it's like that. And they they now
- 44:51Speaker 1: that the Olympics is doing baseball, they should stagger it.
- 44:53Speaker 1: So it's every two years and so we get this
- 44:57Speaker 1: one then every you know, and then you know, and
- 44:59Speaker 1: then they just do it in the middle summer.
- 45:00Speaker 3: I do think it's a better idea. I do.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Yo.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Did you see Tim Donahey, he's back. He was on
- 45:06Speaker 1: flat TV and he was talking about you know how
- 45:10Speaker 1: uh so Vlad makes it very clear, He's like, Yo,
- 45:14Speaker 1: did you know it was you know what exactly did
- 45:18Speaker 1: they tell you? And I thought that donnae He like
- 45:20Speaker 1: said basically that they showed tape and said like, hey,
- 45:23Speaker 1: this is a foul, and you know this guy is
- 45:26Speaker 1: talking about he's a Kobe stopper, and we're showing tape
- 45:28Speaker 1: of other times that he's fouled him.
- 45:29Speaker 3: You guys should call these fouls.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I don't really think that that's necessarily just going out
- 45:33Speaker 1: there and saying, oh, like they they wanted things to be.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Like the headline says like, you know, like the NBA
- 45:40Speaker 1: cheated for Kobe basically.
- 45:42Speaker 3: And I don't think that's the case.
- 45:43Speaker 1: If you don't think that the best players in the
- 45:45Speaker 1: world get slightly better whistles than you know, Rajah Bell,
- 45:50Speaker 1: that's probably the case. And the NBA is definitely looking
- 45:53Speaker 1: sitting down with their officials and showing tape and saying, hey,
- 45:58Speaker 1: you know this was good, this was bad, you know whatever.
- 46:00Speaker 3: I mean.
- 46:01Speaker 1: They look at take during halftimes of games. So I honestly,
- 46:05Speaker 1: when I saw this, I was like, I think, Donna,
- 46:07Speaker 1: he needed a check. That's what it looks like to me,
- 46:09Speaker 1: because it really was a nothing burger compared to what
- 46:11Speaker 1: I thought I was going to get when I saw
- 46:13Speaker 1: the headline.
- 46:14Speaker 2: No, I definitely agree with that. I saw the tweet
- 46:15Speaker 2: that you said, and I watched the video as well.
- 46:17Speaker 2: But you know, to be fair, Jalen Brunson Steph Curry
- 46:20Speaker 2: basically have the same whistle as Raja out.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Word word and you know that shalit better change for
- 46:26Speaker 1: this year. Brunton, come on, you know Brunton and Cat
- 46:28Speaker 1: I need I need a championship whistle. But yeah, the
- 46:32Speaker 1: Nicks are the fucking champs and it just keeps getting better,
- 46:35Speaker 1: keeps getting keeps getting better. I can't I really, I
- 46:42Speaker 1: just I can't wait till like the Ben Stiller ship
- 46:45Speaker 1: that's coming out. Ben Stiller has said, you know, he's
- 46:48Speaker 1: coming out with the doc where basically it's a lot
- 46:51Speaker 1: of him taking video from his phone and it is, uh,
- 46:55Speaker 1: it's gonna be on HBO and everything they put out
- 46:58Speaker 1: his quality.
- 46:58Speaker 3: So I can't wait for that. Bro.
- 47:00Speaker 1: You gotta start watching House to Dragon. You gotta start
- 47:03Speaker 1: watching House to Dragon so we could talk House to Dragon. Man.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Hey, I don't understand being such a.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Huge guy, being such a huge Game of Thrones guy,
- 47:10Speaker 1: and like they're like, oh, we make an iteration and
- 47:12Speaker 1: we tell the story from two hundred years beforehand, and
- 47:14Speaker 1: you're just like, I'm not interested.
- 47:15Speaker 3: What is that?
- 47:16Speaker 2: I'm just barely over home right now. It's kind of
- 47:18Speaker 2: the problem.
- 47:19Speaker 1: So fuck that bullshit. You can watch a goddamn show.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Come on, man, you excited about the new challenge it's
- 47:24Speaker 1: coming out. You see you see the lineup.
