- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone and welcome to Amother Year here at the Kenway Football Club.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: We've got so many guests here, and this is the fourth time.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: So in this episode, we'll be having our regular guests, and maybe possibility maybe it's the new one.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: See how we go.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: So sit back and relax.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, I haven't said this for a long time.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Go get your biscuits and your cup of tea.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: I love saying that.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: So here we go for another year.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: We have the 2026 Canworth Inclusive Presentation Show.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Let's get on with this.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: For our first guest, welcome, mate.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Thank you, BJ.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Now uh join the show again.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Uh it's absolute a pleasure.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: So for an official decision to retire, congratulations on your career with Kenworth Inclusive Football.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: It's been honor to be with part of your journey since I've joined Six Seasons 2020.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: So thank you for having me on the show for the final time.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: It's been a pleasure for I don't know how many years I've joined the show in a consecutive year after year.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: But it's been great to be a guest every time I've been on.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, and you're welcome to come back in the next year if you're available.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: So straight into the first out of we'll decide to do three questions.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: What was your favourite game to play in this season?
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: Good question.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: So as you mentioned, I've only played probably limited games due to outside noise and being fart like having further commitments.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: But the game that I my favourite, I'll be honest, is probably playing Broadview Tigers here at home when we won by I think it was like a hundred like 99 points or a hundred points, and that was I think Jimmy Taylor's milestone game as well.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: Maybe you could correct me if I'm wrong, BJ, but do you Yeah, no, that is correct.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: And stay tuned for him because it's a matter of regular guess, but yeah.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: That's uh good.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I think that's the most enjoyed game that I play.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Alright, so what is the one thing you are most proud of from your season?
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: So we have spoken about like finishing your football career, but what's been your proud moment?
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Another good hard question, which I love.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: I think the most proud moment of my season would be my anger behaviour on the field.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: I know round one was a bit catastrophic for me, being sent off.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Coming back into the side against like you know, a tough team like Kielburn that where they, you know, target me and try to aggravate me.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think my anger behaviour's been the most important part of me playing for this club, uh, because normally I would be sent off or carded or you know, other things that happen.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: But I think this year I didn't receive one one single card in the games that I played, which is a big achievement for me going forward.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: So in final, what have you enjoyed the most about playing footy for Kenworth?
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: What I've enjoyed the most is with the time that I have played with the games.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: As I said, I played very limited, but the games that I enjoyed, and my most favourite moment, was probably playing Broadview, as I mentioned earlier, and then my other game was probably this year's first elimination final against Titri Gully, but that was my end of my career due to being injured, so yeah, I think that's the most favourite moment playing those two games, and then playing against Titri Gully, eliminating them, credit to T Trigully for making finals for the first year in four or five years since being in the comp.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that's my most enjoyable moment playing that year, that game, should say, before my final season ended due to injury.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: And before we leave, besides playing like with Kenworth and all that, so finals is in the AFL Australian Football League.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Free and for Geelong.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Who's your tip?
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: I want to say Geelong, uh, only because I want to see Fremantle be eliminated in straight sets, like the uh like my team, the Adelaide Crows, did last year.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: So all the uh media hype is on Frio and not the crows.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: For tomorrow night's game, I would like I would like to see crows get the chocolates over the lions.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say that eventually, but that's okay.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so Geelong and the crows.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: The you can say one in the west and one up north.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: So two challenges.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: We'll see what happens in the Nets.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Well, the time I will extend this out, we'll find out anyway.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: So let's see if I can get two out of two, hey?
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Well, they'll be 100% like going for goal.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Anyway, thank you so much for your time.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: It's absolutely been a pleasure.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: All the best from off the field point of view.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much for having me again, as I said.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: And we'll see you very soon.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: That is Ben Horn, our guest, back very shortly here for the Kenworth presentation show.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome back to our 2026 Kenworth presentation show.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: So if you are enjoying us so far, yes, we only have one guest, but please follow along this journey because this next guest has been a regular guest, he's a legend of this football club, it's known as Big Bird.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Why Big Bird?
