Latest / Foul Territory / Jayce Tingler: Joining Tony Vitello’s SF staff, Twins BC days
Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: All right, we're back here on Foul territory and we'd
- 0:07Speaker 1: like to welcome in Jace Tangler. Thank you so much
- 0:10Speaker 1: for joining us. Jace joining the San Francisco Giants this
- 0:14Speaker 1: off season. He was the manager for the San Diego
- 0:17Speaker 1: Padres in twenty and twenty one, last couple of years
- 0:20Speaker 1: in Minnesota with Will Delli, one of my favorite people.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Jace, welcome, thanks for having me on today this morning.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Wherever you're at.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Now, I have a question for you because it said
- 0:34Speaker 1: you were being added to Tony by Tello's staff. We're gonna
- 0:36Speaker 1: start there. You guys were college roommates, college teammates. Tell
- 0:41Speaker 1: us about your relationship with Tony.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I've known Tony since I guess it's been like
- 0:45Speaker 2: twenty twenty.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I was a freshman.
- 0:49Speaker 2: He was coming in from junior college, so I think
- 0:52Speaker 2: he was a red shirt sophomore at the time. So
- 0:55Speaker 2: we played together for three years.
- 1:00Speaker 4: The senior year even let you want to say hi
- 1:02Speaker 4: to hiding and crap.
- 1:04Speaker 2: He was coaching the outfield doing the base running my
- 1:10Speaker 2: senior year and I got drafted and went on to
- 1:14Speaker 2: play pro baseball with Eric Kratz for a couple of
- 1:18Speaker 2: years and then after that, Tony got into coaching and
- 1:22Speaker 2: coaching at the college ranks at the University of Missouri,
- 1:26Speaker 2: went down to TCU University of Arkansas, and then landed
- 1:30Speaker 2: a head gig at Tennessee and has been a very
- 1:34Speaker 2: successful college coach. And now he's going to take on
- 1:37Speaker 2: the task of jumping in the major leagues with the
- 1:40Speaker 2: San Francisco Giants, and we're all fired up.
- 1:44Speaker 5: All right. I got one question first? Was he better
- 1:49Speaker 5: than you in college?
- 1:52Speaker 3: A better player?
- 1:53Speaker 5: Yes?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Probably not a better player.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Tony was like a very good defender shortstops, second base,
- 2:01Speaker 2: very good defender. We had an All American shortstop at
- 2:05Speaker 2: the time, Ryan Stiegel. I'm giving him a shout out
- 2:07Speaker 2: right now, and Stiegel would uh, he was playing shortstop
- 2:12Speaker 2: and he would close.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:14Speaker 2: So the eighth or ninth inning, Stegel would come, would
- 2:17Speaker 2: come in when we had a lead, and then Tony
- 2:19Speaker 2: would come in defensively.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Okay, So he was not better than you. And I
- 2:23Speaker 5: watched year act and that carcass run all over the field.
- 2:28Speaker 5: So is that going to be an issue for Tony? Like,
- 2:32Speaker 5: we have to be honest about it before we even
- 2:34Speaker 5: find out. When you know what your exact job title is,
- 2:38Speaker 5: because we don't know what your exact job title is.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Is that going to be an issue for Tony in
- 2:42Speaker 5: the sense that some pro ball guys and now big
- 2:45Speaker 5: leaguers and now All Stars and potential Hall of famers
- 2:48Speaker 5: on the Giants or in free agency are gonna look at.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Him and go, we weren't very good.
- 2:55Speaker 5: You haven't been in pro ball. How are we gonna
- 2:58Speaker 5: how are we gonna navigate that?
- 3:01Speaker 3: I think it's going to be zero issue.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Like Tony is that the personality is unbelievable. He can
- 3:08Speaker 2: relate to two different players, he relates to people, he's
- 3:12Speaker 2: super sharp, he knows the game in and out, and
- 3:15Speaker 2: you know, he's been coaching it's been like twenty you know,
- 3:18Speaker 2: twenty four, twenty three years something like that, and he's
- 3:22Speaker 2: won everywhere he's gone.
- 3:24Speaker 3: He's been the top recruiter in the nation.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And so.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I think just the.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Way that he knows the game, the way he interacts
- 3:32Speaker 2: with players, the way he interacts with people. You know,
- 3:34Speaker 2: he's talking to like Hunter Mints about it, and just
- 3:37Speaker 2: like we both think he's going to be super, super
- 3:39Speaker 2: successful and we're excited to be a part of it.
