- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to a DM podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We'll try to keep it as nice as we can,
- 0:05Speaker 2: but you might hear the occasional swear word in No Dribble.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Don't tell Mom, Hello, and welcome to No Dribble.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I'm comedian and writer Carolyn Swindell. This is episode seven.
- 0:26Speaker 2: The week's flying by faster than a lightning helld ball.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I am joined this week, as always by two wonderful people,
- 0:33Speaker 2: got Co and Lise Ellis.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Speaking of number seven, I'm married to the youngest of seven,
- 0:37Speaker 1: so seven is a good number.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Seven is a great number. It's a lot of people's
- 0:40Speaker 2: lucky number, isn't it.
- 0:41Speaker 4: It's mine, that's right. Seventy seven is actually my lucky number.
- 0:44Speaker 4: And then people think I'm bored that you. I'll take
- 0:47Speaker 4: that because I'm totally not.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I was born in sixty nine, which is obviously right
- 0:50Speaker 2: for a lot of humor. But anyway, true story.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Elizabeth, you're looking great in racing car Red today, I
- 0:56Speaker 4: must say, do you go faster?
- 0:57Speaker 5: I need more than a red shirt to make me
- 0:59Speaker 5: go fast?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Started lots of coffee, No, but I always I feel
- 1:02Speaker 1: like I always wear this shirt because it's my sloppy
- 1:04Speaker 1: hanging around home.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Shirt, you know, like it's got a bit of a.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Hole here, but I really feel comfortable in it. Don't
- 1:11Speaker 1: you have sloppy hanging around home clothes that you wear
- 1:14Speaker 1: all the time.
- 1:14Speaker 4: It's dressing gown lately because it's freezing, but normally it's
- 1:17Speaker 4: just trackies.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I'm pretty much always in gym gear, which is because
- 1:22Speaker 2: I go to the gym in the mornings and then
- 1:24Speaker 2: standards I don't care anymore. Standards have completely drop, so
- 1:27Speaker 2: unless I have to leave the house or have a
- 1:29Speaker 2: meeting or something, I'll stay in that through to my
- 1:31Speaker 2: shower at night time. And if anyone's got a problem
- 1:33Speaker 2: with that, well though, I will deal with that. But yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 2: so I'm pretty much always in gym gear.
- 1:37Speaker 5: I've got a question, don't you get trash if you're
- 1:39Speaker 5: a gym gear all day?
- 1:40Speaker 1: I'll find that that's the little problem that pops up
- 1:42Speaker 1: if I stay in my tights all day.
- 1:44Speaker 2: No, find that's interesting. I can see why though.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Yeah, pH levels better than.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Your nether regions and tightlycra Yeah, I can see that
- 1:57Speaker 2: that now I'm worried about it. Thanks you for ruining
- 2:01Speaker 2: myside from that?
- 2:03Speaker 4: Isn't it just uncomfortable.
- 2:05Speaker 2: No, it's so comfortable.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I can't do It's just even getting them on exhausting.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Is it?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Your makes a very long, quite a quick process for me.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Tides are on, It's like a giraffe from a pull
- 2:18Speaker 4: stoppings on. There's a mental thought, there's lots to chat about,
- 2:23Speaker 4: so much to talk about it. We'll get to that
- 2:25Speaker 4: later on. Hey, but hey, how productive was I this morning?
- 2:29Speaker 4: I don't know what it is, but if I can
- 2:30Speaker 4: get a slow cooker on before I leave the house,
- 2:33Speaker 4: I feel like I have won the day because I
- 2:36Speaker 4: don't ever do it. But you know, you're coming home
- 2:38Speaker 4: to dinner done.
- 2:39Speaker 2: And you feel like you should get some type of
- 2:41Speaker 2: award when.
- 2:41Speaker 4: You do that, because you've got to do it the
- 2:44Speaker 4: day before. You've got to have the ingredients to chuck
- 2:46Speaker 4: it all in there and let it cook all well.
- 2:47Speaker 2: There is the Barnardo's Mother of the Year Award that
- 2:50Speaker 2: someone could nominate you for, although I do think they
- 2:52Speaker 2: go for people with slightly more achievements in the mothering
- 2:56Speaker 2: space than a slow cooker. But I take my hat
- 2:58Speaker 2: off to you.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Thank you. Yeah, I'll think of you later tonight when
- 3:01Speaker 4: I'm having whatever kind of chicken it is.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I know what you're doing, though, you're delaying because you
- 3:07Speaker 2: don't want to talk about scrunchy gait. Yeah we yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 2: this has been a really interesting week as it's last
- 3:15Speaker 2: week we talked about the scrunchies, and Catherine, to my recollections,
- 3:19Speaker 2: swore blind that she had never worn a scrunchy. Then
- 3:23Speaker 2: do we have that on tape?
- 3:25Speaker 4: Yeah, we say I'd never worn one so much as
- 3:27Speaker 4: I would never wear one again.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Well, you said you didn't like them, right, you're very vehement,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and you know, there's a few issues that we need
- 3:34Speaker 1: to unpack because I think when you're playing netball, I
- 3:38Speaker 1: used to like my hair to match my uniform and
- 3:40Speaker 1: suddenly with no scrunchy.
- 3:41Speaker 5: And remember that can't happen. I mean you were very old.
- 3:44Speaker 5: You were for the large part of your career headband wearer.
- 3:47Speaker 4: And my headband had a box to traveling because why
- 3:54Speaker 4: do you to go straight to the gutter? I say
- 3:55Speaker 4: box and you're giggling like twelve year olds. No listen,
- 3:58Speaker 4: because it was one of those I saw it my
- 4:00Speaker 4: Alice band. It's like a tortoiseshell kind of whatever. But
- 4:04Speaker 4: for the first six of them, I'd throw them in
- 4:07Speaker 4: my bag and they would snap straight away, so I
- 4:09Speaker 4: had to find a little box to protect it when
- 4:12Speaker 4: we were traveling at its own little travel box. I mean,
- 4:14Speaker 4: how sad is that story?
- 4:15Speaker 2: So you were traveling economy but your headband was traveling
- 4:18Speaker 2: first class.
- 4:20Speaker 4: It was in a suite, Yes it was.
