- 0:15Speaker 1: Times like are you and get to know if we're
- 0:19Speaker 1: gonna be you know, if we're gonna be speaking intelligently
- 0:23Speaker 1: or not.
- 0:23Speaker 2: And then he's like, yeah, I'm out of here. I'll
- 0:26Speaker 2: steal all their ideas later on the recast.
- 0:29Speaker 3: That's not just Josh, that's pretty much anyone.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we could see fair enough a lot of what's
- 0:36Speaker 1: going on everybody.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I am the one, the only, the w o okay,
- 0:39Speaker 2: I you joined here by my normal cast of misfits.
- 0:42Speaker 1: We got the drazz Boar, Hey, guys, how's it going?
- 0:47Speaker 2: Doctor m Sheep Hello, and the Ewokyist of Ewoks Ewok Jr.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Hello, Keyboard Community, glad to be here.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It's nice. Gigi threw us a bone at Huh. We're like, man,
- 1:02Speaker 2: what are we going to talk about? And then they're like, hey,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I know, we'll release the new key Ford Celebrations schedule.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So I also have cats, and we also have cats
- 1:14Speaker 2: and dogs here. Who is at the end we're gonna
- 1:17Speaker 2: we figured we'd have them join in and talk about
- 1:21Speaker 2: KFC since this will be their first KFC. You want
- 1:25Speaker 2: to say hello cats.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah, thanks for having me.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Yeah, And then uh.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And uh, he's going to try to convince us that
- 1:35Speaker 2: alliance uh not alliance adaptive is good, the other the
- 1:41Speaker 2: other dirty A word the a word we don't recognize
- 1:45Speaker 2: around here. Yeah, a little chat. We'll have a chat.
- 1:52Speaker 2: You're going to see how incredibly hardheaded, too grumpy old
- 1:56Speaker 2: men can be and we'll go from there. So starting
- 2:01Speaker 2: with everything we knew KFC was right around the corner.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It will be sometime in November, and by sometimes I
- 2:09Speaker 2: mean starting on Thursday, November sixth, unless you are a
- 2:15Speaker 2: Vault Warrior, it actually starts on the fifth, because you
- 2:18Speaker 2: got to go to a dinner. Sheep, How are we
- 2:20Speaker 2: getting to this dinner? I don't need to go, but
- 2:24Speaker 2: I heard there was a party bus that was going
- 2:26Speaker 2: to Whirllyball.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Yeah that's for you. Yes, I'm going to drive a
- 2:34Speaker 5: car to Minnesota. And then once I'm in Minnesota, we'll
- 2:40Speaker 5: probably be staying at the hotel that's very nearby, so
- 2:43Speaker 5: I will just go over to dinner. No crazy plans,
- 2:51Speaker 5: and then Sydney on her show will tell the rest
- 2:55Speaker 5: of you what you can do.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Oh that's other crazy plans. Don't involve the game just
- 3:02Speaker 2: degenerating into people beating each other with sticks. Definitely doesn't
- 3:06Speaker 2: do that.
- 3:07Speaker 3: That happens later.
- 3:08Speaker 5: I do intend to make it to beating you with
- 3:11Speaker 5: a stick.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Oh boy, I look forward to it, but we have
- 3:16Speaker 2: to flight was earlier switch until ten.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Mmm.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Well, looking at this keyboard celebration the actual landing page cheap.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I hope you can hold your cup while beating this
- 3:32Speaker 3: wookie and have this look that the Sarian has.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It's a very man.
- 3:36Speaker 5: I'm only got one hand, so holding a cump and
- 3:38Speaker 5: beating at the same time is not in my skill set.
- 3:42Speaker 3: You do have a small stick, so probably won't.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Oh man, this is where we're headed with this automatically
- 3:48Speaker 2: hont That's fine, that's pretty much par for the course
- 3:51Speaker 2: for this show. But I'm glad to sell like you're yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 2: the small stick. I'm glad to see that they were
- 3:57Speaker 2: just like, you know what, We're not going to stop
- 3:59Speaker 2: them from drinking, so we'll just lean into it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: And now the sorry it is holding a cup.
- 4:05Speaker 5: Ready to go?
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it is a blinged out cup. I might have
- 4:09Speaker 2: to bring out my my og cup from two thousand
- 4:11Speaker 2: and five, my crunk juice goblet.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I think this I think we did see a goblet
- 4:19Speaker 3: previously EDKC and I think this is really paying homage
- 4:23Speaker 3: to that image.
- 4:25Speaker 1: We saw goblet it. Wait, hold on what?
- 4:28Speaker 3: Oh yeah, there was a special princess cup. You don't
- 4:33Speaker 3: remember these things?
- 4:34Speaker 1: How do people net?
- 4:35Speaker 5: I don't know what he's talking about either.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Okay, I've never saw this princess cup.
- 4:39Speaker 3: No, got it?
- 4:41Speaker 1: Got it. But we start off on well, we start off.
- 4:44Speaker 2: On Wednesday, which if you are a Vault Warrior, you're
- 4:46Speaker 2: probably gonna want to get your free dinner. Weird that
- 4:50Speaker 2: they would put it on Wednesday, a whole day before
- 4:55Speaker 2: anything even starts.
- 4:58Speaker 5: Well, they want.
- 5:00Speaker 1: As minimal participation as possible.
- 5:03Speaker 3: I would love I would love for minimal and the
- 5:07Speaker 3: GG staff to go ahead and come in and talk
- 5:10Speaker 3: to us about it.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I offer. I know, but I'm going to offer a spot.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And he has nothing to do with this. He's o P.
- 5:18Speaker 1: He probably doesn't even know there's a dinner on Thursday.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I said, I said, c TP, or did anyone from
- 5:25Speaker 3: GG staffs.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I'm opening it up. I know who's wearing the DP.
- 5:29Speaker 5: If you listen to this trash show, you're welcome to
- 5:32Speaker 5: come on. We will be potholes to you too.
- 5:38Speaker 1: That's our favorite thing to do, being buttholes really really
- 5:42Speaker 1: Lauren a mid Yeah, we just want it to be honest,
- 5:46Speaker 1: like we don't want to bait and switch somebody thinking
- 5:49Speaker 1: like we're a help from future self and then all
- 5:51Speaker 1: of a sudden, that's this this ship.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I mean, we just want to know why. Well, there
- 5:57Speaker 3: would just be one question.
- 6:00Speaker 5: What because they already run the events until ten o'clock
- 6:04Speaker 5: every other night of the week, So when else are
- 6:05Speaker 5: they going to do it?
- 6:06Speaker 2: Because they want to have one night where they all
- 6:08Speaker 2: don't have to eat crummy buffalo wild wings. I bet
- 6:12Speaker 2: you that has a lot to do with it, because
- 6:13Speaker 2: that's all that's open.
- 6:14Speaker 1: You know. Then they should have they should have either
- 6:19Speaker 1: gone to that brewery or that roast beef place. That
- 6:25Speaker 1: was awesome. That's what they should should have done. I didn't.
- 6:28Speaker 5: I just thought that was fine.
- 6:31Speaker 1: That was beef, that was pretty good. It was it
- 6:34Speaker 1: was fine, said Philly.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Just add that in right, like they don't know.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, like raccoon food, trash food. Oh no, no,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'm seen people eat it. It's it's something that's like
- 6:57Speaker 1: it's a wired taste.
- 7:00Speaker 3: And I thought that, uh, they should poney up for
- 7:02Speaker 3: a nice party bus and then take the people to
- 7:05Speaker 3: the brewery, have it catered, or a nice restaurant, have
- 7:08Speaker 3: it catered, because it's already ready to go for you.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Sit down, you eat good beverage, soda, water, whatever you want,
- 7:15Speaker 3: and then come on back on the party bus.
- 7:18Speaker 1: We got this three fingers of jack with a splash
- 7:21Speaker 1: of water whatever. Or there's this place which actually we
- 7:27Speaker 1: definitely have to check out. It's called the Nashville Coop.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's a fried chicken spot. Not too far nice. Okay,
- 7:34Speaker 1: what night are we doing that? Thursday? Ac KFC, the
- 7:38Speaker 1: next Yeah, maybe, Yeah, I don't know what days things
- 7:40Speaker 1: are going down, so we'll play it by ear. But yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 1: let's say, what's I'm going to go to a chicken spot? Yeah,
- 7:46Speaker 1: they're until nine pm. Yeah, a bunch of us have
- 7:50Speaker 1: scrubbed out by then, so we can go.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's insane. All Yeah, that far away.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Speaking of.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Thoughts and prayers with all those who are are hurt.
- 8:03Speaker 3: It's been sad. You guys have not heard.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, the mass shoot, the school shooting in Minnesota. It
- 8:09Speaker 1: was it was in Minnesota. Well, yeah, it is a church,
- 8:13Speaker 1: the school church.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's how Just so you're where five in
- 8:18Speaker 3: the US since school started this year, oh Man, school
- 8:22Speaker 3: just started last week. No, it started earlier depending on
- 8:26Speaker 3: where you are. We will start next Tuesday. But a
- 8:28Speaker 3: lot of schools have been in session. But yeah, there
- 8:30Speaker 3: have been five, which is wow, do better, do better, peeps,
- 8:34Speaker 3: but chicken.
- 8:37Speaker 1: So if you're thinking you could do a school shooting, don't,
- 8:40Speaker 1: please don't please don't. All right, this is what people
- 8:44Speaker 1: listen to us far you know something hot chicken school shootings?
- 8:49Speaker 1: You got it?
- 8:50Speaker 3: Does Does this count as KFC finger licking?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Good?
