- 1:57as you can get them to go deep into the earth.
- 2:03And this is grounding you. It's making you feel very safe. Today.
- 2:12I'm going to tell you a story, and this is
- 2:16a story about a young puppy called Bert. Now Bert
- 2:22is only seven months old, but he is an Irish
- 2:25wolfhound and because he's an Irish wolfhound. He is very
- 2:31very big, so big, in fact, he is the size
- 2:35of a fully grown, large, very large German shepherd, probably
- 2:41even bigger now. Bert lived with his mum Chila and
- 2:46his dad Friend, and they lived in a little cottage
- 2:51with a very large garden, so large it had its
- 2:54own meadow, its own forest, and it even had its
- 2:59own swimming pool. Yes, really, its own swimming pool. Well,
- 3:05actually it was a large pond.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But they liked it.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Now. This day, Baked came rushing out of his back
- 3:14door with his tail wagging furiously, kicking up the date
- 3:17as he ran. Bert was very happy this day as
- 3:21he was going out all by himself to explore, and
- 3:25it was the first time his parents had let him
- 3:27out by himself, and he was so excited he was
- 3:30grinning from ear to ear. His mother called after him, saying, now,
- 3:35don't you go too far, Bays. We don't want you
- 3:38getting lost. Bert shouted back that he wouldn't get lost,
- 3:42as he was seven months old now and he knew
- 3:44what he was doing. Bert carried on, running down the
- 3:48dusty path and on into the meadow. The meadow was
- 3:53his favorite place. He'd only ever been there with his
- 3:56parents before, so he was just giddy with pleasure to
- 3:59be out all by himself, all on his own. Bert
- 4:03ran into the most wonderful, colorful meadow where the birds
- 4:07were happily singing, and they could hear the bees buzzing
- 4:10lazily around the flowers. But he kept away from them
- 4:14now because one day he decided to play and chase
- 4:18the bees. Well, the bees didn't like that, and one
- 4:23of them stumbing, And that was the day Bert went
- 4:27to the vets for the very first time. Some of
- 4:32the flowers in the meadow had shed some of their petals,
- 4:36and Bert thought that the dusty path now looked like
- 4:38a brightly colored carpet of flowers. The colors were bright
- 4:42and vibrant, and it filled him with a sense of
- 4:45joy and happiness. He could also see the most wonderful
- 4:50red butterflies landing on the flowers looking for their lunch.
- 4:55And as Bert ran further into the meadow, he could
- 4:58see the old water fountain, for one made of marble,
- 5:02and he could see the water cascading down it like
- 5:04a beautiful waterfall. He decided to have a drink. After
- 5:09all this running merrily was thirsty work. Indeed, after drinking
- 5:16the cool clear water from the marble fountain, Yer carried
- 5:20on walking, this time instead of running. He had calmed
- 5:25down now and he began to sniff everything inside and
- 5:29sniff he did. He sniffed the flowers, he sniffed the
- 5:34long grass. He even sniffed the butterflies. And one of
- 5:38the butterflies landed on his nose and gently moved the twings.
- 5:43Bert tried to look at it, but it made his
- 5:46eyes go crossed, and he was very relieved when it
- 5:50flew off again. Bert carried on going his way, just
- 5:57walking along the dusty path quite happily, when he noticed
- 6:01something moving up ahead of him. He didn't know what
- 6:05it was, so he went to investigate, and as he
- 6:09got closer, he realized that it was a rabbit, a
- 6:13very beautiful silver gray rabbit. So Bart decided he would
- 6:19go and play with the rabbit. But the rabbit got
- 6:22very scared because he could see a dog rushing towards him. Well,
- 6:27he would get scared seeing a very large, lumbering giant
- 6:30and the dog rushing towards you with his tears flapping,
- 6:33showing his teeth with a big grin. I'd get a
- 6:36bit panicky. The little rabbit panicked and began to run
- 6:41as fast as he could to get away. Bat thought
- 6:44that this was again, so he decided to run faster too.
- 6:48The rabbit, now alarmed, ran even faster until it came
- 6:52to a hole in the ground and then dived deeply
- 6:56down into it. This was a rabbit hole, and it
- 6:59led through to underground tunnels, but it wasn't the little
- 7:03rabbit's home, so it got a bit lost, so it
- 7:07just stopped and it stayed in the tunnel, thinking that
- 7:10the big hairy dog wouldn't find it. But the big
- 7:15hairy dog did find it. Bait, now, being overlly excited,
- 7:21still thinking that this was a game they were playing,
- 7:24dived into the hole too, but oh no, he caught
- 7:27himself stuck. He tried to go deeper into the hole,
- 7:32but that made it worse. He tried to pull himself out,
- 7:36but that was even worse again, and he was going
- 7:40deeper and he was stuck fast. Now. The little rabbit,
- 7:47who was also in the home, was very scared, indeed,
- 7:51because all he could see was Burt's big hairy face
- 7:54and sharp teeth. The little rabbit thought the bit wanted
- 7:59to eat it, and he didn't know what to do,
- 8:03so the little rabbit started to dig with his little paws,
- 8:08trying to find another way out. It dug, and it
- 8:11dug faster and faster, until eventually it broke through the
- 8:17surface and was free. The little rabbit stood for a moment,
- 8:23wondered what to do, and then took a peek to
- 8:26see if the dog was still there. But what the
- 8:29little rabbit saw was an enormous hairy bottom with two
- 8:36hairy legs and a hairy tail that had stopped wagging.
