- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, Pittsburgh, it's Pat from Tarpsoft Radio. Viewer discretion is advised,
- 0:05Speaker 1: and thanks for tuning in. Here we go. Sometimes we're drunk.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Sometimes we're stoned.
- 0:37Speaker 3: We're your Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 0:44Speaker 2: It is time to take your tarps off, Pittsburgh. It's
- 0:46Speaker 2: your formerly Tuesday, now Wednesday morning, 8 a.m. slot on
- 0:49Speaker 2: Tarps Off Radio. I am your host, McGingey. Beside me
- 0:52Speaker 2: is your co-host, Pat, intern producer Doobie behind the boards.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Steelers did what they needed to do this week. They
- 0:57Speaker 2: remain undefeated at home, currently sit at 3-2 now with
- 1:01Speaker 2: an easy one ahead of us. Dare I put this
- 1:03Speaker 2: in the can't lose category? Plenty to talk about today, Pat,
- 1:07Speaker 2: but tell me what kind of day it is. What
- 1:08Speaker 2: are you drinking over there?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh, McGingey, I'm drinking a tall.
- 1:13Speaker 4: What?
- 1:13Speaker 5: What?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Cold what refreshing what wrist what what what what big
- 1:24Speaker 3: gg a captain is dying in my big tall glass
- 1:27Speaker 3: you hear the ice curdling around ah fuck i spilled
- 1:30Speaker 3: a little that's okay stillers are back in the wind column.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Mcginney undefeated at home let's go let's go ready ready
- 1:42Speaker 1: Hell yeah. I'm pretty wet, actually. I don't have any
- 1:45Speaker 1: towels around. I'll figure it out. What a win, though.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You need to pull your kiddie pole out.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Sit in it. I know.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I got an old sweatshirt. It's laundry day tomorrow, so
- 1:56Speaker 1: that's what we're going to clean ourselves with. Let's relax.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Let's relax.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I'm talking about my rum here.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the word.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Yeah, fuck.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Rum doesn't rhyme with anything.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Pat, I'm going underwater today, too. You're going scuba diving?
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'm going scuba diving.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Careful, it's dangerous down there. We've got to tether ourselves.
- 2:22Speaker 1: You can't go alone.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Oh, I joined him. Don't worry.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Scuba, scuba.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Don't venture alone.
- 2:30Speaker 6: Scuba, scuba.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Between the monsoon at the game this week, we're going
- 2:35Speaker 2: down to Florida in hurricane season. We're going to be
- 2:37Speaker 2: spending a lot of time underwater, Pat.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Speaking of underwater, actually not speaking of underwater at all,
- 2:43Speaker 1: Couple changes in the degenerate community this week, McGingy. Before
- 2:48Speaker 1: we get into football talk, did you hear about the
- 2:51Speaker 1: vapes in the slots?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Pat, that was one of the best transitions of all time.
- 2:55Speaker 2: But yes, I heard about the vapes. What kind of
- 2:58Speaker 2: government bullshit is going on, Pat?
- 3:02Speaker 1: I know, the degenerates, man. PA, for those unfamiliar, today
- 3:06Speaker 1: is the Final day of the skill games at the
- 3:11Speaker 1: gas stations and the grocery stores and the bars and
- 3:13Speaker 1: what have you. If you're caught with the skill game
- 3:16Speaker 1: after today, you are subject to a fine.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Bullshit, Pat. Taking away money from all those small businesses
- 3:24Speaker 2: and putting it in the hands of the large casinos.
- 3:27Speaker 2: That's all they're doing.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And Frenchie's Deli got me turned on to the vapes.
- 3:32Speaker 1: They're having a huge vape sale today, Big Gingy. Did
- 3:35Speaker 1: you see that?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Getting rid of all the flavors. You know why, Pat?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Because big, big vapes. Enjoy RJ Reynolds Vapor Company. They're fine.
- 3:45Speaker 1: They're approved products.
- 3:48Speaker 2: No, it's ridiculous. I mean, back-to-back laws being enforced in
- 3:51Speaker 2: the same week. I saw that shenanigans in Castle Shannon.
- 3:55Speaker 5: No.
- 3:56Speaker 1: No.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Well, they got $ 2 Icy Light Nights, and they were
- 4:00Speaker 2: on the news this week saying, hey, you know, we're
- 4:02Speaker 2: no longer going to be able to do the $ 2
- 4:04Speaker 2: Icy Light Nights. Wow, try saying that five times fast
- 4:08Speaker 2: after five beers. $ 2 Icy Light Nights because they were
- 4:13Speaker 2: subsidizing all the cost of that with their skill games.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, that's kind of a cop-out, I think, but,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you know.
- 4:20Speaker 2: No way, dude. They said they were more than covering
- 4:26Speaker 2: their rent in skill games every month.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm not disagreeing with that. Yeah, it's kind of... I mean,
- 4:33Speaker 1: you ever sat down and played one of those things?
- 4:35Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I had a nice time. Where do we go?
- 4:39Speaker 2: It was not shenanigans.
- 4:40Speaker 6: It was.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It might have been shenanigans, but it was off of...
- 4:46Speaker 2: It was in like Ross area, North Hills area. God damn,
- 4:51Speaker 2: they had wings there.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Anyways.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I'm playing the skill games. One of the waitresses looks
- 4:55Speaker 2: over and she goes, play the football one. And I said, oh, okay.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Because I was losing a couple of money. I turned
- 5:02Speaker 2: $ 10 into $ 80 in three minutes and it paid for
- 5:05Speaker 2: my whole meal.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Wow. It was incredible. Money printing machines.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Absolutely. And I don't know if it was shenanigans or
- 5:13Speaker 2: if it was mulligans or if it was like crustaceans
- 5:17Speaker 2: or something like that, dude. It was a one word name.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I was down at the take a break a couple
- 5:24Speaker 1: of years ago and there was this dude on the,
- 5:29Speaker 1: he was riding the Buffalo, right? And once he got,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I'd never played any of those table games. So I
- 5:35Speaker 1: was talking to him about the table games. Turns out
- 5:37Speaker 1: it was Mario Lemieux's former private chef, right? And he
- 5:42Speaker 1: starts telling me about all the shit that used to
- 5:45Speaker 1: happen there. He said, after the Stanley cup, the first cup,
- 5:49Speaker 1: and it was said in oh nine, Everyone like partied
- 5:52Speaker 1: for like a whole weekend at Mario's house. And apparently
- 5:56Speaker 1: Malkin's wife or girlfriend at the time, whatever, would only
- 5:59Speaker 1: eat hot dogs in America. She didn't like any other
- 6:02Speaker 1: food in America. She would only eat hot dogs. So
- 6:05Speaker 1: this guy had to go to giant Eagle and buy
- 6:07Speaker 1: a bunch of packs of hot dogs for Malkin's wife.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Hell yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 2: That's a Pittsburgh. That sounds like an early contender for
- 6:14Speaker 2: yinz or the weak.
- 6:16Speaker 1: He gets on the buff. He's like, I need a
- 6:17Speaker 1: buffalo spotter. And this dude was he was a homosexual.
- 6:20Speaker 7: Right.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I could tell. So he told me he needed a
- 6:23Speaker 1: buffalo spotter. I didn't know exactly what that meant. And
- 6:26Speaker 1: I wasn't too keen on finding out. But then he
- 6:28Speaker 1: sat down at the buffalo machine and he's like, once
- 6:31Speaker 1: I get three of a kind on the buffaloes, you
- 6:33Speaker 1: got to pick a buffalo and then we'll ride the herd.
- 6:36Speaker 1: And then when the herd comes, you got to point
- 6:37Speaker 1: out buffaloes for me to click on, yada, yada, yada.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, whatever. So he's right. He's doing
- 6:42Speaker 1: his thing. I'm pointing at Buffalo's and it's win, win,
- 6:46Speaker 1: free spin, free spin, win, herd, free spin, Buffalo, win,
- 6:50Speaker 1: free spin. Half hour later, this dude's up like $ 600
- 6:53Speaker 1: fucking table games. And yeah, he paid for me and
- 6:57Speaker 1: my buddy's drinks the rest of the night. So that
- 7:00Speaker 1: was my wonderful memory. That was a take a break.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Take a break. Great place. I also, I found the description, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 7:10Speaker 2: The discrepancy between the shenanigans. The one I went to,
- 7:15Speaker 2: shenanigans bar and grill on Babcock Boulevard. The one that's
- 7:19Speaker 2: in the news is spelled differently. It's spelled like shenanigans.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Like someone whose name is Shannon.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Castle Shannon.
- 7:26Speaker 2: That's in Castle.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Castle Shannon. That makes shenanigans. So there are two different
- 7:32Speaker 2: shenanigans that they're talking about.
- 7:34Speaker 1: What's that place with all the shit on the wall
- 7:36Speaker 1: that you like to go to? Hey, Farva. What's that
- 7:40Speaker 1: place with all the shit on the wall you like
- 7:42Speaker 1: to go to? They sing on your birthday?
- 7:43Speaker 2: Shenanigans? They had good wings there over in Babcock. I've
- 7:51Speaker 2: never been to the Castle Shannon one.
- 7:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Well, let's stop.
- 7:56Speaker 2: No longer $ 2 Icy Light Nights. $ 2 Icy Light Nights.
- 7:58Speaker 2: $ 2 Icy Light Nights. Let's stop beating around the bush.
- 8:02Speaker 2: $ 2 Icy Light Nights.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Stop beating around the bush, McGinji. Let's dig in, grab
- 8:06Speaker 1: the cock out of the bush, talk about the Colts game.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Steelers get the ball first, have been hot in the
- 8:23Speaker 2: first quarter lately, but not on this possession. A quick
- 8:26Speaker 2: three and out thanks to an offensive holding call on
- 8:28Speaker 2: a long Jalen Warren run, and Cam Johnston boots it
- 8:31Speaker 2: to Indy. Indy starts at their own 40, good field position,
- 8:35Speaker 2: and a couple Tylan Warren completions put them in field
- 8:37Speaker 2: goal range. Schrader is good from 57 yards out, 3-0 Colts.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Steelers' second possession, now looking to improve on the 3-and-out,
- 8:45Speaker 2: and immediately, Jalen Warren says, this land is my land,
- 8:49Speaker 2: takes a screen pass, 80 yards to the house, Steelers 7,
- 8:53Speaker 2: Colts 3. Terrible coverage, though, on the ensuing kick return,
- 8:56Speaker 2: something we have seen through five weeks now. Colts start
- 9:00Speaker 2: at the Steelers' 43-yard line, but are held without a
- 9:03Speaker 2: first down. Schrader makes another long field goal, this one
- 9:06Speaker 2: good from 56 yards. Steelers 7, Colts 6. On to
- 9:10Speaker 2: the second quarter now, and the Steelers' first possession of
- 9:12Speaker 2: the quarter is a masterclass. 12 plays, 80 yards, 8 minutes,
- 9:16Speaker 2: 38 seconds, capped by a 1-yard touchdown pass to Pat Fryermuth.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Steelers 14, Colts 6. Colts look to answer. Daniel Jones
- 9:25Speaker 2: leads a long answering drive. 11 plays, 71 yards, 5.5 minutes,
- 9:28Speaker 2: and this one, is capped by a one-yard rushing touchdown
- 9:33Speaker 2: to Colts tight end Tyler Warren. Steelers 14, Colts 13.
- 9:36Speaker 2: The next two possessions go. Steelers 3 and out.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Punt. Colts. Punt.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Just over two minutes left in the half. Rodgers would
- 9:45Speaker 2: like to put some points on the board, knowing the
- 9:47Speaker 2: Colts get the ball first. And thanks to a 21-yard
- 9:49Speaker 2: reception by Jeremy Bernard, the Steelers are in field goal range.
- 9:53Speaker 2: And Boz is able to knock one home from 48 yards.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Steelers 17, Colts 13 at halftime. Colts with the ball.
- 10:00Speaker 2: continue to get good field position, this time starting at
- 10:02Speaker 2: the 36. A 29-yard pass to Tyler Warren puts the
- 10:07Speaker 2: Colts in a goal-to-go situation, and Jonathan Taylor cannot punch
- 10:11Speaker 2: it home. Colts settle for their third field goal of
- 10:13Speaker 2: the day. Steelers 17, Colts 16. Back to a one-point game.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Midway through quarter three before Jalen Warren. Jalen Warren breaks
- 10:22Speaker 2: off a long touchdown run. This one from 50 yards.
- 10:26Speaker 2: He now has an 80-yarder and a 50-yarder under his belt.
- 10:30Speaker 2: This land is Warren's land. Steelers 24, Colts 16. Colts
- 10:35Speaker 2: add another field goal. Their fourth of the day. This
- 10:37Speaker 2: one good from 40. Steelers 24, Colts 19. Steelers answer
- 10:41Speaker 2: that with a three and out. We're on to the
- 10:43Speaker 2: fourth quarter.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Still 24-19.
- 10:44Speaker 2: No renegade yet. Colts, what do the Colts do? They
- 10:49Speaker 2: put another field goal on the board. After another possession
- 10:53Speaker 2: starting with good field position, it's been the theme today,
- 10:56Speaker 2: Seahawks 24, Colts 22. Seahawks need to put this game
- 11:00Speaker 2: away now and not give it back to the Colts
- 11:02Speaker 2: in a one-possession game. Rodgers knows the drill. He finds
- 11:05Speaker 2: Jeremy Bernard for 25 yards. Jalen Warren has a few
- 11:08Speaker 2: more quality carries, and Pat Friermuth scores his second of
- 11:11Speaker 2: the day. This one from 17 yards. Steelers up two
- 11:15Speaker 2: possessions now with six and a half to play.