- 4:22Speaker 5: It was.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But you know it's not sad that that happened. You know, Catherine,
- 4:26Speaker 1: your opposition to the scrunchy and the ribbons loses credibility
- 4:30Speaker 1: when you used to play in an Alice band. Yeah. True,
- 4:34Speaker 1: if I played in alicepand that alicepan would end up
- 4:37Speaker 1: in places that Alice band should never be because I
- 4:39Speaker 1: used to throw myself around everywhere. But you could keep
- 4:42Speaker 1: Alice band perfect. It was like you and David Beckham
- 4:45Speaker 1: the two best. Where is it the Alice band in
- 4:48Speaker 1: international sports?
- 4:49Speaker 2: She just glided around the court like Grace Kelly, sometimes
- 4:53Speaker 2: putting a ball through the hoop and scoring one of
- 4:56Speaker 2: her thousands of goals for the Diamonds. But I think Ca,
- 5:00Speaker 2: I'll go back and listen and I'll apologize if I'm wrong,
- 5:02Speaker 2: but I'm pretty certain that you said that you'd never
- 5:04Speaker 2: worn a scrunchy, and fortunately we now have a nation
- 5:08Speaker 2: of dribblers out there investigating this type of scam. And
- 5:13Speaker 2: Nicky Conway Buckley went on our Facebook and posted a
- 5:16Speaker 2: video from nineteen ninety seven of actual footage and it
- 5:20Speaker 2: was almost close to this day in nineteen ninety seven,
- 5:23Speaker 2: actual footage of Catherine Cox sporting a scrunchy. This is big.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Well, look here, there's a few things here. I must
- 5:32Speaker 4: point out. Nineteen ninety seven was my first cap, right,
- 5:37Speaker 4: so I'm very impressionable. Don't want to rock the boat.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I'm pretty confident they were standard team issue right because
- 5:44Speaker 4: they had I think they had the little kangaroos around
- 5:47Speaker 4: them as well. They were yellow with the green kangaroos.
- 5:49Speaker 4: So who's going to arc up to our captain at
- 5:52Speaker 4: the time, which I think was Vicky Wilson. Please, I
- 5:55Speaker 4: still scared to talk to her and tell her that
- 5:58Speaker 4: I'm not wearing the team scrum. So, guys, it was
- 6:01Speaker 4: a bit kind of forced into it, and I'm sorry
- 6:04Speaker 4: to say it happened, but it won't happen again.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I bet it will.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Look that wasn't the last time you wore a scrunchy,
- 6:09Speaker 5: was it? You must have worn for a while until
- 6:12Speaker 5: you entered your alice band phase.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yes, yes, well, as you know, dribblers. We did have
- 6:17Speaker 2: a long talk about scrunches last week and we did
- 6:19Speaker 2: have a brilliant idea that there would be a No
- 6:22Speaker 2: Dribble scrunchy and I am pleased to announce that the
- 6:25Speaker 2: No Dribble Team we're not all words and hot air,
- 6:28Speaker 2: that we are people of action, and we have swung
- 6:31Speaker 2: into action and there are now on this planet in
- 6:34Speaker 2: existence no dribble scrunches made by hand by the No
- 6:39Speaker 2: Dribble Team, with assistance from my husband Pete, who was
- 6:42Speaker 2: the head of the production line, master sewer and chief
- 6:45Speaker 2: poorer of Chardonnay, which may account for some of the
- 6:49Speaker 2: sewing on it. Don't look too closely at it, but.
- 6:53Speaker 4: There's no warranty with these. There's no one breaks within
- 6:56Speaker 4: your first war yep.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Sorry, but these are only going to be sent to
- 7:00Speaker 2: our wind beneath our wings winners. So we've got six
- 7:04Speaker 2: making their way around the country and I've mapped this
- 7:07Speaker 2: for us, so we have one wind beneath our winger
- 7:09Speaker 2: from Western Australia, one from Queensland, three from New South Wales,
- 7:14Speaker 2: one from Victoria. Is that six?
- 7:16Speaker 5: That's six? Yep.
- 7:17Speaker 2: None from South Australia, None from Tasmania, none from the
- 7:21Speaker 2: Northern Territory.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Come on, guys, None from the act.
- 7:23Speaker 2: None from the Act. But anyway, we will be sending
- 7:27Speaker 2: you win beneath our wingers, your handcrafted no dribble scrunchy.
- 7:32Speaker 2: When you get it, please put it on, take some photos,
- 7:35Speaker 2: put it on the Facebook page. We want to see
- 7:37Speaker 2: these things out in the wild. It's happening.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Do you know what I'd like you to do first? Though,
- 7:42Speaker 4: if you're the lucky recipient, it's just take a moment
- 7:45Speaker 4: to look at it and admire it, because those things
- 7:47Speaker 4: are bloody hard to mate. How long did it take
- 7:51Speaker 4: us to make The first five was two and a
- 7:53Speaker 4: half hours?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that we were really slow in the beginning,
- 7:57Speaker 2: and then I don't know whether we got better at it,
- 8:00Speaker 2: standards dropped, whatever it was. But by the end of
- 8:02Speaker 2: the session we'd actually we'd made quite a few.
- 8:05Speaker 4: But yes, forty and five hours.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Forty and five hours and honestly.
- 8:09Speaker 5: How many drinks?
- 8:10Speaker 4: Having forty about forty?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yes, well, our friends at Princely Wines did help us out. Well,
- 8:16Speaker 2: I don't know. Did they help us. They certainly gave
- 8:18Speaker 2: us some lovely wine helped the exercise, but it was
- 8:22Speaker 2: hard to find something for Catherine to do. But she
- 8:24Speaker 2: was in charge of precision cutting.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Well I did that and I was terrible at it,
- 8:28Speaker 4: so I quickly got moved on to chop sticking. Now,
- 8:31Speaker 4: for those who've never made a scronchy before, the material
- 8:34Speaker 4: is inside out and you have to turn it so
- 8:35Speaker 4: it's long. You've got to turn it in the other way.
- 8:37Speaker 4: So I had to get my chopstick in the material
- 8:40Speaker 4: and pop it out the other side. That's where my
- 8:43Speaker 4: skill set is. My job were you now? We then
- 8:46Speaker 4: you got chatting and distracted to take over because the
- 8:49Speaker 4: line was waning. Anyway, thank you to our wonderful producer man.
