- 0:00Speaker 1: This anxious 30 year old is about to bake and
- 0:02Speaker 1: sell 1,000 bagels in 24 hours. There's just one problem.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I've never baked a bagel in my life.
- 0:08Speaker 1: If she succeeds, she'll be one step closer to owning
- 0:11Speaker 1: her own bagel business and making her dream a reality.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I'm nervous because it might not work.
- 0:16Speaker 1: But if she fails, she'll go back to believing she's
- 0:18Speaker 1: not ready to build a business of her own. How
- 0:20Speaker 1: are we getting on?
- 0:21Speaker 2: I'm at 200 now, so I'm a bit worried.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I'm a bit worried as well. And honestly, I didn't
- 0:25Speaker 1: know which way this would go. She's struggling. It's a
- 0:27Speaker 1: lot of pressure starting a business. I've never said it wasn't.
- 0:29Speaker 1: But first, let me show you how we got here.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Let's open up. Let's go.
- 0:32Speaker 3: We're back on.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And stick around to the end, because along the way,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I'm going to share six lessons that could help you
- 0:37Speaker 1: make your dream come true, just like hers. Excuse me,
- 0:41Speaker 1: do you have a dream?
- 0:43Speaker 2: I have a dream, but I'm working on it. I
- 0:45Speaker 2: want to set up, it's a small dream, a bagel
- 0:47Speaker 2: and pizza brand.
- 0:48Speaker 1: What do you need to make it happen? What's missing?
- 0:51Speaker 1: You don't need it. Aoife thought she needed money to
- 0:52Speaker 1: start a business. I wasn't so sure, so I gave
- 0:55Speaker 1: her a challenge. How much is a bagel?
- 0:56Speaker 2: Well, I really fancy bagels about eight quid.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I would like to buy 10 bagels. When can I
- 1:00Speaker 1: get this bagel?
- 1:01Speaker 2: For you, I'll do next Wednesday.
- 1:02Speaker 1: See you Wednesday. So I arranged to meet Aoife five
- 1:04Speaker 1: days later, but there was one big problem.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Hi, my name is Aoife. I'm 30 years old and
- 1:09Speaker 2: I've never been to Bagel in my life.
- 1:11Speaker 1: But little did Aoife know that that was about to
- 1:13Speaker 1: change big time. And that all started with me trying
- 1:16Speaker 1: her first ever bagel.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You made it!
- 1:18Speaker 1: You made it! I'm excited to try your bagel.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I hope so, yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Got it here? Yeah, I've got it here.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:23Speaker 1: This is the name of it?
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 1: You did a brand. You went all in. Here we go.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Magic moment.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Aoife's problem clearly wasn't a lack of ability. It was
- 1:35Speaker 1: a lack of belief. So it was time to give
- 1:37Speaker 1: her a challenge big enough to prove herself wrong. How
- 1:39Speaker 1: many bagels could we sell in 24 hours? I reckon
- 1:44Speaker 1: we could sell 10,000 in a day. Should we try?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Let's try it.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So after doing the maths, I realised 10,000 bagels was impossible.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So instead Aoife would have to make 1,000 bagels, roughly
- 1:53Speaker 1: one every 43 seconds, assuming a 12 hour day. But
- 1:57Speaker 1: first we needed a kitchen. So we put a call
- 1:59Speaker 1: out online. One of my amazing fans, managed to give
- 2:01Speaker 1: us a kitchen to take over for this challenge. But
- 2:04Speaker 1: before we got started, I sent my team to find
- 2:06Speaker 1: out a little bit more about what inspired Aoife's dream.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I've always loved baking. I always did that with my
- 2:11Speaker 3: Nana when I was younger, visiting her in Ireland. Just
- 2:14Speaker 3: an amazing woman, amazing natural cook. I'm very lucky, like
- 2:18Speaker 3: I've got a very supportive family. It's very linked to me,
- 2:21Speaker 3: family and food, I think because of Nana.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But despite having a dream she cared deeply about, there
- 2:26Speaker 1: was one thing holding her back.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I have a lot of.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Self-doubt and, you know, like imposter syndrome and things.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You just never really feel good enough.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Like, my parents have been so supportive, maybe overly supportive,
- 2:37Speaker 3: to the point that, like, I don't want to let
- 2:38Speaker 3: them down ever.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Now it was time for Aoife to prove herself wrong.