- 8:54Speaker 2: Well, it's this place looks real good. This series this year,
- 8:59Speaker 2: you have to your favorite ARCon.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Yeah, looking good. Yep. The human I.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Don't recommend this.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, look how happy her. I'm gonna
- 9:13Speaker 2: put her image marsas.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I could do mimosas. That's like a morning you could
- 9:21Speaker 1: start right away at nine am. Mimosas.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Drazz your picture that you posted in our live show, amazing.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Now the falling knife, that's the falling Knife brewery. There's
- 9:34Speaker 1: a falling knife. Okay, so falling knife. When he was like,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I wonder what I should call it, and he like
- 9:41Speaker 1: looks across the bar like the taps are literally knives.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Put it down. So now we gotta go to the
- 9:48Speaker 1: Falling How many minutes is this from the game center.
- 9:50Speaker 1: We gotta go to the Falling Knife Brewery and the
- 9:52Speaker 1: Chicken coop, So it is a seven minute drive from
- 9:57Speaker 1: the game center. Don't tell me he wasn't there when
- 9:59Speaker 1: he thought this up. All right, So I'm glad we're
- 10:05Speaker 1: getting food already figured out. That's half the Hey, that
- 10:09Speaker 1: is always the most power to struggle. Yeah, that is
- 10:11Speaker 1: the big struggle every night. I don't care. Where do
- 10:14Speaker 1: you want to go? I don't care where do you
- 10:15Speaker 1: want to go?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Okay, in all seriousness, we got to write this down
- 10:19Speaker 3: so we remember.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Drafts cords already, got Google docs open. I'm sure I
- 10:23Speaker 1: got it, I got it? Yeah, yeah, what do I
- 10:26Speaker 1: have a Google I'm had the map, I could great
- 10:28Speaker 1: Google doc yeah yeah. But starting out for Thursday, let's
- 10:33Speaker 1: get too some key forage activities, gentlemen, what do you say?
- 10:37Speaker 1: All right? Do it? World Registration from ten am to
- 10:41Speaker 1: five pm. World Championship are we Yeah we don't. It's
- 10:47Speaker 1: happening on six through ninth.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Sign up sign up this yeah, but yeah, there's an
- 10:57Speaker 3: open in a World Championship. Agin, We're good.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, hold on the weekend. Two things have changed this year.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys noticed. So last year,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I can't remember when was the keynote. It was at
- 11:10Speaker 1: the end of Sunday, right, I know the Meet the
- 11:15Speaker 1: Ghosties was on Sunday.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah, are you talking keynote as where he presented information about.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you know where CTP gets up on the stage
- 11:25Speaker 2: and goes, we know we haven't given you op this year,
- 11:28Speaker 2: but we'll do better next year.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And that happened. That was Friday.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I know, Meet the Ghosties was on Sunday last year,
- 11:38Speaker 2: and either they didn't have a lot of questions or
- 11:40Speaker 2: they just really really missed us because they put it
- 11:43Speaker 2: back on Thursday this year.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I think they just want to be done.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Or CTP has got a boat to catch.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Yeah, he's going to show up for like that one
- 11:57Speaker 5: hour on Thursday and.
- 11:58Speaker 1: It will never be seen again. Yeah, yep, that's what
- 12:01Speaker 1: I was thinking.
- 12:02Speaker 5: That's what he's got minions for.
- 12:05Speaker 1: M yep, yep.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but Thursday, Yes, they do the keynote. Really
- 12:12Speaker 3: that makes this matches with what we've seen in the past.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Well yeah, but like last again, last year it was
- 12:19Speaker 2: a little I thought it was on Sunday, because I
- 12:22Speaker 2: thought we sift all that, oh.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Met the posts for this. Theer is on the six
- 12:28Speaker 3: as well.
- 12:28Speaker 1: So let's talk about the Last Chance qualifiers because this
- 12:31Speaker 1: is where the real meat and potatoes we start getting
- 12:33Speaker 1: into it. Nothing has really changed except there's this big
- 12:38Speaker 1: thing in the middle here, to which Sheep was so
- 12:41Speaker 1: nicely to point it out for me to get me
- 12:43Speaker 1: really riled up to there. Players are purchase ticket that
- 12:48Speaker 1: includes the Last Chance Qualifier option. No additional entry fees
- 12:53Speaker 1: will be assessed, no event key required. Players will be
- 12:56Speaker 1: provided three sealed key four charge Crucible Clash decks. In
- 13:03Speaker 1: order to participate. We got to sleep and they'll give
- 13:07Speaker 1: you sleeves. So yes, your Last Chance Qualifier will be
- 13:10Speaker 1: played in Crucible Clash Crucible Net. All right, So so
- 13:17Speaker 1: cats and Dogs before we all get into that, what
- 13:20Speaker 1: do you think about this?
- 13:23Speaker 4: I like playing that set, but I'm I don't know
- 13:27Speaker 4: how it's going to go down for competition. I'm going
- 13:30Speaker 4: to open Thievery and then I will win. That's basically
- 13:32Speaker 4: my plan.
- 13:32Speaker 2: That sounds like that sounds like a fandom me because
- 13:36Speaker 2: at first I was like, yeah, they top day, it
- 13:37Speaker 2: will just be Thievery yeah, well for me, and one that.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Lets you fetch up stuff, you know, like grab grab
- 13:45Speaker 4: your three cards out of your deck that'll kill two.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, none of those are kind of powers. Were definitely
- 13:51Speaker 2: none of them are overpowered at.
- 13:53Speaker 5: All, balance optimized.
- 13:57Speaker 2: They are balanced optimized. However, I thought you weren't even
- 14:01Speaker 2: going to be able to play with the ARCon powers
- 14:03Speaker 2: until Sheep was so nice to point out to me
- 14:06Speaker 2: that's only an ARCon and Alliance Sealed is another story.
- 14:11Speaker 2: You get to pay, you get one of three garbage
- 14:14Speaker 2: ARCon powers because that's what you'll be drawing.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Alliance rules. You have to use a pod from the
- 14:23Speaker 1: deck that you're the r power for. Weird you should
- 14:26Speaker 1: ask that, because I have it right here. If a
- 14:30Speaker 1: seal deck is constructed from a set using ARCon power cards,
- 14:33Speaker 1: it must include exactly one ARCon power reference card from
- 14:38Speaker 1: an ARCon deck that contributed at least one house pod
- 14:41Speaker 1: to the sealed deck. Decks constructed from other sets cannot
- 14:45Speaker 1: include an ARCon power card. M M, yeah, I mean
- 14:55Speaker 1: I wish they just wouldn't have the ARCon power Then
- 14:59Speaker 1: the bush cards you play them. It's fun. Yeah, that's
- 15:03Speaker 1: kind of what I thought it would be, but I
- 15:05Speaker 1: told I was wrong. I mean, look, we did play
- 15:08Speaker 1: We played our Crucible Clash this past weekend. On Sunday,
- 15:13Speaker 1: we played our three deck event, so it was monthly event. Well,
- 15:17Speaker 1: so what we did was we took a vote as
- 15:19Speaker 1: to how we wanted to do it. It was voted
- 15:22Speaker 1: almost unanimously that we would play True Sealed, except that
- 15:28Speaker 1: you could select any of the three ARCon powers from
- 15:32Speaker 1: any of the decks to put with your deck. So
- 15:35Speaker 1: that that was what we did.
- 15:39Speaker 2: You know, like, did you guys do like no bust
- 15:42Speaker 2: like when you were playing Double O seven with your kids?
- 15:47Speaker 3: Oh?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Wait, no, no, no one guy did have thie three? Sorry
- 15:49Speaker 1: he did? Did he win? Good?
- 15:53Speaker 2: I was just saying, like back in the day, I
- 15:54Speaker 2: remember everybody player remember playing Double O seven And you'd
- 15:57Speaker 2: be like, no, odd Job right because odd Job was
- 15:59Speaker 2: a character with the smallest hip boxes.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Yep, exactly right. So you'd be like, oh, no, busted powers.
- 16:07Speaker 5: I don't know what you're talking about. I understand the worst.
- 16:10Speaker 1: It's it's.
- 16:12Speaker 5: I now, I was a PlayStation kid.
- 16:16Speaker 3: I'm sorry for you.
- 16:17Speaker 5: He uh, I don't have over gouber.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry for saying what I said because I have
- 16:25Speaker 1: brought this episode to a screeching halt of my bad continue. Yeah, so,
- 16:30Speaker 1: like the one guy did have ochree, he had the
- 16:36Speaker 1: odd job, and uh it was I think he was
- 16:40Speaker 1: trying a little too hard to like actually play the
- 16:43Speaker 1: cards that were in his deck instead of just like
- 16:46Speaker 1: and just everything out of them to steal thirty six. Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 1: and then just steal thirty six is what That steal
- 16:53Speaker 1: up to thirty six member per game is what that
- 16:55Speaker 1: cards that should be enough to win? Yeah, so good.
- 17:01Speaker 4: It was the first one I opened, Was it really?
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 17:05Speaker 4: And I was like, I was that experience? Well well yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 4: because I hadn't I didn't know any of the other powers.
- 17:14Speaker 4: So I read it and I had to reread it
- 17:16Speaker 4: a couple of times and ago, you can do this
- 17:17Speaker 4: more than once per turn? Oh yeah, I mean this
- 17:19Speaker 4: is this.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Is nuts and it would makes sense if it was
- 17:23Speaker 1: only once per turn.
- 17:25Speaker 5: But no, Maybey are rat of that card before world?