- 11:17Speaker 8: 31-22.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Renegade in suits. The Colts turn it over on downs.
- 11:23Speaker 2: This one's pretty much over. Bods has another field goal
- 11:26Speaker 2: before the game ends. Colts turn it over on downs
- 11:29Speaker 2: one more time. And the Steelers win this one at
- 11:32Speaker 2: Heinz Field.
- 11:32Speaker 8: 34-22.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Steelers 34, Colts 22 down in Heinz Field. Touchdowns, Pat
- 11:42Speaker 2: Friermuth 2, Jalen Warren 2. What a day down on
- 11:47Speaker 2: the North Shore, Pat. We had everything.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. And it was just a great team game
- 11:54Speaker 1: all around McG and G. The receivers were tight ends,
- 11:57Speaker 1: were laying blocks down. Aaron Rodgers was spreading the ball around.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Offensive line held up pretty well, I'd say. Defensive line stuffed, stuffed, stuffed.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor. So definitely a reason to be rock hard today.
- 12:13Speaker 2: All I can think about is how fucking wet I
- 12:16Speaker 2: was Sunday morning between the hours of 7 a.m. and
- 12:22Speaker 2: like 11 a.m. Just soaking wet. That was the worst
- 12:27Speaker 2: tailgate weather I've ever been in, Pat.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:30Speaker 2: I don't even think it's particularly close.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It was warm enough to not snow, but still cold
- 12:37Speaker 1: enough to be freezing, right? It was that, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 1: mid to high 40s and whipping windy fucking rain that
- 12:45Speaker 1: was torrential and all over the place.
- 12:48Speaker 2: There was no solace, Pat. We were under the bridge
- 12:52Speaker 2: and still getting soaked.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you said it.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I didn't hear anything you said there, Pat.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Under the bridge downtown, we're getting shaky and wet.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it was fucked up, Pat. I was an idiot.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I wore joggers and boots. I didn't know how bad
- 13:18Speaker 2: it was going to rain. And Amber was like, wear sweatpants.
- 13:20Speaker 2: So I wore those ones.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Brother, you didn't wear a raincoat. Why are you talking
- 13:24Speaker 1: about your pants?
- 13:24Speaker 2: I had a poncho on. I had a poncho on.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't see you wear it until after the
- 13:29Speaker 1: rain started.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I did wait to put it on.
- 13:32Speaker 1: You had a fleece jacket on.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and a hoodie underneath. And they were soaked. Just soaked, Pat.
- 13:40Speaker 2: And then you get to the game, and it's like
- 13:41Speaker 2: perfect football weather.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I did take all my layers off.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I was fighting the jock itch in the stand, you know,
- 13:49Speaker 1: cause I had so many layers of pants on, I
- 13:51Speaker 1: couldn't take off.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Luckily we had that empty seat in front of us.
- 13:55Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Put all our shit.
- 13:58Speaker 1: It was like a winter.
- 13:59Speaker 2: It was like a winter. You dress like a winter
- 14:00Speaker 2: game and then you show up and it's 60 degrees
- 14:04Speaker 2: and sunny. It was fucked up.
- 14:05Speaker 1: That's why I don't fuck with it. Well, one of
- 14:08Speaker 1: the reasons I don't fuck with indoor stadiums, McGingy, like
- 14:11Speaker 1: imagine for example, if Buffalo had a, had an indoor stadium,
- 14:15Speaker 1: just an example, And we were up in that playoff
- 14:17Speaker 1: game and it was, you know, dress as warm as
- 14:20Speaker 1: you can. It's below freezing and there's snow everywhere. And
- 14:23Speaker 1: then you get into a 70 degree stadium and it's like,
- 14:26Speaker 1: what are you supposed to do? Like where, where does
- 14:28Speaker 1: all your layers go?
- 14:30Speaker 2: They should have a coat check system.
- 14:32Speaker 1: A big, the biggest coach. It should be like the
- 14:34Speaker 1: pride of the country. The big coat check system.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Honestly, that would be incredible. I mean, because you're making sense, Pat.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I mean, you get these
- 14:44Speaker 1: warm weather teams, it doesn't really matter. But yeah, if
- 14:47Speaker 1: you're in like Minnesota and you're outside tailgating and then
- 14:51Speaker 1: you walk into a dome stadium.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I wonder how many employees you would have to, like
- 14:56Speaker 2: how many coat check people you'd have to hire for
- 14:58Speaker 2: that to work.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I mean, we'll get some engineers on. We'll go through
- 15:04Speaker 1: the details another time.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Should I ask Kroc?
- 15:08Speaker 1: No.
- 15:10Speaker 8: No.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Okay okay okay uh yeah yeah i guess you'd strip
- 15:17Speaker 1: down before you get into the stadium and and you'd
- 15:19Speaker 1: have the coldest fucking half mile walk depending on where
- 15:22Speaker 1: you tailgate.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah what would i ask exactly if highmark stadium had
- 15:28Speaker 2: a coat check system.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Well say what's at m & t bank stadium for
- 15:33Speaker 1: the uh the.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Vikings that's the that's the ravens.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Okay what's the vikings u.s bank Yeah, that sounds right.
- 15:41Speaker 1: US Bank, yeah.
- 15:42Speaker 2: You had a coat check system for Winter Games. How
- 15:47Speaker 2: many employees would need to work that coat? This might
- 15:57Speaker 2: be the dumbest question. I didn't ask Rock like you
- 16:01Speaker 2: told me to, so I asked ChatGPT. Let's see what
- 16:03Speaker 2: they say. Yeah, I don't know. A coat check system.
- 16:15Speaker 2: ChatGPT is saying that you could do it with 30
- 16:20Speaker 2: to 50 employees for a well-organized, full-service code check operation.
- 16:25Speaker 1: That would be a disaster. You would need one per section.
- 16:29Speaker 2: You might need two per section. Okay, here it comes now.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Large operation with faster post-game pickup, 50 to 70 plus.
- 16:45Speaker 2: That's still, I don't know, man. I wonder if there's
- 16:49Speaker 2: any engineers out there. I wonder if there's any NFL
- 16:51Speaker 2: teams with a coat check system. That's probably what we
- 16:53Speaker 2: would need to look up, Pat. You there, Pat?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just hanging tight.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm ready to get off the coat system if
- 17:08Speaker 2: you are.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I've been trying to get off the coat check system
- 17:16Speaker 1: for three minutes now.
- 17:17Speaker 2: All right. Let's talk. Let's talk the game.
- 17:23Speaker 1: What did you think? Let me start here. Make Gingy
- 17:26Speaker 1: rate report card. Give a report card grade for Pat
- 17:30Speaker 1: Graham's defense. This game.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I Graham's defense.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Oh, we be.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'd give it a B as well. I mean, we're
- 17:39Speaker 1: right there. They obviously came in with a plan and
- 17:43Speaker 1: they executed the plan, right? Stop Jonathan Taylor at all costs.
- 17:47Speaker 1: They were without Derek Harmon, their best run defender, and
- 17:50Speaker 1: they had a defensive line by committee approach that completely
- 17:55Speaker 1: shut down Jonathan Taylor, only 45 yards on the ground,
- 17:58Speaker 1: lowest total all season. But apart from that, I mean,
- 18:03Speaker 1: it did look a little rough. They didn't force any turnovers. Technically,
- 18:07Speaker 1: They had a sack, but it was one sack for
- 18:09Speaker 1: one yard. So I don't even know.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he was scrambling a little bit and,
- 18:13Speaker 2: you know, it looked like almost like a run and
- 18:15Speaker 2: he kind of got back to the line of scrimmage.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Cam Hayward, though, had the sack, credit for it.
- 18:21Speaker 1: So we'll give him a sack, but at.
- 18:22Speaker 2: The same time. Jonathan Taylor now, like you said, against
- 18:25Speaker 2: the Steelers, still doesn't have a 100-yard rushing game. And
- 18:29Speaker 2: this is the second game in a row we've held
- 18:31Speaker 2: him under 50.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Under 50, yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, 45 yards both times.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 18:35Speaker 2: And no touchdown. We've kind of figured him out.
- 18:39Speaker 1: And Mike McCarthy and Pat Graham, they were both asked
- 18:41Speaker 1: if they watched last year's game and they said, yeah, absolutely.
- 18:45Speaker 1: McCarthy noted that it was a little bit of a
- 18:48Speaker 1: weird game because of the six turnovers. But yeah, I mean,
- 18:52Speaker 1: they both said the run defense against such a great
- 18:56Speaker 1: quarterback or excuse me, running back and Jonathan Taylor was
- 18:58Speaker 1: something that they certainly studied and tried to implement from
- 19:02Speaker 1: last year into this game. So.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and remember how badly we got beat by that
- 19:06Speaker 2: team in 2024 with Joe Flacco at quarterback after Anthony
- 19:10Speaker 2: Richardson got hurt. Taylor with 88 yards and a touchdown
- 19:14Speaker 2: in that game as well. So bottling him up surely
- 19:17Speaker 2: is the key.
- 19:18Speaker 1: And the Colts only have one regular season win at
- 19:22Speaker 1: Heinz Field, or in Pittsburgh, I should say.
- 19:26Speaker 2: What? Since when?
- 19:28Speaker 10: I think they have two wins.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Ever?
- 19:31Speaker 1: Yeah, since ever.
- 19:33Speaker 2: No way.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I think all time, they're 2-18, including the playoffs.
- 19:42Speaker 2: That's a crazy stat, Pat.
- 19:44Speaker 1: That's not even a Pat stat.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Wow. Oh my gosh.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they're 28-8 all-time against the Colts.
- 19:56Speaker 9: Wow.
- 19:57Speaker 2: The Colts franchise has won two games in Pittsburgh. September 29th, 1968.
- 20:01Speaker 2: And that was when they were in Baltimore. And then
- 20:06Speaker 2: November 9th, 2008. The Colts won 24 to 20. That's
- 20:10Speaker 2: a crazy stat. That's a good one, man. If that's
- 20:13Speaker 2: not even a Pat stat, I wonder what those are
- 20:15Speaker 2: going to be like.
- 20:15Speaker 1: That's got some good stats.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Oh, ho, ho, ho. Ho, ho, ho. Ho, ho, ho, ho.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Pat.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I'm excited. Can we start now?
- 20:24Speaker 1: Well, let me ask you this. McJingy with two injuries
- 20:28Speaker 1: to wide receivers, Roman Wilson. And with Roman Wilson being down,
- 20:33Speaker 1: You'd expect Ben Skronic to get some extra snaps on offense.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Now he's out as well. What do you think the
- 20:39Speaker 1: Steelers do going into Tampa Bay? Do they look around
- 20:42Speaker 1: the NFL free agency trade-wise? Do they dig into the
- 20:45Speaker 1: practice squad? What do you think?
- 20:48Speaker 2: They got a wide receiver right in their back pocket.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I'm glad that you brought this up. Do you know
- 20:52Speaker 2: what his name is?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Is it the Lebo Boyer?
- 20:56Speaker 2: It's the Swiffer. It's the Swiffer. It's the Swiffer. It's
- 21:01Speaker 2: time to see what he's got, Matt. And he's going
- 21:03Speaker 2: to earn, he's going to earn his opportunity right now. Sure.
- 21:10Speaker 2: If he goes out there and has three catches for
- 21:13Speaker 2: 40 yards, I'd say that's enough.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I mean that far down the depth chart, I'd say
- 21:20Speaker 1: that's enough. I don't think they need to look around
- 21:23Speaker 1: the rest of the league right now. Especially it being,
- 21:27Speaker 1: you know, when you're listening to this Wednesday and the
- 21:29Speaker 1: game on Sunday. So, We'll see, though, potentially before the
- 21:34Speaker 1: Paris game or after the Paris game, depending on the health. But, yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 1: I mean, they have Brandon Smith as well. They have
- 21:41Speaker 1: our boy Max Herleman. They could look to from the
- 21:45Speaker 1: practice squad. Never had an NFL snap, but we've seen
- 21:48Speaker 1: him be the preseason and training camp darling.
- 21:52Speaker 2: No, and Mike McCarthy was asked about Brandon Smith and
- 21:56Speaker 2: Swiffer Wetjet today. And he said, yeah, both of those guys,
- 22:00Speaker 2: he kind of gave a political answer when he was
- 22:02Speaker 2: asked both of those guys, you know, both of those
- 22:07Speaker 2: guys have earned it. I have faith in those guys.
- 22:10Speaker 2: You know, we'll see as the week goes on.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Sure.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Very Tomlin-esque answer. Although these, these McCarthy Mondays, I'm
- 22:18Speaker 2: starting to like Pat. Have you been watching? Yeah. I,
- 22:25Speaker 2: Much more boring than the Tomlin ones.
- 22:28Speaker 1: I mean, it's a day earlier, and I don't think
- 22:31Speaker 1: McCarthy does this in general, but we don't get a
- 22:33Speaker 1: lot of injury updates, at least not like Mike Tomlin.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Mike Tomlin would come to the podium after games and
- 22:40Speaker 1: address injuries, and he was a lot clearer, I felt like,
- 22:45Speaker 1: with addressing injuries than Mike McCarthy.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd rather take vagueness on the injuries than just,
- 22:53Speaker 2: you know, like funny catchphrases. McCarthy's actually breaking things down
- 23:01Speaker 2: to reporters and the reporters in turn are now asking
- 23:04Speaker 2: good questions.
