- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now you'll find out what it all means. Hey, smart
- 0:06Speaker 2: simone on seven teno long. Okay, we go a lot
- 0:12Speaker 2: to get to today. Jimmy Kimmell gets the biggest insult imaginable.
- 0:16Speaker 2: We'll get to that. We'll get to the way. Do
- 0:18Speaker 2: you hear what the Democrats are gonna unleash on President Trump? Next,
- 0:22Speaker 2: we'll get to that. We'll get to the Ukraine, We'll
- 0:24Speaker 2: get to CBS News a lot of changes. We'll get
- 0:27Speaker 2: to Bruce Blakeman big announcement this morning. Have a freezing
- 0:32Speaker 2: cold outside, colder than Hillary Clinton's smile out there. It
- 0:36Speaker 2: is freezing. But you got to give credit to those smokers.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I don't care how cold it is when I come there.
- 0:44Speaker 2: They are in front of the building out there, going
- 0:46Speaker 2: out there to smoke, standing out there in the freezing cold.
- 0:49Speaker 2: You see the smoke coming out of their mouth and
- 0:51Speaker 2: they haven't even lit the cigarette yet. It's just the
- 0:53Speaker 2: freezing cold. So let me just tell you this before
- 0:58Speaker 2: anything else. Here's what you're gonna hear the couple of days.
- 1:00Speaker 2: They're getting ready to unleash this. The Democrats are going
- 1:04Speaker 2: to go after President Trump for mortgage fraud. They think
- 1:09Speaker 2: they got him on mortgage fraud. I don't know, maybe
- 1:11Speaker 2: they got some who knows. But they've uncovered documents from
- 1:15Speaker 2: the nineties. They had to go back thirty years to
- 1:19Speaker 2: find this. But apparently at the time, in the mid nineties,
- 1:25Speaker 2: President Trump had mar A Lago then and he was
- 1:28Speaker 2: spending a lot of time in Palm Beach, and he
- 1:31Speaker 2: started to buy houses near mar A Lago as they
- 1:35Speaker 2: came on the market. A couple of nice houses came
- 1:37Speaker 2: on the market, and he bought two of these houses,
- 1:40Speaker 2: and he got mortgages from Merrill Lynch and apparently he
- 1:44Speaker 2: declared them his primary residence. They would both be his
- 1:46Speaker 2: primary residents. So Democrats, they can't investigate anything. You could
- 1:52Speaker 2: steal eight billion dollars in fraud in Minnesota, in that Somalia,
- 1:58Speaker 2: the fraud homeless scheme. They won't investigate it. The New
- 2:03Speaker 2: York Times won't even mention it. NBC, abccbist, they won't
- 2:07Speaker 2: even look at it. They won't. But these Democrats have
- 2:11Speaker 2: been going through every document in the history of Donald Trump.
- 2:14Speaker 2: They went back to the nineties to find these mortgage documents.
- 2:20Speaker 2: They think they got them on mortgage fraud. Exactly the
- 2:22Speaker 2: same thing as Letitia James. I don't know. I don't
- 2:25Speaker 2: think so. Merrill Lynch, which is now owned by Bank
- 2:28Speaker 2: of America, it's been contacted by the Democrats and asked
- 2:33Speaker 2: for copies of this mortgage, and they said it's forty
- 2:38Speaker 2: years ago, now thirty years ago. It's thirty years ago,
- 2:40Speaker 2: thirty two years ago. They said, we don't even keep these,
- 2:43Speaker 2: we don't keep the documents thirty two years we don't
- 2:45Speaker 2: even have to have. So, well, you're gonna start hearing
- 2:48Speaker 2: about this mortgage fraud by Donald Trump. Let's see if
- 2:50Speaker 2: this amounts to anything. Let's see if the documents are real.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Let's see if any of this actually pans out. The
- 2:57Speaker 2: President will be going to the Poconos today. Why is that.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I think there's a casino there. He's going to he's
- 3:04Speaker 2: going to talk about affordability, He's going to talk about
- 3:07Speaker 2: the youet to remember the one thing that's really going
- 3:10Speaker 2: to make a difference, ce Ebyody. Are these tax cuts,
- 3:12Speaker 2: biggest tax cuts in history. And they haven't kicked in yet.
- 3:16Speaker 2: They don't start till January. So everybody because of the
- 3:20Speaker 2: tax cuts gets a huge wage increase starting in January,
- 3:24Speaker 2: a smaller tax bill. It'll make a huge difference in
- 3:28Speaker 2: the economy. Now, if this is right, what we're going
- 3:31Speaker 2: through right now, the economy is pretty good right now,
- 3:33Speaker 2: It's actually pretty good. Don't buy the fake news. Wages
- 3:36Speaker 2: are actually rising all year long. Wages have been rising
- 3:40Speaker 2: at a much faster pace. Prices have been going down
- 3:42Speaker 2: all year and that's what you want. That's how you
- 3:46Speaker 2: get back to normal. Remember, you had the worst inflation
- 3:49Speaker 2: under Biden, worst inflation in fifty years. Actually some say
- 3:53Speaker 2: the worst inflation in history for middle class consumers. So
- 3:57Speaker 2: you can't expect that to get fixed in ten months on.
- 4:00Speaker 2: It could take a year and a half to fix that.
- 4:02Speaker 2: But great progress has been made again, Wages are rising fast,
- 4:06Speaker 2: prices are coming down. So if right now what we
- 4:10Speaker 2: got is an affordability crisis, that means we had five
- 4:15Speaker 2: times the affordability crisis under Biden, and the same media
- 4:18Speaker 2: never mentioned it, never even brought it up. But he'll
- 4:21Speaker 2: uh one of the things who told you about this
- 4:23Speaker 2: last week. One of the things they've decided is that
- 4:26Speaker 2: the president has to go back into campaign mode. He's
- 4:29Speaker 2: going to need to do that a lot in twenty
- 4:31Speaker 2: twenty six for the midterms, but they've decided he'd better
- 4:34Speaker 2: start doing it now. One of the problems is he
- 4:37Speaker 2: redid the White House, and it's beautiful. If you look
- 4:40Speaker 2: at the Oval Office, he made it so palatial and
- 4:43Speaker 2: so ornate, with the gold all over the walls and
- 4:47Speaker 2: just incredible. It looks like Versailles. It looks incredible, and
- 4:51Speaker 2: it's good because when you bring in foreign leaders, this
- 4:53Speaker 2: is the impression you want to make. You don't want
- 4:55Speaker 2: it to look like a cold municipal building. You want
- 4:58Speaker 2: it to look really impressive because these foreign leaders, they
- 5:01Speaker 2: work in palaces, they work in the most unbelievable luxurious place,
- 5:06Speaker 2: So you can't have them come here and think you're
- 5:09Speaker 2: working in this dumpy building. So that's why he did that.
- 5:11Speaker 2: It makes sense. But there's been a side effect to
- 5:16Speaker 2: this psychologically. You know, people always thought of him as just,
- 5:20Speaker 2: you know, kind of the blue collar billionaire. You know,
- 5:23Speaker 2: you remember him on the garbage truck during the campaign,
- 5:25Speaker 2: remember him working in McDonald's. Even the rallies, they were
- 5:28Speaker 2: always in a blue collar sort of aerials areas. You know,
- 5:31Speaker 2: they're at in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania. They're
- 5:34Speaker 2: in Wildwood, New Jersey. They weren't in fancy places, so
- 5:39Speaker 2: he looked like a real man of the people in
- 5:41Speaker 2: those settings. But now all you see is him in
- 5:43Speaker 2: this gold Oliver or Nate gold Oval office. It makes
- 5:48Speaker 2: him look it's king like the setting. So they decided
- 5:51Speaker 2: he'd better get back on the campaign trail. People better
- 5:53Speaker 2: see him back in these regular settings, blue collar settings,
- 5:56Speaker 2: you know, out there with the people. So he goes
- 5:59Speaker 2: to the Poken around six o'clock tonight, he'll make a
- 6:02Speaker 2: speech there, casinos there. I so imagine it's going to
- 6:06Speaker 2: also focus on no tax on tips, which will make
- 6:09Speaker 2: a huge difference for a lot of people. So that's
- 6:13Speaker 2: tonight he'll you'll see more of that coming up. Pete
- 6:16Speaker 2: hag Ziff, I think that's I think they're starting to
- 6:18Speaker 2: figure out that's going nowhere. I think they're starting to
- 6:21Speaker 2: realize it's not going to work. It's not going any place.
- 6:24Speaker 2: You can look at the you know, they keep fighting
- 6:28Speaker 2: to release the video. It seems like the Epstein files.
- 6:30Speaker 2: There's always something the Trump administers holds back just to
- 6:34Speaker 2: taunt these people. You know, it's like a little baby
- 6:36Speaker 2: hold something in front of him and as he reaches,
- 6:38Speaker 2: you pull it away. It's what they're doing to the
- 6:40Speaker 2: Democratic Party. They chase this Epstein files. There's nothing in
- 6:42Speaker 2: these Epstein files that you don't already know. And the
- 6:46Speaker 2: same thing with this video. There's nothing in the video
- 6:48Speaker 2: you don't already know. And the problem is, if you
- 6:51Speaker 2: look at the video, Democrats look ridiculous with their fishing boat.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Theory fishing boat. I'm looking at the video. This boat
- 6:59Speaker 2: has four of the most powerful outboard motors on the
- 7:02Speaker 2: back of it, and those four would cost about one
- 7:05Speaker 2: hundred and eighty thousand dollars. And when you see the
- 7:09Speaker 2: video with the four outboards, super high powered outboards going,
- 7:12Speaker 2: this boat is going like one hundred and eighty miles
- 7:15Speaker 2: through the water in the middle of the night. That's
- 7:17Speaker 2: not a fishing boat. No fishing boat needs to go
- 7:19Speaker 2: one hundred eighty miles an hour. It just looks ridiculous.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It's clearly a drug boat. So they'll fight for these videos.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Eventually they'll get released, and then the Democrats will look stupid.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And I think they realized the hecsis stuff. They've tried it.
- 7:32Speaker 2: It's not going to work. It's going nowhere. They keep
- 7:34Speaker 2: asking Trump whatever hecks wants to do. Is okay with
- 7:37Speaker 2: He now says it's under review.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Are you ordering the secretary to release that full video?
- 7:41Speaker 4: Whatever he decides's okay with me. So every boat we
- 7:45Speaker 4: knock out of the water, every boat we saved twenty
- 7:47Speaker 4: five thousand American lives. That was a boat loaded up
- 7:51Speaker 4: with drugs. I saw the video. They were trying to
- 7:54Speaker 4: turn the boat back to where it could float, and
- 7:58Speaker 4: we didn't want to see that.