- 47:25Speaker 2: I did see the lineup. It's it's a little weaker.
- 47:27Speaker 2: It's a little disappointing. You know, there's still some greats
- 47:29Speaker 2: in there. So but you know, obviously I'm all in.
- 47:33Speaker 2: I always am. You know, I'm gonna watch. Yeah, I'm
- 47:36Speaker 2: sure we'll get some challenge content in there too. We
- 47:39Speaker 2: got off the show.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, it's it's in the works. I've already
- 47:43Speaker 1: talked to me about it. We're gonna start having guests.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I got a list of people that I know, some
- 47:49Speaker 1: nixt Twitter people, you know, just some people that I
- 47:52Speaker 1: want that I find interesting, that I want to talk
- 47:54Speaker 1: to and learn a little bit more aback, learn more
- 47:57Speaker 1: about rather and Scott's definitely on the list.
- 47:59Speaker 3: We're gonna We're gonna get him one here.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Him and I can go back and forth about uh
- 48:03Speaker 1: Scott gets pissed off of me, and it's like a
- 48:05Speaker 1: recur in a group chat that I'm in with him,
- 48:07Speaker 1: It's a recurring thing, and everybody else gets mad in
- 48:09Speaker 1: the group chat when he when when we start going
- 48:11Speaker 1: back and forth about it, because it's we just have
- 48:13Speaker 1: the same argument over and over again. But I I
- 48:16Speaker 1: always contend that he's he's like not a real fan.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Scott goes to more sporting events than anybody when he
- 48:24Speaker 1: goes to all these different places because you know, he
- 48:28Speaker 1: you know, does the Challenge Mania shit. He's always thrown
- 48:31Speaker 1: out a first pitch somewhere in a box doing this.
- 48:34Speaker 1: He's at the All Star Game here recently with his son.
- 48:37Speaker 1: He loves taking pictures and getting some sort of autograph
- 48:41Speaker 1: from famous people more than any person I've ever known
- 48:45Speaker 1: in my entire life. Every time somebody dies, Scott posts
- 48:49Speaker 1: a picture of him in that person, every single time.
- 48:51Speaker 1: And he will go to a fucking border's books and wait,
- 48:56Speaker 1: you know, six hours to meet you know, frigging I
- 49:00Speaker 1: don't know, Gwyneth Paltrow or some shit, like, he fucking
- 49:02Speaker 1: loves this shit.
- 49:03Speaker 3: He fucking loves it.
- 49:04Speaker 1: I there's if Kobe Bryant, if somebody told me that
- 49:09Speaker 1: Kobe was somewhere right now, and that I could go
- 49:12Speaker 1: wait a couple hours to get his autograph and take
- 49:14Speaker 1: a picture with him. I wouldn't do it. Like that's
- 49:17Speaker 1: how I feel about it. I don't care like the
- 49:19Speaker 1: whole like, like you know, it's just it's just not me.
- 49:22Speaker 3: It's just not me.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Like the challenge and the Challenge meeting and all that shit,
- 49:25Speaker 1: because I get to go, and first of all, I'm
- 49:27Speaker 1: going to support my boy. Second of all, like the
- 49:31Speaker 1: access that I get, you know, because I'm with him.
- 49:33Speaker 1: I'm hanging out in the agree room with the people
- 49:35Speaker 1: and all that stuff and everything. I love all that,
- 49:37Speaker 1: the idea of going and just like sitting there in
- 49:39Speaker 1: the crowd and like clapping it up when they come
- 49:40Speaker 1: out and be like, hey, it's not me. God bless
- 49:43Speaker 1: him for it. Hey, he's fucking crushing it. It's been
- 49:45Speaker 1: It's I've clearly been something that has uh, you know,
- 49:48Speaker 1: been extremely successful for him. He's done a great job
- 49:51Speaker 1: building that brand, and you know, I couldn't be more
- 49:53Speaker 1: happy for him and the way it's all working out.