- 17:30Speaker 1: Maybe? I mean it's probably not.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Maybe they did it to stupid echo charge.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Yeah that's only because we liked it. So I really
- 17:41Speaker 2: like fevery.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Nice card. Definitely not busted, totally balanced.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Talked some trash about that card I'm with Thrascore here, though,
- 17:55Speaker 3: crystpal Clash as a whole is perfectly fine minus dark
- 17:59Speaker 3: on powers. Alternatively, if you're playing our compowers, if it's
- 18:03Speaker 3: there for me, I think that it should be there
- 18:05Speaker 3: for both players, and you play that at least it's
- 18:07Speaker 3: a more even playing field. Dexto will lean in and
- 18:10Speaker 3: have an advantage.
- 18:12Speaker 1: But those are the only two ways that I see
- 18:14Speaker 1: it as being as being a good I mean, I
- 18:17Speaker 1: you imagine that game though, it's just like who draws?
- 18:21Speaker 1: Like you're just stealing back, and like what even happens
- 18:24Speaker 1: in that game? So did you pick? I guess it's
- 18:28Speaker 1: so much.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Stronger than a token because it's a card in play.
- 18:30Speaker 4: From turning on right ready to.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Thievery, they somebody has to make Amber correct, and so
- 18:38Speaker 3: you do have to be able to lean. You can
- 18:41Speaker 3: also play like if your house actually has steal, you
- 18:44Speaker 3: can purge the other cards to create a very thin
- 18:46Speaker 3: like shredder deck that you want to just cycle in
- 18:50Speaker 3: your hand. Can just be the key cards that you want.
- 18:54Speaker 3: There's a real advantage to being able to do that.
- 18:55Speaker 3: That's some actual strategy, but here, just by being able
- 18:58Speaker 3: to open thievery versus this. Hey, I have two nights,
- 19:04Speaker 3: so I'm going to get to gain an extra amber
- 19:07Speaker 3: when I play at night.
- 19:09Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 19:09Speaker 2: These are really fair imbalanced and in no way is
- 19:14Speaker 2: there a power disparity between them.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I also this is a This is a bummer because
- 19:22Speaker 3: I know they create a crucible clash and it really
- 19:24Speaker 3: hasn't gotten the play experience that I think they were
- 19:27Speaker 3: looking for. However, PV has a number of people who
- 19:31Speaker 3: are really liking it or people who are really not
- 19:33Speaker 3: liking it.
- 19:34Speaker 1: But I definitely I don't know.
- 19:37Speaker 3: I think that it's it's drawn people in in the
- 19:39Speaker 3: competitive scene, at least for playing ARCon So I would
- 19:42Speaker 3: have liked to have seen that, at least in the
- 19:45Speaker 3: sealed format.
- 19:46Speaker 1: But I'm not the one decided there are some fun
- 19:48Speaker 1: cards in the set. We should I do agree with
- 19:53Speaker 1: the cards.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a fun that the cards are great.
- 19:59Speaker 1: There's a lot.
- 20:00Speaker 2: There's nothing that I can really remember that was like
- 20:05Speaker 2: on that card's busted right where there's no Trenk's creed.
- 20:09Speaker 2: There's no there's nothing crazy, crazy crazy that I can remember.
- 20:14Speaker 4: If I didn't even make it. That was the spoiler
- 20:17Speaker 4: that didn't make it in so that was too much
- 20:20Speaker 4: right down.
- 20:21Speaker 1: But then they're like, oh is that what can we
- 20:26Speaker 1: do this? And I was like, I do, I do,
- 20:28Speaker 1: like I do.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Like Marty's comment, imagine if they are at of thievery
- 20:32Speaker 3: and leave Trinks alone.
- 20:38Speaker 1: The truth the world finally good enough.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I'm just kind of wondering how that that whole thing,
- 20:48Speaker 2: that that that meeting went when they finally figured out
- 20:51Speaker 2: that Trunk's creed does what it does, and they're like,
- 20:55Speaker 2: maybe if we won't say anything, no one will notice, right,
- 20:59Speaker 2: remember like for a Life where it.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, great, guys, it is fine for around the
- 21:08Speaker 3: kitchen table, we're good.
- 21:11Speaker 2: But you know remember when Life for a Life just
- 21:14Speaker 2: said sacrifice the creature and you could sack your opponent screecher,
- 21:20Speaker 2: because you know, that's what it didn't say. That didn't
- 21:22Speaker 2: say friendly creature. And then they were like, oh yeah,
- 21:27Speaker 2: that was supposed to say friendly and then they changed it.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Hmm. I know.
- 21:32Speaker 3: I've voiced more.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Than one, maybe more than one Shrink's creed.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yes, there are there's a back out there now. Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 1: now that you said that, Shrink's creed just went up
- 21:47Speaker 1: in power level again. It is now like a seventy six.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Mmmm, every every every top eight deck that had Sanctum
- 21:58Speaker 2: and it also had shrinks creed weird. Do you think
- 22:02Speaker 2: that's because because they felt bad for Sanctum, They're like,
- 22:04Speaker 2: oh man, we got to give them something.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I think it was just a mistake. I think it
- 22:12Speaker 1: was too but well, one one will never know. One
- 22:18Speaker 1: will never know. But you'll be playing Crucible Clash at KFC.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Will we see one flicks?
- 22:31Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Unlikely.
- 22:36Speaker 3: I mean we have heard so much about Crucible Clash
- 22:39Speaker 3: that I would expect, Oh man, it's going to be
- 22:40Speaker 3: a dominant set and it's going to win everything and
- 22:44Speaker 3: so good.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Remember Pepper Farmer members. I mean, there's been very like right,
- 22:53Speaker 1: like you. The release date for retail hasn't hit yet,
- 22:58Speaker 1: so doors haven't been able to refill if they've run out.
- 23:03Speaker 1: So a bunch of people got their three decks through
- 23:05Speaker 1: the game found and then haven't gotten any more. Yep.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I suspect some people will want to get more. Well now, yes,
- 23:14Speaker 1: they're like, how can we increase Crucible Clash sales? I know,
- 23:18Speaker 1: let's make it what you'll be playing in the sealed qualifiers? Honestly,
- 23:23Speaker 1: what yeah?
- 23:23Speaker 3: Maybe, yeah, I don't have a problem with Crucible Clash
- 23:27Speaker 3: the actual decks themselves. I enjoy playing that. It just
- 23:31Speaker 3: comes down to the ARCon powers are not balanced, and
- 23:35Speaker 3: so if you're not equally accessible to them, and so again,
- 23:39Speaker 3: three decks, we always play single so three decks I
- 23:42Speaker 3: at least have a better chance to pull something. But
- 23:46Speaker 3: I do think the ark On powers are widely variable.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Marty is in there saying that, And I didn't even
- 23:55Speaker 2: look at this because I just immediately teed off on
- 23:58Speaker 2: this thing that I'll be playing Crucible Clash the sealed
- 24:03Speaker 2: open it is prophetic visions. Yeah, why why.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Would you do World one and not the both PV.
- 24:15Speaker 5: Because it's more fun to play multiple things.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean.
- 24:23Speaker 3: So remember that, remember that they want to run too, Yeah,
- 24:26Speaker 3: they want to run. They want to run two different
- 24:28Speaker 3: sets too. We've seen that in the past. So we're
- 24:30Speaker 3: looking at one kind of older set and one new.
- 24:32Speaker 3: They just simply put it a C C and then PV. Mmmm,
- 24:37Speaker 3: that's not that's not a normal because picture of both
- 24:41Speaker 3: of them were CC, or both of them were PV.
- 24:43Speaker 3: They're they're just spreading it out. I'm fine with that.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And then we're going to get it. Yeah, the theory
- 24:54Speaker 1: is good.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I don't know what this measures for measures is. I
- 24:57Speaker 2: can only imagine as stochronian measures. Players are required to
- 25:03Speaker 2: bring us special measures for measures, tournament voucher for participation.
- 25:07Speaker 5: That's that's gonna be late at night for measures.
- 25:12Speaker 2: It's your first look at Draconian measures. They're gonna have
- 25:16Speaker 2: that ready by KFC.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they always, they always do that. That's your first time.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I mean, they got the printer right there, right, they
- 25:24Speaker 1: can they can print it that week, just whip up
- 25:26Speaker 1: a few.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to remember last year where like, because
- 25:32Speaker 2: I thought Draconian Measures, I thought the game found was
- 25:37Speaker 2: late this year as compared to where as was last year.
- 25:42Speaker 3: It is a little bit.
- 25:44Speaker 1: It feels a lot late, remember for two three months later.
- 25:49Speaker 1: But you know what they can do, right. CTP can
- 25:51Speaker 1: be like, uh, hey, Josh, you know you uh you
- 25:55Speaker 1: said you were going to run this event. Well the
- 25:57Speaker 1: printer's open starting eleven pm night, so you better get
- 26:02Speaker 1: in there. You gonna run the printer through the night,
- 26:06Speaker 1: run the printer hand packed decks.
- 26:09Speaker 3: I actually like the events, the early access for people
- 26:14Speaker 3: coming to worlds, a chance to play your an upcoming set.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I think that is a good one. I think it's wait, yeah,
- 26:20Speaker 3: I think that works out really well. Give access, let
- 26:23Speaker 3: them try it out. And we've seen some erratus. Some
- 26:26Speaker 3: cards have been changed as a results of those events.
- 26:28Speaker 1: One card has been changed, that's it, just the one
- 26:35Speaker 1: just which one charge?
- 26:40Speaker 3: Yes, I don't know if it was because but again,
- 26:44Speaker 3: when you can get some play, you just have a
- 26:47Speaker 3: lot more people playing and being able to run through
- 26:50Speaker 3: those stacks and to see the interactions.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Because I don't remember anything from Ember Sky is getting
- 26:57Speaker 2: change due to us playing saying it early or no?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Do we play as early?
- 27:05Speaker 3: No?
- 27:06Speaker 1: No, I don't think we did.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Grimm reminders. I remember we got to play early. Yeah, yeah, No,
- 27:14Speaker 2: I don't think we did.
