  Charlie pointed up. He had this authentic real love for Jesus Christ and his conservative philosophy

  was an outgrowth of that but he would go to these campuses I would speak at his women's event

  and he would speak to lonely people who were lost on social media, felt empty, felt depressed

  on college campuses and he would give them hope in Jesus Christ and the last thing I would say

  I know that I know that I know that I know this. Charlie Kirk did not die today. Yes he left his

  body but I guarantee you when he took his last breath the first words that he heard were Jesus

  Christ saying well done my good and faithful servant. I'm thinking of Erica she's a beautiful

  beautiful mom a beautiful woman beautiful writer I'm thinking of his kids but I know we're
• 0:49

  issues here with our good friend Heidi Saint John and then we're going to tell you what we're

  celebrating. Heidi welcome thank you so much for all you do and thanks for your time today so

  Saint John.com you're going to share in a few minutes about you did a couple speaking events with

  Charlie Kirk and you did some work with Turning Point USA and we were having a great conversation

  before we got on the air here but we are recording this podcast friends 24 hours after Charlie Kirk

  was assassinated and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and you are watching this

  about a week maybe week and a half after it happens so it's still very raw I think a lot of us
• 2:28
  are still processing and some of you probably are too I think for weeks and for months perhaps
• 2:35
  we'll be not trying to make sense of it comes we understand the spiritual warfare involved but we
• 2:39
  will be processing and seeing how people out of the church is going to react and how what kind
• 2:44
  of worldviews going to prevail we know in the end truth wins but Heidi I want to announce we're

  very thankful for what God has done in two years here it's our two-year anniversary on worldview
• 2:55
  matters and we want to bring up some stats that I wasn't even aware of the podcast I've been told

  is on pace to accrue more than two million downloads this year we're in the top 50 last I heard

  we're 38 number 38 in the top 50 Christian podcasts on Apple what a 650 percent increase or

  jump in the last year in subscribers and top countries America of course USA Canada Australia

  and the UK and we are just blessed we give all glory to God I want to bring in some of the people

  I gotta say you know it says a lot that people want to hear about the truth and they want to hear