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: I think that's his personality.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we all should know what is Big Bird, it's from a kids' TV series, but it's nothing to do with that.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I think it's just I think he's loud and passion.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: So name is Aaron, mate, Big Bird.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the show.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Hello, thank you so much for your time, mate.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So yes, you're not playing.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: It's like and yep.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: So thank you for your time and passion and you know, been to almost about not half of the games about in regardless, what has been your favourite moment with the team this season?
- 7:30SPEAKER_06: Never give up.
- 7:33unknown: Okay.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Look, it's been a very difficult, uh like not difficult but shine season, and we know that you your voice bigger, like without you there's oh wow, it makes a massive difference.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: So in my next question is like we're not we're gonna talk about in your thoughts and we you know who what was your thoughts and who you think was gonna win the best and fairest at uh the presentation butler wow okay, yep.
- 8:22SPEAKER_06: So he doesn't even need to.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, he's absolutely amazing.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: So yep, okay, I like that.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: So continue on our or guest interview.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: So moving to I know you're not like I said and I'll say it again, we know you're not playing, you're behind.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: So what would you like for the inclusive Kenworth to do to move forward to next season?
- 8:53SPEAKER_07: Trying to get younger players in local school Yeah, I I think that I think no criticism doing it.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I think that's a really good answer there because I think with improving next season we want more players and they got junior junior lock training.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: So and what has been your you know favourite part of being part of the team?
- 9:30SPEAKER_06: Friendship.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: I think and you before we went on the other, your time, even though you do the all the game being gone pie as well, you know, that that's you know, you're part of the team, big boy, no matter you're on the sideline.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: I remember the 2025 grand final.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: I want to say this again.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: You you basically our cheer score, you're right there, you're loud, your passion, we'll you're right there.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: But oh wow, it's it's being an honor for when you're there it's it's different.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: But when you're not there, I think we're missing that voice.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: The passion.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: The passion, the voice, the the good, you know, it really does help.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: So you know, it doesn't matter if you're watching our game or the seniors you you're there.
- 10:28SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna myself, even with the score line, it's totally different.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_06: So it's like you've got another ten percent effort.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: So look, thank you so much, Big Bird, Aaron, mate.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: It's been an absolute pleasure.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: And that is our next guest.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Oh what a guest he's going to be.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: We'll share that very soon.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: We'll be back right here for the 2026 Kenworth Football Club presentation inclusive.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: We'll be back very soon.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Alright, welcome back to the 2026 Kenworth Presentation Show.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Well, amazing we have had another guest.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: He's asked actually in the club rooms about when I'm gonna be on.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: And I say, yes, you are on.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: And our next regular guest, he's always loving you, he's listening.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Jimmy Taylor.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, welcome, mate.
- 11:26SPEAKER_07: Thanks, mate.
- 11:26SPEAKER_07: Thanks for having me on for another year, for another year, the cookers.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: So, mate, it's some some challenges, and this I think in six seasons, this has been a rebuild of challenges, what we needed.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: So, the first out of the questions we're gonna share.
- 11:43SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: Oh hoy.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: Um, so what part of your game do you think has you have improved most of this season?
- 11:53SPEAKER_08: I've improved.
- 11:54SPEAKER_08: Um, I've been being so I'm a defensive player slash midfield, but I'm mainly a midfielder and I'm just working on my craft and trying to help the boys lead in the back line and like listen to me with the boys as well, just trying to improve my skills with like leadership group in the back line.
- 12:13SPEAKER_08: But yeah, trying to keep working on my footy skills like in the training, but yeah, trying to improve in that defending side.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's so amazing.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: So, oh my god, uh a bit of a d moment there.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, great moments, yeah, craft mate.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: You you improve so much this season, and I can see your your you know when when I came the fence, sometimes I've a bit unsure what I need to do, but you always keep me in line, and Chris has been there to help me through as well, and that's what makes a big difference on my part.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: But our next question is now part of the presentation and your thoughts, who do you think was going to win the best in Ferris?
- 12:57SPEAKER_08: Caleb Rigney all the way, mate.
- 12:59SPEAKER_08: I already I already knew it from day one, like this year.
- 13:02SPEAKER_08: I already knew, like from what I saw like in the midfield.
- 13:05SPEAKER_08: I just knew.
