- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with IR Radio. Hello everybody, Welcome to the Almost same
- 0:08Speaker 1: As podcast. I am here solo. Um this week without Ben.
- 0:13Speaker 1: He'll be back soon and we are still counting down
- 0:17Speaker 1: the days until The Bachelor. At Premiere today, we have
- 0:21Speaker 1: Blake Courtsman, Man of the Hour. He is on a
- 0:25Speaker 1: new Paramount Plus show, It's All Star Shore and it
- 0:30Speaker 1: is where he's met his lovely girlfriend who a lot
- 0:34Speaker 1: of us know from Love is Blind, Gianna Blake. Everyone
- 0:39Speaker 1: wants to know about you and Gianna. Like you did
- 0:42Speaker 1: a hard launch last last week? Right? We did? We did? Yes,
- 0:46Speaker 1: this time last week we hard launched officially, which was nice,
- 0:49Speaker 1: but like you guys kind of joked at the fact
- 0:51Speaker 1: that everybody knew you were dating. Yeah, I mean, you know,
- 0:55Speaker 1: we we kept it as secret as we can, but
- 0:57Speaker 1: also we didn't want to sacrifice time together in our
- 1:00Speaker 1: relationship to try and keep it secrets, so we did
- 1:03Speaker 1: the best we could, um, you know, and then obviously
- 1:06Speaker 1: people started finding out. We can just played along, like
- 1:08Speaker 1: you know, we we were like I got I'd hide
- 1:10Speaker 1: her with my shoe and pictures and like I do
- 1:12Speaker 1: come funny things like that. But it's surprising to this
- 1:14Speaker 1: an international show. It's you know, all over the world. Um,
- 1:17Speaker 1: so like a lot of people didn't know we were together,
- 1:19Speaker 1: you know, only like fans who have already followed us
- 1:22Speaker 1: kind of new. So this is a prizing amount of
- 1:23Speaker 1: people who didn't know. So when I heard about you
- 1:26Speaker 1: guys both be on the show and that's how you met,
- 1:29Speaker 1: you know, because I've known this for months now. Because again,
- 1:33Speaker 1: it wasn't so much of a secret. I assumed that
- 1:36Speaker 1: the short show or whatever show it was that you
- 1:38Speaker 1: guys met on. I think we all assumed that it
- 1:41Speaker 1: was because you guys put on a show that you
- 1:42Speaker 1: were keeping it kind of secret. Um, I thought I
- 1:46Speaker 1: would have to do with love. I thought it had
- 1:48Speaker 1: to be a dating show, and it's not. So the
- 1:52Speaker 1: short like um, All Star Shore is a competition show.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Can you explain to everybody who hasn't been able to
- 1:58Speaker 1: watch the first too? Oh, I guess it's Wednesday. So
- 2:01Speaker 1: three episodes are out now and a new episode will
- 2:03Speaker 1: be continued to be released for the next eight Wednesdays,
- 2:07Speaker 1: including today. Yep, that's correct, yep, yep, yep. Um. Yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 1: so it was not a love show like and It's
- 2:13Speaker 1: funny because both me and g we both said that
- 2:15Speaker 1: we'd never do another love show, you know, and I
- 2:17Speaker 1: told myself that. I was like, you know, you get asked,
- 2:19Speaker 1: you know, you get asked here and there to do
- 2:20Speaker 1: certain shows, and most of them like like you know whatever,
- 2:23Speaker 1: like you know, it's on some random streaming you know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: only YouTube or something like that, and like most of
- 2:27Speaker 1: the time like no no. But when this kind of
- 2:29Speaker 1: got dropped to me or you know, they reached out,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I was kind of like I still was like no,
- 2:33Speaker 1: no, no no, no no. And then I found out it
- 2:34Speaker 1: wasn't a love show, it's competence show. And then I
- 2:36Speaker 1: found out who was behind it, and I found out
- 2:38Speaker 1: the budget and you know, some other stars um here
- 2:41Speaker 1: and there, and I was like, oh, this might something
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm interested in. So um yeah, I went on there
- 2:45Speaker 1: literally not only not expecting to funny, but but I
- 2:48Speaker 1: was in my head, I was like, I don't want
- 2:49Speaker 1: to find anybody, Like I don't want to be the
- 2:51Speaker 1: guy on television, you know who falls in love again.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Like I didn't want that necessarily. So um it was
- 2:56Speaker 1: a nice surprise though, to say the least. Um and
- 2:58Speaker 1: it was this show is very different thing that's never
- 3:01Speaker 1: been on television. Uh at the first ever party competition show,
- 3:04Speaker 1: that's what they're calling it. UM. So they put realities
- 3:07Speaker 1: stars from all over the world. UM. I mean some
- 3:09Speaker 1: of these people are giant, giant eight nine million stars,
- 3:12Speaker 1: giant our million followers, giant stars in their countries. Um,
- 3:16Speaker 1: you throw us in the house and we compete for money.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Will also obviously you know, partying and drama and all