  a biblical worldview God's words should inform every aspect of the life of a believer and that's
• 4:32
  what you've been working so hard to do here I love coming on your show and talking about things
• 4:36
  that matter so congratulations well deserved praise God and thank you and uh in the last week we
• 4:42
  can have now we've been sharing a lot of quotes on people that knew Charlie Kirk and they were
• 4:47
  dear friends and just the the amazing work and the impact that he has had on the country
• 4:53
  on the younger generation in particular I want to just quote Eric Metaxis who said Charlie Kirk
• 4:59
  was an American hero and one of the most gifted human beings I've ever met more importantly he stood
• 5:05
  he understood that faith in Jesus was the most important thing in this world he would want
• 5:12
  everyone who admired him to give their lives to Jesus so do it and so we've been sharing the gospel
• 5:20
  loudly and proudly here in the last several weeks I think we need to be about God's business Heidi
• 5:26
  and the church needs to look at these opportunities now a lot of people are wondering what's going on
• 5:31
  they're maybe scared maybe there's uncertainty obviously there's just divisiveness your thoughts
• 5:36
  on where we're at and how we can use this as an opportunity well like like everybody uh you know
• 5:45
  my uh I've kind of been processing through the stages of grief the first thing that I thought was
• 5:50
  this cannot be happening you know this cannot be happening in the United States but then of course
• 5:54
  we know that the our country isn't a very uh tenuous position right now thanks to the policies
• 6:01
  of the radical left in this country and our nation has been torn apart ideologically and one of the
• 6:06
  things that I love so much about Charlie is that he was unapologetic about his biblical view of the
• 6:14
  world and he took that biblical that biblical view and he infused it into his personal life he
• 6:19
  infused it into his family into his marriage he had his priorities right and he believed in the
• 6:25
  greatness of America and he believed that we can still live the American dream and so he was
• 6:30
  trying to and I'm you know cut down really in the prime of his life as he was trying to bring the
• 6:36
  truth of the message of the gospel to college campuses across the United States and I think this
• 6:42
  is just going to be the beginning and I was uh telling my husband you know uh that evening and we
• 6:47
  spent a lot of time I'm sure like you did crying I I knew Charlie but not very well I spoke at several
• 6:53
  of his events um I was not nearly as close to him as some of my friends are I think uh Pastor Rob
• 6:59
  McCoy and Pastor Jack Hibbs and several people that I uh do know very well who are just reeling from
• 7:06
  this loss and I said to my husband that evening as we wept together and prayed for Erica and their
• 7:12
  children that maybe God gave him the name turning point because knowing that Charlie was going to
• 7:20
  die this way really will be a turning point in the nation and I hope that that is what happens I
• 7:28
  hope this is a turning point I hope we see God's people again begin to take the stage and defend
• 7:35
  the truth that's really what he was doing he was cut down on the prime of his life for the crime
• 7:40
  of going to college campuses and engaging in in uh good faith dialogue with people with whom he
• 7:47
  disagreed and for that he has lost his life uh what a terrible moment in in uh this is going to go
• 7:53
  down as probably one of the worst days in American history I think it's right up there with the
• 7:57
  assassination of Martin Luther King the way it's affecting the country and uh in it highlights the
• 8:02
  spiritual battle that we're in yeah or at least how it's affecting half the country oh I had to
• 8:07
  say that didn't I um but let's pick up the baton friends let's not back down there's a there's a
• 8:13
  human uh maybe tendency to kind of back off and go wait a minute okay I don't want to be in the
• 8:18
  front lines if that's a possibility that that could happen to me he knew very well that there was
• 8:23
  that could happen anyone in the public eye you've received threats you've had you know these so
• 8:30
  anyway we've all faced the fact that if we're going to be boldly standing for the truth on
• 8:35
  God's word it is not popular and uh the truth is hate to those who hate the truth I keep saying that
• 8:41
  but um let's bring up TP USA real quick I love what they put up just the photo and the dedication
• 8:48
  to Charlie it just gives people an idea of how massive of an influence he's already had at 31
• 8:55
  years old and now hopefully a little it'll grow but bring up um there there's a photo that comes
• 9:00
  up or a pop up that comes up look at that the largest conservative movement he's done amazing
• 9:07
  work he's reached the the millennials he's reached generation Z and Heidi there's a lot of statistics
• 9:12
  that say some of them are really turning and they're open to spiritual things they're seeking the
• 9:18
  truth I've heard some that are questioning what church is all about your thoughts on that his
• 9:24
  reach and how maybe he's had more of an impact than we realize in the church on younger people
• 9:30
  yeah well his influence cannot be overstated uh I was privileged just recently to be at the
• 9:37
  opening of a movie put out by CBN called revival generation and they were highlighting
• 9:42
  what is happening with generation Z these people have had it with the hypocrisy of my generation you
• 9:48
  know uh you know people who grew up in the 70s and 80s and frankly on the heels of people who grew
• 9:53
  up in the 50s and 60s our country's been going downhill spiritually downhill economically downhill
• 9:59
  morally and then generation Z is looking for answers and Charlie knew how to read the room he read
• 10:06
  the room before most of us understood that there was something happening and he was able to capitalize
• 10:12
  on a vision that god gave him to bring the truth to college campuses and teach these young people
• 10:18
  that there that what they see with their eyes isn't wrong and and he gave them I think the courage
• 10:25
  to ask the right questions he showed young people what it means to engage in dialogue in this country
• 10:32
  that is respectful and let the bat because it's really a battle of ideas and this battle is
• 10:37
  raging in our country right now we've got the rise of Islam and Charlie has been talking about
• 10:41
  that quite a bit recently and I hope that young people now I hope that we get 10th out there will
• 10:48
  never be another Charlie Kirk but I hope that there will be 10,000 people with his vision that
• 10:53
  share that vision and move that vision forward because I think we're going to see revival break out
• 10:58
  in the younger generations and I'm excited about that I don't think that Charlie's death is going
• 11:04
  to be in vain the Bible teaches us that what Satan means for evil god will use for good the Bible
• 11:09
  does not say he might use it for good it says he will use it for good and I think we're going to
• 11:14
  see that but we're going to have to every single one of us be willing to do our part this is a
• 11:20
  spiritual battle and you know this David because you and I have talked about before spiritual
• 11:25
  battles require spiritual weapons which is why Charlie was so focused on proclaiming the gospel
• 11:31
  he didn't just talk about socialism and didn't just talk about the rise of radical Islam in the
• 11:35
  United States he didn't just talk about why he's a believer in capitalism and why he loves the
• 11:39
  country he said that the most important decision these young people would ever make would be to
• 11:45
  follow Jesus and give him their life that is where we start amen and the Bible also says our
• 11:51
  labor in the Lord is never in vain so let's not worry and and and lose heart because we will
• 11:58
  reap if we do not give up um I just pulled up this this one page that I printed out recently

