- 0:02Speaker 1: A wolf pack is not an accidental gathering of hunters.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack.
- 0:22Speaker 2: But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he
- 0:24Speaker 2: was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it
- 0:29Speaker 2: grew by one.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Wolfpack in the house!
- 0:48Speaker 1: It is the DFW The Wolfpack Podcast. Appreciate you listening
- 0:53Speaker 1: and thanks to those of you returning. This is episode
- 0:57Speaker 1: number six. The date is October 22nd. 2026. I am

- 1:14Speaker 4: are new to this podcast. We appreciate you, every single
- 1:17Speaker 4: one of you.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we'd also like to send a shout out to
- 1:21Speaker 1: all the haters out there. Speaking of the haters that
- 1:26Speaker 1: we know personally.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 1: If you would like to comment on the pod, you
- 1:32Speaker 1: can find us on our social media at Wolfpack DFW
- 1:35Speaker 1: for both Instagram and Twitter X. That's at Wolfpack DFW.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Or if social media isn't your kind of thing, you
- 1:43Speaker 1: can email us. Our email is WolfpackDFW1310 at gmail.com. That's
- 1:48Speaker 1: WolfpackDFW1310 at gmail.com. Yeah, people have been asking if we're
- 1:58Speaker 1: taking the week off or anything. Yeah, because... we normally
- 2:01Speaker 1: drop these around Tuesday or Wednesday. We once did it
- 2:05Speaker 1: on a, on a Friday. We're going to do it
- 2:06Speaker 1: on a Friday this time around too, because yeah, some
- 2:09Speaker 1: stuff came up that I just had to attend to that. Uh,
- 2:12Speaker 1: we had to, uh, thank, thank you brother for, uh,
- 2:15Speaker 1: moving your schedule around to accommodate.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Of course.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Not going to say what, what got into it, but
- 2:20Speaker 1: it just some stuff that I had to take care
- 2:21Speaker 1: of that, uh, came up with, um, you know, personal
- 2:25Speaker 1: family stuff, you know, things happen. Life happens.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:28Speaker 1: So yeah, I just appreciate you and, We'd like to
- 2:31Speaker 1: appreciate all the listeners because last episode we had 200,
- 2:38Speaker 1: over 200 downloads. Incredible. I could not believe it. I mean, dude,
- 2:47Speaker 1: that other podcast we used to do, the most we
- 2:50Speaker 1: would get was probably like 40. And we would do
- 2:53Speaker 1: it like what, once a month?
- 2:54Speaker 4: Yeah, probably once a month. I think that was because
- 2:57Speaker 4: we got on the radio on the one year anniversary
- 3:00Speaker 4: of of that podcast. So, yeah, I mean, it was.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we did 13 episodes, and we did 13 episodes,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and then we found out we were going to be
- 3:11Speaker 1: on the radio. We did the 14th. We kind of
- 3:13Speaker 1: teased it that something was coming. Yeah, and then we
- 3:20Speaker 1: got on the radio, and I remember the 14th episode
- 3:23Speaker 1: we did of that other podcast blew up. People, like,
- 3:26Speaker 1: went to go listen to it, and I think it
- 3:29Speaker 1: got to about.
- 3:31Speaker 1: A hundred downloads.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 1: And then we had, we did two radio shows and
- 3:37Speaker 1: we did another episode of the, our final episode of
- 3:40Speaker 1: that podcast in between, uh, the, the other radio, um,
- 3:44Speaker 1: shows we did. And that one ended up being like around,
- 3:48Speaker 1: I want to say 60, 70, somewhere around there. So yeah. So,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you know, we had one, uh, reach a hundred episode
- 3:57Speaker 1: for reached a hundred. And now we have, Well, episode
- 4:01Speaker 1: three reached 100, and now we have episode five reached 200. So, yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 1: I really appreciate all you people. Anything on the Instagram side?
- 4:09Speaker 4: No, but, oh, well, yes, but I wanted to give
- 4:12Speaker 4: a shout-out to that listener in Seattle. If you're listening
- 4:15Speaker 4: to this next episode right here, you know, shout me out.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Give us a DM or something. Let us know who
- 4:21Speaker 4: you are.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, or email us. Like I said, WolfpackDFW1310 at gmail.com.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Just want to hear from all you people how you
- 4:30Speaker 1: found us. Listen, I mean, like I said, Islamabad, Tel Aviv.
- 4:34Speaker 1: We got Coahuila.
- 4:35Speaker 4: I mean, you said Virginia.
- 4:37Speaker 1: We have Virginia, Colorado. Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Give us a shout out. Give us a shout on Instagram, Twitter, email, whatever.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Let us know who you are so we can shout
- 4:45Speaker 4: you out by name. Yeah. And, you know, we got
- 4:47Speaker 4: the usuals. Obviously, Jeff Fortese is the number one listener.
- 4:52Speaker 4: He sent me a.
- 4:57Speaker 4: DM. He sent us a DM on Instagram. He said,
- 5:00Speaker 4: good work on episode five. He said, we were on point.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Week seven, college football was predictive. NFC is a joke
- 5:06Speaker 4: that we already know. And, you know, he said he'll
- 5:11Speaker 4: hang up and listen.
- 5:12Speaker 1: He'll hang up and listen.
- 5:13Speaker 4: And then another thing I found out, I thought, listening
- 5:17Speaker 4: to Anthony Veloz, he's always liking our stuff on Instagram.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I saw who I thought was his sister at the fair.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I was like, oh, yeah, your brother's like, no. I
- 5:26Speaker 4: was like, what do you mean? He's like, Anthony Veloz
- 5:29Speaker 4: is like, no, that's my dad. I was like, oh, shit. Oh.
- 5:31Speaker 4: So he listens to the tickets, so that's how he
- 5:33Speaker 4: found us.
- 5:33Speaker 1: That's how he found us. Nice.
- 5:35Speaker 4: So he, because I was like, yeah, so we were on,
- 5:37Speaker 4: I don't know if she knew that we got on
- 5:38Speaker 4: the radio. Like, yeah, we were on the ticket. I
- 5:40Speaker 4: was like, she was like, oh, that's exactly how he
- 5:42Speaker 4: found out.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 4: So that's how he's listening for you. Wow.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Small world, man.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 1: There you go. There you go. Yeah, it's a wild ride, dude.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I mean, heard from one of our buddies on the,
- 5:54Speaker 1: from the ticket. He, um, he might join us on
- 5:57Speaker 1: the pod very soon because he's got some exciting news.
- 6:01Speaker 1: We'll probably get into that in the future. Uh, but yeah, it's, uh,
- 6:04Speaker 1: exciting times, man. Hopefully, uh, we'll get, uh, on the ticket.
- 6:10Speaker 4: These are really comfortable chairs. Yes.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Yes. We are in the new Wolfpack DFW studios, alternate,
- 6:17Speaker 1: the alternate studios. Yeah. We, we, uh, in Las Colinas
- 6:22Speaker 1: this time around, not in North Dallas. So, Yeah, it's
- 6:27Speaker 1: really nice, dude. I'm thinking about having a Christmas party here.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Maybe I can do a podcast.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like on Knocked Up, you know, when
- 6:37Speaker 4: they go to Las Vegas, it's like, look at all
- 6:39Speaker 4: these chairs. Dude, that was seven different chairs.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Seven different chairs, yeah. I need all these chairs. Yeah,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I wanted to throw a Christmas party last year, but
- 6:49Speaker 1: this timing didn't happen, and My wife was like, oh,
- 6:53Speaker 1: my people can't make it. So, like, okay, well. But
- 6:57Speaker 1: I think this year, I think we're going to try
- 6:58Speaker 1: to do one because this is really nice, man. Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 1: let's quarter. So big space. We got a pool table there.
- 7:04Speaker 1: You got a mini fridge there.
- 7:05Speaker 4: What's that called right there?
- 7:06Speaker 1: Shuffleboard.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Shuffleboard, yeah. Yeah. Used to play that a lot over
- 7:09Speaker 4: at the Time Out Tavern.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Close to Celebration. Yeah.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Well, I think this is a shuffleboard, right?
- 7:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it is.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Then you got the little sand on it or salt
- 7:17Speaker 4: or whatever it is.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah, shuffleboard. It says self-abort champion Richardson, Texas. I don't know.
- 7:23Speaker 1: We're not in Richardson, Texas.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Maybe that's why they bought it. Yeah, maybe. Maybe.
- 7:29Speaker 1: So we got a lot to catch up on. Hit
- 7:32Speaker 1: it and quit it. We'll talk about the stars. The
- 7:34Speaker 1: Mavs open. What a disappointing game that was. We'll get
- 7:40Speaker 1: into that. We'll also get into some boxing news. It
- 7:43Speaker 1: looks like the Canelo Alvarez saga is going to move
- 7:47Speaker 1: press forward. We'll get into that. MLB postseason is down
- 7:53Speaker 1: to two tomorrow night. The Milwaukee Brewers will host the
- 7:58Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Who would have thunk it at
- 8:00Speaker 1: the beginning of the year? I did pick it at
- 8:02Speaker 1: the beginning of the postseason just thinking that, ah, there's
- 8:04Speaker 1: no way it's going to happen. Yeah. But, yeah, it
- 8:06Speaker 1: did happen.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I mean, we knew that the Brewers were going to
- 8:10Speaker 4: be good. Yeah. And we knew the Rays were always good. Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 1: We just didn't think that they'd actually climb the mountain finally.
- 8:19Speaker 1: College football week seven chaos, bro. We have week seven chaos. Unbelievable,
- 8:24Speaker 1: including our longhorns. We'll also preview week eight. We'll do
- 8:29Speaker 1: NFL week six review, but let's begin with... Everybody have
- 8:35Speaker 1: a happy football! No, no, no, no, no. We're not
- 8:46Speaker 1: having a happy football. Not at all. Not at all,
- 8:51Speaker 1: my friend. What the hell happened in Lambeau, man?
- 8:55Speaker 4: Dude, I don't know what happened to the offense.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I felt bad for you because you were watching it
- 8:59Speaker 1: with a Packer fan.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Yeah, but I honestly, I said, I said, I am
- 9:04Speaker 4: not here. I'm not expecting the Cowboys to win. I'm
- 9:07Speaker 4: just here for the vibes. I want to see what's
- 9:09Speaker 4: going on. I'm not going to get pissed at anything.
- 9:11Speaker 4: I'm just going to watch the game and do it
- 9:13Speaker 4: for this. Be able to talk about it today. Because
- 9:17Speaker 4: I wasn't going to sit there. I wore my big
- 9:20Speaker 4: old hat. Oh, you did? Yeah, I wore that. And
- 9:23Speaker 4: a big old chain that Efra gave me for my
- 9:25Speaker 4: birthday one year. So I was decked out, but I
- 9:29Speaker 4: wasn't expecting anything. I mean, I'm loyal to this team,
- 9:32Speaker 4: so it's not going to happen.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 3: No, no.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I told my sister-in-law, I'm ride or die. This is it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I ain't changing teams. I'm not one of those fans
- 9:43Speaker 1: that changes teams. It is what it is.
- 9:44Speaker 4: You've been a Cowboys fan longer than me.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah. I've been a Cowboys fan since the 90s.
- 9:49Speaker 4: I became a Cowboys fan.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Since 1990. So, yeah. For me, born with it.
- 9:55Speaker 4: 40 years for me.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah. I've seen it all. So, might as well keep going.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not changing teams at this point in my life.
- 10:03Speaker 4: And I'm not going to stop watching football either way.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Because I'm not going to watch football just solely to
- 10:08Speaker 4: watch it.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I once told somebody that once you see all your
- 10:14Speaker 1: teams win, it's freaking bliss, man.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 1: They can't hurt you anymore. You saw them win. I
- 10:19Speaker 1: haven't seen the Cowboys win. You've never seen the Cowboys win?
- 10:21Speaker 4: I haven't seen the Stars win. I've seen the Mavs win.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you've seen the Mavs win. You've seen the Yankees win.
- 10:27Speaker 4: I've seen the Longhorns win. I've seen the Yankees win.
- 10:28Speaker 1: The Longhorns win, yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 4: And even my Mexican soccer team. I've seen the one
- 10:32Speaker 4: team that I grew up with. I've seen them win
- 10:35Speaker 4: since I was a kid probably like five times.
- 10:37Speaker 1: For me, like for you, Mexico winning the World Cup,
- 10:39Speaker 1: that'd be huge.
- 10:40Speaker 4: That'd be, yeah.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah, same thing for me for USA Hockey. Them winning
- 10:45Speaker 1: this past year like solidifies everything. I mean, I've seen
- 10:47Speaker 1: it all. I've seen it all, but yeah, this team, man,
- 10:51Speaker 1: is light years away from winning a championship.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, this team was... I mean, dude, I
- 10:58Speaker 4: don't know. It was.
- 10:59Speaker 1: What is up with our football teams not being able
- 11:01Speaker 1: to beat the Blitz, bro?
- 11:02Speaker 4: Dude, I don't know. I thought... And I texted you.
- 11:04Speaker 4: I was like, what happened to Dak? He was really
- 11:06Speaker 4: good against the Blitz. It was always like, oh, you're
- 11:09Speaker 4: going to Blitz? Dak is going to get rid of it.
- 11:11Speaker 4: He looks... He... I heard somebody say... I don't know
- 11:14Speaker 4: where I saw it, but you have the Eli dumbface...
- 11:19Speaker 4: and then they mention somebody else, and there's that Dak face.
- 11:22Speaker 4: You know what I'm talking about. That face that he
- 11:23Speaker 4: put with his mouth open, and that's the Dak face.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 4: You know what I'm talking about. He just keeps doing that,
- 11:29Speaker 4: and I'm like, dude, what is going on with you
- 11:30Speaker 4: guys back there?
- 11:32Speaker 1: Bro, it just amazes me.
