Mark chapter 5, let us pray, our Father, who is in heaven, holy,

earth, just as it is there in heaven.

Give us today Our Daily Bread and forgive us for our

trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Lead us not into temptation, Father, but deliver us from the

evil one, for yours is the Kingdom, and the power and the

glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Well, let's start in verse one. And they came over unto the

other side of the sea, into the country of the gatherings.

So here you're going to see a few things.

You're going to see that Jesus did not approach this demoniac.

You're going to see that this was Jesus's mission to go.

So it's a very quite interesting verse here that Jesus knew what

he was going to do. However, he was not the one who
1:21
initiated the exchange. Let's think about that for a
1:24
second. Verse 2.

And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him
1:33
out of the tombs of man with an unclean spirit.

So we know that this was a demon possessed man.

We know that he used to cut himself and he was living within
1:45
the tombs. We know that he was so strong
1:49
that no one can bind him. And we see a lot of it in our
1:53
day, in our hour. And what do we do?

We medicate it, verse three. Who had his dwelling among the

tombs, and no man could bind him?

No, not with chains. So he had this supernatural
2:05
strength, verse 4, because that he had been often bound with
2:11
feathers and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder
2:14
by him, and the fetters broken in pieces.

Neither could any man tame him. We also know that there was a
2:22
second demoniac there with him. There was two of them, but this
2:26
one seems to be the most vocal. 5 And always, night and day he
2:33
was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying and cutting
2:36
himself with stones. You know this is where the devil
2:41
will always take us. He is our adversary for a
2:46
reason. He is so incredibly incensed
2:50
against us because we were made in God's image and we were made
2:56
lower than the angels, but the angels were to serve us and that
3:00
is what sparked the great rebellion.

And here you're seeing this man who is hijacked by demons and
3:11
their entire goal is to destroy this man and to get him to
3:19
defile himself and to get him to mar himself and mar the image of
3:25
God. And you can see it all over the
3:28
place. He even here in our day, in our
3:31
hour, and in our land, you can see how the enemy comes in and
3:36
he gets us to forget our worth that comes from God, the dignity
3:41
that comes from being made in the image of God being God's
3:45
masterpiece. And what does the enemy do?
3:48
He wants you to be snuffed out. He wants you to offer yourself.

He wants you to take the image of God and destroy it because He
4:00
hates it. This is where opening ourselves
4:07
up to the occult, opening ourselves up to this new age
4:11
garbage, opening ourselves up to all the spirituality that is not
4:16
the judeo-christian spirituality, the
4:19
judeo-christian one true living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac

and Jacob. When we open ourselves up to any
4:26
other spirituality, any other, any other, what you're going to
4:34
find is that you will be in the same position that this man is.

It is a place of suicidal tendencies.

It is a place of self destruction.

It is a place where you are listening to the demons and the

demons are trying to get you to make a mess out of your life.

And even for us who have been blood bought, born again, who

are indwelled by the Holy Spirit, praise the Lord God

Almighty. We cannot be indwelled with
5:10
these demons, We cannot be possessed by them, but we can be
5:15
influenced and we can also be oppressed by them.

And we need to know where those voices are coming from.

We need to know whenever they enter into the room, when they
5:28
enter into your mind. We need to have the full armor
5:32
of God on. We need to counter them with
5:34
God's word and the truth of God. We need to be able to identify
5:38
at its root before it ever produces any kind of rotten
5:45
fruit in our lives. We need to be able to nip it in
5:48
the bud. We need to be able to see it for
5:50
what it is immediately. All of those negative voices,
5:55
those cynical voices, all of those critical voices that come
6:01
flooding into your mind telling you that you're ugly, telling
6:04
you that you're not worth anything, you need to be able to
6:07
get those things out of there immediately.

You need to place the word of God over all of those lies and
6:16
watch how the enemy flees, friends.
6:18
It's a very simple formula. But if you are entertaining all
6:22
of those ideas, entertaining all of those thoughts, entertaining
6:28
all of those actions, if you're clicking on things that you're
6:32
not supposed to, if you're steeped and wrapped up in
6:35
vanity, if you're steeped and wrapped up in pornography, then
6:39
you are being influenced and oppressed.

And if you do not have the dwelling of the Holy Spirit, you
6:46
are at risk of being possessed by those things.

Friends, it's a very simple application.

The spiritual world is more real than the physical world that you

and I look around and can feel and touch and taste.

