• 0:11
Hello friends, it's Sean here and it is Friday.
• 0:15
It is the 20th of December. Can you believe that Christmas
• 0:19
is less than a week away? Yes, next week Wednesday we are
• 0:24
going to be celebrating Jesus birth together.
• 0:27
How exciting is that? If today's the last day for you
• 0:31
going to work, Oh well done and you are almost on holidays.
• 0:34
Or maybe you are already on holidays.
• 0:36
If that's you, well done, well done, you have made it there.
• 0:40
May your preparations for Christmas go smoothly and
• 0:44
enjoying a little bit of time between all those things to just
• 0:48
stop and wonder at the amazingness of Christmas.
• 0:54
God's rescue plan, sending his beloved Son to us.
• 0:58
And today, friends, today we are going to read a Psalm together.
• 1:01
This is Psalm 145. This is a Psalm of praise.
• 1:05
It's one of these poems written as an acrostic.
• 1:08
Now that gets a little bit lost as we read it in English and not
• 1:12
the original Hebrew, but still, this is a Psalm of praise, a
• 1:16
song about God's majesty and love for his people.
• 1:21
So this is a wonderful one that we are going to declare together
• 1:24
today as we sing or say or share this Psalm of Praise of David,
• 1:32
Psalm 145. I will exalt you, my God and
• 1:46
King, and praise your name forever and ever.
• 1:51
I will praise You every day. Yes, I will praise you forever.
• 1:56
Great is the Lord. He is most worthy of praise.
• 2:01
No one can measure His greatness.
• 2:04
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts.
• 2:09
Let them proclaim Your power. I will meditate on your majestic
• 2:14
glorious splendour and Your wonderful miracles.
• 2:19
Your awe inspiring deeds will be on every tongue.
• 2:22
I will proclaim Your greatness. Everyone will share the story of
• 2:27
Your wonderful goodness. They will sing with joy about
• 2:31
your righteousness. The Lord is merciful and
• 2:36
compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
• 2:43
The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all His
• 2:48
creation. All of your works will thank
• 2:51
you, Lord, and your faithful followers will praise you.
• 2:55
They will speak of the glory of your Kingdom.
• 2:58
They will give examples of your power.
• 3:01
They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty and
• 3:06
glory of your reign, for your Kingdom is an everlasting
• 3:12
  Kingdom. You rule throughout all
• 3:14
generations. The Lord always keeps His
• 3:20
promises. He is gracious in all He does.
• 3:24
The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their
• 3:29
loads. The eyes of all look to you in
• 3:32
hope. You give them their food as they
• 3:36
need it. When you open your hand, you
• 3:40
satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.
• 3:44
The Lord is righteous in everything he does.
• 3:48
He is filled with kindness. The Lord is close to all who
• 3:53
call on Him, yes to all who call on Him.
• 3:56
In truth, He grants the desires of those who fear Him.
• 4:02
He hears their cries for help and rescues them.
• 4:06
The Lord protects all those who love Him, but He destroys the
• 4:11
wicked. I will praise the Lord and may
• 4:15
everyone on earth bless His holy name forever and ever.
• 4:32
I'll let your praise be always on our lips, Lord.
• 4:37
May our first instinct as we wake in the morning, as we are
• 4:43
stuck in monotony, as we see a glorious sunset, and as we face
• 4:49
the challenges of a day, may praise for you always be on our
• 4:55
lips and in our heart. For You are worthy of praise now
• 5:02
and in every moment of life. Thank you for being the
• 5:10
majestic, glorious God that you are, never short on presence or
• 5:16
power or might or majesty, but more glorious and holy than any
• 5:22
other. So we just praise you in all of
• 5:27
your glory, Lord Jesus, and we thank you that in your glory you
• 5:33
still choose to love us. We love you and we praise you.
• 5:40
And it's in your name that we pray, Jesus, Amen.
