- 0:09Welcome inside the Treehouse Football Podcast. I'm Daniel Malley, along with Trey Trenholm
- 0:17and Raj Sharma. I've already screwed up today. I'm meant to wear my
- 0:23Ranger shirt. I would like credit though. I would like credit though,
- 0:29for having the faith and the Rangers to actually keep a Ranger's T shirt.
- 0:36When I moved to the Island, I made a point to keep one just
- 0:40in case. And now I've got a really damn good reason to wear it.
- 0:46Yeah. I've never owned anything Rangers. I've not had a hat,
- 0:50I've not had a shirt. And then I'm not you start now, No,
- 0:53that is a bad move. I just saw the shirts. I saw
- 0:56somebody post where the shirts are now, I believe eighty five dollars while I
- 1:00was saying, don't buy it now because they're in the World series. Don't
- 1:03jinx it, and we know how you like to jinx things around here.
- 1:07Okay, I mean, it's still a shirt. What if I got a
- 1:11vintage What if I got a pre pre owned one? What if I went
- 1:15to like a thrift store and found a vintage Ranger shirt it's knock and wasn't
- 1:19mine. I didn't buy it. Knew, so it comes with the luck
- 1:23of the person that was wearing it. I don't know, Trey, should
- 1:26we allow it? I think you just I think just wait and let's hopefully
- 1:30buy a celibratory World Series Champions T shirt. I like that. Let's do
- 1:34that because I have never owned any Rangers here myself, so okay, So
- 1:40at this point then I'd say, superstition wise, you stay the course,
- 1:44you make no changes whatsoever. So if you now go purchase a shirt,
- 1:47even though it's pre owned, you've now made a change off the course.
- 1:51So yeah, everyone just maintain current course and heading, and then hopefully the
- 1:56Rangers may actually win a World Series this time opposed to magnificently disappointing us twelve
- 2:04years ago. Back to back, stop it, man, it really hurts
- 2:09the twenty ten World Series. Didn't like San Francisco was just a better team
- 2:14than us that year. It is, And if you correct, wasn't Bruce
- 2:16Bochi the manager of that team? Yes, he was the man, and
- 2:22the man is undefeated in game sevens, But it's the twenty eleven It's why
- 2:27I actually thought about this as like, if the Rangers won a World Series,
- 2:31will my hatred of Nelly Cruz subside. No, I don't think it
- 2:39will either, but mine will not. Mine, Mine absolutely will not.
- 2:44And the fact that I had heard, and this goes way way back,
- 2:46the fact that I had heard, and I don't remember if this is true
- 2:50or not, or if I'm just if I heard it somewhere and I'm just
- 2:52you know, carrying on a rumor. But I remember at some point after
- 2:59that where Nelson Cruz mishandles the fly ball and write that leads there wasn't the
- 3:08sole reason, but it certainly contributed to the Rangers eventual losing that World Series
- 3:14to the Cardinals. Is that they had contemplated taking Nelson Cruz out of the
- 3:20game for a defensive replacement, but they didn't do it because they wanted to
- 3:25be because you know, Ron Washington's like, man, I gotta trust the
- 3:28guys that got me here. Obviously, hindsight's twenty twenty. Get that man
- 3:31out of there because he's a liability in the field, and he was.
- 3:35And that was the one time it really came to bite the Rangers in the
- 3:38ass. Okay, No, well, I ever totally forgive forgive him for
- 3:43it. No, but it'll make me feel better if we win one without
- 3:46him. Now, now, how about this, because first and foremost and
- 3:51Dan, you know this, I don't know if Trey does. I'm a
- 3:53Yankees fan, so first and foremost, like, that's my that's my go
- 3:58to, that's the team I want throughout the season. Right now, what
- 4:01if I buy because I am a Yankees fan, but because it's hometown,
- 4:08I'm I'm I'm wanting to get a shirt for the hometown guys, not for
- 4:13myself. Here's what you do. Go to Rally House because they have some
- 4:15cool stuff. Yeah, go to Rally House and see if they have a
- 4:21Ranger's logo slapped on the side of a Bandwagon T shirt. That's the shirt
- 4:27for you. It's not it's not Bandwagon. I'm just supporting everybody else's love
- 4:32of the team. Yeah. But if that was the case, then your
- 4:38shirt would have a would have a would have my face on it wearing a
- 4:42Rangers shirt. What if I did Okay, Now, what if I did
- 4:45that? You can do what you want. Okay, see that now now
- 4:49that it's got you on my now that you're on my shirt, it's okay.