- 23:05Speaker 1: He said the Steelers had to read up their house.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Do you hear that?
- 23:09Speaker 2: He's right.
- 23:10Speaker 1: He said we cleaned or as we say in Pittsburgh,
- 23:13Speaker 1: we read up our house.
- 23:15Speaker 2: He's right. He's right. I didn't even notice that. Maybe
- 23:18Speaker 2: that's just my subconscious kicking in, liking this guy. I'm
- 23:22Speaker 2: just excited, man. That offense looked so good this week.
- 23:25Speaker 2: We haven't seen anything like that in a long time.
- 23:28Speaker 2: All across the board, play calling was good. Blocking was good.
- 23:34Speaker 2: We ran the ball efficiently. It was play calling, especially,
- 23:38Speaker 2: really good, I thought, Pat.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah, that's 30-plus points in back-to-back home games, McGingey. Uh,
- 23:46Speaker 1: so you love to, you love.
- 23:48Speaker 2: To see the last time that happens.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I had the stat, but I didn't write that one down. Unfortunately,
- 23:54Speaker 1: I think it was fleeting stat 28. I'm not, I
- 23:57Speaker 1: can't even guess. I I'm disappointed in myself. I knew
- 24:00Speaker 1: the answer to that and I I'm blanking, but, uh, yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 1: 30 points against, uh, the Bengals. And then obviously we
- 24:08Speaker 1: went out there against the Colts, put up 34 points and,
- 24:12Speaker 1: Like you said, I thought the play calling was good.
- 24:14Speaker 1: It was just this offense finally has an identity. It
- 24:18Speaker 1: took five weeks, and we saw some glimpses in some
- 24:22Speaker 1: games here or there, but they started putting the ball
- 24:25Speaker 1: in the hands of their playmakers, McGinji. Let's get into
- 24:28Speaker 1: some Pat stats. I dedicated a whole mini section of
- 24:32Speaker 1: Pat stats to Jalen Ward.
- 24:33Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 24:34Speaker 2: 187 total yards.
- 24:35Speaker 1: He accounted for 53%. of all the offensive yards we
- 24:42Speaker 1: had on Sunday.
- 24:43Speaker 8: Wow.
- 24:44Speaker 1: This is a stat that everyone's heard, I feel like.
- 24:49Speaker 1: You'd have to be living under a cock to not
- 24:50Speaker 1: have heard this in Pittsburgh. But he's the first player
- 24:55Speaker 1: in the NFL since Herschel Walker in 1986 to record
- 24:59Speaker 1: an 80-yard touchdown reception and a 50-yard touchdown run in
- 25:04Speaker 1: the same game. And he's one of the few Steelers
- 25:08Speaker 1: running backs to do that in a season As well,
- 25:11Speaker 1: I think you have to go back to James Conner
- 25:13Speaker 1: to get the last time there was an 80-yard touchdown
- 25:16Speaker 1: in a running or reception and a 50-yard touchdown in
- 25:20Speaker 1: the run from the same player in the same season.
- 25:21Speaker 1: So doing some really cool stuff.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I got a Jalen Warren side stat for you. Let
- 25:27Speaker 2: me know whenever you're ready.
- 25:30Speaker 1: His 187 all-purpose yards mark his third consecutive week of
- 25:35Speaker 1: at least 125 all-purpose yards. No Steelers player had done
- 25:40Speaker 1: that in three straight weeks since James Connor in 2018.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Wow. That James Connor guy must've been pretty good.
- 25:49Speaker 1: He, I was watching, was it the Colts Packers? I
- 25:54Speaker 1: was watching an old Steeler game from 2018 and James,
- 25:57Speaker 1: it was the emergence of James Connor. And yeah, it was,
- 26:01Speaker 1: he had a hell of, I mean, he had a,
- 26:03Speaker 1: he's had a good career, but once that Lev Bell
- 26:06Speaker 1: holdout year, man, he really stepped up.
- 26:10Speaker 6: What could have been, In Warren's five-year career, he has
- 26:16Speaker 6: played more than 60% of offensive snaps only nine times
- 26:22Speaker 6: in 69 career games.
- 26:23Speaker 8: Wow.
- 26:25Speaker 2: That number needs to go up.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it will. And it should have been up this
- 26:28Speaker 1: whole time. I mean, we've had him for the past
- 26:33Speaker 1: five years, and this is the first time I feel
- 26:35Speaker 1: like he's actually being utilized to how he should be utilized.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Greenware, you got another?
- 26:42Speaker 1: What's your Jalen Warren stat?
- 26:45Speaker 2: 8.3 yards per attempt versus a stacked box.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Is that pro football reference?
- 26:54Speaker 2: I don't know where I got that stat, Pat.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Yeah, they do some good work over there. I think
- 26:58Speaker 1: that's where it was.
- 27:01Speaker 2: 8.3 yards per attempt versus a stacked box.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Let's see if I can quickly find Jalen Warren's yards
- 27:10Speaker 1: per After contact.
- 27:14Speaker 2: He's got the highest yak in the league.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 5: 291.
- 27:18Speaker 2: And the next player is at like 208, I think.
- 27:26Speaker 2: He's doing amazing alien things.
- 27:29Speaker 1: 79 yards after contact. Just against the Colts on Sunday.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Wow.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Insane.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Well. Let's get into some team-related Pat stats. Mick Gingy.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Two and two in the red zone. I want to
- 27:47Speaker 1: keep it simple with this one. Two and two on
- 27:49Speaker 1: offense in the red zone. Two trips, two touchdowns. Really,
- 27:53Speaker 1: really struggled this year to get anything going in the
- 27:56Speaker 1: red zone. And just to, you know, get back on
- 28:00Speaker 1: track going two for two was something I was really
- 28:04Speaker 1: happy to see.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Great stats.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Steelers are averaging 28 points per game at home now, McGingey.
- 28:16Speaker 2: And they're three and undefeated and undefeated at home. That's
- 28:19Speaker 2: because we're fucking bringing it this year, Pat.
- 28:22Speaker 1: This is something I wanted to have a quick little
- 28:25Speaker 1: chat about the defense, too. I mean, they did what
- 28:28Speaker 1: they had to do. McGingey, we won the game. We
- 28:31Speaker 1: both gave it a B, right? Steelers had one sack
- 28:35Speaker 1: for one yard and zero turnovers. The last time the
- 28:39Speaker 1: Steelers had one or less sacks and no turnovers was
- 28:43Speaker 1: week eight last year against the Packers, and they lost 35-25. Wow.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I'm not going to complain because the defense did enough,
- 28:53Speaker 1: but this has been a trend now. We're five weeks in,
- 28:56Speaker 1: and we're just not getting turnovers like we did in
- 28:59Speaker 1: a Terrell Austin scheme.
- 29:01Speaker 2: They're playing that very soft– coverage as well. And did
- 29:05Speaker 2: you see this week that Patrick Graham moved down onto
- 29:07Speaker 2: the field?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a Mike McCarthy decision, actually. Mike McCarthy said,
- 29:12Speaker 1: get the fuck down here.
- 29:15Speaker 2: The way McCarthy explained it, he said, play calling is
- 29:17Speaker 2: easier from the booth, but the player communication is more
- 29:21Speaker 2: valuable than the play calling, which is something we never
- 29:25Speaker 2: would have heard from Tom. Tom would have said, I
- 29:28Speaker 2: like my forks on the left side, my spoons on
- 29:30Speaker 2: the right. Sometimes you can have the spoon on the
- 29:33Speaker 2: left and the fork on the right.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, an eagle likes to hunt from above,
- 29:37Speaker 1: but he got to sink his towels into a fish
- 29:40Speaker 1: on the water.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah. They're playing that soft zone and it's not something
- 29:50Speaker 2: we've seen out of the Steelers ever in the Mike
- 29:52Speaker 2: Tomlin era, really. And I'm wondering Pat, if that's because
- 29:56Speaker 2: of the personnel that they have, you know, being depleted
- 29:59Speaker 2: in the secondary, you know, no Dean, obviously no JPJ
- 30:02Speaker 2: going into the season. Jalen Ramsey's got a broken wrist.
- 30:06Speaker 2: No Deshaun Elliott, you know, their secondary is very depleted.
- 30:10Speaker 2: So maybe they don't trust them enough in order to
- 30:14Speaker 2: play some pressure, but I don't know. I'd like to
- 30:17Speaker 2: see the Steelers get some sacks. I think that's the
- 30:20Speaker 2: one thing that I'm a little concerned about right now
- 30:22Speaker 2: is the lack of pressure and a good team like Pat, like,
- 30:27Speaker 2: the chiefs are going to carve that defense up.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Absolutely. And the lack of pressure has been my most
- 30:34Speaker 1: frustrating point with Pat Graham. Something that I will say though,
- 30:38Speaker 1: compliment to him is that we saw the same defense
- 30:42Speaker 1: pretty much every game under Terrell Austin. And, you know,
- 30:46Speaker 1: you could say even post Dick LeBeau, Mike Tomlin, right?
- 30:50Speaker 1: I mean, it just, it didn't seem like they were
- 30:52Speaker 1: adjusting enough weekend and week out matchup to matchup every
- 30:56Speaker 1: single game. It was, You know, bend, don't break. We
- 30:58Speaker 1: got to get two, three turnovers. It doesn't matter how
- 31:00Speaker 1: many yards we give up. We just got to hold
- 31:03Speaker 1: them tight in the red zone. That was like a
- 31:05Speaker 1: cookie cutter. Every single opponent, every single offensive scheme. But
- 31:09Speaker 1: we've seen Patrick Graham week in and week out so far.
- 31:12Speaker 1: And this is what we expected to see from a
- 31:14Speaker 1: guy like him who really didn't have any calling cards.
- 31:17Speaker 6: Right.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Learned under Bill Belichick, talked about Bill Belichick's emphasis on
- 31:21Speaker 1: matchup to matchup. And that's something that, uh, to his credit,
- 31:26Speaker 1: Pat Graham has, has been doing so far this year.
- 31:28Speaker 2: It's definitely more creative, more innovative while at the same
- 31:32Speaker 2: time being just as conservative, if that's fair to say.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Sure. So we'll see where it ends up at the
- 31:41Speaker 1: end of the year. This certainly doesn't look like statistically
- 31:43Speaker 1: a top five defense, uh, at this point, maybe even
- 31:48Speaker 1: a borderline top 10 defense, excuse me, but, uh, If
- 31:51Speaker 1: we're winning football games and you look at it from
- 31:54Speaker 1: a micro perspective instead of a macro perspective of the
- 31:58Speaker 1: whole season, you look at it game to game, we'll
- 32:02Speaker 1: analyze it that way going forward, McChinchy.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, would you give him a B?
- 32:07Speaker 1: I gave him a B as well.
- 32:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:09Speaker 1: A B is a good passing grade.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think there are a couple stats, Pat,
- 32:15Speaker 2: I'll bring up in the defense of this defense. Third downs,
- 32:20Speaker 2: they're 7th. And red zone touchdown rate, they're sixth. So
- 32:25Speaker 2: they are not breaking. They are playing soft, but they're
- 32:29Speaker 2: getting third down stops and they're getting stops in the
- 32:31Speaker 2: red zone.
- 32:33Speaker 1: And they've been, I'm trying to think back to every game,
- 32:36Speaker 1: but they've been good against the run. I mean, even
- 32:39Speaker 1: Bijon didn't, you know, win them the game, right? He
- 32:42Speaker 1: didn't blow that game open. So pretty stout against the
- 32:46Speaker 1: run overall, I'd say, especially without, you know, Derek Harmon
- 32:50Speaker 1: and getting some new bodies in there. We saw Gabe Rubio.
- 32:53Speaker 1: He played really well. We saw them get creative with
- 32:57Speaker 1: how they deployed, you know, Cam and, and, and Benton
- 33:01Speaker 1: and YA black. I thought he played a pretty solid
- 33:03Speaker 1: game as well.
- 33:05Speaker 2: They all, the big boys play all played solid and
- 33:07Speaker 2: the lost and soft brothers weren't ruining anything.
- 33:12Speaker 1: There was a snap where Pam Hayward was lined up
- 33:17Speaker 1: as like a defensive end. And Nick Herbig was, lined
- 33:20Speaker 1: up over the a gap. And I was like, what
- 33:22Speaker 1: the hell? I mean, it ended up.
- 33:23Speaker 2: A couple of third downs where TJ was on the
- 33:25Speaker 2: other side.
- 33:26Speaker 1: It was, it felt like it was quite a bit. Yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought on a couple of third downs and if,
- 33:32Speaker 2: if you're Daniel Jones and TJ flip size, so even,
- 33:37Speaker 2: even knowing that he's not as successful over there, your
- 33:40Speaker 2: mind is going to be thinking about that.