- 13:06SPEAKER_08: All good, all good.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: So yeah, so yeah, no, I I think Caden has been um aggressive, you know, his leadership in the midfield, his domination, his domination in that midfield is just expiring.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: We're so lucky to have him.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: He's paid reserves, he's he can play that level.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Played a big grade.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, big grade is the motherword of reserves.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: So for Kenworth.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: So it's I think he's definitely the favourite for that.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: But moving into our so we all have our favorites and uh moments, but what's inspires you the most while playing for Kenworth this year?
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: We've talked about or you've spoken about your craft, your midfield, and your defence.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: So your half and half.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: What's inspire you?
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: What's been something like have you got more confidence in playing more defence or midfield?
- 14:02SPEAKER_08: I've got more confidence in playing more more midfield than defence.
- 14:06SPEAKER_08: Um because that's sort of why what I wanna do more in the midfield.
- 14:10SPEAKER_08: I wanna do more running and then then like not then defense.
- 14:14SPEAKER_08: I still wanna be in my defense like role, but I still wanna keep like keep moving the body and keep running, but like like you gotta help out.
- 14:21SPEAKER_08: You gotta do what you do for your team, you know.
- 14:23SPEAKER_08: So cause the team comes first, right?
- 14:25SPEAKER_08: So I need to I need to you gotta know your role first before you know like the next roles in your team.
- 14:32SPEAKER_08: So I like um yeah, just wanna do midfield more stuff really, but I gotta keep learning to just do what I need to do, you know, every day, one day at a time.
- 14:42SPEAKER_08: So next year hopefully we'll like keep doing challenges like that for all the boys.
- 14:47SPEAKER_08: And I want the boys to to keep keep doing stuff on preseason and keep trying to keep active, you know, because some of the boys don't like to don't like to be active during pre-season.
- 14:57SPEAKER_08: So I want the boys to like if they're listening, I want them to keep um to keep to keep going outside, go for walks, you know, do the gym if you need to go to gym, do some kicking more, running around ovals, so yeah, just just stuff like that.
- 15:11SPEAKER_08: Because it's more it's not about me, it's more about the boys, the team.
- 15:14SPEAKER_08: It's not like no pressure, like I do what I need to do, but it's more about team, you know.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: And final game uh final game.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Final question, and thank you for your time.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: It's been a pleasure once again, but why's been your favourite game?
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: What's been your more confidence of of the season for Kenworth?
- 15:33SPEAKER_08: It was I think you'd know this BJ.
- 15:35SPEAKER_08: It would be my hundredth game.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Hundredth game, yes, I think.
- 15:39SPEAKER_08: Round five against uh Broadview.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: Amazing, I will never forget that.
- 15:44SPEAKER_08: One goal, and I've I never I never I can't kick goals in defense, right?
- 15:47SPEAKER_08: So keep one goal, right?
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I I I remember kid to go as well.
- 15:53SPEAKER_08: And remember, it was live footage on the SNFL app, so I got I've got live footage of that on my phone, so I do as well.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: I'll now forget that, but unfortunately with the source we're gonna do.
- 16:04SPEAKER_08: That's gonna be memory for me for like the rest of my life now because like there's so many photos of it now on the this social, like on socials, so all memories and stuff.
- 16:14SPEAKER_08: Um, can I just say something, B Joe?
- 16:16SPEAKER_08: Sure.
- 16:16SPEAKER_08: I'd like to say thank you to coaches, James, Chris, Patch, Wayne, to everyone, especially Chris man, like he's been a good coach James.
- 16:25SPEAKER_08: And I just want to thank them and like just behalf of me, like the fet like in the sense of like role, because like for me and my mental health, you know, it's been a roller coaster, but I do this because of my mental health, and I do this to be active, be fit, and to make friends and to just like enjoy my time here and stuff and just keep going.
- 16:45SPEAKER_08: And as long as I go, you know, and I wanna play for another hundred games, you know.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: And that's really good.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: You know, be be that one step, you know, you're gonna be inspired, mate.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: But that's what I was gonna ask you, but you beat me to it, though.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, mate.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: It's like I said, you're welcome anytime and you're you're loyalty to Kenworth, the highest, the lowest, mate.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: You you I tell you right now, mate, you behind the scenes, you know, you've asked me to pick you up to go to I think Sorcebury.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: You know, and then you know, behind it's there's reasons for it completely on the stand.