- 11:34Speaker 4: I mean, the.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Rushing defense was better. Passing got shredded, but the game
- 11:42Speaker 1: was still there to be won, but the offense once again.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's it. No more Gotti. I don't want to hear
- 11:46Speaker 1: this Gotti talk ever again. I was telling somebody, the
- 11:50Speaker 1: freaking season was already doomed when they threw that out.
- 11:54Speaker 1: And I remember when they threw that out, I was like,
- 11:56Speaker 1: what are y'all doing? Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 4: You just put a target on your back.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 1: What are y'all doing? Just let it go.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Let it go.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Just don't say anything.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Rank those, what do you call it? A motto, a moniker,
- 12:06Speaker 4: whatever you may call it. Hot boys. What was the
- 12:10Speaker 4: other one? Carpet DM. That one that they put at
- 12:14Speaker 4: one time. Finish this fight and then got it.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Finish the fight.
- 12:18Speaker 4: And then they had all those commercials and stuff.
- 12:19Speaker 1: This one's the worst, dude. This one's the worst because
- 12:22Speaker 1: this one says you're the best. I hated the hot boys.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Because they didn't do shit that season.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Well, I remember... What was it? The first year with
- 12:32Speaker 1: Zeke and Dak was... That was... What do you call it?
- 12:36Speaker 4: 2016. Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that was... What was it called? It was called...
- 12:45Speaker 1: We Them Boys, yeah. That's when the song We Them
- 12:47Speaker 1: Boys came out.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Yeah, but that wasn't because of them.
- 12:50Speaker 1: No, no, no, but they called themselves We Them Boys
- 12:52Speaker 1: because I remember... I thought it was Hot Boys. No,
- 12:55Speaker 1: Hot Boys was afterwards with the Marks and Lawrence and everything,
- 12:58Speaker 1: but Dak and Zeke were calling themselves We Them Boys because.
- 13:02Speaker 4: 2016?
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because I remember OJ Beckham and them on the Giants,
- 13:08Speaker 1: they posted a picture on a boat or something a
- 13:11Speaker 1: week before the playoffs, and they was like, We Them Boys...
- 13:15Speaker 1: And Zeke told him, that's us, bum.
- 13:17Speaker 4: And then they hadn't won a game against Dallas ever
- 13:20Speaker 4: since that. There was a crazy stat on that.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 4: But, you know, I mean, this game, I don't know
- 13:26Speaker 4: what was going on. Caleb Downs, he looked beatable. But
- 13:31Speaker 4: he's not a quarterback.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Dude.
- 13:32Speaker 4: I get it.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Caleb Downs is giving me Roy Williams vibes.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Oh, not yet.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Roy Williams from OU, the 2003, well, was it 2002 draft?
- 13:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:45Speaker 1: That Roy Williams.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Oh, Roy Williams.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, the safety.
- 13:47Speaker 4: He played for a long time, though, for the Cavaliers. No, no, man.
- 13:50Speaker 1: He played like four years, and that was it. He
- 13:53Speaker 1: had one good year rookie. I believe he was defensive
- 13:56Speaker 1: rookie of the year. And then after that, he just
- 13:59Speaker 1: went downhill.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I mean, at this point, I don't think he's going
- 14:02Speaker 4: to work unless he just turns it up from here
- 14:04Speaker 4: on out.
- 14:05Speaker 1: And he's starting to give me Roy Williams because Roy
- 14:07Speaker 1: Williams was also, at the very end, he couldn't cover.
- 14:10Speaker 1: He was chasing people around. And I know it was
- 14:13Speaker 1: Matthew Golden, but Man, it just didn't look good for
- 14:16Speaker 1: our prized rookie to just not. Every time you see him,
- 14:20Speaker 1: he's chasing people. Yeah. And that just does not look good.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Jayshon Barham, to me, he's still out there. He's still
- 14:27Speaker 4: a good rookie. But, yeah, Quentin Williams got that sack.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Kenny Clark was good.
- 14:36Speaker 1: We got three sacks. We got an interception finally.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Finally. And then he goes down with whatever happened to
- 14:42Speaker 4: Dee Winters.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. But the so-called gaudy offense was just atrocious. It
- 14:47Speaker 1: should be waddy. Worst offense there is.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Well, I don't think– I think the offense still– I mean,
- 14:53Speaker 4: if you put it on average, I think it's still good.
- 14:55Speaker 4: It's still top of the league. Because even coming into
- 14:58Speaker 4: this game, they were– they had the second-best offense, scoring offense,
- 15:03Speaker 4: like averaging about 30 points. But that's what we were
- 15:07Speaker 4: counting for, like saying– Okay, this defense is terrible, but
- 15:10Speaker 4: the offense is going to score you 30, 35 points,
- 15:13Speaker 4: and we're going to be able to win this game.
- 15:14Speaker 4: But then, you know, back-to-back weeks when you can't even
- 15:16Speaker 4: score 20. Well, no, you scored 20 against Tampa, I think.
- 15:23Speaker 1: You scored 16 against Tampa. You scored 20 against Giants. Yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 1: you've had one good game.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Well, I mean, the Ravens was good. It was just
- 15:31Speaker 1: the ending sucked.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 1: You didn't capitalize on the ending. You didn't put it away.
- 15:35Speaker 4: But the highlight of the season was the Commanders game.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah, the Washington game, and that's it, and we got
- 15:41Speaker 1: seven points, man. Actually, they scored at the end, but yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 4: The running game is not happening, even though Javante Williams
- 15:49Speaker 4: has seven touchdowns, seven Russian touchdowns, second to only Josh Allen.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Josh Allen.
- 15:56Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 1: There's some notes, man, where I was like, man, George
- 16:04Speaker 1: Perkins looks disinterested.
- 16:05Speaker 4: He does.
- 16:06Speaker 1: He does. He looked disinterested. Did you notice the one
- 16:09Speaker 1: where Dak's calling the play in the huddle? He's already
- 16:13Speaker 1: walking away and so is Flanoy. But they're walking away
- 16:16Speaker 1: and going, what, what? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's walking away
- 16:20Speaker 1: in the huddle already. And I'm like, what are you doing?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Then I see him on his routes.
- 16:24Speaker 4: He gives up. Lazy, lazy routes. And now I think
- 16:30Speaker 4: from including myself from the offseason, it's like, oh, you
- 16:32Speaker 4: got to sign him. You got to keep him. whatever.
- 16:34Speaker 4: And I'm like, all right, he could be a trade
- 16:37Speaker 4: chip depending on how the team feels or how we're
- 16:41Speaker 4: doing by the time, you know, the trade deadline comes.
- 16:44Speaker 4: And if, if, if you're already done, if you say, okay,
- 16:48Speaker 4: we're giving up on it or you just want to
- 16:51Speaker 4: get rid of him. I was, I'm asking for a one, right?
- 16:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 4: You're asking for a one from him. So he's a chip.
- 16:59Speaker 4: So we'll see. We'll see how the team does from
- 17:01Speaker 4: here on out. And I texted you the other day
- 17:02Speaker 4: in the next, What next three games? We should be,
- 17:06Speaker 4: which is the Eagles, Cardinals, and Colts. We should be,
- 17:12Speaker 4: we should, five and four by that time. Are we
- 17:16Speaker 4: going to be five and four? Probably not.
- 17:19Speaker 1: It's so funny that we couldn't beat the Blitz, and
- 17:25Speaker 1: then when we Blitz, we got beat all day.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Jordan Love just.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Beat you every time you blitzed.
- 17:35Speaker 4: And this is the second week in a row that
- 17:38Speaker 4: the NFC East Coast win this.
- 17:41Speaker 1: They played each other in one of those weeks the
- 17:43Speaker 1: fact that this is not a good team and yet
- 17:46Speaker 1: they're still there and you have quarterback changes all around
- 17:53Speaker 1: the Eagles.
- 17:55Speaker 4: With a crazy crazy situation.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Crazy situation going on with Jalen Harris he's done for
- 18:00Speaker 1: the year he's out for the year so you got
- 18:05Speaker 1: who what's his name barton or whatever.
- 18:06Speaker 4: His name he something mckee.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Mckee and then you got joe milton now who got signed.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Yeah and it's uh yeah but saquon's coming.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Back saquon's coming back so hey they actually did good
- 18:22Speaker 1: on the rush defense man and marshall lloyd didn't do squat.
- 18:25Speaker 4: Yeah but but it's saquon I mean, he might go
- 18:29Speaker 4: for it. That line is a choice.
- 18:30Speaker 1: That offense, though, is really bad.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:32Speaker 1: No Devontae Smith.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Well, I think he is playing.
- 18:35Speaker 1: No, no, he's done. He's out.
- 18:37Speaker 4: He's out out?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Yeah. He's out. I saw Devontae Smith was out.
- 18:41Speaker 4: I have him on both my fantasy teams.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah, Devontae Smith, I heard, is out. He's not playing.
- 18:46Speaker 4: He was questionable. Last week, he had a touchdown. He
- 18:49Speaker 4: had like 75 yards and a touchdown.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Then he got hurt.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Okay, he's questionable.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard he's not playing. The... They're not even
- 18:58Speaker 1: considering playing him.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Okay, but he's questionable right now.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Yeah, he was not a participant in practice today.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Saquon's still questionable.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I heard Saquon is playing.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Yeah, he is.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think Devontae Smith's playing because he has
- 19:17Speaker 1: that hamstring.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Yeah. What's the score on the game right now? 10-7 Bears,
- 19:28Speaker 4: 10 minutes.
- 19:29Speaker 1: It's Patriots, yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 4: But, you know, I mean, I think we thought the
- 19:37Speaker 4: defense was a problem, but now back-to-back weeks with the
- 19:39Speaker 4: offense being the problem. I mean, you have the talent.
- 19:43Speaker 1: And so what's the deal? They started Spanford. He looked
- 19:47Speaker 1: pretty good. He did. He looked pretty good, igniting the
- 19:49Speaker 1: offense on the touchdown drive. But in the second half,
- 19:52Speaker 1: he didn't play much. He was all with Ferguson. And
- 19:55Speaker 1: I guess because they had to throw, I guess they
- 19:57Speaker 1: figured we're not running it where you have to throw
- 19:59Speaker 1: the ball, so might as well get a receiver out there.
- 20:01Speaker 4: This fucking colonizer is just going to keep hunting us.
- 20:06Speaker 1: So this is year 11 for Dak. Does he not–
- 20:09Speaker 1: change protection or audible because it looked like the blitz,
- 20:14Speaker 1: he knew the blitz was coming and nothing was being done.
- 20:18Speaker 1: He wasn't changing anything.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Dude, I don't know, but this quote by Braylon Edwards,
- 20:23Speaker 4: I don't know if you saw it. I'm pretty sure
- 20:24Speaker 4: you did. Where he said, watching the Dallas Cowboys struggle
- 20:28Speaker 4: two weeks in a row reminded me of why we
- 20:31Speaker 4: as Jets offense were terrible in back-to-back AFC championship games
- 20:35Speaker 4: in 2009 and 2010.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Oh, the Mark Sanchez ones?
- 20:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Mid offensive coordinator by the name of Brian Schottheimer. Brian Schottheimer, yeah.
- 20:45Speaker 1: And he had a bad quarterback in Mark Sanchez.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Bro, that is crazy. He just came in and said it.
- 20:50Speaker 4: I was like, all right then.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Dude, it's just this offense, man. There's so much things.
- 20:57Speaker 1: CeeDee falls down, leads to an interception.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that was terrible.
- 21:02Speaker 1: And then there's a third and five where he gets
- 21:05Speaker 1: it to CeeDee, and instead of pushing forward, CD starts
- 21:09Speaker 1: going backwards, goes spinning around, and then goes down, and
- 21:12Speaker 1: it's fourth and five. He caught it. He could have
- 21:16Speaker 1: got some yards. He could have made it a fourth
- 21:18Speaker 1: and two, fourth and one, and instead he goes backwards
- 21:21Speaker 1: and just goes around.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I get what you did in college, and you
- 21:24Speaker 4: were known for that, especially because he did it too,
- 21:27Speaker 4: our Longhorns. But just run your route. Go forward. I
- 21:31Speaker 4: don't understand some of these players. Instead of going forward
- 21:34Speaker 4: to get a first down, They just start running around,
- 21:37Speaker 4: trying to cut back and do this cute little thing.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Just go forward, dude.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I just don't understand it, how they're like, catch it,
- 21:46Speaker 1: go backwards. And, you know, I saw somebody else, I
- 21:49Speaker 1: think it was, who was it who caught it, got
- 21:52Speaker 1: the first down, but then went backwards and then got tackled.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I can't remember what game it was. I think it
- 21:57Speaker 1: was the Monday night game, actually, that I saw that happened.
- 22:00Speaker 1: And I was like, what are these?
- 22:03Speaker 4: Against the Rams and.
- 22:04Speaker 1: No, it was the 49ers in Washington.
- 22:06Speaker 4: I didn't even watch that.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that was something. And I was like, man,
- 22:10Speaker 1: what is that? Because, like, CD's still doing that. And,
- 22:15Speaker 1: you know, George Perkins does that a lot. And a
- 22:16Speaker 1: lot of these receivers do that, and I hate that.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Yeah. And the 49ers look unbeatable right now.
- 22:23Speaker 1: All right, man. Division's up. Up for it. You know,
- 22:27Speaker 1: we got Monday night football game against the Eagles in Philadelphia.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Do they win in Philadelphia?
- 22:33Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm going to pick the Cowboys to lose every
- 22:35Speaker 4: single week until they actually win.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I'm actually going to pick them to win because I
- 22:39Speaker 1: think the Eagles are in a bad way. I think
- 22:42Speaker 1: they're in a bad way. Now, if they make this
- 22:45Speaker 1: quarterback look like an all-pro, then the season's over.