  as what you were talking about this was over at washingtonstan.com and it says generation z's
• 12:10
  conservative shift trump covid and social media's role and I will add that Charlie Kirk had something
• 12:17
  to do with that as well that is a good thing there are some good things happening the left can't
• 12:21
  stand it um by the way a day or two before the assassination of Charlie Kirk I saw what look like
• 12:28
  well I won't want to call it a revival but on the campus of Ohio state they were holding that some
• 12:34
  of the football players were holding like a baptism and they were preaching the gospel
• 12:38
  and they were getting people to even go wow that's that's definitely not a conservative campus
• 12:43
  but this is happening in pockets across the country we need this Heidi these are young people
• 12:49
  doing this not pastors and not churches isn't that interesting the church is not leading and now
• 12:56
  we're at a time where people are desperate for someone to step up and lead and your thoughts on that

  well I I agree with you I was recently in Washington DC to participate in a faith office event
• 13:09
  there with Paula white and my husband and I took a stroll through George Washington University's
• 13:14
  campus and if anyone's familiar with George Washington University then you know it's one of the
• 13:18
  most liberal left-leaning college campuses anywhere in the country and what I saw there was so
• 13:25
  exciting and encouraging to me I saw yard signs in the grass all over campus inviting young people
• 13:31
  to come and hear about Jesus and to come to campus Bible study listen I've been to Washington DC a
• 13:36
  lot over the years I was there quite a bit when I was running for Congress and I've never seen
• 13:40
  anything like that and you know at at GW so to me there is definitely something happening Charlie
• 13:47
  Kirk was ahead of it he was ahead of his time really and I am excited to see what God is going to
• 13:55
  do as we pick up the baton now that Charlie has passed to the next generation and I think are I

  think we've got good things ahead of us the question is just going to be will God's people engage
• 14:07
  are we going to get off the bench and onto the battlefield that really is the question one of your
• 14:11
  taglines it used to be off the bench into the game then it turned into a battlefield now Heidi when
• 14:16
  did it when did that happen I'm kidding well you know me man that's that's my that's my jam let's

  get in the game what's wrong with you guys yeah so by the way we mentioned on a previous podcast

  Ben Shapiro had a lot of positive words and just really commending Charlie for his work and the
• 14:35
  amazing impact and reach that Charlie had but also said he encouraged people conservatives to pick
• 14:42
  up the baton and then the very next day he announced that he is going to go to college campuses
• 14:50
  and I think he's going to do the same tour pick up with turning point USA don't quote me on that
• 14:55
  but I think that's what I've heard so some fascinating things happening and I think like you said
• 15:01
  before we got on the podcast those of us who have some sort of influence small or great have to
• 15:07
  say you know what it's this is time this is time for God to work through the body of Christ let's not
• 15:13
  back down let's be loving let's be respectful don't repay evil for evil as scripture encourages
• 15:20
  us to but let us continue to stand on the word of God and the truth because in the end truth wins Heidi
• 15:26
  I want to I've quote that I want to read for you and then I want to get your thoughts back to
• 15:32
  social media one of the many many many many quotes and there were thousands this one was
• 15:38
  interesting Joshua Dubois said political violence stems from the inability to see those with
• 15:43
  different political beliefs as fellow humans made in the image of God we devalue them believing
• 15:51
  their life matters less than our own Charlie Kirk was a human being a husband a son a child of
• 15:57
  God his life did not deserve to end this way the moment we allow contempt to harden into cruelty
• 16:05
  and cruelty to metastasize into murder we have not only lost our politics we have lost our souls
• 16:12
  disagreement as part of democracy dehumanization is not your thoughts well the the very fact that
• 16:21
  he uses the word dehumanization makes me think of what happened in the Holocaust when the Nazis
• 16:28
  dehumanize the Jews it's how we get rid of the youngest among us through abortion we dehumanize
• 16:33
  them we say they're not human and we see this conversation happening Charlie Kirk engaged in
• 16:37
  college campuses all across the United States the dehumanization of anyone with whom we disagree
• 16:43
  is demonic in nature just like the Holocaust was demonic just like the Holocaust of our unborn
• 16:49
  in the United States is demonic and we need to remember that each one of us has intrinsic value
• 16:54
  not because of what we believe or don't believe but because we're made in the image of God
• 16:58
  and so we get our our worldview and our values from the word of God and as we get the opportunity now

