- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to kf I AM six forty the Bill
- 0:03Speaker 1: Handle Show on demand on the iHeartRadio apps.
- 0:11Speaker 2: So witnesses be nothing.
- 0:12Speaker 3: You know, if you have three witnesses to a crime,
- 0:14Speaker 3: you have four stories. Witnesses are the least reliable evidence
- 0:19Speaker 3: that you can get.
- 0:21Speaker 2: And now handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:25Speaker 2: Bill Handle AM six forty Bill Handle, Here morning crew.
- 0:46Speaker 3: On a Friday morning, January sixteenth, we were talking here
- 0:50Speaker 3: Ann and Neil and me, and as the music bumper,
- 0:53Speaker 3: the music intro goes on, we're still talking and ConA says,
- 0:57Speaker 3: come on, guys, you have a show to do.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And Neil says, hey, we're talking. We're talking.
- 1:02Speaker 4: We're talking here.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll turn on your mics and keep talking.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Uh yeah, Well guess what they couldn't do that. They
- 1:08Speaker 2: couldn't do that. Guess what this show is about.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Okay, A couple of things is I'm in the studio today,
- 1:15Speaker 3: which is always a lot of fun. And the reason
- 1:19Speaker 3: I broadcasts from my house a fair amount is because
- 1:24Speaker 3: it is an hour and a half driving in Kono,
- 1:26Speaker 3: and I burn hour and a half driving in and
- 1:28Speaker 3: I have a car.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Just wanted to point that out.
- 1:30Speaker 6: And this is great because you know people listening right
- 1:32Speaker 6: now are driving an hour and a half to make
- 1:34Speaker 6: much less than you. Well, that's really so, I got
- 1:37Speaker 6: great idea to start with it. I go from an
- 1:39Speaker 6: hour and a half to a thirty foot commute. That's better.
- 1:44Speaker 6: That's better.
- 1:45Speaker 3: And during the summer, you know, because this is the
- 1:47Speaker 3: way you only see me waste up. I quite often
- 1:52Speaker 3: I'll come in there and naked and my bell ringers showing.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Nobody would know it.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Quite often.
- 1:56Speaker 3: That's the whole point is you can't see because so
- 2:01Speaker 3: when I reached down and you think it's to pick
- 2:04Speaker 3: up a pen or something, I drop.
- 2:05Speaker 2: No, it's a scratch factor.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Six six everybody scratch factor.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, crack a window. Uh hey, a couple of
- 2:16Speaker 3: things before we go on. Just a quick hello to
- 2:19Speaker 3: uh one in all Amy, Good morning.
- 2:22Speaker 5: Good morning Bill.
- 2:24Speaker 3: She brought my She asked for my Kamala Harris book,
- 2:27Speaker 3: which Lindsey bought me, and I actually read it. Not
- 2:30Speaker 3: that I don't think Kamala Harris is, you know, a
- 2:32Speaker 3: Dodo head interesting book.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I wanted to read it. I just didn't want to
- 2:36Speaker 5: pay for it.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it's an interesting book.
- 2:38Speaker 3: First of all, of course it's completely self aggrandizing, all right,
- 2:40Speaker 3: of course she's so impressed with herself.
- 2:42Speaker 4: But she talks Is it just like she circles?
- 2:47Speaker 3: No, she writes, okay, because of course, then I'm sure
- 2:49Speaker 3: it was very heavily edited. But at the same time,
- 2:52Speaker 3: she gives us a lot of what's fun about the book,
- 2:54Speaker 3: a lot of inside baseball about what the Biden administration
- 2:59Speaker 3: did the Biden people did to her, didn't they didn't?
- 3:02Speaker 4: She just crap all over them in the book.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah, because according to her, they crapped all over her
- 3:07Speaker 3: in terms of her run, her candidacy, And it's all
- 3:10Speaker 3: there in the book, naming names. And I thought that
- 3:13Speaker 3: part was interesting. The inside baseball.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Did she get along with the first Lady? I don't.
- 3:19Speaker 5: They did, I don't.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Yeah, but she doesn't talk about that. There wasn't a
- 3:23Speaker 3: lot of that First Lady.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Seemed like she really wanted her husband back in there.
- 3:27Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 3:28Speaker 5: Did you notice the back cover?
- 3:29Speaker 4: No?
- 3:29Speaker 2: I never looked at the back cover.