- 22:50Speaker 4: I mean, you already made Jalen Daniels, Tampa Bay Jalen Daniels,
- 22:54Speaker 4: look like an all-pro.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Jalen Daniels actually looked pretty good against the Steelers. He
- 22:57Speaker 1: had some moments. He threw some picks, but he actually
- 23:00Speaker 1: looked okay. And I was like, okay, but they did
- 23:04Speaker 1: get some picks on him. But, yeah, this quarterback, this
- 23:08Speaker 1: backup quarterback for the Eagles gets them rolling, gets them
- 23:13Speaker 1: a victory, then, yeah, this team is done.
- 23:15Speaker 4: I think for me it's if you make Makai Lemon
- 23:20Speaker 4: look like an all-pro receiver, like prime freaking Deshaun Jackson
- 23:25Speaker 4: type shit like that, then I'm like, all right, just
- 23:29Speaker 4: pack it up. Even though, you know, you got the
- 23:32Speaker 4: injury report, Kobe Durant was practicing. The Marvin Overshot apparently
- 23:36Speaker 4: is full practice, which I don't think that's going to
- 23:38Speaker 4: change anything. I am more excited about Kobe Durant coming
- 23:42Speaker 4: and taking some snaps from Durant Bland. But that leaves
- 23:46Speaker 4: Savon Revo kind of like, although he was good in coverage, though.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Savon Revo looked good in coverage.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Tanner McKee from Stanford.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's the quarterback's name. He went 26 of 45. God,
- 24:02Speaker 1: he passed for 45 attempts. Unbelievable. 215 yards and 45
- 24:10Speaker 1: attempts against the Panthers in the 25-14 loss. Yeah, dude,
- 24:19Speaker 1: he looks good.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Wait, they didn't play the Panthers this week.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they did last week.
- 24:24Speaker 4: But this week they won, right? No, they lost. No,
- 24:25Speaker 4: they lost.
- 24:26Speaker 1: They lost, yeah. No, you're talking about the London game
- 24:28Speaker 1: before that with the whole Jalen Hurts thing.
- 24:30Speaker 4: Oh, the Panthers. I thought you said the Jaguars. My bad.
- 24:32Speaker 1: No, no, no, the Panthers. Yeah, man, I just, if
- 24:37Speaker 1: that guy looks like an all-pro again, if this team
- 24:40Speaker 1: makes another quarterback, unknown quarterback, look like an all-pro, you
- 24:46Speaker 1: just got to call it what it is. This is
- 24:48Speaker 1: not a good team, and there's no chance, I mean,
- 24:52Speaker 1: Right now, this division is what the South was last year,
- 24:55Speaker 1: where the Buccaneers won it by default.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you know?
- 24:59Speaker 4: Did you see the play selection after the Javante Williams touchdown?
- 25:08Speaker 4: They went 38th place, 37th pass place. 37 out of
- 25:15Speaker 4: 38 pass place. Why? Are you not trusting Javante Williams?
- 25:19Speaker 4: Did you pay? Obviously, you got him for the cheap, but...
- 25:22Speaker 4: Why are you not trusting him?
- 25:25Speaker 1: Don't know, man.
- 25:27Speaker 4: 37 passes out of 38 after your running back scored.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And apparently they've told when they're going pass heavy, they've
- 25:35Speaker 1: already told him Goodson's going to be in. Because they
- 25:38Speaker 1: feel he's a better receiver. He's a better receiver than
- 25:41Speaker 1: Javante is.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I mean, I don't disagree. I don't think Javante Williams
- 25:44Speaker 4: is a great pass catcher. Because he's a bruising running back.
- 25:49Speaker 1: You're telegraphing there by Having Goodson in that you're going
- 25:53Speaker 1: to be more pass than you are run. And I
- 25:56Speaker 1: think you at least have to.
- 25:58Speaker 4: They already know. You're kind of tipping your pitches.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you at least got to have the threat of, hey,
- 26:06Speaker 1: I'm going to run. You don't know if I'm going
- 26:08Speaker 1: to run or pass. Play action. You have to have that.
- 26:12Speaker 1: And I don't think they have it, man. Dude, Shoddy, man,
- 26:17Speaker 1: if he has another... He's supposed to be this offensive innovator. Look,
- 26:21Speaker 1: they had stinkers last year. They had the Chargers game.
- 26:24Speaker 1: They had the Cardinals game. But they were putting up
- 26:27Speaker 1: a bunch of points.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Now they're not.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Is it time for him to give up the play calling?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Give it to Klay Adams? I mean, I'd try anything
- 26:38Speaker 1: at this point. It ain't working. All those colored highlighters
- 26:42Speaker 1: he has aren't working.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Because I think Klay Adams is actually pretty good. play
- 26:48Speaker 4: caller yeah but it's just just give it up dude
- 26:52Speaker 4: it's the same thing that's going down in austin.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yeah same thing we'll get to that a little bit later.
- 26:58Speaker 4: But yeah i mean i'm gonna pick the eagles 24
- 27:00Speaker 4: 17 i don't think the defense gets it done and
- 27:03Speaker 4: i don't think the offense gets it done they got
- 27:05Speaker 4: to show me they can score 30 if you score
- 27:07Speaker 4: 30 again then yeah but right now.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Nah yeah i i feel the same way that i
- 27:13Speaker 1: i'm predicting them to win but it's going to be
- 27:15Speaker 1: a close game Just because, you know.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Sloppy win.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, sloppy win. But it's going to be like–
- 27:21Speaker 1: remember that win, was it last year or the year
- 27:24Speaker 1: before that, the Pittsburgh win? Yeah. Yeah, where they got
- 27:28Speaker 1: delayed because of rain and this and this thunder. Yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 1: because I think because of that, I think it'll be
- 27:34Speaker 1: that type of game where they'll win it at the end. What,
- 27:37Speaker 1: Flanoy caught the game winner, didn't he?
- 27:39Speaker 4: I think so. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:41Speaker 1: It'll be that kind of game, I believe. I really
- 27:43Speaker 1: believe that. I just don't see– Now, if they go
- 27:47Speaker 1: in there and blow them out, then we're like, okay.
- 27:50Speaker 4: We're back. Yeah, at this point, do you.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I think at this point, you have to win all
- 27:56Speaker 1: your divisional games.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Yeah, you can't lose any of them.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Because, I mean, you're Green Bay, you've lost to Tampa,
- 28:02Speaker 1: you lost to the Ravens already. You've got to win
- 28:05Speaker 1: all your divisional games.
- 28:07Speaker 4: At this point, do you... If the trade deadline was tomorrow,
- 28:14Speaker 4: are you a buyer or a seller?
- 28:18Speaker 1: Jerry's never selling. Jerry's never selling.
- 28:21Speaker 4: No, but I'm asking you.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Oh, I mean, here's the thing. As long as the division's,
- 28:29Speaker 1: you've got to get in.
- 28:31Speaker 4: As long as it's up for grabs.
- 28:32Speaker 1: It's up for grabs, you've got to get in. I mean,
- 28:35Speaker 1: I know the Eagles are pretty much calling it quits
- 28:38Speaker 1: with all their moves they're doing, but the division, I mean,
- 28:45Speaker 1: you've got to sell tickets.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 1: You got to give fans hope, I guess.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Dude, but with this team, it doesn't matter, though. With
- 28:53Speaker 4: this team, it doesn't matter. People are going to pay
- 28:57Speaker 4: that money, and they're going to go to Jerry World,
- 28:59Speaker 4: and they're going to watch the game.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:01Speaker 4: That's what that is. Now, if it was... Obviously, the
- 29:04Speaker 4: stadium and Jerry have priced the real fans like me
- 29:07Speaker 4: and you. You know, the real diehards, they've got to
- 29:09Speaker 4: price them out of that shit. Let's be honest. Fucking
- 29:12Speaker 4: game costs like motherfucking. And that's not only getting the seeds,
- 29:15Speaker 4: but it's getting... drinks, getting food, getting everything. Yeah.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Dude, on the secondary market, those party passes are 90 bucks.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Dude, that was crazy. I remember when he was getting
- 29:23Speaker 4: for 20 bucks. That's how I was able to go
- 29:26Speaker 4: all those years. When it first opened, started going Thanksgiving
- 29:31Speaker 4: every year for like four years straight. Party passes, whatever,
- 29:34Speaker 4: there were 20 bucks and then i have money just
- 29:36Speaker 4: to you know buy a beer buy well not a
- 29:39Speaker 4: beer but buy a few beers and shit so yeah
- 29:42Speaker 4: and parking wasn't that bad at that time we used
- 29:45Speaker 4: to park at cc's across the street yeah i remember
- 29:49Speaker 4: like 75 bucks.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Dude i remember when 2018 i went to the uh
- 29:54Speaker 1: the the big 12 championship which was texas and oklahoma
- 29:59Speaker 1: And I told my brother, like, all right, Brian, we
- 30:02Speaker 1: got there. It took us a long time to get in.
- 30:05Speaker 1: We get in. We missed about the first nine minutes
- 30:10Speaker 1: of the game. And I sit down, like, all right, man,
- 30:12Speaker 1: I'm thirsty. I'll go get us some beer. And you
- 30:16Speaker 1: remember that scene in She's Out of My League where
- 30:18Speaker 1: the guy goes, all right.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Takes out a 20. Give me four beers. And the
- 30:22Speaker 1: guy goes, no.
- 30:23Speaker 4: Three? Three beers, no.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Two?
- 30:24Speaker 1: Two?
- 30:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:26Speaker 4: So.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I took out a 20. I said, hey, give me
- 30:28Speaker 1: two beers. I'll take out a 20. And the guy says,
- 30:31Speaker 1: that'd be $ 24. I'm like, oh, shit. Take out more money.
- 30:35Speaker 1: And that's when I was like, yeah, like, I'm not, like,
- 30:38Speaker 1: a special occasion game, like a big 12 championship game,
- 30:40Speaker 1: something like that. But, like, going every week to the
- 30:43Speaker 1: Cowboys game, like, you've got to have some cash on
- 30:46Speaker 1: you to spend all the time.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Yeah, so, to your point, I don't think that's going
- 30:50Speaker 4: to keep the fans from going. Because, as high as
- 30:55Speaker 4: the prices are, Some people may be like, you know what,
- 30:58Speaker 4: I've been saving this the whole year for season start,
- 31:01Speaker 4: and I'm not going to miss it. Whether they're losing
- 31:03Speaker 4: or not, I'm not going to be like, oh, because
- 31:04Speaker 4: that might be the only time they get to go
- 31:06Speaker 4: in the next three, four years or whatever.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I get it going once, but the people
- 31:11Speaker 1: go constantly every week.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Like, God. That's just all the people that have money, dude.
- 31:17Speaker 4: All those in the bottom, all the suites. I mean,
- 31:20Speaker 4: they're not there for the game. They're there just because.
- 31:22Speaker 1: For the atmosphere, for the vibes, yeah.
- 31:25Speaker 4: That's why there's no noise when the opposing defense is on,
- 31:30Speaker 4: when the opposing offense is on the field. I mean,
- 31:33Speaker 4: it's just fucking circus out there. Yeah. Wolfpack listeners, we

- 32:20Speaker 1: Let's get to the rest of the NFL. So we
- 32:23Speaker 1: mentioned that the NFC East went winless. The Eagles offensive line,
- 32:30Speaker 1: offense sucks. They lose to the Panthers 25-14. The Giants
- 32:41Speaker 1: were losing big time to the Saints. They made a
- 32:45Speaker 1: change of quarterback and J.J. McCarthy, the new Giants quarterback,
- 32:51Speaker 1: he kind of brought them all the way back and
- 32:54Speaker 1: almost brought them back And it's no surprise, he's now
- 33:01Speaker 1: the quarterback of the Giants going forward.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Jameis is who he is, man.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Jameis is a great person and a dude.
- 33:08Speaker 1: He's a fun guy.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Yeah, he's always going to be Jameis.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I don't know how that guy still has a job
- 33:14Speaker 1: in the NFL, though.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Yeah, because I think he has a great future in
- 33:18Speaker 4: broadcasting and all that stuff. Opening day in baseball, he
- 33:22Speaker 4: was at the Yankees Giants, and he did the whole
- 33:26Speaker 4: thing with the hot dog cart and all that stuff.
- 33:29Speaker 4: So he has a bright future.
- 33:30Speaker 1: He's a fun mascot, man, but he's just a terrible quarterback.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I have no idea why he's still there.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Eating W's and all that?
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, eating the W thing. That's really crazy.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I was watching that game, actually, and the Saints
- 33:45Speaker 4: offense looked stagnant for a bit. I think they weren't
- 33:46Speaker 4: doing nothing, and then all of a sudden, they just
- 33:48Speaker 4: turned it up, and they just go up. And they
- 33:51Speaker 4: never give up.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Nope. The Chiefs are 5-0. Man, Kenneth Walker. I cannot
- 33:59Speaker 1: believe he has made that much of a difference.
- 34:02Speaker 4: One player, dude.
- 34:03Speaker 1: One player has made that much of a difference. He's
- 34:06Speaker 1: the MVP right now. He's the Offensive Player of the Year.
- 34:10Speaker 1: 665 rushing yards, 6 TDs.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Dude, we talked about JSN, how he's the Seattle's whole offense.
