- 0:04Speaker 1: See the podcast called twenty five whist sucking for and
- 0:08Speaker 1: they went a whistle, Yes, you bed, but what did
- 0:12Speaker 1: you expect?
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles twenty wine. I
- 0:18Speaker 2: got a whistle? What that we're on? We're on, mother Juckas.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I didn't get to watch a lot of the basketball
- 0:27Speaker 2: game last night because I was watching OU win natural
- 0:29Speaker 2: championship again. Dang family, man, that is crazy. I watched
- 0:35Speaker 2: a bit on my phone, but I never fully could
- 0:36Speaker 2: commit Kevin. So we'll talk about the NBA playoffs per second.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I did bet a thousand bucks last night on the
- 0:44Speaker 2: Mavericks plus six and a half.
- 0:45Speaker 3: What the so?
- 0:46Speaker 2: How do you do that? So I lost a thousand bucks?
- 0:48Speaker 4: Thousand bucks?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Uh huh, how do you do that? I thought that
- 0:52Speaker 2: number was a little high, so I was gonna chase it.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Hey, I thought that betting amountain number was pretty high.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I think I'm let me got.
- 1:00Speaker 5: Our draft Kings had nine and a half to before
- 1:03Speaker 5: the game, right, I think I got.
- 1:04Speaker 2: It at six. I'll look at it all all. The
- 1:06Speaker 2: number I'm for sure of is the one thousand number.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Because I was like, you know what, I feel pretty
- 1:10Speaker 2: good about this, which shows him, I don't know. Crap.
- 1:14Speaker 1: That's the NBA, dude, it's the NBA. It's the hardest
- 1:16Speaker 1: thing to bet on by far.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Here's what I put my Beting's easier, okay, Eddie, Yeah,
- 1:24Speaker 2: because she as soon.
- 1:25Speaker 4: As one team goes on a run, the other team,
- 1:26Speaker 4: you know it's coming.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Reading. This is the bet from last night, right, So
- 1:30Speaker 2: that bet, that Caitlin Clark bet is old. Okay, the
- 1:32Speaker 2: middle one, all right.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It's got that big red lost thing lost. That's like,
- 1:37Speaker 1: that's what mine looks like. Dallas Mavericks plus six and
- 1:40Speaker 1: a half pays minus one ten. Yeah, I wagered one
- 1:43Speaker 1: thousand dollars.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I really felt like I got all they could
- 1:47Speaker 2: win the game. And then so I didn't even watch
- 1:48Speaker 2: the first part of it, watching the softball game. And
- 1:50Speaker 2: then I put softball game over for a second, click click,
- 1:53Speaker 2: and I was like, oh god, they're now twenty points. Yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 2: and I kept checking back. At one time they got
- 1:57Speaker 2: within like eleven, I was like, let's go, he has
- 2:00Speaker 2: got to cover that points that plus six and a half.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And then close, man, yeah they only lost by eighteen.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah close. So I did see because I didn't watch
- 2:08Speaker 2: it at the beginning that Porzingis played and played well.
- 2:10Speaker 5: He was the best player on the court. Crazy either team,
- 2:12Speaker 5: the best player on.
- 2:13Speaker 4: The court all night.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Twenty first half, twenty in the game.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I think the first half maybe like twelve thirteen.
- 2:20Speaker 2: How many minutes did he played total?
- 2:21Speaker 4: Twenty two minutes.
- 2:22Speaker 5: Wow, twenty one minutes, twenty points, six rebounds.
- 2:25Speaker 2: He's good. I mean he could hurt next game, but
- 2:27Speaker 2: that's good. He had my good, solid game.
- 2:29Speaker 5: He was I mean defensively he was the best player
- 2:31Speaker 5: on the floor too. He was blocking shots, he was
- 2:33Speaker 5: altering shots. He was unbelievable. And I can't help but
- 2:36Speaker 5: think he's been.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Healthy for like two weeks.
- 2:38Speaker 5: Yeah, just waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, because
- 2:41Speaker 5: you don't come back and play twenty one minutes and
- 2:43Speaker 5: do what he did last night if you're haven't been
- 2:45Speaker 5: healthy for at least a week or two.
- 2:46Speaker 2: It was scrimmaging. Yeah, but again not same intensity. But
- 2:50Speaker 2: good for him. I hate to see anybody that's injured.
- 2:53Speaker 2: It's gonna be interesting see what Dallas does again. Game
- 2:56Speaker 2: one A Game two are in Boston. I didn't expect
- 2:58Speaker 2: to blow out like this, Obviously, I have been a
- 2:59Speaker 2: thousand bucks on and half. I didn't really believe the
- 3:02Speaker 2: Mavericks would win. I thought maybe they'd keep it close,
- 3:05Speaker 2: but I believe they would win. I'd about the money line. Yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 2: so yeah, I lost thousand bucks there, but I did
- 3:09Speaker 2: bet five hundred on Oklahoma to win. Oh there you go,
- 3:12Speaker 2: uh game two of three, which they did. They won
- 3:15Speaker 2: game one and two, and so that's that bet.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I watched them the other day come back against Florida.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we watched that one.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, well, so they went in. All they
- 3:24Speaker 2: had to do was beat at Florida once, and Florida
- 3:26Speaker 2: beat them the first game. Yeah. So then it went
- 3:28Speaker 2: to Olahoma one again.
- 3:29Speaker 4: And they're up by are there?
- 3:30Speaker 5: Oklahoma was down by one right and like the six
- 3:33Speaker 5: or something, and they came back and I saw that tie.
- 3:35Speaker 4: I didn't see the full game. I din't see you
- 3:36Speaker 4: go to extras.
- 3:37Speaker 2: So they went to the best of three against Texas
- 3:39Speaker 2: and Texas was the one seed. So Oklahoma beat them
- 3:44Speaker 2: first game and beat them second game. Patty or coach Gaso,
- 3:46Speaker 2: as America will call her, is. She's won four national
- 3:50Speaker 2: championships in a row, never been done before. She has
- 3:53Speaker 2: eight total national championships. Now she's now tied all time
- 3:56Speaker 2: with some old guy from forever ago. It's amazing, Like
- 3:59Speaker 2: it was playing on like diferent rules were like four teams.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, that kind of stuff.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I mean you go back to that Florida game though,
- 4:05Speaker 1: and they were down, Yeah, they were down by two
- 4:08Speaker 1: runs when we started watching, which is I think the
- 4:11Speaker 1: fifth inning, and like just to come I mean right there,
- 4:14Speaker 1: you're like, oh man, this is tough, like two innings left,
- 4:17Speaker 1: you're down by two. They came back and they won
- 4:19Speaker 1: that game. And that's just that's just crazy because at
- 4:22Speaker 1: that moment you're like, oh my gosh, they're not going
- 4:23Speaker 1: to win it in Florida's gonna be Florida in Texas.
- 4:26Speaker 1: But now they did it.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Imagine being those players to so much pressure, like who's
- 4:29Speaker 5: gonna break four in a row? So now next year,
- 4:32Speaker 5: like those players, that's a lot of presser. Even this year,
- 4:34Speaker 5: just three in a row and we got to keep
- 4:36Speaker 5: this going. Now we break this chain. You don't want
- 4:38Speaker 5: to break that chain. You don't want to be on
- 4:39Speaker 5: that team.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And those freshmen they won every championship every year.
- 4:42Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Freshman sophomore, junior senior every year. I just texted Patty,
- 4:46Speaker 2: I don't want to text her last night because I've
- 4:48Speaker 2: been when they won the national championship and that night
- 4:50Speaker 2: goes on forever really because they win restaurant they get
- 4:55Speaker 2: their orange slices.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Uh.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Then there's a press conference which we went to right
- 4:59Speaker 2: after the game, and then she does that, and then
- 5:01Speaker 2: there's a big party and she doesn't go to the
- 5:04Speaker 2: first part of it. So that's the kid. You know
- 5:06Speaker 2: that they have fun that she shows up. It does
- 5:07Speaker 2: a thing, but all all the families there. We almost
- 5:11Speaker 2: went this year. Kaitlin was at feeling good, so we
- 5:13Speaker 2: kind of pulled back last minute.
- 5:14Speaker 5: I'm surprised you didn't, that's why.
- 5:16Speaker 2: What's what's the party? Like? What do you got? You
- 5:18Speaker 2: got cake, you got food? You got Kaylen's drink on
- 5:21Speaker 2: TV A bunch last night. Yeah, yeah, that sits with
- 5:26Speaker 2: the family. I mean dj' is too much access hat.
- 5:28Speaker 2: DJ was on And by the way, DJ Gasso is
- 5:31Speaker 2: my brother in law, Patty's son. DJ coaches at Arkansas now.
- 5:34Speaker 2: But DJ can't wear Oklahoma stuff. He's a coach at Arkansas, right,
- 5:38Speaker 2: he can't do that, so he's wear of a too
- 5:39Speaker 2: much access hat. It was all over freaking ESPN.
- 5:41Speaker 6: It was awesome.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that's really cool.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of food DJ DJ at the party.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that's all campaign or no, no, because the college.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Well, I mean there's there's alcohol. I think there was
- 5:52Speaker 2: alcohol there, but I don't know that was free for everybody.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Couldn't just go grab it.
- 5:55Speaker 1: And that's tough for you. You don't drink, so you're
- 5:57Speaker 1: not looking to see alcohol. That's the first thing for
- 6:00Speaker 1: when I go to a party.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Yeah, me too.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Are we serving here?
- 6:02Speaker 2: We're not?
- 6:02Speaker 4: What what's the vibes here?
- 6:04Speaker 2: You know?
- 6:05Speaker 4: Is there an open bar?
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yeah? So I imagine she didn't get in until one thirty
- 6:09Speaker 2: or something or two, so I didn't text her at all,
- 6:11Speaker 2: So I just ad pile me on, wait until today,
- 6:13Speaker 2: congratulate the goats of the goats. So cool. Four in
- 6:16Speaker 2: a freaking row.
- 6:17Speaker 5: So she the best of all time? Yes, coach in softball?
- 6:20Speaker 2: Well so just analytics data. We'll say data more than
- 6:25Speaker 2: analytics because it's not currently going no coaches everyone for
- 6:28Speaker 2: in a row. So she's the only Division one coach
- 6:33Speaker 2: to ever won four championships in a row, maybe the
- 6:35Speaker 2: only coach ever And then She's tied all time, like
- 6:38Speaker 2: I said, with eight national championships with some old dude
- 6:42Speaker 2: who won eight championships back again when they were like,
- 6:45Speaker 2: I don't know a team in this southeast of America,
- 6:50Speaker 2: Like I think I think Columbus had a team. The
- 6:51Speaker 2: Pilgrims had a team. That's pretty much it. Washington had
- 6:55Speaker 2: the Cherry Trees that they played.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yes, when are we going to do it too much
- 6:59Speaker 1: access with her?
- 7:00Speaker 2: We almost did this year and we're gonna go do
- 7:02Speaker 2: them and Oklahoma State and something something personal happened where
- 7:09Speaker 2: she couldn't be there that day, so we didn't go,
- 7:13Speaker 2: and then she got irritated. I Oklahoma State well to cancel.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm just curious, like maybe you know the
- 7:19Speaker 1: answer to this, but wow, what where does that success
- 7:22Speaker 1: come from? Like I know it's probably a mixture of things,
- 7:25Speaker 1: but recruiting's got to be a huge part.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Of that, right, Yeah, but you don't get the recruits
- 7:29Speaker 2: until you win. Yeah, you don't win until you get
- 7:30Speaker 2: the recruits. So it's like college football, you're turning around
- 7:32Speaker 2: a program. You kind of need a coach to come
- 7:34Speaker 2: in and change the culture and have a little more
- 7:36Speaker 2: winning than the last coach with the same players, especially
- 7:40Speaker 2: pre in IL. Now, if you in IL, if you
- 7:43Speaker 2: come in, you pay a bunch of money to a coach,
- 7:44Speaker 2: you give them a bunch of money. You can shift
- 7:46Speaker 2: a team that way. But that wasn't the case with her,
- 7:48Speaker 2: or wasn't the case with other programs. It doesn't matter
- 7:52Speaker 2: the sport. But if you look at like, let's say
- 7:54Speaker 2: an urban Meyer goes in or the best scenario is
- 7:57Speaker 2: whenever Nick Sable went to Alabama, they went six and six.
- 8:00Speaker 2: First year, they lost like Louisiana Monroe. Yeah, but he
- 8:03Speaker 2: did a bit like a game better than the last coach,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and so he got a little better with the same players,
- 8:08Speaker 2: and then was also a really good recruiter. So he
- 8:09Speaker 2: started pulling in slightly better players and better coaching, and
- 8:13Speaker 2: the recruits continue to ascend. And that's how you change
- 8:17Speaker 2: a program.
- 8:18Speaker 1: But if you give me or you the best players
- 8:21Speaker 1: in the nation, I don't think we could win, right, Like,
- 8:25Speaker 1: there's got to be something more than your recruit you
- 8:27Speaker 1: think you could.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah, because I hire great assistance. I'd be a CEO
- 8:30Speaker 2: had a if you're just by yourself, though, but that
- 8:33Speaker 2: doesn't happen anywhere.
- 8:34Speaker 4: But you had to go out and play the best
- 8:37Speaker 4: of three games. You can't.
- 8:38Speaker 5: No practicing, no nothing. You just go out there with
- 8:39Speaker 5: the best players like Eddy.
- 8:41Speaker 2: You have to choose, you Lie, I could manage it. Yeah, sure,
- 8:44Speaker 2: I'm just managing at that point. Yeah. With the skip about,
- 8:47Speaker 2: I can win them.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Also, when I watched the game the other day, I'm
- 8:49Speaker 5: glad I remember this right now. These pitchers are like
- 8:51Speaker 5: one hundred and fifty pitches.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Yeah, because the arm motion it's different. It's a very
- 8:56Speaker 2: nat The girl last night that ended up coming to
- 8:58Speaker 2: close had pitched the last two games, the last game
- 9:01Speaker 2: against Florida. You're talking about three consecutive days. So two
- 9:05Speaker 2: days ago, full game against Florida, yesterday, full game against Texas,
- 9:08Speaker 2: and they brought her in to close the game yesterday.
- 9:10Speaker 2: It's because the arm. Your arm does get tired. But
- 9:13Speaker 2: there's there are emotions, not uh baseball, where that is
- 9:17Speaker 2: not how your arm is supposed to throw. Yeah, your
- 9:20Speaker 2: natural arm motion is this.
- 9:21Speaker 1: We're eating dinner, right and I say, hey, pass me
- 9:23Speaker 1: a roll, throw me a roll. Do you throw it overhand?
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah? No, you do underhand. You can throw rolls all
- 9:29Speaker 2: day and never be tired. They do get tired boys. Yeah,
- 9:33Speaker 2: they do get tired. Was that lunchbox? And Ray pomp
- 9:36Speaker 2: into our.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Speakers checked our podcast?
- 9:40Speaker 2: So why are you doing you underhand?
- 9:44Speaker 7: The role?
- 9:44Speaker 4: Well, it depends where we're sitting to Oh, how you
- 9:47Speaker 4: throw a roll?
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah you don't throw it like a baseball.
- 9:50Speaker 1: No, no, you never do. I mean that'd be too hard. Anyway,
- 9:52Speaker 1: it was to his point. Yes, it's more natural to
- 9:54Speaker 1: throw underhands.
- 9:56Speaker 2: They won again.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that's amazing, man, that's really cool.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'm trying to make now I'm down like five hundred.
- 10:02Speaker 1: So you didn't I thought you had split screens and
- 10:06Speaker 1: multiple TVs like you didn't have.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I was watching my wife. I do that when I'm
- 10:09Speaker 2: watching video like playing video games, have a three screener.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Have you been upstairs in my house? Yeah? Okay, so
- 10:15Speaker 2: the three screeners have a middle screen video game, two
- 10:18Speaker 2: screens on the side, And I will do that in
- 10:21Speaker 2: my gamble room. Yeah, I'm playing mad all I got
- 10:24Speaker 2: stuff on. I'm watching or gambling on. But if we're
- 10:26Speaker 2: down in my life, we put on the living room.
- 10:28Speaker 1: TV and not even during commercials, you go back and
- 10:30Speaker 1: check the game.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Out on my phone. So had the basketball game on
- 10:33Speaker 2: my phone but then I stopped watching. It was out
- 10:34Speaker 2: of control, and I was like, I just lost a
- 10:36Speaker 2: thousand bucks. My nine year old had a basketball game,
- 10:39Speaker 2: so I missed most.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Of the game last night.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I bet a thousand bucks on it. You would have covered.