- 3:30Speaker 5: So the back cover has Kamala Harris on top, you know,
- 3:32Speaker 5: up on the podium with the American flag, Beyer, and
- 3:35Speaker 5: then the other one is the little black girl who
- 3:38Speaker 5: had to ride the bus that Joe Biden didn't want
- 3:41Speaker 5: her to be on. That's immediately what I thought of.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Remember when she called him out during the debates and
- 3:46Speaker 5: that kind of started. Yeah, that's what that made me
- 3:51Speaker 5: think of immediately. I have no idea if that's what
- 3:53Speaker 5: that reference is to.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 3:55Speaker 6: That's funny. Yeah, that was her. That was the one
- 3:58Speaker 6: shot she got during the debates. That's the only shot
- 4:02Speaker 6: that she took. His response was terrific. Eh, he said,
- 4:06Speaker 6: I like ice cream. I like ice cream, and I
- 4:10Speaker 6: like the smell young girl's hair. All right, uh Will,
- 4:15Speaker 6: good morning, Good morning Bill.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Hey Will brought in real jew bagels and locks, and
- 4:20Speaker 3: thank you very much. What a surprise.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And you know you you have you turned me onto locks.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I thought the idea of it was disgusting until I
- 4:28Speaker 2: ate it and I was like, oh my god, smoked.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Salmon and cream cheese on a bagel and wheeled jew bagels,
- 4:33Speaker 3: and thank you. Because locks are not inexpensive, you have
- 4:37Speaker 3: a choice. You either snort cocaine or you eat locks.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I mean it's snort smoked. Yeah, yeah it is, so
- 4:46Speaker 3: I'll take locks. At some point I didn't as you know. Okay, Neil,
- 4:52Speaker 3: I'll give me a lot of grief. And good morning,
- 4:56Speaker 3: good morning.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That was it?
- 4:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that I gave you grief.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Dude.
- 5:00Speaker 6: Their eyes are at half mass, they are I'm very
- 5:02Speaker 6: tired today. And anyways, all right, and Conou and Cono.
- 5:09Speaker 6: We are raising money to help Cono with a car
- 5:14Speaker 6: his pard, Yeah, his car blue. His car blew up
- 5:18Speaker 6: and he was looking at some real issues in getting
- 5:21Speaker 6: another car. And we're on our way to pay him
- 5:25Speaker 6: or give him through a go fund Me page, a
- 5:28Speaker 6: good chunk of the purchase of another car. So we
- 5:32Speaker 6: aren't about what what's the exact number?
- 5:35Speaker 5: And fifteen thousand and seventy five?
- 5:39Speaker 3: Wow?
- 5:40Speaker 2: That does that? Does that include my ten dollars? No? Okay,
- 5:44Speaker 2: eighty five?
- 5:45Speaker 6: Yeah, handle's the only one that gives money and takes
- 5:47Speaker 6: out his own taxes. True it goes is one hundred dollars,
- 5:52Speaker 6: but it's true forty goes to the bank.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Neil actually beat me in terms of the money you did.
- 5:59Speaker 5: I was.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I was stunned and hugely embarrassed.
- 6:02Speaker 4: You should be, I know.
- 6:03Speaker 2: And U a present. I'm going to open it on
- 6:05Speaker 2: the air that oh yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Because you said it was December so much. Yesterday I
- 6:09Speaker 6: thought I'd bring the gifts for every Merry.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Christmas to handle in Lindsay. And that's from Neil, and
- 6:16Speaker 3: I'm going to open it up.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Hey, Neil, is mine the same as his?
- 6:19Speaker 4: Well, yes and no, they're all custom that everybody like them.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Oh my god, here we go.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It is a cutting board and it's beautiful and it's
- 6:33Speaker 3: just like the one I have at home.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Except what does it say on it?
- 6:40Speaker 3: It says this is where Bill and Lindsay cut the
- 6:44Speaker 3: cheese's and the one.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Uh really say that? Yeah it does? And the one the.
- 6:51Speaker 3: One I have at home is a little bit I
- 6:53Speaker 3: first say, yeah, well it's it's a little bit more
- 6:55Speaker 3: down to earth.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Mine is this is where Bill and Lindsay fart.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Uh.
- 7:00Speaker 2: But it's pretty much the same, Hey, Neil, Yes, mine,
- 7:04Speaker 2: says Cono, the pride of the ie.
- 7:06Speaker 6: Oh wait a second, the tags came off con No
- 7:10Speaker 6: open wills.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So anyway, thank you. It's and it's beautiful. One in
- 7:13Speaker 2: here it is a It is a beautiful.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Oh.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I put it by your workstation.
- 7:18Speaker 2: By the way, I've been looking. I've been looking at
- 7:20Speaker 2: cutting boards and they are not good. Ones are not in.
- 7:22Speaker 4: It these are made.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Uh.