- 34:19Speaker 4: And I don't think kenneth walker's uh the chief's whole
- 34:23Speaker 4: offense but he's the main guy and i don't.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Know if you notice xavier worthy starting to play good
- 34:30Speaker 1: he had seven catches the other.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Day i played him on fantasy and he got he
- 34:34Speaker 4: got me some points i was able to win.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yeah and i was like oh man like seven he
- 34:37Speaker 1: had seven catches for 70 yards and i saw some
- 34:40Speaker 1: of the game and watching him catch like oh man
- 34:42Speaker 1: he He's doing crossing routes just like he did at Texas.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, okay. There he is.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Yeah, his career is starting to get a little closer.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Hopefully they figured that out. But, yeah, the Kenneth Walker, man,
- 34:54Speaker 1: the addition that they made, unbelievable the difference that makes.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Yeah, it's great that a running back. I mean, you
- 35:01Speaker 4: always talk about running backs are like they're good four
- 35:05Speaker 4: to five years after the rookie, and then you have
- 35:08Speaker 4: to overpay. You see Saquon, those type of guys. And
- 35:12Speaker 4: they're not going to perform like they used to.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I thought he was a good running back. I didn't
- 35:16Speaker 1: think he was a great running back. I thought he
- 35:17Speaker 1: was more of the system Seattle ran. Because Charbonnet runs
- 35:20Speaker 1: there too. But yeah, this here, man, is just unbelievable
- 35:25Speaker 1: the turnaround that the Chiefs have made.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Dude, I have one of my fantasy leagues. Dude has,
- 35:30Speaker 4: and I don't know how he got it. He has
- 35:32Speaker 4: Kenneth Walker and B. John Robbins. So the dude is 6-0.
- 35:38Speaker 4: He's just obliterating everybody.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Speaking of B.
- 35:42Speaker 4: John.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Caleb Williams returns for the Bears. They beat the Falcons,
- 35:47Speaker 1: beat them down. Bijan was holding to only 70 total yards, man.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Yeah, well, you're going to have those games. I still
- 35:54Speaker 4: think that.
- 35:54Speaker 1: He's... Pennix looked bad. It's game to game with Pennix.
- 35:59Speaker 4: Didn't the Falcons sign a veteran quarterback?
- 36:05Speaker 1: They got Tua and Rush. No, no, no.
- 36:07Speaker 4: They had... Or somebody signed a veteran quarterback. Like, they
- 36:10Speaker 4: brought him out of retirement. I forgot who it was.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Oh, wasn't it the Eagles with Andy Dalton?
- 36:16Speaker 4: Andy Dalton, yeah.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it was the Eagles with Andy Dalton.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Stars are tied 1-1.
- 36:24Speaker 1: The Titans finally win. Cam Ward has 102 yards passing.
- 36:30Speaker 1: They had one touchdown. He had one touchdown pass. They
- 36:34Speaker 1: had four field goals and a block punt return for TD.
- 36:38Speaker 1: That's how they beat the Colts.
- 36:40Speaker 4: But the Colts are a terrible team, too. They need
- 36:42Speaker 4: to start selling. I think they need to start teams
- 36:48Speaker 4: or they need to start calling teams about Jonathan Taylor.
- 36:51Speaker 1: How crazy is the new owner, the Ursae daughter?
- 36:54Speaker 4: I feel like she's making a difference.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yeah, she's on the sideline with a headset on, listening
- 37:00Speaker 1: to everything right down notes.
- 37:03Speaker 4: But I think it's more of a like, I want
- 37:04Speaker 4: to know how this thing works. And I think that's
- 37:06Speaker 4: making a difference in noticing what is going on. And
- 37:10Speaker 4: I think Nicole should be seller and Jonathan Taylor should
- 37:12Speaker 4: be centerpiece and get You get a first-round pick for
- 37:15Speaker 4: John Taylor.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:18Speaker 4: I mean, I know Alec Pierce has heard, you know,
- 37:22Speaker 4: but yeah. Yeah, sell, sell, sell, sell for the Colts.
- 37:26Speaker 4: And I wouldn't be surprised if they beat us in
- 37:28Speaker 4: three weeks.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Boy, they are problems in L.A. The Chargers are 0-6,
- 37:36Speaker 1: and the Cardinals stunned the Rams. The Rams may not
- 37:40Speaker 1: make the playoffs. They got five losses already.
- 37:43Speaker 4: They're 2-5. Yeah. And Puka Nakua got hurt today. 2-4.
- 37:49Speaker 4: And Puka Nakua got hurt today.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they're 2-4. He left practice with a hamstring. Oh,
- 37:54Speaker 1: did he? Devontae Adams is out for some time with
- 37:58Speaker 1: a hamstring injury.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Yeah, dude. I don't know what they're going to do
- 38:00Speaker 4: at receiver now.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Dude, it's all falling apart. Miles Garrett's not playing. They
- 38:06Speaker 1: might just shut down Miles Garrett and say, hey, why
- 38:08Speaker 1: bother playing? Yeah. They can't afford to lose anymore.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Why the fuck did we bring in fucking Aaron Donald back?
- 38:14Speaker 4: Aaron Donald's right now. I was like, man, I could
- 38:16Speaker 4: have been on my fucking couch watching this stupid-ass game,
- 38:19Speaker 4: and I'm over here just bruising and hurting and sore
- 38:23Speaker 4: every fucking week. I still think they're a really good team.
- 38:27Speaker 1: They're a really good team. They've got a stretch coming up,
- 38:29Speaker 1: but they're 2-4. They're just like us, 2-4.
- 38:30Speaker 4: Kyron Williams and Blake Corham, they're good players. They're a
- 38:36Speaker 4: good duo on the backfield. Because Blake Corham, he can play.
- 38:40Speaker 4: He doesn't get the chance as much as, you know,
- 38:41Speaker 4: Williams does. But I still think they're a good team.
- 38:45Speaker 4: And if there's Puka Nakua injuries, not serious.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Dude, but they were the favorite.
- 38:50Speaker 4: They were.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Vegas favorite.
- 38:50Speaker 4: I mean, we talked about it on the radio.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Yeah, they were the Vegas favorite for all offseason. Everybody said, yeah.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Cam was like, he was like, yeah.
- 38:57Speaker 3: He knew the odds.
- 38:58Speaker 1: He's like, yeah. Undoubtedly, dude, whoever bet money on them,
- 39:03Speaker 1: They're losing it all.
- 39:04Speaker 4: They're hoping right now that they find a way. They're
- 39:09Speaker 4: going to have to trade for a receiver maybe.
- 39:12Speaker 1: So they've got 11 games left. Yeah. They've got 11
- 39:15Speaker 1: games left.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Four losses already.
- 39:17Speaker 1: And four losses already. So basically, to make it, I
- 39:21Speaker 1: think they can only lose two more games. They've got
- 39:23Speaker 1: to go 9-2. In the West, yeah. They've got to
- 39:25Speaker 1: do a 9-2 just to get a wild card.
- 39:27Speaker 4: And that would be, what, 11-6?
- 39:28Speaker 1: Yeah. That's what I'm saying. If you go 10-7, I
- 39:32Speaker 1: don't know if you make it. And plus, you've already
- 39:37Speaker 1: lost some games too. You lost to the Seahawks. So, yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Did they lose to the Seahawks? No, I forgot who
- 39:44Speaker 1: they lost to. They beat the.
- 39:48Speaker 1: They beat the Eagles.
- 39:49Speaker 4: I know that.
- 39:52Speaker 1: But the fact that they lost to the Cardinals, man,
- 39:54Speaker 1: that's unbelievable to me. They lost to the Cardinals, and
- 40:00Speaker 1: they only scored 16. This whole thing about this is
- 40:03Speaker 1: the greatest team ever assembled. They're going to run away
- 40:07Speaker 1: with it. And, you know, that's what Herm Edwards always said.
- 40:11Speaker 1: That's why you play the game. They have a bye
- 40:13Speaker 1: this week, so they can't lose a bye.
- 40:16Speaker 4: They're bottom of the NFC West right now.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Yeah, they're at the bottom because they just lost to
- 40:20Speaker 1: the Cardinals.
- 40:20Speaker 4: You're not going to get the wild card with Seattle.
- 40:22Speaker 4: I mean, Seattle, I think that they're not this, you know,
- 40:29Speaker 4: they're the defending champs, but they're not the Saints.
- 40:31Speaker 1: So they beat the Saints and they beat the Chargers. Oh, no,
- 40:35Speaker 1: that was pretty soon. They lost. They beat the Giants.
- 40:40Speaker 1: And they've beaten the Eagles. Those are the only two
- 40:42Speaker 1: games they've been.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Two of the teams in the worst division of football? Yeah.
- 40:46Speaker 1: So they've lost already two divisional games to the Cardinals
- 40:49Speaker 1: and to the 49ers. They lost to the Broncos. They
- 40:52Speaker 1: lost to the Bills.
- 40:53Speaker 4: That Broncos game was closer than.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Now, they got the Raiders. Dude, if they lose in
- 40:57Speaker 1: two weeks to the Raiders... No, we got to... We're.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Cheering for the Rams in that one. So that way
- 41:02Speaker 4: we can get closer to Max Cross.
- 41:04Speaker 1: And then they have the Battle of L.A. on November
- 41:07Speaker 1: 1st with the Chargers. So they got a favorable schedule.
- 41:12Speaker 1: They got the Raiders, the Chargers, and the Commanders, and
- 41:16Speaker 1: then they play the Cardinals again, but this time in Arizona.
- 41:18Speaker 4: When do the Chargers give up on Gilbert? Herbert?
- 41:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they gave up a big extension, and I mean,
- 41:26Speaker 1: I saw a mock draft already where they're number one,
- 41:29Speaker 1: and they're taking Jeremiah Smith, which I know that's the thing,
- 41:32Speaker 1: but and Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh, I mean, there's a huge
- 41:38Speaker 1: amount of payday, like I read a story the other
- 41:41Speaker 1: day because they were saying with the Chargers being 0-6,
- 41:44Speaker 1: would Harbaugh go back to college? But apparently because of
- 41:51Speaker 1: the whole cheating scandal that they had over there.
- 41:55Speaker 4: Oh, he won't?
- 41:56Speaker 1: Yeah. If he comes back, he'll immediately be suspended. Apparently
- 41:59Speaker 1: that's the word. So, yeah, I don't see that happening.
- 42:07Speaker 1: The Bills barely beat the Raiders, bro. Man, the Raiders
- 42:10Speaker 1: are playing people tough.
- 42:12Speaker 4: They are.
- 42:12Speaker 1: They're not losing these games. They're barely losing these games.
- 42:16Speaker 1: They lost to the Chiefs. Now, the Patriots did blow
- 42:18Speaker 1: them out in New England. But, you know, they're playing tough, man.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Does that say more about the Raiders or the Bills?
- 42:28Speaker 1: I don't know, man. I don't know what's... The.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Bills, to me, are just... I don't know. They always
- 42:35Speaker 4: just come up short. I think we hype them up
- 42:37Speaker 4: every single year because of Josh Allen, but... They don't
- 42:40Speaker 4: have a receiver, dude. They had D.J. Moore, and D.J.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Moore has been hurt. Yeah, he's been hurt.
- 42:46Speaker 4: You had Khalil. What's his name? Yeah, Khalil. And then
- 42:51Speaker 4: you got Keon Coleman, who hasn't lived up to anything.
- 42:54Speaker 4: So the only good player to me that you have
- 42:57Speaker 4: in the offense is James Cook.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Yeah, who has fumbling issues.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's why Josh Allen has seven or eight
- 43:07Speaker 4: touchdowns rushing. So there you go.
- 43:11Speaker 1: The Broncos topped Seattle in overtime last Thursday, man.
- 43:14Speaker 4: That was a good game.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Man, what is up with Darnold?
- 43:18Speaker 4: It's Darnold, dude.
- 43:19Speaker 1: He's throwing big picks now. I mean, there's kind of
- 43:23Speaker 1: whispers over there like, hey, man, Drew Locke was playing
- 43:25Speaker 1: pretty good.
- 43:26Speaker 4: He was. He was playing really good. I was surprised
- 43:29Speaker 4: that when he went down that game, I was watching that,
- 43:33Speaker 4: and he played well. We thought, oh, there he goes.
- 43:36Speaker 4: The Seahawks are going to lose the game. I think
- 43:38Speaker 4: they lost anyway. No, they actually won that game. So, yeah.
- 43:43Speaker 4: But it's Sam Darnold. I mean, we knew Sam Darnold
- 43:46Speaker 4: coming into the league with the Jets. And, yes, it
- 43:47Speaker 4: was the Jets. But, you know, he came over here
- 43:51Speaker 4: and we're like, oh, when's the Super Bowl? And that
- 43:54Speaker 4: might be his career highlight right there, which is not bad.
- 43:58Speaker 4: Don't get me wrong. You know, you go and you
- 44:01Speaker 4: come from all these teams and then all of a
- 44:04Speaker 4: sudden you win. And with the Vikings, he was actually
- 44:06Speaker 4: playing decent before he went to the Seahawks, right?
- 44:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Yeah, he led them to the playoffs, and now after
- 44:14Speaker 1: last season, everybody says that, man, now that they traded
- 44:17Speaker 1: away J.J. McCarthy, they're like, maybe they should have kept
- 44:19Speaker 1: Sam Darnall.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Because they were going to trade away J.J. McCarthy anyway.
- 44:23Speaker 1: That's what happened, and now you're stuck with Kyler and Wentz.
- 44:27Speaker 1: You don't have any future.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I think Kyler could have had a
- 44:31Speaker 4: really good career, but he's just not into it. He's
- 44:34Speaker 4: just not into football as much as he should be.
- 44:39Speaker 1: The weather changed over the weekend, going from 90-plus degree
- 44:42Speaker 1: weather to high 40s and low 50s. Overnight can do
- 44:46Speaker 1: some work on your vehicle, be it tire issues, battery issues,
- 44:49Speaker 1: or something basic like windshield wipers. We recommend American Auto Masters.
- 44:54Speaker 1: American Auto Masters do complete automotive service, and they are

- 45:22Speaker 1: That's 972-438-8859. Tell them Rene DeLeon sent you American Auto
- 45:24Speaker 1: Masters Serving DFW since 1985. Let's get to it now.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Week 7 of college football. Chaos, man. There was chaos.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Let's start in Austin. It's not good there either. And
- 45:58Speaker 1: it's not good to the point where people are calling
- 46:01Speaker 1: for heads and there's already reports out there that boosters
- 46:06Speaker 1: and Regents have met, have started discussing, if this season
- 46:14Speaker 1: does not go well, we already got two losses, if
- 46:18Speaker 1: they do not make the playoffs, do they buy out Sark?