- 7:59Speaker 2: No, I remember everything they accused Trump of, every horrible,
- 8:02Speaker 2: awful scandal thing they find. It's common practice for every president.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Obama was blowing up people all over the world with
- 8:09Speaker 2: his drones and in the process killed a lot of
- 8:12Speaker 2: innocent civilians. If you go to my Twitter, you will
- 8:17Speaker 2: find video up there today. It's Obama making a speech.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Apparently it was slict a little flack about all the
- 8:23Speaker 2: civilians he was blowing up while going after Narco terrorists.
- 8:27Speaker 2: He was, you know, you can't help it, You're gonna
- 8:30Speaker 2: hit some civilians. Remember once even bombed a wedding. So
- 8:34Speaker 2: it's a video of Obama saying, look, it's terrible that
- 8:38Speaker 2: civilians are getting killed during these bombings. He said, something
- 8:41Speaker 2: will haunt us for the rest of our lives. But
- 8:42Speaker 2: it has to be done because we're saving millions of
- 8:46Speaker 2: lives by and if we have to lose a few
- 8:48Speaker 2: citizens in the process, it's going to have So now
- 8:51Speaker 2: this is Obama. Remember he said Democrat, So this was
- 8:54Speaker 2: considered very noble of him. He was so noble to
- 8:57Speaker 2: say this. Now Trump does exactly the same thing. He's
- 9:00Speaker 2: a war criminal, He's a Nazi. He's this that. Hey,
- 9:04Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman announced he was on Fox and Friends. It
- 9:09Speaker 2: was said that he would announced today. He should have
- 9:11Speaker 2: known that he's going on Fox and Friends, that he
- 9:13Speaker 2: would do it there. I think he surprised everybody. We're
- 9:15Speaker 2: expecting an announcement later today, but this morning on Fox
- 9:19Speaker 2: and Friends, the biggest most watched morning show, Blakeman announced.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I'm very honored and proud that I'm going to be
- 9:25Speaker 3: on Fox and Friends with you right now to announce
- 9:28Speaker 3: that I'm running for governor of the state of New York.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I'm seeking the Republican and Conservative nominations. We want to
- 9:34Speaker 3: put New York first. We want to make it more affordable,
- 9:36Speaker 3: we want to make New York safer, and we want
- 9:38Speaker 3: to make people in New York happy again.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Now, Blakeman is the greatest county executive in America by far.
- 9:45Speaker 2: County executive is like a governor. He's the governor of
- 9:48Speaker 2: the county, so he's obviously extremely qualified to be governor.
- 9:53Speaker 2: He'll do a phenomenal job. He's proven that in the
- 9:55Speaker 2: last four years. All he's got to do is the
- 9:56Speaker 2: same exact thing for the whole state. And that's what
- 9:59Speaker 2: he was talking about. We're going to win.
- 10:01Speaker 3: We're gonna win because in Nassau County, which is a
- 10:04Speaker 3: mirror image of New York State, the demographics are.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Almost the same.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I got almost a third of the African American vote,
- 10:11Speaker 3: when most Republicans only get like nine percent. I got
- 10:14Speaker 3: fifty six percent of the Hispanic American votes. I got
- 10:16Speaker 3: independent women, I've got independent men, crossover democrats. We won
- 10:20Speaker 3: by thirty six thousand votes in a county with one
- 10:23Speaker 3: hundred and ten thousand more Democrats.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Now people will sit well, at least the phonic
- 10:27Speaker 2: you knows, great, at least the funds. She's a fighter's yeah, yah,
- 10:31Speaker 2: she is. But Blakeman has a track record of actual,
- 10:34Speaker 2: real accomplishment as a governor of Nassau County. Real accomplishment.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I'm ready for the fight, and I'm going to fight
- 10:40Speaker 3: for New Yorkers. I'm going to make sure that we
- 10:42Speaker 3: do have economic prosperity. I'm fighting for your children and
- 10:45Speaker 3: your grandchildren so that they have a bright future. We're
- 10:48Speaker 3: going to create prosperity. We're going to make New York safer.
- 10:51Speaker 3: We're going to make it the Empire state again.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I was watching. He was on a bunch of
- 10:56Speaker 2: TV shows this morning. One of these shows they thought
- 10:57Speaker 2: they had him. You know, you sailed to fix the state.
- 11:01Speaker 2: You'll do better than care. What would you do that?
- 11:03Speaker 2: Kathy Hokal hasn't done name one thing. Well, he rattled
- 11:05Speaker 2: up like twelve right away that were all great, I'll
- 11:08Speaker 2: get rid of the no bail, no jail, I'll do this.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I'll do that. Now what does Trump do? President Trump
- 11:14Speaker 2: has been backing a last staphonic for this. But he
- 11:18Speaker 2: loves Bruce Blakeman, and well he's asked about it.
- 11:23Speaker 5: At least is among those who is running for near governor.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Bruce Blakeman, who you also know, are you planning on
- 11:33Speaker 6: making any endorsements.
- 11:36Speaker 4: He's great and she's great.
- 11:37Speaker 2: They're both great people.
- 11:38Speaker 4: We have a lot of great people at the Republican Party.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Now Trump loves them both, but he's known Blakeman
- 11:44Speaker 2: a lot longer. And let's put it this way. If
- 11:48Speaker 2: he didn't know these two people, if he had no
- 11:49Speaker 2: idea who they were, and Trump was the CEO and
- 11:53Speaker 2: had to hire somebody to run New York and he
- 11:57Speaker 2: brought these two strangers, and he would go with Blakeman.
- 12:00Speaker 2: He would look at their records and say, well, they're
- 12:01Speaker 2: both good. But you're a legislator, and you are brilliant
- 12:05Speaker 2: at the legislating and at hearings in the Congress. You're great.
- 12:10Speaker 2: But Blakeman is a manager, he's a governor, and he's
- 12:14Speaker 2: got a track record. He's got the experience doing exactly
- 12:17Speaker 2: the stuff this job needs. You don't at least defined.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So that's I don't know what he does. Because the
- 12:24Speaker 2: other problem is they've promised at least deefonic all sorts
- 12:27Speaker 2: of stuff over the last year. You know, do this,
- 12:29Speaker 2: do that, and we'll you know, we'll So he's got
- 12:31Speaker 2: a problem there, but Trump will figure it out, and
- 12:34Speaker 2: I would assume in the end he's going to back
- 12:38Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman. So anyway, we'll get back to that now.
- 12:42Speaker 2: The other thing is the Republican Party. There's a New
- 12:44Speaker 2: York Republican Party. They say, well, it's at least dephonic,
- 12:47Speaker 2: we're not having a primary. But this Republican Party, they're
- 12:51Speaker 2: very nice people in New York. But the party is
- 12:53Speaker 2: like a little tiny thing with three people in it,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and they don't raise much money and they're not much
- 12:58Speaker 2: of a force New York at all, as you saw
- 13:01Speaker 2: in the mayoral race. They're not much of a force.
- 13:03Speaker 2: So Blakeman has a Republican Party in Nasau County that's
- 13:06Speaker 2: actually raised more money than the state Republican Party, that's
- 13:10Speaker 2: probably more powerful. So that's going to count for a lot.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Uh ooh. Jimmy Kimmel, Now this is supposed to make
- 13:19Speaker 2: him look good. You know, there was tremendous controversy. He
- 13:23Speaker 2: was suspended, he was going to get fired. They were
- 13:25Speaker 2: getting rid of them. They were going to fire him.
- 13:27Speaker 2: They didn't fire him, They kept them. ABC brought him back.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Everything's great, you're back. Well, this the whole idea of
- 13:37Speaker 2: this thing now was to make it look like Jimmy
- 13:39Speaker 2: Kimmel is all set. You're going to see the headlines
- 13:44Speaker 2: all over the fake news late night host Jimmy Kimmel
- 13:47Speaker 2: has been re signed signs a big new contract with
- 13:50Speaker 2: ABC to continue as the late night host. Now you're thinking, wow,
- 13:57Speaker 2: everything's great, they re signed him. Not really, not really,
- 14:01Speaker 2: This is one of the greatest hoaxes ever. Fake News
- 14:05Speaker 2: not reporting this. They signed them to the most insulting
- 14:09Speaker 2: contract in the history of late night. Nobody has ever
- 14:14Speaker 2: been insulted like this in late night TV. When you
- 14:16Speaker 2: sign a contract, a television contract, it's always five years.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It's a five year contract. If sometimes it's ten years,
- 14:23Speaker 2: like in the case of Oprah, it would be a
- 14:25Speaker 2: ten year deal. When you're really big and established for
- 14:27Speaker 2: years like Regis would get like a ten year deal,
- 14:30Speaker 2: but it's always a five year deal. Network always wants that.
- 14:34Speaker 2: It protects them too, because if you get you know,
- 14:36Speaker 2: when you're really big, well for five years, you got
- 14:38Speaker 2: your salary locked in. You won't be able to hold
- 14:41Speaker 2: them up up for more money. They just resigned Kimmel
- 14:45Speaker 2: to a one year extension. It's not a new contract,
- 14:49Speaker 2: it's a one year extension. That is the most insulting
- 14:52Speaker 2: thing you can do to somebody. It's really insulting. Nobody
- 14:57Speaker 2: has ever had this happen in late night it's always
- 14:59Speaker 2: a five year contract. Now, once in a while, you
- 15:01Speaker 2: get a host who doesn't want five years, he'll beg
- 15:03Speaker 2: for a three year contract. That way, he's got a
- 15:06Speaker 2: little flexibility. But the only other time this ever happened
- 15:10Speaker 2: in the history of late night TV was Johnny Carson,
- 15:13Speaker 2: and it's the reason he left the Tonight Show. He
- 15:16Speaker 2: was so insulted by it he left the Tonight Show.
- 15:18Speaker 2: It was nineteen ninety one. Carson every five years would
- 15:23Speaker 2: sign a new contract, and it was a ritual. Every
- 15:27Speaker 2: five years, he and his manager, Ed hook Stratton, his agent,
- 15:31Speaker 2: would go to a nice restaurant in Beverly Hills called
- 15:34Speaker 2: the Grill, which was a big business lunch kind of place.
