- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm tired back with Paul and Paul has a going pretty nicely.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's good weather right now and it's a Friday that we're recording so got to work early and that's always very nice.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm melting because we have this insane heat wave and it might be some of the hottest weather I've ever experienced with like human X of 40 Yeah, I mean we actually we actually had that last week.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, we had 40 we had 40 here last weekend Yeah, I know like it was like we had it Saturday and Sunday last week and it was it was pretty rough
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like on Sunday, literally I had to like get out of my apartment at like 6 p.m. because it just got too stuffy, where I started feeling like I'm actually going to like, you know, like start choking basically.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, well, it's only 36 degrees now.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess I can hear that and it's like Jesus Christ.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: This is bad.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: And now we're gonna spend the next three hours talking about air-conditioning discourse between you and Europe.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: No, but seriously, we have a few things to get to and one thing that we really wanted to talk about.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: But first I would also like to thank everyone that reached out to me, I think, because a couple people did, I am feeling fine now.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: I just transitioned medicines and the doctor said, you know, you might feel tired and groggy for a couple days.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's all it was.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I missed the last episode.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: So no biggie, nothing shocking, no allergic reaction or anything I am furiously fine, but thank you for reaching out.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: But then we have to go to and Paul, you talk a little bit about it.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: But let's talk about the life and the career of Joe Dorian, because this is why I wanted to come back.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Because I wanted to say my piece about his passing, because it's trapped it can be he was like, I don't know.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think he's one of the most underrated wrestlers of the 21st century.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a reasonable thing to say actually.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I think that's very fair and also like kind of like a cornerstone of ultra pan throughout like a really like turbulent period of day existence as well.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he came back from his brief sojourn to Florida championship wrestling and then went back into the main event, basically all through the 2010s, up until his first cancer
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think back in 2017 or elected 2017, but he was out a year for that first one, and so came back won the triple crown and again and everything like that.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: What surprised me the most is I'm not surprised at the sort of outpouring that he got from the other Japanese wrestlers, like I thought like Zeus and Junaki Yamaha had very nice posts about him.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: and it's not that other wrestlers thought of him as a very nice guy because I saw many wrestlers even ones that were like, I even saw like, Byron Sxton of all people who was just, you know, briefly shared some time with Joe and Florida Championship wrestlers in such a nice guy, right?
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's a testament to the kind of person he was all of these wrestlers that just briefly crossed his path have such nice things to say about him.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: But I was surprised by how a fan's given sort of,
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: All Japan's relative niche status, especially when he was at his peak in the company.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there were far fewer odd walls on all Japan than there are now.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is, I mean, really like a good chunk of his peak was before all Japan.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's like, because I think,
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: kind of have to take into consideration a fair few of the people that are listening actually came in to all Japan after or really only know all Japan is like this promotion it is all Japan TV so you have like this like regular easy access to everything it's like no good chunk of like Joe's peak within the promotion it's like it's prior to that so like
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: like we got we do have a lot of footage of him but like not everything and sometimes it took a long as time to actually get that footage as well and it's probably quite hard to get at these days as well.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yes it is not as much stuff as on YouTube although I would argue that some of his best matches are still out there quite easy to find if you want to.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I would even
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: There were more canto even before like that brief period between like 2016 2017 and the part of 2018 because I'll just hand TV started in some time in 2018.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember if it was beginning of the year or I think it was like made or late of year and the Zeus versus canto maxes were some of the first matches that got aired on on it.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: But you know there was an uptake in that brief period I think of I have also an aldropan from canto.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Even before MTV started that was like, you know, and that also coincides with Joe leaving because of cancer his first but with cancer So and then he comes back and you know, I mean, he's not quite as you know I mean everything happened and he's not quite as good as he was and then you know even before He left for whatever that was we don't know and and of course
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know, in the pandemic, I mean, his his shoulder was really bothering him in the last couple months of his odds of pan running like the real world tag league.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: in 2019 and everything like that.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think with the Junachiyama?
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: So he was slowing down a bit.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: He did actually get into great shape when he showed up in an impact such a day.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: And he actually had a very underrated, well, you know, underrated run there, going and having a decent match of dog gallows, all people, as well as Kojima and Josh Alexander.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Those are by three
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean that Josh Alexander match it's like literally like right up this like one of his best matches ever to be quite honest I was just last night Was it his last match really?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: I believe so or one of his last matches before they came back, right?
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, I will check that no he had a it's the last of a match Boy the match against one cult man doesn't revolver
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow, but it is almost like it's like it's 7th basically like a 7th last match of century.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so there was sort of that and yeah, don't forget like a weaker tube before like a weaker tube before when his cancer diagnosis came back in 2022.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: He was scheduled to face Jake Lee at the 15th anniversary show.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, he was.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had actually completely forgotten about.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, no, yeah, then they had to pull them and then they put in the moron instead, who beat Jake in 90 seconds or whatever.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm still convinced that the book he would have been the same and Joe would have beaten Jake in 90 seconds and then lost to control the next day.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, no, absolutely.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: No, that that that that was pretty clear that I was probably always the plan like because like you're not going to like put somebody else into that slot and then Give him this kind of like win if that wasn't like your plan for like the original guy that doesn't make any sense basically.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I guess the question is what would Joe have squashed Jake to Yes, squashed maybe is a strong where it was a flash pin from no more about what would Joe have squashed Jake
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he probably would have squashed him like even more, probably just would have like Larry at a moment and then just end up immediately.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I got totally sidetracked because when I was going to say is what surprised me the most was the fan outpouring not the Japanese fans.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, but like the international Pearl fan base for lack of a better term.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: I was shocked with how many people actually like watched Joe Like top matches and we're following all Japan in that period that I know sort of come back to talk about him, right?
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: That really surprised me.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: It was actually quite heartwarming, right?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, for sure, like there's some sort, like there's got service that I'm in that have like there aren't like wrestling focused on in the slightest, but they have like you know like Yeah, wrestling like Fred basically to like talk about it and generally there the people I would generally put into like a more like
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: casual thing, we're like, get some of them watch Poro, but not like, I would say like they don't really go super deep or anything like that.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so, and even there, like people were like talking about Joe, but really, really surprised me.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like I did like I was like, oh, wow, I didn't realize that like you guys even knew who like Joe Doring was.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: I was shocked and everything was, uh, you know, and that was really nice to see.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: But, I mean,
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: part of that was because there was nobody else doing what he was doing yeah when he was doing it basically right i mean um new Japan didn't really have any big guys and uh if it was it was dot gallows or uh do you ever strong guy who was strong guy uh what's the name John Anderson or something i have team with hero memory he he was some american roated up guy that team was not
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, probably, but I have completely stricken this from my memory.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: This sort of been late arts, I guess, I think, if I remember correctly.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, and then like, no, I didn't really have any big guys.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think, especially, one's biased past away, right?
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: And even on the native side, more shima, you know, retired and everything like that.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, I guess if you want to count quiet storm, but not No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: Um, just like I, it's always sort of shocking that this was, once it's, well, I mean, there was a staple of pro wrestling everywhere, but particularly in Japan, and it's just crazy how, um, he's, he's, he's not a guy or that's not a thing anymore, right, he was a throwback.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's a bit more now.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's just also because just the kind of guys that were like coming up through like the American Indies scene right then, right?
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like it because I think that's also part because I think a part also was like the differences of like where these guys were like getting recruited from because it used to be that basically it's just like people that washed out a football.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: what then like go into wrestling and it's still you still have some of those cases for it's more like people that grew up being wrestling fans as teenagers what then go into wrestling and no offense those generally aren't star football players are like the kind of guy that's
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and look, I'm very much including myself with us.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, like, it's so sort of, like, super happy, don't worry about it.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, very averagely hired at, like, 174 and everything.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: But like, you know, like, that's what I mean, where it's like, like, it's probably more like guys like meet at Wendon to wrestling rather than, you know, guys like Joe Doreng.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's changed a bit more now.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like you do have a few more, like,
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: guys like this again like you know like I mean a perfect example of that is like the guy he had his last match against one called madness right yeah like that like he's kind of like a similar guy like that like you you have a few more of those now like it's not as much as it used to be but I think it's not like a case like it was for like Joe during his prime where he was like the only guy that was like that
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Especially in Japan, although I mean, as we said many times in the show, like all Japan is always sort of kept that flame alive.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: They rebuilt it a bit.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: They cycle through a few large guys and now they have towels.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's like those.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: and everything like that, right?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what Joe represents.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, I just, I don't see, except for towels, I just don't see any other Joe's on the horizon.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: You mean that are coming into Japan?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's also the problem.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Or anyone.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Or a lot of people.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the kind of get sucked into like the performance center where they learn a bad way to wrestle and then don't want to go and grind on the Indies
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, and I think that I don't want, I'm a, I'm an absolute defender of Kalin Newman and
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: Draw a Maloney, but it's clear that New Japan is now trans fixed on more shall we say Osprey influenced foreigners?
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay, I mean the one I will give pushback on is olic bolt and I think olic bolt Oh, yes, that's true.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm falling into that category right where he's like, yeah, it's a big ugly luck who hits you hard.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like obviously not quite obviously different character because it would be weird for olic
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, well, you know, Central Asia, uh, yeah, I mean, they ride on the steps as well, I guess, but you can be like on the part of it.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's not our gimmick or, you know, you know, they already have that.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's great.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's right.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so yeah, and I mean, we, it's still, I don't know, the, uh, the jury is still there on what, how far New, New Japan's going to,
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: go with bolted.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, no, no, I mean, that's very fair.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I don't think it's like he's getting to that level that like Joe God of like all Japan, like I don't think he's gonna like when the like I WJP heavyweight title.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: No, but I, I wouldn't say that this is his like they've decided that this will be his ceiling or anything yet.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's still sort of.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's still up in the area.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's still up in the air.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're giving him, they're giving him stuff and that's fair, but yeah, Noah, I mean, not really either, you know,
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: They are in a morrow, I mean, in a morrow, I think, I mean, in a morrow, yeah, in a morrow is a cowboy, but also their foreigners have been, you know, like Jack Morrison, um, that type, right?
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, they don't really bring in like, you know, big ugly looks.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: They don't, yeah, they don't really do that.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what we presented.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: They had, they had their almost, and they've got their, I know,
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, that's actually what's happened there, and all it's gone again.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, but I mean, he only came in for short bursts anyway, and but he's also very, like, new in the business and so working progress.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: But speaking of what happened there, what's going on with Jack Morris, like just working IWRG?
