- 0:46Speaker 3: Brutlet Cav podcast special guests in here. Man, I feel like,
- 0:51Speaker 3: you know, Christmas just coming early because I could barely
- 0:53Speaker 3: get Evidence to do anything in the last decade. Twice
- 0:57Speaker 3: in six months, Evidence is on the podcast.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Back. We're back, We're back.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Let's go, and this time he has brought Crime Apple welcome.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Sure you guys, just obviously the new album just came
- 1:10Speaker 3: out today. Ye never met, No, we never met?
- 1:12Speaker 2: First time?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah, first time. Well, first of all, it's dope. Have
- 1:18Speaker 3: to see you back because I feel like the Blue
- 1:20Speaker 3: album was so good a couple of years ago. Man,
- 1:25Speaker 3: what is the genesis of you guys doing war cash?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Just so you know, not car washed war Cash.
- 1:32Speaker 1: We were talking about it last time we were here. Yeah,
- 1:34Speaker 1: So it was like, production is serious to me, yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 1: you know, as it always has been.
- 1:39Speaker 2: But like.
- 1:41Speaker 1: First Mike down yeap, production is serious to me and
- 1:44Speaker 1: always has been. But as a rapper, sometimes people look
- 1:48Speaker 1: at you maybe as what they know you for, right,
- 1:50Speaker 1: and it's hard to shake the image of that.
- 1:53Speaker 3: You're known for so much. You're known for being an
- 1:54Speaker 3: amazing solo artist, dilated people so much.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but I did production through all the Dilated stuff,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and I have my foot and a lot of and
- 2:00Speaker 1: a lot of things, and I just felt like starting
- 2:04Speaker 1: my label was away for me to show how serious
- 2:06Speaker 1: I am about the production. And we were talking about
- 2:09Speaker 1: me being on rhyme Sayers and eventually I knew that
- 2:12Speaker 1: was going to come to an end. So starting a label,
- 2:14Speaker 1: producing others and understanding how a label works, doing vinyl,
- 2:18Speaker 1: building a relationship with people. So when I moved myself
- 2:22Speaker 1: over to my label, it wouldn't just be like throwing
- 2:25Speaker 1: myself to it. So I got to do all these
- 2:28Speaker 1: dope people, you know, produce all this stuff, not as
- 2:31Speaker 1: like trial and error, I mean, not as guinea pig shit,
- 2:33Speaker 1: but ur trial and error per se, but just really
- 2:36Speaker 1: learning what happens when you put out a record. And
- 2:40Speaker 1: you know, somebody was on Instagram today like why I
- 2:43Speaker 1: wasn't diverse there, you know, And I was telling you
- 2:45Speaker 1: that too. It's like, if you need a verse to
- 2:48Speaker 1: respect my production, then what does that say about my production? Right?
- 2:51Speaker 1: And so I really wanted to put my foot in
- 2:53Speaker 1: something like I got a bunch of things going on,
- 2:55Speaker 1: but really this year, turn it up and move in
- 2:58Speaker 1: real time. We made this album over the last couple
- 3:02Speaker 1: of months, you know what I mean. And so what
- 3:04Speaker 1: you're hearing is like a fresh fresh you know. Normally
- 3:07Speaker 1: it comes with like me having to wait for Vinyl, right,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and and so this was like, all right, let's just
- 3:11Speaker 1: get to it. And so I was saying Monday night.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm working with who's featured on the album and different
- 3:16Speaker 1: people now where I'm gonna throw it out right away
- 3:19Speaker 1: and let people feel it in real time, and then
- 3:22Speaker 1: if the heat is there, if it's really real, then
- 3:24Speaker 1: the vinyl will be a good sell whenever it comes.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Yeah, whenever it comes, because that's kind of like this.
- 3:29Speaker 3: The thing about vinyl is what it's like, probably like
- 3:31Speaker 3: a at least a three month thing.
- 3:33Speaker 2: If you're lucky.
- 3:34Speaker 3: You're lucky, right right right, and you've been doing the
- 3:36Speaker 3: vinyl thing for so long in terms of just like
- 3:39Speaker 3: physical copies of your music is kind of like how
- 3:42Speaker 3: your fans connect with you, you know what I'm saying. How
- 3:45Speaker 3: did you guys eventually link up and decide like, let's
- 3:49Speaker 3: do this.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so we did Camouflage yep, what was that two thousand?
- 3:58Speaker 1: I brought them over the als. I made a beat
- 4:00Speaker 1: on the spot. I gave it to him. But it
- 4:01Speaker 1: was like one joint on a record, right, and sometimes
- 4:05Speaker 1: that you can't really tell people what you're trying to
- 4:08Speaker 1: do through one song on a record. So that was
- 4:10Speaker 1: that was cool. We had a show he rocked with me,
- 4:13Speaker 1: I believe in Long Beach or we did the show
- 4:15Speaker 1: somewhere Dope, so the connection has been there. It's not
- 4:19Speaker 1: out of nowhere, but it wasn't really anybody knew about this.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So he came over to do I have a forty
- 4:24Speaker 1: five series where I've been doing Strangers one and Boldie
- 4:28Speaker 1: and Flyanik and Theravada and Raka and Blue, so we
- 4:32Speaker 1: came over to do one of those. Pretty much, it
- 4:34Speaker 1: was like, let's let's figure out a way to break
- 4:37Speaker 1: the ice. And then yo, he was killing it for real,
- 4:40Speaker 1: for real, because I have a thing where I'm when
- 4:41Speaker 1: I'm recording somebody if I could, if I'm while i'm recording,
- 4:46Speaker 1: if I just go, oh, don't fuck up right now,
- 4:48Speaker 1: because I'm hearing it like a record in the recording,
- 4:51Speaker 1: not like after I had plugins and shitle direct and
- 4:54Speaker 1: that it started happening off the rip with him. So
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'm like, he writes, really asked, and then writes about
- 5:01Speaker 1: things that we were talking about in the conversations, you know,
- 5:03Speaker 1: And so it was like, oh, this is actually like
- 5:05Speaker 1: you making I'm making the beats on the.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Spot and you're making the verses literally with.
- 5:09Speaker 1: And so we're both here in the next day something
- 5:11Speaker 1: that I don't remember he doesn't and I heard it
- 5:13Speaker 1: like a fan and I was like, Yo, this is heat,
- 5:15Speaker 1: this is heat right here. So we just did it.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And then I was like, can we hold water and
- 5:20Speaker 1: make a surprise record and tell nobody in the social
- 5:23Speaker 1: media era that that's what you do? You know, and
- 5:26Speaker 1: you have the making of it, and you're asking the fans,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you're playing snippets to tell them which one you're gonna
- 5:31Speaker 1: put out first. You're letting the audience almost dictate it,
- 5:34Speaker 1: you know. And so with this we went the other
- 5:36Speaker 1: way and put out a surprise record and it's it's
- 5:39Speaker 1: I love it, It's fire.
- 5:40Speaker 3: What about you?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Man?
- 5:41Speaker 3: Like, obviously working with evvs a fucking legend, you know,
- 5:44Speaker 3: especially on the production side, what was the like your
- 5:47Speaker 3: approach to this record and working solely with ev on
- 5:51Speaker 3: an album It's gotta be dope?