- 2:41Speaker 1: The day of the challenge had arrived and my team
- 2:43Speaker 1: started unloading the ingredients. And that's when I realised the
- 2:46Speaker 1: scale of the challenge. And if Aoife couldn't pull this off,
- 2:48Speaker 1: her bagel shop dream could end before it had even begun.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Oh, God. That's crazy. I actually don't know how to
- 2:55Speaker 2: use any of this equipment.
- 2:57Speaker 3: When Zyren told me the challenge was 1,000 bagels, I
- 3:01Speaker 3: was very scared.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I just didn't want to bail again. I didn't want
- 3:05Speaker 2: it to not work out. I'm nervous because it might
- 3:08Speaker 2: not work, but we shall see. I'm going to try.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Aoife got straight to work preparing the toppings, but the
- 3:15Speaker 1: toppings were only one small part of the challenge because
- 3:18Speaker 1: making a bagel is surprisingly complicated. So before we can
- 3:21Speaker 1: go any further, let me show you how one is made. First,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you mix together flour, water, and yeast. and a few
- 3:26Speaker 1: other ingredients to make the dough. Then you shape it
- 3:28Speaker 1: into a bagel and leave it to rise. Then comes
- 3:31Speaker 1: the weird part. Unlike most bread, bagels are boiled before
- 3:34Speaker 1: they're baked. Cover them in seeds, bake them until golden brown,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and you've got yourself an everything bagel. Now all Aoife
- 3:40Speaker 1: had to do was make 1,000 of them, but there
- 3:42Speaker 1: was one problem. The oven had other ideas. What the hell?
- 3:49Speaker 2: Why does it hate me? I just don't know how
- 3:51Speaker 2: to use it.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And unfortunately for Aoife, the oven problems weren't the only
- 3:54Speaker 1: thing she was dealing with. During this challenge, and just
- 3:56Speaker 1: one week ago, she received some heartbreaking news.
- 3:59Speaker 3: A week ago, my nana sadly passed away. She was 106,
- 4:03Speaker 3: so that was really difficult. I think she taught me
- 4:06Speaker 3: a lot, and her kind of calmness, I'm definitely trying
- 4:09Speaker 3: to take that from her.
- 4:12Speaker 2: As like a legacy I suppose.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Aoife's nan may no longer have been there in person
- 4:16Speaker 1: but her influence still was after all family was one
- 4:19Speaker 1: of the reasons her dream meant so much to her
- 4:21Speaker 1: but the challenge wasn't waiting the clock was ticking and
- 4:23Speaker 1: despite all the preparation not a single bagel had been
- 4:26Speaker 1: made so I met with Aoife I heard the sad
- 4:28Speaker 1: news I'm so sorry oh thank you well her legacy
- 4:30Speaker 1: lives on through what you're going to create I've got
- 4:32Speaker 1: a little gift for you oh my god your own
- 4:34Speaker 1: little apron this is for you it's real With the
- 4:38Speaker 1: apron on, it was time to get back to work.
- 4:40Speaker 1: But first I want to talk about something important for
- 4:42Speaker 1: any business owner. Have you registered the company?
- 4:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And you've got a bank account now?
- 4:46Speaker 2: We're tied, yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Most people fail because they don't take action. What I've
- 4:49Speaker 1: noticed about you, from the first moment I met you,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you said you were going to do something and then
- 4:53Speaker 1: you've done it. So you've set up a bank account,
- 4:54Speaker 1: which means now people can pay you. But now when
- 4:57Speaker 1: you take money, it can go into your tied account
- 5:00Speaker 1: and actually be legitimate. You know, from day one. Are
- 5:03Speaker 1: you taking action? Go set up a Thai bank account today.
- 5:06Speaker 1: The link's down below. And if you use the code Simon,
- 5:08Speaker 1: you'll get 50 pounds when you spend 100 pounds. With
- 5:11Speaker 1: the business side sorted, it was time for Aoife to
- 5:13Speaker 1: get back to making her dream a reality. But the
- 5:15Speaker 1: oven still wasn't playing ball, and every delay put tomorrow's
- 5:18Speaker 1: challenge further out of reach.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So we have a little issue with the oven. It
- 5:22Speaker 3: keeps coming with reset gas. Could be going better, but anyway,
- 5:25Speaker 3: we'll get there. When the oven was not working, I
- 5:28Speaker 3: was very stressed. There was definitely a moment where I
- 5:31Speaker 3: was like, are we going to.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Have to stop now?