- 49:56Speaker 1: But he is somebody he goes to all these different
- 49:59Speaker 1: sporting events like he loves Tyre's Halliburton, the Pacers treated
- 50:03Speaker 1: him really well. But then he also, like, you know,
- 50:06Speaker 1: he lives in New York City. He liked He says
- 50:08Speaker 1: he likes the Knicks. I know him back in the day,
- 50:10Speaker 1: when I knew him, he never said shit about the Knicks.
- 50:13Speaker 1: He loved like fucking Steve Nash back then. But now
- 50:15Speaker 1: he's like, he says like the Knicks, and then like
- 50:17Speaker 1: he'll get in the chat and he'll start throwing out
- 50:19Speaker 1: like the word we when talking about the Knicks, and
- 50:21Speaker 1: I'm like, bruh b and I can He's like, I
- 50:25Speaker 1: go to more to sporting events than anybody.
- 50:26Speaker 3: I fucking love sports.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I understand that you love the event, you love all
- 50:30Speaker 1: that shit, but you're not a true like sports fan.
- 50:34Speaker 1: You don't have like a team that you fucking live
- 50:35Speaker 1: and die with and it means everything to you. He
- 50:37Speaker 1: claims to be like a Jackson Jacksonville Jaguars. He just
- 50:42Speaker 1: like he picked him a long time ago, he like
- 50:44Speaker 1: Mark Brunell or some ship like that. And he's like,
- 50:46Speaker 1: I don't have a team. I'm picking a team and
- 50:47Speaker 1: he picked them, and come on, man, he listened, and
- 50:52Speaker 1: it's so My old thing is is like, it's it's okay.
- 50:55Speaker 1: It's okay to be like a guy who like like
- 50:57Speaker 1: just you know, likes to go to the events and
- 50:59Speaker 1: all this other stuff, but not truly understand what like
- 51:01Speaker 1: actual fandom is. Like I fucking live and die with
- 51:04Speaker 1: this shit. It means so much to me, and you know,
- 51:06Speaker 1: it's people don't understand, Like when the Knicks fucking lose
- 51:10Speaker 1: and have a bad game on some dumb shit in
- 51:12Speaker 1: fucking the regular season. There's times where it's like, Yo,
- 51:15Speaker 1: I fucking the first thing I wake up when I
- 51:18Speaker 1: wake up in the middle of the night to take
- 51:19Speaker 1: a piss, I'm fucking I'm forty. There's you know, the
- 51:23Speaker 1: life comes at you quick. But when I wake up
- 51:25Speaker 1: in the middle of the night to take a piss,
- 51:26Speaker 1: I'm like, Yo, the first thing I think about when
- 51:30Speaker 1: I opened my eyes is like, God, damn it, that
- 51:33Speaker 1: fucking stupid foul by fucking Josh.
- 51:35Speaker 3: You know some shit like that.
- 51:36Speaker 1: You know, I'm telling you, man, he's don't. I don't
- 51:39Speaker 1: think he's like That's what I'm saying.
- 51:40Speaker 3: He don't. Ever, when he wakes up in the middle
- 51:42Speaker 3: of the night.
- 51:43Speaker 1: He's not fucking cursing his team for the dumb shit
- 51:47Speaker 1: that they did. It's not the first thought to his brain.
- 51:49Speaker 1: That's what fucking real fandom.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Is, oh for sure. Like I mean, look, I love
- 51:53Speaker 2: going to all the events, but you know where my
- 51:55Speaker 2: fandom's all line, sure, the Bay especially, Yeah, especially like
- 52:00Speaker 2: when it comes to you know, Sharks for hockey. That's
- 52:02Speaker 2: kind of you know, my the Diamonds. You know, like
- 52:04Speaker 2: when we beat the Eagle of the playoffs slash year
- 52:06Speaker 2: we'll up, you know that next morning I was like, damn,
- 52:08Speaker 2: you really just knocked Filly out with no defense.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a different level for sure. Something we didn't
- 52:15Speaker 1: talk about on Tuesday. You know, McGregor's done, you know,
- 52:20Speaker 1: go ahead, and you know you got all your bread.