- 8:41Now a little rabbit then heard a whimper. It saw
- 8:47the big hairy dog trying to get out of the hole,
- 8:51but it couldn't, and the big hairy dog began to cry,
- 8:55and it sounded very scared. The little rabbit was about
- 9:00to run away home, but the sound of the hairy
- 9:03dog crying made it stop. The hairy bottom and the
- 9:09hairy back legs then lay down with its tail no
- 9:13longer wagging. The little silver gray rabbit stopped and spoke
- 9:21to the hairy dog. Are you okay? She asked, because
- 9:27the little rabbit was a girl rabbit. The big hairy
- 9:32dog gave another scared whimper, so she asked again, are
- 9:37you okay, big hairy dog? The bad stop whimpering and
- 9:42said no, I'm stuck and i can't get out of
- 9:45this hole, and I'm very scared. I want my mum
- 9:50to come and help me. Bert said to the little rabbit, well,
- 9:54she doesn't know where I am. Please will you help me?
- 10:00The little rabbit thought for a moment and then said,
- 10:04but if I help you to get out of the hole,
- 10:06you will eat me? What said Bert? Of course I
- 10:11won't eat you. Why would I want to eat you.
- 10:14I only wanted to play with you. Bert gave a
- 10:18muffled sigh and said, we lived so far away from everything,
- 10:22so I don't have any friends. I thought that we
- 10:25could be friends. I'm sorry if I scared you. I
- 10:29didn't mean to. Bert gave a little whimper again, and
- 10:34he sounded ever so sad. The little rabbit thought for
- 10:39a moment, and even though she was still scared of
- 10:43the big hairy dog, she knew in her heart that
- 10:47he wouldn't hurt her, so she said, okay, I will
- 10:52help you get out of the hole. Oh, thank you
- 10:55so much, said Bert. The little rabbit went to a
- 11:00was really stuff, which was so close to his head
- 11:03and his big scary teeth. But she began to dig anyway.
- 11:08She dug, and she dug faster and faster, harder and harder,
- 11:14until finally she had made enough room for Bert to
- 11:18wriggle out of the home. Dirt exploded out of the hole,
- 11:24and was so happy to be free. He had been
- 11:29very scared, and he was covered in dirt and grass.
- 11:34It was all over his face and in his ears,
- 11:36it was even up his nose. So he gave himself
- 11:40a great big shake, and he shook off most of
- 11:43the days. But he knew his mom would make him
- 11:46take a bath when he got home. She would definitely
- 11:49not let him walk on the carpet she was cleaning
- 11:52when he left earlier, and she would definitely not let
- 11:56him eat his dinner until he was all sparkly clean again.
- 12:01Bert turned to look at the little rabbit, and what
- 12:04he saw made him of a great big, lopsided grin.
- 12:10The little silver gray rabbit was the most beautiful creature
- 12:14he had ever seen, and she had the kindest smile
- 12:18and the most amazing blue eyes. She'd never seen a
- 12:22rabbit with blue eyes before. Thank you so much for
- 12:26helping me. He said. My name is Bert and I
- 12:30am seven months old. What's your name? My name is
- 12:34Lucy and I am seven months old too, she replied.
- 12:40Lucy looked at the giant, hairy door and saw nothing
- 12:44but kindness in his big brown eyes, and she realized
- 12:48that she wasn't afraid of him any more. Just then,
- 12:53Bert gade his name being called in the distance, and
- 12:56he knew that it was his mum. I have to go.
- 13:00My mum is calling for me, and oh boy, is
- 13:03she going to be mad that I am so dirty.
- 13:08Bert looked at Lucy and said, can we be friends?
- 13:12I would really like to play with you next time
- 13:14and not scare you. Of course we can, said Lucy.
- 13:19I would love to be your friend and go on
- 13:21adventures with you. Bertaid, well, how about tomorrow? Then say
- 13:27just after lunch. Great, I will be here, said Lucy,
- 13:33and with that she waved goodbye and she hopped off home.
- 13:39Bert was so happy he had made a new friend,
- 13:43and even now she was scared of him. At first,
- 13:46Lucy trusted him enough to help him. Bert thought she
- 13:52was a very very kind little rabbit. Then Bert turned
- 13:58and dashed off home to his and to his dad,
- 14:01feeling so very happy, and to tell them all about
- 14:05his new friend. He couldn't wait for tomorrow to see
- 14:09Lucy again and to go off on an adventure with her.
- 14:12What fun they were going to have together. But now
- 14:18having listened to this lovely story, you are feeling very sleepy,
- 14:24and you are breathing calmly and peacefully, and you begin
- 14:28to drift in a beautiful night's sleep. You feel so
- 14:32happy and so peaceful, and your body begins to fall asleep,
- 14:39and then so does your mind. And you feel a
- 14:42gentle wave of sleepiness starting at your feet, and you
- 14:47can feel your toes going to sleep, and it feels
- 14:50all warm and tingly and ever so soft. And you
- 14:55feel this soothing, gentle wave of sleepiness coming up your
- 15:00arms and your shins, through your knees, and all the
- 15:04way up your thighs, and you realize your legs have
- 15:08already gone to sleep. And you feel so tired now,
- 15:12so sleepy, so very happy. You just want to rest
- 15:19your eyes, rest your body, And this beautiful wave of
- 15:24sleepiness travels all the way up your body and all
- 15:29the way down your arms and into your hands, making
- 15:33your body feel very very heavy, very very tired, very
- 15:42very sleepy. This gentle warm wave of sleepiness travels up
- 15:49your face and over the top of your head, down
- 15:53the back of your neck, and you feel so tired. Now,
- 15:58oh give me all. You feel so sleepy. You feel
- 16:05very peaceful, so very relaxed.
- 16:11Speaker 2: So very very sleepy.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Just went to sleep. Always remember you are safe, you
- 16:23are loved, and you are protected. Always Night night.