- 33:42Speaker 1: The blind side. Yep.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Either way. I think it's, it's just not a look
- 33:47Speaker 2: you're used to. and at least some of your attention
- 33:51Speaker 2: is drawn and even if TJ doesn't get beat he's
- 33:54Speaker 2: altering the play in some way that's the type of
- 33:56Speaker 2: thing he does.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Sure sure and something that I think Pat Graham needs
- 34:01Speaker 1: to improve upon and just switch up a little bit
- 34:04Speaker 1: shake up and we've been talking about this very broadly
- 34:07Speaker 1: but not as specific as we would probably need to
- 34:11Speaker 1: just dialing up pressures right I He hasn't been blitzing much.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I think he's just a little overconfident that the front
- 34:20Speaker 1: four can get some pressure right with our linebackers and
- 34:23Speaker 1: defensive tackles. So we really haven't seen it when he's
- 34:27Speaker 1: rushing for a whole lot of pressure and getting home
- 34:30Speaker 1: to the quarterback. I don't think this week against this
- 34:33Speaker 1: upcoming week against the Buccaneers is necessarily the right time
- 34:37Speaker 1: either to dial up your blitz percentage. We can talk
- 34:40Speaker 1: about that towards the end of the episode, but That's
- 34:43Speaker 1: something moving forward. They're going to have to get more
- 34:45Speaker 1: pressure on the quarterback.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yeah, let's move into some studs, Pat. You want to
- 34:49Speaker 2: give us the first one?
- 34:50Speaker 1: Yeah, this one, we'll see how you feel about this,
- 34:55Speaker 1: but I wanted to include it. DK Metcalf.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I left this game enjoying DK's company on this team.
- 35:05Speaker 1: That's a good way to put it. Yeah.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I just remember having a thought like, I don't care
- 35:11Speaker 2: what his– Stat line was, you know, where it looks
- 35:14Speaker 2: like in the box score. I was happy he was
- 35:16Speaker 2: a stealer this week.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Exactly. No, exactly. Box. His stats were not great. I
- 35:21Speaker 1: think he had, what, three catches for like 13 yards.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Let me get his exact.
- 35:27Speaker 2: That's three catches for 12 yards. Almost, Matt.
- 35:30Speaker 1: OK, you got it. Perfect. Three catches, 12 yards. But
- 35:32Speaker 1: that Jalen Warren run, it would not have been a touchdown.
- 35:36Speaker 1: if DK didn't have two great blocks near the sideline there.
- 35:40Speaker 1: And he was just– he was playing aggressive, right? He's
- 35:44Speaker 1: not bitching about not getting touches. He's being a great–
- 35:47Speaker 1: he's just one of the best blocking and one of
- 35:50Speaker 1: the best effort wide receivers in the National Football League.
- 35:53Speaker 1: And what a contrast to what we've had the past
- 35:55Speaker 1: few seasons.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Yeah, well, what a contrast we've had out of DK
- 35:59Speaker 2: at times as well. I mean, we can play devil's
- 36:01Speaker 2: advocate a little bit here. But I– I'm liking this
- 36:05Speaker 2: team in general, Pat. I think there's a lot. I
- 36:07Speaker 2: think the team's going to come together. I think there's
- 36:09Speaker 2: a lot of guys with attitude that have that heart,
- 36:12Speaker 2: have that drive. We just need to see it be
- 36:15Speaker 2: more consistent.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Absolutely. Who's your stud? Aaron Rodgers.
- 36:19Speaker 5: Rodgers.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Hey, Rodgers.
- 36:21Speaker 11: Rodgers stat line, 22-31, 235 and three touchdowns.
- 36:28Speaker 2: The yard's not there. Obviously, 80 of them coming off
- 36:35Speaker 2: that big Jalen Warren run. But Rodgers in the last
- 36:38Speaker 2: three games now, nine touchdowns, three interceptions, and two of
- 36:43Speaker 2: those interceptions were drops by the wide receiver and one
- 36:46Speaker 2: was a Hail Mary. So realistically, none of them are
- 36:50Speaker 2: at fault or in bad positions there. That's the first
- 36:54Speaker 2: time he's had three touchdowns, three games in a row
- 36:59Speaker 2: since his MVP season in 2021. Hell yeah. Is that
- 37:04Speaker 2: the Rodgers we're getting this year, Pat?
- 37:05Speaker 1: My bold prediction, over 4,000 passing yards from Aaron Rodgers.
- 37:10Speaker 1: He's on pace for 4,200 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
- 37:18Speaker 2: I don't think those interceptions are all going to be there.
- 37:21Speaker 1: No. I only really consider one of them his fault
- 37:26Speaker 1: or a bad throw. It was that one against the
- 37:30Speaker 1: Browns where he just airmailed it. But His arm got hit. Yeah,
- 37:34Speaker 1: and his arm got hit. But still, that was not
- 37:36Speaker 1: a great decision to throw that ball there. You have
- 37:40Speaker 1: a Hail Mary pass or at least a deep pass.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I think you had two of those. One was at
- 37:44Speaker 1: the end of a half. You had that Roman Wilson
- 37:47Speaker 1: hit off the hands.
- 37:49Speaker 2: And then you had the Jeremy Bernard drop.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I don't remember that. I don't remember the one again.
- 37:55Speaker 2: It was on a screen.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't remember. But Rodgers, not a big interception
- 38:01Speaker 1: thrower in general. So you're right. Yeah, I don't see 13.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I could see 34 and 10, 34 and 9 with 4,000 yards.
- 38:11Speaker 2: They're definitely throwing the ball in the red zone, too.
- 38:16Speaker 1: It would be funny if Aaron Rodgers had another 4,000-yard
- 38:19Speaker 1: season before the Chicago Bears have had one in franchise history.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and they probably won't get one this year with
- 38:29Speaker 2: Caleb being hurt.
- 38:30Speaker 10: Yep.
- 38:33Speaker 2: I wonder what the Steelers' pass percentage in the red
- 38:35Speaker 2: zone is this year, because I feel like it's high.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Is that me?
- 38:43Speaker 1: I'm thinking right now. I mean, their pass percentage in
- 38:46Speaker 1: general has been very high this year. They've also done
- 38:52Speaker 1: a lot of, and I don't have any data, but
- 38:56Speaker 1: I feel like they've done a lot of screens and
- 39:00Speaker 1: and kind of short passes too, as opposed to runs
- 39:02Speaker 1: in the red zone. That might be what you and
- 39:04Speaker 1: I are thinking of.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking of.
- 39:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Either way, give us the next stud.
- 39:12Speaker 1: This person, this stud, not person, this stud, he almost
- 39:18Speaker 1: didn't make the list, but I couldn't keep him off
- 39:21Speaker 1: Jeremy Bernard. I was hesitant to give him all the
- 39:25Speaker 1: flowers in the world. Cause he did drop that one
- 39:28Speaker 1: pass over the middle. on that free play that, you know,
- 39:31Speaker 1: it was just not a good drop, but all in
- 39:34Speaker 1: all for the rookie looked pretty solid out there. I'm
- 39:37Speaker 1: not concerned about his hands long-term make Gingy still believe
- 39:42Speaker 1: that he's going to be a solid receiver. So shout
- 39:45Speaker 1: out to his first big, kind of coming out game.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Let's get his final stat line here.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Six catches, 80 yards.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Six for 80. And he was just dependable, like dependably open.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Couple long ones.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Couple long ones. They threw the, you know, put the
- 40:02Speaker 1: ball in his hands on a screen pass. He picked
- 40:04Speaker 1: up five or six.
- 40:05Speaker 2: The big thing I liked about Jerm is that even
- 40:07Speaker 2: his mistake, that drop he had in the middle of
- 40:09Speaker 2: the field, it was on that offsides play. He ran
- 40:12Speaker 2: to the right spot. after, you know, him and Rogers
- 40:16Speaker 2: both recognizing being on the same page, Rogers hit that
- 40:19Speaker 2: spot and just a drop. It wasn't a mental mistake.
- 40:23Speaker 2: It was a, you know, a physical one. You can
- 40:24Speaker 2: take that.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And you know what I love? I feel like this
- 40:27Speaker 1: gets overlooked a lot, especially when we're talking about rookies.
- 40:31Speaker 1: He made that mistake. He had that drop and it
- 40:33Speaker 1: didn't affect him at all. Like he got right back up,
- 40:37Speaker 1: continued playing and earned himself a, tarps off stud designation
- 40:41Speaker 1: after that.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Here's a stat for you, Pat. Jeremy Bernard, 13 receptions
- 40:45Speaker 2: for 140 yards. Makai Lemon, 15 receptions for 108. Yeah,
- 40:51Speaker 2: hell yeah. That's your boy.
- 40:53Speaker 1: And Jerm too. He's been, obviously he's a very willing
- 40:56Speaker 1: and capable blocker as well.
- 41:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 2: And he wears the guardian cap. He's protecting his brain.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Makai Lemon's brain is just gone. He already can't really
- 41:08Speaker 2: speak that well.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Jerem is, he's a follower of Christ as well.
- 41:13Speaker 5: In Jesus.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Absolutely. Why don't you give us a start? What are
- 41:18Speaker 1: you going to say, dude? Did you chime in?
- 41:21Speaker 5: I just said, amen. Oh, okay.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Amen.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I want to talk about Pat Friermuth. Two touchdowns again.
- 41:28Speaker 2: And I want to give a big shout out to Simon,
- 41:30Speaker 2: our caller. He places a Pat Friermuth two touchdown bet.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Calls it the gun bet. And when it hits, he
- 41:39Speaker 2: buys me a gun. So I got a nice new
- 41:41Speaker 2: pistol coming. Wanted to put a shout out to Simon
- 41:44Speaker 2: for making it happen. And maybe we get another gun
- 41:48Speaker 2: bet in the future.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Hell yeah. And shout out to Muth looking a lot
- 41:52Speaker 1: better blocking this year. Better than he ever has. I
- 41:56Speaker 1: can only recall two times this year that I've been
- 41:59Speaker 1: frustrated about Muth's blocking. And that was what game was that?
- 42:03Speaker 1: I think that was the Patriots game. where I remember
- 42:06Speaker 1: making it up on the podcast, they had Darnell on
- 42:10Speaker 1: the right side and Muth on the left, and they
- 42:12Speaker 1: started the game with two outside runs to the left side,
- 42:15Speaker 1: and Muth kind of got blown up. But apart from that,
- 42:18Speaker 1: he's been hitting his blocks this year. That was something
- 42:21Speaker 1: he's always struggled with, and I've seen so much improvement
- 42:25Speaker 1: in this game was, apart from his two touchdowns, really
- 42:29Speaker 1: a catalyst for some good things ahead from him, McGingey.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 42:34Speaker 1: I'm not saying there's not a tight end room you'd
- 42:39Speaker 1: take because one or two great players, but is this
- 42:42Speaker 1: the best one-two tight end punch in the NFL right now?
- 42:45Speaker 2: It's one of the most expensive. You're paying both of
- 42:50Speaker 2: these guys $ 10 million.
- 42:51Speaker 1: It's a very squirrel-hole way to look at it, McGingy.
- 42:56Speaker 2: No, I like Muth. Here's a thought, Pat. Darnell Washington
- 43:00Speaker 2: catches another few balls. He did not get brought to
- 43:04Speaker 2: the ground. They blew the whistle a couple times. I
- 43:07Speaker 2: want to know how many times he actually gets tackled.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Not he goes out of bounds. Not they blow the
- 43:14Speaker 2: whistle because there's four or five guys grabbing him on
- 43:17Speaker 2: each leg. I want to know how many times he's
- 43:21Speaker 2: been brought to the ground. Not that many.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Not that many.
- 43:27Speaker 2: He was tackled on that long one. Was that against
- 43:31Speaker 2: the Falcons?
- 43:32Speaker 5: Week one?
- 43:33Speaker 1: I think he was tackled as well in this game once, too.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Because I remember he said that in the stands. I'll
- 43:40Speaker 1: have to go back and look.
- 43:41Speaker 2: I rewatched the whole game today. He didn't get tackled.
- 43:45Speaker 2: There were four or five dudes on him, wrapping him up.
- 43:47Speaker 2: They blew the whistle.
- 43:50Speaker 1: How many receptions did he have this game? Two. Okay.
- 43:55Speaker 2: All right. We'll have to check the other one. We'll
- 43:58Speaker 2: have to check the tape. We'll have to check the tape.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Check the all 22. Look up Darnell Washington. You know,
- 44:04Speaker 2: we'll be good. Why don't you give us the horse dick, Pat?
- 44:07Speaker 1: Well, I have some shout outs to on the D line.
- 44:11Speaker 1: I thought played pretty well. I'm just going to give
- 44:13Speaker 1: it to the D line across the board. We didn't
- 44:15Speaker 1: have any individual standout performance, but when you hold one
- 44:20Speaker 1: of the best running backs in the league to 45
- 44:22Speaker 1: yards and you look good doing it, you're plugging gaps.
- 44:26Speaker 1: You get, You get rookies, rookie six-rounders who even the
- 44:30Speaker 1: best analysts in the world didn't have on their sheet
- 44:33Speaker 1: at all come the draft. That's the reason to be excited, McGinsey.
- 44:38Speaker 1: So shout out to D-line. Maybe an honorable mention to
- 44:41Speaker 1: the O-line as well, potentially. We'll get into that in
- 44:44Speaker 1: a second. But the horse dick, it couldn't be anyone else, McGinsey.
- 44:49Speaker 1: It couldn't be anyone else.
- 44:50Speaker 2: It's Jalen Ward.
- 44:54Speaker 5: Eight and a half inch dick. You mean like a
- 44:56Speaker 5: horsey boner?
- 45:01Speaker 1: How's that for a nay, you fucking cold fucks?
- 45:04Speaker 2: Seth DeFlo, you piece of shit.
- 45:07Speaker 1: You're lucky.
- 45:07Speaker 2: You're lucky. You're lucky the Etsy witch wasn't contacted this week, buddy.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Your life would have been over.