- 5:54Speaker 2: It was pretty straightforward. I fuck with him as a
- 5:57Speaker 2: human being first and foremost, and you know, he's always
- 6:03Speaker 2: been holding it down with just like good advice and
- 6:07Speaker 2: you know, so it was pretty straightforward working with him.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I didn't really have like any expectation. I really pulled
- 6:14Speaker 2: up to do like one of two songs and of
- 6:17Speaker 2: course you hope that you know, you hit it out
- 6:21Speaker 2: the park and that was it. It's like cool, you
- 6:23Speaker 2: do a third song or fourth song and fifth song, sixth.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Song, and it's like, whoa, it's the whole fucking album. Yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 3: for you? Like do you usually cause? I like, are
- 6:32Speaker 3: you usually?
- 6:33Speaker 2: Like?
- 6:34Speaker 3: Cause that's kind of the one thing that me and
- 6:35Speaker 3: I would talk about was like not to overthink shit,
- 6:39Speaker 3: get it out, and then worry about the hard copy
- 6:41Speaker 3: shit later. Is this new for you too, like putting
- 6:44Speaker 3: something out so fast without having all of the vinyl
- 6:47Speaker 3: ready and all that shit. Does that make sense.
- 6:52Speaker 2: A little bit? Yeah, It's definitely new in the sense
- 6:54Speaker 2: where it's like a secret, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 6:56Speaker 2: usually when I'm doing something, there's some inkling of notification
- 7:00Speaker 2: to the people, whether it's a you know, a single
- 7:02Speaker 2: that comes out and then you know, there's always some time.
- 7:05Speaker 2: But this was like complete the area of fifty one.
- 7:08Speaker 2: So that's the first time for sure. I didn't see
- 7:10Speaker 2: this coming.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You've obviously worked with a lot of dope producers, mugs,
- 7:14Speaker 3: I mean, going on around, But what is kind of
- 7:16Speaker 3: for you the process of because I feel like we
- 7:19Speaker 3: don't talk about ev enough as a producer. I was
- 7:21Speaker 3: just talking with my boy Spencer about this and I
- 7:24Speaker 3: was telling him. I was like, yeah, I'm gonna go
- 7:25Speaker 3: interview ev and Crying Apple. They did the album together,
- 7:28Speaker 3: but Evan just did the beats and he's like, Yo,
- 7:30Speaker 3: that's crazy. We don't talk about him enough, but like,
- 7:34Speaker 3: what is the process? Like that's unique about his creative
- 7:38Speaker 3: process compared to some of the other dope.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Producers you've been in with and my experience, the only
- 7:42Speaker 2: person who's like, you got to be here. Everyone's not
- 7:45Speaker 2: like that.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I made him fly out twice. I was like recording something, Yeah, I.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Never worked with anyone that was like, yo, you got
- 7:54Speaker 2: so Yeah. But we've done records through email too, you
- 7:57Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. Yeah, Like I know with him,
- 8:00Speaker 2: we've done the album, you know, and if we do
- 8:03Speaker 2: something else, it's not like he's going to email me
- 8:05Speaker 2: a pack still, Like there's some people who start like
- 8:08Speaker 2: that and then once they get to know you, they
- 8:09Speaker 2: get comfortable they'll email you. He's ever going to email
- 8:12Speaker 2: me beats, So I already know come.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I would have in the past. This is my new
- 8:16Speaker 1: me where I really want to see my vision through
- 8:17Speaker 1: from the recording side, to the mixing side, to choosing
- 8:20Speaker 1: who we mastered with, shooting and cover myself shot the video.
- 8:24Speaker 1: It's like I want to do I've always passed it
- 8:28Speaker 1: off to another mixer. I've always done something that gets
- 8:30Speaker 1: in the way of my full vision. So it was like,
- 8:33Speaker 1: can I do this?
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah? You know what I mean.
- 8:36Speaker 3: It's funny because you know, especially now that you have
- 8:39Speaker 3: your own label, it's like that's important too, Like there's
- 8:42Speaker 3: a there. I don't know if you know about the
- 8:43Speaker 3: artist Russ of course.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 3: So Russ is like one of those guys who just
- 8:47Speaker 3: everything's vertical. This guy will do the artwork he makes
- 8:50Speaker 3: as a master's he makes the beat he ran.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Whether you like his music, don't, or anything in between.
- 8:55Speaker 1: He's made a lot of really valid points that I
- 8:57Speaker 1: took to heart. Yeah, listening to I like some of
- 9:00Speaker 1: his music.
- 9:01Speaker 3: You know, he's hard them Unch, what was it was it? Munch?
- 9:04Speaker 3: The ships he was wrapping on with like black thin.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I mean, I was there when I was doing shit
- 9:08Speaker 1: with him and we're you know, and we're just sitting
- 9:10Speaker 1: like this. You can say what you want. He's killing it,
- 9:12Speaker 1: you know what I mean, And so fuck with that
- 9:15Speaker 1: for sure.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Yeah, but for you, it's got to be just like
- 9:18Speaker 3: you're fully this is important for you because this is
- 9:21Speaker 3: like you're you got your own thing now rhyme sayers.
- 9:24Speaker 3: You know obviously you're you Now evidence is on bigger picture,
- 9:28Speaker 3: which is your labeled which will happens to you, right,
- 9:31Speaker 3: But I'm saying, like, you know, it's got to be like, Okay,
- 9:33Speaker 3: I want to make sure I really have the ball
- 9:37Speaker 3: in my hands.
- 9:38Speaker 1: But the part that I like is like, there's mixers
- 9:40Speaker 1: who mixed records. That's what they do. Yeah, you know,
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm learning it. There's videographers who make videos, that's what
- 9:46Speaker 1: they do. I'm learning it. There's photographers, right, there's I
- 9:50Speaker 1: make beats. But you know, my point is is like
- 9:53Speaker 1: whether I'm good or however you rate me at this,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I want to I want to evolve publicly, like with
- 9:59Speaker 1: my cre right now. And working with him was super
- 10:02Speaker 1: inspiring on this one because it was like somebody matching
- 10:06Speaker 1: my as fast as I can make to be how
- 10:08Speaker 1: many meats I make on the spot for this one,
- 10:09Speaker 1: the majority of it, right, Yeah, I would say at
- 10:12Speaker 1: least six thousand and nine, right, And by the time
- 10:14Speaker 1: I was done doing what I was doing. The rhyme
- 10:16Speaker 1: was already ready and you could tell it wasn't a
- 10:18Speaker 1: pre done rhyme.
- 10:19Speaker 3: You know, we got to give a shout out to
- 10:21Speaker 3: our new sponsor, Raffie Law Group. Listen, I don't partner
- 10:24Speaker 3: with just anybody. And if you're from Arizona, all my
- 10:27Speaker 3: az people who are watching, y'all know, call Raffi Raffi
- 10:31Speaker 3: Raffi Law Group. They treat you like family, which is
- 10:35Speaker 3: why I decided to partner with them. Man, it only
- 10:38Speaker 3: makes sense. The best law group in as they've helped
- 10:41Speaker 3: over seventy thousand folks in Arizona, and listen, it's pretty easy.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Whatever happens, car accidents, car crashes, injuries, whatever, they handle it.
- 10:50Speaker 3: My wife actually got into an accident, this was like
- 10:53Speaker 3: five or six years ago. They handled her case, she
- 10:57Speaker 3: got paid out. It was super painless, it was super seamless.
