- 0:13[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_02]: I can't match that park.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to try it.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the better of it.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: We got a great show for you guys.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: Say make sure to head over to the post tab on YouTube and go vote for our poll of the day.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: Will the Cleveland Guardians go on to win the AL Central Hanford Dixon talking some Cleveland Browns and college football right now at 12 30.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler Danberg is going to join and talk some buck guys a little bit about that ball stake game over the weekend and looking forward to the Texas matchup with Arch Manning this weekend.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then last but not least, Jensen Lewis joining at one o'clock to talk about the guards and take you right up to the 130 first pitch against the O's here on Labor Day but Hanford before we get into anything else.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I know Chris wants to talk about this too.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: It was a crazy day in college football on Saturday.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: We're officially going, take me through the moment, hand for your sitting.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where you were, probably having a diet coke.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: I would assume nothing more than that.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: It was late on Saturday.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: And you see, Western Michigan start running off the field.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: There's no time on the clock.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos have beaten the Wolverines or so we thought.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what I have to say first of all, you have to feel sorry for Western Michigan because I think they were just absolutely robbed of that ball game.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, you talk about the big TN and you know how strong the big TN is.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a team.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: One of the powerhouse and the big TN talking about the University of Michigan playing doing a favor for Western Michigan.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, Michigan is supposed to just kill them during this ball game.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: and I for those poor young kids that played so hard during the ball game for them to have that game just ripped away for them.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's just absolutely crazy because here's the thing that's upsetting to me is.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, how many clocks do you have?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean we are watching the clock on the field and it's strictly the clock is right there it says zero time left okay zero games over okay now they're gonna go back and they've got a special clock that they're using I mean which is bullshit
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it happened.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: You tell me in 2026, everyone can be on the same page.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: All the clocks can be synced together.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I just think I just thought it was totally totally ridiculous for those who ripped for them to rip that game away from those guys.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought it was a great, great ball game.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: But still, you're not going to have
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Western Michigan say anything about it because I think doing that ballgame probably Michigan paid them like a million and a half Dollars just to play them Yeah, so so they're gonna take that money You look at another game.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: I thought was just a great game in the SEC talking about the Ole Miss plan Last night.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was crazy land Louisville.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean that was a great great game another strong team and they're boy, but the big game
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you, the big, big game, L.S., you versus Clemson.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Did you guys see the, don't know.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: I can't, I'm, I'm Ramlin, but don't worry, Chris, you guys go get a chance to jump in here and give you a comment on this.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: But dabble, sweety, playing, L.S., Oh, then Devos and Trevor and Trevor and Trevor.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't, I couldn't believe you could say what you want to say about Lane Kim, you could say what you want to say about Lane?
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Lane had those boys ready to play and they looked like they are and play all form right now.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great, great game.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Unless
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we got a new quarterback is going to take a lot of time, but he's going to be all right.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: But I have to say this though.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: I am just still excited for Balls back.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I am just so excited.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: I could sit there and I could watch college football profile all day long every day of the week.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, but it was, it was, it was just excited.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: But I can't wait to hear you guys think on some of the things that happen in college football.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about that Michigan game at first.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_03]: At the end of that, how about the students rushing the field?
- 4:17[SPEAKER_03]: My, my, how far has Michigan fallen?
- 4:21[SPEAKER_03]: Jack, I went to a Miami of Ohio game back to my alma mater to see my daughter last year, last October.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: Miami was playing Western Michigan.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_03]: Miami beat Western Michigan.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_03]: This was a Mac matchup.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_03]: And guess what?
- 4:36[SPEAKER_03]: Zero fans rush that field.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_03]: zero fans rush that field.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_03]: You know why?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_03]: Because it was Western Michigan, Michigan rushing the field after that game is absolutely insane.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_03]: I cannot believe that their fans were taken to the field after just barely being gifted a victory.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: over a max school and basically being in bears the entire time before the officials and the big 10 decided to award them that victory out of nowhere.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_03]: I my my how far far has that Michigan program fallen have some shame.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: My god walk out of that.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_03]: They had Chris have some shame.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_03]: No shame because you are going to get the barn board doors blown off next week.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: That is hilarious.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: Before we get into our Cleveland Browns Hanford, I wanted to give you 30 seconds on this topic.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: You as we all know are the biggest SEC guy Probably in Ohio.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: I would venture to bet.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: Rutgers loses to you, Mass.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: Michigan almost loses to Western Michigan.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: Is the SEC backed by by War of a Treshen?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no question about it.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I have this fight with my son all the time because he went to Ohio State and he's, I mean, Ohio State could do no wrong.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: And,
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: and all the other teams in the in the big 10 can do no wrong.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: And he's just, uh, I take stick walk around stick.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's just that all the time.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: But I tell him what I said you just wait and see next week.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: I guarantee you they've been a concentrate because you talking about the game of the week next week talking about Texas and Ohio State.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know what, to be honest, I think whoever has the ball last in that ball game, I think that's who's going to win that game because Manning right now is playing really, really well.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I know how you state, obviously, they're ranked number one and for good reasons, they are a good football team.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: Big team, Big 10 is a good conference, but, uh,
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: listen to this, SEC is taking notes.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: The SEC is taking notes and they want to let that big to no that they are the king of college football.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: It just means more does that make sure to stick around because it's 12 30, we're going to be talking more about Ohio State and Texas and I'm sure we'll get into Michigan as well with Tyler Danberg.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Hanford, I would imagine if the Browns walk in a duval county on Sunday and upset the Jaguires, or rather, if the Jaguires beat the Browns at home, there's probably no one's storming the field after beating Dishon Watson in week one.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: But here in Cleveland, we'd be pretty happy if the Browns are able to pull off the upside about against the Jaguires rather.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: Hanford, what is the biggest thing Dishon Watson has to prove in week one?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I tell you, when you look at this Jack Ward steam for instance, it's a, they're good football team.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously we know they're led by their quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who is, who I think is just a fantastic quarterback.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: Big guy, big strong arm, I think they're, I think,
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: They lost last year in the wild card to the Buffalo Bills.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that game was 27, 24, if I'm not mistaken.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: But you talk about a team.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think their record was 13 and 4 last year, which is phenomenal.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: They're compared to what we were.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think the most important thing, see, when you look at our football team, we've been known to have a big strong defense these last few years.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: and our defense is pretty much been picking up the slack for the offense.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: What we're going to need in this ballgame starting Sunday.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to need our offense right now to probably pick up some of the slack and help the defense out because obviously we have Rudy a new defensive coordinator and we just don't know.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: We just don't know how they're going to play.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: We just don't know how they're going to react.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Jim is no longer there.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: but supposedly they're playing a lot of the schemes a lot of the same defenses that they play when Jim was there.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: But you got a lot of new personnel.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the main guy is no longer there talking about a mouse Garrett.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we got first.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, but mouse Garrett is gone.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the the big thing is in this ballgame against Jacksonville.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think our offense
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: has to play a lot better than what they played and they can't leave the defense on the field a lot against Trevor.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_03]: Well, nationally, I don't think people are expecting us to do a whole lot.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: I saw this morning.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_03]: The line has moved from seven and a half points to eight and a half.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_03]: So it's going the opposite way right now.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: If it goes the opposite way for Dishon Watson, how long is the least for him?
- 9:19[SPEAKER_03]: How long until they go to Shidorah Sanders?
