Latest / Two Ts In A Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge / Two Jersey Js: Forever a Housewife?
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hey, guys, it's Jackie Goldschneider and Jen Fessler and we
- 0:06Speaker 1: are two Jersey Jays and today we're talking housewives.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, jack, we've talked about talking about housewives
- 0:14Speaker 2: for a while, and I know we've always like kind
- 0:16Speaker 2: of tried to avoid it a little, just in the
- 0:19Speaker 2: sense that, like, there are so many housewife podcasts, right,
- 0:23Speaker 2: so we haven't really given we're not recapping. We're talking
- 0:27Speaker 2: like you're definitely not recapping. You're right, that's true. No,
- 0:29Speaker 2: but I may ask you a question, no saying it's nice,
- 0:33Speaker 2: I'm glad that we're talking a little house Yeah, No,
- 0:35Speaker 2: for sure. I mean it's a big part of both
- 0:36Speaker 2: our lives.
- 0:37Speaker 1: What kind of feeling do you get in your like
- 0:41Speaker 1: gut when you open Instagram and there's a rumor about
- 0:44Speaker 1: who's coming back and who's not.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Does it affect you or do you feel sick to
- 0:48Speaker 2: your stomach when you're asking me how I feel now,
- 0:52Speaker 2: it's very different than how I felt right when the
- 0:55Speaker 2: show went off the air and things would come up then,
- 0:58Speaker 2: I actually I took them seriously, but now much less so.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's because because it's just so constant,
- 1:08Speaker 2: you know, it's like all of these speculations that I
- 1:12Speaker 2: and I I just don't know. I don't. I don't
- 1:15Speaker 2: really buy into it anymore, do you. No.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I mean I do make a call to somebody who
- 1:21Speaker 1: knows more than me and say, hey, is there any.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Truth to this?
- 1:25Speaker 1: And I do feel better when I call it Jack,
- 1:30Speaker 1: I call Anthony.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I feel like Anthony knows enough people and he knows
- 1:37Speaker 1: enough about everything. Anthony is somebody that Jen and I
- 1:40Speaker 1: are both very close with who knows. It's like a
- 1:42Speaker 1: wizard who knows everything.
- 1:44Speaker 2: He knows everything about everything that's just housewives. He is
- 1:47Speaker 2: like the oldest young person I've ever known, the best,
- 1:51Speaker 2: just the best.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But he will always be honest with me and tell
- 1:55Speaker 1: me if there's truth to it or if there's no
- 1:57Speaker 1: truth to it. But I used to care a lot
- 2:00Speaker 1: more like you're right when the show went off the air.
- 2:02Speaker 1: If I saw a rumor that like four people and
- 2:05Speaker 1: my name wasn't on it, I'd be like, oh God.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And now it's sort of.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Like, to be honest with you, I'm gonna be totally
- 2:11Speaker 1: honest when there's a rumor that certain people are coming back.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I don't know if that means that you and I
- 2:18Speaker 1: are not coming back or we are, because I don't
- 2:20Speaker 1: know if we'd be included in that list since we're.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Fine, just because we're not well. Yes, I always assume
- 2:25Speaker 2: that it includes us. Yeah, yeah, and that just makes
- 2:29Speaker 2: me feel better. Yeah yeah. Would you ask me this, like,
- 2:33Speaker 2: does it depend on who gets recast how you'd feel
- 2:37Speaker 2: about it? Like, let's say we're not recast. Does it matter?
- 2:40Speaker 2: Because I think it probably thousand percent.
- 2:44Speaker 1: If I wasn't coming back and I found out that
- 2:46Speaker 1: four people who hate me are, yeah, I'm not gonna
- 2:50Speaker 1: feel good about it. But if the people that I'm
- 2:52Speaker 1: close to and that I really like got cast and
- 2:55Speaker 1: I didn't, but the people who hate me didn't get
- 2:57Speaker 1: cast either, yeah, i'd ride off into the sense I think.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I feel like like certain people will, it would never
- 3:04Speaker 2: upset me, like because they're iconic.
- 3:08Speaker 1: So yeah, like Melissa goes back and Teresa goes back
- 3:11Speaker 1: like I don't, I don't care. They were on it
- 3:13Speaker 1: way before I came along, and they'll be on it
- 3:16Speaker 1: after I leave. I don't know, Jen, But as it
- 3:19Speaker 1: looks right now, none of.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Us, none of us are coming back anytime soon.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So I don't think we have to worry about that.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of new shows coming up.
- 3:27Speaker 1: We'll talk to our very special guests today about all
- 3:30Speaker 1: of it. But there's a lot of new shows, and
- 3:32Speaker 1: it just makes me feel like Jersey might be sitting.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Out in the corner for a little while longer. Yeah, no,
- 3:40Speaker 2: I definitely think so. But for whatever reason, whoever talks
- 3:43Speaker 2: about it always says not this year, like that's always
- 3:47Speaker 2: the answer, not this year. So does that mean twenty
- 3:49Speaker 2: twenty six? I don't know. I don't know. I mean,
- 3:51Speaker 2: do you talk to anyone from the network. No, But
- 3:55Speaker 2: I mean that's not really No. Andy calls every week.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah I did.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I do speak to him once in a blue moon
- 4:04Speaker 1: I did a radio show and he listened to it
- 4:06Speaker 1: and we spoke about that. But other than that, now,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I don't really bother the network. I'm not one of
- 4:11Speaker 1: those and I've never been. I've never been the person
- 4:13Speaker 1: who called the network. I don't complain about the edit,
- 4:16Speaker 1: I don't complain about anything.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I'm really quiet.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And back to the point where I reached out to
- 4:20Speaker 1: one of our publicists and I was like, should I
- 4:22Speaker 1: be contacting the network about anything? And she was like, no, no, no,
- 4:25Speaker 1: it's better when you don't.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I don't think. I just don't. I don't think I do.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 4:30Speaker 1: People say the squeaky wheel gets the oil, but I
- 4:32Speaker 1: kind of feel like there's a value in not being annoying.
- 4:34Speaker 1: But yeah, so just you know, I live with this
- 4:38Speaker 1: thing in my gut where any day there could be
- 4:40Speaker 1: a phone call saying like I'm like, thank you for
- 4:43Speaker 1: your service, you're no longer needed, or there could be
- 4:46Speaker 1: one saying, hey, we're going to pick up cameras in November, and.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Like they do that? Do they call and say you're
- 4:50Speaker 2: no longer needed, as opposed to just letting well. I
- 4:53Speaker 2: mean when I was demoted, I did get that phone call.
- 4:58Speaker 2: You were still on the show.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I mean yes, I was still on the show, and
- 5:02Speaker 1: it was a very nice phone call, filled with like
- 5:06Speaker 1: how valuable I still am to the show. But there
- 5:09Speaker 1: was a phone call, nonetheless, So I imagine that they
- 5:12Speaker 1: wouldn't just a longtime cast member. They wouldn't just like
- 5:16Speaker 1: invite everyone else back and like leave you guessing I'm
- 5:19Speaker 1: sure you would get a phone call.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yeah no, I'm who knows, who knows?
- 5:24Speaker 1: But anyway, today's guest knows everything, literally everything, and like
- 5:30Speaker 1: nothing is confirmed.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Of course he doesn't work for a Bravo, but he
- 5:34Speaker 2: he's like the housewife whisperer. Today's guest is he really is?
- 5:38Speaker 3: Right?
- 5:38Speaker 2: He's like he really is most magnetic kind which you
- 5:43Speaker 2: don't know the kind base Yeah? Yeah, I feel like
- 5:46Speaker 2: all all, if you're a housewife you know and love well,
- 5:48Speaker 2: then tell everyone who it is. It's Dave Quinn. Yay,
- 5:52Speaker 2: David and okay, so are you ready for him? But you, guys,
- 5:55Speaker 2: if you don't know who that is, which you probably
- 5:58Speaker 2: most of you do.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Uh.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Dave Quinn is with People magazine and I'm almost positive
- 6:04Speaker 2: if you're listening to us you read Diamonds and Rose.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Maybe not, but it's the international hit.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yes, it's New York Times bestseller. And and he's just
- 6:14Speaker 1: like omnipresent. Like every house I knows Dave Quinn so well,
- 6:19Speaker 1: and he's a great sounding board, always gives great advice
- 6:23Speaker 1: and we love him here at two Jersey Jys. So
- 6:26Speaker 1: let's welcome Dave Quinn, the one and only Dave, one
- 6:30Speaker 1: and only Quinn.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Oh, I'm so happy to be here with my two j's.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Have you and since the last time we had you
- 6:41Speaker 1: you have a new role at People, right, I do.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm the deputy news director here now.
- 6:47Speaker 2: So oh my god, Wow, my gosh.
- 6:51Speaker 4: It's one of those things where I keep turning around
- 6:53Speaker 4: and saying, shouldn't they have hired an adult to do this?
- 6:55Speaker 4: Oh wait, I'm an.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Adult, imposterson, I know.
- 6:59Speaker 1: But what what like a thing to name drop? Like,
- 7:02Speaker 1: oh yeah, happened to be the deputy news editor of
- 7:04Speaker 1: People magazine.
- 7:05Speaker 4: It's like crazy, it sounds pretty fancy. It really does.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Will It is fancy? So congratulations you guys. Are you
- 7:13Speaker 2: guys do quite a party?
