“We Hadn’t Eaten in 3 Days”: An Off-Grid Survivalist's Warning for America · Man in America Podcast

Speaker 1: I've got a serious question for you. What do you think the chances are in the next, say, five or ten years that our society, whether here in America or elsewhere, we will experience some sort of catastrophic reset, some sort of crisis that changes the way of life as we know it. And this isn't a doom and gloom question. This is not something where I'm saying, hey, the apocalypse is coming. But when you look around and you see all the things that I'm seeing, you're seeing the corruption, you're seeing the lack of justice, you're seeing the fragile supply chains, the the wars, the rumors of wars, do you feel like that maybe we're in what you could call the days of Noah?
• 0:59
Do you feel like that we're living in an era where some sort of significant change is coming? And maybe you don't, but but I do. There's some part of me inside that just says that Seth, something is coming, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. I think that the world that I've come to understand is a very evil world with very evil structures and systems and infrastructure. And I don't want that stuff to exist, but it's not just gonna go poof and disappear.
• 1:24
I think that it has to be... It has to collapse under the weight of its own evil, and there's a process of getting through that. There's some growing pains. There's a hard time, I think, that is coming. I think that we're in the last cycle of the fourth turning.
• 1:36
And so when you come down this path and you go start thinking down the lines of this, it's easy to get stuck in this place of just fear, right? They say, yeah, there's fight or flight, but actually freeze, I think is the much more common response to this, is that you just kind of lock up in fear. I think that COVID did this for a lot of people. COVID, I think really unsettled a lot of people. And they thought, oh my goodness, the safety and the stability of living in America, the greatest empire ever that's ever existed, it's not as safe and predictable and strong as I thought it was.
• 2:06
And so as you go down that line of thinking, though, your brain can really start playing tricks on you and you can start living in a life of fear and paranoia, and that's not good. But you also don't want to live in a place where you're just burying your head in the sand and just getting distracted watching Netflix, when you could be doing things that are very practical to help protect the future of your family, of your own self, of your community. And that's what this conversation is about. So my guest today is a man named Robert Toombs. And he's someone I met through a friend about a month or so ago, and we've become really good friends.
• 2:40
And he's someone that spent, as you'll hear him tell, the first big chunk of his life living truly off grid, not just in some fancy cabin with solar panels. I'm talking about living in a tent in the woods for a year at a time, living with no electricity, no plumbing. And so he's lived that kind of a life, and now he's focused on a lot of things, but he's homesteading, but he's also putting on these big, you know, kind of educational retreats where he's teaching people how to process chickens. He has experts coming in on how to defend your home, how to build community. And so the conversation with Robert today is just a conversation between two guys with similar interests that are friends, just talking about the state of the world, what we're seeing around us, the threats that we're seeing, but more importantly, what to do about it, how to remove that state of paralysis or that state of fear, and actually start doing some things that get you closer to a place where you're like, you know what?
• 3:38
If things go sideways, I think I'm gonna be okay for a little while. Right? And that's the point. That's what you wanna get to. It's not about having some, you know, million dollar doomsday bunker.
• 3:46
It's about being in a place where you've learned who your neighbors are, you make sure your bases are covered, and you can get to a place where you feel like, you know what, I've got my my solid stability, and most importantly, a stability that's rooted in faith. And we're gonna get into that into the discussion today. And so the conversation is very practical. It's very hands on. If...
• 4:09
Again, if you're someone that has been interested or thinking that you should be doing more to prepare, in any kind of scale, whether you're just at the very beginning of your journey or you're very advanced into it, I think you're gonna take a lot away from this discussion. And so, any, I guess we'll just kind of dive in. Now before we jump in though, make sure that you like and share. If you're listening on Apple Podcast in particular, if you wanna leave a little review on there, that's really help us with the algorithm. But yeah, I hope that you enjoy the show and thank you for being here for Man in America.
• 4:36
So, welcome to... This is my interview with my good friend, Robert Toombs. Mister Robert Toombs, man, it's, it's good to have you on the show. We've... We recently met through a friend that connected us, and you had known to the show.
• 4:50
We had a nice long talk together, and I'm I'm just absolutely looking forward to just diving into this with you. So thank you, man, for giving us your time tonight.
• 4:59
Speaker 2: No. Absolutely, Seth. You know? And first, big fan, and it is an honor to come on here with you. You know what?
• 5:05
It's, I I... If you would have told me five years ago that I would be here hanging out with Seth Whole House on the Man in America Podcast, I would have told you you were insane. But, you know, what a world we live in. Even with all the turmoil and the craziness, you know, this is what happens through community.
• 5:22
Speaker 1: It is, actually. Yes. It was it was just a friend of mine that said, hey. I was telling him about the the book I've got coming out and the community that we're building, and just talk about some of these things. He's like, you should connect with Robert.
• 5:32
And I was like, oh. And so we connected, and, anyway, the rest is history. And, so, you know, I've... I I kind of bridge between a lot of different topics. I've been doing a lot of hidden history and kind of deep dive information, you know, lace...
• 5:48
You know, recently. I've been really kind of a lot less into politics. I... I've... Not because I've just completely given hope...
• 5:53
Given up hope on it, but it's just... I feel like so much of it is just... It's... It just doesn't get you anywhere. You keep consuming it and consuming it, but as...
• 6:00
You're kind of left empty at the end of the day. And... But the other big thing for me is just preparedness and and not necessarily, you know, building doomsday bunkers, though I wish I could afford that. I'd love to have a nice big old, you know, missile silo bunker or something. But the it's hard to talk about all the things I see happening in the world, whether it's coming geophysical events or these things popping off in The Middle East or any of these things that are happening.
• 6:31
Being able to talk about those things, even just a distrust towards the government, distrust towards the political system. And I always like to come back to giving people agency. And so much of it is... The agency comes down to, you just gotta get your own house in order. You gotta build your local community.
• 6:46
You gotta learn how to be self reliant, because the whole thing's kinda falling apart. And so, anyway, you've got such an interesting story. So I'd love to hear a little bit of your backstory. But then also, I'd love to hear, once you get through that, just more of your perspective of what you see happening right now, especially here in America. So I'll I'll let you just jump in wherever you feel comfortable, Robert.
• 7:09
Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely. No. You you you hit the nail on the head there. You know, the politics thing, I don't get deeply into politics.
• 7:18
I I think that, you know, personally, I just feel like there's there's just good and bad on both sides, and it's a big smoke screen, you know, smoke and mirrors to get us distracted from focusing on what matters, and that is local community and sustainability. You know? And that's and that's something that we've been trying to do with, you know, our event, the mountain readiness for the past five years is build solid local community, get people involved. People have asked me what the hardest part of running my event was, and I and I tell them it's not emptying trash. It's not setting up tents.
• 7:55
It's not hours and hours and hours of marketing and social media. It's it's convincing people who don't like people to come hang out with people. You know? And and and it sounds crazy, but in in the world of of preparedness, a lot of people get into this mindset of, you know, I'm just gonna lone wolf it. Me and my family, we're just gonna be fine.
• 8:18
And, you know, my upbringing as a child for my first fifteen years was just that. It was myself, my mother and father, and I have a younger brother and sister. And we lived completely off grid. That's no running water, no electricity. We lived in a tent for over a year, at one point in time.
• 8:38
A four person tent, five people. And and I'm telling you, that's that's not the type of life you want to live. Now I'm not saying if, you know, the power grid goes down or something of that nature that, you know, everybody is gonna see that type of lifestyle. But if you don't take basic steps to at least have food on the shelf and things of that nature and especially building that local community. And I and I don't mean just bring any old person in.
• 9:06
You know? It's your neighbor. Go find out who your neighbor is. See if it's somebody that you could actually work with because just down, it doesn't have to be civil unrest. It could just be natural disasters.
• 9:17
We've seen tons of them, and it... And it's continued to get worse, it appears. You know, hurricane Helene was right in our backyard. We saw a ton of that. There was people there during hurricane Helene who were very prepared.
• 9:30
They had the house with plenty of food on the shelf, the generators, the solar, and in a few seconds, it was all gone rushing down a river. And so without local community, that would have been the end for them.
• 9:45
Speaker 1: So I actually wanna tell you about something that actually I take. Right? So I interviewed these guys from Neutronics, and so this is called the Neutronics Man's Edge Natural Testosterone Booster. So I've been really trying to work on testosterone, working out, you know, heavy lifting, you know, supplements, looking at my diet, etcetera. And this is something honestly, like, I can tell you, I I take it.
• 10:06
I take a couple, droppers per day. It's actually really good. Like, I feel how it affects me. So basically, what it is, it is specifically designed for men who are determined to improve their health, right, vitality, and overall performance. And so there's a handful of things in this that really, really help, especially specifically boost your testosterone.
• 10:24
Things like long jack, fenugreek is another one, a few other things, there's n o two in there. There's also this I g f one. So they they... There's something they derive from deer antler velvet, which directly, so I g f one stands for insulin like growth factor. Right?
• 10:38
So it's often called the the master growth factor in the body. And so its job is to tell your cells to basically grow, repair, and regenerate tissue. So your IGF-one levels actually drop after you get past age 21, start dropping. And so low levels are associated with reduced muscle, loss of strength, also decline in your cognitive function, you know, your mood, and everything. And so, you know, boosting your IGF one is really essential for muscle recovery, supporting healthy immune system, and all that kind of It's really good.
• 11:07
This is the world's strongest natural IGF one is what this is in this. And so, again, like, I personally take it. I feel the effects of it. I feel like it's actually... It kinda gives me a little boost in my mood, more energy, my workouts are better.
• 11:20
Whether you're man watching this or if you're a wife and you say, hey, you know, your husband to kinda boost these things for himself, I recommend giving it try. Like, honestly, it it tastes nice. Like, you know, I I use it daily. I don't I don't like recommending things I wouldn't use myself. So if you wanna check it out, you go to neutronicslabs.com/seth, this will be in the description.
• 11:38
You get 50% off with auto ship and you get a free platinum bottle of IGF one. So use code Seth for an extra 10% off. So again, it's gonna be in the description below. So go to neutronicslabs.com/seth, and you'll get that special deal there.
• 11:53
Speaker 2: So, you know, growing up for me was... You know, my father was 41 when I was born, and my mother was much, much younger. So it it was kind of a a messed up situation, from the get go, but he had he had lived in a... He's... He...