- 7:24Speaker 6: The guy who makes the cutting boards is in uh
- 7:27Speaker 6: there in the US. He's a woodworker. And then I
- 7:29Speaker 6: do all the designing and etching of the They're absolutely beautiful, stunning.
- 7:34Speaker 6: The guy does beautiful, beautiful.
- 7:36Speaker 5: It's like it's two different kinds of wood, and the
- 7:38Speaker 5: amazing beautiful.
- 7:40Speaker 2: What you're saying, oh my gosh, AND's kitchen and teams
- 7:43Speaker 2: and then Los Angeles Chargers.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Flip it over, Oh.
- 7:48Speaker 3: My gosh, and the podres your team who's playing?
- 7:53Speaker 4: Can you flip it over?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Amazing? And mine only has a fart reference?
- 7:57Speaker 6: Yes, thank you, And then Cono says the Ika me,
- 8:02Speaker 6: I want to I want to go back to Combe
- 8:04Speaker 6: before we take a break, because we're obviously a modified
- 8:07Speaker 6: program today as opposed to actually getting into our real
- 8:11Speaker 6: star Christmas is I.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Know because I brought gifts.
- 8:14Speaker 3: For yousident are going here something okay for Kno, we are.
- 8:19Speaker 2: We're going to go for another few days.
- 8:22Speaker 3: And I think our goal is twenty five thousand dollars
- 8:25Speaker 3: if we can reach it, and we're at fifteen almost
- 8:27Speaker 3: sixteen thousand dollars?
- 8:28Speaker 6: Are you going to cover what others don't? So if
- 8:31Speaker 6: it doesn't eight will you cover the nine.
- 8:34Speaker 2: No, nine five?
- 8:35Speaker 3: No, I'm I'm done with the ten dollars. I'm done
- 8:38Speaker 3: now if you like to pay, if you like to
- 8:41Speaker 3: donate a couple of more dollars than ten.
- 8:44Speaker 2: By the way, you can match what we have.
- 8:46Speaker 4: More generous before you got remarried.
- 8:49Speaker 6: Actually yeah, true, you've always been generous, sweep bus.
- 8:53Speaker 3: So anyway, we go fund me page that we are
- 8:58Speaker 3: sending you to and requesting you go to to help
- 9:00Speaker 3: Kono with the car.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Uh.
- 9:02Speaker 3: You have to go through our website because there is
- 9:04Speaker 3: so much craziness going out there where people just open
- 9:07Speaker 3: up websites, they open up go fundme pages, uh, and
- 9:11Speaker 3: just follow what other people do.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Fraudulent basic like the one that says bill handle Kono. Yeah,
- 9:17Speaker 4: it's just for you.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yes, that one.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Anyway, you go to KFI A M six forty dot
- 9:22Speaker 3: com slash con o, k O n O. That's kf
- 9:26Speaker 3: I A M six forty dot com slash shot cono
- 9:30Speaker 3: and please you know, and you know, I'm one of
- 9:33Speaker 3: those people that say, you know, all all donations are appreciated,
- 9:38Speaker 3: even a dollar or two. That is a crock. When
- 9:41Speaker 3: people put in two dollars, you know, come on. You
- 9:44Speaker 3: can't be that cheap. It's the bill hander Christmas shown.
- 9:50Speaker 2: No, no, it doesn't. It goes all they have. But
- 9:53Speaker 2: I don't care people. Have them go out on the
- 9:55Speaker 2: street talking from your high horse. Have them go out
- 9:58Speaker 2: on you know.
- 9:59Speaker 3: There was there was a gal who I saw on
- 10:01Speaker 3: the freeway off ramp who said three dollars please, and
- 10:06Speaker 3: someone came up with two.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Sheff feed that's not enough money. Okay, here we go
- 10:11Speaker 2: handle on the news, Amy Neil and me lead. Sorry.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Well, the Trump administration tried it again and federal judge
- 10:21Speaker 3: shut it down. And this has to do with a
- 10:25Speaker 3: directive that the President signed ordering California to turn over
- 10:30Speaker 3: its voter rolls.
- 10:33Speaker 2: To the Feds. And the judge said, nope, not going
- 10:38Speaker 2: to happen.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Judge David o'carter, he's involved in the homeless, all the
- 10:41Speaker 3: homeless situation for years, and he said the Justice Department's
- 10:46Speaker 3: motivation and its lawsuit demanding the voter data from California
- 10:51Speaker 3: not just an overreach into state run elections, but a
- 10:54Speaker 3: threat to American democracy.
- 10:56Speaker 2: And usually judges don't go that far.
- 10:58Speaker 3: And it's true, I don't know, I haven't the opinion,
- 11:00Speaker 3: but I'm sure somewhere in the opinion the judgment mentions
- 11:04Speaker 3: that pesky thing we call the constitution.