  to pick up the baton that Charlie has put down and run the race that has been set before us
• 17:11
  we need to keep in mind one thing it's very important God didn't give us a spirit of fear the
• 17:16
  Bible teaches us that our days have been ordained for us so before we take a single breath outside
• 17:23
  of our mother's womb the Bible decrees that God has already ordained the days to which we are
• 17:29
  going to live on this earth we have a very limited number of days that God gives each of us the
• 17:34
  question is David what are we going to do with those days we could succumb to the spirit of fear
• 17:40
  which right Paul said to Timothy God didn't give you a spirit of fear Timothy but power and love
• 17:46
  and a sound mind and when you understand that your days have been ordained for you and if if
• 17:52
  September 10th was the days that God had ordained for Charlie Kirk which I believe that they were
• 17:58
  then it was going to be it didn't he could be reading a book to his daughter and die from a heart attack

  when your days are are numbered then God's plan you believe that he's sovereign and that plan
• 18:08
  is playing out and every single one of us has days that have already been ordained for us we
• 18:14
  when you once you believe that it takes the fear out of walking in obedience before the Lord
• 18:19
  and everyone that I know I'm familiar as you are David with lots of people that speak for a living
• 18:24
  I I am a very public figure in my own right and had my life threatened many times over the years
• 18:31
  and if I believed that that my days weren't in the hands of the Lord I would be afraid
• 18:38
  but I'm not afraid because I know that as long as I am here and as long as I have breath my job
• 18:44
  is to walk in obedience that is the job of every believer we're not here for no reason we're here
• 18:50
  to get a job done Charlie understood this he ran his race he finished well and I believe that the
• 18:57
  moment that bullet entered his body he heard in the very next breath well done good and faithful
• 19:02
  servant and that is what I want to hear someday and Lord willing Lord willing and come Lord Jesus

  let's talk about worldview a little bit more I headline Tim Cain raised eyebrows on Capitol Hill

  with some of the Democrats there on the left who don't believe in prayer he argued that rights come
• 19:21
  from government not God well that's gonna tweak your behavior if you really believe that Heidi
• 19:27
  that's unpacked well I mean someone needs to teach this man the history of America someone
• 19:33
  needs to read the Declaration of Independence to him and the Constitution our founding fathers
• 19:38
  understood implicitly that our rights don't come from government they come from God because if
• 19:42
  the government can give you your rights you can take it away Tim Cain has no place in the government
• 19:47
  of the United States if he doesn't understand something as basic as where our human rights come from
• 19:52
  he is a disgrace of a politician and frankly this kind of stuff really fries me because
• 19:58
  these people who we have allowed to ascend to the highest positions of authority in our country
• 20:03
  who hate the country need to step down and we need people who love the country love the found
• 20:09
  listen this is where I'm at David if someone doesn't love our country get out if you don't like the
• 20:14
  the Constitution of the United States if you're not if you don't believe that our rights were
• 20:18
  inherently given to us by God and that each one of us has intrinsic value because we were created
• 20:23
  in the image of God go somewhere else go somewhere else but instead these people are coming to our
• 20:29
  country and trying to change the landscape of the nation into something it was never intended to be
• 20:34
  and unfortunately Christians have been told to be quiet when it relates to politics and I hope
• 20:39
  this is a wake-up call we cannot afford to be quiet when God's people removed themselves from the
• 20:44
  political discussion evil fills the vacuum and our nation's vacuum has been filled with evil
• 20:50
  ideologies and evil people and we have an opportunity right now to start rooting them out and I
• 20:55
  pray to God that we will amen someone's morality will be legislated through Congress on Capitol
• 21:03
  Hill and by the way that it's not necessarily people that are it is immigrants coming in wanting to
• 21:08
  not assimilate but change America but it's people that grew up Tim Cain and others like him

  you know and it frustrates me is they won't leave for another country they want to change what we have

  and what we've been so blessed with blessed by God but we've got to move on Heidi running out of time

  I want to go briefly and talk about lawlessness I don't first of all at least two weekends ago