- 4:53Well, because now you're supporting a Rangers fan. Ah. Yeah,
- 4:57that's that's what I'm supposed to being a band wagon fan cheering for the Rangers
- 5:00just because you know whatever. Right, So that goes back to my vintage
- 5:03thrift stores of a Rangers fan. Was like, Hey, I've I've outlived
- 5:08this shirt or you know what I mean like that, I've got a new
- 5:11one. I don't need this one anymore. Let me let me sell it
- 5:14off to this little consignment store that's next to wor I was watching the game
- 5:16that I was actually going to go over to to buy the shirt before the
- 5:19game started. Now, I didn't want to go down this path, but
- 5:24because you brought up the fact that you are a Yankees fan, I need
- 5:26to address it. Raj. Are you the most basic of sports fans?
- 5:30And what I mean by that is a Yankees fan? Right, one of
- 5:36the most successful baseball franchises in the history of ever, maybe extremely an extremely
- 5:43valuable. And your football team is a Dallas Cowboys, you know Murky's success
- 5:47in the last thirty years, but still the most valuable football team in the
- 5:51NFL. So, who's your favorite soccer team is at Manchester United? What's
- 5:55the what's the tost team trade? I am a man Man you. You're
- 5:58a man, you fan, but I have been. I have been since
- 6:00I was a kid. Okay, yeah, my dad was Liverpool and so
- 6:04I was like, Who's Who's what of Liverpool's biggest rifles, Manchester United.
- 6:09So that's why I went, who's your team? I don't have a honckey
- 6:13team? I do like if I if the Stars games are on, I'll
- 6:16watch the Stars game. But I don't actively But I did. You know,
- 6:19as long as you don't say one of the basic bitch teams, then
- 6:23you're fine. Who's your basketball team matters? Okay? It said Lakers and
- 6:29then no, no, you were going to be but you're going to slap
- 6:31him right out of this tree. You can change, going to change the
- 6:35secret knock. No. It was nineteen ninety three and I wanted to buy
- 6:41a hat of the team that I thought would win the World Series. So
- 6:46I was at Champs No, No, I was at Lid's. Oh.
- 6:50So I was walking around and I was like, what calls out to me?
- 6:54This team I predict will win the World Series? So I grabbed a
- 6:58Yankees hat for the first time I've never had. Did you even know that
- 7:00it was a Yankees hat? Or you just got it just because you like
- 7:02the logo. No I did. I mean I had. You know,
- 7:04I used to click baseball cards as a kid, so I know what the
- 7:06old school logo, the old school uniforms look like. So, and then
- 7:10they went on strike. Is that ninety three, ninety four, ninety four?
- 7:14They went on strike? And I remember I bought the hat and they
- 7:16went on strike, and I was like, ah, man, but the
- 7:18cool hat. I'll just keep it. And then ESPN did a thing where
- 7:23when the strike started, statistically where every team was who would win the World
- 7:29Series based on these analytics, it turned out to be the Yankees. So
- 7:31I was like, hey, that's cool, and so I just that's how
- 7:35I got turned on the to the Yankees. Are you going to be rooting
- 7:40for the Rangers extra hard because of the Diamondbacks upsetting the Yankees in two thousand
- 7:44and one? Yes, yeah, that's what I'm saying. See, there's
- 7:47multiple reasons why I think that can own a shirt. I think I can't.
- 7:51I think I can buy one, but not at eighty five dollars if
- 7:55I can find one at a three store. But I did see that post
- 7:58where the hoodies are now like one hundred and five, which is fantastic.
- 8:01So they did what Taylor Swift did for Kelsey's jersey, the Rangers did for
- 8:05their own. So Congress, I mean, we can all agree this and
- 8:09it didn't matter you know who your your team is. It just felt good
- 8:13to stick it to the Astros. Yeah. Yeah, I love it as
- 8:18a Rangers fan watching watching Adulus Garcia in the Astros over their cheating trash cans
- 8:26charter and then that flipped it when he was done. Did you know did
- 8:31y'all know that in twenty twenty one we designated him for assignment Garcia? Yeah?