- 11:07Speaker 4: So what would be the benefit of turning them most.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Just the information that goes to the government.
- 11:13Speaker 3: The DOJ maybe fraud looking Trump ledges massive fraud, particularly
- 11:18Speaker 3: in California, and they're going to straighten all that out.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Problem.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Article one of the Constitution says the states will.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Run the election. It's controlled by the states.
- 11:29Speaker 3: The rules are set by the states, not the federal government.
- 11:32Speaker 3: And as I said, that pesky constitution is just getting
- 11:36Speaker 3: in the way if Trump wants to do and the
- 11:39Speaker 3: DOJ hasn't even said it's going to appeal or not.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Trump is losing a fair amount in the courts. That's
- 11:45Speaker 3: not to say because the judges are on are now
- 11:48Speaker 3: turning against him. It's just he is making these decisions
- 11:52Speaker 3: that are so out there that even judges are going
- 11:57Speaker 3: But isn't.
- 11:57Speaker 4: That what you want to see? What checks balance? Of course, but.
- 12:02Speaker 3: We're not seeing checks and balances on a level that
- 12:05Speaker 3: normally happens in our normal course of running the.
- 12:09Speaker 4: God if anything does normal.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, we're seeing checks and balances on the absolute crazy stuff.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Okay, moving on, because we really you have to move on, not.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Ruling anything out. After weeks of escalating tensions between US
- 12:27Speaker 5: and Iran, an emergency meeting was held at the UN
- 12:31Speaker 5: Security Council. The US called for it. The US Ambassador
- 12:35Speaker 5: to the UN, Mike Waltz, says, colleagues, let me be clear.
- 12:38Speaker 5: President Trump is a man of action, not endless talk
- 12:41Speaker 5: like we see at the United Nations. He has made
- 12:43Speaker 5: it clear that all options are on the table to
- 12:47Speaker 5: stop the slaughter. Of course, referring to the killing of
- 12:50Speaker 5: at least twenty five hundred protesters in Iran, some of
- 12:54Speaker 5: those accounts are that it's over ten thousand.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I'm sort of in favor of that.
- 12:59Speaker 3: But also, here's the problem politically, is that President Trump
- 13:04Speaker 3: ran on not getting involved in foreign affairs. That was
- 13:09Speaker 3: one of his main campaign promises, and now he is
- 13:12Speaker 3: getting involved in foreign affairs big time.
- 13:15Speaker 6: That's a huge thing with the Mega group, Right, We're
- 13:18Speaker 6: tired of spending money and everywhere except the United States.
- 13:22Speaker 3: And well we're only getting little bits and pieces because
- 13:25Speaker 3: his Maga, his MAGA followers.
- 13:28Speaker 2: I mean, the guy could do almost anything.
- 13:31Speaker 6: Yeah, but once you start going against what their principles are,
- 13:35Speaker 6: what their principles?
- 13:36Speaker 3: Okay, well how many let me ask you how many
- 13:38Speaker 3: Marjorie Taylor Greens I have come out of the Republicans.
- 13:41Speaker 6: I don't know, because you're not going to run. I'm
- 13:43Speaker 6: not talking about those that are in the House or anything.
- 13:45Speaker 6: I'm talking about those that are. Yeah, a lot of
- 13:48Speaker 6: them were upset and still upset about the Epstein files things.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Like that, But nothing's going to happen.
- 13:53Speaker 3: When you look at the approval of Trump his supporters,
- 13:57Speaker 3: Republicans have not dropped.
- 13:58Speaker 4: And I'm going on the record say he won't be reelected.
- 14:03Speaker 4: All right.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Speaking of Trump, someone has introduced, you know, a Republican
- 14:08Speaker 3: and and to put his face on Mount Rushmore.
- 14:11Speaker 2: That has been introduced.
- 14:12Speaker 5: He has not.
- 14:13Speaker 2: It has by who.
- 14:15Speaker 3: One of the congress people Trump one of the crazy
- 14:18Speaker 3: ass congress people. And you can look that up. Now
- 14:20Speaker 3: it's only one person you know who did that. But
- 14:24Speaker 3: I called it because he has some insane followers.
- 14:28Speaker 4: That's not just nuts. All right. So President Donald Trump
- 14:32Speaker 4: yesterday said that.
- 14:33Speaker 6: He was gonna I hate when they do this. Invoke
- 14:37Speaker 6: eighteen oh seven law. I hate when they do that
- 14:40Speaker 6: eighteen oh seven. What's the Constitution, it's older than that.