It is the spiritual world that is going to go on and on and on
7:11
and on and on, forever and always.

And we need to know that we are trapped in this time space

continuum. We are trapped in this little
7:24
bubble. But God is not inside of time.

God lives outside of time. And one day you and I will be
7:34
placed with God in all of eternity, forever and ever.

Or for those who have never trusted in the Lord Jesus

Christ, they will have to go forever and ever and ever and
7:45
ever and to eternal damnation and separation from God

Almighty. So this is the entire goal of

the demonic realm is to drag us away from the reality that God
7:58
is real and that God loves and that we're made in his image and

that we are his masterpiece. 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off,

he ran and worshipped him. Even the demons know that there
8:14
is one true living God. Even the demons know that Jesus
8:18
Christ is real, and they shudder.

Friends, why He's going to tell you why in seven and cried with
8:26
a loud voice and said, what have I to do with thee?

Jesus, you son of the Most High God, I adjure thee by God that
8:36
you do not torment me. So here we can see that Jesus
8:41
has the ability to torment the spirits.
8:46
Just the name of Jesus and darkness flees.

Bring that name upon your lips, friends.
8:51
That is the name above all names.
8:54
That's the only power under all of heaven that has the authority
8:59
to make the demons flee. If you're coming up against the

demons in the name of any other prophet, any other person, any
9:08
other pastor, any other, any other man, any other power,
9:14
you're going to be defeated 10 times out of 10.

You're going to be overtaken 10 times out of 10.

But bring that name upon your lips, the name of Jesus Christ,

Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus the anointed One, Jesus our Lord and
9:31
Savior. We need to bring that name upon

our lips. Everybody who calls on the name
9:37
of the Lord shall be saved, friends, and believe in your
9:40
heart that God raised him from the dead.

It is the name above all names. Jesus.

And watch how the darkness flees.

Jesus has that authority. He snatched the keys to hell.

Jesus has the authority to command the unclean and foul
9:58
spirits to leave. Bring that name upon your lips.

Any time that you feel those critical, cynical, those
10:06
demoralizing all of the voices that are trying to torment you,
10:14
bring that name upon your lips. Oh Jesus, help Jesus save me.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, and watch the enemy flee.

He cannot stand that name. He cannot be in the same room as
10:32
that name. He cannot be in the same mind as
10:35
that name. You must bring that name upon
10:38
your lips. You must command the unclean
10:43
foul spirits in the name of Jesus to leave you alone in
10:46
silence. The Accuser 8 For he said unto
10:53
him, Come out of that man, you unclean spirit. 9 And he asked
10:57
him, What is your name? And he answered, saying, My name

is legion, for we are many. So we know that a Roman legion
11:04
was 6000 soldiers. Perhaps there was 6000 demons
11:09
inside of this man. This supernatural strength, look
11:13
at how no one could bind him. This demon possessed man
11:19
possessed supernatural abilities and you can see here that he
11:25
likens himself to a Roman legion.

He says my name is legion for we are many 10.

And he begged him much that he would not send them away out of
11:40
the country. So here we can see that the
11:42
demons are geographical. The demons, once they have a
11:47
stronghold, they do not want to give it up.

This is some some deep spiritual application of what's actually
11:55
happening behind the curtain. Friends, what you and I, what we
11:59
can only see and taste and smell and feel, all of the senses that
12:04
we have here in this physical realm are little hundred 120
12:08
years that we have on this earth.

And all we have are history books that tell us what has
12:14
happened in the past. And all we have is a bunch of
12:18
predictions of what will happen in the future.

But the reality is God created all of the angelic beings.

And then God created Adam and Eve and told him to be fruitful

and multiply. And there's this overlap between
12:37
these immortal angelic beings, some of them fallen and some of
12:47
them warring for you, protecting you.

And there is this war that is waging all around you.

And here we are. We're just kicking the can down

the road. We're just playing hopscotch on
13:03
the sidewalk when there is this war all around us.

And we need to have I to be able to peek and to peer and to see
13:12
what's actually happening all around us.

Friends, we need to be able to see every single human being
13:19
that we meet today as eternal beings that are going to spend
13:25
eternity somewhere. And there is only two choices,

friends. There's heaven and hell, and we
13:31
need to be broken for those who are choosing to go to hell, and
13:36
we need to celebrate those who have The blinders fall off of
13:40
them, their scales fall off of their eyes, the plugs unplugged
13:45
out of their ears. And they can see and they can
13:47
hear, and they know that there's something more than just what
13:52
they can see here in the physical.