- 10:44Speaker 2: They won by eleven. They did.
- 10:45Speaker 4: What did you get home?
- 10:46Speaker 1: I got home at nine, about nine ten, nine to fifty.
- 10:50Speaker 5: The game actually went a little faster just because it
- 10:51Speaker 5: was a blowout, so there weren't as many like timeouts
- 10:53Speaker 5: and everything like that. But so, what'd you see the
- 10:56Speaker 5: fourth quarter?
- 10:56Speaker 2: I saw. I saw the fourth quarter.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I saw about five minutes of Luca and Kyrie still
- 11:01Speaker 1: in and they pulled them. But I mean the Celts
- 11:04Speaker 1: played till the very end. I know I'll do my
- 11:07Speaker 1: team one. I was very happy, and I told you
- 11:10Speaker 1: you picked the right team. Yeah, I sure did well.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Picked both. Be fair tonight. I have to make my
- 11:16Speaker 2: money back. But also bet them all. Oh I'm not chasing.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I bet them all at once, so I made one
- 11:22Speaker 2: thousand dollars bet. Then I made three five hundred dollars
- 11:23Speaker 2: bets at the same time, so hopefully I can make
- 11:26Speaker 2: my money back. I have the fever plus one. The
- 11:29Speaker 2: Indiana Fever are playing the Mystics site where are the
- 11:33Speaker 2: Mystics from Washington? In Washington? So I have that, and
- 11:36Speaker 2: then I have Caitlin Clark over seventeen and a half
- 11:38Speaker 2: points five hundred bucks on each of those. If you
- 11:40Speaker 2: want to, I got you see them.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's uh, yeah, that's about it, right, because one of
- 11:46Speaker 1: the when is the NBA play again Sunday? Sunday? God,
- 11:49Speaker 1: there's a long wait.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yeah, looks we gotta go. At least it's going. There's
- 11:52Speaker 2: something to talk about it. We had a game on things.
- 11:54Speaker 2: What's annoying about what's happening with the WNBA is, first
- 11:57Speaker 2: of all, we're ahead of the game. We've been talking
- 11:59Speaker 2: about this weeks. Yeah, we were on Caitlyn Clark before
- 12:02Speaker 2: became cool to be on Caitlin Clark. A big fan.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I'm a big fan. What's annoying now is this turned
- 12:06Speaker 2: into not just sports, to turned into a culture war,
- 12:09Speaker 2: and that makes sports not as fun because you can't
- 12:11Speaker 2: just root for a team, or you can't just root
- 12:13Speaker 2: for good good guy, bad guy. Now, everybody's got an opinion,
- 12:17Speaker 2: but it's based on some political belief or woke or
- 12:22Speaker 2: anti woke, or race or and it's like, well, this
- 12:26Speaker 2: is not near as fun as it used to be.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I just like coming on going, Well, everybody's hating on
- 12:30Speaker 2: Kaitlyn Clark because she's rich and they claimed she was
- 12:34Speaker 2: going to be the greatest, so they want to show
- 12:36Speaker 2: her and there's obvious hate and jealousy and let's go
- 12:38Speaker 2: Kaitlyn Clark.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, or someone sucks because they you know, missed all
- 12:41Speaker 1: their shots, like something simple like that. But yeah, not
- 12:43Speaker 1: culture stuff, exactly society it has.
- 12:48Speaker 2: It has made me, uh, not like watching it as much.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Not the games. I'm still watching every w me again.
- 12:53Speaker 2: But to talk, Oh yeah, I don't like it because
- 12:56Speaker 2: now like normal shows are talking about it really and
- 12:58Speaker 2: they know nothing about basket ball in general. I'm talking
- 13:01Speaker 2: about like The View or insert whatever political show. It's like,
- 13:07Speaker 2: give me a freaking break. I just want to talk
- 13:09Speaker 2: about shooting threes. I just want to talking about So
- 13:13Speaker 2: Angel Reese is an idiot. She's an idiot. Whenever she
- 13:17Speaker 2: was talking about people watch me too. People come it's
- 13:23Speaker 2: not just her, it's me, And again you can roll
- 13:27Speaker 2: the clip you after that she starts to talk about
- 13:28Speaker 2: the league, but she's obviously very jealous. Yeah, but she's
- 13:31Speaker 2: an idiot. But I like that. I like that. I
- 13:33Speaker 2: think she's an idiot because we need rivalries. We'll think
- 13:35Speaker 2: Kaitlyn Clark's an idiot. I like it. That's what we need.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The greatest thing, no one would have known who Angel
- 13:41Speaker 2: Reese was unless they were a diehard fan of LSU
- 13:44Speaker 2: or women's college basketball or the WNBA, like the very
- 13:47Speaker 2: select few that watch that. You know, because listen, the
- 13:52Speaker 2: ratings are big. When Kaitlyn Clark plays highest college women's
- 13:55Speaker 2: basketball game ever, the arenas are filling up. J already
- 14:00Speaker 2: saying that made her relevant. Two people that aren't just
- 14:03Speaker 2: fans of Chicago, the w NBA or college basketball or
- 14:08Speaker 2: l ISSUE people know who she is. But that's amazing.
- 14:11Speaker 2: That's what she should have done.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Do you think she did that on purpose?
- 14:14Speaker 2: No, because she backed off of it a little bit after,
- 14:16Speaker 2: or she said, you know, and it's us and all.
- 14:19Speaker 2: She just should have embraced it and been that hero
- 14:22Speaker 2: slash villain idiot. We need a villain in sports, and
- 14:26Speaker 2: that villain isn't the villain to everybody. The villain's the
- 14:29Speaker 2: hero to some people. But yeah, no one would know
- 14:31Speaker 2: who Angel Reice was. That wasn't already a diehard fan
- 14:34Speaker 2: of women's basketball if it wasn't for Caitlin Clark, Like
- 14:38Speaker 2: Lex Luthor, wasn't even think til Superman came about. Yeah right,
- 14:41Speaker 2: the villain and Angelice is good. It's funny to watch
- 14:44Speaker 2: because she's, you know, leading in like rookie, rebounds shots
- 14:48Speaker 2: she misses, and she rebounds her own ball. It's crazy.
- 14:51Speaker 2: She has a lot of hilarious really yeah, and she's
- 14:54Speaker 2: she's for sure a good player. She's for sure a
- 14:56Speaker 2: really good player. But I someone go, it's not only
- 15:01Speaker 2: Kaitlin Clark. It fills up a WNBA arenas there. It
- 15:03Speaker 2: was two teams playing. I f forgured it wasn't. They
- 15:05Speaker 2: did a pan. It was like half fool. It was
- 15:07Speaker 2: a big arena. It was a bigger arena, but half full.
- 15:10Speaker 2: And the Tendants was on there, and it was like
- 15:13Speaker 2: ten thousand and a twenty thousand seater and they posted
- 15:15Speaker 2: all at Kaitlin Clark's fourteen thousand, fifteen thousand, and sixteen thousand,
- 15:19Speaker 2: like full arenas, you can't even put more people in there.
- 15:22Speaker 2: To me, even if you don't think Kaitlyn Clark's good,
- 15:24Speaker 2: I don't care about that but the whole reason the
- 15:27Speaker 2: WNBA is getting any shine right now outside of what
- 15:30Speaker 2: it would already be getting by WNBA fans is Caitlin
- 15:32Speaker 2: Clark or people that are anti Kitlin Clark, and that
- 15:35Speaker 2: makes it all about Kaitlin Clark. And I kind of
- 15:37Speaker 2: feel bad for Kayln Clark. She's not really involved in
- 15:39Speaker 2: any of it. She literally just plays basketball and it
- 15:42Speaker 2: goes all around her. She doesn't really do the many interviews.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I hope that she understands that this is part of
- 15:48Speaker 1: the game and that's just kind of how it works.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Like but it's never happened with anybody else ever in
- 15:52Speaker 2: the history of women's basketball, I know, but for her,
- 15:54Speaker 2: and I feel like when people have that spotlight on
- 15:57Speaker 2: them where it's just negative and the whole league doesn't
- 15:59Speaker 2: like you and you.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Get body checked for no reason stuff like that, I
- 16:03Speaker 1: think for a normal person it would just get to
- 16:06Speaker 1: your head and you wouldn't be able to perform. But
- 16:09Speaker 1: hopefully that she understands, like, you know what, Hey, at
- 16:11Speaker 1: the end of the day, this is gonna look really
- 16:12Speaker 1: good on me. I'm not doing anything. She's keeping my
- 16:15Speaker 1: mouth shut. I'm playing ball and I'm doing what I'm
- 16:18Speaker 1: here to do. That's it, and like hopefully she ends
- 16:21Speaker 1: up being the top, like the best and just kind
- 16:26Speaker 1: of overcome this. And because right now it could get
- 16:30Speaker 1: to her head and she can play like complete crap.
- 16:32Speaker 2: It's not I think what she probably she has good
- 16:36Speaker 2: people around her. I'm sure telling her is what's happening
- 16:38Speaker 2: on the floor and on social media is not actually
- 16:40Speaker 2: what's happening in real life. Because most of America, they
- 16:44Speaker 2: are curious about you, they like you, but you're not
- 16:48Speaker 2: experiencing that at arm's length. But if you look past
- 16:53Speaker 2: arms length, it's so much greater, bigger and brighter because
- 16:56Speaker 2: everybody's kind of rooting for you. Yeah, and you know,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and it is kind of a race. And I'll tell
- 17:00Speaker 2: you why. At least at first, white people aren't as
- 17:04Speaker 2: good at basketball. We just generally say that, yes, okay.
- 17:07Speaker 1: So let me made a movie on this. White man can't jump.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yes, right, so whenever there's somebody and it doesn't have
- 17:12Speaker 2: to be basketball. But I use that white people can't
- 17:16Speaker 2: really wrap that well.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah historically, yeah, so.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Old people don't really go to the Olympics fast, short
- 17:25Speaker 2: people don't really aren't really good at basketball. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:29Speaker 2: anytime there's somebody that usually isn't something that ends up
- 17:33Speaker 2: being everybody goes what we need to pay attention to that,
- 17:40Speaker 2: and if it's like Kaitlyn Clark, you're like, and it's
- 17:45Speaker 2: not just white or black people that are like rooting
- 17:47Speaker 2: for her, because you would see a lot of black
- 17:49Speaker 2: athletes to words for Kaitlin Clark, to being like she's awesome.
- 17:51Speaker 2: But it was just weird that it was a white
- 17:52Speaker 2: person because whiteop aren't a good White people are not
- 17:55Speaker 2: as good as basketball just generally speaking that they look
- 17:57Speaker 2: at the NBA. Yeah, short people aren't good to basketball.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Old people don't get in the Olympics. When there's a
- 18:02Speaker 2: forty two year old olympian, you don't think that's every
- 18:05Speaker 2: that's the story for a minute, or.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Even like when you know the big centers were shooting threes,
- 18:09Speaker 1: like that was just like whoa.
- 18:10Speaker 2: That's abnormal. Ends up being a highlight of a story,
- 18:15Speaker 2: and that's where the initial comes from. Now you can
- 18:18Speaker 2: take all that and it's not it wasn't in the
- 18:22Speaker 2: end just to a race thing because she didn't be
- 18:23Speaker 2: the all time scoring leader. But I think it was
- 18:25Speaker 2: pretty crazy that one she s the other weird thing
- 18:27Speaker 2: was she shot threes from so far away that wouldn't
- 18:29Speaker 2: even matter what color she was. If if she shot
- 18:32Speaker 2: like that, she was the logo shooting, it wouldn't wouldn't
- 18:34Speaker 2: have mattered. But Eminem great rapper. You didn't know how
- 18:38Speaker 2: great he was though it took him a while, but
- 18:40Speaker 2: at first, like, what's this white rapper doing?
- 18:42Speaker 1: It's so rare.
- 18:43Speaker 2: The usually aren't good if they're white.
- 18:45Speaker 5: And he even says that, right, he says in some
- 18:47Speaker 5: of the song, He's like, if I wasn't white, I
- 18:48Speaker 5: wouldn't sell as many records.
- 18:50Speaker 2: What was cool about Tiger Woods is he wasn't like
- 18:51Speaker 2: a stupid, old, crotchety white man. Gosh, that's so true,
- 18:54Speaker 2: and you know, and Tiger Woods was awesome, But what
- 18:56Speaker 2: was the appeal was He's not like all these the
- 18:58Speaker 2: loser white people. Yeah, so that there's definitely an element
- 19:01Speaker 2: of that, but it's not in the element of like
- 19:03Speaker 2: negative we're against a certain race or pro a certain race.
- 19:07Speaker 2: It's sometimes what's cool about Tiger was he wasn't white.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I think we all can agree with that. And another
- 19:13Speaker 2: freaking dumb white person playing golf, some rich white kid
- 19:16Speaker 2: and playing golf. We've seen one hundred thousand of those
- 19:18Speaker 2: who cares. Oh she got Tiger Woods.
- 19:22Speaker 1: That was awesome, This young black kid, yeah and half Asian. Yeah,
- 19:27Speaker 1: named Tiger, name Tiger.
- 19:29Speaker 2: You know, look at that. Okay, look at spud Web,
- 19:33Speaker 2: Look at Mark zy Bog.
- 19:34Speaker 1: People still talk about spead Web because he was a
- 19:37Speaker 1: short dude, donky.
- 19:38Speaker 2: It was just that it's different from what the norm is.
- 19:42Speaker 2: That's why she became known early. She's really good. They're
- 19:45Speaker 2: all these people are really good, but it takes a
- 19:47Speaker 2: while to be freaking great. But she was really good.
- 19:50Speaker 2: She was doing something wild. She was different than other
- 19:53Speaker 2: really good basketball players, and then she proved herself. But
- 19:57Speaker 2: that gets inserted in the conversation now, but in a
- 19:59Speaker 2: negative way. Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 5: Yeah, it's people just spin in it the way that
- 20:03Speaker 5: they want it to be spun with their own headline
- 20:05Speaker 5: or their own media grab, whatever it is.
- 20:06Speaker 2: And when people will be like, well, she's only famous
- 20:09Speaker 2: because she's pretty straight and white, I'm like, no, no, no, no,
- 20:11Speaker 2: she shoots it from freaking half court and she's the
- 20:14Speaker 2: all time points leader in all schools. Like that's why
- 20:16Speaker 2: did people pay attention at first? Probably because she was white. Yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 2: probably a little bit because it's, well, I can't believe
- 20:21Speaker 2: that white girl can do that, Yeah, because most white
- 20:22Speaker 2: girls can't do that. And then it was even if
- 20:25Speaker 2: she wasn't white, but she was just crushed. Like look
- 20:28Speaker 2: at Sabrina who plays in Seattle. She's popping threes like crazy. Anyway,
- 20:34Speaker 2: all that that is a part. Race is a part
- 20:36Speaker 2: of everything, but it doesn't always have to be a
- 20:39Speaker 2: bad part of everything.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Oh, I don't see color.
- 20:44Speaker 2: That's not true, but race doesn't have to be a
- 20:48Speaker 2: bad part. Like again, Tiger Woods not white, but that's
- 20:50Speaker 2: what was cool about him because everybody else is white.
- 20:52Speaker 2: So I don't like the conversation that's happening now whe
- 20:57Speaker 2: everybody has to have an opinion, even if they know
- 20:58Speaker 2: nothing about sports or they don't care about sports, they
- 21:01Speaker 2: just want to have an opinion on a culture that
- 21:03Speaker 2: sucks and it ruins it. And I did war my
- 21:05Speaker 2: Caitlin Clark jersey the other day and I wore it
- 21:08Speaker 2: to the card store to turn in my cards for
- 21:10Speaker 2: the grading, uh huh, and the card store and I
- 21:13Speaker 2: felt kind of like I wore a jersey to our
- 21:16Speaker 2: card store. Yeah, dude, I mean that's perfect. It was perfect.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I know it's big nerdid, big nerd, big nerd. That's fine.