- 8:39Was the assignment get better because it apparently worked? I mean, and
- 8:41yeah, that puts him on the open market. No one wanted him,
- 8:43so we re signed him. But oh wow, that is like he I
- 8:48didn't realize his story of you we got him in the trade with Saint Louis.
- 8:52I think, you know, basically nobody wanted him because at that time,
- 8:56I think he was twenty six. Was that Saven Lewis saying we're sorry
- 8:58we beat you in the World Series even though you should have beaten us.
- 9:01Here's this guy and now and now look at what he's doing. It was
- 9:05one. I forgot who the main player in the trade was, but he
- 9:07was just one of those ancillary people. And but yeah, we do it
- 9:11was one of the players to be named later. Basically that's always my favorite
- 9:16trade. But he is going so I guess he's eligible for arbitration next year
- 9:24and he will get paid, so he's playing for the minimum. That's that
- 9:30That is to me is just absolutely astonishing. Yeah. Yeah, and he's
- 9:35evidently I've got I mean, all his stats. He's no one has done
- 9:39what he's ever done before. I think there was one and I forgot it.
- 9:45I can't even think who it was. But yeah, he tied one
- 9:46of the great baseball players of all time of you know, hitting it in
- 9:50an ALCS. Well, I know that he broke the record for most RBIs
- 9:54in the ALCS and ironically enough, the previous record holder was Nelson Cruz.
- 10:05Well, I mean, yeah, it's just a it's an exciting time here
- 10:09because it's it's it's it's I'm not I was in LA when all the last
- 10:15two happened, so I wasn't here to be part of the frenzy. It
- 10:20was definitely a frenzy. It was I remember being at Cosmo's in Lakewood watching
- 10:24a baseball game, which you've ever If you've ever been to Cosmos, which
- 10:26I know both of you have, yes, you know. It's not exactly
- 10:30a sports bar, so it always so. Two thousand and eleven, we
- 10:33were watching that World Series against the Cardinals. The whole bar is sitting at
- 10:39the bar watching a tiny ass TV. And it reminded me of Major League.
- 10:48They have the punk guy sitting next to like the normal guy in the
- 10:52red bar. That's what Cosmos looked like. I lived that. Wow,
- 10:56I lived that moment. And we're all pounding on the bar and everything,
- 11:01and then and then the bad stuff happens, and then everyone just gets deathly
- 11:03quiet, and then out of nowhere, a guy behind us all just yells
- 11:07out, son of a bitch. I have that audio somewhere on the phone.
- 11:13I'll try to find it and play it for you guys. But it
- 11:16was. It was a heartbreaking, gut wrenching, hysterical clip. Speaking of
- 11:22a gut wrenching and hysterical The forty nine ers lost again. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:28do you do? Do you now now that they've lost back to back
- 11:31weeks, do we is more? That sting taken out of our hearts.
- 11:35Given the ass whipping they gave our Cowboys just a couple of weeks ago,
- 11:41I think I have more questions. I do too. I don't about the
- 11:45forty nine ers, are about the Cowboys, all of it. Unfortunately.