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess he's, I, it's probably, I would assume he's trying to get into AAA because, but I'm like, I don't know.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know why they're not it, like I don't know why WEE hasn't isn't seemingly interested in him because he's literally perfect for them.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see a word I don't understand.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: by WWE standards.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, but it's not like he has the little like he has fraud and other guys that are shorter than him, even.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like, I don't know, like if they didn't bring you in after the, after the almost team were like, again, if you remember what he looked like back then, where he like literally looked like he hadn't seen a car in like months.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: and if they don't pick you up after that it's I'm sorry like I just don't think it's ever gonna happen and nothing from AEW not even like a dark match or a job or it's boggling does this is what I start getting into.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: who which promoters wife did he sleep with or yeah something something boy or you know something like that like you deserve a bad rep of some kind you know it's just boggling
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: that he doesn't get something.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, even TNA.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, TNA also.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's like, it's like nobody is interested in him, seemingly.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: And he's working in the, I guess, technically the number three company in Mexico.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it has to be because I'm, because it gets pretty bad, pretty quickly after the victory.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, depends how you want.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's like regular promotions in Tijuana that can draw.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if I W.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: uh... necoup on right i you know they don't play yeah i think yeah i think it pretty much just run there so it's all like a rick yeah all of no no no no all of his i w d metrics are in the arena no kapan yeah so it is uh... i kind of baffling on that uh... so by the way back to job uh... and his sort of influence which i think is uh... fair to say looking back
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: more significant that people give him credit for just being one of the only few guys doing what he was doing in this time.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: And in the thoughts, and which is why I say, he is one of the most underrated wrestlers of the 21st century, just completely unfair, overlooked, whatever happened in WWE.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, because WWE put on some, I mean, they put on
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Festus on their television in that time period that was not that far away from when Joe would have been in for a championship wrestling, so it is a little surprising that he didn't even make like, you know I mean, this was an hour when when Vince was still putting on some absolute shitty large bed on TV
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: And he didn't even last a year there in development.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that's sort of, that's sort of interesting, right?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's just like nothing really, but yeah, I mean, but I think like for like all Japan specifically, because he was such a constant, right?
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: he was like because it was like really like again a very turbulent time period for all Japan as it really was for more like I mean yeah the 2010s I mean I think the 2010s was as a whole while he was there which is his main period like it was just this like very turbulent promotion lots of roster turnover and everything
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: like both on the foreigner and like native side as well.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: And he just kind of was there for out like most of it.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, like the tag team, like the like Suaomas, like tag team partner and everything.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like really like evolution.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like as much as we now, like associate, like as much as we joke about everybody leaves and drawings, like evolution, like evolution is both Suaomas, but also Joe Doreng's faction.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, most of the mental level in terms of lifestyle and everything.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's no evolution without him.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, back then it was, uh, you know, Saddo, Aoki, and then Joe and Suama.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then super tiger.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's it.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's it.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's taking it was all to the get it.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: Which is a very funny in hindsight, but yeah, I mean, that was the the key thing.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: Again, like also a great tag worker.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: We cannot forget that.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: And with a
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: a number of different partners.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he can't even Bruno want a real world tag league.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then him and Sue Wallace, his best team, I think.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's no doubt in my mind.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then, well, I mean, he had his, of course, with the dual James.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay, obviously, like,
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: But like that match against the violent dry-ins, you know, from the real world tag leak, that was really fucking good.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: Of course it was.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: And also, Dylan James, I kicked out of all Japan for the...
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: the near criminal things he did.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yeah, no, I think pretty for other people.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: But for other reasons, yes, yeah, that I think that was in 2019 and everything like that.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, he has just like to see there as well with the singles matches.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: We are building up Kenj, like being like a part of the rise of Kenjus for actually, because he was like right because basically like the two things that like Kenjus was that were like put in front of Kenjus to like overcome.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're like Suwama and Enjo.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then Fuji is Kawa, Fuji is Kawa, yeah.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Fuji is Kawa later than because obviously Joe because Joe was like out with his first like bout of cancer at the time.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: And then Tsubama, like Torres ACL and all of that, so they had to put zoos into that slot and all of that.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: But that was the original plan.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: It was basically Kento overcomes like Tsubama and Joe.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: And they did do that later, right?
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: Around.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: And that like I think that was them basically catching up on that storyline that they had wanted to do like a couple of years earlier.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny that Kento turned out so successfully because all of his big opponents got injured right?
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: All my got injured had to be keep the title.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: So Kento won the vacant title decision match against Zeus.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then of course,
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we just took away a major sort of someone that was supposed to help put over Keto.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: But hey, Keto still did it.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then the guy he wanted to build up as his like generational rival or constantly got injured as well and didn't get over.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, like Jake.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Jake, right.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you meant with canto.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not not to like, sorry.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was like, that you're doing really well.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: I did like the fact that like can do made it like basically like it literally against like all of the like forms of the universe and right against them is actually a miracle.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, although, I mean, by the time they were like, let's make Jake his generation rival, Kenta was already pretty established, I think.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: They just needed someone because, you know, it was clear that Suhwama, and it should call who were like on the door 50 years old.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so you had to like do something, you have to find something else there.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I think that, but yeah, because, no more, I had been without was gone, injured by that.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: because he gets injured like why before the pandemic starts?
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, no, because they had that like amazing like match like at the beginning of the year, right?
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then, yeah, or the late 2010 or early 2020, I don't remember the exact.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think it was in 2020, yeah, I think basically as a great match with Canto, and then he immediately gets like injured and like basically like retires more or less.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: Which is a shame, but yeah, so I mean, it is sort of we actually break that history down at Kento.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: He not only does he get over despite all of his opponents or possible rivals being injured.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, let's help her get you, but also saddened, uh, you're attached to the tag team.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, and he made it work.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't a bad day.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just, uh, I just had to get that joke and everything like that.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so what's the joke during canon for you then, Paul?
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so, okay.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think the chalk pick for like best matches to match for Shia's hockey, right?
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like the triple cron match like that one never one is tremendous like it's just such a good like again I've been saying for like the last little while in general like this just go shoes are key as the tragic heroes like yeah I go shoes are key and this is like prime like tragic hero like go shoes are key actually managing to like overcome like jodoring and everything.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: A couple of points here that I think are classic Shiozaki.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, this is like second challenge in a row because he lost and joined October.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 24.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: Which they made like part of the video of like the video package and everything.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: Also, at this point, Go Shiozaki had almost been a member of the algebra pad roster for two years, and still had not won the triple crown title yet.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: Despite half of the company leaving,
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it was literally like just a couple of people else yeah, but it's sort of it's but they for whatever reason decided to stay loyal to Suwama, who I mean, hold it too long is not fair because this is still Suwama in his peak, but you have to make go.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: No, and then he said they were in the same line.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then like what he's hovering was two or four months.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_00]: He lost his acupuncture.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which wasn't very good.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then he leaves the company.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, acupuncture and other guy that never got to put over.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: Can't you?
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Have a still original.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think that was the original, original plan.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: And he left and formed.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, boo.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: Things rolled or whatever?
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: Um.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he even wrestled there.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was it.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think they still did one or two shows, but I don't think.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think by the time they ran shows, he was too sick to even wrestled.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: Which is very, it's just, yeah, that one is also a sad situation.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of sad situations when we just mentioned him, but I forgot to bring this up because I saw like a social media post recently Noia Neoya tomorrow has it wrestled, so it's the end of March and Last social media post I saw from not too long ago the man is farming so What's the popular activity for wrestlers that stop wrestling?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I mean here.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: How much good for him?
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: Keep here it is.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: I see the tweet.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: I play to 300 sweet potatoes seedlings
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: Hashtag Street Potato.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hashtag Street Potato field.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, it's okay.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's either sweet potato farm or not.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like given is injury like history.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's probably for the best.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there's more.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: This is about an April.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: So this is only a few weeks from his last batch.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday, we successfully finalized the contract for the Street Potato field.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to set to search Street Potato farming in May.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: So sounds like you've wanted to have that final match and I've gone to call it anyway.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, who's to say, but he's busy with the street potatoes.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe he'll be our wrestling guy in the winter.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe he's going to bring him in for like no, it's going to like redo the bumper crop show and I'm going to bring him in just for that as an expert.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, he'll say answer three potatoes to swap out.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he can do it.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: He can do it at that market and swam a song.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, the govurs is Joe match.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: Go Joe was is the choppick by some.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I want to nominate, uh, go Shiyo Zaki and Junakiyama versus Joe Dwayne and Suama from June 2nd, 2013, which was, uh, right on the, was it the last?
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: No, it was not the last show before the split, but it was like one of the last shows before the split.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: The Muto people, like left for them.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Muto people leaving.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, to me,
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think I actually might like that match more than go versus Joe.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: But to me, it was like one of the closest matches to like Danny's Alchipane, you can think of, well, I mean, look at some of the people involved.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, no, no, I mean, you're right, yeah.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: But and also go wrestles that style perfectly.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I really, if you haven't seen it, and it's easy to find.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: But what to say, that one is on YouTube, yeah.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is on YouTube.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: So you could find that, and I talked to people, go back to the archives of Alan Forehouse, pro-Russian Paradise, because I just raved about that match when we did our little retrospective on the burning invasion of Al-Japan.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, at least probably two years ago at this point, we recorded that, maybe even longer ago.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: actually quite possibly longer ago coming on three years, not that I think of it.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, that's just incredible match.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the forgotten tag matches of the 2010s in an era that, you know, didn't have a lot of tag matches, especially in Japan because, well, everybody stopped giving a shit kind of except for all Japan.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, all Japan, like that's a fit.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that was really kind of all Japan's kind of like feature, right?
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, or like, they're like unique feature in a time period, really was that they were the one promotion that gave a shit about like heavyweight tag team, right?
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like nobody else did.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: New Japan sort of?
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I didn't get now.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: But you think, but do you think that once a knockout brothers are broken up,
- 32:18[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, gets his inevitable singles right and like they'll be in give a shit about the tag team terms.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, because I would argue they were kind of a promotion carried by the heavy rate tag team titles for like the last year and a half.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like probably more probably more like the last two years.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: right like because like they have kept teams together a lot longer like you had like you're someone like I taught at the top of the promotion there right like it I don't think he's your mom is getting the card placement that the knock-up runs were though okay
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, not in that way, but they definitely were like in terms of match quality, it had got not a lot better.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Right, like with peace from on, like that's I think maybe more like obviously not card placement.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they're ever gonna be because I think, like regardless of which one if it's junior or heavyweight tag wrestling, like that one just doesn't get like top billing ever in New Japan.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: like excluding like the knockout brothers, but at least you had like good matches, like a very awesome, like the piece of one match was like the best match on the card, which wasn't really erect, which definitely was not an occurrence during like 20-10s, like New Japan peace, like nobody opposite, but like that was generally the weakest match on the card, was like a heavyweight attack match.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: Now, in Noah's case, they're a little better about putting stars with the Tai-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: heavyweight activism.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's just kind of up and down basically and sometimes it's up here for like months when it's just like, do these titles still exist?
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: Which is just like, oh yeah, like Takashi Sugura and Masakitamiya does not defend Ninja titles for like three months and then losing them to Hank and Hank.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then obviously another chart pick obviously
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: Classic show me power.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: No, that one is very much like.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you just want to people just kind of like running into each other and just heading each other really hard.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: That one is right up there.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that Zeus of all people had one of the sweetest posts after god.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that one that one nearly made me cry.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: Zeus is clearly more of a street heart than I think people might think.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean the man runs a promotion aimed at children Yeah, exactly like that's the thing Who knows if he like softened up because of that or if he actually always was just kind of I think he always strikes me he strikes me like a guy that always was a softier
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, uh, and everything like that, uh, or also do not, I'm opposed to those parties of, uh, of him and Joe were like the bodyguard spoke with the guards that I'm like, damn, I wish I was like, god, yeah, like they seem, this seemed like sort of like basically like, I would say like Zeus and like Joe seemed like amazing people to just go and have a beer with face, like, you know, where you just go and you're just like, okay, like,
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just shoot the shit basically for about two hours while we like powered back like five years.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and now we never found out the mystery of Joe Doring like he actually fully leave all dependency in 2019.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: What was the reason?
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we only had speculation.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, his body was kind of in rough shape.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the thing, right?