- 52:22Speaker 1: You know, was he hurt beforehand? Who knows? I don't know.
- 52:27Speaker 1: It's getting real fishy the whole, you know, especially when
- 52:30Speaker 1: it comes to the betting and everything. Like if this
- 52:32Speaker 1: guy was hurt beforehand, and you know, you just don't
- 52:35Speaker 1: want to lose out on the check. From the USC's
- 52:37Speaker 1: point of view, from his point of view, it's not good.
- 52:40Speaker 3: It's not good.
- 52:41Speaker 2: And you know what it sounds like it was. Dana
- 52:44Speaker 2: White was basically like, no, you have to go fight
- 52:47Speaker 2: sort of thing. It wasn't even like it was basically
- 52:49Speaker 2: like suck it up, get your apps out there. It's like,
- 52:52Speaker 2: no matter what's going on with you, it's kind of
- 52:54Speaker 2: the TV is. I don't know what other people have said,
- 52:58Speaker 2: but that was kind of the vibe I was getting,
- 53:01Speaker 2: was that McGregor was hurt earlier that week, he didn't
- 53:04Speaker 2: know if he could go, and Dan and Wise like, no.
- 53:05Speaker 1: You're going, yo, man, And that's that's that's the vibe
- 53:09Speaker 1: I get too. And if that's the case, and if that,
- 53:12Speaker 1: you know, really ever becomes exposed in a like, you know,
- 53:19Speaker 1: in a plausible and or factual way, that's a fucking
- 53:24Speaker 1: huge problem for them. And I feel like the UFC,
- 53:26Speaker 1: they were on this crazy meteoric rise and it's fallen off.
- 53:31Speaker 3: You know, you don't have the.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Huge stars, and clearly they're thirsty for that, which is
- 53:38Speaker 1: why they put so much into and you know, allegedly
- 53:44Speaker 1: continued on with even though the fighter was not physically
- 53:47Speaker 1: you know, ready or able. The fact that they're doing
- 53:50Speaker 1: that to me shows a little bit of desperation. And
- 53:54Speaker 1: you know, Dana White wants to be this this maverick
- 53:57Speaker 1: and you know, I don't disliked in a way. You know,
- 54:01Speaker 1: obviously I disagree with them on some things very very much,
- 54:03Speaker 1: so especially you know, the people he.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Decides to support and call friends.
- 54:08Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, I don't know,
- 54:12Speaker 1: I feel like the UFC, you know, might of overextended
- 54:14Speaker 1: itself a little bit, got out in front of its skis.
- 54:17Speaker 1: I wonder what the numbers are looking like for Paramount
- 54:19Speaker 1: since they did that deal, and whether or not those
- 54:22Speaker 1: Paramount executives are looking at them and being like, yo, man,
- 54:25Speaker 1: we need this kind of thing to pop off, because
- 54:27Speaker 1: recently they have not been.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it has been great for them so far. Looking here,
- 54:34Speaker 2: just at the McGregor fight, they reached a peak of
- 54:38Speaker 2: fifteen point nine million total viewers across the US and
- 54:41Speaker 2: Latin America, or a total of fifteen point nine million
- 54:44Speaker 2: viewers across the US and Latin America, and then also
- 54:48Speaker 2: peaked at eight point three million concurrent streams the White
- 54:53Speaker 2: House Fight last month, seventeen million total viewers.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that does that sounds low? That sounds low for
- 55:03Speaker 1: what UFC is, you know, especially for you know, big
- 55:06Speaker 1: events like that. So I mean, there's a whole lot
- 55:09Speaker 1: more options. Now, Uh, you know, there's so many different ways.
- 55:12Speaker 1: I don't you know who knows how the paramount deal
- 55:15Speaker 1: is affecting because because back in the day, the top
- 55:20Speaker 1: fighters would get like points on the pay per view buys.