They know that there is a spiritual realm, and far be it
13:59
from us to try to tap into the demonic, into the occult.

Far be it from us to go and get our palms read and go to a
14:09
psychic, or to practice the tarot cards.

Far be it from us, friends, to be steeped in witchcraft and the
14:17
occult. Take that stuff outside and burn
14:21
it in the name of Jesus Christ. Get rid of all of your horror
14:25
films. Get rid of all of the things in
14:28
your house that are not adding up that are keeping you from
14:32
experiencing the fullness of God Almighty.

Take all of the demonic occult things out of your life.

Friends, consecrate the temple and watch how the Holy Spirit
14:44
fills you and floods you and you are empowered from on high.
14:49
Praise the Lord God Almighty. These demons, they had a
14:53
stronghold there in the gatherings, and they did not
14:59
want to leave that place. They had found a home, they had
15:02
found comfort. And there is coming a time where
15:06
all of the fallen angels, all of the demonic realm will be dealt
15:12
with. They will have to go to the
15:14
judgment that God has awaiting them, and they will have to go
15:18
to eternal prison and eternal lake of fire.

They will have to go to be tortured for all of eternity,
15:29
forever and ever. And this is what the demons did
15:33
not want at this time. They did not want to have to go
15:36
and face that judgement at this time.

They were liking their play day. They were liking their
15:42
assignment to come and to pull all the evil out of mankind and
15:46
just expose us for who we truly are.

And that is the goal and that is the purpose of God allowing
15:54
Satan and all the demonics to roam all over this earth is
15:59
because what does it do? It exposes us.

It exposes our inner sin. Friends, we cannot hide it.

And as Satan comes and tempts us with all of his luxury, with all
16:12
of his seduction, what do we do? We latch on to it and it exposes
16:17
us for who we truly are and who we are, our people who
16:20
desperately need Jesus Christ, the only one that was able to
16:25
live a perfect and sinless life. And that is the only way that
16:28
you and I are going to get there.

And He gives you a clean heart, friends.
16:34
He comes in and He gives you a clear conscience, friends.

And you don't have to live in the past and you don't have to
16:40
be fearful of the future. You can have peace because of
16:44
what He did on the cross, friends. 11 Now there was there
16:50
near unto the mountains, a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And
16:55
all the devils begged him, saying, Send us into the swine,
16:59
that we may enter into them. 13 And forth with Jesus gave them
17:04
leave. And the unclean spirits went out
17:06
and entered into the swine, and the herd ran violently down a
17:11
steep place into the sea. There they were about 2000 and
17:17
were choked in the sea. So you can see that the demons
17:24
would rather go and torment these animals than to have to go
17:30
and face the judgement that God has awaiting for them.
17:35
They did not want to leave that land. 14 And they that fed the
17:40
swine fled and told it in the city and in the country, and
17:45
they went out to see what it was that was done.
17:49
So if you can imagine this scene, Jesus is landing on the
17:53
seashore. This demoniac comes and finds
17:57
Jesus and he calls him who he is, the Son of the Most High
18:01
God, and begs him not to torment him.
18:04
And then he begs them to allow the demons to go into the pigs.
18:07
The pigs run off the Cliff and they're all drowned in the
18:10
people see it all, and they run into town to tell everybody all
18:15
of the events that have happened. 15 And they come to
18:20
Jesus and see him that was possessed with the devil and had
18:25
the Legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind.
18:29
And they were afraid. Imagine that they were afraid to
18:33
see a demoniac in his right mind.
18:37
This defies the common sense. Friends, they should have
18:40
celebrated this moment, but they were so wrapped up in their
18:44
industry that Jesus had just ruined thousands of dollars
18:52
worth of product with the pigs running off and drowning.
18:57
And here they're scratching their head trying to figure out
19:01
how this man is in his right mind.
19:05
And this is the lesson. We should always value human
19:09
life over animal life seven days a week. 365 If you have a choice
19:18
to take care of an animal or to take care of a human, you should
19:22
always side with the human friends.

Humans are eternal beings and animals are not.

Animals will cease to exist upon the time that they lose their
19:39
life. 16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him
19:48
that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the
19:52
swine. 17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their
19:57
coasts. They're saying Leave here,

they're saying. We would rather have put up with
20:04
this demoniac in the cemetery and have all of our pigs than to
20:08
lose our pigs and have this man restored back to his right mind.