- 7:14Speaker 4: Yes, we had. We had a party to launch our
- 7:17Speaker 4: new People app, which if you haven't downloaded, I highly recommend.
- 7:20Speaker 4: It's really fun. And we have actually a reality show
- 7:23Speaker 4: on the People app. Now we're so we're filming a
- 7:27Speaker 4: reality show called The Fourth Wall where it follows the
- 7:30Speaker 4: staff in the creation of each week's issue and it's
- 7:33Speaker 4: absolutely hilarious. I've been on it a few times and
- 7:36Speaker 4: I keep telling everyone, like, listen, if this is going
- 7:38Speaker 4: to get picked up for season two, we need more drama.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Like I keep reminding them, I'm like, someone needs to yell.
- 7:43Speaker 1: At someone send in one of those housewife producers. They'll
- 7:46Speaker 1: get it out of them.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, that's what we need. We need Luke or
- 7:50Speaker 4: someone coming and screaming at someone. But yeah, maybe I
- 7:52Speaker 4: need to have a Maybe I need to have a
- 7:54Speaker 4: housewife come for the fourth Wall episode. I need to
- 7:56Speaker 4: bring a housewife in for the fourth Wall up.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not currently filming any shows, so I'm
- 8:02Speaker 1: happy to do it.
- 8:03Speaker 4: So you can come in and cause trouble. You can, really,
- 8:05Speaker 4: you can really turn up the drama around the office
- 8:08Speaker 4: and start some fights.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Not Jen.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Jen's not the troublemaker. She doesn't like the trouble parts.
- 8:14Speaker 1: She likes the other person.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I was hoping that I was going to get another
- 8:17Speaker 2: season to take that opportunity to make some trouble. And
- 8:21Speaker 2: we don't know yet. We don't know, you know yet, Yes,
- 8:24Speaker 2: but it all mapped out well.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Speaking of Housewives, let's just start at the start. I mean,
- 8:33Speaker 1: there are just so many rumors and so many new shows,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and so so let's start with this. There is a
- 8:41Speaker 1: rumor going around that three people from Jersey are coming
- 8:45Speaker 1: back and three newbies are joining them. I have been
- 8:49Speaker 1: told that there's no truth to that rumor. Do you
- 8:52Speaker 1: know anything about that rumor?
- 8:54Speaker 4: I have been told there's no truth for that rumor
- 8:56Speaker 4: either told it's true. No, No, every single thing that
- 9:03Speaker 4: I have heard has been real consistent, which is just
- 9:06Speaker 4: that the network is not paying attention to it. They've
- 9:09Speaker 4: put it over in the corner and they're just sort
- 9:12Speaker 4: of ignoring it for a while and focusing on other things,
- 9:15Speaker 4: and they'll come back to sort of figure out what
- 9:17Speaker 4: it was. They're looking at casting, they're you know, pulling
- 9:20Speaker 4: people together, but they're sort of not paying attention to it,
- 9:24Speaker 4: is what I've been told.
- 9:25Speaker 2: That's what I heard too.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Can I just tell you something. The number of people
- 9:30Speaker 1: who come up to me and they're like, yeah, the
- 9:32Speaker 1: show called.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Me, but I didn't want to do it.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Like the number of people who think that you just
- 9:38Speaker 1: get a call on the next day you start filming
- 9:40Speaker 1: is for years.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yes, I just like I want to be like, no, no,
- 9:46Speaker 3: you don't understand, like you probably wouldn't get it anyway.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I can't say it. I had somebody say to me
- 9:52Speaker 2: once at a party like, oh Andy's like been asking
- 9:54Speaker 2: me to do it for years, Like just like I'm like, yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'm sure, Like you live three blocks for me, You're
- 10:01Speaker 2: not get out of here.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Well, yes, ideas famous. It happens to famous people too.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Janat Kramer very famously talked about how she had been
- 10:09Speaker 4: approached to do the Real House. So I's a Beverly
- 10:11Speaker 4: Hills and then I like was inter I was working
- 10:14Speaker 4: on the book at the time, So I asked the
- 10:15Speaker 4: casting director and she's like, oh, yeah, she was pitched
- 10:18Speaker 4: to us, but we never pushed her forward, like none
- 10:20Speaker 4: of it. Like so again, it's always like this weird
- 10:22Speaker 4: thing where just because you have the initial conversation doesn't
- 10:26Speaker 4: mean you're going to be on the show by any means.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Dave, I feel like there's been so many New Housewives
- 10:38Speaker 2: since you wrote your book that you need a part too.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Have they approached you about it? A man, because there's
- 10:45Speaker 2: at least like forty new people I.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Know, I think they want a little bit more time
- 10:49Speaker 4: still before a part two. You know, you sort of
- 10:52Speaker 4: separate exactly, not not to jump in on it as quickly,
- 10:57Speaker 4: but I will say there's plenty of story. There would
- 10:59Speaker 4: be a lot that we would have to get into,
- 11:01Speaker 4: and the network has to be ready to have those conversations, right,
- 11:04Speaker 4: because yeah, so much has gone down, even with all
- 11:07Speaker 4: the Ultimate Girls trips and the dramas there, Like, I
- 11:09Speaker 4: feel like there's so much they can't really talk about
- 11:12Speaker 4: right now that they're not really ready to get real
- 11:15Speaker 4: about yet. So I think some distance will be helpful
- 11:18Speaker 4: for them.
- 11:19Speaker 2: If I could get into Diamonds and Rose, I feel
- 11:20Speaker 2: like I would make I've made it, oh one day.
- 11:25Speaker 2: What do you think of.
- 11:26Speaker 1: The new shows. I think they're brilliant. I like the
- 11:29Speaker 1: new shows that they announced.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it's really smart. Listen. It makes perfect sense to
- 11:34Speaker 4: me in my brain, the way everything is organized. You know,
- 11:37Speaker 4: if you're looking at New Jersey, for example, there's a
- 11:41Speaker 4: lot of salaries on there that are really high. And
- 11:44Speaker 4: though the ratings are great for Jersey, I think the
- 11:47Speaker 4: problems within the cast and the conflict is a lot
- 11:49Speaker 4: for the network to deal with. In my perspective, I
- 11:52Speaker 4: think they sort of in their minds, say, if we
- 11:54Speaker 4: launch a brand new franchise and now we're dealing with
- 11:58Speaker 4: people who don't have those same salaries requirements, right, you're
- 12:01Speaker 4: getting paid probably each one of them well under one
- 12:04Speaker 4: hundred thousand dollars each. I'm sure they can make the
- 12:08Speaker 4: same sort of a show, you know, I've been seeing,
- 12:11Speaker 4: I've been hearing that Rhode Island has the same sort
- 12:13Speaker 4: of vibe about.
- 12:13Speaker 2: New Jersey, like grey Italian Italian young moms like Jackie,
- 12:20Speaker 2: and I think that I think that that's the mindset right.
- 12:23Speaker 4: It's like this franchise is shifting, the popularity is changing
- 12:27Speaker 4: in everybody's views towards housewives, so we could launch new
- 12:30Speaker 4: cities and probably save money in the long run. I'm
- 12:33Speaker 4: sure that's part of the co part of it.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I think I agree too. You think that also, though
- 12:38Speaker 2: they are This is just my theory that they put
- 12:42Speaker 2: us on pause definitely and start a Rhode Island and
- 12:46Speaker 2: it almost gives them so much more leverage to negotiate,
- 12:48Speaker 2: Like we ain't paying those salaries anymore. So you want
- 12:51Speaker 2: to be part of it, great, but you know we
- 12:54Speaker 2: can move on without you.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sure that's a big part of it as well.
- 12:58Speaker 4: I mean, it's all business in the end, and it
- 13:01Speaker 4: doesn't feel that way because you're sharing your personal lives
- 13:03Speaker 4: and feel so personal. But I think, and I've said
- 13:06Speaker 4: this time and time again, I think the conflict that
- 13:08Speaker 4: was happening with Teresa and the conflict that was happening
- 13:10Speaker 4: with Margaret was equally annoying to them. I don't think
- 13:13Speaker 4: that they were like siding with anybody. I think they
- 13:17Speaker 4: were just annoyed dealing with it all, and they didn't
- 13:19Speaker 4: want to deal with it anymore. They didn't want to
- 13:21Speaker 4: deal with the fighting, and that I won't film with
- 13:23Speaker 4: this person, and I won't be around this person, and
- 13:26Speaker 4: these people won't talk and they won't get along. It's
- 13:28Speaker 4: just too much.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it was too much for the rest of the
- 13:31Speaker 1: cast too. It was hard to be around.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and nobody can move forward if nobody wants to
- 13:38Speaker 4: move forward.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I think of all those new shows, I think I'm
- 13:41Speaker 1: really looking forward to the wife swap one. I think
- 13:44Speaker 1: the thought of and I don't know if the casting
- 13:46Speaker 1: rumors are true, but if they are, like the thought
- 13:49Speaker 1: of Emily Simpson living with Joe Gorga to me is
- 13:52Speaker 1: hysterical and I cannot wait to watch it.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but Jack, I don't think it works that way.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I don't think that's Oh, I thought the wives are
- 13:59Speaker 2: switching houses. I think that this is why I've heard.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I think it's like I'm right, Dave, it's like four
- 14:05Speaker 2: different episodes. So like in one of the episodes, Emily.