- 21:22Speaker 2: And everyone there was like, oh, Caitlin Clark Jersey is
- 21:25Speaker 2: so cool. And they were like, where'd you get it?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Because we can't because nobody can get them. They're so
- 21:28Speaker 2: hard to get. And I didn't have any sort of hookup.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I just was on hold for like three weeks on
- 21:33Speaker 2: getting it. Anyway, I'm in. I like Angel Reese because
- 21:36Speaker 2: she is she's the storyline. Also, when the Fever were
- 21:42Speaker 2: getting off the not the Fever, when Chicago was getting
- 21:45Speaker 2: off the bus and they were like, we were harassed
- 21:48Speaker 2: by people. It was it was one person asking the
- 21:51Speaker 2: girl who had hip checked Caitlyn Clark if she had
- 21:54Speaker 2: talked to her. You can see the video they posted. No, no,
- 21:58Speaker 2: it was nothing. One person was nothing. Unbelievable. Was it
- 22:03Speaker 2: a member of the press or just a person. It
- 22:05Speaker 2: was a dude. I don't know. They had their phone
- 22:09Speaker 2: that was recording it, but they weren't even like inner interface.
- 22:11Speaker 2: The security guard comes aroun, he goes doo doo doo.
- 22:13Speaker 2: But then they all start posting we get harassed, and
- 22:15Speaker 2: I literally felt bad for them. I was like, fans
- 22:17Speaker 2: are such freaking idiots. Like, this is sports. This is
- 22:19Speaker 2: not real life. There's no need to get on anybody's
- 22:22Speaker 2: bus when they're going to their hotel and like be
- 22:24Speaker 2: like you freaking suck, say that it's a game that
- 22:27Speaker 2: like that arena is built for that, but don't go
- 22:30Speaker 2: up to their table or restaurant and do that. Like
- 22:33Speaker 2: there's real life and then there's the theater of sports. Sure,
- 22:37Speaker 2: but then when I saw it, it was nothing. Really, it
- 22:40Speaker 2: was so nothing that I kind of got annoyed. But
- 22:43Speaker 2: that's what I like, Like, it's given me. Nobody cared
- 22:45Speaker 2: about the WNBA. Nobody not fair. They have their hardcore fans,
- 22:50Speaker 2: both of them, and they both their fans were gonna
- 22:52Speaker 2: go to their games, but nobody really cared about the
- 22:56Speaker 2: general population of sports fans didn't care about the WNBA
- 23:01Speaker 2: at all until Kateln Clark came about. And now what
- 23:03Speaker 2: we talk about is Kaitlin Clark, anti Kaitlin Clark, or
- 23:06Speaker 2: talk about other girls except Kaitlin Clark. And even that's
- 23:08Speaker 2: because of Kaitlin Clark, yep. But I honestly know four,
- 23:12Speaker 2: five or six other w NBA players now they're awesome
- 23:14Speaker 2: because of Kaitlin Clark. And I like that it's worked
- 23:16Speaker 2: a little bit where it's expanded me into knowing who
- 23:19Speaker 2: some of these other freaking awesome players are. But it's
- 23:22Speaker 2: because of Kaitlin Clark.
- 23:23Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 23:24Speaker 2: An, wait, that's my that's my situation.
- 23:26Speaker 1: There, Kevin. Did you see a fan take Jason Tatum's
- 23:29Speaker 1: of towel off his shoulder after the game?
- 23:31Speaker 2: No?
- 23:32Speaker 4: Last night?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, just walking by?
- 23:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he stopped in the security guard and went
- 23:35Speaker 1: and got it back.
- 23:36Speaker 2: They got it back.
- 23:38Speaker 1: But speaking of fans is being dumb, like what are
- 23:40Speaker 1: you thinking you can just.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Grab something off of someone's shoulder? Fans are ridiculous. They
- 23:45Speaker 2: don't feel like athletes they're playing the game are real people,
- 23:48Speaker 2: right right? It's like us though, talking about not us,
- 23:52Speaker 2: but general talking about celebrities and oh can you believe this?
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yah?
- 23:55Speaker 2: You don't feel like they're real people because they're not
- 23:58Speaker 2: to you, because you only see them on your phone
- 24:01Speaker 2: or on your computer or on your television, and that's
- 24:03Speaker 2: not real.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Life, yep.
- 24:04Speaker 2: And but they are. They are real people.
- 24:07Speaker 1: And props to those athletes, actors, celebrities whatever that can
- 24:10Speaker 1: just power through and be like, you know what, I'm
- 24:12Speaker 1: gonna just stay true to myself I'm gonna let that
- 24:14Speaker 1: bother me because that is a different world.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah, if it were me and somebody like grab me
- 24:17Speaker 2: or did something to be Detroit and Indiana all over again.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Up the stands.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Is that Malice in the palace.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Alice in a freaking palace.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Baby, basketball would be tough because they're right on top,
- 24:27Speaker 5: they yell.
- 24:28Speaker 2: They yeah, that's why I look at you fans.
- 24:31Speaker 5: Did you see at the beginning of the game. Neither
- 24:33Speaker 5: you guys probably saw. It was still close, and he
- 24:36Speaker 5: went in for a drive and got fouled, and then
- 24:37Speaker 5: he kind of like got into the stands a little bit,
- 24:39Speaker 5: you know, and and the fans were just sitting there
- 24:41Speaker 5: yelling at him, nothing bad, like just fan fun, you know.
- 24:43Speaker 5: And he's just sitting there laughing. He could just tell
- 24:45Speaker 5: He's like, I love this, and then.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Sorry, dude, that's terrible.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Okay, let's go over under the tittle tattle. Get it.
- 24:54Speaker 7: It's got a break first here.
- 24:56Speaker 2: No, okay, we shall go to break and then we'll
- 25:00Speaker 2: come back into the tittle tattle. Thank you, all right,
- 25:04Speaker 2: we're back, Kevin. You ready for the tit.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Now?
- 25:07Speaker 2: I am old tattle. Let's go.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Name the tittle Tattle.
- 25:18Speaker 5: The Phillies a Mets set the face off at Wembley
- 25:21Speaker 5: Stadium in London this weekend. If you can watch a
- 25:23Speaker 5: baseball game at any non baseball stadiums, where would it be.
- 25:26Speaker 2: That's cool, that's a fun thing. I don't care about
- 25:29Speaker 2: the Phillies or the Mets, but like taking it to London,
- 25:31Speaker 2: that's cool for them. That's that's an energetic environment because
- 25:35Speaker 2: it's new. It's like we did our podcast in Saint Louis. Like,
- 25:37Speaker 2: I just felt that was cool.
- 25:38Speaker 4: That was fun.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fine. I like it when they do the
- 25:40Speaker 2: games in other countries for football a little bit because
- 25:43Speaker 2: they're just earlier.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Like I like that too.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Could you wake up? You get to watch that like
- 25:46Speaker 2: nine o'clock game? Yeah, your fantasy starts.
- 25:48Speaker 5: I like that. Yeah, your days either or has made
- 25:52Speaker 5: better already.
- 25:53Speaker 2: I think like a football game in the colseum will
- 25:55Speaker 2: be fine. I went to Colsseum for the first time,
- 25:57Speaker 2: the Roman Colsseum in Rome.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I don't evely have anything there, dude, they right, isn't
- 26:03Speaker 1: the ground like all messed up because the chambers down there?
- 26:06Speaker 2: So yes and no. I thought the same thing, and
- 26:08Speaker 2: I was like, why what's happening here. So what they
- 26:10Speaker 2: did is they removed the floor so you could see
- 26:12Speaker 2: what the chambers were underneath.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Oh, I thought it was just time that weathered all that.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Ok okay, times weathered everything there, and it's crazy. And
- 26:19Speaker 2: I hired a guide so I could ask questions. My
- 26:23Speaker 2: wife's wanted to go look at it, like a real
- 26:24Speaker 2: guide or a dude off the street. No, real guy, Okay,
- 26:27Speaker 2: up front, you Italian, you come with us. And I
- 26:31Speaker 2: learned a lot about that and probably stayed a little
- 26:34Speaker 2: longer than I think my wife would have enjoyed. But oh,
- 26:36Speaker 2: that's cool stuff though, dude, now, yes, it's awesome you
- 26:38Speaker 2: did that. But so that's what they did for people
- 26:40Speaker 2: to see, because you can't walk out there. They took
- 26:42Speaker 2: the floor in the ground and removed it so you
- 26:44Speaker 2: could see all the chambers below, like where the animals were,
- 26:47Speaker 2: where the people would be pretty cool. And so I
- 26:51Speaker 2: would pick football and that that's fine, that's my answer.
- 26:53Speaker 2: But what was cool about the Colisseum too was learning
- 26:56Speaker 2: about the gladiators. They would fight and there were a
- 26:59Speaker 2: couple of ways you could become a gladiator. And the
- 27:02Speaker 2: movie Gladiator is actually a pretty accurate portrayal of a
- 27:05Speaker 2: singular version of that, right.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Prisoners and slaves, Yes, because I think that was the movie,
- 27:11Speaker 1: or so, Yes, you could be a they'd usually as
- 27:14Speaker 1: a prisoner, so if you got in trouble, it's kind
- 27:19Speaker 1: of jail, but you could work your way out a
- 27:21Speaker 1: slave obviously, or if you just had a terrible life,
- 27:25Speaker 1: like you could go in spend your time, if you
- 27:27Speaker 1: want enough matches, you would you kind of be lifted
- 27:30Speaker 1: up a class, so like instead of killing yourself, like
- 27:33Speaker 1: say you're just done, you're just like, man.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I don't know if it's sad, but let's say you're
- 27:36Speaker 2: born into lower lower class, super poor, and you're like,
- 27:40Speaker 2: this sucks. I'm gonna go and fight four or five
- 27:45Speaker 2: six fights. I forget what they said, and you go
- 27:47Speaker 2: and you train. That a training facility basically where they
- 27:49Speaker 2: all trained. They all trained together, they had to fight
- 27:51Speaker 2: each other, they trained together, and then if you were
- 27:54Speaker 2: able to survive, and when you're fights, you're out and
- 27:56Speaker 2: you're kind of famous afterward and you're lifted up a bit.
- 28:00Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Wow.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I like to think that there was a gladiator
- 28:03Speaker 1: like training camp where they're just all there with their
- 28:06Speaker 1: swords and their shields, like getting better, and.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Then some people just admitted themselves and like I'm here,
- 28:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna try. It's amazing there was and now I'll
- 28:14Speaker 2: mess up some of the facts and in Gladiator because
- 28:16Speaker 2: I haven't seen that in so long. But when I
- 28:19Speaker 2: was learning about it, there was a king and he
- 28:22Speaker 2: wanted to be a fighter, a killer, and so he
- 28:25Speaker 2: would go and fight either animals or people himself, but
- 28:28Speaker 2: he would make sure that they were like stabbed before
- 28:29Speaker 2: they went out wounded.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so they weren't full strength. So he looked what
- 28:34Speaker 1: a punk day.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Oh that makes me mad.
- 28:38Speaker 2: It's okay, it is a long time ago.
- 28:40Speaker 4: I know, but it's still makes me mad.
- 28:41Speaker 5: Like imagine being that person you get stabbed.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Just he's retroactively pissed right now.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I wonder that if that information is kind of like
- 28:48Speaker 1: when you find out that like somebody's been cheating in
- 28:50Speaker 1: the NBA.
- 28:51Speaker 4: Like cork Batten baseball.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Right, all right, next question?
- 28:56Speaker 5: All right, A lot of people talking about Kyrie with
- 28:58Speaker 5: his comeback story in his career. What is your best
- 29:00Speaker 5: comebackstory in your career?
- 29:02Speaker 1: I think maybe this what the twenty five whistles and
- 29:07Speaker 1: hell would come backstory, Well, we'd we had a sponsor.
- 29:12Speaker 1: We didn't have a sponsor. We came back with a sponsor.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Funny, I would say, this is what I would say.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Really would probably be I thought I was gonna oh, man,
- 29:25Speaker 2: I have a couple like Big Ones where we did
- 29:27Speaker 2: a segment it got Lunchbox put in jail. We were
- 29:30Speaker 2: suspended for weeks. Thought we were getting fired. It's way
- 29:32Speaker 2: early in my career. After that, we were number one.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I don't know if it's a redemption because we weren't that
- 29:37Speaker 2: big before then because we were new. But yeah, everybody
- 29:41Speaker 2: was like they're over, they're done. We had some some
- 29:44Speaker 2: real heat on. It's like we were starting to make
- 29:46Speaker 2: some noise. We were twenty four to twenty five, so
- 29:48Speaker 2: that was good. There was another part where I was
- 29:50Speaker 2: find a million bucks by the FCC for a bit
- 29:52Speaker 2: that we did. But I never really feared I was
- 29:55Speaker 2: going to get fired. I wondered it, but I never
- 29:57Speaker 2: got suspended. You were puckered though a bit just because
- 30:01Speaker 2: the money was so high. But why say this is
- 30:03Speaker 2: because years and years ago, Andy Roddick and I did
- 30:08Speaker 2: a sports show on Fox Sports on the weekends. We
- 30:12Speaker 2: were just like, let's just do the show, and they
- 30:14Speaker 2: were like cool, and it was pretty good. Andy has
- 30:17Speaker 2: big personality. We don't mind fighting with each other. We
- 30:20Speaker 2: have respect for each other that we can tell each
- 30:23Speaker 2: other that they're idiot. And then we were friends so that
- 30:25Speaker 2: we always had that base so we could really go
- 30:27Speaker 2: at it. And he then was still playing tennis and
- 30:30Speaker 2: finishing his career, so we had to leave the show.
- 30:32Speaker 2: So I did it for another year by myself. Basically,
- 30:35Speaker 2: they had approached me to take the job after Jim
- 30:39Speaker 2: Rome left because I was still in Austin but I
- 30:41Speaker 2: was doing Fox Sports. They were like, hey, would you
- 30:43Speaker 2: want to consider doing a syndicated afternoon sports show. But
- 30:48Speaker 2: I was going to have to leave what I was
- 30:50Speaker 2: doing in the morning, and I built my own syndication
- 30:51Speaker 2: company and basically go and be that Jim Rome position,
- 30:59Speaker 2: which I had fun doing, but that really wasn't what
- 31:01Speaker 2: I was wanting to do do or go to Nashville.
- 31:05Speaker 2: So I moved to Nashville and got completely out of
- 31:07Speaker 2: doing sports. I did for We did it for a
- 31:09Speaker 2: little bit, but not really and it was me and
- 31:12Speaker 2: Lunchbox Ray and Ray and so we did the but
- 31:18Speaker 2: I was touring and I'd have to, like in Tallahassee,
- 31:20Speaker 2: go find a studio. So I stopped doing sports, and
- 31:22Speaker 2: I was not going to do sports anymore. I was
- 31:24Speaker 2: good and DraftKings came or like, hey, we want you
- 31:28Speaker 2: to do a sports show five days a week, and
- 31:29Speaker 2: I was like, I can't. I can't can possibly do that.
- 31:31Speaker 2: And we figured out a way to do this when
- 31:33Speaker 2: it was one time a week, and then now we've
- 31:36Speaker 2: kind of grown it into something cool. So redemption. I mean,
- 31:40Speaker 2: I didn't like get fired, but I did. I couldn't
- 31:43Speaker 2: really do it anymore. I never thought I would really
- 31:44Speaker 2: do sports again. But I think what we've kind of
- 31:47Speaker 2: rebuilt this into and you know, I'm going to fill
- 31:50Speaker 2: in for Rich Eisen, Like they think I have the
- 31:51Speaker 2: skills enough to go take over a national television and
- 31:54Speaker 2: radio sports show. Like that's cool for me, just even
- 31:57Speaker 2: that people would allow me to do that, because that
- 31:59Speaker 2: means they think I'm at least good enough to like
- 32:02Speaker 2: hold it up as he's gone. And then I got
- 32:04Speaker 2: to the NFL Draft. That's some other cool stuff coming up.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I think this is this is fun for us, that
- 32:08Speaker 2: we built something cool. I think this is kind of
- 32:09Speaker 2: a hey, we're back. Yeah that is cool redemption, But yeah,
- 32:14Speaker 2: we back, so that would be mine. But I didn't
- 32:17Speaker 2: step on anybody's leprechaun.
- 32:18Speaker 4: Okay, exactly eleven cents, Yeah, just saying, all right, next one,
- 32:23Speaker 4: all right, if.
- 32:24Speaker 5: The Lakers hired Dan Hurley, where would you put them
- 32:26Speaker 5: in the West.
- 32:28Speaker 2: It's weird Dan Hurley's style with professional players. It's also
- 32:33Speaker 2: why college coaches for the most part, don't work out.