- 46:23Speaker 1: There's already talk about that. I've seen it all over
- 46:26Speaker 1: the place. There's already been discussions with boosters and Regents.
- 46:29Speaker 4: Well, the only difference between the Longhorns and the Cowboys
- 46:35Speaker 4: in the past two weeks is that The Longhorns had
- 46:39Speaker 4: those games, and they lost them.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Yeah, they were in those games.
- 46:43Speaker 4: They were 17-3 against Florida.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Dude, I do not understand what the hell Sarks. I
- 46:50Speaker 1: told you, he makes some bad decisions. Why would you
- 46:53Speaker 1: go for it? You had fourth and one. That's a
- 46:59Speaker 1: 50 at midfield with 250 left. You don't need to
- 47:03Speaker 1: go for it. You're up 17-3. Put it away. Put
- 47:06Speaker 1: them in the. Put them all the way back. Make
- 47:08Speaker 1: them drive the field if they're going to score. Make
- 47:10Speaker 1: them drive the field. Don't give them a short field.
- 47:12Speaker 1: What happens? Okay, they're going to go for it. All right,
- 47:15Speaker 1: let's see what innovative play Sark calls. Hike, turn around,
- 47:20Speaker 1: give it to Smothers. Stuffed.
- 47:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't get to watch that game. I was
- 47:24Speaker 4: at the fair because my niece was in town from college, though.
- 47:28Speaker 4: But I caught kind of like the last quarter. But
- 47:32Speaker 4: that's another fourth down play that he messed up.
- 47:34Speaker 1: And then there was another third and one. On their
- 47:37Speaker 1: own 34, and you're thinking 31, okay. Same play. It
- 47:42Speaker 1: was the exact same play. It went for a three-yard loss.
- 47:45Speaker 1: They had to punt it away, and that's when Florida
- 47:52Speaker 1: had just tied it, made it 17-17 all. You go
- 47:56Speaker 1: three and out quickly.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Okay, I know we're talking about sark and stuff, but
- 48:02Speaker 4: at what point does it become arch? At what point
- 48:06Speaker 4: are we talking about? He's not good.
- 48:08Speaker 1: There's some things, but everything that I've seen, like I've
- 48:10Speaker 1: seen Joe Klatt, I've seen Ryan Russillo, I've seen people
- 48:13Speaker 1: break down this film. They're saying, yeah, Arch is not
- 48:17Speaker 1: seeing some stuff, but overall, it's the offense. The offense
- 48:21Speaker 1: isn't good. The play calling, they don't know what's going on.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Why can't he audible?
- 48:26Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 48:27Speaker 4: What is the problem there? Why can't he audible?
- 48:28Speaker 1: Well, a couple weeks ago, he was asked by one
- 48:32Speaker 1: of the Longhorn reporters to do you have the ability
- 48:38Speaker 1: to check out and change the play? And Arch said,
- 48:41Speaker 1: kind of laughed, giggled, and said, I call the play
- 48:45Speaker 1: that I've been told to run. So obviously he doesn't.
- 48:51Speaker 4: That's an issue right there.
- 48:52Speaker 1: And dude, and Sark is being a little bitch with
- 48:56Speaker 1: the media. Every time something, this and that, this and that.
- 49:00Speaker 1: And like somebody asked him after the game, Because they said,
- 49:04Speaker 1: are you evaluating even play calling? I said, I'm evaluating everything.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Because he said, we're going to evaluate everything. We're going
- 49:10Speaker 1: to evaluate everything. Everybody's going to be an evaluation. Then
- 49:13Speaker 1: he goes, we'll play calling. I said, everything's going to
- 49:17Speaker 1: be evaluated.
- 49:18Speaker 4: As just to me right now, I think. we should
- 49:20Speaker 4: start having a conversation about Manning and how he got
- 49:24Speaker 4: the bad genes from the Manning family.
- 49:25Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, every scout that I've seen, they're like, man, like, no, there's,
- 49:30Speaker 1: it's there. It's just, they, they're all saying breaking down
- 49:33Speaker 1: the film that it's there. They think he's already like
- 49:37Speaker 1: when Cam Coleman's open, He's already prerequisite to check it down.
- 49:42Speaker 1: And he even said it like, hey, the game plan
- 49:45Speaker 1: was get it out of my hands as fast as possible.
- 49:48Speaker 1: So check down, check down, check down. And it's starting
- 49:54Speaker 1: to become that everybody's saying it's a play calling issue.
- 49:57Speaker 1: It's the design, the offense. It's more the offense. Yeah,
- 50:01Speaker 1: Arch does have some issues, but it's entirely a whole thing.
- 50:05Speaker 1: And I've been telling everybody, this is the way it was.
- 50:08Speaker 1: You know, when Quinn had some bad games, when he
- 50:12Speaker 1: was there getting blown out by Georgia, people were like,
- 50:15Speaker 1: put an arch in. It's time to move. Let's put
- 50:17Speaker 1: an arch. Let's go to arch. He's the future. Let's
- 50:19Speaker 1: put him in. Let's roll with that. Same thing here.
- 50:23Speaker 1: It's always, well, the backups could be better. KJ Lacey,
- 50:27Speaker 1: let's put him in. We don't know that, man. Like, yeah,
- 50:31Speaker 1: he looked good against freaking, uh, Who did we play
- 50:35Speaker 1: in the first game? Texas State. Texas State, yeah. I
- 50:38Speaker 1: was going to say UTSA, but I was like, no,
- 50:40Speaker 1: UTSA was after. It was Texas State. Yeah, he looked
- 50:42Speaker 1: good against Texas State. What does that say? Arch looked
- 50:49Speaker 1: good against Ulaman in his first start. And then he
- 50:55Speaker 1: looked okay against Mississippi State. He had some big throws late.
- 50:58Speaker 1: But even then, they did replace Quinn with Arch. And
- 51:04Speaker 1: what does Arch do? He fumbled right away in that
- 51:07Speaker 1: Georgia game.
- 51:08Speaker 4: Yeah, but what you're saying, though, it seems somewhat of,
- 51:13Speaker 4: seems a little bit to me that you're saying that
- 51:15Speaker 4: Arch is a system quarterback. If he doesn't have the
- 51:17Speaker 4: right system on him, he won't succeed. He's not good.
- 51:20Speaker 1: No, I just think that it's overall play. Like, look,
- 51:24Speaker 1: Quinn Ewers, he played well, but people said he had awards. Like, hey,
- 51:27Speaker 1: he can't throw this. He can't throw that. And I
- 51:31Speaker 1: think at one point there's a common denominator. And that's Sark.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Sark is the common denominator. Because we went through this
- 51:37Speaker 1: with Quinn Ewers. You know, we did. And now it's like, oh, well,
- 51:44Speaker 1: you know. And everybody says, you know, Quinn Ewers was
- 51:46Speaker 1: the top Raider recruit. He ended up being a seventh-round pick.
- 51:49Speaker 1: And they're saying because he wasn't developed properly.
- 51:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:53Speaker 1: And now it's going to like, look, everybody says that
- 51:56Speaker 1: Sark develops these quarterbacks. Who has he really developed? Matt Jones. Yeah,
- 52:01Speaker 1: he played great at Alabama. But if they ran a system,
- 52:04Speaker 1: he gets to the NFL, he flames out. He's a
- 52:07Speaker 1: backup now.
- 52:10Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's also saying right there. So if he
- 52:13Speaker 4: doesn't develop the quarterback, that means that he's not going
- 52:16Speaker 4: to work in the NFL. But listen, I mean, I
- 52:17Speaker 4: think right now, I think somebody will still, let's say
- 52:21Speaker 4: he decided to go to the draft, right? Somebody's still
- 52:24Speaker 4: going to pick him.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Like Ryan Russillo said that he's talked to people in
- 52:29Speaker 1: the NFL and they've like scouts and coaches, and they've said,
- 52:34Speaker 1: we can fix it. Yeah. We can fix them because
- 52:37Speaker 1: we've seen enough, but something's going down there in Texas.
- 52:40Speaker 1: They're all blamed. It's starting to get all the blame.
- 52:43Speaker 1: It's Sark's guy.
- 52:44Speaker 4: It's Sark.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Sark is doing something. He's not fixing these. The way
- 52:49Speaker 1: we said Christian Parker is not fixing these little things
- 52:52Speaker 1: that every other coach was saying. These things need to
- 52:55Speaker 1: be fixed. They're easily fixable. He's not doing them. And
- 52:59Speaker 1: people are saying that in the college game, too, about Sark,
- 53:01Speaker 1: that there's some stuff that are easily fixable. I'm like, look,
- 53:05Speaker 1: the blitz. No slants. No wide receiver screen. No running
- 53:10Speaker 1: back screens to beat the blitz. Why? Why is that?
- 53:14Speaker 1: And it's funny that he said after the game, and
- 53:17Speaker 1: on Monday, too, he said, Sark and his presser said, yeah,
- 53:25Speaker 1: we're working on beating the blitz better. And I'm like,
- 53:29Speaker 1: You're working on beating the Blitz better? You've been being
- 53:33Speaker 1: Blitz for weeks. Ohio State, Tennessee, UTSA was missing the
- 53:38Speaker 1: crap out of you.
- 53:39Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I get what you're saying, but I
- 53:42Speaker 4: think to me right now, I think it's about to
- 53:44Speaker 4: start having a conversation about Manning not being good.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Well, there was a report about KJ Lacey getting more
- 53:50Speaker 1: first reps, and Sark immediately said no.
- 53:53Speaker 4: No, he gets reps.
- 53:54Speaker 1: He said he gets reps, and they're like, is he
- 53:56Speaker 1: getting more? He's like, not that I'm aware of.
- 53:58Speaker 4: I did see somewhere, and I forgot where it was,
- 54:00Speaker 4: that there are talks that if he's not good, he's
- 54:04Speaker 4: going to get benched during the game.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure. I mean, the same thing was with
- 54:08Speaker 1: Quinn when Georgia went wrong. They put Manning in for
- 54:12Speaker 1: a series. But, yeah, I just don't think that's going
- 54:15Speaker 1: to make a difference. I think that you're grasping at straws.
- 54:19Speaker 1: You're throwing a Hail Mary, basically, by putting him in
- 54:22Speaker 1: the back of quarterback thinking, maybe something's going to change.
- 54:26Speaker 1: It's the offense overall, man. It just is what it is.
- 54:29Speaker 4: Yeah, overall, yeah.
- 54:30Speaker 1: But we'll see. I mean, they're 19 now, and I
- 54:33Speaker 1: think they're 19. Like some people were saying they shouldn't
- 54:34Speaker 1: be ranked. They beat Ohio State. They beat Tennessee, who
- 54:39Speaker 1: just beat Alabama. You know? They're 19. They play Ole Miss.
- 54:43Speaker 1: If they beat Ole Miss on Saturday night, they might
- 54:49Speaker 1: get in as a three-loss team because they're going to
- 54:51Speaker 1: have wins over Ohio. Ohio State, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.
- 54:57Speaker 1: And if that happens, let's see. I'm expecting them to win.
- 55:02Speaker 1: I think this is going to, because they know this
- 55:06Speaker 1: is it. If we don't win this game, the season's
- 55:09Speaker 1: pretty much done. You're not going to the playoffs.
- 55:11Speaker 4: Primetime game. But going back to the coaches in the NFL,
- 55:15Speaker 4: he's still going to get picked in the first round
- 55:17Speaker 4: just because teams are desperate for a quarterback. That's what
- 55:20Speaker 4: they are, and every team believes that. they can fix
- 55:22Speaker 4: a quarterback. And he's still going to get there. I
- 55:25Speaker 4: don't know, top ten. He'll be in the first round
- 55:27Speaker 4: for sure.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I do worry because Colin Simmons is out for a
- 55:30Speaker 1: few weeks.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Yeah, he's out too. He's not going to be pissing
- 55:32Speaker 4: anybody anytime soon.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's– let's see how– And Smothers is hurt too, no?
- 55:38Speaker 1: Smothers is hurt, but I think he's going to play.
- 55:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 55:41Speaker 1: But, yeah, Simmons is out. He's out for weeks. So
- 55:45Speaker 1: we'll see how that goes. He's dealing with a high
- 55:47Speaker 1: ankle sprain. Let's get to the rest of week seven.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Did you see the ending to Ohio State and Indiana?
- 55:55Speaker 4: I think I was at the fair at that time. Okay.
- 55:57Speaker 1: You didn't go back and rewatch it? It's the craziest thing.
- 56:00Speaker 1: I've never seen anything like it. First of all, Ohio
- 56:05Speaker 1: State lost Jacob Slavin. He's out for weeks. They're saying
- 56:11Speaker 1: to the point where he's probably out the playoffs too
- 56:14Speaker 1: if they make it. So they're going in. They've got
- 56:18Speaker 1: a bye week.
- 56:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:20Speaker 1: To get the quarterback ready. But I think their next
- 56:22Speaker 1: game is against Oregon.
- 56:25Speaker 4: Ohio State or Indiana?
- 56:25Speaker 1: Yeah. No, Ohio State in two weeks.
- 56:27Speaker 4: You said they lost who?
- 56:28Speaker 1: They lost Slayen, the quarterback.
- 56:30Speaker 4: Slayen.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Slayen, my bad. Yeah, they lost Jacob Slayen. And he.
- 56:37Speaker 4: Justin Slayen.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Justin Slayen, my bad. It was Jacob Slayen. I think
- 56:41Speaker 1: that's a baseball player. But yeah, so they lost Slayen and... Oh,
- 56:46Speaker 1: I'm thinking about Jacob Slayen, the... The defenseman for the
- 56:50Speaker 1: Carolina Hurricanes. That's what I'm thinking of.