- 3:21Speaker 1: of that fun stuff that comes along with it. So
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's it's a very unique show and something that's never
- 3:25Speaker 1: been done before. So do we see you and Gianna
- 3:27Speaker 1: fall in love on the show or is that kind
- 3:30Speaker 1: of something that was under wraps and you stop developed
- 3:33Speaker 1: more after So you'll you'll see a lot of you know,
- 3:37Speaker 1: dynamic in our relationship. It's not it's not just you know,
- 3:40Speaker 1: smooth sailing the entire time. UM. There are you know
- 3:43Speaker 1: moments where it's like will they won't they kind of thing,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and so you just have to tune in. Um, there
- 3:47Speaker 1: are some big moments that happen on camera, UM for
- 3:50Speaker 1: our relationship. UM. And then obviously obviously know we've we've
- 3:54Speaker 1: been dating for a minute now, so a lot of
- 3:56Speaker 1: it happens also post We've been leave for seven months now,
- 3:58Speaker 1: so um so, yeah, it's a lot happens on camera,
- 4:01Speaker 1: though there's still a lot to be to be shown
- 4:03Speaker 1: on All Star Shore with our relationship and just just
- 4:05Speaker 1: in general with the housemates and everything like that. What
- 4:08Speaker 1: was the relationship like? Was it a love at first
- 4:10Speaker 1: sight thing or get to know each other for a
- 4:12Speaker 1: while thing? There was definitely I mean I can't speak
- 4:15Speaker 1: for GM, but for me, there was definitely some obviously
- 4:19Speaker 1: attraction when I first got down there. As much as
- 4:22Speaker 1: people think that like you know, a paradise, I'm like
- 4:24Speaker 1: this dramatic, like you know, huge villain. I'm not that person,
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know. I'm kind of like just like quiet, like
- 4:31Speaker 1: you know, reserved kind of guy. And so I got
- 4:34Speaker 1: down there and I was like, what in the hell
- 4:36Speaker 1: have I gotten myself into? Like these giant personalities? It
- 4:39Speaker 1: was absolutely crazy. Um So, G was kind of like
- 4:42Speaker 1: a I don't know, like a call mean presence down
- 4:45Speaker 1: there for me, and it was like, oh, somebody normal
- 4:47Speaker 1: like that kind of the first thing I thought was
- 4:49Speaker 1: like a look at somebody normal. Um So we kind
- 4:51Speaker 1: of gravitated towards each other in that sense. And um, obviously,
- 4:54Speaker 1: you know, we have a lot in common. I mean
- 4:56Speaker 1: our first first conversation on episode two was talking about
- 4:59Speaker 1: how you I got dumped while proposing. Um, she got
- 5:02Speaker 1: dumped at the altar. Um. You know, we both fell
- 5:04Speaker 1: in love and try to make it work and loving
- 5:06Speaker 1: on TV. So we had a lot in common in
- 5:08Speaker 1: that sense too, but a lot of cultural differences, which
- 5:10Speaker 1: was pretty cool. You know, she's born in Venezuela, her
- 5:13Speaker 1: first language of Spanish, and so we're very different in
- 5:15Speaker 1: a sense when we have a lot of very similar um,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I don't know histories if you will, So we kind
- 5:20Speaker 1: of we kind of clicked right away. So tell me
- 5:23Speaker 1: about your relationship now, I mean, like you live with
- 5:25Speaker 1: the lease. How is she with the fact that you
- 5:27Speaker 1: live with a girl? Yeah, so she was you know,
- 5:30Speaker 1: obviously she was like kind of like side eye and
- 5:32Speaker 1: mat for for a while when I first I told
- 5:35Speaker 1: her on the show you know about it, and she
- 5:37Speaker 1: was like, that's that's kind of weird and everything. Um,
- 5:39Speaker 1: but her and Elise are super close now they're like
- 5:41Speaker 1: BFFs and you know, they hang out all the time
- 5:43Speaker 1: and then they're great and so it worked end up
- 5:45Speaker 1: working out, thank God. You know, Lisa's great, and she
- 5:46Speaker 1: is great because that could have been a nightmare. Um,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but it's great. And yeah, she you know, she's she
- 5:50Speaker 1: doesn't live here in Denver yet. Um, and we'll see
- 5:53Speaker 1: if that happens or not. You know, I think it will.
- 5:55Speaker 1: But right now she's basically living here. She's here. I
- 5:58Speaker 1: mean I think she's only been home for weeks since
- 6:00Speaker 1: the show, so, I mean she we've basically been together
- 6:03Speaker 1: since the show wrapped. Um, So it's going great. It's fantastic,
- 6:06Speaker 1: you know, I'm really excited. It's it's also really fun.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I've never had this, you know, whether it be Bachelorette
- 6:11Speaker 1: or Bashi in Paradise. I was always you know, either
- 6:14Speaker 1: broken hearted or you know, completely destroyed coming up both
- 6:17Speaker 1: our shows, so I didn't have anybody to watch the
- 6:19Speaker 1: show with. So this has been something cool. You know.