- 3:42Speaker 5: Wait, wait, so you're saying that managing in the big
- 3:45Speaker 5: leagues is about managing people. Wait, like, wait a minute, way, Jace, Like,
- 3:51Speaker 5: it's not about It's not about anything else other than
- 3:54Speaker 5: trying to get the most out of your players.
- 3:56Speaker 2: There may be a little bit more to it, but
- 3:58Speaker 2: I think you're onto something. The other thing too, you know,
- 4:00Speaker 2: And I think he takes like a great pride in
- 4:03Speaker 2: is uh. You know, he talks about the University of
- 4:06Speaker 2: Tennessee and and how he's hired very very good people
- 4:11Speaker 2: and he delegates those responsibilities and lets those people do
- 4:16Speaker 2: their jobs. And so we're excited to get going.
- 4:20Speaker 4: All right, just have two questions for you. First. The
- 4:22Speaker 4: first one is Justin Verlander just walked by. He wouldn't
- 4:24Speaker 4: join us. I should have asked him, now, are you
- 4:26Speaker 4: guys going to resign? Resigned? Justin Burlander because he literally
- 4:29Speaker 4: just walked by. So when you heard me talking, I
- 4:31Speaker 4: was talking to Giants Pitcher, I guess ex Pitcher. Now
- 4:35Speaker 4: Justin Verlander, So should I give him any information? Because
- 4:37Speaker 4: he's right down the wall here, and uh, let's talk
- 4:40Speaker 4: about resigning. But that's gonna be a hall Forrovior.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And Zach and the front office crew there, and uh,
- 4:48Speaker 2: I would love to be on Burlander's team. I've been
- 4:51Speaker 2: in the other dugout unfortunately too many times, and it's
- 4:54Speaker 2: usually not a fun experience.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Okay, and then my other question is Kratz has been
- 4:59Speaker 4: on here many times saying that you had the least
- 5:01Speaker 4: amount of puff of anybody he's ever played for now.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I don't know if he played with Wan Pierre, but
- 5:06Speaker 4: I played with want Pierre. Want Pierre had a hard
- 5:08Speaker 4: time hitting the ball out of the infield. He said,
- 5:10Speaker 4: you're less than what want Pierre was. Is this true
- 5:13Speaker 4: because you're a big guy, Jack.
- 5:16Speaker 3: No, I would say that's probably accurate.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I think I would hit like one home run a
- 5:22Speaker 2: year in the minor leagues.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I had zero pop. That's through I have.
- 5:29Speaker 5: I have a follow here because of the fact that
- 5:31Speaker 5: I played with Wan and I played with Jace. But
- 5:34Speaker 5: what Wan never had was a hurricane was coming to
- 5:39Speaker 5: Florida when we were playing in Florida State League and
- 5:43Speaker 5: Tingler hit his one homer. It hit, it bounced. It
- 5:47Speaker 5: was at Dunedin Stadium. It bounced, it hit the top
- 5:50Speaker 5: of the fence and went over. We then left Dunedin.
- 5:54Speaker 5: We went and played one game in Lakeland, and we
- 5:57Speaker 5: came back and obviously the hurricane hit the fence right
- 6:01Speaker 5: where he hit. It had folded and was almost laying
- 6:04Speaker 5: on the field. So that was literally the fence that
- 6:07Speaker 5: Jace Tangler broke with his one home run that season.
- 6:10Speaker 3: That's well documented, and the wind and the hurricane had
- 6:13Speaker 3: nothing to do with it. You're one hundred percent spot
- 6:16Speaker 3: on yes.
- 6:17Speaker 5: So you didn't ask. You didn't ask. I mean, he
- 6:19Speaker 5: didn't answer the question, what is your title? What is
- 6:22Speaker 5: your title with the Giants? Are you the bench coach?
- 6:25Speaker 3: So let me say this.
