- 0:05Welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin. This is Ariel Santana.
- 0:09Can you believe I'm seven years old already? I'm old enough now to introduce my dad.
- 0:15Ladies and gentlemen, your host, my dad, Angel Santana.
- 0:22Two thousand came and the spark was lit. A testimony raw, it wouldn't quit.
- 0:27It's mother's voice, a guiding thread.
- 0:55Hello everyone and welcome to a special edition of Half-Faith Let It Begin.
- 0:58My name is Angel and today, yeah, we're going to call this episode a Mets fan in Yankee territory.
- 1:05That's right, this is a Half-Faith Let It Begin special edition.
- 1:09I'm heading out on a very important mission.
- 1:11I'm taking my daughter out on her second grade field trip and normally that
- 1:16would sound peaceful, exciting, memorable, but there's one small problem.
- 1:22We are heading to a AAA baseball game, oh boy, for the New York Yankees farm system.
- 1:31Yeah, pray for me. Now listen, how do I put this?
- 1:35I need to make something very clear before we get this thing started.
- 1:41I am not, and I stress, I am not a Yankee fan. Not even a little bit.
- 1:47As you can clearly see from today, I am wearing and I've come prepared my New
- 1:53York Mets Juan Soto jersey and my Boston Red Sox hat because I'm entering Yankee
- 2:00territory and I'm entering it fully committed.
- 2:05But honestly, this is not really about baseball.
- 2:09Let's turn this around. This is about moments that matter, right?
- 2:13Because taking your kids on a field trip, watching them laugh with their friends
- 2:18and seeing their excitements in their eyes, you know, that's the most important part.
- 2:21And one day they'll remember these moments.
- 2:24Now, as a parent, we don't always realize it in real time, but...
- 2:29It's the little moments that become the big memories. So don't get me wrong.
- 2:33If somebody tries to hand me a Yankee cap or Yankee gear, that could cause a situation.
- 2:40So I'm just hoping that if there's a mascot, leave me alone.
- 2:45Let me just enjoy the game because I will be rooting for the Baltimore Orioles
- 2:49AAA farm system team because I'm already standing out as enough as it is in
- 2:54this combination that I'm wearing.
- 2:55You know the jersey and the hat will clearly show
- 2:58them that i'm not a yankee fan so i basically showed
- 3:01up looking like a baseball confusion now how
- 3:05do we turn this around into a half-eighth let it begin message let's get serious
- 3:10moments like this really remind me of how important it is to slow down because
- 3:14life moves fast and kids grow fast and sometimes in the middle of a busy schedule
- 3:21and everyday stress that we go through in life.
- 3:24God gives us these moments to just be in the present, in the now,
- 3:28so that we can laugh and make memories and to be appreciative of the people around us.
- 3:34So as a Mets fan going into Yankee territory, pray for me.
- 3:40Heavenly Father, thank you for the moments like today.
- 3:43Thank you for family, for laughter, for the memories that we together.
- 3:47Keep all the children safe on this trip. Bless each teacher,
- 3:50the parents, and everyone involved.
- 3:52And Lord, for the love of God, please give me the strength as I survive my day around Yankee fans.
- 3:58And we pray this in your precious name. Amen. Well, that's it, everybody. I got to go.
- 4:05Got to get ready. From one very brave Mets fan in very deep Yankee territory, God bless you.
- 4:13God be with you and long live the Mets and anyone who faces the Yankees. Have faith.
- 4:20Let it begin. See you later.
