- 0:03Speaker 1: This is the Sean O'Connell Show, your home of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: best inside of your youth. Let's get back to OC
- 0:10Speaker 1: from the Murdoch Chevrolet studio of ESPN 792.1 FM.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Switching gears a little bit, talk a little Utah volleyball.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Utah Volleyball, 10-3 overall, coming off a nice hot streak
- 0:28Speaker 3: right now, five in a row. They've got a tough-ranked
- 0:31Speaker 3: matchup against Kansas in Lawrence on Thursday. We'll get to
- 0:35Speaker 3: all of it with the head coach. Kind enough to
- 0:37Speaker 3: join us again, Alyssa DiRico. I think the second time
- 0:40Speaker 3: now on the Sean O'Connell Show.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Coach, welcome back. How are you?
- 0:45Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 0:45Speaker 1: How are you?
- 0:45Speaker 4: Thanks for having me back.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah, appreciate you giving us some time.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Let's talk about the recent success and what has contributed
- 0:53Speaker 3: to it. a air force, Denver, Northern Colorado, and then
- 0:57Speaker 3: a ranked Colorado team, a ranked Baylor team, all falling
- 1:02Speaker 3: to your Utes before you get ready to take on
- 1:05Speaker 3: once again, a ranked conference opponent in Kansas.
- 1:08Speaker 2: What has been the key in these last five?
- 1:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I think the team has just really figured out
- 1:15Speaker 5: how to be resilient through challenges and great opponents. I mean,
- 1:20Speaker 5: the Big 12 has no shortage of great teams and
- 1:23Speaker 5: great challenges for us. And so I think they're learning
- 1:26Speaker 5: how to not have to be perfect and still win.
- 1:30Speaker 5: I think at the beginning of the year, we had
- 1:32Speaker 5: this feeling of it's got to be perfect and feel
- 1:35Speaker 5: really good in order for us to come out ahead
- 1:37Speaker 5: against them.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Some good teams and.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Just not the reality of high level volleyball. And so
- 1:42Speaker 5: we talked about, can we win through the ugly a
- 1:45Speaker 5: little bit more and, and feel, still feel good about
- 1:48Speaker 5: it and still feel like we have those moments to
- 1:50Speaker 5: take advantage of in matches.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:52Speaker 3: How do you, how do you find the balance there
- 1:54Speaker 3: and coaching that sort of perfectionism out while still wanting
- 1:58Speaker 3: to chase perfection? Because of course, you know, you're never
- 2:02Speaker 3: going to achieve it, but you want to get as
- 2:03Speaker 3: close as you can and, You don't want to be
- 2:05Speaker 3: hyper focused on it to where you feel bad if
- 2:08Speaker 3: you're not there. I mean, you got to strike a balance.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I imagine as a coach, how did you find that?
- 2:12Speaker 3: How did you and your staff find that?
- 2:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I think for us, it's just about, you know,
- 2:16Speaker 5: what are the process things, but we want them to
- 2:19Speaker 5: be focused on trying to perfect. I think when you
- 2:23Speaker 5: get into, you know, sticky situations with being, you know,
- 2:26Speaker 5: perfect focused in terms of the results, that's where you get,
- 2:30Speaker 5: you know, kind of into the uncontrollable things. And so
- 2:33Speaker 5: for us, it's, really trying to make sure that our
- 2:36Speaker 5: players know what are those process focuses for them that
- 2:39Speaker 5: help them get the results that they want and how
- 2:42Speaker 5: can we really try and strive to perfect those processes
- 2:45Speaker 5: in practice. And if they make mistakes, going after it
- 2:49Speaker 5: and have great process, that's a part of growth and
- 2:52Speaker 5: a part of the learning curve. But We just got
- 2:54Speaker 5: to keep trying to dial in our process and get
- 2:57Speaker 5: it as best as we possibly can, but let them
- 2:59Speaker 5: have some, some freedom to fail and still feel like
- 3:02Speaker 5: we can succeed after the results are exactly what they want.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I think the last time we talked, it was still,
- 3:09Speaker 3: you know, okay, let's figure out what this is going
- 3:12Speaker 3: to be. And now that you've got a sample size,
- 3:15Speaker 3: are there surprises? Is it looking the way success and failure?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Is it looking the way that you thought that it would,
- 3:20Speaker 3: is your team strong in the areas that, You thought
- 3:23Speaker 3: they would be strong? Are your hitters hitting the way
- 3:26Speaker 3: that you thought they would? Has someone emerged? Is this
- 3:30Speaker 3: shaping up the way that you thought that it might?
