  Speaker 1: the chapters where the church is growing. We saw how
• 4:42
  Speaker 1: God kept the church pure. He judged Antonias and Sapphires

  Speaker 1: for lying to the Holy Spirit. And I pray that
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: we don't lie and we don't resist the Holy Spirit. Father,
• 4:55
  Speaker 1: forgive us if we have we cannot take advantage of
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: God's great say Man, we need to contend for the
• 5:03
  Speaker 1: purity of the church as well. And also we see
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: how opposition our apostles were being beat and scourged and
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: arrested left and right. But it didn't stop them from
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: preaching the word. You could not stop the word from
• 5:20
  Speaker 1: spreading through the whole city. And also they were accused
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: for turning the world upside down. Oh, by the grace
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: of God, let us be accused of the same thing
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: in our generation. Amen. So that brings us to verse
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: seven where they were talking about waiting tables, and the
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: apostle said, well, they cannot leave the word in prayer,
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: just await table. So they picked out seven men, and
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: Stephen is introduced into the story. And so now we're
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: gonna circle back and focus on Stephen for a little bit.
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: A great powerful man of God, hallelujah in the early church.
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: So in verse seven it says, then the word of
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: God spread and the number of the disciples multiplied. Amen,
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: greatly in Jerusalem and a great many other priests were
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: obedient to the faith. Now check this out. Persecution and
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: internal trial did not weaken the early church, but it
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: purified it. Now, when the apostles delegated the practical task
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: the spirit fool or should I say spirit filled servants,
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: the word was freed to spread. They freed up the
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: word of God. They freed up the apostles to preach
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: the word and to make impact. And that's what we
• 7:04
  Speaker 1: need to do. You need to make the burden light
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: for our leaders so the word a God can spread
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: and make an impact. Now, even the priests who are
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: traditionally resistant to Jesus begun accepting the gospel. They began
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: to accept the gospel to Jesus Christ. Now, family, noticed this.

  Speaker 1: When the church gets its house in order, the word
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: flows freely, the leaders stop trying to do everything, and
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: anointed anointed servants rise up. Then multiplication will happen. Even
• 7:48
  Speaker 1: the religious elite people you least expected, started to get saved.

  Speaker 1: So how much of this are we respont for? Right?
• 8:03
  Speaker 1: How much of this are we responsible for? Are we
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: allowing the church to grow and to multiply by being
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: in our position, being a faithful servant in our local
• 8:17
  Speaker 1: church where God has sent us, So the leaders don't
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: have such a heavy burden. Amen, and keep in mind.
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: We will be accountable for this, how we serve the Lord,
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: and how we served each other. And we're accountable for
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: what we know. Now. We know that we need. We
• 8:40
  Speaker 1: play a vital part in our local church. And you
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: may just be there to clean the bathroom or dump
• 8:47
  Speaker 1: garbage or take cigarette butts. I remember, in the first
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: church I belonged to, I took pleasure in picking up
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: cigarette buds out of the parking lot. You know, it
• 8:58
  Speaker 1: seemed like a little task, but I knew I was
• 9:00
  Speaker 1: doing it for my father, so I had a joyful heart,
• 9:04
  Speaker 1: Like I was just excited just to pick up trash
• 9:07
  Speaker 1: and cigarette butts from the parking lot so that we
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: could have service. Amen, your position is making a huge
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: impact more than you think. Amen, looks like you lost
• 9:23
  Speaker 1: another one. Alright Verse eight and Stephan full of faith
• 9:29
  Speaker 1: and power, the great wonders and signs amongst the people. Amen.

  Speaker 1: Now just breakdown a few things about Stephan. He was
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: not an apostle, right, He did not have a title,
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: He was not in leadership. He served tables, He was
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: a servant. Yet he also moved in power. God pours
• 10:01
  Speaker 1: out power on and he pulls out Let me speak, right,
• 10:11
  Speaker 1: He pours out his spirit on ordinary believers when they
• 10:16
  Speaker 1: are fully surrendered. Right. God is looking for a heart
• 10:22
  Speaker 1: that is fully surrendered unto him, and I pray by
• 10:26
  Speaker 1: the end of this podcast that that will be us. Right,
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: But he pours out his power on hearts that are
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: fully surrendered. Now, let this encourage someone today. You don't
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: need a platform, you don't need a title. You just
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: need to be filled. Stephan wasn't famous, but he was faithful,
• 10:56
  Speaker 1: and faithfulness attracts God's power. Let me say that again,
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: painfulness attracts God's power. Amen. How many of us could
• 11:08
  Speaker 1: handle that type of power today? A lot of us
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: sad to say, we'll use that for our own selfish gain.
• 11:17
  Speaker 1: We will want to build a platform on social media,
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: build a following. We will want to get paid, you know,
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: for our services. We won't even show up if you
• 11:28
  Speaker 1: don't give us a thirty thousand dollars check. Right. That's
• 11:32
  Speaker 1: what you see nowadays when people use this type of power.
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: It's a great temptation in our generation because it's so
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: easy to brand ourselves. Allow the Holy Spirit to brand you.
• 11:50
  Speaker 1: God will provide, Amen. We don't have to act like
• 11:54
  Speaker 1: with some superstar or some celebrity, And I believe that's
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: the issue too, so easy to be a celebrity today,
• 12:03
  Speaker 1: that people get it and they just destroy themselves when
• 12:08
  Speaker 1: all God wants is our faithfulness. Amen, all right? Verse nine.
• 12:17
  Speaker 1: Then there a role some from what is called the
• 12:21
  Speaker 1: synagog of the freedmen, Sirhenius, Alexandrians and those from Chica
• 12:31
  Speaker 1: and Asia, disputing with Stephan. Now he comes opposition again.