- 6:26Speaker 2: We're we're getting close to getting the staff completed, and
- 6:29Speaker 2: so that's what like Tony's been on the phone doing,
- 6:33Speaker 2: Zach's been on the phone buster and uh, I'm guessing
- 6:37Speaker 2: here in the next couple of days, hopefully we get
- 6:40Speaker 2: uh the entire staff hired. So I think we're getting
- 6:45Speaker 2: really close and then we'll announce those things.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Kratz's phone hasn't ranked just definite crowds. His phone has
- 6:50Speaker 4: not rand. He's been waiting for that phone call. He
- 6:53Speaker 4: doesn't know what he has to do a j He
- 6:56Speaker 4: is not look at it. He's like wait what love.
- 7:00Speaker 2: He loves working from home and doing what he's doing.
- 7:05Speaker 3: He does not want to go and coach. I promise
- 7:07Speaker 3: you that you and I both know that.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Agent he wants to be a bullpen coach because I
- 7:13Speaker 1: heard that he thinks it's the easiest.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Job in it It is, Oh, it is the easiest job.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Yes, But I don't know about the easiest job, Heidi.
- 7:20Speaker 4: But it's the job that nobody ever gets fired from.
- 7:22Speaker 4: You could be a bullpen coach to multiple managers, multiple
- 7:25Speaker 4: front offices, because you just sit down there with your
- 7:27Speaker 4: clipboard and you're like, hey, guys, look look at me.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Everybody I'm telling the oh yeah, hey get ready, Yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 4: hey at the clipboard. It's not my fault.
- 7:38Speaker 1: You've got the look down chat.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Jace.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I want to know, so, Bruce Bouchi was recently brought
- 7:46Speaker 1: in as an advisor, a special advisor. Have you had
- 7:49Speaker 1: a chance to talk to Boach? I mean Hall of
- 7:51Speaker 1: Fame manager, one of my favorite people. What's your relationship
- 7:55Speaker 1: what like with Boach?
- 7:57Speaker 2: You know, so Tony has already connected with him. He's
- 7:59Speaker 2: connect with a couple you know, managers, legends. I know
- 8:03Speaker 2: Dusty Baker, I know Boach and so I've not got
- 8:07Speaker 2: a chance to connect with him quite yet. My Boach
- 8:10Speaker 2: story we went when I was in Minnesota last year.
- 8:14Speaker 2: We played Texas at the end of the year. I
- 8:17Speaker 2: think it was the second to last series, and our
- 8:19Speaker 2: whole goal was Rocko, myself, a couple of staff members
- 8:23Speaker 2: after the game, we wanted to go over and have
- 8:25Speaker 2: a cold bourbon with Boach and we did not get
- 8:29Speaker 2: that done like postgames, so that that was the goal,
- 8:33Speaker 2: but I look forward to doing that this year.
- 8:36Speaker 5: Buch drinks wine. That's why he didn't show up for
- 8:39Speaker 5: the cold bourbon. So just just know your know your
- 8:42Speaker 5: clientele before, like he loves his Vena.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Bobby Wilson was telling me he pours the bourbon after
- 8:49Speaker 2: the game, so I am going to fact.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Check you on that.
- 8:52Speaker 5: Okay, that's fair. He probably does that too. I got
- 8:54Speaker 5: fired much much quicker than I think anybody would have expected,
- 8:58Speaker 5: so that's probably. But so I remember when Phil Nevin
- 9:03Speaker 5: was on staff with Aaron Boone, when Aaron Boone came
- 9:07Speaker 5: out of came out of the booth, came out of
- 9:09Speaker 5: the phone booth to become a manager of the Yankees.
- 9:12Speaker 5: And he's done incredibly well. Phil Nevin said, I really
- 9:17Speaker 5: didn't know how Boone was gonna do coming right out
- 9:19Speaker 5: of the booth, and he has done an amazing job.
- 9:24Speaker 5: What do you think Tony's gonna struggle with the most
- 9:27Speaker 5: having never been in the big leagues Because one of
- 9:29Speaker 5: the things that I brought up is really tiny, but
- 9:32Speaker 5: he's never run a spring training, he's never had to
- 9:35Speaker 5: go in on the road with clubhouse dues like things
- 9:38Speaker 5: that like are tiny, but like every single day you're
- 9:41Speaker 5: doing all this stuff, and being a manager is stressful enough.