- 3:33Speaker 5: Um, yeah, yeah, I, I think it is shaping up
- 3:36Speaker 5: the way that, um, you know, our staff thought that
- 3:38Speaker 5: it would, um, I think, um, the, the goal for
- 3:41Speaker 5: us was to be really, really great, you know, serve
- 3:44Speaker 5: pass wise.
- 3:44Speaker 4: And I think, um, you know, we have been consistently one.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Of the better teams in the serve pass side of
- 3:50Speaker 5: the ball of, we're not giving up a lot of
- 3:52Speaker 5: direct aces. Um, we're, we're passing really well, and we're
- 3:55Speaker 5: also putting a lot of pressure on teams with our serve, um,
- 3:58Speaker 5: And so I think we've really owned that and been
- 4:00Speaker 5: consistent in that throughout the season. And then I think offensively,
- 4:04Speaker 5: the system that we're running, we thought had the ability
- 4:07Speaker 5: to be a really high producing system. and with the
- 4:12Speaker 5: balance that our offense has. And even through our two
- 4:16Speaker 5: matches to start Big 12 against top 25 ranked teams,
- 4:21Speaker 5: we earned close to 19 points a set and held
- 4:23Speaker 5: our opponents to only earning 14 points a set. So
- 4:27Speaker 5: I think a lot of the stuff that we thought
- 4:28Speaker 5: was going to kind of play out with the system
- 4:31Speaker 5: we're running and the roster that we have, we're starting
- 4:34Speaker 5: to see come full circle even against really good opponents
- 4:38Speaker 5: across the net.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:39Speaker 3: So help me out as a, as a volleyball ignoramus
- 4:43Speaker 3: and novice at best, you know, when, when, if you say, well,
- 4:47Speaker 3: our offensive system in football or even basketball, or I
- 4:51Speaker 3: could probably get a sense. Like if someone is describing,
- 4:54Speaker 3: if you are describing your offense, your offensive system, what
- 4:58Speaker 3: is it?
- 4:59Speaker 2: What separates you from the rest of volleyball?
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Our offensive system, so we are running what's called a 6-2,
- 5:07Speaker 5: which means that we have two setters and we have
- 5:10Speaker 5: six attackers.
- 5:12Speaker 4: So our setters are.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Only playing in the back row, which means that we
- 5:17Speaker 5: always have three offensive options in the front row. So
- 5:22Speaker 5: when teams are running a 5-1, it means that they
- 5:24Speaker 5: have only one setter and that they have five attackers.
- 5:27Speaker 5: And In three rotations, they only.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Have two front row attackers.
- 5:32Speaker 5: So their offense gets a little bit more predictable. I
- 5:36Speaker 5: think for us, our setters are really similar.
- 5:40Speaker 4: They're very consistent.
- 5:41Speaker 5: And so they distribute the ball really evenly between all
- 5:45Speaker 5: of those six front row players.
- 5:48Speaker 4: And so it's pretty tough. tough to defend us and
- 5:51Speaker 4: pick and choose your poison.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Um, especially when we're passing as well as we are
- 5:56Speaker 5: and we're in system as often as we are. Um,
- 5:59Speaker 5: so yeah, a lot of teams, um, will be in
- 6:02Speaker 5: five ones. Um, you know, Colorado was in a five one, um,
- 6:06Speaker 5: Baylor was in a five one. Um, and so that's,
- 6:09Speaker 5: It's a little bit easier to defend in the two
- 6:12Speaker 5: hitter rotations versus ours. You know, we always have three
- 6:16Speaker 5: and we have Cameron Gabadlo, who also is a very,
- 6:19Speaker 5: very elite back row attacker, which gives us four attackers
- 6:22Speaker 5: in some of those rotations as well.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Utah volleyball head coach Alyssa Dorico is the one giving
- 6:29Speaker 3: me stuff that's going way over my head here.
