- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by the hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here now. No judgement, but are you a bit
- 0:44of a sugar fiend? Do you have a sweet tooth?
- 0:47And as someone that also has. I can relate, I remember.
- 0:51Throughout my childhood I would have so many sweets.
- 0:55My teeth are still in not a great shape directly as all of
- 0:59the sugar I had as a child. Now this session is all about
- 1:04breaking sugar addiction and there is ways of doing it,
- 1:09partly by giving sugar a connotation that it acts more
- 1:13like a drug. It's more like something
- 1:16poisonous for you than something actually useful.
- 1:19A lot of people consider sugar just like a food, and I could
- 1:22say that sugar in fruit and sugar in certain natural foods
- 1:28actually is a food. It's contains lots of nutrients,
- 1:31but when it's hyper processed, when all of the fibre and all of
- 1:36the water has been taken out and you're just left with sugar
- 1:41granules, there is no actual food like quality of it left.
- 1:46What you now have is a drug, a drug that can boost glycogen
- 1:51levels very quickly and is very, very addictive.
- 1:55And food companies know that, which is why they have so much
- 1:57sugar as well as other processed foods like salt in the
- 2:02ingredients, because what they want is clients that are
- 2:06addicted, customers that are addictive.
- 2:08So if you feel that you have a sweet tooth, then just know that
- 2:14you've been trained to have that.
- 2:16That actually if you grew up in a different time in history
- 2:19where there was none of the sugar, you wouldn't have these
- 2:22cravings because you would never have got addicted to it in the
- 2:251st place. Now the best way to get the most
- 2:28out of this session is to know your enemy.
- 2:31So what are the sweet or sugary things that you tend to crave?
- 2:36It might be chocolates, it might be candy, it might be those hard
- 2:40boiled sweets that are crunchy, it might be chewy sweets.
- 2:43Whatever it is, know what it is and think what are the
- 2:48circumstances that tend to get you reaching for them.
- 2:52It might be a visual trigger that you see them and then you
- 2:56feel a compulsion. Or it might be an emotional
- 2:58trigger that if you feel low energy or you feel bored then
- 3:01you grab them or you buy them. These things are impulsive by
- 3:06nature. There is a reason that
- 3:08supermarkets have the sweet things right by the checkout
- 3:11because if you see them, you might buy them.
- 3:14But if you have to walk just 30 seconds to somewhere else in the
- 3:18supermarket, you don't want to, it's not worth it for you.
- 3:21So that is how weak a hold sugar has over you.
- 3:26But equally, because it's very prevalent and it's everywhere,
- 3:30it can be difficult to avoid. Think of the fizzy drinks, think
- 3:34of sugar and desserts and ice cream and things like that.
- 3:37It's difficult to have these boundaries, but it's the
- 3:39boundaries that will set you free.
- 3:42So think of what sugar is it that you crave and what are the
- 3:45circumstances that you crave that sugar?
- 3:48And then you'll get more value from this hypnosis session.
- 3:52Now, it was created for an individual.
- 3:54Therefore, some of the suggestions relate much more to
- 3:58the client that I'm working with than just generic suggestions.
- 4:01So if you do want a hypnosis session completely crafted and
- 4:05calibrated and customized to you and your circumstances, there
- 4:09will be a link in the description.
- 4:11If you click more information or show notes, you'll see lots of
- 4:15resources in their free courses, but there will also be a link
- 4:18where you can schedule a completely free consultation
- 4:20call. We'll have a chat over Zoom and
- 4:22who knows, we might end up working together directly rather
- 4:26than you just listening to the recordings.
- 4:28For now though, you might real really get some value from this
- 4:30session. So find a quiet, comfortable
- 4:33place where you won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 4:35Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:03you breathe in, breathe in that. Resourceful.
- 5:06Feeling of calm and relaxation, and as you exhale, feel a
- 5:14wonderful feeling of release, as if any tension, stress and
- 5:20worries, perhaps even any old stories, are starting to feel
- 5:27like they're leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 5:34And I want you to breathe in a feeling of self love and exhale
- 5:43any attachments to gratification because the wisest part within
- 5:53knows that sometimes those things that have short term
- 6:01gratification normally come at a very high price.
- 6:10As you breathe in and breathe out, think about that.
