Transcript
- 0:12- Welcome to the divine five one five podcast.
- 0:16- Here is today's prayer.
- 0:24- Hello, and welcome to daily prayers with Valerie
- 0:27- Rocha. Today's prayer focus is how to trust
- 0:30- God's next chapter.
- 0:32- Scripture text comes from Jeremiah twenty nine eleven
- 0:35- and says, I know the plans I have
- 0:38- for you declares the Lord.
- 0:41- You know,
- 0:42- it's
- 0:43- difficult to turn the page when we don't
- 0:46- know what the next chapter holds,
- 0:50- and that's what makes letting go so difficult.
- 0:54- We know what we're releasing,
- 0:57- but we don't always know what we're receiving,
- 1:00- which
- 1:01- is why it requires faith.
- 1:04- And we struggle because we often want God
- 1:06- to reveal what's next before we're willing to
- 1:10- release completely what was.
- 1:13- But faith doesn't always work that way.
- 1:17- Sometimes we have to release it first,
- 1:20- then we discover.
- 1:23- And how prayer helps us is because
- 1:27- although we don't know what comes next, we
- 1:29- can take comfort in knowing that God is
- 1:31- still there.
- 1:33- And that's the foundation,
- 1:35- not certainty about circumstances,
- 1:37- which are subject to change.
- 1:41- Confidence
- 1:42- is in God's presence.
- 1:46- That being said, let's pray.
- 1:50- Father,
- 1:51- we don't know everything the next chapter holds,
- 1:54- but we trust you.
- 1:56- Keep us from returning to what you've helped
- 1:59- us release simply because the future feels unfamiliar.
- 2:03- Give us faith to keep moving forward with
- 2:06- you.
- 2:07- In Jesus' name, amen.
- 2:10- Well,
- 2:12- you don't have to know the whole story
- 2:15- to trust the author.
- 2:17- And
- 2:18- by the way, he does write a very
- 2:21- compelling story.
- 2:23- And if someone you know is standing between
- 2:25- an ending and a beginning,
- 2:28- share this prayer with him.
- 2:30- And remember,
- 2:32- turn the page with God.
- 2:36- He'll always give you a great ending.