How despicable. 18 And when he was coming to the ship, he that
20:22
had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might
20:25
be with him. He wanted to go with Jesus.
20:30
What was wrong with that? There's a lot of wrong in the
20:33
fact that these people asked Jesus to leave for restoring
20:37
this man to his right mind. And there was nothing wrong with
20:42
this man asking to go with Jesus.
20:45
Let's see how it plays out. 19 How be it Jesus suffered him
20:49
not, but said unto him, Go home to your friends and tell them
20:56
how great things the Lord has done for you, and has had
21:00
compassion on you. So here Jesus is Lord, and he's
21:05
telling the man that he is of much more use to him for him to
21:10
go and to show everybody that he's in his right mind, and to
21:14
show everybody what God had done for him, and to give God all the
21:17
glory to all the people who knew him before his deliverance.

Friends 20 And he departed and began to publish into
21:30
capitalists how great things Jesus had done for him.
21:34
And all men did marvel. So he went into the 10 cities
21:38
there, and he was telling everything that Jesus the Lord
21:43
had done for him, and the people were marveled. 21 And when Jesus
21:49
was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people
21:52
gathered unto him, and he was near unto the sea.

So here you can see they kicked Jesus out of that place, and

Jesus did not permit the demoniac to go with him.

This an upside down, inside out kind of Kingdom.

Friends. 22 And he behold, there comes one of the rulers of the
22:14
synagogue, Gyrus by name. And when he saw him, he fell at
22:19
his feet. 23 And he begged him greatly, saying, My little
22:24
daughter lies at the point of death, I pray you come and lay
22:29
your hands on her, that she may be healed and she will live.
22:34
So here this gyrus who was the leader of a synagogue, who had
22:39
power, he could have been like the centurion, He could have
22:43
been like the Syrophoenician woman.
22:46
He could have believed that all Jesus had to do is speak a word.
22:50
But he was begging Jesus to come to his house, to lay hands on
22:55
his daughter so that she will be healed.
22:58
She needed, he thought that she needed him to come and he needed
23:04
to see Jesus come. So here you can see Jesus
23:10
rewarding the faith in different ways.

He did not marvel at Gyrus's faith like he did the centurion.
23:18
However, he did give him and permit his request to go with
23:25
him. 24 And Jesus went with him, and much people followed him and
23:29
thronged him. So this crowd was pressing in on
23:33
Jesus. It was hard to walk.
23:35
It was so many people all around him thronging him. 25 and a
23:41
certain woman which had an issue of blood 12 years 26 and had
23:47
suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all
23:51
that she had and was nothing better, but rather grew worse.
23:55
So here we learned that this woman had the issue of blood for
24:00
12 years, and here we see that she spent all of her money on
24:05
these physicians who had only made it worse.

There were so many, there were so many prescriptions for what
24:14
to do for someone who had this condition.

And they were all a bunch of superstition.

It was a bunch of witch doctors who just were trying, throwing
24:28
stones down a corridor, trying to hit something.

And here you can see that this woman was not the better for it.

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind and

touched his garment, she thought to herself, If I could just
24:49
touch the hem of his garment, I will be healed. 28 For she said,
24:54
if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

She had faith that Jesus could heal her. 20 9 And straightway
25:05
the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her
25:09
body that she was healed of the plague. 30 And Jesus
25:13
immediately, knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him,
25:18
turned him about in the press and said, Who touched my
25:21
clothes? This is an interesting passage
25:23
here, friends. Nowhere else does it say of any
25:28
miracle of Jesus that virtue had gone out of him, that power had
25:32
left him. He is all powerful, and he can
25:39
do a billion miracles over and not be diminished at all.

But here you can see this interesting passage where Jesus
25:47
feels this woman touch him and feels the healing power enter
25:54
into her to make her whole. And I believe that he already
25:58
knew who she was. He already knew who touched him.

But he wanted her faith to speak up.

He wanted her faith to have a voice.

Here. Let's see how it ends. 31 And

his disciples said unto him, You see the multitude thronging you,
26:13
and you say, Who touched me? So they did not put two and two
26:17
together. They were many people bumping
26:20
shoulders with Jesus in this moment, and he's turning around
26:24
asking who touched him. And the disciples who were
26:28
thinking of themselves as some kind of bodyguard for Jesus,
26:32
which he needed no bodyguards, but they were thinking of
26:36
themselves in this manner. And they're thinking, what does
26:39
he even mean? Who touched him?
26:41
Does he not see all the people here thronging about?