- 5:33Speaker 1: And just when Aoife thought things couldn't get any harder,
- 5:35Speaker 1: another setback threatened to derail her dream.
- 5:38Speaker 3: If this is correct, it's 33 degrees in here and
- 5:40Speaker 3: it definitely feels it.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Unfortunately, every setback was giving her another reason for Aoife
- 5:45Speaker 1: to give up on her dream. But luckily, help was
- 5:47Speaker 1: on the way.
- 5:47Speaker 3: We've got the air conditioning, which is good.
- 5:50Speaker 2: So it's helping the bagels.
- 5:52Speaker 1: After all that, the first batch of bagels was finally
- 5:54Speaker 1: in the oven. But the setbacks had already put Aoife
- 5:56Speaker 1: behind schedule, and with hundreds more bagels still to make,
- 5:59Speaker 1: she had a lot of catching up to do. So
- 6:00Speaker 1: I sent in a member of my team to check
- 6:02Speaker 1: on her progress.
- 6:03Speaker 5: It's time to see how she's getting on. Do you
- 6:05Speaker 5: feel like you're doing quite a lot for one person
- 6:07Speaker 5: right now?
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:09Speaker 5: How many bagels through are we now?
- 6:11Speaker 2: About 200.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, so.
- 6:14Speaker 1: 20% of the way. Aoife was falling behind, so I
- 6:16Speaker 1: think it's about time we call for some backup.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Hey, is that Thomas?
- 6:19Speaker 5: You're the emergency contact. And there is a bit of
- 6:22Speaker 5: an emergency. Do you think you could come down? Yeah. No,
- 6:27Speaker 5: I would come right now if you can. They've never
- 6:35Speaker 5: made any bagels before. I don't know how much help
- 6:39Speaker 5: they're going to be.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Let's see. Nobody succeeds alone. Family has always been at
- 6:43Speaker 1: the heart of Aoife's dream. And when she needed help
- 6:45Speaker 1: the most, hers were there to support her.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Aoife's dream, she had been just mentioning it quite a bit.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Leading up to this meeting with Simon was just so ironic.
- 6:53Speaker 2: When Aoife was given the challenge by Simon, I think
- 6:56Speaker 2: that spurred her into action.
- 6:58Speaker 1: The good news was Aoife finally had some help. The
- 7:01Speaker 1: bad news was we were running out of time. With
- 7:03Speaker 1: 800 bagels still to make, Aoife's dream was slipping away.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I was not confident that we were going to do it.
- 7:08Speaker 1: While Aoife fought to keep her dream alive, my team
- 7:10Speaker 1: were preparing a surprise she knew nothing about. But if
- 7:12Speaker 1: she couldn't finish the challenge, she'd never get to experience it.
- 7:15Speaker 1: But for Aoife, the toughest part about this challenge wasn't
- 7:17Speaker 1: just the baking.
- 7:18Speaker 4: The hardest part about the challenge so far has been
- 7:22Speaker 4: losing her grandma. I just wondered where she was mentally.
- 7:24Speaker 4: We felt that she would be with her here today,
- 7:27Speaker 4: and I felt I should be here with her.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Inspired by her nan and supported by her family, Aoife
- 7:32Speaker 1: kept going. As the evening approached, tray after tray came
- 7:35Speaker 1: out of the oven. The bagel counter kept climbing, and
- 7:37Speaker 1: with that, it was time for a quick check-in.
- 7:39Speaker 2: We've probably got like 300 left to do. Wow, okay.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 5: We have 300 bagels left to go, and it's almost
- 7:47Speaker 5: the end of the day. which isn't ideal, but we'll see.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Whilst Eva focused on keeping her bagel shop dream alive,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I had another problem to solve. In less than 12 hours,
- 7:56Speaker 1: she'd have to sell every single bagel. Do you like bagels?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Excuse me, do you like bagels? Do you guys like bagels?
- 8:05Speaker 1: You sure? Trying to help someone with their dream bagel.
- 8:10Speaker 1: That's all. I'm helping someone with their dream on Friday. Suburb.
- 8:13Speaker 1: 11 o'clock.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Bagels.
- 8:14Speaker 1: You promise me?
