- 0:37Speaker 2: We're going to look, go over what are the keys to the game going to be, because Duke is for real.
- 0:44Speaker 3: For real, for real.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Yeah, they are.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Duke is for real.
- 0:47Speaker 1: You know I've heard about Duke all season.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I was like, oh yeah, duke's for real.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I heard that before.
- 0:52Speaker 1: But then I actually got to see them play and I was like, wow, duke is actually for real.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Not like the old Duke with the five year starters and you know you got your solid foundation.
- 1:04Speaker 1: No, they got some freaking dudes over there.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Right, right, and the big question for them was the status of Riley Leonard, the quarterback, who he's chanceful, he's chance, yeah, he is.
- 1:16Speaker 2: So you know everybody saw the injury.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It was right there, like on the last play against Notre Dame, and look like this Right, he had crutches that night.
- 1:25Speaker 1: No losers.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Lamp is what we call that.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I was shocked he didn't break that.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it was gross, it did it did not look good.
- 1:35Speaker 3: It was gross, but she, I think, elko his comments midweek and then now what?
- 1:43Speaker 3: What Adam Rowe, publisher at devils den dot com, is saying about he would be shocked if Riley Leonard got to go ahead on Saturday.
- 1:52Speaker 2: They'd be shocked.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I'd be shocked with Elko's comments about.
- 1:58Speaker 3: You know, future and long term considering here I he, I think I'd probably be surprised.
- 2:05Speaker 3: You know, if he wakes up on Saturday morning he's like holy shit, my ankle is all better than yeah, he'll, he'll strap it up.
- 2:12Speaker 1: But I think we see the back.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Is he the next Daniel Jones?
- 2:17Speaker 3: I think he's a little better Got NFL.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's better than Daniel Jones too.
- 2:21Speaker 1: What is better than Daniel?
- 2:23Speaker 2: I do.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Danny Dimes.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I believe it.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Do you know?
- 2:32Speaker 3: I know one guy, one guy on your defense.
- 2:33Speaker 1: A line really caught my eye when I was watching them.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Do you look like a beast?
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yeah, they got.
- 2:38Speaker 3: They got a.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Their defense is, you know, from a blue chip perspective it's not going to be.
- 2:44Speaker 3: It's not going to be on par with Clemson or LSU, but their every bit is good.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Right that they're secondary.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Miles Jones transfer from Texas A&M yeah, is actually.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Great, I have a, a they're actually very cornerback.
- 3:03Speaker 2: They have a lot of transfers just just like Florida State.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yes they have a lot of veteran players that have played other places.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Why don't you want to transfer?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Is the safe outblades.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Great for Duke was transfer from Miami.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Oh, he probably sucks.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Now he's playing pretty well.
- 3:19Speaker 2: He's got that.
- 3:19Speaker 2: That.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I would say their, their secondary, is the most improved unit of that defense, and that's what.
- 3:27Speaker 2: That's what's taking them to a whole another level.
- 3:29Speaker 2: They had a good defense last year, but this year it's really dominant.
- 3:34Speaker 3: They got a better talent in the secondary.
- 3:36Speaker 2: They're giving up less than 10 points a game.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Well, miles Jones, your defense is better than Syracuse's defense.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, 100 times better Miles.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Jones, they're ranked 11th bro.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Well Duke is top five in eight different statistical categories.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Miles Jones is great now.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Right now, that's twice as good.
- 4:00Speaker 3: He's great now as the best corner in college football through the season right now.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Until he plays our receiver.
- 4:08Speaker 1: We're going to find out.
- 4:09Speaker 3: The best, the best offense they've faced is Notre Dame's right from a statistic.
- 4:14Speaker 1: They didn't have a good offense, yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 3: And the wide receiver threat isn't there.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It wasn't there when they played Clemson.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Well, they've shut down every offense they've played, though that's all you can ask of them.
- 4:23Speaker 2: That's why I mean it's going to be a.
- 4:25Speaker 2: That's the matchup I'm looking forward to.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Most is FSU's offense versus Duke's defense.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm looking for a Heisman moment.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what you want to see, that's a Heisman type performance.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I want a Heisman moment at a Jordan Travis.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I mean you'll have the stage.
- 4:40Speaker 2: This would be the stage.
- 4:43Speaker 1: A neck and bootleg 60 yard TD run, something like that.