- 14:44Speaker 6: But I hate when they do appeal to antiquity that
- 14:47Speaker 6: it's that it's like, oh, because it's eighteen oh seven.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Well he can do he can invoke the Insurrection Act.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 14:54Speaker 6: I just think when you start dating a law, it's like, well,
- 14:57Speaker 6: the Constitution outdates eighteen o se where you're doing so
- 15:00Speaker 6: eighteen oh seven law that deploys troops to quell persistent
- 15:04Speaker 6: protests against federal officers there in Minneapolis. So he's just
- 15:08Speaker 6: saying the Trump troops are going to go out to Minneapolis.
- 15:12Speaker 2: They are, and that's what he's saying.
- 15:14Speaker 3: But the Insurrection Act is to deal with the insurrection,
- 15:19Speaker 3: the overthrow of the government.
- 15:21Speaker 6: In the article, what are they trying to do when
- 15:23Speaker 6: they put that date? They looked at this law is
- 15:26Speaker 6: so old, Well all of our laws are.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. That's true.
- 15:30Speaker 4: That just is a weird thing to put it in. Yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 4: but I just say the law the law.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Well, and several presidents have used it. Reagan used it,
- 15:38Speaker 5: Bush used it, Johnson used it, Kennedy used at eisenhowerd Roosevelt.
- 15:43Speaker 5: I mean, so it's been used before.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't know.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I don't know what the I don't know what the
- 15:47Speaker 3: circumstances were either, because there's been martial law declared by
- 15:53Speaker 3: a couple of presidents, and that is a huge deal
- 15:55Speaker 3: because that's when Habeas corpus is suspended, and that is
- 15:58Speaker 3: no small deal.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Okay, teeny tiny earthquakes revealed big problem spots. By tracking
- 16:05Speaker 5: swarms of very small earthquakes, seismologists say they're getting a
- 16:08Speaker 5: new picture of the complex region where the San Andreas
- 16:12Speaker 5: Fault meets the Cascadia subduction zone, which is an area
- 16:15Speaker 5: that could give rise to devastating major exactly.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeh okay, fine, when the big one comes, we'll talk.
- 16:20Speaker 3: In the meantime, who cares, We probably won't talk. That's
- 16:24Speaker 3: probably true. You'll hear me screaming. But yeah, it's getting
- 16:28Speaker 3: more and more complicated by the minute.
- 16:31Speaker 2: What earthquakes? The earthquake the seismologists, Yeah, hey, yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Let's hear from them when they know how to predict them.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, And they don't. It's going to be a
- 16:39Speaker 3: long way if they're ever going to be able to.
- 16:41Speaker 6: All Right, Trump, he loves the word great and big
- 16:45Speaker 6: and everything, and he has revealed his healthcare proposal guess
- 16:50Speaker 6: what it is, The Great Healthcare Plan. Yeah, this is
- 16:55Speaker 6: looking at outlining the obviously the cost cutting ideas, but
- 17:00Speaker 6: it stops short of offering any real detail replacement for
- 17:05Speaker 6: the Affordable Care Act aka obamacarero.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Although he has some good ideas.
- 17:09Speaker 3: One of them is cutting the cost of pharmaceuticals, which
- 17:12Speaker 3: needs to be done right, getting rid of the middleman,
- 17:14Speaker 3: those managers, those pharmaceutical managers that between the hospitals and
- 17:20Speaker 3: they just add costs. Oh yeah, yeah, no, there's no
- 17:22Speaker 3: question about it. He's got some good ideas, but.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Without in without allowing.
- 17:29Speaker 3: The extension of the Affordable Care Plan Affordable Care Act.
- 17:35Speaker 3: It's a lot of people are uninsured. It's already started.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Several million have been lost already no insurance.
- 17:42Speaker 2: It's going to get bigger.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Great Healthcare dot gov is the website they launched for this.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Boy. This was a heck of a present. Venezuela's opposition
- 17:56Speaker 5: leader Maria Karina Machado went to the White House yesterday
- 18:00Speaker 5: to meet with President Trump and gave him her Nobel
- 18:04Speaker 5: Peace Prize. He later wrote on social media, such a
- 18:08Speaker 5: wonderful gesture of mutual respect. Thank you, Maria. The Nobel
- 18:13Speaker 5: Committee does say that the prize is not transferable.
- 18:16Speaker 3: And you'll notice that the name Maria Machado has been
- 18:20Speaker 3: scratched off and the name Donald Trump has been put in.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Marking pen with a sharpie.