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: And the first bit, because he popped up in impact in what 2021.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so he had like like a year.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm looking here and his impact is, oh, January 1st, 2021.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: So he was there sooner than I remember.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: But the point is he took some time off, obviously, in the pandemic.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I don't believe not wanting to go back to the end yet.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: Do the 14 day isolation.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and also again like as a guy who had like I don't think the cancer had come they obviously The cancer had no it doesn't come back until 2022 and he've been working Exactly, but it's still like he had a lot of government and everything like you definitely don't want to be out there During like a massive pandemic like like like the whole like like that there are just like long-term damages from like the treatment That just leave you like you do
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, really much understand why he wouldn't like what's just like, no, no, no, no.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to take time off until this shit settles down.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: This is not being being some sort of one of those weird cancer cranks that be like, do your natural path of stuff, but like, you know, if you're weak, like the chemo can kill you because of how strong you are.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you know, you'd be do your chemotherapy.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: Don't take your like, green smoothie to cure cancer folks.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I'm just saying, you know, but I'm just saying.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, but that should essentially doesn't say any strong.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like my mom actually used to like manufacture that stuff.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that should, like, like, I know what's in there, like, that's what your hair falls.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's, yeah, exactly.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason why, like, you're also spaced it out.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, get the other reason why, like, you don't just aren't just constantly on, like, chemotherapy because that would literally just kill you.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's why you have to, like, basically, like, have to do it in ways.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's the only way of, like, doing it, like, safely, essentially.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: So, but I'd be, at the time, I think we would especially, there was rumors going around that, like, big suit took the book, and he was out as big as big on, uh,
- 38:10[SPEAKER_00]: Joe as Akiyama was once Akiyama left.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_00]: I have no clue how true that is.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: Although, there might be something to Akiyama leaving to that.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: I have no clue.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like a...
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was a notable, like, change over in foreign as around that time.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's true.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: Although, it'd be Joe's a little different.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's not Josh Bodo.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: Or Joel Redmond.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: Or Joel Redmond.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: Who have actually came back?
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: Or do you remember what was his name?
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wasn't there any drones?
- 38:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're during that time.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah, I mean, yeah, but he's another one, yeah, that's also... No, actually, wait, I just saw a name as well.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see if I can find that.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: Which, that's actually a name I had forgotten about.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a blind, oh yeah, I'm blind.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: Dalton Drelick.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: Just like the Terry Funk guy that are not the Terry.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: The Dory Funk guy that basically Dory like logged out.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like basically he was like the guy carrying the bags for Dory Funk.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: Dory is what's incredible is that.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: But there are many great wrestlers that have passed through the the halls of the funk and academy.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like I believe that Dory did also some training of the rock.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: And everything like that, if I'm not mistaken.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_00]: But the actual wrestlers that he would latch on to and push on his own were all shit.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, because he wasn't like he was like basically he wanted guys at verse boring as him.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: And like all the good wrestlers that came on through his doors, like did he just went out on his own?
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: Or what?
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: finishing school.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's good for like like I said he'd always like he has like very good like like technically like it's technically wrestling is like very like technically sound and everything like if you want somebody to really like polish if you really want to polish that part of your game Dory is absolutely the guy for you.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's just that bit lacking in the charismatic part.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you go to the fucking academy.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: You get recorded by Marty Funk on the iPad.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's always just funny.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: I always think that one of the good stories, like some of your guys that you push aren't you.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I say this and I say this with all due respect to
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Salah Nishimura, who I love, and I've always put over as another great underrated wrestler.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: But he was like the most charismatic guy that Doree fucked every book.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, all to love me, love me some Salah Nishimura, but definitely not like a charismatic Mamishian, but yet definitely more than like the other Doree students.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so any other Joe matches that you think are underbladed?
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so that's actually because I was like going through it and actually I think and I don't know if I think to footage for that should be out there as well is the match that he had in the 2017 carnival with Daisuke Sekimoto.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that is a good match.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like that one, like that's the other one, like similar to Zeus match, where it's just like two like just big slap of claps of me just crashing into each other.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: That one, because that one is also like that one is like pretty short.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's like in and out, like it's 642.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm very certain the footage is out there, but yeah.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, I definitely remember that much being really, really fucking fun from that tournament.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that tournament in general is really good, but
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really love that specific one.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what are the big shames in all of this?
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: Is that I don't see or remember a big Joe Dorick versus UG Okobayashi match?
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, like, yeah, I mean, there is, like, there is, like, but I'm pretty sure I saw, oh yeah, I mean, I mean, there is the Subama and Doring versus the strong BJ match though.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: That is a match that's out there.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_00]: I just saw this and I cannot get this one out of my head.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_00]: I love you remember the 2011 Real World Tag League.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_00]: uh... twenty eleven uh... not super well to be quite honest much dysky sickabodo and yuja yuji okobayashi versus jodoring and big daddy oh god yeah he's ascribed yeah that's with her
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: down.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot all about that.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: I remember Big Daddy in Aljapan.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: I just forget that day.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: That day team during a real little time.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a match that I don't even know if I've ever seen.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: I might have that I need to go hunt down.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: This is it's it was taped because the main event of the show is a carnival match between
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's a ton of hot shivers to swam a final, so this stuff is all right there, but we got a tense case of soccer versus Joe Dorey match on this show.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Jesus.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: And it only was eight minutes, but I mean, these guys can do their thing in eight minutes.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: Let me tell you.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just currently looking through like Joe's like partners during in the real world tag lake and it's, it's very much like,
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a random assortment of people, basically.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you obviously had him, like obviously him and like, mood of on it.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: And then, like, obviously, he was in there with Subama.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's been just talked about the team but like, baked at a... You think of Akiyama for like, his final one?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I remember the team that's what he was saying.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: He was, you know, suddenly, yeah.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_00]: And there.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: Charging in Taru.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: In 2000.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: During in Taru, yeah.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: But because that was like, when he was in Voodoo murderous,
- 44:22[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Dorian, Zoniak.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Aaron, Aaron, I feel like Jesus Christ.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then all the fans fucking like foreign aspect and were like absolute random ass crap back of like those people that were like willing to go to Japan.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: I know they still are, still are now, but you know.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing that I guess is a bit of what happened there was, how come Joe didn't go to Russell 1?
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, because he came in through the video.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he came into Moodle, Moodle took a lucky new one and pushed him right off of that, right when you know Joe was, I don't
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: Joe stood up compared to a lot of the other foreigners, but he still wasn't as polished product until like the 2010s I'd say.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe it was a similar thing to like, you know, like, like, you know, like Hanson state behind during the Noah, like, yeah, you, right?
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: Some of the guys, well, yeah, I was going to say they don't necessarily will involve themselves in their business,
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: God Aaron Aguilera, I want to wrestle one, didn't he?
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I relate you pretty.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: I relate to pre-edit, yeah.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that point he was already like, you know, like, teaming with Suva, I'm on everything.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, here's the thing.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: And again, this is all just 100% speculation.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: But he was, he was in all Japan in a way that all the other foreigners really weren't.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a little different when they do pre-end.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: air glare a leave to go somewhere else to get a check where this is like just like full-time job, yeah, yeah, right?
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think that's definitely like it probably had gotten closer to Akiyama as well.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, the light of also being like, you know, like some like loyalty to Akiyama, where he's just Akiyama, like open?
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's talking about the problem, like a push as well.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_00]: Akiyama, who's like, I don't give a shit about when you do prayer, I heard Akiyama actually.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm keeping
- 46:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and everything like that.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, so we'll also stay, too, right?
- 46:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_00]: And he was the type is tech partner.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: So that's when we feel like it's probably like, and again, again, because then afterwards, he started getting like pushed a lot more as well.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: So this is also like right, like, it can also just be like a case of like, A, he felt a lot of loyalty to all these like.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: All Japan and the guys that stayed there, but also because like a bunch of people just left that now opens up Sports that might not have been available to him prior to that.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, he was like, okay This is actually like if I stay here There's no chance for me to actually become like, you know a top top team and he did yeah Exactly, he did make the crook like he made absolutely the correct call like a hundred and oh yeah He was I don't think it's he would not
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, he's a great wrestler, but it also takes to a tango and he would fix it.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_00]: He fitted in more than, he fitted in better in all Japan than he would have been wrestle one.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's a tie versus Joe Dorian triple crown match out there.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: But it's nothing spectacular compared to some of the other work that Joe did in all Japan.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_00]: So he didn't miss much, right?
- 47:38[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what was it going to do like just I mean, who would have been that like was he going to fight have like 20 maxes against co-no like
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's the other thing, like a rest of one also never really like push like a foreigner to like the top, right?
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't think they would bring them in, but they would not bring them in, but they would not make them in.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: But not make them like champions, everyone.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, now I'm just looking through it, no, like it's Kono's the first one, then Muto, Kai, Ideki, Kai again.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you know,
- 48:12[SPEAKER_01]: Kaya again, Dikinaba, Kono again, Shino, Soya, Ashino, T-Hok, Inaba, Nakajima, and Last Champion's Casayashi.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: So like he probably would have peaked out at like, tag team guy, like because I assume they'd ran into pre-winner, turtle.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I would assume.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't think he.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: I honestly don't think it would have been out of the wrong possibility that he wins the rest of one title had he gotten, but I just don't think it's been as good a correct Yeah, oh no, no, no, absolutely, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 48:54[SPEAKER_00]: It was right decision.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: I just curious though, you know, but let's be honest, like the whole, like, you can think how you, I think you can take like a bunch of different perspectives and positions on like the whole, like, original Noah split, but like, moot of walking out and forming, like, rest of one was bullshit, like, that was even more of like a direct attempt to just kill all Japan and like, even to Noah walk out was,
- 49:23[SPEAKER_00]: yeah that's definitely true um so any other matches that you could think of on your uh Joe Canon I mean like I said as much as I hate recommending uh a Dylan James match oh like a real vote tag league final if such a fucking good match it's I mean I mean let's be honest here his best work after returning from cancer was in that tag team Dylan James with Dylan James it really was yeah um he
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: He could still go, he could still have like I remember like 2019 carnival, but you got to keep his back like, but at that point he could still have a good like Slaver knocker, but it had to be like 10 minutes or less.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like like the match with like like the one I talked about with Sikamoto, right?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was short.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the kind of match that he had to have as like a singer's guy, but like no, like intact matches.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: He was still absolutely amazing.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, here's Joe Drone versus your Statsu.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's got one reading on Katie Madison.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's a three.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a match.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty disappointing.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to read this from Amari and wait.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this was...