- 6:21Speaker 1: It's kind of we're able to like comfort each other
- 6:23Speaker 1: on our insecurities and all that while watching the show,
- 6:25Speaker 1: because there's still a lot of anxiety and stress while
- 6:28Speaker 1: being on you know, putting yourself out there on TV.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So this is something I never had before, was to
- 6:31Speaker 1: be able to watch the show back with somebody. So
- 6:33Speaker 1: that's been really cool. So you you're not worried a
- 6:35Speaker 1: week to week like they're gonna show us like this,
- 6:37Speaker 1: They're gonna show us like that, or I'm afraid of
- 6:40Speaker 1: what I'm gonna look like as a character, right right? Um,
- 6:44Speaker 1: not really, you know, there's obviously still some anxiety stresses
- 6:46Speaker 1: putting yourself out. Like I know, there's some episodes out
- 6:48Speaker 1: here where I talk about certain things that I'm you know,
- 6:50Speaker 1: it's gonna be hard. I'm gonna get stressed and get
- 6:51Speaker 1: you know, hate. But the thing is is like the
- 6:53Speaker 1: bullsh that happened to like, I can't be nearly as
- 6:56Speaker 1: bad as that. So it's like it's, you know, I
- 6:58Speaker 1: have this this like you know, like you have like
- 7:00Speaker 1: a spectrum, right My spectrum is swayed so far with
- 7:03Speaker 1: what happened in Paradise. They're like, I know, it can't
- 7:06Speaker 1: be that bad. So I'm kind of looking at like,
- 7:08Speaker 1: you know, throw your best at me. It's not gonna
- 7:10Speaker 1: be nearly as bad as Paradise. So that's kind of
- 7:11Speaker 1: how I look at it. Um. And for her too,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you know, she's she's got she's got some things you
- 7:15Speaker 1: know that I think you're gonna show and she's not
- 7:17Speaker 1: gonna enjoy a ton um, but I've got she's got
- 7:20Speaker 1: me and I've got her. So it's kind of cool
- 7:21Speaker 1: to be able to lean on somebody which I've never
- 7:22Speaker 1: had before. That's so nice. So, I mean, based on
- 7:25Speaker 1: Instagram and what you're saying, I feel like you guys
- 7:28Speaker 1: are both so so happy and feeling really secure in
- 7:30Speaker 1: this relationship. Um, what was the last time you felt
- 7:33Speaker 1: this with a girlfriend? I mean maybe you know, I
- 7:38Speaker 1: mean years, long, long, long time, And this is by
- 7:41Speaker 1: far the most confident I've ever been in a relationship
- 7:43Speaker 1: for sure, Um, So you know, and even like you
- 7:46Speaker 1: know these relationships on TV, obviously things do change. And
- 7:50Speaker 1: you know, I've never I've never dated publicly, so it
- 7:52Speaker 1: was like a huge I was more, honestly, I was
- 7:54Speaker 1: more stressed to go public with G than I was
- 7:57Speaker 1: for the show to air, just because I didn't know
- 7:59Speaker 1: what spect she's dated public I haven't, so I didn't
- 8:01Speaker 1: know what to expect. Um, you know the pressures that
- 8:05Speaker 1: come with the publicly ship. I mean, you you know
- 8:07Speaker 1: what it's like. Um, It's something I've never to do it.
- 8:09Speaker 1: So I was honestly whatever so that, Um, but she's
- 8:12Speaker 1: been great, you know, and it's all been great. I
- 8:13Speaker 1: can't believe the support, you know. I thought there'd be
- 8:15Speaker 1: a little bit of like heye or you know whatever,
- 8:18Speaker 1: and we haven't gotten any. So it's it's been. It's
- 8:20Speaker 1: been incredible. And thinking to you know, all the people
- 8:22Speaker 1: that watched the show and everything. For the support, it's
- 8:23Speaker 1: been remarkable and something I didn't expect. Um. So yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 1: it's it's been. It's been nice. And like I said,
- 8:28Speaker 1: it's the most confident I've ever been relationship, which I
- 8:31Speaker 1: did not think i'd find love in the Shore Show.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'll tell you that I love on the Shore Show,
- 8:36Speaker 1: but here I am so well. Okay, So Bachelor in Paradise,
- 8:40Speaker 1: obviously you had the rep for being like a little
- 8:42Speaker 1: bit of a playboy. Um and even though like I
- 8:45Speaker 1: do feel like there was so much packed in there
- 8:49Speaker 1: that we don't want to revisit again, you definitely have,
- 8:51Speaker 1: let's just say, enjoyed being single since being on the Bachelorette.
- 8:56Speaker 1: So how does it feel going from that life where
- 9:00Speaker 1: you're like at events and girls are just spawning all
- 9:02Speaker 1: over you to now being in a serious relationship. Yeah,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I mean it is difference. Um, I would say listen, Yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 1: I mean being single after the bachelotte is a lot.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I mean you could ask tell anybody. And he contested that,
- 9:16Speaker 1: you know what I mean, every every male except maybe
- 9:18Speaker 1: a band, every male, Higgins, every or every male he
- 9:21Speaker 1: does have ever heard in female. They have their fun
- 9:22Speaker 1: and they go out and they enjoy the spotlight and
- 9:25Speaker 1: they enjoy the the attention, and so you know, you
- 9:27Speaker 1: get opportunities that you never thought you'd had, you mean,
- 9:29Speaker 1: people you never thought you would. Um. And so yeah,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I enjoyed that for I mean basically almost three years,
- 9:34Speaker 1: you know what I mean, coming up on four and
- 9:35Speaker 1: so um, it was going up on four. So it
- 9:38Speaker 1: was like I've done the whole thing. I've done all that,
- 9:40Speaker 1: and I was kind of like, okay, you know, I'm ready.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I've been ready to set them for a minute, you know.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And it's not like people think that like, oh, you're
- 9:47Speaker 1: enjoying being single, that means you can enjoy being a relationship.