- 9:21[SPEAKER_03]: We haven't even played a game and I'm already bringing this up.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry to do that to you a big top dog, but I've got to ask.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_03]: How quickly do you think the Browns would pull the trigger on switching up quarterbacks?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to have a a little bit of a long leash.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think Todd Montgomery obviously named him the starting quarterback for this game for game one and I think he's got probably I would say two games before to see what he can do to for him to make a good showing.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean obviously I wanted to you there's no secret with me guys.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean you guys know and I've told everybody that I would have much rather seen
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: should do or get the starting not or be our starting quarterback.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: But now that we have a Watson behind him 100%.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want Watson to have to go into this ball game feeling like if he threw an interception or if he
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: if he formal the football right away that we're going to go directly to us should do or I don't want him to have that feeling I want him to think that we're behind him the whole team is behind him and I'm sure those guys in that locker room let him know that even should do or it's going to let him know that we're behind him 100% but that at least you know Chris that's a good good question I hope it's not a really really short least I hope that
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: uh... we give him a chance to uh... show what he can do and but obviously if he's think up to join i mean you wouldn't uh... he's he's going to pretty much tie uh... taught's hand and he's going to have no choice but to go to should do it but i i think he's going to give him every every opportunity to uh... show that he can lead this football team
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: So Hanford is we keep the Cleveland headlines segment going here courtesy of smart choice buffs.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to ask you about the mentality or the mental side of the game for the Sean Watson because I think it's clear as day that there are some mental issues going on outside the fact that maybe he's not in the same physical shape as he was back in 2020 the last time he played really elite caliber NFL football.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: how much of it do you think is mental in his return to football over the last couple of years just it hasn't come into play on the field he comes out on a Thursday and says I don't care about being booed then on Saturday he gets booed and he freaks out and kind of lashes out at the fans like what would you if you the chance to sit down with the Sean and kind of take him through the mental side of the game like what would you say to him to try and get him right because it's very clear that he's frazzled mentally
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: there's no question he's uh... he's a little frazzle uh... i mean because you're talking about a kid a guy that uh... he really hasn't played good football since we uh... brought him over to believe in browns uh... from uh... uh... he's done uh... you talking about a guy that's uh... torn to a keelies uh... you know he's been heard and uh... that's got to be uh... in the back of his mind
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: uh... de shan is just got to go out and just to realize he's got to believe and i think he's uh... at least he says that he's backing in that mindset that he is a good football player that he can lead a football team that he can make the plays that obviously that he's got to make in order to win uh... in the national football league
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: And he just got to remind him that he's still can do all these things.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: And but he can't just believe it.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's got to go out and he's got to prove it.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's got to go on the field.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he's got to do these things.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can't be a farmland football.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: You can't be throwing tons and tons of interceptions.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: You got to lead this football team.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: And you got to lead that offense.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I think I think he's going to do that.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think he can do that at least.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: I hope.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that he does this because we're Browns fans number one.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: And what I mean by that is we want to see the football team win.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously, if to show us a quarterback of he's the guy right now, which he is, we want to see him lead this football team.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: We want to see him win football games.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: But again,
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: still in the back of his mind.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: He got to believe that and he's thinking that if he can't get it done, that the Shador is always waiting in the wings and hopefully hopefully he can make some plays and get it done.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_03]: Top dog, I got a stat for you that's going to make you sick.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_03]: Since the year 2000, how many opening date wins do you think the Cleveland Browns have had?
- 13:50[SPEAKER_03]: That would be free.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_03]: Last in the NFL, the next closest is the giants with eight.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not even close.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_03]: Is that just a talent gap or is there a mentality to that opener for the Cleveland Browns?
- 14:06[SPEAKER_03]: You've played in the games.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_03]: You've opened this season with the Cleveland Browns.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_03]: Is there a certain mentality there?
- 14:12[SPEAKER_03]: Or is it just the fact that we haven't been very good over that span?
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we just haven't been very, very good over that span and obviously our record is an indication of that.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: You just so painfully reminding me of that, I brought that up, I mean, I didn't even want to think about anything like that, but I could tell you this.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: we had a little mindset when we played, we used to go on the field and things that we used to say, we used to say expect to win, expect to win, because if you expect to win, you'll find a way to win.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: And that was our mentality.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what these guys got to
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: get back into when they get that field.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: They got expect to win for ball games.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: Not hoping.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: They hope to win ball games.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: We expected to win ball games.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: And again, if you expect to win, you'll find a way to win Big Dog.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: Hanford you talked a bit about your playing days.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I wanted to ask you us because we got a question pop up in the YouTube live chat about your playing days versus the state of the Cleveland Browns in 2026 because they're not exactly on the same playing field.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: But for you, so I've been told my whole entire life.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen the Browns in three play off games in my lifetime.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: I asked for because I think they were in one when I was three or four months old, basically.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_02]: So four playoff games in my lifetime.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: So my dad like every of my family my whole life like I just can't wait to see the browns when they're actually good I can't wait to see when the browns are actually good Is it sad for you at all that so much of Cleveland has never seen the browns as good as when you've played like well What is your feelings on the organization kind of failing to get back to the level of those at when you played and are you hopeful for it to be back soon?
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: Jack, it really is sad Because what what I worry about
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: is are the Cleveland Browns losing the young generation losing those young fans that are Browns fans because you talked about it, you said you're dead for instance, want us to get back to winning football games and see the young generation, they don't have any memories of the Cleveland Browns winning football games.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm telling you this.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: they will jump ship.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: They will jump ship and they will go to say if the Pittsburgh Steelers are winning, say if there's something that it being was winning, say if the Baltimore ravens are winning.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: I try to keep it in the division.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to jump outside the outside of the division.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: But we, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: We need to get this win in straight going again because you talked about it.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and I hate to go back, keep going back when I played, but when I played, man, we every single year.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: Every single year.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: We were in the fight of winning the division, winning the AFC Central there.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's the AFC North.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, yeah, I mean, but I mean,
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: it's sad you know people ask me am I excited about the season start yeah yeah I'm excited but they got damn truth there's I'm always excited at this time of the year until we start playing football games and when we start playing football game and we started losing I mean it just hurt it really really hurt so hopefully we can get this thing get this thing going again and play the way that we'd normally play because one thing I could say about our
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: We felt that we'd let our fans down because, and again, the Cleveland Brown fans just like your dad.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the greatest fans anywhere in the world.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we lost three FC Championship games, three, three of them.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: We'd have got to one arm we would have won a Super Bowl.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: We honestly believe that.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: And man, can you imagine this city?
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: uh... with the browns we'll be walking around in sweatshirts can you imagine this town everybody be going crazy and that's what we really uh... it's it weighs heavy on my heart right now i know a lot of my teammates because we think that we let our fans down by not winning uh... the big game and not uh... not winning the super bowl
- 18:31[SPEAKER_03]: and hamford i was around i was only seven years old when you guys were going hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey what's the age anyone here what's going to do Chris come on now got dim it i was at the double overtime jet's game back in the day i was right there seven years old i was banging on the seat saying bernie co-star is going to lead us back and show us how he did in that game and i'll never forget that and that's what i grew up with and and you're right this city is different
- 18:59[SPEAKER_03]: When the Cleveland Browns are winning and let alone going in the playoffs and making a playoff run, the entire vibe of this city, people don't understand these days what it was like just the euphoria that everyone felt for the Cleveland Browns that's been gone for so long really.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: We've only seen it in spurts and man.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_03]: we just get a monochem of that.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_03]: At some point in your soon man, I tell you why, it would be amazing to feel that again.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_03]: And I know it can happen.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_03]: We're just to quarterback and maybe a few depth positions away.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe there's some work there.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_03]: But this team, hopefully, you know, that's the hope that we come into every season with is that we can get back there.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_03]: We can get back to that feeling.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe that's going to be sooner rather than later.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_03]: But man, it's tough.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_03]: To look at this roster right now, you see the young guys, you see the hope.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_03]: But then you look at the
- 19:46[SPEAKER_03]: You see, look at the division even.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you've got the Ravens.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_03]: You've got the bangles.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully the Steelers fall off a little bit, but let's stay right there.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think about this division right now, Hanford?
- 19:57[SPEAKER_03]: Where do you think the Browns kind of shake out?
- 19:59[SPEAKER_03]: And where do you think these other teams are going to shake out?
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: Come the end of the year?
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, guys, it's really scary because I think the FC North is one of the strongest divisions in the national football league.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously, when you look at the top of it, you've got the Baltimore Ravens who are, who are, you know, just seem like they're getting better each and every year.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: Lamar has got a new, he's got a new coach and they've got a great
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: I've a lot of people don't know, but I was still in that front office, Eric Kosta still there.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's the general manager, so, and of course, Bashadi, who is the owner of the football team.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: Who pretty much let those guys do their thing and let them make the decisions.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: But that AFC North is strong.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I can't wait to see what the Cincinnati Pingles is going to look like this year, but I think in the Pittsburgh Steelers,
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: they just found a way to win but hell here lately they can't uh they can't win a playoff game or anything like that.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think the team that we're going to have to worry about in that AFC north of the vault more ravens and the Bengals with the new defense, the Hanford Hanford.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: Joe Burroughs got the same five guys in front of him and a new defense for the first time.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: Say the Bengals were not going to be.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: I know I know.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm surprised you're drinking the cool as though.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think you
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: Well Joe Burroughs and I come on now we all know that he is he is a good quarterback But I just think the Baltimore Ravens are the class of the FC North But I still think I still believe in us what we get to do is guys We just got to start off right off the bat because because even when you say the Jacksonville Jaguar I mean you don't think of a team that went 13 and four whatever was last year
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: don't seem like a good football team, but they are a good football team.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I can't wait to see though?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to see what they're going to do with this kid, Travis Hunter, I think is his name.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think they have them on the depth already starting their left corner back, but also I'm pretty sure they're going to try to have some packages form where he can do something on offense because in college he obviously he played both ways, but they're
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't think of a man's a good football team, but they are good football team got a couple of good wide receivers, one 58 catches, I think another one had 75 catches last year, so
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think we can go in to Jacksonville and I think we can I think we can beat them at least I hope we can beat them anyway So hand for before I get score predictions from you and Chris for this upcoming weekend.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: I want to ask you So in baseball they always say the the first to bat for your team in the season like if you get on baser now Like that can kind of tell you how the season's gonna go Hey, hey, hey, don't you mess with those guardians, right?