- 11:50Yeah. The only team, god I hate saying this, the only team
- 11:54that I've seen that its seems to be dominant week in and week out are
- 11:58the Eagles. Yeah, yeah, very true. Well except for that loss
- 12:05against the Jets. Yeah, I mean, you're gonna you're gonna have the
- 12:11flukes. But they look really good. I mean, I Jalen Hurts who
- 12:16knew, yeah, he's uh yeah. I think when when they when they
- 12:22lost to the Jets, I think the look on Jalen Hurts face when they
- 12:28lost to the Jets was very much we're not doing this again. And the
- 12:35look on Dak Prescott's face when they lost to San Francisco is like I'm not
- 12:39drinking the night before ever again. Definitely a tale of two quarterbacks there,
- 12:48because they just looked like they all went out and got drunk. It looked
- 12:52like the scene from Varsity Blues when they get out of the Strip club at
- 12:56six o'clock in the morning, and then they go play their district game and
- 13:00then everybody just looks horrible. All right. The only thing that was really
- 13:03missing in from the Cowboys in that forty nine Ers game was them puking all
- 13:07over the field. Yeah, but it is one of those things where I
- 13:15go when I when I see the forty nine Ers lose like that, that's
- 13:18when I, like Trey is saying questions. I'm like, what did what
- 13:20were we doing? The like if that was if that's the capacity, we
- 13:24have the capacity to defeat them handily because who they're losing to now, if
- 13:28they lose to the Bengals, like, I'll have more questions. Yeah,
- 13:33now I'm with you there. So this is the way I've been looking at
- 13:33it over the last couple of weeks since the Cowboys of you know, since
- 13:39the Cowboys got their asses handed to them in San Francisco, which isn't a
- 13:43first for everybody, but for some it is the when you get beat that
- 13:48bad. What did I say? Did I say something? Where are you
- 13:54all laughing? If it's something I said, like, just raise your hand,
- 14:01tell me tell me that If that was not planned, that was the
- 14:05greatest moment in history. I think it's best that I did. I not
- 14:11tell you my secrets. Ray, Oh that was worth it one because one
- 14:16because I don't want you to see the wizard behind the wall, and also
- 14:22I want to maintain deniability. Yeah, they are going to be people that
- 14:30listen to this in their car that are going to veer off the road after
- 14:35coffee on the windshield. Anyway, as you were saying so brilliantly, was
- 14:45it really was as I was. As I was saying, what was I
- 14:52saying? Now, I've I've totally forgotten the Uh you have what the forty
- 14:58nine ers had done to the to the and the Eagles have maintained their stuff.
- 15:01But speaking of asses, the tush push has been a hot topic of
- 15:07conversation throughout the season because the Eagles have have deployed it so many times and
- 15:13pretty much every single time they've done it, it has worked so much so
- 15:18that now you've got the NFL looking at whether or not they should ban it.
- 15:22And Jason Kelsey not to be confused with Taylor Swift's boyfriend, but Jason
- 15:26Kelsey, offensive lineman for the Eagles, has said the play works. It's
- 15:31certainly it's obvious that it works, but I'm paraphrasing here, it's a bitch
- 15:35of a play because it's it's a physical thing. It's not exactly kind to
- 15:39the body for anybody, especially the offensive lineman who are up front. Where
- 15:45do you guys fall on the tush push pro or con don't, I don't
- 15:50see. I don't see the need to ban it. I don't understand,
- 15:56like what the motivation of the logic behind it is. It seems like a
- 15:58very illegal play. It's not like they invented it. They just do it
- 16:03better than anyone else ever has. Now, part of that is that Eagles
- 16:06offensive line might be the best that's ever done. I mean, they are
- 16:10so good and yeah, I don't know, you know, the push,
- 16:15the tush push is just a little bit extra that that line can pretty much
- 16:18maul anyone. So you know, I'm I don't see any I mean,
- 16:22I hate it. I hate that they do it so well. But yeah,
- 16:25but I think that's also what it is when people see something that they
- 16:29that every team does just done better by somebody else and go, well,
- 16:32we got to stop that, right, Well, they do it better,
- 16:34that's all it is. That's exactly what it is. They execute the play
- 16:37better. Than anybody else who's attempting it. And because of that, the
- 16:41other teams are like, hey, we don't like it. And I keep
- 16:42that in mind. We're all Cowboys fans and we're saying that I do like
- 16:45though that they they called it something nice, you know, they call it
- 16:48the tush push. I've also seen it referred to as the brotherly shove.
- 16:52And I'm just left guessing that Eagles fans prefer tush push because it sounds nicer
- 16:57than begging for a pegging? Am I? Am? I? You are?
- 17:12And then there's a theme to also, I would love to hear it
- 17:18called in the huddle, all right, who's begging for begging? Like what?
- 17:22We So that can't be a silent count. Can If you're listening to

- 18:07Roj, I like how you you took the conversation about the tush push and
- 18:11you open it up a little bit wider for us, So you saw the
- 18:18whole picture? Well, you know, I said, you just you just
- 18:22want to look inside and see what's what? You know? Every every now
- 18:26and again, I just give it a crack. See what I can do.
- 18:30No, you did bring up an interesting uh picture in my mind and
- 18:36trays during that break, which was what did the Eagles call that play?
