The Executive Who Secretly Took Millions From His Own Vendors
Eric Marsiglia held a senior position at Williams Sonoma with authority over warehouse projects, facilities, real estate, and major vendor relationships.
Federal prosecutors said he secretly accepted more than twelve million dollars in kickbacks for steering company business toward selected suppliers. He also helped divert more than four million dollars in real estate broker commissions while hiding the payments through a company he controlled.
The case shows how corporate fraud can grow when the person trusted to choose vendors also has a hidden financial reason for choosing them.