- 56:53Speaker 4: Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Sands out. And yeah, he's out. So he's out. Indiana
- 57:03Speaker 1: starts driving in the fourth quarter, dude. They're putting together
- 57:06Speaker 1: a winning draft. Hoover's making, they got, they got a
- 57:10Speaker 1: couple of, they got a, they got a rushing the passer,
- 57:15Speaker 1: roughing the passer penalty with its extended drive on a
- 57:18Speaker 1: fourth down And they kept going. They get to the
- 57:23Speaker 1: red zone. And it's fourth down, right? I think it's
- 57:28Speaker 1: about fourth and four, I believe. And Ohio State decides
- 57:33Speaker 1: to go zero blitz. Man to man, let's blitz the house.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Hoover throws it up to the left sideline. He has
- 57:48Speaker 1: a wide receiver, wide opener, Nick Marsh. Nick Marsh catches it.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Everybody goes crazy. The whole stadium goes crazy. It looks
- 57:58Speaker 1: like Indiana has won with like, I believe there's like
- 58:01Speaker 1: 40 seconds left.
- 58:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:03Speaker 1: You know, Ohio State has a backup quarterback, so it's
- 58:05Speaker 1: pretty much, and they would have to need a score touchdown.
- 58:11Speaker 1: And you see immediately as the kid stops running, he
- 58:16Speaker 1: puts his hands on his head And Gus and Joe
- 58:21Speaker 1: Klatt are like, wait, did he step out of bounds?
- 58:26Speaker 1: He catches the ball, crosses the end zone. His left
- 58:30Speaker 1: foot hits out of bounds. His right foot hits inbounds.
- 58:34Speaker 1: He stepped out of bounds. Dude, that play cost Josh
- 58:39Speaker 1: Hoover the Heisman. That would have been his Heisman moment.
- 58:43Speaker 1: I think they would have won out. And unbelievable. Never
- 58:47Speaker 1: seen anything like that.
- 58:49Speaker 4: Because they've also barely getting by.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Ohio State got so lucky.
- 58:51Speaker 4: Indiana has barely getting by. All season, they barely won.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Northwestern, yeah.
- 58:56Speaker 4: So, yeah, I think this would have been their signature win.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Nebraska, too. They came back. Yeah, but this, I'm telling you,
- 59:04Speaker 1: Hoover would have won. They would have had back-to-back Heismans.
- 59:06Speaker 1: because I think they would have run the table and
- 59:09Speaker 1: got back to, you know, the Big Ten and been
- 59:15Speaker 1: the number one seed in the playoff. But, yeah, unbelievable.
- 59:21Speaker 1: I've never seen that. That kid must be killing himself,
- 59:24Speaker 1: Nick March. I mean, Kirk Cignetti was like, just surrender Krober, like,
- 59:29Speaker 1: what the hell happened? And it's just the most brutal
- 59:34Speaker 1: loss I've ever seen. I've never seen anything like it,
- 59:37Speaker 1: where the game was won, you beat the corner. The
- 59:40Speaker 1: corner was beat by, like, two, three yards. Catch it,
- 59:44Speaker 1: get in the end zone, look like it did. You know,
- 59:47Speaker 1: it gets the overhead view, so I'm like, oh, he
- 59:49Speaker 1: caught it. And then everybody's celebrating, but he's not celebrating.
- 59:54Speaker 4: The right foot out.
- 59:55Speaker 1: So the left foot, yeah, the left foot stepped out.
- 59:58Speaker 1: It was unbelievable, dude. I could not believe it.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Did it look like he lost his balance or was
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: it just a mental mistake?
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Just a mental mistake.
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: He didn't know where he was.
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: And, I mean, he was running around the sideline. He
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: just stepped out of bounds. Unbelievable. Yeah, so USC, they're out.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: They have the bye. They do have USC next and
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: then Oregon. So they have USC on Halloween.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Then they have Oregon. We'll see how it happens. But, yeah,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: with the backup quarterback, they better be getting stuff ready
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: to go.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: So we have chaos besides that. I mean, that was
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: the toughest game. Then we have complete chaos.
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: I mean, yeah.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Georgia, the number one, beat at home by unranked Auburn 27-24.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: They kick Gunnar Stockton fumbles. In the last drive, Auburn
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: gets it, gets to, what, 30 more yards, kicks the
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: game-winning field goal, walk-off in Georgia, in Athens. Unbelievable, dude.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: BYU, what did you call it, the Holy War?
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: BYU and Northern Dame, yeah.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Mormons against the Catholics.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: BYU beats them.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: And there's controversy there, too.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Dude, and Miami got away, too. They barely survived, too. 35-43,
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: they survived.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Miami got away with, I believe, a pass interference.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: What was it? The catch?
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: That was a touchdown that should have been an interception.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: Houston beat Oklahoma State, and now they're unranked. Even though
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: they have one of the top quarterbacks in the mastermaker,
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: that dude is the NFL ready to meet.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Tennessee rolls a tie. The tied back-to-back losses, 26-10. And
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: I'm telling you, the more Tennessee wins, the more Ohio
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: State wins. The better it is for Texas.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: How many teams went down out of the top ten?
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: Like five?
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: It was one loss. Number one loss. Number two loss.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Number four. Number five loss, Indiana. Number six loss, Alabama.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: And number seven loss. So, yeah, five.
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: Five out of the top ten.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Five out of the top ten loss.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: Five out of the top seven. I mean, that's crazy.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: That was chaos. I was watching the late games. That
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: was crazy.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Yeah, the new top five, Miami, BYU, Ohio State. Notre Dame, Georgia. Yeah,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: those are the top five.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: Texas Tech took care of business.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Texas Tech took care of business, which, you know.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: UCLA keeps winning.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: It's going to be a while before they play anybody,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Texas Tech, until we know who they are. But, hey, BYU,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: they rise to the occasion.
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: It's still so weird to see the quarterback wearing number 47.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you asked me that a couple years ago, and
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I said, yeah, it's a BYU thing. Terrible. Yeah, it's
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: just a BYU thing, yeah.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: UCLA keeps winning. Yeah. Now it's number 17, Utah.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Did you see the Kentucky-Oklahoma game?
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: The hell no.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Oh, it was a laugher, dude. 21-13, Kentucky in Norman.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Mateer was picked off. Three times, the punter was picked
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: off once.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: Dude, speaking of giving up somebody, when are they going
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: to give up on him?
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Who do they got?
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Oh, they got him. Fucking put Jason Witten's kid next year.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Well, I think, isn't Witten's kid like a linebacker?
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a linebacker. He's a linebacker, I think.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but, yeah, so Mateer, and the last pick Mateer
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: gets picked off is a pick six.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Good.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: So they were down 14 to three. 14-13, and then
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Kentucky seals it with a pick six.
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: And then now Mississippi State also looks like a joke.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: They were without the quarterback. Kamario Taylor did not play. Yeah,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: he didn't play. He didn't play, so, yeah, that was
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: not a surprise. He's out for a couple games. I
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: think he's going to be back for the Texas game, though.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: I think that's the game where he'll be back. But, yeah,
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: they're pretty much out without him, so. Yeah. Let's go
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: to week eight. Just a couple of four besides Texas
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: and Oklahoma. We got four matchups.
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: Texas and Ole Miss.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Texas and Ole Miss, my bad.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: Houston, Utah.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Houston and Utah.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: That's a late game.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Tennessee, South Carolina, I think, is a good game. Number 18,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: LSU at Auburn.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: Is Stewart going to play in that game? That pass
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: rusher that got suspended. I don't know if he got
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: suspended or he got... For, like, two games, for, like,
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: talking shit. He, like, punched somebody or something like that.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: I'm not sure.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: He's one of the top two pass rushers along with
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: Colin Simmons. They're supposed to be the top two pass
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: rushers coming out to the draft.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not sure if he is or not. Now,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: there is a game that I'm interested in at 2.30.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Texas A & M travels to Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Alabama
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: coming off two losses, of course. Yeah, you got Alabama,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and I think the spread I heard today is 13.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: We can check it out right now. Yeah, the spread
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: is 13 from what I heard. And did you see
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: what their coach, Mike Elko, said?
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: I started to read it, but I didn't finish it.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: He basically said they need to fix some things and
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: gear up for the big game at the end of
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: the year. Which is us. And it's so funny because
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: at SEC Media Days, he was telling everybody that this
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: program and this fan base needs to realize that we
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: need to build something. And that game shouldn't matter as
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: big as they think it is. It's just a game.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: It shouldn't matter even if they lose it. It shouldn't
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: matter as big as it is. But now he's like, yeah,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: we got to get ready for that game.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: Is Marcel Reed still going to be the quarterback? Who knows, man.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I mean, look good against the Citadel. We'll see against Alabama. Yeah,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: it's hilarious to me that now he's like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: We're going to get ready for that game now. We
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: got to get ready for that game.
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: That's everybody's Super Bowl.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Let's get to the big news of the week, though.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Hasn't been confirmed, but everybody's pretty much said it's set
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: in stone. 2014 playoff coming next year in 2027. Yeah, that's,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I mean, now ranking is actually going to matter, right? Dude,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I always thought 16 was the number, but I get it.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: I mean, if you're going to have a top 25,
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: make it matter.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's going to matter.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Why is the 12 or the 16 teams and the
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: rest of them, if your ranking is top 25, then
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: let the top 24 go.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Now, is their ranking going to be more, I guess
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: for the lack of a better term, more strict, like
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: more looking at losses to see?
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Well, they said this year that they're going to factor
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: in strength of schedule more.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Because last year they didn't with us. We beat Ohio State.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: We beat A & M. We beat Vanderbilt.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: We didn't beat Ohio State last year.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I mean, no, no. We lost to Ohio State, but
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: we played Ohio State close. But we beat Vanderbilt. We
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: beat A & M. I can't remember who else did
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: we beat that was highly ranked.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Did we beat Georgia last year? No, no, no.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: We had three wins over top 15 teams. I can't
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: remember who they were. I can't remember who was the
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: other one. But anyway, besides the point that we got
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: A & M, we got Vanderbilt. Was it Mississippi State?
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I can't remember who it.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: Was, but. It could have been Mississippi State.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but there was three top 15 wins, and it
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: went for naught because, you know, especially with A & M,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: we beat the number three team because they said, well,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: you lost to Florida. Yeah, so that pretty much killed
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: us off. Oh, Oklahoma. We beat Oklahoma. Oh, yeah, they
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: were here. Yeah, that's who it was. So, yeah, we
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: beat three top 15 teams. And they held the Florida
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: loss against us. But now, the way they're grading it,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: they're saying that they would have got in last year
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: because of that. And I think it's better because, look.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: Give me the BCS again. I wish.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Here's the problem. When they went to the playoff, I
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: was like, oh, cool. Well, they're gonna use the bcs
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: rankings nope they scrapped the bcs rankings because they're like
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: we're gonna put we're gonna select the teams and i
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: was like ah okay well there it is even with
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: the 12 they're gonna say i mean there's the whole
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: thing came out with notre dame if notre dame's in
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: the top 12 they've got to be in.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: Give me the computers back yeah like now now in
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: the in the AI era. Give me the computers back.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Well, I wonder if they're going to go with the
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: AP poll or if they're going to actually still select
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: and it's going to be totally different than the AP.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: When is the first selection? The first ranking, actual ranking,
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: playoff ranking?
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Oh, it's this week. It's after this week.
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: Okay, so Sunday. Tuesday.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Tuesday will be the first.
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: Tuesday will be the actual first official ranking, playoff ranking.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: It's normally after week eight. Okay. Yeah, so we'll see
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: how it goes. But, yeah, 24 teams, dude. And apparently
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: 16 teams are going to play.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: How many buys? Four, five?
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Eight.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Oh, you came five. Okay, so, yeah.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: The top eight are going to miss week one. But
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: week one is the top nine through 24 are going
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: to play. Then it's going to be down to 16 teams.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: And then, so apparently the first round is going to
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: be at campus. Second round is going to be at
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: campus as well. And then the eight are going to be,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: it's going to be bowl games.
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: And I wonder if any of these bowl games are
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: going to go away now. Because I know the Cheez-It
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Bowl is gone. The Longhorns won the last Cheez-It Bowl
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: and that's it. There's no Cheez-It Bowl. I remember hearing that, so. So, yeah,
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: there it is, man.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: I get it. I mean, like I said. It's money. Yeah, obviously. Yeah.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: And you make, again, you make the rank count. Now
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: you've got a top 24. Top 24 get in, right?
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: I mean, there's no other way. If you don't put
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: the top 24 in, I mean, what are you doing?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: But apparently they're hoping that this will allow for big
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: matchups still.
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: We'll see.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Michigan, Texas.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: But we'll see. I mean, James Madison right now is unbeaten.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Remember when James Madison went to the playoff? I don't
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: know if it was last year or the year before.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Well, I think this is going to make it where, like,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: James Madison is going to join some conference.
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: Or some sort of actual.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: And have other, you know, play other teams that are
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: the same caliber, like maybe North Texas, Tulane, something like that.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Yeah. So, yeah, we'll see. We'll see how that goes,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: but yeah, the 2014 playoff next year. World Series time.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: The Tampa Bay Rays defeat the Cleveland Guardians in six games,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: and now we have The matchup everybody wanted. The MLBPA wanted.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: The Brewers, who have, I believe, the 27th payroll and
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: the Rays have 19th. Or do I have that backwards?
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: It might be backwards.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: Or 24th. I think it's 19th and 24th. Yeah, I
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: think it's the 19th and the 24th payrolls. I think
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: that's what it is.