- 14:08Speaker 2: We'll switch with an unknown somewhere in let's say the Midwest.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Oh no, I wanted Emily to live with Joe Gorgah.
- 14:18Speaker 2: With Shane so bad. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm looking forward
- 14:25Speaker 2: to it.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I'm hearing it's it's regular people, and I think it's
- 14:29Speaker 4: a smart.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Idea regular just average shows. It's smart. I'm sure it
- 14:36Speaker 2: will will be very fun.
- 14:38Speaker 4: And I'm sure that Rhode Island won't be the last
- 14:40Speaker 4: New Housewives franchise on the web.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 14:44Speaker 1: So is the wife swap thing going to be like
- 14:46Speaker 1: a one and dinner? Is it these same five women
- 14:48Speaker 1: for like multiple seasons?
- 14:50Speaker 2: I don't think. I think it's four episodes.
- 14:52Speaker 1: And to be like rotating, right, so, like's got.
- 14:56Speaker 2: A chance at a new wife, right?
- 14:59Speaker 4: Yes? I think that you'll have one sort of pilot season,
- 15:03Speaker 4: if you will, of four or five episodes, however many
- 15:05Speaker 4: it is, and then I think they'll continue to renew
- 15:08Speaker 4: it if it does well with different housewives.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Oh cool, Oh that's really.
- 15:11Speaker 4: It sound like it will always be the same people.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I do like how there it seems like there's so
- 15:16Speaker 2: many shows now, like you can springboard off Housewives and
- 15:21Speaker 2: insert yourself in something like this, which I think is
- 15:23Speaker 2: a nice break and sort of nice, you know, even
- 15:27Speaker 2: especially for shows that get canceled, like it's sort of
- 15:30Speaker 2: like a nice consolation prize.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah, And I mean I've been watching and paying attention
- 15:34Speaker 4: to what's happening with these franchises for a while now.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Obviously I watch it very closely, and I just don't
- 15:40Speaker 4: really know how much future there is in some of
- 15:43Speaker 4: the same sort of conversations.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, So let's talk about that, because we have
- 15:49Speaker 1: more questions than just like existing shows, more like deep
- 15:52Speaker 1: dives into what makes the franchise great and how long
- 15:56Speaker 1: that can can keep going. So just in general, how
- 16:00Speaker 1: how long can these shows go with this formula?
- 16:04Speaker 4: I think they've gone much longer than anybody who's making
- 16:07Speaker 4: them actually imagined them to go. I think most of
- 16:11Speaker 4: the people who've been working on these shows for a
- 16:12Speaker 4: while have been wondering when is the end coming? And
- 16:16Speaker 4: I'm not really sure. I know that there's constant pressure
- 16:20Speaker 4: when you're filming these shows to have story, and that
- 16:24Speaker 4: story forces I think people to put a lot of
- 16:28Speaker 4: conflicts forward and put a lot of things forward in
- 16:31Speaker 4: their lives that aren't normally what they're going through. That's
- 16:35Speaker 4: why you see so many like marriage renewals and things
- 16:39Speaker 4: like that, right just because there's like a need for
- 16:41Speaker 4: story and unfortunately a.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Fan of the marriage renewal. I don't think O marriages
- 16:47Speaker 2: aren't a fan of the marriage renewal either, by the way.
- 16:51Speaker 4: And I think what happens is that you have a
- 16:53Speaker 4: lot of these people who hear a small little roomor
- 16:56Speaker 4: online and feel like, Okay, that's an opportunity for story.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Now we're going to bring it out, and now we're
- 17:00Speaker 4: going to fight about it, and it becomes really damaging
- 17:04Speaker 4: to the participants who are doing the show right because
- 17:07Speaker 4: now people are spreading rumors about husbands and businesses and
- 17:12Speaker 4: it just becomes so hard to get through. And I
- 17:17Speaker 4: don't know, I mean, I don't think that the network
- 17:20Speaker 4: necessarily is trying to stop that from happening. I think
- 17:24Speaker 4: that they recognize that there needs to be a hook
- 17:26Speaker 4: for people to watch and there needs to be drama.
- 17:30Speaker 4: But if you look at a show like Atlanta this season,
- 17:32Speaker 4: which has had a lot of drama, the ratings really
- 17:34Speaker 4: aren't there because the fans just seem to be sort
- 17:37Speaker 4: of fickle. They sort of they want all these things
- 17:41Speaker 4: that they're never going to get and they'ren't happy all
- 17:44Speaker 4: the time. If Nini came back to Atlanta tomorrow, they
- 17:47Speaker 4: would be so happy, But then they would watch and
- 17:49Speaker 4: complain how boring it is, right, you know, it's like
- 17:51Speaker 4: it just is.
- 17:53Speaker 2: It's what does the end look like? It doesn't look
- 17:55Speaker 2: like all the show is just going off the air,
- 17:58Speaker 2: does it.
- 17:59Speaker 4: I think it looks one by one those shows sort
- 18:01Speaker 4: of going into retirement and putting me over there in
- 18:07Speaker 4: the pause world.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Sorry to interpret, I've got ato Like what so if
- 18:11Speaker 2: it wasn't like this back in the day, and I'm
- 18:13Speaker 2: thinking of the classics, right, I'm thinking of Ronie and
- 18:16Speaker 2: I'm thinking about Jersey. So it wasn't all like they
- 18:21Speaker 2: weren't basing it around rumor mills, and like, how did
- 18:25Speaker 2: it work? Was it because it was novel and new
- 18:28Speaker 2: that everyone was so into it, or was it that
- 18:32Speaker 2: there was just such a different dynamic They really had
- 18:34Speaker 2: friend groups people that were actually you think that's it?
- 18:37Speaker 4: Yeah, And I think that's the big thing. Right when
- 18:40Speaker 4: all of these shows started, they were based around core
- 18:42Speaker 4: groups of friends where there was a dynamic there that
- 18:45Speaker 4: was interesting in some capacity as the years went on,
- 18:48Speaker 4: of course, to expand and to grow and to change
- 18:51Speaker 4: and evolve the show. They added people into a point
- 18:53Speaker 4: where a lot of these shows feel like they're not
- 18:56Speaker 4: really friends, they're sort of cast to be friends. Is
- 19:00Speaker 4: a perfect example. You know, when the show got recast,
- 19:05Speaker 4: it was after, you know, in the midst of the
- 19:07Speaker 4: Black Lives Matter movement, a lot of conflicts going on
- 19:10Speaker 4: behind the scenes, audiences feeling like it didn't represent the
- 19:13Speaker 4: real New York. So they went out and found what
- 19:15Speaker 4: they considered to be right the real New York. And
- 19:18Speaker 4: they cast a bunch of women who some who knew
- 19:20Speaker 4: each other, some who were acquaintances, and put them all
- 19:23Speaker 4: together and said, look at this beautiful, ethnically diverse group
- 19:27Speaker 4: of women that represent New York. Here you go, camera's up. Well,
- 19:31Speaker 4: all those women came into the show knowing exactly what
- 19:34Speaker 4: the show is, knowing what it could do for their
- 19:35Speaker 4: businesses and their brands, and whether they admitted or not,
- 19:38Speaker 4: they were all producing themselves. They were all pretending to
- 19:41Speaker 4: be something they weren't. They were all holding back things.
- 19:44Speaker 4: You have somebody like Jenna Lyon saying I'm not going
- 19:46Speaker 4: to talk about my relationship, I'm not going to show
- 19:48Speaker 4: my kid anymore. I'm not going to you know, she
- 19:50Speaker 4: had a yard sale or a tag sale, and she
- 19:53Speaker 4: wouldn't even tell them how much she made at the sale.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Right It's all this like I'm putting down boundaries. And
- 19:58Speaker 4: while I respect boundaries, it becomes really challenging when you're
- 20:02Speaker 4: watching a show where everyone has boundaries and you sort
- 20:04Speaker 4: of can tell that nothing is real, that it's all
- 20:07Speaker 4: sort of phony nonsense, and the fights that you're really
- 20:12Speaker 4: seeing are more about the show than about the people themselves.
- 20:15Speaker 4: It's more about, like, I'm mad at you for painting
- 20:18Speaker 4: me as the villain because the audience is going to
- 20:20Speaker 4: hate me and it's going to affect my business. Right Like,
- 20:21Speaker 4: that's sort of the way everyone is thinking. I think
- 20:23Speaker 4: it's much easier for the network to say, Okay, New York,
- 20:26Speaker 4: you go over there. We don't have to deal with
- 20:28Speaker 4: you for now. We'll try and find a real cast
- 20:30Speaker 4: down the line. But let's look at Rhode Island. Look
- 20:31Speaker 4: at these real women who are all really good friends
- 20:34Speaker 4: and they've known each other forever, and this will be
- 20:36Speaker 4: a good show. Right Like that sort of makes sense
- 20:39Speaker 4: to me.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Oh, why I'm interrupting so much. Excuse me, you guys,
- 20:42Speaker 2: I don't mean to, but my question is, do you
- 20:45Speaker 2: think also because like I remember when Rony started, when
- 20:49Speaker 2: Jersey started, the women were so they weren't typical, like
- 20:53Speaker 2: they were nuts. Like I don't have a Primona singer
- 20:57Speaker 2: in my life, do you know what I mean? I
- 20:58Speaker 2: didn't have anyone from Jersey that could that. I didn't
- 21:02Speaker 2: interact with people the way that they did. And I
- 21:05Speaker 2: know they were authentic friends, but also they were so quirky.