- 50:37[SPEAKER_00]: My God, someone has been going through the Joe matches, because this was just rated a couple of days ago on June 26th.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, that's cute.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: People are going through Joe's career, which is great, but I got to read this here.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty disappointing, actually, the triple crown title between Joe Doreen and Yoshi Tatsu.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_00]: The in-ring action is pretty poor.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing really interesting happened here.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_00]: It felt so long, but the match was just 11 minutes long, which is not in the ground.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_00]: Tell them that's a cork in hall.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_00]: And even with this short match, the pace of the match was very slow.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_00]: Having, there's been a tattoo in the world title challenge, not really serious to be honest.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not going on.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Joe During is okay at that time.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: He had just returned a few months ago after his first cancer.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: But putting him against Yoshi hats to Yoshi hats who can help to have a good title defense.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's not clear.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_00]: The crowd didn't care about this match and I understand that very much because I think the thing about this triple crown match.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: Damn.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a cork and haul from November 9th, 2017, drawing 1,241 fans.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_00]: Which should be ours with that match on top is actually not bad.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's because this is also like the old set of a cork and we could actually draw way more than that.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: But like it's not like today where it's like that's like 200 people off of what like an actual cellode and cork and is.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_00]: Um, interesting, it's really, it's during the Junior Battle of Glory, which, and it's a really like nothing card except for that match, because you've got, listen, this one here.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: Junior Tag Battle of Gorge 2017, actually Kochi, you were more than you scale Kata, if you black spider and black tiger.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: Black Tiger 7, as I click.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Black Tiger 7, yeah, whoever that is, yes, opening match.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_00]: Masino Bufu Chino, someone in Shibura to be Kanshi Sato in Kuitaro Suzuki, oh, we got some all Japan versus Russell one action here because we got Fuminari Abe, Nere Nomura, Yohei Nakajima and Yagi defeating Andy Wu, Jiro Kuro Sio, Koji Doi and Sugotaka Sato.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: Um, uh, one of the great for writing K teams at sushi brewery, yava, and we're starting to kada.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_00]: The feet at sushi aoki and her car was sad at 1445.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_00]: That actually could be the best back to the show.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: That actually sounds actually kind of an, I can't remember.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, oh, this went on the show because we got.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_00]: This is bintically a big Japan offer match because it is Daichi Hashimoto and Hideo.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_00]: Hideo Yoshikawa-tani defeat Daisuke Sakamoto and Takuya Nomura in 1320.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but that one is probably a bad one.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably great.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's probably a fanger.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_00]: The semi made of that is a 10-man tag team match, which is like part of everybody else.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: Come up with a pure 2017 Aussie-pan match.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to this.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: Junakiyama, can't tell me, Farah, Ray, who do you say?
- 53:49[SPEAKER_00]: Talk more, and Zeus defeat Kai, Manibu Soya, Suji Shikawa, Suwama, and to Jirigli.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay, I was in there, okay.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: He blew it as need for the first time.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is when that was.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, but yet, that is basically just the entire rest of the roster in one match.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: When you start getting sigh into jury, it's a certain era of algebra and for sure.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm happy we have moved past that era.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, that's Joe Doring, like, just...
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: It is such a, I mean, it's so tragic.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be especially, he was how long he battled the cancer and he has.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_00]: The family was children and everything like that.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: He, I was never, I never, I'm not a guy that contacts or reaches out to wrestlers like some fans do.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I never did, but he definitely had his relationships with the fans and everything like that.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_00]: He was active in like the real hero circles and everything like that.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently he listened to the flagship, which I'm actually not surprised, but that was
- 54:57[SPEAKER_00]: VOW discord.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I'll get his death.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that doesn't completely surprise me either.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: But it's just a trip back to a different time that had its negatives.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like everything other than Joe in a lot of ways were they could have been.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: Not a big fan of super tiger.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: But he was, I mean, also a very underrated part of holding that company together, especially after the rest of one split.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't think like if he's not there, like that's like a big, big part of like the main of Nc and after promotion kind of messing up like in that period, yeah, especially that couple years between the rest of one split and Kento rising, right?
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's a pretty long thing around there.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing else there in part.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like as we mentioned, the go was handled horribly.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, another, okay, you know, what a, what a mistake, poor go.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_01]: Although, you know, things are, things should have been, we got, we got, we got, we got a, like, redemption from that one at least.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_00]: We are on.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're on like this is what goes what third redemption tour.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, basically.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, there was the, no, maybe that was only a second, but there was obviously like, no, let's just think about it.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the first room redemption was sort of the return to Noah.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_00]: Is that fair to say?
- 56:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_00]: Second redemption was not.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's an all-time.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to end up in the pandemic, yeah, yeah, which is an all-timeer.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean my god if that was during the pandemic.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, people would be very glad to kabashi's ring.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but like like that shot from like the new year's show of him versus Nakajima is like one of my all-time favorite like pictures and all-off wrestling.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's so looking good.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then this is his next redemption tour, which is less about him winning big matches and it seems more about him turning around a whole company.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you know, because he hasn't the trading all the Japan out of it's funk.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's funk, yeah, like death tote pop and light.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yay to like, blunt and I don't know, whatever you want to call it tragedy.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so that is the career of Joe during invested piece.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is, uh, one of those ones like a okay, everything.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_00]: It just really shakes you especially just how long and tragic it was and everything.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, even though he was like, on the back half of his career, like, even if you just go to like,
- 57:50[SPEAKER_00]: right before it like the cancer returned you know he was on the downside is clear but there were still things that i think that he would have done that we'd be talking about if he had helped you to right he would have gone to all Japan and you know
- 58:04[SPEAKER_00]: face kind of again, and maybe he would have started working on Japan more, right?
- 58:07[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he could do that at that time, it impact you probably could have done that.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, that's the thing, like where we were talking about, like right that his body was kind of broken down, he left all Japan, it's like, like taking the pandemic off, like, really did wonders for him, right?
- 58:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you could see it.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was still more in impact, but of course, but I mean, like, look at that on the guy over 40.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, but he was looking better than he was an impact even against I mean like I said like that his magicians dog gals I don't know.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_00]: I can't talk really good.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm good shockingly good And everything like that's things that so as we move on from that Let's talk about this interview with C. O. K. Fakuta and Shupro I'm just using the translation from the squared circle right at that got posted nine dates ago
- 59:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, take that as your, you know, this is a fan translation on scored circles.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, your mileage may vary about about how accurate you think it is.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_00]: But it doesn't seem like there's any like crazy things in there that it's like I don't think that's translated correctly.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_00]: Paul, do you get to look at the summary?
- 59:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it wasn't why I'd go to be quite honest.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't exactly remember like the details of it.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_00]: So, let's just stir off with the, so this is by, oh, Tokyo German.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what I'm talking about, German?
- 59:37[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_00]: Probably a German guy.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_01]: I said need does that mean he's a German guy living in Tokyo?
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: I take it, right?
- 59:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because he translated this.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, but he wrote his own translation summary instead of just posting like, you know,
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, then it might be like a German guy living in Tokyo.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure, next time I'll try to find them.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure it'll be easy.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: In the tone of like 4,000,000 people.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is the size of an orphan, that is the size of an orphan, Ireland.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_00]: So according to the crew, after nine years of losses, they were in the black
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_00]: Now that's interesting because the turning point was the older wardrobe on March 30, 2024, where you may as I take the triple crown from Katahiko Nakajima.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_00]: It was said that the new era of young Al Jepatin had arrived and it started to show good attendance.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_00]: So are they basically of racing the fact that Nakajima popped a tetanus?
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like yes, like why months before that.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the kind of our So it's fair to say that you were that oh, like he's not coming back I was gonna say Dr. Jiva put that company made that company profitable kind of sort of but you can't it's funny because it because it appears that this is literally because we were like
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right, because of fingers like before, I was like, Nekadji, my amazing wrestler, terrible draw.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then we were kind of eating crow during this whole, like, all Japan run right ahead, but we were like, okay, maybe we were wrong about him not being a good draw.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then, no, it seems like this was just a, like, case of just lightning striking correctly for once, where it was just this perfect blend of him drawing and being great in the ring.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then he became a nothing draw, like the moment he left the company.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, I mean, it was it, well, I mean, you also have to think about like, um, like, the circumstances of, like, you know, no, no, not why he left.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_00]: A bunch of people wanting to, like, have to get into it.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_00]: And, but like, Nakajima also played a perfect character while he was there too.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, no, no, no, I mean, as much as the inokiism or exec style blew up in his face, like, do you remember how we all the crowd?
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I was in the building.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, his entry is so incredible.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, it's still my favorite match I've ever seen live.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: It probably will be for like that.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_01]: It needs to be something really amazing to like get like become better than now.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_00]: This is just as for Nak Katsuhiko here.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting thrown under the bus for we could also pay him profitable.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, to be fair, he did get them sued by the Yanooki family.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, almost, yeah.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_01]: He did at least get them a season to assist.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: But it was an amazing storyline that popped houses.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_00]: Although, I think it's probably actually a pretty good thing that Ansai was the guy that he dropped the title, too, because that actually sort of kept the momentum going because you had the fresh young star, instead of the... No, that was absolutely the right call.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that would start even though the match is very weird.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, next paragraph here, Fukuda has watched HAPW since he was a child and does not want to perish with him in charge.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're a big part of Japanese culture would be lost, I agree.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of doing events at big places like many, you might want to do or try to double profits, you want to all depend to grow a bit by bit, he says.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you raise prizes and try to get all the money your customer has, they will stop coming to your events.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_00]: A long relationship to your customers is much better according to the coup d'et.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's Japanese style, business thinking that does not exist in the West,
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, no, absolutely, it's not.
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, it's like the maximum amount of money and like a short period of time and who cares what happens after that because I've probably gone to see you as I don't care.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I think this is an interesting comment.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_00]: Usually, Al Jepan was a company running a top down form at the currently his bottom up.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_00]: Usually an employee will come to Cuda and ask for permission to do something and he gives the OK.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and then it talks about if you go for a profit maximization, everyone will have to obey orders from the top and the organization becomes paralyzed.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now, all workers and employees can give 100% of their potential according to Fukueda.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_00]: He does not see profit as the main goal, but customer satisfaction.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_00]: They see something that the ticket prize, they will surely come again.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_00]: Now, my question is, does he mean that this is a philosophical turn of more recent vintage, or he's always run the company like this?
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: It is a curious question, right?
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think it does seem like it is a bit of a change, right, because we had that kind of, like I do think he has changed as a human, like I think, yes, it is of his wife, right, like, was very much like an inflection point there, because I think all Japan prior that is run very differently from the way it's run now, and then you had that brief intermed so where he kind of went, I mean, he has set himself that he kind of went
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and he was literally mad with grief, essentially.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_00]: There was a mini-acidus.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: And all Japan basically, like, not working with anybody because they pissed off everybody.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we still don't know what he actually did, that pissed off everybody else.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think I was, you know, key thing.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the D&O key thing.
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_00]: It was the timing, is this thing.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_00]: It couldn't be a combination of a nokey thing and Fuku does a radical hate.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_00]: And we got all of these together, right?
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_01]: because then you also have like the whole like relationship with like actress girls getting a non-sort of nowhere.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I think actually like the Subama Exodus is because of that because then it was like, well, no, I want to like, yeah, if you want to listen to people on your, yeah, if you want to yeah, if you want to have a solution to be to be the focal point of the women in all Japan and everything like that.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but the other question is, well, this is the question of how one runs a wrestling company, Paul, because, uh, I think there's some people in that company that, uh, when they, uh, do the wrong thing, they, uh, do stupid things.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's the other thing I was thinking of.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_01]: They were really, really like, okay, in theory, I am very, like,
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_01]: I do think it's a good idea to kind of let people do their thing.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_00]: But when you talk about this in regards to Go Shiozaki, very good, great, amazing.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's awesome.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about this, it's like, you may eryagi, lesser.
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, not less, less good idea, yeah.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_01]: Because then he's going to want to do comedy.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_01]: But again, I mean, there's only so many, I mean, he's saying that people from below come to him with ideas.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_01]: But it's obviously not that everybody's ideas are equal.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, that's a thing.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_01]: If Shota Kofuji comes to him with an idea and like, can't you me a hara comes to him with an idea?
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: And you can only do one of them.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_01]: Then you're going to do can't you me a hara's idea?
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think Hokato or more he came into his office wearing that horse mask?