- 8:53Speaker 4: She came to wine drinking with the side of scrunchy making.
- 8:56Speaker 2: And really helped out with the technical aspects of chopstick.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And we like codation chop sticking very nice anyway, So
- 9:04Speaker 2: that's exciting. So look forward to those and yes, please
- 9:09Speaker 2: send in your win beneath our wings nominations, particularly if
- 9:12Speaker 2: you are from any of the states or the territories
- 9:14Speaker 2: where we currently will not have scrunchy representation.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Imagine being the only person in your whole state with
- 9:21Speaker 1: a no dribble scrunchy imagine theos or the ridicule.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I don't know, let's see ridicule now, Elizabeth. Also on
- 9:32Speaker 4: the Facebook page, you know how last week we asked
- 9:35Speaker 4: for people to send or put in photos of someone
- 9:38Speaker 4: that was famous celebrity concerns. Oh god, the amount that
- 9:42Speaker 4: were photos with you? And I'm pretty sure I said
- 9:44Speaker 4: that doesn't count, right, but.
- 9:45Speaker 2: It doesn't count? And pretty much no one put up
- 9:47Speaker 2: anyone other than pictures of netballs. It's like, look, that's great,
- 9:51Speaker 2: but you know who else have we met?
- 9:53Speaker 4: Well? Sue Gordion put one up of Sue and I
- 9:56Speaker 4: with the Freak from Wentworth and I don't know if
- 9:58Speaker 4: you went Worth watches, but it was based on Prisoner,
- 10:01Speaker 4: wasn't it back in the eighties that show The Freak
- 10:05Speaker 4: is the scariest character ever And Liz and Gordy and
- 10:09Speaker 4: I everybody.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Wanted to that was the original series of Prisoner? Was Vinegartid?
- 10:15Speaker 4: Was she the boss? What are they called? In him?
- 10:17Speaker 2: She was one of the screws. I don't know.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I think it's based I think the Freak is based
- 10:23Speaker 4: on vigitis anyway. But we were flying from Sydney to
- 10:27Speaker 4: Perth for a test match and Gordy and I, big
- 10:30Speaker 4: fans of the show, saw the Freak in the line
- 10:32Speaker 4: going through security and seriously shit our pants because you
- 10:37Speaker 4: just think of the character. So it was kind of
- 10:40Speaker 4: like a fan. It was a freaky fang or moment,
- 10:42Speaker 4: but also scared for your life kind of moment. Anyway,
- 10:45Speaker 4: before we even thought about approaching her, we had this
- 10:49Speaker 4: whole discussion about how it would happen. Who would say what,
- 10:53Speaker 4: We've got to get the camera ready, Who's going to
- 10:56Speaker 4: stand on which side of it? Like we were so
- 10:58Speaker 4: scared to go up to this woman who's just normal
- 11:00Speaker 4: person because you just forget.
- 11:02Speaker 2: And then Liz what they're called an actor, Yeah, yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 4: That's right. She's very very good at that because it
- 11:08Speaker 4: was pretty scary. But Liz was rolling her eyes at
- 11:11Speaker 4: us the whole time, like, just go up and ask
- 11:13Speaker 4: her for a photo. But we were so worried about
- 11:16Speaker 4: not having the camera ready, like we just didn't want
- 11:18Speaker 4: to piss her off. So we had the camera ready,
- 11:21Speaker 4: said to Liz, soon as soon as we get there,
- 11:24Speaker 4: and we we say what we've got to say, and
- 11:25Speaker 4: we stand next door, you've got to take the shot,
- 11:27Speaker 4: and then we've got to get out of there because
- 11:28Speaker 4: we don't want to bother this woman at all. It
- 11:30Speaker 4: was pathetic, wasn't.
- 11:31Speaker 5: It was lovely and she was on freeture.
- 11:32Speaker 4: It was amazing.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know what you two are
- 11:35Speaker 1: so scared of, because you know, you don't often see
- 11:37Speaker 1: you and Gaudy scared of anyone.
- 11:39Speaker 5: So no, she was really nice. Most people are nice,
- 11:42Speaker 5: you know. It's like you know when.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Little kids, they the parents come up and they go, oh,
- 11:45Speaker 1: my daughter wants a photo, but she's too scared to ask.
- 11:48Speaker 5: But I'm like, do they think I bite?
- 11:50Speaker 1: My kids will say yeah, she does, but it just
- 11:52Speaker 1: depends on how hard she bites. But yeah, so anyway,
- 11:55Speaker 1: thank you everyone who put out photos with me.
- 11:57Speaker 5: It was lovely.
- 11:58Speaker 1: So oh my god, hey you speaking like you? Yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 1: how like when you think like I forget that I'm fifty.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And because you're not anymore, by the way, well.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Shut up right, I forget one and I think that
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'm twenty, and so you know the real there's like
- 12:12Speaker 1: a real jarring moment. I had it today when you
- 12:14Speaker 1: see a photo of somebody who was young when you
- 12:16Speaker 1: were young, and then you see them now and you.
- 12:18Speaker 5: Go, oh, and I saw a photo of Madonna today, which.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Which is part of it?
- 12:25Speaker 1: Where possibly that's the thing that scares me. That's like, whoa,
- 12:30Speaker 1: where's a real bit?
- 12:32Speaker 4: She's plastic, fantastic?
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yeah, And the feminist inmy doesn't know how to deal
- 12:35Speaker 2: with this. It's like Madonna can do whatever whatever she
- 12:38Speaker 2: wants with her face, right, But it's also like, why
- 12:40Speaker 2: should she feel she has to do stuff with her face?
- 12:42Speaker 2: And this is the great debate that I have. And
- 12:44Speaker 2: it's like, oh, and it's like, you know what, everyone
- 12:47Speaker 2: do whatever they want if it makes them happy. But
- 12:51Speaker 2: I don't know whether when you look at that and
- 12:52Speaker 2: you go, that's a long way from what I think
- 12:55Speaker 2: you were trying to achieve, is that person happy? But
- 12:58Speaker 2: how old is she one hundred and forty?
- 13:00Speaker 1: My point is not how she looks like in terms
- 13:02Speaker 1: of what she's done. My point is that it actually
- 13:05Speaker 1: it's a funny reflection on yourself, and you go, oh, gee,
- 13:08Speaker 1: they're getting old?