- 45:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he did call it. You know, Warren's land.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Best game of Warren's career. Shout out Seth DeFlo.
- 45:23Speaker 2: What an idiot. What an idiot, dude. He's already getting
- 45:27Speaker 2: hate in the comments, deservedly so.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Why don't we brush past that? Because we talked about
- 45:33Speaker 1: Jalen Warden quite a bit already. Any stiffs you want
- 45:36Speaker 1: to address?
- 45:38Speaker 2: Yes, yes. The return team is just not getting it done,
- 45:42Speaker 2: both on coverage and in the return, in protection. It's
- 45:46Speaker 2: just terrible, Pat. And I got some bad stats here.
- 45:49Speaker 2: I got some bad stats here, Pat. Swiffer wet jet
- 45:53Speaker 2: 42nd out of 44 in qualified kick returners and 16th
- 45:57Speaker 2: out of 20 in punt returning. Not looking good. His
- 46:01Speaker 2: vision's not there. At the same time, it's not all
- 46:05Speaker 2: on him. The coverage and the protection's been terrible, but
- 46:09Speaker 2: we need to see more.
- 46:11Speaker 1: This special teams in general sucks, McGinchey. It's poorly coached.
- 46:16Speaker 1: The players are not playing well. Ben Skronick's the only
- 46:19Speaker 1: one who I think has been having a good year
- 46:22Speaker 1: on the special teams, and now he's hurt. Do you
- 46:25Speaker 1: have any other special team stats before I start spewing some?
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yes, and I think this is a good time to
- 46:30Speaker 2: kick it to everyone's favorite segment, Things to Watch from
- 46:33Speaker 2: Aircraft's Eye in the Sky.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Flight attendants, prepare for takeoff, please.
- 46:55Speaker 2: He kept it short and sweet this week. Just sent
- 46:58Speaker 2: a tweet from Alex Kizora. Pittsburgh, by the way, officially
- 47:03Speaker 2: fell to 32nd in the NFL in kick return average
- 47:06Speaker 2: after last night, 22.7 yards on the season.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a fourth round pick and I'm not blaming
- 47:14Speaker 1: it all on him and his season. Listen, you and
- 47:17Speaker 1: I both know he could return one kick in the
- 47:20Speaker 1: next two games and it could be a completely different story, right?
- 47:24Speaker 1: I mean, that's, He is a home run hitter.
- 47:26Speaker 2: So why don't we have some faith, Pat? So why
- 47:29Speaker 2: don't we have some faith?
- 47:31Speaker 1: I'm talking about the special teams as a whole. We
- 47:33Speaker 1: got a penalty on how we lined up on a punt, McChinchy.
- 47:39Speaker 1: We're not getting blocks. Legion's not seeing the holes. This
- 47:42Speaker 1: is the worst special teams unit in the entire NFL
- 47:46Speaker 1: right now, outside of actually our punter, Bill Burr, who's
- 47:49Speaker 1: having a great season. You know, even Boswell has been
- 47:53Speaker 1: sketchy this year.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and I listened to Danny Crossman on Mike McCarthy Monday.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Fuck, he sucks.
- 47:59Speaker 2: He's a little goofy.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he is. He's a fucking weirdo. He's a little goofy.
- 48:01Speaker 5: He's a freak.
- 48:02Speaker 1: I wouldn't say he sucks. Like, that's a little harsh.
- 48:03Speaker 6: He sucks.
- 48:03Speaker 2: He's just a little goofy, Pat. Oh, we get to
- 48:04Speaker 2: watch Danny Smith. What don't you like about him? We
- 48:05Speaker 2: get to watch Danny Smith on the sideline in Tampa.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Yep.
- 48:07Speaker 2: A couple familiar faces. A couple familiar faces.
- 48:08Speaker 1: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:09Speaker 2: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:09Speaker 1: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:10Speaker 2: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:10Speaker 5: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:12Speaker 1: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:12Speaker 5: A couple familiar faces. A couple familiar faces.
- 48:13Speaker 2: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:14Speaker 1: A couple familiar faces. A couple familiar faces. A couple
- 48:16Speaker 1: familiar faces. A couple familiar faces.
- 48:17Speaker 2: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:18Speaker 1: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:19Speaker 2: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:20Speaker 1: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:20Speaker 2: A couple familiar faces.
- 48:21Speaker 1: A couple familiar faces. A couple familiar faces. A couple
- 48:22Speaker 1: familiar faces.
- 48:23Speaker 2: A couple Yeah, a couple of familiar faces out there.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Why don't you give us the next diff?
- 48:29Speaker 1: Brock Hoffman. Brock Hoffman, he did not have a good game.
- 48:33Speaker 1: I thought the offensive line as a whole played very well.
- 48:37Speaker 1: There were some communication issues. You saw that play with Brock.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Was it Brock Hoffman? Yes, Brock Hoffman and Zach Frazier.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Just lack of communication. I don't know who it was on.
- 48:48Speaker 1: It seemed like it was probably on the guard, but
- 48:50Speaker 1: that was that play, that touchdown actually. where Aaron Rodgers
- 48:55Speaker 1: got blown up, defender ran in completely untouched, ended up
- 48:59Speaker 1: working out. But you can't have the most sacked quarterback
- 49:03Speaker 1: in NFL history take hits like that. He's also on
- 49:05Speaker 1: pace to be the most hit quarterback in the entire
- 49:09Speaker 1: NFL this year right now. Just another kind of side
- 49:12Speaker 1: pat stat. And I thought a lot of that was
- 49:15Speaker 1: on Brock Hoffman this week.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and Brock did have a big holding call.
- 49:19Speaker 5: Yes.
- 49:20Speaker 2: For the game yeah jaylen warren uh 11 yard run
- 49:23Speaker 2: that that killed that drive forced a three and out
- 49:26Speaker 2: so yeah not a great game i do like him
- 49:28Speaker 2: in that position though yeah for sure and the offensive
- 49:31Speaker 2: line has it's night and day they had a good
- 49:35Speaker 2: week good good good week that defense that colts defense
- 49:38Speaker 2: is pretty pitiful So I think like, like, like what
- 49:41Speaker 2: did this game mean for you, Pat?
- 49:44Speaker 1: The offense for me, it was.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Like, let me just give you an example of what
- 49:49Speaker 2: I mean. Like for me, it didn't really change my
- 49:53Speaker 2: opinions on this team. It was kind of a step
- 49:55Speaker 2: in the right direction and we did what we needed
- 49:58Speaker 2: to do.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, if, if we could bring this on
- 50:03Speaker 1: the road to the box, cause at home we've been phenomenal.
- 50:08Speaker 1: We've had, one of the best offenses in the league
- 50:10Speaker 1: while at home. And it's been quite the opposite on
- 50:14Speaker 1: the road. We've looked horrible on the road. Despite what
- 50:17Speaker 1: some of the stats may be, we kind of had–
- 50:19Speaker 1: Steelers had a pretty redeeming fourth quarter against the Browns,
- 50:22Speaker 1: I'd say, but just looked horrible on the road. So
- 50:26Speaker 1: they found their identity. They've done what we've been begging
- 50:30Speaker 1: them to do for the past two, three years now, McChinchy.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Put the ball in your playmaker's hands. Jalen Warren, Darnell.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Unlock Pat Friermuth, right? I mean, that's put the ball
- 50:41Speaker 1: in your playmaker's hands. They've been running to set up
- 50:43Speaker 1: or passing to set up the run. So if they
- 50:46Speaker 1: can bring this into Tampa Bay, which, I mean, their
- 50:50Speaker 1: defense is all right, right? They've got a few good players.
- 50:54Speaker 1: They got Vito Vea. They got a few solid players there.
- 50:58Speaker 1: I'd feel really good.
- 50:59Speaker 2: I don't agree more. And the last stiff, this guy,
- 51:03Speaker 2: you know, Not really putting him as a stiff here
- 51:06Speaker 2: for his performance as a stealer because he got hurt.
- 51:09Speaker 2: But more as a performance on my fantasy team. I
- 51:12Speaker 2: picked this guy up. I starred him against the Cumbuckets,
- 51:16Speaker 2: against Jim Broney and Pat this week, their co-team. And
- 51:19Speaker 2: he lays a big old goose egg. So in order
- 51:23Speaker 2: for that, I got to do a smearing off ice.
- 51:26Speaker 1: You got video? Put your video up.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I got video up. I got video up.
- 51:30Speaker 1: For those of you who don't know how the sausage
- 51:32Speaker 1: is made, we record– And we just usually do audio.
- 51:36Speaker 1: We don't put the video on for network purposes. Cheers.
- 51:42Speaker 2: This one's going down the gut.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Oh, you're recording a video. I hear it. You guys
- 51:52Speaker 1: hear that?
- 52:00Speaker 2: Gross. This one's the orange cream pop.
- 52:05Speaker 1: I thought you liked those.
- 52:08Speaker 2: I did the other day. I didn't really like it today.
- 52:09Speaker 1: That was not a hit.
- 52:15Speaker 2: That was not a hit. Yeah, I don't know. I
- 52:17Speaker 2: might be cutting Roman Wilson. I'd give him a chance.
- 52:22Speaker 2: I'd give him a chance, Pat. All you can do
- 52:24Speaker 2: is just give people chances.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Well, he's going to be out for a little bit.
- 52:29Speaker 1: What did they say?
- 52:31Speaker 2: It was his finger?
- 52:32Speaker 1: Dislocated finger. She'll be out a couple weeks.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Okay. You know, I also have another ice here, Pat.
- 52:40Speaker 2: And this one is a new type of ice. I'm
- 52:45Speaker 2: going to officially, for the first time in league history,
- 52:48Speaker 2: declare a rival instead of my league-appointed one. And I
- 52:54Speaker 2: am going to have a rivalry, if not two-way, at
- 52:58Speaker 2: least one way from my side. With the cum buckets.
- 53:02Speaker 1: No way.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I have taken the cum buckets head on. And this
- 53:07Speaker 2: Smirnoff Ice goes to my loss to the cum buckets
- 53:10Speaker 2: this week. And to atone for the loss.
- 53:13Speaker 1: The Squirt Herd versus the cum buckets. Newest rivalry has
- 53:17Speaker 1: formed in the ACFL. Oh, yeah. I hear him slurping
- 53:27Speaker 1: that down. How's it taste, huh? Does it taste like
- 53:32Speaker 1: drinking gum from a bucket?
- 53:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost too gummy.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Oh, fuck.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Almost too gummy, Pat. Almost too gummy. Ready?
- 53:48Speaker 1: Wow, that sounded like my... Sounded like Pat's effects for the...
- 53:53Speaker 1: That was a perfect soundbite.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Someone said that to me this week at the tailgate.
- 53:58Speaker 1: What's that?
- 53:59Speaker 2: I cracked a beer and someone said, That sounded just
- 54:02Speaker 2: like Pat's pump up.
- 54:05Speaker 1: You're getting people excited a little early here. Why don't
- 54:08Speaker 1: you talk about your Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragons performance?
- 54:13Speaker 2: Crouching Tiger. Jonathan Taylor stifled him. 14 carries, 45 yards,
- 54:20Speaker 2: zero touchdowns.
- 54:23Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 54:24Speaker 2: That's the orange cream soda fighting back. Hidden Dragon, Tyler Warren.
- 54:30Speaker 2: He had quite a game. That rushing touchdown from one
- 54:33Speaker 2: yard out and seven catches, 83 yards. He was their
- 54:37Speaker 2: leading receiver. I'd say both had good games. Tyler Warren
- 54:42Speaker 2: had a good game.
- 54:43Speaker 5: Jalen Warren.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Oh, my God. These ices are fighting me already, Pat.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor, not a great game. Tyler Warren, a good game.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I was impressed, too. We didn't mention this, but the
- 54:56Speaker 1: red zone defense and the goal line defense for the
- 54:59Speaker 1: Pittsburgh Steelers really stout in this one.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Incredible. I placed a, we were there with our cousin.
- 55:06Speaker 2: I placed a parlay for him for his birthday and
- 55:09Speaker 2: we split it. And it had Jonathan Taylor touchdown in it.
- 55:14Speaker 2: And that goal line, he just turned 21. That goal
- 55:17Speaker 2: line stop, you know, they stopped Taylor like three times
- 55:20Speaker 2: in a row and he's sitting next to me, like
- 55:22Speaker 2: kind of rooting for Taylor to score. And I had to,
- 55:25Speaker 2: veteran move, wise them up a little bit. I said, Hey,
- 55:27Speaker 2: like we do not root for our bets over the
- 55:29Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers. If it happens, it happens, but we, we
- 55:32Speaker 2: are not rooting for the Colts to score right now.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I had to teach the young in a little bit.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Absolutely. Yeah.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Well, anything else in this game, Pat?
- 55:45Speaker 1: That's all I had to say. I think we covered it.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Well, let's kick it to commercial. When we come back
- 55:51Speaker 2: after the station identification, we'll have the Buccaneers preview for you.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Stay tuned.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Beer. Cigarettes. Football.
- 56:02Speaker 3: High fructose corn syrup.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Big trucks.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Firework shows.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Heavy machinery. Big game hunting. Farmer's tans.
- 56:11Speaker 12: First responders.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Cuban cigars.
- 56:13Speaker 1: High cholesterol.
- 56:14Speaker 2: More beer.
- 56:16Speaker 1: $ 10 blackjack hands.
- 56:18Speaker 2: 50 cent wings.
- 56:19Speaker 5: Truck nuts.