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_01]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yeah, I agree.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_00]: He probably does the horse master's hilarious.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_00]: I laughed immediately the first time I saw it, but that it became Yeah, that it just kept doing it.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I want to bring up Hogatoa Mori and again in a second.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_00]: So if there was one big next goal, it would be to completely sell out cork in older ward in your Yogi second gymnasium with no available tickets left.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you can do that in cork in these tips.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, in places bigger than this, especially attractive attraction of all Japan and the effect of having the biggest heavy weights in the toughest fights might get a bit lost.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, but you'll run them if you could.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh, yeah.
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_00]: Fascinating.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_00]: paragraph here.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_00]: There were some scandals this year which hurt the image of Alchipan and there are especially like talking about stuff outside the squared circle.
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_00]: But Fukuda sees the main focus of the AJPW in the rig and loves to see the fans go home with a smile talking about those Mac about the matches.
- 1:08:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now Paul, what could it be talking about here?
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, my connection actually cut off for a second.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, what could he possibly be talking about here?
- 1:08:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's sorry.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_01]: With the quote, my headphones are.
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, it was really.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_00]: Does you hear the thing about the scandals?
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that there were a bunch of scandals.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_00]: No way.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_00]: So here's what there were some scandals this year, which hurt the image of all Japan.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_01]: And there are fans that especially like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_00]: All this led to it unexpectedly great results in odor war recently with over 3,000 fans.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_00]: You met Anza as participation in the back for it for an Amazon Prime.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_00]: And at great and intense championship carnival and the work of the roster, including the foreign workers, Odyssey, Zion, and Talos.
- 1:09:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess Fukuda must have put them over in the interview, which is interesting.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, they're not running the really big place like other promotions, and those may laugh a bit about the small scale of Japan, but he doesn't see anyone as a
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_00]: as all of Japan's unique and what it does.
- 1:09:51[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I would say that's mostly true.
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_00]: Fakura hopes after nine years of losses they can have 10 profitable years.
- 1:09:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're in succession with the old giant Bobo motto.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_00]: The fan is the most important sponsor.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_00]: I take that also as he's not going to sell.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, unless he gets like, I mean, I'm sure if like some company comes in and makes him like a good offer, he's not going to say no, but it doesn't look like it's actively looking to sell.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, look.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_00]: So this is the interesting question.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to, I'm going to pick it to this part.
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen Anzaz, all these photo shoots he's doing now?
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I assume they're very much to gear trots like female audience, generally.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Which is a good thing.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I guess my question is, how long can you have him just being like a guy that is challenging for the audience to take titles?
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm good.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:10:56[SPEAKER_00]: You've learned that he should be moving up the card?
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_01]: it is it is something that I actually threw around like when I recorded last week as well and I'm like it's this actually the correct decision or not like I've been because you can also make the argument of like you know sticking your cores like if you have a story in mind to not wanting to jeopardize that long storm story for this like
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_01]: short-term gain, right?
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe it works out if you just keep him in like you know that he has a belt around his waist and isn't like a relatively prominent spot on the cart, but
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's risky, that's for sure.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you could definitely, it's like a thing.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, you just push them straight to the triple crown, right?
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_01]: You just really cap it, like you prematurely do it before you're even planning to do it.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_01]: And you just really capitalizing on this popularity, that you got out of the show.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_01]: But then, obviously, you have to scrap whatever plans you had for the triple crown prior to that.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and well also brings the question is are you trying to pop like what would be a record four or five thousand people at your you'll get the end of the year, yeah, which probably makes more sense if like if you can keep him hot until then that's the challenge there, right.
- 1:12:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it just feels like that's where it's going because Can't tell is that
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_00]: seven defenses and I believe he said he wants to break the record, which is he holds it 10.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_00]: And well, given the way that Al Jepan books now, it's not going to be hard, but he's not losing to Rena Yabe.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's not losing to Rena Yabe, especially in Kobe, yeah, with all respect to the people of Kobe, but it's Kobe, some of the halls, not like if it were, I've been there.
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_01]: I've been there.
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's not really an arena you want to do like title
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_00]: If they were in the background, I would actually increase the chances of that.
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they'd be completely honest.
- 1:12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so he's got seven defenses.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_00]: He could easily get to, he could break the record and then go into your yogi and having already said, I could end dropping it to Anzai.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_00]: And you've also had that story going on.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_00]: So do you just play out?
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm kind of, I was a little like getting a little worried like what are you doing with Anzard, but maybe you kind of just wanted to do this.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's the other thing, like right, let me put like the all Asia tag titles on him and then he has something to do until then.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's kind of what they've already done with from previously, right, when they put him with rising high at all.
- 1:13:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but here, okay, I think that if you are making
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_00]: Anxiety will hard-throb.
- 1:13:41[SPEAKER_00]: You should have just kept the team with my atoe.
- 1:13:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then the problem, obviously, because then this is where I'm thinking that the at least.
- 1:13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Look, it's a whole lot of the modulation title.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Cofruity is also another like.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_00]: Good-looking young guy, but he doesn't have the Emo or What do I add for lack of a better term show you so you can definitely make like way better like footro西baiting Like books with like Anza and Hayato, then you can with like Anza and the food they did think of their photos She's together.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, no, I mean that it's specifically like I saw like the the books that they put out like that.
- 1:14:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's exactly what they were doing
- 1:14:21[SPEAKER_01]: but that's also where I'm thinking they did actually, you know, throw out their plans for like the all-asher, like tag titles.
- 1:14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because obviously the plan there was that, like, you know, a higher toe and at ski, like, wind the bells after this, like, long, like, thing where like, Dragon Gate held the bells and all of that.
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_01]: And then it would be weird if at like if you don't capitalize on the answer moment of at all and he just like loses the titles.
- 1:14:49[SPEAKER_01]: But then it's also weird like what did you just do this like long thing with higher tone at ski and then for them to immediately lose the belt.
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that's also the reason why they couldn't put like higher tone and anxiety back together.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_01]: because Hayato was already wrapped up in this whole team with like, Adsky, Ayagi, that they were planning to like then rematch with the dragon gate guys.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I think he ended up with Kofugini.
- 1:15:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because they were like watching.
- 1:15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Because it might also be in a thing where like maybe they wanted to actually answer an in-way and an in-way getting injured, derailed that plan.
- 1:15:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's actually a good point.
- 1:15:25[SPEAKER_00]: I could see, again, in a way I think in Anzai as a team would have been much more interesting vibes.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_00]: For a given their rivalry, that was from last year and everything.
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and again, they're very clearly wanted to push NOA and all of that.
- 1:15:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I know it was basically, and probably Worst was quite literally a case of like, well, who are we going to put them with?
- 1:15:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because we don't want to put them with you, my air,
- 1:15:49[SPEAKER_01]: higher to and I don't think they want to put them before and for like storyline reasons and at that point whose left really that they could team them with to go for the allator titles that would make sense it isn't really anybody left like you're not going to put them if I have a guy
- 1:16:06[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want to put them off go.
- 1:16:08[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want to like decide to still make any sense.
- 1:16:11[SPEAKER_01]: So really like the more I think about it, I'm more I'm like convinced like the plan was to put them a free or in a way and they had to pivot to Qafuji because it was just quite literally either Yano or Qafuji and I'm glad you went with Qafuji instead of Yano.
- 1:16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just don't see them.
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_00]: also doing the time change I do though to be completely honest with you.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's confused, but that's still like, I mean, obviously it's not going to get pinned in that, but I think that's definitely getting risky of like, you know, of like him that like potentially derailing his momentum.
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, honestly, he should have pinned to Wama in that magic cork and instead of go.
- 1:16:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:16:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I get like again, it's one of those things where it's like, you know, you stick with what your original plan was, which was very clearly like, like, go getting that win.
- 1:17:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:17:02[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_00]: I guess, look, if you in in professional wrestling booking, you generally should stick to your plan, but sometimes you got to swore ever pivot when you have to pivot.
- 1:17:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Ultimately, pros and cons, you do your swat analysis.
- 1:17:22[SPEAKER_00]: You just took the story in this case, right?
- 1:17:24[SPEAKER_00]: You just make sure that you get and side of those magazine covers, which I actually, and I just posted a new magazine cover that he's on five hours ago, and it's Instagram.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_00]: From a era, it's AERA, AERA, AERA, AERA,
- 1:17:46[SPEAKER_00]: Ira or whatever you want to I don't know what the how that's pronounced in English, but he's there looking looking very handsome in a pin straight suit.
- 1:17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's actually also something that I talked about as well last week was about them right like keeping like giving the wind to go and everything.
- 1:18:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, again, we have no evidence of that yet, but like just based on the way the reactions were during that match, right?
- 1:18:13[SPEAKER_01]: We're like early on.
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was very clear that like a lot of people were there only for like Yuma and Zai.
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:18:21[SPEAKER_01]: But by the end of that match, at least it felt like a good chunk of them were all cheering for Go Shilzaki.
- 1:18:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm actually really quite, because all Japan put on such a good, current control.
- 1:18:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's the thing.
- 1:18:33[SPEAKER_01]: The whole thing of those people are coming back, right?
- 1:18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like because they just saw an amazing show.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_01]: And it's probably a decent percentage of them that are just going to be like, okay, maybe next time they don't come back as like just to see ends, I may be they come back as just like all Japan fans.
- 1:18:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, that's clearly part of the strategy and what the long-term play in all of this is.
- 1:18:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, how could it not?
- 1:18:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's the same.
- 1:18:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, of course, anything.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_00]: But, I mean, in all Japan's case, they've been very good since Anzai has become a bit of a heartthrob.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's good there, right?
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_00]: At least they are putting on, like some of the best shows they have in years, right?
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just in terms of what they now have new eyeballs on the product.
- 1:19:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's the strength there.
- 1:19:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think I don't like, I don't know, like, uh, there's always a part of me in my gut or that says, Oh, well, look, you just pivot and you just stick everything on on him, you know, because yeah, by now he's the celebrity crossover and everything like that, right?
- 1:19:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, for sure, for sure.
- 1:19:38[SPEAKER_01]: But then it's, yeah, I think there is, there is a thing to say about that, it's just that it will be a major disruption.
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, yeah, I mean, it is kind of the thing, right?
- 1:19:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's like short-term gain versus potential long-term gain, right?
- 1:19:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like you can definitely like short-term, book him in a triple-chrom match, have him like pop a house with that, but then it kind of like just fucks up whatever plan you, because it's also like,
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to pop that house, then you also need to be able to book a big enough building on short notice.
- 1:20:09[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 1:20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like because you obviously weren't planning for like a big house like this.
- 1:20:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't really have any like major buildings lined up.
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like you really want to like waste that number on like a curriculum where you're going to sell out or get close to
- 1:20:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I'm thinking maybe it is just the smarter thing to just stick with it.
- 1:20:37[SPEAKER_01]: Hope that you can keep them hot for like the next six months and then really pop a big number in your yogi.
- 1:20:45[SPEAKER_01]: Especially now because you're up against like head to head basically.
- 1:20:49[SPEAKER_01]: against Noah, so you really need a match for that show for people that people really want to watch because you have another big show that is essentially running head to head with you against you.
- 1:21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it is next turn over.
- 1:21:03[SPEAKER_01]: It isn't Yokohama, but it's still like a case of like, like for example, all of the like traveling fans will have to make a choice.
- 1:21:10[SPEAKER_01]: Do I go to Noah or
- 1:21:17[SPEAKER_00]: Question for you.
- 1:21:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you are staying near the Tokyo dome, what's easier to get to?
- 1:21:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yoko Hama, Bootai, or Odo Ward?