- 17:22SPEAKER_08: Always the first one at training, every single Tuesday.
- 17:25SPEAKER_08: I've always been that first one at training to help out Chris.
- 17:28SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you know always the number one guy who helped with Chris all.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I I try to get down time, but was other commitments as well, you know, that's a lot, but I think I partly before we end tonight, I think my you know, even I didn't win award tonight, and I I think I can get better, it's not about getting the award, it's about you being your part, and I understand how pressers ask me what I need to do something, and I do it in my way, and then it gets a very, you know, when we played Kilburn in the semi-finals, it was a very messy, you know.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: We just we knew Kilburn were a good team.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: We have that's respectful part, but I think when we start well, we need to stay on mind, but it happens and we can I ask you something.
- 18:15SPEAKER_08: Sure.
- 18:16SPEAKER_08: What's what's your highlight?
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: What's the best game that what's the best game you I really think my favourite there's a few games here, Jimmy, and thank you for asking me because it's there's no rules of this part, but I think the game against Swissbury, I think that that guy wasn't on the boundary.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: I think James saturated like a little bit, it wasn't, it was how I described that goal was basically around my body, and I had just picked it up and I kicked the goal and I celebrated.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: Now, we all know about the TV show Bounce.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: It's uh yes, we always talk about it, and we're gonna have another guest about that very soon.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: He's always getting annoyed about it.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: I know you do this, you do that.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: No, I have not done it.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Do they sell on bounce?
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Well, it's Andrew Gaze, is a it's a boom, uh, Australian formal boomer basketballer.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: I love bounce.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a beauty.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: It's grand finals on Fox Sports, so that's on KOPA.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: I do have, I always love watching bounce every Sunday night.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: It's a passion.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: I know some do not like it.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: That's their choice, but it's a something that I've actually love.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: It's two parts of that show.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: It's turn it up.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: There's an insane behind it up.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Oh mate, it's every time they hit the goal, I finally said it.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: But yeah, no, I think besides that Salisbury game away, I think it was I think improving me to play anywhere.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Not crazy enough at Broadview.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: I got two votes for that, and I thank you for the coaches.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: You know, I think four votes did she and that's the most votes.
- 19:53SPEAKER_08: Better than me, mate.
- 19:54SPEAKER_08: Better than me.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: In six seasons, I never get four votes.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: That is the highest record of my life.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: So passion of overall, I'm actually proud to say that my favourite game for this season is Swordsbury and a part of helping out War of you.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: I played a half a game of Boar of you, and I spoke to you about it, and you said you didn't give me any effort.
- 20:17SPEAKER_08: Now you're not in training, you think of that think of it to training, and then a fella named The Boys, the boys who I have to push uh training, I want them to push in the game as well.
- 20:27SPEAKER_08: And it's it's hard, you know.
- 20:29SPEAKER_08: Absolutely how they are on the gap on that day, you know.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: So one of their teammates called for the ball, and I said, No, I said, No, it's mine.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Now there was no pressure, there was absolutely no pressure.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: So, yeah.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Alright, thank you so much, Jimmy.
- 20:44SPEAKER_08: We'll be back.
- 20:45SPEAKER_08: Thanks for having me on, mate.
- 20:46SPEAKER_08: Uh let's go for 2027.
- 20:49SPEAKER_08: All right.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: That's our guest.
- 20:50SPEAKER_08: Jimbo.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's our guest, Jimmy Taylor.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: We'll be back very shortly.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: Hello, welcome back to the Canonworth presentation show right here at Canada Football Club.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Next guest, we have another one who absolutely loves the It's a BJ show.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Every time I come into the room, he inspires.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: He is a regular once again.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Alex Lynn, Linny.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: He loves, he hates when I say turn it up.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: And guess what?
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, be quiet, BJ.