- 4:50Speaker 1: You know, when the game still, when the game still tight, like in the second quarter or something you know, and that kind of just breaks it and wide open.
- 4:58Speaker 3: The thing about Elko and his defense and why Jimbo wanted him for so many years and why he was, you know, the top DC, is that they he runs that zone that too high, but he disguises it a lot so they don't.
- 5:12Speaker 3: They're designed to not give up big plays, yep.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to see Jordan Travis accurately.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Just drive it down the field two, three times consecutively.
- 5:22Speaker 3: You force a defense to start taking chances.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Then you get something like a possible 60 yard run on a bootleg.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Right, when you catch, all you've got to do is make one guy miss and listen.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Speaking of defense, how about that performance out of our defense last week?
- 5:37Speaker 2: That's what you want to see.
- 5:38Speaker 2: And you want three points going to be sell out crowd and how many points do we leave on the board?
- 5:44Speaker 1: That's what I want to know.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Quite a few.
- 5:47Speaker 1: We did not look crisp on offense last week.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Hopefully we got those wrinkles ironed out and we're ready to go Drops, especially at dough.
- 5:55Speaker 1: It wasn't just the drops man, it was just un-crisp, just not, not, not.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I mean, you know the numbers would say differently, but if you watch that game closely like it just was not a great performance out of our offense.
- 6:08Speaker 3: No, but you know, I will take 41 points if they can yeah, of course I mean if they can do 31 on Saturday.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly I like that head coach.
- 6:18Speaker 1: He's so much I wouldn't even want to hang 60 on him.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Dude, he seems awesome.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah, he keeps his name again Dino, dino baby, he seems tight.
- 6:28Speaker 3: He's not making any excuses.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yeah, he's calling it what it is.
- 6:31Speaker 3: We don't have the talent.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Everybody else came and got it from us.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It was like when all those schools were closed down during COVID.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I was like, look, I'm just going to go ahead and say it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: My kids too dumb to miss any more school or height.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Somebody's got to say it.
- 6:45Speaker 1: He's the big.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Seriously, since it's Friday, I have to ask you all the real question what TV show of all time from TGIF?
- 6:56Speaker 1: Oh, man, wow, there's a lot of good ones, a lot of very successful ones, but what was your personal I want to go with.
- 7:06Speaker 3: It's a tie.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Because what?
- 7:09Speaker 3: For a while there, I guess Fresh Prince was always on NBC.
- 7:12Speaker 3: All right, I don't know what the favorite was, but the lineup of Full House to Family Matters then to step by step, was probably the peak of TGIF, peek of television.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it really matters, those three.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Don't sleep on dinosaurs now.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah, dinosaurs was good.
- 7:30Speaker 3: It was just what was there, like three seasons yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I think I got to go step by step with Cody out there and living the dream and the van and the driveway, hey, hey hey, rest in peace to Suzanne Summers.
- 7:40Speaker 3: She recently passed the mom's from set by step.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Pat, that's a good question for the listener.
- 7:46Speaker 1: If you want to email the show, give us your favorite TGIF show of all time, Probably.
- 7:52Speaker 1: What do you think the most successful was Full House.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Or.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Family.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Matters.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Family Matters.
- 7:57Speaker 2: They were definitely the longest running.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, what's crazy is like nobody, really nobody, got any action off that Family Matters sitcom except Carl, everybody else.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You didn't see him anywhere else.
- 8:10Speaker 1: He's talking about the cop.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Tell him about the cop from Die Hard.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, he was in a couple other things.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I've been saying it for weeks now, but I think tomorrow night in Dope Campbell Stadium Will be the most electric atmosphere we've seen anywhere in the nation so far this year in college.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Really, I do, wow, I do, it's just.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It's just, it's been, it's gonna be, balance.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Man, you know these moon games.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It's hard for the crowd to get too crazy in these games.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You got them drink for about five, six hours straight and funnel them into dope.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And man, at time that kickoff happens, it's gonna be crazy in there, dude.
- 8:42Speaker 3: That's true, we really got no fans.
- 8:44Speaker 1: We got no fans coming from all around the country for this one.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yeah, let's think about.
- 8:50Speaker 3: This I'm telling you there, this is one more comment on that.
