- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's Mark Simone. Welcome to the bonus segment of
- 0:03Speaker 1: for all you podcast listeners there. Remember I'll be away
- 0:07Speaker 1: for the next two weeks. Curtis Slee, what will be
- 0:10Speaker 1: filling in for me? That will be great to hear,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Curtis Again, a lot of stuff's gonna happen in two weeks.
- 0:18Speaker 1: You know. January first is inauguration day here in New York,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Mom Donnie takes office. Everybody not you know, just on edge,
- 0:28Speaker 1: not knowing what to think. What could happen when he
- 0:29Speaker 1: takes office. Well, a couple of things. First of all,
- 0:34Speaker 1: there's obviously you know, and it's worse than we thought.
- 0:38Speaker 1: There's a big budget shortfall about to hit New York
- 0:42Speaker 1: New York City. The budget is a mess New York
- 0:45Speaker 1: City and New York State too, but especially in New
- 0:46Speaker 1: York City. Over spends like crazy the budget. If anybody
- 0:52Speaker 1: rational we're running New York City could cut the budget
- 0:54Speaker 1: in half. We just waste tremendous amounts of money, spend
- 0:59Speaker 1: more than we should, and that's why we're taxing people
- 1:01Speaker 1: like crazy. But looks like there's gonna be a two
- 1:03Speaker 1: billion dollar shortfall the first year for Mom Donnie's gonna
- 1:08Speaker 1: get hit with being two billion short in his budget,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and by the end of his term that could go
- 1:14Speaker 1: to thirteen billion. And these numbers are coming from the controller,
- 1:18Speaker 1: who's Brad Lander, who's Mom Donnie's friend. But it's going
- 1:22Speaker 1: to be a horrible budget situation two billion short, so
- 1:26Speaker 1: it's gonna be very, very challenging. Now you know he's
- 1:29Speaker 1: talking about free this, free that, Well, you can't do
- 1:32Speaker 1: any of that, or even build some housing, and you
- 1:35Speaker 1: can't do any of that if you're two billion short
- 1:37Speaker 1: in money and you can't even pay the bills you got.
- 1:41Speaker 1: And then Mam Donnie's got some big challenges that are
- 1:43Speaker 1: going to hit him right away. Federal funding cuts are possible. Also,
- 1:48Speaker 1: they're going into contract negotiations with the Police Benevolent Association
- 1:53Speaker 1: and DC thirty seven, that's the city's largest municipal union. Now,
- 1:58Speaker 1: you know, if you're just a kid, if your mom Donnie,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and you've never had an actual job, if you've never
- 2:04Speaker 1: been a manager, if you've never run anything, possibly the
- 2:08Speaker 1: biggest challenge you could ever have is union negotiation. So
- 2:12Speaker 1: imagine a kid who's never had a job has to
- 2:14Speaker 1: sit down with DC thirty seven, a massive municipal union
- 2:19Speaker 1: and try to negotiate with them. This is where he's
- 2:22Speaker 1: going to get himself into real trouble. And this is
- 2:26Speaker 1: where Donald Trump might jump in. You know, He's got
- 2:29Speaker 1: an ongoing relationship now with Mom Donnie. They continue to
- 2:32Speaker 1: talk phone calls every so often. So in the middle
- 2:36Speaker 1: of Mom Donnie gets really stuck in this horrible union negotiation,
- 2:41Speaker 1: Trump might call him and say, you want me to
- 2:43Speaker 1: help you through this. Trump's an expert at negotiating with unions.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You know, when you build one hundred story skyscrapers everywhere,
- 2:51Speaker 1: you got to deal with a lot of unions. So
- 2:53Speaker 1: he might become like a big brother to him, a
- 2:55Speaker 1: mentor to him, showed him how to get through these
- 2:57Speaker 1: union negotiations, and you might see more of that. As
- 3:01Speaker 1: frightening as the thought of Mom Donnie as mayor is,
- 3:04Speaker 1: it might not be so bad if Trump becomes the
- 3:07Speaker 1: coach on the sidelines there. Hey, speaking of which, in
- 3:11Speaker 1: the middle of all this shortfall they wanted to be
- 3:13Speaker 1: money budget shortfall, New York City Council just voted themselves
- 3:16Speaker 1: the big rays sixteen percent raise for themselves, which also
- 3:22Speaker 1: means you have to do at the same time you
- 3:23Speaker 1: have to give the mayor a raise. The public advocate arrays,
- 3:26Speaker 1: the borough presidents have to get a raised, which is
- 3:28Speaker 1: why you won't see them complain about the city council
- 3:32Speaker 1: passing this. Now. In their defense, they haven't seen a
- 3:36Speaker 1: raise for many, many, many many years. But still sixteen percent,
- 3:42Speaker 1: that's a lot of money. Hey, Joe Biden may be
- 3:46Speaker 1: about to be hit with the biggest embarrassment any president
- 3:50Speaker 1: has ever been hit with. You know, when you're done
- 3:51Speaker 1: as president and you leave, first big project is you
- 3:54Speaker 1: have a presidential library. And if you've been president of
- 3:59Speaker 1: the United States, you got big donors that have supported
- 4:03Speaker 1: you for many, many years, massive big donors, billionaires, zillionaires,
- 4:08Speaker 1: And that's who you turn to when you got to
- 4:09Speaker 1: build a presidential library. First parton, you go to the donors.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You raise twenty thirty forty fifty million from the donors.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Then maybe you go to your supporters, the public, you
- 4:19Speaker 1: raise another fifty Biden is in big trouble. He's been
- 4:23Speaker 1: trying for two years and they can't raise any money.