- 32:35Speaker 2: And I'm not saying he won't work out. And if
- 32:36Speaker 2: they offer a one hundred million dollars deal, let's go,
- 32:38Speaker 2: I go too. And he may he's want, you know,
- 32:41Speaker 2: multiple national championships, and he may be bored and maybe
- 32:46Speaker 2: that was his dream. So but I don't know that
- 32:49Speaker 2: relationship because he is a big personality and it's his
- 32:53Speaker 2: culture in college, he's for sure the only one that's
- 32:56Speaker 2: going to be here next year ever here, Yeah, if
- 33:00Speaker 2: he wants to be, he's the only one that it's
- 33:02Speaker 2: for sure going to be there. And he gets to
- 33:03Speaker 2: yell and he makes more money than the players, and
- 33:05Speaker 2: it's just a different vibe in the NBA. But because
- 33:08Speaker 2: I don't know, I do listen to people that I
- 33:10Speaker 2: trust that do know, and they regard him as a
- 33:12Speaker 2: like not just a big motivator because that's its own
- 33:15Speaker 2: style of coach, but like like a real developer of talent,
- 33:21Speaker 2: like basketball players. And they think, you know that, that's
- 33:25Speaker 2: why he would go to LA If he does, I
- 33:26Speaker 2: haven't seen if it's now announced or if they've closed
- 33:29Speaker 2: the deal. I thought it was reddick until I read
- 33:30Speaker 2: about early. I know I came out of nowhere, out
- 33:32Speaker 2: of nowhere, So I'm just going to trust the people
- 33:35Speaker 2: that I trust and know more than me. And they
- 33:37Speaker 2: think he'll be a great addition. But it's weird to
- 33:39Speaker 2: see a college coach go to the NBA or NFL
- 33:41Speaker 2: and succeed because it really doesn't happen a whole lot anymore.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Yeah, because you see those clips of him in practice,
- 33:45Speaker 5: you're like, Lebron like that.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Yeah, screamy Johnson man for sure. Right, And that's why
- 33:50Speaker 2: I'm like, how hard is.
- 33:51Speaker 1: It to be a head coach with Lakers? This is
- 33:54Speaker 1: like a Jerry Jones situation over there, like where the
- 33:56Speaker 1: Lakers are still like the Showtime Lakers. Now Lebron's like
- 34:00Speaker 1: he's in charge or there.
- 34:02Speaker 2: That's one thing with Lebron's obviously the biggest personality. It's
- 34:06Speaker 2: a good question too, the biggest personality, the biggest force
- 34:08Speaker 2: in the NBA, HM period, because that's not just basketball,
- 34:13Speaker 2: that's a company. And he's got to sign off on you. Yeah,
- 34:16Speaker 2: and when he's tired of you, you you go. So
- 34:19Speaker 2: I don't know. In some of these places, these smaller
- 34:21Speaker 2: market teams are teams that have had no success. I
- 34:23Speaker 2: can see where like even a Jason Kidd who goes
- 34:25Speaker 2: in and in doubt, like, that's freaking Jason Kidd. You
- 34:29Speaker 2: have to he's done it. He's done it at a
- 34:31Speaker 2: high level. That's your coach. You got to respect that
- 34:34Speaker 2: he's done in the NBA better than you have. Yeah. Yeah,
- 34:37Speaker 2: And so because he's all time great.
- 34:39Speaker 1: My kids didn't know that. I had to explain that
- 34:41Speaker 1: to him who he was.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and like.
- 34:43Speaker 1: We'll watch clips.
- 34:44Speaker 2: So if you Lebron and a coach comes in that
- 34:45Speaker 2: never played like we played it like, it doesn't have
- 34:48Speaker 2: to be early. But if a coach played like D
- 34:49Speaker 2: two ball at Centennial and all of a sudden he's
- 34:51Speaker 2: telling you, you're like, bro, you ain't even done this before.
- 34:54Speaker 2: I don't know the answer to that. We're dynamic, Like
- 34:57Speaker 2: what he was an assistant.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Before, Like I see him and where is he at?
- 35:01Speaker 1: And where's he at now? I know he's coach for
- 35:04Speaker 1: the Lakers, but Vulgel I see him just like, I
- 35:06Speaker 1: don't know this guy's credentials. Even the Miami coach he.
- 35:09Speaker 2: In Toronto was Vogel in Toronto and they won the
- 35:12Speaker 2: championship as an assistant. I don't know, keep going.
- 35:14Speaker 1: It's just that vibe of like he doesn't talk, he
- 35:17Speaker 1: doesn't yell, he doesn't talk. He actually looks like he
- 35:20Speaker 1: didn't say anything during the games, and he's very quiet.
- 35:22Speaker 1: So I'm thinking, like I don't remember him playing in college.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I don't remember him playing in the NBA, so I
- 35:27Speaker 1: don't know what credentials are. So I feel like people
- 35:29Speaker 1: can get away with that, Like even the Miami, the
- 35:32Speaker 1: Miami he coach what's his name, Spolster, Yeah, Spolster, Like
- 35:34Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 35:35Speaker 2: His but he wouldn't have got away with it had
- 35:36Speaker 2: he not, had they not super believed in him because
- 35:39Speaker 2: of how smart he was. Yeah, he's a tape rat that.
- 35:41Speaker 5: He was surprising, Whereas like at the beginning of his career, like, oh,
- 35:44Speaker 5: he's just got Lebron and d Wade, duh, and then
- 35:46Speaker 5: now it's like, oh, actually ten years later he's pretty big.
- 35:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:49Speaker 2: And not only that, you had people sticking up for him,
- 35:51Speaker 2: where he had pat Riley going I don't care what
- 35:53Speaker 2: happens with any of the players, like you're going to
- 35:55Speaker 2: lose if it's up to me. Spolster is the guy
- 35:57Speaker 2: telling his players that you gotta kind of have that
- 35:59Speaker 2: too school. What do you see?
- 36:01Speaker 5: So Vogel was with the Pacers for five years and
- 36:04Speaker 5: Magic in sixteen and eighteen, than the Lakers from as
- 36:06Speaker 5: he in to twenty two, and then the Suns this
- 36:08Speaker 5: past year, and then he's coach.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Yes, I may be thinking of the coach was fired
- 36:11Speaker 2: this last year. That was with the Toronto the Raptors.
- 36:15Speaker 2: He was an assistant with the Raptors. I think when
- 36:17Speaker 2: they won the championship hand uh Darvin Ham Yeah maybe yeah.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Looked at it because I could be wrong with that.
- 36:24Speaker 2: I'd love to be wrong twice wrong. That would be
- 36:26Speaker 2: excellent for me to be or maybe the Bucks or
- 36:29Speaker 2: something I don't know, okay, uh yeah, the NBA, I
- 36:32Speaker 2: don't know. It's a weird, weird dynamic there, especially coaching
- 36:35Speaker 2: Lebron because in football there really isn't a player that
- 36:38Speaker 2: overruns a.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Coach the Bucks assistant?
- 36:40Speaker 2: Was it the Bucks? They won the championship?
- 36:42Speaker 4: He was with them.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I mean you had Tom Brady. You couldn't coach Tom Brady.
- 36:47Speaker 2: The one person that could was Bill Belichick, and he
- 36:49Speaker 2: did they.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm thinking more of what's his name in in
- 36:53Speaker 1: Tampa Bay kind of just let him.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I think that was understanding going in. There's Justine here,
- 36:59Speaker 2: the coach here. They have been dealing with Bill for
- 37:01Speaker 2: twenty years. Now, I'm gonna do whatever I want. That's
- 37:03Speaker 2: probably the only reason he would even go there too, right,
- 37:05Speaker 2: It wasn't he's there and then he overpowers arians. I
- 37:09Speaker 2: think he doesn't even go there unless he knows he
- 37:10Speaker 2: has that control.
- 37:11Speaker 5: Yeah, there was some type of agreement that sorry, what else?
- 37:13Speaker 2: All right?
- 37:13Speaker 5: Last one here? After a dominant winning game one. If
- 37:16Speaker 5: you're a MAVs fan, how worried would you be? On
- 37:18Speaker 5: a scale of one to five, five being.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I'd be as scared as I was initially three. I
- 37:24Speaker 2: still feel they lost it on the road. It wasn't pretty,
- 37:29Speaker 2: but you also didn't know how good Porzingis was going
- 37:31Speaker 2: to be or what he could I I think they
- 37:32Speaker 2: learned a lot. I think they. I think I have
- 37:34Speaker 2: shocked one game too. I prob put a thousand bucks
- 37:35Speaker 2: on it.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Oh boy, oh boy. My wife believes that they really
- 37:40Speaker 1: they didn't try to lose it, but lost it and
- 37:42Speaker 1: just to kind of let the Celtics feel like, oh,
- 37:45Speaker 1: you've got this whole thing. You can kill us here,
- 37:47Speaker 1: beat us by twenty points. I'm like, really, that's your theory.
- 37:50Speaker 1: You think stuff like that sometimes. But that and Kevin
- 37:53Speaker 1: thinks teams can sweep teams if they want to.
- 37:57Speaker 2: We all have our version of that.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I told him, like, really, okay, that works all.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Right, that's a tittletat. I go ahead, the tattle tattle.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Do we want to do one of the interviews before
- 38:11Speaker 2: break or take a break first, or do one interview? Okay, hey, Kevin,
- 38:14Speaker 2: do uh set up the manager one here? I don't
- 38:16Speaker 2: have to pay per I through it away.
- 38:17Speaker 5: Okay, here we go with Saint Louis Cardinals manager Ali Mormole,
- 38:22Speaker 5: also known as coach Alie, sat down with him in
- 38:24Speaker 5: Saint Louis for our visit for too much access.
- 38:27Speaker 4: What's his name?
- 38:27Speaker 2: No, Iady Alie?
- 38:28Speaker 6: Oh?
- 38:29Speaker 2: Skip yeah him every time right by the way too
- 38:32Speaker 2: much access, doesn't get the full interview, only twenty five whistles.
- 38:35Speaker 2: That's right. Exclusive. Well that's a per we do. That's why.
- 38:38Speaker 2: That's how I can justify it, because I lose a
- 38:40Speaker 2: lot of money on doing too much axcess right now,
- 38:42Speaker 2: so but we use it for this show too, so
- 38:44Speaker 2: full at full interview here Coach Marmle from We're in
- 38:48Speaker 2: his office by the way, sitting on a couch. There's
- 38:50Speaker 2: nothing in his We're all naked.
- 38:52Speaker 6: All right with no one.
- 38:53Speaker 1: We're not just gonna weren't, which.
- 38:54Speaker 2: How only I was. And it was weird all right
- 38:56Speaker 2: with the Cardinals when we walked in. We sat down
- 38:59Speaker 2: for a sec and somebody walked in and like whispered
- 39:02Speaker 2: some top secrets up to you, and I did everything
- 39:04Speaker 2: I could not.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I didn't listen. I did literally no.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I don't know what was being said, but it felt
- 39:08Speaker 2: very important and there were some big decisions being made.
- 39:13Speaker 2: But I want you to know I did not hear it.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Now does that happen a lot where somebody comes in
- 39:17Speaker 2: as like we need to go to Businessess, you're so
- 39:20Speaker 2: close to the locker room, you gotta gotta keep that quiet.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Usually they'll close the door. But since you guys were
- 39:24Speaker 2: in here, it was very yeah, low key. Yes, I
- 39:28Speaker 2: did not listen much much. Okay, maybe I'll listen a
- 39:31Speaker 2: little more. Maybe I just heard a couple of words.
- 39:33Speaker 3: But it's actually, yeah, did you hear a little bit?
- 39:38Speaker 1: I didn't hear anything.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Okay, we're hoping it's not a thing, because if it's
- 39:42Speaker 2: a thing, No, No, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 39:44Speaker 3: I keep secrets.
- 39:45Speaker 2: I know everybody's secrets, and I don't tell secrets because
- 39:49Speaker 2: I just I'm just an honest man coach. So I'm
- 39:52Speaker 2: gonna leave it there. But this is really cool, like
- 39:54Speaker 2: to be a manager of a major league team, all professional.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Things aside like that. It's so freaking cool, right it is?
- 40:01Speaker 3: It really? Especially here? Yeah, I mean this is you
- 40:03Speaker 3: talk about baseball town. This is incredible. So to do
- 40:07Speaker 3: it for this organization. This is year eighteen for me
- 40:10Speaker 3: as a player.
- 40:11Speaker 9: Then I couldn't hit, they released me, became a hitting
- 40:14Speaker 9: coach that came up through the ranks that way as
- 40:15Speaker 9: a manager, and then to be here and then hold
- 40:17Speaker 9: that seat.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Man, it's it's incredible, It really is.
- 40:21Speaker 2: When you look at you know, Herzog Metheni LaRussa. This
- 40:26Speaker 2: place has put out extremely in the baseball world, not
- 40:31Speaker 2: even just Cardinals, but in Major League baseball, like the
- 40:34Speaker 2: greatest managers in the history of the game. A little
- 40:40Speaker 2: bit of pressure like within yourself to just like perform
- 40:45Speaker 2: because of the past and the history in a good way. Though.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I it's one thing when you wake up
- 40:50Speaker 3: every morning.
- 40:50Speaker 9: If you were with an organization that didn't care as
- 40:53Speaker 9: much as the Cardinals do, like I'm not sure I
- 40:55Speaker 9: would wake up for that and do it every day.
- 40:57Speaker 9: It's it's that pressure, the expectation of doing it well
- 41:00Speaker 9: that actually gets me going.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Like, yeah, you go out there to night and you lose,
- 41:04Speaker 3: they hate you.
- 41:06Speaker 9: There's something good about that that, Like it gets you
- 41:09Speaker 9: motivated to man, make sure you're not missing anything and uh,
- 41:12Speaker 9: the city loves their baseball and you better win.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Yeah, the city there's like three Saint Louis, Chicago, Boston,
- 41:19Speaker 2: no doubt, you know, culture towns. Yes where when it's
- 41:23Speaker 2: game day, even if it's a week day, Like you
- 41:25Speaker 2: feel it the first day that you get to come
- 41:28Speaker 2: into the office, Like what's in the office?
- 41:29Speaker 3: Is it empty or is there Just like what happens
- 41:32Speaker 3: when you move into a new I know what it's
- 41:34Speaker 3: like moving to a new house, but how about a
- 41:35Speaker 3: new office. It's it's empty. Well, no, the chairs and
- 41:38Speaker 3: stuff were here. I haven't done a whole lot to it,
- 41:41Speaker 3: be quite honest, we did notice that.
- 41:44Speaker 9: I told myself I wouldn't do a whole lot until
- 41:46Speaker 9: I got an extension, and I should put some stuff
- 41:49Speaker 9: up on the walls.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Now, yeah, you feel good about that extension? I feel
- 41:52Speaker 3: better about it.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 41:53Speaker 3: Why not good? No?
- 41:55Speaker 2: Like?
- 41:55Speaker 5: No?
- 41:55Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, positive, yes, good, I feel great about it.
- 41:59Speaker 6: We got yeah, I know, yeah, I tell a little
- 42:02Speaker 6: better about it.
- 42:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Skip.
- 42:04Speaker 7: What is like?
- 42:05Speaker 2: What's your day?
- 42:06Speaker 1: Like?
- 42:06Speaker 3: What? What?
- 42:07Speaker 2: When do you like? Show up? Game day?
- 42:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 42:09Speaker 7: When do you show up?
- 42:10Speaker 2: When do you leave?
- 42:11Speaker 3: Like? What do you do in the middle man? Longer days?
- 42:14Speaker 9: You're usually here by eleven or so eleven thirty and
- 42:19Speaker 9: you start with meetings with the medical that's who walked in,
- 42:21Speaker 9: kind of gives you a brief.
- 42:22Speaker 3: On all the guys we do that I didn't know.
- 42:26Speaker 3: They let you know kind of anything that you may
- 42:29Speaker 3: might may have happened overnight or anything like that. So
- 42:32Speaker 3: you go through that.
- 42:32Speaker 9: Different staff members come in for about two minutes a piece,
- 42:35Speaker 9: and you kind of catch up with them, and then
- 42:38Speaker 9: you start your prep for that day. We got the
- 42:40Speaker 9: cups coming in, and you make sure you got everything
- 42:43Speaker 9: kind of tightened up leading into that series. That takes
- 42:46Speaker 9: a couple hours out of the day. And then right
- 42:48Speaker 9: around now players start showing up and you have certain
- 42:51Speaker 9: scheduled meetings with them, Guys you got to talk to.