- 6:31Speaker 2: On the Sean O'Connell show.
- 6:34Speaker 3: No, I appreciate you doing that because it's, you know, it,
- 6:37Speaker 3: it informs when, when you're able to watch it, it,
- 6:40Speaker 3: I would like to know a little bit more of
- 6:42Speaker 3: the method in the madness and that's, it's going to
- 6:44Speaker 3: be a process coach, but I'll stick with it. I
- 6:49Speaker 3: already mentioned this back-to-back wins over ranked opponents in, in,
- 6:52Speaker 3: in conference play. The difference between a couple, I guess
- 6:57Speaker 3: it was almost two weeks ago now, a Northern Colorado
- 7:01Speaker 3: team in Greeley, you win that one 3-0, and then Boulder,
- 7:06Speaker 3: a ranked Colorado team that obviously is a Big 12 opponent,
- 7:09Speaker 3: you win that 3-0. How does the difference in volleyball,
- 7:13Speaker 3: how does the difference between the ranked competition, the elite
- 7:16Speaker 3: power four competition, how does that manifest itself versus a
- 7:20Speaker 3: Northern Colorado or a mid-major or something like that? How
- 7:24Speaker 3: does a Colorado team looked different than a Northern Colorado team.
- 7:28Speaker 3: How is a Kansas team going to look different than
- 7:31Speaker 3: like a Weber state team or whatever?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Well, first, I think there's a ton of parity in
- 7:38Speaker 5: college volleyball right now. And so I think across the board,
- 7:42Speaker 5: you're seeing, you know, some of these really consistently good
- 7:46Speaker 5: mid-majors compete with, you know, some of the power fours.
- 7:50Speaker 5: And so right before we played, you know, UNC, they
- 7:54Speaker 5: actually played Colorado.
- 7:55Speaker 4: And took them to five.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 5: They played UC Davis and took them to five and
- 8:00Speaker 5: UC Davis is the team that upset Arizona state. And
- 8:04Speaker 5: so I think if you're playing, you know, top mid-major teams, they're,
- 8:08Speaker 5: they're really competitive and you can't overlook them and you
- 8:11Speaker 5: got to go into the match, you know, with the
- 8:13Speaker 5: same mindset and preparation that you can, because there's, so
- 8:16Speaker 5: many people playing volleyball right now that those top mid-majors
- 8:19Speaker 5: are still getting really good recruits and they're playing very
- 8:21Speaker 5: good volleyball. The Power Four, when you get into some
- 8:24Speaker 5: of those top 20, top 25 ranked teams, I think
- 8:28Speaker 5: the biggest difference is they just have more weapons and
- 8:31Speaker 5: more physicality that you have to defend. So for example,
- 8:35Speaker 5: with Kansas, Taylor Stanley is a USA Pipeline kid and
- 8:40Speaker 5: probably touching a 10, eight, 10, nine, maybe it would
- 8:44Speaker 5: be my guess. Um, and so for us, you know,
- 8:48Speaker 5: it's thankfully something that we see in our own gym
- 8:50Speaker 5: with Lauren Helgeson touching, you know, 10, seven and a half, 10, eight.
- 8:53Speaker 4: So I think that there's.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Just more weapons. Um, when you get to some of
- 8:58Speaker 5: those top 25 power four level, um, programs that you
- 9:02Speaker 5: have to defend a lot more options at once. And
- 9:05Speaker 5: they're going to have multiple attackers that are able to
- 9:08Speaker 5: be really physical and go up and take.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Some really elite swings. But I do think that.