• 12:12
A good chunk of his life. And, of course, he's still alive. He's 91 years old now, still living out in the woods. My brother, my younger brother finally moved out with him the first of this year, to help him because all this time, you know, he's been living on his own for twenty five years now, splitting firewood, eating out of the garden, I mean, all by himself. And it...
• 12:33
It... And it's a hard life. Very resilient guy. But but, you know, he... When he married my mother, he had already been divorced.
• 12:44
He'd he'd lived all his life. He was living out in California, and he was tired of the world. You know, he was the guy that's like, you know what? I'm checking out. I don't want to see anybody else.
• 12:56
And so, you know, I was born into this whole world of of living on your own with with no real out... Outside contact. I mean, we we would still go to town occasionally, but for the most part, you know, we were homeschooled. We were living off the land. We did odd jobs such as logging or, harvesting witch hazel or digging iron ore by the truckloads.
• 13:22
You know? Not a lot of money there. You know? The the the Ozarks Of Missouri has a lot of iron ore. You know?
• 13:28
You fill up a whole truck bed full of iron ore, get you about $10. You know? So you got a whole day for $10. So, you know, that lifestyle is kind of what that... That's my roots to the whole preparedness thing.
• 13:40
And and and and it was showing me what life is like when you don't build that solid community and when you don't get your your home in order.
• 13:52
Speaker 1: Yeah. One one interesting point with that came to mind is that the, the book One Second After, which was, how do you... I forgot how pronounce his last name.
• 14:01
  Speaker 2: William
• 14:02
  Speaker 1: Forschith. Okay.
• 14:03
  Speaker 2: Forschith. Forschith. Okay.
• 14:06
Speaker 1: And and I remember there's a there's a part in that book where he's talking about describing America. And he describes America as being this exotic flower in a greenhouse, that most people live their lives in the same way, that their their ability to live and be healthy is built upon this very artificial greenhouse built around them that's maintained the temperature, that has watering for them, everything. And, you know, it's... If you live even where you are, if you're growing a tropical plant, say you wanna grow a little key lime tree, you can't leave it out in the winter. You have to have that thing in a temperature controlled greenhouse during those...
• 14:42
The the seasons where it's colder. And... But there's... The point being is that there's so much of our life that has become just built on that. And it's interesting that you spent your life living with...
• 14:56
Especially that first big chunk of it without all that stuff because I think for a lot of people... And this is, I think, kind of the more frightening part about just the state of where our country is, we don't live in a way any... Anything close to how our grandparents or great grandparents lived. And I think that if there was an event like this for a lot of people, I think not lot people that are watching this show, they've heard this a lot, but they wouldn't know the first thing to do. Like, after day two, they'd be out drinking out of puddles in the street because they just couldn't figure out, like, Oh, the water stopped working.
• 15:27
So, anyway, it's interesting just kinda reflecting that, but you mentioned that... Just that that kinda sense. And so, yeah, that that little kinda line from the book came to me.
• 15:35
Speaker 2: Yeah. No. Absolutely. That's a great book. We actually have the film crew that just produced the movie is coming to the event here.
• 15:42
  Speaker 1: That's cool.
• 15:43
Speaker 2: Super excited about it. Can't wait to see these
• 15:45
Speaker 1: sneak peek. Let's cover the event real quick just to... That way people... Because we're gonna keep we're gonna keep referring to it as we go on. So, so walk us through what this is.
• 15:55
Speaker 2: Yeah. So mountain readiness, you know, five years ago, I decided, I decided that I wanted to have an event that focused on all areas of preparedness. You know, there's a lot of events out there. Some of them are... You know, it's a home event or a bushcraft event or it's a preparedness event, but nobody liked to cross pollinate those things.
• 16:14
And I wanted something where it was more of a one stop shop and it was focusing on real world practical skills. So, you know, we don't just delve into homesteading and soil health and cellular health. We get into tactics and combatives, off grid living, officer vehicle repairs, you know, down to how to plug a tire, how to patch your radiator, using hijacks. So we... You know, our forefathers were well rounded individuals.
• 16:44
They took care of themselves, and they had those skills that have kinda just dwindled off now, and it... And it's almost, taboo. My wife was, military and law enforcement, and and many times she was on the side of the road helping a grown man change his tire because he had no idea how to change it. You know? And that's where we become in in this world.
• 17:11
We we have have got an easy button now. Alright? It doesn't matter what you do pretty much so, at least here in The United States, is you can always tap out. Alright? And and it kind of...
• 17:25
You know, you never see your full potential, with that easy button. You know, our forefathers, hundreds of years ago, all day long, they they, you know, and come to spring, they sowed the land. They they planted crops, and then they're they're tending the crops. In the fall, they're harvesting, and they're getting ready for the hard winter. And if they missed any of those marks, if they didn't check a box, they didn't get enough food put on the shelf, you know, they didn't have the easy button to just roll down to Wally World and grab something off the shelf, you were probably going to be eating your horse.
• 18:04
Right? As graphic as that may sound
• 18:06
  Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
• 18:07
Speaker 2: You know, we have that option now. If I don't have enough firewood stacked up here and and I run out, well, I just, you know, kick on the propane or kick on the electric heater.
• 18:18
Speaker 1: Or going to Facebook Marketplace and find some guys can deliver Yeah. Pickup truck for $200. Right?
• 18:23
Speaker 2: And and pay for a natural resource that you have. You know? And so I I think that's where we... We've went kinda wrong. We've...
• 18:30
I don't wanna say we're spoiled because we have... I feel we've been fed all of this modern modern push button conveniency to entrap us Yeah. Into this facade that everything is always good here and nothing could ever happen bad in The US Of A like you see in these other countries.
• 18:52
Speaker 1: Exactly. So just pull up real quick. So the the website is mountainreadiness.com. You go to the events, and the main one we're gonna be talking about... Well, two, the Sovereign Health Summit, but also the the more preparedness oriented one is the the fallout event.
• 19:04
And so Yes. It's actually... So it takes place. It's this month. So it's October twenty third to twenty fifth.
• 19:09
I'm gonna be there. Actually, I'll be there camping with you, which is kind of exciting for me because I haven't gone camping in a long time.
• 19:15
Speaker 2: Man, we are looking forward to it.
• 19:16
Speaker 1: Oh, we're gonna have some fun. So I'm gonna be there. A lot... You have a huge roster of of just really, really smart people, just top of the... You know, top class educators, you know, just excellent resources, professionals that live live this stuff.
• 19:32
And, so there's all kinds of stuff like that. And then... So there's also hotels, half an hour, twenty five minutes, half hour away if if you want hotels. And... But tell them because I...
• 19:42
You're you're... We're giving away free tickets. Right? I think we've got... You've got, what, 20 free tickets for the Man in America audience you're giving away.
• 19:48
So walk us through that real quick.
• 19:50
Speaker 2: I am. Absolutely. So, you know, right there on the mountain readiness website, under the events on the homepage, you'll see, you know, mountain readiness fallout right there. Right next to it is the, sovereign health summit. And, what we're doing is is, you know, we we saw a deficiency with mountain readiness that we've been running for the past, five years.
• 20:11
And that was we focused so much on, you know, homesteading and tactics and survival and and all these different things that matter a lot, but we kinda missed the mark on the real foundation of preparedness, which is health. You know? And, you know, I think we we spoke about this off camera, but I have a friend of mine down the road who... He's got all the things. He's got pallets of food.
• 20:35
He's got all the the freedom seeds and freedom seed slingers that he could possibly ever own. And we're having this conversation one day, and he looked at me and said, you know, Robert, if something was to really go wrong in the world... And he said, I'm not gonna make it more than, like, three months. He said, just come get my stuff. He said, I'm on 15 medications.
• 20:58
He said, I've got about three months worth of supply. And he said, once they're gone, I'm done. That's it. Checked out. And it and it and it struck a chord.
• 21:05
It it it hit me hard. And I was like, you know, we've been focusing on what kind of gear that you need and and all these these different things, but we we miss that whole health part. You know? And and it... And it's valid.
• 21:18
It's valid. I mean, we're... We are full time homesteaders here in North Carolina, and and that that has been our huge focus for these past two years is making sure... You know, I I hate to use the word self reliant because it's kind of a facade. It's it's it's kind of a...
• 21:34
It's not obtainable in this day and age because self self reliant means closing the loop completely. Right? You raise the chicken. You process the chicken. You have the eggs.
• 21:47
You incubate, and it's this full circle. But then it goes a little bit deeper. You know? What's the next level? Well, what is the chicken eating?
• 21:53
You know? Where are getting your feed from? So it's just this on and on and on and on. So, you know, self reliance is kind of one of those unobtainable things, and that's why we push so hard with community. And with the Sovereign Health Summit, we broke that off to focus on the foundation of preparedness, which is your health.
• 22:12
Speaker 1: And so these events are, so the Sovereign Health Summit is a couple days after the the fallout event. And so if someone wants to if someone wants to to get one of these free tickets, right, how does that work? Because... And and does it also apply if they wanna... If they're in town, they wanna do both both events?
• 22:31
  What does that look like?
• 22:33
Speaker 2: Yeah. So mountain readiness is October 23 through the twenty fifth. And then the twenty sixth, we're gonna flip it to the sovereign health summit, which kicks off the twenty seventh through the thirty first. And so what we did here was is is to cross pollinate and get people involved from both sides of this because, you know, the health the health world is kind of a different different, people and... Than the preparedness, and we're all about getting people involved on both sides of this.
• 23:01
So what we did was is if you go to Mountain Readiness and you scroll over to the sovereign health summit, you can purchase a ticket. You can go down and scroll down to the ticket section, and you'll see, it will say, five day general admission pass. So, you know, if you go there, buy tickets, you can scroll down to the five day general admission pass. And if you use, code Seth, it'd be the... Let's see if we can find it there.
• 23:34
I think it's, should be up at the top.
• 23:37
Speaker 1: Charles, there we go.
• 23:38
Speaker 2: Yep. There it is. Right there. Not the VIP. The...
• 23:41
So that five day general admission pass, guys. When you go to checkout, you enter code, Seth Guest, and it will zero that ticket out at no charge. You're getting it for free. And not only do you get that for free, but you can come to Mountain Readiness, which is the weekend before this as well because we want as many people involved in in what we're doing as possible. The world is going topsy-turvy, and we need things like this, I feel, more than ever now.