- 55:24Speaker 1: So I don't even know how that works now with
- 55:26Speaker 1: it being on paramount and with it being no pay
- 55:28Speaker 1: per view. I know, Connor, they said I thought made
- 55:30Speaker 1: like thirty did he make I think he made thirty
- 55:32Speaker 1: something million? Which, hey man, God bless him. Max Holloway
- 55:36Speaker 1: sucks for him because obviously he wants to fight. He
- 55:38Speaker 1: doesn't want to fight to end that way. Max Holloway
- 55:40Speaker 1: is one of my favorite fighters of all time. I
- 55:42Speaker 1: love fucking Max Holloway. I've always loved him back since
- 55:45Speaker 1: he was young. I've loved watching his entire story. He's
- 55:48Speaker 1: extremely glib. You ever see him on a podcast, He's fantastic,
- 55:51Speaker 1: like he was on the Flagrant podcast, and he's fucking great.
- 55:55Speaker 1: And you know, he just his the way that he
- 55:58Speaker 1: fights and just what he stands for. Everything about him.
- 56:01Speaker 1: I love it, and that justin Gatgee fight for for
- 56:04Speaker 1: the BMF, for the bad motherfucker belt, where you know
- 56:07Speaker 1: he's winning the fight and at the end of it,
- 56:09Speaker 1: says come on, let's go right now to the middle
- 56:11Speaker 1: of the ring, and you know, ends up chaoing him.
- 56:15Speaker 1: It is I don't know if I've ever been watching
- 56:18Speaker 1: combat sports and been more hype than that. Me and
- 56:21Speaker 1: my dad both were standing up like, oh, I mean,
- 56:25Speaker 1: it was just fucking what a fucking fight and what
- 56:27Speaker 1: a way to end it. And I mean, especially if
- 56:29Speaker 1: you're up there and you're fighting for the BMF belt, that's.
- 56:31Speaker 3: How you fucking do it. That shit was dope.
- 56:33Speaker 1: And so now you know, just Max get a title shot.
- 56:39Speaker 1: You know, lightweight division is interesting, and you know he's
- 56:43Speaker 1: obviously I think Max being a little bit bigger, I
- 56:46Speaker 1: was interested in seeing if you know, because he's a striker,
- 56:49Speaker 1: but he's a guy who kind of overwhelms you with
- 56:52Speaker 1: volume and then late in the fight now he can,
- 56:54Speaker 1: you know, knock you out. I was wondering if, anxious
- 56:57Speaker 1: to see if him being a little bit bigger was
- 56:58Speaker 1: going to give him a little bit more power.
- 57:00Speaker 3: So yeah, man, ufc it it's just tough, man.
- 57:04Speaker 1: You've got a lot of a lot of those A
- 57:05Speaker 1: lot of the stars in the champs are foreign. You
- 57:09Speaker 1: have more guys that are you know, kind of going
- 57:12Speaker 1: with that like Kabe model as opposed to the Connor model,
- 57:15Speaker 1: which is not as exciting and not as sexy.
- 57:18Speaker 3: It's just not.
- 57:20Speaker 1: So it's gonna be interesting to see, you know, what
- 57:23Speaker 1: happens with the UFC over the next few years, because
- 57:25Speaker 1: it does feel like it's fallen off a little bit. Well,
- 57:29Speaker 1: anything else, man, anything I'm missing, anything, I'm forgetting Kawhi Kahi, Yeah,
- 57:33Speaker 1: exactly where.
- 57:34Speaker 2: I was gonna go next. We have not talked about
- 57:35Speaker 2: the NBA opening up a second invation investigation on Kawhi
- 57:39Speaker 2: letter bruh Uh.
- 57:42Speaker 1: This is a fucking problem for Kawhi okay because the
- 57:44Speaker 1: fact that this this this trade has been paused and uh,
- 57:53Speaker 1: you know there's been a buyer beware warning issued by
- 57:59Speaker 1: the NBA too to run to I think, I you know,
- 58:02Speaker 1: to me right now, if I'm looking at this, just
- 58:04Speaker 1: reading the tea leaves, I think he's gonna end up
- 58:08Speaker 1: getting suspended himself.
- 58:09Speaker 2: I could see it too. I didn't even think it
- 58:11Speaker 2: was humanly possible just within the CBA or anything like that.