32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this
26:50
thing? 33 But the woman, fearing and
26:53
trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down
26:56
before him, and told him all the truth.

We need to do the same, friends. Come and lay at the feet of
27:03
Jesus and tell Him the truth. Don't hide anything.

Everything is laid bare and naked before God Almighty.

He sees everything. He sees your thoughts, He knows
27:14
your emotions, He knows your past, He knows everything that
27:18
you've done. Come and make it plain to him.

Come and confess everything, and ask for forgiveness, and be
27:26
healed, and repent of those things, and be made whole, and
27:30
walk straightway with Him. Immediate obedience with him,
27:34
Friends. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, Your faith has
27:39
made you whole, Go in peace and be whole of your plague.
27:44
He wanted her to know. He did not want her to doubt.
27:47
He wanted her to go her way, knowing and having faith that
27:53
she had been made whole, that she had been made well and she
27:58
was healed to the utmost. 35 While he yet spoke, there came
28:04
from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which
28:07
said your daughter is dead. Why trouble you, the Master, any
28:12
further? So here they're coming to Jesus
28:16
and they're coming to Jairus, and they're saying, your
28:19
daughter's already dead, don't even bother him anymore. 36 As
28:24
soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said unto
28:27
the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be afraid, only believe.
28:32
He says the same to you, friend, do not be afraid, only believe
28:37
when you're at the lowest of the low.

Do not be afraid, friend, only believe. 37 And he suffered no
28:45
man to follow him, except Peter, James, and John, the brother of
28:49
James. 38 And he came into the House of the ruler of the
28:52
synagogue, and he saw the tumult, and them that wept and
28:57
wailed greatly, These were the hired mourners.

This was a leader in the ruler of a synagogue, someone in a
29:05
prestigious position. And these hired mourners would
29:09
have come in and pretended to be mourning for this girl, but they
29:14
were just there for profit. 39 And when he had came in, he said
29:21
unto them, Why do you make this a dew?

And weep the damsels not dead, but sleeps.

Praise God. Hallelujah.

No one ever really dies to God, friends.

Every single historical figure, every single prophet of old,

every single man, woman and child that has ever been born is

still alive today, Friends, No one ever really dies.

We are going to spend eternity somewhere.

There is no cessation of spirit. There is no cessation of life.

We will go somewhere and there's only two options, friends.

There's heaven and there's hell, and nobody ever would ever

choose hell if they knew the depths of the torment there.

It's not a party, it's not a game.

Your friends aren't going to be there.

It's not going to be a wild time.

It is a death. Over a billion deaths and you

cannot die. It's where the worm never dies.

40 And they laughed him to scorn.

But when he had put them all out, he took the father, the

mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entered

in where the damsel was lying. Look how quick they switched

from morning to laughing. Look how quick these hired

mourners. There was no substance there.

They were just there for profit. And they switched up quickly.

And they laughed him to scorn. And you know Jesus wants to take

your mourning and turn it into laughter, friends, and he's the

only one that can do it. Money will never do that for

you. 41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her,

Talatakumi, which is being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto

you, Arise here, mark, by way of Peter.

Here you can see them inserting another one of these little

indicators for the Romans. Who would read this, the

audience who would not know what this Tala Takomi meant.

It is translated for them. 42 And straightway the damsel arose

and walked, for she was of the age of 12.

And they were astonished with great astonishment, and will end

on 43. And he charged them straightly

that no man should know it, and commanded that something should

be given her to eat. Look at this mirror.

Look at how Jesus can do anything.

Look at how life comes back into the body.

Look at how this girl was dead, dead, and all Jesus has to do is

speak a word over her and she comes back to life.

It's interesting that she was 12 years old and the woman with the

issue of blood had the blood issue for 12 years.

There's a lot of lessons to learn in this one chapter,

friends, and the lesson is that Jesus loves and he loves well,

and he doesn't even seek out at this moment for them to go and
32:41
publish it about. He tells them to keep it on the
32:46
low because his time had not yet come.

But he has all authority and all power, and he can do anything.

And if we will tap into the power source, lock eyes with
32:56
him, know that God is above all. And no matter what happens in

this little life of yours, trust him.

Trust him all the way through. Believe, do not doubt.

He's a good God and He loves well.