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: Before let me get this in before you ask you a question.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: I know you mess with those guardians Don't mess with three walk-off.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: Where's the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, that's hand for the Tigers did not trade they didn't throw a pitch We're trailing in the series and they lost three games out.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy crazy.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, leave those guardies a row Well, you know before we get a hand for you're gonna love this and Chris holiday happy labor day to everybody who's out there My son just got home from football practice.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_03]: They're still practice and football even on a holiday here in Ohio That's how much we love high school football.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: You remember those days hamper.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I do awesome
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: Congratulations to him, the big dog.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: Hanford, can we get your score prediction for this weekend?
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: And you're just Sean Watson's statline prediction.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think going into this bug game at the end of the day, I'm gonna say 20 to 17, Cleveland Browns.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're gonna go into Jacksonville and we're gonna pull off a win.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna be like Western Michigan, but the only thing is we're going to end up there leaving with the W. So, and it's kind of hard with the Sean.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know what we're going to get from this guy.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: We know what we hope to get, but we just don't know what we're going to get with him, Jack.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we just don't know.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: So if you let me slide on that one, just because I just don't know.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_03]: Chris, what's your score fiction for this weekend?
- 24:48[SPEAKER_03]: And you're just Sean's that line.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm with Hanford.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_03]: I've got that same sickness that Hanford does and that sickness is called optimism.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_03]: I think somehow some way by hook or by crook.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: The Browns are going to come away with a victory here.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_03]: 17 14.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to have to be a low scoring game.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to kick a field goal at the end.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_03]: I think our defense is going to play well.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_03]: I think to Sean Watson is playing just well enough to get us over the hump.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think Casey conception has a big game.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_03]: Boston has some key catches.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think we see a whole lot of that run game.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_03]: And we
- 25:21[SPEAKER_03]: see the offensive line come together just enough to get us over the hump.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_03]: So don't forget everybody optimistic.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know any other way to do it in Cleveland other than to go in optimistic and up upset.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: But hey, that's the way I've been doing it for years here, Hanford.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm just going to continue with that same drum beat.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hanford, we appreciate having you on as always.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: Let me say this.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait because next time I come in here to sit in this chair, we'll have a game on that.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have a game.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have victory Monday that we could talk about.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'll bring it around a day of coach.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: You got fresh from downstairs.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: Not for it.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: Don't go letting her because Tyler Danberg is joining at 1230 to talk about Ohio State being an underdog, walking in too awesome this weekend with don't go anywhere.

- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to the Big Play Cleveland Show's Jack work alongside Chris Reeflog, Nick Neil talking about some Ohio State Buckeye football Chris.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: 56 to three the final score.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: I forget what your score prediction was when we talked last on Friday, but I think you had the box by a considerable margin.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: We're all of your expectations Matt.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: I know I sent some shirts your way about Chris Henry Jr.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: Turned out he was fine too.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he made that catch to beat the spread at the end of that game.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_03]: So big catch for me, he had a couple of drops.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_03]: So people are little down on him there.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_03]: But it's going to take a little bit of time for him to develop.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: You know, one of the guys, and we'll ask Tyler Damburg about this.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_03]: But one of the guys we talked about when he was in here last week was Legend Bay.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_03]: And we expected him to make an impact on return game.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_03]: And foresee he had some stumbles there.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: But man, Jack, that Ronnie had.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_03]: at really captured my imagination for what this kid can be because I really think that he has a high ceiling and can really do some things for the buck guys and we definitely saw that.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I mean, the question marks for this game after the first half, we were wondering, okay, we could see that they could throw the ball.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, you got Jeremiah Smith in there for that first touchdown feeling really good about that.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_03]: Where's the run game?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_03]: We started to see the run game there in the second half.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_03]: Um, it'll be interesting to see though as we get Texas this week to see what we do in the trenches because we did have a little bit of a problem there with ball state.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to oversell this because it's ball state and the fact that we blew them out, but we got to make sure that we're physical upfront when we get to these tougher teams going forward.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_03]: So.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_03]: Um, this is going to be a great matchup or a dog against Texas this week, but hey, what a great way to start.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: You see the problems that Michigan had, obviously, what happened to Rutgers and you feel real good about you going out there getting it done the way you're supposed to.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_03]: And one last thing I'll tell you what it was really cool what they did for Jim Tressel.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: You know, having that whole ceremony.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_03]: when they put him up there in the ring of honor, I know that he was really honored by it, but it's so cool to see kind of that old school class that he's got, that he kind of exudes throughout the program and having that on display there at the shoe for the first game of the year, you have the senior day, you have that going on.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: So it's always cool just to have college football back and then the buck guys do it unlike anybody else.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Chris, as we get Tyler Denver in here, we're going to talk more and more about Ohio State and look forward to this weekend in Austin, but we have to talk about I need to get your thoughts Chris, I know we touched on it with handford for one second, but I think we need to flush this out air it out a little bit, do a little fest of this year if you don't mind air some grievances on the Michigan Wolverines and the big ten.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_03]: I have never seen a festivist poll.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we do need a festivist.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: I've got one right here on the slide.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: Anyone festivist poll?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_03]: I just happen to have this on my desk here.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_03]: Wait, you haven't?
- 29:32[SPEAKER_03]: No way.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_03]: That is it.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_03]: One kiss.
- 29:35[UNKNOWN]: That's perfect.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_03]: But Chris, so we're sitting here.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_03]: I actually put these out every Christmas.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_03]: So in my other life, they send me one of these every single Christmas.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: So I have to get to one of these jack.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, for the whole, it's not too far from where I sit right now.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: I would be honored, but Chris, so I'm I was sitting I went up to Lakewood truck park where we've done a plethora of live shows before and I had a couple of drinks You know just hanging out with my buddies and you see the score come across and Western Michigan's running out onto the field Like I have a group chat with like three or four friends there Michigan fans like I'm going into the group chat like audio messaging in like Buh, Buh, Buh, Buh, Buh, Buh, Buh, like I was like it was awesome.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: It was the greatest thing of all time and then bam you throw a second back on the clock
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'd love to get Tyler Danberg's thoughts on that too, because that's the guy who knows a heck of a lot more about football than I do.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, hey, there he is, Tyler.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on?
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, guys?
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Did I miss the feats of strength?
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: You missed the feats of strength.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_03]: We did, we did do the best without you.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'll get a winner.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: But, Tyler, what was your reaction to the craziness that happened with the Wolverines over the weekend?
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: I said on my couch and was just shell shock.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: I was just shell shock.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, first off, we're not talking about any of this unless Michigan completes the Hail Mary, or as people are calling it, the Hail Mary.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I get, you know, you gotta always look at it on both sides, right?
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I just can't believe that
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: they can't have the same clocks in sync.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like the NBC, which is a TV partner, they their clock wasn't the same as the big tens clock.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess that's the argument.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they're saying from the league office.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I totally understand it.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I just, I just am kind of confused by the whole,
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have the clocks in sync, which, again, that's a part of, you know, that's a part of TV broadcast.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's just, that's just life and every day and in TV.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes that's not necessarily automatically operated.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'd have to think that that's they probably are taking the same.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: feed as either the Big Ten or maybe the scoreboard feed.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: There's some type of disalignment between whether that's the scoreboard feed and the Big Ten feed or the TV feed, which is taking it from the scoreboard feed and the Big Ten feed.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: All that to say, who knows what the heck is going on?
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I do and I appreciate the rule as well.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the rule is the clock stops.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: If there's a player that touches the ball
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: On the back line, once they come in contact with the ball, that's when the clock stops.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: So if there are newing that when the clock stopped and the or the Western Michigan defensive back, knocks the ball down, comes in contact with the football.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: and there's one second on the clock then.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: If that's the case, then I totally understand that.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's just my heart breaks for Western Michigan.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_03]: Heart has to you.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: Do you ever see or envision a world where Ohio State beats a Mac team and you see all the students flooding the field?
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, I I couldn't believe that as well.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean it like when they when they showed the when they showed the aerial view for maybe the upper deck or like a sky cam, it was a great shot by the way, it was a great shot when they showed that aerial cam.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you didn't know who was playing, you would have thought that Michigan would have beaten Oklahoma.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that would probably be the environment that wouldn't be created.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: If Michigan were to beat Oklahoma this week.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, it's, it's, what, what a crazy time.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's, there's only something.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: Riddle me this.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: You're telling me we put a man on the moon in the 1960s, but in 2006, we can't one figure out how to synchronize two clocks to each other in the same stadium on the same Wi-Fi, and two, we can't put a first-down marker accurately 10 yards away from line of scrimmage.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: How is that possible?