- 4:27Speaker 1: He's raised like a two million dollars, which you need
- 4:29Speaker 1: like two hundred million to build a presidential library. They
- 4:33Speaker 1: think by the end of twenty twenty seven, they're hoping
- 4:37Speaker 1: to get to eleven million. So at that rate, it'd
- 4:41Speaker 1: be another twelve years before he could build a library.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Biden would then be a I don't know where. He'd
- 4:47Speaker 1: be ninety five at the time, So he may be
- 4:50Speaker 1: the first president not to be able to build a
- 4:52Speaker 1: presidential library. This would be the most embarrassing thing ever. Ever.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They're at four million right now, so if he's doing
- 5:01Speaker 1: four million a year, I mean that's going to be
- 5:05Speaker 1: fifty years to get the money for a library. It's
- 5:07Speaker 1: going to be impossible. This would be the biggest embarrassment ever.
- 5:11Speaker 1: First president who cannot raise money for a presidential library.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Now you know he's got these big donors, very very
- 5:17Speaker 1: wealthy billionaires Hedgeman, but obviously you don't think there's any
- 5:20Speaker 1: future for this guy. The only reason you give money
- 5:23Speaker 1: for a Clinton presidential library or a Bush presidential library,
- 5:27Speaker 1: if you're a big donors, you want to keep the
- 5:28Speaker 1: relationship going for a couple of reasons. One, you want
- 5:31Speaker 1: to be able to see the guy, have the guy
- 5:33Speaker 1: come to your events or parties, shake hands with you,
- 5:36Speaker 1: you know whoever your business people, or you'll want the
- 5:39Speaker 1: president to pull some strings for you, make some phone
- 5:43Speaker 1: calls for you to Washington or A lot of guys
- 5:46Speaker 1: used to Bill Clinton around the world. Bill Clinton had
- 5:48Speaker 1: a great relationship with all the foreign leaders. So if
- 5:51Speaker 1: you were a big zillionaire business guy and you need
- 5:54Speaker 1: to do some business in India, Bill Clinton could call
- 5:57Speaker 1: up the president of India and get you in the
- 6:00Speaker 1: door whatever you needed. So apparently these guys feel Biden
- 6:03Speaker 1: has no clout anywhere, no clout with anybody in Washington.
- 6:07Speaker 1: World leaders won't even take his call. So they're not
- 6:10Speaker 1: donating to the Presidential Library. Extremely extremely embarrassing for Biden.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Now what does he do? There is a secret plan
- 6:20Speaker 1: if all else fails, They're going to go to the
- 6:23Speaker 1: University of Delaware, where he's got a good relationship, and
- 6:27Speaker 1: take a building already existing at the University of Delaware.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Maybe you know, they've got a few library type buildings
- 6:33Speaker 1: and they'll call one of them the Biden Presidential Library.