- 18:26Speaker 6: Yes, I hope he gets one of those small country
- 18:31Speaker 6: outfits that are all festooned with like buttons and hats
- 18:37Speaker 6: and stuff. All right, this is fabulous news. The first
- 18:40Speaker 6: time ever, seven to ten or seventy percent now live
- 18:46Speaker 6: five years after their cancer diagnosis.
- 18:48Speaker 4: So this is now.
- 18:50Speaker 6: The American Cancer Society is coming out with their annual
- 18:53Speaker 6: report was released this week and they said that this
- 18:57Speaker 6: is a great news.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and no silver bullet, Yeah but no, but incrementally
- 19:01Speaker 3: it's getting better and better.
- 19:03Speaker 5: I'm one of those people who just hit five years.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Oh wow, look at that.
- 19:09Speaker 6: See here you are, and then it says, let's see
- 19:11Speaker 6: and then after the five years they.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Kick it, stop it.
- 19:14Speaker 4: No, I'm reading the article now.
- 19:16Speaker 2: That seems to.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Be that five year survival rate seems to be the
- 19:21Speaker 3: threshold of which five years is huge when you're dealing
- 19:25Speaker 3: with any sickness like that.
- 19:26Speaker 5: My oncologists started saying right before the five year anniversary,
- 19:30Speaker 5: he said, you know, Amy, you can say it now
- 19:32Speaker 5: you're cured.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Oh wow, that's exciting. Yeah ah, the congratulations. That is
- 19:38Speaker 6: very cool, kind of a cool milestone.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Yeah, of saying alive. Yeah, it's pretty cool. Sucks yeah, okay,
- 19:46Speaker 3: then it's okay. I'll buy that.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Rich people suck there. The United Nations Secretary General Antonio
- 19:55Speaker 5: Guterres lashed out at the countries yesterday at the Special
- 20:00Speaker 5: Meeting of the United Nations, saying that countries violate international law,
- 20:05Speaker 5: and he also called the concentration of power and wealth
- 20:10Speaker 5: by the world's richest one percent morally indefensible.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Okay, now what yeah, what do you do with that?
- 20:19Speaker 2: All right?
- 20:20Speaker 3: You know, if you're one of those rich people, you're
- 20:22Speaker 3: just going I have fie, okay, thank you, and go
- 20:25Speaker 3: back to living under a bridge with your tent and
- 20:28Speaker 3: we'll talk later.
- 20:30Speaker 6: They're just going to get these massive yachts and go
- 20:33Speaker 6: out in the middle of international waters and just live there.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 20:36Speaker 6: Wikipedia, which is one of those last bastions of the
- 20:40Speaker 6: early Internet, right of the original vision of that free
- 20:45Speaker 6: online space where you can get information and didn't cost
- 20:48Speaker 6: you anything. Well it has and we all know Wikipedia,
- 20:51Speaker 6: But they unveiled a new business deal with tons of
- 20:56Speaker 6: artificial intelligence companies. So this marked their twenty fifth anniversary,
- 21:01Speaker 6: and this crowd sourced encyclopedia is talking to companies like
- 21:06Speaker 6: Amazon and Microsoft and all of this to get these
- 21:11Speaker 6: aggressive data collection methods.
- 21:13Speaker 4: That is used by AI.
- 21:15Speaker 3: You know, if you go to Wikipedia, every once in
- 21:17Speaker 3: a while, they'll ask for money. They'll ask for a donation.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and they say, because this is how we
- 21:21Speaker 3: stay alive, which and that's how they live. I didn't
- 21:25Speaker 3: know how they were monetized and how they stayed in business.
- 21:29Speaker 2: There is a board.
- 21:29Speaker 3: It's a nonprofit, but there is a board, and I
- 21:32Speaker 3: guess the board cut a deal and Wikipedia is going to,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I guess, make a ton of money on this stuff.
- 21:39Speaker 4: So does that mean they won't ask us for money anymore?
- 21:41Speaker 3: I would guess no. I would guess no. And some
- 21:44Speaker 3: of the stuff is dead wrong on Wikipedia. You know,
- 21:47Speaker 3: I look at my page and I go no, no, no,
- 21:50Speaker 3: and people correct it all the time. And that's even
- 21:53Speaker 3: more of a no no matter of fact. You know,
- 21:55Speaker 3: what I want to do is ask about Neil Sabaiedra.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Let me do that.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Hey Siri, this this gig takes me to Wikipedia, Hey Siri,
- 22:07Speaker 3: take me to Wikipedia.
- 22:11Speaker 4: I don't know that. I've looked at my Wikipedia page.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I know that would didn't work.
- 22:15Speaker 5: All I can say is I should have got a snickers,
- 22:18Speaker 5: you know, for when it's going to be a while.