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: Someone's lying to us, either the NCAA or NASA.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know which one.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: They both start with ends, that's all I can tell you.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just trying to look at this from both sides of the spectrum and it's a really tough thing to look at, but my biggest takeaway from this is Western Michigan deserved to win that ball game.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: They played their absolute butts off.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: They had Bryce Sunderwood of the Michigan offense and a pressure cooker all game long.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you look at the schedule.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: We're looking at this today, guys.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: Western Michigan, they have a chance to finish the non-con undefeated.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Many pundits pick them to finish.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: a top the Mac like they face Boisey State in a couple weeks and let's say Boisey State Beats Memphis this weekend given the way they played Oregon like Boisey States a really good team.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: They could be the group of six representative in the College of Ball Plaf.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: But let's say there's a world where Western Michigan Beats Boisey State, they go on to maybe win the Mac.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: We could be looking at this game against Michigan as one of the deciding factors in whether Western Michigan may or may not get the group of six invite into the college football playoffs.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: So again, it's, it's why this decision can have a really, really long term effect.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler speaking of Mac teams in their college football playoff odds.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not, I'm no expert.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: I would have to think that Ball State took a bit of a hit this fast weekend when they lost to the buck guys by about 19 touchdowns.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler, what did you see from the books on Saturday that you think can translate into winning football in Austin?
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, first off explosion, they totaled 673 total yards of offense and the run game had a tough first half, believe it was 32 yards of rushing offense in that first half, but then they exploded for over 200 in that second half.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: To put it in the perspective last year, the buck guys in 14 games had four rashes of 40 or more yards.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: They had two on Saturday and I get it.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's ball state, but the fact that they were able to make those adjustments at halftime and come out and roll up over 200 plus yards on the ground is huge.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Jacobie Jackson's 40 plus yard burst down the sideline and then boat Jackson's 65 yard touchdown.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's a testament to his improvements and getting into the second level.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: which is one big thing that Ryan Day and staff challenged him this off season.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think the puck guys also showed that they have the depth 88 players played in the game on Saturday.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's the most they've gotten in the game since 2019 and of those 88, 54 of them played 10 or more snaps.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: So then goes to show you how their valuing depth, their valuing experience, and you know, I think it's good for them to have that ball state game heading into visiting Texas rather than starting off with Texas like they did last year.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the defense shows some great things.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think inside defensive tackle was was a position that flashed.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we saw John Walker from UCF who's played a lot of football.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: We saw James Smith reeks and havoc into the back field.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: Can he add a Jackson junior on the defensive endside of the ball in the past rush had a nation best eight quarterback pressures now the next step for him is you know when he's facing some of the better offensive lines now in the country as we move forward getting home is going to be the next next thing for for him to unlock and unleash and the secondary showed something as well and.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, I think Germaine Matthews and Devon Sanchez continue to take another step.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: And Jay Timons at Nickel getting a start as a true freshman.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: First time to do that in the college debut for the podcast is Denzel Burke did it in 2021.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that Ohio State just showed you that they have a lot to offer now.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: We're really going to see what they can do when they put it to the test in Austin.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: Tyler Julian Saiyan had a nice afternoon, 21 and 25, 320 yards, 3 studies, no interceptions.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_03]: What did you see out at Julian Saiyan in this game?
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we saw his efficiency, just like he did last year.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was just over-efficient with the football.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: So cool, calm, and collected.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: And we also saw Chris, him years his legs, which we talked last week about what the next step is for Julian Sandin is improvement in growth.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: And him tapping into his body this off, season, adding 14 pounds of muscle, increasing his mobility in the weight room with
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: strength and conditioning coach McMurati who he praised after the ball game.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: He ripped off that touchdown on fourth and goal.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: He broke a tackle at the line that's pretty mid.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then it was able to dive into the end.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: So like, you know, regardless of whether it's ball state, Texas, Oregon,
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: you name the opponent like on fourth and medium in a goal that goes scenario for him to have the stones to run up the middle and into the end zone for a touchdown, I think just goes to show you the confidence and you know, and just talking to him after the game, you know, he had this big smile on his face like you can tell he's relaxed.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's always about the team.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: There's always something for him to work on, but he just feels
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: very relaxed and confident and collected and just the way he's going about his business.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: So Tyler, every single week I sit up here and I go, oh, Tyler is this guy worth one one.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: And you go, Jack, obviously he's worth one one and then the guy goes out and does awesome things.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: Last week, it was Travis Pazon of this week, we're going to try it out with a receiver.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: Jeremiah Smith had an incredible weekend, 151 yards, two tauties and just one half of football.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: Last week I asked you why is Travis Pazano worth the first overall pick?
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: Why Tyler is Jeremiah Smith worth the first overall pick?
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: he's the hardest working player on the team and he also happens to be the best player in college football.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: He had 157 receiving yards and two touchdowns in one half.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: It was cool to see him do that after it feels like it's like an anything you can do.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: I can do better type of thing with him in Malachi Tony of Miami who had a hack of a game on Friday night at Stanford.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: He had over 230 yards of receiving and then Jeremiah Smith said,
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: I see your 234 yards in three quarters.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'll raise you 157 in the pair of scores in the first half.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know, both had incredible incredible ball games.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Jeremiah Smith, you look at that first touchdown.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, 48 yards, he goes David Tyree pins the ball up against his helmet while diving draped in single coverage.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that those are plays that most people don't make.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: you go back to that truly insane rushing touchdown.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: Jeremiah's isolated in single coverage on the right side of the field.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: He makes this little drag route and he basically takes away the entire middle of the field from Ball State's defense and he opens up the lane as well as the offensive line for Julian to streak up the middle and score.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think that Jeremiah Smith's impact
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: at the college level goes so beyond receiving yards and receiving touchdowns because he attracts so much attention.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: He opens so much up for his teammates and again, I mean, he can he can make a game and break a game with his route running, his catch radius, his IQ, instinct, and ability to just make those circus-like catches.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's got magnets for two hands
- 41:19[SPEAKER_03]: A Tyler last week, I asked you about a guy who shares his name with a casino and a golf course, Legend Bay, and it turned out to be a bit prophetic as he got his touches both in the return game, stumbled a little bit, but then also captured everybody's imagination running the football.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_03]: What did you see from Legend Bay?
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: we got the legend bay experience you know it's it's a freshman it's his first game you know so much excitement you go to the opening kick and he feels it kind of in the back pedal about four or five yards deep in his end zone and Brandon Anis who is also back deep to return with him he's pointing to him he's taking he's pointing him to get down and legend takes it out and then he has another one of those kick returns that it's kind of like the no no no yes yes yes oh no type of kick return and then
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: You go and you look at that second half and I mean that that catch screen catch and run that he had I mean I I can't think of a guy that is similar at Ohio State that had a play like that since Braxton Miller.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think Curtis Samuel is a guy that comes to mind and who Curtis is a little bit of a bigger frame.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: So he was relied a little bit more on strength and brute muscle and physicality, but like Braxton, just pure finesse.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously that spin move against Virginia Tech, the rollout and touched down to Devon Smith, against Wisconsin, you know, those are,
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: Those are types of flashy plays and movements that you see from guys like Braxton Miller and Legend Bay.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's cool.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: Legend after the ball game.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: He was the last one in the locker him because he was signing autographs.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like all the fans were screaming legend legend.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they wanted they were captivated by this
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: this freshman player that showed some incredible flashes.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: CJ Barnett, who is a great great defensive player for the buck guys, was usually CJ's on Jeremiah duty after the game just to get him into the locker room.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: And he did that.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then on top of that, they were there to bring legend in.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: That was cool to see
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: that was cool to see the fans really be captivated in reactant legend bay and you know that's a guy that especially when you give the ball to him in space you know he's got the ability to wiggle around defenses and and and just draw so much separation you know that's a that's a really special skill set that you see from guys let alone a true freshman and his college debut so finally two years ago
- 43:58[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I was taking a ask.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_03]: He said cool and he was talking about legend Bay.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_03]: And I was thinking the last time that I can really remember a player capture my imagination like this was Maurice Clarette.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, his coach at that time was Jim Tressel.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, they had a nice, a nice time there on Saturday, basically, you know, honoring him and then putting him into the ring of honor there.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_03]: You were down on the field.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_03]: What was that like to be down there
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: just peer goosebumps.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you could ask anybody on on the field or in the stands for that game.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: And they'd probably say that there wasn't a hair on their back that wasn't standing up or they didn't have goosebumps.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: There were, I mean, you look around and there were people tearing up like, you know, that's that, that's the power of what Jim Schressel and his teams and the impact
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: On the people in this this football craving Columbus beautiful football community that that this is and we know all about you know it's it was a great touch, by the way V tells that they give out the fans they had a sweater vest at the top protecting the rafters before they officially enshrined him into the ring of honor they had a sweater vest icon logo to cover it up.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: uh... you know that's uh... that's the brand of gym trustland and and another great thing about him is you know it's it's never about him it's about the team um... you can tell he was incredibly incredibly moved by the honor and it was awesome too he i mean for the the entire two-minute spiel that was given about him and the fans are going crazy him and his wife are waving to the fans he's turning around he's doing three sixties and it's acknowledging the fans
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: on the players to to know about the impact of what Jim Tressal has had on not just the university and the football program but on his players themselves you just look at the images in that back left corner the south end zone and you see the the tens of players that were there.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: to support their former head coach James Laurenitis was out there as well, who, I mean, he's pretty busy during the games and he's coaching a linebackers, but for him to have a part in that celebration as a former player of coach Tresso, you know, it was a really special day.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler two years ago, the buck guys knock off the long horns in the cotton ball last year in the defensive battle, and all defensive battles, the buck guys again beat Texas at the shoe.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: It seems in a way like it should be like the how many times have to teach you this lesson old man meme.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_02]: But for some reason, the long horns are favored this weekend, down in Austin.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler, why is that incorrect?