- 8:15Speaker 3: Deal.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I'm helping someone whose dream is to sell bagels. On
- 8:19Speaker 1: Friday in Suburb. Come and buy a bagel. And by
- 8:22Speaker 1: the time I'd finished the promotion, Aoife had done it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: 1000 bagels. The biggest challenge she'd ever taken on. But
- 8:27Speaker 1: making the bagels was only half the challenge. Tomorrow Aoife
- 8:30Speaker 1: would have to sell every single one of them.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I'm not sure what's going to happen tomorrow, but I'm
- 8:34Speaker 3: willing to give my best shot.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And to give Aoife the best chance of success, we
- 8:37Speaker 1: even paired her with a business mentor. So tomorrow we'd
- 8:40Speaker 1: find out if Aoife could do it or whether all
- 8:42Speaker 1: those doubts she'd had about herself were actually true. The
- 8:47Speaker 1: day has finally arrived. Aoife has to sell 1,000 bagels
- 8:52Speaker 1: to make her dream a reality. She can make the
- 8:54Speaker 1: most amazing bagels, but she doesn't believe it's possible to
- 8:58Speaker 1: turn it into a business. We created a pop-up store
- 9:00Speaker 1: for her today. with her brand. She doesn't know it's happening.
- 9:03Speaker 1: She's about to arrive. Let's see how she reacts. How
- 9:07Speaker 1: many bagels have you made?
- 9:08Speaker 2: A thousand.
- 9:10Speaker 1: How many bagels are we gonna sell today?
- 9:11Speaker 2: A thousand, hopefully.
- 9:12Speaker 3: The night before the challenge, I think I got like
- 9:14Speaker 3: four hours sleep. I was so stressed. I just felt
- 9:16Speaker 3: like sick.
- 9:17Speaker 2: It was so weird.
- 9:18Speaker 1: We have a big surprise for you. Come, I'll show you.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Your shop. Oh my gosh. You have your own shop.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Oh my God, that's crazy. Look at the logo and everything.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm speechless.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Now we just need customers. And thankfully, after yesterday's promotional stunt,
- 9:34Speaker 1: we already had people waiting outside. The customers weren't the
- 9:36Speaker 1: only ones who showed up. Her biggest supporters had too.
- 9:39Speaker 3: When people started to gather outside, that was quite stressful
- 9:42Speaker 3: because we obviously hadn't served one yet. I was definitely
- 9:44Speaker 3: fuelled on adrenaline for most of that day, to be honest.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Aoife had spent 24 hours making a thousand bagels, which
- 9:52Speaker 1: meant there was only one thing left to do, convince
- 9:54Speaker 1: people to buy them. This was the bit you can't fake.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Making bagels is one thing, but convincing people to pay
- 9:59Speaker 1: for them is another. At first it was one bagel
- 10:01Speaker 1: here and one bagel there but some people completely ignored
- 10:04Speaker 1: the plan.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Ten bagels.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Ten? Oh my gosh.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Eight.
- 10:09Speaker 4: I know. Thank you.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Selling something takes confidence but confidence alone won't make a
- 10:15Speaker 1: good product. Thankfully we had a shop full of taste
- 10:17Speaker 1: testers ready to give their verdict. Really good.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Mmm, very good. Delicious.
- 10:23Speaker 3: So good.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And it's green.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I don't even know what it is. I've never seen
- 10:26Speaker 1: it before.
- 10:26Speaker 2: It's so good as well. Did you like it? Yeah,
- 10:29Speaker 2: it was delicious.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I'm getting feedback that people are liking them. And we've
- 10:32Speaker 3: had some people that are in New York all the
- 10:33Speaker 3: time and they've said they're just as good. So South
- 10:36Speaker 3: London's coming for New.
- 10:37Speaker 2: York, I think.
- 10:38Speaker 1: The first customer seemed to love the bagels, but customer
- 10:40Speaker 1: reviews only tell you so much. So it was time
- 10:42Speaker 1: for a second opinion. One from someone who's built one
- 10:44Speaker 1: of the UK's most successful food brands, John Vincent, the
- 10:47Speaker 1: founder of Leon. Would you mind trying the bagel? Oh,
- 10:50Speaker 1: would I mind? Do you mind? And if John didn't
- 10:52Speaker 1: like the bagels, we had a big problem.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Olive oil?
- 11:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it's basil cream cheese with olive oil.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Absolutely delicious.
- 11:06Speaker 1: It's really good. Everyone liked the bagels and things were
- 11:08Speaker 1: looking good, or so I thought.