- 18:41Because like in the old days when we played in high school, uh,
- 18:45the coach would tell the receiver, the receiver runs the play and tells the
- 18:48quarterback. Nowadays, in high school it's hand signals. And actually in high
- 18:52school they may even have the receivers in the helm of the quarterback the way
- 18:56they do in the NFL. I don't know whatever it is. It's a
- 18:59difference. But what's the actual physical name of the play? Like does the
- 19:03player come in and go, all right, tush push on two or or
- 19:08yeah, yeah, yeah you were saying. Or does the player come in
- 19:14and be like, can we do the thing? I want to do the
- 19:18thing? You want to do the thing? What's the thing? Then the
- 19:22quarterbacks like what the thing? Oh? The thing? Oh yeah, yeah,
- 19:25I don't mind doing the thing. You want the thing, I'll give
- 19:26you the thing. Sure. And then and somebody's like, just stop calling
- 19:30it the thing because it's the person that it's the association. Whatever you call
- 19:34it, that name is now associated with it, so you have to be
- 19:40careful what name you give it because it'll now have the negative association. On
- 19:42the other hand, the Eagles may love the play because it works, but
- 19:47at the same time, just because it works doesn't mean it feels good,
- 19:56which is basically what Jason Kelsey said. The touchbush works, but it doesn't
- 20:03feel good. Every time you have one of those moments, I have to
- 20:06remind myself we're still talking about a play in football, not something you say
- 20:11to a counselor just because it worked doesn't mean it felt good. I bet
- 20:18that is an interesting job. Philadelphia Eagles HR representative. It's just the whole
- 20:25offensive line just every Monday, just lined up, just ready, and one
- 20:30player like it did not feel good. The center is always there though,
- 20:36because he's always being groped. That may actually be the reason why the onslaught
- 20:41of the shotgun formation in the NFL is because maybe finally one center became a
- 20:48whistleblower and said, oh lord and boy was the whistler Matt. So anyway,
- 21:03the Cowboys play the Rams this week. Yeah, what do we think,
- 21:10guys? What do we uh? What do we think? The thing?
- 21:12I'm the thing I'm most fascinated by is the Rams still have a boatload
- 21:18of talent on their team. Yes, that they had when they won the
- 21:22Super Bowl. Yet for some reason they suck. Now they got the same
- 21:26coach, they got the same quarterback. They still got Aaron Donald. Now
- 21:30they don't have the same quarterback. Oh yeah they do. Isn't it Stafford
- 21:33out right now? I thought he was playing this last time I was watching
- 21:37him. I was watching a little bit of the Steelers and the Rams this
- 21:41this last week, and and I'm I thought it was Stafford that I saw
- 21:45playing. I wasn't watching that intently because I was kind of taking the Sunday
- 21:48off and enjoying the fact that I wasn't going to be disappointed by the Cowboys.
- 21:53Yes, it's still so I'm still on how how quickly the Mighty have
- 22:02fallen? It seems. Yeah, I don't like Again, it's always baffled
- 22:07me with with sports in that sense, Like there's like when it gets down
- 22:11to like the last minute and then everybody's playing with such intensity and like where
- 22:15was that the whole game? And then like when you have something like this
- 22:18where you have a team that's won the Super Bowl and then you have that
- 22:21same team with basically the same staff. Like what happens? Like, what
- 22:26do you? That's why I go, that's why my and here we go
- 22:29with my conspiracy theory. Oh boy, here we go. Roger tinfoil hat
- 22:33is being placed on its brow. I just I was. I was watching
- 22:36Run Funches uh when he was talking about conspiracies that I was like, you
- 22:38guys, don't you guys don't believe in any of them? Really is like
- 22:41you think the government is just batting a thousand telling everybody the truth. So
- 22:45my theory is it goes back to Vegas running things and Vegas baking. The
- 22:52mom still has their their their their stronghold on all things betting wise. And
- 23:00so if you, you know, you win a super Bowl and then you
- 23:03come back and you go, you have the same team, what are the
- 23:04odds of them winning a super Bowl? And all this money gets dumped on
- 23:07by diehard Rams fans and they're like, cool, we need you to throw
- 23:11this, we need you to suck now. Well here's the thing. No,
- 23:18but maybe yes. So here's the reason I say no. The NFL
- 23:22shut up, Tray. I can see your face. It's a strong take.