- 42:54Speaker 9: That leads you to the hitters meeting right around three
- 42:56Speaker 9: twenty today. Pictures have their meeting right after that. Then
- 42:59Speaker 9: you go out, you hippip, come in, you eat, you shower,
- 43:02Speaker 9: and you strap it all.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Yeah that's a visual Yeah me too.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I don't like what I visualize. We'll edit that right, Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Whose favorite ball player growing up?
- 43:17Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know if I had a favorite like
- 43:20Speaker 3: player player.
- 43:20Speaker 9: I grew up watching like Omar the Scale playing short,
- 43:23Speaker 9: which I enjoyed watching him.
- 43:24Speaker 3: One of the best defensive sort stops in the history.
- 43:26Speaker 7: Of the game.
- 43:26Speaker 9: So if I like watch the player, probably Omar. Living
- 43:32Speaker 9: in Florida, we caught a lot of the Marlins games,
- 43:35Speaker 9: a lot of the Braves games. So I watched a
- 43:36Speaker 9: lot of Braves, but never had like, man, my favorite player.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Did you model yourself positionally after anyone, or did you
- 43:45Speaker 2: watch anyone's tape and like watch how they would do
- 43:47Speaker 2: it or or ways they would get to the ball.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I don't know, do you mirror it all? After Antegrate?
- 43:52Speaker 3: Probably the scale in the way he played the game,
- 43:55Speaker 3: I mean defensive, just guru. Never meet him, never did,
- 43:59Speaker 3: no ever have I.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Met my holiday once. I'll that go for you and
- 44:04Speaker 2: it went okay. He texted me and he said to
- 44:07Speaker 2: give you a hug. I have the text and I
- 44:08Speaker 2: was like, I'm just gonna say that, not gonna do
- 44:10Speaker 2: I said, hug on my camera. I was like, I'm
- 44:12Speaker 2: just gonna say that.
- 44:13Speaker 3: So Matt and I have been really.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Good friends for fifteen years, like old school. You guys
- 44:18Speaker 2: are super close, like real life friends. Yes, how did
- 44:21Speaker 2: that relationship come about? Man?
- 44:22Speaker 9: He was in the big leases, I was in the
- 44:24Speaker 9: minor leagues. And his wife is a better person than
- 44:28Speaker 9: him and got along with my wife. Yes, and we
- 44:32Speaker 9: just we lived in Jupiter. They lived in Jupiter in
- 44:34Speaker 9: the off season, so we would go over there and
- 44:36Speaker 9: just hang out and have dinners and man, it was we.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Were there a lot. So got to know him.
- 44:41Speaker 9: Once I got this job, I offered him the bench
- 44:43Speaker 9: coach job and he did it for about three minutes
- 44:45Speaker 9: and then chucked the deuce on me.
- 44:48Speaker 3: But I still love him. He also worked for his
- 44:49Speaker 3: brother for about three minutes and then yeah, he did
- 44:53Speaker 3: the same thing for his brother.
- 44:55Speaker 2: When you have a friend like Matt and you watch
- 44:57Speaker 2: his kids grow up to be like, I don't want
- 45:00Speaker 2: to say better because then I don't put that pressure
- 45:02Speaker 2: on them.
- 45:02Speaker 3: But they're elite, but both of them, does it make
- 45:06Speaker 3: you feel old?
- 45:08Speaker 9: I attended the wedding for Jackson and he was standing
- 45:11Speaker 9: up there, and it was the first time I was like,
- 45:12Speaker 9: what are we doing like this? I remember him very little,
- 45:17Speaker 9: but manly. The kids a beast, and Ethan's incredible as well,
- 45:21Speaker 9: so it's it'll be fun to watch them.
- 45:22Speaker 2: And Matt looks like he could still play if he
- 45:24Speaker 2: wanted to. If let's say, everybody like pulled the hamstring today, Yeah,
- 45:28Speaker 2: give him a call all at once.
- 45:29Speaker 3: No, I'm not asking that. Could you do? Could you
- 45:31Speaker 3: give three innings right now?
- 45:32Speaker 2: Me?
- 45:32Speaker 3: Yeah? Oh no, I couldn't do it what I played,
- 45:34Speaker 3: but you give he gives three innings in the field.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I chucked the deuce, you chucked eight men eight. What's
- 45:43Speaker 3: what's the hardest part about this show?
- 45:47Speaker 9: When you do it well, you sacrifice something. It's usually
- 45:51Speaker 9: comes at the expense of family, and it's hard not
- 45:54Speaker 9: to carry the losses home because I mean, you're thinking
- 45:57Speaker 9: about it NonStop.
- 45:57Speaker 3: I got two little girls, there's six and four, and
- 46:00Speaker 3: I have to It takes me about thirty minutes.
- 46:02Speaker 9: To drive home, and I need to by the time
- 46:05Speaker 9: I get home, I need to be dad because the
- 46:07Speaker 9: scrutiny is real.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Man.
- 46:08Speaker 9: This town loves one and then when you lose, they
- 46:10Speaker 9: hate you, and rightfully. So that's part of being a fan.
- 46:13Speaker 9: Things are going well great if they're not in somebody's head,
- 46:16Speaker 9: and that's mine. So making sure that when I get home,
- 46:20Speaker 9: the hardest thing is that I'm present and I'm there
- 46:22Speaker 9: for my wife and my kids. And then when I
- 46:24Speaker 9: leave home, lock it back in and do a good
- 46:26Speaker 9: job here.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Could you get unlimited massages here with the staff?
- 46:29Speaker 6: Oh?
- 46:29Speaker 3: For sure, right, because that's what I would do.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I would command every day. I mean, because obviously the
- 46:32Speaker 2: players need work. I mean, could you just come in
- 46:34Speaker 2: twenty minutes early and every day and have an appointment?
- 46:37Speaker 3: Can I? Yeah? Yeah, I've never got one you're missing out.
- 46:43Speaker 3: That's the first thing I would do. That's the first
- 46:44Speaker 3: thing I tousted.
- 46:45Speaker 5: Mind.
- 46:45Speaker 3: I get all the free free clothes and massages from
- 46:49Speaker 3: the trainers.
- 46:49Speaker 6: And all the gum and you see, pis.
- 46:52Speaker 2: I can't do a lot of sugar now as I
- 46:53Speaker 2: gett an older sugarind of sits in my gut.
- 46:55Speaker 3: But I would do seeds. Are you getting one while
- 46:57Speaker 3: you're here? I didn't know they were free, so we
- 47:00Speaker 3: have to have to talk to the staff. Yeah, yeah,
- 47:02Speaker 3: we'll do it. How are your injuries? Do you ever
- 47:05Speaker 3: feel them?
- 47:06Speaker 6: Now?
- 47:06Speaker 2: Like if you're interesting personal from plan days and the
- 47:09Speaker 2: weather because the Midwest weather it's like changing all the time.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, not really. No, I tore my moniscus.
- 47:16Speaker 3: I feel that from time to time. But no, I'm good.
- 47:18Speaker 3: How's your arm? You still throw? I don't throw? No throw?
- 47:22Speaker 6: Great?
- 47:22Speaker 3: Yeah. See that's the thing I would do too. I'd
- 47:24Speaker 3: be playing all the time.
- 47:24Speaker 6: This is what I would be in the manager and that.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm asking him like, do you ever do that?
- 47:27Speaker 3: So if you had this job, you're running around the field.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'll be a player coaching. Get the massage
- 47:31Speaker 3: every day?
- 47:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I get a massage, eat a bunch of seeds,
- 47:34Speaker 2: change like three outfit changes during the day with all
- 47:36Speaker 2: the free.
- 47:38Speaker 3: And then I'd be a player coach shoe game will
- 47:39Speaker 3: be on point absolutely.
- 47:41Speaker 8: If you understand he's so far away from your job
- 47:43Speaker 8: that he's fantasizing.
- 47:44Speaker 3: All yeah, that's it.
- 47:46Speaker 2: It's like, you know, I work, and I do stand
- 47:48Speaker 2: up and I do podcasts and radio, and but it's
- 47:52Speaker 2: like my dream has always been to be like a
- 47:54Speaker 2: big comedian of rock. So I just we created a
- 47:56Speaker 2: comedy band and we played these shows with thousands of people.
- 47:59Speaker 2: But only did that because I want.
- 48:00Speaker 3: To be a rock star. Like we've schemed away to
- 48:02Speaker 3: be a rock star the same way I would scheme
- 48:04Speaker 3: away to be like a play to day. What does
- 48:05Speaker 3: your day look like today?
- 48:06Speaker 2: What are you doing? So we did the radio show
- 48:08Speaker 2: this morning, and we did a podcast out in front
- 48:10Speaker 2: of this. Okay, we're here talking to you, we'll talk
- 48:12Speaker 2: to probably Paul. We're going to go, but we're watching
- 48:15Speaker 2: the game.
- 48:16Speaker 3: We're gonna stay for the game. Are you hitting today?
- 48:19Speaker 8: I don't know the lettuce that'd be nice, I hear you.
- 48:23Speaker 8: The thing is, you just talked about how much you
- 48:25Speaker 8: would hit.
- 48:26Speaker 2: I know, I know, I hear you, but like I
- 48:28Speaker 2: probably need a massage after it. That's the thing I'm
- 48:31Speaker 2: worried about, is that is your whole closet red here? Yeah?
- 48:37Speaker 3: Yeah, at home? No, but you know, I mean even
- 48:39Speaker 3: at home. Like if you can't wear let's say you
- 48:41Speaker 3: go to the grocery store and you're blue. No, I
- 48:42Speaker 3: never no, I never wore red outside.
- 48:45Speaker 8: Why couldn't he wear blue because of the grocery If I.
- 48:47Speaker 9: Assign at the grocery store, the Cardinals manager wearing blue,
- 48:50Speaker 9: wearing blue, I would be like, that's bull crap. I
- 48:53Speaker 9: get it anyway, right, Yeah, do you ever read about yourself?
- 48:57Speaker 3: Oh?
- 48:57Speaker 9: No, I used to have Twitter, and it's a it's
- 49:00Speaker 9: a dangerous place, very dangerous. Yeah, it's a yeah you
- 49:03Speaker 9: don't want to look.
- 49:03Speaker 3: There's no love there. I mean I do really cool things.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Sometimes nobody ever tells me they still hate you. They
- 49:08Speaker 3: still do. Oh it makes me feel better. Yeah, No,
- 49:10Speaker 3: I don't go on there anymore. It's a there's one
- 49:13Speaker 3: hundred and sixty two, that's that's so many games. Yeah.
- 49:17Speaker 3: So the funny question is that's a lot of even
- 49:21Speaker 3: if you're you have a really good season and you
- 49:22Speaker 3: lose sor to sixty games. You have one hundred win.
- 49:25Speaker 3: That's still sixty losses that people get upset about. They'll
- 49:28Speaker 3: get upset even when you win sometimes too okay, But
- 49:30Speaker 3: the real question is do you think one sixty two
- 49:32Speaker 3: is too many games? Gosh, I don't even think about it. Man.
- 49:36Speaker 3: You put your head down and you just go, like
- 49:38Speaker 3: one spring training is over.
- 49:40Speaker 9: I don't know what day of the week it is.
- 49:41Speaker 9: I don't know what time, Like you just show up
- 49:43Speaker 9: and you just go. I've never even thought of it,
- 49:47Speaker 9: to be quite honest.
- 49:47Speaker 2: On one hand, I have a lot here's my thoughts.
- 49:50Speaker 2: On one hand, baseball as such, the history of our
- 49:55Speaker 2: country right, no doubt. And it's fun to see today
- 50:00Speaker 2: compete with fifty years ago. Okay, you know Mari hit
- 50:05Speaker 2: sixty one and sixty one, and you have McGuire, but
- 50:08Speaker 2: you have all of this like it's fun. This this
- 50:10Speaker 2: sport does that. It allows that to happen. So I
- 50:12Speaker 2: would hate for that to be gone. But I don't
- 50:16Speaker 2: keep up with one hundred and sixty two anythings Like
- 50:19Speaker 2: what would.
- 50:19Speaker 3: You shorten to? I'd probably go in the one forties
- 50:26Speaker 3: ten excuse me? Like Little League?
- 50:28Speaker 2: Yeah, you just do nine one.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I probably go because I probably go like ninety and
- 50:35Speaker 3: then seven innings.
- 50:40Speaker 9: Yes, I think one of the greatest things when we
- 50:43Speaker 9: did the during COVID, when we did the double headers
- 50:45Speaker 9: and there were seven inning double headers.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Money. I think, like football, for example, it's ninety a week.
- 50:54Speaker 2: By the way, Well, then I think we should do
- 50:56Speaker 2: eighty one and everything counts is double against the old.
- 50:58Speaker 3: School, like you do eighty one.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Okay, so I think one sixty two. As I get
- 51:03Speaker 2: older and my attention span gets shorter, I'm like, man,
- 51:05Speaker 2: I can't keep it one hundred sixt to of anything. Yeah,
- 51:07Speaker 2: I wonder if you had any thoughts on that, because
- 51:08Speaker 2: I feel like July like that's like burnout time for it. Yes,
- 51:12Speaker 2: you're right in the middle of it. Does it ever
- 51:14Speaker 2: get like that to you where you're.
- 51:15Speaker 9: But you get that, you get the All Star break
- 51:16Speaker 9: and you get that reset, which is helpful, and three
- 51:19Speaker 9: days doesn't seem like a ton. But when you don't
- 51:21Speaker 9: get many days off, three days is an eternity.
- 51:23Speaker 3: But what if you make the All Star team, then
- 51:25Speaker 3: you got to keep going. Does it look like I'm
- 51:27Speaker 3: making an All Star team? Well, you don't make All
- 51:29Speaker 3: Star office. There's nothing in here. This is the ending office. Literally,
- 51:34Speaker 3: So next season hopefully we'll see some stuff. But I
- 51:37Speaker 3: think you can.
- 51:38Speaker 9: I think you guys no for a player, and that's
- 51:39Speaker 9: why some of these guys, man, they make it and
- 51:42Speaker 9: they're toast like they're like they're gassed. So I do
- 51:47Speaker 9: hear that, and the guys will come in. They will
- 51:49Speaker 9: make the all start team. They're excited about it, obviously.
- 51:51Speaker 3: But it's it's a drained What about load management in baseball?
- 51:55Speaker 9: Yeah, when you look at how you use your pen
- 51:58Speaker 9: and given this is a big part like our season
- 52:01Speaker 9: right now, dug ourselves a hole and you want to
- 52:04Speaker 9: give guys like.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Goldie and Nato and some of these guys a day off. Man,
- 52:08Speaker 3: when you're trying to catch up. That's hard to do.
- 52:12Speaker 3: And they're great about it because they don't want days off.
- 52:14Speaker 3: But load manage it's a real thing.
- 52:17Speaker 8: Skip where's your phone during the during the game, Like
- 52:20Speaker 8: do you have it on you or is it back
- 52:21Speaker 8: in your office?
- 52:24Speaker 3: You can't have you can't have it on you.
- 52:25Speaker 8: Okay, So so say your wife wants to get ahold of.
- 52:28Speaker 3: You, she calls a trainer, Like if something real happens.
- 52:31Speaker 8: Even like, do you have a buddy who's like, man,
- 52:32Speaker 8: I need to talk to you about something my chick
- 52:34Speaker 8: left me, Like I got.
- 52:38Speaker 3: You know, if somebody needs me during the game, Yeah,
- 52:41Speaker 3: they're gonna wait. Yeah, you gotta wait.
- 52:43Speaker 9: Yeah, Like if something happens at the house, she'll call
- 52:46Speaker 9: a trainer and they'll grab me and pull me in here.
- 52:47Speaker 9: But if you need to tell me about girl leaving you.
- 52:51Speaker 3: We'll do that.
- 52:51Speaker 8: I mean, we do a radio show and we always
- 52:53Speaker 8: have those buddies. They're like, man, I'm trying to call you,
- 52:54Speaker 8: Like we're.
- 52:56Speaker 2: In like two hundred cities right now, so don't try
- 52:59Speaker 2: to FaceTime meant literally talking to millions of people.
- 53:02Speaker 9: Yes, No, I don't get any calls like people just know.
- 53:04Speaker 9: So I don't get anything during the game. If someone really,
- 53:08Speaker 9: like if my wife really needs me, that's different. But that, yeah,
- 53:11Speaker 9: it doesn't happen.
- 53:12Speaker 2: What if the let's say the eight hole, they get
- 53:14Speaker 2: the last out in the inning, so nine's up and
- 53:16Speaker 2: they go back and I don't.