- 8:56Speaker 1: It's also it's against a Duke.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So it's gonna be more of like a positive, positive, like energy in there, as opposed to like when Miami or Florida, because there's so much hate in your heart, you know.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So it's just gonna be so electric, but like a positive electric charge, you know.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Let's talk about, uh, henry Belling, is it Belling?
- 9:13Speaker 3: Belling, belling the backup backup.
- 9:15Speaker 2: He's three star.
- 9:18Speaker 1: He's not a tiger otter medic, right, he's got a good arm I.
- 9:20Speaker 2: He can't run it like Leonard does.
- 9:23Speaker 3: He struggled in the passing game last week, you know against who?
- 9:27Speaker 2: NC state has a good defense.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Oh man, glad we don't play in this year.
- 9:31Speaker 3: He was four or 12 last week passing, but they, they lean on the running game right.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Um, you know, they got a local kid in their running game.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Jack was more at a swanney.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 9:42Speaker 3: He's kind of.
- 9:43Speaker 3: He's kind of they're lighting, sort of they're lightning in a bottle back, but I mean that that's that's what they're gonna do on offense try to keep the ball away.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Yeah, lead on the running game, take their shots and then just let the defense try to create havoc.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And create more.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Just we'll just stack the box and shut them down.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be interesting.
- 10:01Speaker 3: This is uh, you know, I don't think force a can't be afraid to punt either.
- 10:07Speaker 2: No no, a big game by the punter.
- 10:09Speaker 3: That's an underrated aspect of the punter in the conference.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't, you know, don't want to give Duke a short field, you know you don't want to give this off?
- 10:20Speaker 1: Just play football.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Is that deep Duke is fundamentally sound.
- 10:23Speaker 2: They're not going to turn it over.
- 10:24Speaker 1: No, onside kicks when you're up fucking two scores.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Okay, nothing like that, no.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I don't think you'll see any of that.
- 10:30Speaker 1: There's uh, let's hope not.
- 10:32Speaker 3: There's a lot of familiarity between the assistants on this, both staffs Um, kevin Johns, the offensive coordinator, worked for Mike Norville, was Mike Norville's offensive coordinator, I believe, when when Adam Fuller was on the staff in Memphis as well.
- 10:45Speaker 3: So you know that they, after going together in practice for a year or two, they they probably have Quite an insight into what each other is gonna do.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Uh, it's gonna be A battle man.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Uh, I I don't know if Duke has- I mean Elko and Fuller coached together back at Richmond.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 3: So there's, there's, yeah, the connections, they.
- 11:05Speaker 3: It'll be interesting that you're gonna have to win in the trenches.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I think you're gonna have to rely on that depth to the only way they can win, as if we turn the ball over.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I mean, that's pretty much it.
- 11:15Speaker 1: We got to protect the rock.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Play smart punt, like you said.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You know.
- 11:20Speaker 1: None of this Is pretty cute.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Should I go on for fourth down when you're on your own 35?
- 11:25Speaker 1: No dude.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Well, you don't want to see.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Jordan Travis.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Try to go out, take what's there, and if that means throw it away, it means throw it away.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You don't want to take any chances here.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely easy opportunity Protect the rock it would be a great game for anybody who who makes their living in the middle of the field.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Jean.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Bell, johnny Wilson, any.
- 11:46Speaker 2: It's gonna be good to have Wilson back in the game Let me.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Uh is bell gave a lot of NFL scouts watching him because he seems legit, dude.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Yeah, he's, he's, he's here.
- 11:56Speaker 1: He's got, he's got, he's gotta be on the next level, right.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why he left South Carolina.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Uh, you know he's he gone?
- 12:03Speaker 1: Is he gone after this year?
- 12:04Speaker 3: I would say it's, it's All but a certain to him.
- 12:08Speaker 2: So what is Florida State?
- 12:10Speaker 3: I think a lot of these guys are in their money year right need to do offensively in this game Run the ball sustain drives You're gonna have to like always, man.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you're gonna have to like have 10 to 12 red zone efficiency.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I know Florida State is really good.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Defense is really good in the red zone.
- 12:33Speaker 2: That is gonna be a huge key to this game is when you do down there.
- 12:37Speaker 1: What are you?
- 12:38Speaker 2: gonna do with the ball?
- 12:39Speaker 1: It's okay to get a couple field goals here and there.
- 12:41Speaker 1: You know you don't have to always go for it.