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think if you take to express train technically Yoko Hama, but... Yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:32[SPEAKER_01]: So the problem with Odo Ward as well, so I actually haven't never been to the Boontai, so I don't know how bad that bogus.
- 1:21:37[SPEAKER_01]: The great problem with Odo Ward is that you have to fucking like walk for like quite a long time from the station to actually get there.
- 1:21:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, so if you're asking me which one like to win with what type are they not about this year or are they in your yogi?
- 1:21:53[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you were in your yogi?
- 1:21:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm sorry they're in your yogi.
- 1:21:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm mistaken.
- 1:21:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like if you're staying next to like if you're staying close to like the if you're staying close to the to get on me.
- 1:22:04[SPEAKER_01]: I know you go to your your game.
- 1:22:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's so much closer.
- 1:22:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's like night and day.
- 1:22:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's like like 10, 15 minutes like travel.
- 1:22:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like it is way more convenient, like if you're staying in Central Tokyo, it's like no doubt, like your yoga is like much either to get to, like you're like to give people an idea of like where that arena is located.
- 1:22:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's basically like, it's like you can draw like a basically like an even side of triangle between like that arena to Shibuya Scramble and Harajuku.
- 1:22:44[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 1:22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Right, like it's central central Tokyo.
- 1:22:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah.
- 1:22:49[SPEAKER_01]: So no, like the, in terms of convenience, all Japan has a massive edge of a no and that regards.
- 1:22:54[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it's still like if, let's say, no, somehow cobbles together like a better cart and you need some, like, you can't just rely on the fact that it's more convenient for people to go there because if the other promotion just has a much better cart and people might still go, yeah, but I'd rather, maybe it's less convenient for me, but I'd rather go and watch the better show.
- 1:23:13[SPEAKER_01]: Right, but if all things are equal and you have equally good cards, then yeah, no, all just like no doubt I'm going to all Japan like not even a debate.
- 1:23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I mean, realistically, what are your possible double beta bets on that show like it's got to be Osawa versus in a mirror or Osawa versus Kyle.
- 1:23:42[SPEAKER_00]: in a more versus kill me, right?
- 1:23:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's not, yeah, it's one of those.
- 1:23:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I, I, I, I less, um, a want to say it makes a shocking return in jumps.
- 1:23:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not that like might happen, right?
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's, I mean, it's not going to be back, like during a summer.
- 1:23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, because it's still like book for a bunch of stuff in Europe.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm actually going to a show next weekend, I think.
- 1:24:08[SPEAKER_01]: When, like, when he's actually challenging for the GWF title,
- 1:24:11[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, so I might see him when like a I don't think he's winning, but I might see him Win like a full championship Right Yeah, yeah, like yeah, like there's like I don't think my future any of the old guys are gonna be the main event I don't think it's gonna be can't out and and uh
- 1:24:32[SPEAKER_00]: the WWE relationship seems to be dead.
- 1:24:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it's basically, I mean, or bent, it's not the word.
- 1:24:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:24:41[SPEAKER_01]: Because WWE is moving to Netflix in the fall.
- 1:24:44[SPEAKER_01]: So at that point, that relationship is just, like I think it's probably already over, but it's definitely over by that.
- 1:24:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I just don't know what no one's going to have thought well, it's good that they're running between guys that really kind of think of this.
- 1:25:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's such a weird choice to like, I mean, it's probably that it just couldn't get like a good building for January 1st.
- 1:25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Eric, is my guess?
- 1:25:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, big.
- 1:25:13[SPEAKER_01]: didn't have a mean event that could feel, you know, I mean, I assume the Buddha can just have something on December 31st.
- 1:25:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:25:23[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, yeah.
- 1:25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:25:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a big event there.
- 1:25:27[SPEAKER_01]: Look at, but I'm also thinking that they couldn't get anything like they couldn't get a good building on January 1st and that's why he moved it to December 31st instead.
- 1:25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because it doesn't make sense to like move days there.
- 1:25:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean then again, if Donald before, right, like in 2024, when he ran it, January 2nd instead, but I'm still suspecting that I was a similar case where they couldn't get to Buddha-kun for whatever reason, so they like move days essentially.
- 1:25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, that's going to be the question going on moving on from there and all the things going on.
- 1:26:01[SPEAKER_00]: I will just give some very, very, very brief thoughts about the recent shows because I went on the last episode.
- 1:26:09[SPEAKER_00]: But probably I've got to ask you question, did you watch that Monday magic show or the paper view?
- 1:26:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:26:15[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you did.
- 1:26:16[SPEAKER_00]: You actually, I couldn't necessarily pay for it.
- 1:26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Not because I can't afford it.
- 1:26:19[SPEAKER_00]: Could I justify pay you spending like 30, 3600 yen or whatever, or let's show it.
- 1:26:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, it's, uh, it's too much.
- 1:26:30[SPEAKER_01]: No, like definitely don't spend money on that, but like my final verdict on the show was basically,
- 1:26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's definitely not worth paying.
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_01]: For it's definitely not worth paying the paper of your price for, but whenever it gets uploaded to like Russell universe as a non-paper view, like, yeah, you can, and you have nothing else to do on like a weekend or whatever, and you want like something to just watch.
- 1:26:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's fine, it's perfectly acceptable for that.
- 1:26:58[SPEAKER_00]: So for Noah, I really enjoyed the tag league finals.
- 1:27:03[SPEAKER_00]: What can I say?
- 1:27:05[SPEAKER_00]: I was so down on the good brothers and that would seem like they're gone.
- 1:27:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, not a gun.
- 1:27:13[SPEAKER_00]: But like it always bizarre world, the good brothers come in, they're good, and they just leave.
- 1:27:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm like, please, I want more good brothers, not more good brothers matches.
- 1:27:24[SPEAKER_00]: You're like the first person ever to say that.
- 1:27:27[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but yeah, I was very, very down on that.
- 1:27:32[SPEAKER_00]: GC title match against Ada and Dragon Bean, quite good.
- 1:27:37[SPEAKER_00]: not like super high-end or anything, but I quite enjoyed it.
- 1:27:40[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, it goes up there on the list of best ain't it performances in Delaware because he was motivated.
- 1:27:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:27:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it was literally a song.
- 1:27:47[SPEAKER_01]: If he's not motivated there, like where the fuck else is he gonna be motivated.
- 1:27:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:27:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:27:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:27:51[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's yeah.
- 1:27:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny.
- 1:27:55[SPEAKER_00]: Mr. effort himself.
- 1:27:58[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 1:28:00[SPEAKER_00]: We stuff I enjoyed.
- 1:28:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:28:01[SPEAKER_00]: I like my food.
- 1:28:01[SPEAKER_00]: You first called over what it was.
- 1:28:03[SPEAKER_00]: The tag kind of match.
- 1:28:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 1:28:06[SPEAKER_00]: It exceeded my expectations.
- 1:28:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's in Max versus night on Bushy and I'm glad that that experiment is over.
- 1:28:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:28:17[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was long overdue.
- 1:28:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, wasn't a very good right?
- 1:28:21[SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't.
- 1:28:23[SPEAKER_00]: How much of what he did?
- 1:28:25[SPEAKER_00]: The no fans hate night on because he's watched or because they don't want him.
- 1:28:31[SPEAKER_00]: in their company, even if he was good.
- 1:28:33[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely a combination of both.
- 1:28:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think if he was good, like there was, I think he would still get boot.
- 1:28:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think like all of his like antics would still be treated as like healer.
- 1:28:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I also think there's just also a very real element of people, just not wanting him there because he's just not very good anymore.
- 1:28:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:28:53[SPEAKER_00]: And him being pushed as hard as he has been.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the other thing, like he just comes in and is immediately like pushed like the top of the promotion.
- 1:29:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then the main event of that show.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_00]: She hastress to three and I don't, I mean, I like it.
- 1:29:08[SPEAKER_00]: I actually think it's the weakest taste.
- 1:29:11[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of that so far, it'd be good for you.
- 1:29:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:29:14[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's what I take as well.
- 1:29:15[SPEAKER_00]: Not bad, uh, Osawa, I think we know where this is going.
- 1:29:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I know, it's very obvious that like this title is over now.
- 1:29:22[SPEAKER_00]: So what was the point of that?
- 1:29:24[SPEAKER_00]: Even though it was good, people were still scratching their heads.
- 1:29:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was quite literally just like, to convince him to come in in the first place.
- 1:29:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like he probably was like, I'm only coming like, I'm getting a title.
- 1:29:36[SPEAKER_00]: He, why, I don't even know if he said that I, that you, he said, I don't want to come in.
- 1:29:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then they uploaded the title.
- 1:29:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
- 1:29:43[SPEAKER_01]: fair, that's probably more like, how that went.
- 1:29:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you know, it's still just like, truly, like the question that becomes like, why did you have to bring and train haste?
- 1:29:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:29:54[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I've liked this mattress.
- 1:29:56[SPEAKER_01]: I like this mattress all of that, but it is just kind of a bad question.
- 1:30:01[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot think of a telearranged.
- 1:30:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's more baffling yet.
- 1:30:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because there's some baffling telearranged that are just shit.
- 1:30:08[SPEAKER_00]: because that's what hard baffling because this person should have never been given the title, but I've never seen a tough ring that's so baffling and like a decent quality.
- 1:30:19[SPEAKER_01]: against the guy that hasn't really done anything in years prior to this.
- 1:30:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like his run and like New Japan was really, really bad by the end.
- 1:30:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:30:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then like, though, he very clearly is like putting in the effort here.
- 1:30:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, I don't even like the fact that like this was like the weakest match of the tighter in, I also very much would like put on his opponent there as well and not even have.
- 1:30:43[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:30:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I would put that on on
- 1:30:47[SPEAKER_01]: on endo rather than then haste there because it was really like endo just kind of like stumbling around throwing for the most of it and just kind of doing stuff.
- 1:30:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, that's pretty much my thoughts on Noah and as far as all Japan goes, well, I didn't even
- 1:31:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's great.
- 1:31:05[SPEAKER_00]: Can't remember much to add that's already been set on this in other podcasts.
- 1:31:10[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 1:31:11[SPEAKER_00]: Other than mine, we talked about Anzai, right?
- 1:31:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:31:17[SPEAKER_00]: So let's close off real quick then with some previews, shall we?
- 1:31:21[SPEAKER_00]: We've got, let's see here, we've got to be shown the 18th of this Sunday.
- 1:31:27[SPEAKER_00]: We got eight of us had a part of you'd said it.
- 1:31:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean it's not like we're a bit past like the hiatus low, kind of me even everything, right?
- 1:31:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think yeah, I think eight are going to win.
- 1:31:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it's not really much of a point, like Hayata isn't getting pushed anymore.
- 1:31:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's really no reason to, like, like, I think this is going to lead to, like, A-ta versus, like, Dikey or Dishima eventually.
- 1:31:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's, that would be great.
- 1:31:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a good way to go.
- 1:31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, okay, uh, given what Noah's now starts to draw, you know, I'm working on this show, does Ada and Hayata, seemingly, I'm talking to the card.
- 1:32:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it is a Sunday, at least.
- 1:32:08[SPEAKER_01]: It is something like, because the other ones are like, well, like, mid-week hurricanes, but yeah, I don't.
- 1:32:13[SPEAKER_01]: I like it.
- 1:32:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I could see this drawing like a similar number to what they were drawing like the last couple of times.
- 1:32:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I, I still don't think it's going to fall under a thousand, but it's not so not really like one really.