- 13:10Speaker 5: What does happen?
- 13:10Speaker 1: Mean?
- 13:11Speaker 4: You know? That's right?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Maybe I'm not fifteen singing a longted Papa don't preach anymore. Yeah,
- 13:19Speaker 2: so Mandy, our wonderful producer, has just used her amazing
- 13:22Speaker 2: googling skills. And Madonna is sixty five years old and
- 13:25Speaker 2: if you see a perform she is still a powerhouse.
- 13:29Speaker 5: She's amazing. That's awesome.
- 13:32Speaker 4: On birthdays, though, can I just do a shout out
- 13:34Speaker 4: to my sister?
- 13:35Speaker 2: She was fifty on Monday, so she's still fifty because
- 13:38Speaker 2: she's less than three hundred and sixty five days have passed, so.
- 13:43Speaker 4: She reckons she's having a midlife crisis. Though you're not
- 13:47Speaker 4: going to live.
- 13:47Speaker 2: To one hundred, but I reckon. You know that's the
- 13:50Speaker 2: whole fifties the new thirty, and you know forty is
- 13:54Speaker 2: the new twenty. It's like, well, is twenty the new fetus?
- 13:57Speaker 4: Then? What is it?
- 13:57Speaker 2: How does the system work? At what stage? Are you
- 14:00Speaker 2: actually still your biological age?
- 14:02Speaker 5: And I don't want to be twenty again?
- 14:04Speaker 4: No, not if you're breastfeeding. What the sound of that?
- 14:07Speaker 4: Were you just said that fetal age again?
- 14:09Speaker 5: Oh?
- 14:09Speaker 4: Okay? Are they back to baby?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Right?
- 14:10Speaker 2: Okay, you're not Actually you're not the one. Very confusing
- 14:15Speaker 2: working with children. I remembered a quick celebrity encounter that
- 14:18Speaker 2: I had Speaking of children, I don't have a photo
- 14:20Speaker 2: of it, sadly, but in twenty ten I was working
- 14:22Speaker 2: on ruok Day and it was the second year of
- 14:24Speaker 2: it and we did a big launch in Bondi and
- 14:26Speaker 2: Dominic Purcell from Oh Yes, Prison Break Yeah was doing
- 14:32Speaker 2: some endorsements for us, and so I had to drive him.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I drove him in to the Kyle and Jackie Oh
- 14:36Speaker 2: Show and then we had him out to Bondi to
- 14:39Speaker 2: do a big event there and we had the Today
- 14:41Speaker 2: Show and then we had an opportunity seven Rang whatever
- 14:44Speaker 2: their morning show is, Can he come in? And it's like, yeah, okay.
- 14:47Speaker 2: So gave Larkin, who's the founder of r uok Day,
- 14:50Speaker 2: who was quite unwell then and died not long afterwards.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I had to get him and Dominic into the city.
- 14:55Speaker 2: But I also had my two step daughters who were
- 14:57Speaker 2: like fourteen and twelve at that stage, and I had
- 15:02Speaker 2: my Commodore station wagon with my two year old son's
- 15:05Speaker 2: car seat right in the middle, so I had to
- 15:07Speaker 2: yanke it out. I put Gave in the front seat
- 15:08Speaker 2: because he was not well, and Dominic you have to
- 15:10Speaker 2: sit in the back seat with my two stepdaughters. But
- 15:13Speaker 2: I had to pull the baby seat out, and you
- 15:14Speaker 2: know when you pull your kid's car seat out, how
- 15:18Speaker 2: festy it is under there? And it's like, okay, well,
- 15:22Speaker 2: I know you're from Hollywood, but you're back in Australia now, mate,
- 15:24Speaker 2: So just sit on the Arnet's milkcarro route and suck
- 15:27Speaker 2: it up and so and he did. It was great,
- 15:30Speaker 2: you know, and he's now Miley Styrus's stepfather.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Can you imagine his version of events? And I told
- 15:36Speaker 4: that story that would be.
- 15:38Speaker 1: The car and I sat in this seat and there
- 15:40Speaker 1: was a cure for cancer.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yep, or certainly some antibiotics were growing in there. Anyway,
- 15:49Speaker 2: we should talk about netball because there's some big stuff
- 15:52Speaker 2: happening and dribblers. You might have noticed that in last
- 15:55Speaker 2: week's episode there was a strange little audio quality issue.
- 15:58Speaker 2: And we had started to talk about this Sishu when
- 16:00Speaker 2: we were recording last week, but the official announcement hadn't
- 16:03Speaker 2: been made, so that little cutaway to me saying we're
- 16:06Speaker 2: not going to talk about it. I had to go
- 16:07Speaker 2: into my bedroom. So Maddie sends me very good instructions
- 16:10Speaker 2: on how to do this, but under the doner with
- 16:13Speaker 2: my iPhone recording that bit, so if it sounded a
- 16:16Speaker 2: little bit strange, but we can talk about it this
- 16:23Speaker 2: week because official announcements have been made. So we do
- 16:26Speaker 2: need to talk about the Swifts, We need to talk
- 16:27Speaker 2: about the Firebirds. We need to talk about some great
- 16:29Speaker 2: netball that happened and some awesome milestones too.
- 16:32Speaker 4: So where do we start? Should we start with the Swift?
- 16:34Speaker 4: Singing brought it up? So Sam Wallace, Joseph and the
- 16:37Speaker 4: club have officially parted ways, and we knew that was coming,
- 16:41Speaker 4: but we had to wait till we got the official
- 16:43Speaker 4: word on that. But it's really interesting because we all
- 16:46Speaker 4: thought it had been going on for a couple of weeks,
- 16:49Speaker 4: and then yesterday's game they interviewed Maddi Turner, they interviewed
- 16:53Speaker 4: Briany during the game, and Maddie Proud after the game
- 16:56Speaker 4: as well, all of them saying this had been going
- 16:58Speaker 4: on for a month or so.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Man, and that's a long time for that level of stress.