- 11:01Speaker 3: The team was incredible. And when I tell you, man,
- 11:04Speaker 3: it's like a real family atmosphere over there. This is
- 11:06Speaker 3: not like just some random billboard lawyer or some bus
- 11:08Speaker 3: stop lawyer. No, it's a real team, all right. So
- 11:11Speaker 3: make sure you go support Raffie Law Group and don't
- 11:13Speaker 3: forget you're get into an accident, any sort of personal injury,
- 11:16Speaker 3: car crash, whatever, make sure you call RAFFI right now
- 11:20Speaker 3: six three three eight eight forty three thirty three. That's
- 11:24Speaker 3: six three three eight eight four three three three call
- 11:27Speaker 3: RAFFI for you, man, like talk about just I feel
- 11:30Speaker 3: like we're in this like cool renaissance where I feel
- 11:33Speaker 3: like when I was growing up, like you could be
- 11:35Speaker 3: like a I guess what you would consider whatever an
- 11:38Speaker 3: underground rapper was back in the day, and like sell
- 11:42Speaker 3: out shows, sell hard copies, get a disco deal where
- 11:45Speaker 3: you get your CDs in all the record stores.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 11:47Speaker 3: It's a little harder obviously, but I feel like, you know, uh,
- 11:53Speaker 3: the floodgates are kind of open. If you can cultivate
- 11:55Speaker 3: a fan base and figure out a way to monetize.
- 11:58Speaker 3: That would have been some of the secrets to the
- 12:00Speaker 3: sauce for you to like be an independent rapper and
- 12:03Speaker 3: thrive in twenty twenty six. Now fuck yeah, yeah, I
- 12:08Speaker 3: got like.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I think, like seven and a half under my belt years.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Customer service is probably one of the main things. Especially
- 12:19Speaker 2: I'm DIY for a lot of stuff, you know, I'll
- 12:21Speaker 2: do like temporary licensing with some people where they'll press
- 12:24Speaker 2: something up. But I do a lot of that shit
- 12:26Speaker 2: on my own, like my merge all that, So that's
- 12:28Speaker 2: like really important. You got to make sure that the
- 12:32Speaker 2: customer service is like top of the line if you
- 12:35Speaker 2: want to keep it going for years and years.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like funny, we don't even think about that,
- 12:39Speaker 3: Like you'd like fans are customers, Like you want them
- 12:42Speaker 3: to be customers investors, You want them to invest in
- 12:45Speaker 3: your in your movement.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's crazy because some we didn't do a
- 12:50Speaker 1: vinyl drop yet, but he's actually known for doing really
- 12:52Speaker 1: well on violul drops, you know what I mean. So
- 12:53Speaker 1: we're not even seeing the full potential of this. But
- 12:55Speaker 1: like getting the music out in real time was more
- 12:58Speaker 1: important first, and I've got a good product, you know.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Do you feel like the vinyl game is Like I
- 13:03Speaker 3: feel like a lot of artists still don't take advantage
- 13:06Speaker 3: of like the hard media. Like there's people who I'll
- 13:09Speaker 3: talk to on this podcast where I'm like, you're not
- 13:11Speaker 3: doing a vinyl like you have fans that are like
- 13:14Speaker 3: real people walking like you're fucking just depending on streaming
- 13:18Speaker 3: to me is just a wild thing to do.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Now people sleep on CDs and cassettes too. Yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 2: for sure they sleep on all that. There's a lot
- 13:26Speaker 2: of people that sleep on those things. I think they're important.
- 13:29Speaker 2: You know, you're leaving money on the table. And I
- 13:32Speaker 2: guess it depends on the type of artists. You know,
- 13:34Speaker 2: some people that's like a shift, the pivot that they
- 13:36Speaker 2: have to make. That's kind of how I started though.
- 13:39Speaker 2: You know, it's like hard copy base.
- 13:42Speaker 3: So so you've only been doing this for real, for
- 13:44Speaker 3: real for seven and a half years.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we're getting wrapped before that, like as an occupation,
- 13:52Speaker 2: it started to make sense to Yeah, as an occupation,
- 13:55Speaker 2: I haven't worked for anyone else in seven eight years,
- 13:57Speaker 2: seven and a half eight years.
- 13:59Speaker 3: So you are always writing and ship for sure. Yeah
- 14:02Speaker 3: how about say fuck for you only rapping? You're pretty stellar, man,
- 14:06Speaker 3: That's like not a lot of people could say that.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, what it's you.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Know obviously I know and I know you've worked a
- 14:12Speaker 3: lot with the Griselda guys. Was anything about what they
- 14:15Speaker 3: were doing inspired you to kind of take the approach
- 14:18Speaker 3: you would take to your music and the way you
- 14:20Speaker 3: release it.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I think it's in general like that generation or and
- 14:24Speaker 2: maybe there's a couple of years in between some of
- 14:26Speaker 2: these artists, but like I was really inspired by like
- 14:29Speaker 2: what I saw Rock doing, Rock Willy, the Kids on Price, Griselda.
- 14:36Speaker 2: You know. It was like however many years that spanned,
- 14:39Speaker 2: it was super inspiring while I was sitting on the sidelines,
- 14:41Speaker 2: like yo, people fuck with you know these types of music.
- 14:46Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be some catchy, trendy.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Things that you don't have to do some auto tune
- 14:50Speaker 3: shit or get a club rec or you don't have
- 14:52Speaker 3: to have.
- 14:52Speaker 2: A gazillion followers to make a living doing this.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I think that's the key is Like I think a
- 14:58Speaker 3: lot of artists, they their priorities are so like I
- 15:01Speaker 3: would say, upside down, instead of cultivating the people they have,
- 15:05Speaker 3: which will result in like the word of mouth spreading.
- 15:09Speaker 3: They're worried about like damn, I gotta pay someone to
- 15:12Speaker 3: get on some playlists that are most likely bodied and
- 15:15Speaker 3: they look the thing that they look at is like
- 15:17Speaker 3: they were so worried about their monthly listeners before they're
- 15:20Speaker 3: worried about like I'm having actual fans that will support
- 15:24Speaker 3: you with their wallet, you know, Like which is where
- 15:26Speaker 3: it actually matters.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think depends on the type of music. If you're
- 15:29Speaker 1: making more of a current or a pop type rap thing,
- 15:32Speaker 1: then that might be the better way to go because
- 15:34Speaker 1: you know, if you make a song that sticks, then
- 15:36Speaker 1: all of that's just going to happen. You don't have
- 15:38Speaker 1: to worry about it. It'll all come to you. That is
- 15:40Speaker 1: a different model than most of the people that I'm seeing,
- 15:44Speaker 1: and we all are guilty of our stab at doing
- 15:47Speaker 1: that at one point in our career.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Yeah, we've all try to touch by the way, you
- 15:51Speaker 3: guys did a really good job.
- 15:52Speaker 1: We did best around. But you know what it is,
- 15:54Speaker 1: it's like some people have a better fit doing this.