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: Why are the buck guys going to go in there and get the W.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: Why I think that the line probably is right there because Texas is the home team and you know it is a top five matchups and maybe you give the you give that edge to the to the home team, but I think I think to your question Jack, why that why that might be incorrect why the buck guys can win this ball game and and why I think the buck guys will win this ball game is, um, it.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think that when it comes down to weapons they, you know, these are two teams that have a lot of manpower.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_01]: These are two teams that when you look at the skill positions, and I mean Texas has an incredible runback duo of Hollywood smothers.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: and Relieke Brown and then the wide receiver duo of Ryan Wingo and Cam Coleman.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: Justin Auburn.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is an incredible incredible matchup of just weapons and artillery on both both ends and both teams.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_01]: And, and I think as well, you know, archmaning and Julian Sane, this is a completely different quarterback matchup right now than it was week one of last year, both our season both have seen a lot more, both have played a lot more, but I think where the puck guys have the edge here is is depth, they've got a lot of depth.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it comes at every position.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: Look at the secondary.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think Ohio State Secondary is going to play a huge role in this game.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: The buck guys are going to need German Matthews Junior at corner.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: He had an interception in a big spot last year against the long horns.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: Devon Sanchez whom he played a little bit against Texas last year coming in for his college debut as a highly regarded true freshman.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to need him big time in this ball game and then J. Timons, the true freshman nickel.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be his first environment in a road environment and just his second college game.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, relying on an early little junior, what's also unique about this is that Ohio State has a lot of guys that have played against Texas, obviously, because they played them each of the last two years.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: but they have transfers from the SEC.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: They've got Alabama transfers.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: They've got guys that are familiar and have played against Texas.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: Jacobi Jackson running back, he's played Texas.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's it's unique to have so much experience that is familiar with this opponent in a powerful non-conference setting.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I think one key area for Ohio State in this game
- 49:16[SPEAKER_01]: game van sickling at right guard and move Austin servile the right tackle fill up Daniels was on and off and kind of had himself an up and down game and maybe some plays where he might want back but this is a guy that also shut down Colin Simmons the star all american past pressure for Texas last year so you know higher state how do you how do they come out how do they look
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: up front of the offensive line and try and limit the Texas pass rush if they can limit Texas defensively up front and if the buck guys defense in the secondary, especially can shut down Texas through the air and Ohio State can get off to a fast start.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I think the buck guys can win this ball game and leave Austin winners.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler, is it crazy to say that Texas has the closest thing we can see in the country to Ohio State's receiver room and how do you feel about that second there you just talked
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, to answer your first question, I think that I'd probably put Texas up there obviously with with Wingo and with Cam Coleman, I think those two especially that that's a really, really good wide receiver duo.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's got to be a top five wide receiver duo right now in the country.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been just one week.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: I know they played Texas State, but that's a really good wide receiver duo that's played a lot of football.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think Oregon is another great simulation.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I've been steward to Korean more.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, USC, they had to reload at the wide receiver position, but they've got a lot of weapons.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that Texas definitely is one of the two or three wide receiver cores.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_01]: That are probably up there among Ohio State's opponents that can rival the buck guys.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you see record But I think from what we saw from Ohio State on Saturday.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's just a small sample size I mean, this is this is probably in Jeremiah Smith has talked about this in the off season.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is probably One of if not the deepest why do you see records since Jeremiah's been here since 2024.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: Wow You know, I I'm really excited to see maybe where this depth
- 51:24[SPEAKER_01]: long-term compares to the debt that we saw in 2021, because it's too early to tell obviously.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I feel like that 2021 wide receiver room at Ohio State.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of the measuring stick.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_01]: You can put 2020 up there as well.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I think 2021 is kind of the measuring stick that maybe we'll look back at this this 2026 group of larger seabers as one that can really rival what we saw from that team five years ago and and hopefully hopefully these these young bucks can can make a couple of big plays in the air.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_03]: Can we get a prediction from you?
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I, I'm, I'm not too much for giving, giving score predictions.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: Got to, obviously, got to, got to, got to obviously look at this as calling the game.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I, I do think the book guys, I do think the book, I do think the book guys are going to come out when this ball game by by a score.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: at least.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think that Ohio State, this is going to be a great simulation for what this schedule has for him.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think that Connor Hawkins is going to make a big kicker too in this game.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to need him.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know, obviously him going back to Texas.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's from the state of Texas.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: I believe Liberty Hill.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's a bailer transfer.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think that
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: he can make a big kick, whether maybe that's late in the first half, maybe it's a game winner, maybe it's to force an over time, but I think that the buck as are going to come out and win this game by at least one score and I think Connor Hawkins makes one big kick.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's my prediction.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler last question before we get you out of here.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_02]: We got a guy in the live chat.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: Daniel Devaney it appears is the name asking, what is your case for Julian Sayon to win the Heisman?
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: First off, Daniel, hope you're doing well.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think my case for Julian Sayon to win the Heisman.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think is
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: his efficiency.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think it is another 3500 yard passing season.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think it is to lead the country in completion percentage to lead the country in passing efficiency.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if he can find a way to have, I think if he can lead the book as to a big tent title.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think if there's one, you know, he led the country last year in passing efficiency,
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: last year in completion percentage.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that we look back as at that big ten title game as the one that won for an end-of-end owes to the Heisman because he beat Julian Sand and had a really great game.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_01]: And Julian also had some big throws in that game as well.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: But you look at the, you know, who won or who lost that game and I do think that plays a role.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: So if Julian Sand can lead the
- 54:16[SPEAKER_01]: to a big 10 title and for him to find a way to either replicate or even top the numbers that he had last year because he certainly was deserving of hoisting the high has been last season.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's I think that's my case.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think that maybe two.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the guy he's throwing to also has a legitimate legitimate case as well.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that if Julian can help the buck guys to getting their first big 10 title since the 2020 season, I think that could play a large role.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe see how he does head ahead against some of the other Heisman caliber quarterbacks like like a guy and Dante more if they face Dante more.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: how he fares against arch, against arch manning.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think that when you look at the head to head and see how he performs and who comes out on top and some of those individual matchups, I think if the buck guys can come out of winter this week, can come out of winter against Oregon and try and get that big 10 championship.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think Julian Sand could definitely boast the high has been trophy when it's all set in done here.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: Tyler, thank you so much for joining us.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_02]: I should say very quickly, your favorite type of candle.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: Favorite-scented candle.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: Give me the Yankee candle.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_01]: Give me the Yankee candle a full full ball season.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's like an apple cider pumpkin spice hybrid.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, it's football season.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_01]: We gotta go something fall here.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_02]: It is full ball season, Tyler, thanks.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for joining us with pleasure.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_02]: As always, Chris, before we talk to Jensen about these
- 55:48[SPEAKER_02]: We've been waiting to actually fully get into this with you.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: We've been kind of interrupted, halted.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_02]: We've pulled up to the light and it's been yellow and we're just breaking early.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_02]: Chris, can I do your full?
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: fledged out thoughts on the University of Michigan Wolverines.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_02]: Now that we have time.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_03]: How much have they fallen?