• 24:14
So you can get that there. Any additional tickets, of course, you can purchase right there at the same time at checkout. Or if you just want to come one... To one or another, that's an option as well. You know, you can buy tickets for just mountain readiness.
• 24:29
And, of course, we've got a great lineup with, all of our instructors there. And we've kept it cheap. We keep it as cheap as possible because we we truly believe in what we're doing, and we're trying to build a a community of like minded people.
• 24:44
Speaker 1: Well, good. So... Okay. So now now as we reference these events, it'll make sense as we're talking. But it's really, people can I think I'll be there just for the, the, the readiness, you know, the fallout?
• 24:57
And because it's, because I've also, because with the book and the community coming out, it's, it's kind of more my focus right now than the health freedom, which I've also been focused on for a long time as well. But then... So kind of taking a step back and looking, you know, you you know, you you alluded to something before in saying that, really, that we have this normalcy bias. Right? Like, that that this is what...
• 25:19
And I've also been thinking a lot about this as well. Just all this this reinforcement of America, the land of the free, the home of the brave. Like, you know, hey. You're free in America. You're free here.
• 25:29
And I feel like, actually, that's part of the the SIOP is is to convince us that we're so free that we don't see the cage in front of us. And it's like, well, you're free unless you don't pay your your property tax, unless you don't wanna give your kid the jab into certain states, unless you there's all these things that, that, you know, you you think that you're free, but actually, I think we're a very, very heavily controlled society, but it's it's it's very it's very hidden. And so... But I think that when you're talking about this idea, this concept of this normalcy bias, right, this idea that, well, America's always been strong. America's...
• 26:05
You know, it's like, so we're always gonna be that in the future that the... You become so biased towards just the normal. And I think that COVID really kind of shook things up a lot for that. But when I look around and I see America... And I'm really fascinated with social engineering and a lot of the propaganda and different aspects of how society, how culture can be shifted and changed and people after a few generations forget everything.
• 26:30
And I think that America has been very intentionally led down this path where we've become very dependent on very fragile supply chains. We've become very dependent on the government, on our addictions to social media and entertainment. And I think for a lot of people, they've gotten... You know, they're not used to doing hard labor. They're not used to doing the kind of work it takes to survive.
• 26:54
But I think that it's been part of a plan because they... I think eventually they don't want this country to exist in the same way that it is now. And if if you can... You know, it's like if you can kind of poison your enemy camp before you attack, and you go in there or you get them all drunk and they're all just kind of partying and indulging, hey. That's the that's the right time.
• 27:12
And I think that that's about where a lot of this nation is right now.
• 27:17
Speaker 2: No. I agree with you, Seth. It's, and and it's it's shoved down our throats every time you you turn around. You know, it doesn't matter if you're turning on the television or you're you're on the phone, social media, you're walking through the grocery store. I mean, it's just in your face nonstop is...
• 27:35
And and and distractions. You know? Everywhere we look is a distraction, and it draws us... It it takes us away from the things that matter, which is family and community and your neighbors. And, and and I think that's what the problem is is is we have had the cloak.
• 27:53
You know, the veil has been pulled down. The wool is over everybody's eyes. And we have just this horrible false sense of security. You know? Growing up for me, it was, now I will say this about life, you know, that first fifteen years is it was very hard, but it was also easy.
• 28:13
And I know that sounds weird. You know? But when you wake up in the morning and you know that you don't get enough firewood stacked up, then you're gonna be cold. It it changes your perception because you know instantly what you have to do. You know, I woke...
• 28:32
I would wake up. My job was was firewood and was packing water. And if we weren't next to a spring or a body of water or something like that, well, that water pack could be, you know, a half mile or better. I remember we were living in Arkansas up... Way up on a hill.
• 28:47
We had a... An actual yoke, and we would hang a five gallon jerry can on both sides of it. And so we were about half mile up that hill. And I can tell you for a family of five, you see a lot of these things on, you know, all the social media about survival. And, you know, one person is one gallon per day per person in the house and all these things.
• 29:06
It's all it's all garbage. You know, for a family of five, for me, that was 25 to 30 gallons of water a day that we use because, you know, hygiene is a big thing. You have to be able to clean yourself. You have pets. You have, livestock.
• 29:20
You've got, washing washing and cooking. You know? So, we get all this stuff shoved down our throats even on the the survival and preparedness side of things, and it and it... The numbers just don't add up in the real world. You know?
• 29:35
It's... It... We're... And and so so living that way was was a huge eye opener for me. Of course, I really didn't realize it at the time, you know, until I got out on my own as an adult.
• 29:48
But just down to that, you know, fires. You don't start three fires a day to cook. Alright? That means that fire is rolling twenty four seven, 365. You know?
• 30:00
But you have to heat heat water if you wanna take a hot bath. Otherwise, you're taking a cold cold bath. You know? You're not gonna just keep so it's this never ending monotonous thing that we saw over and over and over again. But the easy part was is we knew exactly what we were supposed to do as soon as we woke up in the morning because if we didn't do it, we paid the consequence.
• 30:23
If we... If if my father missed that buck, we knew we were going to bed hungry. You know? And that's and that's... I think people don't see that because we have all of these instant gratification convenience at our fingertips.
• 30:37
I mean, even living here, we are out in the middle of nowhere, and I can have, Sam's Club deliver food to my doorstep. And I am... I'm I'm 30 miles from the nearest town, a mile up the side of a mountain, and I can get fresh fresh produce delivered to my doorstep. Now I wouldn't eat it because it's tainted. Alright?
• 31:00
But, you know, I I think that's what's happened is we've just, we're not spoiled, but we've we've definitely been geared from a young age to be dependent upon the cyst... In this system.
• 31:13
Speaker 1: And so living like this, obviously, I I would say someone like you, with your focus, that you developed a situational awareness that extends beyond just your own your own region. I'm sure that you're... You know, as a lot of people that are thinking like this, or you're following a lot of the bigger things happen, right, that that are unfolding around the world, that are unfolding in this country, and looking for patterns and seeing. And, you know, I wanna get your thoughts on where you stand on this because, you know, my own sense, because I've... In my own way, I'm of following a lot of these things, is that I feel like that we're entering into, I think, what's gonna become some sort of tribulation period.
• 31:53
Right? I'm not getting... Trying to get biblical with it necessarily, but I think that we are in, you know, in what you'd call the days of Noah. I think that we're in a land, in timeline where the same kind of genetic manipulation is happening, the proliferation of evil, you know, all the things that I think the people that kind of have eyes to see, see it everywhere. And I don't think personally that this can be fixed through the political system.
• 32:19
I don't think it can be fixed through any kind of large movement. I think that we're in a place where the only way to fix this thing is the thing has to almost kind of collapse on its own. The evil has to... It has to collapse under the weight of its own evil. And I think that my...
• 32:35
What I see as my role as a father and with the influence that I can have to help educate people is that we have to be able to get through that period. We have to be able to survive and and to get through whatever difficulty is coming, whether it's a a... You know, you know, even Trump's talking about, hey, if the dims win, the midterms, we're gonna have a a nineteen twenty nine depression. Right? You know, I I remember the stories of my great grandma who was alive when I was growing up telling me what her life was like in...
• 32:59
During the great depression, and it was not something that you... You'd wanna go back to. But do you have do you kinda have a sense as you're following and you're watching the signals and everything, do you think that we're gonna be entering into a golden age and everything's gonna get really good, or or where do you think that we're at? What's telling you, what's telling you that?
• 33:20
Speaker 2: Yes. No. I think we are in for some hard times. I just really do. You know?
• 33:30
We're at that two hundred fifty year mark. Right? And, you know, eighty years ago was a world... You know, approximately a world war. Eighty years before that, civil war.
• 33:40
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 33:41
Speaker 2: Roughly eighty years before that, revolutionary war. We are up for at that eighty year for the fourth turning. And so I don't think there is anything that our political leaders can do at this point to undo what's been done. And I don't think that most of them want to. You know?
• 34:01
Yeah. I I think this is... From a young age, we've always been geared to be the little worker ants. Right? You know, go to school.
• 34:11
The bell rings. Go to your class. Do what you're told. Eight to five. Then all of a sudden, we move into the workforce.
• 34:17
Same gig. We're sold that white picket fence, thirty year mortgage, the whole bit. And then maybe before you check out of this life, you get to you get to enjoy a couple years of it. While the whole time, the higher powers that shouldn't be are sitting there with all the profit. And so, you know, it it feels like everyone around us, a a large majority.
• 34:42
Now there is a lot of people waking up. I've seen that, and I will agree with you with that. But there's still this huge amount of people who who, as long as they have a TV dinner and Netflix, you know, they're happy. And so I I... I'm really pushing people to to wake up and clean up that doorstep.
• 34:57
Get your your home in check because right now, as fragile as our infrastructure is... And I'm, I'm talking about roadways. I'm talking about the power grids. You know? You remember just a few years ago, all the bridges that were collapsing all over the place.
• 35:15
You know? I I drove through Chicago not too long ago. You can literally see big chunks of concrete falling off of the the l, you know, rebar hanging out of it. I was through through Saint Louis, went through there, which was my birthplace. I hadn't been through there in twenty years, but, I mean, buildings are literally just falling and crumbling to the ground in these big cities.
• 35:37
And... But on the television, you know, on the on the on the TV, everything is still just kinda peachy. All in all will be good. You know, everything's gonna be great. Don't worry about it.
• 35:45
Gas prices are gonna come back down. Like, I just wonder how as a person, especially as a father and a husband and a grandfather now, as a protector, how how can you not want to get your home in order and be prepared for hard times? Because to me, it is all around me. Everywhere I look is I I don't think we can we can get out of this, Seth. I think it's just inevitable, and we're at that eighty year mark.
• 36:14
  It's... The time is coming.
• 36:17
Speaker 1: And I think that for a lot of people, the... I think there's a lot of people that are... If you look at that that, you know, fight or flight or freeze, I think a lot of people are stuck in that freeze, And that... And that's the hard thing because, yeah, I think that COVID did wake a lot of people up. A lot people thought that just life was peachy, the government's corrupt, but they're not that corrupt.
• 36:35
You know, they... It was a big shock for them. And I think, though, that for someone who's spent, let's just say, the, you know, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty years of their life just living in a pretty peaceful time in America and and every... Always having the... The grocery store is always open.