- 27:16Speaker 1: It was just sure I seem to remember. I don't know,
- 27:22Speaker 1: I remember are Yeah it was late night that and
- 27:30Speaker 1: then yeah talk was the one last year. Yep, late
- 27:34Speaker 1: night talk. Oh that's right, Yeah, it wasn't it. It
- 27:38Speaker 1: started so late. There was a lot of disagreement as
- 27:42Speaker 1: to should we start, should we play or not? Should
- 27:44Speaker 1: we start now later things are still going on.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I will simply say where people are you start on time?
- 27:52Speaker 3: I'm sorry that other people are still playing. Hey, you're
- 27:55Speaker 3: doing really well. Great, keep playing, but we're going to
- 27:58Speaker 3: start the event when don't go ahead and go through it.
- 28:00Speaker 3: I like that it was three decks pick one. I'm
- 28:02Speaker 3: perfectly fine with that. It just is a very rushed
- 28:06Speaker 3: atmosphere last year, and that we can do better with. Yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 3: and the and the prizes need to actually be something. No, no, nope, nope.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Nobody comes for prizes, not a soul right, see.
- 28:22Speaker 1: No, nobody comes for prizes.
- 28:23Speaker 3: But the short answer is if you win, if you
- 28:26Speaker 3: go ahead and go three to zero, there should be
- 28:28Speaker 3: something that's worthwhile.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Not here you get another deck.
- 28:32Speaker 5: I mean, I'm I will better do better the prizes.
- 28:38Speaker 5: I don't think the prizes are that critical, but yeah
- 28:42Speaker 5: they are pretty poor. Yeah, yeah, poor, that's an acceptable answer.
- 28:49Speaker 1: They can do foil now, like foil they could and
- 28:54Speaker 1: here's yeah, yeah, we'll keep all oil. I do think
- 29:02Speaker 1: I buy them and I give them the sheep because
- 29:04Speaker 1: they're still dog shit when I open them. They just
- 29:07Speaker 1: have a foil. They look pretty, they do. I think
- 29:10Speaker 1: foil solo. You couldn't even tell it was foil.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Oh really, my soils have been awesome.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of them are so little for whatever reason,
- 29:21Speaker 1: the solo like whatever, whatever the areas they chose, the
- 29:25Speaker 1: areas they chose to foil made sense to foil. It
- 29:28Speaker 1: just didn't. It didn't come through.
- 29:30Speaker 5: It doesn't stand out a lot. That is true.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Can I go ahead and give the recommendation? We know
- 29:36Speaker 3: that it costs more for foiled decks, yep, but what
- 29:40Speaker 3: about an all foiled deck for your new draconian measures?
- 29:42Speaker 3: So a set that's not overall here no, no.
- 29:47Speaker 1: That it would cost about fifty dollars to make soil deck.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I am in so we have buy.
- 29:55Speaker 3: No no, no, But but depending on how many players
- 29:57Speaker 3: come out for the sealed events. If you announce ahead
- 30:00Speaker 3: of time, you should draw more in because they're excited
- 30:02Speaker 3: and will stay. But how many people will go three?
- 30:05Speaker 1: And oh?
- 30:06Speaker 3: If you have four five, maybe think about what that
- 30:11Speaker 3: price point is.
- 30:12Speaker 1: And here's the thing.
- 30:13Speaker 3: You can produce five or six ahead of time, and
- 30:15Speaker 3: any of them that don't act like your numbers maybe
- 30:18Speaker 3: are low they didn't show up. Then put those in
- 30:20Speaker 3: as a final raffle. Those would be sought after items. Again,
- 30:24Speaker 3: if we announce it, they'd be something with a new
- 30:27Speaker 3: set all foil super limited. Who makes it a little
- 30:31Speaker 3: bit better than just here's another deck.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Well all right, so all right, if you think about
- 30:37Speaker 1: every single card in a set, was that three hundred some? Yeah,
- 30:42Speaker 1: and you think about you have to have either you
- 30:46Speaker 1: do it slobby or you have an artist design where
- 30:53Speaker 1: the foil goes Yep, how much do you think it
- 30:57Speaker 1: they would have to pay an artist. Well, but it's
- 31:01Speaker 1: going to be a large here's the other idea. That
- 31:04Speaker 1: first deck doesn't cost fifty dollars. That first deck costs
- 31:08Speaker 1: five thousand dollars.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Here's the deal thereafter. I really like the foiler. They
- 31:14Speaker 2: did a fantastic job. I don't understand why everything needs
- 31:18Speaker 2: to be like head and heels crazy, like we need
- 31:22Speaker 2: these crazy foils, right, I mean, why not just take
- 31:27Speaker 2: the back. You remember how Magic used to do it.
- 31:30Speaker 2: It was just the border. The border would be foil
- 31:33Speaker 2: and then everything else would be just ha, we got
- 31:34Speaker 2: cool border stuff, right, So just just foil out the border, right,
- 31:39Speaker 2: just just if it's a Mars card, that Mars border
- 31:42Speaker 2: gets foiled, So now you only have to do it
- 31:45Speaker 2: eleven times as opposed to I understand it's a quality like,
- 31:50Speaker 2: well these look cooler. Well you want to know what like.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Time in the Yeah. No, I was going to make
- 31:58Speaker 1: an analogy there, but I don't know if many people
- 32:00Speaker 1: would understand it, so I'm.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Not is it Is it a falling knife analogy?
- 32:04Speaker 1: It is not a falling knife analogy, butalogy. Oh okay,
- 32:10Speaker 1: let's let's talk Sega. Yeah, I'm like two duh. It's
- 32:16Speaker 1: not like to.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Did you guys ever get a chance to play No Mad?
- 32:20Speaker 1: No? Okay?
- 32:23Speaker 3: So No Mad was actually the handheld version that could
- 32:26Speaker 3: play Sega Genesis games.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Okay.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Oh the batteries last like fourteen hours. So far, so
- 32:35Speaker 3: far ahead of its time. Man, it just that's my childhood, right.
- 32:40Speaker 4: There was a backlit screen. Yeah, put all the other
- 32:42Speaker 4: ones the shame.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Yeah, x men Rosarro was at ooh. Well, I played
- 32:50Speaker 1: a lot of Aladdin Laddin. Now I didn't have the
- 32:52Speaker 1: Psyga Genesis. I had the Super Nintendo. But my next
- 32:56Speaker 1: door neighbor he had the Sega, so we would jump
- 32:59Speaker 1: back and forth.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Oh so you had the best both worlds.
- 33:03Speaker 1: That's right, that's right, I had a Sega. It's pretty sweet.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Now you were Sacha guy. I played a lot of Aladdin.
- 33:13Speaker 1: That game was on that carpet. I forgot I played
- 33:21Speaker 1: a lot of Maden Sonic and Madden Sonic. Yeah, played
- 33:25Speaker 1: a lot of Sonic too. All right, well, oh yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 1: I play a birth Worm gym. I forgot about Earthworm gym.
- 33:34Speaker 1: That was a good Did you guys ever play Pirates Gold? No?
- 33:39Speaker 3: No, Pirates Gold and NHL? I did enjoy some NHL.
- 33:44Speaker 3: But for Pirates Gold, you're basically a little pirate ship
- 33:47Speaker 3: and you go around and then like swashbuckle people and
- 33:50Speaker 3: steal from them. Man, it was so.
- 33:55Speaker 1: It was robbery with a deadly weapon. What a cool concept. Anyways,
- 34:01Speaker 1: it's definitely not a definitely not a felony. But anyways,
- 34:05Speaker 1: I think that anything we got some over about KFC,
- 34:08Speaker 1: it's happening. Go listen to help from future self. They'll
- 34:11Speaker 1: tell you what we're where and when we're drinking. Uh,
- 34:16Speaker 1: I mean we're I mean they're doing the first night.
- 34:18Speaker 1: I'm sure we'll we'll we'll lead some mascapades. Don't worry,
- 34:21Speaker 1: we'll have Yeah, we'll have a jazz core experience. Buy
- 34:26Speaker 1: your tickets now on our Patreon for three Maybe maybe
- 34:30Speaker 1: that'll go to our the Drawbetter dot cards. Also, if
- 34:34Speaker 1: you want to just say Patreon, yeah, does it not crash.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Do you try to upload on TV next?
- 34:41Speaker 3: Well?
- 34:41Speaker 1: No, So so you know, I'm like, I'm like, I'm
- 34:46Speaker 1: gonna commit to the vibe coding. I'm not gonna write
- 34:49Speaker 1: any code myself or so I'm like doing some stuff.
- 34:53Speaker 1: This was yesterday and I was like, oh, yeah, let
- 34:58Speaker 1: me do this thing. This will be cool. I like
- 35:00Speaker 1: run it. I sell these like console logs just like flying.
- 35:04Speaker 1: I'm like what, like what is it even doing? Like
- 35:07Speaker 1: why is it just like churning and churning and churning.
- 35:11Speaker 1: And I started to see all these errors from d
- 35:14Speaker 1: ok that I'm firing too many requests, so like, holy crap,
- 35:17Speaker 1: I'm detossing d okay, so I had to kill the
- 35:20Speaker 1: process for sport. I fired like hundreds of requests, so
- 35:26Speaker 1: you almost shut down the okay whoops. Yeah, I like
- 35:30Speaker 1: message Nova. I was like, uh, whoops. So in an
- 35:35Speaker 1: attempt to make something better and almost shut down what
- 35:38Speaker 1: we have, thanks dress Car. Yeah. So so she she's
- 35:42Speaker 1: I mean, she's pretty smart, like she she puts up protections.