- 9:49Speaker 1: But that's not the case. You can enjoy both, Like
- 9:51Speaker 1: you enjoy being single and having your freedom and independence
- 9:53Speaker 1: and then enjoy being in a a relationship too. Now there
- 9:56Speaker 1: was a bit of a change, you know what I mean,
- 9:57Speaker 1: I I haven't lived with anybody a girl girlfriend, I
- 10:00Speaker 1: mean at once and like right out of college, so
- 10:02Speaker 1: like I hadn't lived with a girl in a long time.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So that was that was a lot, sharing my closet,
- 10:06Speaker 1: sharing the drawers, all that kind of stuff, you know
- 10:08Speaker 1: what I mean. Um, but all at all, it's been fantastic,
- 10:11Speaker 1: you know when she comes along with me to most
- 10:13Speaker 1: of my events now, my my DJ sets and things
- 10:15Speaker 1: like that. And the cool thing about g And it's
- 10:17Speaker 1: funny because I never watched Love is Blind, so I
- 10:20Speaker 1: don't know what she was like on the show, And
- 10:21Speaker 1: I know, I think a lot of people think she's like,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you know, like oh she says it's loco, like crazy,
- 10:29Speaker 1: Like she's one of the most secure women I've ever dated.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I mean she sees you know, the funding and the
- 10:34Speaker 1: thing the women that show up at my shows and
- 10:36Speaker 1: what they do and everything, and so yeah, I mean
- 10:39Speaker 1: she's just kind of like she trust me, we trust
- 10:40Speaker 1: each other, and it's just kind of like one of
- 10:42Speaker 1: those things where it's like she's completely secure and night.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I definitely think I need a date with the industry
- 10:46Speaker 1: I'm in and and my DJA and st I think
- 10:47Speaker 1: I need a dat a very secure woman and she's
- 10:49Speaker 1: been mad. Yeah, she's been that, so it's really nice
- 10:51Speaker 1: and she and the cool thing is like she she
- 10:53Speaker 1: was crazy and you'll see it, you know as we're
- 10:55Speaker 1: going on the show. Is she is like into music
- 10:58Speaker 1: a lot, just like me, and she like wanted to
- 11:00Speaker 1: be a DJ. Like she literally has a controller at home,
- 11:02Speaker 1: like she wanted DJ. So it was kind of that
- 11:04Speaker 1: clicked with us. And she was like, oh my god,
- 11:05Speaker 1: that's so cool. You like go travel around, you know,
- 11:07Speaker 1: these huge festivals and everything. So she enjoys the travel
- 11:11Speaker 1: and and the festivals just as much as me. So
- 11:13Speaker 1: that's really cool. That's great. That's also totally necessary for
- 11:18Speaker 1: the lifestyle that you leave with that with that job. Yeah, exactly.
- 11:21Speaker 1: How you touched on this earlier. How like the fandom
- 11:24Speaker 1: has been so happy for you. Is it cool that
- 11:27Speaker 1: you get like double dose the fans from Love is
- 11:30Speaker 1: Blind and the fans and the Bachelor. Yeah, you know,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I didn't so obviously, I know that Love is Blind
- 11:37Speaker 1: was wildly popular, especially if season one because it was
- 11:39Speaker 1: during quarantine, it was wildly popular, But I remember I
- 11:42Speaker 1: didn't watch it, so I didn't know g when I
- 11:43Speaker 1: got down to the beach. Uh. You know, I actually
- 11:46Speaker 1: didn't know her at all, and our first conversation they
- 11:48Speaker 1: didn't really show too much of it, but we talked
- 11:50Speaker 1: about I was like, oh, you're on Love is Blind.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I was like, oh, yeah, I've heard of that show.
- 11:55Speaker 1: And I was like that was that was pretty big, right?
- 11:56Speaker 1: She's like yeah, I mean it was. The fandom is
- 11:58Speaker 1: pretty crazy. And I was like really and I just
- 12:00Speaker 1: casual was like like and we all talked about this
- 12:02Speaker 1: now it is. But I was like, like, what is
- 12:04Speaker 1: your Instagram looked like? And she's like two million. I
- 12:06Speaker 1: was like, oh, so, like the fans are crazy like
- 12:08Speaker 1: one season and so when yeah, so when they when anticipating,
- 12:12Speaker 1: you know, going public and everything, Like I said, I
- 12:14Speaker 1: was very nervous, um because I know how loyal I mean,
- 12:17Speaker 1: I know how crazy bashination fans can be. So I
- 12:19Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, what is Love is Blind?
- 12:20Speaker 1: Fan's like, um, but it's been It's been phenomenal and
- 12:23Speaker 1: the support has been great, like I said, and it's
- 12:26Speaker 1: really cool to see she has like like her second
- 12:29Speaker 1: biggest following is su Paul, Brazil. That's her second city,
- 12:33Speaker 1: so like seeing yeah, that's worldwide too, because people are
- 12:36Speaker 1: watching it everywhere. Yeah, yeah, yeah, So she's huge in
- 12:39Speaker 1: Brazil and when we went we went together to Italy
- 12:41Speaker 1: and Barcelona, she was like, we walked down the street
- 12:44Speaker 1: people in Barcelona would go not so it was a
- 12:46Speaker 1: very interesting like thing to see. Now my following has
- 12:49Speaker 1: started to reflect that as well, and some of the
- 12:51Speaker 1: my comments are in Spanish, you know, and I asked,
- 12:53Speaker 1: I have to ask her what it means. And some
- 12:54Speaker 1: of my d M s are in Spanish. So it's
- 12:56Speaker 1: been really cool and it's opened up um kind of
- 12:59Speaker 1: I don't know, I guess, you know, a new lens
- 13:01Speaker 1: for me to see through, and like it's really cool
- 13:03Speaker 1: to see all these things like we're we're donating clothes venezuela,
- 13:05Speaker 1: you know, and things like that. We're like doing things
- 13:07Speaker 1: that I normally wouldn't do, you know. So it's been
- 13:09Speaker 1: a it's been really cool and all the love his
- 13:11Speaker 1: blind fans have been amazing and Netflix fans have been incredible,
- 13:14Speaker 1: So shout out to them too. That's so great. I'd
- 13:16Speaker 1: love to hear that. So we are going to take
- 13:19Speaker 1: a quick break, but when we come back, we're going
- 13:21Speaker 1: to talk to Blake about the upcoming Bachelorette season and
- 13:25Speaker 1: how he feels this show that he just filmed was
- 13:29Speaker 1: different than his time on the Bachelor franchise. You're right
- 13:33Speaker 1: back alright, Blake. So burning question of mine is, now,
- 13:47Speaker 1: you've been on two reality shows. You've been like a
- 13:51Speaker 1: character on two reality shows. This is not like you
- 13:54Speaker 1: just made an appearance. How did you feel production was
- 13:57Speaker 1: different between the two? Yeah, so great question. I do
- 14:01Speaker 1: get asked this quite a bit, and this is I've
- 14:03Speaker 1: talked to about it a little bit here and there.