- 9:14Speaker 5: The parody in volleyball right now is elite and you're having,
- 9:17Speaker 5: you know, top level teams, you know, go five and
- 9:21Speaker 5: be in these, you know, grueling matches against very, very
- 9:24Speaker 5: good teams. you know, mid-major teams or even, you know,
- 9:27Speaker 5: conference opponents. We're seeing it in the Big 12 right
- 9:29Speaker 5: now with, you know, ASU and West Virginia went five
- 9:32Speaker 5: and West Virginia upset them.
- 9:34Speaker 4: And that West.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Virginia was picked preseason 13th and ASU was picked preseason
- 9:39Speaker 5: number one. And so I think there's a ton of
- 9:41Speaker 5: parity in the sport right now.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I want to go back to when you're facing against,
- 9:46Speaker 3: you know, you're facing someone who's, like you said, a
- 9:49Speaker 3: Team USA pipeline, a potential Olympian level player, that kind
- 9:52Speaker 3: of thing.
- 9:53Speaker 2: What's the approach there?
- 9:54Speaker 3: Do you change your approach against a roster that has
- 9:57Speaker 3: a player or two even like that? Can you play
- 10:01Speaker 3: around someone like that? Or do you have to attack
- 10:03Speaker 3: them and just hope for the best? I mean, how
- 10:06Speaker 3: is that done again? It's, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm
- 10:09Speaker 3: asking this question from a comparative standpoint. When we do
- 10:12Speaker 3: this with basketball and football and baseball and everything, sometimes
- 10:15Speaker 3: you just, you throw around a really good hitter. You
- 10:18Speaker 3: just say, all right, I'm not going to pitch to you.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Can you do that in volleyball?
- 10:23Speaker 5: Uh, not really, unfortunately.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Um, you know, they're, they get to control.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Um, the amount of sets that really good, um, attackers
- 10:31Speaker 5: get set on their side of the net. Um, so
- 10:33Speaker 5: it's not like you can, you know, double team them
- 10:36Speaker 5: or triple team them in basketball and, and stop them
- 10:38Speaker 5: from actually getting the set opportunity. And, um, you know,
- 10:42Speaker 5: you see that in, in matches, uh, we, we tried
- 10:44Speaker 5: to triple block, um, the best player on Baylor to Senya, um,
- 10:50Speaker 5: and she still got kills with us putting three blockers
- 10:53Speaker 5: in front of her.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Um, and so they, they can still.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Set as many balls to their best player as they
- 10:58Speaker 5: want to. Um, and a lot of the time, um,
- 11:01Speaker 5: they're still going to go up and they're going to
- 11:02Speaker 5: get killed, but we can.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Try and make it a little harder, um, with, you know, really.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Dialing in our back court defense and, um, trying to
- 11:11Speaker 5: put as many physical blockers in front of them as
- 11:13Speaker 5: we can. Um, But at the end of the day,
- 11:16Speaker 5: most of the.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Time, great attackers are still going to find ways to
- 11:19Speaker 4: get killed.
- 11:20Speaker 5: So we just got a game plan for what shots
- 11:23Speaker 5: we're willing to give up and what shots we're saying
- 11:27Speaker 5: we're going to take away with our floor defense and
- 11:30Speaker 5: put people in.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Those court spaces. Kind of like in basketball, if you
- 11:33Speaker 4: know that somebody's.
- 11:34Speaker 5: Best thing is, you know, driving the right side of
- 11:37Speaker 5: the court, we're going to hopefully try and make.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Them go to the left side of the court.
- 11:40Speaker 5: And make it a little harder for them. So can
- 11:42Speaker 5: we take away some of those spaces and make them
- 11:46Speaker 5: hit a shot that maybe isn't as comfortable for them?
- 11:49Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Coach, how many ranked teams do you have to beat
- 11:53Speaker 3: before your team starts getting the respect that they deserve
- 11:56Speaker 3: in this situation? Like, I'm looking at rankings right now,
- 12:00Speaker 3: and I think these might be a little dated, but
- 12:03Speaker 3: I don't know where to find this. It says through
- 12:05Speaker 3: games from last week, but where are your youths in
- 12:09Speaker 3: these top 25 rankings?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 5: You know, I, to me, rankings are just a number.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Do I think that we probably deserve some attention after
- 12:20Speaker 5: the weekend that we just had? Heck yeah. But, you know,
- 12:24Speaker 5: I think to me at the end of the season,
- 12:26Speaker 5: I want to make a run at the end of
- 12:28Speaker 5: the year. And right now, you know, it's still one
- 12:30Speaker 5: week into conference play. And I would rather our team be,
- 12:35Speaker 5: you know, continuing playing with a chip on their shoulder of,
- 12:37Speaker 5: you know, Like we got to continue to work and
- 12:39Speaker 5: continue to earn it.