- 15:38Speaker 2: They would go to the Grill, Hook Stratton and Carson
- 15:41Speaker 2: and have lunch with the NBC executives who would bring
- 15:43Speaker 2: the new five year contract. They would sign it, have
- 15:46Speaker 2: a cordial lunch, and that was it. And that's all
- 15:49Speaker 2: he had to do with NBC every five years. Well,
- 15:52Speaker 2: in ninety one, they went to the lunch to sign
- 15:54Speaker 2: the new five year contract and the NBC executive said, Shannie,
- 16:01Speaker 2: what would you think of a one year contract, and Carson,
- 16:05Speaker 2: with decades of experience in show business, knew exactly what
- 16:09Speaker 2: that meant, and he calculated real fast in his head
- 16:12Speaker 2: that this was the biggest insult. They were trying to
- 16:15Speaker 2: push him out, which is actually kind of what they
- 16:17Speaker 2: were So, without blinking, without hesitating, he said, well, to
- 16:22Speaker 2: tell you the truth, we actually came here to tell
- 16:24Speaker 2: you I'm resigning. I'm leaving the Tonight Show. Hookstratton stunned,
- 16:28Speaker 2: but he played along quickly. He goes, yes, that's why
- 16:30Speaker 2: we are here to tell you we're leaving, which really
- 16:33Speaker 2: shook up the NBC executive. But Carson said, yeah, that's it.
- 16:36Speaker 2: We decided this, and we came here to tell you
- 16:38Speaker 2: I'm going to leave the Tonight Show. If you want
- 16:40Speaker 2: me to do this final year, we'll do one final year.
- 16:43Speaker 2: But he left because there was nothing more insulting than
- 16:47Speaker 2: a one year extension instead of a real contract. So
- 16:50Speaker 2: Kimmel has received the biggest insult you can receive. Carson
- 16:54Speaker 2: quit over it. Kimmel will not have the courage or
- 16:58Speaker 2: the principle it over it. So but it is insulting. Anyway,
- 17:02Speaker 2: we got a lot to get to today. We'll take
- 17:04Speaker 2: some calls in a moment. Eight hundred three two one
- 17:07Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two

- 17:33Speaker 2: We have all sorts of listeners, but we believe or not,
- 17:35Speaker 2: we have the highest per capita income audience. We have
- 17:39Speaker 2: the highest. There's a thing called the c Suite index.
- 17:43Speaker 2: CEOs who listen normals one hundred, ours is two seventy two.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Like more CEO types in this audience. You even listen
- 17:50Speaker 2: to the commercials you just heard. P PAC Private might
- 17:55Speaker 2: not be a familiarime. That's the most prestigious, finest private
- 17:58Speaker 2: bank in America for the biggest, smartest money guys in America.

- 18:18Speaker 2: and they do this auction. They have all kinds of
- 18:20Speaker 2: rare auction prizes. Well one of them, if you win,
- 18:23Speaker 2: is a chance to come here to iHeart to WR
- 18:27Speaker 2: You can sit in the studio, you can spend an
- 18:28Speaker 2: hour here. You can even go on the air if
- 18:30Speaker 2: you want to talk about whatever cause or business you have.
- 18:33Speaker 2: And we've had people do that and had great success
- 18:36Speaker 2: with it. But we want to raise a lot of money.
- 18:38Speaker 2: We usuldly get a few thousand for this meet and
- 18:41Speaker 2: great hour. You've not only come here, I mean just

- 18:47Speaker 2: enough to justify. But you'll get to We'll take you

- 19:15Speaker 2: bid on the auction item, just go to hunger thon
- 19:18Speaker 2: dot org slash iHeart hunger thon dot org slash iHeart Hey. Hey,
- 19:25Speaker 2: let's take some calls. Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim,
- 19:27Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 19:29Speaker 6: I was watching the movie Channel the other night. You
- 19:32Speaker 6: know that an actress who was nominated for Best Supporting
- 19:35Speaker 6: Actress eighty years ago is still alive.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Let me guess.
- 19:42Speaker 6: I'll give you the movie. You what the movie?
- 19:44Speaker 2: I can't guess. Go ahead, tell me.
- 19:46Speaker 6: Great and Blythe for Mildred Pierce. She was good in
- 19:50Speaker 6: the thing. She's ninety seven two more Mark all right.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Now for the younger people out there, they don't know
- 19:55Speaker 2: Mildred Pierce. It was a great movie with Joan Crawford,
- 19:57Speaker 2: but they remember and Blythe because she did the host
- 20:00Speaker 2: this Twinkies commercials in the seventies.
- 20:03Speaker 6: Well another one, Mark two more. The other one is
- 20:06Speaker 6: she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in nineteen fifty two,
- 20:09Speaker 6: and she's still alive and she didn't win it in
- 20:12Speaker 6: nineteen seventy five. Her name is Lee Grant. She just
- 20:14Speaker 6: turned one hundred.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Oh that's right, I knew Lee Grant. When she was
- 20:18Speaker 2: let's say twenty years ago. She've been in Josh, you've
- 20:20Speaker 2: been in eighty.
- 20:21Speaker 6: Then she won first for Shampoo in nineteen seventy five
- 20:26Speaker 6: and the last one as.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Le Grant did an incredible appearance in the second Colombo
- 20:32Speaker 2: episode the Columbo movie. Yes, she did the Ransom for
- 20:35Speaker 2: a Dead Man. She there's phenomenal in it.
- 20:37Speaker 6: Very very good. Last one Mark nineteen fifty four, and
- 20:41Speaker 6: she won for on the Waterfront eight. What's your name again?
- 20:45Speaker 6: Ava Maurice Saint. She's still alive. She's one hundred and one,
- 20:48Speaker 6: so wow, thanks Mark, Merry Christmas to you.
- 20:50Speaker 2: All right, great call Eva Marie Saints. She was in
- 20:52Speaker 2: north By Northwest with Carrie Grant. Wow, still alive, one
- 20:57Speaker 2: hundred and one. Yeah. Lee Grant is in And before
- 21:01Speaker 2: Colombo became a series, they did a movie. It was
- 21:05Speaker 2: made for TV movie that didn't take off as a
- 21:08Speaker 2: serious so two years later they did a second movie.
- 21:11Speaker 2: This time it started Lee Grant, who was one of
- 21:13Speaker 2: the best Colombo villains because there's a great scene where
- 21:16Speaker 2: she just looks at him and she said, you know, Colombo,
- 21:19Speaker 2: you're almost likable in a shabby sort of way. He
- 21:23Speaker 2: goes you Les, you say, saunter her in here with
- 21:27Speaker 2: your shop worn bag of tricks. It's a great speech.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Let's go to Alan yonkers Al. How you doing good? Mark?
- 21:36Speaker 8: Nice speaking to you, Mark. You know I wanted to say,
- 21:38Speaker 8: like yourself, I think Bruce Blakeman is a great county executive.
- 21:42Speaker 8: When he won three four years ago, he was an upset.
- 21:47Speaker 8: He wasn't supposed to win. The only thing is I
- 21:50Speaker 8: don't know. I'm going to vote for him if he runs,
- 21:53Speaker 8: if you know, if he goes to that Pye mariy.
- 21:56Speaker 8: I just don't know if it's detrimental that he represents
- 22:00Speaker 8: such a wealthy county.
- 22:04Speaker 2: It's like any other county. There's very very poor areas,
- 22:07Speaker 2: there's wealthy areas. It's quite a mixture. In Nasau County.
- 22:10Speaker 2: It's just like Rick State. You know, you said Garden City, right,
- 22:13Speaker 2: you say that's wealthy. Okay, two feet out of Garden
- 22:17Speaker 2: City in Hempstead and it's not so wealthy. I mean,
- 22:20Speaker 2: it's a it's a perfect blend of every income level
- 22:24Speaker 2: in Nassau County.
- 22:26Speaker 8: No, I agree with you, and I just told he
- 22:27Speaker 8: was able to get that upstate Republican vote. You need
- 22:31Speaker 8: that like Governor Pataki to get over the top.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Well, he'll do pretty well. Bruce Blakeman's for you know,
- 22:36Speaker 2: we'll ask, We'll ask Nasau County resident Bill O'Reilly next
- 22:40Speaker 2: on seven to ten w R now more Marximon on
- 22:45Speaker 2: seven ten or well on the number one TV A decades.
- 22:50Speaker 2: The number one best selling non fiction author on Earth,
- 22:54Speaker 2: Bill O'Reilly yet his latest book, Confronting Evil. Actually, if
- 22:58Speaker 2: you want to do some great Christmas shopping all of
- 23:00Speaker 2: his books, there's great deals. Just go to Bill O'Reilly
- 23:02Speaker 2: dot com. You get the TV show there. Also, his
- 23:05Speaker 2: YouTube channel has great stuff on it. Bill O'Reilly dot com.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Bill O'Reilly, How you doing.
- 23:12Speaker 7: I'm cold? Uh oh breezy here in the Big Apple correct.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, those people in Florida they don't appreciate
- 23:22Speaker 2: any sunshine because they have it all year. Winter makes
- 23:25Speaker 2: us appreciate everything and it's beautiful.
- 23:28Speaker 7: So I like, you know, the change of weather. If
- 23:33Speaker 7: you go to Florida, it's either going to be hot
- 23:35Speaker 7: and humid or rainy.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Hey, you're a Nassau County resident. What do you think
- 23:41Speaker 2: of Bruce Blakeman running for governor?
- 23:44Speaker 7: Long shot? Done a nice job with the county, no
- 23:48Speaker 7: doubt about that. Organized county law enforcement's excellent here. He's
- 23:55Speaker 7: kept taxes, hasn't dropped them, but no expansion of them.
- 24:01Speaker 7: So that helps retirees and people with property tax situations.
- 24:08Speaker 7: So he's got a record to run on, no question.
- 24:13Speaker 7: Tough because he tied into Trump and New York State
- 24:17Speaker 7: is not, you know, friendly to the President at this point.
- 24:22Speaker 7: But look, I applaud anybody who wants to improve the
- 24:27Speaker 7: situations of Americans. So we're going to watch it closely.
- 24:32Speaker 7: It's gonna be interesting with Stephanic because she'll run two
- 24:37Speaker 7: I hope they don't carve each other up.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, President Trump's going back into campaign mode. He's
- 24:43Speaker 2: going to the Poconos today. Now, you met with him
- 24:45Speaker 2: last week. Did you tell him he should get back
- 24:47Speaker 2: into Yeah, I did, Yeah, tell us about that.
- 24:51Speaker 7: It wasn't an extensive it was Look, he was mad
- 24:54Speaker 7: at me for analyzing the price situation in America, and
- 25:00Speaker 7: I looked at him and said, listen, my job is
- 25:02Speaker 7: to tell the truth, not to root for any political
- 25:06Speaker 7: party or ideology. And I've done that for fifty years
- 25:09Speaker 7: and that's why I'm successful. There is an audience that
- 25:14Speaker 7: all I want to hear is what they believe. I
- 25:16Speaker 7: understand that, but I've never done that ever in a
- 25:19Speaker 7: million years would I do it. So the deficit that
- 25:24Speaker 7: President Trump has now is that the perception is the
- 25:30Speaker 7: country is too expensive. And he has been through this
- 25:33Speaker 7: before in seventeen when the Republicans got waxed in the midterms.