- 53:18Speaker 3: Know, they say they're watching tape, but they go back
- 53:19Speaker 3: here to check their phone. Does that ever happen? Yeah,
- 53:21Speaker 3: that happens, And that's okay. I mean it happens and
- 53:25Speaker 3: is what it is.
- 53:26Speaker 9: It is what it is.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean the grown man. What if they're getting
- 53:28Speaker 3: a massage? What if you like, if they come back,
- 53:29Speaker 3: That's what I would do. I'll come back.
- 53:31Speaker 2: I'll be like, my hamstring's killing me, and I'll come
- 53:33Speaker 2: back get some work done on my my hamstring.
- 53:36Speaker 3: I'm just injured all the time. Like that's like the greatest,
- 53:38Speaker 3: the greatest thing they could happen.
- 53:39Speaker 9: But take care of it before the game starts. Yeah,
- 53:41Speaker 9: and then you're out there on the bench with the boys. Yeah, Okay,
- 53:46Speaker 9: we were ranking cool things to get from players. I'm
- 53:50Speaker 9: gonna let you on a little secret. So I don't
- 53:54Speaker 9: mean for this to be a flex, but it's gonna
- 53:55Speaker 9: sound like a little flex' do it. I was the
- 53:57Speaker 9: youngest person ever put in like the Broadcasting Hall of Fame,
- 53:59Speaker 9: Sorry about it.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Yeah, with your chest. I was the So basically I'm like,
- 54:05Speaker 3: I'm like the Babe Ruth of proadcasting. That's it. Yeah.
- 54:08Speaker 2: So we were going to talk with Paul later, and
- 54:12Speaker 2: I was gonna go because you have players in basketball
- 54:15Speaker 2: for well, the culture. They'll trade jerseys now a big
- 54:17Speaker 2: part of it. And so I was going to go,
- 54:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you something to mine. I was gonna
- 54:21Speaker 2: just give him a microphone and see what he would
- 54:24Speaker 2: give me back as the bit that's funny without telling him,
- 54:29Speaker 2: we were doing it. Yes, and Paul knows of me
- 54:32Speaker 2: a bit because he played college ball down where we're from,
- 54:34Speaker 2: no doubt, and so we were ranking the cool things
- 54:37Speaker 2: to get from players. At bottom was the sign baseball.
- 54:40Speaker 2: That's like the worst.
- 54:41Speaker 3: That's okay, I'm with you, okay. Second would be a
- 54:44Speaker 3: batting love. Yeah, that might be. Things seemed worse than baseball.
- 54:47Speaker 3: I'd rather have a ball, okay, Yeah, who are those
- 54:50Speaker 3: balls in your desk? By the way, my little girls
- 54:51Speaker 3: got it.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Third, we got to the very top. So what's the
- 54:56Speaker 2: coolest thing you could get? Before we tell you what
- 54:58Speaker 2: our answer was, man, and don't go crazy.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Skip like.
- 55:03Speaker 8: The locker room.
- 55:04Speaker 3: Out of the locker room. I probably rather have cleats
- 55:08Speaker 3: over a bat or a jersey or yeah. I thought
- 55:12Speaker 3: cleat's over bat. They didn't think cleats was that cool.
- 55:13Speaker 3: I thought cleats were awesome.
- 55:15Speaker 8: I went batting helmet.
- 55:17Speaker 1: When do you ever see anyone give their batting helmet away?
- 55:20Speaker 3: Not often? And then they went glove. And then glove
- 55:23Speaker 3: because the glove would never happen, but that one's not
- 55:26Speaker 3: gonna happens. That's like, yeah, the thing that would be
- 55:29Speaker 3: Uh the players have multiple gloves in their locker.
- 55:31Speaker 9: Oh gosh, yeah, yeah, but there's there's like a practice club,
- 55:34Speaker 9: a game glove, and then one that they're breaking in
- 55:36Speaker 9: in order to kind of cycle it through.
- 55:38Speaker 3: So that was number one on the list. I can
- 55:40Speaker 3: see that. Do you have any cool memorabilia form players? Oh? Man,
- 55:45Speaker 3: I rarely ask.
- 55:47Speaker 9: From that last year of Albert and the audience stuff.
- 55:50Speaker 9: I got some cool stuff there from them that they
- 55:52Speaker 9: kind of gave me at the end.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Of the year, but I rarely asked. Like an opposing team,
- 55:58Speaker 3: how do you feel about managers wearing uniforms? I have
- 56:01Speaker 3: to No, I know, I know you have to, but
- 56:03Speaker 3: I'm saying, would you choose? This is a big thing
- 56:06Speaker 3: in the city. They get mad when I don't warn
- 56:08Speaker 3: my jersey. That's the thing. Yeah, what do they go
- 56:11Speaker 3: on Twitter? The thing that we talked about.
- 56:14Speaker 2: We've heard of it?
- 56:15Speaker 3: Yes, they really? Oh yeah, and I again, baseball is
- 56:18Speaker 3: awesome because it's traditions, right.
- 56:20Speaker 9: Yeah, Like I wear pants and I don't mind like
- 56:24Speaker 9: throwing the hoodie on, and I'm good to go, you know,
- 56:26Speaker 9: but they really like the jersey's are real things.
- 56:28Speaker 3: So I wear my jersey every day.
- 56:29Speaker 2: But let's say that they were they get you were
- 56:31Speaker 2: the only person on the board of change. Would you
- 56:34Speaker 2: have managers wear the full uniform?
- 56:37Speaker 3: The full uni Yeah, gosh, you're gonna make people hate
- 56:40Speaker 3: me even more. No, I don't think I would either, though. Yeah.
- 56:43Speaker 3: I think that's one of the traditions that I don't
- 56:45Speaker 3: because most not you great physical.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Shape, Yeah, you look good, you look good skip, But
- 56:50Speaker 2: I would if I were a manager, I wouldn't want
- 56:53Speaker 2: my big gut hanging out over my.
- 56:56Speaker 3: For me, I wouldn't want that.
- 56:57Speaker 8: You're constantly like walking through your pants. That's a plumber fit,
- 57:01Speaker 8: right man.
- 57:02Speaker 3: And I'm not talking about anybody specifically, but I wouldn't
- 57:05Speaker 3: want that about with me. Yes, and so you don't
- 57:07Speaker 3: worry about that for probably what would you wear?
- 57:10Speaker 2: I was? I would just wear a hoodie and like
- 57:12Speaker 2: just like some no, the Adidas pant I don't want
- 57:15Speaker 2: baseball pants either.
- 57:16Speaker 3: You don't fill them out. That's not very nice. We
- 57:20Speaker 3: don't like that.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Being honest, I didn't like that one bit, all right, Okay,
- 57:25Speaker 2: so real question about this. Yeah, I feel like now
- 57:28Speaker 2: we're building a little bit, made a rough start. You
- 57:30Speaker 2: feel like we're almost back to five hundred as.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Of right now. Yeah, duggerself as a whole.
- 57:37Speaker 9: The biggest thing was the offense not coming together, clicking together,
- 57:41Speaker 9: and everything else actually looked really good when you look
- 57:43Speaker 9: at the pitching, the rotation, the bullpen, defense, all the
- 57:46Speaker 9: way around. It was it was clean. The hitters were
- 57:50Speaker 9: a little behind, and now we've caught up and we've
- 57:52Speaker 9: put it together and we've won eight out of ten
- 57:53Speaker 9: or so. But I do feel like we're heading in
- 57:56Speaker 9: a really good direction.
- 57:57Speaker 3: You feel like you have an open door, and do
- 57:59Speaker 3: they accept the open door to the players come and
- 58:01Speaker 3: talk to you. Yeah, that's one thing that's been really good.
- 58:04Speaker 3: These guys.
- 58:05Speaker 9: I mean, I've known a lot of them for for
- 58:07Speaker 9: a while, and they're comfortable coming in here and shooting
- 58:10Speaker 9: the straight.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Like. Our biggest word is honesty, and sometimes you have
- 58:14Speaker 3: to say things that people don't want to hear. But
- 58:16Speaker 3: it goes both ways and I think it works well.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Man.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Are you younger than some of the players, I believe
- 58:22Speaker 3: so that's when Wayna was here for sure.
- 58:25Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Getting boss people around older than you, that's awesome. That's freak.
- 58:29Speaker 3: That's the coolest.
- 58:30Speaker 2: That might be the coold part of the job.
- 58:31Speaker 3: That would be awesome. Okay, I got We have three
- 58:35Speaker 3: final questions. Do you ever go to the mound full
- 58:38Speaker 3: intention to pull a guy and he convinces you otherwise,
- 58:41Speaker 3: even though is made.
- 58:43Speaker 9: Up, it's happened before, Yes, this year it's it has
- 58:49Speaker 9: not with Wayno, it happened a couple of times with Wyno.
- 58:54Speaker 3: So what could he say? Gosh, he's just like you
- 58:58Speaker 3: go out there. You know he's gassed. It's I'm And
- 59:01Speaker 3: there's a level of respect of like, man, let me
- 59:04Speaker 3: get this last guy.
- 59:05Speaker 9: These are my runs. Let me be the one to
- 59:07Speaker 9: give it up. I got this and you you sit
- 59:09Speaker 9: there and you on your way back to the dugout.
- 59:12Speaker 9: You're going, this is a bad idea. And there's times
- 59:15Speaker 9: that works out, and there's times it doesn't. You just
- 59:18Speaker 9: kind of keep going. But there is a level of
- 59:20Speaker 9: trust of looking a guy in the eye and saying,
- 59:21Speaker 9: you know what, all right, I.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Trust you, it's yours. Go get it, and it pays
- 59:25Speaker 3: dividends down the road.
- 59:26Speaker 1: You know, yelling at the oh boy go yeah, Like,
- 59:31Speaker 1: what's like, do you think that you have a chance
- 59:33Speaker 1: when you get up there to win that argument?
- 59:35Speaker 3: I don't think you're trying to win anything. What are
- 59:38Speaker 3: you what's the what is the win? Gosh, just letting
- 59:44Speaker 3: it eat.
- 59:44Speaker 9: Just you hold it in for so long and you
- 59:48Speaker 9: see your guys get screwed and listen, they're trying to
- 59:52Speaker 9: do their job, and for the most part, they do
- 59:54Speaker 9: a good job. But there's times where you're just sitting
- 59:57Speaker 9: there and enough's enough and you go out and you
- 59:59Speaker 9: just yell into their soul.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Yeah, we just Helarady wants robots, that's what I heard.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: He wants Have you gotten too close to where like
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: you spit on your Like no, no, man, Like you're
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: not trying to disrespect that right, No, no, no, I'm not.
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: Actually I'm saying while you're yelling like no.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: No, I have not, And I actually like it when
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: they come back at you. That's what makes it. I mean,
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: we are in the entertainment business and people asked to
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: be thrown like once, yeah once. This was I think
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: last year.
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: It might have been in twenty two, but yeah, I
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: went out and one of the first things was get
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: me out of this one.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: You just go at it for a little bit. They
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: tossed you. That's awesome. Yeah, it'd be so cool to
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: be tossed.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Yes, I get a massage immediately training And where did
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: you go? Where did you go?
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Skip?
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: When we're at home, I chill right here, I turn
- 1:00:46Speaker 9: it on the TV and we'll just watch it from
- 1:00:48Speaker 9: in here. And it gives you easy access in case
- 1:00:51Speaker 9: people still need you during the game. I'm trying to
- 1:00:55Speaker 9: think of on the road.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: I try to stay in.
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: Dang it, no, because you still have to do post games,
- 1:01:08Speaker 9: so it's not start drinking and you know, slur your words.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Last question, it comes to analytics.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: I feel like we've seen like the analytics stock market
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: go up and down and then it became everything. It's
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: fun as a per to look like ex of velocity, right,
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Like that's fun to see and compare, But it gets
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: to be too much sometimes. And as a manager, how
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: much now do you do you feel like it's back
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: on the let's let's let human and intuition take over
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: a little more than it was five years ago.
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: I don't think it needs to be nearly as polarizing
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: of a conversation as people make it like it's information
- 1:01:44Speaker 9: that's all it is, and I'm gonna take as much
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: of it as possible to inform my decision, but it's
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: not going to make my decision right. So I'm in
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: favor of bring me everything you got, whether that's a
- 1:01:56Speaker 9: coach that's seeing something and has a gut feel for
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: a player or a situation, or someone from upstairs coming
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: down and saying, hey, here's what we're seeing trend wise.
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: So for me, it's man, give me as much information
- 1:02:08Speaker 9: to make my decisions possible. Still, you can contradict that, though,
- 1:02:11Speaker 9: and go, I'm not feeling that. I've never had someone
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: from our analytics apartment or president or anybody come downstairs
- 1:02:18Speaker 9: and question the decision based on your gut versus the numbers.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: Not once, and that's not everywhere. I can tell you that. Yeah,
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: and where would it be listening right now?
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: We really appreciate it, really cool to see that that
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: that turn around already the season and now rooting for
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: you guys, I got to keep it going, and yeah,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: let's keep it going.
- 1:02:43Speaker 8: I like you.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: I think I've decided I'm going to play for you someday.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: All right, some day, dude, your life. All right, thanks coach,
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Now you.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Got us all right, thanks to coach Mama, Thanks to
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: the Cardinals. We'll come back in a minute. We'll talk
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: to Paul gold Schmidt and we'll do our endody good. Yeah,
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: all right, we'll take a break, all right. Paul gold Schmidt.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: What a big freaking dude.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Oh he's a monster. I didn't realize he was that.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: He's a football player. Big. He's big. He's not, He's
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: not just like big. He's tall, big bone. He had
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: a big muscled, big dude. His hands excuse me what
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: I didn't notice?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I didn't notice his hands.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I was talking more like his biceps. A big dude.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: It's super cool to us. I think it was cool
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: that he was a listener of the show back in
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: the day. Yeah, when he was playing collegeball, he would
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: listen to the bibone show. That was super neat.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I think it helped, dude, And honestly, I think I
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: got the best compliment that I've ever gotten in this
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: industry or whatever you want to call it is. After
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: the interview, he says like, wow, now I understand, Like, well,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: you guys do what you do, You're really good at it,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: and I'm like, that's really cool.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: He said he hates doing interviews, but he and he
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: enjoyed this one.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: Yeah, he wanted to do this one.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Yeah, which was cool. I think again it helped that
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: he was familiar with the show as a fan. And
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: then yeah, we just kind of let him have it,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: you know how we do here. He is in l
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: MVP twenty twenty two. And by the way, he started
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: playing some ball after we left. Yeah, he did Homer's smackeroose.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: The team started playing ball after we left.
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: Did you guys have any influence on that.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: It's that's up to you. Well, we left and they
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: got they were like, thank god, and they gotten a
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: lot better.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I saw Nolan Aeronado hit a homer.
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: Yes, he was.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: We were with him.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: We were with him too.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: I'm just saying, oh, here you go. Paul Golschmidt, one
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: of the guys on our show, was the announcer for
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: like the baseball team and so at Texas State.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and he was like, you guys are going to
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: see Paul.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: You actually have a small mini helmet on my desk
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: that you had signed somewhere. I don't know how, but
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: it's on my desk right now, you.
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: Bought it a charity auction.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: That is important.
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: That is exactly what.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: No, that is what.
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: That is where I got it.
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: I wear it every day.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: But no, it's a mini help. But and it came
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: up because he was like, oh, I used to call
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: his name out and we were like, oh, yeah, I
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: went to Texas State.
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: Yeah, so you had we thought it was school. Get
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: even heard of us?
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: I know that's true. Who knows, I'm not. I heard
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: you all on the radio, you know. But now this
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: is what I really remember. We would have six am
- 1:05:04Speaker 7: workouts and I remember we'd be sitting in the cars, like,
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: meet my three roommates and and how did you start
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: the show? Someone dude? Yeah, so we tried to get
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: pumped up before the coaches would tear us a new one.
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: And it's probably why you're so successful.
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: Honest, Yeah, that was pumped up. That's probably like the
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: thing that motivated us.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: And wow, how did you end up at Texas State
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: from because you're like Delaware Northeast right.
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: So I was born in Delaware. My parents are both
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: from the northeast, and but we moved to Texas when
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: I was about a year old. So I grew up
- 1:05:33Speaker 7: in Texas, lived in Dallas area for a few years,
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: and then I grew up outside of Houston in the Woodlands,
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: and so just you know, got recruited by a few
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: of the Texas schools and chose Texas State, and it
- 1:05:43Speaker 7: was awesome there too.