- 56:20Speaker 2: And tarps off radio.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Here we go. You sexy, sexy fucks. Thank you for listening.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Thanks for sticking through that commercial. Why don't we get
- 56:34Speaker 1: into the Bucs preview? Steelers, three-point favorites on the road,
- 56:38Speaker 1: 1 p.m. Sunday, Raymond James Stadium, over-under, set at 40.5.
- 56:43Speaker 1: It's going to be some cool Florida fall weather, a
- 56:47Speaker 1: little chance of rain here. McGingy, interested to hear, why
- 56:52Speaker 1: do we hate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
- 56:55Speaker 2: Well, Pat, in my hate breakings, Of the five tiers,
- 56:59Speaker 2: I have the Buccaneers in tier four. And they're actually
- 57:02Speaker 2: listed on there twice. They got one listing for Brady
- 57:06Speaker 2: and one for Baker. And I shouldn't really have to
- 57:08Speaker 2: explain more for that. I mean, if a team hires
- 57:12Speaker 2: Tom Brady or if a team hires Baker Mayfield, that's it.
- 57:16Speaker 2: And if you hate Baker and Brady as much as
- 57:19Speaker 2: I do, this team's forever unclean. And another thing, all
- 57:23Speaker 2: you Steeler fans that have somehow come to Enjoy Baker
- 57:27Speaker 2: Mayfield and love Baker Mayfield over the years. Make me sick.
- 57:30Speaker 12: This guy's a loser, dude. This guy was cheating on
- 57:35Speaker 12: his wife in parking lots. Getting car fellatio. Hell yeah, dude.
- 57:43Speaker 1: No, no, Pat.
- 57:44Speaker 2: Not hell yeah.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Disgusting.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Our quarterback was a man of faith.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Family man.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Number seven. I miss you, Ben. On to the scouting report.
- 57:59Speaker 2: The Steelers walk into Tampa Bay against the 1-4 Tampa
- 58:02Speaker 2: Bay Buccaneers without their recently paid quarterback, Baker Mayfield. Undrafted
- 58:08Speaker 2: rookie quarterback Jalen Daniels out of Kansas will be making
- 58:11Speaker 2: his third career and consecutive start coming off a game
- 58:15Speaker 2: versus the Cowboys where he was 19-25 for 189 yards
- 58:17Speaker 2: and one touchdown. Zero picks, 23 rushing yards, seven attempts.
- 58:25Speaker 2: That was a quick stat line there, Pat. Their offense
- 58:28Speaker 2: has struggled all season, though, ranking 28th in total offense,
- 58:32Speaker 2: 24th in scoring, averaging 19 points per game. Former Steeler
- 58:36Speaker 2: Kenny Gainwell noticeably sidelined by this staff as they have
- 58:40Speaker 2: let Bucky Irvin be the workhorse in the backfield. Despite
- 58:43Speaker 2: being 28th in passing, they are 17th on the ground,
- 58:47Speaker 2: averaging just over 100 yards per game. This offense is
- 58:51Speaker 2: similar to the Colts from last week, minus the superstar
- 58:55Speaker 2: capabilities of Jonathan Taylor. Defensively, they are pretty stout, unlike Indianapolis.
- 59:01Speaker 2: Seventh in total defense, including third in rushing yards allowed
- 59:04Speaker 2: per game. They have a couple of former Pittsburgh Panthers
- 59:08Speaker 2: on this team, Pat. Kalijah Cansey and Savasier Dennis play
- 59:12Speaker 2: important roles on this team.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Serviche.
- 59:15Speaker 5: Yep.
- 59:16Speaker 2: Obviously still led up front by veteran Vita Vea. Veteran
- 59:20Speaker 2: Vita Vea as well. A lot of tongue twisters today.
- 59:23Speaker 2: And let's not forget why the Buccaneers let go of
- 59:26Speaker 2: Jamel Dean. Their secondary was strong. They felt confident without him.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Antoine Winfield, although according to Doobie's injury report, might be out,
- 59:35Speaker 2: the veteran at safety. Corners, Benjamin Morrison out of Notre Dame,
- 59:39Speaker 2: second-year guy. Zion McCollum, veteran on the other side. And
- 59:42Speaker 2: let's not forget that they stole our elite special teams
- 59:45Speaker 2: coverage tandem in Danny Smith and Miles Killebrew. Fuck! All
- 59:50Speaker 2: in all, Pat, a tougher challenge in my eyes than
- 59:52Speaker 2: last week, even with the worst record and a bad quarterback.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Buccaneers defense is strong, defense to run well, but luckily
- 59:59Speaker 2: this is a Sunday 1 p.m. game in good weather,
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: so Rodgers should be ready.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you made me a little nervous and a little
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: skeptical opening up the episode talking about potential easy win.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I think this team is Kind of more dangerous than
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a 1-4 team, and it shouldn't be looked at that way.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Big Gingy, and I'll get into why in a minute here,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: but before I do, Intern Doob, why don't you walk
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: us through the injury reports for both these teams?
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: Yeah, both teams got a pretty long injury list. We
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: got Derek Harmon and Michael Pittman both on IR, can
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: return week 10.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: What?
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Yep. Week 10?
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Yep. I think there's a week nine bye.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: Correct. We have a bye week.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: So four weeks and then a bye.
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: Because of the bye, yeah. If we played week nine,
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: they could come back week nine, but we have a
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: bye week, which could help. Ben Skronick, he's already been
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: ruled out. That calf injury suffered on Sunday against the Colts.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: A what injury? Calf.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Cough. Damn.
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: Yep, yep. Big Mike already ruled him out. Big Mike
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: also ruled out Roman Wilson with that dislocated finger.
- 1:01:28Speaker 11: Who?
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: Roman Wilson.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Keep going.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: What?
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: He'll probably miss a couple weeks with that injured finger. Uh,
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: Rico Daddle with the toe. Offensive coordinator, Brian, I'm not
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: even sure.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Angelico? Angelico.
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm like, I don't know how to say that.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Angelico?
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Don't mind if I do.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: Well, he's optimistic that Rico returns this week, so we'll see.
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: Deshaun Elliott has been designated for return. He's been limited
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: in practice the last week, so.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: What was his injury?
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: Oh, fuck. What was it? I forget.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: He had, I believe, a knee injury.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: A knee?
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Well, he had a hamstring injury, but I heard from
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Alan Saunders on Sears Afternoon Drive that apparently it was
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: a hamstring injury, but his knee was actually much worse.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: And when he went to the IR last year, Um,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: it was designated a hamstring, but he ended up getting
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: something done with his knee as well. This off season
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: that's been lingering.
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: The knee is what's keeping him out.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Just looked up.
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: Um, Jamel Dean is questionable still with that ankle, but
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: he did say that he wanted to return back against
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: the boxes, former team. So let's watch, you know, let's
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: watch the practice, uh, participation this week to see how
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: he does. And Ramsey's still on the report. Questionable, that wrist,
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: but I'd say he's likely to play.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Yeah, let's give a shout out to Jalen Ramsey, too.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: He's a stud.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I mean, one of the toughest.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: Pittsburgh's lucky to have him.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: This says a lot coming from the mouth of a
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Pittsburgh Steeler. But one of the toughest fans, Pittsburgh Steelers fans,
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: one of the toughest Steelers players I've seen in my lifetime.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I mean, really, he plays through it all. Broken fucking wrist.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: He's out there hitting motherfuckers just as hard. Just a
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: solid tackler, a hard hitter. Is he worth the money?
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Probably not. But we'll give him his shout when his
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: shout's due.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Dude, he had a nice play on a third down
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: in the red zone. Knocked the ball loose, I believe,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: on Josh Downs. Incredible hit.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: You talking about the Tyler Warren hit?
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Was it Tyler Warren?
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: Yeah, it was Tyler Warren.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Tyler Warren.
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: Josh Downs was Peyton Wilson.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: That's right. That's right. Yeah, the Tyler Warren hit. Yeah,
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Jalen Ramsey's a fucking stud, dude. I would love to
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: have 22 of him.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Let's backtrack for just half a second, maybe spend a
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: minute on this, McG and G. Lost at Soft Brothers.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: What did you think of them out of the Colts?
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: I meant to bring that up.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: Did not change my opinion on them one way or
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: the other.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: I thought they had a good game, though. They played well.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: They were solid.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Not enough to creep their way on the stud list,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: in my opinion.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: Although it was done up front.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: I wouldn't go that far and say all the work
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: was done up front. A lot of it was. But
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Peyton Wilson also had double-digit tackles. I felt like there
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: were a couple plays. I don't remember specifics, but there
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: were a couple plays. I was like, what the fuck, Peyton?
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: But overall, I mean, just consistent game. This is the
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: problem with them, dude, is they'll play like one of
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: the worst games you've ever seen, a game that looks
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: like they just joined the fucking team last week, and
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: then they'll go out the very next week and look
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: pretty solid. This upcoming week, they'll probably look pretty solid,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: you know, yada, yada. But I'm never putting it out
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: of my mind that they could have an absolute fucking
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: stinker of the game at any point this year.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: Agreed.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Anyways, sorry. Why don't we get into the Bucs injuries?
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: Yeah, I was going to say, let's move on. Austin's
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: favorite guy, Baker, will not be on the field with
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: that thumb injury. He will be out with that thumb injury.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Sitting on it, huh?
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Do you guys remember that injury when Todd Bowles was
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: laughing at Baker's high-pitched scream? Do you remember that?
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: No.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Baker got hurt, and they cut to Todd Bowles, and
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: he has a half smile. And they asked him after
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: the game, like, why are you laughing? And he's like,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I heard this really high-pitched scream, and it.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: Made me laugh.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: I think Todd Bowles was on his way out.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: For sure. He looks pretty checked out.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: If we go down to Tampa Bay and we blow
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: their doors off, he might get fired.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I think it's a Steelers can't
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: lose game. Anyways, Dubie, finish your report here.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. Baker out. And Antoine Winfield also going to
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: be out. He has a couple broken ribs. He's going
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: to be out a couple weeks, probably up to four weeks.
- 1:06:25Speaker 13: Damn.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: Good for us, though. Broken ribs.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: What a softie, dude. You ever broken ribs, dude?
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: Yeah, it was.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: You ever broken ribs, Pat?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I actually had two of my ribs removed, but I
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: was under anesthesia, so I didn't feel anything.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: What a softie, dude. Broken ribs. You should be able
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: to play.
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know how many are broken. It
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: doesn't really say, but who knows how bad it is,
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: but we'll take it.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a pussy. Anyways, who else?
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: Jalen McMillan.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: Bucket.
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: No.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: But you got him.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, he was a bucket, wasn't he?
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you drafted him, didn't you?
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: I thought that was my other league.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: This is the guy I get beat by, dude. The
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: guy who says, oh, that is my other league. This
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: is why you're my rival now, Pat.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Okay. Whatever makes you happy.
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: All right, well, moving on. Benjamin Morris also... is going
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: to be questionable along with our guy from Pitt, Sarah Vossier,
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: Dennis with an ankle injury, neither practice last week, but
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: they did have the short week with the Thursday game.
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: So we'll have to watch their participation this week to
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: see if they are able to go.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: I think this is a can't lose game, Pat. If
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: we need to take this, this team seriously this year,
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: This is a can't-lose game. It's not a must-win, but
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: it's a can't-lose.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I have a– I know it's not time for this yet,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: but my– if I were to make a hidden dragon pick,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: I think Jalen Daniels' legs is a concern of mine.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: And let's get into– I mean, real quick, that's one
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: of my keys to victory while we're already talking about
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: it here. You got to limit Jalen Daniels' legs. Not
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: the best throw of the football, turnover prone. Did you
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: watch– We played with football on Thursday, right? So the
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: three of us missed Thursday night football, Buccaneers, Cowboys. I
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: went back and watched the game yesterday, just the expedited
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: 40-minute game on NFL Network. Did you get a chance
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: to look at that game at all?
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: No, I didn't.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Not the best stat line on paper from Jalen Daniels,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: but he picked up. Two first downs specifically on the
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: ground on plays that should have been, you know... easy
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: uh easy punts on fourth down uh 13 rushes in
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: his two starts on the Buccaneers McGingy so he's someone
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: that if it's third and four third and five and
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: you've got everybody locked up he can break it pick
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: up six seven eight yards McGingy so that's a concern
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: of mine I don't know. Do you, do you mess around,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: put a spy on them or, or rush forward?
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Do you blitz?
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: What would you do if you were at Graham?
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: I am not concerned about him really at all. I
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: think just do the same thing you've been doing, play
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: the soft coverage, you know, then don't break and then
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: score against their defense. Keep it simple.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Go with the kiss method.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Keep it simple. Stupid. I think that this game
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: is a lot like, You know, Jalen Daniels, like you said,
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: not an elite running attack, but he's going to run.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: He had seven carries last week, eight carries the week
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: before in his first two career starts. So he's going
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: to get out and move. Pat, I think the real
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: concern here, and I'll get into Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: a little bit later, but they can't let up the
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: explosive play. That's pretty much it. Whether that comes from
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: the ground, whether it comes through the air, just keep
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: everything in front of you. And I think we're going
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: to see that type of defense again this week.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: Well, let's say like this big Gigi, Ben don't break, right?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: I mean, if you let up the explosive play, they've
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: got receivers all across the board that are explosive play capable.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Godwin's getting a little older, but he's still a solid receiver.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Obviously they have at Buka, even Tez, what Tez Johnson
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: is capable of some explosive plays there. So, if they
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: do give up the 40, 50 yard bomb, get down
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: in the red zone on defense, you know, three points,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: zero points, not seven points.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, Pat, what does a loss
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: this week mean to you?