- 21:09Speaker 2: You know, maybe that's hard to find because like now
- 21:12Speaker 2: it's you're right, it's people that are that have it together,
- 21:15Speaker 2: that are producing themselves as opposed to these women that
- 21:18Speaker 2: were floundering around who knew what was going to happen next.
- 21:22Speaker 2: But I remember just watching specifically Ramona, who I just loved,
- 21:25Speaker 2: and thinking who what, Like, where are you coming from?
- 21:31Speaker 1: Young woman literally shit her pants on television and didn't care.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Yeah, her personality was so eccentric, and I remember thinking
- 21:40Speaker 2: it was so fascinating and like, I don't find that,
- 21:44Speaker 2: you know as much.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Even tensely crying at the circus, Like god, if I
- 21:47Speaker 1: reach back in the archives, it was just brilliant, like
- 21:51Speaker 1: everything was just brilliant, but there was deep.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Intense like fighting back in the day.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I mean when you when I people like to say like, oh,
- 22:00Speaker 1: wasn't dark back then, but like I don't know Kyle
- 22:04Speaker 1: and the whole like blaming her sister for stealing her
- 22:06Speaker 1: house and being an.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Alcohol like that was dark. I mean Taylor's husband committed suicide.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I mean, like there was dark, it just wasn't manufactured dark.
- 22:15Speaker 2: It was so authentic, And I think that's the difference.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Right, It wasn't I heard a rumor that your husband
- 22:20Speaker 4: is cheating nonsense.
- 22:22Speaker 2: It wasn't that kind of dark.
- 22:23Speaker 1: It was like I've reached the end with like pretending
- 22:26Speaker 1: this doesn't exist and like outing things on the show.
- 22:29Speaker 1: But they were real things, you know, which is why
- 22:32Speaker 1: that's what the difference is.
- 22:33Speaker 4: And the show is always the most interesting when there
- 22:35Speaker 4: are those moments when Kyle and Lisa vander Pump are
- 22:38Speaker 4: falling out and you know that that was a real
- 22:40Speaker 4: friendship and the reason they're falling out is kind of
- 22:42Speaker 4: because of the show and they can't really talk about it,
- 22:45Speaker 4: but they're trying to talk about it, Like that's when
- 22:47Speaker 4: it's most interesting. But I agree with you, Jen, like
- 22:50Speaker 4: it's hard to find a Ramona singer, and Jersey's a
- 22:54Speaker 4: perfect example taking YouTube out of the equation because I
- 22:56Speaker 4: don't want to talk about you both here, but like,
- 22:59Speaker 4: I think we've heard it all. No, but I think
- 23:01Speaker 4: like Margaret's a good example of someone who's like kind
- 23:03Speaker 4: of a character, right, You're like, okay, you're a bit
- 23:05Speaker 4: of a character. And then you have someone like Ambermorksey
- 23:08Speaker 4: who joined pretending to be a character and like faked
- 23:12Speaker 4: it the whole time and it never really worked right.
- 23:14Speaker 4: So it's like you have to be somebody who is
- 23:16Speaker 4: just one hundred percent authentically yourself, which is very difficult
- 23:21Speaker 4: to do. We are all aware now of what people
- 23:25Speaker 4: perceive us to be. We have social media platforms that
- 23:28Speaker 4: are curated and we're paying attention to comments and likes,
- 23:32Speaker 4: and I think it's really difficult to go on television
- 23:34Speaker 4: and be one hundred percent yourself without being worried about
- 23:38Speaker 4: what people say.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I agree. So what do you.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Think in terms of housewives? Do you think that because
- 23:52Speaker 1: there's a lot of controversy over how old should a
- 23:55Speaker 1: housewife be, So like on Jersey, we had some that
- 23:57Speaker 1: were very very young, we had some that were older
- 24:01Speaker 1: do you think it should be somebody with a lot
- 24:02Speaker 1: of life experience and somebody wealthy that we can watch
- 24:06Speaker 1: and they want to emulate, or someone crazy, or should
- 24:09Speaker 1: it be younger women that we could watch their families
- 24:12Speaker 1: grow and watch their kids grow up on camera?
- 24:15Speaker 2: Like, what do you think is better?
- 24:17Speaker 4: I think a good mix is the best way to
- 24:18Speaker 4: go about it. You know, again we come back to
- 24:21Speaker 4: early seasons of New York. You want the Jills Aaron
- 24:24Speaker 4: and the Bethany Frankel. You want the person who is
- 24:26Speaker 4: a little bit more established in society and also somebody
- 24:30Speaker 4: who may be an up and comer, and to see
- 24:32Speaker 4: how they all interact with one another. I think it's
- 24:34Speaker 4: good to have a good mix, because there is. It's
- 24:38Speaker 4: the lesson of Housewives for me has always been women
- 24:41Speaker 4: have value in society in times that entertainment often sort
- 24:46Speaker 4: of overlooked them and threw them away, Right, So I
- 24:49Speaker 4: definitely think that of a certain age air quote like,
- 24:52Speaker 4: you know, an older female has a lot of incredible
- 24:57Speaker 4: story to tell and deserves that platform.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I talked to somebody actually picked up
- 25:02Speaker 2: something that I said on a podcast recently, and I
- 25:05Speaker 2: was saying something to the effect of like I don't
- 25:07Speaker 2: care about you know, your babies and your carpool. And
- 25:12Speaker 2: then someone picked it up and said that I was
- 25:14Speaker 2: trying to dis Rachel Fuda or I was dissing young
- 25:18Speaker 2: I'm like, no, it's not that at all. I wasn't thinking.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I am literally saying I personally what I'm interested in
- 25:26Speaker 2: is more aligned with someone who is older. It's like,
- 25:30Speaker 2: I'm more interested in watching women. I don't really want
- 25:33Speaker 2: to hear women discuss menopause necessarily, but you guys know
- 25:36Speaker 2: what I'm saying, Like I want to hear about vaginal
- 25:39Speaker 2: dryness as opposed to like like in a funny, colorful
- 25:43Speaker 2: way for me. But that doesn't mean that I do.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I did bond weirdly enough with Rachel Fuda the first
- 25:50Speaker 2: season in a way that was totally organic, and I
- 25:55Speaker 2: think people thought it was really interesting, you know, But
- 25:58Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, I I personally like, I
- 26:01Speaker 2: think that I like watching women at a certain age
- 26:02Speaker 2: a little bit better.
- 26:04Speaker 4: I do too. What I'm fascinated by is the idea
- 26:07Speaker 4: of society painting you to be one thing. Right. You're
- 26:11Speaker 4: a mom, and you spend your life being a mom
- 26:14Speaker 4: and raising a child and that child eventually goes away,
- 26:17Speaker 4: and then what is your identity beyond that? And I
- 26:20Speaker 4: think it's fascinating to what women like Ninny, women like
- 26:23Speaker 4: Jill Zaren, women who X Y and Z have like
- 26:25Speaker 4: in the past, have stepped into their power through this
- 26:28Speaker 4: platform and created a whole second life for themselves. That's
- 26:32Speaker 4: really fascinating to me.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I agree. What about wealth?
- 26:35Speaker 1: You know, a lot of people say the Housewives should
- 26:37Speaker 1: be wealthy. I know you said that people who are
- 26:40Speaker 1: established versus up and comers, But wealth wise, does it
- 26:45Speaker 1: change the Housewives brand when you have people who you
- 26:50Speaker 1: know live in a peeny, tiny little house and are
- 26:54Speaker 1: obviously have no money.
- 26:57Speaker 4: I think that ultimately Housewives works when there's wealth involved
- 27:01Speaker 4: because it's it comes back to the concept of the show,
- 27:04Speaker 4: which originally was behind the gates, right. It was to
- 27:07Speaker 4: look into sort of this universe of rich people where
- 27:12Speaker 4: you didn't normally get to see. And I think that
- 27:15Speaker 4: people like the aspirational quality towards Housewives.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Don't you think they also like watching wealthy women like
- 27:24Speaker 2: go down like I don't know, like you, of course,
- 27:28Speaker 2: there's always a certain amount of I had it right,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I'm watching Lisa vander Pomp. Although I loved her, I
- 27:33Speaker 2: never wanted anything to happen to her. But like when
- 27:35Speaker 2: you're watching I don't know some of the really wealthy
- 27:38Speaker 2: women and it's not so perfect as it looks well watching.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Det now and now there's all these rumors about Derret's money,
- 27:46Speaker 1: right right, de dresses head to toe and like ten
- 27:49Speaker 1: thousand dollars outfits every day. But now, you know, I
- 27:54Speaker 1: do think that some people are enjoying that potential the downfall.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I really like her.
- 28:01Speaker 4: I like her too, but listen, like watching the downfall
- 28:04Speaker 4: of somebody on television, it's a tried and true formula, right,
- 28:08Speaker 4: and it's always going to be the way the network
- 28:11Speaker 4: sees it. I'm sure, by the way, I don't work
- 28:13Speaker 4: for the network. I'm not a network spokesperson, but I'm
- 28:16Speaker 4: sure the way they all look at this is like
- 28:18Speaker 4: this is great story.