- 15:57Speaker 1: It's not. It's like because it actually works and connects
- 16:00Speaker 1: this way where you don't have to chase it. I
- 16:03Speaker 1: think monthly followers is a is a good metric, but
- 16:07Speaker 1: I would look at how people are selling vinyl before
- 16:09Speaker 1: I would look at that because that's the way to
- 16:11Speaker 1: make money.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Well, I think too, Like for you like you, it's like, man,
- 16:16Speaker 3: the longevity, I mean, fuck, the first dilated when was
- 16:20Speaker 3: Work the Angles eight well platform was two thousand, what
- 16:27Speaker 3: that actually came out? So yeah, so Work the Angles
- 16:29Speaker 3: was what got y all that deal crazy. So we're
- 16:32Speaker 3: almost thirty thirty years. It'll be thirty years in like
- 16:36Speaker 3: two years, crazy fucking one. No, no, yeah, because I'm
- 16:40Speaker 3: thirty nine, So in twenty twenty eight, it'll be thirty years.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Oh for that record. Yeah, I thought what I'm saying.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fucking you know.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's still just as much of a puzzle
- 16:54Speaker 1: as it was then to me as it is now.
- 16:56Speaker 3: But it's like to have the longevity and make this
- 16:59Speaker 3: like a thing for real, it's like you got to
- 17:01Speaker 3: always kind of reinvent yourself or evolve.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I think the live show thing kept everything moving, you know.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I think when you have a live show. I've seen
- 17:08Speaker 1: him performing during Rock Marcy said he brought him.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Out yea Rocks so underrated man, you know.
- 17:15Speaker 1: But when he came out, the crowding from crazy. So me,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I think Opio souls a Michig for watch it like
- 17:20Speaker 1: oh shit. Okay, So like those kind of things tell me, like,
- 17:24Speaker 1: because you can't fake the live, and the live is
- 17:26Speaker 1: what keeps you going for a long time.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Hundred percent. Are you from Jersey or New York Jersey?
- 17:30Speaker 3: What part of Jersey?
- 17:32Speaker 2: Northern New Jersey? Okay, Okay, Okay. Yeah, it's like, you know,
- 17:34Speaker 2: I don't want to call it die in New York,
- 17:35Speaker 2: but we're like ten minutes away.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Little die in New York, A little Die in New York. Yeah,
- 17:39Speaker 3: Jersey's wild, dude, because it's like, you got a lot
- 17:42Speaker 3: going on. It's a lot. There's like so many pockets,
- 17:45Speaker 3: and if you drive across through Jersey you might think
- 17:47Speaker 3: you're in the South and something.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It's a bunch of different states rolled in the one
- 17:50Speaker 2: for sure, Nah, for sure for you like, because I
- 17:54Speaker 2: feel like, you know, we think of Jersey.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I think of like obviously Joe Budden, Redman, you know
- 17:59Speaker 3: all that shit.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Don't start Jersey outside is with Jersey, right, Oh my god,
- 18:04Speaker 1: everything was Jersey.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Uh who else is Jersey? Poor teachers, Queen Latifa? What's
- 18:12Speaker 3: the homie Sue Surf about to get released? Ure Notty
- 18:17Speaker 3: by Nature. I just met Trench in Jersey at the
- 18:20Speaker 3: where the Devil's play It for credential. Yeah. I was like, yo,
- 18:23Speaker 3: fucking Tretch, did you go to that show? There was
- 18:26Speaker 3: like that old school like random like a rock the
- 18:29Speaker 3: Bell show like like it was it was, by the way,
- 18:33Speaker 3: shout out to the old school hip hop shows. Because
- 18:35Speaker 3: being backstage at those shows it's the best because being
- 18:39Speaker 3: backstage are rolling loud, You're gonna want to blow your
- 18:42Speaker 3: head off eventually. It's like what the old school dudes
- 18:45Speaker 3: are just the coolest money, Like everyone just hanging out.
- 18:48Speaker 3: No one's being extra like rock Kim's just sitting there
- 18:50Speaker 3: on a chair like wild. But for you, like, do
- 18:53Speaker 3: you feel like coming out of Jersey you kind of
- 18:56Speaker 3: have like a chip on your shoulder naturally to kind of,
- 18:59Speaker 3: you know, prove your against the New York scene.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Nah, not really. I never thought in terms of region
- 19:08Speaker 2: and like states and stuff like that. I don't. I
- 19:11Speaker 2: don't think Jersey defines me in any way musically. Like
- 19:16Speaker 2: I'm super happy that I'm from Jersey and probably why
- 19:20Speaker 2: I still live there because it's I can go outside
- 19:22Speaker 2: and it's not crazy.
- 19:23Speaker 3: It's probably a lot cheaper, too cheaper.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Than New York for sure. Yeah. So, but I don't
- 19:28Speaker 2: think it really shaped my music as a state, right.
- 19:31Speaker 2: It's just kind of maybe East Coast so I grew
- 19:33Speaker 2: up listening to all that East Coast shit.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It was too much influence from everywhere around.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just hey man, what's up? Bootlet cap? Here
- 19:40Speaker 3: for my bookie. Don't forget. Wherever you're at, man, get

- 19:48Speaker 3: to a three point contest, which is so much fun
- 19:50Speaker 3: to dunk contest. Uh, who's gonna win? Who cares?

- 19:54Speaker 3: Players don't care? But you make some money, so you
- 19:56Speaker 3: should care. Go to my bookie right now, use that

- 20:19Speaker 3: bootleg right now. Get in on some of that sports
- 20:22Speaker 3: book action, get in on some of that casino action,
- 20:24Speaker 3: and let's have some fun shouts of my bookie. Who
- 20:27Speaker 3: would you say is like your main I would just
- 20:30Speaker 3: say I wouldn't ask you your influences, but like just
- 20:32Speaker 3: your goats, Like who's your top four or five guys?
- 20:34Speaker 2: That's fluid My brother was asking me this the other day,
- 20:37Speaker 2: and it's like, it really could depend on the day.
- 20:42Speaker 2: That depends on what I need from hip hop at
- 20:44Speaker 2: the moment. So it's kind of tricky. I mean, of
- 20:46Speaker 2: course it's going to be nas Jay, Big Pac some days.
- 20:52Speaker 2: You know, Andre three thousands in the mix.
- 20:55Speaker 1: All right, then guy for more nuanced dancer?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Though, what is.
- 20:57Speaker 1: It to hard?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Tricky? I mean rock? You know my huge fan of
- 21:08Speaker 2: Willy the Kid.
- 21:10Speaker 3: You know, Willy don't get enough flowers man, Wily's cold.
- 21:14Speaker 2: So that's like, yeah, so it's like eras.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, like the Willie the Kid, A lot of the
- 21:18Speaker 3: dark Band, Little Little Pocket that those guys were in,
- 21:21Speaker 3: and like Willy was with drama right for a second, Yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 3: I got Willie is tough.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Some days it's like x poc you know what I mean,
- 21:31Speaker 2: Like some things, I don't you know, what do I
- 21:33Speaker 2: need from from the music. So that's fluid. I don't know,
- 21:35Speaker 2: it's hard to say too many, too much good music.
- 21:38Speaker 3: You have some of the more awesome random project names ever,
- 21:43Speaker 3: Like when you come up with like a Jaguar on
- 21:45Speaker 3: Palisade like series like what did Spot? I feel like
- 21:49Speaker 3: I visually see that.
- 21:52Speaker 2: The explanation is probably super boring. I mean, that's like
- 21:55Speaker 2: a street where where I grew up and when I
- 21:59Speaker 2: had let him up, I guess I used to just
- 22:01Speaker 2: spend a lot of time walking up and down that street.
- 22:04Speaker 2: So one of the things I bought when I got
- 22:07Speaker 2: a little bit of rat money was a X type
- 22:10Speaker 2: mint old joint, La too, thou Man.