- 35:44Speaker 1: When I started to see was all these four to
- 35:46Speaker 1: twenty nine errors, and I was like, wait a second,
- 35:49Speaker 1: I think yeah, so I made it and it actually
- 35:53Speaker 1: tells you how many requests. Yeah, you you've been making.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I was like, I was like three hundred. Oh gosh,
- 35:59Speaker 1: let me so woops.
- 36:03Speaker 4: So what you're saying is SaaS won the first war
- 36:06Speaker 4: between SaaS and Drascore.
- 36:10Speaker 3: For now.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but once we get to PV, don't even worry
- 36:13Speaker 1: SaaS candle a candle. Yeah. All the other sets you're
- 36:18Speaker 1: on your own. But PV we got you. That's right,
- 36:22Speaker 1: that's right. What I got you? I mean, yeah, I
- 36:27Speaker 1: got an eventually I got this thing is not I
- 36:30Speaker 1: can't turn this on right now like somebody else could
- 36:33Speaker 1: do what I did. Just whoops.
- 36:36Speaker 2: And then and then all of a sudden, we no
- 36:38Speaker 2: longer have d okay either. All right, cool, I'm excited.
- 36:43Speaker 3: But yeah, I KFC is a great time. If you
- 36:47Speaker 3: have not picked up tickets, definitely pick up tickets. Come
- 36:50Speaker 3: out again. Community is great. One hundred dollars for the
- 36:52Speaker 3: weekend all.
- 36:56Speaker 5: No.
- 36:56Speaker 3: A hundred is the weekend pass and then all days,
- 36:59Speaker 3: so it's your Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 37:01Speaker 5: It's like old days. Just sounds weird up.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe it was. It was, wasn't it. Now
- 37:09Speaker 1: it's one forty five weren't we telling them this should
- 37:12Speaker 1: increase the price, wasn't that?
- 37:13Speaker 3: I mean, if you're looking, if you're looking at six,
- 37:18Speaker 3: but picture you're getting six decks out of it, like
- 37:21Speaker 3: it's a good deal.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Are you getting six stacks out of it? Aren't you
- 37:26Speaker 1: just getting your three?
- 37:28Speaker 3: Mm?
- 37:29Speaker 1: Hmmm, y yes, I'll.
- 37:32Speaker 4: See plus VM twenty five.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yeah, well you're probably getting like one VM twenty five.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Now I gotta go.
- 37:40Speaker 4: I can't remember.
- 37:42Speaker 1: It might be four. It's probably four decks, yeah, because
- 37:48Speaker 1: they did for the double event last year. I think
- 37:50Speaker 1: they if you you had enough vouchers to participate in
- 37:55Speaker 1: one of the events, right.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it says make sure to get the bag. All
- 37:58Speaker 3: attendings expect to receive a traditional Ghost Galaxy goodie bag
- 38:01Speaker 3: with one arc on deck, an event pinning, an event
- 38:03Speaker 3: badge in an event program. An additional three to six
- 38:07Speaker 3: decks are included for seal depends depending on the ticket
- 38:10Speaker 3: type purchased. These complimentary decks are given out. Yeah, so
- 38:14Speaker 3: it was six. I had read that, right, Okay, we.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Again six decks?
- 38:19Speaker 3: Is six decks is worth it?
- 38:22Speaker 1: That's not a bad deal.
- 38:24Speaker 3: I didn't find it funny for a time to register,
- 38:26Speaker 3: they said, they said two to three minutes allow fifteen
- 38:30Speaker 3: minute wait time.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it made me laugh. Once you get to the
- 38:36Speaker 1: front of the line that want to pick a log dark,
- 38:38Speaker 1: this is a josh fifteen minutes, which is like an hour.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I think it's like sixty. It's like I think it
- 38:49Speaker 1: may be.
- 38:50Speaker 3: We can move fast.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it'll be fine, it'll be like sixty.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Anyways, all right, tour to that event where we're gonna
- 38:58Speaker 2: let cancer Dog tell us why adaptive is the best
- 39:04Speaker 2: format ever and then we pooh poo all over it.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Are you ready to catch y?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 39:11Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so let's see. Oh no, you jumped on
- 39:18Speaker 4: them talk Yeah, listen, So you could have said adaptive, Oh,
- 39:25Speaker 4: that's not the format for me, and then you know
- 39:28Speaker 4: that everyone can respect that. You know, everyone played Keyfards.
- 39:32Speaker 4: How you want to play Keyfords? Right, but you said adaptive,
- 39:36Speaker 4: here's the dice roll format, and I just lost my mind.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yeah, most adaptive players do when they hear that.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Yeah, because look, look, we just went through we went
- 39:48Speaker 4: through the Final Refrains, we went through Arkhan, we went
- 39:50Speaker 4: through Alliance. You participated in some of those, and how
- 39:54Speaker 4: many times did we have a matchup where a deck
- 39:58Speaker 4: and a pilot just two to oh flattened the other side.
- 40:03Speaker 4: And we're sitting there in the chat and we're going like, oh,
- 40:05Speaker 4: look at these Alliance builds. And if you get the
- 40:08Speaker 4: combo on turn one, it's there's nothing to do but
- 40:11Speaker 4: just like sit here and laugh and it's over by
- 40:13Speaker 4: turn three, and.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Well, yeah, Alliance is no good. We agree, Okay, Alliance
- 40:17Speaker 1: is no good. Arcan ARCon.
- 40:21Speaker 4: We we still have Like when you have a new
- 40:25Speaker 4: set and you open your one hundred decks, how many
- 40:27Speaker 4: of them are you going to bring to.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Archon two point zero one point zero one? I'm like, hey,
- 40:37Speaker 1: can I borrow this?
- 40:40Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 40:40Speaker 3: Right?
- 40:40Speaker 4: Can I borrow that good one? And then PV comes out?
- 40:43Speaker 4: And then that one that you borrowed, you know, Aria
- 40:46Speaker 4: is Aria already like in the dust or like maybe
- 40:49Speaker 4: still good enough?
- 40:50Speaker 1: It's probably I mean it likes archives.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Okay, so when you roll into the ARCon tournament, what
- 41:00Speaker 4: are we doing except eighty percent seeing who brought the
- 41:05Speaker 4: strongest deck.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Honestly, that's very much a matchup game, right, isn't it.
- 41:12Speaker 4: But if we're playing adaptive, we'll play that game. We'll
- 41:16Speaker 4: swap and then we'll find out who's good.
- 41:19Speaker 1: All right, So here's your first problem.
- 41:21Speaker 4: If you win too well, if you win too oh
- 41:23Speaker 4: that was skill, and then all of a sudden, it
- 41:26Speaker 4: breaks the whole game wide open.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Here's here's your first problem. Your first problem is exactly
- 41:32Speaker 1: what you said. We got to play one game, then swap. Okay,
- 41:37Speaker 1: this is an Ewok forge, right, I'm not here for
- 41:39Speaker 1: three hours round one? Okay, not interesting? Oh man, I
- 41:44Speaker 1: had a practice in Alliance game with Ewok for ABR.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I was like, oh man, forever, it is not that slow.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I was like, why did I drive this guy? I
- 41:59Speaker 1: mean that's fair.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because this guy's only lost one game.
- 42:05Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Okay, look at me, mister big time.
- 42:12Speaker 1: You're the best of three.
- 42:14Speaker 4: You reply, we're gonna skip skip the best of three
- 42:17Speaker 4: and we go to best of one, because that's what
- 42:19Speaker 4: we would really play. In a like a in the
- 42:22Speaker 4: Final Refrain, you would play the best of threes in
- 42:25Speaker 4: a vault or whatever. Then we would play best of
- 42:28Speaker 4: one and we would sit down. We would look at
- 42:29Speaker 4: the two decks and we go, okay, that one's complete nonsense.
- 42:32Speaker 4: Triple Trink's creed. So we're gonna bid on this one.
- 42:36Speaker 4: And you're gonna use your keyboard skills to figure out
- 42:38Speaker 4: how much it's worth, and then you're gonna use your
- 42:41Speaker 4: keyboard skills to either make a win or beat it
- 42:45Speaker 4: with the other thing.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Have you listened to my argument before?
- 42:52Speaker 4: I'm not sure that I have, honestly.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Okay, So.
- 42:57Speaker 5: Say we're both really good or even you know, tending
- 43:02Speaker 5: towards moderately good right at keyfde right now we're here,
- 43:06Speaker 5: and yeah, decks are inequal. This is very very true.
- 43:10Speaker 5: And I'm sitting here with my Triple Trunk's Creed and
- 43:14Speaker 5: you know you just your best deck in the world
- 43:16Speaker 5: can't compete with it, right, So you're like, in arcan
- 43:18Speaker 5: this is pointless. I understand what you're saying. I'm not
- 43:21Speaker 5: disagreeing that that is in fact. Okay, so we sit down.
- 43:26Speaker 5: We're going to play adaptive. We play a shitty game. Okay,
- 43:29Speaker 5: you want to go to best of one, So we're
- 43:31Speaker 5: gonna sit down, We're gonna go best of one and
- 43:33Speaker 5: go well, obviously we're both fitting on the bullshit deck. Yeah, okay,
- 43:38Speaker 5: so now we've bid chains. Yep, right now, we're both
- 43:42Speaker 5: good at this. Right in my world, I'm generally planning
- 43:46Speaker 5: against people who are competent in key Ford, not beating
- 43:49Speaker 5: them because I am just better at key Ford, right,
- 43:52Speaker 5: Like I can do that without having to have a
- 43:56Speaker 5: triple trinks creed deck if they're just back at key Ford. Sure, sorry,
- 44:01Speaker 5: we're gonna excellent players. I bid some chains, now you
- 44:05Speaker 5: bid some chains, and I doe more chains. And when
- 44:08Speaker 5: do we quit bidding chains?