  I don't have the recent stats but at least seven were killed in Chicago 12 more wounded

  and that would mean over the last couple of weeks approximately 50 people were killed

  hundreds were shot in Chicago and now I want to go to this next one because it's about lawlessness
• 21:46
  and the name is Irina Zaruzka I don't want this to drop out of your feet news feed friends I don't
• 21:53
  want you to forget about what happened in North Carolina Irina Zaruzka because the media's silence
• 21:59
  on this young woman 23-year-old from Ukraine moved here with her mom started working I believe
• 22:04
  at a pizza place she was killed in North Carolina by a black man who had been arrested I believe 14
• 22:10
  times yes 14 times lawlessness Heidi your thoughts on this well you can lay this the blame for this
• 22:18
  directly at the feet of the Democrats in this country who have been trying to defund the police
• 22:23
  and tell us that we should go soft on crime and they have you know black lives matter and all the
• 22:28
  things to me it is absolutely disgusting that this is being allowed to happen in the United States
• 22:33
  in the first place and for those of us who are watching this thing sort of play out in real time
• 22:39
  what it happened the most shocking part of it was that the mayors of these towns these leftist
• 22:44
  towns are spending more time defending the criminal than they are trying to bring justice to the victims
• 22:50
  this is a sickness in our leadership and it needs to stop and it will not stop until we change our
• 22:56
  voting in this country and until good people again with commonsense who know what a man is and what a
• 23:02
  woman is and what real racism actually looks like can actually ascend to positions of authority in
• 23:08
  the country and start making policy Christians need to engage in the political sphere politics
• 23:14
  determines policy policy shapes nations we are dying by a thousand paper cuts at a time and what
• 23:20
  we saw play out on a public transport in Charlotte North Carolina is the tip of the iceberg if we
• 23:27
  don't start taking advantage of the opportunity we have to regain some common sense in this country
• 23:33
  agreed amen and let's take it a little bit deeper here our friend Alex Newman over at Liberty Sentinel
• 23:39
  said the left paid this North Carolina county over three million dollars to release criminals
• 23:48
  I'm not making this up it's according to the documents show they wanted to reduce the jail
• 23:53
  population so they're paying police departments to keep minorities out of jail and look what's
• 23:59
  happening surprise surprise Heidi where do we go from here because there's people that really
• 24:05
  believe this is helping but it's leading to more lawlessness and we're trying to fight this with
• 24:10
  law and order it's it's a big divide isn't it well it's a big divide and I think people need to
• 24:16
  remember not to not to change the direction of the conversation but so much of this leftist ideology
• 24:22
  and again you can you can lay the blame for this garbage directly at the feet of the Democrats
• 24:27
  and the radical left in this country who seem absolutely hell bent on promoting things that
• 24:33
  injure ordinary Americans from their tax policies to their crime policies and these things are
• 24:38
  coming out of our woke universities and our schools and if we don't get a handle on education in
• 24:44
  this country and David Unife had this conversation before we're going to continue to see the rise of
• 24:50
  leftism in the country because these kids are being taught to hate the country in our colleges
• 24:56
  and universities yes and President Trump is trying to stop it but it won't we we can get a good
• 25:00
  president this time and Lord willing and a few years from now we'll get another good president
• 25:05
  but if we don't get a handle on what's being taught in our universities if we don't start seeing
• 25:10
  more Charlie Kirk like figures on our college campuses trying to undo the damage that left is done
• 25:16
  through education where our country is not long for this world and I genuinely believe that
• 25:22
  I think if it continues and we do not address the education crisis in this country it won't matter
• 25:27
  who we elect because we will be outnumbered in the end because of the indoctrination of our children
• 25:33
  by the radical left through our high schools and our universities and I can't see it changing at
• 25:38
  the university level but with God all things are possible it's just going to take a lot more effort
• 25:44
  maybe more grassroots effort because we've talked about education a lot no you're
• 25:48
  advocate for homeschooling we get we talk to a lot of people who are Alex Newman, Sam Sorbo,
• 25:53
  so many others but I want to close with a quote and get your final thoughts Heidi St. John

  first John chapter 2 starting verse 15 says do not love the world or the things in the world
• 26:04
  if anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in him for all that is in the world the
• 26:09
  lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life is not from the father but
• 26:14
  it is from the world the world is passing away and also it's lusts but the one who does the will of
• 26:21
  God lives forever we know that Charlie Kirk is living forever we long we will one day also
• 26:29
  in eternity with our Lord and Savior so back on the positive note 400 episodes we have the hope

  of Christ and that carries us sometimes doesn't it yeah and I think for the believer

  and we talked about this we've been talking about this now for the last several days we do not

  grieve as a people who do not have hope when Charlie Kirk's life was taken from him he step

  I genuinely leave this he stepped from this world into glory he is more alive now than he has
• 26:56
  ever been his body is no longer alive but he is very much alive and every one of us has an

  opportunity to determine right now who we are going to serve we have one life one opportunity and