- 23:29Again, I'm not going to find those takes on any other sports shift
- 23:34only right here in the treehouse. I don't know anyone else that that can
- 23:41swing both ways between smart and stupid better than me. I've really got to
- 23:47start workshopping the things I say before I say them on the show. Anyways,
- 23:53the reason why I say no, Raj is because the NFL is designed
- 23:59for parry. So when you win the Super Bowl, your schedule the next
- 24:02season is, by percentage, the most difficult next year, because you're now
- 24:07going up against all those teams from the previous year. You know, with
- 24:11a couple of exceptions. I know they have to play the certain you know,
- 24:15divisions that are already preset, But your schedule is designed to be the
- 24:19most difficult of anybody's. And if you lost every single game that same season,
- 24:26your schedule the next season is supposed to be softer than everybody else's.
- 24:30Obviously, you're not playing yourself the whole time, but you get the idea.
- 24:33So the NFL is designed for parody. Now that's how the Mob doesn't
- 24:37control week to week on the game. But to expand on your conspiracy,
- 24:44it is certainly possible. I don't think likely, but it is possible the
- 24:47Mob could have influence over the NFL as a whole and have told them to
- 24:52make the league like that. Now, granted, I don't think they did.
- 24:57I don't think they have. I don't think the mafia has more power
- 25:00than the NFL mafia. Oh, I think they do. I think they
- 25:06still. There's just so much money globe the people when when it's so funny
- 25:11when people think about betting, everybody thinks of Vegas. It's the Vegas.
- 25:15It's a global market. The mom deals with international h betting and gambling.
- 25:22That that kind of money is in the billions of dollars every week. So
- 25:26do you think then at the mob, if they're the ones who are secretly
- 25:30running the NFL, even though the NFL is its own mafia. Let's be
- 25:33honest, you really think the Mob would be down for signing Roger Goodell to
- 25:38a three year commissioner extension for two hundred million dollars. That's chump change,
- 25:45That's that's nothing. That's on a weekly scale of how much money goes in
- 25:49and out of Vegas and how much Atlantic City. And then you start to
- 25:55go overseas and he's Hong Kong and you start going in Carlo. I mean,
- 25:59it's just jump change. So what that moment Roger Goodell? Then,
- 26:03I don't know, the world's least intimidating consigliary. No, he's just freido.
- 26:15Wow. Wow. Everybody thinks he's stupid, but he's smart. Yeah.
- 26:25No, I don't know. I saw I saw the story the other
- 26:26day that that Goodell was signing a contract extension for two hundred million dollars,
- 26:32which is a huge number. And then I saw that that the term of
- 26:34the deal was only three years. Yeah, my god. Yeah, and
- 26:38that's for them to go, hey, is this is how much do you
- 26:41need for you to keep doing what we tell you to do. He's like,
- 26:45let me just throw something against wall. It's like it's like Alex Rodriguez
- 26:49with the Rangers and when they're like, so we're gonna walk into this room,
- 26:52what are you gonna say? He's like a two hundred and fifty million
- 26:55dollars? Are you nuts? And the know door opens, like what you
- 26:57got? It's like two hundred fifty million dollars. Orange just went sounds good,
- 27:02Just like what the hell just happened? That's what that's what that is.
- 27:04When he's number out there. That was Tom Hicks's ego. Yeah,
- 27:10but still that was everybody in the world went what Yeah, because he wanted
- 27:15Yeah, he wanted to double what the highest baided contract was and Tom Hicks
- 27:18was stupid enough to give it to him. And this is Roger Goodell if
- 27:21you want to talk about he's you know, he's Fredo for the NFL owners.
- 27:26Now, that's a little mafia. That's what I'm getting in the NFL.
- 27:30That's That's exactly what I'm getting at when I say the NFL is a
- 27:33mafia. It's designed, it's set up in the in the very similar fashion
- 27:37as the mob is as we know it, because it has no competition.
- 27:42It's set up under it's not even text, it's it's I believe it's it's
- 27:48it's filing with the I r S. Is a non profit. Yes,
- 27:52they do have anti ruistics like they have. Yeah, they have anti trust
- 27:55exemptions which protects them. That's why they always say they call it the shield.