- 9:44Speaker 5: So what do you think is one thing that you're
- 9:46Speaker 5: there as a former manager, as a big leaguer now
- 9:50Speaker 5: for years on the big league staff in different capacities,
- 9:54Speaker 5: that you're gonna have to be like, ooh, Tony, someone
- 9:58Speaker 5: else will do your laundry for you don't have to do.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I think the one thing Tony and I talk about,
- 10:04Speaker 2: the thing that's probably like most different from the college
- 10:06Speaker 2: games just the amount of games.
- 10:07Speaker 3: So I think it's going to be managing the bullpen.
- 10:09Speaker 2: You know, he's used to playing you know, four, maybe
- 10:13Speaker 2: at times five games a week, whereas you know, you're
- 10:16Speaker 2: playing one hundred and sixty two, you're playing every day,
- 10:19Speaker 2: and so I just think it's gonna.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Be a little bit of the bullpit bullpen management.
- 10:23Speaker 2: But look, Tony's like bright, he's sharp, He's gonna adapt
- 10:27Speaker 2: and he's gonna adjust quick, and he's going to have
- 10:30Speaker 2: people around him that are going to be helping him
- 10:32Speaker 2: through those things. And so I would just say that
- 10:36Speaker 2: the biggest thing would be just the management of the bullpen.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Well in that vein, do you have any insight on
- 10:46Speaker 1: who the Giants might be looking at as a pitching coach?
- 10:50Speaker 2: So no, I think like I prefer to let Tony
- 10:55Speaker 2: and Buster and Zach do that at the appropriate time.
- 10:58Speaker 2: And I do think like that's gonna be relativetively soon.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I feel very good about it. We've been on the phone,
- 11:03Speaker 2: been doing interviews, a lot of zoom calls, and it's
- 11:07Speaker 2: been a fantastic process and we're really excited for the
- 11:10Speaker 2: guys who we're going to be bringing on.
- 11:13Speaker 5: All Right, so last year, how surprised were you in
- 11:16Speaker 5: Minnesota when the things started, Like when selling started happening
- 11:20Speaker 5: is in a sense of not just you, but more
- 11:23Speaker 5: your staff. When you started hearing like, okay, you know,
- 11:25Speaker 5: we could get rid of two or three guys, and
- 11:28Speaker 5: by the end of the trade deadline, it was it
- 11:30Speaker 5: was carnage. You guys were looking down, you were learning
- 11:33Speaker 5: new names. Guys' names were falling off the back of
- 11:35Speaker 5: their jersey because they were just sewing them on that game. Like,
- 11:39Speaker 5: how did that, how did that process go? And how
- 11:42Speaker 5: surprised were you in the moment.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I think we went into it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: We were in Cleveland and it was an off day,
- 11:50Speaker 2: and I think like we were, you know, pretty much aware.
- 11:53Speaker 2: We thought that the guys that had contract contracts that
- 11:57Speaker 2: were expiring, we kind of expected some of those guys
- 12:00Speaker 2: to be gone, the Harrison Vaders, the Willie Castros, guys
- 12:06Speaker 2: like that. So we were actually in my hotel room.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I had the coaching staff like in the room, and
- 12:13Speaker 2: we probably watched it the same way that you watched it.
- 12:16Speaker 2: We watched it on TV, we were watching it on
- 12:20Speaker 2: x or Twitter and just kind of following along, and
- 12:23Speaker 2: so it was it was shocking.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I mean, there's there's no other way to say it.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I will say, you know, we showed up the next day,
- 12:32Speaker 2: Derek Falvey, Jeremy z Old, they were there, and I
- 12:35Speaker 2: thought our group did just an outstanding job of.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Going to work.
- 12:40Speaker 2: We had opportunity for young players, We had opportunity for players,
- 12:44Speaker 2: and I thought the coaching staff and I thought the
- 12:46Speaker 2: players did a great job of work in the final
- 12:49Speaker 2: like fifty days, it was probably, you.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Know, the most early work we had done.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I felt like we prepared really well, and honestly, it
- 12:58Speaker 2: was like fun watching like young guys bounce around the field,
- 13:01Speaker 2: fight for opportunity, fighting for playing time that past season,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and trying to put themselves in good spots for the
- 13:09Speaker 2: upcoming season.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Well, then Jay said, leads me to my next question.