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: I was looking back at like the hard data of
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: your career.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: I didn't realize you had been drafted so late when
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: you were drafted and even you went to college, right,
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: you didn't go and play a minor league ball?
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: What we had to go to the miners after college.
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: But I'm saying a lot of like people, some folks
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: I know, don't even go to college.
- 1:06:01Speaker 7: They go right to Yeah, yeah, they go that's true. Yeah.
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: What clicked was it physically? Was it mentally like to
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: be drafted that late the Dodgers draft?
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: You Dodgers took me in forty ninth round, which doesn't
- 1:06:13Speaker 7: even exist anymore, just they like doesn't I think we
- 1:06:16Speaker 7: only do twenty rounds now.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: So what happened like physically mentally? What was it for
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: you that clicked in a way of like, oh, I'm
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: starting to get this now.
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: I mean I was always a good player. I just think,
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: you know, every team knew, like, this guy's gonna need
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: more time. If we're gonna draft, we're gonna emeo. Most
- 1:06:32Speaker 7: of the guys that are signing are just very very
- 1:06:34Speaker 7: talented out of high school, and they're just you know,
- 1:06:37Speaker 7: we need to get this guy now. It's not even
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: ways of going to college. But I think, you know,
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: probably half half of the league are probably college guys,
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: and so you know, we go to college, you continue
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: to mature, continue to learn, get a lot of playing experience.
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: Even then, I went in the eighth round, so there
- 1:06:52Speaker 7: was probably two hundred and something guys drafted before me.
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: So I think again same go to the minor leagues
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: and just kind of see what's happening and continue to
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: get experience. I was probably the biggest thing.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:07:02Speaker 7: I just played every single day as many games as
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: I could, continue to just practice and work as hard
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: as I could, and just wanted to be ready if
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: I got that opportunity.
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: What was your ascension? Did you go rookie ball, A double,
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: A triple, A majors get sent back?
- 1:07:17Speaker 7: Like? What was that man I I had? I got?
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: I got fortunate. I went to rookie ball. The first
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: year it played pretty well, didn't get called up that year.
- 1:07:25Speaker 7: So the next year I went to High A ball
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: and didn't get I had a good year, but didn't
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: get called up again, and I'm like, okay, And then
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: I got to Double A the next year, and I
- 1:07:34Speaker 7: was having a probably the best year of my career,
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: and like, man, I guess they're just gonna let me
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: keep playing. And then all of a sudden I got
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: the call and they said, you're going to the big leagues.
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: Got to skip Triple A and uh go up with
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: with Arizona. We played in San Francisco and obviously a
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: day in a moment I'll never forget.
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: Did you stay up?
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Did you ever go back down? No?
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: Pretty fortunate that.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: You know, as always, I think that's one of the
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: hardest things we get called up, is just like trying
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: to get comfortable. You want to get a few hits,
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: especially some big hits. You're not gonna most guys aren't
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: gonna get up there and just dominate. So you know,
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: I definitely had my ups and downs, but was able
- 1:08:07Speaker 7: to kind of do enough to uh to stay up.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: One of my best friends, you actually had the biggest
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: contract that replaced his biggest contract one of my really
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: good friends is Matt Holliday, and so he got sent down.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: He didn't come up here the same like he got
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: sent back down. We're gonna let the leaves he get blown.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: We edit this out, fire them, fire them, you have.
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: We need those guys.
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, So what are they doing blowing water off
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: the field?
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: Water or just dirt, sunflower seeds, whatever it is.
- 1:08:38Speaker 6: They don't know who you are, No, they do.
- 1:08:40Speaker 7: That's why it takes such good care of the field.
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: Somebody said that they're the best around. Like do you
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: just say that every ground Yeah? Everybody said there or
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: is like.
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: What makes them so good?
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: No, they do good.
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: They don't even care that the stars doing an interview.
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: They don't care about interviews. I think to me, it's
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: just they care about it. You can we're undername names
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: where there's some places where the grounds crew kind of
- 1:09:02Speaker 7: does their job and they leave and you don't see
- 1:09:04Speaker 7: him for a few hours, or they just kind of
- 1:09:06Speaker 7: like break the infield. And then you see most places
- 1:09:10Speaker 7: where the grounds crew is always there. If some needs attention,
- 1:09:12Speaker 7: they're kind of going overboard, like you know, sweeping up
- 1:09:15Speaker 7: some flower sieves which make no uh no effect. On
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: the ball.
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: Do you feel like if you bench press a lot,
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: your swing gets a little tighter. I do plans off ball, yeah,
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: of course.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: No.
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: Yeah, there's a point of no return where you know
- 1:09:28Speaker 7: too much bench press is too much. But uh I
- 1:09:31Speaker 7: think you also want one strength too.
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: So do you give a max out?
- 1:09:35Speaker 7: No, Well, the last time I did that was probably
- 1:09:38Speaker 7: in college, and uh so, no, I think not many
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: guys are max out it.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I did that like three weeks ago. Yeah, take
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: a guess. Take your guess, und we'll take it close.
- 1:09:50Speaker 6: We'll move on with real close. Yeah, we'll take it
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: a real question.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: So in twenty two, when you win the MVP, do
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: you watch what's happening as it's going, like you think
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: I'm in the race?
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: Like, do you keep up with that at all?
- 1:10:02Speaker 7: I really try not to. It's more just like I
- 1:10:06Speaker 7: don't want to get distracted, you know, I don't want
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: Oh i'm doing good, let's keep it going, or if
- 1:10:11Speaker 7: that adds pressure, Oh I'm struggling now I need to
- 1:10:14Speaker 7: step it up. So for me, it's just really staying
- 1:10:15Speaker 7: in the moment. But that year was unique just because
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: you know, I went to the All Star Game and
- 1:10:21Speaker 7: then going into that last month, you know, you get
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: asked a lot of questions by the media, and I
- 1:10:24Speaker 7: think that's where I just kind of find everything out.
- 1:10:26Speaker 7: And so I knew the last month that you know,
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: me and a few other guys we had a chance
- 1:10:31Speaker 7: once you do that, So I didn't want to put
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: too much pressure on myself. And I actually didn't have
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: a good last month, so maybe maybe that was the reason,
- 1:10:39Speaker 7: but ended up good enough and was able to win
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: that award.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: What's a slump for you? How many at bats without
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: getting a clean hit.
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: Any hits, a clean hit. I mean, I'll take any
- 1:10:51Speaker 7: hit I can get, but I mean you start going,
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: you know, you go a whole series was three or
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: four games. I mean you're thinking, man, that was that
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: was over thirteen? Yeah, over twelve. I wouldn't call it
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: a slump. Maybe double that. Maybe you get into twenties,
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: you're like, okay, there's got to usually be some bad
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: luck once you get into fifteen twenty. I mean, you
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: can swinging bun or you can find a hole out
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: there somewhere. But when you start to get it there,
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: and I think a couple of weeks ago I had
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: like thirty that might have been if it wasn't my longest,
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: it felt like the longest.
- 1:11:19Speaker 6: So what do you do to not think about it?
- 1:11:21Speaker 6: Or what do you do to break it?
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: Break it? You just keep waiting and again try not
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: to try not to press, and for me it's a
- 1:11:29Speaker 7: little bit maybe just have some fun with it, but
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: I think seriously just trying to stay in the moment.
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: I mean, each day is a new day, and try
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: to just keep that mindset. And you know, we've been
- 1:11:40Speaker 7: training for that, so same thing when you're going well,
- 1:11:43Speaker 7: you don't want to show up and just kind of
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: goof off for a few hours and not get ready
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: for the game. So try to find that sweet spot
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: of focus but still having fun.
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: Goldie.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: When you hit one out, do you know as soon
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: as you make contact with the bat that it's it's gone?
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: I'd say about ninety eight percent of the time. Yeah,
- 1:11:58Speaker 7: there's the two percent where you're like, oh, that's going
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: to be close, and whether it's the win or just
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: the way you hit it, and then you're just kind
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: of watching. But yeah, yeah, ninety five ninety percent of
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: time you're like, you know, what's gone, which even watching
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: other guys they hit it and I'm like, I don't know.
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: When they start celebrating and goes over by like two feet,
- 1:12:15Speaker 7: I'm like, man, how'd you know that? Every once in
- 1:12:19Speaker 7: a while you get caught and then that's why you
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: got to make sure you're running and don't get embarrassed
- 1:12:23Speaker 7: out of there and throwing out at least get a double.
- 1:12:26Speaker 7: But I don't know, maybe just because we've done it
- 1:12:28Speaker 7: so much. I don't know why, but it's just like,
- 1:12:29Speaker 7: you know, like even a BB that's gone. Although the
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: worst feeling is when you think you get it and
- 1:12:33Speaker 7: then they catch it and you're like, oh, man, that's
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: something's off today or something like that.
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: The NBA.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Working a lot of the players with load management, right,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: a lot of games, so not as many as Baseball,
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: but you know they're playing ninety games.
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: They run a lot more than us.
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: They do run a lot more than you, but you
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: do you play a lot more.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: How do you feel about load management in Major League
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: Baseball to keep players healthier longer.
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: Well, I mean that's one strategy I think for me,
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: when I came up, you had to play every day.
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: If you didn't play every day, you know you weren't
- 1:13:03Speaker 7: going to have a job. Honestly, So you know, I
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: kind of give our guys a hard time if if
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: they're taking I mean, the play does It's not really
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: the player's choice, you know, it comes from the management
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: or the coaches or whatever. And I understand that there's
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: times to take days off, but I think just the
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: whole theory on that has changed a lot. I mean,
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: when NBA, NFL, MLBS, like you, you played until you
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: got hurt or until you couldn't play anymore, and so
- 1:13:24Speaker 7: that was kind of the way I was brought up.
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: So it's it's hard to change my mindset on that.
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: And I think there's a mental part of that too
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: that's really good. It's like, man, maybe I'm not one hundred.
- 1:13:34Speaker 7: I mean, you're never really at one hundred percent, but
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: maybe this would be a good day to take off.
- 1:13:37Speaker 7: But somehow you go out there and it's you know,
- 1:13:40Speaker 7: it's almost like you're just that mental toughness, that physical
- 1:13:43Speaker 7: toughness to push through it. And I think that can
- 1:13:46Speaker 7: pay dividends in the long room. But there's also times
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: when you know you got to take days.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Off, right final five, adding your question, can you hear
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: people when you're on debt, like and I don't want
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: to give them fuel.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: But but but I remember I went to a Mets game,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: like a long time time ago, and Mike Piazzas had
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: just died his hair like white, like blonde, and somebody's like,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: you dip, you dip, and one hundred percent he heard him,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: but Mike never turned around, Like can you hear him?
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: One?
- 1:14:10Speaker 6: And how do you deal with that crap?
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, you can hear him, And uh, you know,
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: for me, it's like just that perspective. I think there's
- 1:14:17Speaker 7: times when maybe you can, you know, get annoyed or whatever.
- 1:14:20Speaker 7: Usually when you're struggling and then you know you're going good.
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: You got two hits and a homer, like you say
- 1:14:24Speaker 7: whatever you want. I'm I'm about to go get my
- 1:14:26Speaker 7: third here right here. But I kind of just changed
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: my mindset of like just kind of enjoying it and
- 1:14:31Speaker 7: just taking it. I mean, it doesn't happen at home. Obviously,
- 1:14:33Speaker 7: they're cheering for you most of the time, and so
- 1:14:35Speaker 7: you go on the road, you know, those tougher environments
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: and I'm just like it's fun. And also, man, I
- 1:14:41Speaker 7: grew up going to a lot of ball games. I
- 1:14:42Speaker 7: yelled at a lot of guys, and I was an amateur,
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: so I always tell her, I, man, this is payback now,
- 1:14:46Speaker 7: and so when it happens, I'm looking back at my
- 1:14:48Speaker 7: sixteen year old self as I was in the stands
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: talking trash, like all right, you deserve this right now,
- 1:14:54Speaker 7: and then that kind of just makes me smile and
- 1:14:56Speaker 7: just try to take it in.
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: Four left, Who did you play with or against when
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: you first came up where you were like, that's freaking cool,
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: I'm on the field with this person.
- 1:15:05Speaker 7: Well, my favorite player was Lance Berkman growing up in Houston,
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: So when he got to first base and he knew
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: who I was, that was pretty cool. But I mean
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: then there's Derek Jeter at the All Star Game. I
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: mean that was like everyone's favorite player. I think those
- 1:15:18Speaker 7: two guys kind of stick out, and a lot of
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: times my rookie year is like, don't think about who's
- 1:15:23Speaker 7: on the mound, you know, because I'm competing against this guy.
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: But I've been watching a lot of the guys for
- 1:15:27Speaker 7: ten plus years and you knew him, maybe you're rooting
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: for him, or you just know how good they were.
- 1:15:31Speaker 7: And it was almost like this mental mind trick to
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: just be like, all right, he's just another guy, or
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: you know, compare him to someone else to try to
- 1:15:38Speaker 7: just you know, stay competitive.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Is it cool to be at the mall or someplace
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: and see you're like someone wearing new jersey and do
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: you even go up to him?
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: Sometimes?
- 1:15:46Speaker 7: No, I usually I won't go up to him, but no,
- 1:15:49Speaker 7: it is cool. And I think especially when it first
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: happens when you're young, and now even now and you
- 1:15:54Speaker 7: just see the kids, especially because that's I still pitch
- 1:15:57Speaker 7: myself as a kid, and you know, I watched baseball
- 1:15:59Speaker 7: and all sorts every night and just wanted to be
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: like those guys. So I think when I see those kids,
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: and you know it used to be autographed, now say
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: can I take a selfie with you? Or can I
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: take a picture? But uh, you know you walk away
- 1:16:09Speaker 7: like man, that was really cool because I could, you know,
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: see myself in there in their shoes.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: All right, Final two questions. You play a lot of baseball.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: You play a lot of baseball here, But where is
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: your It's gonna be difficult question. Possibly where do you
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: like to play?
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: That's not here?
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: I mean wherever I play?
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: Well, what but you're you're going what what stadium do
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: you like like aesthetically or you hit well.
- 1:16:32Speaker 7: I haven't. I haven't played well there, but I do
- 1:16:34Speaker 7: like when we go to Philly you talk about fans
- 1:16:36Speaker 7: talking trash, there's they're as good as anyone, And uh
- 1:16:40Speaker 7: so I kind of try to just enjoy that energy
- 1:16:42Speaker 7: that that those stadiums bring and with them kind of
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: you know, being in the World Series a couple of
- 1:16:46Speaker 7: years ago and be so good that that place has
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: had a lot of energy. It's a good place to hit.
- 1:16:49Speaker 7: You know, no one wants to go to the stadium
- 1:16:51Speaker 7: where there's not as many fans. And then also as
- 1:16:54Speaker 7: a hitter where the outfield's huge. You know, if you
- 1:16:57Speaker 7: got you know the ball where the ball flies or
- 1:16:59Speaker 7: the pick, you know, probably going to like the course
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: field where the ball. Yeah but yeah, So I mean
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: anytime we can kind of feel that adrenaline, feel the crowd,
- 1:17:09Speaker 7: feel the big game, whatever it is, you know, that's
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: fun because with one hundred and sixty two games, we're
- 1:17:14Speaker 7: not feeling that every day. And there are some games,
- 1:17:16Speaker 7: as much as we don't want to admit it, that
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: can just kind of feel just kind of a little
- 1:17:21Speaker 7: bit more boring. And so when we can get that
- 1:17:22Speaker 7: adrenaline for whatever reason, whether it's the fans, the stadium.
- 1:17:25Speaker 7: Sometimes it can be the other team or something that's happened.
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: It's always fun that way, all.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Right, Last question the culture in sports NFL, especially NBA.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: You're singing, I don't know if it happens much in baseball,
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: but like after a game where players will trade jersey.
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: Has that ever happened with you guys?
- 1:17:40Speaker 7: I saw it the last couple of years, but not
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: as much, right, No, not as much. And again like
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: in those I don't know why, but I guess it's
- 1:17:47Speaker 7: probably tradition and those sports the players are kind of
- 1:17:49Speaker 7: on the field at the end and they're kind of
- 1:17:51Speaker 7: shaking hands. We're in baseball. We just shake hands with
- 1:17:53Speaker 7: their own teams, so you don't really have that much interaction,
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: especially once the game's over. But when we had Albert Pools,
- 1:17:59Speaker 7: Yadi or Malina, guys are coming across, hey, cree jer
- 1:18:01Speaker 7: jerseys or are after the game, so you get the
- 1:18:04Speaker 7: greats like that. You know guys will will go out
- 1:18:06Speaker 7: of their way to try to get something from them.