- 1:32:28[SPEAKER_01]: I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't, I can
- 1:32:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so yeah, like that's why I think they're still going to draw well because it is actually pretty nice, like yeah, it's a lot to have and then you've got a clear title preview mask got Shane haste and sorry ever so Zawa and so Gura, which I think you just weird I don't know how they're going to book this I feel like this and also haste not taste it taste like teaming with its like stable mates.
- 1:33:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well,
- 1:33:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think a certain somewhat is just chilling in L.A.
- 1:33:19[SPEAKER_00]: I hope it's in his card.
- 1:33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's nothing to do.
- 1:33:24[SPEAKER_01]: So he's just like now.
- 1:33:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sitting this remote.
- 1:33:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:33:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then we've got kind of key in me versus Alejandro.
- 1:33:31[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, versus Vasacitemia, which again.
- 1:33:35[SPEAKER_00]: And it could be good.
- 1:33:35[SPEAKER_00]: It could be, I don't know, it's like I can't.
- 1:33:37[SPEAKER_00]: I can't make any confident predictions of this company, especially when you're in 2008 skies and this thing.
- 1:33:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then you got a six band tag that does look decent though, because it's more a food G in and more in a hotout, versus Kenno, because of your key food G in her roto, so Rria, so that could be good.
- 1:33:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then you got a three-way tag match to get everyone else on the show.
- 1:33:56[SPEAKER_00]: So you got Amazka, Dekio de Schema, and Yuta Koyanaki, versus Super Crazy Kid Leico,
- 1:34:04[SPEAKER_00]: strange.
- 1:34:05[SPEAKER_00]: Patiske, Alpha Wolf and Jun Masaoka, and then a six-way attack match, Tetsuya, Endo, Dragon, Bane, and Taka-Hashi versus Tetsuya, Naito, Bushi, and Ruse.
- 1:34:18[SPEAKER_00]: So that is that.
- 1:34:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then we've got a show on the 18th, which is sort of the big one, in X-Hall, Osaka, in X-Hall 5.
- 1:34:29[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's
- 1:34:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's a, it's a, it's, it looks more like a convention center than anything else.
- 1:34:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's like, it's a far out there as well.
- 1:34:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm looking at the map.
- 1:34:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look.
- 1:34:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, it looks to be on a, uh, a man made island in the bay.
- 1:34:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, uh, in Osaka bay.
- 1:34:50[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I don't know how many tickets they've got.
- 1:34:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, but I would assume that you could still get like, maybe I could get 2000 people in their
- 1:35:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, that's this is a interesting card because Paul is never going to follow on to his bad habits because we'll tell him about some of the match on the show.
- 1:35:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, made it then, I was going to be shooting his versus Osawa.
- 1:35:12[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about this, we think we know it's going.
- 1:35:14[SPEAKER_00]: National title match, Mara Fuji versus Kenel, I think Kenel will get something good out of Mara Fuji.
- 1:35:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, I mean, Mara Fuji, Mara Fuji was my number free vote for most improved of the half.
- 1:35:27[SPEAKER_01]: And the Omakatsu words.
- 1:35:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, he's redeeming himself after the Kenta debacle.
- 1:35:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I voted for him.
- 1:35:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:35:37[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and then you got, uh, Jo Netsu Max, uh, versus Masekidimi and Takashi Sugura and one participant determination ladder match, oh God, how you, I did not realize this was happening here.
- 1:35:49[SPEAKER_00]: I missed them, missed them, missed this.
- 1:35:50[SPEAKER_00]: Tatusuke Alpawop, June Masa, okay.
- 1:35:53[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Oda Shimana, Masuka.
- 1:35:54[SPEAKER_01]: How do you say that one?
- 1:35:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's set that one up on the curtain as well.
- 1:35:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean they set the like ladder match up already where it was basically it was going to be dike or the shima versus like team 2,000 x and then basically like at the curtain show like a maxa like ran in after like or the shima versus like team 2,000 x and then they set it up that like a maxa is going to be in the
- 1:36:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I really don't know what they're doing with this one and it's like I feel like somebody's gonna turn But like I don't want like either Oders SEMA or a max at the turn.
- 1:36:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think there would be very fucking stupid Could they add someone to this before the show?
- 1:36:34[SPEAKER_01]: Happened I mean maybe yeah, so like even it out even more potentially I mean if they're gonna do it.
- 1:36:41[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna do it at the curriculum
- 1:36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Alpha Wolf's winning this, right?
- 1:36:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, but like the problem is the entire few to build around Diky or Shima and Tadasuke.
- 1:36:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like Alpha Wolf is kind of just a bit player in this.
- 1:36:54[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but who do you really want in the animal body?
- 1:36:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, you want like Alpha Wolf and he's like because he's like the only like heavyweight.
- 1:37:02[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's the other weird thing.
- 1:37:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, okay, are the other ones that aren't like winning here, like not gonna be in the end one at all then.
- 1:37:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:37:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:37:14[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, no, it's a very weird, weird match that they've built that I don't understand.
- 1:37:18[SPEAKER_01]: What the point here is.
- 1:37:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then we got GHC Junior Heavyweight Takede of Championship that's been our 100 versus Jackie Funky Came and Rita, now we're talking.
- 1:37:28[SPEAKER_00]: Should be good.
- 1:37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, that one, that one I'm really looking forward to.
- 1:37:32[SPEAKER_01]: Which actually also like thinking, so does this mean, like,
- 1:37:38[SPEAKER_01]: Dragon Gate is going to work more with no going forward than all Japan, but yeah, we'll see.
- 1:37:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm not sure because we'll talk about these all Japan cards in a minute.
- 1:37:47[SPEAKER_00]: And there's an interesting guest on them that I hope we see more of in all Japan.
- 1:37:51[SPEAKER_00]: But so when I talk about what no one could back into with bad habits, the final two maps are to see that over this kind of QBA, and you're shaky in a more or versus casual, you keep food gna.
- 1:38:01[SPEAKER_00]: Paul, like, the young guys have to go over and both of these matches.
- 1:38:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.
- 1:38:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, although I feel like Kaito will be, well, then again, you never know of Kaito.
- 1:38:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, this night of thing is quickly entering diminishing returns and like, I'm sorry, but Fujiya should be putting over in a morning.
- 1:38:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I mean, I'm not just looking at the chances, I could kind of make a case for nighto, but if you was healthier,
- 1:38:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then like, they run this back in the end one or something, but not in his current condition.
- 1:38:37[SPEAKER_00]: And in a more, there's no, there's no argument for.
- 1:38:41[SPEAKER_01]: No reason why he shouldn't when, you know, in a more option.
- 1:38:43[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely win.
- 1:38:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I said, I think we're going to go back to like 20 20, I know.
- 1:38:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a nice running wild.
- 1:38:52[SPEAKER_00]: So let's see.
- 1:38:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, hopefully not.
- 1:38:55[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:38:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then so we got some company.
- 1:38:57[SPEAKER_00]: upcoming of the pan shows they don't have to show again until the 11th and then it's like one show we got to that.
- 1:39:03[SPEAKER_00]: The show the 11th is uh it's at Yokohama Radiant Hall, which they don't run very often.
- 1:39:09[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a Yokohama Radiant Hall style card, but there's actually some really good stuff on this.
- 1:39:16[SPEAKER_00]: So we got Reiki Honda versus Sago Tachipana.
- 1:39:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:39:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then we got Hoko Tolamore
- 1:39:23[SPEAKER_00]: uh... vs. kuma russian u a ok i mean that's a sleeper vatch actually that is yeah that is actually a kumatra uh... now is are we gonna get more i was i was sake in all japan i don't know he's someone that i so they should bring in in the past of course a ok they got to keep looking him no question about that then we got a uh... junior heavyweight or pwf junior title and we'll take a title uh... preview match
- 1:39:49[SPEAKER_00]: uh... jute set of race that are in mr. side of the rookie doing this is discolored motor the deck is a zuki indantamara should be good uh... we uh... you may or yagi versus the sushi match so that could be good if uh... they want to be all till uma uh... and then we got go to yuzaki in yasi tapu yano if you're wondering why that man is in this company
- 1:40:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, versus, versus Tatarushino and Masaki Mochizuki.
- 1:40:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's just a great question.
- 1:40:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is actually really cool.
- 1:40:26[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see more Mochizuki and Mochizuki Jr. To be completely honest in all Japan.
- 1:40:31[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:40:33[SPEAKER_00]: Although I think, in a way, is injury might have kept Mochizuki Jr. Yeah.
- 1:40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:40:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then the main event is, this is the semi-main too.
- 1:40:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I'm like, maybe more just a key we'll be sticking around.
- 1:40:49[SPEAKER_00]: But the main event's Kento, Anzai, and Shota Kufuji versus Renabe, At-Skia, Yaki, and Ruzing, Hayado.
- 1:40:57[SPEAKER_00]: To obviously preview both of those title matches, I think you should have Fuku Kufuji got a surprise roll up on one of the juniors.
- 1:41:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, how it's gonna build the heat for this match?
- 1:41:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, like, especially if you have so few shows as well, that's the other thing.
- 1:41:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's only like, like two shows more before the thing.
- 1:41:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, no, one, that's the show before.
- 1:41:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, that would jump up the next week to Sunday, July 19th, another 11th, 30am, cork and show, which I believe is like almost all sold out now.
- 1:41:30[SPEAKER_00]: There's only the South River, I think there's no standing remaining tickets, a lot.
- 1:41:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm reading this correctly, which is, hey, you're going to run with it, you know.
- 1:41:42[SPEAKER_00]: So opening singles match, Chotaro Shino versus Yasutaku Yano, and then another eight-man tag, Junior Tag, Dan Tamara, Hokutomori, Sigo-Tachi, Bono, all right, Leon De Oro.
- 1:41:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say about this.
- 1:41:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to be shoot trash, you can look at the All-Japan channel on the voice of rustling disco.
- 1:42:04[SPEAKER_00]: I am arrived at it.
- 1:42:06[SPEAKER_00]: It is impressive how quickly that would not be figured out.
- 1:42:10[SPEAKER_00]: That was figured out so.
- 1:42:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like it's even a big name.
- 1:42:14[SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, exactly.
- 1:42:15[SPEAKER_01]: It would have been one thing.
- 1:42:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh yeah, it's this guy, obviously, who's like very well-known.
- 1:42:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, okay, that's great that you figure out who this is.
- 1:42:21[SPEAKER_01]: I have you.
- 1:42:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is it.
- 1:42:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a fucking thing with like, uh, like, like Lex Lou for pulling off the mask while he was like in the flash with body and it's like, I have no idea who does it.
- 1:42:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not even like disguise atop in the worker mask.
- 1:42:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, it's like, it's got, but you would find it stuff on YouTube.
- 1:42:39[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't actually got a chance to watch it.
- 1:42:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, Leon, the oral was like the most generic.
- 1:42:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's more than just like a very quickly prone to get a mask as well.
- 1:42:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:42:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then he versus Doye Musashi Yoshiyoka and U.A.
- 1:42:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oki, I'll just bring this up now.
- 1:43:01[SPEAKER_00]: Talk more is moving back to the junior division apparently.
- 1:43:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I'm not.
- 1:43:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm ready to make for that.
- 1:43:09[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say, am I the only person that thinks it's, um, um, I just don't think it's a good idea.
- 1:43:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, it's not.
- 1:43:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he was best, but like, he's best, but stick up in a tag team with you, Maoyagi.
- 1:43:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's my suggestion.