- 13:13Speaker 4: How surprised do they let Rocco go? I mean, you
- 13:15Speaker 4: wouldn't maybe you would still be in San Francisco, But
- 13:18Speaker 4: he just signed an extension in May, and it wasn't
- 13:20Speaker 4: his fault that the team traded everybody away. And then
- 13:24Speaker 4: they're like, oh no, we're good. Roco tired to move on.
- 13:27Speaker 4: I mean, it's good for him because he just signed
- 13:28Speaker 4: the extension. But how surprised were you they let Roco go?
- 13:31Speaker 2: You know, I was surprised, and I told Rocco this,
- 13:36Speaker 2: and you know, I feel like the people that were
- 13:39Speaker 2: around was I thought, honestly after the trade deadline, like
- 13:43Speaker 2: Rocco may had done his best, like managing work those
- 13:46Speaker 2: final like fifty games.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I don't think like anyone like.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Really understands how much time he was having to put in.
- 13:53Speaker 2: And it was talking to the veteran players, whether that
- 13:56Speaker 2: was Buxton and whether that was Jeffers and and Pablo
- 14:01Speaker 2: Lopez and Joe Ryan. I mean, these were our conversations,
- 14:05Speaker 2: and then communicating with certain departments and the hitting group
- 14:10Speaker 2: and the pitching group and just keeping keeping the train,
- 14:13Speaker 2: like on the tracks.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I thought he changed his philosophy a little.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Bit, like we were, you know, we were kind of
- 14:20Speaker 2: going into it, you know, at the beginning of the
- 14:22Speaker 2: year with the idea, if we can keep Buxton and
- 14:24Speaker 2: Korea and Royce Lewis healthy. So one thing he changed
- 14:28Speaker 2: was he wanted to start green lighting guys on the
- 14:32Speaker 2: bass pass. And we went from a team that didn't
- 14:33Speaker 2: steal bases, we were dead last in most of the
- 14:36Speaker 2: base running metrics, and then sorry, the final fifty games,
- 14:42Speaker 2: we were number one in those base running categories, you
- 14:46Speaker 2: know from BSR, and we stole a bunch of bases
- 14:48Speaker 2: and we were creating a lot of runs. And so honestly,
- 14:52Speaker 2: you know, like over the four years I spent with Rocco,
- 14:55Speaker 2: and he's fantastic the last half of last season after
- 15:00Speaker 2: the trade deadline may have been his best work.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Yet do you expect the Twins to continue to move on?
- 15:09Speaker 3: I mean, I know the.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Last couple of days Byron Buckston's comments about how he
- 15:13Speaker 1: would after the trade deadline, he was like, I don't
- 15:16Speaker 1: want to be traded. I want to stay a Minisota
- 15:17Speaker 1: Twin forever. And know He's like, well, it might be
- 15:19Speaker 1: open to it. Or Joe Ryan, do you expect the
- 15:21Speaker 1: Twins to continue to move players like that or to build?
- 15:25Speaker 3: I really don't know the answer.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I know the ownership ownership situation there is is pretty fluid,
- 15:33Speaker 2: and I know Derek Fallavey and Jeremy's Old are doing
- 15:35Speaker 2: the best they can at at you know, handling the situation.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I think the organization felt good about the players that
- 15:44Speaker 2: they got at the trade deadline, and I would say,
- 15:47Speaker 2: if they can keep it together, you know, when Joe
- 15:51Speaker 2: Ryan and Pablo Lopez are healthy and pitching, well, they're
- 15:57Speaker 2: they're they're very tough in the al Central and then
- 15:59Speaker 2: you add on Todd Bradley and Mick Abel and Zebbie
- 16:04Speaker 2: Matthews had some moments and Bailey over so one thing
- 16:07Speaker 2: that they could do is they could come from a
- 16:10Speaker 2: strength of having some very good starting pitching. And we
- 16:15Speaker 2: all know if you're if you're pitching it well and
- 16:17Speaker 2: playing defense, you're going to be in a lot of games.
- 16:19Speaker 2: But I do know that the ownership situation would be
- 16:22Speaker 2: a little bit fluid.