- 25:39Speaker 7: So all I said was on the air and off
- 25:42Speaker 7: the air. The Trump administration has got to be very
- 25:47Speaker 7: specific in how it is going to try to bring
- 25:51Speaker 7: prices down. That's it. And I reiterated that I'm looking
- 25:57Speaker 7: out for him by telling him that because that is
- 26:00Speaker 7: the over arch big issue. Nothing else is going to matter.
- 26:05Speaker 7: Immigration's under control. That is what is going to make
- 26:09Speaker 7: or break the midterms next year.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, he redid the Oval Office with the gold
- 26:14Speaker 2: and I understand why he did. It's a great thing.
- 26:16Speaker 2: But when people see him in this ornate, sparkling gold,
- 26:20Speaker 2: it makes him look very elite. It was better when
- 26:22Speaker 2: they saw him on the garbage truck or in McDonald's.
- 26:24Speaker 2: So does he realize he should?
- 26:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know. I mean, look, stunts are stunts.
- 26:30Speaker 7: He did the redesign of the White House and it's magnificent.
- 26:34Speaker 7: I have to say, I'll be going there for twenty
- 26:36Speaker 7: five years. Best I've ever seen it was last Wednesday,
- 26:40Speaker 7: and at Christmas decorations were great. But he was to
- 26:43Speaker 7: send a message that we are the top of the chart,
- 26:47Speaker 7: that everything that we have is excellent, if you want
- 26:51Speaker 7: to use that word. And you walk into the White House,
- 26:54Speaker 7: it's stunning. It's so clean, everything sparkles. The improvements that
- 26:59Speaker 7: he may putting up. The presidential portraits in the Rose
- 27:03Speaker 7: Garden area are terrific. So I understand the psychology. And
- 27:11Speaker 7: you walk into anybody's house, if it's overwhelmingly nice, you're impressed.
- 27:17Speaker 7: And it's also a power signal that we are, you know,
- 27:21Speaker 7: a very prosperous nation. And now you're in the big time.
- 27:26Speaker 7: You go to Yankee Stadium, you're in the big time.
- 27:30Speaker 7: You go to Sacramento Stadium, you're not. Okay, that's as
- 27:35Speaker 7: clear as I can make it.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, Bill, O'Reilly. This Minnesota fraud billions literally billions missing.
- 27:45Speaker 2: If you want to see how faked the fake news is.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Where's the investigation on this? Why aren't they looking into this?
- 27:52Speaker 7: Well? The irony of this whole thing is that what
- 27:57Speaker 7: President Trump said in the beginning of the immigration controversy,
- 28:01Speaker 7: is all coming true. He and this is harsh. He said,
- 28:06Speaker 7: there are certain people who come here that hurt the country,
- 28:11Speaker 7: and why should we let them in? Why should they
- 28:13Speaker 7: stay if they're hurting the country. So Somalia, if you
- 28:17Speaker 7: don't understand, the country is really not a country. It's
- 28:21Speaker 7: run by tribes, it's run by terrorists. And we accepted
- 28:24Speaker 7: millions of Somalis the United States to give them freedom
- 28:29Speaker 7: and a chance of a good life. And they turn
- 28:31Speaker 7: around and it's all Somali in Minnesota and steal a
- 28:36Speaker 7: billion dollars. So I'd be a little cranky too if
- 28:41Speaker 7: why we're the president. Yet when he calls him out
- 28:45Speaker 7: on it, he's a racist. That's how the president spends it.
- 28:50Speaker 7: Because Somalis are black. No, he's telling the truth. Truth
- 28:55Speaker 7: is harsh. As Jack Nicholson once said, you can't handle truth, Okay,
- 29:02Speaker 7: So to me, I want this kind of exposure. And
- 29:06Speaker 7: here's the kicker, this fraud, massive fraud. A billion dollars
- 29:11Speaker 7: in a state of only six million people, that's all.
- 29:14Speaker 7: There are more people, okay, in New York City than
- 29:20Speaker 7: in the entire state of Minnesota. Wow, Okay, so who
- 29:26Speaker 7: broke the story. Colonel is from the Manhattan Institute, not
- 29:30Speaker 7: Wall's the governor, not the attorney general. They wouldn't let
- 29:36Speaker 7: it go on forever. They weren't even looking. And don't
- 29:40Speaker 7: tell me they didn't. No, come on, So Minnesota is
- 29:46Speaker 7: the second most generous, if you want to use that word.
- 29:51Speaker 7: With our money, simone's money, in O'Reilly's money, our money,
- 29:57Speaker 7: tax money goes to Minnesota, where more than half the
- 30:02Speaker 7: population is on with some kind of welfare. There's second
- 30:07Speaker 7: in the in the country on welfare payments, behind Massachusetts,
- 30:11Speaker 7: even more than in New York City in California. It's insane,
- 30:16Speaker 7: but this is the system. They want government dependence, and
- 30:20Speaker 7: that's what Minnesota hats.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Wow, nateware just about out a time, Bill O'Reilly. Somebody
- 30:26Speaker 2: wants to do their Christmas shopping. You got your books
- 30:30Speaker 2: are the huge bestsellers, great gifts. What can they get
- 30:33Speaker 2: at Bill oreilly dot com?
- 30:35Speaker 7: Well I did this for a reason. You know. We
- 30:40Speaker 7: use the money that we get in the Bill O'Reilly
- 30:43Speaker 7: dot com Christmas store to get bonuses to my staff.
- 30:46Speaker 7: All right, yeah, and we keep the prices artificially low.
- 30:51Speaker 7: I think We're the only corporation in America that does that,
- 30:56Speaker 7: because most of my viewers and listeners are working people.
- 31:03Speaker 7: So I put together a bundle of fifteen books thirteen Killing,
- 31:07Speaker 7: two Confronting for a very low price. You buy fifteen books,
- 31:12Speaker 7: you got fifteen gifts. All right, all right, just do
- 31:15Speaker 7: the math. You're saving hundreds of bucks. I appreciate you
- 31:20Speaker 7: mentioning them, Mark, Thank you.
- 31:21Speaker 2: So these books are like the Costco hot dog, which
- 31:24Speaker 2: is the finest hot dog in America. Costco takes a
- 31:26Speaker 2: loss on it because it gets people in the store and.
- 31:29Speaker 7: Something like that. But I already have millions of people
- 31:33Speaker 7: in the door. I don't need any more in the door.
- 31:35Speaker 7: I'd love to have them, but that's not where we are.
- 31:39Speaker 7: But when the people spend money on Bill o'reiley dockround,
- 31:42Speaker 7: the money goes to my employees, and they're well paid anyway.
- 31:47Speaker 7: But you know, these are younger people. They're trying to
- 31:49Speaker 7: amass some money to buy a home and things like that.
- 31:52Speaker 7: So that's how I designed the thing. I got enough money,
- 31:56Speaker 7: and I'm not a money guy anyway, you know me.
- 31:58Speaker 7: I'm not stritting around Ferrari and all lad I don't
- 32:02Speaker 7: care about any of that.
- 32:03Speaker 2: No, it's a Lamborghini, but that's okay.
- 32:05Speaker 7: No Lamborghini, but footy years ago. Now I don't. I
- 32:10Speaker 7: have a ten year old catalanc That's what I drive.
- 32:15Speaker 7: It's the best car in the road.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it's good. You do a lot of you're
- 32:19Speaker 2: also very generous charities all that stuff.
- 32:21Speaker 9: But thank you.
- 32:22Speaker 2: If you want to do your Christmas shopping, go to
- 32:24Speaker 2: Bill Oreilly dot com. Fifteen books for a great price.
- 32:27Speaker 2: It's they're all great bestsellers. And of course the TV
- 32:30Speaker 2: show everything's at Billoreilly dot com. Bill O'Reilly, thanks for
- 32:33Speaker 2: being with us.
- 32:34Speaker 7: All right, Mark, thanks for having me, and I appreciate it.
- 32:36Speaker 2: All right, take care, Hey, don't forget tonight. We got
- 32:39Speaker 2: a great new show every night at nine o'clock, Jimmy
- 32:42Speaker 2: Fayala every night at nine right here on seven to
- 32:44Speaker 2: ten wor seven ten wrs. Mark Simon, Hey, a lot
- 32:52Speaker 2: to get to the next hour. Big shake up coming
- 32:54Speaker 2: at CBS News and uh oh, who's gonna end up
- 32:58Speaker 2: buying Warner Brothers. We'll get all of that just ahead,
- 33:01Speaker 2: and Jake Tapper going nuts, and a whole lot more
- 33:04Speaker 2: coming up in the next hour. Remember I'm here every
- 33:06Speaker 2: day ten to noon, or listen anytime. You can get
- 33:09Speaker 2: the podcast back right after the news on seven ten WR.
- 33:15Speaker 7: Mark Simone on sevent ten WR.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Well, another freezing cold data today. It's just I like
- 33:25Speaker 2: to walk outside. I like to walk for miles outside.
- 33:29Speaker 2: But it was not easy yesterday or today. You can
- 33:34Speaker 2: hear now. It's good. You get used to it. It's
- 33:36Speaker 2: a fun walking out there in the cold. Your nose
- 33:38Speaker 2: goes crazy and you can't take anywhere. And I saw
- 33:41Speaker 2: Sean Hannity yesterday. You know, he's in Florida now, but
- 33:44Speaker 2: he came to New York and they get that Florida look.
- 33:48Speaker 2: He's got that Florida look, which like the perfect sun
- 33:51Speaker 2: tan and you know the peop they look more relaxed.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I guess that's good. I don't know. I don't want
- 33:59Speaker 2: the perfect sun. I don't want to look that relaxed.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I like to have that New York you know, that
- 34:05Speaker 2: freezing cold face, and yeah, all riled up, kind of
- 34:10Speaker 2: New York attitude. But he looked great, and of course
- 34:14Speaker 2: you can hear him here today three to six on
- 34:17Speaker 2: w R. Let's see now in Chicago, they got snow
- 34:23Speaker 2: and everything, so ICE agents were there going after a
- 34:28Speaker 2: dangerous criminal who's an illegal alien. He got in under
- 34:31Speaker 2: Biden and he was, in fact in the Biden reministration.
- 34:35Speaker 2: They actually did have this guy was so bad and
- 34:37Speaker 2: such a criminal. They did arrest him at the border
- 34:39Speaker 2: and he had entered the country illegally. This is twenty
- 34:42Speaker 2: twenty three in the Biden years. But the Biden deministration
- 34:45Speaker 2: released him. They released them. They even granted him temporary
- 34:49Speaker 2: protected status. So he's a dangerous criminal gang member. He's
- 34:54Speaker 2: from that TDA trend to AGUAD. He's a gang, I mean,
- 34:58Speaker 2: the most violent, awful gang. He's a member of the gang.