- 14:06Speaker 1: But one of the coolest things I actually didn't know
- 14:08Speaker 1: this when I first signed up for All Star short
- 14:10Speaker 1: but competition shows there, it's literally against the law to
- 14:15Speaker 1: manipulate contestants. There was a it's like Survivor and Amazing
- 14:21Speaker 1: Race and all that. What do you mean anytime, Yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 1: anytime it's a cash prize. Um. There's actually a case
- 14:28Speaker 1: in the seventies that went all the way to Supreme
- 14:29Speaker 1: Court of producers favoring a contestant and manipulating so that
- 14:34Speaker 1: contestant would win. Um. And so they won. And so
- 14:37Speaker 1: now they literally it's in the contract and we you
- 14:40Speaker 1: know how it isn't maaster. You sit down that first night,
- 14:41Speaker 1: after every reason juice and you got the rules blah
- 14:43Speaker 1: blah aah that there was a contract and it was
- 14:45Speaker 1: like we literally cannot like I only have put it
- 14:47Speaker 1: this way. I only had like three I t M
- 14:49Speaker 1: s where a producer was interviewing me. Otherwise it was
- 14:52Speaker 1: all confessional. Yeah, like you sit in the confessional by
- 14:55Speaker 1: yourself and you just say what's happening. Yeah, I say
- 14:58Speaker 1: what's happening, to say what's in my mind. There's no
- 15:00Speaker 1: prompted questions, there's no them steering you into a certain direction.
- 15:03Speaker 1: So I literally sat down. I was shocked, you know,
- 15:06Speaker 1: for me coming from baschlore, you have an i CM
- 15:08Speaker 1: three times a day. This was shocking to me. So
- 15:11Speaker 1: it was very hard for me at first to get
- 15:12Speaker 1: into that because I didn't I've never done a confessional before.
- 15:15Speaker 1: So there are times I'd come out and maybe like
- 15:17Speaker 1: we need more to go back in, Like you can't
- 15:18Speaker 1: just say it's sunny out, and those guys blue like
- 15:21Speaker 1: we need more from you. So that took me a
- 15:23Speaker 1: little while. Um and I would narrate a lot, like
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'd be like I woke up this morning blah blah,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and they're like, no, we need like sound bites, you
- 15:29Speaker 1: know what I mean. So we're talking to yourself, very yes,
- 15:33Speaker 1: very weird and just looking at a camera, you know,
- 15:35Speaker 1: you just look at a camera, talk to yourself. But
- 15:38Speaker 1: in that sense, they cannot steer situations, conversations, so they're
- 15:43Speaker 1: not you know what, and I hate the word manipulate
- 15:45Speaker 1: because but like they're not able to kind of steer
- 15:48Speaker 1: the outcome of yes, exactly, yeah, they're not able to
- 15:52Speaker 1: steer outcomes that they want to see. Like the Bachelor
- 15:54Speaker 1: Bachelotte will steer a fight, you know, steer you into fight, well,
- 15:57Speaker 1: steer you into you know, into proposing, to steer you
- 16:00Speaker 1: into whatever. So in that sense, it was such a
- 16:03Speaker 1: breath of fresh air, such a breath of fresh air
- 16:05Speaker 1: compared to Bashroom Paradise and Bashette. So, now did you
- 16:09Speaker 1: know this going into it with the contract? You know,
- 16:11Speaker 1: I had no idea what I was going to say.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You having your experience on Bachelor in Paradise and how
- 16:15Speaker 1: honestly traumatic it was for you, and that would have
- 16:18Speaker 1: been something that encouraged to do this show. The fact
- 16:21Speaker 1: that there was absolutely no puppet tears m hm, yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 1: pupp teers. Good. No, I didn't know it to that extent. Now,
- 16:29Speaker 1: I knew this was a competition show. So if one thing,
- 16:32Speaker 1: you know, if I if I lose the money because
- 16:33Speaker 1: of intbiation, you know whatever, but you know, it's not
- 16:35Speaker 1: my heart on the line, you know what I mean,
- 16:37Speaker 1: it's not my life on the line. So roumantic he
- 16:39Speaker 1: puts his heart above money. Yeah. So that so I
- 16:43Speaker 1: was like signed up anyway. But in that day one,
- 16:45Speaker 1: when I read that in the in the like the
- 16:47Speaker 1: second contract we signed everything, I was like, oh, this
- 16:49Speaker 1: is going to be fantastic. And my walls came down instantly.
- 16:52Speaker 1: So I was like, oh, this is so great. So
- 16:54Speaker 1: that was very refreshing and very something new. And I said,
- 16:56Speaker 1: like I said, it would all the way to the
- 16:58Speaker 1: Supreme Court, like it literally is against them, Like you
- 17:00Speaker 1: can get suited if you manipulate a competition show. So
- 17:03Speaker 1: that's so so interesting, and I think that's something that
- 17:06Speaker 1: pretty much people listening to this are not gonna know. Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I've always found like, okay, so I've been part of
- 17:15Speaker 1: reality shows like as a guest, right, like a little
- 17:18Speaker 1: like a friend. I come in as a friend. I
- 17:20Speaker 1: was on a million dollar Matchmaker, and my experience on
- 17:25Speaker 1: those shows where that it's like soft scripted, it is
- 17:31Speaker 1: so so fake. Might be going overboard, but like pretty
- 17:37Speaker 1: freaking fake feeling. And then so when people say, like
- 17:42Speaker 1: on The Bachelor, are you basically just like reading a script?