- 12:41Speaker 4: But I think, do I think we deserve some attention
- 12:44Speaker 4: for sure? Do I, do I think that, you know,
- 12:47Speaker 4: we still need to play with a little bit of chip?
- 12:50Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 12:51Speaker 5: And to me, the end of the season is what
- 12:52Speaker 5: matters most, not, not the first week of conference play
- 12:55Speaker 5: right now.
- 12:56Speaker 3: So we, we spent a lot of time on this
- 12:58Speaker 3: last week, as I'm sure you're aware, Utah football is
- 13:01Speaker 3: in a bi-week and that's in, you know, football, they
- 13:04Speaker 3: use it to heal the bumps and bruises and some
- 13:06Speaker 3: coaches are, want you grinding and working hard and lifting
- 13:10Speaker 3: through whatever those bumps and bruises are. And other coaches
- 13:13Speaker 3: are like, you know what, let's maximize the rest. Let's
- 13:15Speaker 3: get those bodies right. As you're in conference play now,
- 13:19Speaker 3: and it is a long season and there's a lot
- 13:21Speaker 3: of work to be done here. What is your philosophy?
- 13:25Speaker 3: What is the rhythm like in, you know, redlining and
- 13:28Speaker 3: pushing as hard as possible, but also making sure that
- 13:31Speaker 3: you keep these bodies healthy?
- 13:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I think after this weekend, we have a quick
- 13:37Speaker 5: turnaround to Kansas, so we're probably not going to push
- 13:42Speaker 5: as much this week with having practice. Today's an off
- 13:45Speaker 5: day for them to get recovered, and then we have
- 13:47Speaker 5: practice tomorrow, and then we.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Leave on Wednesday to head to Kansas.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Um, this is a shorter week than most, but I think, um,
- 13:56Speaker 5: you know, there's moments that our sports science team here is, um, giving.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Us the go ahead to, to push them.
- 14:01Speaker 5: And I think next week with only having one match
- 14:04Speaker 5: against West Virginia, um, we'll.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Probably push them, you know, a little earlier in the week.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Uh, and then they'll have a lot of time to
- 14:10Speaker 5: recover after that and get reset.
- 14:13Speaker 4: So, um, I lean into the sports science.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Side of that, of, of when to push, when to
- 14:18Speaker 5: pull back, you know, see where they are at with
- 14:21Speaker 5: their fourth plate testing and how fresh their bodies are
- 14:23Speaker 5: feeling and try to make sure that they're as fresh
- 14:27Speaker 5: and prepared as they can be for matches, but also,
- 14:29Speaker 5: you know, getting better and getting the work that they
- 14:31Speaker 5: need to as well.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Coach, what gym is the wildest, the loudest, the craziest?
- 14:36Speaker 3: What's the best atmosphere in this Big 12?
- 14:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I do think this weekend is going to be.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Tough with Kansas and K-State. Their arenas are volleyball-only arenas
- 14:48Speaker 5: that are a little bit smaller, and they.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Sell them out.
- 14:51Speaker 5: So it's going to be loud in there.
- 14:53Speaker 4: It's going to be packed. Both times that we played
- 14:56Speaker 4: there two years ago, it was great match.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Environments, and really looking forward to that. And then I
- 15:03Speaker 5: think just with the rivalry, going down to BYU is
- 15:07Speaker 5: always a tough one. And I think them coming here,
- 15:11Speaker 5: usually it turns out to be a pretty crazy match
- 15:15Speaker 5: for us as well that we've broken the state attendance
- 15:17Speaker 5: record the last two years when we've had them come here.