- 6:36Speaker 1: That way, they'll never actually build a presidential library, but
- 6:39Speaker 1: the University of Delaware will establish one in one of
- 6:43Speaker 1: their buildings on campus, and then as soon as he dies,
- 6:45Speaker 1: they'll take the name off and take the building back
- 6:49Speaker 1: let's see here, PBS Public Broadcast. How could he cut
- 6:53Speaker 1: the funding for PBS. Well, here's exactly why, because wasn't
- 6:57Speaker 1: PBS supposed to be educational program I mean British dramas
- 7:03Speaker 1: and comedies and sesame Street. Well, somehow they got into slanted, slanted, biased,
- 7:10Speaker 1: deceptive news coverage and PBS has been doing this for years,
- 7:15Speaker 1: the most awful Trump bashing, slanted left wing new Why
- 7:21Speaker 1: would the government pay for that? Hey, if you want
- 7:22Speaker 1: to be a very slanted left wing news organization, go
- 7:25Speaker 1: ahead knock yourself out, but don't expect the taxpayers to
- 7:28Speaker 1: pay for it. So here's the latest one, the PBS
- 7:31Speaker 1: News Hour with their whole panel that holds segment on
- 7:35Speaker 1: how Trump is a racist? Is overtly racist rhetoric? What
- 7:40Speaker 1: the hell they're talking about? But they just bash him
- 7:44Speaker 1: and bash him and bash him. David Brooks was part
- 7:47Speaker 1: of the panel, Jonathan k part. So if you're ever oh,
- 7:51Speaker 1: they were talking about Elon Omer's comments about Omar, which
- 7:53Speaker 1: we're not racist. She is a horrible, horrible person, and
- 7:56Speaker 1: she's involved in what must what might be the biggest
- 7:59Speaker 1: taxpayer political scandal in history. So she's certainly a worthy target.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But if you're wondering how did PBS get its funding cut, well,
- 8:09Speaker 1: put up a picture of David Brooks, Jonathan k Part,
- 8:13Speaker 1: all of those people over there, just the most slanted,
- 8:16Speaker 1: awful coverage. Hey, you know, stock market's been going crazy.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It's going to hit the fifty thousand by the end
- 8:23Speaker 1: of next year, could hit sixty thousand. And what's this
- 8:26Speaker 1: all about? Some people say, well, it's AI that's really
- 8:30Speaker 1: doing it. AI is making the stock market go crazy.
- 8:32Speaker 1: So some people are starting to wonder, wait a minute,
- 8:35Speaker 1: didn't we go through this twenty five years ago with
- 8:38Speaker 1: the dot com bubble? Remember the end of the nineties,
- 8:40Speaker 1: same thing, same thing, stock market going crazy, people were
- 8:43Speaker 1: making a fortune, stock soaring, but it was a dot
- 8:46Speaker 1: com bubble and it burst and it was an economic
- 8:50Speaker 1: disaster and calamity for the country when it bursts. So
- 8:53Speaker 1: some people are saying, wait, are we doing the same
- 8:55Speaker 1: thing here? Haven't we created an exact same sort of bubble,
- 8:58Speaker 1: only this time it's an a eyebubble. Well, experts of
- 9:02Speaker 1: studying this there are striking similarities, but they point out
- 9:05Speaker 1: there's notable differences, and one of them is everybody's talking
- 9:11Speaker 1: about this being a bubble. And they always say if
- 9:13Speaker 1: everybody's saying it's a bubble, it probably isn't one. But
- 9:18Speaker 1: I remember in the late nineties people there were people
- 9:20Speaker 1: saying it was a bubble. But one big difference is
- 9:23Speaker 1: the scale of the price gains. Yeah, Navidia is up
- 9:26Speaker 1: a lot because of AI, but you know it's up
- 9:30Speaker 1: fifty four percent. You go back to the dot com bubble,
- 9:34Speaker 1: the stocks were going up five hundred percent, five thousand percent.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It was totally out of control and there are ups
- 9:43Speaker 1: and downs. So yeah, it's a bubble, but it's a
- 9:45Speaker 1: tiny one. It's not the tough sort of bubble. And
- 9:49Speaker 1: people are saying, don't worry, it's not that bad. And
- 9:52Speaker 1: also remember with the AI these companies are bringing in revenue.