- 56:06[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the great Michigan program goes from winning a title.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_03]: I'll be at cheating to do it, but winning a title to now storming the field after they were gifted a game against a Mac opponent.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
- 56:21[SPEAKER_03]: They see the chart.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_04]: Crystal are relative to the Ohio State.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_03]: You look at Ohio State.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_03]: We rolled out a bed and then rolled ball state, no problem at all.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_03]: We're looking ahead to Texas.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_03]: They're looking ahead to a loss at Oklahoma.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this is going to be a wild way that these two programs here for the next five years.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_03]: You're going to watch
- 56:43[SPEAKER_03]: Ohio State continue along our ascent as we have for the last 20 years we were talking about Jim Tressel, Jim Tressel ushered in a new era that continued with urban mire that is now continued with Ryan Day, but they are going to continue for the unforeseen future.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Michigan is going to continue to stumble and they're going to go down Jack, and we're going to see that on the field and right now we're seeing it in the stands.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_03]: Have some pride.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_03]: You just beat a Mac team.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_03]: There's no reason to be rushing the field after beating a Mac team.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_03]: That is crazy.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_03]: I've been to Mac games.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_03]: I went to a Miami of Ohio game last year where we beat Western Michigan.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_03]: We did not rush the field because you don't do that when you're beating a Mac team even if you are a Mac team unless it's for a championship of some sort you just don't do that you certainly don't do that if you're in the big house you're playing your opener you're supposed to beat this team handily and you just barely eat by because it was gifted to you that my friends is pathetic on the part of Michigan and I'll tell you what they have got to step it up if they're really going to be a rival to the Ohio State University.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Chris, real quick, audible, just a one-question fill in the blink for you here.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_02]: If you can give me one word to describe Bryce Underwood's $12 million contract in Michigan.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_03]: What a waste of money.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_03]: I'll tell you what.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'll give him credit on that last couple of plays.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_03]: The gift did one and then one before it because he was kind of like an MLB picture, right?
- 58:13[SPEAKER_03]: He shows the one out of the back of the end zone so he could throw it kind of to the front of the end zone there.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_03]: So that was well played when they gifted him an extra shot at it gave him a mule again.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_03]: But my guy could you imagine wasting that much money on a quarterback this side of the Cleveland Browns.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_03]: That's what Michigan is doing right now.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_03]: That is incredible.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_03]: And that's going to hamstring them the same way it does for the Cleveland Browns right now with Deshawn Watson.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not comparing them off the field or anything else.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_03]: But on the field, both of those guys suck and are not worth the money.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: Luckily, we get to talk about a competent Cleveland sports team when we return from break talking guardos with Jensen Lewis.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to the Big Play Cleveland show, Jack O'Rourke, Logside, Chris Reeve, Flog McNeil and it's time to bring the heat.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_02]: We got Jensen Lewis with us.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_02]: Jensen, the guards had a crazy weekend winning three of four.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_02]: The Tigers did not.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_02]: I believe they didn't throw a pitch trailing all weekend long and somehow end up on the wrong
- 59:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Jack, the only thing flying higher than the guardians was the air show all weekend for going to catch a little bit of that yesterday and listen to hammy on the ride home.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_04]: You're right, wild to see, of course, great friend of the program and ours as Zach Miles will putting that out there yesterday the guardians walking off the tigers three of those victories.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_04]: and never leading really until that happened in all three of those wins just wild to think about guys that is seven walkoff wins now for this Cleveland club and that's actually tied for third most in the American league behind just the Mariners and the white socks who have 11 each they have 34 comeback victories this year and that's already matched last season's total so with three weeks left here in the sprint
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_04]: Brian Rokio doing a little rock timber right now, however you want to look at it, what a weekend for this club and a much needed boost to their playoff chances.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_03]: So, Jensen, the Guardians have 18 games left.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_03]: The White Sox have 19 games left.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_03]: We are two and a half games back.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_03]: What are the chances we could catch those White Sox?
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the good part is here Chris that you're going to get him front and center at home a week from today and that's what you play for is meaningful games with an opportunity to win the division on the line Minnesota doing no favors to the guardians yesterday as they get blown out by the socks, but I think that's the beautiful part of where this schedule sets up right.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_04]: You get a Baltimore team that's reeling right now.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_04]: They've lost six in a row.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_04]: So hopefully they've caught the Orioles at the right time, headed into Camden yards.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_04]: Then you'll head to the Twin Cities over the weekend for a Pittal Series.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_04]: And Chris, that might be the final stand for Minnesota in this playoff picture.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_04]: So you'd have a knockout punch opportunity and then that all sets up for a week from today.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_04]: They won't worry about it.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_04]: We can talk about it, but three series
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_04]: Guardians could find themselves in first place a week from Thursday.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_02]: Jensen, I was always talking up the defense wins championships.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think that applies to pitching a little bit too.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_02]: Parker, Mastic, right up there in any conduit.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: You want to have about the best pitchers in the American League this year.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_02]: Gavin Williams, 228 strikeouts just throwing himself straight into that ace conversation, not just in Cleveland, but across the American League.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: How much better do you feel about this scene when you're approaching a stretch like this?
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_02]: Knowing you have guys like that, you can lean on.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Jack, it's great to bring up a guy that at 228 strikeouts for the year, but if you go back to his last 11 starts, it's 105 strikeouts in 62 and 2 thirds.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's just obscene what he's done and to boot.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_04]: just 17 walks.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so it's not only filling up the strike zone, but when he gets to two strikes, it's taking advantage and absolutely punctuating it.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_04]: Make no mistake.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_04]: Parker Messick is critical to this conversation as Gavin Williams, and I can't help but think,
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_04]: that you had parcromasic lined up to book in a two really important series right he's slated right now to pitch the opener in Minnesota Friday night and then would be lined up to face the white socks for the series finale back home and progressive field on Wednesday the 16th both these guys you know along with with what Tanner Bobby you know has been able to do and I know the last couple of weeks have not been statistically the best
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_04]: But when you think about it, Gavin Parker Foster Griffin has been massive, what a deadline edition that has really now personified why this front office makes some of the moves that they do.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_04]: We scream in y'all for the mountain tops about offense and we are acquitted about doing that.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_04]: We have every reason too.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_04]: But guys, you see it a lot.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_04]: When you get talk to over, you have to have length in the starting rotation.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_04]: You have to have great bullpen work and right now this team has both of them in spades.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_03]: Well, let's lead to the end of that.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_03]: You have to have a good bullpen and at the end of that bullpen is Cade Smith.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_03]: Lookin' pretty darn dominant.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_03]: The other game, he finishes striking out five of six hitters.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this guy is the real thing as a closer right now.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_03]: How big is that for the Guardian?
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_04]: I wish I could have thrown as hard and as effective as he did.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_04]: Chris, you highlight a guy in Cade Smith that I think only trails Louis, Varlan and Mason Miller for the best relievers statistically, and you can look at fan graphs throughout the year.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_04]: Power ranked relievers.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_04]: in Major League Baseball this year.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_04]: I think Kate Smith comes in at number three.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_04]: He has been as vented to a guy, not only just this year, but the last couple of years.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_04]: And since he stepped into the closing roll, championship all clubs build their bullpens from the back forward.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_04]: know better guy and and we're we're we're biased here in Cleveland.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_04]: Louis Varlins had a great year, Mason Miller is unstoppable, but Kate Smith deserves to be in that conversation and let's give credit where it's due.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's 100 Gattis and Eric's Nebraska.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_04]: Guys, you know, we had 100 Gattis who had lost it for a while.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_04]: And then he deserves
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_04]: As much praise as any setup and leverage reliever in this bullpen for getting it figured out, the slider has been masterful, even mix it in some changeups again here as of late.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_04]: And in Eric's Nebraska coming back from the injury, we've kind of grown a custom to knowing that if you have the lead after six innings, it's basically ball game, as Hami would say.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_04]: And that's the way it's been the last couple of weeks in and for the better part of the second
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_02]: Jensen, it seems like there's stretches throughout the year, every year where Brian Rokio just looks a little bit lost at the plate, and you wonder like, wow, I know he does this seemingly every single time it matters, but is he going to do it this time when it matters?
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like he answered that question again, the clutch sheen is back for Brian Rokio.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: Can you talk about how this guy just seemingly does it every single time it just matters more?
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_04]: I think we need to, whatever devices or if he even still has like a paper calendar, we need to cross off April, May, June, July and August and just put September.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_04]: September just needs to be Brian Rokio and that's all he needs to remember from day number one of the season.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what it is guys about the finish in a flourish that he has for the last couple of years.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_04]: make no mistake about it.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_04]: You look at Jose Ramirez.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_04]: That's the guy you want up with the game on the line.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_04]: In September, it feels like you need Brian Rokio up there with the game on the line.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Homer three times with the six ribbies and the four games against Detroit.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_04]: He's got now 13 homers this year after he hit 13 in just his first three major league seasons.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_04]: combined.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_04]: That's a great nugget to carry the momentum.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_04]: We joked it's rock timber in September.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be rocktober if he keeps hitting this way because it has been clutch it after clutch it in the biggest moment.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_02]: So, Jensen, let me ask you a quick follow-up to this because there's eventually at some point in time there's going to be some musical chairs that come in the middle of that infield.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you hope that Jose Ramirez is still a few years off of being in the permanent DH category.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think ultimately ends up happening in the
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, great question, Jack, and I think they're still probably actively working through what some of the analytics and the metrics are telling them, while also really trying to be mindful of the handmade injury and recovery timeline for Jose Ramirez.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think people realize because it's the work ethic, he wants to be out there, you know, taking ground balls and doing what he has to do defensively, but I think they've been smart
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_04]: And then also what, you know, rehab work, he's still doing to get back to a hundred percent.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, and now has been very intriguing.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_04]: I think between second, between short, you know, doing some work at third.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, I think Bazana.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_04]: Beson is more a liability right now defensively.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_04]: So that's going to be the the captivating conversation is how often do you want to have Beson a physically in the field, especially in tight games.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_04]: To me, I think you lead Brokeo at short and you put him now at second if Ramirez can play almost every day and I know they've been trying to use Sundays to get him off his feet.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_04]: But I think that gives you the best combination of the middle right now, defensively.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_04]: I think it should be, now, I think it should be Rokio and we'll kind of see what they want.