  Speaker 2: Right.

  Speaker 1: Whenever the Spirit moves, opposition rises. Religious people, those rooted
• 12:46
  Speaker 1: in tradition instead of truth, often resist the gospel. Isn't
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: it crazy how people who fight the move of God
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: the most are often church folk. You know what I'm saying.

  Speaker 1: These men were free but spiritually bound. And I've experienced
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: this myself with club his Hot Las Vegas. It was
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: such a new work and so out of the box
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: in that tradition. People didn't know which direction I was
• 13:21
  Speaker 1: coming from. Amen. They didn't really, they really didn't know
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: how to handle it. But God moved in a powerful way,
• 13:31
  Speaker 1: and we got to stay faithful to what the Spirit
• 13:34
  Speaker 1: has called us to do. Verse ten. N they were
• 13:38
  Speaker 1: not able to resist the wisdom in the spirit by
• 13:42
  Speaker 1: which he spoke. Now I touched on this when I
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: was teaching at my home church, Fresh Wind Community Church,
• 13:52
  Speaker 1: a very powerful church anointed in the Holy Spirit. If
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: you're in Vegas, come by and visit us. Come and

  Speaker 1: And you know, I thought it was interesting that even

  Speaker 1: though we're not supposed to argue or dispute scripture, there's

  Speaker 1: still a wisdom from the Holy Spirit that is available

  Speaker 1: that no one can resist. Amen. Now this wasn't human wisdom.

  Speaker 1: This was spirit empowered revelation that God gave them. The
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit gives strength in the moment of confrontation. Now,
• 14:45
  Speaker 1: when you walk in the spirit, you don't have to argue,
• 14:50
  Speaker 1: you don't have to debate. The anointing speaks for you.
• 14:56
  Speaker 1: Let the Anointing of God to speak and you, and
• 15:00
  Speaker 1: let it speak through you. Amen. Then they secretly induced
• 15:08
  Speaker 1: men to say, we have heard him speak blasphemy, blasphemous
• 15:13
  Speaker 1: words against Moses and against God. And they stirred up
• 15:19
  Speaker 1: the people, the elders and the scribes, and they came
• 15:24
  Speaker 1: upon him, seized him and brought him to the council.
• 15:30
  Speaker 1: Now this is heavy, right, this is deep. They put
• 15:33
  Speaker 1: in hands on. Now this actually brings the jaws. Parallels
• 15:43
  Speaker 1: to the trial of Jesus Christ. Right when they tried Jesus,
• 15:48
  Speaker 1: there was false witnesses. There was a stirred up crowds,
• 15:54
  Speaker 1: and they both had made their crowds and they manipulated
• 15:59
  Speaker 1: a motions in the situation. They had people to manipulate
• 16:04
  Speaker 1: the emotions of people. Look at the strategy of the enemy. First,
• 16:09
  Speaker 1: he lies, he manipulates, and he stirs up drama. That's
• 16:14
  Speaker 1: his pattern. And when I was teaching that fresh Wind,
• 16:19
  Speaker 1: I spoke about how the same thing happened when the
• 16:24
  Speaker 1: story with Jezebel and Ahab, the same thing, the same process. Right,
• 16:30
  Speaker 1: speaking against the law. They want to defend the law,
• 16:33
  Speaker 1: but they're breaking the law. The same spirit that attacked
• 16:37
  Speaker 1: Jesus is now attacking Stephan. But just because the enemy
• 16:43
  Speaker 1: plots doesn't mean God isn't still in control. Amen, Hallo Lujah.