• 36:50
There's nothing worse than a blackout for a couple of days from a bad winter storm. I think that for a lot of folks, it's overwhelming. And this is why I've got the book coming out, and we have the community, because it's to kind of help people ease into that. Because I think that that's what it is for a lot of people is that it's like, I think if you asked your average person, I'd be curious to do a... Like a man on street type thing, you know, do you think that you should be prepared right now?
• 37:14
Right? Kinda... Do you think that we live in a time where that, you know, bad things could happen? I think most people will probably say yes. So I think it's no longer that people are just oblivious to it.
• 37:24
Like, in the nineties, everyone's making money on the stock market, ignoring everything. I think a lot of people kinda know in their gut that there is a storm coming of some sort. But I think if you also ask these... Those people how... Like, how would you rate your preparedness for this?
• 37:40
I think most people will probably rate themselves relatively low. And I think a lot of it is because they've never really understood how to how to attack it. Right? It's like how to eat an elephant. It's like one bite at a time, but you start looking into preparedness.
• 37:53
And all of a sudden, it's overwhelming. It's like, okay, what what... Do I need a gun? How many guns do I need? Do I need lots of ammo?
• 37:59
Do I have to go buy some food? I can't afford food right now. That that freeze dried food is really expensive. I can't afford that. You know, I live in an apartment.
• 38:06
I'm in a suburb. You know, how how am I gonna have a rain barrel set up? You know, there's all these questions, and it's it's really overwhelming. I think it's really, really overwhelming. I think that's one of the the biggest hurdles for for people is just where do I start?
• 38:22
What do I do? And so, you know, if someone came to you and said, hey, Robert, look, you know, I'm living in a in a townhouse in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, where I lived at one point in my life. And and so I'm I'm really worried, but I'm overwhelmed. What do I do? Right?
• 38:41
How how would you start to to break things down for someone? How would you guide someone in a way that they're not gonna be so scared of this... The daunting process they're gonna run away?
• 38:52
Speaker 2: Yes. And there is a lot of those people. We have a lot of those that come to our event. You know? They've never...
• 38:57
They they see that there's a problem in the world, and they just don't know where to start. And and you're correct. It is overwhelming. For me, it... It's just a normal walk in the park.
• 39:07
You know? This is something that I've been... You know? And it doesn't mean that it's easy. Right?
• 39:11
Homesteading is not easy by far. That's why I'm wearing this dirty shirt and everything. Did literally chores and and all this stuff. You know? 450 chickens running around here.
• 39:21
But but for the person that has lived that that life and they're living in an apartment, maybe in the big city, you know, number one, get to know your neighbor. Alright? Because you're... It's a force multiplier at that point. You know, we can't do it all on our own.
• 39:40
Alright? I am a tradesman. I'm a mechanic. I I, you know, it's nothing for me to jump up and reroof my house or fix the truck. You know?
• 39:49
It doesn't matter if it's a brake job, major engine repair. You know, I've been doing that all my life, but but at a certain point, you still can't do it all. So by teaming up with your neighbor... And let's be honest here when I talk about teaming up with a neighbor. Number one, you should get to know your neighbor, to see if he is a viable asset, or maybe he's not a good neighbor.
• 40:12
And let's be honest, if something goes wrong in the world, I really wanna know who is not the type of person that I wanna be around. Right? So get that ironed out before things go bad. And so, you know, getting to know your neighbor is that force multiplier. Now you have the capabilities.
• 40:29
Maybe this guy is really good at gardening, and this guy is a is a construction worker, and this guy is a mechanic, and you join forces because hard times equals bartering. You know? Monetary, you know, pieces of paper with dead people on it doesn't matter at that point if it's gotten that bad in the world. It's gonna be about, hey. I will trade you this produce if you will help me fix this roof on my house.
• 40:53
And so that would work... I would say that would be number one priority, especially living in a city. Well, let me backpedal. Number one, get out of the city. Number two, if you can't get out of the city, get to know your neighbors.
• 41:07
Speaker 1: Yeah. Actually, I'll make a quick point. One thing I I have repeated so many times before is that if someone is that person, say they're living in the city like that, and say they can't move. Right? Say, you know, you're a single mom and you're...
• 41:18
And you've got, you know, two kids and and you're just barely getting by and you've got one job that, you know, you can't just pick up and go buy, you know, five acres way out in the country. And and, you know, because what about your childcare? What about these kinds of things? But one thing that I say is that, well, what you can start with is, you know, go to your local farm market. A lot of big cities have farm markets.
• 41:37
Farm market is a great place to meet all the people that don't live right in the middle of the city with you because they're on land. You know, and find someone. You know, find someone that has a farm and say, hey, You know, can I come just? I'll bring... I've I've got a kid with me.
• 41:48
My my kid's 10 years old. He's really useful. Can I come spend half every every Saturday with you and just kind? You know? Like, if someone came to you, Robert, say you're at a farm market and someone says, hey, Robert.
• 41:58
Can I come help you with your chickens every Saturday for a couple of hours? You'd probably be like, yeah, absolutely. Right? I mean Absolutely. Someone that you you you you could...
• 42:06
Like, you could trust. Right? And so if that person does that for three or four months, and before you know it, you're having dinner with them and everything, if stuff goes goes south and and say there's a grid downstairs or whatever, that person shows up your door and they say, Hey, Robert, look, you know, can I can I stay with you? You know, if if you just have a little corner of a shed I can sleep in, I will help you. I'll spend all my time helping you with firewood and chickens and everything.
• 42:31
I think that probably most people in your position would say, yeah. You'd see that as an asset, and you'd say, yeah. Right? So I think that's also something that's... It's kind of that perspective is is is those relationships are are so, so important.
• 42:46
Speaker 2: Oh, they are they are. And, you know, we do that with with the local community. I mean, we're processing. We've gotta process a 100 chickens tomorrow. And so we've got people coming over, neighbors of ours that help us.
• 42:58
We, in turn, when they do their chores or work, what you just said as far as a single mother. I think people really need to understand that when you talk about community, it's about are you a viable asset to that community? Everybody talks about, oh, I wanna be part of a tribe. I wanna be part of the community. Oh, I'm coming to your house if things go sideways, when things go south.
• 43:23
And and everybody misses that mark of, what can I offer that community? And you gave the great example. You know, the single mom, she can come over and learn how to process chickens and how to take care of a farm. And then if something does go wrong, she she has those viable skills that she can contribute. Because let's be honest, when things get hard, the people that get chopped are the ones that don't have anything to offer.
• 43:52
I mean, that's just the hard fact of the matter. And so if you are that person out there that may hear this chat and you're sitting there, well, overwhelmed, reach out because I will I will tell you a 100%. Anyone that contacts my wife and I and wants to learn about what we do here on this homestead, 100%, we will show you. It will not cost you a dime but sweat equity if you're willing to put that on. And that's what we all have to do.
• 44:24
We have to make sure that we've got these skills not only to help ourselves, but something as an offering to a community.
• 44:32
Speaker 1: Absolutely. I mean... And, really, I mean, this is this is exactly why we were... We built the ARC platform. Right?
• 44:40
Because, obviously, go to your local farm market, you know, you can do those kinds of things, but that's what... You know, this is a need that we saw. Because my wife and I, early twenty twenty, we... Beginning of twenty twenty, we were living in a high rise in New York City of all places. Wow.
• 44:53
It's just where life had come. You know, I grew up out in the country, but just where life had me. And so we we moved back to Ohio, and we ended up getting a bunch of land out in the middle of nowhere. And we had, you know, we had everything you you think you'd need, you know, all the the the the freedom seeds that you would need. And, you know, we bought...
• 45:10
We got a freeze dryer. We had 50 chickens. I mean, I was freeze drying a 120 eggs a week. I mean, just processing nonstop. But then...
• 45:18
But also, we had huge... We built gardens everywhere. Then come time to harvest, We realized that we were overwhelmed. We had fruit rotting on the on the plant. We had, you know, tomatoes rotting, peppers rotting, and we couldn't get anyone to come help us with it.
• 45:31
Like, we're telling our friends, like, hey, come... If you wanna come help us, like, harvest, we've got 50 tomato plants that, you know, come help us harvest. We'll we'll make, you know, we'll make some tomato sauce, we'll can it and take some home. But no one was really that interested in it. And that's when it really hit me, is that that was my...
• 45:48
Our own lesson of actually that that community is the most important thing. But it's also hard to find a community, because if I was looking for a community at that area, I mean, I went to a local farm market, met a few people, but it's like, well, how do you even start? Especially these days when it's like there's so many different divides in people, and there's just all kinds of strange stuff. It's like, how do you even find your tribe? And so that's, I guess, what...
• 46:10
You know, obviously, you know, in the ARC, we're gonna have education. We're gonna have, you know, guest experts and q and a's and all kinds of stuff like that, online university for preparedness. But the the fundamental part of it is that we wanted to build a tool that would make it really easy for people to start meeting the people around them that, that share their same values, share their same kind of, you know, perspective that we came from the creator, that our rights come from God, and that it's our responsibility to act this way. So, anyways, interesting you said that because a lot of people that I've talked to, a lot things I've read, they'll say, talk about prepping experts, hey, what's the biggest thing? They'll say, hey, the first thing you gotta do, make sure you get, you know, three months worth of food.
• 46:54
Make sure this, make sure this. But you're right, actually, and when we moved into where we are now a couple years ago, and so I started kinda getting to know my neighbors. There's one neighbor right across the street that one of his side businesses is selling firewood. He's got probably an acre and a half of his logs sitting there. It's like, okay.
• 47:09
That's a great resource. There's this wonderful woman that's retired. She's always walking her little dog up and down the road. Start talking to her, wow, she's a retired nurse, right? She lives two houses down.
• 47:19
Right? So, you start building this idea of of what that looks like, and I think that that's so important. I'll just say, since I mentioned it, I'll bring it up real quick. So, if people, if you're watching or listening, so, we've already opened up the ARC, but it's... We're doing it in batches, because we've got...
• 47:36
I'm now approaching 17,000 people on the waitlist, and so we can't let everything all in at once. So, if you want to sign up, join the waitlist to be notified when this... When the ARC is kinda open up for the next round of people coming in, you just go to buildtheaarc.com. So it's buildthearc, it's arc with ark. Buildthearc.com, put in your name and your email, and then we will, notify you as soon as the next round opens up for people to come in.