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_04]: It might be series to series depending on the matchups, depending on the tendencies of opposing offences of opposing offences or more groundable oriented, you know, they may alter series to series on their defensive alignment.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_03]: Johnson any updates on Chase DeLater.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_03]: I know he's day to day right now.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen any updates on where his status is.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, man.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_04]: This is the tough part about the year to have this kind of wrist injury and and just because it impacts so many different parts of the game right Chris and and I'm sure that that he's fight like hell to to try and get as healthy as possible as quick as possible.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_04]: This to me feels day to day.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_04]: at least it's how they're going to try and treat it, maximize the recovery, but you're so close.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_04]: And it could not come at a worse time with the series you have in the central starting this weekend in Minnesota.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_03]: Jensen, you mentioned the air show over the weekend.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_03]: I don't recall whether you ever played during the air show we always talk about distractions off the field and while you're physically on the field when you have distractions like that Tom Hamilton likes to talk about shadows, but certainly having those blue angels buzzing overhead has got to be an X level.
- 1:09:03[SPEAKER_03]: Do you ever recall playing in a game with those type of distractions?
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they were below the hard deck for a few of those that I played and I can remember fortunately being in the pen and if you remember the old stadium alignment there Chris where our home bullpen we had that staircase up the middle and center field and we could kind of stand up and see it we had the opportunity to see him when they came from behind home plate and just buzz the tower there I again, it is it's so Americana man, but it is so like
- 1:09:35[SPEAKER_04]: earth shattering in every because it breaks all your concentration.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_04]: So fortunately I was never on the mountain it happened but it was a stair I was flipping between some of the feeds over the weekend was hearing Jason Benetti talk about it.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_04]: Dan Schulman and the blue jays I saw maybe one of the blue jays Pete writers was just so annoyed that it was happening.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_04]: Like guys you know what's happening it just be ready for it or at least as ready as you can what did display another Cleveland air
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_02]: It was so funny.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_02]: I was at the rodeo game on Friday and Joe Adele was just like playing catchers.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_02]: I figured it was in the center.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Pride PD help.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_02]: And like Bob, between innings.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then one leg zoom through and Joe Adele like ball coming his way just bam, just turns to his side.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_02]: It was so funny.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_02]: What had happened with Jensen speaking of that tiger series.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was a team that you felt you kind of had on the ropes that you could make some significant ground on.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_02]: You come out and you handle business over the weekend after
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now you got the O's who you're at what?
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think two games in front of right now, maybe.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_02]: They're losers of six in a row.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_02]: How important is it to just bury this team when you have the chance?
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is it.
- 1:10:43[SPEAKER_04]: This is the last stand for Baltimore, and I think that Baltimore has to sweep Cleveland to have any chance to be alive.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_04]: Remember, they've lost six in a row.
- 1:10:51[SPEAKER_04]: It's the way that they got swept by the red sucks over the weekend that is not only in the lost column, but I think mentally is as big.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think Craig Albert has even admitted of all the body blows or all the blows that they've taken this year.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_04]: That was by far the worst.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_04]: and it couldn't come at a worst time.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_04]: You look at the remaining schedule, Baltimore three against Cleveland, then three at Toronto, three at the Met's, then home, their finishing stance, it's so brutal.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_04]: They have three against the Brewers, three against the Blue Jay's at home, then they got to go to Yankee Stadium and play New York, who knows?
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_04]: If that series is going to mean anything for the Yankee's at that point, but that is a tough road ahead
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_03]: Jensen, I'm sure that you were dialed in to on the college football over the weekend.
- 1:11:42[SPEAKER_03]: I've got a get your opinion on that added second in the Michigan game.
- 1:11:46[SPEAKER_03]: What is going on?
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_03]: Is that fair?
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_03]: Was that the right call?
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_03]: And what's going on in college football right now?
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_04]: uh... high crimes and misdemeanors is how i i posted it at uh... a loose ross administration uh... for my good friend davoros uh... weekday mornings on peace in uh... serious channel one eighty nine for those at one a tune in uh... i had i posted it i said first of all new low for that team up north where you have the students rush the field against an unranked macapone and when you're twenty seven at point favorites
- 1:12:18[SPEAKER_04]: And you need a hail Mary and extra time off of our world cup stands up from a couple of months ago.
- 1:12:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Chris, I still haven't seen a viable explanation.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_04]: I really haven't.
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_04]: And and I think that's the black eye on the big ten and the officiating crew is every angle, every replay synced up, whatever secret clocks you have in the stadium, I mean, come on.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_04]: What are we doing here?
- 1:12:43[SPEAKER_04]: So I think
- 1:12:46[SPEAKER_04]: Karma's going to come get him at some point.
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_04]: It may be it's in the form of the Oklahoma sooner.
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_04]: It's coming to the big house this week.
- 1:12:51[SPEAKER_02]: It may come in the form of John material.
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_02]: Just I got to ask you, stick it on college sports here.
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_02]: College athletics.
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm trying to read.
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't have great eyesight.
- 1:12:59[SPEAKER_02]: You can tell I have probably the biggest frames in the world on these lenses.
- 1:13:03[SPEAKER_02]: So it says Indians picture has your years.
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously pretty cool.
- 1:13:08[SPEAKER_02]: You got to pitch here for the tribe.
- 1:13:10[SPEAKER_02]: Multi-time Emmy winner also very cool.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_02]: I all not to do that in my life.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_02]: The Vanity Whistler is the third thing There are you the Vanity Whistler?
- 1:13:20[SPEAKER_04]: No, there's no way that that's on there.
- 1:13:22[SPEAKER_04]: There's no quick.
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_04]: I tell you you guys would laugh So my freshman year or first game under the Tim Corbin era in T.C.
- 1:13:32[SPEAKER_04]: Still there making Vanderbilt a dynasty that it is
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_04]: I want to say that we had Maggie his his wife and maybe a handful of parents that made it into town that was it and it it was cold but Vanderbilt baseball I remember Tim telling the story he and Maggie kind of had a conversation at the game like oh my god did we make a huge mistake.
- 1:13:54[SPEAKER_04]: know they did not for those that don't know we ended up that freshman year sweeping Tennessee and hitting the home run heard round Nashville worst got walk off home against luko chaver would be a a number one overall selection later on that year and we punched our ticket to Hoover Alabama where the South Eastern Conference baseball tournament is still is today that was the groundwork that laid the foundation for where we are
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_04]: as a baseball powerhouse in Vanderbilt and Nashville.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_04]: So, Mil, Mil, how the stadium has changed, Jack.
- 1:14:27[SPEAKER_04]: It is a lot of money that has been put in there.
- 1:14:30[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of top recruiting classes, and of course a couple of national champion chip trophies to boot.
- 1:14:36[SPEAKER_04]: So, I am not the whistler.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_04]: He does great work in really annoying the opposing side and that usually translates to W's there at Hawkinsfield.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, Jensen, before we get your thoughts on if this guard's team is going to the playoffs if they're going to win the division, the big question of the day on the YouTube channel is will the guardians win the AL Central?
- 1:14:57[SPEAKER_02]: 62% of voters coming in saying no, wildcard is the ceiling for this ball club, Jensen year response to the good people at Cleveland.
- 1:15:06[SPEAKER_04]: So I think the White Sox have enough to win the division and I would look at the finishing stands at two here for the Guardians, you know, you're on the road and two critical series against Baltimore in Minnesota.
- 1:15:19[SPEAKER_04]: Then it's a homestand, you know, the head to heads against the White Sox.
- 1:15:22[SPEAKER_04]: This is what you ask for.
- 1:15:23[SPEAKER_04]: Final homestand of the year, you want to have meaningful baseball and maybe the division is decided in that series.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_04]: But then you have the athletics,
- 1:15:33[SPEAKER_04]: Then you go to Boston and Kansas City.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_04]: And guys, that's a tricky road trip to finish up.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_04]: Boston may be playing for seating for that top wild card with the Yankees.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_04]: The Yankees do have the tiebreaker over the red socks and the season series.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_04]: So that's critical.