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: I was going to say the Brewers had the hires
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: just because of Christian Yellich. Because they paid him. And
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: I forgot he was on that team, too.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: He's been there so long, dude.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: I was going to say, yeah, after he got traded
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: from Miami, I was going to say Ryan Braun would
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: be out there hearing home runs. But he's been out
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: for a long time.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: But it didn't take long, man. So when the Brewers
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: were up 2-0, On the Dodgers, Jeff Passan of ESPN
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: already had an article. Ready to go. Talking to the
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: players from the Brewers, the players from the Guardians, the
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: players from the Rays about, hey, you know, MLB is
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: saying that small market teams can't compete. And Lowe, Nathan
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: Lowe on ESPN, Nathaniel Lowe he was in there and
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: he said hey I've been around many clubs he said
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: it's just about having the mentality the winning mentality that's
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: it that's the difference between these clubs and he goes
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: if you have the winning mentality if you want to
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: put in you want to develop you can win it
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: doesn't take money and that's what they're going on and
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: I saw Ken Rosenthal today had hey you know MLB
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: has the... They have the.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: They have the... They have... They lost this one because
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: there's small market teams made the World Series and the
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: narrative that the small market team can't win is false. Right. But,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I mean, look... Yes, it happened this year.
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: But it happened in 23 as well.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: It happened in 23. But, you know, mostly were the Pirates.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: The Pirates haven't been close.
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: The Reds.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Cincinnati hasn't been close.
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: Kansas City, 15. And then what happened to those teams?
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: Boom.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Once they all needed to get paid.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: I mean, the A's haven't been in there for a
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: long time. I mean, the only small market team that
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: has been consistent in the past, let's say, I want
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: to say, and I'm just throwing this out of nowhere.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: in the past 10 years has been the Tampa Bay race.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but even here and there, they've missed the playoffs
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: here and there.
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: Yeah, because the Yankees have always been in there over
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: the Red Sox.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and they've missed here and there by like a
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: game or two. They've missed. But, yeah, I mean, when
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: was the last time they were in 2020, right? When
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: was the last time they were this deep in the playoffs?
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: They went to the World Series and then lost to.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: … The Dodgers. That's the COVID year.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: That was 2020?
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I thought it.
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: Was in 22.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: Before the race. No, no.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Oh, okay. No, 22 was Astros-Phillies.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: Okay. Yeah. But they won the pennant. I saw this
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: two out of three out of the last 10 years.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Well, they went in 09.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: 09.
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: No, the Houston Astros have won like four of the
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: last games.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: They went in 0-9 against the Phillies. That's the last
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: time they... So they've made the World Series twice, the Rays.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: 0-9 against the Phillies.
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: No, that was 0-8.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: 0-8 against the Phillies.
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: My bad, yeah.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: 0-9, yeah, my bad. 0-8 against the Phillies. I mean,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: and yeah. And then 20, the COVID year, the shortened
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: season against the Dodgers.
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: So that was the Randy Azarena breakout party.
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Yeah. So those are it. And I get it, but
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: at the same time, you have a lot of Oakland,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: Sacramento now, whatever they're called. You have a lot of teams,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: the Angels, even though they've spent some money, and you
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: have a lot of teams that have not even sniffed
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: the playoffs, let alone the World Series, Colorado. You have
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: all these teams that just don't have a chance. Now
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the narrative is it's not about the salary cap. It's
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: about these owners want their teams, their values to go up.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: But I think it still is. There's still the narrative that, yes,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: the fans want the salary cap. Simple as that.
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: I mean, does this go against the PA? This goes
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: against the players, right? Against the players. Yeah. And so
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: MLB right now is winning.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Well, I mean, the public perception, they're winning. But that's
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: why the PA won it so bad. Dude, as soon
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: as the PA, as soon as the Dodgers lost, the
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: MLB PA on Twitter put out congratulations, and they named
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: all these players from the Brewers who are not getting
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: paid anything. They named a whole bunch of players. They
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: didn't name the captain, Christian Yelich, at all.
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: What's his name from the Quinta, Texas, too? And he's
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: having a hell of a postseason. Texas player. He went
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: to Texas. He's out of Texas.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. From Brewers, right?
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't remember who it is. His name escapes
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: me right now. But, yeah, just the MOBPA is just
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: like simply, hey, you know, we won. This shows you
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: that we don't need a salary cap.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: David Hamilton.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: David Hamilton. Yeah, my bad. He's more of a bench player.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: He's a speedster.
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: He's rounded 2019. Yeah.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Yeah, he's more of a speedster, get on base steal.
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: Yeah. But yeah, I mean... How bad are the ratings
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: going to be? I think they're going to be pretty bad.
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: I think they're going to be pretty bad, but I'm
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: going to watch.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: I mean, we're going to watch because we're baseball fans,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: but you know.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: It's going to be bad for the casual fan that... And...
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: It kind of sucks to say this, but for the
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: casual Yankees fans that only watch the Yankees because they're good,
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: or Boston Redskins fans that watch the Boston Redskins because
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: of what they are, Dodgers fans. Dodgers fans, they're not watching.
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: They're not watching.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: They're out.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: The casual fan is going to be out. And it
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: sucks that the World Series is going to get... It
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: might be one of the lowest... It's one of the
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: lowest ratings ever because of the two teams that are in.
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: But if you like baseball, if you watch baseball for
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: what it was or for what many people say that
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: it's supposed to be, this is a series to watch.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: Small ball, create your own runs. Don't rely on the
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: home run. What baseball has become has been the power
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: of baseball. We hit home runs, get on base, and
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: now batting averages are up. Or batting averages for these
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: two teams, this is how you get them. So, yeah,
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: you don't rely on the home run or anything like that.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: You rely on pitching, which the aces is going to go.
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: It's going to be Mussarrafsky against Nick Martinez.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Nick Martinez is an ace.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: Wow, Nicky Martinez.
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: Which I think, I mean, they call it an ace,
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: but I thought, what's his name, the other pitcher, Rasmussen
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: was the ace.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: Well, he's a flamethrower, Rasmussen.
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: So is Mussarrafsky.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Mizorowski, yeah.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: And I think, didn't they, I saw somewhere where they
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: said there's only been one pitch thrown above 101 in
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: the World Series, I think. I don't know if it's
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: the World Series. Yeah, the World Series.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Chapman?
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: I think it might have been him. And now with
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: Mizorowski going in there? Yeah.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: Well, Chapman, I mean, Chapman was in the World Series
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: with us.
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: By a starter, I think.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Oh, starter. By a starter. Man, who would it be?
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: 100 in starter.
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: Before that, I don't know.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: Berlander?
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: Maybe. Or, I mean, I don't know if, I don't
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: think Eric Cole ever got it up there.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: Shohei?
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: I don't think, did he pitch in 20?
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Yeah, he pitched last year.
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: Was that last year or was that in 24?
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: No, he pitched last year against the Blue Jays. They
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: rocked him a little bit.
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Yamamoto? Yamamoto can get it up there too.
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: But, point is, Mr. Ross is going to light up
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: that gun.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: He's going to be throwing fire.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: Yeah, he's going to break records. There's no about it.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: It's going to break records. So who you got, man?
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Who do you think is going to take it? Because
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: one fan base is finally going to reach their dream.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: I'm not going to. I know I have an ALEs bias,
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: but I think I'm going to go Brewers. Brewers winning six.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Brew Crew. I think Brewers have the
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: better pitching. I think they have a better team. Yeah,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: if I had to go, I would go Brewers. Because, well,
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: did you see the dream ticket?
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I was confused about what happened. So some dude
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: was trying to cash it in, and they told him no.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: So apparently they had this dream ticket where.
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: But last year they were like, yes, and then they
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: changed their mind?
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Fantasy dream ticket was that, what was it, 2015, I believe? Yeah,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I think so. $ 1, 000, if you gave the Brewers $ 1, 000,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: you would get a future ticket to any game you wanted,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: including if they made the World Series. So from what
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: I read is that these people tried to cash it in,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: and the ticket was in the $ 400 section. And they're like,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: wait a minute. And they went on the secondary mark,
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: and they're like, I can get better seats for $ 800.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: And they're like, so what the hell is my $ 1, 000 for?
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: But even last year, they were willing to... They were
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: willing to trade it in for the World Series and
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: now they're saying no.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: Well, now they made the World Series. They didn't make
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: the World Series last year. I think that's the difference.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: I think after three games they knew we're making the
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: World Series. So we got to make as much money
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: as we can. And now they're saying, hey, we'll sell you,
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: we can sell you The World Series at face value.
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: And you can keep that dreams ticket for another day.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: So they got another thousand on it.
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: That's insane, man.
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: I hit it and quit it. Then I move on
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: to the next.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: And with the next, I.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: Hit it and quit it.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: And what do I do with the next one?
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: I hit it and quit it.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: Hit it.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: And quit it time. This is our version of quick hits.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: And let's start with the Dallas Stars as four out
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: of six points their last three games. They're playing right now.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: They're down 2-1. Wyatt Johnson got his first goal of
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: the year. They're down to the Winnipeg Jets who are
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: without Connor Hellebuck, which I find hilarious. That guy's still
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: not playing. He hates Canada that much. He does not
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: want to play. That's insane. 5-3-1.
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: 11.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Otter has three shutouts.
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: Three shutouts. They're what? They have 11 points out of
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: 14 possible?
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: Have you seen the defensive stats?
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: No.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Lowest in goals allowed. Lowest in shots faced. They're number
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: one in both categories, dude.
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: 22 goals. Goals against 14.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: Goals against 14.
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: Plus eight difference. Uh-huh.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: But 14 that is the lowest in the nhl allowed
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: by like five i think the closest is like 19 well.
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: That was the three the three shout outs by by
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: otter gets you right there yeah yeah they they're playing
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: they're playing really well and like i said you know.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: I think you know matt duchesne's out lindell's out for
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: a week they signed david perron which is really good
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: i i think that's a really good good veteran signing
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: you're gonna you're gonna like him he's a he's really
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: good um But, man, the Miko game, dude, the other night. Yeah.
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: I mean, speaking of Miko, he's got six assists, five goals,
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: plus or minus.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: If anybody needed to know who was the best player
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: on the stars, you know it now. It's as simple
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: as that.
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: He's at plus six.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: I love Robo. I love Miro. But there's no question
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: about it. It's Miko. That's the reason they traded away. And, dude,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: I still cannot believe we have him. It's over a year,
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: and we don't.
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: You know, that first season was a few months. Last
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: year was his first full season. He got hurt in
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: the Olympics. I still can't believe we got that guy. Yeah.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: It's unbelievable.
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: I mean, right now, the defense is looking really, really good,
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: I think. But the offense is still kind of lacking
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: a little bit. The power play percentage is 17.4. That's
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: 24th in the NHL. Goals per game played is 244.
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: That's 27th at the NHL. So they're still kind of
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: lacking in the offense, but I think they're going to
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: come around. The third in the division, behind the Wild
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: and Utah, Avalanche is right behind us in the Jets. So, yeah,
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: I think they're going to be good. I don't think
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: we have to worry about it. And Otter, obviously, is
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: the leader in every category.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: You see, there was somebody put out there, NHL rumor
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: report put out there that Otter was going to ask
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: for a trade sooner than later. And everybody's like, are
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: you insane? You just had three shutouts. Like, what are
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: you talking about?
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: And apparently that account is from Minnesota. And I remember
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: in the offseason that a Minnesota reporter was on with
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: the DLS guys. And he was like, because he was like,
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: people are down on Otter here in Dallas. And he's like,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: send them our way. We'll take them. Minnesota Wild could
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: use a good goal. Yeah, we'll take them. It doesn't matter.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: We'll take them off your hands. I was like, that's
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: complete bullsh, man. That came out of nowhere. Nobody else
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: is reporting it. So I was like, that's bullsh. That's
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: complete bullsh. You know what else was bullshit? Last night,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: the Mavs started, and I guess they started and decided,
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: we'll stop after a quarter.
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: Well, that was the only quarter they had. It was
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: a bad, it was a second quarter.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: Second, it was so bad, dude.
- 1:27:47Speaker 4: No time miles by Dusty.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: Dude, at the half.
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: They were down 70 to 38.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and the points in the paint were 32 to 14.
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: And the fast-paced points also, I think Houston had 20.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and also... The Mavs went 18 in a row
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: missing a three.
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: But I see that, but also, I think it's a, yes,
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: they're missing, but they're also shooting, which is different than
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: I think.
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: Well, it's a new system, but you need shooters.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: Yeah, because you don't have any sharp shooters.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: And remember, I told everybody over the summer, during the
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: summer league, I said, tamper enthusiasm on this De La
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Rhea kid He's raw, you know? He's a.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: A late pick for a reason. And, yeah, his first
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: taste of the NBA, he didn't look okay. He looked
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: lost a little bit out there. Yeah.
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: I mean, who is your third playmaker? Because Kyrie and Koop.
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: Who's going to be? Cesar?
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: I mean, I would say.
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: Sasser. Yeah, he was.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: Rashard, he's.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: Rashard. I'm not talking about him. I'm talking about Sasser.
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: They moved it. I mean, Sasser did have 17 points
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: last night.
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: Yeah, Sasser could be your third one.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: But you still have P.J. Washington. I mean, you're missing.
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: Max Crispy.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: Max Christie, he lost. He wasn't having a good night.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: He was in two for eight, one for seven on three-point.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: But the guy to me that did not look right,
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: and I'm a little bit worried, I was talking to
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: our friend of me, Turo, and he was telling me that, no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: Kyrie is not there yet. He needs to get his
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: rust off. Well, if you need to get some rust off,
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: what the hell was the preseason for? He didn't play
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: in the preseason.
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: Yeah, but you also don't want to risk it.
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: I know, but if you're telling me that he's not
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: right yet, what's the deal?
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: He's coming off of the ACL, dude.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: I get that, but, you know, he did not.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: One game.
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: I'm not getting.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: I know, but he just, I hope it gets better,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: but he just did not look like Kyrie, even a
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: little bit.