- 22:20Speaker 5: LA twenty eight opened up registration for you to get
- 22:24Speaker 5: into a pool for a chance to be drawn to
- 22:29Speaker 5: buy tickets to the LA Olympic Games. In twenty twenty eight,
- 22:33Speaker 5: one and a half million people from one hundred and
- 22:35Speaker 5: fifty countries signed up for tickets in the first twenty
- 22:38Speaker 5: four hours of registration. For the rest of us, like me,
- 22:41Speaker 5: you got bumped out of the queue. You didn't get
- 22:44Speaker 5: a verification email for six hours when that link had
- 22:47Speaker 5: already expired.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Jumping through a lot Do.
- 22:49Speaker 2: They not let you resign?
- 22:51Speaker 3: You could go to another website and probably resign, use
- 22:55Speaker 3: a friend's email address because it's good until March.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you have plenty of time to do it
- 23:02Speaker 5: if you wanted to get in right at the beginning.
- 23:04Speaker 5: There was a lot of glitchy stuff going on there.
- 23:06Speaker 3: But the lottery is everybody is in the same yeah,
- 23:10Speaker 3: right at the march. And I love what Casey Wasserman,
- 23:14Speaker 3: LA twenty eight president said. The Olympic Games returning to
- 23:17Speaker 3: Los Angeles in twenty twenty eight is a once in
- 23:20Speaker 3: a generation opportunity to witness history until the thirty two
- 23:26Speaker 3: Olympics and until the twenty thirty six Olympics. Then they
- 23:29Speaker 3: become a once in a generation. Hey, it's every four years. Okay,
- 23:34Speaker 3: it's not once in a generation, but this.
- 23:36Speaker 6: One not always here though, And we're very excited that
- 23:39Speaker 6: they're finally going to give a rats ass about LA
- 23:41Speaker 6: and clean things.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Well the third we are the third coming. I don't
- 23:45Speaker 3: know anyus. A couple of cities have done it three times.
- 23:48Speaker 3: But a wonderful stat is there's only two Olympics in
- 23:51Speaker 3: the history of the Olympics, modern Olympic Olympics that have
- 23:54Speaker 3: made money and who Los Angeles both times.
- 23:58Speaker 6: I don't know why you had problems, Amy, My wife
- 24:00Speaker 6: and I did it and it took us two minutes.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Oh really, So I tried it right when it started,
- 24:05Speaker 5: like right when it opened at seven am on Wednesday.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Then I was in the queue for about an hour
- 24:10Speaker 5: and a half and then I couldn't get a verification,
- 24:12Speaker 5: and then I got the verification emailed to me six
- 24:15Speaker 5: hours later. And then when you type it in it goes, Oh, sorry,
- 24:18Speaker 5: that's expired and you have to start over again.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 3: I can't wait for the for the game or the event.
- 24:24Speaker 3: You can get a ticket four because opening closing ceremonies.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I don't even know how much that's going to be.
- 24:32Speaker 4: I want archery, okay, once marcher.
- 24:35Speaker 5: I want gymnastics.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Okay, that is probably a ticket you've.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Had, probably can't get it.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be very difficult.
- 24:42Speaker 3: And during the winter, I like curling, you know, and
- 24:45Speaker 3: sown Yeah, where the guys used the brooms.
- 24:48Speaker 4: But I would watch curling.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Yeah, now I love curling.
- 24:50Speaker 3: And during the side game like whoa, like it was
- 24:53Speaker 3: a regular, like it'll be bought you balled.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Yeah, summer I want to see the obscure stuff.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah it is. But curling is great. And they, yeah,
- 25:03Speaker 2: were the brooms.
- 25:04Speaker 6: You know who was I don't know what they call him,
- 25:05Speaker 6: a master curler, Bill Carroll's wife.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Yeah, she's was.
- 25:12Speaker 3: A janitor for years and years, because that's how you.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Put I think she threw the stone or whatever they
- 25:17Speaker 4: call it.
- 25:17Speaker 6: All right, So Trump's got so many troops he doesn't
- 25:21Speaker 6: know what to do with them. And actually I like
- 25:23Speaker 6: this idea he's pressing Mexico to allow US forces to
- 25:27Speaker 6: fight cartels.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Yeah, and I don't know why we haven't done that
- 25:30Speaker 4: in the past.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Because Mexico is a sovereign country that can't handle themsel
- 25:36Speaker 3: doesn't matter, it's still a sovereign So what do you do?
- 25:39Speaker 3: So we're involved with Mexico and Canada of course, and
- 25:42Speaker 3: Iran and Columbia is on the list, Cuba is on
- 25:47Speaker 3: the list.