- 35:01Speaker 2: So he's in Chicago. They're there to arrest him. They
- 35:03Speaker 2: got him on a traffic stop. ICE was going to
- 35:07Speaker 2: arrest the guy at this traffic stop. So what he
- 35:10Speaker 2: did was he smashed his car into one of the
- 35:13Speaker 2: ICE agency vehicles, which made it carene into a tree.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I mean, this is like a blue Blood's chase scene.
- 35:21Speaker 2: He then fled on foot after the crash. ICE agents
- 35:26Speaker 2: chased him. He barricaded himself into a stranger's apartment. Now,
- 35:31Speaker 2: if you didn't know, I think you could tell this
- 35:33Speaker 2: as a criminal. You know, normally on a traffic stop,
- 35:35Speaker 2: you stop. This guy instead drives his car right into
- 35:39Speaker 2: their car and makes him crash into a tree. He
- 35:42Speaker 2: jumps out of his car, runs runs into a stranger's
- 35:45Speaker 2: apartment and barricades himself in there. I think you could
- 35:49Speaker 2: be pretty sure this is a criminal. So ICE is
- 35:52Speaker 2: trying to go after this guy. But it's Chicago, and
- 35:54Speaker 2: a large crowd forms outside and starts throwing things at
- 35:58Speaker 2: the ICE agents start throwing rocks, snowballs, other projectiles. Well,
- 36:05Speaker 2: but you do have the police in Chicago that says
- 36:08Speaker 2: local police refuse to assist or do anything. That's Chicago
- 36:14Speaker 2: for you. This is the Democrats of today. And you
- 36:17Speaker 2: know if that were your neighborhood, this guy's may remember
- 36:20Speaker 2: the most dangerous gang. His behavior on a traffic stop
- 36:24Speaker 2: gives you an idea what he's like. Wouldn't you want
- 36:25Speaker 2: that guy removed from your neighborhood. Would you want him
- 36:28Speaker 2: to still live around the block from you. No, But
- 36:31Speaker 2: they're fighting the ICE agents to stop them from taking
- 36:34Speaker 2: this guy away. You know President Trump got you didn't
- 36:40Speaker 2: get the Nobel Peace Prize that he's so deserved, but
- 36:42Speaker 2: he got the FIFA World Cup. FIFA Peace Prize. They
- 36:46Speaker 2: decided to award him one that's nice, not for CNN.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Jake Tapper goes on CNN yesterday attacking, viciously attacking FIFA,
- 36:56Speaker 2: calling their peace prize a joke, ridiculous, legitimate. This guy,
- 37:03Speaker 2: this Jake Tapper, who tries to occasionally pass himself off
- 37:07Speaker 2: as a journalist, tries to pretend he's doing some sort
- 37:09Speaker 2: of a news show, going into a tirade denouncing FIFA,
- 37:14Speaker 2: attacking their peace prize. What does this have to do
- 37:18Speaker 2: with doing the news on CNN. I don't know. But
- 37:21Speaker 2: CNN is part of Warner Brothers and Discovery at the
- 37:26Speaker 2: company that's going to be taken over by Netflix, but
- 37:30Speaker 2: probably not. Netflix won the bidding at almost thirty one
- 37:36Speaker 2: dollars a share, which means it would take over Warner Brothers,
- 37:40Speaker 2: which includes CNN, includes HBO, includes the biggest movie studio
- 37:43Speaker 2: in Hollywood, all sorts of stuff. But I don't think
- 37:46Speaker 2: Netflix is going to end up with it. I think
- 37:48Speaker 2: this deal is going to fall through and paramount the
- 37:51Speaker 2: original bidder who had been too low. I think in
- 37:55Speaker 2: the end they'll end up with it. I think they'll
- 37:58Speaker 2: end up with it because Warner Bros. Might have agreed
- 38:04Speaker 2: to the Netflix takeover, might have signed off on it,
- 38:07Speaker 2: but that was the people that run it. That wasn't
- 38:10Speaker 2: the shareholders, and the shareholders are upset. They felt it
- 38:13Speaker 2: should have gotten a higher price. They still think it
- 38:15Speaker 2: should have been more like thirty five dollars this year,
- 38:18Speaker 2: not thirty. So they're pushing to have this deal undone.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Shareholders have a big say in this. President Trump has
- 38:26Speaker 2: indicated he'd rather have Paramount. He's close to friends with
- 38:29Speaker 2: the Paramount CEO. The Ellisons also friends with the Netflix.
- 38:33Speaker 2: But Netflix the bid was too low. That may have
- 38:37Speaker 2: to increase it, but it may also just go to Paramount.
- 38:39Speaker 2: They may end up taking it over. Now, how can
- 38:43Speaker 2: you do that when they already made an agreement with
- 38:44Speaker 2: the other Well, they would have to break the Netflix agreement.
- 38:48Speaker 2: And there's a penalty clause of two point eight billion.
- 38:53Speaker 2: But if Paramount agrees to pay the penalty, then that
- 38:56Speaker 2: solves that problem right there. And you're talking about a
- 38:59Speaker 2: eighty five billion deal, So two point eight billion is
- 39:02Speaker 2: just a tiny percentage. So I think they're going to
- 39:05Speaker 2: I bet your Paramount ends up with it. Now there's
- 39:08Speaker 2: all fake news is going after Paramount saying they've made
- 39:10Speaker 2: some sort of deal with Trump promised to make radical
- 39:13Speaker 2: changes at CNN. Well, first of all, CNN is a tiny,
- 39:18Speaker 2: little nothing part of this company. It's not doesn't make
- 39:21Speaker 2: any real revenue for the company. It gets no ratings,
- 39:24Speaker 2: it has no viewers. And by the way, if anybody
- 39:27Speaker 2: bought the company, the first thing you would logically do
- 39:31Speaker 2: is make radical changes at CNN. You'd look at it
- 39:33Speaker 2: and say, wait a minute, you're in last place and
- 39:35Speaker 2: you have no ratings. Of course you got to make
- 39:37Speaker 2: radical You can't do what you can't keep doing what
- 39:39Speaker 2: you're doing. You're in last place and nobody's watching. You've
- 39:42Speaker 2: got to make changes. So any logical owner would have
- 39:47Speaker 2: to have to make some changes there. Hey, over at
- 39:50Speaker 2: CBS News, they're getting rid of the anchors on the
- 39:53Speaker 2: nightly network News. It's Maurice du Bois and who's the
- 39:58Speaker 2: other guy, John Dickerson. Guys, they're very the competent, but
- 40:02Speaker 2: they're not major league anchor people. They're not you know,
- 40:06Speaker 2: Brian Williams, they're not David Muir, they're not in that league.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Maurice du Bois with the local Channel two anchor John
- 40:14Speaker 2: Dickerson is like a third string face the nation, kind
- 40:19Speaker 2: of a host. So they're gonna they've they've already picked
- 40:22Speaker 2: a guy. It's somebody from CBS News whose name I
- 40:25Speaker 2: can't remember. He's on one of they. I think he's
- 40:27Speaker 2: on the morning show. He's a very good looking anchor.
- 40:30Speaker 2: He said. I think they've decided let's copy David Mewir
- 40:34Speaker 2: because that's the number one show on television, the ABC
- 40:38Speaker 2: Evening News with David Muir, number one show in all
- 40:41Speaker 2: of television, primetime everything. Why, well, it's different from the
- 40:45Speaker 2: other evening news shows in that it's slicker. It's really
- 40:49Speaker 2: fast moving at desk keeps moving. It's not that political.
- 40:52Speaker 2: It's political, but there's a million other things. It kind
- 40:55Speaker 2: of looks like TMZ or Entertainment Tonight. It really moves.
- 40:59Speaker 2: And the anchors just a really handsome, good looking guy.
- 41:01Speaker 2: It's very you know, slick, It's much slicker. So I
- 41:05Speaker 2: think they've decided to go in that direction. So they
- 41:07Speaker 2: got a new anchor whose name I don't remember. I
- 41:10Speaker 2: could look it up, but what's the difference. You're not
- 41:12Speaker 2: gonna remember his name either, But he looks very good.
- 41:14Speaker 2: He looks like David Muir. So they'll probably get some
- 41:17Speaker 2: producers in there, could make it faster, tighter, good looking anchor.
- 41:21Speaker 2: So the little copy of David Muir. That's a good idea.
- 41:23Speaker 2: It makes sense. Barry Weiss is now running CBS News
- 41:28Speaker 2: is going to slowly but surely change everything there. They're
- 41:32Speaker 2: going to change all the sixty minutes people. She wants
- 41:34Speaker 2: to get rid of what they call the programs older correspondence.
- 41:40Speaker 2: They're all like eighty five years old, so expect them
- 41:43Speaker 2: all one by one to get taken out. Scott Pelly,
- 41:46Speaker 2: Leslie Stall, Bill Whittaker, so they'll all go. And now
- 41:53Speaker 2: she's already made a big hire ABC News Matt Gutman,
- 41:56Speaker 2: you know, the reporter Matt Gutman. She's very high on him.
- 42:00Speaker 2: She wants him to take quote a major role at CBS.
- 42:07Speaker 2: He'll be the new host of forty eight hours. Well
- 42:10Speaker 2: she hadn't said host, but she'll be the big part
- 42:12Speaker 2: of big star of forty eight hours.
- 42:14Speaker 9: Now.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Matt Gutman's reporter with a lot of experienced international correspondent,
- 42:18Speaker 2: all sorts of stuff, but his real thing is he's
- 42:20Speaker 2: a crime expert, real crime. And he hosted that podcast,
- 42:25Speaker 2: True Crime podcast that was top rated, and I think
- 42:29Speaker 2: that's what she wants for forty eight hours. You know
- 42:31Speaker 2: when it comes to all these podcasts, well, now there's
- 42:34Speaker 2: a million big podcasts, but you know, in the beginning,
- 42:37Speaker 2: the biggest podcast were those crime podcasts. Remember that's what
- 42:40Speaker 2: everybody would listen to. They would tell you, well, you
- 42:43Speaker 2: gotta listen to this. It's a ten part series about it.
- 42:45Speaker 2: I remember the killing by the River in Utah ten
- 42:49Speaker 2: years No, I don't, but they would listen to this
- 42:52Speaker 2: ten part podcast on it. So that's what this guy
- 42:54Speaker 2: specializes in. She thinks forty eight hours should be doing that.
- 42:57Speaker 2: She's probably right. So he'll be Matt Gutman of ABC
- 43:03Speaker 2: and his big, big major higher but slowly but surely,
- 43:06Speaker 2: she'll change everything over there at CBS and get rid
- 43:10Speaker 2: of all those people over there. Let's see the Ukraine.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Zelensky says he is not interested in giving up any
- 43:19Speaker 2: territory at all. Well, that throws a huge monkey wrench
- 43:21Speaker 2: into the peace talks, because that was the big part
- 43:24Speaker 2: of it. Both sides have to make some concessions. One
- 43:28Speaker 2: is Ukraine would have to concede a little territory. But uh,
- 43:34Speaker 2: he says, absolutely no. This is all probably just negotiating.