- 21:22SPEAKER_04: Ha ha ha.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Alex Lynn, welcome to the show, mate.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you for having me, BJ.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Uh no, well, it's it's look, it's a mother pleasure to have a mother regular.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: So there's a pretty tough questions uh if you're right, for this, but what part of your game do you think you have improved this season?
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: Oh well, I've been playing forward and back this year.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: Sometimes I've hated playing back, but I just get through it and the team says I do well down back.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, it's somewhat like you you're not a defender.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: I can I can tell that you You just go through it and you trust your instance you can do that.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: So next is what has you been your favourite moment with the team this year?
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: Probably when there's been a milestone game and everyone gets around whoever uh it is playing their milestone games.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so and probably the prelim win to get into the prelim.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I think that's a pretty good so with so much of you being around the club for oh too long.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: You know, I don't know, we've always lost count of how long you've been here and all that.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna go into that because we've asked those questions in the past.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: So while with inspiring you, what has inspired you the most playing for Kenworth?
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Probably just my teammates getting around me and having good games and some bad games.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, no, I like that.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: But I think what I really think is what has been your favourite moment game, you know, overall from this season.
- 23:06SPEAKER_03: Probably one of my best mates, Jim's hundredth game against Boardview, and just getting around him when he kicked that goal.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I think there's so many milestones, Jimmy.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: Alex Lynn, Linny.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, no, I think that's a absolute my pressure to, you know, yes, you're you know, sharing Jim Taylor's hundredth game is incredible, and when he hit that goal, you're right there to celebrate with him, and I think he was proud and you're proud and you gotta stick together no matter what happens.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: But the last question I'm going to share with you, mate, is what you like to be in what are you looking forward to improving next season?
- 23:48SPEAKER_03: Probably a bit more forward minutes and just help the team get back to the grand final, I guess.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and would you like to say any thank yous to not just you mentioned about teammates, but generally of coaches.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: Do you want to say any words of that?
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: Thank you for the coaches and the support team and obviously my teammates getting around us each week, each and every week.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: So yeah, no, thank you so much.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: You know, it's been a pleasure once again.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: You know, you I've seen, you know, yes, you've had a sore ankle, but guess what you do?
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: You never give up, you just continue.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: I've had a sore ankle, and guess what I do?
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: I continue.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: So, yep, and guess what?
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: That's what you gotta do in life, PJ.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Uh unfortunately, yes.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: And you know, not just playing foot like playing sport, you do other stuff in life and you get sore feet like I do, right?
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: But anyway, mate, besides that, thank you so much once again beyond the beach show here at Kenworth Football Club.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: Being a pleasure, and hopefully, oversee you with a winning award for season 2027.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: But the most important, hard work's come through it.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: So all the best, and we'll see you once again very soon.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: Thanks, mate.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: No worries, it's Alex Lynn, our regular guest.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: We'll be back very shortly.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Hope you enjoy it.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: So if you do, give this a like, subscribe, follow wherever you get your podcast.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: We'll be back very soon here at the Cannonworth Presentation Show.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome back.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: I hope you hope you're enjoying this because I know's guest has been a very much a passion.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: He's been in the leadership group first time, he's used his voice, he's have his his leadership up and down, but I think he's really shown a different way of being in the leadership group, and I think you are being perfect for that role.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: But anyway, Austin mate, it's welcome, mate, and thank you for your time.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: So we'll get yeah, we'll get straight into our interviews.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: So what's been your favourite moment with the team this year?
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: There is one from last year, one from this year, I will do.
- 26:03SPEAKER_04: Last year in round four against Christie's.
- 26:05SPEAKER_04: That was when I had my first goal and my first best best player, thinking that I was pretty much one of the best players on the ground at that point.
- 26:13SPEAKER_04: And for this season, it was the round six game when I came back from tonsil surgery because I have a darkness with sleep at.
- 26:19SPEAKER_04: So I had to get removed or is this could kill me.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: So next one is what was your favorite game to play this season?
- 26:28SPEAKER_04: The Apple mentioned Goodwood game at Goodwood, because this was the first time I'm taking on a body.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: And then round ten against the same team here, because I feel like Goodwood or Apple Student are kind of like my best games.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: So so we talked about, you know, moments, favorite moments and you know, favorite gains.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: So what's helped you in inspired this footy season?