- 28:19Speaker 2: You know, it's I mean, it's like wow, just watch
- 28:22Speaker 2: the Valley Wow.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Or like look at someone like Erica, like we've sort
- 28:27Speaker 4: of watched this journey. If they would have left Erica
- 28:29Speaker 4: when she lost her money and they were like you're
- 28:31Speaker 4: not valuable anymore, we wouldn't have gotten to see sort
- 28:34Speaker 4: of the way that she stood up after the lowest
- 28:38Speaker 4: moment in her life. And that's fascinating, that's inspirational, that's
- 28:41Speaker 4: a reminder of really.
- 28:42Speaker 1: All of us.
- 28:43Speaker 4: You know. The thing that housewives hear the most. I'm
- 28:45Speaker 4: sure that you can both attest. It's not people aren't
- 28:49Speaker 4: like they don't remember they oh, you cursed this person
- 28:52Speaker 4: out or you said that really funny thing. It's like
- 28:54Speaker 4: the story that you shared. I mean, how many people
- 28:56Speaker 4: Jackie come up to you and talk to you.
- 28:58Speaker 2: About Oh, yeah, I think that's my legacy. I was
- 29:00Speaker 2: afraid my legacy.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Would be finale at rails, but it's not. Turns out
- 29:05Speaker 3: people much more often want to talk about the eating
- 29:08Speaker 3: disorder stuff, which makes me really proud.
- 29:10Speaker 4: You know, it's that is what hooks people to these people.
- 29:15Speaker 1: How about this idea of term limits on a housewife
- 29:20Speaker 1: so that which I think is actually brilliant. So you
- 29:23Speaker 1: don't get to this point where you have to invent
- 29:26Speaker 1: a storyline to stay relevant, or you don't have to
- 29:28Speaker 1: go over and above and be like the nasty one
- 29:31Speaker 1: to stay in the story. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 29:33Speaker 1: if you knew that you had six seasons at a
- 29:36Speaker 1: Max and then you were gone. You wouldn't need to,
- 29:39Speaker 1: you know, keep clawing for something to keep you.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I don't think I disagree. I think that would not
- 29:44Speaker 2: work at all. I think that, first of all, the
- 29:48Speaker 2: clawing is part of I hate to say it, but
- 29:51Speaker 2: as part of the fun I think for the audience.
- 29:55Speaker 2: But I don't know, I feel like you could even
- 30:00Speaker 2: kind of give up at the end. But I always
- 30:02Speaker 2: do say this, like, you got to follow the money.
- 30:04Speaker 2: If the ratings are coming in and you're bringing in
- 30:07Speaker 2: a certain amount of money, everyone is to pay their
- 30:09Speaker 2: mortgage the exact sit Bravo too, So why give limits
- 30:14Speaker 2: if the person is a money maker? Right? I mean
- 30:19Speaker 2: I always think sort of follow the money.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I see that too. Ultimately, I'm one of two
- 30:26Speaker 4: ways about it. I can totally see how certain people
- 30:30Speaker 4: feel the need to stay relevant and therefore are clamoring
- 30:33Speaker 4: and inventing things and trying to sort of center themselves
- 30:37Speaker 4: in the drama. But I do feel like they would
- 30:39Speaker 4: be that way even if they weren't on television. You know.
- 30:42Speaker 4: I always use Karen Huger as example, Like, Karen Huger
- 30:45Speaker 4: is somebody who if you speak to her, she's pretty
- 30:48Speaker 4: cagey about her real life, and you could tell that
- 30:51Speaker 4: she's sort of putting on a persona. But that's who
- 30:54Speaker 4: she is if she wasn't on TV, you know, like
- 30:56Speaker 4: that would be who she was if you met her
- 30:58Speaker 4: at a party. So I think that's the personality of
- 31:01Speaker 4: somebody who is trying to center themselves in conversation and
- 31:04Speaker 4: drama exists even if the cameras aren't there, they would
- 31:07Speaker 4: still be doing that within their friend's circle. I believe
- 31:11Speaker 4: I'm very Nostalgia's a very powerful emotion, and I'm very nostalgic.
- 31:15Speaker 4: So I find myself missing a lot of former housewives
- 31:20Speaker 4: and wanting to see them on TV and just really
- 31:22Speaker 4: feeling nostalgic about the time that I spent with them.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Me too.
- 31:26Speaker 4: But at the same time, Yeah, but the fans don
- 31:28Speaker 4: aren't like that. I mean, I always use Chara as
- 31:30Speaker 4: an example. They fired Charai three times, Like the fans
- 31:34Speaker 4: beg for her to come back, and then when she's there,
- 31:36Speaker 4: they're like, get rid of her. She's boring, you know.
- 31:38Speaker 4: So it's like, it's so frustrating the way the fan
- 31:42Speaker 4: base works, because I think that they don't recognize what
- 31:45Speaker 4: they want. They just seem to be you.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Know, they'll ever brings back.
- 31:51Speaker 4: I do not, and I think it's a mistake. Like
- 31:57Speaker 4: I just feel like that show would be so much
- 31:59Speaker 4: more interesting if Derinda and Luanne and maybe even Sonya
- 32:04Speaker 4: were in the mix. Like, I just think it would
- 32:05Speaker 4: be so much more interesting to see that mixture of personality.
- 32:10Speaker 4: But the network made a choice and they they said
- 32:15Speaker 4: let's try and swing big, and I don't think it
- 32:17Speaker 4: really worked as they wanted it to. So I think
- 32:20Speaker 4: they're trying to figure out what to do next.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah, with that, So there's lots of rumors about the
- 32:26Speaker 1: New New York. Do you think they're done or do
- 32:29Speaker 1: you think that they'll bring that one back? I mean
- 32:33Speaker 1: Jersey aside. Are they just slowly letting older shows go
- 32:39Speaker 1: to bed?
- 32:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean the network never really says they cancel anything,
- 32:43Speaker 4: you know, And I don't think Real Housewives the Dallas
- 32:46Speaker 4: was canceled. I don't think Dubai has been canceled, right
- 32:49Speaker 4: they're just not renewed or they're not in the cycle
- 32:51Speaker 4: right now. I think they've made it very clear once
- 32:56Speaker 4: that page six story came out, which by the way,
- 32:58Speaker 4: never said the show was canceled. The fans interpreted it
- 33:01Speaker 4: that way all the show. All it said was that,
- 33:04Speaker 4: you know, the show wasn't really being filmed right now,
- 33:06Speaker 4: which it's not being filmed right now, and it wasn't
- 33:10Speaker 4: announced as Upfronts is being renewed. So you know, we're
- 33:14Speaker 4: still in this mix of what are they going to
- 33:16Speaker 4: do with New York. They've said they're looking into other women.
- 33:19Speaker 4: There's every day I see another report that you know,
- 33:23Speaker 4: they're casting new people, but I'm not necessarily sure they're
- 33:27Speaker 4: doing anything with it. I think they've put it right
- 33:29Speaker 4: next to Jersey and they've said, we'll come back to you.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Let's focus on these new ones.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Brandy Glanville gave an interview and she says a lot
- 33:37Speaker 1: of stuff, but she called the Real Housewives.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Life ruining TV. Do you think that that's true?
- 33:46Speaker 4: First of all, I love Brandy Glanville so much, and
- 33:49Speaker 4: you are you close? We're not close, but but I
- 33:53Speaker 4: love her.
- 33:53Speaker 2: I love that you love her.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I love Messy because you love Messy right like I
- 33:59Speaker 2: love that.
- 34:00Speaker 4: I feel as though I feel protective over all of y'all,
- 34:04Speaker 4: you know what I mean, because I think that it's
- 34:07Speaker 4: difficult to navigate this situation. I think the network is
- 34:11Speaker 4: a business. At the end of the day, Bravo is
- 34:13Speaker 4: a business, and they can't care about everybody and treat
- 34:16Speaker 4: everybody as a priority. The business is the priority. In
- 34:20Speaker 4: the same way that if I became a problem for
- 34:22Speaker 4: People Magazine, I would assume People Magazine would move on, right.
- 34:25Speaker 4: It just is sort of the way it works. And
- 34:29Speaker 4: she became somebody who didn't fit in with their business
- 34:32Speaker 4: model anymore, and that's sort of the way. But I
- 34:35Speaker 4: don't think it was because she did anything that she
- 34:37Speaker 4: didn't think was the right thing to do and challenging.