- 17:02Speaker 4: It is a really long time. And interesting though, because
- 17:05Speaker 4: they kept saying that the team is really happy now
- 17:09Speaker 4: they're not getting the wins on court, but they're really
- 17:12Speaker 4: flourishing off court, so it sounds like it was something
- 17:16Speaker 4: that desperately needed to happen, and it's almost like the
- 17:18Speaker 4: weight is now off. They're enjoying what they're doing and
- 17:22Speaker 4: they can just get on with the season. Because the
- 17:24Speaker 4: other thing for Paul briani Akle is she couldn't look
- 17:27Speaker 4: to sign another player whilst all this was going on.
- 17:30Speaker 4: This had to be finalized and done before she could
- 17:32Speaker 4: go ahead and find someone else. So now she's only
- 17:34Speaker 4: got what four weeks left of the league, five games
- 17:37Speaker 4: left before finals, that she's got to try and find
- 17:40Speaker 4: someone maybe tough ask.
- 17:41Speaker 2: What are you up to? How's your shooting nowadays?
- 17:43Speaker 4: I did tell her I was available. It's like if
- 17:46Speaker 4: Nat Madehurs can make him come back, Like that's her
- 17:48Speaker 4: John Farnham come back.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Remember when Alan Langer did that for State of Origin
- 17:51Speaker 2: for Queensland, flew back from the UK and ran on.
- 17:54Speaker 4: It was amazing.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Was like he was I don't know, eighty four years
- 17:57Speaker 2: old or something. It's a long time after his professional career.
- 18:00Speaker 5: It ended Catherine entertain the possibility. God, no, yeah, you
- 18:07Speaker 5: could do it.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I could so not do it. God love you for
- 18:10Speaker 4: even thinking that I played. I have played one game
- 18:13Speaker 4: of netball since I've retired. Because my girlfriend was nerding
- 18:17Speaker 4: me constantly to go and play social netball. There's nothing
- 18:20Speaker 4: social about it because you're an older team of ladies
- 18:23Speaker 4: that think it's social, but the eighteen year old brats
- 18:25Speaker 4: you're playing just want to take you out. I had
- 18:27Speaker 4: three weeks of physio after that one game a netborner.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I'm feeling a no dribble netball tournament coming on at
- 18:34Speaker 2: some stage in our future.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Jesus, if I'm wearing the scrunch, you kill me.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Now?
- 18:37Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 18:38Speaker 5: Gal?
- 18:38Speaker 4: Shoot?
- 18:38Speaker 2: Do you just stand under there?
- 18:39Speaker 4: Right? It's so hard.
- 18:41Speaker 2: It's not like you're a mid courter and you've got
- 18:43Speaker 2: to run around.
- 18:44Speaker 4: She's got so much to learn.
- 18:45Speaker 5: No, she doesn't think she's pretty correct.
- 18:47Speaker 4: The wing de Fans is bagging out the goal shooter role. Roger.
- 18:51Speaker 1: It's fascinating, isn't it that what is happening off court
- 18:54Speaker 1: is so like when with the benefit.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Of hindsight, you can see how it plays on on court.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Because some of their recent performances have been very unswift like.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Even when they're losing, you expect the way they've loss
- 19:06Speaker 1: has been just not like them. So even if they
- 19:09Speaker 1: don't have even if they don't make finals, and it
- 19:12Speaker 1: is sort of that fourth position in finals looks to
- 19:15Speaker 1: be the one that's up for grabs between a number
- 19:17Speaker 1: of teams. It'd be fascinating to see what the resolution
- 19:21Speaker 1: of the Sam Wallis Joseph issue is. If that resolution
- 19:25Speaker 1: actually contributes to a much better performance on court, you'd
- 19:28Speaker 1: have to think that that will. So, even if they
- 19:30Speaker 1: don't get the wins, are we playing better netball?
- 19:32Speaker 2: But interesting, there's a few people now saying, oh, they
- 19:34Speaker 2: should have kept Ramelda aken George, But behindsight that, yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 2: it's like this is you know, when that decision was made,
- 19:41Speaker 2: this was the right decision, right of course.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Right, Sam Wallace had sort of contributed to She was
- 19:47Speaker 1: like the MVP on a number of occasions for the team.
- 19:49Speaker 1: She contributed to Grand Final wins, and you've got to
- 19:52Speaker 1: show loyalty to a player who's been injured. So, you know,
- 19:55Speaker 1: didn't Maddie Turney yesterday and that interview look like the
- 19:57Speaker 1: way of the world was off her shoulders. And I
- 19:59Speaker 1: think the hard part is not just what's going on
- 20:01Speaker 1: in the team, but the speculation around it.
- 20:04Speaker 4: And I think big time.
- 20:05Speaker 1: They've done a pretty good job because you've got to
- 20:06Speaker 1: sort of look after the inside of the team and
- 20:09Speaker 1: we'd all love to know exactly what happened. But you've
- 20:12Speaker 1: also got a player in Sam Wallis Joseph who might
- 20:14Speaker 1: want to pursue other options, other careers elsewhere within football,
- 20:19Speaker 1: so you need to look after her as well well.
- 20:21Speaker 4: The implications are, of course that she was here on
- 20:23Speaker 4: a working visa, so she's now not with the club,
- 20:26Speaker 4: has to go home somewhere else. Yeah, all go somewhere
- 20:31Speaker 4: else where she gets a contract, so it's a tough one.
- 20:33Speaker 4: But again, you know, do you get a job somewhere
- 20:36Speaker 4: else in terms of another team when something like this
- 20:39Speaker 4: has gone down, because I guess people would want to
- 20:41Speaker 4: know what's happened before they go signing. There's implications everywhere.
- 20:45Speaker 4: But how about the Firebirds? So this all came out
- 20:48Speaker 4: on the same day and I think everyone was kind
- 20:51Speaker 4: of waiting for the Swifts one, including the Firebirds media
- 20:54Speaker 4: manager I Reckon. They were sitting there with their bombshell
- 20:57Speaker 4: waiting to press send on the press release.
- 20:59Speaker 2: It exactly that is pr one oh one bury it
- 21:02Speaker 2: as much as you can.