- 11:10Speaker 2: We've sold 87 so far.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Okay, 87 in an hour.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So right now it's going to be, at this pace,
- 11:18Speaker 1: 10 hours. The bagels clearly weren't the problem, so something
- 11:21Speaker 1: else had to be, and I think I had the answer.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I noticed you were very stressed. The other thing is
- 11:25Speaker 1: I'm noticing one really important thing. You should be on
- 11:28Speaker 1: the tilt.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Katie, my EA, has taken over the customer service. The
- 11:33Speaker 1: difficult thing is telling the story.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:35Speaker 1: And you need to be out front doing that.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:37Speaker 1: So we're going to switch out.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 11:38Speaker 1: This is why you have to start a business. Because
- 11:40Speaker 1: now you're seeing all the mistakes. Katie, you're fired.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Why?
- 11:44Speaker 1: Because you're too good at your job.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 11:46Speaker 1: And the founder... is getting overshadowed by your brilliance.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Okay, you're in charge.
- 11:52Speaker 3: I'm trying to launch this bagel business in honour of
- 11:55Speaker 3: my nana who died recently, but she's a big baker.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Thanks very much. We've got one bagel, please. And thank
- 12:00Speaker 2: you for coming.
- 12:00Speaker 1: It means a lot. As Aoife stepped out from behind
- 12:03Speaker 1: the counter, the shop started to get busier.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Thank you, yeah. Hopefully it fills you up.
- 12:07Speaker 1: For a moment, it felt like everything was starting to click.
- 12:10Speaker 1: How are we getting on?
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, we're doing okay.
- 12:11Speaker 3: We've done about 200 now. Almost past the lunchtime, so
- 12:14Speaker 3: I'm a bit worried.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So I'm a bit worried as well. With any business...
- 12:18Speaker 1: This is actually really interesting. A lot of people give
- 12:20Speaker 1: up now. Yeah, okay. It was fun. I tried it.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 3: At the midway point, we sold about 200 bagels, which
- 12:27Speaker 3: was quite stressful because it was like kind of going
- 12:30Speaker 3: beyond lunchtime at that point as well.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it was, yeah, worrying. Definitely worrying.
- 12:35Speaker 1: With every hour that passed, catching up was looking less
- 12:38Speaker 1: and less likely. And the reality was we still had
- 12:40Speaker 1: 800 bagels left to sell. So I had another idea.
- 12:43Speaker 1: What I think you should do is copy what other
- 12:45Speaker 1: people do. So what do they do? They slice up
- 12:47Speaker 1: the food and they take it outside and get people
- 12:48Speaker 1: to try it as they're walking by. She's struggling. I
- 12:51Speaker 1: can see it. It's a lot of pressure starting a business.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I've never said it wasn't. But learning to deal with
- 12:55Speaker 1: the pressure is what everyone can do if the mission
- 13:00Speaker 1: matters enough.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Do you guys want to try a free sample of bagel?
- 13:03Speaker 3: For sure?
- 13:04Speaker 2: Okay. Do you girls want to try a sample of bagel?
- 13:07Speaker 2: It's free. You sure? Do you like a bagel?
- 13:11Speaker 3: No.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, what's the strategy?
- 13:13Speaker 3: Getting people to try bagels was hard. Like, people don't
- 13:16Speaker 3: want to eat things strangers are giving them, funnily enough.
- 13:19Speaker 1: People weren't walking past because the bagels were bad. They
- 13:22Speaker 1: were walking past because they didn't know Aoife's story yet.
- 13:24Speaker 2: They're trying to launch this brand. Like, Nana's a big baker.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Very good thank you so much for stopping cheers enjoy
- 13:31Speaker 3: and legacy of my my nana.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Good friends coming around for a buffet dinner tonight.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Oh wow catering this time the thing i did a
- 13:37Speaker 3: bit differently that hopefully is working is i kind of
- 13:41Speaker 3: leaned into my story a bit more and like telling
- 13:42Speaker 3: people about nana thank you.
- 13:43Speaker 1: For helping our dreamer in this video it's so important
- 13:46Speaker 1: we can make a huge difference to people's lives just
- 13:48Speaker 1: by you watching this video we use the revenue from
- 13:50Speaker 1: this video to fund people's dreams in addition if you
- 13:53Speaker 1: really want to support there's two other things that you
- 13:55Speaker 1: can do. First of all, we've launched a drinks brand
- 13:57Speaker 1: called Dream Brew. It's a subscription business. It's basically a
- 14:00Speaker 1: way of you becoming a member of our dream club.