  Speaker 1: The enemy can plot all he wants to, but God
• 16:54
  Speaker 1: is going to have the last word, the last victory. Now,

  Speaker 1: let's see it. Verse thirteen and fourteen. They also set

  Speaker 1: up false witdedness, whose false witnesses, who said, this man
• 17:08
  Speaker 1: does not cease to speak blashemist's words against this holy
• 17:12
  Speaker 1: place and the law. For we have heard him say
• 17:19
  Speaker 1: that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and
• 17:23
  Speaker 1: change the customs which Moses delivered unto us. Right now,
• 17:35
  Speaker 1: legalists always accept, I mean not accept. Legalists always accuse
• 17:46
  Speaker 1: spirit filled believers, and they accuse us of blasphemy, extremism,

  Speaker 1: and even in rebellion, their issue wasn't with the messenger,

  Speaker 1: it's with the message itself. Now, Stephan wasn't attacking Moses.

  Speaker 1: He was pointing them to Jesus. But when people idealize religion,
• 18:18
  Speaker 1: they see truth as a threat. Let me see that again.

  Speaker 1: When people idolize religion, they see truth as a threat.

  Speaker 1: And I want to say this from personal experience. I've
• 18:33
  Speaker 1: worked for years and I love them like brothers. You know,
• 18:38
  Speaker 1: you get to know your co workers after a few
• 18:42
  Speaker 1: years of working with them, and some of them there's
• 18:47
  Speaker 1: a Mormon, there's a job was a witness. You know,
• 18:51
  Speaker 1: there's just different religious people. And I share truth straight
• 18:57
  Speaker 1: out of Word of God. I share truth straight out
• 18:59
  Speaker 1: of the Gospel, and they get offended. They think I'm
• 19:05
  Speaker 1: attacking them. They think I'm tearing down their religion, their faith,
• 19:09
  Speaker 1: of their belief that they think that, you know, that's
• 19:16
  Speaker 1: all out, you know, assault against their religion. But no,
• 19:22
  Speaker 1: it's true, straight out of the Bible, you know. And
• 19:26
  Speaker 1: since years I backed off of that. I still pray
• 19:29
  Speaker 1: for them, but it's sad to see people go to
• 19:33
  Speaker 1: hell because they're stuck in tradition, and I try to
• 19:39
  Speaker 1: reason with them. I'm like, look, let's just study the word.
• 19:42
  Speaker 1: Let's just confront truth. Stop trying to twist it, stop
• 19:47
  Speaker 1: trying to make it fit your narrative. Let's just read
• 19:50
  Speaker 1: what's there with integrity and honestly, you know, wrestle with
• 19:55
  Speaker 1: what the scriptures say. I didn't write them, you know,
• 19:58
  Speaker 1: they were written over two thousand years ago. Go, But

  Speaker 1: I'm like, let's take it logically, right, But sometimes even
• 20:06
  Speaker 1: that method doesn't even work. Amen, all right? Verse fifteen,

  Speaker 1: And all looking steadfastly at him saw his face as
• 20:21
  Speaker 1: a face of an angel. Let me read that again.

  Speaker 1: And all who sat in the council, looking stead fastly
• 20:32
  Speaker 1: at him, saw his face as the face of an angel. Amen,

  Speaker 1: look at stphan Man, faithful to the Lord. Now God

  Speaker 1: puts his glory on his servants. Even in persecution, Stephan
• 20:51
  Speaker 1: radiated the very presence of God. His peace was supernatural. Amen.

  Speaker 1: They're lying on him, attacking him, prepearing to kill him.

  Speaker 1: Yet he shines. Family. Your greatest witness is not your defense,

  Speaker 1: it's your demeanor. When people mistreat you, and you still

  Speaker 1: radiate Christ. That is true power, that is so powerful. Amen.

  Speaker 1: people mistreat you, but you still let that sink in.

  Speaker 1: When people mistreat you, hallelujah, But you still radiate the

  Speaker 1: presence of Christ that is so powerful. Father God. We

  Speaker 1: need to power even right now God, in the midst

  Speaker 1: of this persecution of God, in this trial that we

  Speaker 1: are walking through. God, let us not, Oh God, defend

  Speaker 1: ourselves God, but let us be led by your spirit.

  Speaker 1: And let us, even on our face, Oh God, steal

  Speaker 1: radiate your joy, your peace, your presence, and your love.

  Speaker 1: Oh God, let us not be disturbed, Oh God, Your

  Speaker 1: word says, let not our hearts be troubled. God, and Lord,

  Speaker 1: we lift up our hearts before you, God, Oh Lord,

  Speaker 1: we cast off worry and concern and frustration and bitterness

  Speaker 1: and fear, O God, we lay it, Oh God, at

  Speaker 1: your altar, O God, Holy Spirit, we surrender fully to you,

  Speaker 1: Oh God, wash us by your blood, Oh God, forgive us,

  Speaker 1: O God, we repent from the sin of worry. Oh God.

  Speaker 1: We ask the Lord that you will fight our battle

  Speaker 1: in this hour, for victory belongs to Jesus. We'll be