- 17:47Speaker 1: Is this all planned out? I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 17:50Speaker 1: Like this is like the most authentic reality show when
- 17:54Speaker 1: it comes to reality shows I had, like in comparison
- 17:57Speaker 1: to my other experiences like the Batchelor, there is You're
- 18:01Speaker 1: just living your life and that's interesting. That's why I
- 18:05Speaker 1: want to know, Like for for you, like you felt
- 18:07Speaker 1: like this was just totally even beyond Bachelor level, like
- 18:11Speaker 1: you just weren't really really living life without I guess
- 18:17Speaker 1: you kind of already answered the question. But that's yeah,
- 18:19Speaker 1: but another yeah, another to kind of talk about this, dude.
- 18:22Speaker 1: So the weird crazy part is obviously between Bachelor and
- 18:25Speaker 1: Bacherette and Paradise and like that that world is these
- 18:28Speaker 1: are people you know you had never been on a
- 18:30Speaker 1: reality TV show and tell you on The Bachelor, I
- 18:32Speaker 1: had never been on a reality TV show. I went
- 18:33Speaker 1: on Bachette. So we needed a little bit of steering
- 18:36Speaker 1: and a little bit of coaxing. All Star short, We're
- 18:39Speaker 1: all professional. I was the least professional all like reality talk.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Some of these people, one guy had been on thirty
- 18:44Speaker 1: six different shows as a character. They are professional reality
- 18:49Speaker 1: TV people, so to be honest, don't need a lot
- 18:51Speaker 1: of coaching, don't need a lot of steering. They know
- 18:53Speaker 1: what they're there for. They're there to make good TV
- 18:55Speaker 1: and they're gonna do it. So in that sense, we don't,
- 18:58Speaker 1: you know, they don't need a screw and it's like
- 19:00Speaker 1: they know what to do. So yeah, like with me
- 19:03Speaker 1: and G this is only technically third show, right, and
- 19:06Speaker 1: this was GS technically third show. Everybody else had multi
- 19:10Speaker 1: double digits pretty much st for maybe one. I think, yeah,
- 19:13Speaker 1: so these are like people have been around, like they
- 19:15Speaker 1: know what to do in reality TV. Did you find
- 19:17Speaker 1: yourself honored to be amongst these all star reality stars? Yes,
- 19:24Speaker 1: like very much so. And I remember when I first
- 19:26Speaker 1: got the call, I was like, oh, this sounds fun,
- 19:29Speaker 1: you know, it sounds really cool, but like, why do
- 19:31Speaker 1: they want me? I kind of went through that. I
- 19:33Speaker 1: had a little bit of a um whatever the syndrome,
- 19:35Speaker 1: whatever syndrome that is the imposter syndrome, you know, multiple
- 19:38Speaker 1: times went through impostic system, like I wonder why they
- 19:40Speaker 1: wanted me for this, you know, and it was like,
- 19:42Speaker 1: but you know, I think I figured it out, and
- 19:44Speaker 1: you'll watch as you watch the show, And it wasn't
- 19:46Speaker 1: for me to fall in love. I don't think that. Um,
- 19:48Speaker 1: And as you watch the show, I think you'll figure out,
- 19:49Speaker 1: you'll figure out kind of where what they had in
- 19:51Speaker 1: mind for me and what they why they wanted a
- 19:52Speaker 1: character like me. But yeah, being down there with some
- 19:55Speaker 1: legit like legends in the reality TV world, I mean,
- 19:58Speaker 1: Angelina is one I've been watching on TV for teen years.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So yeah, it was really it was really cool, and
- 20:03Speaker 1: there were times where I was like, man, life is crazy,
- 20:05Speaker 1: Like I'm here with these people who are like, yeah,
- 20:08Speaker 1: stars in their own sins all stars, and I you know,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I just happened, you know. I think the reason I
- 20:13Speaker 1: even got like screen time in Paradise because the stage coach.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Otherwise I don't think I would have had screen time,
- 20:18Speaker 1: So I don't know. So, yeah, it was. It was
- 20:22Speaker 1: a really cool and you know, I'm still thankful the opportunity.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Shout out to Paramount Plus and you know, everybody involved
- 20:28Speaker 1: in that, because it was it was a really cool experience.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You mentioned ANGELI enough from Jersey Shore, and I thought
- 20:35Speaker 1: when I heard the title All Star Shore that it
- 20:39Speaker 1: was a spinoff of Jersey Shore, especially since it's on
- 20:42Speaker 1: Paramount Plus and the Paramount MTV family. No relation, So
- 20:48Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, it's definitely a relation. There are So
- 20:51Speaker 1: the thing is is I didn't know this either. There
- 20:53Speaker 1: are shore shows all over the world. There's Jersey Shore,
- 20:55Speaker 1: there's Acapulco Shore, and there's Jordy Shore, so England, Mexico
- 20:59Speaker 1: and then obviously the US. So I didn't know this.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Um and so half the half of everybody thinks it's
- 21:06Speaker 1: like it's a bunch of short people, and then Blake
- 21:08Speaker 1: and g that's not the case. It's half Shore, half
- 21:10Speaker 1: other shows. Um, so seven we're sure people from different
- 21:14Speaker 1: shows all over the world. And then seven we're from Netflix, Abc, CBS,
- 21:20Speaker 1: you know, all kinds of different networks and shows. So, um,
- 21:23Speaker 1: it definitely is a short show. Like I'm not gonna
- 21:25Speaker 1: here and act like it's not a short show like
- 21:26Speaker 1: at night it's a it's a short show. It's crazy
- 21:29Speaker 1: like G t O. Yeah, but like yes, obviously this
- 21:39Speaker 1: was kind of during COVID, so like we were still
- 21:41Speaker 1: a little if you're going to clubs and things like that.