- 15:20Speaker 5: So I think that there's a lot of great venues, but.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Kansas and K-State this weekend.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Are really good volleyball venues and sell out and get
- 15:28Speaker 5: loud and crazy. And obviously rivalries bring out the best
- 15:32Speaker 5: in fans and lots of.
- 15:34Speaker 4: People show up.
- 15:35Speaker 5: So the BYU game will be another one.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Okay, apropos of nothing except the Utah Mammoth begin their
- 15:41Speaker 3: season this week, and obviously that's still a relatively new
- 15:44Speaker 3: pro sports commodity we have here in the market. I'm
- 15:47Speaker 3: trying to get a sense of the other sports royalty,
- 15:50Speaker 3: the coaches, the dignitaries, the sports people. Have you jumped
- 15:55Speaker 3: on board the Mammoth bandwagon yet? Your season kind of
- 16:00Speaker 3: makes it impossible until at least December, but have you
- 16:05Speaker 3: jumped on the bandwagon yet?
- 16:07Speaker 5: I am a huge hockey fan. So I actually grew
- 16:12Speaker 5: up in Western New York and being a cold weather
- 16:18Speaker 5: state with the Sabres close and we had an AHL
- 16:22Speaker 5: team in Rochester close to where my hometown is that
- 16:25Speaker 5: we would have family outings to go watch the Amherst
- 16:29Speaker 5: play when I was younger. So I grew up going
- 16:32Speaker 5: to hockey games. All of my extended family are hockey fans.
- 16:37Speaker 5: And so when we got an NHL team here, I
- 16:40Speaker 5: immediately was stoked. I think that NHL environments and just
- 16:44Speaker 5: the fast paced play of hockey is super fun. So
- 16:47Speaker 5: I have jumped on the bandwagon. I have some mammoth
- 16:51Speaker 5: gear and Um, we, we have gone to, uh, a few,
- 16:54Speaker 5: a few games and, and had some, you know, outings
- 16:57Speaker 5: and stuff with Utah and with friends, um, that we've
- 17:00Speaker 5: gotten a chance to go to some other games. So definitely, uh,
- 17:03Speaker 5: definitely a hockey fan and love that we have the
- 17:05Speaker 5: mammoth here in Salt Lake.
- 17:06Speaker 3: All right. I just learned something that I did not
- 17:08Speaker 3: expect to learn. I thought you'd be teaching me about volleyball.
- 17:11Speaker 3: You guys called the Rochester Americans, the Amherst.
- 17:16Speaker 5: That's what we did when I was growing up.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Yep.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yep.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Okay.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Is there something, are we supposed to be shortening American
- 17:23Speaker 3: to Amherst in all cases or just with the hockey team?
- 17:27Speaker 5: Just with the hockey team, just with the hockey team. Yeah,
- 17:29Speaker 5: it was, uh, my, my aunt and uncle, um, were big, uh,
- 17:33Speaker 5: Albany river rats fans and devils fans now because of
- 17:37Speaker 5: that feeder program. Um, and my, my family was a big, uh,
- 17:43Speaker 5: Rochester Amherst fans. Um, and so when the devils or
- 17:46Speaker 5: when the river rats would play the Amherst, we, uh,
- 17:48Speaker 5: we would always have, uh, some, some battles there, um,
- 17:51Speaker 5: with my, my family, family lineage.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Coach. I love it. That's awesome.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Well, I didn't mean to take you down that rabbit hole.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Stay back to Utah volleyball. Good luck, obviously, on the
- 18:04Speaker 3: Kansas road trip. And we'll try to get some people
- 18:07Speaker 3: out when you return to the Huntsman Center in early October.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Keep up the good work. And hopefully next time we talk,
- 18:15Speaker 3: your team's in the rankings.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I appreciate it.
- 18:18Speaker 5: And always great to be on the show. And thank
- 18:20Speaker 5: you for your time today.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Speaker 2, Alissa Dorico, Utah volleyball head coach, put some
- 18:25Speaker 3: respect on the name of the volleyball Utes.