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: Uh it's basically just trying to improve where I can, trying to do like trying to prove hey, I belong here, especially with the crazy standards that people say Kenilworth have.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: It's actually not as bad if you put some hard yards.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: So what's been the challenge this season for Kenworth for this footy season?
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: For this footy season in particular, uh, it was having to be away for two games, two home games, especially that Christie's one.
- 27:19SPEAKER_04: Sounded like it hurt when I found out how badly it went.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so once it and final game, uh final game.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Keep saying final game.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: I've done that early in the show, but once has inspired you the most while playing for Kenworth?
- 27:35SPEAKER_04: Oh, just the culture around it.
- 27:37SPEAKER_04: As I've mentioned to a few people early on, like when people say, Oh, can we have nothing uh but stone bags or dirty passes and stuff?
- 27:45SPEAKER_04: But I came to Kenneworth specifically, not to ring chase.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: If I wanted to do if I I could easily get a ring with you guys, at least one or two, but it was to shut up the people who say you guys are nothing but rough.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I I can think now before we actually go, mate, what would you like to say, not just about your teammates, but to the coaches and teens support around this footy season?
- 28:09SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 28:10SPEAKER_04: Um I'd love to say like with everyone coming in, doing their own part, everything's been really amazing.
- 28:16SPEAKER_04: And with the coaches, like it looks like they're switched on for us, trying to do everything in the scenes, like we don't see it, and you couldn't appreciate it enough.
- 28:25SPEAKER_04: It's too it's almost impossible to, especially for every little thing that goes into this club, the sponsors, plus bringing in potential sponsors.
- 28:34SPEAKER_04: And I have some plans for next year, pretty much in on the field and off.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, you just spoke about the improvement of next season.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: That's basically we'll share and finish up on that.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: So, all right, mate, thank you so much for your time, and we'll see you very soon.
- 28:53SPEAKER_04: Thank you very much, PJ.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: No worries.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: That's our guest.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: Well, coming up, we're more likely we'll finish up with our final guest coming soon.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: Stay stay tuned for that.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: We'll be back.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Kenworth presentation show.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: So strange, we got our a person who has been on the show before.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: He's you know, he's I think got more, you know, had help behind as well for assistant coach, so he's always had two eyes on a football team.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: So let's welcome Chris, mate.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the show.
- 29:30SPEAKER_05: Thanks, BJ.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: No, right.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: So, you know, it's I call this the challenge year.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna just use that word.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Because we can't have a difficult year because that's been negative.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: So I like to be positive.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: I used to be a negative person.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: If something's been negative, I don't I ignore it.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: That's how I'm gonna that's how I'm gonna teach myself.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: But so we won't do all 10 questions because there's so many and might be repeatable from that.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: But what has inspired you the most about coaching this season for the inclusive Kenworth team?
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: To be honest, I think this season what I've been most impressed with was how we've lost in games.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: I think that round one was complicated and our emotions got the best of us, but having coming up against Goodwood side that obviously have beaten us and then Kilburn beating us and the way the finals uh occurred.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: We did it with our heads up.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: We didn't get emotional, we weren't reactive, which is I think what would have generally happened two, three seasons ago, four seasons ago, where a few players would start to set the tone in a negative light.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: And like you said about positivity, I think this year, because again, you can't win every football game, it's unrealistic.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I get it.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: Like we've got a back-to-back premiership in Kilburn over the last two years, but again, Kenilworth had their time and went back to back as well.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: And losing is a part of football, but something that I think I always try and make sure everyone's very clear on if you're gonna lose, it's about how you go about it still, because it's gonna happen and it's not just in football, it's in life.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: You have times and you have your bad, but it's it's about how you are as a person and how you move through that.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: So I think what I've seen this year is us step up to that, us actually have those losses, but be dignified in in how we've gone about those.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: I hope that answers your question.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, it's it's absolutely perfect.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: So, you know, you only coach half of season, which is 50% of four games.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: So I I coached 10.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: 10 games I coached.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: So about 75%.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna do the six seven moment.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: Ha ha ha ha.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: I think you got you know what I mean of that.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: Well I'm not that old.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, same.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: We got our own version of that.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: But what have you enjoyed though about coaching this group?