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: What do you mean by that?
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: Like I just asked you a little bit earlier, what
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: did that Colts win mean to you?
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: You mean for the whole team and the season perspective? Well,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: it depends how they lose, right? I mean, if they get,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: If they get absolutely picked apart on defense.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: Does it depend how they lose?
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: If they lose 42-40 and the offense looks great and
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: the defense gets torched, that's a lot different than, you know,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: if they lose 17-3 and the offense can't move the
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: ball down the field.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Is it really different though?
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: No, it is.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Okay. What does that mean to you?
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: I don't know how else to answer that question. If
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: we were going to get beat, It would be from
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: getting torched in the run game, both from the quarterback
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: and the running back position.
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Giving up a lot of third downs. And I'd say
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: on offense, not converting on our third downs and not
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: playing good ball in the red zone.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Bingo.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: Bingo.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: That's exactly where I was going with that, Pat.
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: And now let me ask you this on the flip side.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: Does a monster, does a monster win? Let's say we
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: win 42 to seven. does a monster win move the
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: needle for you against a team like this?
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. Cause I assume that would mean we'd be
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: getting a lot of turnovers, which is something we haven't
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: seen probably pressuring the quarterback. So that would mean that
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: my defensive concerns would be answered. And obviously if we
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: put up over 40 points, that would make me feel
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: so much better about the offense moving forward, especially on
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: the road where they've struggled.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: I don't know. I think this is the same thing
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: as last week where it's a, we need to take
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: care of business. You know, to me, we just need
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: to win. We need to go one or no and
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: move on. I don't think I'm really looking for anything
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: in particular. Their defense is good, but as long as
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: we're not giving up, you know, 20 plus points to
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: this offense, I'm going to have the same opinion that
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: I do this week as I probably will the next week.
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: Sure.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: Sure. And feed off of that.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Don't really. Don't really respect this other team's offense.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: The Cowboys don't have a good defense, right? They haven't
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: in quite some time. But they didn't play the Cowboys
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: like a 1-14 is all I'll say.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: No, they didn't. That's a good point.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Anyway, on top of that, don't get down early, McG.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: Don't let this team just run the ball down your throats.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: up two scores in the second or third quarter. You
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: got to avoid that. So offense has to come out firing.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Of the first three drives, you're probably going to want
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: 10 points on the board at least, right? And don't
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: get down early because they can end the game with Bucky.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Is that a key to victory, Pat?
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: That's a key to victory.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Okay, that's one key. I didn't know we were starting.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Oh, I mixed one in there too. Keep an eye
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: on Jalen Daniels' legs.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Okay. Okay, gotcha, gotcha. Sorry, man, I'm underwater.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: That's okay. Yep, and my last key, it might as
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: well be a key every single fucking week, like it
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: has been ever since we started this podcast, but feed
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: your playmakers. Go out of your way to scheme some
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: fucking snacks and let your playmakers eat McGingy. I'm talking
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: roast beef and gravy, side of potatoes, even those little
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: frozen peas that you microwave.
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: So Warren, Muth, Darnell, DK, move the ball around outside
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: of that. But I want to see Jalen Warren have
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: at least 70% of the snaps.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: He's got to have 20 touches. Yeah. 20 touches each
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: of the last three weeks. He's got to have 20 touches, Pat.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: I don't think anything should change about this offense. I
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: think you work in Dowdle a little bit. when Jalen
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: Warren gets a little gassed, you know, maybe after a
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: big play here or there, but Jalen's got to be
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: the future back. You're right. That's a great, that's a
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: great key.
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: And Muth and Darnell as well, which they have been.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: I mean, these past couple of games, both, both tight
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: ends have been playing very well.
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Onto my crouching tiger, hidden dragon, crouching tiger. I'm going
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: bucks defense. This bucks defense is solid. I could see
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: them giving Steelers, you know, fits. And then I kind
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: of have a tandem here, Pat. Hidden Dragon, Steelers on
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: third downs. I know I'm going a little funky here.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: I didn't really see player-wise, you know, who could affect it.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: But the Buccaneers on third down defensively, Pat, there's six
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: in the NFL, 32% allowed. They're not going to pressure you, though,
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: which is a good thing for the Steelers. They're like 25th, 26th.
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: I don't have this stat in front of me in sacks.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: So they're not going to pressure us, but their defense
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: is stout. They're a good tackling team. I really think
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: that this defense could cause some frustration for us. That's
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: the only way that the Bucs are going to win,
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: is if their defense absolutely disrupts what we have going on.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: cause a few turnovers, play feisty, things like that.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Yeah. Good call.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: You got a prediction? Yeah, I do.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I predicted, where's it at? 32 to 27 Steelers. Wow.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: I got 27, 10. I think it's a route.
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: So you're more bullish on our defense in their shitty
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: offense than Yes. And our offensive outlook is pretty similar.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: One thing I didn't bring up about the Colts game, Pat,
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: that I think we probably should have stressed was that
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: that was a game of field position, and we were
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: terrible in that category. We need to control field position
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: this game. And if we control field position, they won't
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: score more than 10 points.
- 1:17:19Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: And going further, we have a solid punter. It's just
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: about not taking stupid penalties and tackling on kickoffs.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Yeah, better coverage. And also that, you know, we need
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: to pick up a first down or two on offense.
- 1:17:34Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: Yeah. McGingey's hot lead. We had a win last week.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: You know, I couldn't decide on a lock that I
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: said I was going to give you guys one on
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: Friday on Twitter. I couldn't decide. I just didn't want
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: to give you a loser that I wasn't absolutely confident in.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: Did you forget?
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: No. No.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: I didn't have anything that I loved that I wanted
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: to tweet out. It was just, what am I going
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: to do? Just, just sell, be false advertising.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: That is soft.
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: Go ahead. Sorry.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: Stewards.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: But it's two and a half. We should have put
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: more on it last week. We should have just emptied
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: the house on stewards minus two and a half last week.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: We're now seven and five up two units. I was
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: going to do a season long check-in. I think we'll
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: save that to next week, Pat, mainly because I don't
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: have those stats in front of me this week. We're
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: going over to London town. And this might be my
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: game of the year, Pat. Jags minus two and a
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: half versus the Texans in London town. We're putting two
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: units on it. I might have more, but the officially
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: we're going to do two Jags minus two and a
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: half versus Texans. The Jags played in London last week.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: They're so insane.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: How often every year the Jags play overseas.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: They talk about moving them over there. They should for
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: 20 years. They've talked about it now, but they've been
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: there for a week. And Pat, we know how hard
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: it is to get acclimated. I think the Texans fly
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: in on Thursday and, I'm taking Jags minus two and
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: a half versus the Texans. This is similar to the
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: San Francisco bet earlier in the year against the Rams
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: where they were in Australia for a week before LA was.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: Go with the Jags here, two and a half all day.
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: I like it.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: Thanks, Pat. Very kind to you. You want to send
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: us your commercial?
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: Sure. Yeah, we're going to kick it to commercial here
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: and we get packed. Bring in a voice for us
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: here until the week gets some trivia for you guys.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: Stay tuned. Well, hi there.
- 1:19:46Speaker 11: My name's Dick, and I'm the owner and proprietor.
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: Of Fremonta Family Farms.
- 1:19:52Speaker 11: At Fremonta Family Farms, we put family first. That's why
- 1:19:56Speaker 11: all our animals are bred locally, in-house, exclusively with members
- 1:20:00Speaker 11: of their own kin. We don't use any of them
- 1:20:03Speaker 11: liberal city boy GMO hormonal cows.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: We breed the old-fashioned way.
- 1:20:09Speaker 11: A couple candles in the barn, cow jams, volumes one
- 1:20:12Speaker 11: through four, and some gentle coercion. We've worked hard this
- 1:20:17Speaker 11: summer to ensure our cows have 30% less hepatitis. Not
- 1:20:22Speaker 11: only do we milk our cows by hand, but we
- 1:20:26Speaker 11: slaughter using our bare hands as well. None of them fancy, high-powered,
- 1:20:30Speaker 11: unethical killing machines. Just my cousin Tucker and a few
- 1:20:35Speaker 11: left hooks. We also don't just milk cows. We'll provide
- 1:20:39Speaker 11: you with whatever milk you please. Hell, I'll milk a
- 1:20:42Speaker 11: pig for you. We can milk a horse.
- 1:20:45Speaker 13: I'll even milk my old blue-tig, Betsy.
- 1:20:48Speaker 11: Visit any of our 12 locations with the finest quality
- 1:20:51Speaker 11: from under cheese, dairy, and meat around. You can find
- 1:20:55Speaker 11: our vans parked in the handicapped space at your local
- 1:20:58Speaker 11: gas station, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: 1 to 4 a.m. And please, tell them Dick sent you.
- 1:21:16Speaker 11: Ring, ring.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: Hello?
- 1:21:19Speaker 13: Ring, ring.
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: Hello?
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: Ring, ring.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: Hello?
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: Ring, ring.
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: Hello?
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Ring, ring.
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: You have a bad connection. Thanks for sticking with us
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: to the sexiest, as Pat says, the sexiest, sexiest listeners.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: We got a couple of calls from you guys this week. First,
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: this guy doesn't introduce himself. I haven't listened to the
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: message so far, so let's see who it is. That's it.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: Hell yeah.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: I think that was Jim Browning.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we all know who that is.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: That was Jim Browning. I don't know if that was
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: from 1059.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: He looked at Pat during the tailgate and said, just
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: love the voicemail. It's a short one.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: He's left a couple updates from the tailgate. Maybe we
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: do a little, you know, Jim Brody from the tailgate spot.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, though, man. Walking Taco is so underrated.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: They're the fucking best. amber wants to do walking tacos
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: at her wedding like she she.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: Has asked me a few times yeah dude she is
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: you should get someone to dress up as the lunch
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: lady from billy madison and just slop that meat in
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: the bag extra sloppy.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: She has like jokingly asked me like can we not
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: do like dinner and just give everyone walking.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Tacos what are you talking about you should do dude
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: you should have like the last 30 minutes, like serve
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: like munchies. Like if it shuts down at 11, like 1030,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: get a little station going and get like McDonald's or
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: walking tacos or chicken tenders or something.
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: A munchie station. Yeah. It's not a bad idea.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Or like a little, you know, to take, you get
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: a little to go boxes. You can take it home.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Cause everyone gets drunk after a wedding. They want to
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: eat some fucking garbage.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Maybe it's the food that we have. maybe the catering
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: staff will box it up and people can take that home.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: And then you also get McDonald's as well.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: You also get McDonald's.
- 1:23:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: That's not a bad idea, Pat. I'm going to push
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: that up the totem pole.
- 1:23:39Speaker 8: Oh yeah.
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: Maybe the walking tacos come.
- 1:23:41Speaker 8: Out at 11 PM.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: On your way out, the walkout talk.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: The walkout talk.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: Wow, Pat.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: Pat, you might have struck gold here. I think I
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: can get that one approved. I think I can push
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: that one up the corporate ladder and get that one approved.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: Hell yeah. Hell yeah. You just got to make sure
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: it's late enough that people aren't going to leave the
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: dance floor prematurely. You know, that's a big thing at weddings.
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Everyone's always got to be on the dance floor.
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we'll see. We'll see about that. Anyways, thanks,
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: Jim Browning, for the tailgate update. Let's kick it to
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: Ryan Don Cheswick.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Ryan, right?
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Ryan.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: He's back. Carp Top Radio. It's Ryan Don Cheswick.
- 1:24:24Speaker 8: First time calling in this year.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Great fucking game yesterday, man.
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: Took care of business.
- 1:24:29Speaker 8: It's fun watching a good offense again.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: And, you know, seeing Jay Lamorne do.
- 1:24:35Speaker 8: His thing, man, looks like a top five running back
- 1:24:38Speaker 8: in the league right now. But, Yeah, mostly just wanted
- 1:24:41Speaker 8: to call in and give you guys a special shout-out.
- 1:24:44Speaker 8: Tarp Soft, Pat McGingy, Intern Doom, guys are just killing
- 1:24:48Speaker 8: it this year, man.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: I truly look forward every.
- 1:24:51Speaker 8: Wednesday morning to hearing what you guys got to say.
- 1:24:53Speaker 8: So just wanted to shout you guys out and, yeah,
- 1:24:57Speaker 8: hopefully pop over for a tailgate here soon and get
- 1:25:00Speaker 8: my Tarp Soft koozie.
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: See you guys soon. Hell yeah.
- 1:25:05Speaker 6: Go Steelers.
- 1:25:05Speaker 13: Hell yeah.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: Go Steelers, baby.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: What a call.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: What a call.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Speaking of top five running back, Jalen Warren is sixth
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: in rushing yards. Kind of low on touchdowns. But among,
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: let's see, I'm putting him second in yards per carry
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: because it's Jalen McLaughlin, Bam Knight, Justice Hill, Kamini Vidal.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: and then Kenneth Walker, and then Jalen Warren. So, yeah,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: I'm putting him at, amongst qualified running backs, I'll put
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Jalen Warren number two in yards per carry. Let's see
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: yards after contact. Number five in the National Football League
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: in yards after contact. I mean, McGee, that is all
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: the makings of a top five running back.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Not only that, Pat, but as Ryan said, it is
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: nice to watch a good offense again. I think we're
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: finally there. And we struggled for two weeks, you know,
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: coming out the gate, gelling. I think this is a
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: good offense now, Pat.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm loving this dude. I'm looking at this great, great.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: It's a summer sports, S U M E R sports.com.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: They got this great stat breakdown here for all the
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: running backs. He's also seconds in the, in amongst running
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: backs and receiving yards, McGingey and his target share is,
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: of the, of the offense is one of the lowest
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: in the top 10 in that category too. Pat Statenhoff,
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: close the door.