- 22:12Speaker 3: That was like, that was a joint, the X type.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah.
- 22:19Speaker 2: So that was like a thing that I always liked
- 22:20Speaker 2: before when I was younger, And it kind of just
- 22:24Speaker 2: hit me one day when I was driving, like, damn,
- 22:26Speaker 2: I used to be up and down.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, hurting.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Now I'm in the crispy jag.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I gave him a rule, no animals under something m
- 22:33Speaker 1: or cars or cars. We called one pento, but I
- 22:36Speaker 1: named it that.
- 22:37Speaker 3: So you have age driving. Used to bean, you have
- 22:40Speaker 3: a new Jaguar now because I'm in the beam now
- 22:42Speaker 3: on the beam now. The last time I was in
- 22:44Speaker 3: the Jaguars was in Waymouth. Do you know what? Yeah, yeah,
- 22:48Speaker 3: yeah they're jaguars.
- 22:49Speaker 2: They got to deal with Jaguars.
- 22:50Speaker 3: You don't realize you get in and you're like, this
- 22:51Speaker 3: is a fucking Jaguars. Is so fucking contraption, This death
- 22:54Speaker 3: contraption that's driving me around Austin, Texas right now.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Now. They're in la.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Worst ways to die or I mean it could I
- 23:01Speaker 3: mean yeah, I mean I guess I feel like my
- 23:04Speaker 3: family would benefit nicely if I died in a way moo,
- 23:07Speaker 3: they could sue.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 3: How many albums do you have officially.
- 23:12Speaker 2: A lost count? It's double digits for sure.
- 23:15Speaker 3: It's a lot.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yeah, crazy, Yeah, double digits.
- 23:17Speaker 3: You think it's like knocking on twenty.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Might be past that, Yeah, but I just look at
- 23:23Speaker 2: it different because of the generation. To me, they just
- 23:26Speaker 2: feel more you know, like, yeah, their albums, but it's
- 23:29Speaker 2: also some things to me when I made them are
- 23:33Speaker 2: like mixtapes or yeah, like stream of Consciousness. It's it's
- 23:38Speaker 2: not the same way it used to be with albums, sure, right,
- 23:42Speaker 2: Like the attention spans are shorter. Music's coming out all
- 23:44Speaker 2: the time. So but yeah, technically you call them albums.
- 23:49Speaker 3: You guys obviously working on this in person, you've had
- 23:54Speaker 3: records where you work with skills or you work with mugs.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Does this feel like part up? Maybe another one?
- 24:02Speaker 1: I think so? I agree, Yeah, yeah, it was, it was.
- 24:05Speaker 1: It was fun. It was fun to make. I made
- 24:07Speaker 1: a beat that was the first one. It's a three
- 24:10Speaker 1: four rhythm, it's sixty five beats permitted. There's no percussion
- 24:16Speaker 1: and wrap on this. Normally I'd have to chop it
- 24:18Speaker 1: to like a four to four, try to make it
- 24:21Speaker 1: a premiere. Mind it kind of be you know what
- 24:22Speaker 1: I mean? And I mean he was like, I'm rap
- 24:25Speaker 1: on it like that. So it's like, I'm realizing that
- 24:29Speaker 1: working with him was dope because it might allow me
- 24:31Speaker 1: to do might push me a little bit or make
- 24:34Speaker 1: me do something different, And I like the options of
- 24:36Speaker 1: having that, you.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Know, yeah, for you man like v Like, you've locked
- 24:40Speaker 3: in with so many incredible mcs. Obviously Rocket Aside, but
- 24:44Speaker 3: you know even Blue, you know Blues on the album,
- 24:46Speaker 3: but he's also a fucking alien. Is it like, do
- 24:51Speaker 3: you approach each one of these studio sessions depending on
- 24:54Speaker 3: who the who the MC is differently or is it like, hey,
- 24:58Speaker 3: you're you're pulling up. I just followed my head blew.
- 25:04Speaker 1: This one was a very It was a wild card
- 25:05Speaker 1: a little bit in the sense that I kind of
- 25:07Speaker 1: I knew we'd been trying to link forever. I knew
- 25:09Speaker 1: we made something dope he came over into twenty or
- 25:15Speaker 1: twenty twenty one on the way back to the airport,
- 25:19Speaker 1: and I had a beat up and he did a
- 25:21Speaker 1: rhyme and it was quick, and I didn't feel the magic,
- 25:24Speaker 1: and it just sat in my fucking not that the
- 25:26Speaker 1: rhyme was bad or my beat was bad, I just
- 25:28Speaker 1: didn't feel the Yeah. And then this time something different happened,
- 25:32Speaker 1: so our lives have whatever you've been doing and whatever
- 25:35Speaker 1: I've been doing came back right here to where I
- 25:37Speaker 1: was like, I want to do this project. Not to
- 25:39Speaker 1: mention his accolades and everything else, I have a high
- 25:42Speaker 1: respect for his rappid you know, but yeah, it's something
- 25:47Speaker 1: we could run back, especially if the if the vinyls
- 25:50Speaker 1: received well, then definitely.
- 25:52Speaker 3: You know, what is it for you? Man? Like being
- 25:54Speaker 3: able to connect with like legendary West Coast produces, working
- 25:57Speaker 3: on whole albums with Mugs or ev Like, what is it?
- 26:00Speaker 3: What is it about? You? Feel like the West Coast
- 26:01Speaker 3: underground sound that just kind of cuts through and works
- 26:06Speaker 3: so well with how you rap? Mm hmm.
- 26:10Speaker 2: It's funny because I guess again, like that's a regional
- 26:15Speaker 2: kind of outlook. I just look at it like just
- 26:18Speaker 2: the sound that I gravitate towards. Whether it was because
- 26:21Speaker 2: he could have easily been an East Coast producer, right,
- 26:24Speaker 2: I mean everybody thought these guys are from New York.
- 26:27Speaker 2: So yeah, it's just a sound. It's just that ship
- 26:30Speaker 2: that I like. But yeah, it's super humbled and honored
- 26:34Speaker 2: anytime I get a chance to do something with you
- 26:35Speaker 2: know EV or you know someone like a Mugs or
- 26:39Speaker 2: you know, good resume, and it's always humbling because you know,
- 26:42Speaker 2: I used to rap on these people's beats on YouTube
- 26:45Speaker 2: or whatever back in the day.
- 26:48Speaker 3: So it's like, I know, you have a project called
- 26:52Speaker 3: Los Poils Hermanos with Gus fring on the on the cover.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I have to ask you this question, what shows better
- 27:00Speaker 3: Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul.
- 27:04Speaker 2: It's not a question that's going to say a.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Lot of people put better call Sau, but Breaking Bad.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I know it's not the popular opinion, but the opinion exists.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Wronger that have you ever did you finish better?
- 27:17Speaker 2: Cos you finished it? Yeah?
- 27:19Speaker 3: People love that show.
- 27:21Speaker 2: No, not fire.
- 27:22Speaker 3: That was okay. As a Jersey guy, I hated Breaking Bad.
- 27:25Speaker 3: The Sopranosos.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I never watched Sopranos.
- 27:30Speaker 3: I never watched the end.
- 27:31Speaker 1: I never watched one.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Sopranos is not one.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Not one episode, the whole ship. It's it's you gotta
- 27:38Speaker 3: watch the bad.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I rewatched it once every two or three.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Years with the wire above everything, and I tried that,
- 27:43Speaker 1: but it's like time sensitive because I'm like, I can't
- 27:47Speaker 1: do it now. Man, you had to be there. It's
- 27:49Speaker 1: like a lot of music, you kind of had to
- 27:51Speaker 1: be there.