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_04]: And then the Royals.
- 1:15:49[SPEAKER_04]: Guys, the Royals have been one of the best teams since the trade.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they really have been playing the role of spoiler.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_04]: We'll let matter a win an
- 1:16:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think the White Sucks have enough to win the division, but I would need the guardians to be in a playoff spot, at least occupying a wild card spot by the time they get on the plane to go to Fenway Park to start that final road trip.
- 1:16:15[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, one last question here, Jensen.
- 1:16:17[SPEAKER_03]: Big football game this weekend, Ohio State Texas.
- 1:16:20[SPEAKER_03]: Who you taking in this one?
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_04]: I obviously will take our buck guys.
- 1:16:24[SPEAKER_04]: I'm interested more.
- 1:16:27[SPEAKER_04]: Chris, when we get to game day, I believe the buck guys open point to half, maybe a two point dog.
- 1:16:35[SPEAKER_04]: I wonder if they get bet down to pick them.
- 1:16:38[SPEAKER_04]: I wonder if this goes off as a pick them.
- 1:16:40[SPEAKER_04]: By the time we get to kick off on Saturday night, they're deep in the heart of Texas.
- 1:16:44[SPEAKER_04]: So if you can gobble up the point to half right now, absolutely would grab that.
- 1:16:49[SPEAKER_04]: And I tell you, I think you're going to see a healthy dose of Jeremiah Smith getting the ball early.
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_04]: If you can get Bo Jackson to establish a running attack, get that line of scrimmage going, put all the pressure.
- 1:16:59[SPEAKER_04]: This is more of a must win for Steve's Archision, Arch Manning and Company that it is for Ohio State.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_04]: Again, we want to win all the games, but I think this is more pressure on the long horns than it is the buck guys.
- 1:17:12[SPEAKER_03]: completely agree, great analysis there.
- 1:17:14[SPEAKER_03]: So run out there, put your money down on Ohio State, as you can get it right now with that point and half.
- 1:17:20[SPEAKER_03]: Good stuff.
- 1:17:21[SPEAKER_02]: And Genson, we have two quick, you could just give one word answers for these.
- 1:17:25[SPEAKER_02]: But the one guardians, one not guardians question.
- 1:17:28[SPEAKER_02]: If the guards are to come out and win the division, who is the player, who's the X factor, that's gonna stop up and then your top three cereals.
- 1:17:37[SPEAKER_04]: Top, okay.
- 1:17:38[SPEAKER_04]: So, so Rokey, we got to go with Rokey.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's his month.
- 1:17:41[SPEAKER_04]: So he's the X factor.
- 1:17:43[SPEAKER_04]: My top three cereals.
- 1:17:45[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 1:17:45[SPEAKER_04]: So I've always been a Coco Pebbles guy.
- 1:17:48[SPEAKER_04]: Shout out to the Flintstones.
- 1:17:50[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but how do you pebbles?
- 1:17:52[SPEAKER_04]: Pretty pebbles.
- 1:17:52[SPEAKER_04]: It was okay.
- 1:17:53[SPEAKER_04]: I was just more a chocolate guy.
- 1:17:54[SPEAKER_04]: So Coco Pebbles was one corn pops was two for me and then lucky charms was not a lot of daylight though between those three very interchangeable for the top spot.
- 1:18:04[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so they're they're all competing still.
- 1:18:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's a it's an ever moving list you can say it's an evolving thing day of the week time of the year and any of those three could be number one well we'll have to update once the series break the new brands for the year comes springtime jensen Thank you so much for joining us hopefully the guards and bucks get some wins this week.
- 1:18:24[SPEAKER_04]: You got it.
- 1:18:24[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks boys
- 1:18:26[SPEAKER_02]: Chris, now that we've let Jensen go, we've got a couple of minutes until the guards and the Orioles, I was gonna say kick off.
- 1:18:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so in football mode of the minute.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_02]: Uh-huh.
- 1:18:37[SPEAKER_02]: First, first start.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_02]: First start.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_03]: Right?
- 1:18:39[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
- 1:18:40[SPEAKER_03]: Once it starts, it starts with football.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly, yeah.
- 1:18:43[SPEAKER_02]: Once football goes, like you're on a one track mind.
- 1:18:46[SPEAKER_02]: Chris, what is your biggest key for the guards?
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_02]: To knock off the O's in the series.
- 1:18:50[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe you get to get a win today.
- 1:18:51[SPEAKER_03]: First of all, Jensen mentioned lucky charms.
- 1:18:54[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's the best thing in Ohio.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_03]: It's, you know, if you're driving up 71, you can go and hit grandpa's cheese barn and at grandpa's cheese barn, you can buy just the marshmallows from that, which is just fantastic.
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_03]: years ago, they made a cereal, which was basically just the marshmallows from that.
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_03]: And it's one of the greatest things going is that you can actually do that.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_03]: You talk about Americana.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_03]: There is nothing more American than that.
- 1:19:17[SPEAKER_03]: Being able to just cut out all that stuff with its useless fiber and all those potential vitamins and minerals and just give me the marshmallows.
- 1:19:26[SPEAKER_03]: The fact that you can buy those just clean, that's just fantastic.
- 1:19:29[SPEAKER_02]: Chris, I just, I mean, I logged as a little kid, just like getting all the grains off to one side of the bowl.
- 1:19:35[SPEAKER_02]: But you do feel like such a piece of crap when all your eating are just the lucky chart marshmallows.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_03]: We don't think ahead.
- 1:19:42[SPEAKER_03]: We think about now.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_03]: That is true.
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's the way that this thing works.
- 1:19:45[SPEAKER_03]: And it's the same thing for the guardians.
- 1:19:47[SPEAKER_03]: Forget about, we've talked a lot about whether we're going to win the division, whether we're going to get the wild card right now.
- 1:19:53[SPEAKER_03]: We got to beat the O's, the O's aren't that good.
- 1:19:56[SPEAKER_03]: And this is a team that needs to come out and I want to hit is what I want to do.
- 1:20:00[SPEAKER_03]: I want to write off the bat, I want to take a lead early and I want to make sure that we are and come the eighth and ninth inning, not worried about walk offs or close games or anything else.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_03]: Just take it to them, make it easy on yourself on the road.
- 1:20:14[SPEAKER_03]: And that's going to be key for this team for this entire week, I think, Jack.
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I always have the same key of the game when Joey Kentill is on the mound that is just please don't be down three nothing after two innings.
- 1:20:24[SPEAKER_02]: That is always my goal for a Joey Kentill to start because I would love to know Joey Kentill is ERA from like the third to the fifth.
- 1:20:30[SPEAKER_02]: I would bet you it is a billion times better than the first time through the order.
- 1:20:34[SPEAKER_03]: So I want Joey to get on this first minute or earlier is overall ERA is like 3.99 so it's not all that bad.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_03]: No, not at all.
- 1:20:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's situationally, it's just like it'll make you pull your hair out.
- 1:20:44[SPEAKER_03]: You either get good Cantillo, bad Cantillo.
- 1:20:46[SPEAKER_03]: There's times you say, wow, this guy could be at the top of our rotation.
- 1:20:49[SPEAKER_03]: And other times you're like, pull him out of the rotation.
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's literally because it's like he, he'll throw like a beautiful change up and get a guy just whiffing in the dirt and you're like, oh, wow, like I forgot this guy has this stuff.
- 1:20:59[SPEAKER_02]: But then the next three of bats see throws one strike and you're like, I mean, he can't even find the strike zone.
- 1:21:04[SPEAKER_03]: And that's where the hitting's going to come in.
- 1:21:05[SPEAKER_03]: No matter what he ends up doing, I think we got to be able to hit a little bit.
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_03]: Do it more consistently.
- 1:21:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we're all having fun with all these walk offs right now.
- 1:21:12[SPEAKER_03]: No doubt about it.
- 1:21:13[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't trade this weekend for anything else.
- 1:21:15[SPEAKER_03]: But man, it's also fun if you go back to the 95 Indians where they're just crushing teams and hitting the ball out of the ball park.
- 1:21:21[SPEAKER_03]: So it'd be nice if we got a little bit more timely hitting on this ball club.
- 1:21:24[SPEAKER_03]: You don't have that kind of power, obviously, that they had back in the day.
- 1:21:27[SPEAKER_03]: But just when you got runners in scoring positions, score them, score early, make it easy on the guardians this week.
- 1:21:34[SPEAKER_02]: That is all the time we have for today's episode of Big Play Cleveland.
- 1:21:37[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back tomorrow.
- 1:21:38[SPEAKER_02]: Chef say talking some browns a little bit of a guard's playoff race.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_02]: All that good stuff.
- 1:21:42[SPEAKER_02]: We'll catch you tomorrow.