- 9:56Speaker 1: They are bringing in revenue. That was the difference. The
- 9:59Speaker 1: dot com bubble of the time was Yahoo and those
- 10:02Speaker 1: kinds of and there was no profit. They were losing fortunes.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Well that's not the case with any of these AI companies.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Definitely strong profits. So big difference. Now he's when you
- 10:15Speaker 1: go to a party or you're arguing, people will say, well,
- 10:18Speaker 1: what's going to happen in the midterms, Who's going to
- 10:20Speaker 1: win the Republicans and the Democrats. Will the GOP hold
- 10:23Speaker 1: the House the Senate in the midterms, And people are
- 10:25Speaker 1: giving you these predictions, don't listen to it. There is
- 10:29Speaker 1: absolutely no way to predict this right now. It's like saying,
- 10:33Speaker 1: who's going to win the Super Bowl in twenty twenty eight.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Don't There's no way you could even forecast anything like that.
- 10:39Speaker 1: There's no such thing. It's December. The midterms are eleven
- 10:45Speaker 1: months away. The whole landscape is going to change six
- 10:48Speaker 1: times between now and then. Everything's going to change the economy,
- 10:52Speaker 1: the world situation, everything. We don't even know who the
- 10:55Speaker 1: candidates are going to be yet, some are some Republicans
- 10:57Speaker 1: will drop out, some Democrats will, you know, drop out
- 11:01Speaker 1: before the race that we have no idea who's running,
- 11:03Speaker 1: We have no idea what the country will look like,
- 11:05Speaker 1: what the landscape will look like. Do not listen to
- 11:08Speaker 1: anybody's predictions about the midterms. They are totally worthless right now.
- 11:13Speaker 1: You know, every fall you get these news stories about
- 11:19Speaker 1: it's going to be a very bad winter, it's going
- 11:20Speaker 1: to be a lot of snow this winter, it's going
- 11:23Speaker 1: to be a very cold winter, And they're always wrong.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And that's because if you talk to real weather experts,
- 11:28Speaker 1: the best weather people in the world, they'll tell you
- 11:31Speaker 1: there's no such thing as a seasonal forecast. It's impossible.
- 11:35Speaker 1: You could forecast. You can really only forecast accurately three
- 11:39Speaker 1: days out. You could sort of put together sort of
- 11:43Speaker 1: an accurate ten day forecast, but that's about it. You
- 11:45Speaker 1: can't forecast twelve months out, you can't do it, or
- 11:49Speaker 1: even three months out. You can't forecast two months out.
- 11:52Speaker 1: It's impossible. So there's no such thing as a seasonal forecast. Hey,
- 11:56Speaker 1: remember Black Lives Matter, Well, people are still looking into it,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and apparently it's still the grifters who are behind that
- 12:05Speaker 1: are still splitting up all sorts of stuff. They're all
- 12:09Speaker 1: sorts of scammers involved. They're looking back on it now,
- 12:11Speaker 1: people studying and say billions of dollars were scammed out
- 12:15Speaker 1: of American institutions. The Feds are actually going after people.
- 12:18Speaker 1: The Oklahoma City BLM franchise, three million dollar fraud scheme.
- 12:23Speaker 1: They've been caught in all over the place, Atlanta donations
- 12:28Speaker 1: stolen at half a million dollars. They're finding this all
- 12:31Speaker 1: over the country. You start seeing prosecutions of all of
- 12:33Speaker 1: this looks like many, many, maybe up to a billion altogether,
- 12:39Speaker 1: with stolen, scammed, skimmed BLM leaders paying for vacations, cars, properties,
- 12:45Speaker 1: all sorts of stuff needed to their name. In fact,
- 12:49Speaker 1: they're saying they can't find a BLM branch that did
- 12:52Speaker 1: not have a slush fund for its local leaders. So
- 12:55Speaker 1: you're going to see more and more people indicted. Remember
- 12:58Speaker 1: the smartest companies gave. Amazon gave one hundred and seventy million,
- 13:01Speaker 1: City Group pledged a billion dollars, Nike gave one hundred
- 13:05Speaker 1: and fifty million. Now, some of the money may have
- 13:08Speaker 1: been used responsibly, but they're saying most of it was scammed.
- 13:12Speaker 1: They're hunting these people down right now for prosecution, so
- 13:15Speaker 1: you may see a lot of that in the coming year. Hey,
- 13:18Speaker 1: this has been the bonus segment of the podcast. Thanks
- 13:21Speaker 1: for listening. I'm going to be off for the next
- 13:24Speaker 1: two weeks Christmas break. I'll be back after New Year's
- 13:28Speaker 1: Curtis will be filling in for me, so be listing
- 13:30Speaker 1: that should be interesting. Have a great holiday and great
- 13:33Speaker 1: talking to me. I'll see you next year.