- 34:41Speaker 4: When you look at the whole situation from behind, is
- 34:43Speaker 4: it life ruining, And certainly in her experience it seems
- 34:48Speaker 4: to have been. But I also think it's life ruining
- 34:50Speaker 4: if you let it be life ruining, If you put
- 34:53Speaker 4: all of your thoughts and hopes and futures and prayers
- 34:57Speaker 4: into this vehicle, I think it becomes really challenging for sure.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember, Dave, you and I don't know if
- 35:05Speaker 2: you'll remember, we had a very long talk one night.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I mean it must have been maybe it was two
- 35:11Speaker 2: years ago, and like I remember, just like I feel
- 35:15Speaker 2: like everyone should have to sit down with Dave Quinn
- 35:17Speaker 2: before they sign up. No, and it's not because because
- 35:20Speaker 2: it's just your very insightful and even like the things
- 35:24Speaker 2: that you're saying now, they really resonate with me, like
- 35:27Speaker 2: if you allow it to be life ruining, and I
- 35:29Speaker 2: think that that's so important and for myself, even over
- 35:34Speaker 2: something that's happening or that I read about or that
- 35:36Speaker 2: I hear this one is doing this, And then I
- 35:38Speaker 2: always have to go like I always step back or
- 35:41Speaker 2: I call one of my friends will say to me,
- 35:43Speaker 2: you're a loser, like you got to like you need
- 35:47Speaker 2: to relax, Like I got a whole life before I
- 35:50Speaker 2: got on the show, and I got a whole life
- 35:53Speaker 2: after this show. And it's like I found myself getting
- 35:58Speaker 2: pulled into that. I know, Jack, you have to and
- 36:00Speaker 2: then all of a sudden, you go, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 36:02Speaker 2: I was happy before, I'm gonna be happy after. It's
- 36:06Speaker 2: not like this is not my whole life. But it
- 36:09Speaker 2: sucks you in good.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Of course it does. If everybody in the world was
- 36:13Speaker 4: telling me what I whether I'm valuable or not right,
- 36:17Speaker 4: and that like I would feel I would have a
- 36:20Speaker 4: really hard time seeing my own self worth because I
- 36:22Speaker 4: would be judging it all through their eyes. That's why
- 36:24Speaker 4: I think it's really difficult to do this job. It's
- 36:26Speaker 4: why I have such respect and kindness for everybody who
- 36:29Speaker 4: does it, because at the end of the day, I'm
- 36:31Speaker 4: not judging you. I don't care. I'm judging myself.
- 36:41Speaker 1: So we know that on screen, like craziness, drama is ratings.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Do you think that there is some social responsibility when
- 36:50Speaker 1: somebody has a substance abuse problem to stop filming with them?
- 36:54Speaker 1: So take Karen Huger, who I actually really love personally,
- 36:59Speaker 1: you too, or like Jax Taylor who was in rehabit
- 37:03Speaker 1: and missed half the season. Is there is there a
- 37:06Speaker 1: social responsibility or is it just hey, like if they're
- 37:10Speaker 1: only harming themselves, like, let's keep rolling.
- 37:13Speaker 4: I mean, this is the eternal moral question, right At
- 37:16Speaker 4: what point does it stop being entertainment and start being
- 37:20Speaker 4: you know, taking advantage of somebody. I think it's really difficult.
- 37:24Speaker 4: I'm twelve years sober, I'm active in my sobriety and
- 37:28Speaker 4: in my recovery. If I was in the height of
- 37:31Speaker 4: using and that was being filmed, I don't know. I mean,
- 37:36Speaker 4: there's a benefit to that Carl Raki always says, I
- 37:39Speaker 4: don't think I would have gotten sober had it been
- 37:41Speaker 4: for the show, because it showed me what was happening,
- 37:45Speaker 4: and the people on that I worked with were like,
- 37:47Speaker 4: you have a problem, you need to get help for it.
- 37:49Speaker 4: This may be the most important thing in Jack Taylor's
- 37:52Speaker 4: life that he was able to do this on camera.
- 37:55Speaker 2: It's interesting.
- 37:56Speaker 4: At the same time, it's you know, it can feel like, wow,
- 38:00Speaker 4: we're really taking advantage of somebody, especially with meal health issue,
- 38:03Speaker 4: and when that sort of comes into play at their
- 38:07Speaker 4: hardest point. And I think Liam McSweeney's whole argument right
- 38:10Speaker 4: now that she's dealing with in the courts is like, listen,
- 38:13Speaker 4: I was an addict and I was in the midst
- 38:16Speaker 4: of a relapse and nobody cared for me, and in fact,
- 38:20Speaker 4: they took advantage of that by making sure that alcohol
- 38:22Speaker 4: was readily available and not giving me the time that
- 38:25Speaker 4: I needed to take care of myself.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Agree with you? Do you agree with her? With her?
- 38:29Speaker 2: I'm talking particularly Leah. Do you agree with her stance?
- 38:33Speaker 4: I don't disagree with it. That's the thing. I don't
- 38:36Speaker 4: agree or disagree. I understand what she's saying, and I
- 38:39Speaker 4: totally recognize that if I were in her shoes, I
- 38:42Speaker 4: would feel the exact same way about it. But it's
- 38:44Speaker 4: not my place to say whether that's right or wrong.
- 38:46Speaker 2: I don't Well, it's not mine either, but.
- 38:48Speaker 1: I think I know, well, it's a lot more complicated
- 38:53Speaker 1: than just one issue. So if you listen to the
- 38:55Speaker 1: Bravo Docket, which I love, do you listen to that?
- 38:59Speaker 1: They go through the entire case, and like, there are
- 39:02Speaker 1: some things I agree with and some that I don't like.
- 39:04Speaker 1: You went on a show that she knows requires like
- 39:06Speaker 1: craziness and drama and said, hey, I'm going to be
- 39:09Speaker 1: sober and not do any of that stuff. And at
- 39:11Speaker 1: what point does the show owe it to her to
- 39:16Speaker 1: you know? Like there's a lot of.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Big questions within it. I was just gonna say, like
- 39:23Speaker 2: within any industry, I mean, you can find lots of
- 39:27Speaker 2: alcohol and people pressuring you to come and drink with them,
- 39:31Speaker 2: and I don't know, I just I I understand that
- 39:36Speaker 2: it must have been hard for her. I'm not taking
- 39:38Speaker 2: that away, but I don't know that it was anyone
- 39:40Speaker 2: else's fault, right, Yeah, And I agree with that.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, listen, I can't imagine that the intention
- 39:46Speaker 4: of any of these people. It's always so easy to
- 39:48Speaker 4: view production or the network or even other housewives just
- 39:52Speaker 4: like evil beings stirring a cauldron behind the scenes, being
- 39:55Speaker 4: like moha ruin their lives. Like, I just don't think
- 39:58Speaker 4: that's the way it works. That being said, I'm sure
- 40:01Speaker 4: the producer felt a certain amount of pressure to create
- 40:05Speaker 4: some sort of storyline because I'm sure somebody was saying,
- 40:08Speaker 4: you know, nothing's happening this season, and we need to
- 40:10Speaker 4: dot that out right. So it's like there's pressure coming
- 40:13Speaker 4: from all over the place. It's a hard environment to
- 40:16Speaker 4: be in. But they also cast Leah in that knowing
- 40:19Speaker 4: fully well that's what she was going through. So now
- 40:22Speaker 4: you're an employer who essentially is taking not taking care
- 40:27Speaker 4: of your employee. That's also confusing, right, So there's there's
- 40:30Speaker 4: so many layers to it. I wish it was black
- 40:31Speaker 4: and whit would be so much easier to understand.
- 40:33Speaker 2: All right, So, Dave, so what's the next show to
- 40:35Speaker 2: fall look in your magic ball?
- 40:37Speaker 4: Oh gosh, my gosh, I don't know.
- 40:40Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 40:41Speaker 1: I think that Yeah, New York, New Jersey on pause.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Dubai basically probably finished. Dallas is never coming back. But
- 40:50Speaker 1: I loved Dallas.
- 40:51Speaker 4: I love Dallas.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I really did too, and I thought their last season
- 40:54Speaker 2: was actually really great. So I don't know.
- 40:57Speaker 1: It's confusing to me how they make these decisions. But
- 40:59Speaker 1: we'll see how Rhode Island goes. So, Salt Lake City
- 41:01Speaker 1: is doing great. Really, he'll still doing great. Ocean County
- 41:05Speaker 1: still doing great. Orange I mean, sorry, Orange County.
- 41:10Speaker 4: I think Orange County will be the next to fall,
- 41:12Speaker 4: that's my instinct. I think I think it will be
- 41:16Speaker 4: a decision at twenty. I think they're at nineteen now.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Next season will be twenty, and I think they'll sort
- 41:21Speaker 4: of that's a good like we've done twenty years on
- 41:24Speaker 4: this show. Next, that's what I know.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Is it going to be like the decluttering principle where
- 41:30Speaker 1: one thing goes out and another thing comes in.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Yes, I think.
- 41:33Speaker 4: That there will be more cities to come. And the
- 41:37Speaker 4: network has built its entire likely livelihood rather on these shows,
- 41:42Speaker 4: so I can't imagine that they'll be walking away from
- 41:44Speaker 4: them anytime soon.
- 41:45Speaker 2: It's so interesting because I was saying that I am
- 41:49Speaker 2: so like you were talking about nostalgia. I too feel
- 41:51Speaker 2: so nostalgic, specifically about some of the ogs, and so
- 41:55Speaker 2: when they are no longer on my show, it's setting
- 42:00Speaker 2: to me. But the truth is, now, if I'm thinking
- 42:02Speaker 2: about it, like, there are a lot of ogs that
- 42:05Speaker 2: are still around, and after a while, I think maybe
- 42:08Speaker 2: they get boring. It's theirs, because I mean, who wouldn't.
- 42:11Speaker 2: It's not their fault, but they're offering up the same thing.
- 42:14Speaker 2: I think it's only it's only Teresa and Kyle are ogs, right, No,
- 42:18Speaker 2: they're I mean the whole cast of Salt Lake.