• 48:02
But, anyways, I just wanted to highlight that because I think it's right... It's really important that you that you mentioned community as the first thing.
• 48:08
Speaker 2: Abs... Absolutely. The, I am super excited about what you're doing with ARC. I cannot wait to get in there. I'm I'm gonna have to get on there and join.
• 48:18
  I I guess I need to to
• 48:20
Speaker 1: I've got I've got a seat set aside for you. I just gotta set it
• 48:22
  Speaker 2: up for you.
• 48:22
Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm gonna... You... You've got some special access to get in there, so I'll get you soon.
• 48:26
Speaker 2: You just let you let me know where I need to go so I can get signed up because you were feeling the you were feeling the gap that I cannot. You know, with in person events, gas prices, you know, it is so hard. That's why we've started trying to do events in different states. You know, this year, we had our first Mountain Readiness West, which we did up in Montana. And, we're doing a Texas event in March twelfth through the fourteenth down in Grapeland, Texas.
• 48:53
Because I had all these people, they call me. And, of course, you know, it's a husband and wife. They have two or three kids. They have jobs. They have responsibilities.
• 49:00
And they're like, man, I can just not... I can't curtain off that much time. I I really wanna come, but I just can't afford it. I can't afford the drive. I can't afford the time off from work.
• 49:11
And so we've been trying to put dots in in in... On the map to bring preparedness to people, but you fill that void right there. You know, not everybody can make it to an event. And so by having a platform to network, you know, that's the biggest part. That is the biggest value that you can have is networking.
• 49:33
And that's what we see with with our mountain readiness is people come here. It's crazy. I've seen it a 100 times now for the past five years. Someone will show up, and they will meet someone that is literally almost their neighbor states away. You know?
• 49:46
Hey. You live in that town? Well, I'm only twenty minutes from you. You know? And so you're feeling that void that we can't.
• 49:54
Speaker 1: Yeah. And that's what we saw. And so there's a lot more to it is why. So we're having chapters. So, like, every state has a chapter, then every country as we start doing more international.
• 50:02
So say... I mean, maybe maybe you wanna be the the the North Carolina chapter head. Right? Meaning that, you know, there's gonna be a chapter head and what you... You know, the idea is that you start, you know, self organizing.
• 50:12
It's it's not something we're essentially organizing. I don't want that headache. But you might say, hey. There's a chapter meetup. We're all gonna go down to go see Billy Bond's farm.
• 50:19
He's gonna do a a little walk through on permaculture. Or, you know, that's But the also, it's about kind of sharing information and knowledge. So the other cool thing is that... So when you sign up, you can add in all the areas where you have expertise. So maybe you're gonna put in a diesel mechanic, you know, a chicken, you know, homesteading, etcetera.
• 50:39
And so if you're in the, say, the homestead group and you... There's a way when you're kinda putting a post in there, it's kinda like Facebook, but you can say, is it a question? Is it this? You say it's a question. You say, what's the topic?
• 50:49
And, you know, you say, okay, topic is chickens or diesel. And if you've got on your profile that you're an expert in that, it'll ping you and it'll say, hey, someone's got a question about an issue they're having with a fuel sensor in their Cummins, you know, diesel truck. And so that's the whole idea, is that then you can DM someone, right? It's it's it's encrypted communication, so that person can message you and say, hey, Robert, know, I need some help with this. And then you say, well, hey.
• 51:16
Well, how about I'll barter you? Right? I see on your thing that you're a seamstress. So how about I'll bring you some some old clothes that need to be sewn. Right?
• 51:23
And you can sew those while I go fix your truck. Right? And, like, that's, like, that's how a community works. Right?
• 51:29
Speaker 2: No. You know, I am... You're not supposed to be envious of your neighbor and jealous, but I will say, number one, I'm jealous of your hair. Number two, your tech your technology skills. I I have none.
• 51:44
Speaker 1: It's my wife. It it is 98%. I'm not kinda the ideas guy a
• 51:48
Speaker 2: little bit. Well, mine too. My wife, you know, she's she's the she's the brains and the beauty. I'm the brawn and the strong back. I just...
• 51:58
I'm a I'm a complete Neanderthal when it comes to technology. You know? And and I've had to learn way more in these past five years doing these events because everything is about, you know, social media and marketing, all this stuff that I really don't care about, but you have to. But when you first explain how your your app is working, man, I would... I I was tingling.
• 52:19
I I was so excited. I cannot wait to get in here because it is. That's just phenomenal. Being able community is not just a whole bunch of people that that that that, mooch off each other. It's about people who have something to offer and and barter with.
• 52:34
Like, bartering will be a thing. You know? I I really foresee to me, not to get biblical biblical as you said, but I feel that that whole Babylon falling thing is going to come with digital currency coming into play. Yeah. And, you know, unfortunately, like you said before, there...
• 52:54
You don't own anything. Right? You don't pay your taxes on your house. Guess what? It's not yours anymore.
• 52:59
You don't you don't license your car. Well, not yours. Can't you can't drive on the Kings Road unless you pay the tax. Right? Even though we're free, it's a facade.
• 53:09
And so when the rug finally gets pulled out from under us and digital currency, in my opinion, is gonna be how that is done, then you will be down to bartering, whether it be skills or product with your neighbor.
• 53:24
Speaker 1: Yeah. Unless you unless you take the mark. Right?
• 53:27
Speaker 2: Or there's the other flip side. You know? And, unfortunately, there's gonna be a lot of people that do that. You know? How do you look at your children and you say, yeah.
• 53:35
I'm sorry. We're just gonna have to go hungry another day. Right? I remember them days. I remember sitting there, you know, my parents, I remember going out and and, I remember we hadn't ate for almost three days.
• 53:48
And I think I was about 10. That would've... You know, my my brother would've been really young at that time. We're three years apart. I remember we went out, and and my mother had some flour and salt.
• 53:59
That was it. And we went out and picked blackberries all day long. You know? I remember my mother, it's like yesterday, you know, yelling us as... At us kids, quit eating all the black blackberries.
• 54:11
You know? We're picking them and eating them, covered in... And I remember we, we brought them back to the camp. That was when we were living in the tent there in in the Ozarks outside of Ellenton, Missouri up on this big hill, middle of nowhere. We've got the campfire there, and my mother has the big, you know, the cast iron like cauldron.
• 54:29
You know, you you hang over the top. And I remember she's got... She put all those blackberries in there, and she made dumplings. You know? So we got this blackberry dumplings cooking.
• 54:38
And the smell, you know, I never forget that smell. It just... You haven't ate for three days, and you're just hungry. You know? You're a child.
• 54:45
You don't understand. And I hear my mother screaming, and I turn around, and we had these very small chickens. They weren't even laying. I mean, there wasn't... They looked like pigeons.
• 54:57
You know? They were that small. And they had jumped into the cauldron in the... Into the pot, and they're eating all the blackberries. She runs at them.
• 55:06
The the thing flips over. All the berries spill out all over the ground into the fire. Chickens go running off. And, you know, it's just this huge... We went from way up here, way down here.
• 55:19
And I will tell you, those were the most tasty little chickens I've ever ate because that's
• 55:24
  Speaker 1: what I did.
• 55:25
Speaker 2: You know? And so, you know, it sounds... I laugh about it, but I want people to understand that you don't want that life. That life is not what you want for you and your family because I'm gonna tell you, when you have to look at your children and tell them, I'm sorry. You don't get to eat again tonight.
• 55:45
You will do very atrocious things as a human to make sure your child is is taken care of. Do not put yourself in that position. You know, we have this period of time now to get things ready. You don't have to have a lot of money for this. I mean, if all is you can you can afford is beans and rice and peanut butter, is it the greatest?
• 56:11
Is it the most healthy? Absolutely not. Is it better than starving? Yes. And it doesn't cost anything.
• 56:16
Are you watching Netflix? Well, cancel it and take that money and go buy you some beans and rice and and flour and and staples to get you through because the the hard fact is is that when you are faced with nothing and your children are hungry, you will do very bad things that you would never normally do.
• 56:39
Speaker 1: Which is also part of the thing too in this kind of, you know, operational security and knowing that the people around you might also act like that. And that's the tricky part. I hope that our our nation never descends into that. But, you know, even in, you know, someone that has always been a great neighbor, if they're, if they're not prepared at all, and yet they know that you're the one that has all the preparations because you're always talking about it and say, Oh, look at this, you know, I got a, you know, I got a big box of my Patriot Supply and this and that and the other. You know, that...
• 57:10
That's not good for you. And so, kind of looking at just, we're coming up on an hour here, but just wanted just to kind of look at... So, you know, when I kind of mentioned some more practical things, you know, building community, I I couldn't agree more. Right? Just, you know, that's that's that's so important.
• 57:29
But what are just some other disc... You know, kind of... What is the elevator pitch? Right? Or what are some of just the core things that say, hey, if you can do these core things, they're kinda like, hey, look, if you live in an area, doesn't matter where you live actually, get a little Sawyer water filter.
• 57:44
Right? Have some way of filtering water. You know, they cost $20 or get a little, you know, grail water bottle or whatever it is. Have some way of at least filtering water or get some chlorine tablets. So, you know, so what are some other things that that you can tell people that even these little inexpensive things you can do that drastically improve your level of preparedness?
• 58:05
Speaker 2: No. Absolutely. You know, one of the first things... And, of course, water. You know, it's always a fire thing.
• 58:09
Water, fire, food, shelter, security. Right? But water, of course, is of the utmost importance. You've gotta have water. One thing, a piece of equipment, it it literally costs, I think it's a $120.
• 58:24
It was developed by Aqua Resource, and, it's called the h two GO. This little device is got a solar panel in it. It has, you can select what type, how many gallons, you know, liters. There you have it right there. That device right there with simple salt, doesn't matter what the salt it is.
• 58:49
It could be table salt. It could be softener salt. Doesn't matter if it's sodium chloride. This thing with simple salt and a little bit of water makes chlorine, and you can... That that particular one, that global will make up to...
• 59:06
I think it's five gallons of of of, chlorine that, you know, you can treat five gallons of water at a time. That thing's been tested for over ten years in Haiti, in Africa. It is bulletproof, shockproof. It it can be ran from a USB or the solar panel on the back of it. Think about the capability of taking...