- 27:51Speaker 3: You got to get through that.
- 27:52Speaker 1: You have to smell the air that year.
- 27:54Speaker 3: No, that's true. It's funny because, like I feel like
- 27:56Speaker 3: a lot of kids these days have a hard time.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Like if I give somebody, like my kid, like an
- 28:02Speaker 3: album that I know he'll like because I know who
- 28:04Speaker 3: he likes, it's new, he just can't connect to it
- 28:07Speaker 3: because it's old. And like, I'm like, how can you
- 28:10Speaker 3: not connect with this? This is my life. Listen to
- 28:13Speaker 3: this fucking outcast album A Kleminides. You know you love
- 28:17Speaker 3: Tyler the Creator, you like all that shit. Listen to this.
- 28:19Speaker 3: You'll love this and you just can't connect to it.
- 28:22Speaker 3: But I guess the TV it could be that way too.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Clem of Thrones I've never watched, and I will never
- 28:27Speaker 2: watch probably.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Wow, that's an old timer. It is, So what about you?
- 28:32Speaker 3: What's your favorite TV show? Fucking signed or something?
- 28:38Speaker 1: I just want I do all my ship and then
- 28:40Speaker 1: I put it on at the end, I watched Bobby
- 28:42Speaker 1: beat Bobby fla. That's what I do. Okay, Okay, I'm
- 28:45Speaker 1: not into it.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Soprano's your goat?
- 28:48Speaker 2: What of wires up there?
- 28:50Speaker 1: Movies?
- 28:50Speaker 2: Liars up there?
- 28:51Speaker 3: The wire is so good man, oh so good. You
- 28:55Speaker 3: know what's crazy about the wire? As you meant? I mean,
- 28:57Speaker 3: I don't know how you reacted when season two started
- 28:59Speaker 3: and you were like, where's every everybody at? What's this doc? Shit?
- 29:01Speaker 3: For sure not saying yet that fucking season when you
- 29:04Speaker 3: rewatch it, it's so fucking good man.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yep.
- 29:07Speaker 3: And what's his name? Old boy just passed away, the
- 29:10Speaker 3: hank the main that the old dude the ball did
- 29:12Speaker 3: rest in peace.
- 29:13Speaker 1: But is this wire talk I missed?
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah, we're in the middle of some wire talk right now.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Shout out young Guru. He loves the wire.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Shots Young Guru talk about for you man, like, uh,
- 29:22Speaker 3: do you already have like twelve albums planned for the
- 29:25Speaker 3: rest of the year because your output is so fucking insane.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I'm assuming the next thing is already lined up.
- 29:30Speaker 1: That's what I told him. I said, chill a little,
- 29:32Speaker 1: step on it, let us live for a month.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Come on, yeah something. I'm always making music and it
- 29:37Speaker 2: doesn't mean that I'm in the studio every day, but
- 29:41Speaker 2: I just always like to be writing songs and recording them. Yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 2: It might not be in the studio every day, but
- 29:46Speaker 2: when I go, you know, five six songs and they
- 29:50Speaker 2: don't have to be for one thing. It's just like
- 29:53Speaker 2: a stove has four burners and I like to keep
- 29:55Speaker 2: all four burners occupied. What about it?
- 29:58Speaker 1: Rits on a crazy level for real?
- 29:59Speaker 3: First, well, I mean you live in the studio quite literally.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Are you already working on the new album or you
- 30:07Speaker 3: are working as step Brothers coming there's.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I played you a rap.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Fire Fire.
- 30:14Speaker 1: As soon as it was done, you went, come on.
- 30:16Speaker 3: That was the word come on, And that's for your first.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just starting to work right now. I want
- 30:21Speaker 1: to do what we're doing and just work. Yeah, and
- 30:24Speaker 1: when I have it, I'll have it. I'll been I've
- 30:27Speaker 1: been talking.
- 30:28Speaker 3: I just like to say the hip Boy al album's
- 30:31Speaker 3: got to be like it was good? Right, So you're like, hey, man.
- 30:36Speaker 1: No, there's Gang Green. You'd be surprised. He'd be pressuring
- 30:40Speaker 1: me more than i'd be pressure.
- 30:42Speaker 3: We've had the conversation with him a bunch.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Yeah, So no, no, no, I gotta I think a lot.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Sometimes I gotta get over shit, you know what I mean.
- 30:50Speaker 3: But I feel like you're getting over shit.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I am getting over shit. I've been through a wild
- 30:54Speaker 1: time in my life.
- 30:54Speaker 3: So I feel like this is like I feel like
- 30:56Speaker 3: you're in a really good space creatively.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah, And I feel like you're in a really.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Good basically just like like I feel like the old
- 31:02Speaker 3: EV would have needed to have everything lined up, the
- 31:06Speaker 3: hard copies ready, and you're like, no, let's just stow
- 31:09Speaker 3: this out and like see how it does. And well,
- 31:10Speaker 3: fucking you.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Know, I'm excited for what's to come in. I just
- 31:13Speaker 1: want to be creative and move in real time and
- 31:17Speaker 1: repetition and quality and yeah, for people.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Who don't know, what is the kind of the backstory
- 31:25Speaker 3: on Bigger Picture.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I started a label in twenty twenty one and Alchemist
- 31:32Speaker 1: was putting me up on Game right around then. It
- 31:33Speaker 1: was a Boldie James and the early not that. Yeah,
- 31:37Speaker 1: I guess the early releases of ALC. Yeah, I was
- 31:41Speaker 1: seeing what he was doing, and he was telling me,
- 31:45Speaker 1: you need to do this, you need to trip it.
- 31:47Speaker 1: And so I took a lot of what he said.
- 31:48Speaker 1: He put me up on a game as far as like,
- 31:51Speaker 1: here's mistakes I made. If you don't do that, that
- 31:55Speaker 1: might save you two years right there, you know. So
- 31:57Speaker 1: it wasn't like here's how you're going to do this,
- 32:00Speaker 1: but it was kind of showing me how it works,
- 32:02Speaker 1: you know. And so my first record was an instrumental album.
- 32:06Speaker 1: I started Squirrel Tape instrumentals, Yeah, and then I did
- 32:10Speaker 1: a Planet Asia album Rule of Thirds and started making
- 32:13Speaker 1: forty fives and started doing all this shit. And also
- 32:16Speaker 1: because being there for my son, so you know, our
- 32:19Speaker 1: single dad, and so it was like, how do I
- 32:22Speaker 1: not have to chase the world book broadcast from my room,
- 32:25Speaker 1: you know, and preparation for me to be off rhyme
- 32:29Speaker 1: says one day and what am I going to do then?
- 32:32Speaker 1: So it's just I was nesting and nesting this bitch
- 32:35Speaker 1: and I did. I'm on this is I got almost
- 32:39Speaker 1: twenty nine releases. My twenty ninth release that's crazy, you know,
- 32:43Speaker 1: And twenty nine is wild it's wild man. I've been
- 32:45Speaker 1: working crazy, you know. I got my master's back from
- 32:47Speaker 1: ABB and this one and that one. So I'm at
- 32:50Speaker 1: bigger picture, oh twenty nine right now.