- 42:20Speaker 4: But that's not right when you're talking about the long
- 42:24Speaker 4: standing shows left. No, I think those are the only
- 42:26Speaker 4: two first season housewives who have.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Written about.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Vicky.
- 42:36Speaker 2: I know, but like which whatever, Like you could feel
- 42:39Speaker 2: nostalgic for Vicky, but also it was kind of the
- 42:41Speaker 2: same stick.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, things kind of get all But but.
- 42:47Speaker 4: I'm more interested in the world outside of Housewives. I'm
- 42:50Speaker 4: always curious as sort of the way Bravo grows there
- 42:55Speaker 4: programming Slate. I think that Summer House has become sort
- 42:58Speaker 4: of a juggernaut for them now. It's like it's delivered
- 43:00Speaker 4: really good ratings and people are very invested in that
- 43:03Speaker 4: those characters, and they've been going for much longer than
- 43:05Speaker 4: I think anyone anticipated at first, and Southern Charm has
- 43:09Speaker 4: sort of continued to reinvent itself, although I don't think
- 43:12Speaker 4: it's always been successful at that. And I'm sort of curious, like,
- 43:16Speaker 4: what are those new shows? The Valley seems to be
- 43:18Speaker 4: doing well so that, but that feels such so connected
- 43:21Speaker 4: to vander Pump Rules. I'm just waiting for what the
- 43:24Speaker 4: next not Bravo hit is.
- 43:28Speaker 2: That's what I'm Isn't it aren't share shaws of Was
- 43:32Speaker 2: it again that they're getting a valley that they're now
- 43:35Speaker 2: getting a new like a valley thing, right?
- 43:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but I still will miss them more. There's more
- 43:42Speaker 4: out there that we haven't really touched. And I'm curious.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Do you have any ideas?
- 43:47Speaker 4: Oh gosh, no, I don't. I'm not. I don't know.
- 43:49Speaker 1: In five years from now, you think that the Housewives
- 43:52Speaker 1: landscape is going to look very different. The existing shows
- 43:55Speaker 1: are not all going to be there, and it's going
- 43:57Speaker 1: to be a lot of new ones with lower salaries.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Yeah, And I think that's just business. It just makes
- 44:02Speaker 4: perfect sense, you know, if the ratings are dwindling and
- 44:06Speaker 4: things are changing, I wouldn't be surprised if they just
- 44:09Speaker 4: found newer cities too.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Yeah, And to be honest, this Rhode Island Cast, I
- 44:13Speaker 1: mean some of the things I've heard about them, I'm
- 44:16Speaker 1: so excited to watch I want to just inject it
- 44:18Speaker 1: into my veins. Have you read this one really whose
- 44:21Speaker 1: husband's career is a Frank Sinatra impersonator.
- 44:23Speaker 4: That's incredible. Yeah, I've heard a lot about the Rhode
- 44:27Speaker 4: Island Cast. And I used to live in Rhode Island.
- 44:30Speaker 4: I went to college there, and I have a four
- 44:33Speaker 4: oh one area code phone number still because I got
- 44:36Speaker 4: my cell phone when I was in Rhode Island. So
- 44:38Speaker 4: I have a lot of positive feelings towards the Ocean State,
- 44:41Speaker 4: and I'm really excited to see what they what they
- 44:44Speaker 4: turned that franchise into. And everyone keeps.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Asking RD Island and people keep asking like where are
- 44:51Speaker 2: they going to be filming?
- 44:52Speaker 4: But the whole state is so small you can drop
- 44:54Speaker 4: the whole thing in an hour. So I think they're
- 44:55Speaker 4: going to be filming all over, you know. I just
- 44:57Speaker 4: think that it's going to be There's gonna be people
- 44:59Speaker 4: in cran and there's gonna be people in Narraganza, and
- 45:01Speaker 4: there's gonna be people in Newport and Warwick, and Providence.
- 45:05Speaker 4: I just think they're gonna be everywhere. I can't wait
- 45:07Speaker 4: to see how it all turns down. And it's gonna
- 45:09Speaker 4: be fun. I think, to have another East Coast franchise
- 45:13Speaker 4: in a place that kind of like Potomac right where
- 45:16Speaker 4: people didn't really know anything about or you know, and
- 45:18Speaker 4: and get to see a whole group of people, you know.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I keep I always like waiting for Boca or Long
- 45:24Speaker 2: Island or like the obvious choices. It's so interesting to
- 45:27Speaker 2: me that they they and I'm like Rhode Island.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I think I think that the network is probably staring
- 45:33Speaker 1: clear of any ethnic shows that have to do with
- 45:38Speaker 1: any kind of wars right now, you know, because in
- 45:42Speaker 1: terms of like Boca and Long Islands, you know, I
- 45:46Speaker 1: think that.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Motions tied to all of that, you know, for years,
- 45:52Speaker 2: So I thought, like, what about Boca. It's so to
- 45:55Speaker 2: me it was just like it was prime primed for.
- 45:59Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I think it's very Republican and I don't know that
- 46:02Speaker 1: that's Bravo's brand in Boca.
- 46:05Speaker 4: Well, again, it becomes it becomes political in ways that
- 46:08Speaker 4: I always argue I don't really care about. I certainly
- 46:11Speaker 4: have my own political beliefs. But I like to watch
- 46:14Speaker 4: TV and feel like I'm looking into a window, not
- 46:17Speaker 4: into a mirror. I don't want to see me or
- 46:20Speaker 4: my life. It's very boring, you know, or my views.
- 46:23Speaker 4: I want to see people who have different perspectives on things.
- 46:25Speaker 4: And I think we all need to be a lot
- 46:27Speaker 4: less judgmental and critical. I think we sort of need to.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Like, Amen, Amen.
- 46:33Speaker 4: You're talking to somebody who deleted all in social media
- 46:35Speaker 4: and hasn't been online in two years.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I can't believe that you haven't been back yet. That's
- 46:40Speaker 2: amazing to me. I love it because of it.
- 46:43Speaker 4: God, yeah, much very much. So I've stopped. I have
- 46:46Speaker 4: no idea what anyone says about me, and it's lovely.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Really, I love it.
- 46:50Speaker 1: By the way, I was listening to Watchful Crappens the
- 46:53Speaker 1: other day and they were saying they they mentioned you,
- 46:56Speaker 1: and they were like.
- 46:57Speaker 3: Yeah, Dave Quentin disappeared, like you're well go and like
- 47:01Speaker 3: he hasn't been seen since, but he's working away, he's
- 47:03Speaker 3: plugging away, but like no one knows where he is
- 47:07Speaker 3: where he is.
- 47:07Speaker 2: But I love that. What bad things, what anyone say
- 47:10Speaker 2: about you?
- 47:10Speaker 1: I can't even know, no one ever says a bad
- 47:12Speaker 1: word about you.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Oh, I know. I'll let you know. The people don't
- 47:16Speaker 4: like me, it's no problem, you know. The truth at
- 47:17Speaker 4: the end of the day is that I like me
- 47:20Speaker 4: and I just don't.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Really we love you.
- 47:23Speaker 4: I don't want to worry about all that stuff. And
- 47:24Speaker 4: if you have something to say about me, you better
- 47:26Speaker 4: say it behind my back because I don't care. I
- 47:29Speaker 4: don't want to know, and I would much prefer to, like,
- 47:31Speaker 4: you know, live in my own internal bliss of just
- 47:34Speaker 4: feeling happy about myself and not feeling stressed out of me.
- 47:37Speaker 2: I love it.
- 47:37Speaker 1: I do have to say I signed up of Instagram
- 47:40Speaker 1: when Finale was airing last year for a month, and
- 47:44Speaker 1: it was really freeing.
- 47:45Speaker 2: It was great.
- 47:47Speaker 4: It's wonderful to sort of be away from it. I
- 47:49Speaker 4: do think if if I had any I mean, you know,
- 47:51Speaker 4: I've given a lot of advice to housewives. I've given
- 47:53Speaker 4: both of you a lot of advice. Jackie, I met
- 47:55Speaker 4: you before your season started hearing Yeah, and gave you
- 47:58Speaker 4: this whole thing. I do think that, like the number
- 48:01Speaker 4: one thing that would be so helpful for every housewife
- 48:03Speaker 4: is not to be on social media. It's just like,
- 48:06Speaker 4: if you can afford to hire someone to post for you.
- 48:10Speaker 4: Just do that and just move forward and not look
- 48:13Speaker 4: at it.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and it doesn't even end on the show ends,
- 48:15Speaker 1: because I saw yesterday that Mia, well by the time
- 48:18Speaker 1: this airs, I'm not sure when this is airing, but
- 48:20Speaker 1: Mia is now telling the cast of Potomac that they
- 48:24Speaker 1: better not be talking about her or she'll sue them
- 48:26Speaker 1: for defamation. And like it's just like you're, you're done,
- 48:30Speaker 1: move on with the life, like you know they're going
- 48:32Speaker 1: to talk about you, but like you know, it just
- 48:36Speaker 1: stays and it weighs on you, and like it keeps
- 48:39Speaker 1: you like aggravated.