• 59:32
I mean, just complete garbage water and being able to treat it and then run it through a filter, of course, so you can get all the sediment and things like that out. Not only do you have the capabilities of drinking water at that point, you also have the capabilities of a Deacon... A Deegan solution sanitizing. Because you can take that device, and you can mix it to the to the max strength. And now you have the capabilities of sanitizing equipment, wounds, and as a deacons can lose.
• 1:00:04
  Speaker 1: So it's basically... It's it's it's a little chlorine generator. That's basically what it is.
• 1:00:08
Speaker 2: It's a chlorine generator, and all you need is just salt. That's it.
• 1:00:12
Speaker 1: Oh, interesting. Because actually... Because we have a hot tub that we use. It's salt. It's a saltwater hot tub.
• 1:00:17
Right. And and you you always add the salt in it. It has this little cell, and it generates sodium chloride, which is the which is the, you know, the core... What it basically... Different kind of chlorine.
• 1:00:27
It's not like Clorox. It's it's a slightly different version of it. Interesting. So this little thing actually... Because chlorine is...
• 1:00:33
Yeah. That's one of the one of the key fundamentals of water purification. Hey. This means drops per gallon, you know, whatever. So this is a little...
• 1:00:40
So this actually is a chlorine... This is a chlorine producer.
• 1:00:44
Speaker 2: Chlor... Chlorine producer. And, you know, this gentleman with Aqua Resource, he was actually on my, my live a few years ago. He... That brown one there, the global, is actually the version that was made.
• 1:00:59
He designed that for DARPA. The the military came, and they said, we want a a a bulletproof little device that can just withstand a beating anywhere we send troops that can make, chlorine on-site. And so this is... He was making these big, huge pieces of equipment for... In in Africa and Haiti.
• 1:01:22
And so that is the the piece of equipment that he designed for DARPA for the for the US government. And for a $120, it's like a $124 for that device right there or something. Just the sanitizing solution alone. Look. I mean, drinking chlorine, you know, a hundred and something years ago because of dysentery and all the...
• 1:01:42
All of these things, I think it was, like, two out of five children usually died because of the drinking water. After the, the invention of chlorine, that that number dropped down to almost nothing. So knock it all you want to, but if I've got horrible water versus dying from not having water. I think I'll take my option with the chlorine. Right?
• 1:02:05
And who doesn't have salt? I mean, it's like it's like a Glock. Like, if you're gonna have a pistol, have a Glock nine. Right? Because they're everywhere.
• 1:02:12
You know? Not that I'm a big Glock fan, but, you know, who doesn't have salt? It is everywhere. It is cheap. You can store it in a five gallon bucket.
• 1:02:21
Speaker 1: Actually, one of the best things that you can possibly buy for preparedness. Like, I won't find it. I think we've maybe got well, I I I guess my my operational security is terrible because I'm always, know, on podcast talking about these things. But, yeah, at one point, we we have a couple 100 pounds of salt we just bought in this pool. Right?
• 1:02:39
Same. It's like I I usually... Go ahead.
• 1:02:42
Speaker 2: No. No. I was... I'm sorry. I actually carry a thing of, of, sea salt in my pack everywhere I go just for that purpose.
• 1:02:53
You know? I use a a very high end, sea salt, you know, because you're looking at, you know, what is it, nine... 89 trace minerals and things if you have a really good sea salt. And I carry that everywhere because salt is you you can drink all the water you want to, but once you become dehydrated without that salt making the cell lining permeable and pulling water into it, it it will no longer do any any good. So salt, of course, I pack that in my...
• 1:03:21
I've got them in my vehicles. I've got it in my go bags. I've got metric tons of them sitting in buckets because salt... I mean, how many people lost their lives, you know, over salt? You know, salt was worth more than gold at a certain point in time.
• 1:03:37
And there's a reason for that is is just not not only for the health purpose of it, needing salt to actually stay alive, but it's that creature comfort. Imagine a world of just... I don't know how many pieces of chicken you've ate without salt or anything on it, but it gets kinda boring. And that... That's a thing.
• 1:03:55
  That's a thing. Yeah.
• 1:03:57
Speaker 1: But, also, you need food preservation. Right? You know? There's there's there's all kinds of different functions of it. And so, okay.
• 1:04:05
So, yeah, so water purification. Any other, you know, any other kind of quick tips, easy solutions for people?
• 1:04:13
Speaker 2: Yes. Go... Most most of your, local colleges and things... A lot of times, I know I know... Or or just homesteads in general.
• 1:04:25
Like, go out there and and and take some take some classes in basic automotives and and carpentry. How how much money do we spend on keeping our cars running? You know? And and, you know, of course, the EMP, maybe your car runs, maybe it doesn't. You know?
• 1:04:44
I'm talking about just everyday life. You know, how much money do we spend on a brake job? Right? Brakes are easy. Yeah.
• 1:04:52
  I can teach
• 1:04:52
Speaker 1: someone one You're banging your knuckles or you're
• 1:04:55
Speaker 2: be Sometimes frustrating. There's no doubt about that. Twenty nine years of twisting a wrench, man. I have thrown a lot of wrenches. Wrenches.
• 1:05:02
But, you know, I can't even count how much money... I couldn't afford this place that I live in right now, of where I am. This place was a complete train wreck. In fact, if I turned the camera that way, you'd see a bunch of wires hanging out of the wire... Out of the wall over here.
• 1:05:17
You know? But but because I have those skills, I was able to get this place and then fix it up myself. You know, these are the the things that you really need. People lose... They're like, oh, I gotta have the guns and the and the ammo and all this stuff.
• 1:05:30
No. What you need is is to be able to maintain what you have. Right? That is that is one of those utmost important things that people always miss. Like, it's not what you have.
• 1:05:43
It's can you maintain it for a long period of time. So being able to fix your car, being able to fix your house, being able to take care of livestock, being able to process livestock. You know, this is where you need to deep dive in, and we all have time. You know, doom scrolling on the rectangle of death, like, cut that out and go go meet your farmer neighbor and learn a little something.
• 1:06:07
Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, even canning. Right? Like, you know, just just the basics of canning. Even if you're just doing water bath canning.
• 1:06:13
Right? We, you know, we just we planted a couple apple trees a year and a half ago. And so I probably picked, you know, 20 or 30 pounds of apples. And I thought, okay. Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna learn how to make homemade applesauce and can it.
• 1:06:25
So I ordered a... Found a little food mill, you know, so I cooked all... Cooked them all down and boiled them all down. And then, we've done pressure can before. We got a big old all American pressure canner.
• 1:06:36
But I did water bath canning. I put them in the, you know, the the, I think, pint or quart... Pint jars and just... You boil some water, stick them in there, and, like, well, there you go. So now I've got applesauce that's shelf stable, right, that I grew in my own garden, that...
• 1:06:50
You know, in my own backyard. And and that's, it's just those kinds of things. Well, so, yeah, you're right. Just learning how to maintain. It's also why, you know, I've, you know, kind of slowly invested in good battery powered power tools.
• 1:07:03
I got a whole, you know, kinda suite of Milwaukee tools with a bunch of backup batteries. I've got a couple solar chargers. Something... Even if the grid's down, I can still power my drill. I can still power a circular saw.
• 1:07:14
I can still do those things. Right? That's that's that's key. And one thing I was gonna mention, you mentioned going to your local college or looking for classes. The other thing, and this is where I really fall short, I need to really do and do this, is just emergency medicine.
• 1:07:27
You know, go to your local fire fire department and ask them, hey, is there anywhere you guys have some classes on just basic, you know, kind of EMS training or whatever it is? Just getting basic training of how to treat a bro... How to handle a broken bone, how do you handle a cut that's bleeding, how do you use a tourniquet, right? Some of these things that, and again, I'm I'm completely gapping that area. I I have all the medical supplies.
• 1:07:51
I have all the fancy backpacks full of all that stuff, but I need to actually take a course where I can just learn the basics of how to how to handle those things. Because that right there could be a really, really important part of things. If, you know, if your little kid comes in and they fall and they've cut their leg open, they're bleeding pretty bad, like, did you know that you can use cayenne pepper as a coagulant? Right? It's like, pushing cayenne pepper on it's gonna stop it from bleeding.
• 1:08:13
Right? Some of those things, but then also knowing how to treat. Because, you know, in a situation where you can't just call 911 and have an ambulance show up, like, are 911. And so, you know, what you learn is oftentimes is may... Maybe all you have in those situations, and that's that's a big one as well.
• 1:08:33
Speaker 2: No. No. You're right. You are your own first responder. You know, we live thirty...
• 1:08:39
About thirty five minutes from the nearest town. Right? So if I'm out here running the chainsaw and I give it a little skip back, it... It's on me. Alright?
• 1:08:49
Me or my wife. And so, you know, I've always got a tourniquet in my pocket, and especially if I'm running a chainsaw. I've... I saw my father skip a chainsaw up his shinbone all the way. And, you know, of course, luckily, it didn't hit that artery, but it came very close.
• 1:09:07
And so, you know, that's another thing is is test your gear. Everybody has the bug out bags. Everybody has... Body has the cool guy stuff, and you open up their pack, and here's a tourniquet. Well, it's still in the plastic.
• 1:09:19
I'm gonna tell you right now, if your tourniquet has plastic on it, you got about thirty to sixty seconds to get that thing on... If you hit if you hit an artery, you do not have time to be tearing plastic off a tourniquet. Alright? And so testing that gear is of the utmost importance. If you have a backpack that is your get home bag and you've never put it on and rucked for a mile, two miles, five miles, then there is your your deficiency.
• 1:09:49
You need to iron out deficiencies before it actually matters. And it doesn't matter if it's a a bug out bag, medical. We have this time. The good lord has gave us this time to get yourselves ready, and yet, you know, we we wanna stare at social media. And I get it.
• 1:10:08
You know? It's it's... We're we're brainwashed into it. We are all guilty of it on some some, area, but but, you know, that that would be my thing, you know, when we originally started talking about, you know, what can people do is get out there. You can go to your local town.
• 1:10:25
You were talking about canning. In town, don't ask me, you know, the agriculture. We've taken all kinds of free classes on canning, breaking down chickens. It... It's all free.