- 43:37Speaker 2: In the end, you'll have to give up something. It's
- 43:38Speaker 2: going to take longer than we thought. A lot of
- 43:40Speaker 2: people thought it might get done by the end of
- 43:41Speaker 2: the year, but that's not going to happen. Hey, Alina
- 43:45Speaker 2: Haba has to step down as the US attorney. You
- 43:48Speaker 2: know the way this works because you hear this all
- 43:51Speaker 2: the time when the fake news gets in the middle
- 43:54Speaker 2: of it because a Trump appointed judge ruled that, or
- 43:57Speaker 2: the a Trump appointed US attorney. Well, when you hear
- 44:01Speaker 2: a Trump appointed judge, it had nothing to do with Trump.
- 44:04Speaker 2: He didn't know the judge. He didn't pick the judge.
- 44:06Speaker 2: What usually happens is even with US attorneys, it's normally
- 44:10Speaker 2: the case that I mean, sometimes Trump will pick a
- 44:13Speaker 2: US attorney, you know, like the Southern District here in
- 44:15Speaker 2: New York. But most of the time when you need
- 44:17Speaker 2: to pick judges or US attorneys, the local senators, the
- 44:21Speaker 2: state senators picked the person. The two senators of the state,
- 44:25Speaker 2: they recommend them the president ninety eight percent of the time,
- 44:27Speaker 2: the President goes along with it. Very rarely do they object.
- 44:31Speaker 2: It's called a blue slip. The senators of the state
- 44:34Speaker 2: have to pick the person so they didn't pick Alina Habba.
- 44:38Speaker 2: The Senate will not confirm her. That's why it's not
- 44:41Speaker 2: going to work. And Trump talked about this dumb blue
- 44:44Speaker 2: slip thing they have. You've got a blue slip thing.
- 44:46Speaker 2: That's horrible. It's a horrible thing.
- 44:49Speaker 10: It makes it impossible to appoint the judge or a
- 44:52Speaker 10: US attorney.
- 44:54Speaker 2: And it's a shame.
- 44:55Speaker 10: And the Republicans should be ashamed of themselves that they
- 44:57Speaker 10: allowed us to go on because I can't a US
- 45:00Speaker 10: attorney that's not a Democrat.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean sometimes it makes sense because Trump would
- 45:05Speaker 2: know any of these people, and he's so far removed
- 45:07Speaker 2: from the state or whoever the president is. He's you
- 45:09Speaker 2: let the local people recommend. But it's a problem if
- 45:12Speaker 2: you got like a sleazy, slimy Chuck Schumer doing the picking.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Or look at Connecticut, you got the two dirtiest, sleaziest senators,
- 45:20Speaker 2: Chris Murphy and that lying, rotten bloomenfal Can you imagine
- 45:24Speaker 2: leaving up to them to pick a US attorney. But
- 45:27Speaker 2: that's the system.
- 45:28Speaker 4: I think I know why they did that to protect
- 45:30Speaker 4: their ass Okay, and that's why they did that, but.
- 45:35Speaker 10: It should be done away with.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I want to be able to.
- 45:37Speaker 10: Appoint great that most highly educated, the most respected people.
- 45:42Speaker 4: They can't keep that Jebs.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Yeah, No, he may be right. That's why they always
- 45:45Speaker 2: are careful who senators want to pick.
- 45:47Speaker 11: It.
- 45:47Speaker 2: They pick somebody they know who will never come after them.
- 45:50Speaker 2: And that's the idea. So fake news goes after Elena Hobbit.
- 45:53Speaker 2: This is there's no experience. He's never been a prosecutor. Never. Well,
- 45:56Speaker 2: that's pretty normal for US attorneys. Chris Christy was the
- 46:00Speaker 2: US attorney. He'd never been in the courtroom in his
- 46:03Speaker 2: life when he was appointed US attorney. Never wasn't a
- 46:07Speaker 2: prosecutor when he was appointed. He's a big, big campaign
- 46:10Speaker 2: donor in Bundler. So as a reward, they made a
- 46:12Speaker 2: US attorney with no experience as a prosecutor. Haba was
- 46:16Speaker 2: a major partner to major law firm where she did
- 46:20Speaker 2: it was civil litigation, but a lot of that was
- 46:22Speaker 2: about white collar crime, fraud, that sort of stuff. So
- 46:25Speaker 2: Haba actually qualified.
- 46:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 11: Alena Habba says she's stepping.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Down as US Attorney for the District of New Jersey
- 46:31Speaker 2: after the courts disqualified her.
- 46:33Speaker 5: Do you have any comment on that?
- 46:34Speaker 10: And she's not disqualified you've got a blue slip thing.
- 46:37Speaker 4: That's horrible.
- 46:38Speaker 2: It's a horrible thing.
- 46:39Speaker 10: It makes it impossible to appoint a judge or US attorney.
- 46:44Speaker 2: And it's a shame.
- 46:45Speaker 10: And the Republicans should be ashamed of themselves that they
- 46:48Speaker 10: allowed us to go on.
- 46:49Speaker 2: You know, fake news does that a lot if they
- 46:52Speaker 2: don't like so if they don't like Pete Heggs, if
- 46:54Speaker 2: you hear that a lot. And he was never qualified
- 46:56Speaker 2: to be Secretary of Defense. You hear these senators, these
- 46:59Speaker 2: low lifes on these talking heads. He shouldn't have been
- 47:02Speaker 2: appointed in the first place. He had no qualifications. He
- 47:05Speaker 2: has more qualifications to be Secretary of Defense than half
- 47:09Speaker 2: of the secretaries of Defense we've had. Many of them
- 47:12Speaker 2: had no experience. You know that Chuck Hagel was a
- 47:14Speaker 2: congressman all his life and less asphen He was a
- 47:18Speaker 2: college professor when he was appointed secretary to most of
- 47:22Speaker 2: these secretary defenses don't have a lot of exits. Had
- 47:25Speaker 2: a lot of military experience when he got appointed. So
- 47:31Speaker 2: Matt Lower wants to more talk about this comeback than
- 47:34Speaker 2: Matt Lower come back. Now he's apparently it's the girlfriend
- 47:38Speaker 2: pushing this. The girlfriend is also a publicist, so she
- 47:42Speaker 2: wants him to come back, and since she's a publicist,
- 47:45Speaker 2: she knows how to plant all these stories all over
- 47:47Speaker 2: the place, trying to engineer this comeback, come back for what.
- 47:50Speaker 2: I don't know what. He's going to come back to
- 47:52Speaker 2: the Today Show, I don't think so he can't take
- 47:54Speaker 2: him back there. I mean, it's a cuomo trying to
- 47:57Speaker 2: make a comeback. You left in disgrace, you left under
- 48:00Speaker 2: a cloud of terrible scandal, and in the case of
- 48:04Speaker 2: Matt Lower, it was real scandal, real sexual harassment stuff,
- 48:08Speaker 2: real problem. So who's going to bring him back? And
- 48:11Speaker 2: for what reason? You know? You know, if it's like
- 48:15Speaker 2: Lewis c k well, you know there's a the reason
- 48:21Speaker 2: to bring him back. Guy, the guy was funny. He
- 48:23Speaker 2: was really funny and a lot of stuff, had a
- 48:25Speaker 2: lot of talent. So maybe he's a question mark on
- 48:30Speaker 2: this guy, but boy was he good. Let's bring him back?
- 48:32Speaker 2: Or Kevin Spacey, you know, why would you bring this guy? Well,
- 48:35Speaker 2: because he was pretty talented. Watch him in what's the
- 48:38Speaker 2: TV show? He did House of Cards or other stuff.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Guy's really talented. No, let's maybe you've been the rule
- 48:45Speaker 2: that he'll bring him back because he's really talented. Case
- 48:47Speaker 2: of Matt Lower. You can't say he's really talented. He's
- 48:51Speaker 2: I mean, he was a pleasant guy. He was nice looking.
- 48:55Speaker 2: You know, he's older now he's not so hot looking anymore.
- 48:58Speaker 2: And he's basically he would the teleprompter. I mean, he's
- 49:02Speaker 2: not a talented guy. I mean, there's no Matt Lower
- 49:05Speaker 2: videos going viral because he was so brilliant. I mean,
- 49:08Speaker 2: to bend the rules for him, I don't think so.
- 49:12Speaker 2: I don't know. We'll take some calls in a minute.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is number. Oh,
- 49:17Speaker 2: we'll get to Frank Sinatra coming up, but we'll take
- 49:20Speaker 2: some calls. Next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Get his in access to Mark by setting a pre
- 49:28Speaker 2: set in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and
- 49:31Speaker 2: his podcast.
- 49:33Speaker 6: Now back to the Mark Simone show on wor.
- 49:38Speaker 11: Hey.
- 49:38Speaker 2: It'll take some calls. Eight hundred three to two one
- 49:42Speaker 2: zero seven ten is remember. Let's go to Joel in Florida. Joel,
- 49:45Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 49:46Speaker 5: Good morning Mark again, Good morning Vincent, Good morning Marret.
- 49:49Speaker 5: Just have a question for you Mark. Over the weekend.
- 49:52Speaker 5: Rosie o'donald while in Ireland said that he believes that
- 49:55Speaker 5: President Shrump should be taken out, and there are other
- 49:58Speaker 5: Democrats that have said the same. Given the fact that
- 50:00Speaker 5: he's going to be going back on a junket with
- 50:02Speaker 5: going to other cities or the areas. Has the Secret
- 50:05Speaker 5: Service greatly extended to be able to cover all these
- 50:09Speaker 5: visits to these various locations.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, he get Remember he was a candidate.
- 50:13Speaker 2: That was candidate level of security. Now it's presidential security.
- 50:16Speaker 2: In fact, if you watch the videos of the motorcate
- 50:19Speaker 2: even going from mar A Lago to the golf course,
- 50:22Speaker 2: it's like twenty five cars. It's amazing. It's enormous protection.
- 50:27Speaker 2: He's going to be traveling today to the Pocono's. They're
- 50:30Speaker 2: not saying how he's getting there, which means it's probably
- 50:32Speaker 2: not Air Force one. Sometimes when it's not that far,
- 50:36Speaker 2: they'll take Marine one the helicopter, so it'll be a
- 50:39Speaker 2: whole bunch of helicopters heading there. Let's go to Bob
- 50:42Speaker 2: and Bridgeport. Bob, how you doing.
- 50:45Speaker 1: I'm well, Mark a big fan, long time.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 50:48Speaker 1: In the course of your career, did you ever work
- 50:50Speaker 1: with SUPI Sales?