- 48:41Speaker 2: You know, picture like that being like if I logged
- 48:43Speaker 2: off of not now because no one's really talking about
- 48:46Speaker 2: me now, but like if I had logged off of
- 48:48Speaker 2: social media because I'm always like, well, I'm gonna miss
- 48:51Speaker 2: you know, the people in my life and just had
- 48:53Speaker 2: like a private account with my non Housewives people, you know,
- 48:57Speaker 2: the people that I always was on Facebook with their
- 49:00Speaker 2: birthdays because it popped up on Facebook, Like that would
- 49:03Speaker 2: be I could probably compromise in that way. I wouldn't
- 49:05Speaker 2: feel so like I was, you know, missing out.
- 49:09Speaker 4: It is I think, yeah, everywhere you go, people are
- 49:12Speaker 4: going to ask you about this show. And that's the
- 49:14Speaker 4: one thing that Caroline Manze said to me once that
- 49:16Speaker 4: it really resonated with me. Or She's like, it's been
- 49:18Speaker 4: sixteen years and people still ask me about a table
- 49:20Speaker 4: flip that I didn't even do. Like for the rest
- 49:24Speaker 4: of my life, people are going to be asking me
- 49:25Speaker 4: about this stuff. And it's just you have to think
- 49:27Speaker 4: of it that way. Is that like it there's no
- 49:30Speaker 4: escape for you all. You're forever a part of this franchise.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Whether you liked it or not, you signed up.
- 49:34Speaker 2: I actually love that I loved it. I loved my
- 49:37Speaker 2: experience on the show.
- 49:38Speaker 1: There have been moments, of course, but I love the network,
- 49:41Speaker 1: I love the show, and I don't mind being associated
- 49:45Speaker 1: with it.
- 49:46Speaker 4: Yeah, And that's the thing I like. It's a mindset, right,
- 49:49Speaker 4: It's like, if they're always going to be coming to
- 49:51Speaker 4: me and talking to me about this thing, then I
- 49:52Speaker 4: have to be able to live with it and to
- 49:55Speaker 4: waist forward for it. So I recognize how difficult it
- 49:58Speaker 4: is for everyone. That's why I am very proud of
- 50:02Speaker 4: the fact that I've always sort of stayed in a positive,
- 50:05Speaker 4: loving kindness mentality, and I.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Think that's why everyone gravitates to you. I'm like, there
- 50:12Speaker 1: will be times when I'm on the phone with Dave,
- 50:14Speaker 1: We're like six housewives, they'll call through.
- 50:19Speaker 2: You are. You are like a very calming and but
- 50:24Speaker 2: like you know everything. You are the people magazine of
- 50:27Speaker 2: the tabloids. Yes, like rise above, you are the fair,
- 50:32Speaker 2: equitable and kind. Well, I guess People's not a tabloid,
- 50:37Speaker 2: but you know what I'm saying.
- 50:38Speaker 4: No, of course I understand exactly what you mean, and
- 50:40Speaker 4: I'm proud of that. Listen, I got to be able
- 50:42Speaker 4: to put my head down at the end of the night.
- 50:43Speaker 4: And I think that there's no there's nothing wrong with
- 50:46Speaker 4: fans wanting to have fun with all of this. It
- 50:48Speaker 4: is entertainment, I get it. But I do think that
- 50:50Speaker 4: there's a line cross that often happens where they don't
- 50:54Speaker 4: really understand the difference between like the silly and the
- 50:58Speaker 4: you know, serious, and they get really intense, and I
- 51:02Speaker 4: feel pretty bad for them. They did it towards me.
- 51:05Speaker 4: There were there were death rumors. By the way, when
- 51:07Speaker 4: I Instagram, I don't know, there were there were Reddit
- 51:12Speaker 4: boards and people were sending me told me scared out
- 51:16Speaker 4: of their mind that I killed myself. I was like, no, sorry,
- 51:22Speaker 4: look pretty good for a dead bitch.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Well, I feel like I could ask you questions all day, Jen,
- 51:28Speaker 1: Do you have anything else?
- 51:29Speaker 2: A million more? I know I really do too. But
- 51:33Speaker 2: I think I think this was wait wait because you
- 51:36Speaker 2: had something. You and I talked about something.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Jack.
- 51:38Speaker 2: I want to know, like you said, like, who is
- 51:41Speaker 2: who do you think is the best housewife?
- 51:43Speaker 1: Best housewife of all time? Taking me and Jen out
- 51:45Speaker 1: of it. You know, obviously I.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Don't think you.
- 51:49Speaker 4: I mean I long have people that I would put
- 51:51Speaker 4: on my mount rushmore of housewives that I think are
- 51:55Speaker 4: really good housewives. I really am a respector villain sort
- 51:59Speaker 4: of a guy. You know. I look at people like
- 52:02Speaker 4: Lisa Renna and I you know, I appreciate what they
- 52:05Speaker 4: brought to the show because I know how hard it
- 52:07Speaker 4: is to be the messy person, and I think that
- 52:10Speaker 4: they advance storyline in that way, and I look towards
- 52:12Speaker 4: people like that. The one I relate the most too
- 52:16Speaker 4: is Caroline Manzo. She's just always been my go to
- 52:19Speaker 4: favorite housewife because she reminds me a lot of you know,
- 52:23Speaker 4: my Italian family and sort of what I look for
- 52:26Speaker 4: in a person that loyalty, that like love and that
- 52:29Speaker 4: unconditional love kids, which just really yeah, you know, I
- 52:33Speaker 4: love that answer.
- 52:34Speaker 2: I would have not thought that you would have said that.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I would have not that. But there's a lot of
- 52:39Speaker 2: absolute sense.
- 52:40Speaker 4: Yeah, and there's a lot of different things. I mean,
- 52:42Speaker 4: I don't think there's any bad housewise. The truth is
- 52:45Speaker 4: like even the ones that people don't like, I've been like,
- 52:47Speaker 4: there's stuff I can find it in them that I
- 52:49Speaker 4: find enjoyable to watch.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of one and done's that I
- 52:53Speaker 1: don't agree with. I think they should have stuck around,
- 52:56Speaker 1: even like Noela on Ocean County, like I thought she
- 52:58Speaker 1: was chuck four.
- 52:59Speaker 2: I do get that. Why did she get fired? She
- 53:01Speaker 2: was cuckoo in the kookiest way. I don't Orange County.
- 53:06Speaker 2: I keep calling it Oceans That's okay.
- 53:08Speaker 4: Sometimes there's a thing as much too much storyline. I
- 53:11Speaker 4: think bron Wind and Burke out with the same situation,
- 53:13Speaker 4: like there's too much storyline for the audience to digest,
- 53:17Speaker 4: and it becomes really it feels very manufactured. Mea as
- 53:20Speaker 4: somebody else who dealt with that too much going on
- 53:24Speaker 4: in their lives. You know, you are like and I mean,
- 53:26Speaker 4: you need to slowly peel it back and she'll be
- 53:29Speaker 4: a fired I don't think so. I think that they
- 53:33Speaker 4: would have filmed with me again, but I think Mia
- 53:35Speaker 4: wasn't living in Potomac anymore, so that sort of makes
- 53:38Speaker 4: it hard to be on the Real Housewives of Potomac.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 53:42Speaker 4: But I don't know for sure. I didn't really inquire
- 53:44Speaker 4: about that one.
- 53:47Speaker 2: This is just a personal thing. Where do you What
- 53:49Speaker 2: do you think of Bethany?
- 53:51Speaker 4: Oh, it's so funny. Bethany is was and I think
- 53:56Speaker 4: many people feel the same way when you first watched
- 53:58Speaker 4: her on Housewives, Like was the character that we all
- 54:01Speaker 4: fell in love with because she was such a voice
- 54:03Speaker 4: of the people and it felt like her perspective on
- 54:06Speaker 4: things were so funny and so entertaining and so right on.
- 54:11Speaker 4: And she's continued to be somebody who has like used
- 54:15Speaker 4: social media, and you know, well after the show left,
- 54:18Speaker 4: found a way to continue being that voice of the people.
- 54:21Speaker 4: I'm entertained by it. She's always been really lovely to me.
- 54:24Speaker 4: She didn't do my book very famously refused to do
- 54:27Speaker 4: the book, but then talked a lot of shit about it,
- 54:29Speaker 4: which made the sales go up. So thanks Bethany for that.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Wow, I'm surprised you're a fan.
- 54:36Speaker 4: Well, you know again, like what is.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Lots of people are lots of people are fans of hers?
- 54:42Speaker 4: What is it going to cost me being I don't know.
- 54:44Speaker 4: I guess that at the end of the day, there's
- 54:46Speaker 4: not really a lot of people I'm not a fan of. Yeah,
- 54:49Speaker 4: you know, it's just that I would say there's two
- 54:51Speaker 4: or three of them that I pretty much don't like
- 54:53Speaker 4: off camera, that I don't really like on camera, and
- 54:55Speaker 4: they are and there are my connection just.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Beler, Metsy, Patsy, well, Dave, we love you and thank
- 55:05Speaker 1: you so much for coming on.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Will you come on again any time?
- 55:10Speaker 4: Seriously, I love you both so so much and I'm
- 55:12Speaker 4: so grateful. At the end of the day, no matter
- 55:15Speaker 4: what happens to Jersey, you're all icons in my eyes,
- 55:17Speaker 4: and I'm so grateful for all the incredible entertainments that
- 55:21Speaker 4: you've given us as viewers.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Oh, thank you, and we're grateful for you as well,
- 55:25Speaker 2: to say the least. Thanks Dave, thank you,