- 14:02Speaker 1: The link's down below. It's called Dream Brew. It's great
- 14:04Speaker 1: coffee and you can be part of something. And then finally,
- 14:06Speaker 1: I've written a book called What's Your Story? It's a
- 14:08Speaker 1: new book that will change the way you think about
- 14:10Speaker 1: how to tell your story And most importantly, a lot
- 14:13Speaker 1: of you will be telling yourself it's not possible. You'll
- 14:15Speaker 1: be telling yourself a story about why it's not possible.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I want to help you remove those limiting belief systems.
- 14:21Speaker 1: We talk about in the book what they are and
- 14:22Speaker 1: how to remove them. Again, the link's down below. If
- 14:24Speaker 1: you buy these things, I can find even more dreams
- 14:27Speaker 1: and make even more stories like this, hopefully entertaining, teach
- 14:30Speaker 1: you something, and also bring value to the world. Thank you.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Enjoy the rest of the story. Aoife had finally found
- 14:35Speaker 1: her confidence, but the problem was the customers had disappeared.
- 14:39Speaker 1: So how's it going?
- 14:40Speaker 2: It's very okay.
- 14:41Speaker 1: What number are we at now?
- 14:43Speaker 2: 346 bagels sold.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Right, and we're at, what time is it now? Nearly
- 14:47Speaker 1: three o'clock. So you've got kind of a lunch, a
- 14:49Speaker 1: dinner push now. One of the biggest lessons in business
- 14:51Speaker 1: is knowing when to stop trying to do everything yourself.
- 14:54Speaker 1: So it was time for me to get my hands dirty.
- 14:56Speaker 1: We fired up a TikTok live, I jumped behind the counter,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and the help bank team hit the streets to bring
- 15:00Speaker 1: more people in. Have a look at the bagels. If
- 15:02Speaker 1: they don't interest you, the flavour's not nice. You don't
- 15:04Speaker 1: have to buy one. And soon enough, a crowd started
- 15:07Speaker 1: to form. So I thought I'd try something a little different.
- 15:09Speaker 3: All right.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Let's open up, let's go, we're back on. Anyone got
- 15:12Speaker 1: a coin? All right, got a pound coin. Everything about
- 15:15Speaker 1: this is hijacked. You can have it for free or
- 15:19Speaker 1: it's double or you pay six pounds. I'm gonna do
- 15:20Speaker 1: heads or tails. Tails, right? Which is free.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Shit.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Congratulations, I'm now losing the business money. Heads, it's free.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Oh no! Though that was fun, Aoife's accountant probably wouldn't agree.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So we went back to selling bagels the real way.
- 15:38Speaker 1: But soon enough, our crowd died down and we only
- 15:41Speaker 1: had one hour left. No more customers. We have a problem.
- 15:44Speaker 1: We've only sold 500 bagels. We need to sell a thousand.
- 15:46Speaker 1: There was only one thing left to do. Keep selling.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Aoife and her family stayed with the shop and I
- 15:51Speaker 1: went looking for more customers. How much would you pay
- 15:53Speaker 1: for this bagel?
- 15:54Speaker 2: I don't know, five pounds.
- 15:55Speaker 1: It was a hard sell.
- 15:56Speaker 4: 650.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd pay that. But every no gets you closer
- 15:59Speaker 1: to a yes. Would you buy one?
- 16:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:01Speaker 1: And eventually we sold a few more bagels. So after
- 16:03Speaker 1: hours of baking, hours of selling, and more than a
- 16:05Speaker 1: few setbacks, time had ran out. It was finally time
- 16:08Speaker 1: to see how we'd done. Guys, come, come, family. Another
- 16:11Speaker 1: family meeting. So you know how many bagels we've sold today?
- 16:15Speaker 2: I think we did about 300. So it's 556.
- 16:16Speaker 3: 556. Wow.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You have a talent, though.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Just think how proud your Nana would be.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Just keep fighting, keep pushing, right? She'll be proud of
- 16:28Speaker 1: you today. We have 400 odd bagels left.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yes. Right?
- 16:32Speaker 1: Which is, if we sold them, it's £ 2, 000. Yeah. So
- 16:37Speaker 1: I'm going to pay £ 2, 000 for the rest of the bagels.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Okay?
- 16:39Speaker 1: And I'm going to give you that money to start
- 16:42Speaker 1: your weekend market stall. And that's it. Your dream has begun.
- 16:45Speaker 1: What a wonderful experience.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Thank you. Thank you. Woohoo!