- 44:11Speaker 4: When you assess that we've hit the break even point
- 44:17Speaker 4: in this matchup.
- 44:19Speaker 5: Which break even means what are the odds I'm gonna
- 44:22Speaker 5: win with this deck? Yeah?
- 44:26Speaker 4: But so this is where we're going to, like is
- 44:29Speaker 4: a good turn into a coin.
- 44:30Speaker 5: Flip, which is not like a game theory sense, and
- 44:35Speaker 5: that it is right in a game three sense, it
- 44:38Speaker 5: switches to a coin flip. And actually as if if
- 44:43Speaker 5: it's if the game bid is two or three chains,
- 44:48Speaker 5: it's not that as majorly important, right, But when we're
- 44:55Speaker 5: getting into the the seven to fifteen bid range, right, yeah,
- 45:00Speaker 5: and you're playing with significantly less cards right now, like
- 45:08Speaker 5: winning with the bit it up chain deck becomes even
- 45:12Speaker 5: more of a crappy luck draw because if you draw
- 45:17Speaker 5: how strong, right, if you're drawing four four hands when
- 45:23Speaker 5: you're down to chains, like it almost didn't matter that
- 45:26Speaker 5: you bid chains and you win because of the draw
- 45:30Speaker 5: more than the chain bid.
- 45:32Speaker 4: I'm believing that there's something to that absolutely, and.
- 45:35Speaker 5: This is ultimately my total problem with this is in
- 45:43Speaker 5: game theory, and my game theory is what we're doing
- 45:46Speaker 5: is bidding to let's be honest, like sixty forty fifty
- 45:50Speaker 5: five forty five, right, You're not really ever going to
- 45:52Speaker 5: bid to fifty to fifty. Yeah, and we're just ultimately
- 45:56Speaker 5: increasing that luck is going to make a major deciding fact.
- 46:02Speaker 4: So I think what I would say to that is,
- 46:05Speaker 4: this is like the hypothetical two perfect player scenario.
- 46:10Speaker 5: I think.
- 46:13Speaker 4: Some people are better at.
- 46:15Speaker 1: So it's wookie yep, yeah, some people are better.
- 46:19Speaker 4: But also the two players brought decks that they know
- 46:22Speaker 4: inside and out, and so there's an interesting asymmetry there.
- 46:26Speaker 4: And then I think what happens is the player who
- 46:30Speaker 4: is if there's a skilled difference, the player who's got,
- 46:34Speaker 4: you know, the the advantage there manages to apply it.
- 46:40Speaker 4: So in this particular game, like any game, you can
- 46:43Speaker 4: draw cold and you can lose, and so things like
- 46:45Speaker 4: that can happen. But over a series, I think that
- 46:48Speaker 4: the most skillful player will win over and over and
- 46:51Speaker 4: over again. And it had nothing to do with I
- 46:54Speaker 4: opened a crate full of decks and I think that's
- 46:56Speaker 4: I think that's really important.
- 46:58Speaker 2: So again you're you're missing the rn G point of it, right,
- 47:03Speaker 2: because it when we bid up chains and we're getting
- 47:05Speaker 2: into chat crazy chain numbers right right, And you are
- 47:10Speaker 2: in four cards, right, Like, if you draw dead, even
- 47:15Speaker 2: with a really good deck and your only you only
- 47:18Speaker 2: have four cards, you're still gonna crap out against a
- 47:24Speaker 2: deck that has no chains.
- 47:27Speaker 4: I love playing the CODA sixty five SaaS deck against
- 47:30Speaker 4: the gr deck with fifteen chains.
- 47:33Speaker 1: So he and here's the other deal. You're making the
- 47:40Speaker 1: assumption where was ahead with this? I had, I had
- 47:44Speaker 1: an idea where I was headed. Yeah, no, I forgot.
- 47:50Speaker 2: You're making the assumption that chains is leveling the playing
- 47:55Speaker 2: field and that you're able to bring a deck that
- 47:58Speaker 2: your opponent can't figure out. And when you're moderately okay
- 48:04Speaker 2: at the game, most decks can be figured out. Because
- 48:09Speaker 2: you said everything that I always hear from every other
- 48:12Speaker 2: adaptive player, Well, you have to bring the super secret
- 48:15Speaker 2: deck right that your opponent just won't know what to
- 48:19Speaker 2: do with and it's like, no, we've all been around
- 48:22Speaker 2: the block most of the time to be able to
- 48:25Speaker 2: figure out and in a best of three, you will
- 48:30Speaker 2: be showing me how to do it.
- 48:32Speaker 4: That's true, But let's go back to the best of
- 48:35Speaker 4: one for a second, and let's go back to the
- 48:37Speaker 4: final refrain, because this happened a bunch in arkan An Alliance, like, so,
- 48:42Speaker 4: didn't you practice like Wookie and Sheet for your match
- 48:47Speaker 4: against Aren't? I can't remember, But like a lot of folks,
- 48:51Speaker 4: I was consuming all the different content and I heard
- 48:53Speaker 4: a lot of people say the same thing. We practice
- 48:56Speaker 4: this matchup all week, and then when we got into it,
- 48:59Speaker 4: I thought I was favorite like eighty twenty, and it
- 49:02Speaker 4: felt completely different when we got in there in the game,
- 49:05Speaker 4: and I think different people playing that deck on the
- 49:08Speaker 4: other side, aren't. You can get some like surface level practice,
- 49:12Speaker 4: but you can't get the real experience of what that
- 49:16Speaker 4: person playing that deck. Assuming that these decks have lots
- 49:20Speaker 4: of lines, they don't have to be a puzzle that
- 49:22Speaker 4: you can't possibly figure out, but they have lots of lines,
- 49:24Speaker 4: and they have lots of opportunities to archive here and
- 49:28Speaker 4: make little micro decisions that add up and I think
- 49:30Speaker 4: that there's a room for your skill expression.
- 49:33Speaker 5: I don't see why that's missing an ARCon.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Well, the difference between Adaptive and ARCon is that it's accessible,
- 49:41Speaker 4: so you're player's accessible.
- 49:44Speaker 5: If you are newer to this game and you sit
- 49:47Speaker 5: down and have to figure out somebody's else's deck and
- 49:50Speaker 5: bid chains.
- 49:53Speaker 4: I didn't say I didn't say for newbies. I mean
- 49:56Speaker 4: for people who want to compete and they don't have
- 49:59Speaker 4: two thousand decks. They have fifty decks.
- 50:01Speaker 3: So I guess this is where I'll jump in written
- 50:05Speaker 3: down a couple different items, But we ask why is
- 50:08Speaker 3: it skill that we are consistently placing as adaptive. But
- 50:12Speaker 3: before I get to that component, Adaptive has this idea
- 50:17Speaker 3: that all decks are playable, and that's just a fallacy.
- 50:21Speaker 3: The short answer is the short answer is if you
- 50:24Speaker 3: actually look at top level Adaptive that they have a
- 50:26Speaker 3: very specific set of decks that rise to the top.
- 50:30Speaker 3: It is a different set of decks than what you
- 50:32Speaker 3: see for ARCon or what you will see for Alliance,
- 50:36Speaker 3: but it is a very specific set of decks, and
- 50:38Speaker 3: so we really have three piles. You have a pile
- 50:41Speaker 3: of decks that are more conducive for adaptive, conducive for
- 50:46Speaker 3: our and more for alliance.
- 50:47Speaker 5: I agree, we need to make adaptive score now up
- 50:56Speaker 5: because this okay, so this is the same thing that
- 50:59Speaker 5: happened with SaaS cap adaptive store. And then you can
- 51:04Speaker 5: show that these best of the world adaptive decks are
- 51:07Speaker 5: just as rare and stupid as ARCon decks. Then we
- 51:10Speaker 5: can talk some trash again.
- 51:13Speaker 3: So when when she when Sheep talks about SaaS cap,
- 51:17Speaker 3: that is definitely a thing because SaaS is a range.
- 51:20Speaker 3: But there are certain decks that have the same range,
- 51:22Speaker 3: the same number, but they are drastically different and and
- 51:26Speaker 3: and that's when we place a cap. It's just whoever
- 51:29Speaker 3: has a wider collection and has tested it more, which
- 51:32Speaker 3: again you're talking a little bit about for adaptive, then
- 51:35Speaker 3: you can fault and correct.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Honestly, you can find that ARCon.
- 51:39Speaker 4: By definition, it's only the top of the top and
- 51:41Speaker 4: it keeps changing adaptive is there more of the all
- 51:47Speaker 4: decks are.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Like that's the subjective part, Sheep, I mean you allowed objective.
- 52:02Speaker 5: You are absolutely correct. It is subjective. And they sub
- 52:05Speaker 5: definitely don't like playing ARCon and I sub definitely have
- 52:09Speaker 5: never enjoyed playing an adaptive game in my life.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Sorry, let's keep going dress. Yeah, I want to back
- 52:20Speaker 1: up for a second, because that fun is I beholder?
- 52:23Speaker 1: All right? So you agreed cats my dogs? Muh I
- 52:28Speaker 1: want to do cats? I don't know.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Uh.
- 52:31Speaker 1: So you agreed that there are a certain type of
- 52:35Speaker 1: deck that is more conducive to strong, strong adaptive decks.
- 52:40Speaker 1: So yeah, like what, I'm not an adaptive player. Tell
- 52:45Speaker 1: me what what's like top tier adaptive deck? Look like?
- 52:51Speaker 4: I am not a top tier adaptive player, but I
- 52:54Speaker 4: will tell you that if you go look at Mooseman,
- 52:57Speaker 4: dude that plays this like fifty SaaS thing that he
- 53:00Speaker 4: wrects everybody with and ADG plays Chandra of the I
- 53:06Speaker 4: don't know it's full name, but I've played against it
- 53:10Speaker 4: in CAGGI with and against it.