- 32:54Speaker 3: So you have like the master's back from the first album. Yeah,
- 32:58Speaker 3: because Weatherman was ABB, wasn't it.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 33:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, got that bag, did a re release.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, because I feel like weather Man, Am I crazy?
- 33:05Speaker 3: Or was it not? On DSPs for a sec We've
- 33:08Speaker 3: had a lot of problems. Yeah, because I just remember
- 33:10Speaker 3: being like, how the fuck is the weather.
- 33:12Speaker 1: And the clean one got logged on eventually and it's
- 33:15Speaker 1: just been a big mess. So oh that's all resolved.
- 33:17Speaker 1: But you know, so just looking out for my future,
- 33:20Speaker 1: for my son to yeah own all this one day,
- 33:22Speaker 1: you know, things like real boss shit. I want to
- 33:26Speaker 1: move into that place where it's like on the label
- 33:29Speaker 1: and I'm making the beats. I can do the wrap.
- 33:31Speaker 1: There is a ship but on a you know, as
- 33:35Speaker 1: not on that level. But dude, I feel like that's
- 33:37Speaker 1: a great example of everyone to look at, you know
- 33:39Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 33:39Speaker 3: I feel like Al has somehow underratedly mastered this. Yeah,
- 33:45Speaker 3: the merch drop he just did, he did like a book.
- 33:48Speaker 3: I don't know, if y'all see this like little book
- 33:49Speaker 3: thing that opened, it was like.
- 33:50Speaker 1: That's volume three. That's how late you are. There's been
- 33:52Speaker 1: two other books.
- 33:53Speaker 3: No, but I'm just like, I'm like, this fucking guy
- 33:55Speaker 3: is you go on eBay and just type in his
- 33:58Speaker 3: vinyl and it's it's like it's like collecting. It's like
- 34:02Speaker 3: collector's items, you know what I'm saying, Like, you know,
- 34:04Speaker 3: shouts at my comedy as well as someone who also
- 34:06Speaker 3: has done a really good job of that ship. But
- 34:08Speaker 3: you know, uh yeah, it's it's crazy just you know,
- 34:11Speaker 3: he just I mean, I'll just announced this new Larry
- 34:13Speaker 3: June currency album. It's like this guy doesn't stop.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Man, It's beautiful and it's and if you're around that
- 34:19Speaker 1: every day, yeah, you put yourself in intimidating, humbling situations.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Yeah you're gonna rise.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Is there an EMC man that you would love to
- 34:30Speaker 3: do a full collab album with that you haven't worked
- 34:33Speaker 3: with yet?
- 34:34Speaker 1: MC?
- 34:34Speaker 3: Yeah, MC.
- 34:44Speaker 2: No, no, not really full album is crazy like joints
- 34:49Speaker 2: for sure, Like.
- 34:50Speaker 1: You don't want to wrap with nobody for a whole
- 34:53Speaker 1: like you and somebody stopped you and something because.
- 34:57Speaker 2: The humanity level. Look, that's a big thing for me,
- 34:59Speaker 2: Like I gotta fuk you as a human who fuck
- 35:01Speaker 2: with him as a human, we would have never like
- 35:03Speaker 2: this album could have never happened, and he would still
- 35:07Speaker 2: be someone who I know, Like if I ask him
- 35:09Speaker 2: a question, the answer I could confide in the answer
- 35:13Speaker 2: right and the wisdom. So that's like a human thing.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I don't know a lot of people that I admire
- 35:19Speaker 2: a lot that I want to work with. Like what
- 35:21Speaker 2: if I say someone in but he's a jerk off
- 35:23Speaker 2: in real life?
- 35:24Speaker 3: Then what about someone who you have met and have
- 35:27Speaker 3: a relationship with it just for whatever reason, you guys.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Haven't rock rock Marcy for sure. Yeah, great human you
- 35:33Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. And I think that would be crazy.
- 35:35Speaker 2: And we've talked about working. I don't know it would
- 35:37Speaker 2: be that capacity, more like on the production side, so
- 35:39Speaker 2: we'll see. But yeah, like the humanity is important, especially
- 35:43Speaker 2: for like a full album. Yeah, you don't got to
- 35:45Speaker 2: be a stand up guy to do a song with me.
- 35:46Speaker 3: But hey, we got to stop the interview to tell
- 35:48Speaker 3: you about our good folks odd socks.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Man.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Now these are the odd socks basics, Ladies and gentlemen. Now,
- 35:53Speaker 3: when I tell you this is a product that every
- 35:57Speaker 3: single day I'm alive for the last five six years
- 36:02Speaker 3: I have used are these odd Socks Basics. Now, what
- 36:05Speaker 3: odd Socks is doing is they're kind of reinventing the
- 36:07Speaker 3: sock game, if we're being honest, and the underwear game.
- 36:09Speaker 3: You know, a lot of times you'll hit Walmart, you'll
- 36:11Speaker 3: hit Target, you'll get some socks, you get some draws.
- 36:13Speaker 3: They're affordable, they end up with holes in them, they
- 36:16Speaker 3: don't really feel great. Not odd Socks, ladies and gentlemen.
- 36:19Speaker 3: These odd Socks Basics are the most comfortable socks I've
- 36:23Speaker 3: ever had on my feet. Not only that, but you're
- 36:26Speaker 3: super affordable. Fourteen ninety nine for a six pack. That's
- 36:30Speaker 3: it odd socks dot com. And if you don't believe me,
- 36:36Speaker 3: sock check full. Wait that's the ex is on the
- 36:39Speaker 3: other side.
- 36:40Speaker 2: There we go.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Ah, you see that. Sorry you had to see those
- 36:45Speaker 3: white legs. But it's so dope that you know, I
- 36:49Speaker 3: get to push a product that I use in that
- 36:50Speaker 3: I love so odd socks. They got the six pack
- 36:54Speaker 3: socks for fourteen ninety nine at odd socks dot com.
- 36:56Speaker 3: The basics. This is the future of socks, The future
- 37:00Speaker 3: of underwear comfort and affordability. I'm talking about affordability without
- 37:05Speaker 3: jeopardizing the quality because they are the most comfortable socks
- 37:08Speaker 3: you'll ever put on your feet. Ladies and gents and
- 37:11Speaker 3: the ETCeteras. Got to show love to the ETCeteras. We
- 37:13Speaker 3: like all the stripes on the flag. There are odd
- 37:16Speaker 3: socks dot com Man. Much love to my brothers over there. Hey,
- 37:18Speaker 3: we gotta wrap up this interview, another one presented by
- 37:21Speaker 3: Hardan Baby, you already know what it is. Shout out
- 37:24Speaker 3: to Hardeen for presenting another episode of the bootle Like podcast.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Don't forget when you're in Vegas, you get in that
- 37:29Speaker 3: tax you getting that uber say, take me to Hardean,
- 37:31Speaker 3: the number one cannabis dispensary in the world. Premium selection
- 37:35Speaker 3: of the craziest gas you could ever ask for, and
- 37:38Speaker 3: then they break down all what all the terps mean.