- 21:44Speaker 1: But we had a club in the house, Like they
- 21:45Speaker 1: let me DJ a couple of times, you know what
- 21:47Speaker 1: I mean, Like really, yeah, we had a club in
- 21:49Speaker 1: the house. We're talking like smoke machines and lights and like, yeah, craziness.
- 21:53Speaker 1: So yes, it's it's a shore house at the end
- 21:55Speaker 1: of the day. It is a short house. And the
- 21:56Speaker 1: cool thing is like I remember growing up watching The Shore,
- 21:58Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like Thursday nine seeing my
- 22:00Speaker 1: college roommates would sit down and watch The Shore. And
- 22:02Speaker 1: now I'm part of that fans the Shore family. So
- 22:04Speaker 1: it's pretty cool moment. It's really cool, very very cool.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Did anybody else fall in love along the way? Uh,
- 22:12Speaker 1: you're gonna have to tune in. I will say we
- 22:14Speaker 1: are not the only relationship. Um, there are some really,
- 22:19Speaker 1: there's some really cool people on me. I want to say.
- 22:22Speaker 1: First say, it's like I think America especially is gonna
- 22:26Speaker 1: fall in love because we don't really watch too much overseas,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you know reality where they do watch a lot of
- 22:31Speaker 1: American reality TV. So I think Americans are gonna fall
- 22:33Speaker 1: in love with some of these characters, with some of
- 22:35Speaker 1: these contestants. They are phenomenal. People are hilarious, Like we
- 22:38Speaker 1: think like people on The Bachelor whatever you know, are funny. No,
- 22:42Speaker 1: no, no no, these are another level of funny and just
- 22:46Speaker 1: like don't give up, like just have a good time
- 22:48Speaker 1: and have fun and don't care what the world thinks.
- 22:50Speaker 1: And they're gonna be themselves and don't care about Twitter
- 22:53Speaker 1: and Instagram and you know, there's gonna be themselves and
- 22:54Speaker 1: people love that. So I think there's gonna be a
- 22:56Speaker 1: lot of that. And I think there's gonna be some
- 22:57Speaker 1: couples that people fall in love with and are rooting
- 22:59Speaker 1: for throughout the series. Um, so tune in. Um there's
- 23:03Speaker 1: a lot, a lot to be shown and a lot
- 23:06Speaker 1: to happen. So so yeah, very cool. I will be
- 23:10Speaker 1: making sure that my Paramount plus app is activated. Okay,
- 23:16Speaker 1: So this episode of Almost Famous is part of our
- 23:20Speaker 1: countdown to The Bachelor at premiere just days away. So
- 23:23Speaker 1: after this break, I want to talk to you all
- 23:26Speaker 1: about these two bachelorettes. Be right back, Blake. Even though
- 23:40Speaker 1: you've had under a complicated relationship with the Bachelor franchise,
- 23:46Speaker 1: you still are quite supportive. You talk about them a
- 23:50Speaker 1: lot on your podcast. How do you feel that this
- 23:53Speaker 1: Bachelorette season is going to unfold, so I'm actually, for
- 23:58Speaker 1: the first time ever in my pen i am wildly unspoiled,
- 24:01Speaker 1: Like I do not know anything about this, this now paradise.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I've heard some things, but Bachelorette I really haven't heard much.
- 24:09Speaker 1: So I'm excited to watch it just because I'm unspoiled,
- 24:11Speaker 1: complete like I have no idea who the final four is.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I don't even know who gets first. Pressure is nothing,
- 24:15Speaker 1: So I'm excited in that sense. And the double bachelotte
- 24:18Speaker 1: thing is obviously intriguing. I think, you know, it's unique,
- 24:22Speaker 1: never been done before. I'm really interested to see how
- 24:25Speaker 1: they're gonna just film it in general, you know what
- 24:28Speaker 1: I mean, Because one of the things people always complain about,
- 24:31Speaker 1: right is like we don't get enough love story. We
- 24:33Speaker 1: don't get enough like too much drama, we won't love Well,
- 24:36Speaker 1: now we have two bachelorettes, how are we ever gonna
- 24:39Speaker 1: see their love stories unfold? So that in that sense,
- 24:43Speaker 1: it's gonna exterest you see how they just edit it
- 24:44Speaker 1: in general? You know what I mean? Are they gonna
- 24:46Speaker 1: edit there's probably so much drama, But then how do
- 24:48Speaker 1: they edit the drama in and two love stories, you
- 24:51Speaker 1: know what I mean. So that's gonna be really interesting
- 24:52Speaker 1: to see how they handle that. But I'm excited for it.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I think this might be you know, obviously, like it's
- 24:58Speaker 1: no secret Bachelor and Baschett have been struggling in Paradi
- 25:00Speaker 1: has been struggling for years. Um, so this might be
- 25:03Speaker 1: the spark it Only I honestly truly think that it
- 25:05Speaker 1: only takes one season because if you watch one season,
- 25:08Speaker 1: then you get invested into the next lead, you get
- 25:10Speaker 1: invested in the next so that and that's the brilliant
- 25:12Speaker 1: brilliance of the show and this genius of it. So
- 25:15Speaker 1: this could be the spark that that the Bachelorette and
- 25:17Speaker 1: Bachelor need to kind of start turn around you know,
- 25:20Speaker 1: ratings and turn around um engagement with the show. So
- 25:24Speaker 1: there's a lot of potential, I think in the next season.