- 1:18:08Speaker 6: Well, this is what I have.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: This is my final suggestion on this question. So because
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: of that, culture. I know you probably don't know this.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: So I was the youngest member ever in the Radio
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: Hall of Fame. You be in the Hall of Fame
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: one day, for sure.
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: I'm gonna trade you my microphone. Look at this, this
- 1:18:24Speaker 6: is this is yours. You get to have this, all right,
- 1:18:26Speaker 6: give me back, that's yours.
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: I mean, I guess I gotta go with a jersey, right, No, no,
- 1:18:30Speaker 7: it's what you don't have to do anything. So what
- 1:18:33Speaker 7: you're gonna want is a baseball bat because that's the
- 1:18:36Speaker 7: best collectible.
- 1:18:37Speaker 6: We also debated what the best collectible was for me.
- 1:18:40Speaker 7: It's baseball bat for sure, okay, and that's what I
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: have from guys on other teams that I like. And
- 1:18:44Speaker 7: so if you go go to my house, I got
- 1:18:47Speaker 7: I got a bunch of one display. It's cool because
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: they're all different. I don't know if all the microphones
- 1:18:51Speaker 7: are the same. But you know, in jerseys, again, they're cool,
- 1:18:56Speaker 7: but they're all the same. They're all mostly the same size,
- 1:18:58Speaker 7: are the same. For bat, you know, the grips are different.
- 1:18:59Speaker 7: I don't know most people know the wood bats can
- 1:19:02Speaker 7: be completely customized way shape. There's limitations, but uh so
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: you go pick up Albert Pools's bat. That guy was
- 1:19:10Speaker 7: like a Greek god. So he's got a heavy bat
- 1:19:13Speaker 7: that you can swing somehow faster than anyone you might
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: get another guy. Uh he's got you know, a skin
- 1:19:17Speaker 7: in your bat or a lighter bat. And so to me,
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: it's it's cool when people come over the house and
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: they want to see all the players different bets.
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: What about the helmet though, Paul, I mean that's just.
- 1:19:24Speaker 7: The size of your head. So uh that's uh, there's
- 1:19:28Speaker 7: not They're all the same shape. But yeah, we debated.
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: Okay, I'm gonna sign this Hall of Fame microphone ask
- 1:19:33Speaker 6: this to you. This is the first and.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: I've never done this before.
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: All right, yeah, and so we know you're gonna value
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: and treasure this.
- 1:19:38Speaker 7: I'm gonna definitely it'll be displayed. It'll be it'll be
- 1:19:41Speaker 7: with all my other mom in.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: The garbage, and then we'll just see what at some
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: point what comes back. I'm gonna sign this. We go,
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: here we go, Okay, silver one.
- 1:19:52Speaker 8: We have a silver one.
- 1:19:53Speaker 6: Oh, let's go. Do we need here?
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: We go?
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Read?
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: Thank you seriously?
- 1:19:58Speaker 7: Though, which which one of you all is from Saint
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: Louis or interesting Lewis fan neither. I mean, I thought
- 1:20:02Speaker 7: one of all due.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: What's crazy is I was telling him earlier that my
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: dad he went on a business trip when I was
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: like eight or nine years old and brought me back
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: to Saint Louis hat and like, I mean automatically at
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: that age, You're like, I love the Cardinals, you know,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: so like I don't have a team. I'm from Texas
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: to the Astros were our team.
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: Yeah, I love the Cardinals, dude, Yeah, that's cool.
- 1:20:20Speaker 6: I can't tell you the truth. I've been very quiet
- 1:20:22Speaker 6: about the truth.
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: You're your Cubs fan massive. That's why you're here tonight.
- 1:20:26Speaker 7: No to watch it, watch it, to watch this beat
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: your team.
- 1:20:28Speaker 6: No, I know that I have not said that. I'm
- 1:20:32Speaker 6: being respectful. And I even have on a red sto hat.
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: I know that's impressive.
- 1:20:36Speaker 6: Notice that, like there's not a Cardinal on it.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: But it's me trying.
- 1:20:40Speaker 6: I'm trying.
- 1:20:40Speaker 7: You know, we're in St. Louis. Yeah, you're halfway there.
- 1:20:42Speaker 7: We're good.
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: I'm trying and I did not admit that to anybody,
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: and I'm being but yeah, yeah, I grew up a
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: massive Cubs fan.
- 1:20:49Speaker 7: I still have respect for that. You gotta cheer for
- 1:20:50Speaker 7: your team. You gotta be low to your team. And no,
- 1:20:53Speaker 7: I'm not a Cowboys fan, all right? Uh Cowboys man?
- 1:21:02Speaker 6: You are you a Texans fan?
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: I like the Texas. I've just been gone from Texas
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: for so long. It's just hard, Like, what are my
- 1:21:08Speaker 7: brothers and my dad they go when they root for
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: the Texas. They still live in Houston. I don't know.
- 1:21:12Speaker 7: I don't really have a NFL team, right. I mean,
- 1:21:15Speaker 7: I hate to say it, but it's fantasy football now,
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: and I hate that because I love rooting for teams.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: But I just did you play high school football? I
- 1:21:23Speaker 7: played in seventh and eighth grade. Wedding and play in
- 1:21:25Speaker 7: high school? Were you bigger than everybody by the end
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: of high school? But now when I started, I mean,
- 1:21:30Speaker 7: I think and that I think that's what kind of
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: I was kind of how you go play wide receiver
- 1:21:34Speaker 7: and you're kind of short and quick and uh. But
- 1:21:37Speaker 7: I loved baseball. And I didn't choose baseball because I
- 1:21:40Speaker 7: thought I could make a career of it. I just
- 1:21:42Speaker 7: I liked it and I was getting pounded by a
- 1:21:44Speaker 7: lot bigger guys. And in the state of Texas, football
- 1:21:46Speaker 7: is no jokes. So here we go, Here we go,
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: SHARPI thank you, all right, here we go.
- 1:21:53Speaker 6: This is a hall of fame. I'm never giving away
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: a microphone before.
- 1:21:56Speaker 7: Well you got to write h on it, of course.
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: My hero Anthony Rizz. Hey, I'll get this to Anthony
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: Rizzo for you. I'll get it to him.
- 1:22:12Speaker 6: That's all the time I've ever done this. He's still here.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: You go.
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: Paul, go, cards, Hey, go cards, card Let's go. All right,
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: we really appreciate the time.
- 1:22:21Speaker 6: Throw that away.
- 1:22:22Speaker 7: Leave no chances.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: Thanks, all right, thanks to Paul or is that he
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: calls him Goldie Goldie, thank you? And check out our
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: full too much Access episode where we talked to them
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: obviously and we play ball on the field.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: And Eddie breaks his foot. Man, and I want everyone
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: to know, like, look, I had broken my foot early on.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: So when you see me miss all those fly balls,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: my foot was broken, I.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: Hear you, and I completely agree that you if it
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: was broken, But that foot does it when you're trying
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: to run and get to the ball, even the ones
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: you went running to the form.
- 1:22:52Speaker 7: That I know.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: The wind was blowing, wind was blowing, and if people
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: could just see that wind blowing in Saint Louis that
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: day that ball was moving left right.
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: Was your adrenaline just pumping or yeah, dude, I.
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: Mean there was no one in the stands, but all
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: you see are our seats.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: You're in the stadium, and it's just I mean, it's
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: like high tense moment and that ball's coming and it's
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: coming fast, and it's moving left, it's moving right, and
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: then you're gonna put your face right under it. I'm like,
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: now I'm not doing that.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: But that's how you catch a ball. Go watch your episode,
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: mister Bobby Bones on Instagram or at two much access
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: Bobby Bones, and we will come back after this quick break. Okay,
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: So a couple of things. One Jake Paul and Mike
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: Tyson that has been moved to November fifteenth. Oh, they
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: are to still have the fight. And it wasn't that.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Mike Tyson was so so so sick. He couldn't fight.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: He got also couldn't train, so like he had an
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: ulster of flare up when they pulled them off there Heay,
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: he wasn't a wheelchair off the plane, but you wanted
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: a wheelchair for your foot, So it's like it that's true.
- 1:23:53Speaker 6: Store.
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: But so they still expect the fight to happen, but
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: it wouldn't have been fair becus Tyson couldn't train. Hey,
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: what's up with McGregor?
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: Yeah, what I saw a post that he heard that
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: said find out why he canceled the press the press conference,
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, click on the link and
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: it was some subscription. I'm like, I'm not doing this
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: if it.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: Was promo for it last night at the game on
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: the during the game, the fight is still on.
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but fight.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: The fight is still on for June twenty eighth, I believe,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: or twenty nine.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: That's what I thought it might be canceled. I thought
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: McGregor might have been injured, injured himself in training or something.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: That's all Chandler like posting stuff.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: On his Instagram, Like, dude, Chandler looks strong.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Motivational quotes and crap, he looks strong.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: He looks like he's so ready to go.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: I mean, we're all ready for Chandler, right, we are
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: one percent.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: And I love I love McGregor, I do, but I
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: feel like McGregor's that, uh, that's just kind of been
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: chilling making movies and kind of just loving the.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: He was like at a club. You see clip him
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: at a club like week ago.
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: Uh yeah, was his wife?
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: Yeah, they were like going in front. What do you
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: mean they granded? They were, they were having they were
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: I don't know. I thought maybe he was drunk or
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: on something. They were the club going hard.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: Yeah see, and then I'll you see Chandler, this dude's
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: at the gym. He's not at the club.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: I can't say what it's for, and two final things
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: will be done. I can't say what it's for. You
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: guys know, but they won't let me say it. Yeah,
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: but I am playing in something and they've asked me
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: for a walkout song. Oh, so be thinking about that
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: for the next episode. A walkout song, because I yes,
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: I'm not represents you, and I'm not sure if I'm
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: what I'm doing because you know right.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: I do know, you know right, you know right, I'm
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: gonna saynything I think.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: So I'm not sure if it's on TV or not.
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: It might be streamed on something. Usually i've seen it
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: on TV. Yeah you have every Yeah really yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: I did not know that you talk about that for
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: but think about that. I need to come out to
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: a walkout song. Don't spend a whole bunch time on it.
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: But we'll do that, okay, and then I have let's
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: do our final thoughts and then I'll wrap it up.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: You have your final thought any Yeah, he's searching for
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: a final thought, right, No, no, no, I have it.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: I have it.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: Do you want to read that statu I sent you? Oh,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: Eddie sent me dak shocks that you didn't want to
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: talk about the CD.
- 1:26:09Speaker 6: And oh yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: Basically I threw it away. What do you mean you
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: threw it away? I had a bunch of paper here
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: and I was it's basically.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: It's a comparison of Justin Jefferson and CD Lamb. You
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: want to read, it's right here, but I think the quarterback, sure,
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: but it's kind of saved under his favorite.
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: Everything's not the same, so okay, season's four four.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: I mean everything's not the same. Obviously they're playing different teams,
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: different and different quarterbacks, different quarterbacks, different goals as a
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: team all pros.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Of the four, Justin Jefferson has one more.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: So what are the numbers?
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: But hold on, so I would say Justin Jeffersons has
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: thirty three percent more All pros than C. D. Lamb
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: that's a pretty significent number. What's an All Pro Pro Bowls?
- 1:26:46Speaker 7: Three?
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: Easy to get the Pro Bowl? Almost got voted to
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: the Pro Bowl. Catches are basically the same, Well stop
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: with the basically the same. There are three catches apart.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: It's not even one person who's on top. Ceedee Lamb
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: has three ninety five. Just Jefferson has three ninety two.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: No, but here's my point point, CD No, with three
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: less catches, Justin Jefferson has over seven hundred more yards.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: But you don't understand those situations. You don't know, you
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: don't know, you don't know. If they were Hill Mary's.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: You know what, they were probably down. Justin Jefferson sucks
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: and Ceede Lamb's the best.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: How many touchdowns did you see that? Justin Jefferson thirty
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: one touchdowns in four seasons.
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: But I will say, Eddie, I'm sorry, Justin Jefferson missed
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: almost half of the season last year.
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: Well that's that's it's on him. Hey, what do you
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: say that.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: You're holding tight with it?
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll send that to you, and.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: They should pay him a whole bunch because if they do,
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: you know, they can't sign up the players.
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't say that it's a cat. But whenever
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: you talk about the top receivers, I want you to
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: put some respects probably fourth phones you put Justin Jefferson
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: in either one or two. Yes, you need to put
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: CD in there either two, no four.
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: I put him at four. You're crazy because one and
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: one A to me is Justin Jefson and Jamar Chase
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: and Tyreek Hill is two. But that would be three.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: But Tyreek kills three c Lam four. I don't I
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: feel like it's a pretty good spot to be.
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: I was gonna say, nowadays, a beer receiver top five,
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: that's pretty dang good.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, man, congratu.
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: Rogers had a top five receiver.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: Jason Tatum, like number seven overall in the NBA. All
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: of us come on.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: That means Ford is the top three.
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: Not after one game there, Kevin? What you got?
- 1:28:28Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: I got some personal news.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: Actually he's pregnant. Oh yes, what do you have? I
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: don't know the news.
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: It broke some news to Eddie not too long ago,
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: and apparently he got mad at me because I didn't
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: tell myself.
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: He had to find out from somebody else.
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: What's the news?
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: The news is? I am in a relationship.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Have we already done this once? No, you haven't the
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: last time he had a girlfriend?
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: When you did that?
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: Right? Did we did this last time you had a girlfriend?
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: I think he might have just asked me about it,
- 1:28:52Speaker 4: and I don't think so.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: Bones Okay, I don't know.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: It's not that shocking because one, you're a pretty good dude,
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: normal dude, and you already had a girlfriend at one point,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: So I guess I'm not that shocked.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: This is a serious one.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: It is serious girlfriend.
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: It's the same girl.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: What as before?
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm back with the same girl.
- 1:29:08Speaker 6: Wait, that's.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: Okay, Now we've twisted.
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: Yes, okay, so that's a twist on it.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you sait this with a.
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: Dead people and I'm that sixth sense and I'm back
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: with her and things could not be any better. And yeah,
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: like I just said, it's a very serious one. How
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: did you guys get back together?
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: It was me.
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: Took about a year off. We didn't even talk for
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: a year. I did a lot of work on myself.
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: Therapy actually is probably the biggest thing I could put
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: that too. Did a lot of work on myself.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: And it wasn't with Eddie, right, Yeah, we would meet
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: once a week.
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so a.
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: Completely different person, much more intentional now with my feelings
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: and with her and things cannot be.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: It's good man, that's awesome. Yea, I was not expecting this.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: It was the same girl though.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I mean I liked her. She
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: used to come to our basketball games when Kevin was
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: an assistant coach for my ten year old son.
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: I'm surprised she took you back.
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: I am too, thank god.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Mostly but more dudes, and we do dumb. Yes, it's
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: hard to like usually somebody else scoops them up.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I was just saying, that she didn't move, you.
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: Know, she wasn't within anybody else like, and he's like, wow,
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: you got luckily, no, dude, I know.
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: So very happy, very fortunate.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: Okay, before you man, thank you.
- 1:30:12Speaker 6: So here's the decision I had to make.
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, this is the invitation too after RSVP about
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: five o'clock today. It's the Tops Transcendent Party invitation. I
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: bought it online. What day is that it's on. It's
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: in Baltimore, it's today, it's in August. To date, it's
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: in August August.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty open in August.
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: So I don't even have to look at my calendar.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: I'm open.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: The deal is and it's tough. It is a tough decision.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: I bet it was, but I'm doing pretty clear. In August.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Here's the deal, Eddie. I'm going to offer it to you. Yeah,
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: hold on, yes, but you don't you get to go.
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: I don't know who the celebrity is gonna be this there.
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: I don't even know what it is. But any of
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: the cards that they give away I'm keeping. Just give
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: me one, okay, I'll tell you what. I'll give you
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: a few, okay, but overall, because I had to pay
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: two thousand dollars, I forget how much I had to
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: pay for this, maybe twenty eight something like that, And
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: that's awesome, that's how much, because they usually went for
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: five thousand. And I knew I got it last minute
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: because the personbably faking out, he wouldn't be able to
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: sell it. That's the invitation right there. So I got
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: an email.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: It's a golden ticket. So yeah, it's like, will you
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: I have to steal with a baseball on it and everything.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: So here's the dates. Yeah, make sure I'm open here,
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: I see you got it's we got a dental cleaning
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: on the twenty third.