- 53:13Speaker 5: Now.
- 53:15Speaker 4: Decks with a lot of lines I think are the perfect,
- 53:19Speaker 4: you know, decks where every house maybe has game, or
- 53:23Speaker 4: one house looks terrible, but there's a way.
- 53:25Speaker 5: To use it to its best.
- 53:27Speaker 4: So you know, you're getting into the territory of looking
- 53:30Speaker 4: at a sealed deck and saying, like, you know, what's
- 53:32Speaker 4: the best that can squeeze.
- 53:33Speaker 5: Out of this?
- 53:34Speaker 4: You can pick and choose amongst men. Yeah, I mean
- 53:36Speaker 4: another thing that you get to do while you're playing
- 53:38Speaker 4: Adaptive is say, I have a deck in my collection
- 53:41Speaker 4: that is not arkon worthy, but it has a ton
- 53:45Speaker 4: of fun and interesting things that can do, and we
- 53:50Speaker 4: can play a skillful game with this like fun thing
- 53:54Speaker 4: that I'm bringing. So every time you sit down to play,
- 53:56Speaker 4: you never know where you're going to sit across from,
- 53:57Speaker 4: and you're going like, oh, that's fun, all that's fun.
- 54:00Speaker 5: Can't you do that in Arcot? Why can't I Why
- 54:03Speaker 5: do you have to have bids to be able to
- 54:05Speaker 5: sit down across from somebody and agree to play a
- 54:09Speaker 5: game that is on a equal footy, Like I get
- 54:14Speaker 5: what you're saying, Like if you're only if your only
- 54:17Speaker 5: format that you can ever go and playing this game
- 54:20Speaker 5: is at a local store where all they ever play
- 54:23Speaker 5: is Crush your face Arcot, where everybody's always bringing Vault
- 54:29Speaker 5: Tour level art condext to play and you don't have them, Like,
- 54:32Speaker 5: this ain't gonna be fun. And if your only experience
- 54:36Speaker 5: with key Forge is playing through TCO, that's either a
- 54:43Speaker 5: real mess or you're playing in the you know, in
- 54:47Speaker 5: the competitive and it is top level arc on stuff.
- 54:51Speaker 5: Because people are practicing for what there is Like if
- 54:54Speaker 5: those are the only experiences you can have, Yeah, I
- 54:58Speaker 5: can see we're being new to the game.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Is is.
- 55:03Speaker 5: Tough or it's not necessarily easy to play in if
- 55:10Speaker 5: you have this like whole problem where you'll only play
- 55:13Speaker 5: your own decks, right, because I mean, especially online, that
- 55:17Speaker 5: is not acquirement.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:20Speaker 4: So I want to thank you guys for letting me
- 55:22Speaker 4: come on and say something. And I think what I
- 55:25Speaker 4: would part, you know, end with is something like I
- 55:30Speaker 4: get that adaptive isn't everybody's famous favorite format, but I
- 55:36Speaker 4: feel like it's one worth promoting because it's a healthy, welcoming,
- 55:42Speaker 4: accessible way to get more people to come play.
- 55:45Speaker 5: For But I don't think that's true.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Not for newbies.
- 55:49Speaker 4: I don't mean for newbies, I don't mean for like
- 55:50Speaker 4: brand new people.
- 55:52Speaker 5: Here's here's another classic argument I've had with adaptive is
- 55:56Speaker 5: so an ARCon Right, I am able to flex the resource,
- 56:01Speaker 5: at least in the past, not so much anymore. I
- 56:04Speaker 5: can flex the resource I have available to me, which
- 56:07Speaker 5: is my money. Right, I can buy a retarded deck,
- 56:12Speaker 5: or I can buy a lot of sealed product and
- 56:15Speaker 5: try to open something, right, And this is a resource
- 56:17Speaker 5: that I have available to me, and that's how I
- 56:20Speaker 5: can use it to improve my results in this game.
- 56:26Speaker 5: I understand not everybody gets to do that, right, And
- 56:31Speaker 5: Adaptive often and to a great extent, allows somebody to
- 56:37Speaker 5: flex the fact that they have far more time to
- 56:40Speaker 5: invest in learning the one deck they play, which I
- 56:45Speaker 5: don't have. I don't have the ability to sit down
- 56:48Speaker 5: and put a thousand reps on a deck and find
- 56:51Speaker 5: a deck that's sort of one, right, So it's it
- 56:55Speaker 5: is another. It is just flexing a different thing that
- 56:59Speaker 5: not everybody has available to them.
- 57:02Speaker 4: And that's why both of those formats are complimentary to me.
- 57:07Speaker 5: And and I've never never said Adaptives shouldn't be played.
- 57:10Speaker 5: I've said I want nothing to do with Adaptive. Well
- 57:14Speaker 5: I have changed, I've changed my tune on Adaptive to
- 57:17Speaker 5: the extent of like in my I don't think Alliance
- 57:20Speaker 5: should be played. But now there's people who want to
- 57:22Speaker 5: play Alliance, and why take it away? Same thing, the
- 57:25Speaker 5: same you know, the other six people who want to
- 57:27Speaker 5: play Adaptive can go over in the other corner. Peple
- 57:30Speaker 5: want to play a lot, it's going to go on
- 57:31Speaker 5: that corner. And I have no problem with that.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Like because seven people who want to play Shredder all
- 57:38Speaker 2: joined in the middle.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Over there, it's just playing Seal.
- 57:43Speaker 5: And then we're all going to get together to play
- 57:44Speaker 5: Sealed now, right, because that's the only thing in this
- 57:47Speaker 5: game that isn't some diseased monster, and even that's got
- 57:52Speaker 5: issues currently. Yeah, it's it's it's at least fun still,
- 57:59Speaker 5: at least, I think, Henny.
- 58:03Speaker 2: I mean, the only way you're ever gonna honestly skill
- 58:06Speaker 2: test anything is if for Sealed we are all given
- 58:12Speaker 2: the same deck, and then that's just a skilled test
- 58:16Speaker 2: of who who's r G came out better.
- 58:20Speaker 1: But that's exactly it is.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean that's literally the only way I
- 58:28Speaker 2: play the same deck.
- 58:29Speaker 1: And then it's timing. So so let me highlight something
- 58:34Speaker 1: that I think I think I heard, and you guys
- 58:39Speaker 1: can tell me if this is is right or wrong.
- 58:44Speaker 1: It sound a little bit like hey, for ARCon and
- 58:50Speaker 1: and Alliance there. It engages with the sort of person
- 58:58Speaker 1: who wants to hunt down find either within their own
- 59:06Speaker 1: collection or you know, purchase a deck or pods or
- 59:11Speaker 1: whatever that they think is going to be the best
- 59:15Speaker 1: and like that hunt and then honing their skills on
- 59:23Speaker 1: that deck is the engaging part, whereas perhaps adaptive, it's
- 59:30Speaker 1: about folks saying well, I just want to bring a
- 59:35Speaker 1: deck I enjoy and I like m and find a
- 59:41Speaker 1: way to make that a competitive style event. Yeah, which
- 59:47Speaker 1: is like the opposite direction. Is that fair?
- 59:51Speaker 4: I think that's I think that's fair. And to me,
- 59:53Speaker 4: it's like it creates another space. We have three and
- 59:58Speaker 4: a half million key Fords, and so many of them
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: are just crying out like play me, no, no, there,
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: shred me.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: You're really wrong. You're missing this shape. It is pass
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: it to Pete.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Pete piles, that's what they are.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Pete's piles. I sent Pete some fodder.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: We give Pete fodder on a weekly basis, so get
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: on our level. We just go, well, this is garbage, Pete.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: So I still think that key Forge and the sealed
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: environment is a good investment, and it's investment for time.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Like we're coming out, you're playing with friends. If you're
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: going ahead and doing another social activity, whether that's going
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: to a bar or going ahead and grabbing dinner or
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: going ahead and going to a movie, you would pay
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: for that same amount. And so in that manner, key
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: Forge is a really good investment of time. But most
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: of these decks equate to just being middling decks that
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: they're fine if you want to bring out and play
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: against some of your friends. But again, this is a
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: competitive podcast, and so the idea is to have something
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: that's competitive the range, and Garfield himself has said this,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: there was a it was not intending for this game
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: to be balanced. So as soon as you hear that
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: you have decks that have a wide range, it's just
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: depending on how are you going ahead and playing to
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: that range. Are you looking for the most broken deck ARCon,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: are you looking for individual pods that you can put
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: together alliance or are you looking for a deck that
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: is quirky that you personally have an attachment to that
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: can do some very unique things adaptive?
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Yep, yeah, so looking for a deck? Oh sorry, you
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: got ahead cuts with that?
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: Oh I'm just agree yeah, go ahead?
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Okright, okay, So all right, so I have a question,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: so looking for a deck. Would it be correct in
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: your opinion to say that most adaptive players are looking
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: for a deck within their own collection, or do a
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: significant number of adoptive players, like kind of Archon style,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: go hunting for a deck that they think meets like
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: whatever criteria.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: In my experience, people find a deck and go, oh,
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: this is a gem. Oh I love this deck. Oh
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: I've got fifty hundred reps on this deck. Oh maybe
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: I should take this to adaptive like a deck that
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: you like.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: That question, mister drascoor adaptive is not a recognized legal format.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: But that that doesn't matter, It doesn't Can I finish
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: this state now? All right? Cool? Yes? No, I'm just
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: gonna keep it to my cel phone and dogs.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: We gotcha, go.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Ahead, wow because the dogs. Wow there you go go ahead.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Lookie, I was gonna say most so, how many people
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: are playing in Kagi?