- 50:51Speaker 2: Yes, a million times.
- 50:54Speaker 1: He seems hilarious. I watched some of his old stuff
- 50:57Speaker 1: on YouTube. Did he just do that whole thing by himself?
- 51:02Speaker 2: Well, yeah, he was a very funny guy. He was
- 51:04Speaker 2: a regular guest on this show for years and years
- 51:07Speaker 2: and years and years. In fact, remember I used to
- 51:09Speaker 2: do that Saturday Night Oldie Show.
- 51:11Speaker 1: His final I do remember that show.
- 51:13Speaker 2: That was his final public His final public appearance was
- 51:17Speaker 2: on that show, and then we lost him. But he
- 51:20Speaker 2: was a very very funny guy. I remember he did
- 51:22Speaker 2: a radio show for years w NBC. Remember it was
- 51:27Speaker 2: I remember that Soupy from ten.
- 51:29Speaker 1: To two lunch at the Commissary.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Yeah, then it was Soupie and then Howard Stern. That
- 51:34Speaker 2: was quite a lineup back then. But he was He
- 51:36Speaker 2: was a great guy. His wife is still with us, Trudy,
- 51:38Speaker 2: who was a great dancer and performer. Anyway, yus go
- 51:42Speaker 2: to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 51:45Speaker 9: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Joe, Good morning Mark. I
- 51:49Speaker 9: loved that Saturday Night Oldie show used to do. I
- 51:53Speaker 9: would be cooking Saturday night. Didn't listen to it. I
- 51:56Speaker 9: loved it. Mark. First off, I would like to apologize
- 52:00Speaker 9: for during the course of this past years, I groused
- 52:04Speaker 9: that Trump wasn't doing enough to get rid of congestion pricing. Well,
- 52:08Speaker 9: at the end of last week in the Post, they
- 52:11Speaker 9: had a full page article detailing about Kathy Hockel's corrupt
- 52:16Speaker 9: judges are putting the kebash on the Trump administration's efforts
- 52:22Speaker 9: to roll back the congestion price and Trump said that
- 52:26Speaker 9: he's taken back to consent agreement that Joe Biden did,
- 52:31Speaker 9: and the judges saying he can't. So I apologize.
- 52:34Speaker 2: That also right now they want to leave it there
- 52:37Speaker 2: because it's going to be a factor that works against
- 52:40Speaker 2: Kathy Hochle on reelection.
- 52:41Speaker 9: Well, you saw yesterday in the papers they had this
- 52:44Speaker 9: whole article on the front page story the Post of
- 52:46Speaker 9: how certain police officers are using up official vehicles to
- 52:52Speaker 9: go through the tolls even though they're going home to
- 52:54Speaker 9: evade the tolls.
- 52:56Speaker 11: Mark.
- 52:56Speaker 9: This puts me to my next thing. Zoramandan. He was
- 53:00Speaker 9: on i think on social media or on video whatever
- 53:05Speaker 9: with this message to the illegal migrants how to avoid
- 53:09Speaker 9: ICE agents, what to do in case you're confronted by them,
- 53:13Speaker 9: and saying this is what a warrant looks like. Mark,
- 53:16Speaker 9: this is a big conflict of interest for Jessica Tish.
- 53:21Speaker 9: What is she going to do when there is a
- 53:24Speaker 9: major confrontation where police like what happened in Chinatown last week,
- 53:30Speaker 9: have to be called to help ice agents out just
- 53:34Speaker 9: to get out of the building or something where they're
- 53:36Speaker 9: being attacked by in Chicago, what is she going to do?
- 53:40Speaker 9: She's he is playing her mark. She should get out.
- 53:45Speaker 9: She should follow her brother's lead. Zora Mandani is get out.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Listen. She's not Ray Kelly. She's not the greatest police
- 53:53Speaker 2: commission the world. But she's pretty good.
- 53:55Speaker 9: I know.
- 53:56Speaker 2: If she gets out, you want Mamdani to pick a replacement.
- 54:00Speaker 9: Well, you'll watch this. But she's gonna ruin her future mark.
- 54:05Speaker 9: She already she did a bad thing. She apologized on
- 54:09Speaker 9: behalf of your brother if I ever did that.
- 54:11Speaker 2: But listen, her future is her ambitions. Every I think
- 54:14Speaker 2: she wants to be mayor. She she's not gonna be
- 54:16Speaker 2: that great a candidate. She's not exactly the most exciting
- 54:19Speaker 2: dynamic speaker in the world. And she doesn't have a
- 54:22Speaker 2: great record as police, which is a good record, but
- 54:24Speaker 2: it's not a great.
- 54:25Speaker 9: But she's she's she's doing good. But this is gonna
- 54:27Speaker 9: hurt her. You do you think a lot of Jewish
- 54:30Speaker 9: voters they're gonna see a flip flopping. What are you doing?
- 54:34Speaker 9: I mean it's like, uh, you're.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Gonna say some flip flopping. But we don't want to leave.
- 54:39Speaker 2: She's a good police commissioner and we don't want to.
- 54:41Speaker 9: Lose, all right, Mark, I'll you know, maybe you know something,
- 54:46Speaker 9: Maybe you know something.
- 54:47Speaker 2: I don't know, By the way, I just know she's
- 54:49Speaker 2: tough as a very wealthy. She doesn't need anybody's money,
- 54:52Speaker 2: so she's not going to cave into any special interests. Uh. Listen,
- 54:57Speaker 2: if if mom Donnie picks his own guy, that guy's
- 55:00Speaker 2: gonna do whatever he's told by Mom Donnie. You don't
- 55:02Speaker 2: want that, all right?
- 55:04Speaker 9: Well, I'm just talking about the appearance of conflict. By
- 55:09Speaker 9: the way, Mark, when are they going to get rid
- 55:10Speaker 9: of Andrea Mitchell at NBC?
- 55:13Speaker 11: Uh?
- 55:13Speaker 2: You know the problem is that you know she's like
- 55:16Speaker 2: ninety seven and a half. You know, Well, he's gonna
- 55:19Speaker 2: drop that in any second. I mean, why why worry
- 55:21Speaker 2: about it?
- 55:21Speaker 9: Because you were talking about them getting rid of all
- 55:24Speaker 9: the old fossils at the other.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Netwell that's CBS. Well, CBS brought in a sane person
- 55:30Speaker 2: to run.
- 55:30Speaker 9: I know, but Andrew Mitchell fits that category, doesn't she Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 2: But at MSNBC is still crazy, still nuts. Anyway, thanks
- 55:37Speaker 2: for calling, Vincent, great call. Hey. When we come back,
- 55:39Speaker 2: we'll talk about Frank Sinatra next and other matters with
- 55:42Speaker 2: the owner of Patsy's, the great landmark restaurant. Sal from
- 55:46Speaker 2: Patsy's in a moment on seven ten wor He's more
- 55:51Speaker 2: Mark's the Mark Simone Show on seven ten wor Well,
- 55:58Speaker 2: you know patsy Is the landmark restaurant fifty sixth Street
- 56:01Speaker 2: between Broadway and Eighth It was Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurant.
- 56:05Speaker 2: And there's a lot to talk about with Frank Sinatra.
- 56:07Speaker 2: It's that time of year, oh not Christmas. It's Sinatra's
- 56:11Speaker 2: birthday this week. And with us right now, the owner
- 56:14Speaker 2: of Patsy sal Skygnamillo Sal, How you doing.
- 56:18Speaker 11: Hey, Good morning, Mark, Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, buddy.
- 56:21Speaker 2: You too, Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurant. Where do we even start?
- 56:26Speaker 2: Tell us Frank Sinatra's favorite meal? What like if you
- 56:29Speaker 2: went to Patsy's and said to you make me Sinatra's
- 56:32Speaker 2: favorite meal, what would you make?
- 56:34Speaker 11: He liked it the auditchok reaganot appetizers, and then he'd
- 56:38Speaker 11: have some kind of short pasti the pen of rigatonio
- 56:41Speaker 11: sperali with the tomato basil sauce, which is onions, no garlic.
- 56:47Speaker 11: If I made a glic sauce for him, sometimes you
- 56:49Speaker 11: have the clams in the garlic sauce. It will be
- 56:51Speaker 11: the whole garlic. We brace it in the olive oil
- 56:53Speaker 11: and take it out. You see, you had the flavor
- 56:55Speaker 11: and then the edge of tomatoes and clams and white
- 56:57Speaker 11: wine and all the spices. And we love to form
- 57:00Speaker 11: the main course the veal and chicken milonnaise. It's a
- 57:03Speaker 11: scallapini beat, very fine flour, sea egg and seasoned bread
- 57:07Speaker 11: from fridaytoll Is Chris, a littill rouble at tomato salad
- 57:10Speaker 11: and most importantly red wine, vinegar, nobal sonic fan.
- 57:14Speaker 2: Well, that's a very good meal. But if you go
- 57:16Speaker 2: to Patty look at the menu, there's probably twenty five
- 57:18Speaker 2: better things to order there.
- 57:20Speaker 11: What U, that's just well, my favorite I like, I
- 57:23Speaker 11: like pasta with cheese, so my favorite is rigatoni sonino
- 57:27Speaker 11: with the tomato basil. Regard to Milton Mozela, Palmachan, all
- 57:30Speaker 11: the Pamgan's and Gueeny with the clam sauce popular anything
- 57:34Speaker 11: with fish locks the Friday Owl. I think it's spectacular,
- 57:38Speaker 11: makes a great dish and you know, just a lot
- 57:40Speaker 11: of great Southern Italian classics. The heart of the menu
- 57:43Speaker 11: the same. Only three chefs all these years was my grandfather,
- 57:46Speaker 11: squal Patsy Scott, the Millow, my dad and myself. It's
- 57:50Speaker 11: over eighty one years now and in this Friday would
- 57:53Speaker 11: have been Franks hundred and tenth birthday and we always
- 57:55Speaker 11: celebrate his birthday at the restaurant with a beautiful muncheon.
- 57:59Speaker 11: From a twelve to three. It's going to be halted
- 58:02Speaker 11: by Adriana Trigiani. She's a very samous author. She's written
- 58:06Speaker 11: I think twenty seven books. Her latest book was A
- 58:09Speaker 11: View from Lake Crmo, which we actually had the book
- 58:13Speaker 11: signing and our restaurant was just sold out, so much
- 58:15Speaker 11: sold out we added a second event and so popular,
- 58:19Speaker 11: great stuff. We're gonna have some video tributes also, you
- 58:22Speaker 11: are not in person, but video tributes who have Michael
- 58:25Speaker 11: Billblay and Robert Dobby, Steve Longame's son David, beautiful because
- 58:31Speaker 11: they love to play too, and Gene Kelly's wife, Patricia
- 58:34Speaker 11: Kelly beautiful stuff. And the latest, the real surprise guest
- 58:39Speaker 11: we just added is Frank Sinatra's granddaughter, A. J. Lambert
- 58:42Speaker 11: is going to be there, and it's just so exciting.