- 16:24Speaker 5: All Right, you went from the AL Central to now
- 16:27Speaker 5: the National League West. As as part of the Giants staff,
- 16:32Speaker 5: do you look at the Dodgers like everyone else in
- 16:34Speaker 5: the world currently looks at the Dodgers. Well, they're gonna
- 16:37Speaker 5: win one hundred and sixty two games, And how tough
- 16:41Speaker 5: is it to say, Okay, we're gonna go and beat
- 16:43Speaker 5: this team to win the division.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think like we're gonna step in with a lot
- 16:48Speaker 2: of confidence. Obviously we've got a ton of respect for
- 16:51Speaker 2: the Dodgers and what they've done over time, but certainly
- 16:53Speaker 2: in the past two years, and they're the defending champs.
- 16:56Speaker 2: But you know, we're coming into a situation where this
- 16:59Speaker 2: is in a rebuild. Like we got real guys like
- 17:02Speaker 2: around there, and it's you know, it's a Domis and
- 17:04Speaker 2: Chapman endeavors, and you know you're firing out Logan Robbie Ray.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Like we feel very, very good. We know we've got
- 17:12Speaker 2: a ton of work to do, but we're excited for that.
- 17:16Speaker 2: The opportunity that's in front.
- 17:20Speaker 5: All right here it is how many times is Tony
- 17:23Speaker 5: gonna get tossed out of a game? And this is
- 17:25Speaker 5: only for you, This is only for you so that
- 17:27Speaker 5: you can be like, look at my peacock feathers. I'm
- 17:30Speaker 5: going to be the manager.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I see you're sponsored by like bet MGM. So if
- 17:36Speaker 2: you can set like an over under number and then
- 17:40Speaker 2: and then I'll take an over and.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Under so you can set the line you're going six
- 17:45Speaker 3: and a half? That half like scares me, aren't under my.
- 17:53Speaker 5: So he doesn't have any fire, he doesn't care about
- 17:55Speaker 5: his team. I guess that's what it is, because every
- 17:56Speaker 5: time somebody gets thrown out, it's like, oh, he's fighting
- 17:59Speaker 5: for guys, he's all this stuff. So okay, I get it.
- 18:03Speaker 5: You heard it here. Jay Stangos says, Tony Botello doesn't happen.
- 18:06Speaker 4: No fire, I'll tell you what. No, But here's the
- 18:08Speaker 4: dankratsey before we gotta go. I know we gotta go,
- 18:10Speaker 4: but I watched Tony Votello a lot in college, Like
- 18:13Speaker 4: if he does the full fur code and the daddy
- 18:15Speaker 4: hat and all that stuff, and he acts the way
- 18:17Speaker 4: he did in college, they might not only be ejected,
- 18:20Speaker 4: but there might be some punches thrown. So Jace, you
- 18:24Speaker 4: better be ready.
- 18:26Speaker 3: You better be.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Ready, Jason A.
- 18:28Speaker 3: J are you taking the over six and a half.
- 18:30Speaker 4: No, I don't bet. I don't gamble because I don't
- 18:32Speaker 4: want to get suspended for life. Jay, j we live
- 18:34Speaker 4: by those boards.
- 18:36Speaker 1: The very good point, very good point. I think Tony
- 18:40Speaker 1: seems I don't know Tony, but he seems too affable
- 18:42Speaker 1: to get to get tossed too many times.
- 18:44Speaker 3: So I'll take the.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Under I've seen I've seen that get in college. He
- 18:48Speaker 4: tries to fight the UCF coach, the Vanderbilt coach, the
- 18:51Speaker 4: Florida coach. He tries to fight everybody. That's not gonna
- 18:54Speaker 4: work because when he runs into certain guys, they're gonna
- 18:56Speaker 4: want to fight.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Who says who says? It's not gonna work, especially with
- 19:02Speaker 5: especially with Jace coming out of the dugout. The last
- 19:04Speaker 5: time he came out for a fight, blew out a hammy.
- 19:07Speaker 4: That's so true, so true.
- 19:15Speaker 1: All right, Well, we've got to keep you healthy. We
- 19:17Speaker 1: could talk to Jay Singler all day long. I grew
- 19:20Speaker 1: up a Giants fan, so I had so many more questions,
- 19:22Speaker 1: but we do have to move on on the show today,
- 19:24Speaker 1: we've got we're gonna talk Orioles coming up next. Thank
- 19:27Speaker 1: you Jace for joining us.
- 19:28Speaker 4: We appreciate it.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I do, thank you. These two under control. Thank you