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: We had a record number and I forgot what it was,
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: seventy two or whatever.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it has actually been increasing. I will give credit there.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: I think I'm gonna.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Run KAGGI live at Vegas, by the way, are you going?
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: No that I've heard live will be there.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: I will not be there. I will say that.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: The one of my issues with each of these formats is, again,
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: we have a very small community as a whole. When
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: we show up for an event of key Forge, there's
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: not three hundred or five hundred or eight hundred or
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: one thousand players that we see in other card games,
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: we're sub one hundred. So to have these different little factions,
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: in my opinion, creates more division versus, hey, we're all.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Playing one game.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: And yes, it's great that you can individually play, but
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: in my opinion, Alliance, ARCon, sealed and adaptive that can
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: all be for your local store where your individual playgroup
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: can go ahead and play and figure that out and
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: have fun with whatever formats they want. But when we
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: get into a larger environment, we should be playing sealed.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: That's really where it's at. You can play ARCon. It
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: just when we get splits and we're smaller and smaller
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: and smaller demographic, it just it doesn't make sense to me.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: But that's my two cents.
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: I think I think the increase is has to do
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: with how you know, and my opinion poor the world
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: of ARCon and Alliance has become. I might be that well,
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: I think it's part that an Alliance.
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: Format is awful, but like it is the rampant craziness
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: and quality of decks that has happened, is that the
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: instability that there is in those formats, which some people
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: think is good, but ultimately doesn't actually sit well with
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: long term players.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: I do think that there's two other components that need
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: to be taken in consideration. One of those being that
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: we have a smaller community, and so you have players
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: who are just looking to play some of those decks
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: that can't be played again in Arkon and they don't
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: have a pod for Alliance. But also there has been
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: a nice group of people who've come together who've put
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: forward the time and effort to build the community that
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: is Adaptive. So I think all three of those parts
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: make for an increase and people wanting to go ahead
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: and join. People have talked about it, and then they've
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: put in the time and effort, and if you show
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: up again weekly or through the events online, then yes
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: it'll grow. But I give real credit to the organizers
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: who have gone ahead and increase the numbers Vegas.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: I'm going to play Stealed ARCon and Adaptive.
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: I'm going to Vegas, and I'm not registering for KeyForge.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: You're drinking, so that's because you're arriving late. You would
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: play Sealed, right, Yeah?
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: Yeah, had I got there in time for Sealed, I
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: would have registered for that.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: The so so okay, so I I am sympathetic to
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: the thought of, Hey, you know, I play a lot
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: of sealed. It's my favorite. Sometimes I'll run across the
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: seal deck where I'm like, this is just like a
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: lot of fun to play, but it's not good enough
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: to do something, you know, to take to a.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: R.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Connor Alliance format. So I could see the allure of
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: while give me a format that I could still play
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: this deck. Like that thought makes sense to me. I guess,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: so let's hold me back. Well, one, I just play
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: more sealed, right, that's the real answer. But I guess
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: the secondary answer is I don't know that I love
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: chains and chain bidding, Like do I want to invest
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: in the chain bidding skill, which is like a really
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: important part of adaptive Like I enjoy it when I
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: do it now and then. But if I was like,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: can I tell you my secret? Yeah, yeah, go ahead, okay.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: Sheep said, less than five chains almost doesn't matter, and
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: you just got to figure out what twelve chains is worth,
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: like sixty five SaaS coda up against gr eighty eight nonsense,
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: and then everything in between. Just use your gut. That'll
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: get you through ninety percent of adaptive games. You don't
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: really have to go into this like micro but it's it's.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: And that is exactly why I could win in adaptive
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: is because yeah, just throwing the gut at it.
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: Trust your gut, and when we have a lot of
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: play experience, it gives it advantage. But the problem is
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: is that you want to really look at the individual
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: matchup and if I'm bringing a board heavy deck, I'm
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: looking to see are you how many board clears are
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: you bringing? Like all of those nuances are things that
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: have to be kept in mind. But yeah, and you
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: can have some knowledge and basis around it, and.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: So you'll you'll wipe the floor with me using my
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: gut and that's good. I mean, I think I think
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: that should be rewarded.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: I would just prefer to speed up the game. I know,
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: I can hear.
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: The can't afford to be a flower.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Okay in the chat and instead actually one you're looking
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: at multiple games, so that that is a deficit. You
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: can play single game adaptive, which again gives more leniency
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: to players who have a larger card pool knowledge base.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: But I would much rather see instead of chains where
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: we're slowing the game down. My opponent is going to
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: head and drawing an extra card, which is a very
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: different dynamic, but something to speed up the game of
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: extra cards, which again, but that also changes which decks
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: become more viable for adaptive and then that's that's an
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: important thing to be able to keep in mind. How
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: I relate adaptive is when you first come out to
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: ARCon you may be playing tabletip with your buddy and
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: you may have this deck that just keeps winning, it
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: keeps stomping, you really have fun with it. I still
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: remember my first CODA deck that I had fun with
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: with my wife. We were playing across the table. It
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: had twenty four creatures, and then I brought it to
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: what was essentially local p at that time and got
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: stomped because the meta that was in the home was
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: very very different than what we would see anywhere else.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: And adaptive help. It was action based steel and that mattered.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: But when you see that.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Fair and balanced deck, I don't want to hear anything
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: about it.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: But what I'm saying is adaptive to me still has
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: that little bit of feel, is that people have some
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: real affinity towards certain decks. They love them, but you
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: bring them into an actual environment where you have some
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: competitive adaptive players and that really slims or cuts certain people.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: And again, similar to ARCon, you see certain players making
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Top eight consistently adaptive of the same thing. It just
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: seems to be a different set of I won't say
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: different set of people, but a different group of decks.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: That are kind of being able to make it to
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: the top.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: And it partially because of who's playing and what decks
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: they're playing.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: I want to share this one dress I did pay
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: for a non ARCon deck. Marty sold me this deck
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: that I put in the chat Incisive to you of
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: the Rock. It's Cursed Relic, it has Flints Map, it
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: has triple Daughter and articulated ren This deck is super
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: fun to play, and it's it's not obviously doing one
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: exact you know thing. It's got all these piece parts
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: that are like moving in different directions and uh yeah,
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: I think I think this is an example of a
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: deck that can kind of capture you and you'll spend
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: a lot of time with it.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: Yeah, but notice your joy even when you're talking about it.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: You are having fun. And that's what I want to
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: be able to see and that that should be with
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: a sealed deck. It's a real bummer when you open
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: a sealed stinker and you're like, uh, I don't want
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: to play this again. The same thing happens when you
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: show up with an arc on deck and then you're
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: just getting blown out. In the old days, you know
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: you had it wasn't just O two, but you just
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: kept playing. But you're playing other people who are at
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: your same level essentially. But I love hearing your excitement
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: over this deck. And it doesn't need to be a
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: big SaaS number, but it has some it has some tools.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: I mean, they need a format where you can only
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: play double or tan decks. That's what we need.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: We can't have that format because you own them all.
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: Well, I mean I can't help you aren't for double,
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: but you that is not true.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Name one.
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: I don't know. I sold one back in the past.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Mh.
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: One more thing to sell you on a deck, One
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: more thing, one less. When you sit down to play
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: and it ends up that you're playing the other deck
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: and you see the person across from you do something
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: cool with your deck that you've never seen before. That's
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: key forge magic. I love that part.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Well I do you think? I mean yeah?
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: Then yeah, people play your deck online and stuff. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: it doesn't hurt to see other people do things with
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: your deck.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Absolutely, it gives you a different perspective. What I like
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: is regardless.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Of what format you're playing close games. Honestly, when it's
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: two keys to two keys and you're pushing and it's
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: going back and forth, those are the games and it
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: doesn't matter what format it is. So that's why it's
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: so important that we test these decks and we make
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: sure that they are more the range is not as
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: drastic as we've seen with some of the more recent.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: Or we could just not make busted busted cards.
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: Crazy love busted busted cards.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Not busted, just one busted, thank you.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: I don't need bus busted, just busted, fine, but fine.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: Busted bust are exponential busted too far, sir, too far.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I can do no cas dogs. You may get a
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: lot of folks coming out to play adaptive because they
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: listen to us to be like, those guys are idiots opposite,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: uh yeah, and just do the opposite of what these
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: fools say. I mean, that's definitely why our guest is
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: here in the audience, right, you know, thousands idiots, what
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: are they saying this time. Yeah, yeah, that's why most
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: people listen to us. They're like, what are these morons
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: talking about?
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: Adaptive is just another one of those formats that I
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: don't care for. It exists as long as I don't
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: have to play it. Sure, isn't that?
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: But that's everything. You're like, I don't care if this
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: card game exists as long as it doesn't come by me.
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: Well, yeah, that's that's how that's get along with life.
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: I don't have to that's right. Things don't have to
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: die just because I don't like them. Mm hmm, I
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: mean something should die.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: A little bit of sorry, go ahead.
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: I was just I was just saying, thanks, thanks for
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: letting me come on and say a little something about it.
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: So Bookie is a licensed troll, quadruple a troll.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: That's what I do best, talk ship and troll online.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: These are too bad.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: Those don't translate well into a resume somehow. But you know,
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: professional ship talker isn't to.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Help you in the hiring process. Professional talker isn't a
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: job yet. It'll be one day, one day, a professional
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: ship talker will be up there. Not today though. Well,
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: but I think we've had enough fun for tonight. Can
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: we all agree? Sure?
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: Yes, I have to get up.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Were you sufficiently violated tonight because we can go further?
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: That was great? Did you just ask for consent? Is
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: that what I'm hearing? What? No? Oh my goodness, you
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: have to ask for you well, hold on number one.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: At least he asked. Cats has warned right many times