- 21:03Speaker 5: So for clarity for anyone who's not across that, the
- 21:05Speaker 5: five Birds.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Bombshell is the media release says they have parted ways
- 21:10Speaker 4: mutually with the head coach, Rebecca Bully, but I don't
- 21:14Speaker 4: know about that. Do you leave with five games to
- 21:17Speaker 4: go when you're on a four year contract? Seems a
- 21:20Speaker 4: bit oh, doesn't it. But the plot has certainly thickened
- 21:24Speaker 4: because the club announced that there was absolutely no player
- 21:30Speaker 4: involvement in Beck's contract falling through or finishing up. Kim
- 21:36Speaker 4: Revellion also said in a pregame interview yesterday that she
- 21:39Speaker 4: wants to say absolutely no player involvement, but Australian Netball
- 21:45Speaker 4: Players Association or AMPIRE as they call it, have said
- 21:48Speaker 4: that they have had discussions with the players.
- 21:51Speaker 2: And the people on the netball chats on Facebook do
- 21:55Speaker 2: not believe that the Queens and Firebird players had nothing
- 21:57Speaker 2: to do with this.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Well that's what it looks like. But interesting too. Lauren Brown,
- 22:02Speaker 4: who was their assistant coach, was given the introm coaching
- 22:04Speaker 4: role head job role on the weekend. She had a
- 22:07Speaker 4: front up to a presser afterwards and was in tears
- 22:10Speaker 4: the entire way through it. You could see that she
- 22:13Speaker 4: had been pushed in front of the cameras she was
- 22:16Speaker 4: the one having to answer the questions. So Paul Lauren
- 22:18Speaker 4: has since then announced that she doesn't want the job
- 22:21Speaker 4: and she's leaving. So I think the weekend was all
- 22:24Speaker 4: too much and it's not her responsibility to fix whatever's
- 22:27Speaker 4: going on up there. And they've announced today that Katie Walker,
- 22:30Speaker 4: ex player and also ex assistant coach, is going to
- 22:32Speaker 4: take a coaching position for the rest of the season.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Doesn't say head coach, but a coaching position alongside Roseley Jenkins.
- 22:39Speaker 1: So the counter argument to that, of course, is that
- 22:41Speaker 1: perhaps the Firebirds management is just trying to contain everything.
- 22:45Speaker 1: So you just release your press release and that's it, right,
- 22:49Speaker 1: and then you just hope that the team can sort
- 22:51Speaker 1: of get on. So it's interesting to try and to
- 22:56Speaker 1: sort of see where where management might be wanting to
- 23:00Speaker 1: amias any damage. So, I mean, it'd be really difficult
- 23:02Speaker 1: to sort of go through this process as an organization.
- 23:05Speaker 2: I imagine the Firebirds don't look like a team that
- 23:07Speaker 2: have had a weightlifted from their sholders. So the Swifts,
- 23:10Speaker 2: it was quite interesting. Yep, they lost, but they did
- 23:12Speaker 2: look in those postmatch interviews. Okay, we are now in
- 23:15Speaker 2: a position where we're looking forwards. The Firebirds didn't look
- 23:18Speaker 2: like that, and I think they are probably quite away
- 23:21Speaker 2: from having any of that stability and relief and ability
- 23:24Speaker 2: to just go al right, astraw line under this and
- 23:26Speaker 2: look forward, stay tuned. But there were some really great
- 23:31Speaker 2: things about the netball on the weekend. Obviously we had
- 23:33Speaker 2: some great games, but there are a couple of major milestones,
- 23:36Speaker 2: and Cat it's probably better that you talk about at
- 23:38Speaker 2: least one of these.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Oh well, Lizzy can talk about this one as well.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Julie Fitzgerald four hundred games, amazing, absolutely and saying no
- 23:47Speaker 4: one will ever surpass that. There's not a chance in
- 23:49Speaker 4: the world. But Liz, I actually contacted Todd Miller, who's
- 23:52Speaker 4: one of the Statiician gurus, because I was interested in
- 23:56Speaker 4: the players that had played the most games under Jewels,
- 24:00Speaker 4: and you and I are in the top five, which
- 24:02Speaker 4: is very cool. And we looked a little bit past that.
- 24:05Speaker 4: There's at least six or seven players that have played
- 24:07Speaker 4: over one hundred games under Julie. Doesn't that just scream
- 24:11Speaker 4: what a great coach is?
- 24:12Speaker 5: Yeah? That's amazing, isn't it?
- 24:14Speaker 1: And I think the thing to remember with Julie is
- 24:16Speaker 1: that the greatness of her coaching is not about the
- 24:19Speaker 1: amazing netballing site. Although you do get that, the greatness
- 24:22Speaker 1: is about how she cares about her players as people.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And you know that was really evident to us all
- 24:28Speaker 1: the way through when we played with her. She cared
- 24:30Speaker 1: about us as people first and player second. And that's
- 24:32Speaker 1: how she got the best out of everyone around her.
- 24:35Speaker 1: She was someone who only played maybe sort of B grade,
- 24:39Speaker 1: local B grade, but she was always able to get
- 24:43Speaker 1: the answers out of everybody around her. And so I
- 24:46Speaker 1: always think that's really clever leadership and clever coaching because
- 24:49Speaker 1: the players would give her what we thought was the
- 24:51Speaker 1: answers and that we build our game plans on that,
- 24:53Speaker 1: and then we would own the game plans because it
- 24:55Speaker 1: was our ideas.
- 24:55Speaker 5: So she was very clever in that regard.
- 24:57Speaker 1: And I think everywhere she's gone she's tried to you
- 25:00Speaker 1: make our teams feel like they're part of the family,
- 25:04Speaker 1: and I mean we we almost became part of her family.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Catherine have been to family lands and all that sort.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Of stuff, and the Horges family as well. How many
- 25:13Speaker 2: families have you joined.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Catherine Cox Horges fits Gerald.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Funny though Liz Gorgeous Horges imagine getting the name tags
- 25:23Speaker 2: on that for a primary schooler.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Oh god. But she also was a single mum with
- 25:29Speaker 4: four young kids, working and this is before it was
- 25:32Speaker 4: professional and coaching nippule probably five times a week. She
- 25:37Speaker 4: was amazing in what she actually got done. So we
- 25:39Speaker 4: were part of the family. That's how she treated us
- 25:42Speaker 4: because it was just, you know, it's the way it was.
- 25:44Speaker 4: We weren't players that would leave because there was money
- 25:47Speaker 4: poaching us and going to different places. We were together
- 25:49Speaker 4: for years, to the point that she would say, if
- 25:52Speaker 4: you're ever out anywhere and you need someone to come
- 25:54Speaker 4: and get you, or you need help, let us know.