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: Basic of not just last year or I think this is your second year of head coach.
- 31:51SPEAKER_06: Second year, yeah.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: So over over the two and two full seasons, yeah.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: What's what's the most enjoyable coaching for the inclusive for kernel with honestly?
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: When when we get in the change rooms and I I preach that I have such love for all of you as people, that that's why I'm here.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't be here otherwise.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: I think every single player in that change room had is a completely different individual, and they're a beautiful person as they are.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: And I have such respect for the whole team, that's why I'm here.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: Because you guys are amazing.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: And it's not about winning or losing on the football field, it's about how we can be a family and be a community and lift each other up rather than then drag each other down.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: I think that's where I sit within that coaching role is again, yeah, it's great to win games of footy, but you've got to be realistic, you can't win everything.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: And when you don't, it's about family and the community that you bring around you.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: And I think tonight's a good example of how we we come together as a group, not individual people.
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that I hope that answers you answers that question.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, the thing that I love most about doing this is being there with you guys because you're all amazing.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and yeah, no, I've enjoyed the second time of time, second season.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: I have improved under under you, Chris.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: For footy.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, not not not basketball, no, not netball.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: We won't talk about netball because netball's mate, that's an hour over conversation.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: Absolutely different, different spot.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: But I think I think understanding the game style, where I need to go, then I know, but over and over, and you're on the field, being that runner, being that message, messenger, uh help not me, but the team generally keeping control, and that's how we uh le win or lose.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: We lose football, and it's how we how we motion it together as a group.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: And I think yes, we've had our moments from the losses, but I think well, let's just say, oh well, let's just say 90% with that to control, 10% was basically against Kilburn our first game.
- 33:57SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: And I think the 10% it's not well well, that's everyone.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: But you talk about growth.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: That's round one out of 14 rounds in the finals.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: So again, from the first round through to now, we can see that growth.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: And I think talking about the proudest moments, I think that is I really value what happens off the ball.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's players that can get the ball and do amazing things, but if they ever lose that ball, it's what happens off the ball in how a defender positions themselves that makes the difference.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: And I think that's where we've we're we've really improved Geordi is that off the ball movement so that we support our teammates even if we haven't got the ball.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: And I'm very proud about that gameplay and how that's yeah, so alright, mate.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: I think that's that's it.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: Another interview, mother year.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: Hopefully you'll continue coaching.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: I think you know, it's always you're always keeping you'll you'll have your moment when you're not impressed, but you always say in a modern way instead of the old fashioned way, you know, the old grey.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: I think you may have done it maybe once.
- 34:57SPEAKER_01: Once, yes.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: Once once.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: We won't talk about that.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: That's that was round one.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: Yes, this is keeping that's like whoa.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: And I think since game one came.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: I think that actually it was actually not bad.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: I was just say that, but ever since that game, it worked.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: See, it makes one game.
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it has to work a whole season just to make it work.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: So what's the saying?
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Disappointed, but the mouth came out, but anyway, mate.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, thank you so much, Chris.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: It's been it's absolutely been a pleasure for mother year, mother season.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Move on, season 2027.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, thank you so much again.
- 35:35SPEAKER_00: Speak to you soon.
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: Legend.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: Thanks, V.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: That is Chris Cox, our head coach for the inclusive, and we're coming up for our final guests.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: Let's get into it.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: We'll be back in just a moment.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: Well, alright.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: Now, before we get into our guests, final guests, oh, we're made it.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, I yes, uh you know you can hear a bit of a celebration there, but it is thank you so much, everyone.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: And I'll say it again, but I I I can't think this plays are very close of being like not just well getting to that award.
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: I think you won award.
- 36:11SPEAKER_09: I did, yeah.