- 37:40Speaker 3: It's incredible. Go to Harden Underscore, Las Vegas. Shoot them
- 37:43Speaker 3: a follow and when you're in Las Vegas and make
- 37:45Speaker 3: sure you shoot them a visit. I'm wondering for you, like, uh,
- 37:49Speaker 3: you see so many artists who are able to kind
- 37:52Speaker 3: of like turn their personality into a thing. Have you
- 37:57Speaker 3: ever seen like you know, maybe it's someone has a
- 37:59Speaker 3: YouTube channel, or is that ever something you've seen, like, man,
- 38:02Speaker 3: maybe I should be doing because I feel like you
- 38:05Speaker 3: got a good personality. Is that something that you've ever
- 38:06Speaker 3: thought about doing? Like, I don't know what you're into,
- 38:08Speaker 3: like twitch or something cooking?
- 38:10Speaker 2: Is it? No?
- 38:10Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe you're what are you fucking into?
- 38:12Speaker 3: You're into collecting fucking basketball cards? I don't know what
- 38:15Speaker 3: you're into. But I feel like a lot of artists
- 38:17Speaker 3: are like extending their brand past the music in a
- 38:21Speaker 3: way where like almost everyone's becoming content creators, you.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Know, yeah, doing an extra shit. Yeah, I think I
- 38:25Speaker 2: do that with like the merch you know, which is
- 38:28Speaker 2: like depending on who you ask, it's merch or it's
- 38:31Speaker 2: a clothing line. Yeah, either way, it probably started off
- 38:34Speaker 2: more on the merch side, and now it's like, you
- 38:37Speaker 2: know different, you know, we're doing like crazy shit.
- 38:39Speaker 3: If you consult for other artists where like if like
- 38:42Speaker 3: someone needed help with that type of shit, for sure.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Yeah a lot of them need help with that type
- 38:46Speaker 2: of shit.
- 38:47Speaker 3: I mean I would argue most of them.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of them need help, man, because it sucks.
- 38:51Speaker 2: It's like one thing can throw everything off, you could
- 38:53Speaker 2: be fire, but the album RK sucks or you know,
- 38:57Speaker 2: everything else could be fire, but the way your Instagram
- 39:00Speaker 2: and there's just ass. I would definitely do that.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Do you think, because I know that you don't post
- 39:05Speaker 3: a lot, do you think ig aesthetic matters?
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, yeah yeah. And there's different rules that right there,
- 39:13Speaker 2: Like you got to do twenty reels a month to
- 39:16Speaker 2: for your shit to go crazy. Some people say that
- 39:18Speaker 2: it depends on what you want. That's fair, It depends
- 39:21Speaker 2: on what your is. I'm like catering to my core
- 39:25Speaker 2: most of the time. Everyone who hasn't heard of it
- 39:28Speaker 2: or is new to it, you guys are welcome aboard.
- 39:31Speaker 2: But I don't really play that game where it's like
- 39:34Speaker 2: I have to hack your attention twenty four to seven.
- 39:36Speaker 2: That's like tedious. I got a real life.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, it's definitely dude. Being an artist is
- 39:42Speaker 3: you know, depending on who you ask, you also have
- 39:45Speaker 3: to be a full time content creator, which is like
- 39:48Speaker 3: its own thing. Like you said, it's like somebody will
- 39:51Speaker 3: shoot twenty reels for one record.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Yeah. I think my way of connecting with people too,
- 39:56Speaker 2: is like and I've heard this from from fans before,
- 39:59Speaker 2: it's like just showing even stories and stuff or whatever,
- 40:03Speaker 2: like or dumps photo dumps where it's like a you
- 40:07Speaker 2: see where I went, you see what I ate? People
- 40:10Speaker 2: will see they know I ride the bikes in the
- 40:11Speaker 2: spring or shoot hoops or make a good spat show
- 40:15Speaker 2: in my kitchen.
- 40:16Speaker 3: What's your team? Are you a nets guy?
- 40:19Speaker 2: I'm not even a team guy, just because it's just
- 40:21Speaker 2: crazy being from New Jersey. They took our team and
- 40:24Speaker 2: so yeah, I'm more like it. You know KD, big
- 40:29Speaker 2: Westbrook fan, Kobe.
- 40:31Speaker 3: KD fucking great ear for hip hop. They guy's tap
- 40:35Speaker 3: the fucking.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Check our new shit out. You and Katie No, I
- 40:39Speaker 2: don't know, I'm saying, listen to our album.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Oh please? Yeah, I feel like Katie, I feel like
- 40:43Speaker 3: you'd be the type of artist like Katie d m
- 40:45Speaker 3: randomly like let me exact.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I've always been like more of a follower with
- 40:51Speaker 2: players and shit like that.
- 40:52Speaker 3: You like the Keith van Horn nets. Wasn't your your sure?
- 40:55Speaker 2: No? That was the last time the nets were in
- 40:57Speaker 2: my bag? Right, it's Carter Jason k Mark Kittles Right,
- 41:01Speaker 2: Oh that was that was a good team on NBA
- 41:03Speaker 2: or ever went to the finals. Against the LA Lakers.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Yeah, washed, but it is what it is.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I am watching no sports.
- 41:11Speaker 3: Man, you're not You're not a Laker guy.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Fuck no, I haven't been a Laker guy since I
- 41:16Speaker 1: could name players on the team.
- 41:18Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I kind of feel the same. I was just saying
- 41:20Speaker 2: this the other day. I like sportswear more than I
- 41:22Speaker 2: like the sports itself now, right, it's kind of like
- 41:25Speaker 2: the coliseum in Rome these days. Yeah, there's some shit
- 41:29Speaker 2: going on, so I'm not super like. You know, I
- 41:32Speaker 2: admire people who have the time to join fantasy leagues
- 41:36Speaker 2: and shit like that.
- 41:37Speaker 3: That's every year I say to myself, I'm never playing
- 41:43Speaker 3: fantasy football again because it takes up so much of
- 41:46Speaker 3: my mental space. And then every fucking year I'm part
- 41:50Speaker 3: of this league. It's like twenty years old. These motherfuckers
- 41:53Speaker 3: dragged me back in and then I'm over here at
- 41:56Speaker 3: two am waiting for the waivers to clear to pick
- 41:58Speaker 3: up players. Not the live. You're a smart man, Stay
- 42:01Speaker 3: away from sports. They're evil. We don't know these fucking teams.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I've been wearing odd socks, so that's a good thing.
- 42:06Speaker 3: That's good shots.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Odd socks, shot out socks.
- 42:08Speaker 3: We gotta get Green Apple some odd socks anyway. List
- 42:11Speaker 3: The album is out War Cash.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Car Wash War Cash, Dumb Name, Great.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Name, Video drop Yesterday, Right.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Video dropped yesterday. Album is out today streaming. We're gonna
- 42:23Speaker 1: do vinyl vinyl limited amounts when I do announce it,
- 42:26Speaker 1: please tune in. Well, I think we'll be running it back.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Hopefully this can come to be some kind of live
- 42:32Speaker 1: event at some point.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Yeah. I feel like you guys can at least do
- 42:35Speaker 3: two or three shows for this, you know, do the
- 42:37Speaker 3: East Coast to LA.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Something good or pop up up, do a pop up yea.
- 42:43Speaker 3: But whenever you guys and I do a merch drop
- 42:45Speaker 3: when the vinyl.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Comes coming, and I'm definitely here to say, my god,
- 42:49Speaker 1: I love the way he wrapped on this, and that's
- 42:51Speaker 1: why we're here because I really need to broadcast that message,
- 42:55Speaker 1: like Yo, this is dope.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Go stream it and the hard copies are coming as
- 43:00Speaker 3: soon as they're done.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Yes, yep, thank you for having us, of.