- 25:26Speaker 1: And I I really like both Rachel and Gabby as leads,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and I think they're different enough. I think they're just
- 25:32Speaker 1: different enough for this to actually work, because if they
- 25:34Speaker 1: were too similar, I think it'd be a nightmare. So
- 25:37Speaker 1: I'm excited and I think it's gonna be a great season.
- 25:40Speaker 1: You and Gabby both from Colorado. Both lived in Denver.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Have you ever crossed paths? Yeah, yeah, we know each other.
- 25:49Speaker 1: She was actually a so a really good friend of
- 25:51Speaker 1: mine from college. She was I think roommates. Yeah, she
- 25:53Speaker 1: was roommates at the time when we first hang out.
- 25:56Speaker 1: We hung out for a couple of weeks and everything.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Nothing serious. Um, she's always oh and I said this
- 26:01Speaker 1: multiple time. She is life of the party, branks their
- 26:04Speaker 1: jokes here. She's always been that way since I've known her,
- 26:06Speaker 1: which was gosh, I don't even know seven eight years ago,
- 26:08Speaker 1: so it's been a minute since. You know, maybe she's change.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I have no idea, but um, she uh, she's gonna
- 26:14Speaker 1: make a great bacherett. And I think she's gonna make
- 26:16Speaker 1: great TV. Um and I said, even from day one,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I was like, I think I would not be surprised
- 26:20Speaker 1: if she's a bacherette. So I'm excited to watch her
- 26:22Speaker 1: and represents Ceo Baby, represents Colorado. There's a lot of
- 26:26Speaker 1: us in bastination. It's kind of crazy, actually so much
- 26:28Speaker 1: it's a Bachelor Hub. Yeah it is. It is, and
- 26:32Speaker 1: and like leads and like big characters. It's kind of
- 26:35Speaker 1: crazy to say, do you worry about Gabby perhaps overshadowing Rachel.
- 26:41Speaker 1: She just seems to be the favorite, not just with
- 26:43Speaker 1: the numbers reflected on social media, but just the fact
- 26:45Speaker 1: that she's funny. It seems like everybody was rooting for
- 26:48Speaker 1: her to be the lead. I just feel like it
- 26:50Speaker 1: might be detrimental to Rachel's I don't want to call
- 26:54Speaker 1: it her ego, but like it's got to be kind
- 26:56Speaker 1: of hard to be in the shadow of Gabby. Uh see,
- 27:01Speaker 1: So I see, I actually think the opposite. I'm gonna go, yes,
- 27:06Speaker 1: I do. I think I think Rachel. So everybody loves Listen.
- 27:10Speaker 1: We all watch these shows, you know, and like, of course,
- 27:12Speaker 1: we do enjoy the drama, and we do enjoy all that,
- 27:15Speaker 1: but we I, personally, anyway, really do watch this show
- 27:18Speaker 1: for the love story. I love the finale and the
- 27:20Speaker 1: proposal and the love I just love it. And I
- 27:23Speaker 1: think that's what propels quote unquote stardom, you know, even
- 27:27Speaker 1: if it's like z List like startom for these people.
- 27:29Speaker 1: So I think the love story is gonna be Rachel,
- 27:32Speaker 1: and I think I don't. I don't know if the
- 27:35Speaker 1: drama is the right word, but I think a lot
- 27:36Speaker 1: more of the the other stuff is gonna be Gabby.
- 27:39Speaker 1: And so I think Rachel's actually gonna get more of
- 27:41Speaker 1: a love story. Um, she seems to be a little
- 27:44Speaker 1: bit more you know, hard on the sleeve kind of woman. Um,
- 27:47Speaker 1: where I think Gabby is gonna a little more light hard,
- 27:49Speaker 1: Like I didn't even know Gabby was into Clayton n
- 27:51Speaker 1: til the very end. I felt like she they were
- 27:52Speaker 1: just friends, you know what I mean. So, um, that's
- 27:55Speaker 1: just the way I felt. And so I actually think
- 27:56Speaker 1: Rachel's gonna have a gonna be a bigger star than
- 28:00Speaker 1: people think. And I think I don't think there's any shadow,
- 28:02Speaker 1: um that Rachel's going to find herself in Well I
- 28:05Speaker 1: love that prediction. Yeah. Well, on that note, my final
- 28:08Speaker 1: question to you is more about Bachelor macro one was
- 28:12Speaker 1: the last time an engagement really got you in the heart,
- 28:15Speaker 1: got you a little emotional? So, God, that's a good question.
- 28:20Speaker 1: So I didn't get to watch Michelle season because I
- 28:24Speaker 1: was filming, so I didn't get see any of that. Honestly,
- 28:26Speaker 1: I would say it was probably um, it was probably
- 28:30Speaker 1: Tatian Zach yep. I think Zach was last one that
- 28:34Speaker 1: really got really Yeah, and I watched that because I
- 28:37Speaker 1: watched that season because it was quarantine, right, So I
- 28:39Speaker 1: watched that season like every moment of that season leading up,
- 28:42Speaker 1: and I was so excited and yeah, yeah so and
- 28:46Speaker 1: I personally obviously and exactly, you know, it seems like
- 28:49Speaker 1: such a good guy. So I think that was the