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: Okay, it just came to my mind.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: So I don't know you won it before, mate, but I I want I want to share why in just a moment.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: But this guest I'm going to be sharing, he's not just, you know, amazing speech when he won the award.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: He is a common, he's played since 2001.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: Five seasons later, he's finally won this, you know, a club award that you don't get just very often.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: And not only, oh look, I'm gonna get Brandon Butler.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: They're known as Butler, mate.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: You know, you're not a butler like a rich waiter.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: No, mate.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, look, Brendan Butler, welcome to to the show, mate.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: It's it's thank you so much for your time.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: Thank you, BJ.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: It's annoying.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, so I don't know how I'm gonna say this, but I won this award from because how much it spies from myself.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: But mate, the big bird award, mate, you know, what how much, you know, what's it mean to you to receive this award?
- 37:14SPEAKER_05: It it means the world, BJ, to be, you know, for the players to see me, you know, because what I put into the club, but what they put in the club and the what they give to me, uh, it's hard to uh literate in words like it the the indebtedness I feel in this club that they make me feel amazing and and whenever I play they support me so much, and if I can give them an ounce of that back, then I'm winning, you know.
- 37:35SPEAKER_05: So but yeah, we're all we're all one, and you know, I always reflect on that.
- 37:39SPEAKER_05: We're all one united club.
- 37:40SPEAKER_05: And yeah, it's the Team Spirit in this club that gets me soaring.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: So we're getting to now that was really a bonus question for you, mate, because credit to laser win the the club best man award known as Big Bird, if that is the correct description of the award.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: So what improved?
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: What have you improved this forty season?
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: There's so much, mate.
- 38:07SPEAKER_05: M my game, and what part of your game do you think is improved most this season, um, BJ?
- 38:12SPEAKER_05: My game.
- 38:12SPEAKER_05: Um well yeah, uh just the leadership role, getting into the leadership role this year by honour of Chris was absolutely an like an absolute honour, and to really get into that and to be there for all the players through the the the ups and downs.
- 38:26SPEAKER_05: To be selected as a leadership player, it's it's it's it's definitely big shoes to fill, and you have to be out there whether you're feeling or not, that you have to be on that pitch and you have to be there to support and lift up the shoulders of the other players that when they're feeling down, you know.
- 38:39SPEAKER_05: So it it truly is big shoes to feel.
- 38:41SPEAKER_05: But I I I was such an honour to be selected in that leadership group, and yeah, absolute honour.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: No, we're always mate, and you know, there's challenges on the way and contrast relations again this season being I'll be in the leadership, only one season, maybe not the you know the best season of being but I've been there, being the leadership, and know how important I know the pressure it's doing, but your game mate has absolutely inspired not just myself, like I think there's something in the next thing I want.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: I think something that I see in you can improve, but what do you want to improve coming into next season?
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: In in skill wise, that's what in your game.
- 39:23SPEAKER_05: Yep, skill wise, just really short, sharp, and shiny.
- 39:27SPEAKER_05: Just get rid of the ball, don't get held up.
- 39:29SPEAKER_05: Find your target and yeah, get the get the hands, get the kicks, and just just the skill-wise, just really sharp.
- 39:35SPEAKER_05: And and yeah, just be on the on the pitch, just be vigilant of what's going on and um keep your eyes up and uh make sure that you hit your target, you see what's out there, and and the voice is so crucial too.
- 39:44SPEAKER_05: Uh getting out the voice, not only for yourself but your teammates.
- 39:47SPEAKER_05: But the voice is absolutely important.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so so we've we talked about like the big bird award, we've done about the skill base improvements.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: I think we spoke about something else doesn't matter it's in the in the in the show.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: So what's been your favourite game?
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: What's inspires you this season and your favourite game playing this season for Kenworth?
- 40:11SPEAKER_05: My favourite game.
- 40:12SPEAKER_05: Um the m but is it a moment or or even a moment of the game.
- 40:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you can word that way, yeah.
- 40:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:18SPEAKER_05: The moment mate, the the moment that has inspired me the most is our resilience as a club.
- 40:24SPEAKER_05: Like we never back down, like we always believe in ourselves and we always believe that we we w with the you know the grand trophies in sight and that we're gonna get back on our feet and we're gonna soar again as one united club.
- 40:36SPEAKER_05: And but yeah, we we have so much belief in this club and we never give up.
- 40:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: And final question, and once again, mate, uh it's like it's being an honour, you know, something that your leadership, your skills, improvement, you believe and trusts.