- 58:14Speaker 2: But the more you read, the more, you know, we
- 58:15Speaker 2: even hear about it from you know, people that are
- 58:18Speaker 2: you know also pretty plugged in and know things like
- 58:21Speaker 2: it could really.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Happen, dude, that would be interesting, man. And some people
- 58:26Speaker 1: say that's one of the things bron is waiting for.
- 58:29Speaker 1: It's like he wants to see where Kawha is gonna go.
- 58:31Speaker 1: And then you know that affects, you know, his ability
- 58:33Speaker 1: to win depending on if he's in the East or not.
- 58:35Speaker 3: And we know one of my favorite clips of all time.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Is the Lebron at the free throw line when he's
- 58:40Speaker 1: in Miami and Kawhi is getting checked back into the
- 58:44Speaker 1: game and you see him he slipped right there. I'm
- 58:47Speaker 1: sure he didn't want everybody to see that reaction, but
- 58:49Speaker 1: he looks and he's like, damn, Like this dude gives
- 58:52Speaker 1: him problem. He gives Kawhi when he's guardeninger, he gives
- 58:54Speaker 1: everybody problems. The fucking claw. That dude's hands are insane.
- 58:57Speaker 1: It don't even look like a real thing.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Healthy. Kawhi is one of the most dominant players of
- 59:03Speaker 2: this era, especially defensively. Is crazy. I remember even last
- 59:08Speaker 2: year watching the Clippers play the Warriors and basically what
- 59:10Speaker 2: was the facto playing games last game in the regular season,
- 59:13Speaker 2: loser or loser went to the play and winner got
- 59:16Speaker 2: a one of the sixth the sixth seed, and he
- 59:19Speaker 2: just single heaviedly dominated that game. And it was a
- 59:21Speaker 2: game where they basically wasted an incredible step out, but
- 59:25Speaker 2: Kawhi took it out both at both ends of the court.
- 59:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, come on, yeah, you know. And he
- 59:30Speaker 1: was as healthy as he is he's ever been last year.
- 59:33Speaker 1: So I hope he does stay healthy.
- 59:34Speaker 3: I really do.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind him not coming to Toronto and staying
- 59:37Speaker 1: out west. That would be okay with me. But uh,
- 59:40Speaker 1: you know, well we'll see. You know, one thing I
- 59:43Speaker 1: got to mention, I just saw, you know, Ogi's acceptance
- 59:46Speaker 1: speech at the SP's for Best Shot.
- 59:48Speaker 3: That dude is just the he's the fucking he's so
- 59:52Speaker 3: he's so Ogi. There's all.
- 59:53Speaker 1: There's it's kind of hard to explain it any other way,
- 59:56Speaker 1: but he's just so such a fucking odd dude. And
- 59:59Speaker 1: like when he he's like, you know, the goes in
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: like like he's about to do the split so we
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: can get down to the microphone because he couldn't get
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: it up and Brunton just I mean that's probably the
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: most like And I watched their podcast too with him
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: and Josh Hart. I don't think I've ever seen Brunson
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: just like crack up that genuinely and that like hard ever,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: it was fucking hilarious. Fucking Og is great. So yeah, Kawhi,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: if he does come to Toronto, we're gonna have to see.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: You know, this is Og taking the guy that he's
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: always looked up to and him having to match up
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: with him, you know, four times in the regular season
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: and then likely again in the playoffs. We'll be able
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: to see if you know, the teacher has uh surpassed
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: the master. I think that'll be an interesting thing to see.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: And yeah, man Nixon five h. I don't know anything else.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Bomb, I'm out of stuff for today. I mean, obviously
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: baseball is resuming. We have the trade deadline coming up.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: We'll definitely have some good stuff coming up once once
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: we have a little closer to August third, I believe
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: it is the is the deadline day now with some
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: big names you could possibly be able to move, including
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Terrors School.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, no, that'll all definitely be interesting. We'll see
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: you next week, folks. Have a very very good weekend.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Uh Nixon five