- 6:17Think about a time when you were given something.
- 6:21Cheap or free? But it came came at a very high
- 6:28price to continue to breathe in that feeling of self love and
- 6:37exhale, exhale any feelings of dependency or habits that have
- 6:48been unknowingly destructive. And some people believe that
- 6:53when you know better, you do better.
- 7:00But sometimes months or years can pass before the penny drops.
- 7:08But when the penny does drop, everything changes instantly.
- 7:17Breathing in self love, exhaling any need for short term
- 7:24gratification. Each breath takes you deeper and
- 7:29deeper. Relaxed.
- 7:31The deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel, and the more
- 7:36relaxed you feel the. Deeper you breathe.
- 7:40As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens and I wonder
- 7:45if you could imagine being in your garden on a sunny day under
- 7:53blue skies. But not just anytime.
- 7:59I want you to imagine this happening days after an
- 8:05important decision, A decision where you chose you.
- 8:16Imagine being under the sunshine and blue skies in that garden.
- 8:22Maybe there's a breeze or a fragrance, a real feeling of
- 8:27connection and continue to breathe in that self love.
- 8:35I want you to get a feeling that sometimes you've seen people in
- 8:41the past that have no self love, they have self loathing and I
- 8:51want you to see a connection in those people that have lost the
- 8:57ability to love themselves. How?
- 9:01Easy it is. To do things that are
- 9:04destructive. Short term pleasure, long term
- 9:10pain. But those people brimming with
- 9:14self love, high self esteem, self respect, there is a
- 9:21reluctance to do those things that are pleasurable in the
- 9:27moment that can bring long term pain to connect with that
- 9:35feeling that those major decisions in your life came from
- 9:41a place of love, respect, of nurturing, of protection from
- 9:52you to you. And feel proud of those earlier
- 9:58decisions and get a sense that what if now we're not doing
- 10:07something new, we're just building on the foundations that
- 10:13have already been laid in your past.
- 10:21That's in allow your nervous system to relax and unwind.
- 10:27Give permission for the body to feel safe.
- 10:32And I want you to get a sense of what control really is.
- 10:37Control has the idea of struggle, of fighting.
- 10:47But when you truly became free, you stopped using control and
- 10:55instead you simply reprioritized.
- 11:02You prioritized yourself over a substance.
- 11:11It doesn't matter if that was a cigarette or perhaps a binge
- 11:19followed by a purge. When the penny dropped, you
- 11:25chose you to allow your breathing to find its own
- 11:31rhythm, allow your unconscious to listen without pressure,
- 11:39without control and without struggle.
- 11:47Imagine yourself in that garden and bring your focus inwards and
- 11:53think back to cravings of the past.
- 11:57Cravings were never a failure of character.
- 12:03Sometimes they were just moments of vulnerability, fatigue,
- 12:07stress. Sometimes in the afternoon, but
- 12:12not always. Moments when your system wanted
- 12:17relief, comfort, a quick shift in state.
- 12:26And you don't have to judge that part.
- 12:30You can acknowledge it with compassion because you already
- 12:36know something powerful and profound that trying to control
- 12:43cravings only gives the cravings something to push against.
- 12:52And I want you to release yourself from any need or desire
- 12:58to live your life by fighting urges, and instead to live your
- 13:03life by choosing what matters more.
- 13:14Allow your unconscious mind to remember a time in your past,
- 13:19perhaps for 10 or 11 years. It was short term pleasure, but
- 13:28it came at a cost. And one day you made a choice, a
- 13:32decision. A decision that your health,
- 13:36your life, your vitality were more important than short term
- 13:43relief. And think of later in life.
- 13:49Something else almost became a reward, a treat, a habit, a
- 13:58routine, a ritual. And it was only after you broke
- 14:05that habit that you realized that all of those stories and
- 14:10narratives weren't really real. You just convinced yourself that
- 14:16they were. Think back to that decision when
- 14:23enough was enough, and think how pleased you are now that you
- 14:29made that decision then. And I want you to think, did you
- 14:36really? Lose anything?
- 14:40Or did you gain something, gain more health, more confidence,
- 14:45more clarity, more freedom, and when something no longer
- 14:51connects or aligns with? Who you?