- 25:57Speaker 4: So Liz and I actually rang it one night at
- 26:00Speaker 4: about two o'clock in the morning, had a few drinks
- 26:03Speaker 4: at a pub somewhere. Jules, can you come and pick
- 26:06Speaker 4: us up? And she did.
- 26:09Speaker 2: She rang the single mother with four children to come
- 26:11Speaker 2: and pick you up.
- 26:12Speaker 4: The kids are a bit more self sufficient then, but
- 26:15Speaker 4: she did. She came all the way to Castle Hill
- 26:17Speaker 4: to together.
- 26:18Speaker 2: You know what this is sounding like to me, and
- 26:20Speaker 2: this is without notice. We haven't talked about this prior,
- 26:22Speaker 2: but I reckon, Julie Fitzgerald needs a scrunchy. I think
- 26:26Speaker 2: Julie Fitzgeral. She's not just a professional coach. She has
- 26:31Speaker 2: come through. She's done the hard yards for this sport
- 26:34Speaker 2: for a really long well, she.
- 26:36Speaker 5: Put up with me and Catherine. That is hard yards.
- 26:40Speaker 1: So the other big thing this week, and I know
- 26:42Speaker 1: we've had a couple of controversial things happen, but Maddie
- 26:45Speaker 1: Brown played her one hundredth games, so she sent you in,
- 26:48Speaker 1: so huge congratulations to her.
- 26:51Speaker 5: She's such a good egg.
- 26:53Speaker 4: And you're in for the Swifts, to be clear, because
- 26:55Speaker 4: she did play for the Adelaide Thunderbirds since twenty and eleven.
- 27:00Speaker 4: And I think so it's now Swift centuryon alongside Elizabeth
- 27:04Speaker 4: and I and we'll have to run through the initiation
- 27:07Speaker 4: when we.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Are amazing message Maddie Proud, be very afraid.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Run run fast.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Well, actually, Catherine, I've got to say, if Maddie Prowd
- 27:17Speaker 1: runs fast, you and I aren't going to catch her.
- 27:19Speaker 4: No true, run slow.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Well, the goal shoot is certainly not going to catch hers.
- 27:25Speaker 5: A gun keeper.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I'm very excited because in two weeks says, you know,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I go to all the Swift's home games, but I'm
- 27:32Speaker 2: going away on holiday, so I will miss the last two,
- 27:34Speaker 2: but I'm going to.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Right when they need you. You're leaving.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to Western Australia and I get to
- 27:40Speaker 2: go to the Fever Giants game on the I think
- 27:43Speaker 2: it's the thirtieth of June. I reckon. I will be
- 27:45Speaker 2: the only person there in Orange. So dribblers, if you're
- 27:49Speaker 2: there and you see a short brunette dressed for the Giants,
- 27:52Speaker 2: say hello, I'd love to meet you. I'm very excited.
- 27:55Speaker 2: And then I'm going up to Exmouth and I will
- 27:57Speaker 2: be recording that episode of No Dripple from up near Ningluo,
- 28:01Speaker 2: so it's super exciting.
- 28:03Speaker 4: I think. Can I just add you you need to
- 28:05Speaker 4: wear a scrunchy, a no dribble scrunchy to the game
- 28:08Speaker 4: so they know who you are.
- 28:10Speaker 2: I don't want to do that.
- 28:11Speaker 4: You have to do that.
- 28:13Speaker 2: One nominated me for wind beneath my wife.
- 28:16Speaker 4: That's not the point. You can't preach the scrunchy and
- 28:19Speaker 4: then say you're not going to wear one. I will
- 28:21Speaker 4: wear God you're turning, Yes.
- 28:24Speaker 2: These are sacred, these are for our nominees.
- 28:27Speaker 4: It has to be scrunchy for just for that day.
- 28:30Speaker 4: And then if who's our w a person. If they're
- 28:33Speaker 4: at the game, they need to come and get it
- 28:34Speaker 4: from your hair.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Lily. Lily and Lily's dad, Nigel nominated her.
- 28:40Speaker 4: And then they get the scrunchy once they recognize you
- 28:42Speaker 4: in the crowd.
- 28:45Speaker 5: Another shot brunette and orange.
- 28:47Speaker 1: She's not you with a scrunchy, and Lily and her
- 28:49Speaker 1: dad come and tackle her.
- 28:52Speaker 2: In a strange parallel universe goodness. So I can't wear
- 28:56Speaker 2: the wind beneath our wing scrunchy because these are sacred
- 28:59Speaker 2: and you need to have received a nomination for one
- 29:03Speaker 2: of those. I want to wear the Giants gear because
- 29:05Speaker 2: I think I might be the only one there in orange.
- 29:08Speaker 2: But I will I will work out over the next
- 29:11Speaker 2: week something that is a little more distinctive. In case
- 29:13Speaker 2: there is a flood of Giants supporters who fly across
- 29:15Speaker 2: to Western Australia for this event. I will work out
- 29:18Speaker 2: something that makes it more distinctive. I particularly want to
- 29:20Speaker 2: meet Lily if you're going to be there, Lily to
- 29:22Speaker 2: come and get you scrunchy. But any other dribblers say, Hi, okay,
- 29:28Speaker 2: you know this segment. It's when beneath our wings we've
- 29:30Speaker 2: already gone rogue here and said that this week's when
- 29:33Speaker 2: Beneath our Wingers is the marvelous Julie Fitzgerald. But there
- 29:36Speaker 2: are lots of other things happening out in netball Land
- 29:38Speaker 2: that we need to be talking about.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Cath.
- 29:41Speaker 2: What's happening on Cap Coast?
- 29:43Speaker 4: Oh, I know how amazing is this? So I had
- 29:45Speaker 4: a message from Phoebe. Capcoast Netball Association in Central Queensland
- 29:49Speaker 4: advertised their regional carnival in August and they had to
- 29:53Speaker 4: close nominations within forty eight hours as they hit one
- 29:56Speaker 4: hundred and seventy junior team.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Wow, I believe that in forty eight hours. And they
- 30:03Speaker 4: also said we'd love to have Liz back to your Poon. Hello, Phoebe,
- 30:08Speaker 4: I will travel.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I had so much some when I went to your
- 30:11Speaker 1: pun and Didson coach it was years ago.