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: I'm not worried about Kyrie right now. And it's going
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: to be the first time him and Coop play together.
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: I'm not worried about him at all. I'm more worried
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: about Gafford. He looked like shit. Yeah, he did. And
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: we refused to trade him because the people were asking, apparently,
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: you know, from the Lakers and stuff. And now you
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: didn't trade him.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: Johnson looked like a rookie, Montez Johnson.
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not worried about it either. Not yet, anyway.
- 1:30:49Speaker 4: He was, what, number nine pick? That's the one we picked?
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: One game is not going to change my mind right now.
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: I'm not saying that we're going to go out and
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: fucking make the playoffs and be number one, number three seed.
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: But I don't think it's time. You also got a
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: coach that's coming from college to the NBA.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Cooper Flag, though, looked good in the second half.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: It looked like he just decided to take over.
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: 32 for 32? Yeah.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: They were down 20 with four minutes left, and it
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: looked like Dusty Mays said, yeah, it's okay, man. We're
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: not going to win this one. There's no point in saddening.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: He made history, right?
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: Most points scored by a teenager in an opener.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: He's still a teenager. 32 points. Man, that's crazy.
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: 32 points for number 32, which is crazy. He did
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: look more confident, I thought, because he's bigger. He put
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: about 20 pounds during the offseason. I think that's what
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: I read. He said he grew an inch. So he
- 1:31:47Speaker 4: looks more confident. He looks like the game has slowed
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: down for him now. I feel like before it was
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: too fast, and he tried to hurry to make any plays.
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: He had to like, I got to get in there.
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: Now he goes in there, lets a player, lets a
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: defender come to him, and that's when he makes plays. So, yeah,
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: I think he's looking better. The only thing to me,
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: and I know it's only year two, It worries me
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: that I feel like he doesn't have a tie to
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: the city, to the team, that I think once his
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: four years are over, he's going to walk.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: Oh, you're worried about that, dude?
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: Already, yeah.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: Already? You know, people were worried about that with Luka, too.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: It was year two.
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: Yeah, but Luka, towards the end, he loved this place.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: And he still does. Did you see him last night?
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: He was half-court.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: What caught your eye about opening night on Tuesday and
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: last night in the NBA, now that everybody's played, basically?
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: The Luka thing with Yachting World?
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: And then Rookie, man, he's just talking shit. I lost
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: all respect for him. He's a whiny motherfucker. We know that.
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: But he's a whiny motherfucker. He's supposed to be ours.
- 1:32:56Speaker 4: I don't care. We can whine about whatever. Let him be.
- 1:33:01Speaker 4: And he had that note. He's like, Laker fans, we're here.
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: We're in our whatever, searching for the championship and all
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: that stuff. I'm like, dude, the Lakers, they're going to
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: start to give up. so they can get some lottery
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: picks and try to rebuild. And I think that's when
- 1:33:17Speaker 4: Luka's going to be like, all right, I'm done, and
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: he's going to come back.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: Well, he took out an ad, and I think he
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: posted it on the L.A. Times, and I think he
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: posted it on social media, the whole thing, that, hey,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: we need the city to come together, come behind us,
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: we need you fans. This is the beginning of our
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: championship run.
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: I mean, who else do they have?
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: Well, they let Konek go. They got Reeves. And then
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: they made a bunch of signings. Remember, Stephen A. Smith
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: was like, nothing but white.
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: Oh, the white boys. Nothing but white players. The white Lakers.
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: The white Lakers. And then you had the Knicks against
- 1:33:55Speaker 4: the 76ers. LeBron. Which was the highest rated, highest ratings
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: season opener game in NBA history. Most watched NBA opener.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: The Knicks getting their banner and the rings, yeah.
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: And then LeBron with the 49ers. With the 76ers, yeah.
- 1:34:14Speaker 4: He looked like he was 24 years old. That motherfucker's
- 1:34:17Speaker 4: still moving.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: Boy, he looked like that at the end of the
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: year because he flamed out last year with the Lakers.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: He just wore down.
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: He was on.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:25Speaker 4: He knew he wasn't going to come back.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Did you see the travel scene around the world last night?
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: 13 steps. What the fuck?
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: How did a referee not... See that and call it.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: You can see people in the stands going, travel.
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: That's just the NBA, dude. That's the NBA. The NBA.
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: They're going to call any single little thing a foul,
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: and then they're going to call any travel.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: It looked like one of those crabs in Legend of
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Zelda game just going forward.
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: And then you had the party for Giannis. Anthony Edwards
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: just ruined the party.
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: He scored, he hit 35, right? Giannis did.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: But then.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: It's going to take a while for that team to
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: jail for Miami. Because, I mean, they have Giannis. But,
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: They have Bam. Bam, yeah. Do they still have Hero?
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: No, they traded Hero for Giannis.
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: Yeah. So, it's going to take some time. Let's get
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: to some boxing news. So apparently Canelo Alvarez has told
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: the other Mexicans, because it's labeled, the event is labeled
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: Mexico versus the world, you know, on Halloween night in
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh, where there has been bombings. The
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: airport got bombed two weeks ago, or three weeks ago.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: 13 people died, like 300. Like, they shut down the airport.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: I think it's reopened now. But so many things have happened.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: The State Department has already... Apparently, word has come down
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: that the State Department is going to tell the people
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: at all their embassies in Saudi Arabia, we all need
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: to get out of here. Y'all need to come back.
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: Okay. So are they moving it?
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: Apparently, Canelo has told a fellow fighter who's going to
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: fight on the card and the undercard that he'll go
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: to hell and back to get his belt back. And
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: he's pressing forward. Now, we haven't heard this from Canelo,
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: but apparently... That's what one of the boxers told one
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: of the reporters. That's what he told me, is that
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: he doesn't care.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: I mean, you've got a similar situation in the NFL.
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: But it's funny. They have other events going on. This weekend,
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: it's not in Saudi, but it's in Abu Dhabi. The
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: UFC is having an event there in the same region.
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: But there's other events. They have a tennis tournament. That's
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: been postponed.
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: They have the WWE that's supposed to be a week
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: after this. That's been moved. So, yeah, I have no idea. But, like,
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: I saw a DAZN reporter who's normally at these fights.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: He's normally the ring guy. And he was asked, hey,
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: are you working the fight? He said, no. They asked
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: me to, and I turned it down. I'm not going
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: to do that.
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: Well, you have a similar situation right now with the NFL.
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: The Saints and the Steelers are supposed to play in Paris.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Paris, yeah.
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: And Paris is fucking up in flames and shit. Apparently,
- 1:37:28Speaker 4: the Steelers are going to fly out, and as soon
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: as they hit the fucking tarmac, they head into practice.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I've read from reporters who are covering
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: this fight, and that they're like, we're not going to
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: fly into Saudi. We're not to Riyadh. We're going to
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: fly into Bahrain and drive five hours to get to Riyadh.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: It's insane, dude. I just don't understand. I mean, I
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: get it. They don't want to look bad because they've
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: looked bad this week.
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: And I get what Canelo is saying, what he's saying.
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: I mean, he hasn't fought in, what, a year and
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: a half?
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: So, I mean, yeah, he wants to make a comeback,
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: and he's not getting any younger. So, he just wants
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: to do what he has to do and then eventually
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: come home and fight at Estadio Azteca and retire.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: So, the other reason is, like, so, Turkey Al-Sheikh is
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: putting this on. Turkey Al-Ashiq is also funding Zufa Boxing,
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: which is the UFC Dana White boxing thing. So three
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: months ago, they signed Shakur Stevenson, who is one of
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: the top pound-for-pound fighters ever. Three months ago, they hailed this, hey,
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: we got one of the top guys now. We're major players.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: We paid him a lot of money. And I remember
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: he was at a UFC event, and they put up
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: the name of a basketball player when they showed him.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: And I remember at the post-press conference, Dana White was upset.
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: He said, because we have the worst fucking production team.
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: He was like, He goes, I just paid that guy
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: a shitload of money and they can't even get his
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: fucking name right and this and that. So it was
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: funny when I heard on Monday that this big signing,
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: you know, happened three months ago. Shakur Stevenson announces, yeah,
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: I've been released from my Zufa contract. And everybody's like, what?
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: And apparently the word is that they couldn't get him
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: any of the big fights and they wanted them to
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: fight They're a lightweight champion, Royal Valenzuela, but at a
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: lesser price than what was on the contract. And Stevenson
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: was like, no, $ 15 million. Not seven, $ 15 million. And
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: so they said, okay, well, what if we let you
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: out of the contract? So immediately, this is UFC. This
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: is the same company that owns UFC. They don't release guys.
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: All these guys who complain about, hey, I'm fighting for
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: peanuts in the UFC. I don't want to fight until
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: you pay me more. Or release me from my contract?
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: And they're like, nope, you have a contract. They just
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: released this guy without even getting a fight for three months.
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: They've been lying that they have Dana White for the
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: last couple weeks. I'm working on a fight for him
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: because there was other rumors. And he's like, you'll know
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: when he's fighting when I announce it.
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: Damn.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: He has not said nobody. They had a UFC conference
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: for the event this weekend in Abu Dhabi. He had
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: a press conference. Nobody asked him about it because he
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: controls the media and the UFC.
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: So what do you think they actually released him if
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: the UFC never really does release any players?
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: One, they couldn't get the fight for him. And two,
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: they didn't want to pay him $ 15 million for fighting.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: Because they paid Conor Benn, a UK fighter, $ 15 million.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: And apparently... Every fighter now, even in the UFC, are like, well,
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: you paid that guy, who's an average fighter, $ 15 million.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: And apparently everybody's bringing up that price point, that you
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: paid that guy $ 15 million. And Shakur's like, I'm way
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: better than that guy, and you paid him $ 15 million
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: to fight a bum. You know, why aren't you not
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: paying me? And so, yeah, that's a big thing. And
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: I knew immediately when they signed that guy, Conor Benn,
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: I was like, that's going to be an issue. And apparently, yeah,
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: all these guys are like, Jake Paul, immediately when he
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: heard that.
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: All team for the stars, by the way.
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: Oh, cool. They tied it up. Yeah, so... When it
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: was announced that he got released, Jake Paul immediately went
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: on Twitter and was like, so how does he get released?
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: Can we get Jon Jones released? Because he has Francis
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: Ngannou now with him. He's like, we can make the
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: super fight. If Jon Jones is released, he'll come. We'll
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: make the super fight. They will get paid money. Which,
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: you know, that's why Jon Jones is a thot because
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: he's like, they're not paying me money.
- 1:41:44Speaker 4: Why do they always try to get these husbands to fight?
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: Well, I mean, Jon Jones is still relevant. He's still
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: the UFC champion. They stripped him of the belt.
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: Yeah, but he was in, what, like in 2014, 2015?
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: Dude, it's just amazing to me that these guys make
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: no money in UFC.
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: Yeah, because fucking they know what.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: So, like, Francis Ngannou, I found this astonishing that because
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: he fought Fury and he made $ 15 million. His contract
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: ended with the UFC. He tried to negotiate. Dana White said, no,
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: I'm never going to sign that guy. That guy is fucked.
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: He's never going to get paid. And then he got
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: $ 15 million to fight Tyson Fury in a boxing match.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: And then he got $ 20 million after that to fight Joshua.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: So he got $ 35 million after he left the UFC.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: His total UFC earnings... were $ 5 million. His last fight,
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: he's the heavyweight champion. He was knocking guys out. He's
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: the big name. His last fight, he made $ 500, 000.
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: Why do these dudes sign a contract?
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: Because they get them that way. One of their champions
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: right now is complaining that he just signed a six-year
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: deal and he's only getting a million dollars for his
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: next fight. He's like, I'm one of the big names.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Somebody brought it up to Dana White and he said,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: he signed the contract. But now that they've released Stevenson,
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: they're like, well, you just released this guy.
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: And you were supposed to pay him a lot more money.
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Why can't we get our release?
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: I mean, this is not disclosed. They must have given
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: him like this is– they don't give him numbers when
- 1:43:18Speaker 4: they say they're going to get paid this much per fight.
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: They're going to be like, it depends on how we're
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: doing financially or some shit like that, like a percentage.
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: And then it just ends up being a million dollars.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: No, it's just– it's what it is. I read that
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: the UFC– keeps about 75% of their earnings. And 25%
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: goes to the fighters.
- 1:43:37Speaker 4: That's why this motherfucker makes so much money.
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's why he came into boxing thinking, I
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: can change it. These guys are like, no, it's a
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: different playing field, man. We're making this kind of money. Now,
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: there is one fight I do want to talk about
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: this weekend. If you want some action, if you want
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: brawls this weekend, Saturday, on DAZN, a unification fight at 1.30 p.m.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: El Vaquero and Manuel Navarrete fight Oshaki Foster. If you
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: like punches and bunches, this is the fight for you.
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: These guys throw about 100 punches a round.
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: Is that on DAZN?
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: And it's not pay-per-view. It's just on DAZN. If you
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: have DAZN, you can watch it. That's going to be
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: a big fight. Hopefully, it starts after Texas and Ole
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: Miss finishes, just like Ryan Garcia and Conor Bennett. But
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: that fight there, man, that's going to be a war.
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: But you have Utah and.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: That's going to be a late match, yeah.
- 1:44:35Speaker 4: You have Utah-Houston.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: But this fight, I mean, it might end soon. Navarrete
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: has that kind of power where he just overwhelms you
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: and bam, bam, bam. He can get you out of there. Foster,
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: he's a good fighter, too. He's won lately, but yeah.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: It's a big unification. It's in San Antonio. It's going
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: to be a huge, nice fight. If you guys like action...
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: If you want to know what real boxing is like,
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: this is the fight for you guys.
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: This is it.
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: I tell you this. From somebody who watches the sport,
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: I'm very excited about this fight because it is punches
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: and bunches, like I said.
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: I might have to put it on.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, that'll do it for us this episode. Hope