- 1:26:34Speaker 14: Pat's putting a fucking cowboy hat on his fucking bedroom
- 1:26:42Speaker 14: door right now.
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: Oh man.
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: And appreciate all the love from all of our listeners.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: I mean, Ryan said it best, you know, we do
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: this cause you guys enjoy it. And I will say,
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: we get some emails every week. Pat, have you listened
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: to any of those? Have you seen any of those
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: rankings from the emails we get?
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't know the password anymore. The password
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: must have changed.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: To the email?
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: To the statistics. Oh, yeah.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: It definitely changed. I change it almost every week because
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: I forget it. Anyways, we are now the 40th Steelers
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: podcast in the history of Steelers podcasts. Right ahead of
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: the Still Curtain podcast with Josh Urich, Mark Powell, Tommy Jaggi,
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: Shane Kubas. I don't know those people. Heard of it.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: And right behind the Steelers Audio Network postgame show with
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Charlie Batchelor and Mike Prezant.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: Hell yeah. The podcast for it. This is the history.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: There's maybe 30 podcasts on here that are not doing
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: podcasts anymore.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: Yeah. I see we're popular in Singapore.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: Very popular in Singapore.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: Yeah, we love our Singaporean visitors.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: In Thailand.
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: Well.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: That's why they call Bangkok, sweetie. Yeah. Anyways, we love
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: our listeners. Thanks for the call, Ryan. Appreciate you. Let's
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: hear from everyone's favorite Mountain resident, Fabio on the Mount.
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: I wonder if he has anything to say.
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: Oh, his favorite yapper.
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: He turns off podcast.
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: Bobby had him out of here.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: Good dub.
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: Good dub against the Colts last Sunday.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: Not too much to complain about from a fall-down-the-mouse perspective.
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: The one thing I can pinpoint, lack of pass.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: Rush, you know, no game breakers from TJ or Heisman
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: or Herbig.
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: Would have liked to see a little bit more.
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: Of that, but, you know, when's the win?
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: We stop JT, you take it.
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: The other thing I'd like to complain about, tailgate conditions.
- 1:29:00Speaker 4: Ran upside down and sideways.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: Not ideal, but I don't want to.
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: Complain about Jim Broney.
- 1:29:08Speaker 5: Pat, McGingy, holding it down as always. Good time with
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: you boys. Thank you for the mics hard.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: Thank you for the walking tacos and all the other
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: snacks and things.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: Really appreciate it.
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: Good to be there for you boys.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: Looking forward to.
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: Hear what you guys talk about.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: Big fan.
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: Not going no ways.
- 1:29:28Speaker 13: Last but not least.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: Go Steelers.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: Go Steelers, yeah.
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: I think Favre on the– go ahead, Pat.
- 1:29:37Speaker 10: No, I was going to say shout-out to Favre on
- 1:29:38Speaker 10: the Mount for the 20 buckaroos he smacked in my hand,
- 1:29:42Speaker 10: always appreciated. And shout-out to Favre on the Mount for
- 1:29:46Speaker 10: being a good sport when even some of the new
- 1:29:49Speaker 10: guys started giving him some three-man chugs, just picked.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Him out of the lineup and started bullying him a
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: little bit. So shout-out to a good three-man performance in
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: the parking lot for Favre as well.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: It was his best performance this year, and it's really
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: not saying much. He put up two pitiful performances. Everyone
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: had to target him because he doesn't drink his seconds.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: This was a good performance, and it's a step in
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: the right direction.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: He did have a crazy call on me early in
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: the match, in the game, whatever you want to call it,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: where It was like within the first 10 rolls. He
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: had one double or I had one double. I gave
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: it to somebody else. And then he, somebody gives him
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: one and he gives it to me. He rolls a double.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: He gets what he gives it to me. And I'm like,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: what the fuck, dude? He goes, you've been fucking guarding
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: me all day. You've been carrying me. I'm like, dude,
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: I haven't even rolled. I rolled doubles once. I didn't
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: give it to you.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: He's like, whatever, dude. He's a little grumpy. You know,
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: it was 7 a.m. and in the middle of a monsoon.
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: That was the tailgate for the sickos.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: I mean, all the sickos that really care about that
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: shit were down there. Genuinely. That genuinely, that shit ruins
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: their week if the stewards lose. Genuinely.
- 1:31:12Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: Shout out to the boys on the bus, too, for
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: holding it down.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: They're the best, dude. The people on those buses. We
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: got to see what Yubes is up to.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: Oh, Yubes, you listening, buddy?
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: Where you been? Yeah, Yubes, shoot me a text. I
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: know you're listening. Shoot me a text here. We need
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: to see you at a game this year.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: Yeah, come on, Yubes. You're 0-3 so far. We got
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: more people who need to sign that jacket.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: Jacket, jacket. Jacket on, jacket off.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: Thanks for the call, Fabi.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: You got your answer of the week?
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I can only go to one person, McGinji. We
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: haven't brought it up thus far. but a somber weekends
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: in Western PA. One of the, one of the best
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: football guys to have ever graced this earth. Nobody lived
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: and breathed football quite like Mike Ditka. They don't make
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: them like that anymore. I'll equip his very own Mike Ditka,
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: a tight end university of Pittsburgh, just a stud, obviously
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: want a super one. He won what two super bowls
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: as a player, one as a coach, Scott. Yeah, just
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: an absolute stud. Just a badass dude. They don't make
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: them like that anymore.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: That's a stud. There are some good stories. It seems
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: like everyone's got a good Mike Ditka story to share.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he won three Super Bowls, tight end with Dallas,
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: an assistant coach with Dallas, and a head coach, obviously,
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: with Chicago. One of the best defenses outside of Pittsburgh
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: in the history of football, 1985 Bears.
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: I went to watch Kicking and Screaming the day that
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: he passed, and nowhere. It was streaming nowhere. I would
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: have had to rent it, dude. I'm not fucking shelling out,
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: bending over for Amazon and Bezos anymore for a movie
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: that's 20 years old.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: Imagine how, like, as a kid, I didn't really think
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: of this, because he was just this silly goat, kicking
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: and screaming, but just how fucking terrifying being around him
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: must have been. Like, if you would have.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: If you would have met him.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: Just his presence, his confidence, his aura, his intensity, you know,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: for a fact, they were like, we're getting Robert Duvall.
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: He's going to be the son of a bitch competitive
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: father only cares about sports. This, that real bad-ass former
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: bad-ass in a lot of movies, Hollywood bad-ass. And then
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: who can we get as his foil, right? Who can
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: we get opposite of him to just really drive it home?
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: I heard they were looking for Chuck Norris, but Chuck
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: Norris had a, prior arrangements so they went with Mike Ditka.
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: No Mike Ditka just beat up Chuck Norris that's how
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: badass Mike Ditka yeah it was a cage match.
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: That would be like the greatest fight of all time
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: dude Mike Ditka versus Chuck Norris are you kidding me
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: they could both beat the shit out of that pussy
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: Bruce Lee.
- 1:34:12Speaker 7: I was wondering where you were going with.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: That fuck Bruce Lee dude The fake tough guy. Dude,
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: trivia question. Hit us with it.
- 1:34:27Speaker 5: Yeah, quick shout out to Beaver County's own Iron Mac, RIP.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: Some say the second best tight end in Aliquippa history.
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, do you guys know who they say
- 1:34:41Speaker 5: number one is?
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: Probably can't.
- 1:34:46Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:34:47Speaker 5: Yeah, they might have to ask Jim Broney on that.
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: Trivia.
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: Last week, we asked you who picked off Peyton Manning
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: back in 2002 and took it to the house, igniting
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: a blowout. That was Chad Scott. Picked him off, took
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: it home. It was a miserable afternoon for the Colts
- 1:35:10Speaker 5: after that.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: All right, let's get it. I think I know this
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: one this week.
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: All right, all right. So this week, We've got another
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: matchup at Heinz Field question against Tampa Bay. What year?
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: 2002. Come out.
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: So, in the matchup in 2002 at Heinz Field, Tampa
- 1:35:35Speaker 5: Bay came with one of the top defenses. But which
- 1:35:39Speaker 5: Steelers wide receiver torched the Bucs?
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: It's Mike Tomlin.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: What's that?
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: That was Mike Tomlin's defense.
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it was, yeah. I had to show him what's up,
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: but hey, do you know what wide receiver torched the Bucs,
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: taking a short pass for 63 yards to the house,
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: breaking a bunch of tackles and blowing the game open?
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: Pat, do you have any guesses?
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: I think based on context clues, I'd probably know the answer,
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: but I won't spoil it for the listeners.
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: It's not context, please.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: 2002 regular season stud wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's... Maybe. Maybe he's a fullback.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: Derek Watt.
- 1:36:32Speaker 2: Derek Watt. One correct trivia answer.
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: Blah, blah, blah. Pat.
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: Help me out here.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: I don't even think we have any more koozies to
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: give away, right? Are we out of koozies?
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: I might have some up here. Hold on. I got three.
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: I got three more koozies.
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: I got three more koozies.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: Good to know.
- 1:37:00Speaker 13: Yep.
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: So one correct. If you guys shoot us the answer
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: on Twitter, you guys know this one. You'll get a
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: koozie next time I see you.
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: Get some kooz. Who doesn't want some kooz?
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: Kooz, kooz, kooz. Fresh kooz. Don't forget to follow us
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: on Twitter at tarpsoftmcgingy, at tarpsoftpat, at tarpsoftdube, at tarpsoftradio. Pat,
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: you got anything to say before you take it away?
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: Go Steelers.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: See you next week. The horse was no fucking good.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, you did it. You cooked that fucking horse alive.
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: So what? So what? It was a fucking animal. Don't
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: give me that look. It was a fucking horse. What
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: are you, a vegetarian?
- 1:37:51Speaker 9: You eat beef and sausage by the fucking carload.
- 1:37:59Speaker 5: Steelers football.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Week six. This is Warren's land.
- 1:38:06Speaker 13: Thank you, Seth the Flows.
- 1:38:09Speaker 11: Steelers don't win this game without your Jalen Warren shoutout.
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: Indy should change their mascot's.
- 1:38:15Speaker 13: Name from Blue to Glue because we took these colts
- 1:38:19Speaker 13: behind the bar and shot them in the head and
- 1:38:21Speaker 13: sent their limpless corpses to the Elmer's factory.
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Now, we look ahead to the tailgate. Bay Fox.
- 1:38:31Speaker 14: I know, Fox, it's low-hanging fruit, but Florida really is
- 1:38:36Speaker 14: America's venereal disease.
- 1:38:38Speaker 7: Tampa doesn't have enough grit to be a winning football team.
- 1:38:42Speaker 9: They've got warm weather, beautiful beaches, sun-kissed Latino butt cheeks,
- 1:38:47Speaker 9: and plenty of distractions to help them go When.
- 1:38:49Speaker 13: Their team loses, in Pittsburgh, we've got rain.
- 1:38:52Speaker 9: And snow and muddy riverbanks, and our asses see less
- 1:38:56Speaker 9: sunlight than.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: A coal miner's cock.
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: From September to February.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: Football is all we have.
- 1:39:03Speaker 5: It means more.
- 1:39:05Speaker 9: I'm actually kind of disappointed we won't get to see Sad, Baker,
- 1:39:08Speaker 9: Mayfield on the sideline after the game.
- 1:39:10Speaker 7: Instead, we'll make do with Aldi, Jaden, Daniels. TJ1 is
- 1:39:15Speaker 7: going to eat Jalen Daniels' ass like a Cuban sandwich.
- 1:39:21Speaker 7: We're going to make their own line bleed.
- 1:39:23Speaker 9: So much, they're going to rename the city Tampon Bay.
- 1:39:27Speaker 9: Vita Vea, we're like stinky playa. Javante K-Part, more like
- 1:39:33Speaker 9: Javante's Poop Fart.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: Ah!
- 1:39:36Speaker 9: I could do this all day, Tampa. A Mecca and Pooka,
- 1:39:40Speaker 9: more like Smag Mecca, Butt Poopa.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: Ah, fuck you!
- 1:39:45Speaker 5: Because when that.
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: Steam whistle blows, those soft-headed Florida Sissy Boys will be left.
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: Absolutely shell-shocked by some down-and-dirty blue-collar Western PA football!
- 1:39:58Speaker 9: We're going to plunder your booty and raid your captain's quarters.
- 1:40:02Speaker 9: We're going to raise our Charlie Rogers right into your
- 1:40:05Speaker 9: poop decks until your timbers start to shiver.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: I don't even want to.
- 1:40:10Speaker 5: Tell you what we're going to use your peg legs for.
- 1:40:13Speaker 9: We are going to walk into your vessel and take
- 1:40:15Speaker 9: over your vessel.
- 1:40:16Speaker 4: Yarr! Yarr!
- 1:40:19Speaker 9: Yo-ho-ho to Paul Iron City.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: Let's flip some ass on Sunday.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: Pit Park.
- 1:40:26Speaker 11: Ugh.
- 1:40:28Speaker 5: Woo!
- 1:40:29Speaker 4: Here we go.