• 1:10:35
You just sign up, and that's it. Go... You show up and you put the work in. You gain that knowledge. It doesn't cost you a dime.
• 1:10:42
And so, you know, I think I think that is where people need to start pushing and and and getting their self into that direction is is that it's not going to be like what it is now forever. You know, we've got to start getting our our home in order.
• 1:10:57
Speaker 1: And it's not doom and gloom to think like this. I mean, to me, it's it's almost the opposite. It's acknowledging, hey. Yeah. Bad things might happen, but I'm not scared of them.
• 1:11:07
Right? Like, that's the thing. You you talked about the kind of mark of the beast. It's like, yeah. I mean, it's not here.
• 1:11:11
It may never come. But if it does, you know, I I wanna make sure that I'm doing whatever I can right now to make sure that I'm not having to line up in that line to get whatever that looks like and and my family at risk. And I also find that the more you start doing, the more that fear goes away. Because that fear, you know, it paralyzes you and it causes you to not do anything. And it's the case with a lot of things, right?
• 1:11:32
That's what fear does to us. But when you listen to these kinds of conversations, you go to the events, like what you're putting on, you start getting into these things, you start doing, you start getting confident. You're like, oh, okay, I've got this covered, I've got, now I've got water covered. Actually, we even... Funny enough, I never told you this, but during the, the winter storm that was happening, my wife and I, we we built this quick website.
• 1:11:59
We put this thing up called The Ready Score. And you're gonna love this, right? So, it's kinda like you have a credit report, which is like, well, your delinquencies are here, your, you know, credit usage is here. So we built the ReadyScore, which is kinda like, this is... It's...
• 1:12:11
We have two different tests on here. So, for instance, if you go on here... It's readyscore.com. So you go on here, and you say, Get your free ReadyScore. So you come on here and there's either a quick check, which is two minutes, or there's a full assessment, which is eight minutes.
• 1:12:24
So what you do is you come on here and you can say, Okay, where do you live? I live in a suburban neighborhood, why are you doing this kind of developing mindset? You know, it kinda asks you some really basic questions. Now, there's the longer questionnaire, it goes more into detail. But anyway, you go through and do all this, and you get to the end of it, and it kinda pumps out this little report, and it'll say, Robert, your Ready score is 83 out of a 100.
• 1:12:48
You could be a you could be at a 100, but you gotta get... You you know, you need to have more than a wood heater. You know, recommend solar. You know, you only have two months worth of food. We recommend six months.
• 1:12:58
So we we built this just... It's free too. Right? So for people just to just to have an easy online assessment... People love online assessment tests.
• 1:13:06
I call it What's Your Ready Score? But actually... And even the course, curriculum that we're developing for the community is built off the REDI score. And so you go in there and you you fill out your REDI score, and it's gonna show you all your gaps. And say, hey, Seth, you don't know anything about emergency medicine.
• 1:13:22
That's a big gap. But actually here, we've got a class online course on emergency medicine. So you can take that and so you can slowly get your ready score up. So, anyway, that's that's another kind of cool thing that that we did.
• 1:13:34
Speaker 2: Once... I mean, I... I'm so jealous. I'm so jealous, Seth. If I just had that one of...
• 1:13:39
See, there's my deficiency. Right? We just, here is one of my deficiencies is is technology because there is so much out there like that that can help people. And I'm that Neanderthal that is always fighting it. You know?
• 1:13:53
And and there's a reason, you know, just bringing in things like that. But, that is phenomenal. That is phenomenal what you've got right there. So, no, I I applaud you for for putting these things together for people. This is what people truly need.
• 1:14:08
We we need that information out there, real vetted information, and that's what we've tried to do with mountain readiness is all of our instructors are not just... You know, we're not shooting to be the biggest. We're not shooting to be the best. We don't want a thousand instructors and a million classes. I want people who not only teach, but they actually live that life.
• 1:14:29
You know, our tactical guys, they are all, ex soft guys. They're... They they live that life for twenty plus years. I just got off of a live with Carl Erickson with Tactical Rifleman. You know, that guy is twenty five years, eighteen years special operations deployed all over the place.
• 1:14:45
That is my go to for tactical training. You know, homesteaders. You know, I've I've had the pleasure... And and here's the great part is is for five years, I've been exposed to all these great teachers, and that was because of community. You know, the people that come to this.
• 1:15:02
I I get to hang out with William and Billy Bond, you know, the permaculture pimps, some of the best in the business. I've learned so much from those guys, and it was because surrounding myself with people that are better than me. And you're right. It isn't fear. Like, I I don't worry about things.
• 1:15:20
You know? Car breaks down? Meh. No no big deal. Let me see what I've got.
• 1:15:25
Pull my tools out. Tree falls through the house. That actually happened. That's fine. I'll go ahead and rebuild that.
• 1:15:30
You know? Trim all the trees back. That was that was on me. I should have done that last last year. You know, it's...
• 1:15:37
You take all that fear out. Surround yourself with all these amazing people who know more than you, and you will you will see that fear dissolve in the platforms that you're doing, man, good on you. Phenomenal.
• 1:15:50
Speaker 1: Well, I can tell you in kinda commenting on coding skills that if if if stuff goes sideways, I'll take you over a 100 people that are, like, you know, full stack developers.
• 1:16:00
Speaker 2: So Oh, I... And I appreciate that. Right now right now, I'm I'm I'm not really the cool guy. Now now something goes sideways. Oh, yeah.
• 1:16:09
  There's no doubt. I'm shooting up a
• 1:16:10
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You wanna be the king of the tribe.
• 1:16:13
Speaker 2: All the jokes that are out there, it's like, you know, ladies start looking for a man that, you know, can be a leader in a... An apocalypse or what. You know? There's Yeah. And it is.
• 1:16:22
It's like like, men just need to get back to being men. And I'm not trying to be sexist about it, but, you know, we are protectors. Yeah. And our health has to be in check to protect our families. Our reps have to be in check to protect our families.
• 1:16:38
Our religion, you know, our our reading the bible, our spirituality. It is our god given responsibility as men to protect the household just as god protected the church. It is our job. And so if there's any part of you that says, yeah. You know, I'm really not worried about it.
• 1:17:00
You are put here on this Earth to protect your family. And so make sure you've got all those boxes checked to do the best possible job you can.
• 1:17:11
Speaker 1: I'm glad that you mentioned faith. It was... There's one point I wanna make with this. Because when people feel the overwhelm of, I don't have the budget for this. It's like, if if budget was a determining factor of who gets to make it through whatever happens, we're all screwed.
• 1:17:29
We're up against the Zuckerbergs, the Bezoses, the people that are building $50,000,000 bunkers that probably have private security forces, you know, for their own bunkers. So... But that's not what it comes down to. I think the... You know, a lot of these these elites think that they can out prepare God.
• 1:17:46
But go, you know, go back to the... You know, was it the tenth and final plague. Right? Go back to, you know, all of a sudden, all the elites of Egypt, they they they wake up and their four... Firstborns are all...
• 1:17:56
Or, you know, sons are all killed. Right? So it's like, you know, is a... There's an equalizing force. I think that's actually what it is, is actually that eventually when things get balanced out, it is it is the meek who inherit the earth, right?
• 1:18:09
The people that are righteous, that have focused and kind of held on to virtue and faith and tradition and family. Those are the people, I believe, that will kind of be carried on, Right? Like, that... That's... You look at Noah, right?
• 1:18:23
The guy that just had the faith and spent a hundred years building a boat, mocked by probably the entire town for being a complete conspiracy theorist. Right? It's like, yeah, until the rain came. Right? And then everyone's like, oh, man, that guy had it.
• 1:18:37
He had it figured out all along. And so Oh, boy. I think that... I think that's that's an important, or which is actually why I actually have... Sorry.
• 1:18:44
I'm so excited to talk about all these things, my my book is coming out. We're working on it now. The, so the book is called Prep Like Noah. And so the website is preplikenoah.com. If you wanna join, you know, sign up for the, the wait list for that.
• 1:18:57
We'll notify it when it comes out. We're aiming for December. But, you know, this is... We call... I call it the non prepper's guide of prepping.
• 1:19:03
So the idea is that, hey, Noah was the original prepper. What can we learn from him? How does that reflect into the the time that we're living right now? But it's got a lot of this kind of really cool, just basic how to. Right?
• 1:19:13
How to make soap from your fire. Right? How to make soap from your... Some extra chicken fat and some some ash in your fireplace. You know, some of these kind of basic...
• 1:19:22
Excuse me, things like that. But, anyway, yeah, I I thought that we could You're just keep
• 1:19:29
Speaker 2: you're you're a genius. You are a marketing genius, Seth. Like, even the picture on the front, I was like, this guy is a g... And I've... And I...
• 1:19:38
You're gonna have to send me all these these links because now I gotta get your signed up for this book too, Seth. No. That is awesome, man. That is that is truly awesome. You know, I'll tell you something else that I I...
• 1:19:50
We've been... We could. We could just go on for hours and hours and hours. But, you know, when you talk about Noah and, you know, that guy for a hundred years, you know, working away on it. And god always provides, but he's gonna make you work for it.
• 1:20:07
And it never fails. People think, you know, it it it, I've done it. You know, something bad happens. You're like, oh, why, god? Why'd you do this to me?
• 1:20:16
You know? And then something good happens, and god just disappears. You know, god is... He he he definitely... He will make sure that you fulfill your purpose, but he may make it work for it.
• 1:20:28
A hundred years, he made him build that boat. Look at... You know, he delivered the children of Israel out of e... Egypt, but, boy, he give them a hard damn. That was a long walk through the desert, you know, forty years of of beaten shoe leather.
• 1:20:41
You know, he made them work for every single bit of that before they got to do the promised land. And so, you know, what I really wanna stress to people is is that I've heard it too many times. Oh, god will take care of me. He will, but god helps those who helps themselves as well. You know, he puts it upon us to help ourselves.
• 1:21:01
Speaker 1: There was a billboard I saw back when I lived in Ohio that's always stuck with me. It was a picture of a big mountain and a shovel. And something... Said something like, how do you expect God to move a mountain if you won't even pick up a shovel? Man.
• 1:21:15
I I just... It it always stuck with me. I always I always was like, what a good quote. What a good
• 1:21:21
Speaker 2: I've never seen that, but I will absolutely use it. I will
• 1:21:24
Speaker 1: say that right now. I'll make a T shirt out of it.