- 12:43Speaker 3: On fourth part, it's okay is running an end in a round or a jet sweep on first and go from the four.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Let's just leave that in the back pocket and not not bring it out.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sad like a naked bootleg baby.
- 12:57Speaker 3: That's my go to this great up the gut with one of your, one of your running backs tophilies.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Put size on man.
- 13:03Speaker 3: He can.
- 13:04Speaker 3: He can bang up there.
- 13:05Speaker 3: If you don't want Benson, like I don't get it, man, they get too cute in the red zone.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Oh they've been ridiculous.
- 13:12Speaker 1: They have yeah, but it's no.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Football kickers look amazing this year too.
- 13:16Speaker 1: So, yes, give him a chance.
- 13:18Speaker 1: You know, he's got so much confidence.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Right now we need it.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a you know, fundamentally sound teams are always annoying to play, but when you increase the talent level, like I mean, you have so much more talent.
- 13:32Speaker 1: All you got to do is protect the ball and play smart.
- 13:34Speaker 1: You're gonna win you got more depth.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I don't know if you you you have just talent across the board.
- 13:39Speaker 3: We out talent like their defensive line against Florida State's offensive line.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I would tip the scale to Duke.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 13:45Speaker 3: That's the only fucking yeah, I mean you know we'll see, and we'll see.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I mean we start running and all them.
- 13:53Speaker 1: We'll see how that fucking deal I hold up.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, this is.
- 13:56Speaker 3: This is definitely the test here.
- 13:57Speaker 1: You know, Duke is with the like can't be better than Clemson's deal.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I can't it.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Don't know you wouldn't think so, but like they've been more productive.
- 14:08Speaker 1: One at Clemson at high noon Biggest win in Norwell's career so far.
- 14:12Speaker 1: So let's just keep them.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you got to keep.
- 14:15Speaker 3: You got to keep that mindset.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I think that it's a good thing this game is at home.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of night games, especially on the road, but I'm glad this one's at night because I think I think our players are ready for a night game at home.
- 14:30Speaker 1: You know the spotlights on them.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I know our fans like it, you know so.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, it's gonna be loud, a big-time atmosphere.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yes, the best in college football.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know, I was wondering if game name was gonna come, but I guess they're gonna be in.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Columbus, yeah, columbus, pincere Ohio State 12 o'clock, you know that's a good thing.
- 14:53Speaker 1: We don't.
- 14:53Speaker 1: We don't game day here.
- 14:55Speaker 1: We don't need all the extra hype.
- 14:56Speaker 1: You know it's just going to take care of business.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Right, well, we have a score for us.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Big time, though.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I'll give you a score 44, 17 44 to 17.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you, man I put zero thought into that, that's just what popped into my head.
- 15:19Speaker 3: We win by that score, we're gonna be number three, no matter if Penn State beats Ohio State or not.
- 15:24Speaker 3: We beat Duke like that 44 to 17.
- 15:26Speaker 3: You'll see us sitting at number three.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean nobody has a better resume than we do so far, especially after tomorrow if we win.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Not if we're toting the score like that against an Elko defense where everybody is on that bandwagon right now.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Elko defensive genius, you put 44 on him Wow.
- 15:46Speaker 2: So let's hope that's how it rolls man shit.
- 15:50Speaker 3: What are we averaging for this?
- 15:52Speaker 2: season Score is over 30 points.
- 15:53Speaker 2: And what is it?
- 15:54Speaker 2: It's double digits now man.
- 15:55Speaker 2: It's gotta be like 11 or 12 straight.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Going back to when we started winning games.
- 16:00Speaker 2: That'll be on the line.
- 16:02Speaker 2: We're gonna be number three.
- 16:04Speaker 2: We're gonna be on the starting winning games.
- 16:05Speaker 2: That'll be on the line.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Don't be afraid to win this game.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Nobody from Neural expects for the state to get out of the 20s.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I was happy to see an email I got today from the University of Pittsburgh.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we'll officially be in the press boxes at Heinz Field baby, in two weeks, look for us.
- 16:28Speaker 3: The inaugural ACC press box.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yes, alright.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'm excited A long time coming.
- 16:42Speaker 3: That's right what you give me to wear a Philadelphia shirt up there In the press box.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Dude, I actually love Mike Tomlin Steelers.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Don't bother me, philadelphia fans, that bother me.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of him.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Eagles for this.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Dolphins Eagles Sunday baby, we got the two biggest games all fucking week.