- 14:53Really are the desire fades naturally?
- 15:02What if the desire for lollies? Was who you?
- 15:06Were when you were six years old but not who you are now?
- 15:15What if chocolate aligned with who you were when you were 9 or
- 15:2110, but doesn't really align with who you are now?
- 15:31When it no longer quite fits? Notice how easily it loses its
- 15:38appeal. And now, without judgement,
- 15:44without fear, simply with clarity, I want you to imagine
- 15:51seeing sugar and all of those hyper processed foods for what
- 15:57they truly are. It's not nourishment, they have
- 16:03no nutrients and it's not fuel. I want you to see them as a
- 16:13chemical shortcut, a drug designed to hijack the brain,
- 16:21the spike dopamine, create false comfort.
- 16:27And notice how many times you've been eating chocolate or sweets
- 16:32and before you even finish you're already thinking about
- 16:36the next one. This is not the behaviour of
- 16:41food, this is the behaviour of a drug.
- 16:50There was a time in your life when cigarettes were once
- 16:55marketed as pleasure, until they weren't.
- 17:03And what if, in your mind, sugar are now the cigarettes of food?
- 17:12Not evil, just incompatible. Something that extracts far more
- 17:20than it gives, and your unconscious understands the
- 17:26difference deeply. And I want you to notice that
- 17:33thing inside you, a part that would occasionally be in
- 17:39control. The part that no matter how much
- 17:44in control you're trying to be, would still reach for something
- 17:48sweet. And it wasn't to sabotage you.
- 17:56Maybe it was an attempt to give you pleasure or help you cope.
- 18:01That part wanted relief, wanted ease, wanted to change how it
- 18:08felt in the fastest way it knew. And I want you to thank that
- 18:13part now. Thank you for trying to help,
- 18:21but let it know that the price is no longer worth paying.
- 18:29There is a wiser part within you, a part that chooses
- 18:35recovery, healing, freedom, that chooses life over any temporary
- 18:43escape. And I want you to hear the
- 18:47tonality conviction of that part within you saying something like
- 18:57we don't need this anymore. Enough is enough.
- 19:04You are choosing life, and that craving part can relax because
- 19:16it no longer needs to protect you through chemistry.
- 19:20There are better ways now. I want you to imagine yourself
- 19:27in the future, perhaps a week from now, maybe an afternoon.
- 19:34See yourself a dip in energy, a familiar old pattern, but
- 19:44without the pull. Perhaps instead of craving sugar
- 19:50or something sweet, I want you to notice that your body is
- 19:54asking for something different, and maybe it's hydration or
- 20:00movement or protein or freshness.
- 20:10What if your body craves nutrition rather than?
- 20:17Gratification, or maybe just a moment of rest and relaxation
- 20:25and see that future version of you responding without drama,
- 20:30without debate, no need for struggle or negotiation.
- 20:37Almost like sugar no longer registers as food.
- 20:45It's a drug noise, a wriggling worm on the end of a hook, and
- 20:54you move on easily. And then imagine yourself months
- 21:01from now. At that point your body has
- 21:06recalibrated and adapted. Maybe it seems surprising, but
- 21:14in the same way. You were able.
- 21:17To break free from cigarettes, A future version of you doesn't
- 21:23miss sugar. In fact, it doesn't want it.
- 21:30Because eating. Well, feeding yourself kindness,
- 21:35love, respect gives you something far more powerful.
- 21:42It gives you clarity, energy, stability and most importantly,
- 21:51when you are kind and nourishing to yourself, it gives you a
- 21:56whole new level of self respect. See that future version of you
- 22:03with pride in their choices. Trust in yourself.
- 22:10A quiet, steady self love. And that feeling lasts far
- 22:18longer and goes far deeper than any brief hit of sweetness ever
- 22:26could. And if you're unconscious, is
- 22:32ready and willing to choose yourself, just as you've done
- 22:38before, let me know by nodding your head.
- 22:43That's it. Connect and align with that as
- 22:49it's time to leave this place and return to the present, the
- 22:55here and now. So take a deep breath in through
- 22:57your nose and out through your nose.
- 23:03Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate
- 23:07into the here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to
- 23:14awaken you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 23:20456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes, open your eyes,
- 23:25910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