- 25:48Speaker 6: But isn't it like shareholders, don't we hold a share
- 25:51Speaker 6: of Mexico now because so many live here. It's like, hey,
- 25:54Speaker 6: we're fifty one percent shareholders with Mexico.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Don't because the documents are all illegal, they're fraudulent.
- 26:02Speaker 6: Why don't know they're undocumented? We just need to give
- 26:04Speaker 6: them documents now. Can't we just annex Mexico?
- 26:07Speaker 2: Sure we can? And they're gonna say, hey, why not?
- 26:11Speaker 3: Sure?
- 26:11Speaker 5: Sure, possibly building a defense. According to a report published
- 26:19Speaker 5: by The New York Times, the thirty two year old
- 26:22Speaker 5: son of Robin Michelle Reiner, who were murdered in their home,
- 26:27Speaker 5: was in a mental health conservatorship that started in twenty twenty.
- 26:31Speaker 5: The conservatorship ended in twenty twenty one. According to the Times,
- 26:36Speaker 5: and at some point Stephen Behar, who's a licensed feduciary
- 26:40Speaker 5: he was in charge of the conservatorship, said mental illness
- 26:42Speaker 5: is an epidemic that is widely misunderstood.
- 26:45Speaker 2: But he was only in charge of the money part
- 26:48Speaker 2: making financial decisions. Yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 5: Well, wait, is a mental health conservativeship the same?
- 26:53Speaker 2: No, it's different.
- 26:54Speaker 5: So he was in a mental health conservatorship.
- 26:57Speaker 3: He was in a mental health conservatorship and endedn't But
- 27:00Speaker 3: if it was a fiduciary.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Okay, that's he was in charge of the money.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fiduciary. So it's uh, it's isn't that what
- 27:07Speaker 3: Britney had. Yes, Brittany had her father, the uh who
- 27:12Speaker 3: was the fiduciary was the conservator for the financial We.
- 27:16Speaker 6: Have massive mental health issues that are totally especially on
- 27:19Speaker 6: this shot stover all. Right, So Verizon, Verizon had that
- 27:26Speaker 6: massive seven hour outage that we all heard about, and
- 27:29Speaker 6: then you know, you impacted more than one point five
- 27:33Speaker 6: million customers and they are gonna, you know, give you
- 27:39Speaker 6: a credit after the outage of twenty macarones, twenty dollars,
- 27:45Speaker 6: twenty big ones, but.
- 27:47Speaker 5: You have to go sign up for it. So I
- 27:49Speaker 5: wonder how many people are going to do it because
- 27:51Speaker 5: it was seven hundred thousand people affected here in the
- 27:54Speaker 5: LA area. It was millions across the country.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Why even do that? Twenty bucks? What's that? A gallant
- 27:59Speaker 4: gas California?
- 28:01Speaker 2: But they're out for how many hours? Were they out?
- 28:04Speaker 5: Ten hours?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Ten hours? They were out?
- 28:06Speaker 1: Uh?
- 28:06Speaker 2: They what does it cost? Eighty dollars a month or
- 28:08Speaker 2: seventy dollars a month?
- 28:10Speaker 5: So it's a lot more than technically what it should
- 28:12Speaker 5: have been.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Yeah, when you look at the actual number of hours,
- 28:16Speaker 3: that's never that.
- 28:18Speaker 4: It's how it's the inconvenience, that's what that's correct.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I need to punitive damages.
- 28:23Speaker 5: I couldn't play Solitaire.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yeah, or I was about to go into emergency surgery
- 28:29Speaker 3: and one of the devices.
- 28:30Speaker 2: That keep me alive broke down because it was Internet connected.
- 28:34Speaker 6: Wait a second, I am not going to let that slide.
- 28:38Speaker 6: Amy lives alone and has cats. How sad is it
- 28:42Speaker 6: that she couldn't play Solitaire? The cat, the weird cat
- 28:47Speaker 6: lady couldn't.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I couldn't even play my game by myself.
- 28:52Speaker 5: All right, we're first of all, I am not of
- 28:53Speaker 5: a rising customer, so stop.
- 28:55Speaker 2: So there you are? And how many cats? How many
- 28:58Speaker 2: cats do you have?
- 29:00Speaker 3: That doesn't make you a cat lady, That makes you no.
- 29:04Speaker 6: But she dresses up with a tail and ears, and
- 29:07Speaker 6: she puts whiskers on and then she lays it.
- 29:09Speaker 5: Did that once.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just but she's a survivalist. So the cats
- 29:14Speaker 2: are the cats whiskers. Okay, we're done.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's it, We're done, guys, All right, coming up, this
- 29:23Speaker 3: is kf.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I AM sixty. You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