- 27:59You gotta protect the shield or what that shield protects is the owners,
- 28:03which are the individual you know, captains or mob bosses, and they're the
- 28:07ones that appoint the CONSIGLIERI. The NFL Commissioner as the one who is the
- 28:11main protector of the NFL. But the NFL is basically the group of owners
- 28:15that own all the teams. Yes, but they're put so. They were
- 28:18given the system by the creators of the system, and then they go,
- 28:22this is how you do this. We're going to show you how this is
- 28:26done. But then we're gonna dictate how you do things. Uh, because
- 28:30we have to be in the shadows. We have to operate in secrecy,
- 28:33and you guys do not. Yeah, two on that for a bit.
- 28:41See, you guys think my conspiracy theories are crazy. Nope, well I
- 28:45just I just gave you a new one. Yes, no, you gave
- 28:48me the same one. You're just That was my whole theory is they operate
- 28:52in secrecy while the NFL is their mob in the spotlight. Oh okay,
- 28:57I thought I was. I thought I I thought I took your kernel of
- 29:00a conspiracy and expanded it. M that's all. I got a bag of
- 29:04popcorn, buddy, I'm good. But yeah, I mean I think that's
- 29:10because I don't understand how that works. You have the same people or are
- 29:14they playing injured? Are they playing with Lomra or did some people not get
- 29:18a contract, and some people not get the money that they wanted, so
- 29:21they're not going to play as hard. I don't know how well that's that
- 29:23way. I look, I look, I can I can have fun with
- 29:26it and lean into the fact that maybe the mafia actually controls the NFL.
- 29:30But I will, I will certainly say that the NFL is run like a
- 29:34mafia style organization because of its figureheads and how it operates that I believe.
- 29:42Now whether or not it's intentional that they did that, I don't know,
- 29:47But I don't think that the players are in on it, because they're you
- 29:49know, they're they're they're stoes. That's right, That's that's right. They're
- 29:53the hired the hired muscle that that take the fall for they're captains whenever they
- 30:02need to take the phone. You see how this plays out. So well,
- 30:04it's just but again, the players are unwinning accomplices because they're they're just
- 30:11playing. They're just playing the game. Now some of them maybe become aware.
- 30:15Yes, you know, they always call it, oh, it's a
- 30:18business. Well it is a business. And that's how once once they've you
- 30:21know, sort of come to terms with that as a player, because it's
- 30:26not high school where you do it for fun and love. It's not college
- 30:29where you do it for fun and love and sex and beer and some money.
- 30:32If you're really really good in the NFL is all about the money and
- 30:36the other things will come with it. Yeah. Oh, they just bring
- 30:40that stuff with it from college. They just get more money that's not around.
- 30:44But they're still bringing drug, sex and beer. They're they're bringing that
- 30:48to the draft. That's at the table. Yeah. I mean I had
- 30:56friends that played college football and college back and uh boosters, that's what they're
- 31:03still called. I would just call them money givers. They Yeah, it's
- 31:08it's impressive what they would get shoes and clothes and free tattoos, and I
- 31:17mean it's just that's nothing. Go read what all the players got when they
- 31:19were at SMU in the eighties. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 31:22mean that's what the gold trans am that was the that was the dopeness.
- 31:26No, but that was given to him by A and M. That wasn't
- 31:27even given to Eric Dickerson buying SMU. He just drove it into town.
- 31:33That was the best one. Well, that well, that should go to
- 31:34tell you something though, Is that a and M gave him the Gold trans
- 31:37Am and he still went to SMU. So do you know I should tell
- 31:41you what he got from SMU was better than Gold Exam. Yes, the
- 31:45story behind Craig James going to SMU is he had signed with A and M
- 31:52and but he was you know, at his high school sweetheart who he's still
- 31:56married to. And SMU was smart enough to give her a band scholarship.
- 32:00She had never been an instrument. Say that again. You gave her a
- 32:04band scholarship although she had never played an instrument. Oh, she played one.
- 32:14Scholarships are not free. She was a whistleblower. I think we found
- 32:22Simu's deep throat. If you're listening to this and not watching, I'm just
- 32:29shaking my head left and right. I said it, but I'm ashamed.