- 1:43:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, yeah, heavyweight tech work, or it's like his perfect role.
- 1:43:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, uh, I just think it's pointless, and I, you're, you've got a junior division coming along final with Adam.
- 1:43:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not big, but neither is the heavyweight division, it's all Japan.
- 1:43:40[SPEAKER_00]: In 2026, I would just keep them as a take from partner to a bigger start in the heavyweight division, right?
- 1:43:49[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I don't like that, but whatever it is, I don't think it's like a disaster or anything and just, you know, I think it's not the best use of it.
- 1:44:07[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to all the pins go here to set something up in the future.
- 1:44:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they got a, they got a cap is something, they have something building, yeah.
- 1:44:15[SPEAKER_00]: They have an older ward in August.
- 1:44:17[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, why not a semi-main of go versus su llama?
- 1:44:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:44:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'll get like that, you know.
- 1:44:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then whoever wins that child on dress.
- 1:44:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:44:26[SPEAKER_01]: After it.
- 1:44:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then we got another triple crown.
- 1:44:30[SPEAKER_00]: Bill that not bizarre teams here.
- 1:44:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, now the one bizarre team here can't be a heart and Kuma Rossi because it's really obvious right here on that.
- 1:44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Strange.
- 1:44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, uh, and then semi-maintenance the all-Asia tag team.
- 1:44:44[SPEAKER_00]: So you got, uh, at ski of Yagi and rising hat overs as human and zane show to Kufuji.
- 1:44:50[SPEAKER_00]: And the main event is June set on race set over Kangal Machimo and Dysuke Sekamoto for the world tags and titles which
- 1:44:58[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I think it's fair to say that the return of the cytos has a tag team.
- 1:45:04[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of trust them more now to have good tag team matches than I did even a year ago.
- 1:45:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I've certainly trusted that better tag team matches than singles matches.
- 1:45:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's for sure.
- 1:45:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's just more like I'm a little worried if you want to run with them.
- 1:45:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like as like longer-term champions if the bodies can hold up.
- 1:45:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, June's injury was an orbital bone.
- 1:45:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's a freak thing that happens to rest.
- 1:45:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried about his health.
- 1:45:27[SPEAKER_00]: at least in the shorter.
- 1:45:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but Ray, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:45:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:45:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, his shoulders forever taped up now.
- 1:45:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, one of those injuries.
- 1:45:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then on the 22nd Shinkiba show, which it's also doubt.
- 1:45:47[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where we are with this company right now.
- 1:45:50[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, student set of verses, yes, Taka Yano, second batch, Ray set of verses
- 1:45:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh god, we got Leo, the arrow versus San York side of the battle of the luchadors.
- 1:46:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, something like that.
- 1:46:06[SPEAKER_00]: Six-man tag match, Chetaris, you know, Hokuto, Mari, Dane, Tanwervers, Kuma Rashi, Saki Yoshio, Kansikotachi, Bonnet.
- 1:46:13[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a triple crown preview match.
- 1:46:14[SPEAKER_00]: Can't tell me a haragoshi, Ozaki, rising hato versus Renabe, Hidekness, Suki, Masashi, and the main event.
- 1:46:23[SPEAKER_00]: This is a great main event.
- 1:46:24[SPEAKER_00]: We have the reunited new period reunites here with you, my anxiety and rakey, Honda versus you, my Aoyaki and ASCII, Aoyaki.
- 1:46:33[SPEAKER_00]: That, oh, your calendar's folks.
- 1:46:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's a great, you can keep a main event too, honestly.
- 1:46:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:46:39[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then the 25th Kobe Sambohal, we got June set over Shotaka Fuji, Shotara Shino and Kumarashi versus Musashi and Sekiyo Shiyoka.
- 1:46:49[SPEAKER_00]: So this is basically a reference of one note.
- 1:46:51[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, ask your yagi rising ahead of Yasutaku Yanovers.
- 1:46:54[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you'll talk a little more.
- 1:46:55[SPEAKER_00]: Say go talk to you about it on Leon Doro.
- 1:46:57[SPEAKER_00]: Six man tag, Ray Sato, Hadekis Suzuki and Yagi versus Go Shiozaki.
- 1:47:03[SPEAKER_00]: Righty, Hade and Yuma Anzai.
- 1:47:05[SPEAKER_00]: Who takes the fall there?
- 1:47:06[SPEAKER_00]: Probably Honda a bit.
- 1:47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's the thing.
- 1:47:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then your world, junior pwf, junior nut tag, how to match dead hammer versus Nurekidoi, so good.
- 1:47:21[SPEAKER_00]: I expect good things there and then made events, which I think is a real question.
- 1:47:26[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see how far I have overcome where he challenges can't tell me a high on the main event.
- 1:47:31[SPEAKER_00]: Paul, what do you think?
- 1:47:32[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think the match will be good?
- 1:47:34[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think it's going to show some growth from what you sort of expect from this match?
- 1:47:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm not going to expect a match of the year, quality match, right?
- 1:47:43[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, it's kentos, so like this really also like a fairly high floor and how bad it can be as well.
- 1:47:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:47:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
- 1:47:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
- 1:47:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say it's going to be better than Kumaraishi, type of match.
- 1:47:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be better than the Talos title match, although that one I'm months certain of.
- 1:48:04[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it's going to be around where I like the Talos title.
- 1:48:07[SPEAKER_00]: I could see it'd be a little better than the Talos match, and Gefford better than Kuhmourashi.
- 1:48:12[SPEAKER_00]: So, and then the very next day, they held me show in Gifu.
- 1:48:17[SPEAKER_00]: I drew Kuhmoura and then we got opening match.
- 1:48:25[SPEAKER_00]: A deck he's a zuki, a damn camera, Paul is in this team.
- 1:48:28[SPEAKER_00]: Haroki Marase, which you may remember as, do you remember who that was, Paul?
- 1:48:33[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:48:34[SPEAKER_00]: Udomaro.
- 1:48:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh god, yeah, of course, and he's here with Jack Kennedy.
- 1:48:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, that's random.
- 1:48:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:48:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's summer.
- 1:48:45[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:48:45[SPEAKER_01]: The school's out for the summer, right?
- 1:48:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, school.
- 1:48:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, time to go.
- 1:48:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, time to go.
- 1:48:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, time to do wrestling again.
- 1:48:52[SPEAKER_00]: What a job routine.
- 1:48:53[SPEAKER_00]: That is like a. Superstars job routine.
- 1:48:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, that's like already in the ring.
- 1:49:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah already in the ring.
- 1:49:02[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 1:49:04[SPEAKER_00]: Six man tagged June set out, Hokutama Morgan, more in Leon to Oral versus Red Eye Abbey, Rising Hydro and Musashi.
- 1:49:12[SPEAKER_00]: You got catch on me a hara and Seki Yoshio covers his race set on your Doya, which actually can be a lot of fun.
- 1:49:18[SPEAKER_00]: Singles match.
- 1:49:20[SPEAKER_00]: Semi me in the vet.
- 1:49:20[SPEAKER_00]: Gosho Zaki versus Tarish, you know, havoc explodes.
- 1:49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, I don't have a yeah.
- 1:49:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure goes going to win.
- 1:49:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we say that it's a sheet of going to take that time off that he wanted to take off.
- 1:49:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:49:36[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to got it said he was, right?
- 1:49:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like he said, right?
- 1:49:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like I at this point I'm starting to think I would like Mandela effect that that that never happened.
- 1:49:43[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:49:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's a bad translation.
- 1:49:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:49:46[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 1:49:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um.
- 1:49:48[SPEAKER_00]: Beethoven is a six-minute take title match, which is, uh, Rookie Honda, Kubo Rashi, Cigratachi, Bata versus Yuma Ayuyagi,
- 1:50:01[SPEAKER_00]: I would assume that the chip is going to be a successful title of the fence on that, right?
- 1:50:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so that's how the young looking good, strong business every show is sold out or close to being sold out.
- 1:50:11[SPEAKER_00]: Corrican is standing room only and I think those standing room only tickets are going on sale the morning off.
- 1:50:16[SPEAKER_00]: So you could out buy them ahead of time according to the ticket site and everything like that.
- 1:50:22[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, part and closing thoughts, who's the MVP of all Japan this year?
- 1:50:27[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think there's a couple of interesting candidates.
- 1:50:29[SPEAKER_01]: I would say go.
- 1:50:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I say go too.
- 1:50:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I did, I mean, he has the thing.
- 1:50:34[SPEAKER_01]: I did vote for Ken to as like second overall in the
- 1:50:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because he is the guy on the top of the promotion.
- 1:50:45[SPEAKER_01]: He is the champion, he's the guy in the drawing position.
- 1:50:48[SPEAKER_01]: But I think in terms of having the biggest impact on the promotion, like basically compared to how it was last year, it's like bringing and go has made a massive difference to all Japan.
- 1:51:01[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 1:51:03[SPEAKER_00]: What were the ends either?
- 1:51:04[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think he also has to be talked about.
- 1:51:06[SPEAKER_00]: And look, I know it's cliche, but also Kenter,
- 1:51:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, exactly.
- 1:51:14[SPEAKER_01]: So, as Anzai, I'm still like, because his biggest thing is something that happened outside of the promotion, really.
- 1:51:23[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 1:51:24[SPEAKER_00]: But he's drawing.
- 1:51:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's drawing for sure, yeah.
- 1:51:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:51:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, MVP's that pure drawing, but, you know, has to be factored.
- 1:51:32[SPEAKER_00]: Paul, how about my Dark Horse candidate?
- 1:51:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, my Dark Horse candidate is?
- 1:51:36[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say go touch it, Bona.
- 1:51:38[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:51:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's a good one, honestly.
- 1:51:42[SPEAKER_01]: Palace of yeah, you know what I can see that argument you know, but yeah, I don't know that definitely just makes it happen.
- 1:51:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's like half a joke, but also like kind of I mean I put it I voted for him as like second for like most improved.
- 1:51:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's Um, that's definitely a good.
- 1:52:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's a definitely a good one.
- 1:52:02[SPEAKER_00]: Actually I also got to go vote the Eastern layer half your words that I'm voting for callos for best foreigner.
- 1:52:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's fair like come on like yeah, you know Exactly, which you just been psyched down Yeah, that's good vote for column Newman But I would argue that Talis is not a bigger impact to Alchipan even though Calum Newman has won the title and I am a calendar Calum I'm a column Newman defender and but that's just my sort of partial joke, but I mean he
- 1:52:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, in a number of ways, right?
- 1:52:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:52:41[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway.
- 1:52:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:52:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.
- 1:52:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, as tech champion, like the, and all of that.
- 1:52:45[SPEAKER_01]: No, no.
- 1:52:45[SPEAKER_01]: He has had, like, good results are, like, still, like, failing new as all.
- 1:52:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:52:50[SPEAKER_00]: So that's it.
- 1:52:51[SPEAKER_00]: We went way longer than I thought we were going to go.
- 1:52:54[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, I think we had a good talk about Joe.
- 1:52:56[SPEAKER_00]: Good interesting talk with that.
- 1:52:58[SPEAKER_00]: We could interview and then just,
- 1:53:00[SPEAKER_00]: talking about the previews, getting everything up.
- 1:53:04[SPEAKER_00]: So again, just rested piece, Joe, and to your, that's what's your friend and family, just so incredibly tragic.
- 1:53:11[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe he's gone, really.
- 1:53:13[SPEAKER_00]: Everything.
- 1:53:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's awesome.