• 1:21:27
Speaker 2: Do it. Bring one to the mountain readiness a bit. No. It's, you know, that's what I I I think, you know, people have to realize. The Lord provides, and he is righteous and and and, merciful, but we have to be able to...
• 1:21:44
We have to be willing to take that first step for ourselves.
• 1:21:47
  Speaker 1: I agree.
• 1:21:48
Speaker 2: And he's there with us the whole time, but we've got to take that step.
• 1:21:51
Speaker 1: Exactly. Well, Robert, in closing, I guess I'll do a run through of the links, right, since, we had a lot of rinks. So first one, mountainreadiness.com. So, again, you go to mountainreadiness.com. You go to the events.
• 1:22:05
You... Right here, you have the fallout event right here, and then you can also click on the sovereign health summit, which takes you here. So these events are coming up into this month. I'm gonna be there. You're gonna be there.
• 1:22:17
Whole crew people are gonna be there. The... You know, Lee Merritt's gonna be there for the Health Summit, you know, Doctor. Henry Ealy is a good friend of both of ours. He'll be there virtually coming in.
• 1:22:25
Lots of great people. So that's Mountain Readiness. And the promo code is Seth Guest, right? So, someone buys the five day pass, it's Seth Guest, and they will get the extra... They'll get a free ticket, right?
• 1:22:38
So... Yeah. So that... We've got that. We've got then, the ARC community, so buildthearc.com is where you sign up for the waitlist for that.
• 1:22:48
The ReadyScore, which is just readyscore.com. If you'll go... You're you're gonna probably max that thing out, I'm sure, if... Robert, will you go on there? But readyscore.com, and then also the, the book is just preplikepreplikenoah.com.
• 1:23:02
It's, you know, it's helpful. My my wife and I both were both marketers. You know, my... I was a designer. So it's...
• 1:23:08
It makes it easy for us to kind of, like, you know, hey, put websites up. And, you know, she's been she's been building this social media platform. She's been doing it for probably eight months. Got, like, up to 700,000 lines of code in this thing. I mean, is a complicated site.
• 1:23:22
And and and, I think I should... I may have showed you a little... Some screenshots of it. It's You did. It's it's really, really cool.
• 1:23:27

• 1:23:36
Speaker 2: Matt, send send me this stuff over. I've gotta get in here, and I'm I'm chomping at the bit. I'm chomping at the bit about this stuff. But, yeah, you guys you guys are literally doing phenomenal work, and what a... We...
• 1:23:48
It is easy. You know, people complain about problems. Oh, there's this is this, and, you know, our leaders are... And, you know, all this bad stuff. Oh, why?
• 1:23:58
Why? But but it's awesome to see someone who's who's offering solutions.
• 1:24:03
Speaker 1: Oh, and you too. I mean, you're you're complementing everything. We're doing... You know, you're doing the real on the ground stuff. I mean, it's a...
• 1:24:10
We're, you we're building some some fun kind of apps, but you're, you know, you're on the ground teaching people, and that is so important.
• 1:24:17
Speaker 2: Man, I I I... I'm honored just to be on here with you. I really am, Seth. Like, the only thing I can say is I wish there was more of you, You know, more people out there trying to help the fellow... Their fellow man and woman because that's what's so lacking.
• 1:24:33
We live in this. Yes. There's all kinds of problems. What an awesome world that all this is at our fingertips. And, you know, shame on you if you don't take advantage of it right now because who knows how long it's gonna be around.
• 1:24:47
Right? But right now, just pick up a phone and to get onto that app and have those capabilities. Like, if you ain't, you're losing out.
• 1:24:58
Speaker 1: Yeah. Exactly. Well, Robert, man, it's been so good speaking with you. I look... I'm looking forward to actually meeting you in person finally, a couple weeks out now.
• 1:25:06
And and I'm I'm driving around. I've got a twenty hour round trip drive to get down there. So, I'm I'm committed. I got my tent set up. I tested out, camped out with my daughter the other night.
• 1:25:16
We got... I got one of the, the the tents you recommended. And...
• 1:25:20
  Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
• 1:25:20
Speaker 1: So, yeah, I'll I'll be down there. And I I hope I can meet some Man in America fans down there and hang out by the campfire and do some fun stuff like that.
• 1:25:29
Speaker 2: Well... And I I can't wait. You're going to have a blast, and there's a certain someone that that you really love his books that is is waiting on you as well. Yeah. So so Franklin even told me.
• 1:25:44
He's like, hey. You make sure to tell Seth I said hi. I was like, you tell him in person. He's coming he's coming here in just a few weeks. Yeah.
• 1:25:50
  I gotta
• 1:25:51
Speaker 1: make Speaking of him, I might as well give him a give a quick shout out. I I have his website open because, so it was funny because I was... I did a... Almost a three hour live show last night. And someone was asking me, they said, Seth, what do you...
• 1:26:03
What keeps you up at night? And I was thinking, I was like, actually, not much keeps me up, and I sleep pretty well. But actually, what I do... What what I've been doing for the past couple of months is every night, I've I've been relistening to, Franklin Horton. So his...
• 1:26:16
This is... He's probably one of my favorite authors, easily. Franklin Horton.
• 1:26:19
  Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
• 1:26:19
Speaker 1: And so he wrote these these... All these different books on survival, you know, kinda post apocalyptic. You know, he... America is kinda like people like you and I, like, happens after the grid fails and rebuilding after that. And so my my nightly routine...
• 1:26:33
It's funny. As as soon as I start brushing my teeth, I throw my headphones on, I put his book on, I go up and I lay in bed, and I just listen to his audiobook as I'm going to sleep. I I love it. It's just I enter into this world with all the characters I know, and so I've... He's got the Mad Mix series.
• 1:26:48
I've listened to his old series twice through now. We've got the, my favorite of those is this borrowed world series. This is my my favorite. And it's it's... I've got...
• 1:26:57
What is it? Like, 15 or... I forget how many books he's got in
• 1:26:59
  Speaker 2: this or 16? Yeah. There's a there's a lot.
• 1:27:02
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:27:02
  Speaker 2: There is
• 1:27:03
  Speaker 1: a lot.
• 1:27:03
Speaker 2: I don't know how he keeps track of all of them. I've I've had Franklin on my show a couple times, and, I have no idea how he keeps track of all the characters and... You know? But Franklin is just one of those salt of the earth guys, man. I can't speak highly enough of them.
• 1:27:18
All these people that come to our events are just just the best that you... That they can possibly be. But Franklin, he's... The guy's done everything. He he was a contractor.
• 1:27:28
You know, he's raised on the farm. He was a desk clerk at a hotel. I mean, the dude has done literally everything. And, just just one of the coolest people you'll meet along with, you know, Chris Weatherman, angry American. Yep.
• 1:27:42
Pete Robert Tucci, Russ Russ Sawyer. We've got a a whole plethora of authors as well as instructors. So, you know, I guess I guess in in in wrap up, like, what's the best part about coming to our event? It's all the instructors, most of them stay on-site. So you are literally sitting there around a campfire with people you're usually reading their book or watching them on TV, and you get to break bread and have those conversations.
• 1:28:09
You know? That's where the real magic happens. Yeah. Classes are awesome. We do all kinds of cool stuff.
• 1:28:14
But at the end of the day, just fellowship with like minded individuals, that's as good as it gets.
• 1:28:20
Speaker 1: Yeah. That community. And the thing is, like, that's that's what's human. Right? That, like, that...
• 1:28:25
Like, relationships are... I mean, to me, like, that is the foundation of everything, is whether it's with your own family, with your spouse, with your children, with your parents, but building relationships. And and they... You know, I've I've I've read a lot of books. I've I've always been fascinated with kind of, like, the perspective of end of life.
• 1:28:44
And, you know, there's different books I've read about people that interview people at the end of their lives, and, okay, what would you have changed? And the number one thing was always about relationships, is I should have had better relationships. And so, that's what I'm trying to just do in my life, is just build real community with people, and through... Whether it's through our homeschool network or through, like, what you're doing. You know, these are the kinds of things that are that are really, really important.
• 1:29:07
And it's it's it's... In the lifelong studies they've done, it's the number one determining factor of how... Of happiness, of actual, you know, fulfillment and happiness is how... What are the quality of your relationships? And so, yeah, look.
• 1:29:19
I wanna be a happy guy, and and that's... I think that's one of the big keys to it.
• 1:29:24
Speaker 2: Man, keep doing what you're doing. Yeah.
• 1:29:26
Speaker 1: You too, man. You too.
• 1:29:28
Speaker 2: This... What you were doing... This is what drives me is when I when I sit down, you know, all the work on the back end. I know you are nonstop. You are nonstop.
• 1:29:37
I am nonstop. And there's those times where you kinda... You falter, and you're like, oh my gosh. Why am I doing this? And then you have these conversations, and you're like, this.
• 1:29:47
This is why I'm doing this. So thank you so much for bringing me on here, Seth. I can't wait to meet you guys and, and hang out around a campfire and break some bread.
• 1:29:58
Speaker 1: Amen, man. Exactly. Well, thank you again. Thank you. And, yeah, I'll seeing you soon.
• 1:30:05
  Speaker 2: Sounds good.
• 1:30:07
Speaker 1: If you could go back in time and buy oil before the world relied on it, would you? Of course you would. Anyone would. So why aren't you buying silver right now? You see, the people who recognized oil early didn't just make money.
• 1:30:20
They got ahead of one of the biggest economic shifts in history. And today, a similar opportunity is unfolding with silver, because silver is a lot more than just a precious metal. It's a critical resource used in solar panels, electric vehicles, defense systems, AI infrastructure, and even these massive data centers that are powering our digital world and the surveillance grid. So while demand keeps growing, it's actually still affordable enough that the average American can start accumulating it right now. That's why investors are turning to silver to protect against inflation and own one of the world's most important strategic resources.
• 1:30:56
Don't be the person who looks back in ten years and says, I saw it coming, but I just didn't act. I'm sorry. So visit goldwithseth.com and learn just how easy it is to own physical silver. Again, that's goldwithseth.com. And here's something a little extra.
• 1:31:15
If you just mention my name when you reach out to Noble Gold, they're gonna send you a one tenth ounce of gold coin just as a thank you when you open a new qualified account. So again, that's goldwithseth.com.