- 30:13Speaker 5: It was great. It's a beautiful part of the world. Yeah, hey,
- 30:16Speaker 5: what about deb Lee.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Congratulations Debbiel the five hundred person to join our Facebook
- 30:20Speaker 1: through Yeah.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Thanks to everybody who's been inviting their friends and getting
- 30:25Speaker 2: on and having a chat introducing themselves. It's been so fabulous.
- 30:29Speaker 2: We met Carla, I mean you already had Liz, but
- 30:32Speaker 2: Kath and I got to meet Carla, which was exciting.
- 30:35Speaker 4: And she did clarify it wasn't so much the swearing
- 30:37Speaker 4: but talk of vibrators.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah. But I also wanted to give a
- 30:44Speaker 2: shout out to Peter Stewart who had a collection of
- 30:46Speaker 2: photos of herself. Now now Peter looks like she's about
- 30:49Speaker 2: my height. Collection of photos of herself with tall netballers
- 30:52Speaker 2: was an awesome post. And you know, off the back
- 30:54Speaker 2: of last week talking about a one hundred and ninety
- 30:57Speaker 2: cent to meet wing defense in sun Corps Supernetbook. Do
- 31:00Speaker 2: we know who the tallest player in sun Cops Supernetbull
- 31:02Speaker 2: is to be?
- 31:03Speaker 4: Janiel? Wouldn't it Janille fell on Emma. I think she's
- 31:06Speaker 4: six four six five.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Well, clearly, Peter, We're going to have the half fast
- 31:12Speaker 2: answer from Liz and Cathy unless you want to follow
- 31:14Speaker 2: this up for.
- 31:14Speaker 4: It you don't me, Kathy, Hang on a minute.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I said, I didn't call you, Kathy.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Sorry, what is it?
- 31:23Speaker 2: Miss Cox? Horges? What other family? John Fitzgerald.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Speaking of Horges, though, Leanne Hopkins posted a photo of
- 31:30Speaker 4: herself with Georgie Horges and says she loves her as
- 31:33Speaker 4: much as I do. I don't know about that.
- 31:36Speaker 5: I want to see you in the end.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Take it out in the car park and Alicia Jones
- 31:40Speaker 1: plays for Booken Hills Netball photo Facebook of herself with
- 31:45Speaker 1: her son that his first ever was Swifts game or
- 31:47Speaker 1: decked out in the Swift ski and she said she
- 31:49Speaker 1: fang heiled hard when she saw uk nip off to
- 31:53Speaker 1: the lou before the first center past Ala.
- 31:57Speaker 5: For a long time, it becomes repective after a while.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Did you know what happened the other day? Though our
- 32:03Speaker 4: rehearsal went a little bit too long. I had literally
- 32:06Speaker 4: two minutes to run to the bathroom and get back
- 32:08Speaker 4: before we're live on air. There's nothing quite like trying
- 32:11Speaker 4: to wei when you're.
- 32:12Speaker 5: Book quick, get it out.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Lucky Carolyn wasn't in there for the chat then, wasn't it.
- 32:17Speaker 2: But I've been having a great chat with Alisha this
- 32:19Speaker 2: week because our netball Junior netball was rained out again
- 32:22Speaker 2: on Saturday morning. My poor under elevens didn't get to
- 32:24Speaker 2: play again, and I know there were lots of people
- 32:26Speaker 2: who missed out. But Alisha was talking about what her
- 32:29Speaker 2: association is doing in order to try to make up
- 32:32Speaker 2: these games that you know we're losing so many games,
- 32:35Speaker 2: so how do you run a camp? And it's hats
- 32:37Speaker 2: off to all of the people doing the scheduling for
- 32:39Speaker 2: these associations because it's so hard to know when do
- 32:42Speaker 2: you call off a game, what sort of time slot
- 32:45Speaker 2: do you call? Do you say, have the eleven thirties
- 32:47Speaker 2: on tedder Hook's waiting. So it's tough these decisions having
- 32:51Speaker 2: to be made on the fly and then looking at
- 32:53Speaker 2: how do we turn this into a comp when we've
- 32:55Speaker 2: lost so many weeks?
- 32:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but do you know what this is why you
- 32:57Speaker 1: play netball? Because I'll get a one who plays soccer.
- 33:01Speaker 1: They've had like the moment you get a bit of rain,
- 33:04Speaker 1: the councils like, oh you're going to look after the field.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Loved him blast and network.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Really only gets called off when it's torrential, where soccer
- 33:11Speaker 1: gets called off when you know there's a little bit
- 33:13Speaker 1: of dribble in the sky.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Well, my local netball courts were built on what was
- 33:17Speaker 2: the side of an old tip, so we have had
- 33:20Speaker 2: some subsidence and a number of the courts have quite
- 33:22Speaker 2: deep lagoons right in the middle of Yes, but it's okay.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I know that our local member Jerome Laxal is working
- 33:29Speaker 2: hard to try to get his funding to get the
- 33:31Speaker 2: damn thing replaced or else you could talk.
- 33:33Speaker 4: To Elbow about that.
- 33:34Speaker 5: I'll put on my list.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Well, I think that's the end of our time together. Gosh,
- 33:37Speaker 2: we've had an amazing chat this week. There's so much
- 33:39Speaker 2: to talk about. We didn't even really talk about any results.
- 33:42Speaker 2: You know, some teams are going really well, others are
- 33:44Speaker 2: not good. Summary, thank you. I am an expert in
- 33:47Speaker 2: the game. That fourth position is still up for grabs,
- 33:49Speaker 2: and I reckon there's two, three, possibly even four teams
- 33:53Speaker 2: who who could grab that. But we'll talk about that
- 33:56Speaker 2: next week. So I want everyone to have a fabulous week.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I want Saturday, Friday night and Saturday to be dry
- 34:02Speaker 2: for everyone so we can play some netball. But I'm
- 34:05Speaker 2: Caroline Swindell. This has been no dribble, So bye bye from.
- 34:08Speaker 4: Me and and bye from me. I'm going home to
- 34:10Speaker 4: my car.
- 34:12Speaker 2: That's Catherine Cox, and bye bye from.
- 34:15Speaker 5: By from Liz get whatever slow called fishmalok up, Okay, nothing.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Have a great week, guys,