- 58:45Speaker 11: She's such a such a sweet woman. That's Nancy's daughter,
- 58:49Speaker 11: and we're going to be so happy. We've got Steve
- 58:51Speaker 11: Maglio who performs at the Carnegie Club the Sinatra tributes
- 58:55Speaker 11: all the time.
- 58:57Speaker 2: That, yeah, that's this Friday, Sinatra's birthday the.
- 59:01Speaker 11: Twelfth, so you can Friday is the birthday?
- 59:03Speaker 2: Can people go to this Sinatra luncheon?
- 59:05Speaker 11: Yes, we have about five seats left. They can call
- 59:08Speaker 11: the restaurant two one two two four seven three four
- 59:11Speaker 11: nine one two one two two four seven three four
- 59:15Speaker 11: nine one includes all this great entertainment and of course
- 59:19Speaker 11: h Frank's favorite meal as betweet on. Some things we've
- 59:21Speaker 11: talked about and it's gonna be a great time. We always, uh,
- 59:25Speaker 11: we always love remembering him, Hony people.
- 59:28Speaker 2: How much is it to go to this Frank Sinatra luncheon?
- 59:30Speaker 11: It's a one ninety five plus taxi.
- 59:32Speaker 2: Tip one yeah, yes, well that includes music and the
- 59:38Speaker 2: food and the whole thing.
- 59:39Speaker 11: Music, everything, the whole nine yards, and it's it always
- 59:43Speaker 11: sells out. This this year, we just had a few
- 59:45Speaker 11: few seats left. It's always so much fun and everybody
- 59:49Speaker 11: enjoys it. It's just a wonderful remembrance of such a
- 59:53Speaker 11: spectacular man. And I know how much you loved him
- 59:56Speaker 11: and how much you know about him. You're definitely an
- 59:59Speaker 11: encyclopedia Frank Sinatra. But you just take a look at
- 1:00:02Speaker 11: the wall of all the photos we have, and almost
- 1:00:05Speaker 11: everyone could be traced back to Frank Sinatra, like he
- 1:00:07Speaker 11: brought in Jackie Gleese, and who brought in the Rosemary Coon,
- 1:00:11Speaker 11: who brought in George Corney, you know, And and then
- 1:00:13Speaker 11: Jerry Stilla was very close friends with Nancy Sinatra, and
- 1:00:17Speaker 11: of course they brought their son, Ben Stilla. He wrote
- 1:00:19Speaker 11: the phot Nancy and the Sinatra wrote the forward to
- 1:00:21Speaker 11: my first cookbook, and Ben Stilla wrote the forward to
- 1:00:24Speaker 11: my second cookbook. And we sell, you know, during the holidays,
- 1:00:27Speaker 11: we sell a lot of that as a gift. If
- 1:00:29Speaker 11: you don't know what to get anyone, we have apasta sauces, mariinada, frodiallo, tomade,
- 1:00:34Speaker 11: basil and vodka sauce. You can get the cookbooks and
- 1:00:37Speaker 11: we have a little gift box at some pasta and coffee.
- 1:00:41Speaker 11: If you don't know what to get anyone, you go
- 1:00:42Speaker 11: to our website, which is Patti's without the apostrop p
- 1:00:46Speaker 11: A T S y S dot com. And like you said,
- 1:00:50Speaker 11: it's our only location. Where on took the between Anst.
- 1:00:52Speaker 11: And Broadway by Conneie Hall.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: And when you go to Patty's, do not rush right
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: into the restaurant. When you walk through the or stop
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: and look at the pictures on the wall. These are
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: all the customers through the years, all famous, famous faces.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Look at all the pictures and look carefully the end
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: of the bar. There's a beautiful statue of Frank Sinatra there,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: so that one we got.
- 1:01:14Speaker 11: It was commissioned by Tina Sinatra. I think there's only
- 1:01:16Speaker 11: a nine hundred limited edition. We have that for many
- 1:01:18Speaker 11: many years. And then on the upstairs we have a
- 1:01:22Speaker 11: smaller statue of Frank Dean and Sammy the rat Pack.
- 1:01:26Speaker 11: A great, great remembrance. Is great fun. We're is so
- 1:01:30Speaker 11: lucky because even like last week, my wife is a
- 1:01:34Speaker 11: big country music fan. And Kenny Chesney came in and
- 1:01:38Speaker 11: he said the first time he came here was seeming
- 1:01:40Speaker 11: like thirty years ago because he heard it was Frank
- 1:01:42Speaker 11: Sinatra's favorite place. So you can't ask for a better
- 1:01:45Speaker 11: pr guy than that.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: All right, now, let me ask you an important question.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Let's Sinatra would always pick up the check. Let's there
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: was a whole bunch of people to check. Was one
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: thousand dollars? What would Sinatra tip on that?
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:01:57Speaker 11: He was easily thirty thirty five percent without and that's
- 1:02:00Speaker 11: not including the hundreds he threw out everybody when a
- 1:02:02Speaker 11: hundred dollars was a lot of money.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Yes, he was.
- 1:02:06Speaker 11: He was so generous. I mean, he just was in
- 1:02:09Speaker 11: every way, I mean with his philanthropy, with his help,
- 1:02:13Speaker 11: and the most important point and I know you know
- 1:02:15Speaker 11: this mark was he wanted to be anonymous. He just
- 1:02:18Speaker 11: wanted to do it because he wanted to do it,
- 1:02:19Speaker 11: not to get his name in the paper. And that's
- 1:02:22Speaker 11: just such a wonderful quality. The man was so ahead
- 1:02:24Speaker 11: of his time, even with civil rights though you and
- 1:02:26Speaker 11: I don't have to tell you all those stories.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Now when he was in the restaurant, He's big tipper
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: ended out hundreds and that was like thousands back then. Also,
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: how many times would he pick up the check for
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: other tables.
- 1:02:38Speaker 11: Oh, so many times. There's so many times. The most
- 1:02:41Speaker 11: famous one, I think I probably told you New York
- 1:02:43Speaker 11: Yankees were in they won the World Series. He introduced
- 1:02:46Speaker 11: to each other and at the end of the night,
- 1:02:48Speaker 11: Sinatra left and Billie Martin was the manager back then.
- 1:02:50Speaker 11: He says, all right, now that Frank left, we can leave.
- 1:02:52Speaker 11: He says, give me the check. He says, too late.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Frank paid for you, for the whole team, the entire Yankee.
- 1:02:57Speaker 11: There was one time, I don't know if I told
- 1:03:00Speaker 11: you this story. One time when he said to my father.
- 1:03:02Speaker 11: He says, me and Barbara and another couple were coming in. Yeah,
- 1:03:05Speaker 11: I know, it's okay for the other man to pay
- 1:03:08Speaker 11: the check. And Ty came to pay the check. He
- 1:03:12Speaker 11: gave him his gold American Express card. It was denied.
- 1:03:15Speaker 11: It wind up that that was the president of American
- 1:03:18Speaker 11: Express and his goal call is denied. He thought Sinatra
- 1:03:20Speaker 11: was playing a practical joke on him.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: And he was. I don't know how he pulled that off,
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: but that was Jim Robinson, right, the chairman of America Express.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Somehow Sinatra got his card to be denied.
- 1:03:30Speaker 11: Yeah, they were friends. They lived close together on pom Springs.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it was so.
- 1:03:35Speaker 11: I was the one time because he said, I don't
- 1:03:36Speaker 11: want I don't want to have owe anyone anything, you know,
- 1:03:39Speaker 11: because when he was down and out, nobody wanted to
- 1:03:41Speaker 11: talk to him. When he came back, he says, now
- 1:03:43Speaker 11: I don't want nothing from nobody. So God bless him.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Well, if you want to celebrate Sinatra, this Friday is
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: the birthday of Frank Sinatra. It's December twelfth, and they've
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: been doing this every year for a million years, the
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Sinatra Birthday Party. And it's at Patsy Used. They'll be
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: live music, singing and some well known people there. And
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: so what now what do people do if they want
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: to come, you make a reservation.
- 1:04:05Speaker 11: Please please give us a call at the restaurant. It's
- 1:04:07Speaker 11: two and two two four seven three four nine one
- 1:04:11Speaker 11: two one two two four seven three four nine one
- 1:04:15Speaker 11: and so the products and everything else. You go to
- 1:04:17Speaker 11: the website. It's patsys dot com, p A T. S
- 1:04:20Speaker 11: y s No apostrophe dot com. And it's it's always
- 1:04:23Speaker 11: such fun. It's it's such a great event. I know
- 1:04:26Speaker 11: w O R has been there many times. Yeah, you've
- 1:04:29Speaker 11: been there too as well.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Make sure you follow Patsy's on Patsy's Italian Restaurant on Instagram.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Very good pictures, all sorts of stuff there. We only
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: got a few seconds left. Sinatra always brought a lot
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: of people to dinner. What's the biggest aunto rush you
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: ever came in with? Oh?
- 1:04:44Speaker 11: He was there when he when he did for the
- 1:04:48Speaker 11: seventy fifth birthday of James Cagney, he took over the
- 1:04:51Speaker 11: whole upstairs and it was it was probably probably about
- 1:04:54Speaker 11: eighty or eighty five people came time to sing Happy
- 1:04:57Speaker 11: Birthday to James Cagney. Ian Martin was singing, Sammy Davis
- 1:05:01Speaker 11: was doing a saft shoe and Sinatu was just about
- 1:05:05Speaker 11: to join him to sing Happy Birthday Jancagney. My father said, wait, wait, Frank,
- 1:05:09Speaker 11: you can't do this, and Frank Sinatra got mad. What
- 1:05:11Speaker 11: can I do? My father said, I can't afford this
- 1:05:14Speaker 11: kind of entertainment here.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: But if you want to see and again, when you
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: walk into Patsies, don't rush in stops thros. You come
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: through the door and look at the pictures on the wall.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: They're amazing. Of all the celebrities were there, and he's
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: called Patsy's follow him on Instagram Patsy's Italian restaurant sal
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: great stuff. Thanks for being with us, always a pleasure.

- 1:06:21Speaker 2: Hey, the big news this morning Bruce Blakeman announced he's
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: running now. At least Stephonic is great, but I think
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Blakeman is better. Stephonica is great, she's a great legislator.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: She's great fighting on those committees. But Blakeman's a governor.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: That's basically what he does in Nassa County, the governor
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: of the county, and he turns out to be the
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: number one best county executive in America. So it's exactly
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: what you want for a governor. So we'll see what
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: happens now. You could have a primary all of that,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: but good problem to have when you got a lot
